This is an I-Heart podcast.
Guaranteed Human.
Another podcast from some SNL, late-night comedy guy, not quite.
Unhumor me with Robert Smygel and friends.
Me and hilarious guests from Bob Odenkirk to David Letterman
help make you funnier.
This week, my guest, SNL's Mikey Day and head writer Streeter Seidel,
help an a cappella band with their between songs banter.
Where does your group perform?
We do some retirement homes.
Those people are starving for banter.

Imagine an Olympics where doping is not only legal, but encouraged. It's the enhanced games.
Some call it grotesque. Others say it's unleashing human potential. Either way, the podcast's
superhuman documented it all, embedded in the games and with the athletes for a full year.
Within probably 10 days, I'd put on 10 pounds. I was having trouble stopping the muscle growth.

Yep, that's me, Cliver Taylor the 4th.

Well, now I'm bringing all of that excitement to my brand new podcast, The Clifers Show.

For 1979, that was a big moment for me.
84's big to me.
I'm Sam J.
And I'm Alex English.
Each episode, we pick a here, unpack what went down, and try to make
sense of how we survived it with our friends, fellow
comedians, and favorite authors.
Like Mark Lamont Hill on the 80s.
84 was a wild year. I don't think there's a more important year for black people.

This is the Ben and Ashley I, Almost Famous Podcasts with IHart Radio.
Welcome back to the Almost Famous Podcast. We are recapping episode seven of the Real Housewives of Rhode Island.
We don't know how it's possible. But these women are a slight.
into even more drama this week.
So let's get into it.
Lauren's here.
Hello.
Mother's Day, Lauren, happy Mother's Day week.
Yes.
It's your first, right?
It's my first.
And Ashley and I are going to be together
and we're going out to dinner alone just the two of us
to have a quiet dinner where no one talks
and no one cries and it's going to be great.
When you two decide that, is that how it really operates?
They'll probably be a little bit of,
of talking, but nothing crazy.
You know, it's like nice when you're eating with someone, you have no pressure to talk.
You can just enjoy your food.
Sure, definitely.
Well, you talk all day.
I do like to people.
I talk all day.
Yeah.
Yeah.
I talk all day.
She talks all day.
And then also, like, you know, going out to dinner with kids sucks.
So.
All right.
We got episode seven of the Real Housewives of Rhode Island in true Ashley fashion.
Jared makes plans.
and Ashley has already committed to something very important,
a Jonas Brothers concert.
Yes.
She literally says Saturdays no good for me.
The Jonas Brothers are in town, like straight from the hangover.
It's iconic.
And I missed that my first watch.
I watched it again.
And I was like, oh, my God, that's so funny, actually.
I hope that everyone picked up on that.
It was so funny.
This mansion trip is meant to be, I mean,
it's set up to be a vacation.
for everybody, right?
Yeah.
It's not, though.
It doesn't feel like it ever.
No, no one's enjoying themselves.
And it seems like Liz is having a really bad time,
and we don't really understand why,
because she's not, like, being as bougie as she wants to be.
Yeah, I'm sure when you're, like, used to going on vacation to a nice place.
Yeah.
And then you go on this trip, and yet it's kind of planned out for you.
There's always something happening.
It's just, you know, you don't say you're going on a vacation
when you're filming a TV show.
It's not the way it works.
They're going to ask you to be in a thousand different places all the time.
100%.
Yeah.
I think that this is jam-packed with funny things from Ashley this episode.
I really enjoyed it.
We're seeing more of Ashley, like, kind of stand up for herself and stand up for Rosie.
Because I think we opened this episode up with what Rosie was throwing up all night because
of the mean things that Kelsey said to her.
We don't know if it's related or not, but like, they're all at the breakfast table.
and Ashley stands up for Rosie,
but then of course ends up crying
because she's uncomfortable.
Yeah.
It is how, I mean, this episode kicks off
with the women kind of FaceTiming husbands.
Yeah.
Checking in, talking about life.
And then we do get right into Rosie, like, sick.
She is sick.
Do you think, and from what you know,
is she sick, Lauren, be, is she actually sick?
Or is she sick really because of the
stress, anxiety, sadness,
everything that's kind of
encapsulating this experience.
I think it was stress
based on everything else
because later in the day
after they kind of talk it out,
she seems to be fine,
no more throwing up.
It was probably just like,
you know,
when you get like a knot in your stomach
and she's also kind of like trapped there.
Like you can't leave,
really.
I mean,
actually did end up leaving
but like only for extreme circumstances.
So I think she probably just felt super anxious
and I feel really bad for her.
There is one thing, and I want you to tell me if you agree.
Yeah.
It does feel like Liz enjoys each person.
Take away any public comments, take away anything that's happened recently.
It does seem during the show that she is kind of feeling like she is, for better word, like the house mom.
Where she has her own relationship with each person some bit deeper than others.
Outside of that, you really don't seem like there's anybody that really loves to be around everybody.
else. That's true. Yeah, it seems like she does have her own relationship with each one of the girls.
And she doesn't seem to pick sides. Like she's not automatically going to jump with Joe Allen or
Liz. She's going to hear everything out and kind of make like a rational opinion on everything.
And we also see that in the way that she doesn't immediately believe Joellen when she shows her
texts about Rula and Brian. So she's kind of just, she's friends of all of them. And then, well,
we get to it, I'll give a little behind the scenes of when Ashley goes into Liz's room.
Yeah.
It's, that's the one takeaway because we do so see Joelle and Alicia leave.
We do see at some point Liz separate from the group.
There's very few moments that we see everybody just kind of like powering together if it's
not on camera.
It seems like once the cameras are, and everybody kind of goes there separate ways.
Yeah.
Joelle and Alicia go into town.
Interesting little note there.
their driver that picks him up used to live in this house during college.
First off, what a dorm.
Amazing.
A dream.
It feels like he's playing into this haunted mansion theme that everybody's kind of been speculating and talking about.
Do you believe in ghosts?
Oh, my God.
I'm a huge, I'm a huge fan of ghosts.
For my 30th birthday, Hunter rented out an abandoned insane asylum for me to go ghost hunting in.
It was the best day in my entire life.
Did you find one?
We felt lots of weird stuff.
And there was some evidence caught on EVP readers.
Very cool.
Highly believe in ghosts.
Really?
That's interesting.
I think I do, actually.
I don't know how in what capacity I have people that I trust in my life that have claimed to see them.
And so it's hard for me to discount their story just because these aren't like fabricators.
or liars. They're just people.
And it's not like they want to talk about it all the time.
It's just kind of if you get them in the right moment, maybe they'll bring it up.
So, I mean, I think so.
I don't know about this mansion thing.
I feel like it's always the bigger the house, the older the house.
Yeah, yeah.
I know.
And they said a nun hung herself there so that really makes it haunted.
It makes it creepier.
It doesn't necessarily make it haunted, but I still love the lore.
And I love that this guy lived there.
It's so random.
It's so random and so weird.
But they do go out on their own to kind of have a like a morning separated from the group.
Well, everybody else jumps into the slip inside.
But before the slip inside, we get a conversation between Kelsey and Rosie.
It's really the first conversation that felt like it could go somewhere beneficial.
Yeah, I agree.
Because Liz was like, look, I know I have a resting bitch face.
And that can make everything I say kind of seems snarky, but really genuinely, I was like giving you a compliment and let's just start fresh.
I'd love to see it because Ashley ends up leaving later on in this episode.
And I feel like that'd be weird for Rosie not to have her like emotional support friend there if she's still fighting with Kelsey.
So it seems like things are squashed for now, obviously, for like this one 24 hours.
Because in scenes to come, they obviously get in a huge fight down the road.
I'm looking forward to that fight
But I am very scared
There's like physical fights going on
Yeah there's like there's physical touching
Which should increase the intensity of the fight
You know yelling is one thing that we've seen all season
The physical touching is different
Ashley has a big role
At the beginning of this episode
And really throughout the episode
She you can tell
No matter what
All Ashley wants here is some type of peace.
I know.
She's like, everyone's get along.
And then she was like, maybe if everyone just kind of like nurtured Rosie, I guess,
or everyone was a little more nurturing, we would all get along well.
And then they attack Ashley for wanting nurturing in their friendship group.
And I thought that was so weird.
Like, why is it such an awful thing to say?
It isn't.
I don't think it's weird to most people.
I wonder if I want to know at this point
Maybe you can touch on it
What do they think of Ashley
At this point in the season?
These girls are obviously just getting to know her
Yeah
She was a little quieter at the beginning
Trying to get her feet wet
She's now speaking up more
They're getting to know more about her
What do they think of her?
I mean, I think they probably think
She's like the nicest person ever
Because she doesn't want to yell
She wants everyone
She's to have a great time
So I guess that could be misconstrued as like boring, but she's obviously not boring.
She's just highly emotional and these women are not highly emotional.
They're not highly emotional in the way that Ashley is, which is very like soft and they're like hard and are hardened.
Because if we even hear Jo Ellen's story, she's like, I don't want to talk about nurturing.
I don't like nurturing.
And I'm like, well, we get into the fact that you were sent away by your mother who was not nurturing.
I feel like it's all coming back around.
Like, that's why you're uncomfortable with this less sensitive stuff.
It's a great point.
And it's a great segue into the Alicia and Joellen Day Out.
We get to know more of really Joe Ellen's story, I'd say.
I mean, Alicia touches on kind of her comments at the dinner.
But we really dig into Joellen and why she has this angst against her mom.
We've been confused by.
At least I have on the show saying, hey, I get it.
you don't like the person that raised you,
but it does feel like you're being extra critical
without saying why,
but now we get a picture of why, right?
We get it.
This was captivating.
And I want to hear kind of your breakdown of it
because Joellen, in my,
I mean,
to simplify it in a way that probably it does,
I mean,
definitely doesn't do it justice.
She got,
she feels like she's been tossed around.
Yeah.
And never really chosen.
And not chosen at a,
anything more than not chosen out of love and care more chosen out of necessity to hey either the
state's going to take you or I'll take you back but I want to hear kind of your breakdown of this
this date that the two of them had where you know maybe it goes against everything I said last
week but I don't think trauma bonding is the best way to build a friendship but it does feel like
this kind of deepen their friendship that's true yeah I don't believe in like trauma bonding really
But to get to know like Joellen's past and a little more about her and why the way she is the way she is, it helps us.
And I've always liked Joelle.
And I always thought she was funny and honestly not mean-spirited.
And this made me feel so bad for her.
And it's such an interesting story.
And you could tell like she's gorgeous.
And I could see that like her mom at the beginning, even with her little interaction when she was going to babysit.
Like she probably was just jealous of.
this gorgeous outgoing girl.
She didn't want to be around her own daughter.
I mean, I don't understand that aspect.
But having her sent away is really, really traumatic.
And I think it's interesting that Jen was also sent away.
And for not just a couple months, but for a year, I don't know if her mom just didn't
want to parent or she just didn't want to parent someone who was like better than her,
you know?
Because she seems like a nice, outgoing, pretty girl.
And I think that kind of was threatening to her mom.
But that's a whole other psyche that we have to get into down the line because I don't get it.
Yeah.
I mean, it does explain a lot.
I think all these women are unique in their own way.
The nurturing side of this, because Joellen wasn't nurtured as a kid, I think, what, people either go two different directions.
They either overcompensate or they don't.
are they so unfamiliar with it, they kind of push it away. And it does now make more sense on why it feels
like Joellen has at least at the beginning been a little bit tougher on the exterior.
But as you said, I really thought we were going to start this season off, watch it and be like,
that Joellen is a wrecking ball of havoc. I don't feel that way at this time. I don't either.
I think she's so cute. I also just feel bad now.
And she's kind of gotten stuck into this storyline where it was her choice.
Let's be clear.
Yeah.
But she's so good at investigating the Rule of Brian scenario that it has become her storyline
throughout.
And she just keeps getting more information.
I know.
It's so good.
So she's kind of what she's like known for at this point is exposing the truth, even when the truth
doesn't feel like it's wanted.
Correct. Yeah, I don't think she's doing anything malicious.
She literally was asked for proof. She got proof.
She should start her own private investigation firm.
I will totally love to work for it. That is a dream of mine.
But, yeah, I really love Joellen.
Really interesting story.
I can't wait to see when her and her mom kind of come together and hash it out in front of the cameras.
So this is a podcast about video games.
Kind of. It's also about friendship. Definitely. And chaos. Unavoidably. Welcome to It's Dangerous to Go Alone. A podcast where we talk games, culture, nostalgia, and immediately go off topic.
There is no gatekeeping. There is no skill check. If you win a game on easy mode, we support you. If you've never touched a controller, honestly, same energy for some of us.
It's fun, it's chaotic, it's friendship with a loose gaming theme. And somehow we keep getting away with it.
You should listen. Stream It's Dangerous to Go Alone on the free IHeart Radio app. Or wherever you get your podcasts.

The Alicia's story I do think we got some clarity on also.
I think her choice of being homeless maybe wasn't the correct way to explain it.
But what happened, it sounds like, is her dad left them.
That obviously hurts.
I don't know how that feels.
I would imagine that is really painful,
especially as you get older and you start asking the questions of,
why and what happened but when the dad left it does sound like it was uh it left alicia and her
family that was you know at the home without maybe an income without a place to stay and so they had to
kind of jump around and search until they could lay on their feet again yeah so were they living on
the street like were they without a home i don't think so no but there was nowhere for her to
playing her feet and feel secure.
Yes.
And so now, to me, that makes more sense.
Yeah.
I think we have, when you hear we were homeless, you think of certain things.
True.
But it does feel like she was displaced.
Her family, I'm sure her mom and was like searching and there's probably a lot of emotion
and fear around what was next.
And luckily, they had some family members that took them in.
Yeah.
But this is like their separation from the group does feel like.
We got a lot of clarity in the two of them.
Yep.
Why they are the way they are.
I thought it was going to be boring because I hate when people separate.
They're like, let's just talk about a little stupid shit.
And I was like, this is so interesting.
It's more interesting than the water slides, kind of.
Yeah, the water slide had its own purpose.
Obviously, that's going on back at the mansion.
It does seem like Rosie and Ashley, the two that love it the most.
They have a lot of scenes going down it.
Their children enjoying themselves.
I was fearful, Lauren, in the preview, it shows Ashley hitting the end of the slide.
It looked very painful.
That never really happened.
The only really big moment from this was that Ashley accredits the tremendous work of laser hair removal to her comfortability on the water slide.
So, hey, she didn't mention the brand and the name and the doctor or whatever it is that does that.
But congratulations to them.
Give me a free session.
I need it.
for helping Ashley know that she was safe, secure, and sound on national television.
I was watching this with Hunter, and he was like, I don't get it.
What does she mean?
I was like, she means that her bathing suit is going to go one way or the other and it's not going to cover everything.
He was a little confused.
We get a lot of vulnerability from Ashley.
And really this whole season, you can think about so many moments where these women are talking about things that are life things,
but that you don't bring up or you hide or you push aside.
I think it's hilarious to see all these women continue to say things that make us go,
that's funny.
Yeah, it's true, but it's funny that you said it.
That's all I would think about going down to waterslide is making sure my boob didn't fall out or hair.
And Ashley is the one that helps us all feel more seen and more known.
Valid.
By her comments.
The other big moment here is Kelsey, I was really kind of.
hoping that Kelsey dove in head first to the slide and just enjoyed it and kind of acted like a kid
again. And you could see that like the giggle come out of her. It doesn't necessarily, at least
it's not shown. Yeah. It's not shown. And also it kind of shows like when they all showed up to
breakfast, all the girls are like disheveled and no makeup in their pajamas. And then Kelsey comes
down freshly dried hair, makeup on.
She's not going to let anyone see her slip, you know?
So going on the water side, she's like, ugh, am I not going to look perfect to everyone?
So that's something else that is kind of a theme of hers.
Yeah, we do get to see it when she brushes her teeth in the morning.
We see all the women kind of waking up, you know, and just kind of like crawling out of bed.
But the big moment in the slide and kind of skipping ahead is that the guys that are there,
help them join them i kind of dazed out on that one i'm like why are we all flirting with this
random guy it it felt misplaced i i wonder you know if they were trying to almost like
temptation island it to see who would be interested yes is exactly what they were doing and
it looks like rosy really rosy just thought he was hot but not you know for herself yeah it felt like
everybody kind of what i imagine a girl's trip being with a bunch of marriage
or coupled up girls.
It felt like that to me where they're like flirting in the way,
but it's like so aggressive flirting,
where you know nothing is going to happen where it's like,
hey, you look good.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
And they're like, thank you.
But there's no nothing past that.
The girls, I do think for a second thought Kelsey might be interested,
but then she says, I'm not going to date a guy 10 years younger.
She would date 20 years older.
That's how I was, yeah, yes.
Yeah, it's more the opposite.
Right? Correct. Yeah. Because she needs someone to take care of her. But then Liz seemed very uncomfortable with it. She was like, I'm not going to be just standing. I'm 56 years old or 54. I don't know how old she is, but I'm not going to stand around Florida with a 21-year-old boy. Like this is so not fun for me, going down watersides and stuff. And is this where they go, where Ashley goes to her room?
Ashley goes to her room there right after Ashley says, well, yeah, he's like, he's cute, but he's not my husband. And then they do the black and white of Jared.
Yes, I love it.
So good. It's so good. He's like perfectly like standing in the silhouette of the sun and his jaw lines popping out.
She's not wrong. She does go to the room. You have a lot of information on this. So I'll let you take it away.
Well, so they were, Ashley thought that Liz was upset. So she snuck up to her room without the cameras like knowing. And Ashley and her having like an actual heart to heart about like filming and how.
how uncomfortable she was.
I don't remember why Liz was uncomfortable,
but I don't think it was because they were flirting with the 20,
whatever year old.
But she just didn't want to talk to the cameras anymore.
And Ashton was like, look, I've been there.
I know this kind of sucks.
And then they figured out that they were talking to each other alone without the cameras.
So then they're like, okay, go, you know,
now continue the conversation.
And that's why it looked so awkward.
I actually just standing there.
She's like, we already said everything and we don't have,
we don't want to talk to the cameras anymore.
So that's why it was like,
like the most awkward conversation for standing there.
It was more of a heart to heart about like just filming and how hard it can be.
So it seemed like they were talking about nothing and Asher just,
I want you to enjoy my company.
Yeah.
Hey, I know you want to get away from the cameras,
but I'm going to step in here so the cameras actually come to us and we talk longer on
camera.
Correct.
Was exactly how it seemed and felt.
Okay.
So you saw that,
but you understand like the production of it all.
So I don't know if all the audience will see it,
but if you go back and watch, it's pretty obvious.
Yeah, it is.
And Ashley said that that moment with them alone,
without the cameras,
was when her and Liz became like actual friends.
Because Liz was like, wow, you really see me right now.
And you care.
You care.
You care enough to check on me and simply check on me.
You're not coming up here with the story
of what just happened downstairs or new drama.
You're here just to be like, hey, are you good?
If you aren't, I'm here.
If not, I'm going to leave.
And then, yeah, the cameras jump in and the two of them are standing there awkwardly staring at each other.
Well, Ashley, I mean, has always been, obviously you talk to her 100 times a day.
Like, she is an easy person to confide into and talk to.
And I would think out of, and I don't know if they're figuring this out yet, but out of all the women in this group, there is a safe space.
Ashley will keep your secrets or your complaints or your just frustrations.
She will keep them to herself if you ask her to.
Totally.
Yes.
She's scared of pissing anyone off so she wouldn't go around just blabbing any kind of insider scoop.
I'm going to get on here sometime and just act like I'm so mad at Ashley.
She would immediately.
She would immediately cry.
We know this.
But she's like, what did I do?
We actually should try that.
Please.
Yeah.
We got to set it up.
Yeah, but come on in. We have a quick thing on Zoom. And then you'd be like, so Ashley, like, I'm really disappointed in you and just see what happens. And then just maybe, yeah, I'm going to pass it off to you and say, hey, I'm so I'm so upset that I don't know if I can get the words out. So I'm going to let Lauren take it from here and just get off. And then this is good. This is mean. We're mean now. Well, I think the show is making me mean, Lauren. I think I'm literally watching. It's rubbing off on you.
And changing as I go.

help make you funnier.
This week, my guest, SNL's Mikey Day
and head writer Streeter Seidel,
help an a cappella band with their between songs banter.
There's the worst singer in the group.
The worst?
Yeah.
Me.
Is there anything to the idea that because you're from
Harvard, you only got in because your parents made a huge donation.
The group.
The yard herds, right?
That's the name.
The Harvard yard, but they're open.
Do you have a name suggestion?
We're open.
Since you guys are middle aged, one erection.

to make me seem funny.
Imagine an Olympics where doping is not only legal, but encouraged.
It's the enhanced games.
Some call it grotesque.
Others say it's unleashing human potential.
Either way, the podcast's Superhuman documented it all,
embedded in the games and with the athletes for a full year.
Within probably 10 days, I'd put on 10 pounds.
I was having trouble stopping the muscle growth.

A win is a win.
I don't care what you're saying.
Yep, that's me,
Clifford Taylor the 4th.
You might have seen the skits,
the reactions, my journey from basketball

or my career in sports media.
Well, somewhere along the way,
this platform became bigger
than I ever imagined.
And now I'm bringing all of that excitement
to my brand new podcast,

This is a place for raw,
unfiltered conversations
with some of your favorite athletes,

One week I'll take you behind the scenes of the biggest moments in sports and entertainment,
and the next we'll talk about life, mental health, purpose, and even music.
The Clifford Show isn't just a podcast, it's a space for honest conversations, stories
that don't always get told, and for people who are chasing something bigger.

We do have a situation with Rula.
Rula is sick.
And according to our sources, she is actually sick.
I know she doesn't look sick because she put the makeup on.
And it feels like she prepped her for her face time.
And true, she probably did.
Yeah.
But she was actually sick during this time.
We don't know with exactly what.
I find it funny.
I watch this and I said, okay,
Brian is agreeing to have the cameras in because, one,
nobody else is there too.
You know,
he's taking care of his wife,
which is such a good look compared to everything else that's been videoed so far.
So it's true.
He's like,
now this will be easy filming day where I look like a good man taking care of my wife.
Do you know anything more about this?
Or did you get any like reads when you watch this of,
for me,
this didn't even need to be shown really.
It was a, hey, Rula is sick.
She can't come.
Yeah, I don't know.
Another part where I was like, this is kind of pointless.
It could have just been like a little blurb between the girls,
but yeah, Rula is sick.
She's not coming.
And that's it.
I don't know, I guess to prove to us that she is home in bed,
or else we'll make up stories of our own,
like the mistress is holding her captive.
True.
Yeah, we probably should have.
That had been a lot of better story.
I mean, goodness, I don't think,
at least from my perspective,
perspective, nobody watching it or even a part of it on the cast, nobody's mad at Rula.
Like, I'm not trying to create a narrative or a story or I'm not even seeing that where I'm
upset with her.
It's more of the, hey, like maybe wake up a little bit.
Would maybe be the thought?
Yeah, 100%.
I mean, it's her choice if she wants to stay with her husband.
So it's like not that we're mad at her for that decision.
and we're mad at Brian
and we want to be there for Rula,
but I'm sure Rula is like,
I don't want to look like an idiot
from these girls.
No.
Even though she's decided to stay.
Yeah.
Hey, what is,
one thing I wanted to ask,
when Ashley and Liz are talking,
she calls her Lammy Liz.
I don't know what that means.
Lammy Liz,
I guess is Liz's like soft side.
It's what you see when you get to know her.
That's her nickname would be Lammy Liz,
like a little lamb.
Okay, so that's been brought up
before. That's her nickname. I didn't know the reference. Yeah, yeah, yeah. It's just like her soft side
that you get to see every once in a while. Okay. The boat? They go on the boat now, right?
They go on the boat during this episode. This Ashley doesn't really make it on the boat because
Dawson is so sick. My poor angel baby. Yeah, how sick was he? He went to the hospital. It was
really sad. They give him a whole bunch of meds and like a inhaler and stuff. And then they give him
steroids and then he i remember that day because it was like they were there for a while and then he got
the steroids and he was hopped up like so back to normal in like an hour and ash's like great
great i laughed and he's totally back to normal an hour but you know it's scary and she has this
really sad picture of him in the hospital that they were going to post but i guess they didn't put it
in an episode but there's no need to see it it's just sad yeah he uh so he was really sick
ashley obviously luck i mean for luckily isn't far from home yeah she gets off the boat
Once you're in Rhode Island, you're pretty close to everything.
Yeah, that's a good point.
But we do see Ashley leave at this point.
She seems very sad, not only to leave, but also very scared for her beloved child, her son in which she's so well pleased.
The boat is, it looks so cold, so uncomfortable.
Dreadful.
Dreadfully cold, but the women are all dressed like it's going to be 90 degrees and sunny.
Well, tequila makes it a little bit warmer, I guess.
And when the tequila starts flowing, we get some confessions where Kelsey and Joellen start talking about mutual love interests.
Yeah.
In college, we used to call that like...
What is it?
Eskimo sisters?
Yeah.
Like there's like a mutual crossing of brothers.
Is that one getting here?
And Joel almost, I think references.
Now, I could be wrong.
When she's asked the question, who is better?
She says, well, Kelsey would know.
So she's also done both brothers.
brothers. Whoa. That's very good. I didn't really, I was like, oh yeah, well, Kelsey
went because she had sex with the good brother. I didn't even put that together.
Okay. That's very unique, isn't it?
Yeah. How do you process that one?
This scandalous, I don't know. That's kind of icky to me. I don't know. Yeah, I think that's
icky. I'm wondering, do the, I mean, the brothers obviously talk to, you know, they,
they communicate with each other
quite often and so they know
I wonder if this was kind of their thing
but Joellen does mention that in her 20s
she you know
yeah would do this
was promiscuous and
the whole story
it's weird to me because when it's set
it is one of those moments
where I'm kind of holding onto the seat going
oh this is going to blow up
how could this be said publicly
in front of other people
in such a way that does not cause a fight.
But it doesn't seem like anybody really gets upset over it.
Yeah, I think it was a time in their lives in their early 20s.
And, like, obviously, I've been there.
My best friend and I have definitely, like, you know, switched people before.
And, like, we laugh about it today because it's, like, so in the past,
we were always drunk and doing stupid stuff.
So it's bound to happen.
So I think it's kind of just, like, fun memories from a woman's standpoint.
Yeah.
Okay, so it felt more like that than it would anything else.
Yeah.
And there is this, I'm seeing more and more of the how Joellen and Kelsey have known each other for a lot longer.
Yeah.
Than, you know, I think I originally thought they did.
Are they the same age?
I don't think so.
Kelsey and Joellen?
No, Joellen is probably closer to Liz's age, right?
I think Joel is probably 40.
Oh, so not much older.
And then Kelsey's 31?
Yeah. Okay. So yeah, wow. So I'm imagining like a high school or like college. So they were different ages. Either way.
The takeaway is that it did not cause a fight. It actually came to some pretty interesting confessionals where like humor is added. And Joellen kind of just laughs it off and they keep going on and on.
Isn't it amazing how just how you literally shared brothers and that's not an issue. But lying about the square footage of your house is.
biggest fight you could ever have.
That's a point.
That's a point.
That's interesting.
Yeah.
Like, Kelsey, come on.
Oh, that's so interesting to me.
We just got confirmed.
Joellen is 38.
Kelsey is 31.
Okay, so not too far.
No, close enough,
especially when you get into your 30s,
everybody's friends at that point.
Back at the mansion,
Lauren, we go following this boat excursion
that isn't shown too much,
probably because the weather was not fantastic.
and there's just not a lot that happen during it.
The butlers are there to greet the women with champagne.
I think the biggest moment here is once the evening rolls in,
we see Joellen standing alone and Liz comes to meet her to check on her.
Joellen says she's upset because she now has the proof to the story that has
snuck its way into every episode so far.
far, the Rula and Brian's scenario where I think Joanne was tasked. This is a scary task.
I don't know if it was actually meant when it was said, but find me proof. And Joel says,
okay. No problem. All right. No problem.
That friend of hers that is also friends with the mistress was working overtime and like what
following her? But like, where are you going to be? Because she's the one who took the video
that they're referring to. And the video is of Brian and the mistress. And,
in somewhere, we don't know, it just says through a glass window, right?
And they are canoodling or embracing a very long hug, hands all over.
So she really had her friend going there and videotaping everything.
And then the proof would be the day in time on the car like GPS screen.
So that's, that's proof.
Has this friend been outed now?
I mean, there's no way.
I'm sure.
I don't know who it is, though.
I haven't seen anything on TikTok in my sleuthing.
But yeah, so Joellen seems to actually be very disturbed by this information.
I think maybe she went in asking her friend for proof, hoping that there would be no proof,
and came with the receipts for sure.
All the ladies join in after a while on kind of what's going on.
None of them want to be the one to confront Rula.
Totally.
I know it has to be Alicia.
She is the bridge between all the first.
friends. She's known Rula the longest. And then they kind of explain that if it came from Liz or
Joellen, it would just be perpetuating like the, I'm just trying to stir shit up narrative if
Joe Allen or Liz or really anyone besides Alicia, because Alicia said last episode during the
poll of match, like, no, like, I really love you, Brian and I love you, Rula. Like, I'm here for you.
So this would just be like an honest person coming forward trying to help.
Okay. What about Ashley? Would Ashley have fallen into this?
at all. I think if Ashley went to Rula and said that, I don't think Rula would take it,
I think she would take it seriously, but she'd like, you don't really know the lore as well as
these other girls do. So I'm not going to take it from you. That would be, that would be bad,
but that would be amazing television to see how awkward Ashley would be telling her that information.
She'd definitely be the sweetest, but it does, Alicia is sweet also. She just sometimes says things
that make you go, huh? And Liz was so annoyed at Alicia.
this week. Did you see that?
Snap on her like three times.
Yeah, it was almost like
being around Alicia too much
finally broke Liz.
Yeah.
Alicia's the friend that you love to see.
You know, it's going to be a good time.
We're like, can we just have a conversation,
please, without like all the little
nini, me, me, me, me, like all the little blurbs
that don't really make sense, but that are funny.
Yeah, like my therapist told me,
I hold the energy of so many people
or something.
We're like, what does that, like, what do you mean?
I know.
And then the Liz was like, yeah, me too.
Like, okay.
So this will be a very interesting conversation.
I think this whole episode felt so, remember last week, I was like, oh, so angsty about
the episode because it felt heavy.
It felt awkward.
It felt unhealthy.
This episode did not to me.
It felt very much like episodes like one through five where it,
It was funny, fun.
There was some funny stuff being said.
And then a little bit of drama to mix in with the whole story that goes on.
The drama doesn't really come, I mean, till the very end of the show.
And that cliffhanger passes us off into the next episode, which we'll be talking about next week.
But we still see the previews for the rest of the season, Lauren.
And they feel wild.
Like the craziest is yet to come.
I know, I know.
we have to Alicia goes and tells Rula
and I'm assuming Rula doesn't do anything
with information which is kind of upsetting
but I'd also love to see
the actual videos
of Brian and the mistress for like the public to see
but I know that's like we can't see that but that'd be great
and then next week we I think is the big fight with Kelsey
and Rosie
I have a little scoop on that,
but I think we should save it until next week
when we see it all go down.
And then what else do we have?
The whole thing looks crazy.
Oh, a menopause dummy.
Yeah, a great idea.
I don't know what they do.
I don't know what the ingredients are that help.
But we have close friends
in our podcast family here
who are currently going through it.
And let me tell you,
I think they would take anything
that would make them feel better at this point.
Yeah.
I know that there's lots of scientific advances with menopause,
and apparently, like, we don't even have to go through it.
So I'm interested to learn about this, and I hope that it actually does something.
But Dolores and Liz, kind of that power team.
Those little twins.
Those little twins.
Whenever someone talks to me about Rhode Island, they're like,
how are Dolores and Liz a different person?
How do two people look so similar and they're not related in the slightest?
Same surgeon, they say.
I know, but still.
It's crazy.
As Lauren has hinted, next week, we're going to break down what seems to be.
I guess, Lauren, you do know enough information.
We will save it to next week.
But do you believe that this encounter between Rosie and Kelsey is going to be as dramatic
and shocking as what the preview showed?
I think it's going to be way more dramatic.
Because once you see what Kelsey does to piss off Rosie like that, it's going to be much more juicy than you think.
And I don't think they ever, I know.
I don't think they will ever, ever come back from what happens.
And as we can see in the public today with all the podcasts going on,
all the things that Kelsey's doing and talking to,
she is so pissed in doing so many low blows at Rosie,
like for her fashion choices and her relationship and her just like her overall being.
I don't understand.
So we'll see next week.
I hope that you think it's as dramatic as I think.
it is. And I hope they show it as dramatic as Ashley told me it was. If it's even close,
yeah, it will be good. I just, you know, the bachelor is known for this where they have this
like tease for the season and then it actually happens. You're like, that wasn't anything.
Colton jumping over the fence is the biggest one. Yeah, like they teased and then it happened.
We're like, that's like shocked the world. They're like, wait, actually a tease. I know. Works.
But I was just kind of, I've always been in that mindset of how much.
should I put into the preview for the season because it oftentimes is it kind of falls short
of expectations. But if you're telling us, Lauren, right here, right now, on the almost famous
podcast that you believe it could be as juicy as what we saw. Yeah. On the preview, then I know all
of us are going to be on the edge of our seats to watch this happen. Absolutely. I think it is. And yet again,
I don't think it's going to look good for Kelsey,
but that may be my bias again,
but I really don't think anyone could agree with what Kelsey does.
We have so much to talk about next week,
right here breaking down the Real Housewives of Rhode Island,
episode eight of this season.
It's been a wild ride.
We're flying through this, Lauren.
My gosh.
Okay.
Flying through this.
The cool part is,
as soon as we get announced that Ashley will be back for season two,
then you and I will be right back.
here breaking it down once again.
I mean, think about this.
Like, let's keep this going for 10 years.
It's insane.
Yeah, it's insane.
Okay.
Hey, it's been a lot of fun.
The season continues to pick up steam.
As Lauren mentioned, next week's episode feels like a climatic point in the season, one,
that none of us want to miss.
So watch the episode and then come right here.
and listen to the breakdown, a little bit of the behind the scenes,
any investigation into our sources on what actually happened and didn't happen.
We'll be talking about right here on the Almost Famous Podcast.
