Dealbreakers
00:02Hi, it's Hannah Burner. And Des Bishop. Thanks for calling the Burner Phone. If you leave a message after the tone, we may have to make it into a podcast. All right.Hello, our little dial is, and welcome back to Burner Phone.Nicole's back. You were missed Nicole.
00:24Let me tell you.Wow.Thanks.It means a lot.Are you aware of, about Prompt Gate, a Misophonia Gate? What happened?Do you know about the drama? What's the drama?
00:37The drama is, you abandoned me last week. And now, you were moving, which is totally understandable. And so I did the pod on my own.And it all went great as far as I was concerned. But out of laziness, I used the, you know, the way on Riverside, there's a button that you can like level, you know, like, it putseverything to the same level. You know what I mean?So I clicked that button.
01:10I didn't listen through the ep, though.I just clicked the button, and I just checked a couple of spots, and I was like, oh yeah, that all sounds good. But what I didn't realize was it automatically leveled up my micfor when the prompts were playing. And, of course, while the prompts were playing,I was like taking drinks and, you know,
01:31just like gathering my thoughts. But it was like, it was amplification.those noises because obviously it's trying to match the minimal amount of noise that's coming out of the mic is trying to match but unfortunately the dialers think that i'm just really loud drinker which is literally as they know my my fucking nightmare the other problem is that the one flaw in riverside which is the platform that we use to record the one flaw is you can't hear your own mic through the headphones like i can't hear my mic you can't hear my mic you can't hear youryours, right? No, what you would have to do is like, if you had a mic like this, you'd have to run theheadphones through the mic. Through the mic. Yes. So it's just like an extra step. Yes, which I'mgoing to have to start doing. Anyway, I had no idea. So they were really like exaggerate. Like everynoise was like really loud, like way louder than actual in situ because the AI, I guess it's AI, right?I guess they're using AI, right? It's just like, you know, anyway, long story short, I apologize to the dialer.
02:36and so you were missed more than you think, Nicole.Yeah, I know you have a lot of misophonia comrades out there,so I try to cut them out as much as humanly possible. So don't worry, they'll be cut out again. But also because I don't know, because I've never uploaded to the new systemon the platform that actually puts our podcast up,I could have redid it
03:05and put it up, but I didn't want to screw that up.So it's still up as it is.So sorry about that.Sorry about that, everybody. Also, you moved.Hannah and I also moved, but we moved from one furniture apartment to another. But the new apartment, the Wi-Fi is poor.So I also apologize if you're starting to get warnings that my connection is bad.
03:30Anyway, here we are, everybody.it's the deal breakers episodedialer messaged inusing deal breakers as a potential thingwhich I think is a good topic howeverthe other big controversy from last week Nicolea lot went down while you weren't hereit's very active
03:49the other big controversy wasI had a publicI had a weak moment on the podwhere there wasbecause it was like weird things people say during grieflike, you know, crazy bits of grief humor, stuff like that. And there was one that was, it was pretty dark. And I was going to play it.
04:10And then I decided not to.But because I just didn't, I didn't edit out that,I actually thought me having this crisis of confidence in the moment was actually pretty interesting. So I left that in also. But there was a unanimous feedback that they wanted to hear it.So because everybody was like, play the dark one.I'm going to open up with the dark one, but just so you know, this is because the dialers said they wanted it.And at the end of the day, it's just a joke related to grief.
04:42But this was the one that I thought was the darkest. But we're opening with it as per the dialer's request. So go ahead, Nicole. All right. Here's one, like a little quick story about, like, death funeral planning. So really, really sad.My little husband was in a house buyer, he burned to death. But when my cousin and sister and her mom were, like, standing his funeral, my cousin asked if they could have a discount off of his, the cremation because she was already burned so much.
05:29So they were if they could have a discount on the top of the cremation.I just think that's hilarious.Fucked up.I know.I know, but also hilarious.Because if you're not laughing, you're crying.Okay, bye.Yes, and that was the theme, basically, if you're not laughing, you're crying.
05:50And, I mean, listen, it is what it is.You know, I think you can see why I bailed out of it, though. What do you think, the girl?Totally, totally.Sounds like it was a little kid.Yeah.brutal, brutal situation.Yeah.
06:04But, you know, they were using humor. They were using humor to deal with it.You know, a tough situation. So anyway, that was last week's episode. And here we are with this week.I never asked, you've had your big move. How's it all gone?Because, you know, everyone's been following the drama.
06:23It's not really done, to be honest.Like, I'm physically in my new apartment and most of our stuff is here. But we still have a lot of shit in the old apartment.and Chris is currently on tour.So I'm driving this giant van today to get the rest of our stuff out.And we have to get it out today because we've given ourselves a deadline of having the apartment walk through tomorrow. The reason we even are doing this randomly in the middle of the month is because the building's being sold to like a new person that we don't have a good relationship with.Right.
07:00we want our security deposit back.So we have to like get everything out as quickly as possible.Oh, so you want to,you, you want to deal with the old landlord.Yes.So I,and she already told us like,
07:10I'll give you the whole thing back.No worries. So we're,we're really busting our ass to,to do it.But Chris is gone.So I'm by myself doing it and lugging these boxes out.Suddenly my friends are nowhere to be found.
07:25Wow.Friends that are like, yeah, when you need help moving, hit me up.No worries.gone. What about all these comics? What about all the comics that worked for that moving company? They're useless. They're useless. I don't want my objects destroyed.
07:39You know what happened? All those comics that worked for that company, they've all done too wellthe last couple of years. I don't think they're probably none of them are working there anymore. We should blame them all right now.Because there was like a whole gang of them that were working for that company.I think there's still a few, but based on the stories I've heard, I'm like,As much as I would love to pay comics to do it rather than, like, anyone else, I just have to finish this last bit myself. And the stories I've heard of them, like, breaking shit.I'm like, I can't.
08:10We have a great, we have a great guy, very, like, reasonably priced guy.I wish you had said. You can't be worrying about it.Why are you getting a van? What the hell is going on?What in the tool belt lesbian is going on here, Nicole? Can you just fucking hire?As a reminder to all, I'm for.
08:304-11. I'm driving a giant U-Haul van by myself and I'm scared and I have to bring all these boxesout by myself. And Chris has texted me like, you're amazing. Love you. And then he's like eating acorn dog with his band. I'm like, dude, come on. Hell. Come on. You're living the stereotypemusician girlfriend situation. Not around. God, I wish I'd known. As a as a thank you for allyour hard work, I would have, I would have bought you a present of a mover. Come on.Well, this is the problem. We had movers over the weekend. We just weren't, all of our shitwasn't packed in time because we signed our lease and had to move out in like a week. So we got, they brought all the big stuff like bed, furniture, heavy desks, all that stuff, a bunch of
09:19boxes, but we still have like shit over there that wasn't packed in time because we just,we didn't have enough time. But it was like an emergency move. It's just like,Like a mafia movie. It's like, honey, we got it, we gotta go.Like, you had to go so fast.It does.It kind of felt like I am legend in a way because I was just like, okay, what's myfavorite pair of sneakers?
09:40What do I need to live with?I'd have one Tupperware, like just trying to get the essentials out first. Also, funnily enough, this, the person who used to own this building, I'm pretty surelike my old apartment was in the mob.He has now passed.Right.And his wife is the owner who is now selling it.but this building has a past.
10:01Right.Get out.Well, you're out now.I am out,but I have to get the rest of my stuff so I have money. And now it's like I have to get all that stuff out,but also the apartment is disgusting.Like the amount of stuff that's like under the couch or like stuff you haven't seen in years
10:18that I'm like, hmm, guess I probably should have lifted the couch to clean it at some point. So are you getting like a cleaner in the morning or anything? Are you getting somebody to do like a once over?I don't think I have time.Right.But you probably don't have to shame to leave it's so dirty.Sorry, they're going to get somebody anyway.
10:36It doesn't matter. They're getting, you know, new owners are coming. Not your problem.Get out of there. You deserve it.You had to evacuate like a fucking tornado was coming. So do you serve of favor. But also it's like this apartment is now full.
10:51So how do we still have shit at the other place? It makes no sense to me.We have so much shit. But this is the time.you've got to do a ruthless call. You haven't done a ruthless call.I've been trying to call, but I don't have time to call any further.I'm at the point where it's like throw it on boxes,
11:07move it here, just get out, and then call part two.Yeah, because the call is essential.Anyway, here we are. We're getting this episode in because Hannah and I are heading to Singapore tonight. We're literally leaving this evening to go to Singapore.I'm doing shows in Singapore in Hong Kong.Hannah's coming with me.when you're listening to this, everybody,
11:29I'll probably be on stage in Singapore based on the time difference.I mean, I'll be close enough to being on stage in Singapore. And then we're going to Vietnam in between before my show in Hong Kong, and then Hannah's coming home, and I'm going to Australia, might. So anyway, this is an exciting time. This is the last time that Burnaphone will be recorded entirely in the United States for a month. For a month. We're going to have some scheduling.
11:56fun then. You better be settled and moved in next week. It's going to be dealing with timedifferences. Anyway, everybody, not the prompt, but send in your best jet lag solutions. I've nevermanaged to over. Jetleg is my absolute enemy. I have the, I fully succumb to jet lag in every way.Hannah doesn't. Hannah's got like, because Hannah can just sleep for so long. She just naturallydoesn't get as affected by Jetlag. So I should have had the bloody prompt for this week, and I didn't.Should we go back to our list?I feel like I've so many lined up now.
12:36I'm so annoying.Do you have our list?Because I was like, recently I was like, wow, I've got so many in the can.And now, of course, I, I, I, oh, what about traditionally, ugly things that you find attractive. What do you think about that?Things?Well, you know, like about people.
13:03You know, like things that are traditionally ugly, like traits.Okay, if you don't like, you don't like it.You don't like it.Go to our list.Go to our list. The list is in a box somewhere in this room.Oh my God, you gotta be fucking, you wrote it down? What is this, 1990?
13:17Yes.What the fuck?God damn it.It's my fault.I'll find it after this.Oh, shit.splice it in.There's been so many good suggestions lately.
13:29I'm trying to remember. It's all right. It's my fault. One of the other ones was the most unhinged thing you've seen at a wedding. No, didn't we do that? No, we just did wedding traditions that need to end.But then one of them was unhinged thing you've seen in a wedding.Oh, emergency room.
13:46One of them was emergency room related.Oh, yeah.Oh, that's right.Yeah.Yeah, I feel like we had other ones.Anyway, it's not, it's not important.Let's just do like, no, let's, I'll tell you what, follow my Instagram at I will post the prompt. We're not organized.
14:03Everything's falling apart here on Burnifone.Oh, by the way, also, the pod is going to change, the name is changing to dial up des or dial up desi.We haven't decided on the des or the desi, just so you know.Okay.What feels more true to you?Well, dial up desi is funner, you know? But dial up des, des, I don't know, I think.I don't know what the, what's the final, there's no more decision on the name other than between Des and Desi, everybody.
14:31So message in and will, you guys can decide. But let's get into, let's get into deal breakers here. It's a deal breakers episode.I said on last week's pod that smoking was always a deal breaker for me because I just, I hate the smell of it.So do you have a deal breaker, Nicole?in like a relationship.Well, yeah, I think that was the vibe.I think I have a few.
15:00I mean, smoking is definitely in there for sure.I'm sure this is going to come up because this is such a big one, being cruel to wait staff or like a server.Yeah, I think that is in there.Yeah, that's, I hate that.Or any type of customer service person.Yeah, that comes up a lot. That's a good deal breaker.
15:23It just shows, you know, even like when people tell a story about being an asshole, it puts me off.Do you know?Like not even seeing it live.Anyway, let's take one.Dealers choice, Nicole, dealer's choice.Hey, Desiard's choice.Okay, so I'm calling in about the niche X or no, niche deal breakers.Okay, so the reason I said X is because if people are afraid of horses,
15:53Uh, that's an ick slash deal breaker for me.And, um, you know, of course, sensitive to any accidents that may have happened with horses. That's a fair pass.Uh, also, uh, again, not like shaming anyone here, but, uh, Venmo requests down to the scent.Uh, just round up or down to the dollar.Thank you. That is a good one.The second one is a good one.
16:21Wow. That's just funny in general. I mean, I guess some people cut and paste. So maybe that'sunderstandable, but that's a, that's a good one. I don't think I've ever. The Venmo really struck me, especially a crazy late Venmo also really, like, what is the Venmoetiquette. How fast should you pay somebody back? Does it depend or like, or what? Because if someone'staking more than a week, that feels crazy to me. Unless you openly communicate like, hey, I'm alittle short. I need some time. Totally. Yeah. I mean, that understandable, I guess like in general, most of my Venmo situations happen like right there. What's your Venmo bang? There you go. I guess likesometimes if I get somebody to like film my set, you know, maybe I might wait for the
17:19footage to arrive, but then I always do it like straight away. Venmo though, you know?Like when you get invoice, like even when you send an invoice, like I kind of like, I have badetiquette which is like, I don't have a good workflow with my incomings and outgoings, but for some reason I have an immediacy with Venmo.do you know what I mean?Yeah.Yeah, typically like with Venmo I'm doingLike if me and my friends go out to dinner
17:50Or that kind of stuffUtilities in the homeThat sort of thingBut yeah, I think any longer than a weekIs offensiveOffensiveIf it's someone you're like friends withYeah
18:04A hundred percentEspecially if it's something likeLook, I'll get it, you can Venmo me laterAnd then like time passesBecause then they've like forgottenAnd then it's understandable sometimes people forget. The problem is that when you forget, not only is it annoying that the person's waiting for the money,
18:19but what's even worse for me is like having to follow up and remind, that's like suddenly you feel like the asshole.Even though they're actually being the asshole, you feel like a cheap fuck being like,yo, don't forget you owe me 50 bucks.Even though they've either forgotten or they're trying to fucking hope you forget. You know what I mean?Well, that's the beauty of the Venmo reminder feature where you can send a reminder.
18:44But if they ignore the reminder, that's where it gets crazy.Oh, well, then then you got to let them go.You have to cut them out of your life. You've got to cut them out of your life, man. That's like Venmo should have a feature, which is like two reminders. And then the third one is our friendship is over. The price of your friendship was $50.Thank you.
19:09And it's a forceful charge to their bank account.Send them a receipt. It's like our friendship, $50.You can write that off against your tax now.Amazing.I had a, like, I don't know why.Oh, you know what it is?I, like, I had, oh, so I, I've been using, like, a feature, right?
19:32So, you know, because, like, because now I'm, like, doing more shows.I'm selling more tickets.it's like it makes it's financially viable to hire somebody to open for me rather than just usingsomebody from the venue right so obviously then you're paying them but you're not just paying themyou look after their flight and stuff so I'm like I'm saying I'm turning over a new leaf I got uh quicktools right you know quick the the quick tools is like the you know the accountancy app I'm likeI'm fucking getting I'm putting it all in straight away you know and that lasted for like two daysOh, come on.
20:10I have quick books and it rules.Yeah, I know. It's definitely like a really good entry level.Like, let me actually keep my shit organized.Yes, that's what I was, I really, because I've never been.I'm like a receipt in the shoebox guy, you know?Do you have an accountant or something?I do, I do.
20:29And they look after all that. But at the same time, like, but at the same time, like, I, even the accountant, they do anamazing job, but like I think I could make, one, make their job easier, but two, I think I'mprobably leaving a lot of expenses on the table in terms of like, I'm not paying all my, this is,I'm sorry, guys, this is burn a phone, burn a phone, burn it for own business, brought to you byQuick Tools. Quick Tools, by the way, not a spot. You don't have to cover your mouth on yourlaughing, Nicole. It's okay to laugh. But anyway, uh, uh, we're not sponsored by QuickTools.but Quick Tools are getting a little ads.
21:08Burn a phone business moment.Have a business moment here on Burn a phone.Want to organize it?So I, because I'm like not good at like paying all my business expenses off the one card.I particularly like with Venmo, you know?So like I just like I would rather at least just particularly in the case of like I'm now paying acts. You know, I need to make sure that that money comes out and they don't think.like it was just, because I did actually, I did use Venmo actually, that it wasn't just Venmo for,
21:43you know, something that I'm not able to write off.So anyway, that's, we've really gotten into it.The second part of this prompt is the horse thing, which is, it's very niche.I want to, obviously, you're a horse person, but I just can't see this coming up a lot in,on the coasts.A little bit.I mean, I think that I am generally put off if somebody is like, regardless of their experience, which is like kind of judgmental on my part, but I'm kind of put off when someone is afraid of certain animals.
22:20Bugs, we're all afraid of bugs.No worries about that. But a horse is a beautiful, beautiful animal.Yeah.That's a very strange thing.I mean, I guess what? Some people have like a horse might kick me in the head phobia or something.I guess.
22:33Horse might kick me in the head phobia is very common.common. I mean, like, what about dogs? Like, does this person live in Montana? I feel like just likea Taylor Sheridan. Like, where are you living that the horse thing comes up a lot? But I thinkyou're a horse person, which is awesome. I once dated a, I dated a horse girl for a long time.My other long relationship other than Hannah. And you're always kind of the second most importantperson in that you're the second most important mammal in their life. The horse people are verypassionate about their beasts, you know?Yeah, they have an amazing relationship, humans and horses.
23:12But it's a beautiful thing. And even actually, not to bring it back to East of Eden, but Samuel Hamilton, who islargely, you know, kind of ignored in the show, Samuel Hamilton talks about, you know, having the horse for a long time.It is like a beautiful thing. You know, it's a long relationship, 36 years or something. But anyway, we hope that when you meet somebody, they love horses. That would suck if you meet the man of your dreams.
23:42And he's like, just one thing.I got kicked in the head as a child by a Shetland pony. And I can't be around.Well, she did excuse that if you had some type of incident with a horse. That could be excused. Is it called like equifo? Is it equinophobia? It might be.
24:02What's the phobia of horses?Let's get into it.I've had a real, I've had numerous people suggest this guy on Instagram. That's an etymologist. But he has like 2 million followers.I just can't see him needing to do burniphone.I mean, of course I would love to get him on.But what is a fear of horses?
24:21It is a quinophobia or hippophobia.Hippophobia.Is intense and irrational fear of horses, ponies, donkeys, or mules.Interesting.Sufferers feel high levels of panic, anxiety, and physical distress, even when the animal is calm, safe, or far away.Wow.The only thing I really hate, the only animal I really hate, but I've gotten better with it is wasps. That's understandable.
24:50I think insects are off the table.Yeah, insects are off the table.Nothing else.Honestly, I like rats, but we've talked about that before. This is a rat positive pod.Yeah, that's right. It's rat positive. All right.
25:02What else?Do we do something else or were you about to say something?I was just going to say that I think it would be a deal breaker for meif the person didn't like dogs for sure.Oh, yeah.Because that's like a red flag.Yeah.I mean, you know, honestly, people that don't like animals in general,
25:24but yeah, if you don't like dogs, but, you know, Hannah,Hannah's not like a huge, which she kind of is a dog person, but she hadn't been a dog person. The problem in Hannah is that she, if we were ever getting a dog, she wants like a chihuahua. She wants a hairy chihuahua. She loves hairy chihuahuas. But you fostered pits?We fostered pits.
25:44We fostered street dogs from the Caribbean, you know. But anyway, she, she won't, we actually, we, we, we helped a chihuahua rescue. We went and helped them transport, like, four, you.Chihuahuas from Puerto Rico. And we also brought back a puppy and a kitten from Puerto Rico for the shelter, not for us.We actually brought it on the flight. But anyway, we're good people.Like, whatever.
26:17Like, I always think, I love doing, like, fostering and stuff.Like, we're not doing it at the moment. But, like, it's selfish almost.Like, I'm getting satisfaction out of that.People are like, oh, it's so great what you do.for the animals like, no, not really.I feel like they're, they're,they're helping me, right?
26:38You know what I mean? It's like, I feel like, I feel like, mutually beneficial relationship.Yes, but I don't, I don't consider that to be like actually charitable work.I get too much out of it.You know what I mean? There's zero sacrifice from me.There's only joy.
26:54There's some sacrifice.There's like your time, your space.I know, but I'm,but I'm fostering, though.It's not even like a long-term commitment.Yeah.You know?Yeah.
27:07Anyway, let's not get bogged down to that because we got so many deal breakers to go through.Today's episode is sponsored by the ASPCA Pet Health Insurance Program. If you've ever found yourself awake at 2 a.m. phone and hand, googling things like,is this normal for dogs or do I need to call the vet right now? You're not alone. Those unexpected moments are part of having a pet, which is exactly why ASP's,P.C. 29:36World Mental Health Day takes place in October, making it a meaningful time to reflect on the importanceof prioritizing mental health. And you know we love Rula here on Burnaphone.Honestly, there's a lot of days, different things, but one of, I think, the more important ones is World Mental Health Day,just to remind people that their mental healthis just a part of their overall health and really important.
30:00The thing about World Mental Health,Health Day is the goal is not just to talk about mental health, it's to actually take actionand get people real help. But when you try to do that, it's still way harder than it should be.A lot of online therapy platforms don't accept insurance at all, which means even during a monthfocused on mental health, you're stuck paying out of pocket or signing up for an expensivemonthly subscription. Rula does things differently. They partner with over 120 insurance plans, making the average co-pay just $15 per session. That's real therapy from licensed professionalsat a price that actually makes sense.
30:31And Rula sticks with you throughout the journeychecking in to make sure your careis actually helping you move forward.World Mental Health Day is your reminderto finally take that step. This is one of the easiest ways to actually follow through. No waitless, no frustrating back and forth.Appointments can be available as soon as tomorrow.
30:47Go to Rula.com slash burn to get started today. That's Rula.orgla.com slash burnfor quality therapy that's covered by insurance.Rula is committed to supporting youand staying with you every step of the wayon your mental health journey from finding the right therapist to helping your scheduleappointments and monitoring your progress.Rula is there to help.
31:05Siempre with World Mental Health Day this October. It's a good reminder that taking care of your mental health can start with one step.Visit rula.com slash burn to get started. That's RULA.com slash burn. You deserve mental health care that works with you, not against your budget.Hi, Des and Nicole. One of my weird deal breakers, I think a very common one is bad teeth. But to make mine niche for bad teeth, I don't care if people have crooked teeth.
31:33It doesn't bother me at all.In fact, my boyfriend of a few years, I would say his teeth are pretty crooked. But teeth gaps.I cannot do gaps in the teeth.I find it, I don't know.I used to have a tooth gap pretty bad before I had braces. And I think that's why I hated so much. But, like, I have found guys that I think would have been perfect for me, like, when I was younger.
31:56and if they have a tooth gap, I just, I stare at it.I stare at it. I stare at it.And I hate it so much. And it's a huge deal breaker for me.But again, it's not crooked teeth or bad teeth. That doesn't bother me in the slightest, not one bit.But the tooth gap, it just irks me so much.Thank you.
32:15Love you guys.Calling from Canada.Hope this makes it to the pod.Wow, teeth cap.I actually, I don't mind a teeth cap at all.You know, but that's it.That's a deal breaker.But so here's my thing about if a tooth,
32:29if you meet a guy and he's amazing, but he has a tooth cap,you can be like, hey, listen,I think this could be a great relationship, but I'm going to require one thing. You're going to have to do Invisaline.
32:40You've got to close that gap.Yeah.Close the gap and we're good, you know?Like, the only thing between me and you is that gap.The space between the gap.Yeah, yeah,
32:53no pun intended.I mean, hey, listen, that's your thing. And you admitted it. It probably goes back to your ownissues around your gap. And you dealt with your gap. You know?Totally. It doesn't bother me. I actually think a gap is so cute. I love the gap.Yeah, I like the gap. And I know a lot of people who get braces are invisibleine and theychoose to leave the gap, but they fix, you know, kind of straighten everything else outbecause the gap is such like a part of their identity and character. And I think that's cute.
33:24but I will say she did make me laugh when she was like,I stare at it and I stare at it and I stare at itbecause I definitely, I relate to that on some other things for sure.Nothing's a deal breaker for me really, but like if somebody has like a dead tooth or somethingthat they haven't dealt with, I can find that.Like it would be hard for me not to be like, hey, like, can we deal with the dead tooth situation?
33:50How does one deal with it exactly?Like what do you have to do about a dead tooth? You got to go to the fucking dentist and get cosmetic surgery. You know?Like you get a little veneer?Yeah, you got to do something.I don't know.I'm not a dentist, but I know I know you can deal with it.
34:06That's one thing I know for sure. It's like it can be dealt with. You know, and I'm shocked that people don't deal with it.But I'm also like, I'm not trying to shame anybody with bad teeth. But at the end of the day, it's a deal breaker episode. You're entering into an arrangement here, which is like we're going to hear the thing.the things that people don't like, we're not going to get offended. But if you're offended, that's okay too.
34:29All right, let's take another.Hey, Des, hey Nicole. So I'm calling in about to speak prompt, your niche deal breakers. And like originally I feel likea lot of people probably have problems withlike how people at restaurants take trade servers. And I was thinking more of like specifically,
34:52the big thing that happened. And when the server comes over to take your order, and before you can even try to order or talk, this is male-female, like, the guy you're with as a woman, like, he quick-p. He orders before you instead of being, like, letting you order first.I feel like, I don't know, it's been bothering me lately with someone I'm dating.I'm just curious on y'all's take because it's not necessarily a deal breaker, but it is like, you know, he's very polite in other aspects, but a lot of the time he doesn't let me go firstwhen you're ordering, and like, it kind of bothers me, and I don't know.I'm being silly for that or not, but that's mine for this week.I did also want to add that, I can't remember, like, a.
35:47a few pods ago, somebody was talking about, they think that Nicole hastall energy, and I thought the same thing.I pictured her as, like,a tall, like,
35:59dark-haired brunette for whatever reason.And I went to on Instagram,and I feel like she was,like,from what I remember,like,lighter hair and, like,very short.
36:08Nicole,you're beautiful.And it's not like,you know,you listen to somebody on the radioand you're just,like,have the picture,
36:15and you're disappointed.I wasn't disappointed.Just,The difference is what I expected.You definitely give tall energy.I hope you guys.Bye.What?
36:26Nicole, you're beautiful.Okay, girl, I really needed that today. That's so weird that like multiple people are like, you give tall brunette.I am going to die my hair brunette, I think. It's calling me.Yeah, it's interesting, too, though, the way people put an image to the,
36:47a voice. But the thing is that you have a strong, confident voice when you're speaking. So it's likepeople just put put a, put a, put a, put a, put a, put a, a, a, a, a, a, a stature to your voice.Stature is so funny. I don't think I've ever, like, pictured someone's height when I'mlistening to them. But I would definitely be surprised to see them in person. Yeah. There's beenso many people that I've been, like, really surprised. Like Michael Barbarrow.from the Daily surprised me.Ira Glass surprised me.I'm trying to think of what other voices.
37:27Oh, there's this podcast that I listen to called Lockdown Metz.Ryan Finkelstein is the guy that, yeah, yeah, I think he's Ryan Finkelstein.Anyway, he surprised me.And do you know what's funny?Even though I've seen him numerous times,I still always revert back to the face.like I actually refer
37:48back to my original face for himsometimes, you know?So anywaySo this one is an interesting onebecause it's tied, it's a very complicatedconundrum because you have this thingof I always let the woman order first, right?Or at least give the opportunity.
38:12But what's that coming from? That's coming from old school, fucking etiquette, right?Which I'm more than happy to continue. But at the same time, well, what do you think more importantly?I think it's, by the way, I just want to say,I think it's weird that he orders first.
38:30I do think it's weird. My own personal situation is differentbecause my boyfriend works in a restaurant. So he's very like,we got to order everything all at onceso they can course it outand make it easier for the serverbecause he is a server.
38:44So we'll come up with our plan together.and then I make him be in charge of saying everything. But if we were just ordering our own thing, he would let me order first, and I think it would be crazy if he ordered first. It's like, damn, how hungry are you?Like, you can't just take two seconds to let me ask for my drink. Some servers will even go out of their way to ask the lady first.Yeah, that's what I think.
39:06And I would never order. But how would you bring this up with a guy?Yeah. If you're like, hey, it bothers me, you don't let me order it.Like, then you come up as crazy.Yeah, exactly.it's not a win-winyou know what you do
39:18you just tell themto listen to Burnaphoneyou put this episodeon in the car togetherI alwayslet the woman order forbut you know whatsometimes because like Hannah
39:32like it used to happen morebut likesometimes Hannah would likesay my orderto the serverand that actually used to fucking bug meand I think she was like deliberatelyyou know some
39:42she would like do thatand for the gentlemanshe would just say itand then I'd be likeyou know that 30% of the timeI changed my mindbetween what you orderand like you know
39:53because like I had to do that one timeI was like actually noI'm not going to get thatyou know likeso I don'tI always let the woman order firstbut I definitely don't needanybody ordering for me
40:01I'm aware that thecommon trope is the manbeing like and the lady will haveand we hate thatwe've discussed that on the pod beforebecause we discussed it with that guyremember I was telling youI went to the theater show
40:13we could hear the guynext and he was like, and the lady will have. We don't, we hate that, but I also don't want peopleordering for me, you know? I find it very weird. But there's loads of weird, like, sexist, traditional stuff. Like, Hannah and I were married, right? Our finances are intertwined. Like, either of us pay for the bill. It's irrelevant. But I'd say 95% of the time, even when it'sHannah's card, when it comes back to pay, if it's not like a tap, they put it in front of me.Mm-hmm.
40:48That is definitely still a thing. For sure. You know?Which, you know, I don't know how long that takes to go.But you guys aren't married yet, right? No.And we don't have like a shared bank account. So we're like kind of taking turns, putting down cards, or even sometimes we're like, do we just split it?
41:12Which is kind of crazy.Split it?We've been dating for like eight years.split it what you're gonna venmo each other while you're fucking while you're fuckingwhere's my hey you haven't venmoed me back yet by the way no you're not allowed to comeuntil you hit my request back no we we put uh we'll just put two cards down and be like justsplit it down the middle is that crazy that's crazy it does feel weird because it feels likeyou're like out to eat with your friend but we don't have like a shared bank account we're
41:45both like artists bawling on a budget type shit.Yes.So,you know,we'll go back and forth either I got it,you got it,or we'll just splitzies if we're both feeling the hurt financially.Yeah.
42:01That's fun.Yeah.It's crazy.Like we've been together too long to be splitting.You're living together.It's like,wait a minute.I wasn't drinking,
42:10so.And I didn't have any of the appetite.I feel like in marriage or in couples therapy, like a couple that says we split the bill, they're like, you know, 70% of relationships that do that don't last.Because you know what it is.We're not like counting the pennies and being like you owe me 2579 for that.Like we're just throwing down two cards, split it down the middle.I get it.
42:40I'm joking. But it's kind of one of those things that's like, why are you splitting?Like just in case you break up, you don't want to.You don't want to be on the bad side of the profit and loss column of the amount of money that you spent. The profit and loss of our relationship.Yeah, you need a quick book for your relationship.Yeah, truly. They need a section of quickbooks as like, who's spending more money in your relationship?
43:05You know?Well, I'll tell you one thing.Somebody who's on the road right now is paying for the next couple of dinners since he fucking left you to look after everything.Well, yeah, maybe.I will see.We don't want to get Chris in trouble, by the way. We're just joking here.Yeah, but I feel like we'd kind of take turns with like, okay, who's career can supplement
43:28our lifestyle at this time.Right.Who's on a hot streak right now?Which is kind of mine, TBH, but whatever. But he's the Yoss Queen, but he's out on the road. This podcast is pro, the woman.making more money.Let me tell you that right now.
43:45Totally.Totally.MSG, very exciting. We were on the Bishop Exchange.John was late, but he said to start, so me and Brad were starting. And I was telling him about the Gigli Squad selling out, at that time, selling out two MSGs,but they're about to sell out their fourth. But anyway.
44:09It's four now? It's four, yeah.Oh, my God.Take that fucking comedy world who fucking says women aren't funny.Take that the women aren't.Do you think it's like new crowds every night?Or do you think it's like eras tour type fans like gigglers that are like, I got to go to every night?Well, you know what it is?
44:29I don't, I don't, they wouldn't get a chance.Like honestly, the demand is so high that like if you're not.It went so fast.Yeah, the first three went unless like the first three went in a half hour each time. That's crazy.Like it, they're like Harry Styles.Yeah, well, that's what I said. One of the comments, I said, what in the Billy Joel is going on here?
44:48Giggly Squad residency.Showing my age.But I was going to say something.I distracted myself by saying the women aren't funny.Oh, before John got on.Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah.So it was just me and Bradley. And so I was like, they sold out to MSGs.
45:09And he was like, will you, were you?were you and Hannah already together when Giggly Squad started? And I was like, what are you a fucking divorce lawyer? What the fuck kind of question is that?Do I get a piece of the action?Anyway, we're very happy for Giggly Squad. But why did that come up?Oh, we're very pro the woman making more money in this part.
45:37But I'm also very pro.Listen, I'm very very, very against public, like, public statements about, like, when things go well, going after the people who fucking doubted you, and, you know, there's like a list. But I think just generically,if you look at the amount of comments that men make, and honestly the amount of private conversations comedians have,
46:06about women not being funny,it is quite satisfying, especially, there's certain areas. There's just so many aspects of the comedy industry where, by the way, I fully admitthat I'm only noticing this now when I can see it through the eyes of, you know, seeing itreally closely. There's so many times where a woman will do well and there'll be like a dismissal or some
46:34sense that it's because of, you know, DEI or the industry's trying to get more women.involved or their fans aren't real comedy.Like, I could, I could bore you to tears about the shit that I've heard about the dismissalof women's success. But there are certain things, no matter, you know, there are certain things that are, like, undeniable. And I just feel like MSG is one of those ones that, like, gets in a man's head and you go,how are you going to, what are you going to, what are you going to, what are you.
47:11you're going to try to say that can belittle or dismiss the fucking overwhelming demand for thosetickets? I don't think there's anything, right? No. Especially like, okay, first one sold out in liketwo seconds and then adding more and more and more and more. It's like you wouldn't be saying,I know you said Billy Joel before and you're kind of joking about it, but you wouldn't be sayingit about somebody like that if they keep selling out shows. It's like, yeah, of course they keep selling out shows.and same with Giggly Squad.Of course they keep selling out this giant venuebecause they have a ton of fans
47:45and they're really good at what they do.It's like, it does bother mewhen people shit on stuff like thatbecause it's like, obviously it's all coming from jealousy.Jealousy.But it's not fair. And it's like there's enough, there really is enough for everybody.
48:00And we live in a timewhere you can like make your own thing. So no one's going around handing out these opportunities anymore. You can make your own thingand make it work for yourself. So like, just because Gagliq's,The Ugly Squad is doing all these shows at MSG doesn't mean you couldn't eventually also have your own show at MSG.What's the sense in putting out this negative vibe and just shitting all over them?
48:20Also, another one from way back in the day, there was a time where, at a certain comedy club, there was a lot of women coming to see popular female performers.and some of the male comics were complaining being like,oh, it's just, it's all their fans, you know? And like, as if, like, they're not, one, as good in an audience,or so they weren't, these guys weren't doing wellbecause it was more women in the crowd. So they were like, and I, of course, I didn't,because I'm not in the mood for confrontation,
48:55but I wanted to be like, bro, all these female comicsthat you've been dismissing all throughout their careerhave all had to make your, fucking men laugh and they figured out a way to fucking make them laugh. If these women aren't findingyou funny, it's because it's not fucking funny to them. It's not because they're not a goodcomedy audience. You're not making them laugh. That's on you, bro. Yeah. Women are great. I mean, they're obviously a select few. Like, there are stereotypical women at comedy shows that I feellike everybody takes issue with. But for the most part, women are great audience members because
49:28they come out with their friends. They spend money. They get drinks. They buy merch. They're greataudience members and they're, you know, generally bringing good attitude. They're not confrontational.So.Yeah, but also that's the thing. It's like, well, actually, is this the first time that you're realizing that noteverybody's into your fucking style, bro?You know?
49:47Yeah.So anyway, that's my little, that's my little rant.I control myself largely, but my, my resentment level is actually quite high.I just keep it on the down low.Yeah.You're like a sleeper agent. You can, like, go, you can go, like, back and forth.Yeah, I'm a spy, bro.
50:07You're like an ally to both sides.Yeah, but I don't even like the term ally, because the truth is that I'm only like aware of it because I only see it now, you know?Yeah.I literally, I didn't see it before. So anyway, let's take another deal breaker.Hi, Des.Hi, Nicole.
50:26I am calling about the niche deal breaker episode. And my niche deal breaker is any man who drives a picture.up trucks. I pick up trucks. They're always riding on your ass. They never follow the rules of the road. And I just feel that that signifies something deeper and darker in a person's character, especially because, I mean, who really needs a car that big that you can't even see over? What if there's little ladies crossing the street and the hood of your car is too high that you run over the little lady? So that is a no-go for me. Always hasn't.always will.Always will. Thanks so much.Bye.
51:06Wow.What if it's a Ford F-150 fully electric? It's still like, do they even make that? What if they're a contractor? What if they're a contractor? What if they need it for their job?Yeah, like what if they need it for their job? What if it's like a practical thing?
51:23But they're like morally against it and they have like a cute bumper sticker or something?Yeah, well, refugees are welcome here. You know, on your Ford F-150?you know that was like because I have it the reason why that's the first thing that came into my mind is becauseI obviously have spent so little time traveling in the United States most of my life I livedelsewhere and when I first started doing shows like in the states like outside of New Yorkone of the first places I went to was Raleigh North Carolina it was like literally one of the firsttimes I was ever in the South it was the first time I was in either of the Carolinas like no so
51:56I'm like wow I'm going the fucking deep I'm going the fucking south you know I was like gettinghyping myself up for fucking, you know, born-again Christians in my crowd. And I get to fucking Raleigh. And one of the first things I see is a sign that's like refugees are welcome here. And there's like rainbow flags. It's like college town. It's like super fucking liberal. And I was like, oh, wow, oopsie poopsie.
52:18Not what I expected. So there you go.You know, you really can't judge a book by its cover.Well, in this case you can because the cover was suggesting that they were very tolerant. And that ended up being the case.So anyway, I sort of semi-agree with you.I think that some people need it for a contractor. But the type of pickup truck driver you're talking about, I get it.
52:40You know? And funnily enough, funnily enough, there tends to be something about God on the fucking bumper sticker, you know, if not some maga bullshit. So I'm with you, girl.I feel you.You know what I'm saying?I don't really mind a pick.I think it's more like aI don't like a loud car.
53:01If the car is loud, it doesn't matter what it looks like.If it's loud and you're making a big scene,I also will say something that Chris doesthat drives me crazy is he's become an aggressive tailgater. And to the point where I'm like making fun of himand he like didn't notice he was doing itand I like made a joke about it.And he was like, what?
53:19You're talking about me?I was like, yes.I'm like, you're constantly riding everybody's ass. You're pulling right up on them. And he's not like the, type of person that in the left lane going 80 he's behind you with like the brights on he's notthat kind of person but he's always like riding very close and I'm like dude you got to chillthere's no need to be that close that's from that's New Jersey that's what New Jersey does to you
53:44I know it changes you you become a tailgator it gets in your blood no I mean listen I can I'm likea classic New York driver I'm not I'm not super aggressive I'm not a tailgatorbut one thing I am is you're never if you're skipping the line you're never getting in on meand the other day a guy nearly got in on me and I I aggressively popped up and Hannah was likeoh it's not that important I was like to me it fucking is you know so I did that's the good thingabout an EV I'm an EV guy you got incredible torque this fucking Chevrolet suburban tried tofucking get in on me.But, you know, but my other rule is if I see a gap and I'm like, I'm going to take you.
54:37So I'm really a hypocrite.Of course. So what do you think about what Francis Ellis does?I get such a, so for those that don't know, Francis Ellis has this thing about two things.one is like you can't skip the line right which we all agree with but then his other one which islike those videos are so funny is if somebody's riding in the shoulder like during trafficFrancis will pull out into the shoulder and just stay there and go with the flow of trafficand he like he films it and these guys are behind him like going fucking crazy and he's just like
55:14as far as he's concerned all he's doing is protecting fairness in our world and it'svery entertaining. You know?I say a lot of the listeners,a lot of the listeners may not even be awarethat they're familiar with Francis Ellisbecause Francis was one of the more popular participantsin Hannah's Hand on the Street videos.
55:39Oh, really? So if those that don't know who we're talking about,we're talking about the red-haired guy,it's a very tall, sort of good-looking red-haired guythat was in Hannah's Hand on the Street videos.I can't remember what the subject was,but he had one like very, like, astute, strong observation that really did well.It was, like, very viral.
55:59So that's Francis Ellis. But I, so I love what Francis does.I love Francis's rules. But I, listen, I have my rules on the road, but I'm also like, like, I said to an Uberdriver recently, I was like, listen, man, like, I'm never letting anybody in, but I have done itmyself.I have. You know?
56:19And the way I see it is.is if you're in an insane rush and you're willing to take on the stress that's required to do this, then that's on you.But I said, but the reality is that if I was an Uber driver, I wouldn't be doing it becauseyou're just going to end up having a heart attack. And he said, I had a heart attack two weeks ago.Oh, my God.And he said, and you're so right.
56:41I literally did not need to be as stressed and aggressive as I have been on the road.So I had like a little moment with this Uber driver.So.Yeah, I'm like.extremely passive on the road in a bad way.I feel like I used to be much more confident and comfortable driving when I was drivingway more often, but since living in the city and then like adjacent to the city, I'm almostnever driving.
57:05So me driving this van right now is like really testing me.But I had to get in and be like, okay, I'm a trucker.Yeah, you're in a van.I'm a trucker. And I have, it's a nine foot van.So I have to be like, okay, just pretend you're a trucker and you feel confident and thisis your van.and it's going to be okay.
57:23But it's gotten to the point, like there's this girl who used to park her caroutside of my old apartmentand she had a bumper stickerthat said hot girls hit curbs. And I really have, like, started to identify with thatwhere, like, I'm, at the point
57:36where I'm so insecure drivingthat I am side swiping stuff. And like, oopsie, like,my bad.Yeah, it's getting bad.Nicole, I have to tell you that.I used to do much better.Everybody that listens to this pod,
57:50like they picture youtall, confident, and brunette. They also, honestly, they all picture you as a confident driver. This has been a great...No way.You give confident driving energy, honestly.Like I could back up like this.Okay, this is...
58:08Behind the thing.Behind the thing.Exactly.I can't.Listen, everybody on this pot thinks that you could assemble like an IKEA couch, like without the instructions.Yeah, no problem.I mean, oh, without the instructions.
58:22That's fucking crazy. It's not like a beautiful mind.Who can do that?Without the instructions.Do you ever see these guys? You ever get the guys to do it?Like, they come and they're like like, shh, shh, shh, shh, shh, fucking done.
58:36It's really nice to get the guys.Oh, I get, I'm always, I'm always getting the guys now.I also remembered there's one more thing I have to tell you about me moving.I stopped my service at my old apartment over the weekend.so I've been packing in pitch black darkness.No.Are you kidding me?Oh, my God.
58:56What the hell? All the lights are off.Like, like, what's, to save 10 bucks? What are you crazy?I just, I, in my mind, I thought we would just stop paying for it and the lights wouldstill be on.Well, they could, yeah, because they have it.And then the building would be paying for it.
59:14Well, they have a different meter for each apartment, which is, I mean, that's prettyorganized of that.So that was news to me.So we had.have like a camping lantern and I'm like packing in the darkness. I'll send you a picture later. It's really sad. That's that is hilarious. By the way, the one last thing, I know we've only donea couple of prompts, but you know, you've mentioned Chris now numerous times on this episode, but throughout the pod. And I'm starting to wonder, because even I don't know what he looks like.
59:39I don't know. I have an image of Chris. I have an image of Chris. I have a image of. Okay. So to me,he's he's he's he's he's thin and he's got brown hair and it's kind of like not long but it's notshort it's like uh like uh like it's it's it's not long but it's definitely not short andit's uh it's dark it's dark hair and he's got a bit of a beard that's myokay how tall do you think he is uh uh i think he's five ten i think he's five ten yeah that's that'sThat's Chris that I have in my head.By the way, is Chris comfortable with this conversation?Yeah, he doesn't care.
01:00:19He doesn't care.Okay.So, dialers.I'm going to send you a picture for the reveal.Dialers, let us know. What is, we know what, Nicole, we can find. What does Chris look like?Okay.
01:00:33So his hair is medium length. He is 510 and he has dark hair, is your verdict. And he has a beard?Yeah. And it's, yeah, so.I have to find a picture of him standing.Well, you don't have to do it now.We can do it after the pod.
01:00:52We should do another prompt. Why don't you do a prompt and then you can find the picture?Let's take another.Hi, I'm calling in about niche deal breakers.I once broke up with a guy for talking during movies. It was like infuriating.I could not deal. Now that I live in Salt Lake, though, I feel like it's maybe niche for any
01:01:14else, but if he doesn't ski, like, what are we going to do all winter, not see each other?I don't know.Sorry, trigger warning, ACL, but, okay, bye.Amen, though.Like, what do you live in Salt Lake City for if you can't ski?Come on.You're the best skiing in the world. And it looks like it's going to be a good season.
01:01:35Not that I'll be able to partake, but looks like Super El Nino is going to be good for theLa Montanias, Los Mananas, right?Las Montaines.Anyway, we'll see, though.Do we have a Chris yet?Yeah, I'm going to send it to you.But something...What?
01:01:51What?No, I was going to start talking about movies in the meantime.I was going to actually stay focused on what we do here.Oh, my apologies. No, I'm kidding.I'm kidding. All right, here we go.This is the Chris.
01:02:04The Chris reveal. The Chris reveal, which it came to on my computer because...You give me two?or one here.Yeah, just because I feel like they have different vibes. And because one of them...I mean, I wasn't that far off.He doesn't have a beard.
01:02:23And he would be here if you said he was 5'10.He's like a little bit taller.Right.But not by much.Yeah.You know what?I tell you, this guy, the guy that it actually is,is not that far from the image I had in my head.
01:02:41You know?Okay.Well, that makes me feel good.Because a lot of people are surprised that I have a hot boyfriend.I was just about to say more importantly, he's a good-looking fella.Yeah, so I get that a lot to the point where it's hurtful, where people are like, whoa, when they, and every male comic friend that I have is obsessed with him, flirts with him, like, and they're all shocked that we're dating. So I'm like, okay, I guess I'm ugly as fuck.Like, what do you mean?
01:03:09It's extremely hurtful.I was not going to express any shock.By the way, my image, in my mind, he was a good-looking guy. That really needs a lot to me.He's not that far off, the what I thought. His hair length especially. No, but that, but I meant like, you know, like scruffiness. Some scruff.
01:03:30Yeah.But no, honestly, it's pretty close.Particularly his hair length, that is exactly the hair length that I was talking about.Cool.So not a surprise.Had he been like a chubby kind of in-cell-looking guy,I would have been like miles from what I was thinking, miles, you know? That would have been a really fun reveal and probably would have changed the way that you saw me, I'm sure.
01:03:53Nah, I would have been, listen, you love who you love. But anyway, this guy's great, you know, but he looks pretty strong, and I feel like he's a missing partner today.Totally.You could use that. But anyway, talking during movies is like unacceptable.Even at home, like talking, you know, like, like, I got to concentrate.Like I can't.I'm a very concentrated watcher of things.
01:04:22Like I'm watching. At home, yeah.To be honest, it actually annoys me that Hannah is like still doing shit on her phone when we're watching.I don't get involved. But why I get annoyed is because I know that within five minutes I'm getting a question.I'm getting a question.Like, what, sorry, what's going on with that guy?And I'm like, well, you would have known, but you were on your phone.
01:04:45You know what I'm saying?Like, that's just the way it is.But I'm also of a different, you know, we are a different generation where like, it's just,we didn't have that distraction. So I just, like, I'm trained to like, when I'm watching, I'm watching. You know, so not a deal breaker for me, obviously. But, you know, talking, talking to you're not.movie's just annoying in general.
01:05:09I hate it in the movie theater. It drives me so nuts. Some people are talking to the point where I'm like full Karen mode, like whipping my head around staring at them.Yeah, but honestly, there have been times where I've like thought about throwing something.Yes.
01:05:21Oh, if you stand up for the crowd.Yeah.Yeah.It's crazy to talk during a movie. But again, it's like, I feel like this, there's this weird like cultural shift that has happened. And like, also it might just be living near a city.Like no one gives a fuck and people talk during the movie.
01:05:36Maybe it's not like that.the suburbs would love to know, but it makes me so angry.Or if you see someone on their phone or whatever. But at home, I like to chat.If there's like something in the movie, I like to be like, oh my God, that's us or likemake little comments during the movie.Or if I remember something, I started talking to Chris, he's a notorious pauser.Like he'll pause the movie and be like, what?
01:05:57And I'm like, no, I can just said it.No, I pause.I pause.Yeah, he's a big pauser.I'm a pauser.I'm a pauser, baby.Which makes sense.Yeah, I'm a poser, man.
01:06:09I need to know what's going on.You know?Yeah. It's just the way it is.By the way, Hannah,Hannah's, like, absolutely has to have the subtitles these days.I could take it or leave it, but...And I think this has come up before,
01:06:22but I'm pretty sure that the audio is just not as good as it used to be on TV.When we saw The Odyssey, man, oh my God.I was like, what the fuck are they saying? What is that guy's name? There's no subtitles. It's the movies. And I was like, my ears are getting blown out every five seconds. And then I've literally know I knew what they're saying.
01:06:44I never saw.I think I'm missing major plot points. And we went to see, you can say, you can say it.I want to see it so bad, but Chris is out of town.Yeah, but we went to see it.And the traffic was so bad that we were way too late.We were way too late because you can't get tickets. So I had to pick a place that was actually a bit far away.
01:07:04And then the traffic was really bad.So we just didn't make it.So I'm really annoyed.Hopefully maybe we can go see it in Sinzapal. So let's, before we go, because we haven't done that many, I'm talking for quite a long time. Can we do, one of them is like a list.So we might as well, we'll get through a lot of them.Hello, Des.
01:07:25Hi, Nicole.I am calling in about the deal breakers pront. So as a Gen Z representative, I wanted to shed some.some light on some deal breakers that I had come across on the dating app. When I was on the app, I've been with my boyfriend for almost two years. So this was a little while ago, but when I was on the app and I was interested in going on a date with someoneor just like continuing to talk with them, I always wanted them to ask me for my phone numberand not for, like, my social media.
01:08:05However, I did not want to give them my phone number because, like, you can, you never know who's, like, on the other end. And, like, you can find out some, you know, personal information from a person's phone number. So, for my own safety, I would only give out, like, my Snapchat or Instagram. But if they asked me for my Snapchat or Instagram, that was an immediate egg.And that was like, absolutely not.I don't want to date you.Because it just, like, shows immaturity. You know what I mean?
01:08:40Also, just a comment on the debate going on about Nicole's appearance and whether or not she's short and all that.In my head, Nicole is what I picture is a combination of Josephine and Grace.Because I know what pages best he looks like and I know what Hannah's bestie looks like. And in my head, Desa's bestie is just a combination of those two, which is probably totally wrong. But that's what I envision.Okay.Have a wonderful day.Bye.
01:09:16Funnily enough, it's not far off, even though. So Josephine works for Paige.Grace actually worked for Gigi Squad in general and also does some stuff for Hannah. So that's where those two people are.of course you know grace you've dealt with grace but uh it's not a millionit's not that far off you being in between those two actually coincidentally enoughbut it's not i like that i'm your grace it's not it's not that it's not that it's not fair thatuh you don't know who josephine is but anyway um i i don't know i don't i guess i can't
01:09:53remember when it came up about your appearance i didn't know that there was like a debate ididn't know this was an on maybe it was it's debating my appearance yeah was it was it was it wasWas it a thing in the spot?Like, I didn't know.Somebody, like, called in once and was like...No, I know, but that was like a while ago, right?Yeah, but there's a resurgence.Did you say something last week about it?
01:10:13I feel like I didn't, but I don't know.Maybe I, maybe something...Did you reference my appearance last week when I was absent?I don't think so.I really don't.Because that would be a crazy thing to do, does.Nicole, don't accuse me of things I haven't done, okay? You know, you would have known what I said.
01:10:31last week if you were here.Honestly, I just, I don't know why there's been two this week.I'm not, I'm not exactly sure.Anyway, I do think that it's funny about the phone number thing because, like, you, you wantthem to ask, but you don't want to give it.But like, so, but then it's like annoying if they don't ask.But it's also like, we'll use the phone number less and less.but asking for the Snapchat to me shows that you're like a certain generation
01:11:04like I would never it wouldn't even enter my mind to ask for your Snapchatbut I think a certain generation like that probably like comes to theirlike naturally comes to their head I guessyeah Instagram makes sense because then you it's not just like let me slide into your DMsit's like I want to see your dog I want to see your life I want to see what you ateor the kind of things you're interested in like you can get a good sense ofsomeone's vibe, I feel like, from looking at their Instagram. The Snapchat, it's just like, you just want me to send picks to you
01:11:35and have, like, a boring conversation.Yeah.Anyway, it's a good one.I'll tell you what we'll do.We've quite a few left, right?I think we'll just stick with this topic. And anybody wants to send in any feedback or anything.Don't be afraid to send in.
01:11:53We'll be in Asia next week with, we'll do some mystery WhatsApp.next week, because there was actually some mystery WhatsApps. And then maybe we'll do like a Chris reveal.Yeah, he'll finally be back once I'm done moving.Yeah, once Chris is actually back on the scene. And should we give the name of his band again so people can like actually find him? He's in like 50 bands, but the one that he's with right now is called Garrett Elias. And they seem to be generally liked by the same types of people that would listen to this show.
01:12:28So lots of, like, college age and slightly above. They do a lot of free shows in New York.Right now, they're opening for Old 60 this week, which I guess is a big band, country band.Oh, really?Yeah. So they're doing like arenas and that this week.So cool stuff, but it's called Garrett Elias. You can find them on Insta.
01:12:54So also, guys, I voted by mail because I'm not going to be here for election day.going to be in Australia, but I voted by mail.Actually, a couple of weeks ago already.Early voting is open, so vote.I'm not going to tell you who to vote for, but I think you know what I would like you to do.So do you get out and vote. It's very important, you know, and because it just feels like democracy may be under threat. So let's remind the powers that be that we like the opportunity to vote, and it matters.
01:13:23And we'll see you next week.Don't forget, 9-17-5-1-2-17-8.And whatever the WhatsApp is, because I haven't learned it off yet.And we'll be back next week.Anything else, Nicole?Have I left anything out?Uh-huh.We'll see you.
01:13:44We'll see you on the highway, driving non-aggressively.Everybody.Bye-bye.
