Starting point is 00:00:00 Bill O'Reilly here. You are listening to the O'Reilly update. Coming up next, the news with Mike Slater. Thank you, Bill. It's Friday. December 8th, 2023. Here's what's happening today in America. Debate ratings. Care exposed. Bill to protect children and a day that will live in infamy. It's all coming up. Then Bill is going to be here with your message of the day. But first, the Republican debate had the lowest ratings of any debate ever. A record for News Nation, 1.6 million people, and then another 2.5 million people watched on the C.W. Most watched show on the CW since 2018. The first debate was 13 million viewers. Then the November debate, down to seven and a half, and now down to four. There should now be no doubt left. The Executive Director of Care, the Council on American Islamic Relations, a Muslim rights organization, gave a speech at the American Muslims for Palestine Convention in Chicago. He said, quote, the people of Gaza only decided to break the siege, break the walls of the concentration camp on October 7th. And yes, I was happy to see people breaking the siege and throwing down the shackles of their own land. The people of Gaza have a right to self-defense. And Israel, an occupying power,
Starting point is 00:01:17 does not have the right to self-defense. And the mask is off. More fallout after the disastrous Harvard, MIT and UPenn president's hearing in Congress about how they really didn't respond to stuff like that from their own students. Penn lost a $100 million donation from Ross Stevens. He's the founder of Stone Ridge Asset Management. He gave a $100 million gift recently and he took it back. He said it's permissive approach to hate speech. Calling for violence against Jews would violate any policies of rules that prohibit harassment and discrimination based on religion, including those of Stone Ridge. Throughout $100 million, A Tennessee State Republican has proposed an age verification bill,
Starting point is 00:01:58 which would require everyone to prove their age before accessing a pornographic website, similar to bills passed in Virginia and Utah. The bill would require a company to match a photograph of the user with a U.S. photo ID. The Assemblyman said, my top priority is the safety and health of children. Pornography is a societal disaster. Modernizing existing laws to require age verification will protect children from it and help the Internet stay digital, not degenerate. Ike Shab was a sailor when he heard the attack.
Starting point is 00:02:28 He ran above deck and saw Japanese planes flying overhead. He was 21 at the time. And 82 years later, Mr. Shab has returned to Pearl Harbor on its anniversary, the attack that killed 2,300 Americans. He was one of five survivors who was at the ceremony yesterday. There's only one member of the USS Arizona who's still living. Lou Contor, California's 102. God bless these men.
Starting point is 00:02:51 I'm Mike Slater, the great Bill O'Reilly with your message of the day. Next. Let's face it, the U.S. economy is under stress. Again, that's 866-326-5576-5576 or text bill to 998899. Time now for the O'Reilly Update, message of the day. On this Friday, just hours after singer Teller Swift was named Person of the Year by Time magazine, a hateful, really hateful, Internet person began with the skin color stuff. Ms. Swift is just a white tool, that kind of garbage. Didn't take long for the biased virus to spread to a variety of media sites, which is where I saw it.
Starting point is 00:04:30 So when are the haters going to have their day in the court of public opinion? When will decent people condemn the skin color racket and demand the media stop promoting it? Can't answer that question, but can say that you can vilify white people in America pretty much without consequence. Teller Swift is an extraordinary story on a number of levels, none of which have anything to do with the color of her skin. A middle-class teenager from Pennsylvania becomes the most successful entertainer in the world before her 33rd birthday. That is quite extraordinary. Her music brings joy to millions. She earned the time award and doesn't deserve to be denigrated because she's Caucasian.
Starting point is 00:05:17 Does she? Racism comes in all colors, a perverse rainbow coalition. Yet in America today, there is no sanction for those who insult and castigate white citizens. Our society rightly and legally protects minority Americans from hatred. However, white people are denied those protections. Brutally wrong. I'm Bill O'Reilly. I approve the message by writing it.
Starting point is 00:05:44 You can reach me. Bill at Bill O'Reilly.com. Bill at Bill O'Reilly.com. Name in town if you wish to opine. Now let's go to the mail. All right, so Ralph says, I say, forget giving money to Ukraine. Can't keep giving the money. It'll never solve the problem.
Starting point is 00:06:02 If Putin wins in Ukraine, Ralph, the United States will pay a thousand times more over the years than it's paying now. Sharon, in my opinion, and Liz Cheney is a traitor to the Republican Party and a traitor of this country for siding with the Democrats on January 6th, among other things. How can a person can speak so hatefully about Trump's policies which greatly benefited the country is beyond my comprehension?
Starting point is 00:06:29 No, it's not, Sharon. You know why Liz Cheney is speaking ill of Donald Trump? Because Trump attacked her father. That's what's all about. Janet, no matter what Trump said or will say the corrupt media will twist it and make a lie out of it. They are a despicable bunch. The worst is, they can get away with it. Yes, they can.
Starting point is 00:06:51 No constraints on the media. None. Pretty frightening. Charles Rinks, Bruce Pine, Alabama. Bill your staff for Americans owning stock begs to question, how can Biden win again? Do Democrats want their investments totally destroyed?
Starting point is 00:07:08 You know, it's a good question, Charles, you're asking. And I do ask that to my liberal friends. I said, look, you guys hurting you, hurting your family, hurting your kids and grandkids, I can just vote for them. The answer is always, Trump is worse. Mike Finian, Jacksonville, Florida, Bill, my wife and I went to dinner recently, a restaurant, wanted to charge me $16 for a glass of wine. I told him no thanks to drank water. Good. And if you believe in Jesus, I mean, it's a long shot, but maybe come down and
Starting point is 00:07:44 Change of water into wine. Probably not. Don't buy stuff that's a rip off. Don't. In a moment, something you might not know. Billionaire Jeff Bezos ditching his Seattle home for Florida,
Starting point is 00:08:35 the planet's third richest man, recently moved to Miami along with his 400-foot mega yacht. That ship is so big, it was forced to dock alongside an oil tanker. If that sounds lavish, it's only the beginning. Here is the story of the Bezos Billions. Jeff began his career with a simple premise. Instead of people browsing for books in a store, they could purchase them online. He launched Amazon in 1994. Back then, just one percent of the U.S.
Starting point is 00:09:12 U.S. population had access to the internet. The most successful website in the world was pisa hut.com. Today, Amazon has three billion visitors each month. It accounts for 10% of America's entire retail market. The company's warehouses have more square footage than 700 football stadiums. The platform is valued at $1.7 trillion. dollars. It's founder Bezos, $200 billion for him. That's more wealth than the entire nation of Kuwait. Apart from Amazon, Bezos owns Aerospace Company Blue Origin, as well as the Washington
Starting point is 00:09:56 Post newspaper. He is also one of the biggest private landowners in America. The billionaire's properties in 12 states, including mansions, in Beverly Hills, Seattle, Texas, Florida, four separate apartments in Manhattan. His penthouse on Fifth Avenue boasts 12 bedrooms. And here's something else you might not know. All this wealth does have a downside, kind of. Bezos currently holds a record, the most expensive divorce in history. In his wife, McKenzie split in January 2019 after 30 years of marriage. As part of the settlement, she receives a 4% stake in Amazon. In total, McKinsey walked the way with $40 billion, making her the fourth richest woman on earth. Back after this.
