Starting point is 00:00:00 Hey guys, it's us, the Jonas Brothers. I'm Joe. I'm Kevin. And I'm Nick. And guess what? We created our own podcast called, Hey Jonas. We invented a podcast? Well, we didn't invent it. We just contributed to it. We're the first people to do podcasts. We get to ask other people questions because we're sick and tired of being asked questions.
Starting point is 00:00:17 Well, sick and tired is a strong way to put it. But, you know, tired and sick. Listen to Hey Jonas on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcast. Just listen. We don't care where you hear it. The story I've told myself can then shape my behavior, and that can lead me to sabotage the possibility of connection. This Mental Health Awareness Month, tune into the podcast Deeply Well with Debbie Brown if you've been searching for a soft place to land while doing the work to become whole. This podcast is for you to hear more. Listen to Deeply Well with Debbie Brown from the Black Effect Podcast Network on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your.
Starting point is 00:00:58 podcast. Hey, it's Edwin Castro, also known as Castro 1021. And I'm Kunky, his best friend and business manager. And we've got a new show called the 1021 podcast. I'm taking you behind the scenes on how I became one of Twitch's most popular streamers. We also love sports. And with the World Cup right around the corner, we'll be breaking down the biggest storylines ahead of the big tournament here in the USA. Listen to the 1021 podcast on the I Heart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. Good afternoon. Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to the reaction show, Bustin with the boys, the NFL portion
Starting point is 00:01:42 of all that before I get into our main sponsor. You might see all the boys, not just me and Will Compton, rocking some nice little merch around here, as because winter is coming. And when winter comes, who else comes? A fat man down your chimney. Let's give a round of applause for our tis the season. For Santa Claus. Merch.
Starting point is 00:02:00 Christmas merch. Search going down. Bustwin the Boys is presented by Fandah's number one sportsbook. America's number one sportsbook. Let me break it down for you. First touchdown? $1 million. Last touchdown, $1 million.
Starting point is 00:02:12 That's $2 million in the pot off of either the first or the last touchdown, and that's what Fandul has for us every single Thursday. If you opt in a Fandul's Thursday night football touchdown jackpot promo and plays the anytime touchdown score, and the player scores either the first, wait for it, or the last touchdown of the game, you will win your bet and a share of that $2 million in bonus bets. So who's scoring?
Starting point is 00:02:37 Nick Chubb or Nico Collins, maybe James Cook or even Josh Allen. Josh Allen, Clum has a nice little stead about Josh Allen. We'll get into a second. No matter who you think is putting the points on the board, make sure you opt into that touchdown jackpot promo, place at any time TD bet, and tune in to see if they score the first or the last touchdown of the game. If they do, you're walking away with an even bigger win.
Starting point is 00:02:58 You can visit fandul.com forward slash bussing to get started today. Let's get into the reactions. Let's talk about NFL. Things are chaos. Things are going crazy right now. And as much as things change, they somehow stay the same. When you look at the Eagles and the Lions, it's like, oh, my God. You're looking at a Kansas City Chiefs team that's 500 while the Denver Broncos are what,
Starting point is 00:03:22 nine and two? Eight and two. Broncos, one of them. One of them. There's something in two. There's something in two. There's something in two. But let's go ahead and trickle down to the Thursday night football game that took place.
Starting point is 00:03:33 I know you boys did a stream if you always want to talk about that. My little ass was in Arizona, taking care of some stuff right there. But Patriots did with the Patriots have consistently done this entire year. They're also not into. They get themselves a 2714 win over a powerhouse New York Jets team. Yeah, we can get in the AFC East. We'll start in the AFC East.
Starting point is 00:03:51 Like Patriots, they're incredible. They're incredible. And everybody, too, that's talking about, they have the easiest schedule in the NFL, like, sure, statistically, analytically, you can say that. But this is the NFL. This isn't college football. Right. And something to put in people's minds, when you have the easiest schedule, you're going against the easiest team because they were bad last year. They had better draft picks in that. So they should statistically get better as a team if their front office is doing what they're supposed to be doing. Right. And no matter what the expectation coming into this season was like, Patriots could compete maybe for the second.
Starting point is 00:04:21 They'll be in that kind of second or third range of the AFC East. Like it's the bills. This is the bills that have Josh Allen. You're like these. These are, you know, it's the Buffalo Bills talk every year. This was purely like a rebuilding expectation for the New England Patriots. And the way they look right now, the way Drake May looks in the pocket, like the dude makes the game look easy. He's calm. Like, you'll hear about quarterbacks. I want to say, Bo Nicks might be one.
Starting point is 00:04:45 Who else? Where they just rock at the ball, where they just throw the ball hard. Caleb Williams. Caleb Williams. Cam Ward at times. But you watch Drake made the touch he puts on these balls and just the poise and calm he has. like when he's maneuvering around the pocket, when he's breaking tackles, the dude is a baller. Right now, I think, too, after you watch Sammy Darnold and Matt Stafford play the Rams
Starting point is 00:05:06 Seattle game, Jonathan Taylor was on a buy week. But those quarterback Sammy D. and Stafford kind of being in the MVP conversation, I feel like Drake May is right now he is the leader. He is at the forefront. I know he's at the front of the odds. But everybody kind of had everybody pocketed in there on who's going to show up as the MVP. I think after this weekend, Drake May is the MVP of the NFL right now. Josh Allen's starting to creep in there.
Starting point is 00:05:26 a six touchdown game. Six touchdown. He'll be back in the conversation. Matthew Stafford, he had three touchdowns yesterday, didn't he? Three touchdowns, zero interceptions, like yet again. I had like a, what do you have, two? What was he stat line? Stafford, yeah, 130 yards two touchdowns.
Starting point is 00:05:43 Yeah, he had 130 yards two touchdowns. Right. And so it's really those two guys, especially after Sammy D has himself a four interception game. Those years, I mean, the guy who I think we should be waving the fly for a little bit more as a guy that was on a biweek this week, Jonathan Taylor. Like people are talking about this is a quarterback award. It really just sees with the quarterback.
Starting point is 00:06:01 We need somebody needs to at the very least draw a line in the sand and hold the flag for some of these other positions getting this MVP award. And Jonathan Taylor, if there's going to be anybody this year, it's going to be him. Yeah. If he comes out again, I feel like for running backs, it's just it's harder as a running back because it's usually a QB dominated award. Unless Jonathan Taylor continues to do what he's been doing and gets like 30 touchdowns on the season, it'll be hard for him to get that award. Now, if he gets 30 touchdowns or if he breaks a touchdown record or has 2,000 on the ground, like he's a versatile running back. Like the Colts, I think, are for real?
Starting point is 00:06:32 Like, where are they at right now? They'd be like the two seed. Would they be the two seed behind? They lost it. Or would the Broncos be there? Either way, you got the Broncos, you got the Colts, you got the New England Patriots. If he finishes, if he finishes the way he's been performing, I just feel like it's much harder for a running back to do.
Starting point is 00:06:48 He absolutely should be in the conversation. Absolutely. I just feel like right now it's Drake. Right now it's Drake May. I mean, Patriots two lost team, number one in the AFC, Drake May. Drake May, Mike Vrable. Coach of the year?
Starting point is 00:07:00 For coach of the year? Yeah. It is, it cannot be understated. It cannot be understated what the New England Patriots and Mike Vrable has done with the culture already in one year. You've already kind of splashed down in a little bit. Like, if they went four and 13 this year, people would be like, that's kind of the expectation is to be like a bottom of the
Starting point is 00:07:19 barrel team. They didn't have the roster. They don't have the guys. They had a bad year last year. Drake May in the early part of the season everyone's like he needs another year to develop and become the quarterback that the New England Patriots want him to be. They have thrown
Starting point is 00:07:30 all that out of the window. They are playing sound complete defense. They have the number one rush defense in the NFL. Drake May as I think at this point we can just say he's throwing the best deep ball in the entire NFL. Like they are balanced attack on offense. Their offense line is playing well for how young they are, especially on the left side that office line.
Starting point is 00:07:47 It is truly impressive to see what Mike Rable has done. in New England. Incredible. Absolutely incredible. Then you look at the bills. Massive win over the Buccaneers. It started off when Josh Allen threw that pick and stuff.
Starting point is 00:08:03 I was like, man. It's about it. And yeah, backed up. Yeah. It's like, bro, this is really going to, this might be the end of the bills for this season. I'm never going to count them out. Like if Josh has a bad year,
Starting point is 00:08:14 next year I'm like, well, it's Josh Allen. Like, that's a one-off. You're thinking more they're going to be in the wild card conversation. Yeah. Maybe, maybe. Because then you start, I mean, if they can, if they spiral that game, if it was the pick, and then it just kept going that way, similar to it for them last week, it's like, yeah, what is this team really?
Starting point is 00:08:32 Because when you look at the bill's defense, their defense, they clearly have an issue. And it's if you can run the ball effectively between the tackles, you're going to beat the bills. That is kind of what. You'll be in position. You'll be in a position to beat the bills. You'll be able to stay in the game because like you pointed out, after that Atlanta Falcons game, like they're a light in the ass.
Starting point is 00:08:50 And when you're light in the ass and you can do gap scheme downhill runs from under center, you are going to be in a world of trouble if you're Josh Allen because he plays in backyard football yesterday it was absolutely incredible what he does. But how often can we expect him
Starting point is 00:09:03 to do these things when he has a wide receiver room the way he does? Yeah. And what is it? Second time in his career that he's had three passing and three rushing touchdowns.
Starting point is 00:09:11 Yeah. And Clumpy, you just had the mic in your hand. Give us that stat you were talking to us about. Josh Allen currently has 75 career rushing touchdowns, which is tied for the most in NFL history by a quarterback. Who is he tied with? Cam Newton.
Starting point is 00:09:25 This is only Josh Allen's eighth year, and we got safely five plus years of elite play, probably from Josh Allen still. Barring a major injury, Josh Allen is going to wipe the floor with that record. Yeah. One of a kind player. And the three and three,
Starting point is 00:09:39 like the record is held by somebody who played that. I think it was Frank Targinton. Back in the 50s? What is it, Fran? Fran. Yeah, and he did it three times. So Josh Allen is only one game away from tying that record.
Starting point is 00:09:49 Back in the 1950s. 1950s. Impressive stuff. Yeah. They even throw the ball in the 1950s. That like 1950s one's kind of impressive.
Starting point is 00:09:56 Yeah. It's crazy that he's so good at running the football, but I don't know if you guys saw his deep ball to Shavers, I believe, just scrambling around and then just a bomb. Like he is,
Starting point is 00:10:06 he's a freak freak player. But he really is. And his offensive line is good too. Like they have the opportunity. James Cogie can run it at a clip anytime he wants. Like their offense can be really good. They should be more consistent. But they're just.
Starting point is 00:10:19 defense is the thing that scares me when we're talking about postseason dude yes yeah we're talking about championships super bowl lombardy trophy will convent and taro lowan throwing being through the through a table i'm concerned about right now that in november yeah yeah um can we bring up uh while we're talking about this next thing can we bring up new england and buffalo's uh wrestler schedules right one thing i'll just we'll motor past it pretty quickly but it is getting a little more interesting to me the miami dolphins okay they've won two in a row And I'll tell you the biggest difference about the Miami Dolphins is they're not doing this cute motion, everything, tricky dick type of offense. They're actually just getting under center and running downhill plays with A-chan.
Starting point is 00:11:02 They're running play-action pass. And you can see a massive change in their offense. Obviously, it was 13-13. They go, they win an overtime game after Marcus Mayota in overtime throws a pick quickly. They go kick the three and it's over. But their offense seems so much more controlled. time of possession. It's just something to keep your eye on. I'm not saying that the Miami Dolphins are going to be anything, but watching how quickly they've transitioned their
Starting point is 00:11:27 offensive scheme. Yeah. Something to keep your eye on. Something to, you know, Louis, if you're a Miami fan, be like, maybe we got something going on here. Now, I love that you brought that up because football fans out there, football fans everywhere. We're in such a prime time of the season because here's where chaos ensues. If you watch, and if you're also in college, again, a college to drop here later on, or they'll be later in the episode. But if you're on audio, they'll be later in the episode. But if you love chaos, which we do on this bus, which we do on this bus, how some of these conversations could shift
Starting point is 00:11:55 around the dolphins, because, you know, realistically, like, they can't lose, they can't lose another game. But for them to get in some of these potential wildcard spots, here's the rest of their schedule. They got the Saints. They're on a bi-week right now. Then they have the Saints. Then they have the Jets. Then they have the Steelers,
Starting point is 00:12:12 Bengals, Buccaneers, and Patriots to end the year. You look at Buck's Patriots, The way the Steelers are playing, they're so inconsistent, you have no clue. You never know. Right. They're like the Falcons. Like if they win, if the Steelers win the week before they play the Dolphins,
Starting point is 00:12:25 you assume they're going to lose the Dolphins. Yeah. But over the next two, you got Saints and Jets. And right there they could be making a little comeback to where they'll be sitting at six and seven. They could be sitting at six and seven. And the conversations with the Miami Dolphins and the potential chaos of the NFL, it could be alive and well. Because again, you got Saints and Jets.
Starting point is 00:12:42 Then the Steelers, they'll have to play at Pittsburgh. But they will be playing some, they will be playing some, December, they'll be playing December football, some meaningful games in December. Yeah. Then you got the Bengals after that, then obviously you end with the Bucks and Patriots, but they could be in place. They're, they could be looking at playoff mode in December. Patriots could bench their starters in the last game of the year too. So that could be a little free win too. It could be a little free win. I see Braves been playing them for a half at least, at least, but it's in New England. We obviously know the Miami Dolphins, how they handle the cold, not very
Starting point is 00:13:18 well, but you see that bucks game, bro, if they don't get healthy. And Baker Mayfield, he's got to keep scrambling the way he is. Like, it's hard to believe that Baker's been able to stay healthy the entire year having to play the way he is to keep his team going. We could be getting into that late December, early January, with a no Baker Mayfield's box and then the Patriots sitting their team. Yeah. And all of a sudden, the Miami Dolphins are kicking the Kansas City Chiefs out of the playoffs. Well, Chiefs, they could be out of the playoffs. Right now, they're out of the out of the playoffs. Right.
Starting point is 00:13:50 But if you said, if I look to you and I said, dolphins, dolphins or chiefs, you're gonna take the chiefs. I understand your little thing you got with the chief's buddy, but it did, come on, fired their GM,
Starting point is 00:14:03 McDaniels is a dead man walking right now. Like the chiefs. You can't honestly think the dolphins are a better football team than the chiefs. Why can't we think that way? Yeah. The chiefs are what,
Starting point is 00:14:18 0 and 5 and 1 score games. Like the Chiefs, here's what's going to be painted for the rest of the year. If anybody can do it, the Chiefs can do it. But right now, like, the Chiefs, they just don't have any of that juju going for them. Yeah. Any of it.
Starting point is 00:14:30 Last year, the biggest knock on them was they're winning these games in such a unique ways. The blocked field goals, the DPI. 12 and 0 and 1 score games. Yeah, 12 and 0 and 1 score games. Now we get to this year. Same situation, just coin flip, going the opposite way.
Starting point is 00:14:45 They're 0 and 5. Yeah. They've got to, They've either got to not make it a one-score game or figure out a way to win those one-score games. So that's the game plan, boys, if you're wondering. If you're the Chiefs, that's how you do it. But you look at the Chief's schedule right now. They've got the Colts at home, Cowboys away.
Starting point is 00:15:02 Texans, Chargers who, charges are very inconsistent as well. We saw what the Jacksonville Jaguars did to them. Bro. Dummy session. Jaguars beat their ass, man. Beat their ass. And I was surprised. I'm like, okay, charges were four and one in their last five.
Starting point is 00:15:18 Like they're still in the hunt. They're still in the hunt. They're still in the hunt with the division. Like they're still a team that's finding ways you got Justin Herbert who can win any football game. Don't have to put an O line in front of them. The dude finds a way to win. And for them, they just get killed by the Jaguars. Who Jaguars have been inconsistent. They were sneaky at the very beginning.
Starting point is 00:15:35 Then they were kind of like, okay, they seem like the, the Jaguars of old over the last few weeks. But now it's like the Jaguar's sneaky tough in the AFC right now. Sneaky tough. They're back to sneaky tough. I'm going to say they're sneaky dead. How can you say they're sneaky dead after beating the charges 35 to 6? If they can be sneaky tough, they can also be sneaky dead. Because this is what sneaky is.
Starting point is 00:15:56 Sneaky is hope. All right, I'm just taking the hope and being the negative portion of the hope. Right, but you're taking the hope after an insanely optimistic ass whooping. Excellingly optimistic ass whooping. When they beat the Chief, there was insanely optimism going around there. What happened after that? But you're saying after 35. They rode the boats across the pond, ass whipping.
Starting point is 00:16:13 But you're saying Jags, you're saying Jags after a 356 win, you're like, sneaky dead. Sneaky dead because everyone's like oh they're so alive right now because the ass woman they just put on sneaky dead okay what's the Jags record right now Six and four Sneaky dead That's a great record to be sneaky dead It's a great record to be sneaky dead I don't need to see Herbert taught her brother Okay, shirm By the way, I did not know Herbert had a brother in the league
Starting point is 00:16:41 That's crazy sure it's crazy right up Herbert's hotter brother plays for the Jags tied in for the Jags Yeah They sound exactly the same Yeah, look alike Sound alike And I see that there's a Herbert Tide end down there in Jacksonville Talk to me about
Starting point is 00:16:57 Steelers Bengals I know the Steelers won that game But a little note there says Rogers hurt wrist Could be out? What happened there? I think it's a small break
Starting point is 00:17:11 Or something like that Allegedly Alleged small break Per Aaron Rogers' sources They said It was a very weird report But I guess Someone close to Aaron
Starting point is 00:17:19 Rogers let them know that. Someone said they were close? He believes he has a broken left wrist. Day to day. Not throwing him. Not throwing him. There's nothing a rod. I'll tell you what.
Starting point is 00:17:28 There's not going to be a more A-Rod moment than he goes out for the next game with a club on his left hand. And it goes and fucking slings that thing. Someone tries to give him, he gives him a little jab in the throat. I kind of like it. I like the adversity. Speaking of inconsistency, Steelers. Well, you're going to say jab.
Starting point is 00:17:45 This is kind of for you. The Steelers game, there was a spitgate with. Jamar Chase and Jalen Ramsey and I guess Jamar Chase allegedly spit at Jalen Ramsey and then he punched him. I don't know if you guys saw that. They reviewed the film. Him with the Jemkees combo. He definitely
Starting point is 00:18:01 spit and then they interviewed Jalen Ramsey after. Did you see his interview after? It was like He said respectfully. He's like once someone spits on me, I don't care about football at that point. Respectfully. He said fuck football at that point. He said oh somebody spits on me, it's up. I don't even care about football at that point. Respectfully.
Starting point is 00:18:17 He was like grimy ass spit. Was it, Lil Luke? You didn't see that? No, I didn't. My dad came over and wanted to talk about his love life. I'm like, Dave, I'm trying to watch these games right now, too. Classic Dave. Classic Dave, I'm going out with this girl.
Starting point is 00:18:31 I had Dave, I had Dave, when Rebel Luan, she had herself a little, she started a band, and they had their first little outing at this bowling alley, and they, like, were singing two original songs at 445, and I go, Dave, you try to go to this? It'd be awesome, thinking grandfather. He's like, I got this. I got this date. Kind of meet up with this girl, I got plans.
Starting point is 00:18:52 I'm thinking. I look, I'm going to go, hell of a grandfather. All right, Dave. Yeah. Just, all right, Dave. But it was last minute. So I got to give Dave a little bit of credit. It was a last minute invite.
Starting point is 00:19:04 That's on me. Live music. I'll tell you what the girls kind of had themselves a couple of choreographed dance moves. Sold out. It was sold out. I know it was hard to find a seat. I know that.
Starting point is 00:19:14 Are there any instruments in this band? No. Hell, yeah. Just three little guys. girls singing the they're called the squashes dude oh yeah win summer squash yeah he could have been in the crowd she had herself a little like they were singing together acapello style when right now we all of a sudden win singing by herself like oh that's fucking she rap in or she's no this one little girl did rap though and she started hitting him i was like oh my god bars well
Starting point is 00:19:42 yeah bars for an eight-year-old for sure it was impressive to see kind of sat there just smiled when it was like staring me down the whole time she just You're thinking, I'm thinking, fucking doing this, man. Any K-pop demon hunter? No, no, no K-pop Demon Hunter, but hey, I'll tell you
Starting point is 00:19:57 what that album hits. Onward, back to football. I just want to have that little nugget for you guys. Dave made me miss that game. What were we on? Jamar spitter and quitter. It was a spitting problem, bro. There's a spin issue going in the NFL.
Starting point is 00:20:12 Hey, we can't stand for it, right, boys? Hands in, right? We can't stand to that. Who started the spitting date? Who started to spit a. Yeah, who started? it's spit game. Hands in. We can't have that in the NFL. Am I right, Will? Yeah, I agree. I think it's disgusting. I think it's the lowest of lows. There's a lowest of low.
Starting point is 00:20:27 That is, that is scumbag move. It's a scumbag move you spit on somebody. Is there any coming back from spikage? Yeah. You can come back. What advice, like, what would you tell as a guy who's been a spitter before? What would you tell Jemar Chase? Reviewing the tape. Start a podcast with your best friend and apologize publicly. Okay. That's what I would do. Every day. Every time it comes up and your boys want to once again kick you while you're down about spitting. Own it, live it, apologize about it. That being said, TJ, once again, I am sorry.
Starting point is 00:20:56 Do you think Jalen Ramsey would ever go on that podcast? No, probably not. Yo, the way Jalen Ramsey was answering that question, too, like it seems like all he wants to do is fight Jemar now. We know this about Dailing. I know, but you think it's on-site type of dude. It's like in the off-season when the receivers or D.Bs, like when they get together, they always have this good, you know,
Starting point is 00:21:18 they always have like this rapport, this respectful rapport, like they respect each other and stuff. It's like I'm so curious now if they're going to be around each other in the offseason. There'll be something, man. There'll be something. Miami, Houston. Something's going to have. That's the spit right there.
Starting point is 00:21:32 Dude, it was a big one. That is a big boy. It was a luggy. That is cotton mouth type of shit. Yeah, yeah. A flam in there. That's he's drank a lot of gatorade and he had it fizzling up there in the back of the throat. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:21:44 Oh, yeah. That is a like a heartburn spit. Yeah. More sphin came out of his mouth than he had yards that game. Ooh. That's what Jalen said, man. Jalen snapped off like that. We can say that.
Starting point is 00:21:59 Yeah, I can say that. So Jalen fights him. Does he get ejected from the game? Ejected. ejected out of here. Yeah. Because when you're watching it go down and I'm kind of rewatching the clip without knowing that Jumar spit on him.
Starting point is 00:22:12 I see it go down, I'm like, what is Jailen fucking doing, bro? They're kind of sitting there talking and then Jailen kind of like punch grass. grabs them in the face masks, they're going back and forth. And Jamar just keeps his hands down the whole side. I'm like, I wonder what Jamar said to him to set him off, like, good on him for getting riled up and he's got the flag and everything else. Right. But now that I see this luggy getting spit on him.
Starting point is 00:22:30 It's on site. It's on sight. It's tough too. It's on sight. I tell you what, dog. In the locker room, Jamar's like, I ain't have to spit on nobody. I don't know about my mouth for that guy. It's like, there is a fat luggy coming out of your mouth, bro.
Starting point is 00:22:42 Could have been something else, dude. He also didn't know that there's a video out there. Yeah, games televise. games are all televised dude they'll always get you gotta go hell yeah I did spit all over yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah I wonder I wonder how that all what are you doing in a game somebody spits on you I'm telling on him right away okay you're not fighting though yeah I'm point at him hey hey laugh yeah yeah dog hey there then you just hear him hawk it up and then you just open your mouth spitz on your chest you try and like drop your
Starting point is 00:23:18 Jokes, I'd lick that shit if I could. Hey, Ruff. Hey, Ralph. Maybe that's what it is. You just wipe and then fucking lick it. Then tell on them. Yeah. I mean, that's some psychotic shit that throws off.
Starting point is 00:23:32 He spits on you. He gets ready to square up with you and you just fucking... Lick it. Tastes like a bitch. Oh, you're so cute when you get mad. There's a win. That's a win right there. That's a win.
Starting point is 00:23:46 Tastes like a bitch. Oh my God, that's beautiful. Spickgate. Spick. Spick. What a great way to handle it too right there. He's like a bitch. Well, Jay J.J. McCarthy throws two more Inties.
Starting point is 00:24:01 The Vikings loose to the Bears 1917. Here's what I'll say about JJ. It's not, obviously, statistically, it's not going great right now. Watch the film, though, dude. He shows flashes where he's throwing guys as they're breaking out of their route. ball placement in certain situations like he has the ability to be a good quarterback in the NFL he does and we've got to this is what a six start his so we're in middle of October six seven oh no that was tough to look at uh oof um but yeah dude he has the ability now the question is
Starting point is 00:24:40 is how long are the vikings going to be patient with him give him a chance because you see it on film Dude, he's got a couple of throws here and there. A couple of drop ones by Addison during that game. Had a nice one to Addison for a touchdown. Addison on my fantasy team. We'll take that. He's got the ability. Now, can he mentally overcome some of these blemishes that continuously happen during the games?
Starting point is 00:25:03 Because if you're throwing two INTs a game, but you're going to run to an issue. That said, you see the touch on the ball. You see the deep throws every once in a while. There was one in his last game where the dude was breaking off to the left and he throws it. DB's draped all over him and he puts it in a spot that only receiver catch. You watch that throw and you're like, that's an NFL quarterback. But then you see the stat line, it's like, you know, obviously it's not what you want. It's not going to win you games.
Starting point is 00:25:27 It's not going to make you a playoff championship caliber team. So we will see. We will see. Yeah, to me it's just all patience. I just don't want to be in the camp where you're like, is JJ the guy for the Vikings or not? I flirted with that this year with Caleb Williams. He's had a season and a half under his belt. And the dude does nothing but show up in the fourth quarter.
Starting point is 00:25:43 And yeah, when it's on script, he looks great. when it's off scripted, dude, the way he's able to get mobile and whip the ball around. His talent is unreal. How elusive he is, man. Yeah. He is, like, I don't know people want to say like Lamar Jackson, Josh Allen, as far as elusiveness. I think Caleb is the most elusive quarterback in the NFL. There are times where he is, guys are draped on him.
Starting point is 00:26:03 He is able to get out of those things. He's way more athletic than people give him credit for. He's way more quick twitch. He did his ability to extend plays, I think is one of one in the NFL right now, especially with the Lamar. We're kind of seeing the series. Is he hurt? Is he not?
Starting point is 00:26:16 But I think Caleb Williams is the most elusive quarterback in the NFL. Yeah, and just the vibe they got right now in Chicago. Again, people are going to talk about their schedule. But at the end of the day, they're 7 and 3. They're winning games. They're winning games late. Like, game winning drives with Caleb Williams.
Starting point is 00:26:28 And then you go into the locker room, Ben Johnson, here. The post game speeches and just how fired up the locker room is. Like, they have a lot of momentum right now. And again, going back, like, for just the way Caleb Williams has been playing and the way everybody, myself included, flirting with this is not the guy for Chicago, everything else. It's like he's had a year and a half of football to be played. And J.J. McCarthy's only at start five or six.
Starting point is 00:26:50 And yeah, he's playing inconsistent. He's got flashes. People want a lot more out of him, which is all justified. But again, it's like you just, you got to give him patience. You have to give him patience. He's had injuries both years. And Minnesota's just not going to be a team that's in the playoffs this year. So, you know, it's like having that expectation, you eliminate that expectation,
Starting point is 00:27:09 just hope the kid gets better as the season goes on. Yeah. Ben Johnson, coach, the year nominee. Yeah. Has to be in the conversation. He has to be in the conversation. Does he hold the KEL to Vrable right now, though?
Starting point is 00:27:20 I think so. Yeah, you know, again, it's his first year. And everybody was saying they don't have the roster, they don't have the team, hasn't been the head coach before. Caleb Williams, is he the guy? He's not the guy for Chicago, and all they've done is get these wins. And they're seven and three. Then you got, what's his name, Steichen from the Colts?
Starting point is 00:27:38 You want the, you want the odds right now? Yeah, what are the odds on Fandole? It's Braves, Shane, Stichen, Mike McDonald, Dave Canellis, Ben Johnson, Sean McVeigh. So Ben Johnson plus 2,000. Might be worth. Might be worth the little pepper on that one. Dave Canales in Carolina.
Starting point is 00:27:57 I mean, he's doing his thing down there. He would have thought, sneaky. Who would have thought 11 weeks into the season that the Panthers would have a better record than the Chiefs. Yeah. Oh, wow. Battle. That would hurt.
Starting point is 00:28:10 Impressive. Yeah, coming from a Chiefs guy. I'm sure that one hurts to say. Is that breaking that Matthew Stafford is now in the lead for MVP odds? Oh, yeah, they were tied. Yeah, Josh Allen with a big bump too. Stafford is the favorite at plus 135. Drake May, second, plus 175.
Starting point is 00:28:30 Josh Allen, third, plus 450. Jonathan Taylor plus 900. Patrick Mahomes is fifth, plus 2,000 and six. Jalen Hertz plus 4,000. Oh, Mitch. Chief Sky. The only guy. that kind of holds the chief's flag
Starting point is 00:28:45 and you're saying get Patrick Mahomes out of there? No, no, no, no. I'm talking about get that fifth place guy. Six place place guy, six place guy. The number one scene in the NFC. Jalen Hurts should not be in the MVP conversation.
Starting point is 00:28:57 Neither of them should. I absolutely agree with that. Yeah. I mean, yeah, you're 100% right. Yeah, I don't feel like Mahomes should be,
Starting point is 00:29:06 you know, I guess, again, if any team can do it, it's the chiefs. That's what's going to be the whole, the saying for the rest of the season. That is the question. Until they absolutely cannot.
Starting point is 00:29:14 make the playoffs. If the chiefs, if the chiefs go win six of the last seven, because they're five and five right now, right? If they win six of their last seven and they do it in the way the chiefs have to do it, which is by Mahoma's magic, is he the MVP of the season? I think Caleb Williams should be in that conversation. Over Jalen Hertz, I agree. Yeah. Also Sam Darnold. I know he just three for four picks. He's not, he's not in the top three, but as far as on these odds, like quarterbacks who have been playing well, like he had a bad game. What about JSN? Yeah, Danes.
Starting point is 00:29:44 Yeah. Danny Dimes, well, he had the one bad game, was it, he did a buy this week, the week before that they won so the week before that. What about Jayesan?
Starting point is 00:29:53 He had like two, three interceptions. What's that? JASN. Jackson Smith and Jigbund. Yeah. What was his stat line? Fadneville trying to get some easy money
Starting point is 00:30:00 from people. Jalen Hurd, like, Clumps probably put in the odds on Jalen Hurd. He had like, that's just by Fandle right there. Plus 4,000.
Starting point is 00:30:07 Yeah. No. I don't even have to have. I can't even make a joke off that. Here's the list extended, by the way. So Sammy D. sitting at 8 right now at plus 5,000. Behind Hertz, dude.
Starting point is 00:30:25 That is just crazy to me. Jackson Smith and Jigba. He's waved on the list at plus 10,000. Yeah. Can I get his stat line from yesterday? Yeah. Can I see that? Because I was at the,
Starting point is 00:30:34 I think he had at least the hundred. The rehearsal yesterday when that game was going on. And when that 3.30 slate hit, dude, I was like, look at these games. I cannot wait. to sit on this couch and watch. That's when Taylor hit me with, hey, we got this thing today
Starting point is 00:30:45 that I didn't tell you about. And I was like, I guess that's what we're doing. I can, honestly, I can see now why Stafford's in the lead. Like you beat a Seattle defense. Like Seattle's defense. Three touchdowns, no exceptions.
Starting point is 00:30:55 Yeah, bro. And that was a defense of battle. Like, that was, that game was fun to watch. How many games in a row does Stafford have three touchdowns? I think he had two. He had two touchdowns. He only like,
Starting point is 00:31:04 he only had like 150 yards and two touchdowns. But against Seattle's defense, you don't give the ball away. Like, you don't throw an interception. I can see, yeah, I can see why they have them as a frontrunner. I mean, Stephord took for 130. Because you're going to bring schedules into it.
Starting point is 00:31:19 Yeah. Then, yeah, Stafford, the way that they beat Seattle. How is he continuously open down the field? He's a dog, bro. For nine receptions and 105 yards. That is just mind-blowing to me. He's smooth, too. Smooth, bro.
Starting point is 00:31:33 Like, he has got some crisp movements. They were talking about it on the broadcast. He has 46% of the target share. So that means, like, 46%. 46% of the passes are going to him. Yeah. Man, Sammy D. had Rashid, Shaheed, yesterday in the end zone and just under threw him a little bit. Really?
Starting point is 00:31:53 To where the corner was just long enough to get his hand on it. But dude, he beat this dude off the line of scrimmage and his speed getting to the end zone was just under it. Yeah. That's one where it's like it's week two of Rashid being on the roster. Sammy tried to figure him out a little bit. But this dude is fast, man. Oh, shit. This guy's that fast.
Starting point is 00:32:11 Yeah. Yeah, it is awesome the way, like we'll get to college football. And I know that the chaos is kind of like slowed down a little bit with the chaos possibilities in college football with what happened this past weekend. But as much as that's kind of gone down in the NFL, it's getting spicy and that who's going to be that six, seven in the playoffs. Yeah. I think the chaos has picked up in college football. You were saying before, I know you're a big like just like a bracketeer. Like I lean on the Wilcompton experience to kind of give me the lay of the land.
Starting point is 00:32:40 Then you walked in the building there you go, Texas ruined the chaos. So I just go in my head like, I guess the chaos is kind of slowing down in college football because I'd love to hear about it. But I'm not a guy that's like, you know, in there with the yarn ball and the court board trying to figure out like you are. I should have said Texas ruined maximum chaos. Maximum chaos. Maximum chaos. We'll get to that. Hey, it's us to Jonas Brothers. And guess what? We have some big news. What's the news? Huge news. We created our own podcast called, Hey, Jonas. We invented a podcast?

But this one's extra special. So how did we actually come up with a name, Hey Jonas, guys? I honestly don't remember. I think it was on a call about what we should call it. Oh, we were thinking I'm originally calling it one of the early names of our band before Jonas Brothers.
Starting point is 00:33:33 This is how you guys remember it going down? Yes. I have a very different memory of this. We were talking about a thing, a bit for the podcast, where people could call in and say, hey, Jonas. And then I wrote down on my little notepad, Hey Jonas, and offered it up as a potential title for the podcast. But thanks for remembering that, guys. Blue Diamond almonds, the official snack of Big Ten football and football fans everywhere. Let's get back to this recap. Well, we should talk about heartbreak hotel or optimistic loss, Titans, Texans.
Starting point is 00:37:59 I know, it's kind of like that this is, I mean, this is chaos and it's we live in Nashville, Tennessee. We obviously the two biggest Tennessee Titans fans sitting over here. We both played for the Titans. So obviously, like, Every Sunday when they play, you're going to watch it a little bit. You're going to make sure you keep tabs. Jeff Simmons is back, obviously, are an absolute wrecking ball. Defense is 10 times better when he's in it. But give me your guys' thoughts, because we're looking at Tennessee Titans
Starting point is 00:38:22 that have the number one overall pick right now. And then the next, what, 6, 7? I don't know why I keep saying that, dude. The next five or six teams are like two win teams. So we're kind of in this. Like, you could be the first overall pick or, like, the eighth. It's a very interesting dynamic. taking place. I love to hear from the Nashville boys
Starting point is 00:38:41 about where their hearts are at, their minds are at when it comes to the future of this franchise. I'll let Jack take the bulk of it, but you earlier saying that you want to lose to have a draft pick is painful. Earlier this morning.
Starting point is 00:38:57 I think it's a, if you look at long term, you don't want to win. They don't ask how to ask how to ask how many. As a player, as a player, if I'm in that locker room, if I'm in that locker room, the only thing that matters to me is winning. Sitting on a bus, not playing in Cabo right now if you're in that locker room? No, I was never that guy.
Starting point is 00:39:13 Ever, ever, ever. I'll believe you. I was also too young to get to that experience. By the time, like, when I was older and those thought, those, those, uh, those bad thoughts could creep in, we were like in playoff hunts winning and such. So, but I like to believe I would never, I remember being the first two years and these guys talking about Cabo and being like, these fucking guys don't, like, this is football. Like, you need to understand.
Starting point is 00:39:34 Like, this is all got type of mentality. Yeah. These older guys might be looking at that way. in Tennessee, but as a player, you wanna win every single game. If I'm looking at it strictly from what is going to give us the fastest and clearest path to becoming a successful franchise in the NFL,
Starting point is 00:39:52 that answer would be having the one pick. When you have the one pick and you have your first overall pick last year being the quarterback, you have a big opportunity to play teams against each other, had that game of chess, that house of cards, like we're smoking mirrors where you gain a lot of more draft equity or liquidity
Starting point is 00:40:08 and you're able to bounce back a few spots to get the guy you still want, setting yourself up for years down the road. You have to pick them right, but I'm just saying from a managerial standpoint, looking at this team, the best move is to have the first overall pick. Player, throw everything I just said out the window.
Starting point is 00:40:25 You want to win games regardless to play. Unless you're a vet, like the older guys in that locker room, everybody's absolutely planning their off-season plans. I don't think Big Jeff is, though. He seems pissed. Jeff is in a very unique situation. He's the oldest guy on the team.
Starting point is 00:40:39 He's the longest tenured guy on the team. Yeah. He is in a contract-ish year. Like he sees all these contracts happening. He comes in, body looks phenomenal. His body of work is incredible. He gets a little injured. Like, Jeff is fighting for the team to win, no doubt, because he's a competitor.
Starting point is 00:40:57 But he's also, like, that checkbook, like what that bank account look like. Because he knows where he, the level he's playing at right now, he's underpaid. And you have a, you know, a quarterback that isn't the first. contract is he's in his first contract so you don't have all this crazy money being flown to the quarterback he's in a good position to get broke really fuck off by the titans yeah i just would like for us to go for two at the end there like what do you have to lose go for the win me if i'm a fan you want to win you want to win as many games as possible but if you're sitting there the last game of the season and it's already you know you've lost every game what's the titans record right now
Starting point is 00:41:36 one and one and nine if you're sitting there at one in 15 playing the Jets. What's the Jets record right now? I think it plays a state. They're a two-win team. Let's say you guys are both two and 14 playing the last game of the season. If I'm a fan, it's the last game of season you're two and 14. I would be hopeful that we lose so that way you can have the number one overall team.
Starting point is 00:41:57 I would rather be beat straight up than to lose the way we lost yesterday. I'll never be a fan. It wishes for my team to lose. I will never be a fan that wishes my team to lose for the optimist. Yes, you can spin a positive notion on it after you've lost, Mackay, at least we have the number one pick.
Starting point is 00:42:16 But when we're playing a divisional game in Nashville, and it goes down to a last second field goal, if you're a Titans fan wishing that the Texans win, go fuck yourself. You're not a Titans fan. And right now, the way the NFL works, the number one pick, one is a lottery ticket. You have no idea who you're going to get.
Starting point is 00:42:34 Two, the way that the league, it works, it is not like it was 10 years ago. Pick one and pick three, four, and five can all be same. There are guys who were six-round picks that are better than the first-round picks. Each year, there's a first-round pick that goes to the Hall of Fame. There's also a first-round pick that's a bust and leaves the league in two years. I'm not like, I'm not devastated that we lost on a last second field goal. There's positives to spin, but I'm in that stadium wishing that we beat the Texans
Starting point is 00:43:05 because it's a divisional game. He despise the Texans. They were flooding our city. Losing does not build culture. What our team lacks is culture. We have nothing to stand on there. So we need sometimes those kind of wins. And yeah, look, there's an argument where if it's the last game of the year and, you know, it's basically the loser's going to get the first round pick.
Starting point is 00:43:28 That's something. There's still a handful of games left to where I don't want to have that conversation. But yeah, it's brutal to take that loss to a divisional game. and I just I hate when people bank on the tanking aspect because you have no idea what's going to play out
Starting point is 00:43:44 we had the first round pick right now there's so many issues a win could do our city a lot of good you just need guys to buy in more and yeah
Starting point is 00:43:55 Big Jeff was fucking furious there were a lot of weird calls to I mean that game was excruciatingly boring up until about 10 minutes left that's the thing about your team
Starting point is 00:44:07 though if your team is born to watch it's still your team so every play is exciting it's the person that's not a fan of the titans watching the titans being like why the fuck are we watching the titans i mean it was not it was not excited to watch at all it was 3-0 until the third quarter and it was six oh it's just yeah yeah i'm with you win as many as you can my question is more of like if you get to the last game yeah last game that's a conversation say they're tied two and 14 you're almost like Because again, you're like, yeah, you're right. It's a lottery ticket. You never know who's going to win what.
Starting point is 00:44:39 But Tennessee, knowing that they have their quarterback of the future, you have the first overall pick. There's a team out there that wants a quarterback badly, so you have a leverage to get more draft capital. For sure. If it's the Jets, like if you have the number two overall pick and they have the one, they need a quarterback, you know they're going to take a quarterback. Whoever you want is still going to be there.
Starting point is 00:44:59 So I feel like if you're right. But if you're a team later in the round and you want a quarterback and you want a deal, you're going to call the first overall pick in the draft knowing that the Jets are sitting right there. They want a quarterback. Hey, we need to go up and get our guy. We think he's the guy. You pick up the phone and call Tennessee, and that's when you start wheeling and dealing. And Tennessee could be in a spot to where they have the leverage to shop that first overall pick.
Starting point is 00:45:21 The huge positive that the Titans are sitting in right now is if you do have a top five pick, you're one of probably you're one of the only teams that don't need a quarterback. You've picked your quarterback. So if you're sitting at one, Jets are two, they need a quarterback. Miami will probably need a quarterback. The Saints will probably need a quarterback. Who else am I forgetting about? Minnesota.
Starting point is 00:45:44 Hey, but honestly, if it keeps going that way, Minnesota might want a quarterback. It just depends on their patience. I mean, they have Will Howard. Yeah, Will Howard. But still, you never know. You have all these teams right behind you that want a quarterback, and there's going to be two, maybe three guys that guys look at and they're like, this is our dude, Fernandumendomendez. Danty Moore, Ty Simpson is another individual.
Starting point is 00:46:07 And it's like if you know your guy is, insert one of those names, you have to call the number one pick to ensure you're going to get that guy. That's where as a Titans fan and the ability to look at it, like we need the number one overall pick is, if you're sitting at three, four, or five, your leverage is now gone. And you're able to get multiple first round picks
Starting point is 00:46:26 for the future because they're taking a massive gamble that this is our quarterback for the future. That's what we want. And then you pull back to five, You have two extra picks going to the next year and you're able to get Caleb Downs, who's the first person that's sitting on the screen in front of us or this tackle, which I don't think you think a tackle dude.
Starting point is 00:46:42 Carson back. You take a quarterback? Two Miami quarterbacks back to back. But you're able to get your guy and draft capital. That's where, and then again, Jack, everything you're saying, like there's always, there's gonna be a Hall Fame guy in there, there's gonna be a bust in there.
Starting point is 00:46:58 That's what the draft is. It is the lottery you're gonna find out, hey, how good is our front office? That's why you pay them all the money. That's why this guy came from the chiefs to make those decisions. But you get the guy you want. You get this Jordan Tyson kid from Arizona State
Starting point is 00:47:11 or whoever it is. It's like, holy shit, look at the pieces we're putting together. Free agency was a few months before that. You can make a huge turnaround faster having the first overall pick. We're talking to Jack right now. There's still a handful of games left. Handful. Handful of games.
Starting point is 00:47:26 There's seven games left. I think the guy you want it to two probably. Yeah, I think one through four. We're talking about. We're talking about leverage. That's all we're talking about. You win the games. That's great, but now you're sitting at 3, 4, 4.
Starting point is 00:47:38 Well, 1, 2, 3 and 4, they want a quarterback. You're not a position to be like, you want your guy. You can come up right to here, and when we're back to 3 4 spaces. Yeah. I mean, look, I'm not upset that we lost. Obviously, like, part of me is like, dang, wish we would have. But in the moment in that game, there's no part of me that is actively rooting for us to lose. I agree.
Starting point is 00:47:57 And that's how you should be respect. But, yeah, when it's all done, I sit here on the bus, I'm like, hey, we're good. One game, whatever. And it'd be great if we get the number one pick. I would love that. We're obviously in a continual rebuild right now. But yeah, I'm not going to actively root against my team ever. The win that you guys are, the situation you guys have is if you don't get the right coaching, it doesn't matter.
Starting point is 00:48:18 That's where it starts. Where's the we? If we don't get the right coaching, we're fucked. I know. Absolutely cooked, done. McCoy's most likely finishing out the rest of the season. but yeah it's there's a lot and uh i i drove by the new stadium for the first time damn jack first time i mean is this not close enough to the mic i don't know probably not for
Starting point is 00:48:43 mitch not for mitch i mean i so if i'm i don't even know what i was saying you drove by the new stadium you drove by the new stadium for the first time yeah anyways the stadium is starting to look beautiful they put it all the glass windows which is really nice and you know time is ticking, 27. If we don't have stuff figured out, it's, if you think the conversations we've been having
Starting point is 00:49:05 this year as Titans fans are difficult, just wait till we're in a really shiny new play toy box and we are god awful. It's not going to be good, but we have time. But we have time.
Starting point is 00:49:18 The way you looked up at me and said time, man, I felt that hope. It's on Amy. She's got a... How about Elaine Kiffin? I do not want a college coach. I'm with you, bro.
Starting point is 00:49:31 I'm with you. Shut it down. Yeah. Shut it down. You want to get Joey Freshwater back in Nashville? Yeah, way too many Bachelorette parties out there for Joey Freshwater to just be running around.
Starting point is 00:49:47 Way too many noon games for Sunday to have the empty slates. Sunday night, go out, do whatever you want. I don't know. I mean, it'd be exciting. Yeah. Arthur Muzzy Smith. dude I'm telling you wouldn't hate it wouldn't hate it got to have a guy in here that
Starting point is 00:50:04 understands the process what what what oh yeah yeah you get the head coach he brings in his guys but yeah I dude it's tough because you guys you're not picking from the top either the Giants are going to get their first pick who else who else fired their coach Dolphins most likely will fire their coach who knows if Stephancy's going to be there in the Browns I'm putting salt in the wound let's move on Hey, how about the Niners? Man, once again, man. Brock Purdy.
Starting point is 00:50:38 Sneaky three-lost team. Sneaky three-lost team. Sc sneaky. Kyle Shanahan, sneaky in that coach of the year conversation. I know, man. And Purdy balled, 200 yards, three touchdowns? Yeah, he did have a great catch. Dude, the Niners.
Starting point is 00:50:51 And, yeah, Purdy, this is the bigger story to come out of there. Is all the question marks of is Matt Jones, the guy? I'm fired up for Purdy. Fired up for Purdy. Friend of the show. Yeah, friend of the show. Yeah, he absolutely. They could be a team that peaks at the right time, too.
Starting point is 00:51:04 Yeah. Because they're still getting all used to each other and having healthy guys back on offense. Obviously, defense is injured, but y'all know it's all about peaking at the right time, and they definitely are far from peaking. Far from peaking. And the NFC West is crazy, too.
Starting point is 00:51:19 Yeah, it really is. Even, I mean, I know the Cardinals got decimated. I don't even watch their game. Oh, they played the 49ers. I know they got decimated against the Seahawks three before, and they didn't do well here, but they are, like, sneaky competitive. at times.
Starting point is 00:51:33 Brissette. Brissette. Had a couple nice balls out there. There's just a handful of teams out there that can ruin your Sunday. Yeah. Like the dolphins, the Cardinals. Like, they could pull off and win against any good team. And it shakes everything else out of the Panthers.
Starting point is 00:51:47 Look at the Niners' upcoming schedule. Yeah, they got the Panthers. They got the Browns. They're in the playoffs. Yeah. Can you bring up the NFC standings? That is great. Are we, can we just get a thought on the Seahawks?
Starting point is 00:52:04 Do we think less of them as a team now because they lost to the Rams? No. Okay, I feel the same exact way. Four interceptions, missed game-winning field goal. And had an opportunity to win it at the end. I think if they played that game again, I'm taking the Seahawks. I think the Seahawks won that or lost that game more than the Rams won it. Yeah, I mean, the four picks.
Starting point is 00:52:25 And as bad as the situations that they were in, the way the defense was showing up around the goal line, it was cinema, bro. Absolutely. You talking about just goal line defense? Bro, it's nuts. It's just man versus man. Yeah, that's just manvers, man. You get picks and you're kind of pin. Like, you're just in a brutal spot.
Starting point is 00:52:44 You're at a disadvantage, like when the offense is, like, down inside of your own 30 or 20. And it's like, all right, boys, you got to strap up and play. And to either, you know, hold them to a field goal, bail them out, whatever it is. Like, it's just a massive win. And it's fun watching defenses, like a defense like Seattle fly around and still take pride and not feel like, oh, fuck, we threw a pick. Like, they're probably going to go in school. Yeah, there's nothing more like momentum changing than getting a pick inside your own 50 But there's nothing more deflating as a team than when that pick happens and you guys go three and out
Starting point is 00:53:16 That is that might be worse than the momentum shift of getting the pick Yeah Like the other team's like you know it kind of doesn't matter what we do on offense like our defense came too fucking played today Yeah, that's the kind of stuff and the Rams defense was flying around as well like I just enjoyed watching that game like both defenses. The way the young defensive line for the Rams got after Sam Darnel, like getting pressure to him, like getting fast in his face. He's throwing balls. D.Bs are already breaking on the ball, picking it off. Yeah, these two teams. I don't think any less. I don't think any less of a top one next week. Oh, we have a tier talk right here from at Nutty X professor, Jeremy
Starting point is 00:53:52 Kloom. Now that Wilcompton is one in seven betting against the Philadelphia Eagles on the locker room, will he stop betting against them? Hashter teard teardtot. Look, I've taken an ass beating against the Philadelphia Eagles. I've been, I've personally been chasing ghosts, like things that I think are there with Philadelphia. Everybody has. They're not showing up. Like that game last night against the Lions did not go at all the way I thought it would. What were the lines like, oh for five on fourth down?
Starting point is 00:54:15 And every time they kept missing, there was one time I'm like, man, just kick a field goal. Move on. Yeah, yeah. I think they were on the four-yard line and went for it on fourth and four. And I'm like, I guess take the points here. I know Greg Olson hates that. But yeah, look, I'm a loser betting against the Philadelphia Eagles. right now. That's the only thing that I can say.
Starting point is 00:54:34 Like, I still think their offense is average. Their defense is elite. They play like this the rest of the year. Jordan Davis, Jalen Carter, Cooper DeGine. Even Dorie Jackson played a good game last night. Quignon Mitchell, Reed Blanketship, Zach Bonn, Jalen Phillips,
Starting point is 00:54:50 Campbell number 30, the linebacker from Bama. The way that that unit played last night against the Lions, who is arguably one, they are one of the best offenses in the NFL. The way they shut them down, it was impressive. And again, just they do enough on offense. But I've been taking an absolute ass beating against the Eagles this year. I'm a loser betting against the Eagles.
Starting point is 00:55:09 I like the Cowboys this weekend. I was going to say you're in a unique spot because the minute you go away from the Eagles or go towards the Eagles and join the bandwagon, that's when they lose. Yeah, they're like, look, we don't want you over here. I'm like, listen, I'm not going over there. Your time will come. It just hasn't happened yet. You stuffed it down my throat.
Starting point is 00:55:29 But right now, I like the way. Yeah, they've spent some. spitting in my mouth. They've been giving me those yeah. The Jamar Chase Lugie's just going down my throat. God bless man. They really,
Starting point is 00:55:41 I don't understand it. At this point it's just like, yeah, we just got to assume they're going to keep winning and then pray they lose in the playoffs. We're forgetting the biggest factor of the Philadelphia Eagles. Big Dom
Starting point is 00:55:52 who set up the meeting between Jeffrey and AJ Brown. He's the godfather of Philadelphia. He's out of the godfather. He said, AJ don't go against the family anymore. I think the Eagles, they needed Big Dom to do that. Who is the report that broke that down?
Starting point is 00:56:06 Sal Powell. Yeah, Sal Powell. The way he was breaking it down, Diana Rusini writes a piece on Jalen Hurts and what's going on inside that offense. And I'm thinking bingo. But yeah, Sal Pal. I'm thinking bingo. Sal Powell breaks it down like a meeting that happened last Thursday between AJ and the owner on the field.
Starting point is 00:56:22 He's like in his 30 years of covering this team. He's never seen anything like it. And a lot of the credit goes under the radar, but he goes by all these different titles. I was like, operations director of this assistant head coach, you all of the stuff. It's Big Dom. And he's like, this is the godfather saying, hey, you got to stop going against the family. Message was received.
Starting point is 00:56:42 But yeah, Big Dom is out there putting out fires day in and day out with Philadelphia. Big Dom. Good guy to have his number on your phone. And luckily we do. Oh, yeah. Yeah. He's worth giving a call to this week. He's worth giving a call.
Starting point is 00:56:56 We should have had him on. Should have him on the bus. When he retires, bro, he will absolutely be on the bus. He said he's down. He said he's down to come on the bus, maybe this off season. Some of the things he was telling us that can't in a way he could say half those things, well. He's going to have to. Like if you're the Eagles, you're like, do not go on that podcast.
Starting point is 00:57:14 And they would call him like, he can't go. We would have to sit there and be like, we absolutely understand and agree. How do we even know that the Eagles can tell him what to do? He tells the Eagles what to do. Exactly. He is the Eagles. Yeah. He's one of them.
Starting point is 00:57:25 Maybe he owns the team. We just don't know it. Yeah, he's the shot collar You gotta get him a statue For real They go and win it this year It's like you just got to put a Dom up man Just put up a Dom at every Philly
Starting point is 00:57:40 Cheesesteak spot in Philly God damn Dom is the man And I love how he was getting so much hate too Like he was kicked out of a game Was against the Giants last year He was like kicked out of a game Suspended 49ers 49ers
Starting point is 00:57:52 49ers suspended people started hanging like this guy He's a fucking he's a kook He's just ripping around doing whatever and then this year happens and now it's like oh no this guy is actually the reason why it's keeping all these unique personalities together while serian is just like we're just gonna keep winning she's gonna keep winning big dom man how about the ravens man what what's their deal what is their fucking deal they're gonna keep winning they're gonna win the afc north barely beat the browns should her sanders plays had put up an absolute stat line four for 16 47 yards
Starting point is 00:58:24 into the interception that's his uh look welcome to the nflm moment he's got going. Forge and fire. And you know that when Stefani goes, all right, put him in, he's like, I'm about to light these motherfuckers up. He was like, this is the time. People are finally going to find out about me. Then go your way, Bob.
Starting point is 00:58:40 But listen. Keep swinging. Yeah. Full week of preparation. You know, depending on Dylan Gabriel and the concussion protocol and everything else, but him having a full week of preparation, is him going to be the guy? Is him going to be the guy? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:58:55 Is he going to be the guy? I could see a T. Lateef game coming out right here. He gets thrown in at USC, kind of like, oh, you know, he had this weird little stat line. Then boom, it goes out to LCA, UCLA and wrecks him. Rexum. This can be sure they're Sanders next week. But T.J. Lateef, also the few games he did play in bald, didn't he?
Starting point is 00:59:12 He's played in one game. But he did well. Yeah, after he went into USC and kind of fumbled a one that we were going to take to the house, kind of like, oh, we were going to, you know, miss Riala. It's like T.J. Lateef, can he play the rest of the year? What a game. Are we about to end six and six? or whatever the record would have been.
Starting point is 00:59:28 What a game the Browns have coming up at the Raiders. He's going to go off. The perfect game for Shadur Sanders to cause some chaos. Crazy. That's what I'm saying. Gino versus Shadur legacy game. Legacy game. I'm room for him.
Starting point is 00:59:43 I hope he goes off. I hope he does too. My question on Shador. What do you think about he got sacked for the first time and Hamilton hit the Shador? I saw Twitter going off about how it's crazy that he's done nothing in the NFL. but still NFL defenders still want to like mock his celebration and stuff. I mean, he was so, did he was so pulled. Yeah, that's just the game, bro.
Starting point is 01:00:02 Yeah, a lot of people, even when they're not playing the Titans, I've seen a couple guys hit one of those. And it's like, oh. I think that's a new one, but yeah. Swag of swag, dude. Yeah, that stuff goes like you got defensive players doing it. Like that's like the new first down. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:00:16 I feel like people hit that on first down now. We got all these celebrations that happen after. Yeah. But yeah, that's like you're sacked and welcome to the NFL. Stand up over them. Give the shit her Sanders. as you show it. Hit the cello, yeah. Yeah. We had a game in 2015 when Zach Bentonberger got, oh, maybe 14, Zach Bentonberger got the start against the Titans and he's had a Snapchat.
Starting point is 01:00:38 And a Snapchat is him with a headband and a mustache. And the caption is, this is my fucking team now. And it's like one of those. Jay J.J. Watt sacked him in the game, hit him with the selfie. So pettiness goes a long way. Yeah. Dude. It was like a little piece of news hitting around. Yeah. Like Zach Bentenberger. Do you have the standings, Shirm? Yes. I had it pulled up one sec.
Starting point is 01:01:02 One thing we should talk about with the Browns, too, is just Miles Garrett, defensive player of the year. Like, clear favor right now. Had another monster game. He is. How many sacks do they have in the year? 14. 15?
Starting point is 01:01:13 Double digits. They said six straight season over 12 seconds. I mean, Miles Garrett is a freak. Freak, bro. And he handles his pressers so well. How do he sit there and they're like, he would trade all five. of those sacks for one win. That's like, that's exactly what you need your dude to ball out.
Starting point is 01:01:30 Yeah. Like if he sat there and was like, I'm the man. It's like, oh, fuck, dude, you guys are losing. But he's just handling things so well right now. He should get on the ball on offense. Shirm, you can bring up just the NFC standings, not the division. 15 sacks for Miles Garrett. Type in NFC standings.
Starting point is 01:01:51 Yeah, hit conference. Who you got, who you got making the playoffs right now? That's a great question. without looking at schedules I see the Packers dropping out and the lines being where they're at You think the Packers don't make the playoffs? Well, I forgot that these Bears are winning their division right now
Starting point is 01:02:22 Is there a playoff picture, one, Cherm? If you scroll up on ESPN. Top eight. Yeah, it's just... Yeah, it hit playoff next to standings. Yeah. It breaks down the tiebreakers then. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:02:37 Oh, nice. It's the same exact thing. same exact thing I love the bears and how they've been playing I don't see them winning that division I see the lions winning that division and then it's between the bears and the Packers
Starting point is 01:02:56 I think who gets that that wild card spot I could I could absolutely see the Panthers sneaking into a wild card spot there are a team you do not want to play they're so up and down right yeah because it's like
Starting point is 01:03:10 the NFC West I think is the number one division I can see three coming out out. Yeah, I see. Over the north. Yeah, I see them. NFC West having three teams in there with the Niners, the Rams in Seattle.
Starting point is 01:03:26 Yeah. Then you got the Eagles. Then you got the Bucks. But again, it's like what's going to happen with the Bucks and the Panthers? But I have the Bucks won in that division. And then it's, yeah, I still got the Packers in it. I still got Packers and Lions. Packers and Lions, so you're saying one of those NFC West teams fall out?
Starting point is 01:03:47 Yeah, I would say the Niners fall out. The weird thing about the Niners is they are a team that last couple of years have been hurt and they just get more and more hurt. This is the first year they're like started really hurt and they're getting more and more healthy. Like Kittle goes down early in the year. He's now back. Purdy goes down early in the year. He's now back. So I wonder if like they're going to, if they're having their starters kind of come back in the fold less tread taking off the tires with the season.
Starting point is 01:04:16 I could see them making a jump as before the last couple years. You've seen them kind of scaled down a little bit. And then the Packers, bro, it's weird because the Lions do what they did against the Eagles. But the Eagles at this point, you just have to, you just got to bend the knee and be like, bro, you guys are really the best team in the NFC right now until somebody says differently. You've beaten the Lions. You've beaten the Rams. They haven't played the Seahawks, correct?
Starting point is 01:04:38 They haven't played the Seahawks, but like transitive property theory, whatever Peyton wants to talk about. Like, you beat the Rams, the Rams beat you. So that's what it is. I have more trust in the Lions than I do in the Packers. So I see the Packers falling away I see the 49ers Right I see the Lions winning the division I'm saying if it's the last spot
Starting point is 01:04:56 Out of the Packers and the Niners I just give the nod To the Packers Let's pull up the Packers schedule Packers schedule and I want to pull up And then we'll do the Niners schedule If you have the Lions winning That means the Bears will be another team fighting
Starting point is 01:05:13 For that spot then too That's true I just don't see how Right, a three-way fight between Packers, Bears, Niners. All right, so the Packers got to play the Vikings. We're going to say that's a win. The Lions Redemption Game in Detroit. I see Detroit winning that game.
Starting point is 01:05:31 At Denver. So those next two games, December 7th and December 20th against the Bears. I think that's what we're going to find out. Who's going to be that third? Because the Bears, they've been hot right now. And the Packers are so, like, they're touching go, man. It's very odd. Broncos
Starting point is 01:05:48 I mean the Broncos I can't hate on them anymore Ravens are very interesting Packers got a hard little deal Go pull up the 49ers Because they've already played Seattle once They've already played the Rams Beat the Rams
Starting point is 01:06:04 They play the Rams twice, yeah? Yes Played the Rams twice Okay 49ers Panthers Let's just say win Browns win, Titans win Colts loss Bears will find out
Starting point is 01:06:17 Seattle will find out Seems like an easier path for the 49ers Yeah, it seems like, yeah. It'll be fun. So you give the nod to the, I give the nod to the nineers over the Packers. How about the, how about the AFC? Let's go to the AFC.
Starting point is 01:06:32 You're on the same page of that Niners? I still like the Packers. Okay. I'm just thinking the Packers somehow find a way. They just got to get more consistent. Yeah. Because they have a team. How bad is Josh Jacobson degree?
Starting point is 01:06:44 Not bad. Yeah, it wasn't that bad. Okay, Denver's now sitting at number one. I see Denver winning the AFC West. I see the Patriots winning the East. Yep, the Colts win the South. The Ravens, I still believe,
Starting point is 01:06:59 are going to come and take over the Steelers. I know those are the Steelers earlier in the year. I think they go and get that done. They're another team as well that remind me of the Niners. They're injured, depleted. They're in a winner-go-home situation the rest of the year, and they're just continuing to find ways to win.
Starting point is 01:07:15 Pittsburgh is very inconsistent from an offensive standpoint and from a defensive standpoint. They played well last week or yesterday. Who knows what's going to happen the week after that? The Bills are a wild card team. The Chargers. So Broncos, Patriots, Colts.
Starting point is 01:07:35 Who you got winning the AFC North? You got the Ravens or the Steelers. I'm going to take the Ravens in that. So they bump up. Ravens. And now you have the two wildcard spots. The two wild card spots. I'm going to go bills and I'm going to go Jaguars.
Starting point is 01:07:49 Hold on. There's three there, right? Chargers and the eight? Yeah. 5, 6, 7. 5, 6, 7 in your wildcard spots. So you have three spots. And I'm telling you, bro.
Starting point is 01:08:01 Kansas City Chiefs. Like, Jacksonville, Jaguars, we both have differing opinions on them. Too inconsistent. The Chargers, too inconsistent. The thing that is like, if anyone's going to do, it's going to be the Chiefs, I agree with that because the Chiefs have shown success for so long. And if you're going to take the Chargers, the Jags, and the Chiefs and be like,
Starting point is 01:08:21 okay, which one of these teams makes it out into January into the playoffs, you've gotta sit there and say Chiefs. Now the Chiefs are in a, if you lose again, fucked. Fucked. Maybe not, that was the Jags, bro. The Jags are six and four.
Starting point is 01:08:38 Like they, beat the brakes, bro, but. I think there'll be so many things that matter when the Steelers and the Ravens play the final game of the season. That would be fun. Because if the Chiefs are sitting where you're thinking, like, you know, It's almost like whichever team loses,
Starting point is 01:08:53 that might just thrust the chiefs in based on record alone. Because Chiefs would have to end the year, like, let's just say they lose to the Colts. They don't lose another game. They're 10 and 6. Mm-hmm. Yeah. Fuck, man.
Starting point is 01:09:08 Because they got the Broncos again. Who? Chiefs do. Yeah, Chiefs at home. That game's another game I look at. I'm like, that gets played again. I think the Chiefs win that game. At this moment.
Starting point is 01:09:20 On Christmas. That game's on Christmas. Oh, JP's birthday. Birthday game. All right, let's hit a couple too. Hold on. Wildcar, what were you thinking? Chiefs don't make it.
Starting point is 01:09:32 Yeah, I don't think the Chiefs made. You get the Chargers in there, the Jags in there, so you like the way it sits right now? It's hard for me to say the Chargers, after that ass opening gets the Jags, that they'll be in it. To me, it's like it could come down to what, the Chargers or, you know,
Starting point is 01:09:46 Chargers, Steelers, Ravens. Chargers Steelers Ravens. I mean, who knows what the Texans? I mean, they have an elite defense. They could still squeak out these weird wins, just like they did against the Titans. They got the bills this week. I mean, you don't know what's going to happen in that game.
Starting point is 01:10:03 Right, the bills have to show level of consistency, too. Yeah. As far as stopping to run. Texans are just so inconsistent, and they just shoot themselves in the foot, and there's not a place you can go, that's where the Texans can win the game. Yeah, yeah.
Starting point is 01:10:18 Because their run game's not strong. They're not great at passing. Yeah, Nico Collins. They got Nico Collins, go blue. Did you see Steelers Darnell Washington absolutely beat the hell out of the entire Cincinnati defense? Doing exactly what he was drafted to do. There is. West DeVoy at West DeVoy 11 says Darnell Washington meets Will Compton.
Starting point is 01:10:42 In the out in the flat, how bad is Will's concussion? That's what it says. Hashter talk. So this guy's concussed writing about you getting concussed. Yeah, yeah. There'll be a casualty. Who's getting the casualty? I think it's going to be one of those situations
Starting point is 01:10:59 where he runs through my face and says, Night Night motherfucker like old buddy from New Orleans. Is it a tackle, though? Yeah, of course. I'm going to trip him up. It's going to look a lot like, what was his name, Rubikowski from the Packers where he ran me over, but it was, you know, solo.
Starting point is 01:11:12 Solo. Statute list for ever. Yep, yep. Internet, dude, that comes and goes. Hey, the second effort, too, by the Bengals defender, horrendous. Dude was scared Running backwards
Starting point is 01:11:25 Going to run into him Yeah kind of like Through his shoulder in there Like man I'm about to get killed Smoked There's an angle When he's running down the sideline And that last guy that comes up
Starting point is 01:11:33 To make a play And he looks like he comes up To his waist bro Yeah He's like 6 7, 320 Stop saying that That's how hell he is He's 6 7 320
Starting point is 01:11:43 We're gonna get a counter on you He's a tight end And he weighs more than I ever did Jed Keel here Hashtag Tier Tertalk Gruden to Atlanta is Rahim on the hot seat? I mean, they're three and seven right now. He seems like a great coach.
Starting point is 01:11:57 I feel like he'd be... Great vibes guy for sure. If he does, unfortunately, it can't, I think he'd be a good fit in... Pennix also is done for the season. Breaking news. Oh, really? Wow.
Starting point is 01:12:08 Pinnick's done for the season? Kirkgo Thuggins? It's not a hundred percent. He's getting a second opinion, but you know. Kirkgo Thuggins? What do you do? Me? Me?
Starting point is 01:12:17 In injury. It's not a third field goal. I know, man. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. They had two in college. Yeah, the knee injury thing for him getting fired.
Starting point is 01:12:24 I don't know who made the call on drafting him when they had Kirk, but he's always had knee problems. So I could get some of fire. I think what you'll see with Kirk is some more under center. I agree. Instead of just living in the pistol the whole time. Bejan season, man. Finally.
Starting point is 01:12:38 I mean, he had a game yesterday. Fantasy. I think he got by like 29 points. He went off, but Drake Lund did you? Drake Lennon might be the most underrated receiver in the league. Drake Lennon's banged up too, right? Yeah, he is. He just stuck.
Starting point is 01:12:51 My whole fantasy team is slowly, we just keep winning. But we are losing guys every single week. We just lose somebody. Yeah. We feel good, boys, about the recap? Yeah, feel good. All right, awesome. Shout out, Philly fans.
Starting point is 01:13:06 Shout out, Philly. But like I was telling Clump, too, like I was telling Clump, if we were in the war room, like Al-Qaeda to me, like priority number one was the Kansas City Chiefs, they've always been the number one priority. We're taking Chief's Kingdom down. It's taken a few years. Right.
Starting point is 01:13:19 No one said it'd be easy. Well, yeah. I mean, how long did it take to get a song been laundering? 20 years. 6-7? Yeah, I mean, bro. But Broncos country, we were writing. Shout out Demon for that edit last night.
Starting point is 01:13:36 It's going nuts right now. Shout out to me. Yeah, you can't honestly think that the Broncos are going to be the... Yeah, I can. Always. Early. Always. We do have to give a little credit to comp.
Starting point is 01:13:51 Like, he's had six or seven calls this year, this year where it's like, oh shit, like he kind of pulled that shit out of thin air. And it just ended up, you had one. You've had multiple in the college football, but also in the NFL where you're like, I see these two. I've had a weird little number there.
Starting point is 01:14:09 This team's going to lose this week. And everyone but you is on that team. And then one week when everybody's like, oh, Will Haste and Chiefs, I'm like, I got the Chiefs against the Lions this week. Yeah. They ended up winning that game. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:14:18 You stand on enough hills. One of them is not. Yeah, look, you'll get your... Will is undoubtedly a shotgun theory guy. Like, he's just throwing shit at the wall and seeing what sticks, but, like, we've got to kind of appreciate what has stuck this year. It's been impressive. Patriots.
Starting point is 01:14:35 Yeah. The Broncos one's really just the one. The Bronco one to me is... But honestly, like, when teams have, like, really, too, like, on a bad Thursday night game, they'll usually turn it around. Like, they did play abysmal against the Raiders, and it's like, oh, this is going to be peace.
Starting point is 01:14:51 everybody across the board chiefs but the Broncos defense is so fucking elite dude like they played out of their mind against the chiefs they did and it's like you know you just you trust the professionalism vote Bo Nicks to watch the film hard and like eliminating some of their penalties that they've been getting in the first half or in crucial situations and they went down to the first game all season they went down their first driving got points on the board yeah and this team knows that everybody doubts them too you see everybody in the post game dude you know buddy saying hey if you're going to say something about Bo Nix kind of standing on the hill for Bo Nix.
Starting point is 01:15:22 Then you see, what's his name, the left tackle or the tackle for the Broncos? Bulls. He's like, what are they going to say about us now? Like, they're motivated. They hear all this outside noise. And for a team to be, what are they nine and two right now to have that type of motivation?
Starting point is 01:15:37 They're technically number one in the UFC. Yeah, technically number one of the UFC. It's interesting, too, because you have the Patriots who are nine and two, but two completely different storylines taking place on how people are viewing them as teams. Everyone's like, look how amazing Mike Vrable is. Drake May is playing an unbelievable level. Like this defense is like all of a sudden come together. And the Broncos are like, they start slow.
Starting point is 01:15:55 They find a way to win at the end. They're only good in the fourth quarter. All things that have come out of my mouth. And they just win, man. And Bo Nicks over his first two seasons, the most fourth quarter comeback wins in NFL history. Damn. What a gamer.
Starting point is 01:16:12 How many is he at? Listen, I don't know. The numbers, I just know the statements. But if you had a guess on the numbers, what would it be? six seven yeah please subscribe unsubscribe and resubscribe use comments please if you enjoy this show please subscribe to buster with the boys we will see you in a couple hours for the college football breakdown huh huh boys yeah you feel good about it a lot of chaos any parting thoughts lane johnson out four to six weeks oh better than being out six or seven weeks yep so that's good

Starting point is 01:16:58 Go birds, man. Jeline Hertz, MVP. Clumps on it. Good value right now. 10 play callers since 2016. Usually that would be an excuse for players on why they're not good. He just wins Super Bowls, National Championships. That's all the time we have today, guys.
Starting point is 01:17:13 Please subscribe to Boston with the boys. And we will be hitting the college recap show very shortly. Big hugs, tiny kisses. Hey, it's us, the Jonas Brothers, and guess what? We have some big news. What's the news, name? Huge news. We created our own podcast called, Hey Jonas.
Starting point is 01:17:29 We invented a podcast? Well, we didn't invent it. We just contributed to our first people to do podcasts. Pretty, yeah, pretty wide range of podcasts throughout there. But this one's extra special. So how do we actually come up with a name, Hey Jonas, guys? I honestly don't remember. I think it was on a call about what we should call it.
Starting point is 01:17:46 And we were thinking I'm originally calling it one of the early names of our band before Jonas Brothers. This is how you guys remember it going down? Yes. I have a very different memory of this. We were talking about a thing, a bit for the podcast, where people could call in and say, hey, Jonas. And then I wrote down on my little notepad, Hey Jonas, and offered it up as a potential title for the podcast. But thanks for remembering that, guys. Listen to Hey Jonas on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your

Starting point is 01:20:51 Tis the season, talking about Christmas time around the corner. Sherman was rocking a little bit of four of the dads which I got myself a Michigan hat on because it is Victory Monday. Willie C's got the X-Miss T-shirt. That's very nice, by the way. A lot of the new merch drops tomorrow. Tomorrow. And Garrett's done an incredible job with that.
Starting point is 01:21:08 So if you're tier one, you want to buy in, this is the time to do it. I know there'll be some big specials coming up very, very soon. but if you want to get ahead of the chance, Phil, be my guest. College football, boys. Chaotic weekend. Chaotic weekend. A lot of Heisman talk going around. People were very pissed off about me not having Gunner Stockton
Starting point is 01:21:26 in the Heisman conversation. We got a guy who, you know, a dude coming after your boy saying, I don't like college football because I don't want, I'm saying the college football playoff is wasting spots with the ACC and G5 teams. We will get into that. SEC, Oklahoma's creating chaos.
Starting point is 01:21:47 Texas, we were this close to maximum account. All Texas needed to do was lose by a little. They didn't. They got their shit pushed in. We'll cover all that stuff. But wild weekend of college football. Let's start with your social media. So people are coming at you saying that you don't know or like college football
Starting point is 01:22:01 because the ACC and the G5 schools don't deserve to be in this year? Yeah, there's a gentleman. It looks like he can't even bench 135. You can't even have a plate. He can't even have a plate on the bar saying Will doesn't like college football. And, you know, I'm just, we need to stop having these guys being the faces of sports media, and they just like helmets, they don't like the ball.
Starting point is 01:22:20 And I'm just thinking to myself, like, what, I want the 12 best teams in the college football playoffs. Yeah. I wouldn't mind if the G, like, the only team of the G5 coming out right now that could get in is JMU, in my opinion. They lost to Louisville earlier in the year. That's been their only lost. They've handled their business on the rest of the schedule.
Starting point is 01:22:39 If they went out, sure, that one lost G5 team, can come into the college world playoff. They're going to get worked in the first round, which I don't think anybody cares to watch. Go ahead, bring them in. See what happens. Bring them in, though. Yeah, but they're a one-lost team who, again,
Starting point is 01:22:51 if you're saying Louisville, that's been their only lost by a little, sure, bring them in. But everybody else, bro, they've gotten mopped by somebody. You're like, you look at North Texas, and I took some notes. I was coming down here just to be ready. I got a little pad.
Starting point is 01:23:04 North Texas got waxed by South Florida, by like 30 points. Tulane lost a UTSA. Like, that's all you need. They lost a UTSA. University of Texas, San Antonio, for those of you who don't belong in the playoffs. They also lost to Ole Miss.
Starting point is 01:23:15 They could argue, you know, they could talk about Ole Miss, but they lost to UTSA. You're done, you're gone. Navy got killed by Notre Dame recently, got killed by him. They also lost to North Texas. San Diego State, they lost 38 to 6 to Hawaii. Hawaii. Like, these teams should not be in the college football playoffs. That's a vacation spot, not a football spot.
Starting point is 01:23:33 Yeah, as one of the, you know, as one of the best 12, these teams should not be in the college football playoff. Now, if JMU takes care of business the rest of the year, by all means, they should, get the, you know, hey, they had an awesome season. This is a one-lost G5 team. They can represent the G5 coming to the college football playoffs. They are going to get mopped. And then again, it's like the ACC.
Starting point is 01:23:51 I would have loved to have seen, you know, these teams handle all of their business and not without a shadow of a doubt they're in. Miami wanted to see them own the moment. They are in position. They'll be in position, probably a 10 and 2 team against Notre Dame who's going to be a 10 and 2 team. And you will have that game to look at, hey, Miami beat them head to head. I would not mind seeing Miami in the college football playoffs.
Starting point is 01:24:11 But Georgia Tech, they're going to get their opportunity against a school who has a shitload of momentum right now with Georgia. So we're going to get to see a game like that. If they get mopped, no, I do not want to see Georgia Tech in the college world playoff. Virginia, Virginia is a one lost team. Oh, wait, no, there are two lost team. NC State in Wake Forest. NC State is 5 and 5. And you lost the Wake Forest.
Starting point is 01:24:32 They're not that good in the ACC. So having those two losses, I don't want to see those teams in the college football playoff. I do want to see. I don't care. Like, look, I'm more of a Big Ten guy than I am SEC. But the chaos ensuing in the SEC right now, if there's five two-lossed SEC teams, I want to see them all in the college football playoffs.
Starting point is 01:24:51 There's four two-loss Big Ten or five-two-loss big-ten teams or who've lost two or less. I want to see those teams in the playoffs. And it's not, he was talking about college football elite and somebody else was like, oh, I was just disappointed, what ESPN and the College Football Commissioner,
Starting point is 01:25:05 Josh Pade has done to your brain. It's college football elitism at its finest. Like, yeah, I want to say, see these conferences. Big 12, they're going to have Texas Tech, potentially what? It could be Utah, Houston, BYU. I wouldn't mind seeing a couple of big 12 teams in. I want to see the teams where from a recruiting level, these conferences have the advantage. NIL budget is way bigger. They have more money poured into these kids. They're higher ranked recruits, but I do not want to see these teams in the ACC or the G5 who's gotten dummied by teams in their conferences who aren't
Starting point is 01:25:35 worth the shit. Yeah. Can I just real quick? Go ahead. I know I I went on a little tangent. No, no, no, it's not gonna be very long. We grew up in an era where the participation trophy was started to become a thing when we were younger. Yes or no? Yes. Okay, what is that the move?
Starting point is 01:25:51 Do we believe that the participation trophy should be given out the kids just for, you know, being a part of the season? Yes or no. No. So if you're a G5 team and you have one loss and this is more at JMU than any of these other schools, you have to do something spectacular,
Starting point is 01:26:09 a undefeated type of season, in my mind to make it into the playoffs. It might hurt. It might not be what you want to hear. But the landscape of college football and where we live right now is so much different than it was five years ago. We have teams where we have $50 million rosters
Starting point is 01:26:22 taking place. All right. Your team, JMU, I love what you guys have been able to do. It's amazing. What a feel-good story that is. To put you in the playoffs is like putting that goat on this, on the stand with the Jurassic Park
Starting point is 01:26:37 with the T-Rex that goes in all of a sudden he gets his ass fucking, murdered. Like that is just the reality of what is going to happen here. But the ACC, there's a whole lot of conversation. I think they are one of the power four teams. You'd like to see one of those teams make it in. Most likely be Miami.
Starting point is 01:26:52 They've really shit down their leg, especially having two massive wins early in the year. But if you're a G5 team and you're upset if you're 11 and 1 and don't make the playoffs, it's not about you. You have to go 12 and 0 to show that you can be competitive in this world. Now, if JMU makes it into the playoffs, they play that first game, even if they don't win that game, but they lose it by a field goal.
Starting point is 01:27:10 less than a touchdown situation, then I will bend the knee and say, hey, I was wrong on this take. However, you've got to, bro. You've got to be 12 and O and be dominating these lesser than teams if you think you're going to walk into SEC, Big 10, hell, even the Big 12 country
Starting point is 01:27:27 and be able to play competitively against these guys. When it comes to the SEC, chaos ensuing all of those things. You said there's seven teams. Those teams need to be in the playoffs. The Big 10, if everybody, it's 10 and 2 or less, those teams need to be in the playoffs. Those are the two best conferences.
Starting point is 01:27:43 Anybody else who doesn't sit there and they want a bitch and complain to moan, you had 12 opportunities to show everybody what you could do, all right? Not everyone's going to be treated equally because these conferences are not equal. Onward, I'm with you. You go back to the year when, what was it, UCF
Starting point is 01:27:57 with Scott Frost when they went undefeated and they still hung a banner. Yeah, hung a banner. That's cute. But if that team, yeah, they went undefeated. I would be screaming, yeah, they deserve a shot in the college world. Absolutely.
Starting point is 01:28:07 Like, they're undefeated. They handled their business. And to the gentleman who says, I just like helmets. I love helmets. And I think JMU has got a great helmet. I just don't, you know, again, if there are one loss, by the way, great reference on Jurassic Park. Like right there, whoever comes out of the G5, that's going to be our clip. We're bustling with the boys, drops a clip. And it's going to be the goat slowly coming out of the ground. And it's going to have probably JMU's low-go. Because any other team is not worth the shit
Starting point is 01:28:29 to be in the college football playoff out of the G-5 conferences. Right. And if you're just putting one in, let's say JMU drops another one, dude, they should not even fucking sniff one. They shouldn't even be on the bracket that says first out. It's like we got to stop doing that. Just put the 12 best teams in. These are the 12 best teams they deserve to be in onward. You know, people, they're always going to do the first ones out because they're like a little rage baited. Yeah, but first ones out shouldn't even beat jamie. Because we made the NIT bracket and they got Nebraska first one out. Okay, they're trying to get me right. Arguably, James Mason's two hardest games are their final two of conference play.
Starting point is 01:29:06 Which is great. And if they mop them, put them in. They deserve, they do, I would say they deserve to be, because they got a two score loss of Louisville. We're not going to talk about Louisville being an average or a four-loss ACC team. I'm just going to give them a benefit of doubt and say it was early in the season.
Starting point is 01:29:20 They've handled their business and mopped everybody. Go and throw them in for dumbing Washington State and Coastal Carolina. I disagree. I think they've lost their opportunity with that Louisville loss. Margin for error is that much small when you're a G5 team. That's just the reality. So let me ask you, who are you putting in if you go, So if Miami finishes 10 and 2 and Notre Dame finishes 10 and 2, who are you putting in the college?
Starting point is 01:29:40 If I'm not, JMU's going to be out, so they're both going to be in. I'm just saying if there's one slot and it comes down to Notre Dame Miami. If I had to pick one, at this point, it's going to be Notre Dame. Even though Notre Dame lost to Notre Dame, they're trending in the direction. They're playing better football. They're dominating teams. They're getting hot at the right time. You have to be able to evaluate those things.
Starting point is 01:30:02 JMU, G5, that's not even, like, that's not a part of the conversation. That's not even a thing. They're mopping these other teams. They're smaller schools. They have less money. They have less talented players. It's not a disrespectful thing. It's just the reality.
Starting point is 01:30:16 That is just the truth. Notre Dame is playing really good football right now. CJ Carr has developed. If Notre Dame and Miami played tomorrow on a neutral field, I would love to see what Fandul has to say about this. I bet you Miami is six and a half point favorites. Or sorry, Notre Dame is six and a half point favorites. On neutral field against Miami?
Starting point is 01:30:35 Yeah. So here's what I'll ask, because Miami just got done beating the shit out of North Carolina State. Who in North Carolina State beat Georgia Tech. Georgia Tech is number one in the ACCC right now or them in, it's them in Virginia. What is NC State's record? I think you just... Five and five. Okay.
Starting point is 01:30:54 Okay. But hang on. So if we're going to give recency, you're beating the best team in the ACC in Georgia Tech. NC State then gets absolutely stomped by Miami. Miami beats them 41 to 7. What if Miami done? dummies Virginia Tech and Dummies Pitt. Pitt is ranked right now.
Starting point is 01:31:11 Pitt's, yeah, they're not ranked anymore. Yeah, they got dummy by Notre Dame. I mean, the pit. You're right, yeah. Right now they, yeah, I guess these are rankings for college football playoff. Notre Dame just beat a rank, just mop the floor with a ranked pit team.
Starting point is 01:31:26 But if, say Miami does the same thing to Virginia Tech and Pitt, like 417, 4110, and they're sitting at 10 and 2, putting up over 120 in their last three games. I talk about momentum going in? That's the conversation Yeah That's the conversation
Starting point is 01:31:41 Because it's gonna be really The back half of their schedule They play USC correct Notre Dame's look great They play USC right That's their only ranked win They're their only ranked win No no no they beat Pitt as well
Starting point is 01:31:51 Okay so there's two ranked Number 22 What's Pitt's record? Well hey right Ranks ranked right Sure Rank is ranked What if Georgia Tech
Starting point is 01:32:00 Who does who does Notre Dame have They just mopped Pitt Syracuse and Stanford What if Georgia Tech Kind of hang your hat on that wins out. They beat Georgia. They play my, or would Miami be in the ACC championship game?
Starting point is 01:32:12 I think it would be Georgia Tech in Virginia. That's why Miami's kind of positioned in a spot where they can finish 10 and 2 with big time wins over the last three weeks. And then you'll be staring right at Notre Dame in Miami. But what, like, let's say Georgia Tech wins out, beats Georgia, goes to the ACC championship game, loses to Virginia. And they say it like you have that marquee win on your schedule beating Georgia. And you have Virginia, Georgia Tech.
Starting point is 01:32:36 It's not wrong in the chaos. My brain is getting so fucked up by this conversation right now. If you're Miami and you do not make it to the ACC championship, to me, that's a place where you're like, okay, like we saw where Miami kind of, they fizzled, they lost our opportunity there. Notre Dame's kind of done this. Regardless of what Miami does in these next two weeks,
Starting point is 01:32:54 it goes Notre Dame in my mind. And that is one of the benefits of being independent. You don't have to play a 13th game in the season. Can we talk about the other controversy surrounding Notre Dame on social media where was it the pick coach that basically said if we lose to Notre Dame I'm not worried about it that doesn't affect us in the conference yeah that was talked about on the locker room quite a bit oh okay okay that was a oh yeah you went you had to go do something yes that was the only reason why I said Notre Dame's covering this game probably twice yeah I said I think I said Notre Dame will
Starting point is 01:33:26 score 40 pit will will score less than 10 and I think it was 35 to 15 so I was 10 points off on that and just to go back to what Mitch is saying here Virginia is currently 9 and 2. So they beat Virginia Tech. They'll be 10 and 2. Let's say they go to the ACC championship. Georgia Tech is 11 and 1 in the ACC championship with a win over Georgia, arguably the best. Yeah, Georgia.
Starting point is 01:33:50 Ohio State's the best team, but arguably like the best team playing in the SEC right now. They play in Athens, too. They play in Athens. No, I thought they play in Atlanta. Yeah, it's a neutral site. It's a neutral site. It's always a neutral site. But let's just say Georgia Tech beats takes down Georgia.
Starting point is 01:34:04 Georgia Tech goes into the ACC. championship against a 10 and 2 Virginia team. Virginia beats Georgia Tech. Now Georgia Tech's 11 and 2. Virginia is 11 and 2 and Miami is 10 and 2. This is potential. Again, I am pro chaos. So I would love the chaos to happen.
Starting point is 01:34:20 Right. And we're just having a, we're having a brainstorm, we're having a think tank right now. My thought in that is if you're Georgia Tech and you beat Georgia at a neutral site regardless, it's in Atlanta, so it's like, you know, I think that game holds the most weight out of everything else that takes place in the ACC. If you lose the ACC championship,
Starting point is 01:34:38 the committee has already said, we don't hold a lot of value in the ACC. I think if you're Georgia Tech and you're 11 and one and you beat Georgia, you're in, you're in. You can hold that win over Georgia and point out what Georgia just did to Texas, how well they played this year, who they've had to play and beat.
Starting point is 01:34:56 And is it clear, like Georgia Tech here's like, here is our ticket to the chocolate factory right there. Yeah. And Miami is out, but Virginia and both Virginia Tech in. Not tech. Virginia. Oh my fault, Georgia Tech.
Starting point is 01:35:09 Georgia Tech and Virginia are in because Virginia wins the ACC Championship. But are you already in if you win the ACC championship? Yeah. Yeah, it's an auto bid. Yeah, it's an auto bid. That's the chaos. That's the chaos. So then Notre Dame, are they now getting pushed because of those two?
Starting point is 01:35:25 Right? That would be nuts. Notre Dame gets pushed out of the playoff because Georgia Tech and Virginia? The way I'm talking about the Big Ten the SEC, even the, you know, Big 12 is kind of playing itself out. But the way I'm talking about these three conferences and dumbing the ACC and G5, I would be so pissed off at Georgia at the Bulldogs for losing that game against Georgia Tech. You know what I mean? It's like, because if that chaos happens, it's like, yeah, Virginia Tech and Georgia Tech, like, they got to both be in.
Starting point is 01:35:54 Georgia Tech beat Georgia. You keep saying Virginia Tech. You mean Virginia. Sorry, sorry, sorry. You're good. Virginia and Georgia Tech. Virginia and Georgia Tech. They do have to be in because Georgia Tech beat a team with a shitload of momentum right now coming out of the ACC play in Georgia. And Georgia will be ranked, what, four, maybe three after what A&M did? Huh? Georgia's going to beat that. Bro, rivalries are so weird.
Starting point is 01:36:18 I think so, too, JP. And again, that's why I would be so pissed off if Georgia Tech happens to get that win. Happens to get that dub. Could Georgia miss the playoff if they lose to Georgia Tech? And then Georgia Tech loses the ACC championship showing that maybe a two-lossed Georgia. shouldn't be in the playoff as well. They could, but I mean, you're going to have,
Starting point is 01:36:38 what's going to happen is a couple of these two lost SEC teams are going to be out, and they'll all have beaten somebody or a common opponent or each other. So it's going to be nothing but, which we love, chaos. Hey, it's us, the Jonas brothers, and guess what?
Starting point is 01:36:51 We have some big news. What's the news, huge news? We created our own podcast called, Hey, Jonas, we invented a podcast? Well, we didn't invent it. We just contributed to it. We're the first people to do podcasts.
Starting point is 01:37:03 Yeah, pretty wide range of podcasts throughout there. But this one's extra special. So how do we actually come up with a name, Hey Jonas, guys? I honestly don't remember. I think it was on a call about what we should call it. Well, we were thinking I'm originally calling it one of the early names of our band. Before Jonas Brothers was... This is how you guys remember it going down?
Starting point is 01:37:27 Yes. I have a very different memory of this. We were talking about a thing, a bit for the podcast. People could call in and say, hey Jonas. And then I wrote down on my little notepad, Hey Jonas, and offered it up as a potential title for the podcast. But thanks for remembering that, guys. Listen to Hey Jonas on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcast. Just listen. We don't care where you hear it.
Starting point is 01:37:49 The story I've told myself about love or relationships can then shape my behavior. And that can lead me to sabotage the possibility of connection. This Mental Health Awareness Month, tune into the podcast. We're a podcast deeply well with Debbie Brown and explore the journey of healing, self-discovery, and returning to yourself. We explore higher consciousness, emotional well-being,
Starting point is 01:38:14 and the practices that help you find clarity, peace, and self-mastery in a world that can feel overwhelming. The world is becoming lonelier. We're not becoming more social and connected. We're becoming more individualized, but we actually meet people in connection. If you've been searching for a soft place to land while doing the work to become whole.
Starting point is 01:38:36 This podcast is for you to hear more. Listen to deeply well with Debbie Brown from the Black Effect Podcast Network on the Iheart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcast. What's up, fam? It's Isaiah Thomas. And I'm C.J. Toledano, and our podcast Point Game is about defying the odds. Like LeBron heading into the playoffs without Luca and Austin Reed. And finding ways to win no matter what.
Starting point is 01:39:00 He's the smartest player to ever play the game. His IQ is at a level that we've never seen before. And he knows without Luca and Austin Reeves, I got to manipulate the game. We get a player's perspective on the challenges of the playoffs. I think Joker's going to be exhausted this series because when they don't have Rudy in the lineup, he has to really guard guys like Nas Reid.
Starting point is 01:39:21 He has to guard Julius Randall. And then he has to give us everything he gives us on the night-to-night basis on offense. And when IT's friends stop by, like Quentin Richardson, we dive into some playoff history too. Steve Nash would get that thing That man, hell get the flying. He running up the court, licking his fingers
Starting point is 01:39:37 why he got the ball, like, after you go through a training camp with that, Izaa, you figure it out real quick. Get your ass up and down the court, and you're going to get the ball. So listen to Point Game on the Iheart radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. Chaos.
Starting point is 01:39:53 But then that's when you would have to argue, okay, is it too lost Georgia team or whatever it would be for them worse than some of these other teams that you're talking about might get in? No. Not at all. You also, well,
Starting point is 01:40:08 I know like a massive homer here, but we're looking at Michigan if they beat Ohio State, like they're in. Where do you? What is your, like they are, they are in. Yeah, no, you're right.
Starting point is 01:40:18 And so now you've got this 11, 12 mission's going to just like, how'd you guys here? We're like, we don't fucking know. You guys got here too? Like, holy shit, we're in this thing?
Starting point is 01:40:27 Like, and now you've got these SEC teams. Her two lost teams getting marked and Michigan's just like, fuck yeah, we're in. That's what we do. How are you feel? Because right now in the Big Ten, you got Ohio State, Indiana.
Starting point is 01:40:40 Yep. Their chances are pretty much locked. Then you got Oregon, USC, which Oregon and USC play this weekend, a lot of implications on that game. If USC wins, now Oregon's a two-loss big ten team. And then you got Michigan sitting at eight and two. Were you feeling as far as, you know, how confident you feel about beating Ohio?
Starting point is 01:41:00 I mean, buddy, like, very confident. Like, if you look at our team last year to this year, like, we're light years ahead of where we were. Last year, this time, we were 500. We were 500 to end the season seven and five. And we had zero pass game. And people want to, you know, Bryce Underwood had himself a two series. He had a game where it was like, okay, that's a freshman.
Starting point is 01:41:23 That's a rookie. Yeah. But if you just look at the stat line, you're looking at Bryce being like, oh, this kid, he really shit the bed. dude you're why if you're a michigan fan watching that game the first half that we should have we should have had a touchdown got called back for a holding we should have made a field goal could have should would us we'll just throw it out the window bryce was throwing the ball very well he was making decisions being decisive when he got into itself a pinch people were covered he was running for first downs like
Starting point is 01:41:47 played very very very well our offense like very very balanced at no point last year did you watch the michigan wolverines and go there's a balanced football club right there like our our defense only gave up points to Northwestern because our offense shot ourselves in the foot. Like we had a snap exchange issue. We had a punt. By the way, did you guys see this punt return fumble? Samaj Morgan, and I tweeted it out earlier, dude, I feel so bad for this kid. Love his mentality.
Starting point is 01:42:14 Love the individual. He's got the gifts. It hasn't gone his way. He muffs a punt. And then he falls on the ball. There's a big scrum to see who's going to get it. It turns out Samaj Morgan comes out when he has the ball in his hand. But this, and I'm just.
Starting point is 01:42:28 just pointing out this is a woman referee. She's a female. So you guys can see the line, it'd be like, oh, that's the one. If I'm going to say somebody, I'm going to point out based on things, right? It has nothing to do with her being a woman. It's the fact that, hey, she's a woman.
Starting point is 01:42:40 So you guys see her. She comes in before you can even tell what's going on. She starts pointing Northwestern right away. They showed the replay. Samaj drops the punt on the 20 yard line, drops the punt, lands on the punt, and then shows up with the punt. And it's like, what are we doing here?
Starting point is 01:42:57 But because the call was on the field, was Northwestern ball, they ended up getting that. They walked away with that with three points. So our defense is playing it at a very elite level. Go back to the question. Ohio State and Michigan. I believe Michigan is so much better than we were last year. Ohio State, I think, is more well-rounded and more complete than they were last year.
Starting point is 01:43:20 But they're not as explosive. They're not as scary on the opposite side of the ball. You guys see Jeremiah Smith walking around? He looks like me right now, walking around with this boot on my foot. He is hobbling. He's hurt. Cardinal Tate, he was hurt a little bit. They are getting a little beat up.
Starting point is 01:43:34 I feel more confident than I ever have about this game going into the last week of November. I respect it. I mean, dude, and it's like last year I sat there and I was like, hey, we're going to win. We're going to win. And it's like you got the homer you got the biased. After last year being 20 and a half point underdogs, like, I'm sitting here telling you guys, hey, we're going to win the game. And a lot of you guys are like, probably. Four in a row.
Starting point is 01:43:58 and we beat them at home without a passing game. It's like, here's where Ohio State can beat us. Brian Hartline. Brian Hartline, if he doesn't listen to Ryan Day, hold on. If he doesn't listen to Ryan Day and play this, we're tougher than you ball, which they tried to do last year,
Starting point is 01:44:17 that's when things can get very dicey for the Michigan Wolverines. That being said, man, we are a way better ball club than when we were last year. Like, day and night better. Does Matt Patricia make you a little more? nervous this year. Here's what, here's where it doesn't. Going against a freshman. Here's what doesn't.
Starting point is 01:44:32 Dude is like, how do you beat a great defense? Run the ball. Like run the ball downhill. You have six freshmen starting on the Michigan offense. Six freshmen. One's a wide receiver who had 186 yards receiving last week. One's our quarterback. Three of them are on the offensive line.
Starting point is 01:44:49 Three of them. I did not know that. Like, and buddy, they are just getting better. Well, you have three sacks in this game. One was a coverage sack. Two of them were they ran. this we called the NFL past 13 pop. It's where you gap scheme the tackle on the right side. He's one-on-one, but the guard pulls, and they brought pressure into it. Like, they scheme that
Starting point is 01:45:08 play better than we did. We ran that play twice. They brought guys down. So to me, it's like, that's not on the offensive line. That's a, hey, we're moving chess moves. They happen to call a better play than we did. This offensive line is playing so much better. And our defense, bro, here's where Northwestern was very close. And Northwestern's a hell of a ball club. that our defense we sat a bunch of guys like you look at jason barram he probably played 15 snaps more probably played 30 snaps they really to start playing the game a lot until it was like getting really really close but even then like we have two linebackers that are out i think one kind of was sparingly jumping snaps like we had a lot of guys not playing because we overlooked this team a little
Starting point is 01:45:45 bit still end up with up five turnovers and still won the game like it's just we're cockroaches bro we're the cockroaches the big 10 yeah are you potentially overlooking going to Maryland. Dude, here's the thing. And I said this in 23. This is going to be the hardest game of the year. This is the hardest game of the year. He got close to doing it with Northwestern.
Starting point is 01:46:04 No doubt. Hey, bro. No fucking doubt. Purdue. Yeah. Purdue, you watch that game. You're like, you're never really feeling like, okay, they're going to take over. It's just a lot closer than it should be.
Starting point is 01:46:15 With Northwestern, like, they were up. And we had to go, like, put a drive together. And bruddy, Bryce had a throw on third and 10 to Andrew Marsh. right in the bucket, dude, on the sideline Marshall's an NFL catch. It was gorgeous. Walk on freshman after Jordan Marshall goes down with the shoulder. Walk on freshman. Bullying guys as the line of scrimmage is moving.
Starting point is 01:46:39 And it's like, yeah, there's a lot of things to look at that and be like, holy shit, we should be nervous. But there's a lot of things that you look at me like, most teams lose a game. You have five turnovers. Most teams deal with a freshman quarterback. We didn't. And it's like, this Maryland, hopefully you get so much of a scare from Northwestern. You go to Maryland this week. it's a completely different team.
Starting point is 01:46:56 I expect it not to be. Expect it to be a one-score game. Don't even know what the line is. It's going to be a one-score game. It's going to be tight. It's going to be shit myself the whole time. It's 10-5. Maryland plus 10-and-a-half.
Starting point is 01:47:07 That's the play of the week. It's just going to be scary. And then we hammer Michigan Money Line the week following. Hammer, boys, responsibly. I love seeing the psyche. It's like I got to, I get to watch myself talking about Nebraska. But do you not see it? Listen.
Starting point is 01:47:25 I can see it. Like what I just said, I'm like witnessing. I think it's fascinating, the compartmentalizing of not thinking about the product that's been on the field with tight games with Purdue, with Michigan State, with Northwestern, probably going to be Maryland. And it's like, Maryland. And in your brain, it's we're so much better because we can throw the ball this year against Ohio State. And just for that reason alone, we're a better team. Like, I feel as confident as ever. We're a better football team for sure.
Starting point is 01:47:53 So again, I respect it. Because I'm sitting there, it's like, you think with all these freshmen you got and you're like run the football, it's like you're on your third string running back. Wait, no, no, Jordan Marshall, he'll be fine. Sharon already said, he's going to be good. And there's a rumor swirling that Justice Hayes will be back for the Ohio State game. It's light right now. And just to touch on Matt Patricia, I think when everybody talks about Ohio State hasn't been tested, you know, Dan Arlowski's like, let's see him what they're like. if a game's close to the fourth quarter.
Starting point is 01:48:25 Like Matt Patricia, this acquisition in the offseason, and him being the defensive coordinator for Ohio State has been the absolute X factor. Like this is the best defense in the country. Like, yeah, I'm with you on, you know, when are we going to see, like, you know, when they do when Ohio State does get challenged, what are they going to be like?
Starting point is 01:48:42 But this defense is legit, bro. They're not going to challenge when Matt Patricia's the decorting. That's what I'm saying. Like, we might have, yeah, you can have a close game, but what offense, like Georgia's got a great offense that's humming right now? Now, Alabama's a little too one-dimensional. We'll get to see them against Indiana in the Big Ten Championship.
Starting point is 01:48:59 No. We might not. It might be Michigan. If Michigan beats Ohio State, we will be in the Big Ten championship. But let's, in this hypothetical world, if Ohio State is playing Indiana in the Big Ten championship, we'll get to see. Oregon has one loss in the Big Ten. We have one loss in the Big Ten. If we beat Ohio State, we have a tiebreaker over Ohio State.
Starting point is 01:49:17 We're in. Yeah, that'll be queer. We're in, bro. But what happens here? And then we're in the Big Ten Championship, like, Like all that shit, dude, as bad as we played, and it's not, it's not overlooking. Like, I think so many people, so many fans are going to look at Michigan that are fans of Michigan and be like, we're this, with that, look how bad this is, look how bad that is like, dude, if you watch the game of Northwestern,
Starting point is 01:49:39 there's so many things to be like really proud of. The turnovers suck. Like, you're going to get your ass beat against a really good football team when you have five turnovers. Northwestern's a good ball club. You've said it. Anyone who watches the Big Ten knows there's, there's, there's, you got to earn your stripes. Yeah, you got to earn your stripes. and we had multiple turnovers on the wrong side of the 50,
Starting point is 01:49:56 and our defense stood up in a big, big way, stood up in a big way. Bryce is putting touch on the football. He's scanning the field better. It's like he threw for the most yards. Like those two picks, one freshman mistake. The other one was ego. Like they're doing this RPO and they're reading the safety, and the safety was so quick to get in the box.
Starting point is 01:50:15 This Fitzgeraldcat, which, by the way, Northwestern, always is like a fits something on their team. He goes, takes two steps down. Obvious should have been a give. he throws the ball right into the lap of Fitzgerald. And it's like, that's the first throw he had since the first pick. Go, go Big Ten Championship.
Starting point is 01:50:29 Huh? Go, if you guys are playing Indiana, what happens to, do you think you have to win the Big Ten championship to get the college football playoff? No, the committee's already shown. First of all, I think we beat Indiana. But I think, let me say this.
Starting point is 01:50:41 Let me say this. If Michigan beats Ohio State, if you're in Indiana, you can't count on Michigan. Like, Indiana is a damn good ball club. You've got to respect. You got to turn that into an Iowa game that Indiana had against Iowa.
Starting point is 01:50:52 and I believe we are a better football team than Iowa because we can throw the ball a little bit better. But when it comes to the Big Ten Championship, you beat Ohio State the number one team in the country, the team that's been the number one team in the country since week two, you're in. And the committee's already said, we don't put a lot, we don't put,
Starting point is 01:51:08 we put hardly any weight in championship games. That would be some chaos right there. Yeah, three loss of all these things happen. You got nine and three Michigan, the ACC chaos are talking about, the SEC chaos we're talking about. Notre Dame would have to be out. Oh yeah, my fault.
Starting point is 01:51:22 and three. Would a two lost Notre Dame be out over a three lost Michigan who beat Ohio State? But it's like that's regular season. Everybody in the college football world buckle up because honestly I want to see this go down just to see, I just want to see anarchy. Dude, I'm telling. And also Indiana like, they haven't really seen the defense like Michigan's. There, what? They were slow, slow first half against Wisconsin. The way before that, they had to go to a game winning drive to beat a Penn State team.
Starting point is 01:51:50 I just think it's funny because this is literally Will whenever he talks about Nebraska But do hey I don't sit there and tell you they haven't seen a defense like Nebraska The delusion is just there Okay maybe I will
Starting point is 01:52:02 Maybe I'll talk If they earn it Mitch Mitch I understand like the delusion That we kind of see we'll go through But like have I said anything That's like no Some yeah What?
Starting point is 01:52:13 What? Michigan like you guys are a two lost team But it's not like you're like Oh this is a two lost team That is dangerous right now You're not like a, yes, you're a two-loss team, but you're not like a two-loss team like Alabama. Okay, do you think we could be...
Starting point is 01:52:26 Like Bryce is what, 11 touchdowns, seven interceptions? Oh, you must forgot that Peyton Manning, Tennessee, his first year starting, he threw 1100 yards and six touchdowns. You're not going to sit here and compare Bryce Underwood to Payton. He just did. He's having a better freshman year than Peyton Manning did. Yeah, but that, okay, a freshman year. But I'm just saying the next year, Peyton Manning threw for 3,500 yards
Starting point is 01:52:45 and almost 30 touchdowns. All right, so Bryce's got to throw for... I'm just saying, like, are the freshman. In the freshman years, I already looked it up. No, no. I wasn't looking at it. I wasn't looking at it. You don't need to Google it.
Starting point is 01:52:57 I already did last night. Looked up Cam Newton's first short starting. I was like, well, I can't compare those. Looked up, Angela. I was like, I got to get rid of from that. I was like, maybe Peyton Manning, because I know he's at like tough starts, like his rookie season. Looked up, I think he threw like 1185 yards.
Starting point is 01:53:12 Actually pull it up, sure, pull it up. And I was like, oh, bro, like Bryce Underwood is having a better year his freshman season than Peyton Manning his freshman season. But it's the saying of that's rookie season, that's rookie season. Freshman year against Tennessee. But you're also saying,
Starting point is 01:53:30 right, time out, time out. But you're also saying they haven't seen a defense like Michigan's like Michigan's not like, like you guys aren't like some top 10 defense. Their defense is pretty good. Our defense is really fucking good. I mean, they gave up what, 24 to Oklahoma, 27 in Nebraska,
Starting point is 01:53:47 20 to Michigan State, 22 to Northwest. Western, 31 to USC. Listen, this is where, this is where the guy's tweet, talking about you, not like the ball, does he really love ball. It's like, you're looking at scores. And there's been times that Michigan's offense has put the defense in positions that get Michigan State 20 points.
Starting point is 01:54:07 That, by the way, Michigan State scored a touchdown as we pulled all of our starters with four seconds left in the left in the game. Our turnovers, we had multiple turnovers in the red zone and Purdue took advantage of that. North Northwestern, we had five turnovers, five turnovers, three of which were in the red zone, four Northwestern, and held them the three points every time on that. So in your mind, they're a great defense.
Starting point is 01:54:31 And you can't really judge... You don't think Iowa was a good defense? I think I was a great defense. Indiana's played Iowa. Yeah, but you can't judge Michigan's defense until post-USC. Because there's a massive change before USC, listen to me.
Starting point is 01:54:44 Listen to me. Listen to me. Before USC, we were, blitzing the most in all of college football, over 50%, the most in college football. Since USC, we've been like a 25% blitz team, and our defense has been so much better, so much better. Like, statistically, if you were to take that chunk of games, we're probably the best in the country. Probably the best in the country. Oh, here it is.
Starting point is 01:55:08 Peyton Manning, 11 games played, 61% completion, 1141 yards, 11 TDs and 6 interceptions. He threw the ball 144 times. I didn't ask, dude. Did I ask that? We're going off of stats. Peyton Manning is having a worse season than Bryce Underwood, their freshman years. Is that a worse season?
Starting point is 01:55:31 Sorry, Bryce Underwood is having a better season than Peyton Manning's 1994 freshman season. I wonder how many. But Peyton Manning, friend of the show. I love it. We all know Peyton Manning and what he's been able to do. Like, could you imagine if we go get this Cam Coleman kid from Auburn or go get another wide receiver with Andrew Marsh next year with it off its line
Starting point is 01:55:50 that has a full year of experience. All these guys are sophomores. Dude, there is so much to be excited about when it comes to Michigan. So much. What other games do I talk about? You got to win this week. You have to win this week. You have to win this week. Buddy, I'm just telling you a little bit like, and then we get the playoffs. Who knows? Playoffs. Playoffs. JP, South Carolina, man. 30 to 3 at halftime. Yeah, Coach Beamer, hype in the crowd.
Starting point is 01:56:19 Yeah, I texted JP in the third, right when A&M went up. Yeah, fourth quarter with like 11 minutes. And it was like 31 30, it was like right when they came back and I was like, hey, I'm really sorry. Text me back a lot of time. With 11 minutes left in the game? It was 31.30, right? Yeah. And so I texted and said, I'm really sorry.
Starting point is 01:56:36 There was a lot of time left. And I looked at it and I just. Oh, that's barbaric. to send a message like that. Buddy, I mean, the momentum is crazy. Yeah, but 31.30 with 11 minutes left. I'm not going to apologize for what I did. I'm in the middle of the bullets flying.
Starting point is 01:56:50 But it's, I wish you could see my, my eye message because the whole game is just like a million of my friends sending me the eye emoji. They're talking about, man, y'all are looking great. Like, y'all really did it. And I'm just keep putting it down. I didn't respond to a single one of them. Like, this game is so far from over. And I hate being on the side of history of what was the record?
Starting point is 01:57:11 0 and 286. Like since 2005 in the SEC games where a team has had the lead of 27 or more points the record for the SEC team is 280 plus.
Starting point is 01:57:24 Yeah, I know what it is. I know what it is. Since 2004. Oh, my, an extra. So then when I tell people, when I tell people
Starting point is 01:57:31 you don't know pain like I know pain, that's what I'm talking about. Yeah, that's... Because it's one. It's one. And I'm the one. And I have to live with that.
Starting point is 01:57:41 Yeah. The rest of my life. Heath McCall on a tear talk said, Will, 1997, Jack, 1998, JP, never. Which guy on the bus has experienced the most heartbreak from college football fandom? Hashtag tier talk. Yeah. JP, without question. The penny never saw a South Carolina national championship.
Starting point is 01:58:00 The penny has now been discontinued. Since Wednesday of last week. Abraham Lincoln is on the penny. Yeah, it might come back. but what I hate, I mean, there's no, like, defending any of it. It sucks. We gave up the biggest lead, whatever. I just hate all of the aftermath of people starting to compare Beamer to Muschamp. We're talking right before. It's ridiculous. You cannot compare any coach pre-NIL era to NIL era at a school like South Carolina, plus inheriting the program that Beamer inherited.
Starting point is 01:58:35 He took a three-and-nine team. I know Muschamp didn't have the greatest, hand either, but when you go NIL era, inherited three and nine team that lost the Citadel and App State, and then you come back and we're having a tough year right now, but you cannot compare them to Will Mushchamp. I'm a foxhole guy. I will remain in the foxhole. People next to me will change, but I will remain. That's the thing about the foxhole. You can come and go, though. No, not this foxhole. This is a different foxhole. This is now the Nebraska foxhole. Right. For me, it's like coaches are in my foxhole with me. Will Mushchamp, I was. in there with them. Unfortunately, they took them out. Shane Beamer is in my foxhole with me.
Starting point is 01:59:13 So I'm going to put my life on the line for them every single week and I would be happy doing it because that's what the foxhole is. And I just hate the loser mentality. The easy way out is to complain about everything going on and I don't want the easy way out. I want the hard way out. And I told Garrett, when this championship comes, God, I hope I'm alive for it. I promise you I will be the most insufferable fan of all time, and I won't feel bad for any week of that college football season. Hell yeah. Because I've earned it. Because nobody's been through what I've been through. And when I'm sitting up at the top of that hill, I'm going to be looking down on everybody as if they are pieces of scum for 365 days. And so I'm looking forward to that day.
Starting point is 02:00:02 Already today, if this tells you anything about me, I've just been now going back and forth with the guy that used to be the captain of the Clemson football team back in some of their better days and I'm have begun my trash talk yeah like this is what we're just what we're dealing with but it sucks yeah no that was a brutal yeah that was brutal not only that you got the mall cop from texas a and m shoulder and both your guys shouldn't stop the game there i our guys probably didn't feel safe hey that was insane insane insane double elbows out too like very intentional and nothing led up to it before like if anything Nick harbour's running towards the tunnel And the yell leader like slaps the ball, tries to slap the ball out of his hands.
Starting point is 02:00:44 I saw that's crazy. So, I mean, that was unacceptable. I'm glad they handled that too. Like, as the games continue going on, they're relieved of his game day duties. Which sucks, man. I mean, that mistake he made. Oh. I'm sure he's the biggest, he's got to be one of the biggest A&M fans out there.
Starting point is 02:01:01 Yeah. And he just does something so dumb because he can't control what's, bro. Yeah, exactly. Like, what are we doing? Right. You're at work. You're a. Police officer.
Starting point is 02:01:11 Dude's drunk with power with the bad genre. Drunk with power. He needs to be relieved of his professional duties. You guys, I mean, if he's reacting like that, if you're that emotional over a football game, which I get like, we can all be emotional after our teams or when they're losing or whatever, but you are a police officer who is on duty. There's an expectation. Like all the negative talk about police officers, it's like, buddy, you're now an example
Starting point is 02:01:36 someone can put out there and be like, this is why police X, Y, and Z. Ryan Clark got in there. Oh, I bet. I bet he did. He clearly knew who he was pointing at, too. Like, if anything 27 tries to get out of the way, that's the elbow he throws. He doesn't really do anything to Nick Harbor, but turns around and it's like, Boy, said Nick.
Starting point is 02:01:57 Yeah, hopefully. I think God Nick just was like, I'm, what? I'm walking. By the way. We'd love to see him get downgraded the mall cop or like cleaning toilets or just doing the- Yeah, Paul Blart. Yeah. That touchdown, though.
Starting point is 02:02:09 Insane. Bro, the acceleration of Nick Harbour. Watching Nick Harbour run is one of the more beautiful things. He's like watching Secretariat. Seeing these little guys chase him to do that should clearly be faster than him, he's pulling away. It's beautiful. He gets in the stride and he's just moving so fast,
Starting point is 02:02:27 but I'm watching him in slow motion. I'm just like. He'll be fast and he has like a draft pick, like how scouts have him and everything else. Look at him, bro. Fly. That's a crazy picture. crazy.
Starting point is 02:02:41 Does he even got the ball tug? Who cares? I didn't catch you, though. But yeah, man. These little guys. Yeah, he made an insane special teams play, which ultimately didn't matter. You're a kicker and you know the fastest dude on the field
Starting point is 02:02:58 is twice your size and coming at you and your heads looking up. Oh, my God. Night night, night. Yeah, heartbreak, man. But SEC, man, look, I'm not saying, A&M's, I'm not saying A&M's frauds at all. But I am saying in the tier that they're at, they're on like a fraud watch because they'll play Texas.
Starting point is 02:03:20 Texas will be the hardest SEC team they faced all year. Again, the SEC championship. Like I would not be surprised if they lose their last three games. Texas, SEC championship, and won and done in the playoffs. I think they're, I look, I think they're a good team. I'm just, they've had so many close games with the bottom half. Like if you look at their schedule, they've played all the bottom half SEC teams. So their best win is Notre Dame.
Starting point is 02:03:46 Right, got Notre Dame by one early in the season. Yeah, and they actually shouldn't have beat Notre Dame. Like that fourth and whatever, the last play of that game, there was a clear holding call taking place by the left guard. But again, they're undefeated right now. They've honestly, they've had a Helvey or Marcel Reed had a Heisman moment that second half of that South Carolina game. First half, what do you throw for three picks?
Starting point is 02:04:07 but to come back from that deficit to be undefeated in the SEC is, again, you don't apologize for your schedule. I'm just saying like watching the games across the board, if somebody could a couple weeks ago people arguing about A&M, they should be the number one team in the country. Last week.
Starting point is 02:04:27 Oh yeah, Garrett was on here last week. Talking about them in Ohio State. And again, they're in the... Arguably... Well, I can't agree until, obviously, that last week when when Michigan wins Ohio State's getting dropped to five Michigan will be 12 11 I mean I'm just saying I would not be surprised Ohio State has not been tested everybody get tested a couple weeks dude we just got to beat Maryland we just got to beat Maryland
Starting point is 02:04:55 it's all about the Terps right now it's everything what time is that we're streaming this weekend correct correct I think that game is at 11 so we're streaming we're streaming Michigan Maryland uh USC Oregon is going to be a huge game too. Where is that game at? In Eugene. Skydogs. Skydocks.
Starting point is 02:05:13 Let's do a couple of tier talk before we get out of here. We got Zane Dingo at PWDZK. If T.J. Lateef beats Penn State in Happy Valley and Iowa and Lincoln, do we, prethesis, Husker fans, have a conversation
Starting point is 02:05:30 on our hands? Hashtag tier talk. I would say ask me that next week. Oh, you Until there's something that you need to do. Until there's something to talk about There's nothing to be said. Right. I'm glad you went back to that.
Starting point is 02:05:45 Yeah. I'm glad you went back to that. What we got here, will you? Hey, we're double-digit underdogs right now at Happy Valley. Bad week to be a Nittany line. Bad week. They started getting themselves a little excitement because they took Indiana.
Starting point is 02:05:58 The brass is double-digit underdog. Double-digit, I think when I checked last night on Fain do it was 10. 5. 10.5 point underdogs? Coming out of a buy, Coming off a bye. How dare you. We'll find out.
Starting point is 02:06:11 We got another one from Chinook Seedy Sunflower. Let's go. Shout out those sunflower seeds. If you were in AD, how would you go about handling a possible coaching change situation? Meaning he's on the hot seat going into the year and we're four games in and it's obviously not working. What you're playing. Hashtag Tier Talk. I'm more of let the coaches finish out the year.
Starting point is 02:06:31 I was not at the beginning of the year seeing all the chaos. I now agree. I think your four games in the season You're not firing him You say man you just keep doing your thing We'll see if it works ball ball But you're on the phones And you're dialing in your next guy
Starting point is 02:06:45 You gotta dial him in Yeah Because you want to keep You want to fire the head coach And the new head coach be within 72 hours Because you gotta worry about Transfer portals Like your kids coming in from high school
Starting point is 02:07:00 Recruiting Like all that's so important You need to be Have everybody aligned hey this is good and before these kids can even blink it's like we got a new one and he's great look how awesome he is so you don't let these kids all you know decommitting all those things yeah i guess recruiting would be the big situation there because if you fire early that's depending on the recruiting staff and everything else going to the next year you'd fire and then get to
Starting point is 02:07:24 recruiting and keeping your guys there and on that topic that's why we have got to keep Shane beamer for another year because if we let him go we lose all these recruits we have coming in And it sets us back so much farther. If anybody's curious where I stand on it, that's where I stand on. Yeah. Keep Shane Beamer. He's going to be looking down. He's going to be looking down. You don't have Shane, but where are you guys going to go?
Starting point is 02:07:44 Me and Shane. We're going to be looking at where we're going to go, top of the hill. Look down on everybody next year. No, I'm talking about if Shane's gone. Oh, yeah, nowhere. Right. Me. Yeah.
Starting point is 02:07:54 Fire Shane Beamer now. You end up with me. And here you hire it. Shane Beamer. All right, boys. We feel good. Gee. Real quick, give us Bama.
Starting point is 02:08:07 Yeah, it's tough. You talked about turn the ball over five times against Northwestern and still getting the win. That's a tough one to lose. You know, if you look at the stat sheet, it looks like we absolutely destroyed them. Aside from the turnovers and points that they came out with, they only had a true six points. So our defense is humming right now. Right. People will look at the box score and they go Alabama's defense failed, but not so fast.
Starting point is 02:08:40 No, even on team stats, you're saying, like, they like double. Yeah, we doubled them in everything. They doubled their stats. No, I'm kind of going back to when people pull up schedules and say, boom, boom. Right, right, right. Hey, listen, your defense is playing well. You know, no, like, not taking anything away from Oklahoma, like, they house to pick six. That's an awesome play if you're a defense.
Starting point is 02:09:00 They had a great punt return, like immediately in the game. could have tackled him right there. The guy made a great play and got him down there. We held him to three. That's when I was like, okay, we're going to be in one, but our defense is showing up. The one that I'm most disappointed in turnover wise is we stop them. We take momentum away from them. We almost get a pick ourselves. Stop them. They punt the ball and then we fumble the punt. And Ryan Williams hasn't returned a punt all year until this week. So that's pretty frustrating when a guy that you would consider a hand specialist loses the football. But he made good plays later in the game when we needed it downfield.
Starting point is 02:09:44 You know, you hope that you taste your blood one more time and then it's just go time from here. You hate that you have to go to Jordan Hare the most cursed place on the planet. And it's a must win. But, you know, it's tough when... Yeah, Oklahoma's made it interesting. There are two lost team. I mean, it's tough because at the beginning of the season, John Matier was a Heisman favorite, Oklahoma's defense.
Starting point is 02:10:08 Everyone's talking about Oklahoma, Oklahoma. How the season's gone, they've done the wave as much as anybody. And so to lose a game the way we lost it to a team that is a good football team, it sucks. And I mean, you said it. Like, you got to wake up. And we didn't wake up. We didn't wake up and we played good enough to win that game.
Starting point is 02:10:31 and it just didn't go our way. Turnovers, but Eastern Illinois, whoever the fuck we play this week, I'm sorry. You guys still got the rivalry game with Auburn. Yeah. Oklahoma, it's not easy.
Starting point is 02:10:43 The rest of the way they got Mizzou. They got Mizzou and LSU. Amad Hardy coming off a 300 game on the ground, 300-yard game on the ground. Talking shit. Yeah. It is tough, though, because our defense plays so well.
Starting point is 02:10:55 And at the beginning of the season, it was all the defense is struggling, the offense is good. and at some point along the way it's leveled out and now the defense is what's really winning us these games I do wish I think that we have one of the best two minute offenses in the country you guys are great through the air you guys just can't run the ball that well
Starting point is 02:11:18 which is crazy is that we kind of ran the ball fairly well yeah yeah it had you have some chunk like in a weird way we ran the ball well but that last drive you have like almost five minutes left we took a long as time to cross midfield and then stalled out, I would have liked to see us march down the field and let the defense win you the football game. They've shut them down. They've, again, they had more possessions inside the 30 and came away with points than when we truly kicked them the ball. They only got six points. And one of them was a good punt return. So it's like, go put the defense on the field and win you the football game.
Starting point is 02:11:58 But you know what? It happens. Now you've got to go win and just get in. It's weird that if we win in Auburn, there's a chance we still make the SEC championship game. But if you lose the SEC championship game, are you penalized and then not making it? You could be a three loss. Yeah, a three lost team. Because again, the chaos we're looking at. You got A&M who's undefeated. Georgia, who's one loss right now. People are also sleeping on Old Miss, who's a one lost team. Yeah, you got Old Miss. Then you got the two lost SEC teams is Bama and Oklahoma. Oklahoma, who's won at Bama, Oklahoma who's one at Tennessee.
Starting point is 02:12:31 And then you also got Vanderbilt. They finish out the rest of the year and beat Tennessee. They're a two lost SEC team. Yeah, it's weird. So that's six teams right there. I don't know if you was doing mad, but that's three teams right there. I was kind of just staring on the distance. Wishing my foot would feel better.
Starting point is 02:12:47 Before we get out of here, I don't know if it's a long thing, but can someone explain the tie that they have at six in the ranking? No clue. I don't understand it. That's a job's pay question. Yeah, that's a shit. We'll ask him. Six, seven.
Starting point is 02:13:00 Right. Six, seven. Like, it's, it's in numerical order. Yeah. We didn't make that up. Right. But it does truly just go six. Yeah.
