San Diego coming to MLS is going to be a game changer
Starting point is 00:01:47 because this region has been hungry for a men's professional soccer team. We need to embrace this community. Listen to San Diego FC, behind the flow. on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcast. You have one of the best players in the league, but with Jordan Love making $55 million a year, Michael Parsons making $47 million a year,
Starting point is 00:02:14 how will they build a strong enough roster? But they have a strong roster already. They do. Have you seen the Packers' offense? Are you all tripping? Have you all been paying attention to football? Let's please remember and understand this is the perfect time,
Starting point is 00:02:28 where you don't have a high salary at the receiver position. You don't have any high salaries at the skill position on the other side of the ball either. You got rid of Alexander? Yeah. So you're good. So you got, and plus you got two bookends. Remember, we had a, what's, Rishon Gary?
Starting point is 00:02:52 Yeah. So you got him on one side. You got Michael on the other side. So now you got a tandem. They can go hunt the quarterback. George Love, all you got to do is get them a lead. That's it. Get them a lead and turn them loose.
Starting point is 00:03:04 Yeah. Yeah. That's the way the Broncos won the Super Bowl. They get a lead and then they unleash the Barker's wear and they unleash bond mill on your ass. Yep. That's it. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:03:14 Yeah. That's what they did. Everybody else flying around. Yep. The Green beer packets have a very, very, very, very good receiving corps. Very good receiving core. Understand this is a passing league right now. You got some boys over there and they can go.
Starting point is 00:03:28 listen for me i like the packers doing this because they're going for it right now i'm not waiting but if you force me ocho they're not better they're not better than the eagles no healthy healthy matthew stafford they're not better than the rams with puka with karen williams with devonte adams matthew stafford and you got burst and you got that bonnet pass rush for the life they're not for two for me i'm just saying to me okay okay okay you can disagree with it right but i think the eagles and the rams are better than the packers that that is just my opinion right i don't i don't think so not not with the addition to micah not with the addition to micah i put the eagles and the packers before the rams no i put i put i put the eagles i put the eagles
Starting point is 00:04:23 I've got the Eagles, one, I got the Rams, too. I'm not so sure. I want to see the commanders, but I think the commander's going to be really good. Oh, yeah, absolutely. I think Vaughn's going to have a resurgence there. Let's see what Lattimore, because Lattimore, the last couple of years, though, Joe, his play has slipped a little. No, his play has slipped a lot. Yeah, a little bit, a little bit.
Starting point is 00:04:48 Listen, for one, he was coming off injury last year. He had to get his feet back wet, get back acclimated. to getting into a group of the game. So he was always one step behind. He was always one step behind. This year he's coming in a lot more, a lot healthier. So I'm looking forward to him doing great things
Starting point is 00:05:05 for them defensively. So he should get back to the playing the kind of football we know he can play. And we're used to seeing him play. So I think we're going to be all right. In that division, the quarterbacks, Caleb Williams, got to go hunting. Jerry Golf, you got to go hunting.
Starting point is 00:05:21 Or J.J. McCarthy, you got to go hunting. Now, the thing that I do like, like he does, see, and plus the weather, Michael's going to have to adjust. Michael's not used to playing in cold. Right. Cold and green. Hey, I told me, it's cold. Penn State, man.
Starting point is 00:05:35 Penn State, it's cold up there, now. Man, by the time it gets cold, season over. You got to realize they're season over in November, oh, Joe. Damn. And then they're going to play in the Rose Bowl. Right, right, right. Right. Hey, Green Bay, you practice outside, don't you?
Starting point is 00:05:50 Oh, yeah. Chicago, outside, don't you? Oh, yeah. I like it. So look, and look, it gets, it gets cold in Dallas and in Philly, you know, Washington. I don't know if anybody, I don't know if y'all been to Wisconsin. Yeah. I don't know if you've ever been to Lambeau Field. But that ain't a place you want to be in November, December, or January.
Starting point is 00:06:13 Trust me, my brother played there for seven years. I played there. I visited there. I played there. Man, that cold ain't. Hey, man, that, that, that's that. wet, heavy cold. I'm talking about that got heavy moisture.
Starting point is 00:06:29 Oh, yeah. I'm talking about, you know, the sun. I was so cold there, the sun rose with an overcoat on Ocho. I'm talking to cool like that. Yeah, shit. It's the kind of cold that make you think about your occupation. Yeah, you're like, but do I really want to do this? Do I really want to play NFL football?
Starting point is 00:06:46 That's how cold it gets in Green Bay. I love it, though. I love me some cold, boy. You got my hand right here. Hey. anything below 30 degrees count me in count me in no i want 85 i want 85 and sunny uh-uh i love that cold but i don't know what it is about that cold i don't i love it yeah hey you may you remember april what that weather would like when we got there in april at the draught you like ooh oh yeah
Starting point is 00:07:16 It had a little spike to it. Yeah. That is April. Yeah. I mean, hey, rest of your soul, Prince, when Prince says sometimes it snows in April, I'm like, that's a song, is it real? Because Micah announces the number that he's going to wear.
Starting point is 00:07:34 He's going to wear the number one. He's the first packer to wear that number since Curly Lambo, former head coach. Hey, that's live. Lambeau Field is named after. Right. The Lombardi Trophy is named after Viz Lombardi. So I'm surprised.
Starting point is 00:07:54 Hold on. Somebody got number 11. He couldn't, don't, don't, don't, don't. Yeah, Ray, yeah, yeah, yeah, okay. Jayree got 11. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. You know, no, no, no, no, Jayree, you can't get, you can't get, you can't get that number, man.
Starting point is 00:08:09 You got to, you got to be really, you got to be, no, you got to be Jamar Chase or Justin Jefferson, somebody like that to ask for that number. Right. I'm Jake Hofer, and this is Back 40, a limited series show on Wire to Hunt, part of Meat Eat Eater's podcast network. Each episode I'll be asking eight wide-tail hunting pros,
Starting point is 00:08:26 a focused, thought-provoking question about hunting and land management. How do I hunt the best part of the farm with less than ideal access? Should you? That's what the real question is. Stand without good access is not a good stand. Listen to Back40 on iHeartRadio app,
Starting point is 00:08:43 Apple Podcast, or wherever you get, your podcast. Football is back. That's right. The new NFL season is here and you should be listening to NFL Daily as we march along to Super Bowl 60. This is a show for sickos like me. NFL Daily is your kind of show. It's in the name NFL Daily. You'll have fresh content in your feed all season long. Myself Greg Rosenthal and an all-star cast of co-host will preview and recap every game all season long. Josh Allen coming off an MVP season. Allen and reaching for the pylon. Are you kidding me?
Starting point is 00:09:19 It's a touchdown. Have you ever seen that one before? Rookies making a name for themselves. Run again. Rejected as a bulldozer. He is bouncing off defenders and dragged down. And of course, the Eagles trying to win another Lombardi. What a game.
Starting point is 00:09:35 What a season. What a team. Eagles fans savourage and rejoice. Listen to NFL Daily on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts or wherever you get your podcast. I'm Dan, he's Ty. Hello. And we're the Solid Verbal College Football Podcast.
Starting point is 00:09:53 College football season is here, and you know what that means. Your team is going to break your heart three times, probably before Halloween. Uh-huh, but fear not. We live it. Listen to the Solid Verbal College Football Podcasts on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. The U.S. Open is here, and on my podcast, Good Game with Sarah Spain, I'm breaking down the players from rising stars to legends chasing history,
Starting point is 00:10:56 the predictions will we see a first time winner, and the pressure. Billy Jean King says pressure is a privilege, you know. Plus, the stories and events off the court, and of course the honey deuses, the signature cocktail of the U.S. Open. The U.S. Open has gotten to be a very fancy, wonderful, experiential sporting event. I mean, listen, the whole aim is to be accessible and inclusive for all tennis fans, whether you play tennis or not. Tennis is full of compelling stories of late. Have you heard about Icon Venus Williams'
Starting point is 00:11:26 recent wildcard bids? Or the young Canadian, Victoria Mboko, making a name for herself. How about Naomi Osaka getting back to form? To hear this and more, listen to Good Game with Sarah Spain, an IHeart Women's Sports Production in partnership with Deep Blue Sports and Entertainment on the iHeart radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. Presented by Capital One, founding partner of IHeart Women's Sports. Yeah. I'm just going to keep it. Ocho, eight months' time, Dallas, two biggest superstars have been traded.
Starting point is 00:11:59 Luca Donchich, Michael Parsons, have left the city because the owners don't want to pay. Yeah. The Luca situation, I mean, you're talking about 350 million, Ocho. That's what you're looking at, 350. 350. They're like, uh, $350.
Starting point is 00:12:15 I know he's 26, but, uh, his, his, his, his, his,
Starting point is 00:12:19 his, his, his, his, playing like that. Yeah. I'll break, if he'll,
Starting point is 00:12:26 he'll give me 30, he'll give me 30, 10, and eight. I got a little pony cake for him when he come out to practice for. That's exactly what he's going to give you every time. That's why I did,
Starting point is 00:12:35 I understand it, but I think still there's some deeper issues to it that we don't know about that that haven't come out. because that just didn't make any sense to me. It just didn't. Hell, the Michael one didn't make any sense either, but I knew I knew knowing Micah even if I didn't know him
Starting point is 00:12:51 personally, hearing the owner say some of the things that Jerry Jones said out loud there's no way I'm playing for that. Again, I'm not stepping on the field for you. I'm not fighting for you. Not having. The big payday resulted in Michael Parsons being able to retire his mother
Starting point is 00:13:09 Cherise Parsons from work. posted a video of him celebrating with her on his Instagram story writing that moment when Mama never got to go to work again. Watch this, Ocho. That's dope. That's one of the greatest feelings in the world. One of the greatest feelings in the world.
Starting point is 00:13:35 Obviously, my grandmother was a little different once I made it. Obviously, I didn't get that kind of money once I got drafted. I remember telling grandma, I said, baby, we finally made it. You can move out of Liberty City. You don't have to be here anymore. And my grandma, you know how they are. They said, in their ways on, they say, boy, I am not going nowhere.
Starting point is 00:13:55 You know how long this house has been here? This house was passed down to me from my mama. And from my mom's mom, I ain't going nowhere. I appreciate you. I'm glad you made it. I made a lot of sacrifices for you to get to where you are now. I say, I know you did. That's why I want to repay you.
Starting point is 00:14:12 Get your nice place, get your nice car. Now, I take some on four wheels. That's my grandma talk. I'll take some on four wheels. But I'm not getting no house. I will be here. My grandma ain't never learned how to drive. Ain't want to learn how to drive.
Starting point is 00:14:26 She's going to get on that passenger seat. Every time. Come on. Tell you how to drive. Don't you need to put your blank on? Grady, you ain't never had no driver's life. How do you know what I'm doing wrong? Right, right.
Starting point is 00:14:38 How bad you're going over there? What difference does it make? You ain't got no break over there. Right. But you're right, Ocho. Them old people, they get, you know, and I told the story like, Ocho, I would give my grandmother, I would come home and give my grandma $2,500. She said she was sitting Libby up there with $50.
Starting point is 00:14:56 Let me go pay on that bill. Pay on the bill? Grady, just pay it off. Ocho, she's on $100. She doesn't got a $100 worth of grocery over the course of a couple of weeks or something like that right right she said living up there with a little piece of 50 mm-hmm he'll let me put something on it yeah let me go pay this thing off hey oh man I don't know why old people like that also the mere fact that she was still putting
Starting point is 00:15:24 stuff on credit credit yeah that's how them old people are wired we got to take we have to have one of my uncles to come take my grandma fishing to put a refrigerator put a wash and dry live it don't bother them boys let that's their money live right don't bother them boys with that you got to scoop water out in the washer to get it because it won't it won't it won't spin the water will come back you got to scoop the water up out of there yeah the refrigerator the refrigerator will it's 72 degrees they they put oh Joe she'd have my she'd have my sister to go to the hardware store and buy a cooler so by go get ice from the convenience store right and then put the stuff on
Starting point is 00:16:05 the cooler the refrigerator don't work oh man but that's how that's how the old people think oh joe yeah maybe don't bother them boys they we okay yeah oh some good days man that's a great feeling congratulations michael um cherise enjoy retirement enjoy retirement yeah kick your feet up and guess what son i'm coming to see you every weekend yeah coming to see you every weekend and and make sure i have a sweet too because i don't want to sit outside in the cold oh yeah but i think the thing of ocho like If he had got this money, I don't know. She might not want to leave.
Starting point is 00:16:43 He's from Harrisburg. So I don't know if she still lives in Harrisburg or she wants to move to Dallas and be close. But hey, wherever you want, Mama. Whatever you want. I'm going to get you a nice little house that, you know, you don't need nothing, mama, no three, four million. I'll get you a nice little crib.
Starting point is 00:16:58 Right. Have somebody come in once a week clean this thing for your mom. Hey, don't you worry about anything. Get you, hey, go sit this thing out for your mom. Take a load off your feet. Mm-hmm. New Cowboys defensive tackle, Kenny Clark, had no idea he was going to be traded from Green Bay to Dallas as part of the Michael Parsons deal. I was shocked, but once Jerry and all those guys called me, shot it and everybody I just felt wanted.
Starting point is 00:17:21 It's a blessing. I'm appreciative of it. No nonsense. You're going to get a dog, somebody that's all about, just all about football. I'm here to ball. I'm here to be my best self. I feel like without my best self, there's nobody messing with me. That's what I bring to the table.
Starting point is 00:17:36 I'm here to play my ass off. I like it. I like saying all the right things. Yes. And all the other. Like you said, Joe, he can play. He can play. Oh, yeah.
Starting point is 00:17:46 Kenny Clark can go now. And I just give me the whole comments about they make me feel wanted. Obviously, well, if you heard, if you heard some of the things, the guy who owns the team over there said, of course. That is what he said about the guy that he tried that you got traded for? He didn't make him feel more. Listen, hey, anytime you get something new, you get a new little toy. You know, of course. You know, you always make it.
Starting point is 00:18:08 make it make it make it feel like it so yeah yeah yeah you know new relationship you know how they go you know how they go yeah he she's bad at you yeah yeah you get right your boy he back yeah yeah they what you there oh what yeah that's that's that's how the cowboy look at a kitty Clark right now yeah yeah yeah yeah we got a nice got us one but the guy that you shipped out you need to make him feel like the way y'all make Kenny Clark the question is if I were to ask Michael Parsons oh last eight months did they make you feel wanted because you could have you could have signed you could have done something after year three yeah
Starting point is 00:18:50 you didn't now it was going to be virtually impossible to sign DAC CD and where you got that yo you got DAC and CD and then guess what now I try to get Micah mm-hmm well it's get them early get them early yeah because late And he goes to, oh, I was going to give him the highest, the highest contract. Man, 40 and a half. Highest what? Stop lying. Hey, that's what, yeah.
Starting point is 00:19:19 I mean, you ain't got no state income tax, but you know what? 47, I'm good. Yeah. I get, I get over and say, have you a little cut. Whatever you got, whatever you need. The NFL is lifting their media ban on Tom Brady, and he will now be allowed to attend production meeting with coaches and teams. Unfair advantage for the Raiders, Ocho, or is it a big deal? That's not a big deal at all.
Starting point is 00:19:43 Not a big deal at all. Obviously, I mean, there's really nothing Tom is going to do. You know, being in that position to be able to attend those meetings like that, it's no harm, no foul. I mean, no harm, no foul. I like it. I mean, what is Tom going to do in general? What is he going to do?
Starting point is 00:19:58 And how advantageous for Tom or the Raiders in any way, shape, form of fashion? It's not. Yeah, it absolutely is. So what the coach, what y'all talk about? when they ask you, when you win those production, what did they ask you? Do you think any of the teams that he's going to cover, do you think the Raiders is going to play them?
Starting point is 00:20:15 Yeah, probably. Are those any team that he's going to cover on Sunday, will they play the Raiders? Yeah, they do. Do you think he could pass any information back to the offensive or defensive coaches for the Raiders? I have a question, huh? Is there anything Tom Brady can say
Starting point is 00:20:31 that they don't already see on film? That's going to help them on Sunday when the whistle blows in between those lines. No. Yeah. Tom Brady, Tom Brady hearing the coaches say this is what we like to do in this down and distance. That doesn't mean you're going to be able to stop it
Starting point is 00:20:45 because even if they do tell Tom Brady that, the tendencies and what they like to do is already on film. Let me ask you this. If you didn't gain an unfair advantage, why did they give the defensive captain the radio signal? So why don't anybody signal in play anymore? Nobody gained an advantage by taping the signals. Why did the defensive guy got a helmet, got it now?
Starting point is 00:21:06 If that was the case, why did they put that thing in the quarterback's helmet? If nobody got it gained an advantage by anything. Yeah. I mean, I'm just telling you, me, and my thought process is just because Tom Brady knows what other teams are doing and those teams might play the Raiders, that still doesn't put the Raiders in an advantageous situation just because of what another team has said they like to do.
Starting point is 00:21:30 Because whatever they do like to do, it's already on film. Whatever they tell Tom in those production meetings, it's already on film. So one of the greatest minds to ever play the quarterback position, he can't add nothing. He can't add nothing, though, because the greatest mind that played the position, he doesn't play anymore. He don't need to play.
Starting point is 00:21:48 He doesn't play anymore. But he can tell you what you need to do. Well, if that's the case, and everybody would look to, everybody ain't like that. So in other words, if that's the case, why are you out there helping those receivers? You can't play anymore. Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah.
Starting point is 00:22:03 This is me. I can show them how to respect that. You want to help everybody. with their diet, you want to help work out? I got my certificate, my certification as a nutritionist. That's what you did?
Starting point is 00:22:15 That program. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Yeah, I'm not ready. Yeah, matter of fact, Micah hit me, he, Mike are going to be my third client. Damn, pretty soon. You might not even, you know,
Starting point is 00:22:27 want to work on nightcap. You're going to have on the class. Oh, no, I'm going to always be here. I'm going to always be here because all the meal prep stuff I do, I do in the morning and afternoon. Okay. Yeah. Let me ask you a question, Ocho.
Starting point is 00:22:38 How would you feel getting interviewed by Tom Brady? So you'll play a company in and, you know, you go into production meeting. It's going to be straight jokes. It's going to be straight jokes. The same way I'm with you, the same way I am with Prime, and the same way I am with Tom. It's the same way I'm with Bill Belichick. It's the same way I'm with Roger Goodell.
Starting point is 00:23:00 It doesn't matter who's sitting in front of me. You still get the same mocho. Them jokes is going to fly. You might try to be serious. I'm going to find a way to wiggle around the seriousness Yeah Everything lighthearted
Starting point is 00:23:12 Yeah Always I mean just like anything When you went in there And you To see all those guys That you grew up watching And listening to
Starting point is 00:23:22 Yes so The great, you know The John Madden And the Pat Summeralls You know, the Dickenbergs And Chris Collinsworth And you know
Starting point is 00:23:33 You're like man And I'm like, you know, all those, man, it's like, gee. But man, that got me, we have no guy like Tom that's sitting down talking. We had some quarterback and they were in the Hall of Fame. But that's the guy. Yeah. That is the guy. But that'd be really cool.
Starting point is 00:23:58 Christopher played only four games last season, Ocho, because of injuries. He had a league leading 339 touches in 2020. 23 and has 8, 1,871 touches in his eight seasons. That's not, that's not a whole lot. That's a little over 220. That's a little over 225, about 240, which ain't, that ain't a whole lot of touches. Right. But I guess it's, he's on a little smaller side, 205.
Starting point is 00:24:25 That's a lot of touching for 205. But Kyle Shadahan, the 49ers, aren't worried about any of that. I like to watch how the guy moves and how he's out there. I see Kristen looking the same as he's always looked. So I don't really think about his age when it comes to that case. Now, if he started looking different, then I'll probably start questioning some of the things. Then I'd probably be looking at how old is or look at that 30 thing.
Starting point is 00:24:46 But Kristen gives us no reason to think that he came in healthy this year. He's had a hell of an offseason and he's got a hell of a training camp. I believe that's going to lead to a hell of a year. Yeah, I like it. I agree. Yeah. I mean, I agree too, as long as he says healthy. I agree.
Starting point is 00:25:03 Normally when he misses a season, Ocho, you come back and he raised hell. He gave you that work. Yep. Now, obviously, Christian McCaffrey is extremely, extremely skilled. So when his decline will look different than anyone else's decline, you know, when they lose a step. But for him, I'm excited.
Starting point is 00:25:25 I think as he goes, the rest of that team goes as well, because they don't have, to me, a viable number one option as a receiving threat. Yes. That pressure off of Purdy. So I think the team in itself is going to have to be carried on the shoulders of goddamn CMAC. He's going to have to be that workhorse. He's going to have to be that workload to get the boys going. Yeah, Kyle's going to have to be on this.
Starting point is 00:25:50 He's going to have to be on his A game calling plays because like you said, they don't really have much. We'll see if once IU get back how he looks. You know, Pierce All, we'll see how he does. They signed D-Rob, but I think he's going to be out the first three games. Yeah. They signed Skymore. I'm Jake Hofer, and this is Back 40, a limited series show on Wire to Hunt, part of Meat Eat Eaters Podcast Network.

Starting point is 00:28:40 The U.S. Open is here, and on my podcast, Good Game with Sarah Spain, I'm breaking down the players from rising stars to legends chasing history. The predictions will we see a first time? winner and the pressure. Billy Jean King says pressure is a privilege, you know. Plus, the stories and events off the court and, of course, the honey deuses, the signature cocktail of the U.S. Open. The U.S. Open has gotten to be a very fancy, wonderfully experiential sporting event. I mean, listen, the whole aim is to be accessible and inclusive for all tennis fans, whether you play tennis or not. Tennis is full of compelling stories of late. Have you heard about icon Venus Williams' recent wildcard bids, or the young Canadian, Victoria Mboko, making a
Starting point is 00:29:23 name for herself. How about Naomi Osaka getting back to form? To hear this and more, listen to Good Good Game with Sarah Spain, an Iheart women's sports production in partnership with deep blue sports and entertainment on the Iheart radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcast. Presented by Capital One, founding partner of IHeart Women's Sports. You know, he had an okay rookie season, but hadn't been able to recapture what he did his rookie season. in the Kansas City, turned it to a pretty good return. So we're going to see,
Starting point is 00:29:53 we're going to see early on, but Kyle, I think Kyle's going to have to have one of his better seasons calling plays on Joe. Juan Jennings. Is Juan Jennings? He's still there.
Starting point is 00:30:01 Yeah, he's there. I don't think he got the contract extension that he was looking for. Yeah. But they got a lot of money tied up and they got a lot of money tied up in Purdy. He got a lot of money tied up
Starting point is 00:30:12 in Christian McAfre. He got a lot of money turning up in Trent Williams. They got a lot of money tied up in Fred Warner. So the other corner, I forget his name. They got a lot of money tied up. So they got some money tied up.
Starting point is 00:30:26 Oh, Kittle. You got money tied up and Kittle. He's not the highest paid tied in. So you can only play so many guys, Ocho. Yeah, you're right. But hopefully see Mack and stay healthy. I want to see him healthy. Mary got a new.
Starting point is 00:30:42 I think she had the baby, right? His wife. She's had the baby. Christian McCaffer's wife I think she's had the baby God damn frog, man, making all that damn noise, man. Okay.
Starting point is 00:31:05 The frog in the house? Nah, I can hear him outside, man. It sounds like a goddamn opera, man. Yeah. Meiton. The arrival of Cam Ward has created some optimism about what the future holds for the Titans, according to Calvin Ridley.
Starting point is 00:31:21 I can feel something in me. It was like, this kid is good, and I got to be good. I can't fall behind. I've got to be a help. I got to be a big help because it's time to dominate. Yeah, I like it. Listen, when a quarterback, when you get a quarterback like Camwood, they're coming out and he throwing them dots at you, you know, when you're running short,
Starting point is 00:31:43 whether you're running immediate, you're going deep, and he put them balls in. in the bucket on you like that, and you got a chance to experience that, not only through training camp, but hell, got damn OTAs. And then you said, well, hold on, I got me one. I ain't had nothing like this outside when I was in Atlanta. With Matt Ryan.
Starting point is 00:32:01 But Matt Ryan, but now I got this boy Cam. Boy, man, stop playing, man. You remember that last year he was in Atlanta, Ocho? That was shouldn't be that one. Bad, because that joke would stop on a dime. Be a big receiver. And to get in and out of breaks like that. That, yeah.
Starting point is 00:32:20 Hey, like you said, hey, he rocked your ass up. Quick in a hurry. Quick and in a hurry. Yeah, I mean, he complete. Can run the tree, can high point the ball, great in and out of breaks, run after the catch. I love cavalry. Hey.
Starting point is 00:32:38 You know, Alabama had a run now. Right now, LSU, LSU kind of dominate, LSU and Ohio State dominating the receiver market. I mean, Alabama might be third, but there was a time, but, you know, they were, they were real hard, but right now, there ain't nobody mess with LSU, LSU got it right now. LSU running away with it right now. They got one, two, and then you got probably like eight, nine, wherever you think Brian Thomas, Jr. and neighbors are.
Starting point is 00:33:06 Mm-hmm. Yeah, they're running right now. Maybe when Jeremiah Smith come out, it would probably bring, Ohio State a little closer to compete. Yeah, yeah. With LSU, but right now LSU, hands down. Hey, because you're getting Chase and Jenna about to go into their primes.
Starting point is 00:33:23 Yeah. They're about to go into their prime. They, hey, they go dominate for a little while longer, you know. The Jazz Jim, Darren Moogie, believe Justin Fields can be the next late-blooming franchise quarterback, much like Baker Mayfield or Sam Darno.
Starting point is 00:33:37 I do believe Justin can be one of those guys. I've seen progress during camp and look forward to seeing the progress throughout the season. as they all come together. Obviously, it's a third stop in three years with three different coordinators, a lot of moving parts, so it does take time.
Starting point is 00:33:53 But I like where he's at. I look forward to watching the progress, Ocho, of the course of four years. He's played for three different head coaches and offensive coordinators. I kind of like what he said, but obviously the Baker-Mayfield situation, you understand the type of team he's around
Starting point is 00:34:11 for him to be able to have the resurgence that he's had when he was at Cleveland, you know, before he was at Cleveland or before he was with the Panthers. The team around him, you know, they have a team around him that he can work with. It's the right situation. It just makes sense for Justin Field. He also can be that quarterback as well, but you guys have to make sure you continue to put the pieces around him. He has some right now. Yeah, you know, the Breeze Halls and the Garrett Wilson's and then Lazard and some of the other people you have, but you have to continue to build around him and play to a strength.
Starting point is 00:34:45 Yep. I agree. That's it. And you can get exactly the situation that you're talking about when you buy into making sure your quarterback has all the tools necessary to succeed.
Starting point is 00:34:57 You want me to win this war? Just give me the tools. That's all I need. If you want me to win, give me the tools. Hey, don't sit back there with a musket. Give me some drones. I need drones.
Starting point is 00:35:09 I need no cannons. I don't need no cannonball. I need drones. I need stuff with GPS tracking. I need that high grade U.S. military. Yeah. So I agree with Jocho. You know, it's tough, head coach, different head coach, different systems year after year, after year after year.
Starting point is 00:35:31 You just want to get somewhere and feel comfortable. Yeah. Kind of like, you know, it's kind of like he'd been living in a hotel, you know, bro, I want to get some place I can call home. Yeah. I just want to hear one. I just want to hear the same voice. Can I hear the same voice for two years in a row? three years in the row. Can I do that? Same voice. Same system. Man, that shall be nice.
Starting point is 00:35:50 I like it. But we'll see what he does. Ocho tensile tensions were high the U.S. Open. Taylor Townsend defeated Lafayas, Yelaina Osterpinko. Oh, Thompson defeated the 25th rank Osterpinko 7561. After the match, Osterpinko confronted Townsend, as they shook hands in the net while exiting the court. Townsend spoke about it, said it's competition. People get upset. when they lose. Some people say bad things. She told me I have no class, no education. Oh. And to see what happens when we get outside the U.S.
Starting point is 00:36:20 Ooh. Okay. That was, okay, I like that. I like that. That's spicy talk. That's spicy talk. Not from what I understand and what I know about the situation, she's already beating her outside of the U.S. if I'm not mistaken,
Starting point is 00:36:34 huh? I did my homework. So based on what she said in her comeback after losing at the U.S. open, it didn't make any sense because I've already beat you outside the U.S. And you just have to understand on how to lose better. Gracefully. That's sportsmanship and lose gracefully.
Starting point is 00:36:53 You know, that's all. That's all. But this is good for the sport, uncle. This is good for the sport. Obviously, everything when it comes to tennis is always about sportsmanship and no shaking hands and being nice. Let's have a little controversy. Let's have a controversy.
Starting point is 00:37:06 So those who don't watch the sport, well, hell, Taylor Townsend got into it with somebody. Well, I want to see what this young lady is all about. Well, if you don't watch the sport, you don't know who you don't know who Taylor Townsend or you're laying there. But you're going to know because it's on the news. Right. Because they had some type of and it's going to attract viewers
Starting point is 00:37:21 to watch tennis. You know, obviously you and I, we both watch the game of tennis. Yeah, yeah, yeah. I don't watch it as much as I used to. Not as Serena stepped away from the game. Right. Venus has stepped away from the game.
Starting point is 00:37:32 I used to watch tennis a lot, lot, lot, lot. But this was way back when they had, you know, when Stephanie Graf and Monica Sellas and all those that were, that were really, really involved. Yeah. Gabriella Sabatini, you know,
Starting point is 00:37:49 and then, you know, Serena came on to the scene, and Stozier and Clint Kleisters and Martina Hingas, Lindsay Davenport, you know, Capriotti. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:38:03 But, and then she came on all this thing, talking about, well, Ocho, what you're supposed to do, if you get one, if the ball hits the net, and it bounces over, you're supposed to hold your racket up.
Starting point is 00:38:12 I'm sorry. I'm sorry. That wasn't supposed to happen. Oh, and you know, normally when you warm it up, you started the back, you know, the baseline and then you go to volley. Right. Taylor, I guess you said, Taylor started with the volley first and, man, stop it. But those, you thought every, that ain't why you lost? Yeah, those must be unwritten rules in the game. They, they are. No, because you see it a lot of time. If somebody hit the net and the ball goes over, you're like, Like you hold your record up, said, I'm sorry, my bad, my bad.
Starting point is 00:38:44 Hey, and you know, like, and you know, you warm up from the baseline, but then you know, you come in and so forth and so. Right. Bro. Okay. So that's why you lost because she didn't acknowledge like, oh, I'm sorry, my bad. That was, you should have won that point. I didn't, she didn't do that.
Starting point is 00:39:03 Oh, because I volleyed first instead of, you know, play, I was at the net instead of baseline, that's why you lost. So that's why you lost. No, not at all. it all. No, it wasn't. Stop that. And then you're going to talk, hold on. Then you're going to talk about you have no class, no education. Like I said, I don't know if she knows the stereotypes that's around American. So I don't know if there's a whole lot of black lapians. So don't start me lying on you. I ain't been serious. Man, she should have known. You don't know what you don't know. Right. So he probably did. I mean, but you have to be careful. That's why you have to be careful how you talk to people that's not native to your country or you're not in your country. Right. Because you don't know. Oh, absolutely. That's offensive. absolutely that there's a racial undertone that he probably didn't even know shit she knows
Starting point is 00:39:48 but it's 2025 she know obviously certain people feel they're superior to those in this case than miss Townsend which is why the words that came out of your mouth is what was said it's common sense you know exactly what you're saying no class no education
Starting point is 00:40:04 you understand the undertone what that means yeah come on that I want to give it a benefit of doubt don't you. I want to get a... No, we didn't give it a benefit of that. Hell, no, hell no, hell no. We know exactly what we said. We know exactly what we said.
Starting point is 00:40:19 Okay. Yeah. Yeah. So you have to be, you have to be mindful of how you talk to people in their country. I mean, I wouldn't go, I wouldn't go to, you know, Roland Garo. So I wouldn't go to, I wouldn't go to Austria to the Open and say, and say something, you know, that, because I don't know what's, what's disrespectful. Hmm. Something that we might think is innocent, but I do know if I say somebody doesn't have class, they don't have any education. It don't matter what color you are. Hey, hold on. It's respectful. It don't matter what country you in and what language you say that in. It's defensive everywhere you go.
Starting point is 00:40:58 But if you say that to the, in Mr. Spino's case, right. She said what she said being her color, her complexion, her race. And she said that to Ms. Townsend, and her being her, her complexion, her race. And she said that to Ms. Townsend, and her being her. her race yeah yeah yeah got me man shit I don't but Taylor said hey I let my racket do the talking that's it that's it that's it by racket to talk and all that other shit in matter of fact you should told her I see you at the next tournament yeah and you say something like that again this racket going to be a toothpick because I'm a beat it to a toothpick side you know that Nah, it ain't gonna be though. Nah, hey, Taylor's like, you know what?
Starting point is 00:41:42 I got a child, think she got a child. Didn't she just have a, didn't she have a child recently? Yeah. So she's like, look, I ain't got time. I'm gonna be a, I'm gonna be a positive role model for my child. Right. And me getting into it, she held it very well
Starting point is 00:41:54 because she pointing all in the girl, all in the faith. Well, they do that at. They do that laugh for you. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. We don't, we don't do that. Man, you know how women. And there's nobody to let you just put their finger. Even if it's competition,
Starting point is 00:42:06 ain't nobody putting to just let you, especially, tennis I bet you want to do that to be oh ring she wanted to do that at arena oh they they play with ring no hmm got big ring tell hey don't you talk to me you are going to cost me a point with a bulljad call don't you talk to me I didn't get a ring get up rena yeah don't talk to me they were they were cheat arena Lionsgate is holding a screening of the long walk. Oh, I'm going.
Starting point is 00:42:40 I'm going. Where you have to walk three miles an hour or faster on a treadmill for the entire movie. Theaters have been retrofitted with treadmills. If you stop, you'll be escorted out of the theater and watch the rest of the film. Nah, hell no, because I like that. I like that. You want to go? No, hell no.
Starting point is 00:43:03 When I go to a movie, I want to sit down and walk. The name of the movie is called A Long Walk. So ain't no movie on the show? It's a movie on the screen, right? Yeah, the movie on the screen. But in order to watch the movie, we need you exercise and actually walking, walking, three miles and hours. Well, you walk with me while I sit there and eat my nachos.
Starting point is 00:43:24 Now, you can walk and eat your nachos. It's a gradual walk. Three miles an hour is comfortable. That's a good. That's a good. That's a good pace. Oh, Cho. Good pace.
Starting point is 00:43:34 Three miles an hour for, for, for, probably like 70 to 90 minutes. Yeah, that's good, that's a good pace. I ain't trying to walk, man. And shh, man, you know, man, listen, man, that ain't nothing. Three miles an hour? At least, it said at least.
Starting point is 00:43:50 Yeah, that, no. I think it's interesting. I think it's fun. What about the long sit down? Where that movie at? And that's why we're obese. That's me, that's what I'm going for. I'm going to the movie.
Starting point is 00:44:02 What's that movie now, Jordan? Ain't something in the movie now that I want to see? Yes, highest the lowest. Oh, yeah. That's about to be on what you call them. That's about to be streamed. Yeah, on the fifth. You ain't seen it yet?
Starting point is 00:44:13 This is a good movie, man. Real good movie. I ain't been to watch no Harry Potter here. Who? Oh. Harry Potter got a good guy. I said, no, I ain't into that kind of stuff. There's got to be something, huh?
Starting point is 00:44:28 You're like Harry Potter? I mean, I've seen a couple of them, but that ain't, that ain't my thing. Oh, no, I ain't ever seen. I was just curious. never seen him either. Huh? Oh, no, Superman? I don't even know if I've seen one of them since Crystal Reeves. Oh, no. When the Spider-Man coming out? They need a spider-man. I watch Spider-Man or the Hulk. I'm watched Spider-Man. Ain't Marvel. They only got no movies coming out. Damn, what the hero movie. The Marvel movies. Anything with the Joker? Anything with the Joker? I'm going to the
Starting point is 00:45:04 movie theater. Anything with a joke, I'm going to the movie theater. After that Heath Leather, after that Heat Ledger performance, anything, and Joaquin Phoenix, I'm going to the theater. Anything with them, too, I'm going. Well, obviously, Heath Ledger passing on, but if Joaquin Phoenix is playing a Joker, I'm there. I don't care.
Starting point is 00:45:24 I like Babe. Oh, yeah, Ben. You too in charge. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, that was dope. That was dope. Hey, who played Bain? What actor is that again? Hardy.
Starting point is 00:45:35 Tom Hardy. Okay, okay, okay. Okay. A Michigan mother gave birth in a McDonald's parking lot on August 11th. And to honor the Golden Arch's entrance to the world, the family now calls her
Starting point is 00:45:50 McTilly. Boy, when that girl get older, when she get old enough she changing her name, call me Mac Tilly. Not really, in matter of fact, you know, as you get older and you go get to junior high,
Starting point is 00:46:03 get to high school, and she get to college, they're going, name going to be Tilly. You know, they're going to take the, they're going to take the makeup. They just call them at Tilly. That's not a real name on Joe. Oh, okay, okay. My bad. That's a good nickname, McTilly. Huh? They changed it to McTilly. Lord, have mercy. See, and her name, her name on B Tilly. Do you understand the privilege? Do you understand the privilege it is to be born in the McDonald's parking lot? Do you understand what that means?
Starting point is 00:46:28 I prefer to eat the food, but to be born in the parking lot in the vicinity of those fries. Or those burgers, that smell, that aroma. No, please. I kind of like the Listerine in the hospital smells. Nah, nah, no. Pinesaw on the floor. That's the kind of smell I was going for. No, but I think, oh, Joe, like in 2020, man, you know,
Starting point is 00:46:58 ain't nobody naming no Miriams, no Harriet, no Mac, you know, everybody getting these, like, these modern names now. Right. Man, absolutely. Names come with the times, huh? Names come with the time. We need to go back to what people have three, two, and three first, first names. Oh, yeah.
Starting point is 00:47:17 Mary, Mary Joseph. I mean, like the 50s and 60s, everybody's name was long as hell. But you know, the thing of, oh, you and my brother don't have a nickname. Don't have a middle name. No. Nope. You got a middle name? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:47:35 Chad Javon Johnson no me and my brother my mom gave my sister middle name but she didn't give us one oh so yeah I always wanted a middle name you think it's too late for me to get a middle name now ah you go time to the courthouse and I'll call number $20 yeah it called me my middle name gonna be huh what my middle name gonna be stacks they got a stack Steven Jackson stacks okay okay my middle name What would be a good middle name for me? That's a good question. Hell no.
Starting point is 00:48:14 No. No. How are you going to have Shaddle Lamont? Shannon Lamont sharp? Nah. Guess what? A middle name don't even fit me. Where you think about it, I don't go until, I mean, 57 years and not have a middle name,
Starting point is 00:48:31 I ain't got no middle name. Oh, well, I guess, uh, oh, Chow, the age old's question, who should pay on a first date has been reignited. A 20 year old woman took to Reddit to share her dating experience saying, we got burgers, fries to share. I ordered to cover the tip. Oh, I offered to cover the tip since he paid for the meal. Okay. He accepted and everything seemed fine until the next morning. This morning, I woke up to a Venmo request for $3.25 with a note, half the fries. Really?
Starting point is 00:49:19 Hold on. So, okay, I'm confused. He just wanted money back. He was trying to split everything down the middle then, huh? Yes. Okay. He offered to pay for the meal. Okay.
Starting point is 00:49:28 She left the tip. Okay. They agreed. Right. Then she got a Venmo. he got a binbo request the next morning for 325 with a note half the fries man y'all do it too much yeah y'all just y'all just won't y'all just want something for us to talk about yeah they they're doing a little
Starting point is 00:49:45 little yeah come on now anybody come on no I can see Ocho if it was a $200 meal right say okay we're going to split it but for fries you got to go half on fries bro you got to hey you need to get out the dating market see I'm that's why I'm so glad to be out the game, man, so I have to play these games. I don't have to deal with those problems. They're not too much, man. It's just, it's unfortunate. It's unfortunate. Everybody, there's always a discourse on 50-50 and going 80. And I'm like, my goodness. Like, it's ridiculous. It's ridiculous. It's the dating pool is most people say it has piss in it. I don't know why they say it. I think they just try to date with, with unrealistic, unrealistic expectations in general.
Starting point is 00:50:31 and nobody wants to act their wage nobody wants to act their wage let alone date within their bracket they always want the this this you man y'all just going with the old names man oh they still going with the names
Starting point is 00:50:45 yeah they're talking about Lamont they're talking about bucky I see that hey I like that Shannon Cleophis Cleophis that's that old school I like that roosevelt
Starting point is 00:51:04 I like that I like that Roosevelt that's perfect hell no according to New York Times bestselling author and CEO if you give these three kiss of death answers to a question asked by a hiring manager you're doomed saying I want to start my own business
Starting point is 00:51:20 someday saying you value work life balance saying you were let go as part of a company's recent layoffs I've never had any of those problems you working for someone you could have work-life balance you don't have it if you if you were doing your own thing ain't no work-life balance no mm-mm you can't have work-life balance now once you get to Jeff Bezos level or you get the Elon must level or you get that but ask them to they have work-life balance in the beginning or you get Bill
Starting point is 00:51:56 Gates of Steve Bomber, some of these wealthy guys, they might have work life balance now. Right. And the objective is, is to like do what you, do what you have to until you can do what you want to. Right. So there will become a time if you, if everything works out in your favor, you can get that balance, but not in the beginning. If you're starting your own thing, yeah.
Starting point is 00:52:18 I mean, because most of the time, if you work for somebody else, Joe, you know, hey, you get Saturday and Sundays off, unless, you know, you work it in the sports field now people kill me they get into the sports field and talking about man we got to work holidays yeah sports events happen on holidays right right it happens on weekends you're gonna be away from your family I'm gonna tell kid okay now you are man I want to do really that's what you want to do you do realize when sporting events take place right yeah you do realize I say are you okay being away from your family on Christmas on Thanksgiving to cover said events and do they like are you okay with that yeah
Starting point is 00:52:56 Well, you know, I come from a, I'll say, okay. Well, no, no, you're not. Because you tell me where you come from. Good luck, tell you your boss, you know, you're in the sports business. I'm talking about, no, you know, I can't work holidays. Yeah, okay. All right. That's what I'm saying.
Starting point is 00:53:17 Okay, let me know how that turns out for you. All right, Ocho. Time for our final segment of the evening. It's time for Q and A. I'm ready for tomorrow's show. That's what I'm ready for. I know I'm jumping a gun for Texas and Ohio State play tomorrow, but I'm ready.
Starting point is 00:53:34 Kimbr-N-N-Wood Jr., said, my question is, how many sacks will Micah have when they play Dallas week four? Six. Well, you know they're going to try to say, but he doesn't play the run, so they're going to try to run the ball at him, Ocho, to try to slow him down.
Starting point is 00:53:50 And the thing is, Amika's going to be hype because he wants to prove, say, hey, this is what y'all? he's going to be on one now. Cowboys, you better be on your best behavior. You better be on your best behavior. It's too late now.
Starting point is 00:54:04 It's too late. All that stuff Jerry said to him. All that going to the media. Oh, we got better. Man, Michael might have 10 sacks that damn game. I would say 2.5. Aaron Owen said, trade Michael is wild,
Starting point is 00:54:21 but if you feel like you have to trade him, You have to get Lucas Van Ness and an extra pick as well. Dallas most definitely lost this trade. Well, there's nobody you could trade for that would make the trade equivalent because no one else is giving up a player in their goddamn prime at 26-year-olds who's one of the top three at their position. So they were going to lose this trade no matter what. No matter what you get for it.
Starting point is 00:54:50 No matter what you get for. Because those first round picks you do have, ain't no telling who you're going to get. and ain't no telling, promising that they're going to turn out to be what you think. Right. So we have to see who they draft and what those picks turn into. Now, Jerry said, look, we got two first-round draft picks pick. Who's to say we don't package those and go get somebody else? That's what Jerry.
Starting point is 00:55:12 I'm just telling you what Jerry said. That's what he said now. If it's a lie, he told it. Lonzi underscore X-O. Is it safe to say that Michael Parsons is a phenomenal player, but Aidan Hutchinson still has an edge over him statistically? what is find out what is would that be i don't know your guys coming off a serious injury now he got a steel rod in his plate he says hey is he'll it ain't going no place he has a
Starting point is 00:55:38 phenomenal he has a motor yeah no denying that he was on his play i hell he was about to be a defensive player the year before he ended up breaking his leg but uh white can say at least 12 and a half sacks the first four years of the nfl anytime you're in a category with reggie you're pretty good doing something right you you you do it pretty good James Anderson said parsons and cooper double-gap blitz coming they ain't gonna have the blitz they got rishon gary on one side they got mic on the other you got to do nothing just info hey that's it's info hey a d t's Hey, just collapse the pocket.
Starting point is 00:56:26 Push it to us. Mm-hmm. O.G. underscore Thanos. What's up? Uncanocho. Which trade will have more impact on their teams? Maver's trading away Luca and Dallas. Oh, excuse me, Mavs trading away Luca or Dallas trading or the Cowboys trading away Micah. Look, I'm always going to take the guy.
Starting point is 00:56:55 that got the ball in his hands. So, Luca? That's what like saying, which would impact more? Trading a quarterback or trading, you know, a defensive guy? No, quarterback, he got the ball. And I think the thing is, I don't believe Michael wanted to be traded. Well, he wanted to be traded once they were, once they tried to make him play on that fifth year option.
Starting point is 00:57:23 Yeah. Michael wanted to be traded. Luca had no idea. I'm talking about zero. Luca did not want to leave Dallas. Did not. That would be almost the equivalent of
Starting point is 00:57:39 them trading Joe Burrow out of the blue or trading, you know, trading somebody like that. You know what I'm saying, no, Joe? Right, right. I'm like, what the hell? You got a guy in his prime? Are you trading? That's great.
Starting point is 00:57:53 Crazy. That's crazy. Players like this at this age that are this good, this rarely happens. Rarely happens, Uncle. Yes. Fans NJ said Jerry declines Micah, did not unc surprised, Liggas
Starting point is 00:58:09 in Five. Undecided said, if somebody said to me, wait until you get outside the U.S., I would have taken that as a threat and then said, let's handle it right here. that boy k s purr said got a middle name for you uh shannon bartholomew ah bartholome that's a good one what did you called me that autumn uh a wardrobe used to call me bartholomew and my wife called me
Starting point is 00:58:41 uh pissed at the colorado game like i did watch the same game she did uh yeah to the coordinator go. In fact, send them to the transfer portal. Yeah, that, yeah, that was, ooh, that was, they left a lot to be desired tonight, Ocho, on both sides of the ball. But I was really, really disappointed with the defense, giving up 320 yards rushing on 47 attempts, three touchdown. Quarterback put, you know, put you up by seven late to ball game with a 45-yard run. That was not good.
