What's going on, everybody?
It's DJ Jag.
Hello, my boy, DJ Cass.
What up, Stezy?
How are you doing, man?
We are the dissect DJs.
Let's do one of the classic jams.
Let's do it.
First of all,
how are you?
Out the gate.
Oh, my God.
Like, everybody knows.
It's one of those classic rhythms.
Comes out and everybody goes,
it's one of those songs where, if you're not
vibing left to right,
I don't really trust you.
If you hear this song and you have any kind of
negative energy.
I'm probably not going to figure you out.
Now, let's talk about the lyrics that they come up with.
He has sunshine on a cloudy day.
This man is seeing the positivity.
Absolutely.
In negativity.
Everybody hits a cloudy day.
Nobody likes clouds.
Let's be real.
You'll like it because it gives a good scene for the sun during the, you know,
when it's sunsets or something.
But nobody really likes clouds, especially when it covers your sun.
Especially when it's windy.
Windy days are the absolute worst thing in the world.
Or any cloud.
I don't like clouds.
I go through the planes and they keep their marshmallows
and you think you can walk on them and stuff
because that's what a cartoon said.
I will, I'm actually going to combat this.
I do enjoy clouds, but I like good clouds.
I like good like, you know, billowy, like make the sky look fly.
But.
Well, we disagree on cloud.
A good cloudy day has a little sunshine.
And that's what he's looking at.
But this man has sunshine on a cloudy day.
Yeah, which sounds like that sounds amazing.
Yeah.
When it's cold at the month of May
So if it's cold outside and it's October, he doesn't care because in six months after that.
He's got the month of May.
He's got the month of May that's going to warm him up.
He looks forward to the best of life.
Yeah.
He's so happy right now.
I'm going to be honest, when it's cold in October and I'm like, I got May, I'm still like, May is six months away.
It's not the best month either.
It's not even a great month.
It's cold.
I'll list my birthday.
That's kind of cool.
It's our birthday.
October is, yeah.
October is, yeah.
October.
But I like October with it in May.
Maybe the singer, like May is his month.
Like, October is us.
But, like, yeah, I don't hold May in a high regard.
It's a good month.
It's, like, top five.
It's top five.
It's up there.
It's up there.
Okay.
Give me your top five months.
October.
Number one?
Yeah.
You're going to, okay.
You're going front to back.
You're like your spice and stuff.
Number one is October.
Yeah, yeah.
I'm figuring out as I go.
Okay.
So.
October's number one.
I know that.
Now I don't even care anymore.
I don't care what number two is.
Let's go July.
You didn't build up anything.
August.
Okay, so it goes October, July, August.
Uh-huh.
Do I dare say December?
December?
And then May, because you said May is top five.
Yeah, there you go.
All right, let's do it.
I'm down.
I would say June, but June's always all super foggy out here, so I'm really like June.
You know what?
I'm literally in step with you.
you. I think it's it. November is number six. It's legit. I give November number six because Thanksgiving.
Okay, I'll give it to it, but like I don't want to. I don't really like November that much because
that's when the time starts getting dark earlier. Yeah, but you got Thanksgiving the whole like five-day
weekend and goes into December of which is a nice month. It makes it nicer. Yeah. It builds into it. Anyway,
yeah. All right, cool. I got the month. The point is we got that month of May.
We got the month of May. Yeah. When it's cold outside. When it's cold outside.
Talking about...
This man loves his girl.
Talking about the girl.
One thing I've realized in doing the amount of DJing I've done over the last 15 years,
he never speaks as if this is his wife or lover.
This is just his girl.
So very clearly this could actually be his daughter.
Ooh.
Or his mother.
Wow.
Or some other type of...
It got to be female.
I've never heard it that way.
But yeah, you always think it's your girl that you're talking about.
No, I think of it like your girl.
Yeah.
could be any kind of girl that's just in your life at this point.
So any girl that makes your sunshine to your day could be anyone.
So this man is going deep and you don't know what he's talking about.
He's talking about his girl.
This man's got so much honey.
What does you say?
I'm kind of mad that you cut out in the middle of that trumpet.
I haven't see what he says.
I got so much, honey.
The bees envy me?
The bees envy me?
Really?
I thought it was the bees in the knees.
I didn't.
That's what I was
He said something there
It's deep
He's got so much honey
The bees envy them
Because he's got so much in
And the horns
Come in
With a beast
Of the horn
For the record
You cut out
Before the horns
Get complete
And I'm upset with you
That's great poetry
Actually
I like that
The bees
Envy this man
So much honey
Let me reverse
Back like three seconds
All right
We're going back
Just a bit
Because we've got to hear that
Again
I've got
So
Much
I'm hurting the bees in the
I've got a sweeter song
than the birds in the tree
The birds in the trees
Actually, I'm just ready
For him to get to the next part
Because it's like the best part
It is, it's good
But I want to talk about these birds of the trees
Real quick
Birds in the Trees are actually annoying
Very rarely and we're like
Oh, look how sweet their song is
I got a sweetest song
But very rarely are birds singing a sweet song.
You're just like, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, they're like random sounds.
They're not very, actually.
Every once in a while, you hear him be like,
but he must be talking about that bird, like specifically.
Let's be honest, because there's no way he's talking about,
but he's talking about birds, multiple birds.
I never ever heard multiple birds sing a song in rhythm, right?
So I don't know what birds he's talking about.
He's just going, he's going to do with poetry.
excuse me I love birds
I'm sorry
no I'm not
but not the song of birds
I'm like there's a bird
outside my window
that does the same sound
every morning
and I what's the sound
I can't tell you what it is right now
because it's not my head
but when as soon as I hear it
I'll be like that's the fuck
how long have you heard the sound
it's the same thing
so five six years
and it's the same sound
right outside of the window
and you can't come up with the sound
that's in your head
I'm sorry sir
you have no evidence
well
I can't
my girl
Wasn't that the smoothest breakdown right there?
You know what I love about this one?
I love that he says,
hey, I guess you'd say,
what can make you feel this way?
My girl.
My girl.
See, I don't know how you could hear this as anything but your girl that you're just super into.
Like, this song oozes, it's just you being so stoked on your girl.
I know you're trying to say like, oh yeah, the words say it could be like your daughter or your mom.
I don't know.
I think it's just because that's the interpretation you've come up with.
because I'm seeing like a
The entire vibe of this song
is just the happiest.
I'm in such a good mood.
My daughter,
Henning hands,
she's,
her feet are on my toes.
Yeah,
okay,
fine.
And I'm like dancing with her.
All right,
I'm hearing it.
If I had a,
I don't have a kid.
If I had a daughter,
this would all make more sense.
Because I'm a dissect DJ
and I like to put myself in places
that are going to put me in places.
That's what I'm imagining.
All right.
Well,
when I hear my girl,
I'm just thinking,
my girl like that's my girl
who's in a
no but I hear Pony by Jopode
Yeah
Yeah which by the way are we
Let's do that one
I feel like we feel like in the next one next
Alright we got a next one
We gotta get through
We gotta get through this song right out
Everybody ready to dance come on
What's this dance move called right here
The shoot
The shoot
Or the shovel
Everybody's doing the shovel right now
Sing it!
Honestly, what I hear in this song is just the epitome of happiness.
Like, this guy is so stoked right now.
He loves his girl, and he just wants to sing about it.
I know you keep thinking that she's lover, but...
It might be his daughter?
Yeah, I don't know.
I'm seeing...
Fortune or fame.
He doesn't need no margin of...
Because he has his daughter, man.
His daughter has everything to him.
I got all the riches, baby.
One man can claim...
What?
More lover.
Or grandmother or mother.
Any woman that's in his life, I think we established this earlier.
Your point is, it's making them so happy.
You just can feel, the music is making you feel like this person's just like floating with happiness.
Looking around like, oh my God, this doesn't get better than this because I got my girl.
This has even got the month of May.
Like, it's like an extra thing he's got.
He's got the month of May.
He's been withholding that.
Like, hey, Loki though.
He got sunshine.
I got the month of May.
Which is, it's not really a thing that you have that way.
It's an actual month of time that we all just lived through.
He looks forward to it because he has her.
I know, but like he's saying it.
Like, it's something like he holds up his jacket.
He's like, yo, I even got the month of May in that.
I'm not.
He doesn't need fortune or fame with this young lady.
I mean, a lot of people will tell you that because they don't have that.
So, yeah, get used to trying to do without it.
It's easy to say that when you're like, hey, I don't need fortune or fame.
I got the month of May.
But he has all the riches
That one man can claim
Does he really though
Yeah
I question that
I go oh well
If it's about his girl then yeah
Because he didn't
Or his daughter
He probably doesn't
Or his mother
I mean his girl is his girl
Whoever's your girl
That's your girl
That's your girl
Yep
He doesn't need money
But I'm just like you know right now
If this is your girl
And not your daughter
Or mother or grandma
This is your girl
You're gonna need some money
Howie
I know you don't think
you need a fortune.
You probably don't need a fortune.
Dude, what are we even talking about?
You better have some money.
I'm just doing, I'm dissecting this real quick.
And he's talking about he doesn't need money.
You better need money.
I was trying to lean into the next prize on.
Talking about.
Talking about.
I think we have established.
I think we've talked about my girl.
Thank you, temptations.
Thank you, my girl.
Thank you, temptations.
What a great piece of music.
You guys all knew it.
You knew we loved it.
The moment you heard you were like,
What are these guys going to say about this?
Also, let me just say the reason that we've been singing this all day
is because today is the national championship game for college football.
And we've been watching Sunshine Trevor Lawrence.
I was like, Sunshine.
And every single time they showed a close of them, we just broke out into,
I got sunshine.
And he lost, well, whatever.
It was a good song.
It was a good song.
Thank you, Trevor.
I won 20 bucks on it.
I saw it for the day.
You started us off the start of the Dicek DJs.
All right, I think we got some claps and snaps to talk about
It's slaps and snaps
BT Doves
You're better than me
Yeah
Just a given slaps usually
Because my slaps is always on point
And that's why
Today for my girl, I give it
You see that?
This is me just raining snaps
Four claps and a bunch of snaps
Over it, like a crushed up
Recy PC on a Sunday
It's just an amazing piece of music history
Really
Like you can't go through
what is it like the 60s without touching on my girl like the temptations as a whole
such a classic piece of just music brilliance that we had for that whole soul area they were
really i think the forference they're top of it for me so i you got to appreciate on top of it
it's just a happy song like you can't listen to it not be happy so um yeah it's an easy just
a bunch of snaps all over the v snaps all over the place for me are you ready for me yep all right
we got to give it a of course it gets three from me
It gets three.
There are better temptation songs.
There are better Motown songs.
Now, this is one of those songs that everybody knows from the movie
and because it's a classic, you know, song.
But actually, you know what?
Let me fix my snap.
You're going to mend?
I'm going to mend.
Here we go.
Oh, you took a snap.
You took a slap away.
I took a slap away.
What is it?
Slap.
A slap.
I took a slap away.
Here's why.
It's played out.
It's not that top of a Motown song.
It's cliche.
It's easily done.
It has a good rhythm and it has a good beat.
We all get a little warm and fuzzy.
That's what gives it a one and two.
But beyond that,
and, you know, it's just, it's not,
it's not that there's so many better songs in that time.
So, it's a, it's a song that,
all right, I'm gonna amend it one more time.
Can I mend it one more time?
Is it, I get one more minute.
You get a second amendment?
One more.
No, I got to check the rule book.
All right.
Last one, here we go.
You don't throw some snaps in there.
Put the little birds and the bees in the back,
give us some snaps.
So I'm giving it two and a bunch of snap
because it is a classic.
You got to give it a top.
That's a fair compromise.
I'll allow it. I'll allow it.
Judge says it's okay.
And that's, yep.
It's a time importance piece.
Like, it's got to be the right time for it.
And when you want something that's like a nice,
maybe like a happy slow dance,
or maybe just kind of like a, hey, like we're listening
to fond memory music of the past.
Like, it's kind of like one of those.
And like, if you just, as I was saying,
if you want to just kind of feel real good about your girl,
just have a nice little like, you know,
you and her rocking back and forth kind of song.
Perfect for that.
That's what it's for.
You're not going to hear it when you want to get hyped up.
You're going to go work out of the gym.
Or you're going to go, like, get your boogie on.
You know, whatever.
I don't know.
I don't know if people are still getting the boogie on.
It probably are.
I don't know.
But, you know, it has this time.
It has its time.
That's fine.
And when it's that time, it's a force slap and a bunch of little...
All right.
And with that, ladies and gentlemen,
next!
