206: My Halloween
00:00This is an IHeart podcast.Guaranteed Human. How do you know that Claude won't become manipulative? This is a constant worry. And you can actually catch the model thinking,I think X is actually true, but I'm going to tell the user why.I'm Walter Isaacson.
00:18On my new podcast, The Builders,I'm going inside the minds of the people shaping our future.Listen to The Builders, starting October 13th,on the iHeart radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. If anyone wanted to commit a murder, up here would be the greatest place in the world to hide the body. But no one will find it.He acted friendly. He talked friendly. He sounded friendly. They all knew that I did the scary boogie stuff, and I said, maybe she'll find out where this girl is.
00:57I saw him violent. Backhanded a bow!Listen to the Devil's Quarry Season 2 in the Bone Valley Feed on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts.Michael Lewis here to tell you about my new book, Blockers, which gives you an inside look at the Trump administration and the public servants who stood in its way. These were people who were securing our most sensitive data, keeping the public safe from all sorts of threats, and engaged in life-saving scientific research.until they were told they no longer belonged. And the question to me is,if they can't survive in our government, then what does it say about us?
01:45Get Blockers Now only at blockers.fm.Welcome to the program for the first time, Mr. John Higgins. It's John Higgins, everybody.I'm so, so happy to be here, Jewel. That's Joelle Monique. And Joelle Monique, you remember Ava Bunn?Hi, Joelle.Of course.
02:06Hi, hi, and Eva.Lovely to see you.Ava, you wanted to wear, you mentioned it, you might wear a full, what were you going to wear?A nude morph suit. A nude morph suit. What is that? And explain that to the audience for people who are listening and to me. And to me.So it's a nude morph suit that it covers your fingers and toes and just leaves out the head, the face. And it kind of just makes you look like a fetus kind of. Yeah, it just kind of makes you look like a fetus. But the character that I do with it is Gilroy. And let's let's meet Gilroy.I'm afraid to meet Gilroy.I want to meet Gilroy.
02:41And Gilroy is just looking for a slice of gum.Slice of gum.I think it's good you didn't bring Gilroy because it would have been hard to sit here and have a serious, even humorous conversation with you in a full body onesie.I would have loved it.Gilroy might appear later.Okay, maybe in future podcasts. It'd be funny, like, minute 30 talking to Gilroy. You know what you should do it.
03:07Just all of a sudden, like without addressing it in the audience for the last like 15 minutes she's in the suit. She brought it.I brought it.It's in my car.Okay.This might have to happen.I was like, oh, you didn't bring it out of there.Yeah, she brought it.
03:22I was on Rick Glassman's podcast and I brought a few different shirts because I was like, I don't know what's going to look best. You tell me what'll look best. And he goes, why don't we do a thing where just without addressing it, we both switch our clothes four times throughout the episode. And I go, really?Yeah, and we did that.Yeah.Four different times,we just both changed our full outfits.
03:42Did anybody say anything?Yeah, in the comments, people were like, what the fuck's going on?It's so funny.Well, John, welcome to the show.Welcome to the show.Welcome to the looks.Let's give the man the props he deserves.
03:55Thundrous applause.Thunderous applause, baby.John, you are such a great addition to the show.I'm having so much fun working with you.Me too.I am so thankful to be a part of this. It's so amazing, truly. You can riff.
04:08For those you don't know,John is in a troop called Please Don't Destroy. And they were on SNL as a troop for a while. And you still tour with these guys, right?Yeah.Well, we've been shooting in Vancouver.I've been going back and forth to, you know, wherever we've been doing shows.
04:22And yeah, we still tour. It's so fun working with you because you're very quick. And I love how you riff. And I love doing scenes with you because we just come up with such silly shit. And some of it doesn't make it because it's bad shit. And some of it, it reminds me of what I used to work.with Neil Flynn because we would just riff stuff and some of it would be like, this is insane. And some of it would be like, well, this is not going to make the show, but it's funny.
04:45And then it would make the show. And then people would love it and we'd be like, wow, okay.I feel that I'm having that kind of fun when you and I are doing our thing.I feel that way about all of you guys so much.We went to that dinner, I think for Spiller's birthday, who was one of the directors.Directing producer, yeah. And we all went around and it was like the second week I was here. And we all went around and said something nice.
05:07about Spiller and you guys have known him forever and I didn't know what I was going to say but thenI remembered this quote and I think of it is so true of there's not a word yet for old friends who youjust met and I really felt that way about you guys because you just like took me in immediately and Ifelt a part of this like family and it was like thank you no thank you man you jumped right inyou jumped into the deep end too and swam very very easily it was like you were born to be onthis show and we do have to credit uncle Bill Lawrence yes because theyLawrence is a big fan of John Higgins. And Bill Lawrence is a good friend to have, you guys.
05:43One of the most important friends you ever. He's a pretty darn good friend to have.Donald and I have hitched our wagons to the Bill Lawrence.I have been holding on.Holding on.I've been holding on.But it was Bill in this season who had this idea that just the way J.D.was a thorn in Cox's side.
06:05What if there was someone underneath J.D.,who was also, you know, was obviously a source of conflict for him,who was a thorn in his side, who kind of, in a way that would drive J.D. crazy, you know, and so not only was that seed of that character, Bill's idea, but then when we start talking about people,he really championed wanting John Higgins to join the showbecause he finds you hilarious. That's so amazing.
06:31So there you go.Thank you, Uncle Bill.Thank you, Uncle Bill.Thank you, Uncle Bill.Ava.Ava.Well, Ava.What?
06:39Ava has also benefited from having Bill be a big fan of her.All right, let's count us in Donald.Five, six, seven, eight.Welcome to episode 206, as we say, of the revival. It's Halloween at Sacred Heart. So I want to put out there that this episode that we've seen is to time and not cut to locked. This would what I saw was to time.Does that mean it's locked?
07:33Yeah.What you saw should be 2130 and that means it's locked.Okay.Then never mind. There might be things in it that aren't, aren't.Did you, were you looking for edits and stuff?Yeah.Well, that's the thing.
07:45I get a lot of shows now and this.A new era has unfortunately begun where Donald doesn't.EP has access to early cuts of the show. And I get texts like, don't leave that in. You're not going to leave that in.You're not going to leave that in.Don't take this out.Yeah, or more often, don't take this out.
08:09Well, this one was really funny. My first thing I wanted to say was that Raffey being death in,there was another beat that had to get cut.Yes.But that's when Raffy walked up to an old woman and she said,And he was wearing his death costume. And she said, please, not tonight.I have tickets for Les Miz.
08:31It was so good. And, right? And Rafi, see, this is something that we all laughed out on the day, but had to go for time.Well, all right. So there's a couple of things that happened in this. It's a Halloween episode, first of all.And not only is it the Halloween episode, we learn that Grant does not like Halloween.Yes, right off the bat.
08:50Right away. That's one of the first things he says.He enters.I do not like Halloween.Do you see all these people dressed up around here, especially that dude at the Mario outfit? He probably doesn't have good sex with his wife. And then Turk comes in.
09:03Yeah, he loves Halloween.Love Halloween. And he wants the Mario. He thinks that costume is amazing. He hopes they have it in double X.Right, because Turk's big.And JD's morning Charlie and looking and getting coaching right away from everyone, especially Turk and Carla,
09:23saying, dude, this is the perfect holiday. There's a buffet of booty everywhere. You can get over Charlie with a mindless crush. What is that about Halloween that it turns into that?Because when your kids, Halloween's about, you know,do I got a really dope outfit on?But at the end of the night, someone has a really dope outfit on
09:42and everybody else has kind of lame outfits on,if you ask me.Yeah. Let's just keep it a buck.Yeah.How come Halloween is turned into that? For some reason, there's a group of people that dress really provocative.Yeah, well, I think it's fun for people who get a chance to have permission to say, like, tonight's the night I'm going to be sexy.
10:04Yeah, I'm going to be sexy.Do you feel this pressure to be funny on Halloween where it's like, I'm like, oh, God, it's like, and I have to do a whole bit.Penny.There's Penny.Come on in, babe. But, and then one Halloween, I thought it would be funny if I, if I did.dressed up is really sexy.
10:24And I was like, that would be so funny becauseI don't know I'd expect it. But then I realizedOh, like your friends would think it was like, what the hell? But then I realized it's notthat funny. No, it's justit's not funny. And cold.I always feel when I see thewomen who are scantily clad,
10:41I'm like, they must be so cold. Yeah.Wait, how did you realize that it wasn'tfunny? Well, because then I waslike, a bathroom. A friend's trying to hook up.I was like, wait, I would justbrand you. What? No, I was just standing in my bathroom
10:56and looking myself like, this isn't me.What was your costume?Yeah, what was your sexy costume?I was going to dress up like a sexy girl. That was my costume. It was just like sexy girl.Like that's not a white dress or something.Ava, it's usually a sex.
11:11We should all guess. What's a sexy girl? No, but I mean, Ava, it's usuallylike sexy snow white.Sexy snow white.Yeah.It was just like, oh, I'll be sexy girl.Oh, and then...
11:22And then this is what was messed up.I had a boyfriend at the time, and I was like, oh, let's, like, dress up as he's the horse, and I'm the cowgirl. And that'll be so cute. And he wore a full horse head, like, covering his face. This is a great costume.Great costume. And I think that's good. And I was a cute little cowgirl, and girls kept hitting on him and didn't even notice me.
11:46And they just went straight. And I was like, you can't even see his face. Why was a horse?Because he's tall and...That's all he needed to do.Tall and a horse...And they can use their imagination.Like, I bet there's a really hot guy
11:55under that horse head.Yes, that's what it is.They put their own image on.That's what it is.I was flamed for Halloween. What?Really? In the fourth grade, yeah.
12:05No way.And I tried to pull up the picture, but he was quick. He was in and out so I can show up to him. When you met him on Scrubs? My go-to-these is, because it's very easy,is Raygun, the Australian female break dancer? That's great.Because I have the full, I ordered the full outfit, the Australian breakdancing uniform.
12:23I have ordered that online. And it's hanging in my closet.I never have to worry.I can always be Reagan. All you got to do is just go like this and people know who you are. That's good. That'll hit hard this year because she just had a documentary.Yeah, she just had a document about her so I say I can bring it back out.
12:39You go hard on Halloween ever since I'd known you. When that first Halloween, when we went to the Playboy Mansion, you dressed up as Dracula. And that's-Yeah, not Dr. Acula, but Dracula.I know. And that shit was fire. And then one Halloween.Well, it was, we were, we were newly successful.I was newly successful.
12:58And we got invited to a Halloween party at the Playboy Mansion.I was like, I should probably put on a good costume.Yeah, one Halloween, you dressed up like me.And I was so proud of you because you didn't go on blackface.Yeah.That's nice.I was so proud of you.Like I would ever do that.
13:11But I was, you know, some people, some dumb asses. How did I do?Some people are.You remember like, I'm going to put on blackface tonight. How was I?I was like baggy clothes and a Knicks hat. What did I wear? No, you put on a bald cap.
13:24Oh.This is how you, this is when I was like, I think I, I think the bulb cap was brown. No, it wasn't.It was white. But this is when I was like, oh, there's times where I'm going to want to punch thismotherfucker in the mouth.Because you were like, you said to me, yo, you're going to love my costume.I'm going as the duchiest person you've ever seen in your life.
13:42And you set me up for a week with that shit. That's hilarious. You set me up for a week. And then you walked on the set and was.I was like, sound, this is my level. And you did my fucking bit and everything.Oh, my God.And I was like, this motherfucker's going to get it one day.
13:57I think that was just at the scrubs for a gag with you.I don't think I wore that out on the town. No, you know, no, but that was for Halloween. It was a Halloween. It was a prank on you.On Halloween. That was funny, though. It was funny.
14:08Let's get back to the show. There's a buffet of booty at the hospital. And then Elliot comes in saying, everybody come outside, and we all get very excited.for the ice cream truck.Well, we don't know that it's ice cream truckuntil we hear the music. We hear the music. We get ice cream.
14:24We start dancing. We're so excited.Turk says he hopes they have the little squirrelwith the bubble gum nose. This is very much Eddie Murphy's sketch.Ice cream!Ice cream!Yeah.
14:35You know the tag is on your hat. It's supposed to be?That's the joke.I know, but you're doing like the key and peel sketch right now. That's the joke, bro.Just checking. It doesn't have a sticker. It does have a sticker.
14:45It has a sticker and a tag.My brother makes a sticker.this hat.Oh.That's cool.I just wanted the audiencewho's listening to knowyou're doing the key and peels catch.
14:53That's the joke, man.If I could have it in the bag,it would be in the bag.Okay.So ice cream, ice cream. It's not an ice cream truck. It's a mobile health care clinic.Elliot is developing.
15:04And everybody doesn't like that.Everybody leaves. And JD, I don't know where sheso quickly gets a chocolate squirrelwith a gumball nose.I think it's supposed to be some time later. It's the world of scrubs. It's the world of scrubs.
15:17It's the world of scrubs. It's one just to peer. And we're off to the races when J.D. taste that gumball nose.Well, her truck catches fire, too. It's a piece of shit truck. It does also catch fire.Right. She has a piece of shit truck.Yeah, she's going to have to start from scratch.Yes, pretty much.
15:33Bottom of the barrel.Yes.But this all comes from, you know, we've been building up to this all season longwhere Elliot's trying to figure out what it is that she wants to do.Yes.And she's finally found something.know if it's going to work, but she's invested 100% into it. And this is something that is verynew for her. But she's trying to make her mark in the medical deal. Yeah, she's looking for her
15:59lane to really make a difference. And this women's health care clinic is what it's going to be.Right. Then we come to the first act and we learn that we've got this real jerk who is lookingfor his concierge doctor. He talks about how he has, he owns an aeronautics.company and he makes bombs and Dubois says the only bombs I care about are bath bombs. And Cox is back and he's looking quite healthy and Jady is very pleased to see him and it'sbecause he is going to, he claims that he's bored and he's going to be a concierge doctorcatering to the very rich. That is a fall, bro, for Dr. Cox if you ask me.
16:45I know he's bored.but to me in seeing thatand even in the beginning of it allit was like you went from the herolike it's a line thatthat uh that uhtwo face says in in batmanyou either die a hero or you live long enough
17:05to see yourself become a villainand now Cox has lived long enoughthat his hero days are now overand he's crossed overto pretty much the dark sidethe shit that fucking all of us in thehospital looked down. Well, actually what JD started doing in season one in the pilot, that people who work in this hospital and work their asses off saving lives look down upon
17:27as a as a cash grab as a way of making a living that they don't respect as much.Particularly Cox, who said, what the hell are you doing being a concierge doctor in season one ofthe revival? I trained you to be better than that. But as we're going to learn, obviously, through the episode, there's more to the story than that. He's not bored. You know, I got to sayIt was interesting watching Johnny play sort of beta to this alpha guy because that's just not in Johnny's nature.Yeah.As a man, as a-Even your voice cracked at that moment.
18:00I got a comfortable thinking about it to him.No, I just remember thinking like John is very intense and his performance is going to have to be, in this character, he's going to get bossed around by another man and degraded.Yeah.And I was aware that it was going to help John inform playing the characterbecause he was genuinely feeling those feelings of like, fuck this guy.And as John's performance is so wonderful in this episode,I think it inevitably helped him because he did not like it in real life or as the character.Yeah.
18:36You can feel the friction. It's really, really good.If you're on set, you feel the friction.Yeah.Like even if you're disrespectful to the character, are in the show. It's like, I don't want to fucking get the last that's coming my way. When you had that in your first episode where you go, do you ever just not, do you ever
18:54just say one sentence and stop?Yeah. So, which is hilarious. But no one in the world of scrubs speaks up to Cox like that.So just Johnny for like 25 years of playing this guy, you could see that he kind of tensedup at it.Like, even when we were shooting it, right?Yeah, I remember.
19:10Yeah.And I was like, dude, I didn't write it.I'm just saying mine.I know.I felt.I don't think of him.Because he was like, nice to meet you.I didn't write this.
19:17I'm such a fan of his.And his face, his reaction was so real.He didn't love it.No, he did not.No, I'm saying Johnny C. didn't love me.Yeah, I know.Yeah.But that was the most quoted thing that people have messaged me after that.
19:32Because I think it must have been surprising to see.Nobody's ever done that.Nobody's ever done that. And here we have a whole episode where he has to be subservient to a douchebag of a man.and even when we did the table read, you could feel John just like,he was adding curses. He cursed me.
19:50He was,oh, shit. You know, occasionally people,oh, God.You know, it's funny because, you know, for those of you who, you know, aren't in the business of doing table readsand that kind of thing, you know,
20:03people will add a little line here or thereor they might add a curse, even though we know, obviously, there's not going to be a curse on the show.During that table read, John added like three curses.Yeah.Fuck.And I remember.
20:12thinking like what's going on? Like it's one thing to add one fuck that we all know won't be inthe show, but he's added a couple fucks. Yeah, there's like three of them. Yeah. And then I went, oh,he doesn't, he is uncomfortable, A, and B, that's going to be good for Johnny to play. It'llwork. Yes, it'll work. All right, good.Pride is like love. You feel it in your heart. 21:46But when you say us, who's us?Is it 400 people that you know in Silicon Valley? Is it me down here in New Orleans? They're brilliant, controversial, and they're already shaping the future. The question is, whose imagination do we want to live in?This is going to determine the fate of nations and economies and the future of humanity.Listen to the builders on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts.I'm Hamza and I'm Martin and we're the hosts of Out of Character it's a podcast I know there's a lot of them to listen to these days how are you going to get to us well there's a specific reason why you should listen to us we are the best podcast in the entire world I swear I know bold but why don't we list some of the things we might talk about on a regular episode so sometimes we'll talk about I don't know the Uber driver we just had and how nice they were or if we tip them or not come and find out sometimes we'll talk about that weird news story from last

23:22Jade questions the confession her grandmother made just before she died. She said she is the Mrs. Jones in the famous song, Me and Mrs. Jones. And Dan wants to know how he was hired by a professional baseball team when it was so obvioushe lied his way in.I came up with fake batting averages.I said I hit 401, 415, and 310.That's really good. But I didn't do that.
23:46I made it up.This season, we risk life and limb to get answers. It seems like maybe we should have brought hazmat suits.Answers to life's biggest questions.Sorry, are you eating something?Yeah. What are you eating? What difference does it?
24:05All the difference in the world.Sorry, are you eating something?Listen to Heavyweight on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts.Hey everybody, it's me, W. Comaubel. This season of my podcast who's with me, I speak with two-time Emmy winner and weirdly one of my best friends, Kevin Avery.Everything up to that point, build you as a comic.Us going on the road, doing Battle Mountain and Ely.Yeah, you took me.
24:34You were one of the first people who took me on the road, which is funny because at the time I was like, I don't know if I like this guy. With rapper, actor, David Diggs. The jump off for me was Hamilton, and it was the most popular thing in a very long time. But it was still, for me, it was me and my friends making something dumb.Bruce Lee's daughter and Brandon Lee's sister, Shannon Lee.Back to your initial point of stewarding my father's legacyand giving my energy to that.
25:03You're lending your life to stewarding somebody else's life.Listen to Who's with me withwith W. Quimald Bell on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts,or wherever you get your podcasts. So, what's next?We get to the, we go to the, the, the, shit, the lunchroom, the cafeteria.Yes.That was a fucking porky pig moment for me.
25:32We get to the lunchroom where we find out about.Going dummy with it.Now, tell me about going dummy with it.Because you young folks seem to know what it was.Well, I had never heard of going dummy with it.No, I mean.Well, no, that was made up.Oh, but wait.
25:51Going dumb is a thing. But didn't you guys say that like in the Bay Area there's a slang or something?I think.Or that wasn't you guys. That was somebody else. That was someone. One of the writers, I think, wrote in something about the Bay Area.Yeah.
26:06You started saying going dummy with it.Yeah.And I just kind of went, go dummy.with it, go dummy with it.And then it turned into this whole thing and it's really funny.Yeah.Now what I think is cute, sweet as we learn as we begin this relationship between these twoas reluctant buddies question mark.
26:26Yeah.That she was like looking out for you.Like you're humiliating yourself.Yes.And I'm going to help you because this is so embarrassing for you.I love it when characters do that. When Ava comes over, she was, I'm trying to help you out.Like that's, I love that because it's just like, oh, there's this whole backstory with them that we don't even know about that we're just learning about now.
26:48And it was like, oh, that's going to be fun.Well, to me, this episode sort of launches that funny relationship between you two guys that I think the writers are clearly liking because we keep it going. So you guys are so good together. You know what I mean? You guys both bounce off of each other.Even when the podcast started today, you know, in the beginning with the outfit that you brought. You picked her on.You know what I mean?
27:10I love Ava.I think Ava's so funny. And we got, I love you, John. And they both come from a sketch background, so they have that in their blood, which I think, and you're both great rifers and you're funny folks.Well, I enjoyed following this relationship, knowing that it didn't, that it wasn'tgoing to become anything more than a friendship like, but that's a good, I think that's a good.Well, who knows? We'll see.
27:35But I feel like that's a good. No, I'm not spilling any tea.I just think, like, I agree with you, Donald.Sorry to interrupt you, but I agree that there's no element of flirtation at all, which I like. He's got like, they both have crushers on other people, but she's like, she's helping him in a, in a funny, teasing way, which I find very enjoyable to watch.Totally.And it travels through the whole casual sex thing and all of that stuff. It's just, yeah, she's mean to me at the end.
28:04If you can be mean to your friend, that's how you know your friend. That's not exactly. And it'd be okay.Yeah.So then we cross over.to the Erection Hot Dub debate, which is really a heated discussionabout whether the water displacement
28:17will be an issue. Now, what's up?You want to know the real answer? No.I'm guessing that the writer's roommust have Googled thisand gotten into a hot debate themselves.I mean, but in the show,
28:29this debate gets like stadium size.Well, no, it just moves to the Radisson.Okay, so it gets fucking ballroom size. That's one of the, it's later,That's so funny when Sibby's like, oh, no, no, that's, that had to move to the ratis. That was such a fun scene to film.Is that going to make it?That's the question.
28:50What?Men in their dicks. You know what?We have not been flagged yet for men in their dicks.I think it's going to make it.Oh, shit.Because she improvised that.It was so funny.
28:58I know, and I don't want to jinx it.But I, we have not been, I have not seen an email saying you can't say men in their dicks yet.Okay.Okay, ABC.Okay.Let's go.Yeah, that was a fun scene because it was me, Sarah, Vanessa, and Stephanie. And it was late.
29:17Yeah, and it was like so fun.Oh, my God, the ladies.Let's talk about Stephanie Canig, who has just joined our cast. She is really talented. In the spirit of you guys, very quick on her feet, she's a writer herself.Very natural. And she's so natural. So natural.
29:34You never feel a false moment from her.And she can just keep up with improv and she's never.Well, we crack each other up.Did she know?Oh, this is from another episode, but she's just been so impressive, you know what I mean?Like everybody that we brought in so farhas just really, you know, shined.
29:55I love in this episode the stuff we havewhere J.D. just can't figure out how to hit on her. He's so fumbling it, so bad.Yeah.And the stuff with the raccoons.Again, we have raccoons, raccoons, raccoons.and we were just riffing back and forthand making that so cringe.
30:14And we also have the saxophonistfrom the Lost Boys.Which I loved.Yep.Which I loved.I used to love that.I still believe. Now, Donald...
30:28I don't want to cry.I don't want to...Well, did you know Lost Boys as well as Donald does?Lost Boys is a slightly older canon.I'm familiar with it, but I know the saxophone guy from memes. He's very popular.I wonder if that song's in the Broadway show.I saw the Broadway show.
30:53It seems like they have to. Oh.I saw the Broadway show.I still believe in the Broadway show.I honestly don't remember.I think there is a sexy saxophonist.I don't know if he has a dog collar and wearing that crazy outfit.Walking with the biker shorts.Yeah. Now, this guy, Tim, what's his real name?
31:12Oh, Joelle, will you look that up for me, please? It is Tim something. I'm sorry, we'll correct it.But he brought the dog collar thing that he wore in Lost Boys.Yes.Capello?Yeah, Tim Capello, thank you. He's a famous saxophonist, but I believe his most famous thing of all time was being the saxophonist in Lost Boys. That is, I think that's where everybody, I mean, if you're a real job,
31:36jazz fan.You probably know him otherwise, but...I think he was insomeone else's famous.Joel, can you look it up?He played with a lot of famous artists.I know that. Obviously, he's anincredible saxonist. Rock,
31:51rock saxophone. I bet you he does jazz. I bet youdoes all that. Go ahead, Joel.Timmy is to playin between Billy Crystal's sets.He was also a saxonist for PeterGabriel.Oh.You know Peter
32:06Gabriel is?Yes.Any other.Um,um,mm-hmm.Mm-hmm.Look up for anybody else,
32:15Joe.No.Yeah,that's a song.Okay,he performed on the1993 soundtrackalbum,
32:20What's LoveGot to do with it?Oh,things ex-ofos.I was looking for.I was looking for Tina Turner.I remember there was a famousartist.
32:28It was Tina Turner.Okay,so Jady's really fumblinghitting on Cassie. And,uh,then we cut toTurk who can't wait to trick or treat.
32:38He is so excited. He's made a mapand he circled all the gays.Right, because gays give out the best candy.Right. As we all know.Is that as we all know?I didn't know it was a thing.I'm just going to say, they celebrate Halloween.
32:54Go ahead, Joelle. You know better than that. You're on it. You're facts. The gays just doHalloween better. And I think, too, if you're ina smaller town with notable gays,I grew up in a town with the mayor was gay.and we had music teachers who were gaysand they like,Halloween was a big event.
33:10Like the candy was hitting.I find this movie. The candy was hitting.Yeah.Well, and Michael James Scott agreed, you know.He said that like, yes, the gays go take Halloween very seriously. We can, I can just throw one example into the fire and everybody who agree.Let's just talk parade.
33:31Right.Around Halloween.Right.Yes.That paraded, that West Hollywood parade is one of the.Yes, and in New York City, too.Oh, duh.Yeah.
33:39That shit's just, like, out of control. They go dummy with it.They go dummy with it.They go dummy with it, yeah.So Turk doesn't see the little girl that can't trick-or-treat.Because she's sick in the hospital. And she's bummed, and Carla's like, stop talking about trick-or-treating.But Turk is so excited that he's going to take his daughter trick-or-treating.
34:00He's going to take Nora, his daughter trick-or-treating.And so when he sees the little girl, he doesn't apologize. He just says.Hello.But she does a very cute head shake when Carlos says she thinks it's appropriate. So cute.Do you think it's appropriate to circle all the gays? And she's like, mm-mm.
34:15Don't you do it.That little girl was wonderful, by the way.Yeah, she was great.Yes, what was her name? That's the question.I forgot her name.Okay, well, cut me asking that, Joelle. But she was so talented and adorable.
34:26And we were giving her lines on the day, and she just kept riffing them perfectly.Yeah.She was very talented.Aw.Yeah.Then, all right, so Cox tells Rick, it's very important.important. You have to take the meds for your kidney transplant.Well, we skipped some stuff. Okay. Didn't we? Well, I think I'm going in order, but you go ahead.
34:44I thought we skipped the fact that you don't, Cox doesn't know how to. Oh, no, we didn't.That's coming right now. So Cox tells Rick that he has to take the meds or he's going to mess up his kidney transplant. And Rick is very dismissive and says, you call my wife, all these things. And Cox goes to J.D.and he says, please, how do you deal with this? How do you kiss ass?Like, I don't know how to do it.It's not in my blood, which is so true for Cox and Johnny Cymkinley.I love the way that's written also because the way it's written is Cox goes to you for help, goes to J.D. for help. And he's angry because of the way he was treated, so he immediately throws it on to J.D.
35:26How do you act like someone's little bitch?Yeah.because he's so angryof what just happened to himand so he insults J.D.But J.D. does exactly what Cox can't doand looks at that and tries to findthe heart in it or the
35:45that know that it's coming from love or something like thatand Cox is like that. How the fuck do you do that? That's what I'm talking about right now.I'm not necessarily, I was mad.I called you a bitch.I'm sorry, but how to fuck do you do that?Because I don't have that in me.
36:00Yeah, well, J.D. is saying, hey, I'm going to sing a little song for you in the spirit of Mary Poppins.Oh, my gosh. And this was really fun to do.I haven't done a lot of stunts for Scrubs where I could legitimately die.Yeah.And this one, if things had gone awry, I remember thinking, I do want to make America laugh, but I also don't want to die.Yeah.And I was dangling from 40 feet in the air in a Mary Poppins.
36:30costume literally just hanging there going i mean i'm sure these guys know what they're doing yeahi mean they do it's all the time you were pretty high up yes johnny c was like i would never i waslike that's not helping that's not helping johnny did you ever tip no these we do you know we've beendoing a lot of flying this season and rigging of things um and we always have the same guys and itrust them they really seem like they know what they're doing but it is still fucking scary to be dangling40 feet in the air with solelya cable that's as thin asthat tied to your waist.
37:05But it was really, they did a great job, and I thoughtit was really funny. The songI thought was really cuteand funny. Be the bitch for the rich. And then on the day, we had this ideain the spirit, I think this may have beenyour idea, the 2D... So we had aas you remember,
37:22Mary Poppins, there's all those 2D animatedanimals. And wasit your idea that said we should do a 2D animatedrowdy that comes up?And it tries to sing along. And so we're having that animated. And then I did it on the day just to give us like the idea of it.But then I thought, oh, it would be way funny if it's Michael James Scott.
37:41Right.And then he did it so camp and he's like, rough, rough, rough, rough. So there you go.By the time the audience sees it, you guys haven't seen it with all the VFX done. It'll be it'll be like birds swarming around and leaves.and it'll be really, it'll look really good. It'll great.Very popping ass.
38:03Sidney has,Sibby has been kidnapped in multiple times. Now that's, this is, okay.Go ahead. What's your problem with it?I remember you saying this and I've said this a couple of times, but the 70s and 80s were a different time. And for some reason, I remember being kidnapped too.
38:20I don't, I remember being kidnapped.Yeah, I know. You guys got kidnapped.I get real life.Yeah, man.I have a story in my life that I just don't have, I don't know if you guyshave anything like this in your life where you have absolutely no idea if it really happened or not.I'm literally 50-50 on it. And I wasn't kidnapped. It was a kidnapping attempt.
38:41Oh, shit. I was at, again, I really don't know, honestly. In my mind, I have a very specificmemory of this happening. But at this age, I look back and go, it could have been a dream and Iremember it. My parents don't remember it. But I was at a very short version of it. I was at a friend'shouse, a woman pulled up in a station wagon. She had other kids in the car, and she said, your mom wanted me to come pick you up.And I said, I don't know you.I'm not getting in the car.And I said to the people I was with, I don't know her.
39:11And she eventually gave up and left. And when I went home to my parents, I was like, I told them. And they were like, we didn't tell anybody to come pick you up.Wow.Okay.So my dream, it's definitely a dream. But my dream is that I got kidnapped and they pulled up in a white van and they kept me for a while. And I think, you know, when I saw it, and this is crazy because when you
39:28You see Big, this motherfucker runs away from home and tells his mom pretty much that he's been kidnapped. And she's like, well, wouldn't you bring him home?Wouldn't you bring him home?Like, he calls her, listen, I'm going to bring him home soon.Don't worry.Pretty much in the fucking movie. And in my mind, I was like, that shit feels like that happened to me at one point. Now, I know it didn't.
39:51But I dreamt it at some point that I got pulled in the band.I honestly have no idea of mine really happened or is a dream. It's a very specific, detailed memory.Did your parents remember you coming home and saying that? No, I don't think they have any recall of it, which feels like if it was real, they wouldremember. But I don't know.I don't mean to dwell on it.
40:15It's just so trippy that it's one of the few things in my life that's crazy that I don'thave a definitive answer on.And then Sibby says it.Well, Siby, I don't think this was written that she was kidnapped.I think it was written that she keeps getting him.hit by them. But I think on the daywe were laughing more at the fact that she had beenkidnapped multiple times and it was always vans.
40:32Oh, yeah, yeah, yes. Yes, it's always a van. It's always a van.All right, so the erection debate, we talked about this, it moves to the radisson. Now, this Gumby hair flying off, I laughed out loud. It is so funny. And I was very concerned, because I wasn't there when you guys shot this. And I said to everyone about Craig Zisk directed this, we should say, andMichael Spiller was there, our producing director. And I said, you guys this is not a fantasyit's in the real world
40:56the Gumby has to fly offin a believable wayI was so disappointedI wanted it to fly off like a young FrankensteinI know but thatthat would have been a fantasyand I wanted towe did it on Scrubs before
41:10where Ted saw somethingand his hair went from flatto fucking poofyand then went flat again browe did it beforeall right I hear thatI hear that argumentI just
41:20I mean I laughed at the way it is didn't youI laughed my ass.Okay.So we got to have our cake and eat it too.Yes, absolutely. It falls off, but it falls off in a believable way.I laughed.I laughed at the fact that I'm dressed as Bobby Brown.
41:32Now, this is where I didn't laugh. All right. What's the matter?Fucking John C. McGinley is ripped. He takes his shirt off at one point in his motherfucker and his body is ripped.Y'all let me walk around in a mall fucking jacket.Don't blow out the mic.You looked great.
41:47Thank you so much, Ava.But my fucking sides is hanging over and shit.Like, I do the running man.and I'm coming up and I'm like, damn it, Johnson McGinley.Yeah, but he works his ass off every day.Johnson McGinley, I'm very impressed with how you're able to do that. It's because in Rooster, he's in the sauna a lot and he likes to be ripped. He takes off his shirt and that shit's flat.
42:09But do you know how hard that man works and he doesn't have a sip of alcohol? He doesn't have any sugar. He works out every morning. You could do all that.I don't know. But was that intentional when his, I was like, okay, little peek.at the same timehe's letting him know
42:28oh JohnnyJohnny's gonna be very happythat the ladiesclocked his absI think when hetook that offwhereas most of uswould make sure our shirt
42:37came downJohnny did not mindthat the shirt came upwell he works so hardand if you got itflauntedseriouslyby the way
42:46I had a revelationthis is later in the scriptI guessbut I'll just get to it nowand I don't knowif the writersintended thisYou guys tell me what you think.
42:55When he has had enough of Rick and he takes off the thing, he's taking off the costume. He's taking off his costume from Halloween of being someone he's not.Yes.Did you guys see that or no?Yes.Absolutely, I did.And I was wondering if.Joelle, did you clock that or no?
43:15Not in real time, but I'm seeing it now.Yeah, that makes sense.I remember the hat flip off was so aggressively.I was so done with this shit. He's communicating.a lot in these actions.Yes.I don't know if the writers intended that,
43:27but I thought that that was very, very clever.Yeah.And I want to go back.I'm sorry, yeah, I went. That was to jump ahead.Go ahead. You go.Let's talk about these two,
43:36talking at the end about, not at the end, in the middle, about casual sex.Yes.Ava,you kind of do,when you're saying,I picture you is more of a formal sex.
43:51Formal sex kind of guy.kind of guy. It's not casual, it's formal. And then you go into this formal voice. And then he says, and he says,I want to apologize for being an inquisitive lover.Yeah.But you do it in a formal voice, man.
44:05I apologize for being an inquisitive lover.I laughed. We got it that too.Yeah.But it just shows also that you guys have a great fucking, we said it before. We'll say it again. You guys have a great chemistry. Was the guys first scene together?
44:19Like our first, like, just us, too.Yeah.Yeah.Yeah.You know, you both bring so much to the show, and it's great to have the both of you finally.Yeah, I think they're going to keep writing to it, too, because one thing you'll find on Scrubs
44:32is that when a new relationship,oh, that's funny together, we all start writing to it, you know? And I think that that's clearly a new thing. You two, and I think it's, again, I like that it's not a romantic thing. It's aShe feels like my homieAnd it's likeYeah, it's very much
44:55Turk and JD againBut they're not easy homiesShe's constantly dissing youYeahBut you're not like lusting after herYou've got your eyes set on AmaraYou're clearlyI like that the character of Grant
45:07Is meant to be a very exceptional doctorBut he has absolutelyZero skills with womenI knowIt's a part that I can play wellWhat? You're married, aren't you?Yeah, yeah
45:21You did good.Are you married?Yeah.Oh, big time.I mean, I knew you had a partner.Big time.Big time.How is it?

46:38what they fear, and where they think this is all headed.Silicon Valley is always saying the cliche thing about the way to predict the future is to create it.Well, yeah, it's up to us.But when you say us, who's us?Is it 400 people that you know in Silicon Valley? Is it me down here in New Orleans? They're brilliant, controversial, and they're already shaping the future. The question is, whose imagination do we want to live in?

48:46This season, we risk life and limb to get answers. It seems like maybe we should have brought hazmat suits.Answers to life's biggest questions.Sorry, are you eating something?Yeah. What are you eating? What difference does it make? All the difference.

50:27ever see the end of it.Yeah.Because it used to come outand then there was a coupleit after.I go, if we don't ever showthe end of it,and the audience is mine,
50:35it keeps talking. She's still doing it.Yeah.That was a lot of fun. That's another example of us getting really big. There's no red vine in history that is...Well, they had to have that made.Yeah, that was homemade.
50:49That's not that big.I believe in the world that someone could make a giant red vine.I don't believe that hair flies off when someone's surprised.I can.Oh.Obviously, the thing about scrubs and this was always the case with Bill,is that you set rulesand then of course
51:08you always break thembut you try and havethe brakes be rareyeahdo you know what I meanI understandum by the wayit's so funny
51:17the way your hairfalls off is hilarious to methat shitthat should make me laughyesbecause Nora doesn't wantto trick or treatwith her dad
51:23I get what you're sayingthough Donaldabout itthat would have been hilariousif it just flew off likeyeahthree stooges stylethree stooges
51:31and buckwheatyou remember when buckwheatumthat was yesI do remember thatin eyesand all of that stuffWouldn't Buckwheat's hair like unfolds straight up?
51:40No, all of them, it would happen to all of them, like steam would come out of their ears or, you know what I mean? The hat would fly off or something like that when they got surprised.Do you know what the little rascals are?Yes.But you probably know the modern version.Alfa.Yeah, our gang.Yeah.
51:54Well, back in our day, we would watch the OG black and white ones. They were on TV.It was the little rascals, but they was really our game.I loved it.So did I.I grew up watching that.So did I.All right.
52:06Elliot struggles to explain a write-off to...Let's go back and say what happened. So Elliot comes into the office of Cassie pitching her idea for women's health because Cassie, in the scene that we were talking about earlier with...Sybis.Sibby, Tosh, Elliot, and Cassie, they're all talking about women's right.Women's health care.and sorryyou could hit the
52:39are you still activelyfeeling the marijuanathat you hador did you go re-upin the breakI should haveI should haveI didn't
52:48you don't remember everythinghere we gothank youbecause I forgot namesthank youand ever and everneveryou know
53:00you got the names now girlI said ityou got them all outis there a sceneabout women's rightsand they were talking aboutAnd so now in this scene, it's set up where, thank you, by the way, thank you.Yeah, obviously.
53:14Where Elliot's now in the office because she thinks that Cassie is down with the rest of the ladies. And Cassie is like, when I said nobody cares about women's health, I was actually saying that it doesn't make money for the hospital, therefore nobody cares. And this catches Elliot off guard. And she said, well, it's a great tax write off.And this is where Cassie says, you know, well, explain.tax write-off to me what a tax write-off is. Yeah, and Elevit has a really bizarre way of getting to thewords write-off. Yes. They threw the T right off the boat. And that's, I believe that's wherethe right-term right-off comes from. They're funny, they're funny together, too, playing. Absolutely.
53:52Because Elliot and Cassie, I think, is a new funny combo. But anyway, but this also shows us howevil Cassie is also. This is our first real... Well, evil, I don't think is the word. I think thatwhat we're going to learn is that you might not like her.She doesn't give a fuck. This comes up in the episode we just shot. She's like, she has a line, sorry, spoiler, I guess, where she says, like, I literally don't care.I have my phone on during the whole movie.
54:18I use the flashlight.Like, I don't give a fuck what people think about me.And so she is like, I'm solely here to make this hospital money.I don't really care what anybody thinks about me.But this is the first time that we see that also.Yeah, yeah. This is the turn.Yeah, exactly.
54:33We should also talk about how when J.D. meets Cassie for the first time,I mean, hits on her, not knowing that it's his boss. And then this comes back around and bites.By the way, when I float out at the act break at Mary Poppins again,it wasn't written that I had those little heels on.Yeah, the heels are good. But I thought that would be funny to put the heels back on.That shit was hilarious.
54:52I'm hilarious.Do you click them together? No, that's not a, she doesn't click them, but she does, like, hold them out.Yeah, yeah, that's really.Yeah, that whole run was funny, too.I was, we were cracking up on the day.And don't be afraid to ride me.I mean, ride me.
55:07Not like ride me.Is that going to make the show?Yeah.Okay.We get racy.Oh, wow.The ultra used to get racy.We just have to find our balancing.
55:19But this Halloween episode, there's a lot of raciness in it.We open with freaking brusiness. Then we go, then we go.You know what I mean?Well, so far we haven't been dinged on anything.I think we're allowed to say.We say dicks in it?Like, there's a lot.
55:33They're more lenient on dick than.Dong.Really?And they don't like berries? They don't want to describe your balls? You cannot. We cannot find a term for testicles they will let us use.Like no innuendo that were.
55:47Unless it's medical and you're referring medically to a pair of testicles, you can do that. But if you say my balls, my nuts, none of that.My bag.Nothing.My sack.None of that. We've tried everything. The family jewels.
55:59Nothing.We ended up with berries. And you can say berries. My berries. We ended up cutting it because we were like berries doesn't make sense. My berriesShe kicked me in the berriesIt's so bizarre
56:11It's very hard to findUnderstand the censor guyYeahBecause you're likeI can call you a dickYou called me a pussYeahWe cannot say balls
56:24We cannot say dongDong is crazyLast seasonLast seasonThe Todd wasIn episode twoIs supposed to sayYou should
56:35Well, she goes...You're making real...You're showing real growth, Todd.Well, yeah. And he goes, yeah, well, you should...He's meant to say, well, you should see my dong. They wouldn't let us do that.So we came up with the idea that...
56:48Because there's a marching band in the episode where the...They take over the...But so he goes, duh, he only gets the duh out.Yeah.Anyway, these are the high class problems we've faced in scrubs. Is it one censor?Do you guys know the censor?I don't know if they're...
57:04The network might have multiple people, but I think we deal with one guy.Yeah.And the emails are always hilarious.Like the best. No, don't.At S&L, we had Betsy Torres, who was amazing. She was the censor forever.I don't think she works there anymore.
57:19But she would always suggest other options. And they'd be like way worse.I think we get suggestions from this guy, too. That's so funny.Yeah.But it's contentious.Yeah.Your woman at SNL sounds nice.
57:34Yeah, she was lovely.I feel like I don't deal with this person. But when I see, sometimes I see the emails and I'm like, wow, these are sort of heated.Like, no dick, no balls.Wow.Oh, my God.Wait, when you say she would make words, like, what would she offer then?I don't remember a specific example, but it'd be stuff like instead of pussy, it'd be like, what about like?
57:59Bad.No, no, like worse, like in a new one.Like what, John?I'm trying to, this is not it.So Betsy, if you're watching, I'm sorry, but it would be like, skin slit. You know what? That was my first thought that I had.But it wouldn't be that, but that's like an example would all of a sudden be just out of left field.
58:20Like, what?I'm not ever going to say that ever.Oh, my God.You should try to get away with skin slit, bro.I don't think we'll get skin slit through.I can't say dawn.I mean, yeah.Skin slit is just nasty.
58:32So let's keep a movie.I love you.from you.Eva, I apologize.That was you.Eva, I apologize, you had to hear that.Yeah.I'm sorry.
58:39He was saying it.Joel, sorry.I'm sorry that we had a guest on that would say something like skin slip.Joel laughed really hard and so did Ava.I don't know if they're offended. We're fine. All right. We'll talk about it in the car.
58:50Let's get to the end.We hear the song Teardrop by Jose Gonzalez, which is a beautiful song. And then I really thought it was well done. The rushing to the CPR for the patient as they all get back.to the roots of what they're here to do,which is to save lives in this hospital. And Cox kind of comes back to life.He gets the fire back in his,
59:13in his, he gets his mojo back by saving a life.Sorry, she passes. But he gets his mojo back in, in fighting for people's lives. And he gets livid that this man who's a rich assholeis not protecting the organ that he was, that was donated to him.and that really makes him sort of, as I say, take off the costume of the person he is not
59:40and go back to the amazing person that he is.Yeah.Yeah.That scene was like one of those oneswhere I think I was talking to you guysin Village the other day or whatever of like, this show feels like the actual textbook definition of dromedywhere it's the comedy is hard comedy.
59:58I'm actually laughing. And the dramatic moments, I really feel it.felt like that Avengers Assemble momentwhen Johnny C. runs in and likegets fucking revved up and you know. But it's like this show just doessuch a good job at that of making youtruly feel both things in a real way.
01:00:14Because dromedy now to me is just drama.Right. Most dromedes are that. But this is actually comedy.I like that. Thank you. I like that about the show. I likethat you laugh out loud. And thenthere's almost always, not every episode, but almost alwaysthis really moving moment. BecauseYou know, we always heard from the people who work in hospitals.
01:00:34Like, they love this show because that's the life in the hospital.Totally.It's so intense. And then your belly laughing with your friends because you have to.Yeah.Yeah.And so we try and that's why we try to capture that tone of working there.Yeah.
01:00:50I want to say one thing.Go ahead.I look good with hair. You could wear a beautiful with hair. You could wear.Or you could go to turkey.I had, well, I said, I suggested that to my age.agent and my agent was like for what you're known as this what are you going to do you're going to come
01:01:06back with a swollen noggin and freaking it'll all fall out it would be funny though it would beif you do it for the bit if to go to turkey we'll document the whole thing okay look if i documentdo i need to go to turkey can i go to the america it goes to turkey well turk goes to turkey listenoh my god that's the doctor there you go higgins do you want to produce it done no wait time outtime out why do i got to go to turkey they do it doin America now. Well, it's just muchcheaper in Turkey. That's why people go there. And it's more fun. But I got insurance and I got...
01:01:37For the doc, it's better if you go to Turkey for the name.Yeah, but Turkey is like...The dock's going to be boring. We already found the name.By the way, the dog is boringif it's Turk goes to Beverly Hills.Yeah, you can't go to Beverly Hills. No one wants to watch Turk goes to Burly Hills.
01:01:51How long is the flight to Turkey? What? How long is the flight to Turkey? I just feel likethose guys are always sitting in that airportand their head is on fire.Jewell, can you look up? Is there a direct flight fromLAX to Turkey. There's definitely not.
01:02:03It looks like you can get toIstanbul nonstop, 13 hours, 10 minutes.Oh, great.13 hours. There we go.And we'll get you a live flat.I don't know if you want to put your head down. You're not allowed to.
01:02:16Yeah, you can't.A live flat on the way there.I've seen docs about it.Like, you have to keep your head upright and you, they give you a neck pillow. You can't fucking, then there's saran wrap on your shit. The Brazilian butt lifts, they have to like get whole rows because.because they have to bend downbecause they can't sit on them.
01:02:33Did you have yours done?Yeah, I did.It looks great.I noticed, I didn't know you'd had a done.I noticed that you had a juicy trunk.Yeah, yeah.Yeah, I got it done.And I'm not afraid to say.
01:02:42Good, good for you.Did you do Beverly Hills or Brazil?I did Brazil.Okay, good.I'm going to go Beverly Hills, I think, if we do it.Yeah.We should go Beverly Hills.Of course you're going to get bougie hair.
01:02:51Yeah.It'll be my hair. How's it boogey?Well, Beverly Hills hair.Yeah.All right, let's wrap it up.You coming in as Beetlejuice is hilarious.Shout out to our hair and makeup team.
01:03:02Truly, they did such a good job.It looked awesome. When you shrink with your shouldersbecause you realize everyone's on a costume,it is so funny. It's like a turtle going into a shell.Your body, your physical comedy there is so funny, John. When you just go, thank you.
01:03:17That's what we said on set.I was like, I should shrink after I realize that nobody. But your whole body just like collapses.Yeah.Of embarrassment.Well, it's weird that he goes,I know that the girl that I have a crush onthinks it's cool to wear it.
01:03:30costume so I go, this is what I'mgoing to do. We were talking about how insane thatwould be in real life if somebody went to thatextent. Well, this characterlooks like he hired pros.Pro, yeah. There's definitely a problembad. I mean, we know that we've established that $5,000.Right, yeah, yeah, yeah. We've established that Grant
01:03:46is broke. Yeah. This is what he spent his last. No, but he spendshis money on crazy shit. Yeah, exactly.Turtle. Yeah, he's blown.Well, by the last, I mean, he spentwhatever money he doesn't have.Right. On, on hiringmatch out of credit card.
01:04:01Because this was not doneby him in the mirror. No, not at all. It's too good. It's really good.Showtime.Yeah.I love that you kept the scream in too.
01:04:10Yeah, that was so funny. And then you have a really meandiss to him.Super mean. Was that was a riff or where did that come from?I love that you set.Because at first it was just I say thatand I walk away and it's silent.
01:04:21And then you were like, that's just mean and weird.Oh yeah, that's what we kept it.You're going, that's a really meanand weird thing to say to someone.Yeah.Because when we were rehearsing it, it was just so bald of just like, what? And you said to me, you're like, I'm like, I can't believe you kept that in.That's funny.
01:04:36And I think that was the first time we spoke to because we had filmed that before we did our scene. That was the first thing.Yeah.And so then when I would come up to him and we were looking at each other, we were like, why are we like different people right now?It was like kind of jarring. The magic of filmmaking, that's crazy because I would have thought you guys shot that after because it's so endearing after too, though.even though you're making fun of them.Yeah.
01:04:59And you say, and you clown them and you say, you know, you don't look like you,you definitely don't have casual sex. It's still enduring.I know, it is.It is kind of a brother-sister.Because it's a buddy being making, you know, it's like we do fucking all day long. It's a buddy fucking with each other.A thousand percent.
01:05:19I wanted to say when Turk is dancing in the tag, it is in the exact same spot that he did his famouspoison dance back in the movies. And that is a fan, a mega fan Easter egg.Absolutely. But this time I stick to actual Bobby Brown dances where if you watch thepoison video, they don't do any of the shit that I do on the poison video.Oh, really? That was all you?Yeah, yeah.
01:05:44Damn. Yeah. And did you know that it's the Fortnite default dance?Yeah. They just took the dance from me. Somebody needs a check for that.No. No, don't get people riled up.They get mad at me, them kids.Don't get the internet riled up.Not the internet. Don't get these kids. The little kids get riled up in the time.
01:05:59I don't need that in my life.Yeah.Donald doesn't need control by little kids. Now, wait a second. These dances that you do are some of the moves that Bobby does in the video.Right.So there's two versions of that.So Bobby Brown in the video does a certain dance.
01:06:18But then Bobby Brown on Soul Train did it and it was different. And so I kind of incorporate that.Into both.Into both, yes.And I just want to say lastly that I remember getting a call saying, hey, Michael James Scott called Assam, a showrunner, about something. And, you know, obviously you can't help but go, oh, gosh, I hope Michael's all right.I hope no one's upset about what was.
01:06:46And I go, what about? He said, he wanted to know if it was okay if he was Oprah Winfrey in the Halloween episode.Like 80s Oprah. And we were all like, oh, my God.We will find a way.Yes.And so in the very last moments, we were able to get Michael James Scott as Oprah into the episode. You get a candy.
01:07:06You get a candy. He looked amazing. We have the funniest shots, pictures of Michael and Donald together.I just love that he's Oprah with a goatee.Yeah.I know.Oh yeah, sorry, he's Oprah with a goatee. With the goatee.
01:07:19So good. There's a great picture in the hair and makeup trailer of you, me and Michael.Yes.It's just like, what is the show?Yeah.Well, the other day they came up to me, they're like, are you going to be able to straddle the casket in the rain? And I was like, I love the show.I know.
01:07:34It's like, this is your job.Only on Scrubs would anyone say the sentence, would you be able to straddle the casket in the rain?Yeah. That's 206, everybody.Thank you.John Higgins.Tell people how to follow you on the Instagram.Oh, follow me at John Higgins, J-W-N, because at John J-O-H-H-M was taken.
01:07:51Okay.And if you want to watch you guys perform, it's...Oh, go to please don't destroy.com.Please don't destroy.com.And Ava tell people how to find you.Ava Marie Bun.One N or two?Two ends.
01:08:05Two ends. Also, I don't want to pin Ava out, but she's really good at funny dancing, too.Oh, thank you, John. That reminded me.Wait, can you tell them about the story that happened when we were walking?Yeah. We were walking, we were kind of delirious after set one day, and she busted out a dance move that, I'm not kidding.Maybe seven people turned around and started applauding.
01:08:25What is it?Can you do it?Like it was awesome.Like it was just like this funny like I was like you got to do that on the show. And people were applauding. Can you do like the seated version of it?I don't know.It was not a seated.
01:08:37It's a whole body commitment. But it was awesome and that we're saying that's my dream.Maybe we'll find a place for Tosh to do that on the show. You know, I'm a little disappointed though, Aver.Because you said you were going to put on the costume and we didn't get to the costumes. How about next time you're on the podcast? You should be Gilroy.I have to be Gilroy.
