Episode Date: May 21, 2026Shai Gilgeous Alexander's STATEMENT Game MYSTIFIES Gil's Arena as the Gil's Arena Crew reacts to SGA delivering an MVP Level performance to push the OKC Thunder over the San Antonio Spurs to even up t...he Western Conference Finals and break down how the best player in the world got the best of Victor Wembanyama & The Spurs in Game 2. They also discuss Isaiah Hartenstein stepping up to stymie the French Phenom by defending him with hostility in the paint and give their takes on which secondary players will shape this series as both Jalen Williams and Dylan Harper went down with injury and Stephon Castle continued to suffer ball security issues that would make James Harden cringe. They then react to new reports detailing Victor Wembanyama's offseason training with Shaolin monks and debate if Wemby's unconventional training methods are the secret behind his metoric rise this season as he sits just a few wins away from taking over the NBA. Next, they react to the hostile beef between Jaylen Brown & Stephen A Smith as the Boston Celtics' superstar continued to go after the sports media legend following his exit from the NBA Playoffs and debate which side is the most out of pocket as the battle on their respective airways. Finally, they react to the fallout of the NBA Draft lottery that awarded the Washington Wizards with the top pick in a loaded draft and analyze the NBA's proposed anti-tanking lottery reform as it aims to drastically shift how bad teams are built through the draft. Welcome back to Gills Arena presented by Underdog Woke Woke!
Whoa, whoa!
Glorious Thursday, Memorial Day weekend.
Oh, yeah.
You ready for the turnips and barbecues?
And all those lovely things, how everybody's feeling today?
Yeah, man, chilling.
Took an L, took an L.
We take our L's.
We take our A.
You picked O KC yesterday?
I picked O KC yesterday.
Okay, you got one in the wind column on us?
This side was all thunder, this hour.
Spurs, can you stay in line with you,
with the Spurs pick, so still retaining your top spot.
Regardless.
Irregardless is not a word.
But this is Gilles Aeney presented by Underdog Woo-Woo.
I'm merely a host Josiah Johnson, and represent

We got Mr. B. Brandon Jennings back here with us.
Seated next to him.
We got the man. They call Cemetery Larry NCAA Champion of the World,
Dr. Rashop McCants, Ph.D.
And on this side of the couch, we got the distinguished...
That was easy.
Another one of Kenny Ackis' timeouts.
My bad.
My bet.
On this side of couch, we got former number one pick,
the distinguished gentleman from Oak Cliff, Kenyon Martin.
Yeah.
What's that?
We got some things to chat about.
Here's what's cracking in Gil's Arena today.
SGA came through with an MVP-level performance to help the Thunder,
even the series with the Spurs.
What statement did OKC make with their game to win?
over San Antonio.
Jalen Brown and Stephen A. Smith have an ongoing beef, but is either side taking it too far?
Jaylen said F. Stephen A, Stephen B, and Stephen C.
Just in case there was some confusion.
And the NBA is set to vote on anti-tanking draft lottery reform, but will it really stop teams from trying to tank in the draft?
We will get into it.
But before we get into all that, as always, this show is brought to you by underdog.

Game two of the Western Conference Finals.
Spurs held on to get the double overtime win to steal home court in game one.
Wimby became the youngest player in NBA history with a 40.20 rebound game.
San Antonio snapped OKC's nine-game playoff winning streak while giving them their first loss of this postseason,
improving to five and one this season against the defending champs.
Spurs were without the Aaron Fox for the second straight game as he dealt with an ankle injury.
And the Thunder lost Jalen Williams early in this one.
But after a subpar, game won by his standards, in which he was held to 7 or 23 shooting in 51 minutes of action,
SGA delivered an MVP-level performance in his supporting cast, stepped up when the team needed them most to help the thunder, even the series.
Let's take a look at the highlights, if we can, please.
Game was back and forth in the first quarter.
Both teams going bucket for bucket with no breathing room.
So despite losing Jalen Williams in the first frame as he re-agravated his hamstring.
injury after playing just seven minutes. SGA paced the Thunder with 15 points and five
assists in the first half as his supporting cast and bench filled the void while
Wimby was held to just seven points in the first half. O KC outscored the Spurs 31 to 20
in the second frame. Thanks in large part. It plays like this Caruso and Wimby's Grill
Caruso been balling through two games of this Western Conference finals using
his multi-chamanship experience
and then Stefan Castle did that
to Isaiah Hartenstein
Black on Black Cron.
So OKC outscored the Spurs,
3120 in the second frame, taking
11 point lead to the break. Spurs came out on fire
in the third quarter though, quickly erasing
a 13-point deficit with a 15-2 run
to tie things up, but the Thunder
responded with some big buckets from SGA
in their bench. OKC had seven
players scoring double figures, including
four off the bench. SGA had a
game high 30 points, added nine assists
with just one turnover. He was 12 for 24 from the field.
Chet Humgren added 13 on 5 of 10 shooting.
Isaiah Hardenstein, 10 points and 13 boards, including 8 on the offensive end,
was also big defensively.
Alex Caruso tripped in 17 and 5 assists,
while Jared McCain and Kaysen Wallace both had 12.
After dropping 41 points, 24 boards in game 1, Wimby cooled off with 21.17 rebounds.
He also had 6 assists in 4 blocks.
Stefan Castle scored a team high 25 points along with 8 dimes,
but also had nine turnovers after a franchise playoff record 11 in game one.
Devin Vassell added 22 on 7 to 14 shooting,
and Dylan Harper had 12 before leaving the game in the third quarter,
which would appear to be a right hamstring injury.
The Thunder led by 8 heading to the fourth quarter,
but the Spurs tried to rally.
Harrison Barts hit a big three to cut the deficit to do with a little over nine minutes remaining.
The Thunder responded with an 11-0 run to extend their lead to 13.
Spurs again cut the deficit to four.
five, the little over a minute remaining, but S.J. and Caruso came through with back-to-back
buckets to put the game out of reach. OKC scored 27 points off 21 Spurs' turnovers, and they
were plus 32 in bench points with the bench's 57 points in the game, tying a franchise
record. Spurs first lost by more than five points this postseason after the game the back-to-back
MVP and the alien had this reaction. Honestly speaking, I think we just did a better job of attacking
them. In the first game, I still feel like we got like really good looks. They just didn't go
down. But yeah, we, I guess just got a little bit more comfortable with their type of defense.
Obviously, it's very unique and different from literally every other defense in the league,
so it takes them getting used to. But we're still going to have to keep getting better
throughout this series if we want a chance to win the series. A really good team, really good
defensive team, really good. They check.
all the boxes. So we're going to have to continue to get better. Tonight wasn't good enough to win
a series and we know that. So we'll take the W, but we've got to keep getting better. I have to
trust the scouting. We have to trust it and do all work early. It's a straight effort.
Victor, what would you say is the most frustrating thing about tonight's loss?
I would say it's spending so much energy on catching back up to the score and then let it go away.
When you say it's straight effort, is it that simple or are there some tactical, strategic kind of adjustments you can make?
What I mean is straight effort is like the tactics, we all know it by heart, but it doesn't mean it's easy and we have to work through it.
We heard both sides there reacting to the Thunder's game to win.
Series tied now 1-1, heading to San Antonio for game 3 on Friday.
Mr. B, what are your biggest takeaways from the Thunder's game to win over the Spurs?
Well, this is OKC's ninth straight win after a loss.
So this is shown that they do, you know, they do come back better.
But Harkinstein, I think it was him that took on a challenge against Wemby.
He guarded him about 40-some times straight up, frustrated him.
Some of it was a little dirty, but that's something that, you know, I'm sure they're going to send into the league.
But, you know, it's the playoffs.
And, you know, I think Winby, you know, they got Winby out of his rhythm.
You know, first game he only shot two threes.
This one's seven.
I knew that was going to happen because he hit that big shot in the first game.
So I just know him being young right now.
you know, he's going to still fall in love with it.
So if I'm OKC, I won't winby shooting threes.
I would actually let Wemby shoot because he gets a little comfortable with it.
OKC bench just outscored, you know, the Spurs benched by a lot.
Their turnovers.
You know, Castle, he just, you know, last two games,
20 turnovers in two games.
So that's a lot of turnovers.
He's very talented, very raw, but they're going to have to figure out a way to have somebody else
handle the ball or something because,
with Dillen and Hopper being out in Fox,
you know, who knows what happens now.
But then with OKC, man, you know, their bench,
you know, with J-dub, I don't know,
it's kind of hard to say,
but I think they play a little better without him.
I think the ball moves a little better.
More guys are getting opportunities and shots,
and I think that's what helps them,
because J-dub, he plays in the paint and so does SGA,
so if you're the Spurs, all you gotta do is just pack the paint.
Now with J-dub, and the SGA happen to be able to,
you know, get out of double teams,
Because he's been double team 57 times already.
So this series, without J. Dub, it actually gives everybody else the opportunity to score, and they've been winning.
But with the Spurs, you know, when you're in the painting, you're shooting 56, making 56 points in the paint, you know, you are winning games.
So in this game, you're only 40 points in the paint.
So get to the paint.
Hard time came up big on that front, like you mentioned shutting down Wemby, keeping them out of the paint.
may have been a little dirty, may have not been,
but this is playoff basketball.
But, Shia Let's shift over to you.
You were non-committal in calling a spur sweep very wisely.
Said this is going to be a good series,
but we're your biggest takeaways.
From the Thunder's game to win.
You used a lot of numbers in that little take you just had.
It's kind of impressive.
Mm-hmm.
It's interesting.
Stap man, stat man.
Got to look at the games.
Well, let's look at one.
things that were glaring other than all that shit about OKC.
Let's talk about 27 points off turnovers.
What was it?
14 steals.
I think 11 coming from the bench in that game.
Non-turnovers coming from one player.
Man.
What else?
34 assists coming from OKC based on temporary
that we played, you know, getting the ball out of SGA's hands and knowing that the other
players going to have to play.
And McCain, like I said before, the reason I didn't predict no sweep because I knew
they're going to come out and hit shots.
They're at home too.
So, you know, the shots that they didn't hit the first game, I knew they were going to come
out and hit this game.
Crusoe 17, 12 from McCain, 12 from, what was it?
Wiggins and Wallace?
Yeah.
Wiggins and Wallace?
I think, um.
The biggest thing for me was the defense.
I think we can go and say the turnovers are a big deal.
I think that's something that Castle's going to do because he's young and he plays aggressive.
He tries to make the right play.
It ain't like he's out there doing the shit on purpose.
He's not a point.
But I think at the same time, all of the holding, all of the fouling, all of the fake aggressive plays,
take away from the balance of the game.
The balance of the game of basketball, you go down on one end.
You know, Wemby don't complain.
He's just trying to get office rebounds.
He's trying to do things.
And the disadvantage of being 7.5 ain't his fault.
You know, a Harkinstein got to do it he got to do
to try to take him out of the game.
But playing the dirty game and doing the little shit that they're doing out there,
it's irritating.
Especially as a fan, you're watching it.
You're like, God damn, it's just fast.
Every single play holding them, valling them, holding them,
holding them, fouling them.
And then you go down on the other end and you can't sneeze on.
This guy is falling every time he shoots the ball for no reason.
Falling on the floor.
So it's like at some point for us, we have to change our game plan based on one not turning
the ball over, two get good shots, but also trying to find a way to get winby the ball.
Because if he's only taking seven threes based on the fact that if I go down there,
and I try to play the game that I want to play
and they're not giving me fouls.
That's a turnover.
That's literally a turnover.
Bad shot turnover.
So he feels like he got a better chance of hitting a three
than going down there losing the ball
with aggressive defense that they're not calling.
But at the end of the day, there's no excuses we lost.
And we're going to take our Ls.
We're going to go back to the crib.
We're going to figure it out.
Hopefully we get Fox back.
I think we did have a chance to get Harper back.
But they told them not to come back.
So at this point, Castle got to look itself in the mirror.
I think Wembe has to also look itself in the mirror and hold himself and everybody else accountable.
Mitch Johnson got to do a better job of checking the team.
When they're turning the ball over at that rate, Castle had five turnovers in the first
fucking nine minutes maybe.
And it was just a lot of erratic shit, just like reaching in, dribbling too much.
Both him and Harper, young guys that just, you know, they're just excited about the moment.
But to lose the game, well, we were down five with a minute left.
I feel good about that.
I feel good about that because SGA did what he was supposed to do put the game out of reach.
Great shot.
Good defense.
But if, you know, he missed that shot, we got a chance.
Ultimately, okay, so he did exactly what I knew they could do.
but I want everybody to really pay attention to what SGA said at the end of the game.
We're going to talk about it, about Harkistan.
Not only about Harkistan, but what he said at the pro, what you just showed.
He knew.
He knew that game was up in the air.
He knew that they barely got that game and they got to play better if they want to solidify,
not having the refs on their side to solidify that.
And I think I respect him a little bit more.
for knowing that. Even if we're going to show the other side of it, I respect that side to him,
knowing Harkinstein did do a good fucking job tonight.
I mean, S.J. said those post-game comments, not enough to win the series. The complaints
about the Thunder's physicality and the foul baiting on the underside has been made by
a lot of people throughout the season, postseason, the Lakers series. I think that was a big complaint
from Lakers fans, but it is what it is. That's how they play. Remind me of the Legion
of Boom.
Seattle Seahawks back in the day.
You're not going to call it.
Hey, we're going to be a penalty every play, but you're not going to call it.
So it is what it is, and that's just how it goes.
But let's shift over to you, Kenya.
What are your biggest takeaway from the Thunder getting this game two win over the Spurs?
It was a must win for them, and they came out with the energy like it was a must win.
They bench played very well, four guys off the bench with double figures.
That's huge.
Seven guys in double figures overall.
That's a winning.
recipe.
Not just the castle with the turnovers early, it's other guys with turnovers late.
Thule the ball out of bounds right in front of the Thunder bench.
Like timely possession turnovers are killers and that's what they had.
The ones early, the Castle was trying to be aggressive.
Okay, you had five early, that's one thing.
You're trying to be aggressive, trying to make plays.
The Thunder do an excellent job at getting deflections.
and steel, so that's expected.
But we'll be throwing the ball in the back court late.
It's those turnovers where you're trying to make a comeback that kills you.
They're young, of course, but you can't keep using the excuse that you're young in the Western
Conference Finals.
We'll let you be young after the fact, but right now it's time to grow up and those
turnovers are killing y'all, especially coming from Castle.
So you can't have 20 turnovers in two games, man.
Teams don't have 20 turnovers in two games, right?
So that's, that needs to be addressed and it needs to be, it's a red flag with it, right?
We cannot turn the ball over like this and expect a win, especially on the road.
But it was a good game and to SGA point, the guys that, like you just stated,
they didn't feel that they played their best game, right?
And they still got it, but they know they have to play better.
Because this is a really good team.
Hopefully they get Fox back.
Don't know Dylan Harper's availability moving forward.
Hopefully he can go.
It's unfortunate.
Jalen Williams re-agravated his hamstring again.
We don't know what that timeline is.
But it seemed rushed.
I came out with the adrenaline and everything in game one, played well.
But, you know, it's a lot, man.
This time of year, it's very strenuous on your body, right?
You are playing harder than you think you
He realized how he played last year
We have to play even harder this year to repeat
Against a better basketball team
So it's unfortunate that he got hurt again
But the thunder did what they had to do
In order to get a game
And the notion of
After you have your two home games
Should we want to go there and get one?
Like that's why not go get both
Why not have the mentality?
We're going down there to get both, right?
We're going down there to get both.
I'm pretty sure San Antonio thought that they were, they weren't going to Oklahoma City
say we want to split.
So for that to be said and the thing, yeah, no, you're going to get both, but you got to start
with the first one.
It's going to be a tall task, we know that.
San Antonio will play well at home.
Yeah, San Antonio will play well at home.
We know they're going to use that crowd, the energy and all that.
So it's going to be jumping in there.
But Oklahoma City is battle tested.
We know that.
Defending champions, been in hostile environments before, have won big role games before.
So yeah, it's going to test them.
And I think they are up for the challenge, realizing that they are up against a worthy opponent in the Spurs.
And with the Hardinstein thing, like, hey, you got to do what you got to do, man.
Like, I get it.
Like, I get it.
No, I'm saying, you got to do what you got to do.
really good, right? You just can't keep playing him straight up, right? So he took on the
challenge, he took the challenge on, and he stepped up to the challenge. And however he need to
get it done, he is in the mindset they ain't going to call them all. And the only thing I think
was the egregious shit, whether it was intentional or not, was the, yeah, the Stefan Castle
when he got his hair pulled. Yeah, that's, yeah, but the other than that, anything he's doing,
Anything he's doing to Wemby at this point because the way the game won Wimby had,
they all heard it and they watch film and he got to make it ugly.
So he got to, I can't match up with you his skill.
So I got to make it ugly.
I got to muck it up.
So that's what he did, right?
So his mindset and to his, the way he played, they didn't call him all.
So he's going to come out and play that way again until they start blowing the whistle
every time he do it, he's going to keep doing it.
So to his credit, he stepped up to the challenge.
And, like, I got it.
You can go play basketball.
I got it.
So shout out them.
Fuck them all.
I'm not rolling because Tony Brothers helped that cause.
Also known as Tony Others.
I feel like if you got six foul and you out there doing what you're doing,
to what you're saying, to your credit, what you're saying,
we got to do what we got to do
right to win and we know
that right so let's just say they're in the ballroom
talking about the game playing and Caruso's
like listen ain't no way
me and Lou can guard
him with the offensive rebound capability
I consider
Harkinstein like a Reggie Evans
he knows how to take you out of the game
simply by just boxing you out
face guarding you making sure you don't
get that offensive rebound
staying attached to you at all times
there's a way that it's done
where you don't get fouls
and there's a way where the reps
at least let you play
and I feel like
they wasn't... Oh no, the shit he was doing
was a grief. Shit he was doing was different.
Absolutely. But I get
the understanding of saying
we need a seven foot caruso
to guard him now. Yes, and that's what
he did. But what didn't happen
is what you challenged Chet for.
Yeah. Yeah, he's not. Put your big boy
pants on to go guard that man. He started
on him. He started, but that's the matchup, right?
That's the day, that's the matchup, right?
So if I'm sending Tony, y'all, I'm putting Luke Cornynett in there.
And, ah, no.
With Wimby.
Dude.
Because Luke is the only one that could do the shit that Karkistan is doing to him.
We need a counterbalancing.
Well, you got two more guys over there.
Let me ask you a question.
Luke is not a rim protector, right?
No.
It, maybe I'm...
He can block shots, though.
Can...
Who's a better shot blocking?
Him or Bismack Beyond?
Bismack, right?
Bismatck, right?
He ain't got...
I'm just saying energy, though, right?
He ain't got the fortitude.
Okay.
You know what I'm saying?
He's the guy that go out there, foul, they are...
Don't make some problem, though.
Thole big plumbly out there.
He'll hold and grab that motherfucker.
He would.
He would.
He got to, he'll use him and our stock and mix that shit up together.
They, hey.
Yeah.
But it's the, if you think about the flow,
Harkinstein got more of a flow of it, too.
That's not.
Yes.
Yes.
Yes, I'm just thinking of, yes, to match what he's doing.
Absolutely.
All that's down.
All that shit.
You didn't got three pounds running up and down.
All that shit.
And Hardinstein had, what, nine offensive rebounds, I believe?
I think eight or nine offensive rebounds.
I think he had eight or nine offensive rebounds.
And that comes from Wemby Roman, right, taking his body off him going to help
and they put him in situations where what he had with them too late, two or three big,
three late offensive rebounds.
But when we don't box out.
He don't box out.
He's just going.
I'm tall than you, but that motherfucker bouncing, Hartstein going.
He's tracking that bitch down and-
He's holding that on him and he's doing all that.
Kevin Lutz.
You gotta keep a body on the body to your point,
like throwing somebody else in there that can keep a body on the body.
And that way it forces Chet to Chet and Wimby matchup.
Didn't they keep Chet out the game late in the fourth?
It forces that matchup.
You put another beat.
Four minutes, five minutes ago, they didn't put Chet back in the game.
They literally were closed.
Hardin's, because, because, I don't know me because, because,
Because Cornett, if he go to the glass,
check, gonna have a hell of a time
trying to keep him off a glass.
I mean, you don't have that.
But, I mean, shit, going into game three,
if Dylan Harper and D. Fox ain't available,
this is, this is, I mean.
Got Deerrin Fox on the spur side that's been.
Like, you know what I'm saying?
What's a boy name, McLaughlin?
Yeah.
McGlinson?
You need to put him in the game to get the ball off.
I like to.
You need to put him in the game
to get the ball out of the castle.
And he hit two big shots.
He hit two big shots.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
I like him enough to get put him in the game.
But who he guarding, but who he guarding coming back down though.
McCain?
Or of Wallace?
Wallace, he can guard one of them over there.
He can guard one of them.
Yeah, that's what he was doing.
Yeah, I wasn't putting him on AJ Mitchell because he's tall in it.
And I'm not putting him right in pick and roll then.
No, we're doubling.
We're jumping.
We're already jumping it.
We're already good.
Because Shago's shoe right over him.
So we just jumping.
Okay.
But I like the ball in his hand to get the ball because he's a real point guard.
Yes, yes.
Understand pressure.
Understand how to break the press,
how to not turn that bitch over in the back court
and get the ball to where it need to be.
Shooting when you open?
Yep.
Yeah, he takes us in.
We need you to get us in offense
because Castle is out this bitch
turned this bitch at an alarming rate.
Yeah, well, they're going to have to do something.
I got two questions.
One, S.
S.J. got five fouls
why we ain't hunting them
because it's the guy
that if he's out of the game
and I don't think they're going to call it though
so if he out of the game
there got to be something violent
second question
why are they not running
any like
back screens for Wemby
going into the post
why they not running no flexes
why they not running no
no fucking UCLA
like all the simple shit
that
And I don't want to get too much into the old way of ball, but this something simple.
This something simple NBA playoff shit.
Yeah.
Hold on.
It's none of that.
I got one for you.
So I know one of their assistants.
I text him.
I meant to tell you.
I meant to tell you this.
I text him after we talked about it, right, the spin lob.
I was like, you know, you need to work.
You need to have y'all work on the spin lob in Wemby.
His response was who's going to pass it.
That's why I said.
I told you he had no point going through it.
He said, who's going to pass it?
I said, so can't nobody over there doing it?
Like, can't nobody throw a spin-law pass?
No, not like that.
No, not like that. That's a...
He, like, then his exact words was,
where if you can go get J.K. and Andre Miller for me out of retirement,
then we'll be a high.
But, so y'all can't work on it?
Like, he said it worked.
He spent a couple times looking for it.
Yeah, but the thing, like, that happened in the summertime.
You can't, I mean, during the season, like, that's a, that's like an office.
But you have with me for three seasons now, though.
I'm just saying.
At a certain point, like, we know how they playing defense against you.
Right, and so who's been their point guard for the last three seasons?
But my, that's my point with the Spurs, though.
Like, I would think it's not that, like, hard of a, I used to throw the fucking lob to spin lob to mellow, and I play fucking power full.
Absolutely, from the elbow.
So, I'm saying, like.
But that's IQ, but look at the offense you're running.
Look at the sets that you're in and things like that.
But it ain't even really, you can't even say.
These guys aren't in those type of sets now.
They're coming down, you know, one guard, come up, pick and roll.
Like, we had sets and things.
So where it made sense, hey, Kenyon, this is here, if this here, you got this option.
They don't have that.
But they know what you're saying.
Come down in.
Mm-hmm.
I dig it.
What you're saying is the IQ side, but then it's just the conversation communication side between
Kenyon and Mello.
Hey, look, Melo.
It's the teacher.
With him, you can throw a bad pass today.
Yeah, you can throw a bad pass.
He's 7-5.
Like, you ain't got to be perfect.
He fronting me.
I'm about to spin off.
If they keep, B.
Where's that play?
B.
B. B.
B.
if they keep playing me this way, I'm gonna spin out, just throw it up there.
Yeah, they don't got that.
But where's the play?
Like, that's what I'm saying?
Where's the setup to even get that motion?
They're not posting him up like that.
I'm not waiting.
But the fact that somebody that's on their staff is like, who's going to throw it?
So that's what I'm saying.
So think about what the IQ is on this.
If they can't think about a spin lob, come on, man.
Like, you could be at the right here.
If you can't do that, then what, I mean, what?
Because they throw it up any other time.
We got to keep it.
We got to keep it basic as hell.
It's Ms. Johnson still playing a,
a guard centric system
where they're doing flares
they're doing the splits
and the dribble handoff they run the pistol
they run the pistol they run the old school pistol
guard to guard baseline
back screen on the back side for the three
they turned it over twice they got two shots
off of it twice but they're not running no post to post
they're not running no back screen and Wembe
so then you get the point guard right
if you go if you you in Kenyon
plan right you come down
you set the back screen on Kenyon to go
to the block and if they switch.
And they can't because they can't switch, right?
So if you set a good screen, he got to fight through it and then you got the three-pointer
coming up.
That's an automatic shot.
Set the flare for you coming off so they got to play it on.
They got to play or they got a jump switch from the corner which leads Vesel and one of them
wide open.
It's options that I'm not seeing they take advantage of based on.
And wasn't any of a make shots yesterday either.
But what's their offense?
Yeah, you're right.
The offense is just out there like a, it's not the Princeton.
Or like.
To his point,
To his point, to his point, it's a guard-centered,
centric offense, right?
And you, you got to implement some plays
because you have a, you have a big, right?
Got a big ass set like Orlando with,
with Dwight?
Not even, because the white would go down there.
Winby not, they not, they have him flaring.
But it's one end, four out, right?
The pick and roll, when they do the little pick and roll.
But what they're doing the OKC is they coming all the way across,
tagging him, making them pass it on the,
and they're closing out.
So that's how you're supposed to guard it.
But you can't just do pick and roll
and just depend on throwing it up to Wemby.
No facts.
And remember what they was doing.
They was pushing his ass out
and they was boxing them out,
doing all that other shit.
So you better play him
because you let him catch the ball
where he wanted to be a issue.
They got to change it up, man.
It was a frustrating game to watch.
But it's good for entertainment
to get 1-1 going into it.
So you talk about the Spurs 4-1
against the Thunder in the regular season.
I think we're in control
for game one,
but we're still a win.
M-B logo 3 away from losing that game.
Thanks.
And potentially being down 0-2, now going back to San Antonio.
Obviously got that win.
Thunder, backs against the wall.
You know, this felt like a very important for getting them game.
They're not trying to go down 02 going to San Antonio.
But which side should have the confidence now,
especially with San Antonio, potentially getting Deere and Fox back,
which should alleviate some of those turnovers.
But now the Thunder being without Jalen Williams,
which they were without them for a large part of the season,
but that's a big loss on their side too.
Mitchell might not be out.
Mitchell might be out too.
I think he got hurt in the end.
So you're looking at Mitchell,
Harper.
Hopefully,
I think Fox will play back.
I think Fox is going to come back.
I don't think,
unless it was one of them high ankle sprains,
it's hard to get back from him.
I feel like after they won game one,
like, hey, we can rest you a little bit.
Oh, you're playing with House Money,
so now you get ready for game three,
so I think it was smart.
Yeah.
Like, if you didn't play game one,
I'm saying,
as much as shit as I talked about you,
not playing the game in the Erksman,
you're playing the next one.
We were playing with House money.
We would love for you to come back, but if we can get you another two, two, two, two, two, three days of rest, I can get with that one.
It reverse the NB situation, right?
Yeah.
B played one, sat out two.
Shouldn't have played one.
You lost one anyway, so.
Yeah, got smacked the game one, but they won it.
I think Harper plays the next game too.
I think like what you just said, we could potentially be down two oh right now based on how it all turned out.
But also, we were out one guy, half of the game, we were out another guy.
And, you know, essentially these are guys that we need for this guy and their guys.
We depend on that guy.
Yeah, we depend on.
Because he's out we need Dylan Harper.
Right?
You see what he was doing in the first quarter against Lou Dort.
Like, Lou Dord is a fucking linebacker.
He out there bullying that man, laying him up.
So we need that scoring.
You don't have that.
If he's out, who the fuck going to give that?
Yeah, but your question, I think San Antonio has the confidence going back home.
Sure.
Right?
Winning game one.
not getting smacked in game two.
Good game in game too.
We're without two of our guys,
potentially get both our guys back
and especially one guy that could alleviate
some of our turnover problems.
Yeah, I think San Antonio is going
because
She understand that they got to play.
His statements after the game said they understand
like this team is
they want to beat us.
And we got to be on our A plus game
in order to and we
know, we understand we didn't play that and we have to, we're going to have to play as close
to those games as we can down in San Antonio.
Reps can't save us at San Antonio either.
So I'm thinking that's what they're thinking.
Like, we had favor based on a lot of things go our way.
But this time, I'm thinking, Michigan got to be sending footage in, got to be like, come
on, man, like, we got a hole here, we got a hole here.
A lot of shit's happening that y'all need to clean up.
Even though none of those things are excuses, but just to see it as a feel.
fan and watch it and be like, yo, like, ain't no way they're going to be doing this in San Antonio.
Ain't no way.
So the fact that Wimby should be side relief, like, all right, at least we're going home
and I know I'm going to get some calls so I can play a little bit more free.
But I think he was reluctant to even make drives.
He had the ball on the wing one time against Harkinstein.
He was about to go and he just passed that bitch.
He was like, man, you know what?
He's not about to hack the fuck the fuck out of me, man.
I can't have that mentality.
No, he can't.
You can't.
I'm thinking you still got to drive in regard it.
He's kind of man, got to put the, you got to put the...
He's young, he's 22, so he's just like, man, you know what?
Go ahead.
One of y'all take it.
And with the holding and the grabbing and the nun calls and all that, like,
I shouldn't have to challenge a play and lose my fucking challenge
because y'all are not doing y'all a job.
For that foul.
That's, like certain things like that, man.
Like, all right now, man.
I got a challenge of play.
It's obvious.
If we're watching this shit and we all looking at the game
and we can see it from the two
like this motherfucker had been holding the whole
that whole possession he was holding him
and I have to use a challenge now
now I'm without a challenge for the rest of the game
because I had the challenge one earlier that y'all got wrong
that was obvious for his foul
and then I got another one
like
like it's
so with that
are the other referees
watching the games and being like
got to clean it up
I got to clean that up.
So that's my thing.
I mean, or, you know, I mean, I got OKC.
Game three?
Yeah, I got OKC with the confidence.
Oh, with the confidence.
With the confidence and just going in, I think they have more depth.
Plus, if Harper and Fox is out, they got McCain coming off the bench, even if you do lose J. Dub and A.J.
And then you got the unethical hooper.
Who is the unethical hooper, Mr. B?
Caroline, can you, can you please give it to me?
You know, when you have a guy like this, you know, that you can't touch.
Mr. B's words.
You know, unethical hoops, you know, by underdog, it just dropped.
It's a game that, you know, I think you need to have.
Me?
I need to have it?
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
So you know what it is?
So, you know, you take it out.
This is pretty amazing people.
You know, you turn it on and, you know, this is what happens when you touch them.
Oh, yeah.
You know, so.
Flop, flop.
You gotta show the people what it is, though.
You gotta show them who it is.
You know, this is SGA, it's only 100 million right now.
Make sure y'all get it.
Unethical hoop.
Can't touch it.
Don't touch it.
But you got the first one.
I want you to have this.
Let me see if I can.
Go ahead.
Don't be careful.
I gotta be careful.
Can't touch it?
Hold on.
Let me go ahead and get this motherfucker right.
Ah!
There you go.
There you go.
I'm all to play without foul.
You gotta play without foul.
You gotta play without foul.
You gotta play without foul.
Boy, come on, man.
I'll be playing that game all the time.
Baby don't touch me.
100, man, right now.
That's fire.
That's fire.
Put it up so that people can see it.
Yeah, that's fire.
Who is the player on the box with SG?
Man, that's crazy.
You look like KJ Martin, but I don't know.
That's what I feel like K.J.
Stop hacking, man.
You are hacking.
Again, we do not support this game, SGA.
Shout out Vaughn Alexander as well.
Alexander as well.
Yeah.
Boom.
Get the boom.
No booming.
But let's talk about,
game three.
Let's talk about the game two.
But what does it say?
Don't get baited.
Steal the ball without.
Without getting a whistle.
Without getting a whistle.
That's great.
Let's talk about the game.
He did a lot of baiting last night.
A lot of falling.
Manipulating the game to your advantage.
Taylor's oldest time.
That's crazy though, man.
When somebody, but when you see it like in uniscence,
like a compilation, like when you see it like back, like,
like,
Like, dude, like, you really trying to get them to blow this motherfuck
whistle.
You really falling on the ground a lot, my boy.
A whole lot, man.
Shit.
We get it.
Yeah, we need to start counting out.
Hey, that's what we need.
We need a fall tracker.
Man, get that counter on.
Between him and, so we need to put, so Joel out of it, right?
But Carl Anthony Towns is in that motherfucker conversation too.
For sure.
Absolutely.
Brunson flop, but he don't fall.
Falling.
On the ground, actually, your ass touching the floor.
After all that.
Right?
We definitely need a fall counter.
Well, let's talk about the game two Wimby stopper.
Just game two, no telling you, this will be a long-term situation.
So Isaiah Hardinstein played just 12 minutes game one.
Wimby had his way with the Thunder defense.
It came up big defensively in game two.
Our heart was the final defender on Wimby on 47 plays in game two.
Wimby's paint scoring dropped from 26 points in game one to just 10 in game two.
In his on-court interview after the win,
SGA offered an interesting response
when asked about Hardinstein's defensive impact.
You all made a pivot defensively,
Hart on Wembe.
What kind of impact did Isaiah have tonight?
I'm not sure if it was good, to be honest.
Yeah.
Break that down for me.
Say again?
Break that down for me.
Why was his impact not good?
It was all right.
It was good.
It was good.
So we heard that on court.
Shay later clarified his encore comments about I heart during his post-game interview.
He's changed our dynamic since the first game he's played.
He's our physicality.
He's our backbone.
He's our bruiser.
Set screens, rebounds for us.
He's physical.
He also obviously is very skilled like a pass, playing in the pocket, makes the next play.
He helps us a lot out there.
We saw his effectiveness tonight for sure.
on a very high stage, very high stakes in this game.
Shay, your answer on Hart in the post-game interview on the court was different than the one in here.
Can you just kind of explain what was going on there?
I didn't really hear her.
And then once I realized what she said, I gave her the right answer.
Yeah, at first I didn't, I heard it wrong what she said.
So made comments on the court, then had the remix to ignition.
Yes, he did.
His post-game comment.
Yes, got the R-Col.
I'm fresh out the kid.
you got to.
But, when you look at Isaiah Hartinstein,
what he was able to do defensively
against Winby in game two?
How impressed were you by Iheart's
defensive performance?
All right, man.
Somebody had to step up to the challenge.
You couldn't give up 41 and 24.
And again,
we thought it was going to have to
have to lean on CHIP because Isaiah
didn't play number 12 minutes in the first game.
But it was,
he spent 47 possessions on him.
So it didn't hurt
to have him on him.
He's not looking to score.
He scores when opportunities present themselves.
But he did what he had to do, man.
He understands that it's a tough matchup.
Winbiz's a star in this league.
He gets a lot of calls.
He's going to get a lot of touches.
So how can I affect him?
And whatever I have to do in order to put my mark on this game,
that's what I said.
He went out there and competed at a high level.
Offensive rebound, made some huge pass
like he always does, but he competed.
So like I said,
it was some of it, I'm like, damn, big fella,
but I get it.
That's what he had to do in order to help his team
in order to try to achieve a W.
And there's going to be more needed of that
throughout the series.
It was going to be a long series.
And he played as if they can't call them all.
So his effort was A-plus.
He did what he had to do in order to compete.
So that's what you gotta do, man.
When the guys that good, the playing fields are not even, and he understands that.
So how can I even as, get it to, as even as I possibly can go in my favor?
And it's what I have to do.
So.
I ain't gonna cheat you, I'm gonna beat you.
Hey.
So, Shal, what are your thoughts on, I heart's defense on Victor Wimmyniamma, also known as Wamba-Wamba.
I don't call it defense.
Can't call a defense.
You can call it a tactic.
You know, he had great tactics.
But defense, you can't call it that.
Especially when it comes down to the rebounding and offensive capabilities Wemby had throughout the game.
Second, you know, put it up, put it back up, things like that.
I think he did a great job rotating back to Wemby in situations of the pick and roll,
making sure he got back to him on rotations.
I think he did a great job getting position on Wemby under the basket because Wimby don't box out and being able to move him out the way to get the offensive rebounds a couple of times.
He did do it.
But it was a desperate adjustment that they needed to just try anything to avoid going down to O.
And I think for it to pan out for them, you can try to give them credit, but I don't think it's going to work in the long term.
the long term and I think they did it too early
I think they they showed their hand too early
because now they don't got nothing else that they can do
other than that and if we can get him in foul trouble early
get him off the floor
break Chet's wheel like we've done in every game that we play
and frustrate SGA
because I think he's frustrated I can tell in that press conference
he's frustrated with how the team is responding
to
the way that San Antonio is playing against them.
It's like they got their number and he don't understand why.
He don't understand.
Like, I know I can get my shit off against them, but damn, like, what's really going on with the rest of us?
Why are they responding this way?
Caruso probably the only other player that really respond, like, it's just another team.
You know, let's play hard.
Let's play smart.
And even Caruso knows that a lot of those shots that he's getting is based on.
the strategy that we're putting on them.
And if we change anything,
he can be taken out of the game in any
given moment. So
it's a game of circumstance
right now for OKC.
They don't look like they actually
have a plan to win.
They look like they're just winning by
way of our mistakes.
We blew that game last night.
I don't think they won the game.
I don't think they took the game. I think we
gave them that shit.
And we correct our
mistakes, we win that game. Even in game one, we win the game by more. If we do the things
like not have 11-11 turnovers by Castle in game one, don't have nine turnovers in game two.
It's a different game. But if it was a fifth, we'd be drunk as fuck. So I ain't no if it's,
it is what it is. We just got to come back and do something different. But Harkestine is a non-factor
for sure. We're not fucking worried about it. So this is a game too fixed. This is not a long time.
We're not tripping on him.
Fixing this series.
Mr. B, agree or disagree with that sentiment?
Man, back to Kenyon's point, man, when you're planning for a championship, you're in the Western
Conference Finals, you got to find somebody that wants to take on the challenge.
He was looking for Chet, and Hargastine came in, and he was just aggressive.
First game, Wimby, he had his way.
He was able to get into the paint.
He was able to do whatever he wanted.
Yes.
And then, you know, game two, you know, it was difficult.
They were more physical winning.
OKC, they are, you know, they have one nine straight when they do lose,
so that means they do make adjustments and things like that.
But, I mean, far as, you know, their bench is outscoring the Spurs.
McCain, he's playing unbelievable.
And I think if he just stays, like King said,
if he just tries to just equal it or just tries to, you know,
just make it competitive as much as you can and be physical,
I think they'll be fine.
You know, regular season is regular season.
I mean, but this is the, you know, this is for it all.
So, intensities are going up.
You know, this team has never been there before.
So OKC does still have the upper hand over them.
So it just depends on, you know, how they come out in game three.
Yeah, it's borderline dirty.
You don't want to go dirty.
You want to compete.
You don't want to go dirty.
I go back to what we told Dante about Kobe, right?
we and this fool went and pushed him in his back like no we didn't tell you to do that right right right right
but do you not to do that no we didn't tell you not to but we didn't want you to go 30 we didn't want you to
then that was like we don't want you to do that right right no cause so now yeah you know now now yeah so it's that
right so there's a there's a fine line in that but another thing like just strategy wise right
the zone that san antonio implemented and that double team we talked about yesterday at how
just running, I can see you coming at me and I just run two guys at you.
All he does is back up, back up to get you further, the two guys further away from the
basket, throw it right in the middle to Caruso or Hartinstein.
They're not, they're going to make plays.
That doesn't work against this team.
That zone and you double team and shan in the middle of the floor doesn't work against
OKC.
It's not going to work.
So I just think it's bad.
Like, that that's, I see you run.
running at me. It's not a surprise to it. And they're getting everything out of it that they
want. They're getting the lob to chet. They get the caruso through the lob to chat.
That was the zone they played. Yeah, yeah, I'm saying. But it's the same thing. You let him get in
so you got two guys. He's backing up. You're still coming up. He threw the ball right in the middle
of the floor. He got the lob to chat. He got the baseline past the mid-J. Mitchell on the
baseline with the little reverse. They got everything they wanted out of it. They just missed a few shots
as well. But yeah, you got
it has to be a surprise. It has to be
I can't see you running at me.
He's a really good basketball
players, a smart basketball player and that's not
going to work.
Let's talk about
the Spurs ball security issues
briefly before we move on.
The Fodcastman holding it down as the primary ball handler
with the Aaron Fox sideline. His responsibility
is increased in game two. Obviously
after Dylan Harper left the game in way through
the third quarter. Castle, we'll talk about the good
first 21 points, nearly 10 assists per
game through these first two games, but also has 20 turnovers, most by a player in a two
game span in NBA playoff history. Spurs are averaging 22 turnovers per game so far in this
season, minus 28 and points off turnovers in quickly. Safon Castle, 20 turnovers through two games
and this series had 16 total turnovers in six games against the Timberwolves. So if you're the
Spurs, are you looking at that in a positive light? Like, hey, if we can just neutralize this,
shut this down, we should be able to get wins in the series, or are you starting to get a little
concern?
Oh, no, it's a big concern, because he's not a one or two.
He should play a three.
And he has a, his decision making is very low, as we see.
So it's very concerning.
And going into the game three, if he's going to be your main point guard, then I can see OKC
beating a ass.
So that's just what is.
Great defender.
Plays very hard, but sometimes you're killing us.
Well, I mean...
Like you say, you're just...
You're killing us.
It ain't hard, but you're killing us.
Considering that, you know, we're going to bring film sessions back, brought to you by underdog,
and we're going to actually break this shit down and show you play by play.
Why Stefan Castle's turnovers aren't as big a deal as it looked, simply because he has to understand that a guy like Casein Wallace is counting his dribbles when he doesn't.
brings the ball up. He's watching him. He has his timing. He's playing with the ball.
It's like playing with your food. Stop playing with your food. If you're going to go buy him, go buy
him. If we're setting the offense up, all right, that's one thing. The bright spot about
Stefan Castle is he can pass the ball. He does make the right plays. Ten assists, did you say?
19 assists when he's 20 turnovers in these two games.
So when you talk about what he's done productive-wise throughout the season, passing the ball
and being able to be the guy that Deion Fox is not,
when you talk about facilitating and allowing him to be a score,
he can do that.
But when you give him the spotlight on bringing it up
and handling the ball and making the plays,
it's a lot of those things when you've got a defensive team like this
that's going to foul you.
They're going, like he's trying to do the James Harden swipe through
and all that shit.
If you don't get the call, it's a turnover, bro.
And he's looking for the call.
and they're not giving it to him.
So those are the little turnovers that he had
that come down and convert to three points,
come down and convert two and ones.
And you're talking about at least four or five
of his turnovers being converted to at least 12 points.
So that's what the 27 points off turnovers come from
is just not being able to get back on defense
and actually get a stop after the turnover.
I think if we get a stop after the turnover,
it feels a little bit better,
rather than we give up an offensive rebound that leads to a three-pointer,
and now we're in a deficit every single time.
And that's what's deflating as a Spurs fan.
As you're looking and you're like, damn, he's turning the ball over.
We get back, then they score.
That's where it gets really tricky.
But I think for me, watching him, it's not as a big deal as it looked.
It looked a lot worse than it is.
I think he can clean up a lot of those things just by attacking the basket
and stop being so timid with trying to make the right play.
And I think that's what's happening.
Everybody's in the passing lane.
They're fouling.
They're deflecting.
They're doing all the little dirty shit that you know they're going to do that you're not going to get calls on.
So I think if he can clean up, just being aggressive, going in there, doing what he was doing late, it can be better.
But I think Dylan Harper needs to do the same thing because he plays with the ball too.
It's a lot of playing with the ball.
Just go by these guys.
They're going to file you or they're going to let you go.
He's not a playmaker, so he's going to keep turning over the ball every time.
I'm just letting you know.
So every time he gets it, he's going to turn it over.
Like we talked about, those concerns should be...
There's going to be another seven to eight turnovers this.
Yeah, I disagree with y'all.
No, it's alarming.
It's not a positive about none of that shit, keep turning the ball over.
I'm saying from the spur standpoint, we haven't had Darren Fox for two games.
We've seen what it looks like.
We can get D. Fox back and we can neutralize something.
No, you still got the other boys back there.
No, it has to be addressed.
Like, fuck, we're getting D.
back, right? Damn, if we're getting D. Fox back or not. Hey, young fella, you got to cherish
his ball more. We got to get a good shot every possession. We can't, you can't have this,
like, this can't be a thing. It's not a thing. Huh? It's not a thing. It's been the, it's been the last two
game. Yeah, the two, yeah, right, because we're not, without, being without our point guard.
And? And, so it's becoming a thing. Take care of the ball even more. He's not the point guard.
And so why is he at the one?
Because they don't have the primary ball.
They have the other.
They have the other guy.
He was handling the ball.
Yo.
He's still, he's turning the ball over the same way Russell Westbrook turned the ball over.
I'm being aggressive.
They're not calling fouls.
And what's, it's a fucking turnover.
That's the same thing.
Like I say.
It's not a foul.
It's a turnover.
If they're not calling a foul, it's a foul.
All of not.
And it is a foul.
All of not.
It's a turnover.
How many of those, how many of those 20 turnover that he had in two games?
that you can honestly say that he got foul.
10.
No, 10.
What you're so close.
10.
I can say 10.
I'm watching the game.
Yeah, I am too.
Okay, so we must be watching two different games.
No, not a chance.
You're watching two different games.
No.
We're watching two different games.
So, watching two different games.
Yeah, we are.
We're watching two different games.
You know what?
We are.
We are.
We are.
Like I said, we can get down the film.
If we go break down a film and you guys are wrong,
I don't expect you to admit the things.
you're wrong.
Listen, I don't, y'all, y'all have never admitted that you're wrong before?
Who? That's a lie.
No, it's not.
That's a lot.
No, it's not.
He just said he had four turnovers that turn it to 12 points if he cut them down.
That's a big fucking deal.
That's a big deal.
That's, he had nine.
That means every time you turn over, we're getting an and one or a three point four.
That's a nine.
So I'm in a live ball turnoff.
Yes.
How many live ball turnovers?
Unforced turnover.
How many live ball turnovers did he have?
What's a live ball turnoff?
Did they're going down and they, they're dead, you know, the dead?
what a dead ball turnover is?
Oh, what's a live ball turnover?
Dead ball and the ball go out of bounds.
Live ball, when they muff and go down the ball
don't go out of bounds and they go out of bounds.
Like that's a live ball.
Dead ball, to go out of bounds, live ball is when
they're going to get down to play.
How many?
Four of them.
He had four.
Out of 20.
Oh, after the last game.
This last game we had four.
The last game we had four years.
Right.
Yeah.
Four out of the nine.
The one dead ball turnover was Champagne,
he went out to the corner and he threw it out of bounds.
Uh, another turnover.
I don't know if it was a turnover when it was the back court.
So that's the back court joint.
Okay.
These are all unforced turnovers that's like.
That's a dead ball turn.
Come on, man.
That's a dead ball turn.
That's a dead ball turn.
That's a dead ball.
The other one was when Kaysen Wallace hit the ball,
went back court, and he tried to get it.
And it's little things that he is not accustomed to doing.
That's like, yo, it's paling on because of the momentum of the defense.
And the fact that the coach not making the correction.
I've seen.
You're not for the blame Miss Johnson for this boy to turn the fucking ball.
Yes, I am.
No.
Yes, I am.
Yes, I am.
Yes, I am.
The coach is the only person.
So it doesn't that can mitigate your point guard turn the ball over?
By not planning?
Why are you allowing your point guard to bring the ball up and stop at half court?
Because he's not a point guard.
Obviously, that's the fucking coach's job to tell him.
He's not the fucking point guard.
You just say, all he got to do is take away some of these turnovers.
Which way?
Is it the coach or is it him?
Who's going to tell him?
The coach.
All right.
Is it the coach or with him?
Who's going to tell the fucking player, hey.
You just try to blame him.
Listen, bring the ball all the way down.
I know you don't know what to do in these situations.
I need you to do this.
You just try to blame Ms. Johnson for this boy's turnovers.
It's the coach's job to put the player in the position to do the right team.
So whose job is to take care of the ball then?
Everybody.
No, everybody.
Everybody.
We're talking about Stephanie.
Everybody.
We're not talking about everybody.
Okay.
It's Stefan Castle's job to take care of the ball.
Yes, it is.
Yes, it is.
Yes, it is.
It's his job.
Take care of the ball.
But it's the coach's job to put him in position so he doesn't turn the fucking ball over.
So come down.
So come down and you get back to behind the court turnover.
That's on Mitch?
Push the ball down the court.
What player are we running?
Where you got to have the ball right there?
Why is he in that position?
That's the question we asked Mitch.
Why are we asking?
Hey, Mitch, why is.
You're out there.
You know the offense.
Listen, I am not.
You just said he's a three.
Right.
You just said he's a three?
I think he's a three.
All right.
So if he's a three, why the fuck is he playing the point?
Why is he doing the things he's not custom to do it?
You just said...
Okay, the coach supposed to put him in the position not to be in that position.
So if you got McLaughlin, own fucking bench, who's the point guard, put his ass in the game.
He did.
Okay, he did.
Then he stopped turning the ball.
The ball didn't, wasn't turned over when McLaughlin was in the game.
What are you talking about?
He still had no...
He still had more turnovers.
He still had more turnovers.
He still had more turnovers and okay, see whole team.
He didn't turn the ball.
when the other point guard was in the game.
Once Dylan Harper, once Dylan Harper got out of there,
so when Dylan Harper was in the first game,
he had 10 in the first game.
Dylan Harper was out there.
So what happened then?
The same thing.
Unforced turnovers.
But so he had another gun on.
Unforced turnovers.
So what happened last night?
Yeah.
Unforced turnovers.
Okay, so that's on him.
That ain't on the goddamn.
Yes, it is.
It's on everybody.
It's on everybody.
No.
It's on you.
You throw the ball over my head between my leg
That ain't on the coach behind my back
It's on everybody
This Johnson ain't got shit to do with that
Those are his, of course
Those are unforced turnovers on him
But there are other positions he was in
That it's like coach
Why are you having you?
Why haven't you called a timeout
And address this position?
So he's turned it over five times
In the first eight minutes.
Time out. Hey Steph, what the fuck are we doing, bro?
So he has more
So he has more unforced
So he has more.
Unforced turnovers than just turnovers on Mitch.
Where the unforced turnovers is me, right?
Right, so he has more on him than them.
Right, so he has more up on him than them.
No, I don't think so.
So you don't think Rashad, right?
He had 11 in game one, right?
You don't think Miss Johnson went to this man and be like, listen, son,
you can't have that many turnovers again.
Everybody probably says something to him.
So it came out and had nine.
Yeah.
So how's that on the coach?
If we, if we, if we all said it.
How is it on the coach?
They address.
Okay.
Okay.
Yes, he did.
Did you make an adjustment?
You said,
fuck addressing it.
Did you adjust?
Oh, so now that's a job.
Okay.
Yes, son.
So, hey, listen, Brandon,
stop turning the goddamn bar.
Yes, sir.
I'm going to stop turning the ball over.
Okay.
Okay.
So what are we going to do, coach,
to stop turning the ball up?
I just want you to stop turn the ball over.
There's only one.
There's only one.
I can say, oh, I'm not going to do it.
There's only one.
One should wait for him not to turn that bitch over.
Don't turn it.
No.
Shoot it.
No.
Femn't not to play.
Shoot it.
And that ain't, and that's not going to.
That is not the way that you should.
That's one way.
That's one way.
That's a dumb way.
That's a dumb way.
That's a crazy way.
But he has to play him.
Because he don't go niggas, right?
Because he, because he, because he, he had 25 points.
He led the team in scoring.
That's why you have to play him.
So you not playing him because you can't.
But you can't.
But you can't.
Just your game to get him not to turnovers take away from that.
It's your job as a coach to stop the turnover.
The turnover take away from that.
Move him off the ball.
Them turnovers take away.
Is that not the only way?
This is 100%.
Move him off the ball.
And then what?
You won't get turnovers.
Put the point guard in.
He's still going to turn off the ball.
Put the point guard in.
He had 11 turnovers.
Hey, he had on the court with him.
It's going to be as turnovers.
Get the ball to Winby.
I'd rather Winby have them turnovers than Step Bond Castle.
He had four or five of the motherfuckers himself.
Oh my God.
No, no, no, you don't.
You don't want that.
I would much rather it.
I know he's going to shoot it.
He had for himself.
I know he's going to shoot it.
Listen, he had for himself so you can't throw it.
He's throwing that bitch in the back court as well.
Up to the coach to make the justice.
We're going to talk a little bit more wimby in a moment,
but let's talk about a situation that went down in game two.
So when nature calls, nature calls, ladies and gentlemen.
Carter Bryant found out the highway.
Here was a video that was hitting the internet during the game.
Carter Bryant in the public bathroom.
What weird old stuff?
Him and the man taking the deuce.
Okay.
Smoky back here taking a shit.
But make sure to watch his hands thoroughly, though.
You turned it over first.
Fuck.
Two unforced turnovers.
Thoughts on Carter Bryant,
relieving himself during the game.
Turn over.
That was a foul.
That was a fucking foul.
Okay, Shane.
Nobody touched you, shit.
That was a fucking foul.
Nobody touched you, Shane.
Fucking Brandon over here fouling this shit.
At least the boy washed his hands.
He did wash his hands thoroughly.
That is the main thing I took from that video.
Some people don't be washing the hands.
That boy took the shit.
Oh shit.
Wash his hands properly.
Oh shit.
The goddamn shirt was still tucked in.
That boy was good reddit, boy.
We cannot confirm or deny if it was a one or two.
We have to imagine, though.
You know he comes from a good family.
You know, he come from a good family.
Boy, you come out and wash that pop you back in the day.
You're going to go back in hoop.
Oh, no, man.
Going into the public bathroom.
I don't know where you were.
raised that you just gonna go in there?
Yeah, what weird?
Like going to the airport.
That's like an airport shit.
Weirdo, listen, but the person that waited on him outside the stall,
oh, that's different.
You saw him go in the stall, the shit,
and you waited on him to come out so you can video him coming out the stall.
And didn't ask him nothing.
And this day, look, that's like, you didn't, like.
Kenya's Oklahoma City, though.
What does it have?
How the shit between the game is fucking crazy?
Like, you weirdo?
You gotta go to the locker room, bro.
Ain't that upstairs somewhere?
No, no, no, because the way OKC is,
like the locker room is far back, so it's like them sweets in between, so they have
like right in between there somewhere.
Got it go, got to go.
I'm going in the referee locker room.
But having to take a shit.
I'm going to the handicapped bathroom.
Bro, what are you eating before the game?
Barito.
That's a take of shit?
No, you know, he nervous as hell.
He's a burrito.
But you know, hey, so you ain't ever had the shit during the game?
No.
Never?
No.
Boy, shit, me.
No, bro.
Right before.
What?
Yeah.
Before, that's what I'm saying.
But before them.
You don't never have one of those either.
No, before the game?
Yeah, all that pasta stuff out.
You might have to pee, but...
Yeah, pee.
Yeah, pee.
I told, hey, man, you better call time out.
Nah, never, hell no.
You better call time out.
I stayed away from the Chinese school before the games.
Half time.
Mofo-fucking tell you, you better take a shit now, man.
I don't want to see you motherfuckers running to the bathroom.
The important conversation.
Have to take a shit during the game, you out there running with your ass cheeks tight.
What?
Dap me up.
Woo, shit.
Woo!
Hey, listen, hey.
Hey, don't park.
You bet not fucking fart, what was that?
And then you got the, oh, I need one, motherfuckin' coach don't, give me.
He ignore you.
He ignored you.
File.
Got the compression shorts off last thing going to slide through.
That's your third.
Dirty ass, boy.
I told you, I told you I need one.
Man, if you don't take your ass to the fucking locker room and run, boy, we're not going to the public.
You know, you can look under there like, man, is that a spurs church?
Yeah.
Parking with your press shorts on the fucking.
They wanted to fucking disgusting.
No, they saw him go in and waited on him to come out.
They didn't get no autograph or nothing.
If you're a regular fan and you see a basketball player in the game of-
Jack, weird, big ass come out of there.
That's a weird.
Damn, my man, what you doing?
Still weird.
I had the shit.
I had the shit.
Don't go in there.
Y'all don't go in there.
All that protein and shit we be drinking?
That's weird, man.
Wait on the man to come out.
That's it.
Their fans are different, man.
But Carter Bryan, watch his hands thoroughly.
That is Spurs basketball right there.
The motherfucker asked for an autograph right next to you.
Man, you think you can sign it?
Bro, if you don't get the fucking around.
And I'm going to say something.
What is you on?
You good?
I'm definitely going to say something.
I'm the one.
Hey, so you're just going to come ask me while I'm holding my meeting?
Man, talking about autograph?
Bitches and art.
Hey, Kay, you follow that.
Nicky, did you just follow me in the bathroom?
Did you?
Yes, she did.
And went next to you?
Like, I would, hey, did you just follow me to the bathroom, dog?
You know, that's weird, right?
Do y'all like that now?
Yes, definitely like that, big it.
Do y'all like that now?
Y'all see how they have where the players come out and the fans is right there before
you come out, like how they can like shake your hands.
Like, remember when Westbrook got into it with the guy?
Oh yeah, yeah, yeah.
Like, do y'all like the fact that we're walking through with the fans now?
Your fans?
Your fans, yes.
Home crowd, yes.
They shouldn't have that shit on the road.
Your fans for sure.
Okay.
Home fans, absolutely.
They should be able to interact and-
But the road?
Yeah, because they got to have the football.
They got a lot of the football joins out of Cowboys.
The Rams joiners like that now.
Rams in charge are joined us like that in one of them sweets.
Where the fans, you can walk out of the fans.
I think that's dope for the home fan, for the home team.
Yes.
But it shouldn't be that way for the road.
Let's keep this thing moving.
We're going to talk a little bit.
You'll say something crazy, as you know.
Talk a little wamba-wamba.
But the other side of the game for Victor Wimonyala.
Before game two, ESPN's Ramona Shelburne dropped an article
detailing Wimby's grueling, nearly two-week-long training with monks at the Shawlin
Temple in China last summer, including an interview with Master Yan Nan, who oversaw Wembe's training
at the temple.
So after having a sophomore campaign prematurely ended by a blood clot, Wembe's agent planned
the retreat with the Shiawlin master, who's a 34th generation warrior monk, who's trained
at the temple to see who was six.
So Wembe's training included constant meditation, nighttime hikes in total darkness, running
through forests, a martial arts regiment designed to help the alien control his center
of gravity to prepare him for the physical play he would face from NBA opponents and a nearly
five-hour hike to a monastery, which Wimbi did while dribbling a basketball.
Wembe's agent also reached out to Rob Polink to gain better insight to how Kobe approached
his training as well.
As we know, Wembe spent time working with Akeem and KG as well.
But Sean, when you look at Victor Wimmy Yama, I'm 21, 22 years old, I believe 21 years old
at this point, had the blood clot.
I talked about how that situation made him really appreciate him.
and respect and understand that nothing lasts forever and he needs to take advantage of the opportunity that he has.
What are your thoughts on Wimby's unconventional approach to improving his game on and off the court?
I think it's very conventional. I don't think it's unconventional at all.
As a fellow monk, myself, trained by Pai Mae.
You didn't know who Pai May is, you need to figure it out.
When you got that meditation, that calmness, yes, the stillness, you know what I'm saying?
and when the master teaches you the right things, you learn to overcome adversity a lot quicker
than those who are triggered by circumstances.
And I think he's shown a lot of resilience this year than he did here before.
He's gotten over a lot of the things that would have triggered a lot of different players
based on whether it's being fouled, whether it's overcoming the blood clot and the menace
restrictions and trying to figure out if you're going to play enough games to qualify.
for awards and all of these things that's been happening over the course of the year.
I think the training between, you know, the monks, KG, Hakeem, having Tim Duncan and David
Robertson in your backyard. I mean, he has all the advantages and like he said before,
he feels safe. You know, he feels like he's in a very safe place where if he did fall,
that he can lean on certain legends to help him find his foot in.
And I think that's very important.
And especially when you're a monk and you have to overcome people trying to step on your toes and push you in the back.
And you got to throw a couple elbows.
You know what I'm saying?
When shit get rough just to let people know you ain't on that type of time.
You know, I think Wendy's just one of those guys.
He's a one of a kind.
He's not half a player.
He's half men, half amazing.
Full alien star seed child.
He's one of them.
I commend him for going outside of the the stratosphere of what people would say is unconventional.
I think it's very common for someone like him to go find a master monk.
I'm just surprised he didn't come to me first because, you know, we got a lot of shit in common.
But, you know, Parme and the other guys are different.
We come from different hoods.
So, you know, hopefully we're running to each other one day.
Yeah, a lot in common.
And no word of Wembe visited Ling Ling during his time in trying to.
He definitely went to get some musho and some lingling for sure, for sure, for sure, for sure, for sure.
But, Mr. Me, when you hear all the stuff that Wembe was doing to prepare himself for this season
and unanimous defensive player the year first time in Bay, History, third, and MVP voting,
we'll likely have those accolades as well without this type of training,
but just how dedicated to voted he is to the game and proving himself in his mind, body, and soul, what's your reaction?
I mean, I love it.
I mean, let's see how young he is.
You know, he's on a different journey and a different path outside of basketball.
It's definitely going to help him in a long run just in life.
You know, he's definitely going to be someone who's going to take over this league for years.
You know, this year he didn't get MVP, but next year, I mean,
he's definitely going to be in the one and two range.
And then from here on out, it's just going to be, you know, just decide if God, you know,
wants to let him keep going or injury or whatever, knocking on wood.
But, you know, the only thing is going to stop Wimby is just injury.
So, but I love where his mindset is.
I love that he's doing something different.
You know, with social media and everything in this world, you know, everybody's worried
about, you know, keeping up and, you know, being a part of the Joneses and all this other
stuff.
You know, he's taking a different mission in life.
And I think it's going to, like I said, benefit him in the long run.
Bigger, what he's doing is bigger than basketball.
Basketball is just part of it too.
So you got to look at that part of this.
of his life and where he wants to be and the people that he wants to have around him.
You know, playing for the Spurs, plan for Pop, and all these greats that's been around
to that organization.
I mean, adding that with the monks and everything is just like, you know, this guy is on
his way regardless.
So yeah, I definitely commend him and I salute him on that.
And more people should think differently, you know.
So yeah.
It's like Kareem training with Bruce Lee, but Kainless, D.D., we hear the stuff.
that Wimby's doing going with Monks five-hour hikes dribbling the basketball, nighttime hikes
in total darkness, and all the other stuff he's got going on.
Yeah, we spoke on him before when we first heard about him. We're power to him.
That's what he, his agent and them are on the same page. How can we better the person and the
player? And I think them reaching out and doing different things of this nature.
has been and will be beneficial to women moving forward.
Meditating and controlling your breathing and being in hostile environments and remaining calm.
I'm pretty sure it's part of the teaching.
And the NBA is that as chaos.
And being able to be calm in that type of chaos is key.
Yeah, to be at the time 21 now, 22 years old,
and doing those unconventional way of training,
but conventional in an aspect of,
of its battle, right?
We are in battle here, and if he's doing that,
and they understand it the best, right?
How to calm your mind.
So yeah, more power to him.
Pretty sure it's not a one-shot deal,
Pretty sure he'll continue to do something of the sort, expanding on that.
If it's been helpful, I don't see why not.
Yeah, no, for a young kid, man, to open his mind up and to, to, for someone, I don't know,
like they said, his agent reached out.
I don't know if it was him that asked his agent, or if his agent presented it to him,
or someone else presented it to him.
Yeah, so I think agent reached out and took a trip out there when that would be receptive to it.
Like I said, whoever initiated it, if it was him or someone else, but to be receptive to it at that age speaks volume to his maturity.
Yeah, he is a rising superstar in this league.
And to learn how to handle it, more power to him.
Mega star?
Bena.
Mega star.
He's a rising.
Yeah, I'm saying.
Yeah, he's a stratosphere.
I mean, he has a chance to, I mean, I don't want, but he has a chance to just.
Yeah, now, something the shit he does on the basketball floor, we've never seen.
The missing your own shot and dunking it the way he is.
It's shit like that I'm watching, and I can do nothing but laugh.
I'll be jumping the fuck up.
I ain't going to lie.
I'll be jumping up like a motherfucker.
It's hilarious to me.
But, no, man, he is, he's a different breed.
We haven't seen anything like this.
and the league will be his playground for as long as it's allotted.
All right, well, let's keep this thing moving into a non-positive thing.
So Jalen Brown, Stephen A. Smith, have a well-documented, ongoing beef.
Stephen A. has questioned Brown's marketability in the past, relying on information from unnamed sources,
to which Jailen Brown responded, state your sources.
Stephen A also took issue with Brown
doing a Twitch stream after the Celtics were eliminated
in game seven against the Sixers.
Specifically with Brown calling this
the favorite season of his career.
Brown has also addressed Stephen A directly and indirectly.
So Brown was on another Twitch stream recently
offered these thoughts on Stephen A.
And I'll tell Stephen A, whoever else,
when they see him, when they see me in person,
I will let you know that is
fucking A, Stephen B, Stephen C, directly
to your face.
So you don't even, you don't even.
know. Like, it only got to be no, you know what I mean? It is what it is. You know what I mean?
That last statement took the cake. Like, you're talking about JT coming on my stream and what did
that have to do with anything? Jason Brown. F. Stephen A, Stephen B. Stephen B. Smith had nothing to
do with this, but the casualty. Yeah, everything to do with it.
B.C. Smith somewhere minding his business. All your clones can get it. You and all your
clones. So I'm naturally Stephen. I saw the comments offered this response on first take Monday.
But in the end, Jalen Brown, be careful what you wish for. You really want me to start reporting
on that level? You understand? Locker room? How the organization might think about you, how the city
may feel about you, how Jason Tatum may or may not feel about you, sneaker deals, endorsement
deals, the list goes on and on. The season is over.
bro, you on Twitch
trying to do
what I do and talking
about me needing to step away.
It makes no sense.
I'm not being disrespectful.
I'm simply making the point
that it is not wise
after 24 hours of having
your season over in the first round
for you to be coming out talking about
that's your favorite season. It ain't
the smartest thing in the world
to do. I wasn't trying to
be disrespectful. I was trying to be disrespectful. I was
trying to sit up there and look out by letting you know this is not a good look.
It's not wise.
That's all.
And I would have respected Jalen Brown more big perk, Jay, had he come at y'all, had he come
at everybody who said exactly what I was saying.
But evidently, you understand, when you're talking about clickbait and all of that stuff,
somebody told you one of the best ways to get it is to bring up my name.
And that's what you did.
who's really looking for click-B?
Is it me or is it you?
I'd love to go first.
This is a classic example of throwing rocks and high in your hands.
I think people in the media have done for years is to think that players can't come back at them
based on what they start.
And I think Stephen A. Smith has been doing this for years, which is voicing his opinion.
Just like anybody else in the media, let me voice my opinion.
me say this about this player because what is he going to say back?
All right.
So it started in the Olympics when he did the thing about the marketability.
Zaylin Brown didn't have a platform to just go out there and be like, yo, that's wrong.
That's none of your business.
And I don't know where your sources are since you can't name them, but leave my name out your mouth, right?
That didn't happen.
But they did have a sit down where it was an apology and all this clearing up type shit, right?
So Stephen A has an opinion on what happened at the end of the Celtic season and Jalen Brown going out there and feeling the way he felt and voicing his opinion on his circumstance on his own stream.
You made your opinion, but now we're in a landscape where Jalen Brown can now voice his opinion.
We're supposed to all respect your opinion based on what you say about other players.
and it's supposed to be
that's it
I said what I said
now Jalen Brown
says something back
now is
he's attacking you
how
you threw the rock first
I never understood
how somebody can tell
someone else
what's disrespectful to them
how can you tell me
what's disrespectful to me
I didn't disrespect
yes you did I just told you you did
you disrespected me
You can say I didn't mean to disrespect you.
You can say that wasn't my intention to disrespect you, but you can't tell me that I wasn't
disrespected.
You disrespecting me, bro.
So the fact that Stephen A gets back on the show to corroborate all the fucking rocks that he threw,
I just see too many people doing this type of shit.
Like, there are people throwing rocks at me, but then when I throw the rock back, it's like,
I didn't expect you to throw a fucking mountain.
now that the mountains on top of your fucking head
you're like hey man don't make me do some real journalism
and really go after your character
and really why has it had to go that deep
just shut the fuck up
he said what he said
you said what you said leave it at that
we have platforms now that we can say what we want to say now
you don't control the narrative no more bro
you can't control the narrative no more
the athlete can say what they want to say
now. That's been
the freedom that we've all been talking about
with the athletes having the podcast after
the games. Mello said it. Hey,
I'm glad that we can do this
because now we can take the reporter's pen
away from them and
we can control our own voice.
And this is what Jalen
Brown did. Folks, Stephen A, B
and C. What you're
talking about J.T. didn't want to come on the stream.
Now you're starting another narrative.
Oh, now a big perk come in.
He say, man, I got people don't like you here.
People don't like, like, come on, man.
As players, bro, it's one thing to stick together,
but it's one thing to pin everybody against one guy
that we know has just took this team from non-existent
to number two in the east.
And we're going to motherfucking pile on him
like he did something wrong by saying,
I had my best season ever.
What's wrong with telling the truth?
Is that my favorite year?
Or my favorite year, my bad
Well, I still think it's his best season ever
But that's, yeah
So if it's my favorite year based on
He said, it would have been better if he said
This is my best season
Like so, so then we're thinking numbers
Now you say this is my
This is my favorite year
That can, you know, that can't
You know, because we won a championship
And you want the finals MVP with the counterbook
So it's like it's just
It's just more of you would have been like
Yeah man this is my you know
Yeah man this is my best year
Yeah, as a player, yeah, I feel like this is my best year.
But, no, man, this is my favorite year.
Hey, we just want to rain.
But based on the comment, right, it's me.
I can see what the fuck I want.
No, you can.
No, you can't.
Hold on.
Yes, yes, yes.
I'm glad you said that.
Yes.
And now you leave room for other people's interpretation.
And now I can make a counter to that interpretation.
You can.
I have a platform to make the count.
I can.
Let's just say I made that in an interview.
Okay.
But now the interpretation is out there already.
Yeah.
And that's cool.
Okay, so everyone's going to have their opinion anyway.
But it's not cool.
It is.
It's not cool because you had something to say after somebody has to.
But he said it first.
No, you said what you said, right?
Yes.
On my stream.
This is my favorite season.
He said on his platform.
After a loss.
This is my favorite season, right?
Did they explain why?
I don't think he did.
I haven't heard a reason why.
This is my favorite season.
Like I said, now you leave.
room for interpretation, right?
So now the interpretation happens.
Which is the opinion of other people, right?
Not just one person of other people.
Now you have to go back in,
now there's another thing now.
Because that opinion is personal.
No, it's other people.
No, it's not personal.
Stephen A's personal.
But I'm just saying, so when you just said it just now,
I thought the same thing, right?
when you said best
and favorite and he said
favorite I thought the
exact same thing what'd you think
damn
yeah like damn yeah like damn
like damn yeah like damn
we just got what we got a championship
over here we didn't been through a lot of shit
so now it leaves me like
for my thought process in the way other people thinking
like
because you was the man
right so that's
what other interpretation do you
need. But if I'm talking about my own individual season, this was my favorite season because
we went from here all the way here. And I led us. And we almost got to where we needed to go.
This was my favorite season. All of that. Now my best season is as well as my favorite year.
He's my favorite year. My favorite year? The guy. Favorite season. I don't think it had nothing
to do with him being out. It could not have been. That's the point. But you're leaving room for me to sit.
Listen, that's the, that's the, that's the, that's the interpretation, right?
So we're going to correct it.
That's the interpretation.
That's, so it's all under my favorite.
Yes.
Listen, did nobody expect us to be nothing?
I led us the second seed.
I did all these things individual.
All those things, yes.
I think he said that.
And favorite is, and Jason Tatum was out.
For some people, I ain't said it all, but for some people putting it in the same interpretation.
for the people who want to push that narrative.
No, that's the narrative that you're giving me.
If you're not going to give me a direct,
just like a direct answer, if I say, like with Skip say,
hey, is the Spurs going to sweep, you know, okay, see, I don't know, we'll see.
We'll see.
You're giving me a reason to be able to say, oh, well, this guy's not really that confident of his team.
If you were to say, yes, they are, damn, he's confident.
But you're giving me a reason to be able to be like, okay, question it.
But you're not saying.
Like if you say it the right way, then it's not a...
There ain't no right way when I say anything.
There ain't no right or wrong way for somebody to tell me I'm saying something right or wrong based on what you want to hear.
But if you want to hear some shit the way you want to hear it, motherfucker, you say it.
There ain't no right way to say nothing when I say what I want to say.
There is the correct way to say things.
No, it's not.
There is the correct way.
There is the correct way to say things in life.
Because when you don't, you see what happens.
But yeah, I agree.
But what happens?
What happens?
What happens?
I come back at you.
Yo, but nothing happening.
Hold on to quit.
What happened?
Hold on one second.
So the point that you, like, somebody want to push and that it, right?
The Stephen A, the narrative that he was, so like I said, to leave room for interpretation
that you included Jason Tatum in that, right?
I agree with Jalen Brown in this sense, right?
You, like, Stephen A, Jason Tatum hasn't been on your stream, right?
For whatever reason there is.
He's been rehabbing, been doing whatever.
Whatever the reason, whatever it is, right?
I haven't asked him.
That too, right?
Or he's been busy.
Or I'm trying to build this.
And then bring him on, whatever the reason is, is the reason.
Stephen A. shouldn't go on there and be like,
hey, Jason Taylor, ain't been on your stream yet.
So that's, so he's, in that regard, he is trying to push the narrative that you
included Jason Tatum, and that's why this is your favorite.
But you also say, fuck me.
So what time do you think it is?
Why?
I'm just saying, if you say, fuck it.
This is your second time doing this, Brandon.
This is your second time.
This is your second time.
First time we sat down and we talked.
Okay, the beef started because of what?
See, I only ran, I'm not marketable because Nike did.
No, because Nike did.
He didn't say that.
He didn't say, those weren't his words.
Who, Stephen A?
Those weren't Stephen A's word.
Unnamed source said that he was.
Unnamed source said he was.
Those weren't his words.
So you passed along a message.
He heard that.
This wouldn't tell me.
And then wouldn't tell me who.
He's not obligated to tell the world either.
Why not?
Why not?
This is my job.
This is my dog.
I'm not reported.
What you mean?
This is my job.
If somebody tells you a lie, your job is to go tell that it's a lie?
No.
Who said it's a lie?
Who the fuck can corroborated?
Because he wasn't on USA basketball, so they had to reach all.
That's a fucking insinuation then.
No, it's a fact.
No, it's not.
It's not a fact that you weren't on the USA team because you're not marketable.
Yes, it is.
That's a fact.
You can't prove it.
You have to start his own friend.
You can't prove it.
He didn't have to he wanted to.
He said it was inspired by Kobe Brian.
Bro, get the facts.
Bro, he was going to sign with Nike.
No, why was he wearing Nike with this,
bro because of the car reset?
Because of the car reset.
I don't want to be with Nike.
Obviously, it had nothing to do with that.
My mom, because is making up shit along the way.
No, we're not.
You can't say it's a fact when you can't prove it.
Bro, you cannot dismiss it.
Bro, you cannot dismiss.
You can't say the reasons he didn't make the team
were this when you can't prove it.
Yes, he didn't.
make it. We can't say it was because of this.
You stop wearing the Nike. You stop wearing the Nike because of the carrie thing, right?
And then you...
I ain't going to say it's 100% but I'm glad to see it. You can't say nobody can say that we
heard. Okay. There ain't no facts.
You're, niggins, the way you're moving is giving us the reason. What are you talking about?
Because that's the way you talk. Because that has nothing to do. What is it?
Bro, you can be a smart ass. You can be a smart ass. You can be a smart ass. You're making an opinion
right now. No, I'm not making a opinion. What's the fact. I'm going by what I see.
what you see. I'm observing. I'm observing. I'm observing.
I'm observing the situation.
What is you saying?
I'm observing what he does.
What are you affirming?
I just said,
so Jayland,
he turns you off.
Bro, no.
Does he turn you off?
No, he doesn't.
Okay, so how are you taking what you hear and then you're saying this is what it is?
That's the facts.
It ain't the facts.
If I'm observing you,
if I say,
if I'm observing Jason Tatum and I'm observing Jalen Brown,
Jaylen Brown gives me more Kanye West.
That's you.
This guy gives me more.
David Brown gives me.
You.
So he's just saying
You can't speak
But that's what I'm saying
So it's his observation
This statement
This has nothing to do
With the fucking people in the world
The world think the same thing
We can ask the chat
Right now
Let's go back
Let's go back
Let's go back
Let's take you
Jay Z or does Jlin Brown
give you Kanye
They're going to say
Let's go back to the statement
When a motherfucker
Say you think you all that
Oh
You think you all that
Look at him
He thinks he all that
And I say no, motherfucker, you think I'm all that.
No.
You watching me.
I don't get to watch me.
You watching me.
So whenever someone says, hey, I think you was doing this and that.
No, nigger, you was, you think that.
People have said that Jaylen Brown.
What people.
So I got a question.
People in the industry.
Boom.
People in the industry.
Boom.
People in the industry.
It don't matter.
People.
It do matter.
Let's get around.
Because we want to know.
Who's saying what?
Don't hide behind the industry.
your motherfucker
Stephen A.
Smith and I say this.
Now I know who said it.
Okay.
And I clap back.
Okay.
Now,
okay.
Okay.
And do you think that?
And do you think that helps you?
Yes, it helps me.
Yes, it helps me.
You think so.
Yes, it helps me.
I got my own voice.
No it does not.
No it does not.
No it does not.
And that's the fucking problem right there.
So if it don't help me,
you think you bring it the fucking program.
All right.
All right, Brandon.
That's the fucking problem.
That means that Stephen A can provoke me
any time he wants to and I can't say shit about it.
No, you, no, you're calling me out of
my name talking about fuck me and you say you why did i say it and now why why did i say why are you
provoked you disrespected my name what did you say that why did you respond to tim
thomas this is not this is not this is not this is not this not where you not why did i respond
to talking to them let's stay right here we know we were provoked when a nigger provoked you what you
got to do no you respond you don't you don't have to you don't have to do you don't but when you do
respond, now you're playing my game.
So now let's play the game.
Guess what you said? Guess what you said three years ago?
You're going to lose.
Guess what you said three years ago, Brandon?
You're going to lose. Play stupid games.
Win stupid fucking prizes.
And he's, and he's loose.
Do you want to win a stupid prize or not?
And he's bought to.
You want to play the fucking stupid game?
Let's play the fucking stupid game.
He's, he's has the upper hand.
Why are you arguing with somebody who
You want to play?
Who's a journalist?
You are a $400 million.
My season's over with.
I got time to play.
Okay.
What's up?
And where's it going to get you?
It's going to get you.
It's gonna give me 300 million.
I got it, solidify, sign still to deliver.
You already have that.
You already had that.
Now what?
We're talking about-
We're not worried about nothing else.
You're proving this point is what I'm saying.
No, we not.
Yes.
No, we not.
You're proving this point.
Ain't no point.
No, that's psychology.
Psychology is, no.
You prove the point when you're provoking me to be seen
perceptionally by the people who don't know me.
You're trying to tell them this is how he is.
Watch this.
I'm gonna push his buttons and show you this is how he is.
And it's like, yo, why would you do that?
Why would you do that?
Why would you respond?
Why would you do that?
Why would you respond?
Why you're not doing that to Joker?
Why would you respond?
Why are you not doing that to LUCA?
He was better I'm doing it.
Why you're not doing that the AR?
He was better off doing with Brin- Why?
Why are you doing this to me?
Why are you doing this to me?
So you're making it about race.
Why are you doing this to me?
Like, I'm gonna just see your person and that's a conversation with me and you, man.
No, you just named four white guys.
I didn't know they was white.
I thought there was players.
You did.
I thought there was players.
No, you just named it.
I thought they was players.
I didn't say it was white.
I named them by name.
So you think that was more gangster what Jalen Brown did?
I don't care about what's gangster.
I don't think gangster is cool.
Okay, well, okay, do you think what Jalen Brown did was way smarter than what LeBron?
I think he defended himself.
Okay.
LeBron, very strategic, though, went on.
Because LeBron, LeBron had a conversation with that man to his face and told him this what it is.
LeBron went on Pat McAfee.
Yo.
Okay, but just called him.
Jalen Brown sat down with Stephen A. Smith.
So was it?
In his face.
So face-to-face.
And I came to you during the game and I got to you.
your face and I told you what it was so what's up
now same thing so what is you what is you
looking at jaylor for the private
so was it not bad for lebrine did it not work
well for lebrine yes it still work
so what the fuck can we talk about if it worked
well if it worked well for lebron how the fuck
it did it not work well for jayb because you're going
on us you're going on the platform talking about
f someone so should i do it in his face
at a game during the time out yep yep you don't make no sense
that's better that's way i mean because i don't know what you said
i don't know what you said in that we do know what he said
because the nigg came on tv and told
everybody what he said. He came on TV and told everybody what he said. Did Brian say what was
said? Look, did. He went on Pat McAfee and told everybody what he said. He did? Yes. Okay.
Let's get the fact straight. Did he go on Pat McAfee and said, hey, this is what I told
Stephen A Smith. I told him not to talk about my son. Don't disrespect Brunney. I'm sure it was more
than that. Also, also name was more than that. Jalen Brown protect yourself at all.
No, for sure. Nobody's complaining about that. It's neck day. It's how you do it though. It's what
It ain't how you do it, it's how they do it.
You just play stupid games, you win stupid prize.
And that's a stupid vibe that you're not just about to say anything to me on air
because you don't think I'm going to say something back.
That's a stupid prize you're trying to win, man.
I already won.
That's a stupid prize.
I already won a championship, a finals MVP, what is the Western Conference,
finals, whatever you want to call that too?
Eastern Conference.
Yes.
Right.
So shouldn't you be, so you're way higher than us?
Should not be what?
Should not have time to talk about niggins for
trying to destroy my name? I got time.
You can't. I got time.
You can't. What did he say to destroy his name?
Bro, he's saying, I'm not marketable.
What's talking about right now?
So you bring it up old shit.
Being marketable. No, he just said it.
He just said it. He just said it.
That was from the old.
No, no, he said it in the interview.
He said it on Monday.
But he said it on Monday, Kay.
All that, the marketing.
No, he just reintered.
He just reiterated.
He reinterated.
what he said the first time.
So he said it.
It took it further in this clip.
He took it further, but it was already
said the point I'm fucking making.
And it wasn't his words
from the beginning.
Wasn't his words.
Okay.
He was reporting on what he heard.
Okay.
It ain't helping Jalen Brown.
It's not.
It's not.
It's not helping him in what,
it's not going back and forth
Stephen 8.
It's not.
He don't need to.
There's no need.
It ain't hurting me.
There's no need.
It ain't hurting me.
I got time.
Right?
If it's constant.
So we're talking who, right?
So for Jalen Brown to go on his stream,
so we're going to be critical in a second, right?
For you to go on your stream after y'all lose
and bitch and complain about the refs
and bitch complain about this and bitch complain about that,
like, you leave room for people to have something to say, dude.
You're giving me a reason.
You're giving people ammunition and fuel
to critique you even further
than what people might already think about you.
Like this is the thing, right?
But that's true.
People might already be thinking these things.
You're just fueling that fire even more.
But in line with comments he made previously before a little mystery.
He's talking about the foul baiting and the flopping.
Okay, all of that.
Yeah, yeah, I don't see it.
It's a different...
I get it.
It comes from a different place now.
It lands on people in a different light now.
And now the people that already...
If they're on the fence about you,
now you just give him reason to go on the other side of it, right?
What's the difference between those comments that he made
and LeBron's saying,
I think my season was a success?
Because why does it have to be a comparison is my thing?
Why do we always got to bring the Brown?
Because I want to compare.
I don't want to have a conversation.
This guy did not get you saying what you're saying right now.
I'm not talking about it.
We didn't hear you say nothing about what LeBron said when he said that.
So now Jaylon Brown says this is my favorite season.
This is my favorite season.
This ain't got nothing to do with LeBron.
We're talking about Jaylen Brown and Steve and A.
Smith.
I'm comparing two players who made very similar comments.
Similar?
Very similar.
Very similar.
Very similar.
I don't want to have a conversation.
Very similar.
We bring LeBron up in the conversation.
We got nothing to do with it.
I think he said he had a successful season.
LeBron said, I had a successful season.
So he didn't say, LeBron James didn't say,
this is my favorite season.
My favorite season.
He don't have to.
He don't fucking have to.
He said, I felt like I had a successful season this year.
Okay.
What you mean?
Okay.
Favorite and success is two different things.
Okay.
It's two different.
It is.
It is.
It sounds too.
But it sounds like, it sounds like, I can compare it, though.
No.
No, it does not sound like, no.
Oh, I can't.
Stop making it.
No.
But the second.
conversation y'all just go say no.
No.
Because I don't want to do it.
Like I said, come on, man.
Come on, man.
I hate basketball conversations that people
want to bring Michael Jordan up every
time and LeBron James every time.
Fuck y'all talk about, man.
That's low-hanging fruit.
Y'all niggins is just doing this shit
to piss me off right now.
Y'all know what's going on.
Y'all know what's going on.
For you to bring LeBron James into it is low-hanging fruit.
He's the only one that did the same thing.
He the only one that did the same exact thing
that's beeping with the same.
exact guy that no one knew the roof off of.
We did not.
No, he did not.
You're just making that up in your head.
You know, Russ checked Stephen A. in his face by going on TV saying something about him?
Who?
I did.
Right?
Oh, you just said we're not going to compare, bro.
I went and said something to compare.
How are you going to throw yourself in here?
What the fuck?
I said something to him in his face.
I mean, they both said something to his face.
What the fuck are we doing?
Bro.
We're going to move the gold post and we're going to talk.
We're talking about Jalen Brown here and Stephen A.
So why would why would you bring you up?
I said, I'm not going to have a conversation about LeBron James.
I said that.
So therefore, saying something to the man and create and going on with a narrative,
what you're trying to do is two separate things.
What you mean saying something to the man?
LeBron says something to that man to his face.
So did Jalen Brown.
He sat right in front of him during the interview.
They said they had an interview.
They didn't talk about this situation.
Wait, wait, wait, interview like, wait, was he over there?
Like, they was right here, right there.
Oh, okay.
They had a real interview.
After the whole marketing thing.
Okay.
After he said he wasn't more, they had a whole sit down.
Okay.
And Stephen A. Smith said, I heard this.
Those are not my words.
They had a whole powwow on this situation.
Cool.
Okay.
Now, fast forward two years.
Two years.
Fast forward two years.
Whatever it was, it wasn't reconciled by Jalen Brown.
Right?
Okay.
He still feels the way about the guy.
Okay.
He said, okay.
He said, okay.
Right.
As a whatever the conversation, we said I'd have a conversation.
However I'll walk away from that conversation is my given right.
We ain't got to become friends, we don't have to text each other, we had a conversation.
Fast forward two years.
Jalen Brown, now on your Twitter stream, whatever you're on, you're doing your thing.
After your season, you have a statement that's being made about this.
Now other people, you're on your stream talking about this.
So now people are critiquing what you had to say.
But in those two years, right, he left Nike, right?
Right, right?
He had left Nike.
He started his own brand, right?
And then he didn't go to the Olympics thing, right?
Everybody else, right?
So now everybody even, I mean, listen, I was, I'm with him.
I fuck with J.B.
But after that, we were all thinking like shit.
Maybe they don't fuck with him.
You can't say we were all thinking shit.
You can only say you were thinking.
How he is the final fucking MVP.
And you got Derek White.
plan for the fucking USA team and he's the best way on the team how the fuck he's not there
Steve Kerr stupid as Steve Kerr stupid as Steve Kerr's not so Steve Kerr is not so why didn't Jason
