Starting point is 00:00:01 This week on the snack, the Golden Globes, Big Dick Slander, and Mom Drama continues. This is a Dear Media production. Enjoy. Not the big dick slander. Can you imagine? I know. I cannot wait to talk about it. Hi, guys.
Starting point is 00:00:20 Hi. So the Eagles are, seasons over. They lost to the 49ers. It was a heartbreaking loss. But I don't know. For people who have been on this journey and it's been a lot of ups and downs, I think there's a sense of relief. Like, we're, we're done. We don't just stress like this anymore. I don't really feel like that about the Steelers, because I just know they're going to lose. Yeah, so this is a little in advance,
Starting point is 00:00:42 but the names tonight, which I dressed for it, apparently. I didn't mean to do. And you're going to have some people over. Brittany texted me and was like, can we come over? Because she's been packing. And I was like, yeah, come over. And then I texted you. And then I went to hold this and spent $125. Like, it's the Super Bowl. So we hosted for the Eagles game. And my husband, Chunky, wanted to make these beeria tacos. We got an Instapot for Christmas from my brother and stuff. And I mean, he went all out. He spent over 100 bucks on all the stuff. We went to this Mexican grocery store. Yeah. Again, it was so much to do for five people. Listen, he is so funny to me. This is the second time he has created a whole food project and then
Starting point is 00:01:22 kicked it off to you. That's not really fair. He did it. He did do it. He did 99% of it. But he had to go do this thing, and I can't say it. He had some family members who are competing in a thing that's literally, I don't even know if I'm allowed to say that. But if it airs, and I can tell you guys about it, I will. But he went to like a taping thing. I came over. I said, everyone come over at one.
Starting point is 00:01:49 It was $150. He wasn't home. I'm like texting him, do you want me to put the meat in the pot? And we had to FaceTime your brother to figure out how to use a pressure cooker. And I still didn't do it right. I still didn't lock it all the way. Who knows how to use a pressure cooker? That's insane.
Starting point is 00:02:01 And that's like asking me to use like heavy machinery They're so scary. That's crazy. They really are. But the, the beeria was incredible. Yeah, I think he has a few tweaks, maybe a little more salt.
Starting point is 00:02:11 Yes, salt. But he packed tacos up for me to take home and he packed a little beeria sauce on the side for me. The salt is a real issue on our house. It is? It's, you know me, I don't, you're heavy on the salt. I'm on the other side of the spectrum.
Starting point is 00:02:26 You really are. And I'm probably pretty centrist, but he's like sometimes not enough. And so I'm in there over his shoulder fucking salting his shit. You were. So we'll get there. I like a lot of salt. So what are we having at your place? I really went crazy. I obviously got a churcruitery board. So I have three types of cheese and prosciutto and some crackers and shit like that. I got some from cocktail. I got two kinds of like pasta salads. And I got sushi. Okay. I want people to feel like they got food.
Starting point is 00:02:56 You know you go to parties like this sometimes. And you're like, all I ate was dip and cheese and I feel sick. Yes, and you can really only graze on the chakoutre board so long. Yeah. Even that, it starts to be like, I've had everything on this six times. I mean, you and I used to get off stage and just house a shirkooly board and I was swollen. Just take it to the face. We had to tell them to please stop giving us charcutory board. Yes. Okay. Well, let's think of orders. Thanks to Quince, get free shipping and 365 day returns on your next order at quince.com slash GGE. And thank you to AG1. Go to drinkag1.com slash GGE to get a free AG1
Starting point is 00:03:29 duffel bag and welcome kit with your first subscription order. Okay, so, yes, heartbreaking loss for the Eagles, but I guess we'll see what happens tonight. And right after that game, we watched the Golden Globes. So this is our Golden Globe Report. Let's do it.
Starting point is 00:03:43 So Nikki hosted for the second year in a row. I looked flawless. Yes. Unbelievable. She was great. Yeah. I didn't know that we were going to get a song. We got a song again this year. Oh, I knew we would.
Starting point is 00:03:53 You did? Well, she's going to do a song. Okay. She's a multi-hyphen it. So she opened with a really strong Epstein joke. I thought that was a great joke on the people in the room being on A list. A list or is A list. The E.S.
Starting point is 00:04:08 That was been redacted. It was a really funny joke. And then all these shots at CBS. And I was like, wait, I was like, this can't be on CBS. Like when I was hearing the jokes, I was like, oh, I guess this is not an NBC. I hadn't looked. I was like, it took me in it to realize she's making the jokes on CBS. Yes, which obviously I appreciate even more, but I was a little surprised.
Starting point is 00:04:32 She did that. They let her do that, I guess. Yeah. I loved it. I loved it. CBS needs to be put on blast. I mean, I think that there wasn't a lot of political stuff in the opening speech. So like that's where they got their kind of shots in.
Starting point is 00:04:43 And I think that obviously, what are times not tough these days? So it's hard to not make it that whole, the whole speech. Right. But it's not really her content, a lot of political stuff. Yeah, I don't know. I don't know, like historically how hard they go. I mean, it's, it is. everything feels disjointed for like what's going on in the world and like to be like laughing
Starting point is 00:05:02 and celebs and red carpets and stuff like that. And of course some celebs went pretty hard on the red carpet. Mark Ruffalo on like Minneapolis and everything that's happening and Jean Smart, I think she went off on the red carpet. So when she won her award, she just circled back and was like, I said what I need to say. Please be good people. Just try. And then a few others. But I really thought that was so funny. I laughed out loud. at Nikki B. Jerkin. So first of all, she says Michael B. Jordan played two brothers
Starting point is 00:05:33 and then she was like, can I say that? Which I like laughed so hard. And then she said like, Nikki B. jerking. And I just, I love watching as soon as she mentioned someone's name and the camera goes to them and how they react because most of these people look so uncomfortable.
Starting point is 00:05:49 What do you think she's going to do? This is not a roast. You know, like they just, they brace for impact. Every single, but they take themselves That's what I'm saying. But some of them don't. And obviously the comedians, Kevin Hart and, like, The Rock is fine. Claire Dane's, she was, like, ready to laugh.
Starting point is 00:06:05 I loved her reaction. And, like, Michael B. Jordan looked fine. But some of the other ones, they look so tense. It's so embarrassing. What do you think she's going to say? Sean Penn, he didn't even see that coming. He really caught astray. Poor Sean Penn.
Starting point is 00:06:18 I don't even know if I'd say caught astray. She went in no loob. Why? I mean, it was just like, what did he ever do to anybody? I mean, she really, she brought up Charlie Sheen. She called him a leather handbag. And he just took it. He was right in the front too.
Starting point is 00:06:34 Like, what did he do to Nikki? Sweet little old Sean Beck. We loved everything she did. There was the first year for podcasting. And Amy Poehler won for her podcast, Good Hang. And I've been saying this, I wish I would have said out loud. I have been saying she is going to be the new Queen Bee of podcasting based on the numbers of that show, own and she gets all the hugest celebs that the other huge shows get.
Starting point is 00:07:00 But I think it's a more fun interview and these clips are so viral and people really love her and open up to her. And I think she brings out their humor. Definitely. I've like been saying this that like this is the biggest podcast. I think it's going to be like the truly the biggest podcast and then for it to win that award for her to win the award over her ex, which you love to see it. I just, I love to see her career continuing this way too.
Starting point is 00:07:21 Yes. Yes. I think you think people are like, okay, she's, I mean, obviously she's produced movies and acted in movies, she's just done sitcoms for so long, but to pivot into podcasting and to be the biggest one, I mean, I just love it. We have the same agent, so we're basically the same when she thanked her agent. I was like, oh, there he is. Get us on good hang. I would love that. So that was great. There was just like some really fun moments. Can I tell you what I love year after year is watching Kylie and Timo just sit at the table and hold court. They never get up.
Starting point is 00:07:51 Yes. People just come over and over and over. El Fanning came over and Jennifer Lawrence, people sit down with them. They do not get up. They are not, like, they're not being rude. Well, I don't think Kylie can get up in that outfit. Yeah. And I mean that respectfully. Like, she is suction into that.
Starting point is 00:08:07 She looked phenomenal. My favorite dress than I, I'm sorry. And then, well, in Point Rainey, he got up. I think he had to. I think you had to go accept his award. And did you see this from the back? So he had his hand on our waist, and then he had his hand like kind of on her butt.
Starting point is 00:08:17 And he pushed up on her butt to get up. Like, he used it as a cushion to push. Like, Shisham couldn't even grab, like he wouldn't even, his hand would slip if he tried to put his hand on my butt. Like, it was a cushion. Love it. I love her body and her dress. She just looked amazing. But every year it makes me laugh.
Starting point is 00:08:36 They're not being rude. People just want to come over, kiss the ring, I guess. They're just, they're there looking amazing. He is aging backwards. He is Benjibutting. I mean, every year he looks younger. He looks 12. He's crazy.
Starting point is 00:08:47 Like, I don't know. I don't think I could fuck that guy. I'd be like, I'm a peto. Like, he looks so young. Every year, I swear to God, he gets younger. He looks at. He looks younger than Nick Jonas, which is saying something. That is also like a baby face who just doesn't, like the way, whatever's going on in his face,
Starting point is 00:09:01 he literally just, they look 12. No, he doesn't look like he should be able to vote. And she's this like curvy mom of two. She looks like an adult. Yeah, the same with Priyanka Chopra. Like, it just was a mismatch. I've always felt like those couples look so off to me. But I don't think Kylie's not going to get up and make the rounds.
Starting point is 00:09:18 Like, it's just such a interesting observation that they just sit. They just sit. I think they're being rude. I think people just want to come over. And I think they support each other in like a really beautiful way. She is obviously not in this world, but she's a billionaire and a huge mogul in her own right. And they really like show up for each other in a nice way. I'm just like watching it.
Starting point is 00:09:36 Okay, my other favorite moments were I liked watching Rose Byrne on the carpet because she had this green dress and they zoomed out to the whole carpet. And everybody is in black and silver. And she sticks out. Yes. You just saw her. And our friend Taylor, who does like great roundups, Taylor Frost in fashion. And she was like, that's a winner's dress. Like, you just, you saw her in a sea of black.
Starting point is 00:09:57 And then she got on stage at one of my most favorite moments is she won. And my husband couldn't be here because we got what a baby dragon. And he's at a reptile expo in New Jersey. I saw, I think it was it, Blakely Thorne. I don't want to misspeak. But someone was like, the straights have got to stop. That is the craziest answer for why your husband could not be able to watch you except a best actress award.
Starting point is 00:10:21 You didn't hate it. So weird. I didn't hate, I think they're so weird. I think that was so weird. Like, I wish, like, she looks so gorgeous. Then it was like, what is this? It's like, are we doing reptilian fashion? Is that the green dress?
Starting point is 00:10:34 No, it's a nod to the Reptile Expo in New Jersey that her husband's at? Is it really? No, I don't know. I just said that. Is it true? No, I'm making this. That's why she was. But she did get on stage and say, my husband can't be here because this is a dumb fucking expo in New Jersey.
Starting point is 00:10:48 No, like literally, it's like straight, white people have to be stopped. Okay. What do you think about this really? though, because, like, do you think, I think this is, like, an amazing relationship because she's like, just go to your little reptile thing. Like, she's like, I don't know, I can't decide how I feel about it. I love when partners show up for each other. Things are really important and beautiful, nice to watch, and it's meaningful, but I don't know.
Starting point is 00:11:10 I can't decide what it says about their relationship. I think it's fine. I guess I just don't care, but people were saying, people were criticizing Haley Steinfeld for not being at Josh Allen's game. She was on the red carpet. She was in sinners. I mean, she should be there. Her movie that she's in was dominated.
Starting point is 00:11:28 She should be there. That's insane. Who are you people? I guess you're right, to your point, we're going to talk about Jack Shepherd later. But no matter what you do, people are going to have something to say about your relationship.
Starting point is 00:11:38 Right. And I think their relationship's solid because she wouldn't have said that. She didn't think it was funny and happy about her relationship. Yeah. Yes, totally damned if you do, damned if you don't.
Starting point is 00:11:47 Worst part of the night, UFC cameo. Without a doubt. How much should they pay to do that? So the UFC, this basically right before the heated rivalry stars came out, they were like, these next presenters are so hot, they're going to need security. And they play this like UFC music and the lights. And then these two fighters, I don't know UFC.
Starting point is 00:12:06 So I don't know. They are like as big in that world, whatever. They come out. It was so forced. It was so awkward. No one understood or clapped or cheered or whatever. Like I feel like our Ilya and Shane did not deserve that. And it's the deal has been signed by Paramount making the network CBS the home for all UFC events.
Starting point is 00:12:26 $7 billion deal. And so all of the 26 UFC events and fight nights will be available to stream on Paramount Plus. So that's why they, obviously, you know that was like, you knew that was something part of a deal. Yeah. But it was just like, who had to come up with that? And do you think they were like, oh, we're going to eat with this? We're going to have it be like the heated rivalry stars and needs. bodyguard because there's, do you think some, do you think whoever came up with that?
Starting point is 00:12:51 The writers in the room were like, this is so bad, but we have to do it? Or do you think they were like, we're going to cook with this? I think some people thought they were really going to cook. This is just so outside of the box and it felt really misplaced and weird. No one was like, look, they just did that. And not the right type of room? Yeah, the room felt really weird. It's just the lights.
Starting point is 00:13:10 Those aren't UFC people. You know, like it was just weird. I hated it. Also, Nikki could have come out in another beautiful gown and just, said something sweet or cute or funny and just introed them. And I would have liked it more. Yes. So they really I mean have been on just a
Starting point is 00:13:26 rocket ship to fame. Like no one really knew of these actors a month ago or two months ago. What Connor's story was like I was waiting tables six months ago or whatever he said. I don't want to misquote him. But yeah, like I would have loved to hear Nikki speak on heated rivalry not the fucking UFC intro. Can you imagine the jokes about heated rivalry? We were robbed
Starting point is 00:13:42 of the jokes about heated rivalry. So that sucked. That sucked. And then the only other things I have, I loved watching the boy from all her fault on the red carpet. He's so cute. His little tuxes, his little blue tucks. And Tiana Taylor gave this really beautiful and passion speech. And before that, she said, wait until you see the party in the back of my dress. She just made me laugh so hard. She had this little like rhinestone bow tie in the back. She had like a whale tail. And it was like what Kim would wear in All's Fair, which Tiana Taylor was also in All's Fair.
Starting point is 00:14:09 Like that's what it's like the designer. Yeah. And then my last thing was the food. I don't know if you saw the food, but the Critics Choice Awards got a lot of blowback for the food that they decided to serve last week, which was just like a whole food's snack plate. And they did Nobu last night. They did. They did. Three pieces of sushi, little sashimi, little salad, a little piece of miso, black cod. Food, not a lot of food, but it looked lovely. That's what people, that's the amount of food they want to eat. Yep. Like, you know you're going to get roasted if you serve people this snack plate that looks like you get it in a box on a flight. It was two bushels of grapes.
Starting point is 00:14:47 It was three different kinds of crackers. It was old sweaty cheese. I mean, it was crazy. Okay, Nobo, nice. Novo, if they got Nobo. So those are my notes on the globes. It was great. I just have two quick things.
Starting point is 00:14:57 One battle after another, and adolescence swept a lot of the awards. I haven't seen either of those. So I just didn't care about that. I think sinners was robbed. And can I tell you something that I think will break your brain, that White Lotus is in the drama category. and the bear is in comedy.
Starting point is 00:15:14 My mind has always been blown at the bear being in comedy. People talk about this. It's like a meme. Like, how is the bear in comedy? Like, if I'm watching the bear, I'm crying or I'm having a panic attack, right? So that's always been a thing. But the fact that White Lotus is in drama, White Lotus feels more comedy than the bear.
Starting point is 00:15:29 Can you believe those two? I mean, I do think White Lotus is more drama than comedy, but if you're going to put the bearing comedy? That's my point. That's my point. Comedy. Okay with the White Lotus being in drama, but the bear needs to be there too,
Starting point is 00:15:42 and they need to swap. Now that I'm even further into the bear, I could not agree with you more. That's crazy. I watched every episode that exists. It's not a fucking comedy. And I actually think White Lotus under comedy is totally acceptable.
Starting point is 00:15:54 I do too. Okay. And the last thing is, thank you for educating me. Do we need to watch the pit? So it takes place in Pittsburgh, which is obviously where I'm from, and I promise you guys,
Starting point is 00:16:05 I'll add shows there. I was born there. It is a big like hospital culture, blah, blah, blah. I don't like medical dramas. I don't either. I'm really squeamish about that stuff. I don't, I can't watch any of it. I didn't watch ER.
Starting point is 00:16:20 I've never watched a medical drama. I really get very squeamish about it. I know, but people are so obsessed. Let us know in the comments, you guys. Like, I don't really have a problem with ER. I watched it a little bit. I just never got super into it. Graze Anatomy.
Starting point is 00:16:34 I was never really big in that. But like, is it different than those? Like, if we're sitting here saying, Really, let us know in the comments. If we're sitting here saying, we're not ER girlies, we're not Grey's Anatomy girlies, will we like the pit?
Starting point is 00:16:45 Tell us why. Because I'm open to it. I feel like I see people post about it and I'm like, I didn't expect that. Like people are obsessed. Well, it's not HBO. So it is a different level of television, I think,
Starting point is 00:16:56 than like ER would be, right? Like a different level of production value. Yeah. And maybe it's edgy or I have no idea. What I don't like is the hospital about it. I don't want to see the hospital. That's not a setting I like. I'm with you.
Starting point is 00:17:07 I'm with you. But I want to like. like that show. It's from Pittsburgh. I want to watch it. Have you tried it at all? I tuned in for like five minutes of it. There was like a heart transplant or something. Oh, they're really doing like, it's blood. It's too much blood. I don't want it. Okay. All right. But I like that you asked. I am struggling for television. I have nothing. I got, I started the new season of Traders last night. I do think last season was like this crazy flash in the pan. You would Gabby, who was unbelievable and Tom Sandoval and Dylan Ephron. This season is Donna Kelsey, which is hysterical.
Starting point is 00:17:39 We talked about this before. Isn't it like physical challenges? Yes. And honestly, they had the two physical challenges from the first two episodes, it would, I don't, I think Donna Kelsey, they might have just let her sit this one out. I don't know. It would have killed her. The first one, they have to get into these boats and row out into this lake and
Starting point is 00:18:00 pull these coffins from the lake and then drag these coffins. That is so morbid. Drag these coffins up onto the shore and then carry them up a hill. and drop them into gravesites. Wait, that is dark as shit. Pull these coffins out of the lake. What? There's dozens of coffins in the lake.
Starting point is 00:18:19 And then the next day, they have to take these chariots and drag them back to the castle through the woods in Scotland. They're like, mosh, mosh. I mean, they have to, like, push these chariots. They look heavy as fuck. Like, Donna would die. So she's not doing that?
Starting point is 00:18:35 She was definitely part of the first challenge. The second challenge, you guys let me know if I'm wrong. I did not see her apart. I'm not like ragging on somebody for being a certain age. This feels physically not capable for like physically like not safe for people of a certain age. Yes. She's like my mom's age.
Starting point is 00:18:52 She's grown kids. Like that's what it is. I mean, there's almost nobody on that show under 40, which is crazy. But you know, I was like asking a friend of mine, I was like, well, does anybody hook up on the show?
Starting point is 00:19:04 And she was like, that's not the vibe. And I was like, do people get like drunk? And she was like, that's not the vibe. And I was like, do people fight?
Starting point is 00:19:09 and she was like, that's not the vibe. People like go to bed early and get up and have breakfast. And I was like, what? Oh, no. What is the drive? Sorry. I'm honestly cancel this. But thank God.
Starting point is 00:19:21 Tommy Lies started this week as this comes out and started on Tuesday night. So we will have recorded before it came out. But God, I rewatched the first two seasons. I'm ready. I'm excited. I mean, the cliffhanger from last year was unbelievable. I am actually really curious what they're going to do with this because I read the book. It's only one book.
Starting point is 00:19:38 And the book, I mean, it ends, they do go, they do move to New York in the book. Like, every college ends and they move to New York. So if you'll remember the end of season two. Do I remember? The most deranged episode of television in history, I would say, that the season two finale of Tell Me Lies, Raina Stop. Like, it's burned into my brain forever. I do not need to rewatch. I, like, can't, even, couldn't believe what happened in one episode of television.
Starting point is 00:20:04 I'm so ready to watch this season. But all of those guys are seniors. So you're like, where is this going to go? Is it the summertime? You guys will know. Yeah, they're not in high school anymore. I'm out. I draw the line in sophomores.
Starting point is 00:20:20 For what I like to watch, you guys know I'm not being creepy. You know, like high school. As opposed to what you like to date? I don't know. So I guess we'll deep dive on this next week. Okay, let's just take a quick break and then we will get back into it. I am telling you guys about AG1. So we really do love it.
Starting point is 00:20:38 I mean, it's a new year. And if sustainable health is part of your goals this year, AG1 is really going to help you with that. Sustainable health is about consistency, not perfection. You can simplify your nutrition with AG1, multivitamin, pre-and probiotics, superfoods, and antioxidants in one scoop. So really, that's all you need. One scoop, eight ounces of water. We like really ice cold water, just stirred or shake it up and you're just going to drink that, drink it first thing before your coffee, before you check your phone. really that's a way to do it as first thing in the morning.
Starting point is 00:21:09 But whatever's best for you, you can stick it into your routine. It will become a micro habit that anchors everything else. And there is the new next-gen formula. They've added more vitamins and minerals than ever clinically proven to fill common nutrient gaps. So, you know, we talk about this a lot and just like women and when you're aging and you really need to take care of yourself and your body and get the nutrients that you could be lacking. And so this is a great way to just get them all in one shot. So there's the original flavor. There's citrus, berry, and tropical.
Starting point is 00:21:38 I like the tropical flavor. I like the original as well. So you can experiment with those. Find what you like. AG1 has over 50,000 verified five-star reviews and comes with a 90-day money-back guarantee. You guys can go to drinkag1.com slash G-G-E to get their best offer. Starting point is 00:22:16 and polished and the prices. Ashley and I talk about them every single day, we literally cannot believe the cost. So if you go on Quins and you watch you some great staples, I love these bella jeans. I post them on my Instagram. It's like the number one link you guys have clicked.
Starting point is 00:22:28 They come in tons of different colors. And also they have soft Mongolian cashmere sweaters in so many. different varieties. So they have cardigans, they have turtlenecks. And I was going through my closet to just kind of get rid of stuff. And I was looking at all of these Mongolian cashmere quince sweaters that I bought like two, three years ago. And they've held up perfect. No pilling, no aging. Yeah, they're perfect. Great colors, lots of sizes and colors available to you guys. They also have great wool coats. And then if you guys are traveling this winter, they have great
Starting point is 00:22:56 luggage, they have bedding, they have jewelry. I mean, we cannot believe the quality and the pricing. So each piece is made with premium materials in ethical, trusted factories, and they really have thought about every detail, so the stitching, the fit, the fabrics. Starting point is 00:23:25 slash G-G-E. Okay, so we're moving into our mom segment of the episode. You know us. We have a couple of moms. Mom group drama and mom talk. So the Ashley Tisdale article in the cut that she wrote kind of an op-ed about her mom group and the fallout with them. We talked about it last week on The Snack, and I did not expect this to continue all week. I mean, we were talking about this yesterday.
Starting point is 00:23:51 She's not an A-lister, super famous celebrity, but she has been around. She has, she is known. She is a celebrity. And so I don't fault her for her for. writing that and sharing her truth, but you kind of have to know that if you're a celebrity of any kind and you write about a friend group breakup, people are going to be like, who are the friends? So you have to kind of expect that that is going to be the immediate thing that people want to know. Who are the moms? Who were the toxic moms? Let's do a quick search of who she used to hang out with.
Starting point is 00:24:24 And now you see it's Hillary Duff and all these people. So like, I just, it's really, I'm not surprised. You're right. I mean, I just was like, where is this going to go? But like, I think people are obsessed with like celebrities acting like they do, you know? And it's like all these girls that were wildly famous at a time. So like Hillary Duff and Mandy Moore and the whole group is famous moms and they're in Hollywood. And of course it was like prime to blow up. And that all, like I will say, I do think that like the message in that article was important about how women need groups. And. I was talking to a friend of ours this morning who's pregnant with her second child, and she was like, having a community around me is the most important thing in the world I want. I want a village around me. You know, we have to do so much. It's really important. So I think it's important to validate those things can be hard to find and they're important to find.
Starting point is 00:25:14 I just, and I will say she did not drag anybody. That wasn't her intention. She didn't like light anybody up at all. But it's crazy to have these pictures available on the internet and think people aren't going to know exactly what you're talking about. And so what happened a couple days later was all the hot. husbands kind of start getting involved. All of them? So Hillary Duff's husband is the one who put out the main, like, statement.
Starting point is 00:25:35 And he basically, so funny. He put out, I thought he did an article with the cut. He wanted to make it seem like, this was just on his story. So Matthew Coma, who's Hillary Duff's husband, posted on his story, this photo of him, was, is it his head on her body? No, I think it was him. Oh, okay. But it said, like, my response, dad's response to the cut, and it said,
Starting point is 00:25:57 I mean, the most self-obsessed, tone-deaf person on earth, other moms tend to shift focus to their actual toddlers. I mean, actually, I have to tell you, I spent 20 minutes looking for this article. And it was vague. Yeah, so it's, yeah, I know, it's kind of hard if you're having trouble falling along. It's a little confusing. I mean, bottom line is he just called Ashley Tisdale, self-obsessed. Self-obsessed, tone-deaf, yeah. Yeah, like basically saying she was the problem in the mom group.
Starting point is 00:26:21 Yeah. Defending his wife. I don't know. I always have mixed feelings of, a male partner jumping in. They're all kind of trading like light shade now. You know, Megan Traynor and Mandy Moore and lightshade. Well, Megan Traynor posted a TikTok that was like,
Starting point is 00:26:36 I don't know what's going on, basically. She kind of was, I want to be excluded from this narrative vibes. Her husband was like, all good over here. Yeah, so it's mainly Hillary Duff's the husband, which does make you think Hillary Duff was the ringleader of all this shit. Which we called, which we did, because Megan Traynor was like, leave me out of this shit. And then Mandy Moore, we were talking about her last.
Starting point is 00:26:56 night when we were hanging out with some friends like she what last year on the fires she was super toned up about stuff like i don't know like whatever but it's it's i'm just having fun watching you know like because this is no one's getting heard and i mean people's feelings i guess but it's fascinating to watch i guess it's kind of short-sighted of actually tisdill to think i'm gonna make this very public statement yeah and these photos are publicly available and no one's gonna say anything like i don't blame people for wanting to defend themselves publicly yeah you're like making comments not being this mean girl and it's very clear that you're talking about me. Yeah. But the husband's getting involved. I don't know. I just, I think it's well-intentioned. I think people are like,
Starting point is 00:27:34 you publicly dragged my wife and I would like to stand up for her. I think it's well-intentioned. But I just feel like it adds unnecessary fuel to the fire. Like I want my partner to back me up in private and let me speak in public. I'm with you. I think it makes it look worse for Hillary Duff. I think it makes her look like she was the ringleader. Like if this happened to us and someone left the friend group and wrote this thing and people figured out it was about us. I think I'd let it lie. I think I'd be like as a person, if you've followed along and you consume our content, you know, what kind of friend I am, you know, like people feel excluded for various reasons. Again, I'm not saying, I don't know what went on behind closed doors and I just feel for anyone
Starting point is 00:28:17 who feels like Ashley Tisdale feels, but maybe she was a problem. Who's to say? I said this last week. Maybe she was annoying. But I just wouldn't, I'd be like, I don't care. Like if people, some people in the or saying like Ashley and Rainer were are mean and excluded somebody. It's like, I just don't think I'd feel the need to respond. I'd be like, this is beneath me. Yeah, it's beneath me. And like, I'm just going to be over here living my life. And y'all don't know.
Starting point is 00:28:39 And I don't know. I don't think it would bother me that much unless, of course, someone named me by name and said things that I weren't true. I don't know. I think to me, like a partner gets involved, like escalates the conflict. It's a pile on. Like, that's not the primary relationship at play here. I don't, I would be embarrassed if my partner.
Starting point is 00:28:56 did that. Yeah. 100%. Yeah. So let me just, that is my final answer. It's like I would be like, babe,
Starting point is 00:29:02 do not stop. This looks so petty. Like, let's not roll around in the mud. Looks like I sanctioned this, but she probably did. I knew Hillary be the leader of that shit. And I hope they make up for one,
Starting point is 00:29:17 because I told you, I think that they should play us in like a movie about our lives. Ashley Tisdell's you and Hillary does me. I know. I hope they make up so they can do our movie. It's like nobody wants this, but with the cast. Yes.
Starting point is 00:29:31 So that's what's going on with the toxic mom group. So let's move on to mom talk. The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives. So I don't want to go too hard because this show has been over for months. But I, Vrana, I'm almost done with season three. I only have a few episodes left. So I'm really sorry that I couldn't finish before this.
Starting point is 00:29:49 But I really just, we got to get this out of the way. We got to, I just need to be foaming at the mouth. I know you need it. But I'm pretty proud of myself. It's, it's, it's, this was my New Year's goal and it's January 12th as we record and I'm almost done. And I feel like you and our other friend, Anushka, we're like, you can't start now. And I'm like, watch me. Watch me.
Starting point is 00:30:09 People have been telling you to watch this. You got a little testy yesterday when I said people, people have been telling you to watch this for years. I had a really busy year last year. You couldn't add it to your plate. So this isn't my favorite show. Oh, it's so weird. I don't tell you. I, um, first of all, I think that these streaming platforms do reality so well.
Starting point is 00:30:30 You know, I was never a Bravo girly. I never got into housewives. And there's various reasons, but just the way things are shot, they're beautiful, the way they're edited, the opening song with the montage. Like, I'm so into it. We said that about the Kardashians. When they moved over to Hulu, it just looked better. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:30:44 But, I mean, this is really, like, to watch the show straight and watch it evolve in one sitting, basically, in a two-week period is what a treat. It's just a different experience. than you're going to have when you're watching it live. And it really is like my comfort show. Like I was feeling kind of down the other night and I put it on. Like I just felt better. Like these,
Starting point is 00:31:01 my family. I mean, I'm fascinated with Mormon culture. Like, and that's why I was saying like, you know, when I go to, when I performed in Salt Lake,
Starting point is 00:31:09 like I talk about Mormon stuff. Like I'm fascinated to so many things about the culture. I'm fascinated by the loopholes. I'm fascinated by soaking and docking and all the ways they get around sex. And some of the other stuff, like they can't drink coffee, but they can put it in their but holes. Like, you can do a coffee enema, but you can't drink coffee, you can't drink coffee,
Starting point is 00:31:27 but you can mainline Mountain Dew. You can't drink alcohol, but you can get Botox and Laughing Gas. Like, I find these things fascinating to watch. And, I mean, there are really dark themes. I mean, so many of these women have been abused or sexually assaulted. And, you know, I find some of their stories so powerful and their strength so powerful. And overall, it is an empowering show for women. I mean, do people say it's not?
Starting point is 00:31:54 No, I mean, I think that... Because they're trying to be. They talk about it a lot. They're like, we're trying to empower women. That is our goal within mom talk. And I wondered if there was like a discourse of being like, oh, please. I've never seen that. It is funny when they say mom talk is to empower other people.
Starting point is 00:32:10 And it's like, all you guys are doing is voiceovers and dances. So like, there's a lot and also ripping each other to shreds on the internet. So it's sort of funny to listen to that all the time. They're like, this is how a Mon Talk stands for. But yes, I mean, the first season you see this show where like these women have been like really deeply negatively affected by men and religion and the community they've grown up in and yes they have been really like held down and the attitudes about sex and working like are so backwards to me and it's unfortunate what these women have had to go through but like over three
Starting point is 00:32:40 seasons you see them every single one is the breadwinner they all have businesses they have written books and started new companies and like watching like i know that like Whitney has had like ups and down throughout the show. But the first season, she's talking to her mom about, like, using a vibrator. And it's like, that's a huge barrier that she has broken for other women in these cultures. Yes, that's the overall thing. And yes, TikToks and dancing and voiceovers, but it's, it is so much more than that what they're doing and showing women that you can be and you can break free of these barriers and the church. I mean, they're all on a spectrum too. And some, some do drink and obviously sex out of wedlock and all that stuff. And it's like,
Starting point is 00:33:18 you're watching it trying to figure out, are they going to church? Not really, right? Like some of them sort of identify as Mormon, but not, I mean, there's a spectrum on the whole show, I feel like. There's a big buffet. But they all still do identify as Mormon? I think it's sort of, I mean, I don't know. So like growing up in a very Jewish community in Pittsburgh,
Starting point is 00:33:36 like part of my life and my identity of being Jewish was religious based, but more of my identity being Jewish was just more about, like, being in the community and around other people and there's certain ideals about being a Jew. It was less about like you have to go to synagogue at these days and time. So I don't know if being Mormon is a little similar. It's just like the whole community is similar. Yeah, I get that.
Starting point is 00:33:58 I think the biggest thing for me was I didn't know what to expect for any of these women, like namely Taylor Frankie Paul. So I had never, I don't know, I just, I don't watch the show. So I was never consuming content. I don't even know if I'd ever seen her in an interview. What I thought about her, I thought that she was going to be this leader, this baddie, like this super confident person. And like season one is this like tortured, unheeled young woman with two children and
Starting point is 00:34:27 another one on the way. And she can't seem to regulate her emotions. And she has so much trauma. She's not self-assured. She's not confident. She's only an enemy to herself. She's not like, I kept thinking like she's an enemy to no one but herself. And I was like, is she ever going to fall into like a leader role?
Starting point is 00:34:45 I thought she was the ringleader of the whole thing. And yes, she kind of did start it technically. But I didn't think she would. I was like, this woman has no self-assurance. And I feel like to watch her growth. I just love her so much. Like, I know. Like she just, I think she acts out sometimes too,
Starting point is 00:35:02 but she truly seems to embody this due unto others as you want done unto you. And she's constantly the only one that's really like, I didn't like when this happened to me and I'm not going to do it to you. Like I love watching her. I mean, her relationship's fucked up. But, you know, it is what it is. I like watching her with her mom. I like when the mom gets involved and fucking shows up on her behalf and calls people.
Starting point is 00:35:21 I just, like, love her so much. And the way that I've watched this and binge this, the way that my feelings have changed on these people, like... Told you just going to be a roller coaster. To me, I loved her season one. I don't think I've ever loathed a character this much since Christine Quinn, Raina.
Starting point is 00:35:40 Is she the worst villain on reality TV? She is... So hateable. I mean, it's not just... I love that we're talking about this after the show's over. Demi, to me, is such a villain because she has accused people of very terrible things that are horrifying things that actually other women have gone through, like physical assault and sexual assault.
Starting point is 00:35:59 And I'm not saying that maybe those things haven't happened to her. I have no idea to make very public statements about people's other people's, I mean, fathers. I mean, she said Chase put his hands on me. That's the father of somebody's children. Like, to accuse people of doing these things, assaulting you, it's, it's highly unethical. It lacks a moral compass.
Starting point is 00:36:19 I don't understand it. Yeah, she's awful. And I knew that was going to happen, but I was like, when's it going to happen? And then you see it start to happen, obviously in season two. And Raina,
Starting point is 00:36:28 I've never seen a redemption arc like Zach. I couldn't even watch him season one. I couldn't watch him. I was like, I hate this person so much. I get him off my TV. And you were like, he'll, he'll, there's going to be a redemption arc. And I was like, I will not believe it.
Starting point is 00:36:42 Even season two, I was like, wait. Is he the best husband? Is he the best dad talk? He just like cools that, cools down. Did therapy? I mean, they worked out their shit. And I also listen, I don't, I think that, you know, the stuff that you do is your responsibility, but like you forget that these people, I mean, he was 22 years old when they
Starting point is 00:37:03 started filming that show. He was a kid. They're ages. And he was, he was brought up in the Mormon church around people that said, like, this is how women should be. And this is how men should be. And I think he just grew up. I don't know.
Starting point is 00:37:14 I love them. I love them. I don't, she's, I mean, I just, I'm a fan of them as a unit. Okay, now I'm going to do my power ranking and then we'll call it. Okay, so I just, I'm curious if you're going to align with me. Yeah, listen, I couldn't be more thrilled that you finally got into Mormon wives. Okay, should I go from my fave to my least favor? Should I start the bottom?
Starting point is 00:37:33 I think you started the bottom. And I do want to say about Taylor, she is still the most famous. And she is the one that, like, did all these interviews and put herself out there and made all these TikToks about, like, her marriage ending. and having these, like, this open marriage and these orgies and stuff. So, like, I think that, like, people, this idea of her as being, like, a batty and, like, plenty people in their place. But really, she's just the most famous and she started all this. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:37:55 Yeah. Like, this is because of her. Yes. Which Demi just didn't seem to recognize. Yeah. Debe is really crazy. Okay. Bottom.
Starting point is 00:38:04 Demi. Sure. Obviously. Second least fave, Whitney. Okay. Am I, is that every, don't we all agree? Well, so she, it was really fascinating because people hate her so much. of Martin wise, but such a huge character arc on Dancing with the Stars.
Starting point is 00:38:17 But people don't hate her as much because she is just like, I am what I am, and I'm honest about what I am. I just, there's so many things about her. She's so martyry victimy. I don't know. There's just like, I just can't. Like, oh, oh, my God. Like, I just can't.
Starting point is 00:38:30 Okay. Next, again, up from here, I don't have a problem with these people. I just had to rank them. So then we get into Jen. I feel for Jen. Yeah, just in the middle. Miranda, just fine. Fine.
Starting point is 00:38:42 Okay. Well, she doesn't really have a story. Yeah, exactly. She's there because she had sex with Taylor. Okay, now you're in my top five. Okay, so fifth, Layla, I like Layla. I've liked watching her growth. I just, I don't, she's really, she feels, she feels really young to me.
Starting point is 00:38:54 Yeah, she is really young. But obviously I'm fine with her. Next, we have Michaela. She's in my fourth slot. Third slot, see, the top three, I'm curious if you're going to align with me. But my third fave changed a little bit. It's Macy. Oh, because you really rode so hard for Macy.
Starting point is 00:39:08 I did. I really rode so hard for Macy. And she's an unproblematic queen and I love her and I cry with the stuff with her. former partner that died and all that. Second is Taylor, Frankie Fall. Oh, okay. We're giving Jesse the number one spot. My favorite Mormon wife is Jesse.
Starting point is 00:39:27 I wish you would have seen when her and to me were going back and forth dozens of story slides. It was all day, every day. Like, you missed. Did it make you think different? No, it made me think, like, this is just amazing to watch. Okay. That's my queen.
Starting point is 00:39:43 and she really was not. When she was besties, but to me, she wasn't. But when she cut to me off, I think she's so honest and she's the baddest business woman of them all.
Starting point is 00:39:54 And she's got her hair empire. And she just feels really smart and well-spoken. And I feel for her. She's like, insecure about her looks. I'm like, you're so hot.
Starting point is 00:40:01 And, you know, I wish we would have met her at Lady World because she was there. And I didn't know her then. I didn't know she was my queen. Okay. I don't disagree. I love all these women.
Starting point is 00:40:11 I mean, I think that they're really, brave. I think that the stuff that they admit on national television has like changed other women's lives to talk about like the struggles in their marriages, the verbal abuse in their marriages, the sexual abuse they've experienced. Like what these women have gone through and then they will talk about on national television is like so important to other women. And I think I'm like who would I be friends with? And Jesse just seems she is one of the older ones. She's in her 30s, but she just seems older. Well who's your top three faves? I think those are my top three. I don't know who else. it would be. I mean, I just like, I love, I love Taylor. I root for all of them, honestly, except for me. Okay. Well, I'm going to finish season three. Shishang's been watching. He's involved. He says the funniest stuff. Like, he'll say stuff and I'm like, I wish I could capture that and we are not that kind of couple for him to redo it. But the stuff he says just naturally. And what he's been saying recently, just all the time about everything, he's just like,
Starting point is 00:41:08 women are so sick. Women are so sick. Like, he just says it all the time. Like, the way we communicate, like, all... He just is like women are just the best. Like, he's never not just, I don't know, amazed by us, but I like when he, like, the way he would talk about that show, he's like, these guys, how are they treating their partners like this? They're, like, there are the breadwinners and their babes. Like, what are these guys thinking?
Starting point is 00:41:30 It's actually pretty crazy. Yeah. It's really crazy to watch. All right. Well, I'm glad that you're involved in my show. So am I going to, am I going to stay like this through the end? Forever until the end of the end of time? No, like nothing's going to change in the last few episodes.
Starting point is 00:41:44 Like, we're going to kind of stay in this like... Oh, yeah. In terms of who I like and everything. I'm not going to turn on any of my faves. Oh, no. Taylor, if anything, becomes even nicer. She's more inclusive of people and she seems like, yeah, you will... You're going to see Dakota do something really terrible to her, but other than that.
Starting point is 00:42:00 Okay. All right. I'm not like a Dakota apologist, but... You don't see these guys act that bad on TV. Yes. They really... They come across... I don't, like, Jesse's...
Starting point is 00:42:12 whatever his name is. Jordan. But the other ones, like, don't come across that poorly. I know it's, like, behind closed doors. Well, Jordan and Dakota are the ones that are so bad behind closed doors, and they're just, like, liars, and they're so manipulative, and they're so toxic. And so in interviews, like, they did one together, Jordan and Jesse, and she was talking about how he, like,
Starting point is 00:42:30 recorded stuff about her having an affair with Marciano and was threatening to blackmail her. And every time she would say something he didn't like, he was like, don't make me press this button and send it out and that kind of stuff. Like, really manipulative, sick stuff. Dakota has, like, cheated on Taylor a lot, and he's really manipulative and lies to her a lot and gaslights her. I feel like I'm a Macy's husband kind of gal. Like, I just feel like he really helped her heal from...
Starting point is 00:42:53 He doesn't bother anybody. Exactly. Doesn't bother anyone. He's tall. He's not bad, look it. He's cute. He's never done anything wrong. Jordan is Timu Spencer Pratt.
Starting point is 00:43:04 Wow. He does look like Spencer. That's his energy. That's crazy. Like our future mayor? Stop, don't. Okay. All right.
Starting point is 00:43:12 Well, we'll do some headlines and we'll send you guys back out into the world. Okay. Right now, I feel so bad that I just sat here and did that for less 15 minutes. I told you not to. I asked you not to do this. Do what? Talk so long about this. But it's my favorite reality show.
Starting point is 00:43:29 There's never, there has never been another one this good. You didn't ask me not to. I said I wouldn't and you said, okay. Maybe in my mind I thought that. Now an hour later. It's my favorite reality show. I love these women. I love what they've done.
Starting point is 00:43:42 I think it's so brilliant. I hope it never ends. Okay. Rain is going to talk for the whole rest of the episode about all these headlines. That sounds so bad. Okay. Okay. So actually, this has been an ongoing story, and we did not talk about it before, but Haley Kaleel, who is Haley Bailey on Instagram.
Starting point is 00:43:59 She basically made public statements about her ex-husband, Matt Kahlil, having an enormous member. She said it was the size of two Coke cans that they basically saw, like, doctors to figure out, like, how she could possibly fit that inside of her. She's a huge Instagram following. She's millions of followers. So this did go out to a lot of people. Yeah. Yeah. He's six years in NFL. He played for the Vikings for the Panthers. If you guys are curious, like who these people are. And she's like an influencer type person. I mean, again, these aren't people that I knew about before this came out. But I'm like, oh, I'm invested now. She's saying, I mean, she said they couldn't have sex. And it was a problem. I think it's interesting they got married. You know that you can't, you know the size of the dick.
Starting point is 00:44:40 You know, it's like they waited until their wedding night. So basically now he's pushing back. So he is suing her for like defamation essentially. He said it's created unwanted attention and invasive commentary from the public. His family members have been forced to endure ongoing public circulation of these degrading and deeply personal statements. So, okay. My question is, did he wrong her? You know, like, I don't know what happened in this relationship.
Starting point is 00:45:09 like if I ended a relationship on good terms, I don't think I'd want you running your mouth about how type my pussy is. I mean, maybe I would. I just, I don't think I want you talking about my body no matter what. And not everything is what if women, what if men, but I'm just saying like I think he has a point if they ended on a,
Starting point is 00:45:29 in a good place. Like it, I don't, it's not vengeful because it's like a compliment, but it's like I can see where he's like, can you stop talking about my, my dick? Like I thought we were cool, but maybe they weren't cool. I actually, I don't know.
Starting point is 00:45:42 I can't speak to it. I, um, I have followed along with her for a long time. I like her content. Yeah. She is silly. She's smart. She's really funny. She's self deprecating very much.
Starting point is 00:45:50 Like, it is very much in line with her content that she would be like, my ex-husband's dick was so big. I couldn't take it. Like, yeah. That being said, you're also welcome on the other side of things to say, I would like you to not talk about my private, my private part. He's remarried. He has a child with somebody else.
Starting point is 00:46:06 Oh, really? Yeah. So I, I can see. I can see anybody, yes, this is the most like, but what if a man did this? The argument is the most I've ever seen for like, you know, if anybody talked about anybody's body publicly, they wouldn't like it.
Starting point is 00:46:19 Yes, it's just like it's complimentary in societal norms to have a big dick. You know what I mean? Like, it's not like she said he had a small dick. That's totally different. Yeah. So I can't decide. Like, again, I'm not familiar with her content. If you married me and we,
Starting point is 00:46:38 We couldn't fuck because your dick was too big and we got divorced. You would know, I'm a comedian. You would know that that's going to be the headline. I'm going on every podcast I'm talking about it. Name your next special too big. Yes, you know what you signed up. Two co-cans. You know what you signed up for.
Starting point is 00:46:51 So I don't know. It's like, should he just, I don't know. I don't know her intention because it's not an insult, but she's still talking about his body. So it's, I don't think I find it pretty interesting. It's just, I don't know how much are we allowed to speak about our previous relationships. because, like, I guess you could also defend it by saying, like, well, people were asking me what the problem was.
Starting point is 00:47:11 That was the problem. I'm not calling him an abuser. I'm not saying he cheated on me. I'm saying, like, physically, we couldn't get the job done. Yeah, I guess he's just like, God, like, my mom is asking me. Like, I think he's just embarrassed. I'm not defending him. I have no idea what went on in their relationship,
Starting point is 00:47:29 but I just wish I could get inside of her head. Like, how did this end? Because I just feel like if things ended amicably, you typically don't bring up. those intimate details. I wonder if somebody's just like, I don't feel like I'm insulting you, but you're also welcome to be insulted,
Starting point is 00:47:43 you know? Like, she's like, wait, I'm out here hyping you and you're giant cock. Like, I can also see her being like, wait, what? You're suing me? You should be paying me. Like, also this is one of those things, like if you didn't make this a thing,
Starting point is 00:47:59 I mean, he's not, he was obviously an NFL player for a long time. He's not Tom Brady. Yeah. Like, if he didn't start, If he didn't start no shit, there would be no shit. Okay. Okay, so she basically claims she's exercising sexual sovereignty by truthfully describing
Starting point is 00:48:13 a sexual experience. Yeah. And again, it's not a sexual experience that paints him. I mean, he's welcome. You're going to get sued for this. You better learn up on sexual sovereignty right now. It's like, sexual sovereignty. Remember it for the tour.
Starting point is 00:48:34 I have talked. I'm talking about a couple of people. one that will specifically sue me immediately. So I have changed a bunch of details. You got a lawyer up. Change a bunch of details. You're talk to Haley Bailey and get her legal team. I only drag one person sexually and there's no way to know who that is.
Starting point is 00:48:51 And it's not even like dragging him. It's just like a little, a little light day. Yeah. Okay. Should we move on? Yeah. To Dax Shepherd and Kristen Bell and Cher, the trio you didn't see coming. And basically, Cher went on their podcast or she went on a podcast or she went
Starting point is 00:49:06 an armchair expert and just kind of through a dig, like maybe Kristen sees something I don't see. Like, I don't think you're good enough for her kind of vibes. And it was lighter than that. You know, of course, the media is going to pull these headlines and make it sound like it was scathing. But it felt lighter in the room. I watched the clip. And then he has since been asked about on the red carpet and he was like laughed it off. But we wanted to talk about it because I get served a lot of content on Kristen and Kristen Bell and Dax Shepherd. And I think more since that post she posted were about him killing her and stuff than I think I was. is getting served it more.
Starting point is 00:49:38 And I think people just kind of started to turn on them as a couple. I never really had any feelings about them. I thought they were kind of weird. They would talk about not bathing their kids and they would overshare and I didn't care and I just didn't really care about them. But the more I get served stuff about them, the more he really, really, really, really really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, you're not, like, into him?
Starting point is 00:49:55 He's just so arrogant. Like, the way they speak about their relationship. Like, I watched this. People really hated his interview with Jonathan Van Ness. He really was, like, harassing him about trans people and rights and things like. that people kind of turned on him there like he just doesn't come across like a good guy and when they talk about their relationship i saw this one clip of her talking about their relationship and she said we don't really we hardly ever agree on anything and i was like that sounds like hell
Starting point is 00:50:20 that sounds like actual hell your your spouse the person you spend all your time with you live with you just don't usually agree on anything like i think typically you want somebody you agree on most things and the things you don't you work through them like they're that couple that's like marriage is so hard and it's an uphill battle and it's torture every day, but I love you. Like they're the epitome of that. And the way he talks about her, he's like, I didn't really know if I wanted to be with her at first. Like he talks about their relationship like he's the prize and I hate that.
Starting point is 00:50:48 And whatever he looks like recently is like no longer like quirky Dax Shepherd. He looks like scary to me. I guess I digest it a little differently. Oh, okay. He actually took Cher's comments pretty seriously in the interview who wanted to like dig in and really like unearth what she meant, what she was talking about. He ends it by saying, I think. I'll tell you the thing that you should like about me.
Starting point is 00:51:06 I'm not threatened by her shining. I love it. The shinier she gets the better. So fine, that's nice. I wonder if they're just the kind of couple that suffers from this. These things are funny privately between the two of you. Do not read funny in public. And like that whole comment about like I didn't, what was it about him murder?
Starting point is 00:51:25 Like I didn't strangle you and people should congratulate me. Yeah. Like I'm incentivized to kill you, but I'm not going to. Yeah. You know, we thought that was like a dark joke. Like it was poorly timed and it was a kind of a mess. But I just don't like what I've been seeing. I think he really thinks he is the prize and the way they talk about the relationship.
Starting point is 00:51:41 But just it couldn't be me. Like the way they talk about, they black out when they fight and they fight all the time and it's so hard. And I mean, I guess it probably makes people feel seen, but it sounds toxic. Yeah, you just don't see people really like talking about their private relationships like this. Yeah. And I think that they make jokes that are supposed to are funny and private and maybe to their friends who like know that they really do love each other if that's the case. if that's the case. Like, they don't digest it like that.
Starting point is 00:52:07 And so you think it's funny on a public platform. But like all people hear is you kind of dragging your wife or saying how hard the relationship is or that you guys, what was it? They said they don't shower. They didn't bathe their kids until they start to smell or whatever. Whatever you know what to do with your own kids is your business. But yeah, the way they parent, people to criticize. But I don't know.
Starting point is 00:52:27 He really icks me out now. He looks a good, like, scary villain, like cartoon dog. And he's like really jacked. I don't know. I used to think he was like quirky and funny. And people still like them. I saw a post of him yesterday and people were like, oh, mom and dad. Like people still ride for them.
Starting point is 00:52:44 But I think people have seen things they really don't like. And especially with the Jonathan Van Ness interview and various things that are like, he's just not what we thought he was. But, you know, whatever. I can see, I mean, I just, I don't think people publicly enjoy watching anybody even sort of say something negative about their partner.
Starting point is 00:53:01 It didn't need to be said. Yeah. What's the point of this? I understand. saying behind closed doors, we all can be self-deprecating and shit on our partners. And it's hard to be with somebody for a long time. It's hard to have kids with somebody. It's annoying.
Starting point is 00:53:12 Men are annoying. But I don't know. You just don't see people make public comments without a lot of context around. Like, what's the point of this? Yeah. What are we doing here? Yeah. So I stand with Cher.
Starting point is 00:53:21 And always. Okay. And Spencer Pratt is running for mayor. Is he really? Yeah. He really is. Of Los Angeles. Of Los Angeles.
Starting point is 00:53:32 He, I guess, I mean, what's his dad? name. He's a registered Republican. So he's a registered Republican. However, he said, there's nothing about me you're ever going to find that you didn't know. I mean, you can find every piece of information about me on the internet. I am a registered Republican. I'm going to run as nonpartisan. And I really like that he said that. I like that you really, oh, are you in support of this? Who cares? You know, who cares? You know, what? People have issues with the mayor. I don't know. I don't need to get into California politics right now. I mean, I think everything is a shit show. So I don't know. Who
Starting point is 00:54:03 fucking cares at this point. I mean, I care. I live here. But he said it's a nonpartisan race. I won't be Democratic or Republican. I will serve either party. I will only work with anyone who wants to help the city. No labels necessary. I love that message. Okay. I think we need more of that today. More nonpartisan unity.
Starting point is 00:54:20 I don't know enough. So I'll do my own research on this one and get back to you guys. I just haven't seen him speak about it. I haven't read enough thing pieces about it. TikTok hasn't told me what I think yet. Right. Read a book. Watch a TikTok. So anyway, that's what's... Do I really... I don't know.
Starting point is 00:54:36 Who's to say? Everything's a mess. I don't fucking know. Okay. Well, we'll keep you guys posted that's gonna be our next mayor. I'm not crazy about our current mayor, so...
Starting point is 00:54:46 But I'm not saying I'm in support Spencer Pratt either. Should we run? Maybe we'll run. Yeah, we should run. We should co-run. That'd be so fun. I don't know. I don't want another job.
Starting point is 00:54:56 I don't really want another job. Yeah, that's fair. You be the mayor. I could be like the co-maier. Yeah, that's cute. Like the first lady. of mayor. Okay.
Starting point is 00:55:04 I could like pick the cabinet and we could like pick each other's outfits. That'll be fun. Well, we are just going to close with something a little more serious. We are talking about politics, but you posted something really meaningful and beautiful about the execution of Renee Good in Minneapolis. And it's just, it's been on our minds a lot. You know, I, we have a huge audience in Minneapolis. We know a lot of our audience is affecting.
Starting point is 00:55:31 by this and scared about people in their community and people that you know and these are really scary times. And I like what you posted because you put at least a little positive spin at the end and people reaching out and helping in their community. But what happened to this woman was deeply appalling. It's frightening. It raised a lot of really painful questions about how power is being used and what people are, who gets to be defended. I'm glad this was filmed. I'm glad this was filmed and put on the internet because everybody should see the evil that is happening in this country. It was hard to watch. I certainly would never watch a person shoot another person, but I think it's important to know what is happening in this country. And, you know, what makes
Starting point is 00:56:11 this really disturbing is the administration's response and their willingness to just invent excuses and lies and make up fake narratives. And, you know, I thought we were so mad at all these other politicians. The emails, Hillary's emails, and now this, this is being defended. It's, It's sick. It's horrible. It's on my mind. Constantly, it just, it's really upsetting and there's a lot of dishonesty. And we want our audience and people in these communities to feel safe. That's what your government is supposed to do for you. That's what the policies that you vote for are supposed to contribute to. And it just, we just wanted to offer our love and our support and whatever we can. And I, I'm an American. I love being able to be an American. I love that we can use this platform to shit on the administration. and talk about the president. I love that we don't live in other communities in other nations where they're going to shut the internet off. You know what?
Starting point is 00:57:02 I'm glad to live in an environment where I can still talk about these things and that's not lost on me either. But this stuff is just always on our minds and I don't know if you want to like speak about what you said and I just I really liked it because I think so much that I think and feel is just negative and I'm so angry and it's important to remember
Starting point is 00:57:20 that like you have community and people are doing the right thing sometimes. Yeah. You guys can go watch. I mean, it's the lengthiest thing I've ever posted. I spent a lot of time on it, like, you know, writing it out and getting my, and organizing my thoughts. It's just on my Instagram, Ash Hess.
Starting point is 00:57:36 It's a four-minute watch. So I think I said mostly of what I wanted to say in that. We are underreacting to what's happening in this country. I don't even know. It's like hearing your words, like you're absolutely right, but it's not enough. Like, there's no words truly to understand. Like, I can't believe what we're seeing. And humanity, I don't know where people have just lost it completely.
Starting point is 00:57:55 people used to die and it didn't matter what side they were on. Our administration would speak about it differently. Those days are gone. What we're seeing is sick. Like the propaganda and the lies from the administration, I feel like they don't care anymore, you know, that they're lying in your face. And it feels like justice will not be served
Starting point is 00:58:15 and this is not America. And we're just going to be killed at the hands of our government. And they let one thing like this happen. There's just going to be more. And it's terrifying. And yeah, I posted about keeping hope alive. And I really believe that. I really believe the good outweighs the bad.
Starting point is 00:58:29 I really do. I think we're going to get through this. I just want to survive it. But it is so bleak. And so just, you know, take care of each other. And we're thinking of everyone in Minneapolis and all the cities that are being terrorized, including our own. There's so much you don't see that's happening. And that's not in the news.
Starting point is 00:58:49 And that's, I don't know. I'm just got a loss. So anyway. Yeah. So we don't want to end the episode on a negative note, but this is on our minds, and it's not lost to me that I, like, posted this thing last week. Like, buy tickets in Minneapolis. And, you know, our audience is always on our mind, these people in these communities that are being terrorized that have children that they're afraid for. And now, like, an American citizen was shot in her car executed.
Starting point is 00:59:13 So it would be crazy to not have to not acknowledge it in some way. Yeah. Anyway, I just got, like, all worked up. We just, we always want to be a voice that you know, like, we'll speak out. and we are grateful that we can do that. We'll always do that for you guys. As long as we can. As long as we can.
