00:00 Hey, Lady Gang, it's Becca. We are conducting a short survey, and if you do take it, you are entered to win an epic giveaway. You can see the giveaway over on our socials as well as get the link for the survey itself. Head on over there. We appreciate your time so much, and good luck. It's a crazy giveaway. Well, what is this? Welcome to the Lady Gang. That's amazing. Say that again. The Lady Gang. Things are about to change around here. Each week, we catch up with Hollywood's hottest girl podcast.
00:31 Kelsey Keltie Knight, Becca Tobin, and Jack Vannick. Hello, hello, hello. Welcome to Lady Gang. I'm Becky Tumann. I'm Jack Fannick and Kelty Night. Hello. Hi. Hello, everyone. Welcome to the Lady Gang podcast. Hello. It's us yet again. It is I. It's been a big week, so I'm excited for Good Week, Bad Week. So shall we?
00:57 Yes, do it. Okay, it's time for... Good Week. Bad week. Oh no. Okay, I'll start. My bad week. I recently went to ACL. It's the music festival in Austin. Such a fun experience. I've gone almost every year that I've lived here. I think I miss like one year. And it's just I usually do one day into the night. That's it. It's all I can handle. It's also very freaking hot and dusty. I'm old and I'm delicate. So we go with friends. Zach and I go with friends. And the very final performance of the night, it's a, I believe it's like a 915 to 1015 or 930 to 1030. I think it ends at like 1030. And it's Rufus DeSalle, which is a very like, I love Rufus DeSole.
01:49 You know, vibey, clubby. It's not singer-songwriter. It's not country. It's like, I don't even know what that genre is. No, it's not Cam. It's, um, I mean, like it's like a D. I don't know. I actually, DJ-ish.
02:01 DJ. DJ. Play instruments and sing. Yeah, vibe. Yeah, vibe. But I would say that a lot of the people that are at that show are, first of all, going on drink number 25 because it's the end of the long day. Maybe some extracurricular recreational things, adult candy, if you will. And so it's mostly adults, right?
02:27 It's also quite late. But people do bring kids to the festival during the day. It's really cute for the kids during the day. They have like a little kidchella area. It's not kid chella, but like it's like that. So I'm having the best day. It's such a good day. And then finally we walk over to Rufus and it's me and my friend.
02:43 And as soon as I start to enjoy myself, I look over and there's a man with one of those backpacks where his baby is like sitting on his shoulders. But it's like a supported shoulder. backpack. I don't know if I've ever seen one of these. I've seen it when people have been camping with small children because it's when a kid is too little to hold themselves up, like a baby, there's a back to the chair, but they're still on the, you know. So this baby is probably six to seven months old.
03:22 It's 9.30 at night. He's next to the speaker. He does have the headphones on, but the headphones are to muffle noise for like the toddlers, not infants. Yeah. And the kid is dressed up like a Christmas tree. Like lit up, like lit up wristbands, a light up thing. Like so this whole thing, I mean this to say like this whole thing was pre-planned, right?
03:44 He's like, I'm taking my baby to Rufus DeSole at ACL. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. And he's going to wear these light up things and he was taking pictures. Maybe he was conceived to Rufus DeSoll. We don't know. Maybe he was. But then he's like taking all these pictures with drunk people who are like, oh my God, it's a baby. It's like the baby from the hangover where the baby's in a place that's not supposed to be and drunk people think it's so funny.
04:04 As a mother, I'm sitting there. The guy is jumping up and down with this baby. Jumping, jumping, jumping. The baby's eyes are wide open. Meanwhile, if this baby's tired, it's not a stroller. It's seated upright. So if he's tired, he can't sleep. He can maybe close his eyes like weekend at Bernice, but there's no way for this child.
04:22 And also when this kid, this guy's by, there's no one around this guy that's his friend, his wife has nothing. if this kid something happens to the kid above him he does not see the kid he has no eyes on this child up on his shoulders and I just kept staring and my friend's like are you do you have to say something is are you going to feel better if you can say something and I said yeah I am I'm gonna I'm gonna say something because this is once you're a mother to one child you're a mother to all children and I walked up and I was like hey and he thought I wanted to like take a picture he was so excited for me to come over and talk to him and I go hey you really should be really should not be bouncing up in town with your baby like that. He looks really uncomfortable. And actually,
05:01 he probably shouldn't be here at all. And he just like looks at me, like stunned. And I walked away. And I'm like, you know what? If anything, he might not have changed the thing, but at least I planted a seed in the back of his head to stop jumping up and down with an infant. And maybe he should see like a normal looking woman telling him, this isn't the best idea to have your kid here. And maybe he'll think twice about it. I don't know. Maybe the guilt will come in. I have no idea. But it was like the most. disturbing thing I've ever seen. Yeah, I feel like we're being a little bit too lenient about like the age of which we're letting kids into festivals. Yeah. That's crazy. It's also, if you have money to buy a ticket to go see Rufus DeSoul at ACL, you also have money to get a babysitter. But he
05:45 brought this kid as a prop. He wanted it as an accessory. He's a prop. And so my goal now is to find the guy on Instagram because he was passing out something like his Instagram handle or something to people around him. This is the schstick. It's a DJ baby. He's trying to like get famous. And it's really like it was, it made me so mad. And every mom there, you could tell every person there that was a mom was like having a fun time and then they see this baby and everyone just starts, stops and stairs. And nobody knows what to do because it's like it's not your baby. It's not really your business. But it's also like, not my baby, not my business. It's everybody's baby. But it's it's the world's baby. And it was the saddest thing I've ever seen you guys.
06:28 He was like slumped over with headphones on and like light up wristbands and like shaking and bouncing up and down. And I at 9.30 at night, I'm like, I had to leave. We couldn't enjoy. I couldn't enjoy. We left. We literally walked and got pizza and we fucking left. Oh, no. Yeah.
06:47 So I'm going to find him. I bet you the lady gang can find him on Instagram. Oh, if anyone can find it, detectives gone. Yeah. Absolutely. Ready. Okay, my good week is that there's the Lady Gang Facebook group is just, we know it's wonderful, it's amazing.
07:03 But there's a girl in there who sells feet picks online. And she's been advising some of our girls in how to break into the biz, how to operate within the biz. And I want this to be a TV show. But it is, I really, she's like the feet pick madam of the Lady Gang Facebook community. Can we have her on the podcast? Yes. Yeah.
07:22 I would love to. Because I need to continue. Can you send us the thing? Like, will you screenshot it and we'll get organized? If you're the feet pick, Madam, can you DM us on Instagram, please? Do you guys remember the one guy? I talked about him at Lady World that, like, sends me the request for feet picks? He's still doing it.
07:43 It's been yours. Oh, he's given up on me. Once a month, I get a request in my email. So I have one customer. Didn't we ask him? Did you give him a price at one point? And it was like crazy high? Yeah, I forget what I said. I'll have to go back when we have her on.
07:59 I'll be like, how can I get this up, up, up? So I can just be like a one customer only kind of girl. I know. Girls do it powerful women 2026. Yeah, let's get her on. I want to do it. I know. We should, yeah, you'll get the most.
08:13 I was going to say we should do a competition, but you would win. You don't know. You really don't know. That's true. Because people are into some different things, you know? It doesn't matter. You know what show I watched recently is the secret. lives of suburban wives.
08:27 And it's about this like group of women that are all on only fans, but they're just like these normal suburban women. Oh, is it good? Uh, I mean, no, but like I watched the whole thing. Like it's, it's interesting because they're like, they're just suburban ladies, you know, with kids and it's like, and then they're filming this show. And their husbands are like in it with them, right? And they're like helping them.
08:51 Yeah, a lot of husbands are in. And like the whole premise of the season. And one is them like telling the people in their lives that they're on only fans. So they have them like telling their parents. And then like two women get fired from their job as school teachers. And then like their kids are like, why are we filming this TV show? And so like it's it's definitely a if you need a watch of something trashy, I would highly recommend it. But it's kind of like in that vein. And this is why my show didn't get on TV. Exactly. Well, this I think is like on like I don't even know, TBS or something like that probably. Don't shame the small cable networks. Well, they do the weird shows. I mean, I love that. That's where, like, 90-day fiancé is. It's just where all the kind of like off, you know, little strange shows.
09:33 Okay, I'm going to go next. My good week is I did something that I haven't done in like 15 years for the first time. And that is going to see a movie in the movie theater. Oh, what did you see? Well, I've seen two because now I'm like a movie person. I saw Resident Evil last weekend. and then I saw Primetime. Resident Evil was so good.
09:55 It's by the guy that did weapons. The guy from the widest kids, you know, I mean, for like a horror, I like horror movies. Yeah, I don't like a scary movie. Me either, especially not in the theater. Oh, I love it. Well, you know who doesn't like a jump scare is Jared. And he closed his eyes.
10:11 Oh, that's so cute. This is why I love him. You know who loves a jump scare and everything spooky? Me. I don't get scared by anything. So it's so funny because, like, he just, He just so jumpy in the movie theater, but he enjoyed it. And then we saw Primetime, the Robert Pattinson, Chris Hansen.
10:30 Oh, how was it? Pretty bad. Really? Which is so weird because I heard all of this like Oscar buzz about him. It was not good. But was he good as Chris, what's his face? I mean, not. I mean, I guess, but not really.
10:46 He wasn't giving me. You know what this is? What? When hot men in Hollywood played. somebody that's not hot, people think they deserve Oscars. Yes. I think Chris Hansen's a good-looking guy, but he doesn't have Chris Hansen's vibe. Like, Chris Hansen has a nice, like, I don't know, he has some, like, cheeks and, like, Robert Pattinson's face is very, like, skeletor sort of looking. Yeah. So it wasn't giving me the vibe. So, like, other than him doing the, like, you know how
11:11 this looks, right? Like, that part, it was like, I don't know. Darn it. I thought that was going to be such a good movie. I know. But I, but, you know, I was really enjoyed. the movie experience. I was getting my refreshments. Snacks. I got a, you can get wine now. Who knew? It was the nice comfy seat. So I'm a movie person. Um, so that's my good week. My bad week is, I went to the gyno recently for my pap smear, my yearly pap smear. And she's like one of those functional doctors. So she actually talks to you for a whole thing hour about everything. And it was very nice. So I was like telling her about everything. And then I was like, yeah, she's like, because anything changed. I was like, well, the only thing that's,
11:51 change is like for some reason my periods are like 26 days instead of 28. I'm sure that's like not like it's like a whatever thing. And she's like, that's actually not a whatever thing. She's like, this is probably a very early sign of your perimenopause coming on. And that was my first perimenopause symptom that I have had. And it really hurts. So it's like it's probably it's fine. And she's like, you should actually write this down. It's worth noting. Listen, other than making a baby, perimenopause is going to be the best thing that ever happens to you. I'm not talking about your fertility making a baby. But when that period starts drying up, you're going to feel so much relief. You're going to feel great. I mean, there's a lot of other
12:37 downsides that I'm not going to tell you about now, but you're going to be so happy when your whole vagina starts drying up like a Sahara Desert. No, I am excited for that when it eventually comes, but doesn't it last for like 10 years? Yeah. No, you got a long way to. go, baby. Yeah. I think you should, you should probably just hysterectomy. That's what I was thinking. Maybe I'll do that before any of that actually takes me down.
12:59 Do you do the ablation? Oh, yeah, you can probably do an ablation. Do you have a heart-shaped uterus? I don't think so. Would I have known that by now? Yeah. Oh. Because they would have been like it's really hard to get pregnant.
13:10 Oh, well, I haven't done that yet, so. No, you did the sono histogram where they filled your uterus with water. Oh, yeah, yeah. They would have known. Yeah, you would have known. Yeah. So you can just ablaze, which is like they just put the, the thing inside and burn you.
13:23 That's a blaze, baby. A blaze. You're a blaze. Set it a blaze. Set it a blaze. Okay. My good week is that I met Jesse's Maricio from Vanderpump Villa.
13:40 And if you know this, I went against our friendship and really talked shit about Maricio because I was like, I don't trust a man that that is the color of an eggplant. Too tan, never wearing a shirt. Don't think this is the guy for her. It's like a real guy and like a businessman, like whatever.
13:55 I met this man and he is human goddamn sunshine. Really? The nicest person. And like he is that guy that like outwardly is, yes, was he wearing a vest with no shirt? Yes. Like he was. Was he tanned? Does he have a sculpted eyebrow?
14:14 Yes. Like all of those things that concerned me. And then I met him and like the way he speaks to Jesse. is gorgeous, like truly gorgeous. The way he takes care of her, he was standing there and I'm visiting me, him, Justin, and Jesse. And we're visiting. And then I was like, nice purse because he's holding the purse.
14:36 He's like, oh, I always hold the purse. You know, Jesse likes to talk with their hands a lot. So I'm on purse duty all the time. I have so many pictures of me with the purse. This one's cute, right? Like, so lovely, so fun. Just like Chris Knight never holds my purse. You know what I mean?
14:48 Like, it's just he was, he's very tall. He's so well spoken in a way that, like, was not edited that way on Vanderpaville at all. Incredibly smart. And just, Jesse is a very small person. She's like Becca size. She's like Polly Pocket size. And there's a way in a room of people that a man, and it's the same way Zach kind of hovers you, Becca. Like, I don't really know how to explain it.
15:15 But, like, he's beside her, but he's like a one step back where his, like, arm would be around her, but his arm is not, but he's kind of like protecting her because she's just a Polly pocket. And like he was doing that. Like I really scaled this man up and down. He was so lovely. And I was like, oh, Justin's like, oh my God, you just bought a house. And I said, do you guys buy the house together? He was, oh, no, no, we're not moving fast.
15:35 We're taking things slow. He's like, I'll be over there all the time. But like, you know, I'll fix stuff. But like, I've got my own place. Like, he just did not give user, mother, fives in the slightest. Interesting. I'm happy. I'm happy to hear this because she seems so happy. She really does. And she seems so happy. And I was like, is she just dumb? And I love Jessie, but I was like, is she just, she's been married, she had kids with this guy. She's just excited to have someone around that she wants to fuck. You know what I mean?
16:07 But he just has a way about him. He's very, very, like, strong gentleman. He reminds me a lot of, like, Zach. Like, I don't know how to describe. but he's like kind of calming, not shy like Chris, like has a personality, as talkative, as funny, is kind of like a bro, like guy bro, you know what I mean? Like how Zach is, but Zach is like, one eye is always on you when you're in the room. He's always watching to make sure you're okay. And I've always loved that about Zach. And he just, yeah, he was really cool. And I was really excited for her.
16:42 No, I love that for her. Me too. We were judged a book by its cover. Well, we just wanted her to be sick. And, like, experienced her single life. And she, like, jumped right into that relationship, which we never advise on anybody doing. But, like, sometimes there is the exception and sometimes it works. And I hope it does for them if he seems like a genuine good guy.
17:03 Yeah, I was very unsure. And I was like, oh, no, this guy's here. Oh, I'm enough to fake like him all night. And then I just really enjoyed him a lot. Like, I was taking pictures and he was so thankful and, like, I don't know. It was just so sweet. He's like, Jesse, should get one by yourself? Like, he was just nice.
17:18 Okay. Bad week is the dress from the internet has arrived. So a little backstory. Months ago, I sent $2,000 to a random account on the internet for a dress that I saw that was modeled on an AI model. And I really wanted it for the Grammys. And I sent this money off. And I've been following up with this man who he calls me dear, oh dear, oh dear. So I sent the measurements. I asked him about the questions. Finally, I got a note from him just a few weeks ago that said the dress is ready. And I was like, oh my God, this, I wasn't, it, what I didn't got get ripped off. I see the DHL, the tracking number I get on Instagram, the dress arrives. It is so
18:02 ugly. And to be honest, I can't even fully put it on because it does not fit. But second of all, the dress weighs about 200 pounds because it's all rhinestones. And then it's, it's, it's based off this very famous Gucci dress that Dakota Johnson wore. where she has like basically like rhinestones on a string, but like hundreds of them. So you're just like in a fringe rhinestone. There's so much for in rhinestone that I couldn't even really see what the dress looks like because they're clumped together and then held together in giant ponytails of rhinestone
18:37 with twist ties. So like the shoulders are all twist tied together. But are you supposed to undo the twist tie? I'm supposed to undo it. But like I undid one and then it was such a mess of like rhinestones all knotted together. I was like, honestly, I'll get the gist of this when I try to put it on. Now, I was alone. It has a corset inside.
18:56 I feel like, so it's fucking horrific. Wait, do you have the picture of what it was supposed to look like, like on hand? Or any picture of you putting it on? How did you find this person? Like, what was the... I saw it on... So I always save a lot of gowns all year long because then I, like, planned what I want, you know,
19:19 my, okay, so this is, let me see if I can find the dress. Let me go into my messages. Please hold. Oh, why is it gone? Okay, should we ship? Dere, hello, dear. Sorry for the wait. Dress is in process.
19:32 Jir, I will ask, sure, dress in process. Morning, dear, let me analyze and let you know. Like, just no information whatsoever at all times. Once the payment is done, I will confirm. Like, just, okay, so this is the dress what it's supposed to be. Okay. Okay. Yeah.
19:49 Cool. Mm-hmm. Exactly as you described. Yes. It is... Is that his account? That's the designer's account. I thought this woman was real. You're telling me she's AI. I think she's real. I think some of the other models are AI. Anyway, but here's the good thing. After designing my dresses with Godoy last year, I know how expensive fabric is. This is definitely $2,000 worth of rhinestones, for sure. Like, they definitely got those wholesale. So what I think I'm going to do is I do like the skirt. I think I'm going to take it to Godoy. I'm going to I'm going to cut the shoulders off. I'm going to have him remake it and see if we can salvage her for something. But it is hideous. I need you to do a try on and I know. We need to include it in this podcast. Yeah. Kelty, do it for your, it'll be great on TikTok. Do it for his TikTok. You want me to try it on right now? No, not right now. No, we'll insert the video in here for people. Okay. Go try it on. Yeah, it's like what I ordered versus what I got. It's like people love those. I love them. Okay. It's going to be great. It's really bad.

So if you guys didn't know, I have a new book coming out, The Them Theory, Self-Help for people
24:33 who are done being the bigger person. It comes out November, oh. It comes out November 24th. It's very pretty in real life. It's got like, it's really a thick bad boy. It's thick. It's really pretty. It's got rhinestone.
24:46 And like on, Honestly, no one has read it. I mean, some press have read it and I read it doing the audiobook. My mom's read it. Chris has read it. So I'm very interested to know what you guys think. Do you have like each have a topic you would like to discuss? And then do you have questions or things you want to tell me that I'm crazy for? Please begin. Well, I first, the thing that I thought about was the interview that you did with Jenna Bush. What's her last name? Hager. Hager. And is that today show? or Good Morning America. Today Show. Today Show. So you did an interview about the book and you had a crash out after the interview. Understandably, it was, those are such stressful interviews and you do pre-interviews with a producer and you talk about what you think you're going to talk about and then you get on the couch and you may be sitting across some people who've never read the book or have read the book or have all these assumptions, blah, blah, blah. They asked you a, they asked you a series of, questions and they kind of painted a picture of you being this like sad girl for lack of your term and I kind of want I want to go back and give you I know that you kind of talked about this on your socials but really the thing is is that they were like well we hope we see you again and you're happy like we hope next time we see you're happy and I really like what
26:15 you said later about like there is no like happiness mountain like there is no oh my gosh I've I've completely I've come full circle I'm fully evolved I'm so successful I have X Y and Z on my resume and I don't think a lot of people talk about it and I think that you do a really beautiful job in the book of being like life is lifeing and it's always hard it's good it's bad it's ugly but like how would you go back and answer the question differently or have the conversation differently on the Today Show. That's such a good question, Becca. Thank you.
26:49 Yeah, she said to me, like, they played this whole montage of like, Kelty, at the height of her career and then disfigures her face and go, go, go, go. And then she started the interview. She says, how did you, like, how do you feel watching that? And I said, I feel sorry for her. And what I should have said was I feel proud of her. Like, I'm so proud of her for being so incredibly brave and overcoming every one of her demons and creating a big, bold, successful, love-filled, chaos-filled, joy-filled life
27:21 in spite of all the shit that's being thrown her way. And this book is really about showing people that they can do the same thing. Because what I have learned in life is that when we speak about things, we feel less alone, but everyone has something. And every chapter of this book, whether it's friendship, whether it's love, whether it's family trauma, whether it's your own mental illness, whether it's your body issues. We each have something that keeps us up at night
27:47 that is like this thing that is hard to overcome. And in it, I'm giving you tools to do the same. People look at me and they're like, she's so lucky. I'm not lucky. I thrived in spite of the worst parts about myself and that is what this book does. Mic drop. I love that so much.
28:04 I love the conclusion, like title of your conclusion was the saddest, happiest, sweetest, meanest girl alive. I know you found that like from a meme. but I'm like that encapsulates everything. And what I got out of this book, I don't know if I've really ever read a self-help book. So I have like nothing to compare it to. But like for me,
28:24 it's like going on this journey with you. Number one, I learned so many things about you that I thought I've known every single thing about you. So it's fun to learn these little like bits and pieces and you never go through. Because it's like we wrote, act like a lady together, right?
28:38 So it's like I've heard a lot of like stories that we've all, are big stories that we tell. But the way you move through things is very fluid and you don't get stuck on or hung up on anything in particular. And I just think as a reader, it's like this book isn't going to change your life in the way that like a lot of books pretend that they're going to. But it's like we're just trying to get through this life together. And it's showing the ways that you did in a way that is actually very relatable to like a normal gal, which I think is very very, like, impressive the way that you wrote it all. It was just, I loved it so much. I don't have a
29:17 question. I'm just, I think that was my high level. We're just high level. I do when you talk about how you go through like all of these different aspects of your life. And I think just being, you have a really, you're so brutally honest. And you're not trying to tie anything up with a beautiful bow. Like even the chapter about your black swan persona, like you're the black swan when you're really in your body stuff. And you've hinted at things on the podcast of like struggles in the past and insecurities and all the shit and like being hard on your body and mean to your body. And I really do like that you take us through the journey you've had with your body. And then you also have a really, really vulnerable moment of talking about the GLP1 period of your life. What I really like
30:02 about it though is that you weren't like, I regret it so much and I wish I were healthier and I wish. And then you're like, well, maybe it was okay. Maybe this is something that I, like what I came from, it's not black and white. You're like, we all had to try this thing. I live in this world. It's not, I'm not like your everyday person who the standards for my body are much lower with. It's like I live in Hollywood. They're basically like juicing during baseball.
30:29 It's like not juicing during baseball when everyone around you is doing it. So you didn't like give yourself a lashing for it, but you also didn't celebrate it. and you're like the whole that in a nutshell is the book. It's like it's complicated and nothing is black and white. It's so gray. And I don't know. I feel like most people would have written that chapter and the last paragraph would have been like this lesson that they taught of self love and self acceptance.
30:54 And like you're not doing that because that's not being a woman. Like it's not. It's complicated. It's like you one day it's the same way that all of us feel about body stuff. It's like one day you want to be like society and. everybody for making us feel like we have to look a certain way. And then the next day, you're like, I look skinny and I feel great. Like it's, but it's true. It's the, it's the plight of being a woman. It was the hardest part. That was the hardest chapter to read in the audiobook recording because
31:22 the literally, like, had this guy sitting there with me and we just put in our lunch order. And I'm, I'm like sitting there reading about it. And the chapter kind of ends with me saying like, hey, I've been really mean to my body and I'm going to try to be better. I can't make promises. Like I'm unsure. Like some of these things that were absolutely horrific for me I would do again in the name of like having a killer picture or like this thing. And like I think this is a sickness that's going to follow me until the end. And you know, I really appreciate you picked up on that, Becca, because it was really important for me in all the chapters to not be like, And in the end, I learned GLPs were wrong and really we should just be like doing our health.
32:08 My whole point in that chapter was like all of these body issues we have, no matter who we are, are so deeply ingrained in us. Like from the time I was 15 years old watching my friend die of anorexia, like the posters I had on my wall, the things that were in pop culture, being judged, being weighed, like all of these things are so deeply ingrained in me that like it's not my fault. I can't get out from underneath myself. strongest person in the world couldn't. Now, when I get called curvy and it sets me off, I had two options at the time. One is, I know exactly what I need to do, which is my heavyweight workouts and
32:44 get the food delivery and be making the list in my boojo about my green juices and calories and all of those things. And I have been that girl before. I can do it that way. But at that point, I was fucking exhausted. We were doing Lady World. I was doing the end of E. I was taking care of my brother, like, I just wanted the easy way. And I took the easy way. And honestly, it wasn't that bad. There were really good things about it. So, but what's crazy is that when you go and tell the world, hey, I'm exhausted from being a woman. I want to take whatever the easy way is. Then everyone comes for you, you know? And like, but then there's like on both sides of those things, there's the fitness health influencers that are so insane that you get to be Miranda Kerr on that crazy podcast interview
33:29 where they're like, do you do eggs? She's like, no eggs. And they're like, do you do celery roots? And she's like, leaves only. Like, it's like insane. Like I've been around those people that are like, and I've had doctors and nutritionists that have been like, oh my God, you can never eat a legume. What are you crazy? There's mold in the mushrooms, you know?
33:46 And then on the other side, there's people that are like abusing the GLP ones and are so fucking thin that like I can barely stand to look at them when they walk the red carpet and everything about it is triggering to me 24-7. And I'm like, I actually have to mute you on Instagram because I can't look at your arms one more time. So it was such a difficult chapter to write. It was the most difficult chapter to have Chris read. I couldn't believe my mom was going to read it. And I am embarrassed by it. To be honest, like that is, oh, my God. You should be so proud. It's like, really? Yes. It's so honest. And that's, I think, the through line too with the book is like, I don't even know. Sometimes I'm like,
34:29 Does she even know how honest she's being? You know, because it's like you're such a specific person. You didn't sugar, you don't sugarcoat anything. You don't sugarcoat your inner monologue at times. You don't sugarcoat your feelings about people, circumstances, situations. Like, you're not saying things to impress the reader. And I think that in turn, you're impressing us so much with the ability to be so incredibly, brutally honest.
34:54 Was there anything in the book when you're reading it? because I do feel like that's when you're like, oh, it's too late to take this out. And now as I'm reading it, it sounds insane. What part were you the most, besides that chapter, the most terrified of and had second thoughts of? And it was too late. Do you know what is crazy? Is that, and not just because this is a lady gang episode, a lot of the stuff like, I don't feel like I went too far, but I was nervous to see what you guys would think about
35:25 the stuff on friendship and talking about us and like our relationship. because I, you know, I think there's always been this unspoken rule that even when things were hard or like we were pissed off at each other, like we've always protected each other pretty much publicly. Like, you know, we do not talk shit about each other. And that's always been like a pretty hard, fast rule. And I think that unfortunately so much of this mental breakdown that I had really last year was, you know, caused and in the midst of like putting together Lady World and just kind of being at the end of. of E and like, you know, that trip we took to Florida when I was like barfing everywhere. And like, there's like so many embarrassing parts of that story, like of that. And I think the question that we all get asked a lot is like, how do you work together? How is your friendship? And I, I knew that I was being like you said, Becca, like so honest in the book that it would be so jarring if I was like, and then Lady Gang's perfect. Like I had to explain that. But I also was very proud of like there is this topic when we talk about friendship or I think it's in the
36:31 conclusion like where I talk about the things that I love about both of you that drive me insane. How did you guys feel about those things? I was going to say like that made me smile so much because I think before you had said all that about us, I don't know what chapter it was. It was near the end of the book. But when you were talking about our friendship in general, you just like nailed it on the head in like such a beautiful way, like in a way that I don't even know that I would be able to, like, say in words because it was so, like, raw and honest and not sugarcoded that I, like, finished that chapter and I almost started crying because I was like, this is just, our friendship is so beautiful. And then you said something in that chapter where you're like,
37:11 we always said that we're not best friends, but we're best friends. And I just thought that was really sweet. And I really, it was funny because I'm like, I wonder where my name's going to pop up in this book. But it was a very. But it was a very sweet. really a really sweet, honest way of describing our friendship that I think is very, very accurate at the end of the day. I actually felt like your descriptions of us were dead on, like dead on. And also, you just feel seen when somebody describes you, even when it's not the most beautiful glowing review, you know, it's like. Yeah, I think you called me infuriating. You are. mine was basically like I'm a hit like I hit and run like I'll like stab you to your core and then
37:59 we're like fine 30 seconds later and you don't have time to recover and I'm back like you know what I mean like I really did like that because you do it's like you feel seen even with your like bullshit because really you're able to sit there and make those descriptions and say those things about us because you do it with yourself like it's you're never claiming to be this like perfect person partner anything. And I do think, I wish that you had actually given yourself more credit and more in the chapter, like in the parts about Lady Gang, where if you were not at the helm, we don't, I don't think that this would have been, we always say you're responsible for it happening, but you're also very much responsible for the dynamic that we have kept. Like, you're really good at separating personal from business and X, Y, and Z. and I think that women, to generalize, I think we take things a lot more personally, usually, and
38:56 it's really, it gets really complicated. But I look to you a lot of the time as like, no, we can have this argument. I can disagree with it about this thing. They can hate something that I did. And I don't have to go home and cry about it. Like I do think after reading the book, I feel I've taken a little bit even more so after 10 years of working with you. I was learning about that, but like being in your brain for that long. I'm like, I want to operate more like you. And I think that that's what a lot of women are going to take away from this as well. It's like you really do have a mentality. But it's more in a sense of like, I don't give a shit what people think I'm going to do. I'm going to honor myself and I'm going to honor what I believe to be right and mine. And then I think there's like this added push of like,
39:43 especially in the friendship chapter or in the relationship chapter of like and I'm going to understand that every single other person is imperfect and like I just think that we're especially the self-help thing Jack was like oh I haven't read a lot of self-help books like to just a lot of self-help is like here's 10 steps and you do this and then at the end you're going to be free and feel better and happy and like none of that works none of that stays right and I just think like one of the best thing of my life is that I exist in this world where I'm very fast forward, narcissistic, self-centered, going for my goals. Like, here we go, steamrolling everyone around me. But I also at the same time have this great understanding, although it can be
40:34 frustrating at times, that like not everyone is me. And I think that's where we get really lost. Like this whole let them theory is based on like, well, let them discount me. Let them not see me. Let them, whatever. But I also feel like if we're going to let them, it should be let them be imperfect. Let them come back around. Like we, and I talk about this a lot in the book and I did so much research on it. We have this sort of weird thing happening right now where we're just like cutting people out of our lives. Like we're just like, this is too complex. This is too nuanced. Boundaries. Boundaries. There's too much friction here. I don't, this is not. This is not feeling my peace. This is not feeling my good. But I have done so much research on this. And this is
41:15 actually like very detrimental to us. What I hope that everyone could do is like keep coming back to the table. Like, you know, when things annoy you about other people, when things annoy you about your relationship, when you have uncomfortable moments with yourself, like name them, speak them out loud. Say the really hard thing. Like the f f f f f f fict them theory is really about like don't shrink. Don't make yourself small. Like, just get out there. Say the uncomfortable thing. Say the honest thing.
41:43 Say the thing that's going to make them hate you. And, like, know that they're doing the same thing. So you can't hate the other people when they do that same thing to you. And that's often what's uncomfortable is like a lot of times people are like, oh, I just want to be honest. But then when other people are honest, you're like, well, they're such a cunt. How would they think that about me? Like, you have to be able to accept that you're like the pendulum swings both ways a little bit. And that's been hard.
42:09 And I thought it was interesting the tie-in between when we started Lady Gang, we were like, women feel less alone. And so we're like, let's just yap. Let's just tell the stories. And then to have all this research that is really describing why self-silencing in women is giving us migraines and cancer and dementia and giving us IBS. Like literally all these studies on the brain. of like when you are self-silencing, when you're like, I'm not allowed to say this
42:39 or I shouldn't say this. You're suppressing your real feelings. It's literally killing us. And I look back and I think, what's the through line of Lady Gang? Why have we felt so good all these years? Why have people come to us and been like, I'm a member of the Lady Gang or like,
42:54 Lady Gang helped me through this thing? Because we've allowed women a place for ourselves and other women to actually just say it. And we didn't tell them to self-silance. And there's like very positive parts of, that. Has your beauty routine become a little stagnant? We think you merit an upgrade. Do you guys think anyone's going to hate me?
46:17 No. I actually wish that everyone you've ever worked with could read it. Like even the purveyors of pop, the company that made are Lady Gang TV. I think that what it is when people have worked with you, and have been frustrated or you've been, like, quote, too much or too intense or whatever the thing is. I think what it is is like if people were to know what was going on with you and like to know really like how you move through the world in all aspects of your life, you'd be so much more celebrated in places of work like that. Is that making any sense?
47:02 Yes. I keep getting this thing where like even, oh, I've been doing so many podcasts and so much press for the book. And people are like, you know, I just always have been a little scared of you. And you're actually like very soft inside. And I'm like, I knew that. Like, I've known that, right? Like, I've known that. But I'm glad that I get to give people a different look.
47:25 But like, I think, yeah, it's never, that's like never easier to hear. Because I'm like, I really don't walk into any situation being like, I'm going to make these people hate me. They just hate me. No, but I think that like the best part of you of who you are at your core is the more that somebody gets to know you, the more that they love you. Like, there's no, there was no time in my life and my friendship with you where I learned something new about you and it made me like you less. Like everything, like every, you're like a little onion and like every layer I understand you more. the way you do things makes more sense. Like, I feel like I get you to your core, like, after every single day. And so I think that people reading this will learn way more about you
48:10 and why you do the things you do and, like, how you really are at your core, like, because you are such an incredible, dynamic, nuanced person at the end of the day. And you're so fucking self-aware. I think that at the end of the day, that is your best quality. And it's like, you can't get yourself in trouble when you're like, yeah, I know. You're like, there's nothing you can tell me. And that's where like when I open the book, I'm like, hey, by the way, this is going to be uncomfortable because like I'm going to unpack some shit. And like it should be uncomfortable for you. Let me ask you guys this. Did was there parts of it where you know, because the book is not just like for me. It's not supposed to be just like here's my stories. Like I do want people to like kind of rethink their brain. Was there anything you're taking away both of you? Like last question like that you're going to take into your life to help yourself. Oh. Well, broad. I'll do broad strokes and then specific. So, you know, there's this place. I couldn't stop thinking about it when I was reading.
49:06 I think because it's like a conversation in my friend group right now. There's this place called the Hoffman Institute. Yeah. In, well, they're all over. There's like a bunch of different campuses. It's this place where a lot of celebrities go, but a lot of everyday people go. And it's seven straight days, no phones, no devices. You're in this little bubble.
49:25 And it's all kind of therapy work. And what you do is the real. of it is uncovering like your triggers and where the triggers came from and having the awareness of the trigger in the moment. And then I might be botching this, but it's a lot of self-love and self-acceptance. And reading the book, I'm like, Kelty kind of doesn't need to go do this. Like I always feel like, oh, everybody could go use that work. Like, everybody needs to do that work. I'm like, no, I'm actually reading the story of a woman who's actually done all this work. And it's back to the self-awareness. It's back to being like,
50:05 no, I know fully who I am and I still love her. Like I don't think that, and it made me want to write stories and like journal in ways that I probably hadn't been inspired to do. Like, not that it's the ugly parts of you where it's the achiever and like the accolades and the I think we all have that and we I've shied away from it my whole life is like I don't need the validation I don't need it I don't need the thing I'm fully I'm whole without it I'm whatever whatever and I'm like that's such a fucking lie like just sit down and write down all of the things that you like are so cringe so cringe and the things that you really care about and like the times that you have gotten the validation and how amazing it felt like and you wouldn't have
50:57 felt amazing unless you had gotten that validation. And like it's just, I'm so sick of pretending like I'm like I'm so evolved that I'm past caring about this shit. I guess is what I'm, it's a it's heavy to carry to be like, oh, I don't, I've done all this work to not care. Well, and you, it's very obvious like from what years of you journaling and writing things down like has really done for you. And you obviously like after every chapter you have sort of like a work book journal prompt thing. And when you're going back to like a lot of self-help books where it was like, do, you know, just practice your breath work and like do five minutes of yoga with me. And it's like, that shit doesn't work. Like the one thing that I think people are going to take away from this and that like
51:42 what I feel like I've taken away from it is just like we're all getting through it together. Everybody is so messy. But like here are ways that you can pause for a second and really like connect with yourself in a way that we never do because life is so busy all the time. And I think that is just a really wonderful thing that people can take away from that is just just being with themselves for like one minute when life is so busy. And I loved all the prompts. And I think that you just knocked it out of the park. I really do. Thanks. The last thing I'll say is just that that's one of the, it's so funny that both of you came up with that same sort of world because those live in the same place, which is, you know, essentially the whole thing about this book and the whole thing,
52:27 about whatever theory is you're allowed to be like the star of your own life. And whatever that means to you, right? Like for me, it's like, I want to walk red carpets and be on best dressless. But like, it's more about like having the confidence to just say the things you want out loud, say the things that are uncomfortable out loud, like make, manipulate the world in your favor so that you can be like, I just see so many women that it's like your hopes, dreams, things you want for yourself, whether it's accolades or just like figuring out or peace, it's like sixth on the list for everyone. We're like, we got to take care of our husbands. We got to take care of our kids and our family and our aging parents and all these things and we got to be beautiful. And then our own
53:07 self is like so far down the list. And I think what's really fun about me is that I've been such like a fun narcissist this whole time. And it started as like a joke, right? I'm like, no one like, I'm number one in Kelty's fan club. But I also think there's something that people can take away from me in that way. It's like, who are you to not? Like we should be comfortable being the own star of our life. So whatever that is, we should be able to speak about ourselves the way a publicist would speak about you when you're, you know, they're pitching you for a show or, you know, trying to get a write up about your art, Jack. Like, she's phenomenal. Like, she is phenomenal.
53:43 And all the women out there, like, you are phenomenal. There's something special about you. You're incredible. And like if you sit around waiting for everyone else to notice and wait to make you feel important or make you. make you the star of their lives, they won't. Like if we were all just a little, I think being a narcissist, not like a murder way, but like a little narcissistic, a little self-centered, a little laser focused, a little self-aware can be like a very magic potion. So I'm greatly honored. You guys read it. I'm so excited for the Lady Gang to read it. I think this was a great
54:15 tease. And I'll just say this. Like I get it, Lady Gang. Like we're 10 years in. You've bought our books. you've bought the merch, you've come and see, like, you've come to on tour. This is just a different era for me. And it would just mean so much to me. And yesterday, I, well, actually on Saturday morning, I woke up crying because I got like some of my pre-order numbers and it's fine. And it's just like, it's not great. Like, it's not where I want to be at five weeks to the book coming out. And I turned over to Chris and he's like, well, babe, like, let's just buy the books. Like, we have money. Like, I just got paid on this thing. Let's just go buy the books. And this is like, here's some self-awareness for you. I turned to him and I said, I don't care about the list. Like, of course, that's like a great
54:57 thing to like, it's a bestseller. I said, no, but like I really didn't think this is important work. Like I actually really believe in what I'm saying in this book. And I, I want it to do well, not for me. Obviously, there's 10% that's like, yay, I want to win. But like, I really want this book to do well in pre-orders and be in stores because I want people to pick it up and I want them to read it because I think the work is so special. Is that weird? Like no. But I also think like this is the anti-Celtie advice, but I think that who's meant to find this book is going to find this book. Like it's like books find the people they're meant for and books go on the journey that they're meant to go on. And it's like the list is such a specific like flash in the pan thing that I think you've done so much work
55:46 around like getting a little bit of the pressure off of that specifically. But all, but also just letting the book do what it's going to do. Granted, you're promoting it. You're doing everything in your power aside from buying it yourself, which is where you draw the line, which I'm like glad because I don't know if pre them Kelty would have done. I feel like we did maybe do a little bit of a lot of things. I do have like 30 copies of act like a lady's still in my closet.
56:07 Yeah, you know. Well, but. Yeah. Also, it's like I think that you know this. It's a, it's a quality over quantity thing. Like you have your K-type collective. You're affecting people in their real lives.
56:17 Like you have definitely changed people's lives in different aspects, already so far. And at the end of the day, I think that that's what you really do care about. And that's where your value really is. And you're already doing that, you know? Thank you. And this book isn't just for K-types, too. Like, that's the other thing I think. I actually, I think that some of the value, a lot of the value in this just for me was, um, there are a lot of similarities, obviously, like just being a woman in the world and a millennial, whatever. But then it's like getting a peek inside of somebody who's extremely different. Like really. And, coming away with it with an understanding, a deeper understanding of some women like you or
