You know, thanks for what you do with your podcasts and all the rest.
You're doing a great job.
Hope everybody keeps tuning in.
You get a lot of good info, a lot of insights,
understandings of how to get strong, how to stay strong, how to use your strength.
You do a great job, dude.
You make things better than they are in real life, I think.
If you don't follow Massonomics, you all do it.
Social media, website, everything.
Massonomics.
What's up, everyone?
We just put a bow on that greasy old pre-show.
For anyone that doesn't know, the pre-show is the greasiest show in all of podcasting.
It's the show that we record prior to the show.
And the only way you can listen is by being a supporting member.
It is unfiltered.
It is unrecorded.
What's the third on thing?
It's uncut, unfiltered.
Uncut.
That's very important that it is also uncut.
On like this that is severely cut.
Unlike this, that is also uncut.
This is record.
What do we say unfiltered, uncut, and on recorded?
Is this filtered?
You do a little filtering, don't you?
More contained than the pre-show, yeah.
Pre-show has the secret grease in it.
You put it through some visual filters, probably.
Oh, yeah, that part of it, yeah.
I mean, and it is recorded, so it's got that going for it, too.
Yeah, and it's cut.
I mean, you have to cut a little bit off the front end, don't you?
I mean, technically, yes.
Like, how many seconds do you have to trim?
Seconds.
Actual seconds is all we're talking here.
Otherwise, we let it ride.
This is a little cut.
It's slightly cut.
It is slightly edited.
Well, that's not the word.
It is recorded.
It is slightly filtered, I guess.
Anyways, the pre-show is not any of those things.
It's on all of those things.
And you have to be a supportive member.
So be a supportive member.
We talk about top secret, high security clearance level stuff
that you can only know if you're a supporting member
and only if you're listening along live because it is uncut.
But this is episode 539, not of soccer made simple.
We're back to the Massonomics podcast this week,
the lifting podcast about nothing recorded live from the corners of the Dakotas.
See, it is recorded.
My name is Tanner.
And my name is Tommy.
This week's episode, we're going to be talking about some huge Jim Raynar updates.
These are freaking huge.
They're big.
They're the most massive.
I saw a marketing email that said these are the biggest.
updates that have ever been made by the gym radar guys since inception.
So I'm excited to see what those guys have been up to.
Those guys do not exaggerate.
So those guys are straight shooters over there.
They are straight shooters.
I don't know them well.
We just actually just one little tidbit.
We did just get back from Home GymCon.
And A, man, was that the best home JimCon ever?
One for the record books.
That I, it's been.
been we're so fresh off it.
I don't even want to get, I actually
I just, I don't want to get into it yet.
It would hurt to just relate it. Yeah, we got to reflect on this.
Give it some space. Yeah, we need one week of reflection to be able to, I think,
properly put a summary on to home gym con 2026 in Louisville, Kentucky.
But short version, we had ourselves a time.
Yes, we did.
We got up to some hijinks. I'll just tell you that much.
And I can't wait to tell you about him next week.
What do you think was the craziest thing that happened?
Well, I'll say this.
You're going to want to be in the pre-show next week.
Oh, man.
When we start reliving everything we did at home,
next week is the type of week that the pre-show thrives on.
That's what it's been waiting for.
I've never even seen anyone do exactly that with a lampshade before.
I know, right?
That's wild.
We'll talk more about that.
But this week, I want to let everyone know about our newest sponsor of the podcast.
Actually, this is just hot off the press.
It's EliteFTS.com.
They've got their big end of summer sale.
I don't want summer to ever end, but if it does have to,
let's do it with an end of summer sale at EliteFTS.com

Oh, Tanner, I am thirsty over here.
What do you got some of that scissor, piercing?
I'm not sure if you know, this has been a little.
warm lately.
The weather, am I right?
What do you got that?
Is that lavender or something?
Wow.
Blackberry mango.
Not a big mango guy.
Also not a big blackberry guy either, but it's okay.
You put them together, still shit.
Put them together, they're fine.
I've got a little bit of the forbidden fruit over here.
That's right.
Oh, limoncello.
God, you lose a bet?
The forbidden fruit.
I'm thinking you're going to have something good, actually.
Right in this drink spot or chill, the red drinks, but I mean, is this red drink spot or chill underrated or is it just me?
Severely underrated, criminally underrated.
Oh, boy.
This is my forbidden fruit mating call.
Oh, boy.
Got to be careful when you do that around.
They hear the lemmicello a pop and they come and running.
Are we going to do a little.
We're going to jump in right.
Are we actually just going to jump right in?
Hit it.
Hit it.
Hit it.
Hit it.
There it is.
I only had to say it five times that we got it.
Roll that beautiful bean footage.
Do you know what that's from?
Yeah, Bush's big beans.
I mean, I am insulted that you're asking if I know where that's from.
Of course I do.
Well, sometimes you haven't seen things.
Well, I've seen commercials.
Yeah.
That one used to play a lot.
It was a golden retriever possibly.
Yep, I believe it was.
Someone listening, can you name the dog?
I cannot.
Yeah, what was that dog?
I feel like the dog had it named, didn't it?
Dog definitely had like a man's human man's name, didn't I?
Yeah, I don't know.
It wasn't the, was the dog?
dog always trying to like steal the family recipe or something.
Duke.
Is that what it was?
Maybe.
I don't know.
Saying Duke.
I'm getting Duke vibes.
Yep.
Okay.
Roll that beautiful.
So would the dog say roll that beautiful bean footage?
No,
wouldn't the old guys say that?
Okay.
I wonder,
was he trying to steal the rest?
Is that right?
Is that the plot?
I'm not sure if that's what it was.
That's,
I can go 50-50.
That could be a lot of other things.
Just any animal.
Yeah.
That's also.
the plot of sponge bob.
The dog kept trying to play basketball the whole time.
That's what it was doing.
It was Air Duke.
Air Duke trying to steal the beans.
Dogs ran away and then they all came home at the end.
There was a cat.
Yep.
Yep.
It's all coming back to me now.
Yeah, okay.
One more time just for,
we kind of got sidetracked.
The title topic was not Bush's baked beans.
also is Bush's baked beans just the best or like the most well-known brand of baked beans?
I think so.
I think they're the ones that have a marketing budget if I had to guess.
Also, isn't that a wild that baked, like someone from that marketing agency that got that going,
like, man, we took canned baked beans and made it a household name.
I would also argue no one else was even trying, so the bar was pretty low, you know.
Like, okay, there's this industry where no one's putting any marketing dollars.
Can we win?
Turns out you can.
Is there enough margin in baked beans to even like, uh, we've talked about this
volume.
We've talked about this before.
It's the, uh, it's the bait and switch on the bacon.
That's where they save all the money, you know?
Hmm.
There's like no bacon in the thing.
Yeah, it's got to be the least legally amount, uh, allowed by law of bacon to be put
into a can and still say bacon in there.
That's where they're saving the money.
Well, you don't want bacon on your burger, but,
you want it in your beans.
If I'm buying a can of beans that says bacon,
if I'm buying a burger that says bacon,
I want bacon on it.
It's my point is when I'm buying it that says it,
I want it, you know?
That's true.
If I don't want it,
I'll just get the can that doesn't say it,
but if I'm getting the can that says it,
I want it in there.
Also, here's what I'll say about baked beans.
They're good enough.
They're not that good, though.
Like, you've got to do something to bake beans.
I think they're good.
I like, I, you're saying,
I don't disqual to spice them up.
You gotta get some bacon or something in there.
Or like weenies or something.
Like, I don't dislike baked beans.
I will eat baked beans.
They fit in really well in certain meals.
But they're not that good.
They're really mushy and like there's no, uh, I mean.
I've always been a baked bean enjoyer, you know?
I know, I think they're good.
I just don't think they're all that good.
I mean, I think they're adequately.
I think they're correctly placed in the scheme of things in life.
there. Like if you eat baked beans, do you want the entire pile to look homogeneous where it's all,
like there's literally just that one, all you see is that one exact same color, same size bean.
I mean, given my choice, I kind of like the, what's it, people call it like the cowboy beans or whatever,
where it's like a variety and there's even some hamburger and it's just like it turns into like a baked bean dish or like a.
I think that's way better.
Oh, yeah, it is.
Have the thing and it's literally all just exactly the same.
Something about that doesn't look.
It's not as good.
That is the lowest tier of it, but it's also the lowest effort of it too.
Right.
But it's the purest if you're a baked beerst also.
Well, I mean, it is the purest, yeah.
We had baked beans at the Lift Hardly of Easy Classic.
Did you have any at the backyard barbecue?
I thought I took everything, but maybe I didn't.
Maybe I didn't take any.
I think there was.
Someone can spot check me on that if there was baked beans or not at the backyard.
I mean, I know I definitely had two pole.
pork sandwiches, that for sure.
And, uh, yes, Megan, the quarter horse can confirm they were there.
Yeah, they were.
Cam also said yes, they were adjacent to Garrett's slot bowl.
I didn't take any Garrett's food.
Did you, you, did you take any of his food?
I didn't take any of his food.
I didn't take any his either.
I'm not touched his food.
My plate was full enough.
I didn't need to try and pile that on and contaminate what I had done already.
I did not want Garrett's food co-mingled with perfectly good food, perfectly
edible food. I didn't need to ruin the excitement that I had to eat.
Okay. I wish I had a roll that beautiful bean. I'm getting a roll that beautiful bean
footage button. Yeah, I like that. And then it'll be like whatever we're going to play. I'll hit
the roll that beautiful bean footage button. I know we say this is on cut. Can we completely stop this
episode now? Pause it. Wrap it out. I'll download the thing. And then the next thing people
know I'll be playing the roll that beautiful bean footage over and over. I don't want to do that.
but okay, here we go.
Put a my to-do list quick.
Get, roll that beautiful bean footage sound clip
with maybe like a long pause before it comes in.
Normally.
I mean, the thing about the pauses you can just wait, too.
You know, if you just wait to push the button,
the pause can be as long as you want it.
True.
But we are going to talk about the biggest update
that the Jim Radar guys have ever done.
How long has Jim Raider been a live website?
Well, to the public, it's been live since the end of February, right?
Before the Arnold.
I didn't know if it was the beginning February or what it was.
I think the public launch was the end of February.
Wasn't it the week before the Arnold?
Wasn't it like February 25th or something like that?
I think you're right.
Maybe even two weeks before.
It was like February 20 something.
Okay.
Because there's no 30s.
There's no 30s in February.
Right.
You know.
Right.
I think it was 20-something in February.
Was it a leap here, though?
Boy, you got me.
You really got me.
Actually, you know what?
You know what?
I think I have a screenshot right here.
Pre-launch.
My pre-launch Jim Radar screenshot February 24th.
Wow.
Okay.
I took it up the admin dashboard and those numbers are tiny.
Pathetic.
March, April, May, June, July.
So we are just over five.
Jim Radar hasn't even been around for half a year.
Wow.
As far as the public knows.
Yeah, yeah.
As far as public facing, it's only been a touch over five months.
That's kind of crazy, actually.
That is crazy.
I mean, can you even remember life pre Jim Radar?
I know that that's a joke.
And like, of course I can, but also kind of know.
Like, I feel like Jim Radar has been 40% of what my life,
like, 40% of my discussions over the past forever.
feel like it's just been about Jim Redar.
With obviously you, my wife, way more than she would like to even acknowledge
free time.
Anyone I run into in public.
Yeah, it's been sort of all consuming without a doubt.
And we were worried it wasn't being all consuming enough.
So we took on our biggest project ever.
And this addressed this project.
Okay, I'm going to say the two things.
It was variance and subcategories.
That is the biggest project, the biggest update since the launch of Jim Radar.
And on the surface, those two things seem maybe simple,
especially if you haven't spent a ton of time on Jim Radar.
You know, the Internet's largest equipment database,
largest home gym gallery, largest.
What else is it?
I would say it's probably the largest collection of gym equipment reviews.
That too, yes.
Well, encompassing all.
Yeah, that are...
Rogue Fitnet.
Rogue.com has more reviews.
Yeah, but that are, um, company, what, agnostic or just, uh, yeah, takes any company.
Yeah, like, no doubt Rogue's database of reviews is bigger.
But unfortunately, Rogue only allows reviews of Rogue products on their website, which
also sometimes they don't even allow that.
Was it you telling me about that or what?
Yeah, that was a little bit of the drama on, Koup had a video on the air, the, uh, um, Rogue
Air, I know.
And in the video, he specifically calls out that there was one review from a person on the website.
And I think they had like kind of a negative review of it.
And supposedly that Coop said he reached out to Rogue and they said, oh, we talked to the guy.
He deleted his review.
Well, in the comments on Coop's video, the guy was there saying, no, that was my review.
I did not delete it.
And I mean, anyone could leave that comment.
So it's hard to say.
But this guy was saying, no, I was the guy.
I did not delete that comment.
I did not leave that review.
Rogue deleted it.
and I'm not happy, so I don't know,
could be a little something going on there.
But at Jim Radar, we don't delete reviews.
Well, Cam's comment here was,
Bills of Steel won't post three-star reviews.
Hmm.
You know, like, and that is a selling point of Jim Radar
is that the only reviews that we've ever policed,
we will not police a review because it's good or bad at all.
Like, absolutely, that is not what we're policing reviews.
The only ones we've had to is where it's become obvious
that the person has never used the piece of equipment.
Yeah, or they're like spamming reviews.
And even there, like when we still are trying to take a hands off approach.
We have to be able to determine that the person has never used the piece of equipment.
And at times it's been asking the person,
have you actually use this piece of equipment.
You don't have to currently own it to leave a review.
You do have to have, I mean, it says it right on the site.
The minimum requirement is that you've used.
used it enough to be able to leave a review that's informative enough to give someone else
something like can you do so you know have you used it enough to be able to provide any kind of
value to someone else in a review that's our requirement so we will not take them down if they're bad
we will not take them down if they're good we will just take them down if you should have not ever
left a review on the product to begin with that's it and as of right now I mean there's I mean
how many reviews are we talking here there's 17,000 yeah just
Just about 18,000 reviews in the database.
So there's a lot, just about 18,000 on roughly 8,000 pieces of equipment.
So those numbers are getting big.
But talking about the feature release, this is where we got to put the disclaimer out there, Tanner.
People should know that going forward on this episode, this is the part where we are going to be honest and biased.
So strapping people, honest.
We're going to be biased here.
We're going to tell you how it is.
We made this damn machine.
We know the people who made this machine.
So make of that what you will.
But that's the disclaimer on it.
Well, we kind of know the people.
Yeah, I mean, we just are aware of their existence mostly.
Yeah.
But, all right, let's talk about two things.
I want to talk about variants first.
Because this is something that we just racked our brains over for way too long.
Not, not, you got to understand, once there's like 8,000 pieces and tons of reviews
and just all these connections in the database we've made, making changes to how things
are structured behind the scenes.
It's not as simple as,
well, you just do this and this.
It's like, yeah,
if no one used the website,
we could just do this and this.
But when you're making big changes...
We've got thousands of people using it
that have left reviews that have...
Yeah, and it's connected to their profiles
and their ownership and their review points.
Like, changing things does break things.
And the one glaring issue we had with mostly,
like, 10 rogue products was that...
Shortly after...
we built the website. I think initially when we built the site, some of this, okay, our first
problem is we didn't think, it's funny to say this, we didn't think people were going to
catalog every piece of equipment in their gym. We thought people would be like, oh, here's like
eight products I like in my gym. I'm going to add these and that'll be it. Man, were we wrong
immediately? And it was like, well, of course, yeah. Why would people only want to record eight products?
They want to do the whole thing. And somewhere along the line when we were adding pieces, because people
can suggest pieces to add to the database.
I'm pretty sure in the beginning we probably only had like the rogue 45 pound Ohio
power bar and probably the 20 kilo Ohio power bar.
At some point, someone had requested, hey, add the Syracote version, add the zinc
and chrome version, add the stainless, you know, and it was only on the Ohio power bars.
That basically didn't happen anywhere else on the entire website, but.
The Ohio Power Bar, the Ohio Bar, yeah.
I mean, those are the two candidates.
Yeah, we didn't have that issue anywhere else, any other brands,
but, you know, Rogue sells a ton of bars.
Rogue buyers can be very particular people.
And so at some point we had added those.
Well, what it did to the website, you know, it's not bad to have those,
but when people would look at our top equipment list, you know, you go to Jimrader.com
slash equipment and you click on barbells, we built these most owned lists that shows you
the most popular products in the database.
what it did is it put Texas,
the Texas deadlift bar at number one
with 161 gyms that owned it.
And then the Ohio Power Bar had like five variants split.
So like the Ohio Power would be,
the 45 pound Ohio Power Bar in Saracote
would be like number five with 50 gyms.
The Ohio Power Bar in zinc with chrome sleeves
would be number eight with whatever.
And so it wasn't really in the,
like it was like kind of towards the end of the top 10.
But then when you look collective,
it would have been the most popular one, but it was split between all these variants.
And we'll kind of skip the story, but eventually the conclusion we came to is we added this
variant system. So now when you click on the Ohio power bar, underneath the product title,
there is one, two, three, four variants. There's the Syracote, Bear, Steel, Black
Zink, and Ecoat options are all listed there. When you build your gym, you can just select the 45
pound version. It doesn't matter what variant you have. It's all going to be grouped on this.
because as far as we're concerned,
it's mostly the same bar value.
You're just changing the coating on that bar.
What's what we ended up doing when we came,
when tons of discussion around this.
A lot.
Both of us, tons of discussion.
And ultimately we had to make really hard and fast rules
of what we think constitutes a fully new product on the site.
Because if you look at it right now,
the 45 pound Ohio power bar is the number one most own bar.
If you look at number nine, someone might say, oh, the 45-pound Ohio Power Bar Barbar Stainless Steel.
Why did not you not aggregate that one as a variant?
We specifically decided that if the barbell is literally made out of a different metal,
it will become its own product in that case.
Or if it is a different weight, they're advertised like 45 versus 20 kilo.
Or you typically, along with different weight, it also means the different collar thickness.
That sort of thing.
That would warrant a new bar.
So there is the stainless steel version is separate.
Also, the 20 kilo version is separate.
Number 14, the 20 kilogram Ohio power bar dash black zinc.
And that one, you'd say, why does that one say dash black zinc in the title?
Why is black zinc separated out?
Well, that's because if you don't study this to the extent we have, you won't know that the 20 kilogram version
only comes in black zinc or stainless steel.
And so there is actually not to vary.
Based on the rule you just said,
if there's stainless steel,
that gets to be its own product
because it's a different metal.
So that's why that's split the way it is.
Yes.
And what I really like about the system we have there,
we have very clearly defined rules.
A, I believe they make sense.
B equally as important to that
is we can explain exactly the way they are,
the way they are.
And even if you had a slight disagreeance
of the way we chose to do that,
You could understand our rules.
There is logic there.
There is logic at this point.
Yes.
So that is the method we are going with forward.
And one other thing that we did apply that to as well was the racks.
That's another thing that's kind of unique to rogue.
You know, if you look at Rep, if you look at the most owned racks,
rep just if you're making a PR 5,000, you kind of just click on the PR 5,000 builder and you'd build that rack however you want it.
Bell's a steel.
If you want a one inch rack, you build a Mantikor rack the way you want it.
If you want a 5-A-inch rack, you build a hydro rack the way you want it.
Who else? Titan.
Yeah, Titan, if you want a, what's their, I can't never keep the tight.
If you want X3 series or T3 series?
Yeah, their T3 series, their X-3 series, and whatever the other one is, I can never remember Titans naming structure.
But the thing Rogue had going for them is Rogue names their actual rack setups.
you have your RM6, your RM4, RML, like, depending on the number of posts,
Rogue treats it as a different product, which is fine for the way they do it, but then when
we're playing this game of how to compare these, it doesn't really provide accurate numbers.
And at the end of the day, is a six-post rack, a totally different product than a four-post rack.
No, it's the same thing.
I mean, you can convert it by just adding posts and cross-members.
Like, it's not really good.
Literally the other companies have decided as far as their, the way that their site works, it's the same thing.
It's just your rack builder within the site.
Yeah.
And actually that is the biggest difference.
All the other companies have gone with a full on just build it from the ground up rack builder
where rogue still kind of shoehorns you into decide the number of posts you want before you start building.
So in the name of consistency, we did just consolidate all of the RM 3, 4, and 6 racks all together
into an RM monster rack 2.0 category.
Same thing for the RML.
There's just an RML monster light rack.
And so that, what that did is that took the.
monster rack from being like number eight and 11 on the list all the way up to number two
on the most popular racks.
Which is a more comparable list to look at at this.
It is more useful information and that's really what we wanted to provide here because
at the end of the day the stuff is a tool of I believe useful information for when people
are making decisions and the way it was before could potentially be misleading and now
we're looking at apples to apples.
So it's better.
I think it's better.
This variant discussion that we've had up to now
was like the more minor part of the change.
You know, this affected,
actually we thought that this was going to affect a lot of products.
And we got to it,
started making the list.
It's like,
no,
it's like these two rogue barbells and these two rogue racks
and everything else we kind of actually have right.
It's just these we need to fix.
So those are fixed.
Yeah.
And going forward,
we have a system we can build off of
if variant suggestions
come in.
But the larger change, the thing that took,
actually you don't even know.
We spent a lot of time on that variant thing for us,
few of products that actually affected.
It was more just like a mental block on that one to get to where we were.
And it wasn't, actually the solution we came to,
we had that solution very early,
but there was just a lot of technical things behind the scenes on,
how do we handle existing this and this?
And it was just dumb little, like,
just really fringe edge case things that we had to just make decisions on how to handle it.
But it ended up working out just fine in the end.
Yeah. So what was the more larger equipment characterization project?
Yes. The larger thing was when we originally built the site, we built equipment types.
Everything needed to be assigned to an equipment type.
And to recap on those, our equipment types are racks, machines, benches, cardio, dumbbells,
kettlebells, barbells, weight plates, rack.
well, actually, we had just attachments.
And then Strongman, miscellaneous, and storage.
Those were all of our top level categories.
And outside of that, once you got in that category, like machines, for example,
you just had 1,120 machines to look through.
Or, you know, cardio, you just had 370 machines you had to look through.
There wasn't a good way to filter through attachments.
We had rack attachments and cable attachments combined.
That was about 1,500.
products. So once you got in that category, it was really tough to like do something with it. And
we knew that from day one, but it was kind of one of those things where you just, you wanted to see what
happened. And we quickly realized, yes, like what we kind of had thought in the beginning, that
subcategories would be very, very helpful because this is like the first opportunity as far as we're
aware of on the internet to really like cross shop and compare a lot of this stuff. And so to get all of
this stuff from other manufacturers all in a grouping where you can really parse it make sense of it,
the need for subcategories became very, very obvious. And so what we did is we looked at each
category and when possible we tried to assign a subcategory. Every category has a few products that
they're just weird. They're just in a class of their own. They don't fit into an own,
their own subcategory of any kind. And so it's possible that, you know, like a shake weight in
miscellaneous. What subcategory does a shakeweight belong to? I don't know. We didn't assign it to a
subcategory. It just sits in miscellaneous. There's no subcategory for it. And there's some products
like that. But the miscellaneous category is the number one offender. But otherwise, a lot of,
like racks, I'm not sure if there's a rack in the rack category that doesn't have a
subcategory assigned to it. Same thing. Benches, dumbbells, kettlebells, barbells, weight plates,
Strong man.
I mean, most of these categories,
I'd say 98 plus percent of the products
have a subcategory assigned to them.
And the beauty of that now is,
let's take racks, for example,
when you go to look at racks,
so you have your racks selected,
like let's look at the subcategories for racks.
We have all in one trainer,
power rack, half rack,
squat stands, folding rack,
combo rack, and mono lift.
And if you're like trying to filter this down,
man, it just paints the picture of what actually exists in the world better than you could ever imagine.
I mean, really, really quickly, too.
Like it's just what, what seems like daunting where you're like, I don't know, there are so many choices.
How would I ever even like begin to really compare?
I'll just get the rogue one or whatever.
Yeah.
Now you're like, oh, no, there's actually not that many viable options.
Well, like, I mean, the popular stuff you know.
You're like, okay, yeah, we know there's a lot of power racks and half racks and even starting to be a lot of all-on-one trainers out there.
But like a good example, let's say you're interested in powerlifting.
You're like, I want to get a combo rack before.
What that would be is you might Google best combo rack, but it's combo racks.
There's not a ton of data out there on this.
You might watch some YouTube videos.
You might just like start Googling combo racks and see what pops up.
You're going to have a few tabs open to figure this out.
Like you're going to have, there's just no way around it.
You're going to be doing some research.
Right here at combo rack, we have 16 combo racks.
Is there more that exist?
probably can you pick them up new?
Probably not.
Like I feel like this really does paint the picture of what exists for combo racks currently
and even somewhat recently retired.
Doesn't it?
Yeah, it does.
Like there could be something out here, not here.
And if you own it, get on Jim Radar and request to add it.
And we will, if we are missing something, it'll be here really fast if you want it on here.
Yeah.
We're adding stuff all.
the time. The truth of the matter of something hasn't made it on here at this point,
not very many people own it. Yes. You know, like it's probably not super relevant. There aren't
relevant pieces that are missing at this point. Exactly. We see equipment requests come in every
single day. We're adding equipment almost every, assuming we're in front of the computers and have time.
We're adding equipment every day and it's all extremely obscure stuff at this point. It's usually
like there's one owner, maybe two at some point. But it's it's very, very, very,
rare or unusual or discontinued products are the primary items we're missing at this point.
Same thing.
I was just saying combo racks, like monoliths.
I don't know.
It kind of felt like, yeah, there's monoliths out there.
If you look at this, we got 11 monoliths in the database.
I don't think there's a whole lot more that are commercially available.
Like, yeah, maybe you have a buddy that will like whip one together if you'd pay the right price
and know the right guy, but you want to go out and buy a monolith.
There's really not that many on the market.
Right.
Right.
Yeah. Also not a lot of ownership of monoliths.
No, no. The most popular monolith is the elite FTS, regular monolith, not the deluxe, the regular monolift, and that is owned by four gyms.
I mean, collectively, seven, eight, nine, ten, eleven, twelve, thirteen.
Yeah. Collectively across all of Jim Radar, there's 13 model lifts that are owned. So it's a pretty rare product category.
And that's just, so that's just the racks, you know, like racks are, racks are,
racks are a relatively straightforward category.
If you get into machines,
that's one of the biggest subcategory sections.
We have like 20-ish subcategories.
And machines can get really tricky to categorize.
This was actually one of the ones we had the most debate about
of how the hell do you categorize machines.
And what we kind of settled on is sort of categorizing them by what the movement is.
You can't,
because you can't just say, like, it's really hard to just say,
take equipment manufacturers at the,
name of what the machine is because there's a lot of variance there.
And so I'll just run through like kind of what we have for some of these top level ones.
You got functional trainers, cable towers, digital resistance, Smith machines,
lap pull downs, row machines, leg press slash hash squat, belt squats, reverse hyper.
This next category was a bit of a compromise, but it kind of all does fit.
And that's the GHD slash Nordic slash hyper extension.
And there's about 15 more categories.
I won't read them all.
But if you're interested in any machine, there's a lot here.
Like we got a lot of them covered.
And no doubt machine category, there's a ton of just commercial stuff that exists throughout the years.
But that stuff is a little rarer than your piece that you're buying new from Freak Athlete.
Yeah.
So we did that with every single category.
They now have their own group of subcategory.
some of them were much simpler than others
like a very basic one is dumbbells
that's what adjustable dumbbells
fixed dumbbells or loadable dumbbells
yep and I'm not sure
almost every single dumbbell in the database
fits into one of those three
like there's very few if any that are left out of that.
Cattlebells are the same way we have adjustable kettlebells
fixed kettlebells and loadable pins
and basically everything fits there
barbells I think this is pretty illuminating on what the barbell
picture actually is this is what a barbells
as a barbell guy barbells is one of the most
interesting to me when it was done. I'm like, okay, I really like this. Like, this is actually
super useful. What, what was interesting to me is, like, part of me thinks that there's just a lot
of deadlift bars out there. And then we get done with this list and you realize, no, there's
28 deadlift bars and probably 10 plus of those are from companies that don't even really exist
anymore. And you realize, actually a deadlift bar isn't that common, apparently. Right. Yeah,
your options for, well, there's some less popular ones.
but really you don't have to go very far down the list to get really low ownership numbers.
And the Texas deadlift bar runs that category.
Well, just how funny this is, if you're looking at deadlift bars,
the number seven most popular deadlift bar is now the big techs deadlift bar,
which is owned by seven gyms.
And it's like an $800 bar that's been out for a week, essentially.
You know, so that just shows how much the deadlift bar numbers really drop off.
Yep.
Safety squat bars, though.
That's another one that's interesting.
You know, there's a ton of people it felt like that are always trying to do a safety squat bar.
And when you look in here, there is 36 of them.
So that shows there are a lot of people making attempts at it.
But it's another one of those where you see it's a very top heavy category.
Once you get past Titan.
Everyone's buying the top eight.
Yep.
Once you get past Titan Elite FTS rep, it really starts dropping off.
You know, there's bells of steel and Mars bar.
But man, after that, it's like, I don't know, take your pick, roll the dice.
Whatever's cheap, I guess.
it is also insane known as well known as not a good safety squat bar.
The rogue safety squat bar SB1 has eight gyms that own it is all on all of gym radar.
For a combined rating of 2.22.
I mean, that might be the,
why don't they just make that, why don't they just redo that and just do it good like everyone else does?
I don't know.
It's very surprising.
I mean, that might be the worst rated safety squat bar in here.
Yeah, it probably is.
That is surprising.
I don't know why.
Yeah, I don't know.
I'm not sure why.
Maybe there's a,
at this point,
if you out on a safety squat bar,
you got it.
Right.
So why are we even messing with it?
But yeah,
not known as being a
high quality option there.
Well,
and then the other thing I'd note
is we did switch
where we did separate
because we just kind of had attachments,
which became weird
because it was cable attachments
and anything you attach to your rack
was all within.
one main level category.
And those, we did get split out into the rack attachments and cable attachments,
which makes way more sense now when you're comparing things.
It does.
Like if you're,
and that's what we're trying to,
you know,
I always think of like,
what is the intent of the user when they're looking at it?
You know,
if you click on attachments,
I think,
you know,
we kept thinking people probably aren't necessarily thinking of the mammoth
belt squad when they're looking for attachments.
And that was what was popping up was one of the top ones.
So splitting them out does make a lot more sense.
And yeah,
now when you go look at cable attachments, you know, the top items are the rogue rotating V grip,
the sputting long abstrap, the rep fitness multi-grip curl bar, the angles 90 grips, the eclipse grip.
Like those are things you're thinking of when you think cable attachments.
And when you go to the list for subcategories, we have handle attachments,
lap, pull-down bars, row attachments, triceps, attachments, curl and arm attachments,
ankle lower body.
I can say the cable attachment one was tricky because cable attachments, especially as
of late have started turning more and more into a do all kind of item. And so, you know, there was
some debate as to where does this go? Where does it belong? In the end, we just tried to make a decision
and make sure all the like items were grouped together. But yeah, there was room for argument there,
but that's how it is when you have multi-purpose items. Also, we referenced, when we're going
through these subcategories, we reference basically every single equipment manufacturer page of how they
categorize their equipment.
And I will just say this.
They are literally all over the board.
Oh, yeah.
Every company does it different.
Everyone does it differently.
And like not a lot of them are uniformly good.
No, even equipment companies aren't even consistent within their own product catalog.
Right.
Right.
So we couldn't just model ours off.
of what someone else is doing because a lot of them are not,
you can tell that that's not like a large concern of theirs.
Well,
and most equipment companies have some gaps in their product catalog where,
where does this belong?
Where do they put it?
They don't put it anywhere because they don't make that product.
And so it is just this game of,
well, company X puts it here.
We have to categorize everything.
Yeah, yeah, like,
so you have to figure out what meshes with all of them
because, yeah, it just doesn't exist or it's,
it's not consistent.
Interesting about the rack attachments.
Okay, I actually really like, there's a few things in the rack attachments I like looking at.
One, I think it's so cool.
You know, I started my home gym a few years ago.
I remember thinking, oh, I need to get, I need some new J cups.
I need a second set of J cups.
Luckily, for me, I have a guy named Bremi that just sends a package in the mail and J cups show up.
But I do remember before that day happened being like, I want a set of J cups for bench and a set of J cups for a squat.
And they'll mostly be set.
They'll never really move.
And you start doing the Googling, the little.
looking of j cups finding these lists here and here and here and then well is that a five eighth inch
one is that a one inch one do they do what there's a lot of looking now how you just go to rack
attachments and click j cups and the list there is 92 different j cups in this database and man does it
just show you right there what people are actually spending their money on and it's it is
interesting seeing how that actually goes yeah yeah also now you can you
Those ghost roller jacups, man, they sold a lot of those back in the day, didn't they?
They did.
Yes.
They really did.
I have those.
People don't typically use those at the gym.
No.
Well, also because, I mean, they're on the rack.
Do people, I don't like that.
I don't like a return roller for squatting because I don't like the bar.
That's what I don't.
Nobody uses that for squat.
And then our people at my gym don't bench out of there.
So I suppose that's why.
I suppose people use them for benching out of the rack.
I could see how they,
be nice for like for my setup as a bench only jacup but right i do i do think that the new
bremi jacup is just the roller j cups are a superior design still that's the cat's meow yeah
yeah they're the real deal um what else do we go well and then the same thing like there is some
just uh obscure i shouldn't say obscure but less popular items you know oh it wasn't too long ago
in this podcast we had a radar report about dip attachments and there's a whole
whole dip attachment section.
We have a lever arm section.
You can see how not popular
those products actually are.
And how no one likes them.
They're all grouped right there for you,
which is kind of cool to see.
What else was one in here?
The landmines, okay, this is one
I would like to talk about.
Landmines and landmine attachments are a weird one
because landmines can be rack attached
or they can be not rack attached.
and freestanding and all types of landmine attachments.
They can be landmine attachments, but they might be cable attachments,
but they might just be landmine attachments.
And so our way around that was just anything landmine related,
all went in this category, which happened to go in the rack attached category.
So that one, I will totally admit, is a bit of a compromise,
but that's just the nature of that category.
Yeah.
Yeah, miscellaneous also in general is one where things get a little bit weirder,
and we probably have the most things un-categorized and miscellaneous
because it sort of is a catch-all still.
Even with 10-15 subcategories within miscellaneous,
it's still,
some things still get a little tricky when trying to put them in a home.
They do.
But for the first time ever,
you can go to the collars category and see 113 collars
and find out what collars people are putting in their home gyms.
I like that category a lot.
The other one that I really enjoyed,
was the, like magpins.
It's such a dumb one, you know,
magpins, but here it is.
There's 27 megpins in the database that.
Yep. Fringe sport absolutely runs away with it too.
They do. They crush it.
They got a lot of those things out there.
The other thing that I think is nice is,
I don't, there's not, I don't know that there's a way to get to these at this point yet,
but they do exist. The pages exist is the most.
owned pages. You know, they all exist for the most own top line categories. Oh, yeah, no, no. It's on the site now.
So go to equipment, Tanner. Yeah. And then just scroll down. And then. Oh, yeah. Yep. So, so, yeah, what Tanner's
going to say here is, um, traditionally. Yeah, yeah, yeah, if you click on one of them then. Yeah. Okay. Yeah.
Yeah. What we've had on the website is when you click on the equipment tab, you can start an equipment search.
The search box is there. But what we've had is the top level category is broken out. And it'll tell you how many
items are in that category.
And if you click on it, it will show you the top 20 list for that category.
And that's been just great for seeing what's popular.
But now if you scroll down past the top level categories, we now have every category listed
with their subcategories.
So if you want to see, you know, if you want the pre-made list for what is the most popular
all-in-one trainer, or right here, there's a 152 all-in-one trainers.
And here are the top 20 most popular.
and how many exist in gyms on the site.
Same thing, you know, most popular digital resistance machine.
We only got 14 of them listed.
Believe it or not, the Voltra is number one.
But, yeah, you can just scroll down through all these categories.
I think, Tanner, what do we say when we're all said and done?
There's 150.
Yeah, there's like, yeah, counting categories and subcategories.
There's like 150 on the website.
I think just subcategories.
There's like 135.
something like that.
So there's a lot.
There's a lot there.
And if you're an equipment nerd, a home gym nerd in any way,
man, I just, maybe my bias is coming through here,
but I don't know how you couldn't get sucked into this for hours on end.
Especially if you're really considering buying something.
Yeah.
Yeah.
There's a lot in here.
And it just makes it so clear.
It's like X-ray vision as to, I mean, there's no doubt.
some market research that could easily be done looking through here.
You know, if you, if you're like trying to reverse engineer, what's popular, what's an
underutilized category, where are people spending big money on premium products, where
are people cheaping out?
Like, there is some hidden messages in this, no doubt, if you spend the time doing it.
That's kind of what the radar report weekly segment is trying to shine a little bit of light on.
I guess that's why they call it Jim Radar.
I guess that's why.
Yes, that was our big update.
And we're not done doing updates.
We're still...
We're just getting started.
Yeah.
We got things in the works that I would say are larger than this.
You know, things in the pipeline coming up that are even bigger than this.
But this was something we wanted to get done because this is kind of like, this is kind of like,
table stakes or just something.
It feels very foundational to how the site works.
Right. Right.
This is just like what makes it so useful at its core.
And when this is right, which I think it is quote unquote right now,
everything else can build off of that a little bit stronger.
There was also-
I don't think we had it wrong before,
but this is just much more right.
Yeah, there was also like some people on the internet
were like complaining about how like Jim Ray are just could be better.
Like there was some gaps missing.
Yeah.
We've addressed the gaps.
So we've addressed the known issues.
It's done.
Yes.
Do those same people care?
Probably not.
But we did it.
The point is we did it.
It's fixed.
It was like one day in the home gym discord,
there was all this complaining about, you know,
it was something to do with the categories and stuff like that.
It was like the variance,
how the things weren't,
which we were aware.
We were aware of all these things, like we said.
It was like, no, this is a valid,
this is on our list and we're going to fix it.
And then once it's fixed and I think it's really cool now,
I go back in there to show them and be like,
hey, check it out.
We fix this.
And it's like,
You know the thing, all the pitchforks were,
you know, there was all the pitchforks.
I was talking about how bad it sucked because the variants weren't counting right.
We fixed that.
Crickets.
Yeah.
No one cares.
I care, damn it.
Dude, I care.
This is, it's nice.
Like I, just the other day.
Like right here, here's a good example.
I pick up a little axle, little axle bar for myself the other day.
And I'm thinking, I need a place to store this thing because right now all of my bars are
stored on my rack.
I don't have a gun rack on the wall.
And if I'm going to store an axle bar,
no one really makes the little vertical hangy for an axle,
you know,
it's too big.
So I'm like,
well,
you need the one,
the prop underneath,
you know,
the little like sleeve that it sits into.
You just go to storage,
browse by storage type.
You go to barbell storage and immediately you can just get the picture on
what is out there for it.
Like it was such an easy thing.
And I saw,
about the second most popular axel.
Actually, well, maybe we can talk about that in a little bit here.
But yeah.
Yeah, so it's just like there's, if you have very obscure or specific needs and wants,
oh, this just narrows it down so fast and it's just so helpful to find these things.
That is why they call it Jim Radar.
That's why the gym radar guys call it that.
Did you add the 20 kilogram fat axle to your gym?
I'm pretty sure I did.
pretty yeah yeah yeah i did i did yes yep yep i did immediately after i bought it it hadn't even
so it was 50% off though right yeah well i mean okay do we just need to talk about it now yeah
press them yeah all right so yeah fringe had their garage sale where they put a lot of
um items for 50% off and you know there's people to discord chat and saying things and i actually had
had an axle bar on my, my mental wish list for a while. I mean, I really like the Texas.
That axle would be sweet. I don't use it. I just know I won't be using an axle a ton so the
idea of spending like, what is it, 600 bucks or something. Yeah. That was a little tougher one for me.
I'm not saying the bar's not worth it. Just in my use case when I'm not going to be using it a whole
lot, 600 bucks. There's an opportunity cost with that that, that I could spend some of that money and
other things. So I had just thought, oh, when this meat is done, it would be cool.
have an axle, but the other thing with an axles,
I don't want one where I got to do goofy math.
You know, Tanner?
You know what I'm saying?
I don't want an axle that weighs 18 and a half pounds.
And I got to figure out what the hell.
I just want to put plates on and do regular bar math is what I want to do.
And I had done zero research on this.
I'd never looked to do it at all.
And then the other day in the Discord,
people were like, oh, Fringes running a garage sale,
50% off on their 20 kilo axle.
And immediately I'm like, 50% off.
Axel, 20 kilo?
Like, yes, yes, yes.
This is marking all the boxes here.
And then people even said,
and also there's lines painted
on the center
and where the neuromarks go.
Like, it's all there.
It doesn't show it on their website,
but it's there because if you read it.
It doesn't show it, does it?
If you read the gym radar reviews,
you would know that this exists.
And I went, the axle was $100.
I took a bit of a gamble at first
because their product page
was not lining up with,
the product page said two different things,
but I rolled the dice.
They didn't fix the product page after I bought it.
But yeah, it showed up crazy.
I ordered it Wednesday afternoon.
It was here on Friday.
That is fast.
I could have sworn you said you ordered that
and like three hours later you took a picture of it in your gym.
I'm like, didn't you order that this morning?
I ordered it Wednesday afternoon and it showed up like Friday at like two in the
afternoon.
It was here in less than 48 hours.
I don't know.
Do they ship from Texas?
I guess Texas to South Dakota.
It's just straight north.
You know, it's not that far.
They just sent it up two.
81 and boom.
They do it.
It's right there.
And I got it.
I did some overhead pressing with it yesterday.
And for $100, I think it's a pretty dang good axle.
Yeah.
For an alternative, the most owned axle on Jim Radar is the Titan one.
It costs $100, but it's a 24 pound axle.
So it's half the weight.
I mean, and one of the reasons is, well, you said, well, it's nice because it actually weighs what a bar
weighs.
So that's good.
but also tells me there's twice as much metal in that axle.
Twice as much something.
Could be pee gravel or sand.
I don't know what they're put in it,
but it weighs more is what I'm trying to say.
Right.
It's more substantial, presumably, if it weighs twice as much.
But this is what we could see in real time.
When you go to the axle barcategory underneath barbells,
axle bar on Jim Radar,
before this weekend or before Wednesday,
when I'm trying to look up the 20 kilo fat axle from Fringe
sport. I think it was in like number nine. There was like 15ish gyms that owned it. It was not
very popular. And all of a sudden, it's not owned by 30 gyms and it's the number two most popular
Axel. It jumped the charts big time this weekend. Oh, that's actually kind of funny too to see
that, like especially in Jim Radar being six months old, that's more possible for it to happen.
The older this gets the harder and harder that will get to be able to
change.
Well, and the axle category.
It's rated highly actually, too.
It's got quite a few reviews.
Yeah, yeah, it is.
And the axle category is interesting because the number one is the Titan and it's owned by 86
gyms.
And after that, numbers two through numbers like 10 or yeah, or mostly all in the 20s down
to like 13.
So just a few owners here and there can really bump those numbers or in the case of
fringe adding like 12 people will make you climb to second in the charts.
Yeah, mine are 10.
I'm got, I'm at 10 and 11 on the list.
Well, actually, no.
I'm at four 10 and 11 on the list.
Oh, yeah, because you have the Texas.
Yep.
The Black Widow and the Avalon's Ironman.
Avalon's axle.
You know, your standard,
your standard axles that most people expect.
The Texas fat axle,
the Black Widow 2 inch neural
and the Iron Mind axle, you know.
The $400 Apollon's Axel Iron Mind.
Actually, probably the crazier deal, though,
on that fringe,
was their stubby axle,
22 pound version.
That thing was like $60 on sale.
That is cheap.
That's a can't afford not to scenario right there.
I mean,
one of them is can't afford not to.
Some people probably about both.
I don't know,
but I was good with just one.
And I went with the full size big boy.
You were good with the plain ones.
I was.
Yep.
Should we kick everyone out?
Oh my God,
they're still in here?
Yeah, let's get their asses of.
What the hell?
They got to go.
Get out of here.
While we're kicking everyone out.
We'll see some of you guys at home gymcon maybe.
Yeah, well, that already happened.
We saw some of you guys at home gymcon.
Yeah, it was great seeing you.
This week's episode is brought to you by Barefoot Shoes.
Speaking of Home GymCon,
it's great catching up with the Bearfoot team at Home GymCon.
And now you can catch up with them at Barefoot.
Dot Store.
Hopefully they got something left.
People were buying their shoes like crazy at Home JimCon.
I think every other person I saw in that Louisville, Kentucky building was wearing.
It was either that or shacknosis.
That's just all everyone had on.
It was either barefoot shoes or shacknosis.
It's crazy what the home gym crowd does to people's footwear choices.
Yeah.
Very extreme.
I want nothing or the most.
Everyone either went the lightest, widest toebox, most comfortable best for your feet option with barefoot.
or the largest clunkiest
hottest, most material
possible, heaviest shoe.
Like, why did that make your foot look
like six times thicker?
It's because, like, my foot is six times thicker.
Why is your footprint,
no pun intended, like the footprint of your foot,
just like your leg goes in and then the foot
and it will turn your foot into a square.
Your footprints are now square.
That's what Shaq knows.
If you don't want that, if you want something a little sleeker,
a little better for your foot healthy,
you can go to barefoot not the store.
You discount code Masonomics.
They don't have shagnosis.
You also can't buy the very ultra-limited edition,
horse doll mat, sole boots.
But they did dare me to wear those to Home GymCon.
I'm going to try them on and see if it's possible.
See, the thing, it's not just you have to wear them to Home GymCon.
You also have to pack them.
carry them through the airport with you to home gym con, which is almost a task in itself.
That's the problem with Shaqnosis.
They take up a lot of big space.
That's why you have to wear those.
That's the beauty of it is you have to wear those, but the beauty of barefoot shoes is they don't take up any room.
So those are the easy ones to pack.
You have to wear the bulky ones, you know.
I kind of like barefoot shoes for traveling, though, because they're just a real nice.
Oh, it's way more comfortable for sure.
Yeah, yeah.
All right.
Thanks, barefoot.
are we going to do a little supporting our supporting members?
Yes, let's do it.
Okay, this is a relatively new segment to the podcast.
I think this is just the 39th time that we've done this here in season two of the show,
supporting our supporting members.
So we have a Massonomic supporting membership program,
and you might be asking, what the heck is this?
You hear us talk about the Hall of Fame, supporting members, the crew,
any of those things.
We're talking about our supporting membership program.
you can find out more about it at massonomics time.com slash join.
That's where you can get signed up.
We have multiple options there.
There's going to be something for everyone.
For as little as 10 cents a day,
that was the price of a cup of coffee
when we used to be a proper country.
You could become a supporting member.
And one of those things you get,
there's too many things.
I'm not going to name it all.
I'm just going to tell you the one
is you could get on supporting our supporting members
like these people this week,
La Flamablanca,
Blanca, 17-year marriage PR.
Oh, very good.
Big Baller, USAPL Omega Powerfest meet.
PR's in every single lift.
Nice.
Big Andrew was recognized at work with the certificate of recognition
for exhibiting the company core value of integrity.
Oh, now that's the type of people that we like having on the TV.
That's some highest level of achievement type stuff.
That's some Dale Carnegie highest level of achievement.
Keep that attitude up.
The sky's the limit.
You two could be a highest level of achiever.
Big Love Lady officially ended his cut via macro factor.
He lost 85 pounds, starting at 275, going down to a chiseled 190 pounds.
Now he's going to do a slow, gradual increase as he tries to add more muscle mass to his now.
jacked frame.
Is he going to do a slow increase back to 270?
Really try it out again.
All right.
Do it all back.
That's awesome, though.
Yeah, that's how you get sliced and diced.
And he did utilize macro factor.
Which time, are you still on macro factor?
Oh, hell yeah.
Actually, full disclosure.
Honesty here.
We're all about honesty on this show.
After the meet.
After the meet, I take a week off
and then we're going to home gym con.
So hold it against me.
I'm technically taking two weeks off a macro factor.
So you haven't been tracking this week?
I've not been tracking.
You know,
the last-
You've been tracking your body weight?
No, not even stepped on.
Actually, I have stepped on the scale,
but I checked today.
I was down some weight.
You know,
if I don't have the pressure on me,
I'm losing pounds.
So that's what I was going to ask if you're down to your pounds.
Yeah, I did check that.
I was down a few pounds.
But, you know,
that last, especially the last meet,
or last month leading into the meat,
things are really dialed.
in, like really just trying to make things as perfect as possible.
And I'm like, you know what?
I'm good taking a little week or two break here.
Yeah.
But if you do want to use macro factor, what's our discount code for that?
Masonomics.
Use it and abuse it.
And you get a few weeks free to try it out.
I would seriously try it.
If you're at it all on the fence, do the free trial for a few weeks.
And you'll know by then if you want to use it more.
And it's, you decide to continue.
It's not expensive.
A year of it is really affordable for what you get for it.
I don't know if it's like $50 to $80 for a year or somewhere in there.
Yeah, it's like $60-ish.
Yeah.
It's like $5ish a month.
Yes.
It's definitely worth that.
Like it is, if it's in your budget, if something you want to try,
if you've never really done any tracking before,
if you have with an inferior product,
it's kind of game change.
changing if that's something you want to try to do.
Big Ben,
big Jen,
big Jess,
big Mo.
We're all on our drunken uncle podcast,
half-baked thoughts on training to recap the Lift Hard,
live-easy classic,
2026.
And then we're recording so early this week,
unpaid and underrated,
hasn't come out,
but they're going to have a Lift-Hard,
live-easy recap episode also, I believe.
So all kinds of Lift-Hard,
live-easy recap episodes.
I think we're recording one.
talk about this in the pre-show or on the show. We're recording one tomorrow with
Rusty from starting strength. I think we're going to talk
about the Lift Hard Live Easy Classic there. I just got my
copy of the Rapid City of Chris Hornick's newspaper
for Rapid City. Nice.
With our print article in there. I think I have one coming
my way, so I'll just keep checking that mail.
And you can read that article also. I just want to make sure I
I don't think it costs anything to read it on.
I don't think it does.
Okay.
Because I read it.
I didn't pay any money.
Okay.
And I'm just to make sure it's the Rapid City Post, right?
Sounds correct.
It's the Rapid City Gazette.
No, I know that's right.
I think it is the Rapid City Post.com, right?
I think so.
Okay.
Check it out.
Rapid CityPost.com, that's right.
I'm like 99% sure now.
Okay.
Are we going to do a certified training facility of the week?
We are.
God, I am struggling because I keep finding good ones here.
And I'm just not sure what one to go with because these are all so good.
Too many good certified training facilities of the week, it sounds like.
Yeah, man.
It's like when every gym on this website is so awesome, like how do you pick just one?
You know what I'm saying?
You almost can't.
That's the thing.
You almost can't.
That is the problem.
God, you're going to make me pick one now, aren't you?
Yeah, we've got to do one.
Just one?
Like we can't do like five this week?
We can only do one certified training facility.
Oh, man.
This is the toughest part of the week for me every week because picking one means there's
hundreds of people that don't.
get to get picked, you know.
Thousands.
Well, actually, yes.
But, okay.
Let me go, let me go back to my, the first one I had pulled up here.
We are going to go with, and the other thing I do, too, is I look at the gyms, because
we've looked at all of them so many times.
And I think, oh, yeah, we've definitely done certified training facility the week on this.
And then I'll look down and realize we haven't, but I've just looked at them so many times
that I assume we have done them all.
I think we're going to do.
Oh, just a second.
Okay.
I like to check and make sure they've actually added equipment,
which this person has,
because that makes it tougher to do when they haven't done it.
This week,
oh, I got to record this, though.
So I have it for the YouTube video.
Tanner, this week we are looking at
Big Mats International House of Power.
Got it.
Okay, Big Mats.
International House of Power.
If you are playing along at home, you can now refresh,
and you will see that that has been given the certified training facility of the week badge
and the extra points that go wrong with it.
Yep, there it is.
Oh, my screen recorder's fighting me here.
Give me one second.
Okay.
Okay.
I'm leaving Matt.
You can comment on people's gyms on gym radar.
I'm going to leave a comment there that says,
you just made certified training facility of the week.
All right, Big Matt's International House of Power.
We ready to check this thing out.
Yep.
All right, we're in Topeka, Kansas.
You ever been there before, Tanner?
I don't think so.
I've not either.
I've been through Kansas, but never in Topeka.
We're not in Kansas anymore, Dorothy.
No, we are not.
This gym was established in 2020.
It's a strength training, powerlifting,
bodybuilding garage gym.
And the owner is Big,
M-Flow 785.
He joined Jim Radar February 23rd.
So he was on the ball.
He was on it.
We'd like to see that.
He has his Instagram profile linked here.
So if you want to shoot him some DMs or follow him, you can do that as well.
Featured equipment.
All right.
Look at that thing.
Close your eyes.
Picture these in your mind.
We have a rep, A, B, 5200, a Titan T3 series power rack.
Rep Equalizer, Iron Plates, the repins, the fringe 20 kilo axle.
It's right there.
There is.
Titan fitness, rackable easy curl bar,
the GMWD, heavy duty leg press hack squat machine,
and the freak athlete hyperpro, all listed.
Top equipment brands, number one is Titan, number two,
Masonomics, oh, you love to see it.
And number three is rep.
And he has 61 pieces of equipment cataloged in his gym.
And he's even left a review on the,
one review.
On the Titan seated stationary bench.
which is like your little utility, you know, like 90-degree bench,
which I think is actually a pretty...
Didn't Matthew have this one in Detroit?
He might have.
Seems like a pretty decent utility bench option.
I feel like this thing gets pretty good reviews, actually.
Yep.
Because not a lot of people make that style of bench either.
Right.
Oh, he's got one comment on the gym from Big Aaron.
Love the gym.
Hit me up if you ever in Kansas City.
and need a place to train.
Oh, look at these guys.
Making connections.
Building community.
That's Jim Radar for you.
Okay, should look at these pictures?
Yeah.
What I say?
We're in a garage here.
What kind of garage are we looking at?
So, oh, I see a mini split on the wall.
So right away, you know this guy's all about being comfortable.
Yeah, you don't want to get too hot or cold down there in Kansas.
I can see a lot of Massonomics,
flags and banners on these walls in here.
And I can see a certified training.
facility flag in the background.
I can also see on his breaker box cover,
totally covered in massonomic stickers and magnets.
See that, Tanner?
Yeah, you love to see that.
That's nice.
But actually, if we're going to look at the equipment, though,
we've got a weight tree out front.
There's a curl.
That curl bar has some aggressive curls.
You know what curl bar that is?
Is it the Rackable Titan one?
No, this is a short one.
I'm not sure.
It kind of reminds me of that, you know,
at Antonio, he had that,
York one that was like crazy bands. It kind of looks like it just looks way newer but it has those
big curvy bends like that. Right. So I'm not sure what that one is. What else do we got?
We can see the rack. Does he have a VTS? Yeah, he's got a VTS on that thing.
What do we say it's a Titan rack? Yeah, that is the Titan T3 series power rack.
Okay. And he's got a it's got a cable stack of some kind in the back of that.
thing. I'm not sure exactly what the setup is there. Maybe I need to look at the next photo.
Well, the next photo's got Jim Radar and Home Gym. Or flags. Oh, he also has a nice collection
of the 8-bit. I don't know what those are. Looks like he's printed those himself, which,
you know, technically it's bootleg, but it is cool on the wall, so let it slide. It does look good.
It does look good. That's a nice Massonomics corner. I got to give it to me. And he's got
York Roundheads down there, too. The description, when you want to
every flag, but you run out of wall space.
Oh, yeah.
Feel the pain.
Yep.
Well, let it slide.
Yeah.
Looks like he's bought in a fair share of things.
Actually, I like on photo number three.
Do you see up on the rafters there on the floor, or the ceiling?
He's got the shake weight hanging from the ceiling.
Yes, I do.
And he's got like the shape weight box even with it.
I like that.
That's a good touch.
That is a really good touch.
What else can we see here?
We got a treadmill.
the freak athlete thing.
We got a TV,
the Huck Finn,
deport anyone that can't bench their bodyweight banners there.
Oh,
he's got a 3D printer in the garage too.
Well,
I wonder if these signs are 3D printed actually.
Like what ones?
Like those 8-bit ones.
Oh,
you think so?
Look at the gym radar
and the massonomics ones above that.
Those are three-dimensional to me.
Could be,
yep, yep.
Okay.
Next photo.
Yeah,
we got the corner of the gym again.
now we have some machines here
Oh does he have mirrors on his garage door
That's kind of a cool look
See that?
Oh yeah
Oh yeah that's cool
And then we've got like a hip thrust machine
And what's this one?
Is it just like a row
Like a chest supported row kind of
Is that what I'm looking at there?
That white and black one then
Yeah
Let me see what he's got for machines listed
I'm gonna be curious what that one
And then yeah in the corner you can see
The GMWD leg press hack squat
That's a your
Yukon Fitness angled back machine.
Oh.
That is an interesting piece.
Yeah, that glute bridge plate loaded hip thrust is signature fitness.
Okay.
And then we know about that GMWD leg press.
Yeah.
Oh, he has a 3D printed.
Edmund Fitzgerald sitting there.
Oh.
It's like the same one.
Wow, we have one of those also that we got from Onon, right?
Yep.
That's great.
Like that.
he's got an old school garbage can
he's got an Oscar the Grouch garbage can
yep it's got WDAF sticker on it too
it really beat someone over the head with that one
a lot of bars a lot of bars hanging on the wall
and in the little holder on the ground you can see the
repens back there
oh we got the
pegboard with all types of stuff we got our router
we got a power strip we
got cable attachments,
Versa grips,
mag grips.
There's a lot of stuff there.
Yep.
Nice little handy little storage area.
I think that is.
Oh, he's got this functional trainer too.
What kind of functional trainer is that?
Do we know?
Oh, no, I'm not sure what that is.
Okay.
It looks like a commercial-ish piece.
Yeah.
I don't know what that is, though, actually.
I can see some darko danglers on that.
thing. Oh, they're dangling. Oh, he also has the nice, nicely framed
horse tall mat coasters on the wall too with the card and the sticker it came with are all
framed on the wall. Do you see that? Is that in the last picture? It's on the picture with the,
yeah, in the last photo, underneath the certificate. Oh, yeah, nice, in the shadow box.
Very nice. With the certificate and then there's the stickers on are the car. He has the,
is that a gold drink spotter sticker? Is that the gold drink spotter? And then the,
the cottage cheese and the freestyle.
Yeah.
It's a good collection.
Yes.
Wow, what a gym.
Do you think if you were into Matt,
Big Matt's International House of Power,
that you could get strong in this gym.
Let me think.
Oh, yeah, I think so.
Hell yeah.
People keep asking me if we can get strong
in Big Matt's International House of Power.
And yeah, I'm thinking we could get strong
and Big Nats International House of Power
home basement gym.
In the garage.
Oh, it's not a basement. It's at the garage.
But yeah, I'm thinking we could.
Yeah, Big Matt's got a ton of good
massonomics memory.
He does have a lot of massonomics stuff.
I had to check his actual name on here.
I'm like, oh, that's why I do definitely know that name.
Yep, Big Matt.
This would be a great gym to tour in person someday.
I know.
Love to give that a little tour,
take a little peek behind the meat curtain
that he's got going on there.
I just have to make it way down south.
Yeah.
Okay, we did certified training facility of the week.
Also this week, I was going to ask you about your post because people were talking about in the Discord after we rolled out of the Lyft Hard vZ Classic.
Oh, yeah.
People were talking about what they're doing for post-meat training.
That's always a common topic of discussion.
That is.
Are you on, you said you're not on the macro factor.
You took a macro factor break.
Yep.
Well, I always the week after a meet, I personally do, the last thing I want to think about is what my program is going to be for at least a week or two.
So I hit the Peloton pretty hard a few times last week.
That was nice because leading up to the meet, the meat, especially the month before, I'm not wasting any energy on the Peloton.
So I hit that pretty hard last week a few times.
Got in the gym and I kind of just do, I don't know, bro sessions, high rep stuff.
where I'm hitting arms,
hitting some squats,
some higher volume,
keeping it pretty light
because it just got done
with the meat.
And by the end of the,
by the time of meat's done,
I'm usually feeling a little
kind of burnt out,
beat up,
worn out.
So I just need a physical
and mental break.
I cannot.
I saw some guys
were already just right back
in the swing of things.
And I'm just like,
dude,
maybe I'm just too old.
I can't,
I can't get right back
into it like that.
I don't have it in me.
Getting too old for that.
Dude,
I think I am.
If you said go out,
you're going to have to start
reping 400 pounds,
plus pounds,
a deadlift, be like, nope, just can't do it.
Just do not have.
Start throwing the dirt on me now.
This is it.
Throw the dirt on me.
I'm done.
I need just a little bit of time.
So I, yeah, like I said, the week after, I'm just kind of doing whatever.
And then now we have home gym con this week.
So, you know, it's like five days.
Not worrying about training at all during that.
We got to track down those gym radar guys is what we got to be worried about.
That's exactly.
Cram and lifting in.
every day before home gym con because i'm like well i'm not going to lift from like
wednesday through sunday so i've been getting my full weeks in prior to that and that's kind of how
we are we're never big uh lifting and traveling guys well the biggest reason is every time we're
traveling we're working the entire time yes it's a free time's at an absolute minimal so um yeah so i won't
do that and then we'll get back next week and my training has just been garbage for the last two weeks
so next week i'll probably just kind of do whatever and then i'll probably start a bridge
block.
Yep.
Because bridge blocks are fun to mix it up a little bit.
And when I start that bridge block, we've talked about this several times.
I will intentionally do almost whatever I can to avoid just the straight up comp versions of lifts.
Right.
Whatever that.
Yeah.
I mean, SSBs, axle bar, whatever.
I'm just going to try to avoid comp version of the lifts in any way that I can.
And you think you'll consider training like the mantra training.
insane or remain the same?
You know, I've actually thought about that.
I've been thinking about it.
We'll see if I can actually make myself do it.
I might just remain the same.
I don't know.
But sometimes remaining the same isn't all that bad if I'm being honest.
It's all that bad.
But, you know, when I look at the power that she meets last few years,
I have technically not remained the same.
So I must be training insane because things have been going off.
By default.
The numbers are there.
Can't lie.
Could you also train insane?
parentheses got worse.
Like, you didn't remain the same.
Like, train insane or remain the same.
Those are your two choices, but could you train insane?
Got, yeah.
You didn't remain the same.
You know, like a crazy person.
Just do stupid stuff.
That's very likely to, yeah, you could do that.
I think there's a lot of people.
And say, parentheses, got worse.
Yeah, I think, you know, they get hurt.
You know, do just stupid exercises.
Yeah, I think there's a lot of people that is how they train.
train insane and got worse.
So then remaining the same doesn't seem all that bad.
The same isn't terrible in that scenario.
Remain the same, I think, is better than middle of the road.
I mean, I know it is middle of the road by default,
but if you had your chance options of getting worse,
remain the same.
The thing that's tricky.
The thing that's tricky about lifting, though,
is that the default is not remaining the same.
The default actually is getting worse.
Like taking two weeks off, or a month off, you do get worse.
You don't remain the same.
It's not like you just took a month off of work and you just saw the son suck at your job.
You just show up.
You're like, well, yeah, it's the job that I do.
I don't have to do here.
But yeah, you take a month off of training, you will get worse at it.
You know, maybe it takes you only a week to get back to it.
But you will be worse for a little bit.
So are you saying if you're not getting better, you are getting worse?
No, I think I'm.
Just saying if you're not at least staying the same.
If you're not at least staying the same, then you're getting worse.
It's hard to, it would be hard to just accurately stay the same.
Actually, I don't know.
I think some people do it pretty well for years on end, actually.
Well, that's true.
They're at such a low baseline.
Like, it's easy to stay the same when your baseline is low.
I'd say most people, that is their hope in the gym is they can just stay the same.
Like, that is their goal.
Right.
But that's easy to do when your baseline.
Like when you've never tried that hard.
You're not like programming.
It doesn't crust your mind at all.
Because a lot of times I'm like, damn, I work really, really,
I have to work really hard in the gym to stay the same.
Well, that's what I feel like I was just crushing it and bench all year.
And I'm like, man, that's to like, for what?
I know.
I know.
Just almost died.
That was actually how I felt from about January until May of this year.
I'm like, God.
I'm just killing myself.
And it feels like I'm doing everything I can to just keep my head above water here.
And luckily in the end, it kind of came together for me.
It did.
Yeah.
Also not perfectly.
No, that's what I'm saying.
Like, it kind of did.
Like I thought my bench was actually rocking pretty good.
And it's like, no, I actually did worse than last year, actually.
Train insane, parentheses got worse.
Yeah.
Yeah, did it.
Kind of.
I lived that life.
Yeah. Not really got worse, though.
I know.
It is the thing of when you do a meet, you know, it's the ultimate thing of you got to show up on meat day.
You know, it's gym, you know, gym lifts.
You can wait until the perfect day and the perfect moment and the perfect timing.
But on meat day, you got to be there.
I always thought, though, it will be there on meat day.
Well, I mean, it was.
Like in the scheme of things, it actually was there on meat table.
It wasn't not.
It wasn't not there.
It could have been more there, but it wasn't not there.
they never said how much it will.
They never said how much it will be there every day.
That is the clarification.
Yes, it never really did say the exact amount.
It never specified like to what extent.
Like it will be there to some amount.
Just roll with it.
You know, just take what you get.
Yeah.
Okay.
So that's the post-meat training outlook and plan of attack.
X number of days out till Lyft Hardly v.
5.
so you can't really hold back now.
I can't.
No, it's crazy.
It's just around the corner.
People don't know this.
We're actually moving it to August of 2026.
It's going to be about a month from now.
We moved it up.
Could you imagine that?
If we had to do the lift,
hardly of easy again in like a month.
It would like 10 people there.
I would also just have you start throwing the dirt on you now.
No, I'm out.
Throw the dirt on myself.
I quit.
Not doing that.
the lift hardly Vee is not in open powerlifting yet.
I think someone asked about that, but it's been submitted.
So we'll be on the lookout for seeing those numbers in open power lifting.
I think it'll supposed to happen.
I don't know how things work over there, but we kind of,
ever since we quit doing the open power lifting stand of the week,
we kind of lost ties on that.
So, yeah, it's 20.
I think it'll work itself out eventually.
Yeah.
Maybe they'll make a springback open power lifting stand of the week.
I wouldn't be against it.
Gotta have them provide us with us.
Well, yeah, they've got to provide us with them.
But I wouldn't be against talking about some numbers.
Bit of a dry spell on the open powerlifting set of the week at this point.
Relatively old segment at this point, you could say.
Did you go to a crew wedding?
I went to a little crew wedding this weekend.
Big Bryce got.
Crew Falls.
Big Bryce got married in Crew Falls.
You know,
the Lyft Hardly Vee was his bachelor party.
It was.
And this was the wedding.
And it was pretty fun.
Unfortunately, I couldn't stay super late.
So is that why he wasn't drinking at Lift Hardly Vee's because he was.
Yeah.
I'd say he was very,
that's why he's keeping it very sober and clean.
He said,
I'm just high on life,
baby.
And,
uh,
nope,
talk to both him and his dad about it quite a bit about out there.
It's just funny to get the recap from them.
But I did not expect to see Lou Nutter when I got there.
Yeah,
what the hell?
We got me like,
oh,
we got to find what table were sitting at.
looking at the list and I see my name, my wife's name, Tanner, which I knew he wasn't going to be
there.
And then I see Lou Nunner.
I'm like, what the hell?
Looze here?
And I literally turned my head and he's like the first person I see when I walk into the room then.
And I said a nice little chat with him.
And yeah, we got to get to sit together, talk about some Masonomic stuff, some lift in.
Do you feel like he was missing out from no lift hard to easy?
Oh, he knew he missed out.
He knew.
You know, but then we got done and had a,
it's like after the, after the dinner was done,
it's like, we got to get the guys together.
We got to do a shot of fireball.
And I'm like, oh, hell yeah.
So I'm like walking over the bar thinking we're doing that.
They're like, no, no, we got to go outside and do it.
And luckily, you know, it was only like 95 degrees and 90% humidity.
So it's just insanely hot out.
And then Lou's like, yeah, I'm going to get the shots.
I'll be right back.
So again, I'm thinking he's going to the bar getting shots.
No.
comes from his car with shooters that I could have swore
where he just pulled out of the microwave.
It was actually hot.
It was actually hot in my...
When he set this plastic bottle in my hand,
it was actually hot.
You're like, ah, yeah.
It burned you.
I was like, where did this come from?
He was always in my car this whole time.
Just baking.
It was baking.
He brought it up to a nice simmer.
That was the first time of my life.
I couldn't finish a whole shot of fireball.
It was the most disgusting.
Like, it was already the hottest I could imagine being.
And then I'm basically pouring boiling fireball in.
I could only, and then the problem is those little shooters,
you know, it clugs out of that little hole.
Yeah, I know.
So you can't just take a shot.
You got to like wait on it.
And I actually,
I couldn't finish the shot.
First time ever in my life,
I couldn't finish a shot of fireball.
It was that bad.
Did Lou finish it for you?
He did.
Yes.
He does not let any fireball go to waste.
Yeah.
Okay.
Any other highlights from the crew wedding?
Well, Paul was the best man.
We got to give a nice little best man speech.
Masonomics did get a shout out in the best man speech at his wedding.
So that was good.
But, yeah, otherwise it was a pretty fun time.
Excellent.
And I think the garage sale, is it complete or has it been scheduled?
Does he have anything left?
He said the minimum reserve wasn't hit.
And I think that's bullshit.
I didn't know anything about a minimum reserve.
Wow.
Okay, he's one of those I know what I got guys, huh?
So we're just going to start stealing stuff.
We're going to have to...
Yeah, well, he's done lifting whether he likes it or not.
Yeah, he's not going back out to that garage again.
So people can take stuff.
He won't even know.
That's, he's done.
Yeah.
It's over.
It was good.
He's over.
He went out with a bang.
Now he can wrap it up.
He's retired.
Did anyone tell him congrats on the funeral?
Um, you know, if I had to guess somewhere...
Well, actually, supporting our supporting members, Bryce,
oh, there we go.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
There we go.
We told him.
Yeah.
He knew.
Yes.
I got a sack segment, Tanner.
Oh, what he got hiding over there?
I got a little sack here.
Came with some stickers and a card as well.
This, this, um, t-shirt.
You seen one of these?
Have you heard about this?
Oh, I've got one of those.
I was just wearing it the other day.
The old, the old half-baked thoughts on training,
half-baked podcast, Drunkin' Uncant Uncant.
Uncle podcast t-shirt.
Yes.
It's got half-baked quotes on the back, too.
Wow.
Yes.
Pretty incredible.
Was that from Mo?
Big Mo hooked that up.
Thank you, Big Mo.
Good stuff.
Excellent.
Did you get your wall control put up?
Oh, I did.
I did put that up after dinner tonight.
Kids wanted to go outside and play.
It looks like anastonics gym now with so much wall control in there.
I just look at it and I think.
I was actually going to make a post of this, but then we had a podcast.
I'm like, damn, got some room for attachments up in here.
Like, it's crazy how I had one panel of wall control.
The secret is you had a panel.
So I'm at three panels of wall control.
I'm sure everyone in here can kind of relate, listening can relate to roughly what three panels of wall control is or looks like.
But when you do the shelves all the way across the top, oh, that just opens up a ton of room to just put the weird random shit up there that maybe doesn't fit on the hooks good or,
you know so doing that having the shelving across all three levels in the top and just that
extra panel I'm like I have so much room to work with and now I didn't have this desire before
I got the itch to fill this thing up again now you know you see empty spaces and you think
chicken and the eggs got to fill it you know didn't have that didn't have that thought once before
the second it's done I step back I think yep got to fill this up that's it's a greasy
slippery old slope, but next thing you know, you got 30, 30 wall control panels.
30 panels and no one's dressed up in the right spots. I've been there.
Next thing you got a literal wall covered in the wall control panels. Did someone paint our
wall red, metallic red and drill holes in it? Why does it look like this? What are your panels black?
My panels are black, yes. And are your attachment, are your hooks black? My initial run of hook
were all red and I had a red shelf.
For this little upgrade I did,
I put black shelves and I bought a bunch of black hooks.
And so my red,
my one red shelf is my lower shelf.
That's where when I train,
I put my phone or anything I might have with me.
I put it on that lower one.
And then the red hooks,
I switched some of them out.
A lot of the hooks have like enough things on them
that you don't even really see the hooks anyways.
So I just had,
I guess,
a collection of hooks at this point.
Because someone told me
know, someone that was at the lift hard leave, they're like, oh, you, the hooks, because I have
red panels with red hooks. They said, you should have got different color hooks. That's why people are,
and I'm like, well, that's not a terrible. But what really did it for me, because that's what I had
the black with red, you know, for some contrast. But right, when we're at the old Kev Cave,
and he had everything all black, actually his, I mean, his wall control setup is pristine.
You know, he has, it's all black with black hooks. And then like everything I'm,
it is stainless.
Yeah.
And I'm just like,
oh,
it just looks like
just a wall of floating
stainless attachments.
It looks so freaking cool.
Like that is probably
the cleanest wall control setup
we've ever seen.
And I just love the look of that.
And so ever since then I'm like,
no,
I want an all black looking wall control.
So I can fill it with shitty off looking attachments
that all mismatched in color.
Amazon.
And don't look like this.
But I'll at least know what my inspiration was,
the Kev Cave.
We have the Kev Cave
wall control set up at home.
Wait, but there's not even one J-D Jim Equip piece on this.
The Kev Cave has like 20.
What's going on here?
Nothing stainless steel.
Wait, is that a Ritfit $10 D handle?
Yes, it is.
The, what are the things called the Daisy Chains?
Wait, wait.
Are those daisy chains?
Oh, shit.
Yeah, that's two of them right there.
Okay, so you got the wall control.
What else did you get?
Oh, you got your cutlery finally.
Oh, yeah, I got my cut.
That was the first thing I'm pulling on.
I'm like, what is this heavy box in here?
And, okay, I'll tell you the thing about this.
I wanted to put it on display in the gym on one of those top shelves.
Your pyros or whatever the...
Yeah, the...
From Big Steve.
From Big Steve, yes.
I wanted to put it on...
YouTube video this week.
The shelf, but the thing that just made me worry is when I have it open box on display,
like if I'm ever underneath this shelf and for whatever reason
enough banging or vibrating moves,
a knife will fall on me.
And so that's what I'm like a razor sharp.
Yes, yes.
And it's a heavy knife too.
It may stab into your body.
Yeah.
It would fall with enough weight to actually stab it.
So I want it on display,
but I just don't know the best way to do that.
So I got to think that one through a little bit.
Because ideally the top shelf would have some nice memorabilia on it up there.
you know.
Right.
I got to think about that still.
I haven't had enough time to get that far yet.
The,
what's,
is this Rogue Crusher Jim or what is the name?
No,
it's,
a M Torture Chamber.
Yeah.
But that is our gym tour video this week, right?
And it's an impressive gym,
yes.
Yeah.
There's a lot there.
Gotta see that one.
Yeah.
Gotta watch that one.
An ATX is just like the movie coming to America.
They made it to America.
You can now.
by ATX equipment finally.
Like after much.
I think people were maybe starting to count them out,
but they're here.
I honestly think they just had to get it done
before home gym con because they couldn't take another year
of everyone asked.
I'm just being asked a thousand times all weekend when they're coming.
I guarantee that was part.
They're like, we have to do it.
We have to get this done before home gym con.
We can not go there and have everyone else.
Just kill myself if I have to.
to do another weekend of answering that question again.
Yes.
But yeah,
they got some cool stuff.
I think,
I think,
you know,
we look through some of their machines.
The pricing's pretty decent on a lot of it.
Yeah.
They're not charging a premium at all on several of these pieces.
Right.
So some good stuff there.
Be on the lookout for what,
for whatever they got going on.
That's right.
Tanner,
I got a,
you know,
you know about little someone.
Rick the stick, Rick Booggs.
Oh, Del Hogan?
Del Hogan.
You know about this name, right?
I've stumbled across El Sticko a few times.
So, you know his thing, he'll just ramble at the camera for anywhere between 20 and 30 minutes, you know?
He's the master.
There's a video in the background, and the video typically doesn't get played a whole lot because he gets distracted.
Oh, no.
And there was a video the other day that caught my eye for multiple reasons.
Okay, so I don't know if you saw this.
The video was, let's watch Dr. Mike's technology that could replace weights forever.
Because Dr. Mike did have a video where it was saying like, you know, it was hinting at digital resistance.
Right.
And so Pug's being, you know, the traditionalist that he is, has to have a commentary on this video.
The first thing that's interesting about this video is, do you want to know,
Do you want to know the runtime on it?
Did you see this or not?
I saw the,
I was actually going to click on that video and never made it to it.
So I don't know.
Was it 40 minutes?
The video was an hour and 23 minutes long.
The amazing part is this,
you know,
the video.
Does he start the video was saying that he's going to have to wrap this up?
I'm pretty sure.
And what's amazing is that the,
I think it was like the 30 minute mark of the video.
You know,
it's paused on YouTube.
and the YouTube video is at the 15 second mark.
So he's gotten 30 minutes in and he's made it 15 seconds into the actual video,
which is just so funny.
And actually I hear the comment,
15 minutes in and we aren't past the 60 seconds yet.
This is our version of The Odyssey.
And I'm like, that's so good.
And then someone else had another comment.
And this just had me dying.
It was,
there are feature-length films shorter than this video.
And I'm like, that is so much.
And then someone else put in here,
they're like a list of movies shorter than this video.
And they listed like 10 well-known movies
that are all shorter than this video
of him commenting on digital resistance.
It was just him commenting about Dr. Mike commenting.
Yeah, him commenting about Dr. Mike.
And so many of his things, he's just going on.
So what actually, I never watched the Dr. Mike when he's reviewing the speediness,
like gym kind of tonal all in one thing.
Yeah.
There's multiple times where it starts playing.
He's like, okay.
Like, you can tell he's just trying to be as respectful as, but he's like, all right.
For some people, you know, maybe this is like, but, but okay, he's like pencil next off.
The machine is shaking when he's using it.
He's like, no killing up.
The other thing I loved, I was laughing so hard.
You know, Dr. Mike's like, all right, let's start with the good.
The nerling on the handles is very well done.
Pause right there.
Okay.
The nearling.
And he starts going up.
He's like, you know what?
I don't care about this nerling talk.
He goes, when I go to a gym, I try to specifically look for the bar that looks like it
was made in 1950 and welded from one piece of metal.
That is the bar that I'm looking for.
And I was just dying, watching like all of these, all of this.
things. And then it got to the point, it's like, all right, a max weight of 200 pounds or 100
pounds per side. And he's like, there it is. Pencil neck shit. He's like, you're going to get,
you're telling me you're going to get strong with the machine that max out at 200. He goes, go to any gym.
There's going to be a guy that's never lifted before and is going to deadlift 300 some pounds.
He's like, he goes on for stories about all these guys that he's seen deadlift 300 plus pounds
for them. He's like, so you're telling me the first time you use this machine, you've already
passed what it can do. He's just going on and on about all this stuff. I mean, it was very funny.
He's like, okay, but to be fair, these people, they probably put a lot of effort in. And, you know,
for the right, for the right person, this is probably good. But, and then he goes on and I, I didn't even,
I didn't watch all hour and 23 minutes of it. I was just scrubbing around and I, man, the sound
bites in this were just, our class. Just amazing. He has a polo shirt on and like the first comment is,
is the new Ralph Lauren drop where the horse is in the polo instead of on it?
It's so stupid.
Yeah.
Wife and daughter circling the block for an hour and 23 minutes.
There's just,
I like how he plays into some of those bits too.
You know,
like he knows,
like him saying his wife is coming home soon,
so he's got to wrap the video up.
And then it just goes on for an hour.
It's good.
You know,
he goes through the whole thing of,
like when he finds out the machine costs like $5,000.
He's like,
$5,000 for this.
He's like,
I guarantee he's like,
fellas,
you open up marketplace.
You can build a whole gym for about $300.
It's going to be ironed.
That's been around forever.
Like, yeah, it's just, it's just full of golden sound bites.
You know what else is full of golden sound bites?
Our latest gym tour video on YouTube at the M Torture Chamber.
It's been so long since we recorded that.
I can't even remember let the sound bites are.
There are some pretty good sound bites in there.
Is the thing where he says he's 60 years old on camera?
Yeah, that's within like the first five minutes.
You kind of got to stop him.
Wait a second.
You're 60.
Uh-huh.
That's not right.
You're making that up.
Do watch that one, though.
Excellent video.
And then following up that will be home gymcon stuff, right?
Home gym content.
And we'll be coming hot and heavy.
With the hot and heavy on the home gym content.
We visited home gym content.
All we got with is this lousy content.
But it's going to be good content.
Not lousy.
Do not listen to Tanner.
It will not be.
lousy content. It will be good and the future of this business depends on it. It has to be good.
Yeah. It'll be, oh, it'll be good. Do we need a little strength co action?
Strength co. I think I've heard about these guys. Speaking of old school iron that won't let you down.
No pencil neck stuff there is no pencil neck. You can put like 50 of these on the bar assuming you can
handle that much weight. Yeah. Strength co. Olympic.
iron plates made in America, smooth yet easy to grip, black, e-coded, made to outlast you,
your family, the heat death of the universe. They're made to do it all. It's the strenco plates.
They're the go-to plates of Massonomics gym. They're the go-to plates of my home gym.
And it's for good reason, because they are the best. We've seen all the plates and all the lands,

basements and houses and shops and barns wherever and there's one thing that always stands out and
that's that's a set of strength co we recommend you pick yourself up a pair at the strength

interested in those make sure you get on the sign-up list and you can take advantage of that
