Episode Date: August 25, 2026

On this week's episode, Dylan is joined by Emily Simpson to talk all things RHOC Season 20 and reflect on her eight seasons in Orange County. Emily opens up about why never watched herself on the show..., how her husband Shane keeps her grounded when social media gets harsh, and why her friendship with Gina feels more like a sisterhood than a reality TV friendship. She also shares her reaction to Vicki’s return, including the surprising timing of her orange before the contract was finalized, and explains why Vicki has earned the “Debbie Downer” label. Plus, Emily gets into why she and Gina are always perfectly happy being in the middle and how she finally feels secure in her place on RHOC. Annabel like lives at the ocean That's such a cool like thing to be able to have.
Starting point is 00:00:34 Yeah and then I try to have that conversation with my kids about how cool their life is because I grew up poor and Ohio and I'm like do you even see like how cool your life is? Like you literally just get on your e-bike and ride to the ocean like people come here to go on vacation. Right right. Whatever mom. Hey everyone. Welcome back to the mention at all podcast. OSE is in its 20th season this summer. And so we have had some of our amazing ladies in here.
Starting point is 00:01:04 And I'm so glad to have Emily Simpson in the studio. Emily, it's been a couple years since you've been here. Season 20, your eighth? Eighth. Yes, eighth season. How are we doing? How's your summer going? My summer's been great.
Starting point is 00:01:17 Like we were just talking about, I've been traveling so much. You know, because when you're filming, it's four months. And, you know, I feel like I owe it to my kids when I'm done with that to, you know, really invest in them and take them places over the summer. because they don't get a spring break. So how much? So obviously like when when you're filming, they're on the show sometimes. We've seen over the years.
Starting point is 00:01:39 I mean, it's crazy seeing Annabelle. It's like a. I know. It is crazy. Young adult now at this point basically. A scary young adult. How much are they aware of when the show is airing and, you know, like obviously, you know, stuff is coming out.
Starting point is 00:01:52 You're doing press, things like that. Do they pay attention at all to like the show? No. Not really. But this is the first year where. Annabel said she got a text from a boy that she met at Lifeguard Camp that saw her on the episode and he texted her and said, I saw you on TV. Okay.
Starting point is 00:02:12 And she replied so. And then she showed me the conversation. And you're like, my life is flashing before my eyes. Yes. I was like, ah. You're like, first of all, why are you texting a boy? Right. Right.
Starting point is 00:02:25 I'm like, what boy? Who is this boy? What is this? I mean, you have been, you've been like quite an open book about. some of the challenges that you've been navigating in your family life. And I think that that, you know, it's been eight years now that we've seen you on the show. Obviously, there's been lots of changes and ups and downs. What is it like for you kind of figuring out where those right levels are of how much do we want to film with the kids? How much do I want to talk about the kids? Because
Starting point is 00:02:52 people have so many opinions about those types of things. Well, first of all, I can't listen to all the opinions out there because it's just, it's always all over the place and you can't ever do anything right. Right. It's, you know, if, if there's drama, then it's dark and toxic. If there's no drama, then it's boring. Or you're lying. Yeah. So it's like, I can't even, you know, listen to any of that. I just feel like it's important to just be authentic about my life and my marriage and my relationship with Shane and my kids and parenting because that's what I'm doing. We're on a reality show. It's supposed to be it's about my life. And so I've always been real about. what I'm going through, what I think, what I feel.
Starting point is 00:03:31 I think it's, especially when you're on a show like this for a long period of time, which now you have been, it's like you can't, if you're, if you're choosing to present some sort of like crafted version of your life, that's always going to fall apart at some point. People are always going to be able to see through that. So it's like. Exactly. And I've never been that person. I've never been able to be like, well, I'll share this, but not this.
Starting point is 00:03:58 And I want to keep this quiet. Yeah. I mean, I probably say too much all the time. So, but that's just, I can't help it. Well, I like you were just on Watch What Happens Live. And they played this, like, game with you where it's like, does Emily regret? Yeah. X, Y, Z.
Starting point is 00:04:12 And almost across the board, the answer's no. Right. It seems like you have done a pretty good job of figuring out where those boundaries are for yourself of like, yeah, this. I'm not always going to be like the hero in every situation. Right. It is what it is. It is what it is.
Starting point is 00:04:29 And I don't regret a lot of it. I don't. I mean, I don't know if you're supposed to. Everyone should bring a sandwich into the song. I mean, I don't regret. I don't regret a lot of things I've done and said. So I don't know. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:04:39 I just think it's like it's too much effort to like create a version that isn't real. Yeah. And I don't have that time and energy to put into it. I don't have the time or energy to put into trying to craft a narrative about my life. So it just, if it's messy, it's messy. It just is what it is. How has your dynamic changed over the years of being on the show of how much, when a new season is starting, are you sort of thinking about, okay, what do I have to deal with this season? Who's on my side?
Starting point is 00:05:11 Who do I have issues with? Or are you kind of just like, I show up, it is what it is, and then we'll go from there. I show up, it is what it is kind of girl. And also, I don't know, I've probably told you this before, but I don't really even watch the episode. So I never, I mean, obviously I'm on social media, so I see, you know, feedback sometimes. But overall, I try to stay grounded and stay kind of removed from it because I feel like it can be really detrimental to just regular life if you're in it too much. And it's in your head too much. So I don't know.
Starting point is 00:05:45 I try to have healthy. In the words of Shannon Bador, I try to have healthy boundaries. Yeah. And Shannon always succeeds at that. Right. Does she? Gina was just here last week and we were talking about people who don't watch their shows and she did. Did she mention me?
Starting point is 00:06:03 Yes. You're not always a viewer of your own episodes. Has that, was that something that you kind of decided at the beginning and have just stuck with or have there been kind of like ebbs and flows of how much you dive into it? No, right from the very beginning, like first season, I think I watched maybe the first two episodes that because you know they send them to us early. and I found myself just being so overly critical of everything that I did said, looked like, war, everything. And I got in my head so much. And I like ruined the rest of my day.
Starting point is 00:06:36 I watched it in the morning. I remember sitting at Pete's coffee and watching like the first episode. And then the rest of the day, my head was like, I wish I didn't wear that. I wish I didn't say that. I wish this. I wish that. I wish I didn't do that. And then I thought, why am I in my head about this?
Starting point is 00:06:50 I have to like get out of my head. And so the way for me to just get out of my own head was just not watch it. Yeah. And I don't think I'm the only person that does that because I was telling Darcy last night. She was on watch what happens live with me. And she was saying she had a conversation with, oh my God, I just forgot her name all of a sudden. But you know, the popular actress that's like, I really want a hot dog. You know what I'm talking about.
Starting point is 00:07:11 Yeah, yeah, yeah. Jennifer Coolidge. Yes. Why did I just, her name just like disappeared? I love that that's the reference. Yes, the hot dog, the hot dog. But Darcy was telling me that she had a conversation, which. Jennifer Cool, and that she doesn't watch anything that she does. And I don't know if that's true,
Starting point is 00:07:26 because that's just secondhand that I was getting. But she said that she doesn't like to watch what she does because she said for some reason people like her. And if she watches herself, then she will analyze it too much. And her behavior might change. So she just doesn't watch anything that she does. Yeah. So are there ever situations though when you're going to like, let's say reunion where there's like a situation where you're like, oh, I wish I had a little more context of like what this person said about me or how this look how this came across yeah you know um no because Shane watches the episodes yeah and so if there's something that like I really need to know he'll reference it and say like you really just need to watch that scene or at least
Starting point is 00:08:07 look at it on social media or something so I feel like I always know you know what I mean like reference to things that like I really need to know Shane's like the the coach that's like you need to watch this tape before the next game. Yeah, he is. He's like, you really need to see that confessional because, yeah, you need to know that. Shane is like your number one fan when it comes to. Is he? I mean, I've, like, I've had the pleasure of meeting Shane at Bravo Con a couple.
Starting point is 00:08:36 Like, he's a very, like, he really like reps the, the Emily Simpson name, I would say, in a positive way. He does. And I'll tell you. I probably would have navigated this show completely differently if it wasn't for Shane. Shane keeps me very grounded. And I think he's the voice of reason because sometimes social media can be so harsh. And a lot of times I feel as if that's the only feedback we get. I mean, we don't get feedback other than like what we see on social media.
Starting point is 00:09:07 And sometimes that can be so harsh that you're like, why do I even do this? Why do I bother? Why do I put myself out there? And, you know, he's the one that always talks me off the ledge. He's like, Emily, like, that doesn't matter. Like, think about all the people you meet at BravoCon that are so kind and, like, want to talk about Luke or parenting or want to tell you about their own kids. He's like, those are the fans, you know, don't worry about, like, what you see on social media.
Starting point is 00:09:33 So a lot of times, you know, he takes me out of that funk. Yeah, it's helpful to have somebody to kind of, like, filter the experience through. Yeah. He also keeps me very grounded because he tells me all the time how special. I am not and how I am not famous and how no one really knows who I am and I it's not a big deal and I need to like not have a big head and you know well the podcast isn't called legally Shane right it is it is legally brunette and I am the brunette and that duo so it is funny though because I you know talking to to you and Gina who joined the show at the same time and have you know sort of become some of the most stable pieces in the the group like You guys weathered a lot of kind of changes and ups and downs in the show, the pandemic, the, you know, people leaving, people coming back, all of that. And so, like, it is interesting to think about also, like, over the years, how your position within the group sort of shifts, even if you're like, I've just been here the whole time being me. I feel like we're just in the middle.
Starting point is 00:10:38 Yeah. Like, we're just stuck in the middle. It's fine. We like it. We always talk about how we're always in the middle. even on the reunion couch, we're always in the middle. It's like put Gina and Emily in the middle. I think that's kind of a good place to be.
Starting point is 00:10:49 I think so too, because the ends are the ones that always like fall off. At some point. But we're just always like, and I think that's us. Like that's how we operate, you know? Well, and I think also like there are, obviously there are seasons and moments where, you know, somebody will have a really, you know, massive storyline going on or two people will have a really explosive feud. But when you have those like, you know, super high highs or low lows depending on what
Starting point is 00:11:18 you're going through, it's like you kind of inevitably have to see the other side of that. Whereas like, if you're able to kind of just like, you know, stick in the mud and do what you need to do, it's like maybe a little bit of an easier existence. Probably because we're never, we've never been like the extremes. Right. Yeah. Right. It's like you have Tamara and Shannon.
Starting point is 00:11:40 Right. going at it for two seasons straight. Right. Or Shannon and Alexis Bellino. And so like those are extremes that like I don't ever want to be in. I don't want Shane's ex-wife to get cast on the show. And like me, no. I mean, I'd be first chair.
Starting point is 00:11:55 There's no doubt about that. I wouldn't be in the middle anymore. I mean, I wouldn't be in the middle. I mean, it would. But I don't, I don't want to do that. Right. So, you know. Well, I think that's the thing.
Starting point is 00:12:04 It's like with, I think like, luckily for Shannon, she was like, able to kind of, you know, navigate that. And Alexis kind of like flamed out a little bit. Well, yeah, Shannon came out on top on that one. That's for sure. But that like if Shannon was in a different place, like, and maybe Alexis had a little bit more, you know, maybe played her cards a little different.
Starting point is 00:12:28 That could have been a really, you know, it could have come out differently. It could have. But, you know, well, I mean, we could talk about Alexis all day long. But if she didn't navigate that situation. well at all. It is interesting. Like with OC the last few years having, you know, Taylor Armstrong was on and we had known her from Beverly Hills and then and then Alexis and then Gretchen last season. And now, you know, OG of the OC, Vicky came back to claim her orange. Yeah. What was your reaction when you found out that she was coming back? Presumably at BravoCon when everybody else did. That is when I found out right. Well, I had two reactions. One was a legal reaction because I even talked about this with Andy last night.
Starting point is 00:13:13 I was like, you guys gave her an orange before the contract. I don't know if that was like such a. Yes, I remember hearing about that because she was doing press the next day and was like, I don't know anything. Yeah. And I was like, oh, I don't know about that. But anyway, that was like a whole different conversation. But I was, I was happy because anytime I'd ever been asked, like, what former housewife
Starting point is 00:13:31 would you want to come back? I always said Vicky, because I find her so entertaining. I find Vicky entertaining in all aspects of Vicky. I mean, even when she's like ridiculous and double downing and completely wrong, I find it entertaining. Yeah. She is somebody where like you don't have to, you don't have to like love her to be, find her like engaging on the show. Right. Right.
Starting point is 00:13:56 I think she's just, she's great reality TV. Uh-huh. I mean, she really is. And I don't care. Like you were saying, you love her or hate her doesn't matter. You're enthralled. You're intrigued. It was.
Starting point is 00:14:06 You can't look away. I don't know. I don't know if you sat down and watched this, but like starting the season of her just like on the beach in Puerto Varda was like a really funny way to be like, oh, well, we're back in the Vicky experience. I mean, she was not thrilled of your description of her as Debbie Downer. Oh, no, no, no. We've heard about that a few times since it came up first. I had no idea that when I called her that it was going to make it through like three episodes and have its own storyline and be like a whole thing. So I just, I don't, I don't think it's true that nobody has ever said that about her before.
Starting point is 00:14:38 No, because she can be such a bus kill sometimes. Right. She's at the, she's at the party being like, think about when one of us dies. Yes. And I don't even like, well, I won't talk about it because it's coming up, but I don't even know if it'll be in the episode. But she just tells like this whole like sad story like on a girl's trip where we're, like someone dies. And I'm like, Vicky. And you're surprised that I call you. you a Debbie Downer? Yeah, you know, she has her moments.

And her last season as a housewife before this was your first season on the show. I'm curious, like, for you,
Starting point is 00:16:55 how different did you feel having her in the group now versus thinking back to 2018 when you're doing this for the first time and she's the OG of the OC. Well, I would have to say when I first came on, Vicky was never mean to me. Okay. So she didn't really give me a hard time.
Starting point is 00:17:12 I would say she gave Gina a harder time. She said some really crappy things to Gina, but not to me. I had more of a hard time with Tamara when I first came on. Yeah. But, you know, it's nice having Vicky back after I've been on for eight years because I feel like she came on and just treats us like with equal footing. You know what I mean?
Starting point is 00:17:32 I feel like there's a respect there that was. there previously, but now I feel like I've earned it. Like she doesn't give me a hard time. You know what I mean? It's like you can't come on and treat somebody that's been there for eight seasons. Right. They're the new girl. Exactly.
Starting point is 00:17:43 And she didn't act like that. She came on and I felt like she, you know, was respectful that we'd been there a long time. And like we weren't newbies and we didn't need to be talked down to and, you know, dismissed. Even though Vicki can be dismissive. Well, she'll snore if you're not entertaining her. She can channel the newbie energy toward Carmela. Right. That's where it all went.
Starting point is 00:18:06 It did not come towards me or Gina. It is all at Carmela. What was your read? Obviously, you know, we've seen kind of the storyline with the birthday gift, you know, the lovely Dior bag and Dior bag. Right. combo. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:18:21 We've seen that play out a little bit and some of the people's thoughts and feelings about her being a developer or not. Yeah. What was your read kind of on that? initial phase of Carmela entering the group, obviously, you know, being involved in that birthday gift situation. Well, I got the gift. Yes. So obviously I was like, I was a fan. I was like, this is an amazing gift. Thank you very much. I thought it was interesting that everybody else was questioning because, well, also I turned 50. So I felt like her explanation of like it was a big
Starting point is 00:18:54 birthday made sense. So I think she kind of went all out because it was a big birthday. I did find it interesting that everybody else was like questioning the motives and, you know, what is she thinking and is she trying to buy my friendship and things like that? You know, I liked Carmela right from the beginning. She has a good vibe to me, like a good energy. Like I find her safe. I find her to be someone who really legitimately wants to be friends with us. And that's a very safe feeling. Like she doesn't have ulterior motives. She's not trying to get information to use against us. Like she just really is trying to navigate and become friends. Yeah, that is an interesting thing. Because I mean like, you know, knowing the last couple seasons having Katie and the group that went in a lot of different directions, having somebody who you feel a little bit more maybe like secure getting to know might be a welcome change.
Starting point is 00:19:46 It is. It's very welcomed. She is really interesting to me so far just in terms of like her background and she's being very open about her, you know, relationship situation. and wanting, you know, in this past week's episode talking about like wanting her house to be a safe space for her kids and the relationship challenges with that. Like it does feel like coming on a show like this and right from the jump being such an open book about certain things. Like not everybody would choose to kind of take that route. Yeah, but I appreciate that about her because I think that's the best route to go. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:20:25 I think it's, I think that she's very authentic about her past. which didn't really make sense because I know she said that she felt like I was interrogating her when I was asking questions. But I literally was just trying to make it make sense because it was a lot and it didn't add up. And so I kept asking clarification questions. Like you're still married, but not to the guy you're with right now. But you're with him, but you're not really with him. And like San Diego, but also. Right.
Starting point is 00:20:50 But also and you have a place in Orange County. Like I was just trying to make it make sense. And I will say like as a viewer, thank you. Because I think that's something where like if you, if you, if, you take the show element out of it and you're just like hanging out with someone new. Maybe it's like, why are you asking me so many questions? But it's like, no, like the viewers are also going to have those same questions. And so I think you're going to have more success as a new person in the group if you're
Starting point is 00:21:17 able to kind of make people understand your whole deal. And I think, I think maybe she had never really laid out the whole story. And I don't think someone has dug probably as deep. She's like, I'm getting confused now. Yeah, because she got to the point where she didn't even know how old she was. I guess I'd asked her so many questions. Like, I think she was in a tailspin and she was like, I've never had to like answer all of this. I remember on, on Potomac a few years ago, Mia, like, couldn't figure out the age difference between her and her husband.
Starting point is 00:21:49 Oh, really? And people were like, what's going on? Right, right. It's just like when you come on a show like this, especially, I mean, the Bravo viewers are like eagle-eyed. Oh, yeah. And so if you can't, if you don't have your story straight, that's going to be figured out. Exactly. Yep.
Starting point is 00:22:04 I like to like the, the question that was coming up of at the, I think it was like Vicki's dinner where Shannon was kind of like speaking on Carmelah's behalf a little bit. And like Shannon is like, I'm defending her. And Gina's like she should, you know, speak for herself. I thought there was like an interesting thing to sort of talk about of like somebody's new in the group. like they actually need to learn how to have their own back a little bit. Right. Right. I think that that's something that is important if somebody's going to really like hang. Yeah. And I, and I'm glad Gina said something because I was noticing the same thing that Shannon was like trying to be her mouthpiece.
Starting point is 00:22:43 And I was like, that's annoying. Let her speak on her own behalf. Right. Because it's, I mean, it seems like Carmel. And she can. Yeah. You're not talking about someone that can't stand up for themselves. So like let her have the floor. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:22:55 there was like a little moment of tension with you and Gina. She didn't love that you, you know, sort of... Would I say like, I don't need you or something? Yeah. Yeah. She, I think she like extrapolated from that a little. She made that like in a global sense that I was like, I don't ever need you in my life or something. But I liked that, you know, the next episode you guys are going to Vegas and it pretty much immediately is like, this isn't. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:23:24 This is fine. Right. I feel like with the two of you, there really is a sense that like some dumb show thing is not going to be a cause of you guys having some big rift. It feels like the relationship is kind of on a different level. Yeah, I think we just, I mean, we're genuinely best friends. I mean, take the show element out of it and we still operate the exact same way, you know. And so I always just equate it to like my. relationship with my sister. That's how Gina and I, it feels very comfortable to me. It feels like home.
Starting point is 00:24:00 It feels like my sister. You know, and Gina knows my sister. Like that's how close we are. Yeah. So, you know, like if I get in a fight with my sister, it lasts, you know, not very long. And then we, we make up and we move on. And so that's how Gina and I operate. You know, we don't hold grudges. We don't take things very personally. We just have like moments of tension where we're just irritated with one another. And then we just quickly move on. Well, and so you guys, you wanted, you chose to share the room in Vegas. Yeah. But Heather was like, she didn't want you to because she wanted Carmela and Vicki to share.
Starting point is 00:24:32 I'm like, I don't know what she wanted. I don't really understand it. All I know is Gina and I have been sharing a room for eight years. Right. And so I'm like, wait, now, like eight years later, all of a sudden, someone has a problem with us sharing a room. And by the way, us sharing a room always benefits the other women. Because they always end up in the better rooms and they always end up in like the nicer
Starting point is 00:24:50 rooms and they end up like not sharing. Like, we always take the hit. normally when we share a room. We did in Vegas. Like, did they even show us in our room? I mean, we were in, like, a whole other level. We saw Shannon, like, examining her room for electromagnetic fields or whatever. Yeah, I don't even know what that's about.
Starting point is 00:25:08 I don't know. Shannon is on a never-ending journey of some. I don't even know where she gets this information. I don't even understand it. This episode, too, she was, like, wrapping herself in, like, it looked like a trash bag to, like, zap away some. I hope it. I will say over the years, you guys do a lot of kooky activities.
Starting point is 00:25:30 Yeah. You know, I was looking back through like some old photos and you're in like a beekeeping outfit. Oh my gosh. The outfits in the costumes. There was like one like you and Kelly Dodd and somebody else did some like aerial yoga class. Yeah. It's, it is like it must be kind of fun, I guess, to think back of like all the random
Starting point is 00:25:49 experiences you've had on this show. I could put it like, I should put it together in like some kind of album to just go through all the like weird situations that I've been I dropped I jumped off a 30 foot platform and the sonotes and Cabo we did the sweat lodge like I have done so many things so many things and I don't know if the other franchises do things like that it's some do it's like everybody has their kind of flavor of activity but but I also feel like it's me a lot because they're like Emily will do that Emily will jump Emily will go into sweat lodge Emily will do it Emily won't complain so well this was your second round do it.
Starting point is 00:26:25 some sort of like burlesque adjacent Vegas experience. Yeah. The showgirl costumes, I was impressed how legit you guys were with that. Oh, those were legit. And I tell you, those headpieces are unreal. I don't know how they wear those and dance in them. I mean, it gave me such a bad headache.
Starting point is 00:26:44 It was, it felt like I had bricks on my head. Right. It was so heavy. It's like, it's fun that everybody participated, though. Yeah, I was glad because I didn't, think everyone would. Right. And, you know,
Starting point is 00:26:56 originally they told us to wear like black leggings and a black tank top because they anticipated that nobody would put like the actual costume on. So I told everyone to wear black leggings and a black tank top. And then I thought, you know, they'll just strap on some dance shoes and maybe like a, but I, but it was like really cool that everybody just really went all out and wore the whole thing. And you guys, I mean,
Starting point is 00:27:20 you guys are always in a costume. There's always a, there's always a, there's always some theme happening. I'm curious, so right before you guys filmed season 20, Vicky had done the ultimate girls trip. Yeah. The Bunko party. Were you guys like invited to the, how did that work of who came to the? You know, I don't know. I was not invited. I know Gino wasn't either. And I don't think there's anything personal with that. I think it was just, we're still new on Orange County. Orange County's been around for 20 years. So I mean, obviously Vicky was like the main. character for Orange County. But then when they invite additional Orange County people, obviously it's going to be Shannon and Tamara.
Starting point is 00:28:00 And Heather, they've been around a lot longer. Yeah. And then it was like Gina and Joe from the O. Right. And then they brought in like some OGs. So I didn't take it as anything personal. I just took it as like, we've been here for 20 years. And there's people that have been on way longer than we have. So when when Tamara and Shannon start the season with you guys, and they're still fighting about something that happened. Right. Bunko night, however many weeks ago. Were you like, what are you talking?
Starting point is 00:28:28 Like, do you just kind of tune them out at this point? I mean, a little of both because obviously I'm like, well, what happened? And I try to get the story. And then, yeah, and then it's a little bit of tuning it out too. Because it's the Shannon and Tamara stuff just never seems to end. Yeah. It's hard because at a certain point, like obviously when you have history with someone, there is a sense of like we can work back to a certain place.
Starting point is 00:28:55 But also it's like, how much do you guys like each other at a foundational level? At some point, I feel like maybe we just have to move on and just say that is in the past. And you know what I mean? Well, because I think with Vicky coming back, it makes sense that she has that kind of nostalgia almost for bygone times. the three of them. Right. But it's like, I mean, it's nice when, when Shannon's like, hey, can help you set up for your party.
Starting point is 00:29:26 Yeah. But it's like maybe the TraceaMeegas tour isn't ever going to happen. I don't think it is. That's my opinion. I don't think it's going to happen. But, you know, you never know. It is crazy because I, I bartended on Watch What Happens Live, like three years ago with the three of them.
Starting point is 00:29:40 Okay. And it was like the last time they were all in public together getting along. Yeah. Like, man, times have changed. Right? Yep. But maybe there will be a full circle. moment. You never know. Maybe you never know. After eight years of doing this, it's season 20. It's a big,
Starting point is 00:29:57 you know, milestone season. How has your kind of approach to the show? Like, do you, do you feel like it's easier? Do you feel like it's more challenging? How do you feel about kind of just? I feel like it's easier. Just, I don't know, because it's been eight years. And so I, I, I, I, I, I, I guess I know what to expect more. I went into it pretty naive my first year. I didn't really watch the show. I didn't know a lot about it. I think I went in with like this really ridiculous naive perspective that, you know,
Starting point is 00:30:32 I had girlfriends and I was always so I always easily made friends. So I thought, oh, like I'll just make friends. And everybody. Six new friends. Yay, new friends. Everybody's going to like me. That was dumb. So, but you know, now I feel like I've found my footing, found my voice.
Starting point is 00:30:48 I've been on for eight years. I feel like I'm an integral part of the cast. I don't feel, you know, even though there's women that have been on longer, but I still feel like, you know, I'm part of it. I don't feel like I'm on the outside looking in trying to like knock on the window like, guys. You're not earning your spot. Yeah, right.
Starting point is 00:31:08 And so I think that pressure being off where I just feel comfortable and I feel very comfortable with my relationships. Like I feel like I have a great relationship with Shannon. And I have a great relationship with Heather, even though it has ups and downs. But we're friends. And Tamara and I get along great. And, you know, I have a friendship with everyone. And I'm very secure in that friendship, even though it might change or, you know, have, you know, bumps in the road.
Starting point is 00:31:34 But just having, feeling that comfortableness and feeling safe in those relationships, it makes the show easier. Totally. Yeah. I cannot wait to see the trip to Japan, I have to say. Yeah. That'll be interesting. There's a lot. There's a lot.
Starting point is 00:31:49 It's a long way to go. And so you have to make it worth the while. Also, there's a trip to Palm Springs. Yeah. And so please let me know your thoughts on that one. You guys are, you're all over the place this season. You're in Vegas. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:32:03 Yep. Season 20, you've got to do it big. That's right. Yep. Well, congratulations on season 20. Thank you. I'm excited to see the rest of it. And I know everyone else is too.
