LaGuardia reopens after a fatal jet collision on the tarmac.
President Trump extends his ultimatum for Iran pending negotiations,
and S&L launches in the UK, mocking Kier-Starmor.
I'm Georgia Howe with Daily Wire, Executive Editor John Bickley.
It's Monday, March 23rd, and this is Evening Wire.
The Guardia reopened this afternoon after a pilot and co-pilot were killed
and dozens were injured in a collision.
Daily Wire homepage editor Jordan Schroeder reports.
That was audio from air traffic control, frantically warning a fire truck on the tarmac to stop
before crossing paths with an oncoming Air Canada jet arriving from Montreal.
The fire truck had been given clearance to cross the tarmac to address a separate emergency.
The crash occurred shortly after the jet touched down at a ground speed of about 30 miles per hour.
The force of the impact caused catastrophic damage to the nose of the plane,
killing the two pilots and ejecting a flight attendant onto the tarmac.
The female flight attendant was found still strapped into her seat, which likely saved her life.
She was quickly rushed to a hospital with severe injuries.
All LaGuardia flights were canceled for several hours following the deadly crash.
Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy and the NTSB are investigating how the incident happened.
President Trump posted on Truth Social this morning that the U.S. will hold off on strikes against Iranian energy
infrastructure. Daily Wire Foreign Affairs reporter Cassia Akiva has the latest.
The president said the pause will last for five days, quote, subject to the success of the ongoing
meetings and discussions. Trump revealed in a post that the U.S. and Iranian officials had already
held talks for two days. In response, Iran denied being part of the talks. An Iranian security
official told a state-run news outlet that Trump, quote, backed down from attacks on Iran's
critical infrastructure over credible Iranian military threats and market pressure.
Speaking of markets, they rallied at the news, while the price of oil dropped sharply below $100 a barrel.
The Supreme Court appears poised to crack down on late mail-in voting.
During a hearing today, conservative justices appeared skeptical of a Mississippi law that allows a five-day grace period for ballots that were postmarked before election day but arrive after.
The case could affect more than a dozen states who have similar laws on the books.
A decision is expected by early summer that's just in time to show.
shape how votes are counted in the 2026 midterms.
New York City Mayor Zoran Mamdani's wife, Rama Duwaji, is coming under increased scrutiny for
her radical and racially loaded online posts and now her involvement in a controversial
Democratic Socialists of America campaign. Daily Wire senior editor, Joel Needler, has more.
New reports show that Duwagi, a professional illustrator, provided the creative backdrop for the
DSA's Palestine on the ballot initiative, a project that used Duwagi's animation.
to mobilize voters against candidates, backed by an influential pro-Israel lobbying group, APEC.
The Democratic Socialist campaign also highlighted the Not on Our Dime Act,
a controversial bill originally sponsored by Mamdani during his time in the New York State Assembly,
which would target certain nonprofits accused of supporting Israeli settlements.
A terror group linked to Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps has claimed responsibility
for a Monday morning terror attack in London.
Daily Wire contributor Tim Pierce has the latest.
A group known as the Islamic movement of the companions of the right took responsibility in a video
circulated online. The group claimed that they targeted the Moxi K Hadat Synagogue because of its
quote ties to Israel. The arson attack kit four ambulances that belonged to a Jewish volunteer emergency
service. The heat caused oxygen cylinders on board to explode and send shrapnel into nearby
structures. The attack is the fourth this month claimed by the terror group against the European
Jewish community. Two Iranian ballistic missiles slipped past Israel's defenses
and struck towns close to the Jewish state's main nuclear research facility.
One of the missiles hit the town of Demona while the other hit Arad.
Each town just miles from a nuclear research center and its reactor.
More than 100 people were injured in the attack.
The Israeli military said it attempted to intercept the missiles, but in each case failed.
The nuclear facility is ostensibly one of the most secure locations in the country,
which has made residents wonder, if missiles can hit near that, is anywhere in Israel safe.
President Trump spoke today at a roundtable in Tennessee about the Memphis Safe Task Force.
Flanked by War Secretary Pete Hegseth, Attorney General Pam Bondi, and a host of federal and local leaders, the president praised the force's work.
Just as we have in D.C. here in Memphis, we've achieved one of the largest, fastest declines in violent crime ever recorded.
So that's something, right?
Ever recorded. That includes a 60% drop in robberies, a 7% percent.5.5.
74% drop in carjacking and motor vehicle thefts.
We have always achieved numbers that are good.
These numbers are right on line to be among the best that we've done.
He also announced that National Guard troops who have been enforcing the law in Memphis
will receive active duty pay and benefits.
Today I'm pleased to announce that the Secretary of War just signed a directive
to ensure that all National Guard members serving on this task force as well as in D.C.
New Orleans and our Border Security missions will receive the same benefits as active duty troops
because you deserve it.
That's not bad.
We've told you about Gabby Stout, a high school student who created a tribute to Charlie Kirk at her school.
Her school gave her permission to paint the campus spirit rock with a message honoring Charlie's legacy.
Then overnight, the school turned on Gabby.
They ordered her tribute to be painted over and accused her of vandalism.
They even launched a criminal investigation.
They violated her First Amendment rights.
Alliance Defending Freedom took up Gabby's case, challenging the school district censorship and harassment at no cost to Gabby.

version of SNL launched this weekend with a political sketch of British Prime Minister Kier-Starmour
preparing for a phone call with Donald Trump. Daily Wire Entertainment reporter Amanda Harding has the details.
In this bold first sketch, SNL UK's comedians lampoon their own leader portraying Keir Starmer as deeply
conflict-averse, while Donald Trump, besides saying hello on the phone before being hung up on,
was largely peripheral. This setup was that Starmor couldn't bring himself to speak with
Trump over the Iran conflict and the UK's unwillingness to join the fray. The first thing
Starmor says is this. Oh, golly. Well, what if Donald shouts at me? The sketch proceeds to
paint Starmor as the meeker end of a bad relationship, where his deputy prime minister, David Lamy,
brings in a Genzi advisor to help him build confidence.
The advisor tells Summer to send a voice note instead of a call resulting in this.
Hi, Donald.
I'm afraid I can't go to war with you.
But that doesn't mean we can't still be chums.
All in all, it was SNL but British, and Donald Trump, the real one, even shared the clip in good humor.
In a notable legal case, an Ohio company was ordered to pay $22.5 million.
to a woman whose baby died after the company denied her request to work from home during a high-risk pregnancy.
The woman, Chelsea Walsh, requested to work from home for her job following a medical operation.
Doctors recommended bed rest and remote work due to the high-risk nature of her pregnancy.
But the company, total quality logistics, denied the request.
Unable to go without her income and health insurance, Walsh continued to go into the office.
She then experienced premature labor at 20 weeks and tragically lost the baby.
The company has stated that they disagree with the verdict and are exploring legal options.
The murder suspect in the Loyola University slaying turned out to be a Venezuelan illegal alien released twice by the Biden administration.
Daily Wire immigration reporter Jenny Tare has the details.
According to DHS, Jose Medina was arrested after he allegedly approached college freshman Sheridan Gorman and fired one round as she tried to run.
Medina was previously released into the country after crossing the border illegally in May 20.
The Venezuelan National then allegedly shoplifted from a Chicago Macy's in June 23.
He failed to appear for his hearing in that case, leading the judge to issue a warrant.
The shooting of Sheridan Gorman occurred shortly after 1 a.m. last Thursday, while the 18-year-old student was walking with friends to try to see the northern lights.
DHS is now pressuring sanctuary politicians in Illinois not to release the illegal immigrant.
An ICE detainer has been lodged with local police, but due to sanctuary laws, there is little expectation they will honor it.
Medina was expected in court Monday, but the hearing was delayed since he was hospitalized with tuberculosis.
Daily Wire's own Mary Margaret O'lahan asked President Trump about the case, and he said this.
It's devastating. These people were let in by Biden. We're getting them out. We're getting them out fast.
That's why ICE is so important. They're doing such a good job.
Just remember this. Joe Biden and that gang of radical left lunatics, these people have hurt our country very badly.
President Trump sparked uproar over the weekend after the death of former FBI director Robert Mueller at 81.
Daily Wire political reporter Cameron Arcan reports.
Mueller, who served as FBI director under President's George W. Bush and Obama, was appointed special counsel to investigate allegations of Russian collusion in the 2016 presidential election.
He largely faded into private life after his roughly two-year-long investigation that made him a hero to Democrats and a rival to the president.
The report ended up suggesting that Russia had interfered in the election, but it did not establish a criminal conspiracy between the Trump campaign in Moscow.
Trump responded to the news of Mueller's death in passing in a post on true social writing good.
I'm glad he's dead. He can no longer hurt innocent people.
Amazon Studios has their first major box office hit with Project Hail Mary.
Daily Wire Culture reporter Megan Basham has the story.
Project Hail Mary starring Ryan Gosling shattered Amazon's previous box office record,
earning over $80 million domestically and $140 million internationally in its opening weekend.
The movie now has one of the best opening weekends for a non-franchise film of all time.
10 years into the movie business and four years after acquiring MGM studios, Amazon finally has
its blockbuster. Based on the novel by Andy Weir, who also wrote The Martian, the movie stars
Ryan Gosling as Dr. Ryland Grace, who wakes up on a ship in deep space with no memory of who
he is or how he got there. The film has been praised for its visuals, humor, and moving,
yet family-friendly story. Although some dire action scenes earned it a PG-13 rating,
many, including the Daily Wire's Matt Walsh, have noticed that the movie feels more PG and would be
perfectly appropriate for some younger family members.
All right, those are your drive home updates.
To learn more about these stories, go to DailyWire.com, and in case you missed it earlier today,
we covered some major stories, including President Trump's deadline for Iran to open the straight of Hormuz,
ICE officers backing up TSA, and news apps bearing conservative reporting on the nation's biggest stories.
Thanks for tuning in.
We'll be back tomorrow morning with another full edition of Morning Wire.
