Starting point is 00:00:00 The following podcast is a dear media production. Welcome back to the Not Skinny Bonafat podcast. I'm your host, Amanda Hirsch, and I still can't believe that I get to chat with some of my favorite stars on my very own podcast, where you'll feel like you're just talking shit with your best friends in your living room. You guys should be really happy. You can't smell my breath right now. I just finished my breakfast.
Starting point is 00:00:33 I've been on a hyperfixation breakfast meal of can of tuna plus hard-boiled egg situation, which when I first made it, I was like, oh my God, what is this epic invention? And of course, I'm on the 30th time in a row of eating it. And at this point, it's just like, you know, the protein that I'm like, it'll keep me full. Because a lot of things don't keep me full. Like, unfortunately, I love, like, what's delicious to me is more of a sweeter breakfast. So, like, cheese seed pudding. But I have to say, like, even times that I've added protein powder. Like, I'd just say yogurt sometimes, even though it does have the chia seeds, which has tons
Starting point is 00:01:14 of fiber and, like, the protein powder, it's still not, like, really filling me. Same as with, like, a scrambled egg. Like, I don't know. What's wrong with me, by the way? But this is very filling. Like, hard boiled egg plus tuna. It's like, you're going to explode. So it keeps you full.
Starting point is 00:01:30 And, but at this point, it's just, like, disgusting. Like, I'm just like, ugh. I'm like, not again. But it's a good breakfast. And until I get another idea or see another reel that is super easy. I love those super easy ones. Take an egg, add a can of tuna, add some light mayo, some Greek yogurt, little bit of spices, whatever floats your boat. For me, a hyperfixation has been the ranch seasoning from Trader Joe's, which I'm also going to get sick of because I've been using it absolutely everything.
Starting point is 00:02:04 spread that on a little rice cake and there you have it. A meal that used to be good 30 times ago. Anyway, let's get into today's guest because I posted before I went to the studio and I wrote that I am intimidated by this guest, which a lot of you guessed him. I don't know how you do it. I don't know how you guys do it. And I don't know why I was intimidated because I've met him before and I was intimidated the last time and then was proven that he's.
Starting point is 00:02:34 was really great and there was nothing to be intimidated by. And it's like I forgot it. Here I was going into this podcast with him, even though I've done, I was on his show. And I saw that he wasn't intimidated like intimidating like I thought he would be. But I, but I forgot it. Okay. And I was reintimidated. Okay. Reintimidated because his show just came back on Bravo still flipping out. I saw all the memes and the things and the interviews and I was like, oh my God, you know, he's a sassy. He's a. He's a. a sassy guy. He's a snarky guy. He's a snidey guy. And he's quick and he could look you up and down and kill you with his laser eyes. So I did go into it intimidated, which I even shared with him. And he just
Starting point is 00:03:17 is the best. Like he's so great, so fun. Wait, did I say it's Jeff Lewis yet? It's Jeff Lewis. You guys, Jeff Lewis still flipping out is on Bravo, back on Bravo. Flipping out was on for years. Now it's still flipping out. And he has a mega hit, mega successful. podcast slash radio show chumps chumpelumps if you know if you're a chump you know who you are and it's just great to have him back on our TVs and like I said not intimidating at all me lying. I'm just kidding. Not intimidating at all like actually so sweet like I feel like he would kill me if I said that but he really is and I don't know if he knows this but he really made my day because I don't know first of all I'm on my period and like I'm feeling all types of
Starting point is 00:04:04 ways. And also I'm feeling like, you know, sometimes you need a little ego boost in this business. Like, it's a roller coaster. I'm sure, first of all, in any industry that you're in, whatever job you have. But in this industry, it's a lot to, you know, feel, you can feel on top of the world one day. You could feel like a total loser the other day, the next day. And I was having one of those days where I'm like, you know, not a midlife crazy, quarter life because I'm so young. But when he came back, so we already said goodbyes. And then he came back into the studio and he was like, you know, I just want to tell you. And I thought he was going to be like cut out everything we talked on. He's like, I just want to tell you like how great you are. And what a good interviewer you are. And like that just, I could cry. Like I was going to cry.
Starting point is 00:05:00 Like it was a period day. It was a, it was, you know, and then it just made me feel so good. And obviously I told him how much I appreciate that. And he was trying to give me like, he was like, you should do another podcast a week. I was like, don't give dear media ideas. But he was just really, really kind to me and not me being intimidated for it. And it really meant a lot to me. So you're thinking of giving someone a compliment because you're feeling it.
Starting point is 00:05:26 And he was on his way out. Like he was already at the elevator and he literally turned back to come in. to say that to me. And little did he know that he made my day, my week, my month, and hopefully it'll be my year. So I think I've said this before in life. But if you're thinking something positive about somebody, tell them, you know,
Starting point is 00:05:44 because you don't know how much it could mean to them in that moment. Damn, I got deep. Well, let's get real shallow. Enjoy this one with Jeff Lewis. I know I did. If I'm the ugliest I've ever been on this recording, I'll know who to blame. Your hair looks great.
Starting point is 00:06:02 Thank you. Your makeup looks good. Thank you. You look good. Thank you. Well, you don't know about the right side. Why don't you like your right side? So if you look at my hair pattern, the hair grows forward naturally on the left side.
Starting point is 00:06:16 Yeah. On the right side, it grows back. And it actually accentuates the hair loss. I see what you're saying. So that's why I like. Right. It grows that way. Can you not comb that?
Starting point is 00:06:29 the other side that way? No, because it's thinning right now. So when I was younger, it was fine. I had all this hair and then I could do that. Yeah. But now, no. So what do you do? Do you take any of the peptides for hair?
Starting point is 00:06:41 I'm taking monocidal and I'm taking finesteride. But here's the problem. It helps you keep your hair. But you don't really grow, a little bit, but not much. So I talked to Andy, I go, how is your hair so good? He's like, I'm taking the monocidal finesteroide. But he started years ago. So he never lost anything.
Starting point is 00:07:01 I should have started. And you don't know if it's like genetics. I should have started a long time ago. No, he's been taking it for, John Hill told me he's making for years and years and years. Wait, what's the finecheride? Finesteride and monoxide. Is that the peptide?
Starting point is 00:07:14 They're both for hair loss. Hems makes it, and they put it together in one pill. So, but okay, that's pills. I'm talking about the new wave. Oh, the BPC 157, all that kind of stuff. Do you do all that stuff? I'm doing that.
Starting point is 00:07:26 I do the glow stack, but I did overdose with testosterone, And I think my one of the, it could be one of the contributing factors to my irregular heartbeat. Wait, that's scary. I know I got to go in and get it. They're going to shock it back into the rhythm. Does it give you anxiety when it's irregular? Just some tightness and a little bit of like shortness of breath.
Starting point is 00:07:47 That's scary. So if I do that today, don't worry about it because I'm good. I'm fine. I'm not going to pass out or anything. Okay. But why would you overdose on testosterone? Because I wasn't doing the follow-up checkup. checking my blood. I didn't know. I didn't know I was overdosing, but I was.
Starting point is 00:08:04 So the doctor prescribed you too much? Well, it's not his fault because I was supposed to be doing the regular blood. You were supposed to getting checked. And okay. And I didn't know. I didn't do. Okay. Okay. Well, Jeff Lewis is here. I was intimidated by you. I still am a little bit. That's so crazy because you were on my show and you did great. Okay, so I was intimidated before your show. And then I did your show and I was like, oh my God, he's not intimidating. And then I got re-intimidated this time, even though I reminded myself that I was on your show and you were so nice. But you just, you kind of have that. Do people not say that to you? They do. But you're smart and you're
Starting point is 00:08:41 competent. I don't have issues with, you know, functional people. It's the dysfunctional people. You know what I mean? Like, I don't have, you've got to know, like, we probably never have a problem. Never. No. Okay. That makes me happy. Yeah. I wonder. because I was watching the new show still flipping out episode one so funny so good and I was like okay I see what I was intimidated by but then I see this other guy who's like best friends with his employees cracking up all day making jokes so you really like kind of walk that line of like you do have it in you to like scare people if you want to right but okay so you notice the ones that are competent, the ones that get their job done, we can joke around because I still know
Starting point is 00:09:31 they can multitask. They can joke around a bit, but they'll stick to get the work done at the end of the day. So, you know, someone like Shane, I very rarely have any problems with Shane, very rarely. Kean, very rarely any problems. Kean, is that the good looking one that is spelled, she, would say he's the good looking one. No, but Shane, I know he's Shane, but then there was another boy. He's handsome. C-I-A-N. Yes. He and Shane are like. like my strongest employees. So they're kind of, I mean, I say they're MVP's, they are. Are they friends?
Starting point is 00:10:02 They're friends. Yeah, I mean, yes, but I don't think they hang out on weekends. I mean, they spend all week together. Right. You don't want to spend, you know, what was that girl I just met? Well, they're working in the studio. Oh, but you know what hang out with her? Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Starting point is 00:10:15 Like she's nice and cool, but if you're working with her every day. But do you hang out with Shane on the weekends? Well, Shane and I are codependent. You have a really deep relationship. Yeah, yeah. It's borderline that movie obsession. Who's the girl? Probably me.
Starting point is 00:10:34 Wait, so how many years has it been? Also, he looks 24. I know, he's young looking. He's like 29. It's almost 30. But God, he always, I always ask him. Is it six years? When was COVID?
Starting point is 00:10:46 2020. So six years? Six years. Are you scared he would ever leave? I don't think he'd ever leave. Wow. I think we have a lot of fun together. And then now he's chief of staff. Chief of staff.
Starting point is 00:11:01 Did you give him that title? No. He chose it. Self-appointed. Wow. But you know what he kind of is? He handles everything. So it makes sense. It completely makes sense. How do you balance the... He's angling for a race right now. Okay. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:11:16 Does that get awkward when there's stuff like that? No, I told him. I'm like, yeah, you deserve a race. We just got to figure it out. Well, that's the other thing. I like, okay, so there's like Jeff Lewis can be intimidating, but then you see how like friendly and and and and great he is with the people that work for him. And then you're very open about money stuff. You talk about it a lot and you're very comfortable talking about it. I feel like which you're all over the press right now with the comment you made to Andy.
Starting point is 00:11:42 Oh, about the babysitter. Yeah. Did you see how crazy that went? I thought that was. It's everywhere. Of all the stories to go viral. And like you type in your name. That's like the 20, 20 articles about it.
Starting point is 00:11:54 But I mean, I really, I mean, look, I have an idea the kind of money that Andy makes, right? I think $30 an hour is on the low end, especially for two kids. But what if she said that's the price that she takes? Was he supposed to think as a wealthy person been like, let me give you more? Yeah. Okay. That's what I would do. See, but so you're, you're generous. I'm generous and I again, I pay for, I pay for competency, right? So if somebody's, if they're really good at their job, I take good care of them. Because you said yours makes 37 and she's watching just Monroe.
Starting point is 00:12:30 3750. However, this week, not only she's making 3750, she's going to get a nice travel bonus because she's here with me in New York with Monroe, my daughter. And she gives the best foot massages. So I've been giving her an extra hundred for a 30 minute foot massage to put me to sleep. How did you discover that she gives good foot massages? I don't know how we discovered that. When was the day?
Starting point is 00:12:54 I don't know how we discovered that. But I mean, she's done three this week so far. So she's made an extra 300. And I fall as to. It's until I fall asleep. But here's the thing. I fall asleep in 30 minutes. It's good money.
Starting point is 00:13:07 So she has to like look over and be like, he's out. Well, last night she tried to like sneak out a little early. And you were like. And I go, you forgot my calf. She goes, oh, I thought you were asleep. So the lines. So she came back and then she did my calf and then I went to sleep. So she's making good money.
Starting point is 00:13:22 Wait, is Andy mad at you for bringing that up and now it's everywhere? I don't think so. Well, you know what? In the moment, if you see it, he was defensive. He was like texting Kelly Ripper and shit. Like, what do you pay your babysitter? Did she answer? Oh, he was texting.
Starting point is 00:13:38 Kelly Ripper's kids are 30. He was texting all his famous friends. I want to say like he texted three people, at least three people live on the radio. Like this is such a big deal to him. Yeah, and then he said that he, it was actually 70 for two hours. No, seven. Two hours and 15 minutes. And I said to him, I, you know, I probably would have given her 100, which I would have.
Starting point is 00:14:02 So you are very generous, which people maybe take advantage of since what your employees racked up $9,000 in lunch bills. Is that true? That's the true number. Yeah, one month, 9,000. That's crazy. And that was breakfast and lunch. You give them breakfast and lunch. Yeah, but here's the problem.
Starting point is 00:14:20 They were, I think they were ordering more than they needed and taking it home. And it wasn't Goop that was expensive. Goop is reasonable. What they did is I got tired of Goop because we were eating Goop every day. And I go, I don't want to eat go. I go, we got a little pause on Goop. So they started looking at other restaurants, but they don't ever look at price tags. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:14:40 So that's why I gave them, you know, free reign to choose restaurants. And that's how that month went to 9,300. I go, no, no, no, no, we got to pull this back. What's your Goop order? I like that terriaki chicken. Yeah, I saw Shane was talking about it too. It's very good. But the problem with me is I pick one order and I do it every day for weeks, weeks, weeks,
Starting point is 00:15:02 months. And then all of a sudden I'm sick of it. I don't want to ever have it again. Same. I feel the same way. So that's what happened with Goop. The same thing happened to me with Goop. They opened in New York, you know.
Starting point is 00:15:10 Oh, they did. They did open in New York. So I had that. I went through it. I did those summer rolls a lot. And the portions are a bit on the small side, but that's good for me. Okay. Because I'll just keep eating and eating and eating until the bowl's empty.
Starting point is 00:15:23 So how did you end this spending? And do they have credit cards? They use mine. They use yours. Okay. But taking it home is on another level. That's already an issue. And how I noticed that too is that would go in, we have, I have two refruit, well, two little, you know, two kitchens, whatever.
Starting point is 00:15:40 So I would check. They were hiding it in the secondary kitchen. Because they never go in the secondary kitchen. So I started looking in the secondary kitchen and I could see all of this food. So they all were doing it. They were all over ordering and then taking it home. So just paying for all their meals because I pay for breakfast in the morning. Now I'm paying for lunch.
Starting point is 00:15:59 And I did notice. It's like, wow, you're eating a lot for lunch today, but they weren't eating it for lunch. They were saving it for later. They sure were. So you're on top of that now. Ish. So that's the thing. It's like maybe you need to reintroduce the fear into their lives.
Starting point is 00:16:17 I know. It's just a lot of work. So we did for a minute, like I picked maybe five very reasonably priced restaurants. Yeah. But then I didn't want to eat there. Right. So you're not going to order something that they won't eat. We did a food service for a minute.
Starting point is 00:16:33 What about flights when you fly? Do you fly everyone with you in this? That's another thing. Sometimes, yeah. But this time I've got to, I have six people with me. So three are in premium econ. That's not bad. It's nice.
Starting point is 00:16:47 It's not bad. It's not bad at all. I don't fly them economy. I fly them either premium econ or business. I'll do comfort. Comfort for Delta or whatever. Yes, I'll do that. That's nice.
Starting point is 00:16:58 A lot of times they do business. Wow. Jeff. I know. But can I tell you? And even LA, New York, it's become really expensive. Well, that's why they're in premium econ. Right.
Starting point is 00:17:09 Business. LA New York is already like what, at least like three. It was six grand round trip. So I put Monroe and I'm business. Yeah. And then we're in row nine. They're in row like 12 or whatever. Right. That's what I'm saying. The premium isn't bad. It's like four rows and it's right behind the...
Starting point is 00:17:23 It's not bad. It's not bad. They feed them. That's really nice. I've heard, well, who said this? Kristen Cavaleri or some famous mom said that she flies business and her kids are in coach. I think I know which famous mom. Was it not Kristen Cavaleri? Well, I was on a Delta one flight and I had all my people in Delta One and Mariska Hargatee who prints money. She was her and her husband. Everyone was in the back. The kids, the nanny, everyone. I don't know. Yeah. With that law and order money,
Starting point is 00:17:56 I probably would have done Delta One. I flew with my assistant once, and because I cheaped out on business for both of us, I just flew economy with her. See, that I'm not going to do. I should do it, though. I did it once with Monroe. And she complained.
Starting point is 00:18:11 That's Gen Z for you. Well, Shane is spoiled, yeah. Shane is spoiled. Yeah, really spoiled them. But that is really nice. And yeah, I feel weird about separating, you know? Like, I'm here.
Starting point is 00:18:23 That's like very classist feels like to me. Let's talk about awakening the haters with still flipping out. You were saying you awaken the haters. I'd tell you, when I did your show, I feel like my DMs exploded on like a Kardashian level. Like when I had the Kardashians out and like it was like, jump, jump, jump, jump. Like people, you said it was like, it's culty. So what haters are you talking about? Oh, well, I have two different.
Starting point is 00:18:51 So I've got the flipping out haters. I also have the Jeff Lewis live haters. That hate listen? Oh, yeah. Okay. Oh, yeah. You don't have that? I don't know.
Starting point is 00:19:01 I think you're really nice and well liked. No, no, no, no, no, wait. I have haters for sure. There's a community. But I don't know if they're like hate listening to my interviews. It's different with you because you like talk about your. You're just fucking around. Like you're talking about stuff.
Starting point is 00:19:16 I'm screwing around. I love getting a reaction from people. Yeah. I do. I know this is crazy. I like the hate. I really. I was wondering if it gets to you.
Starting point is 00:19:27 No. No. You know, it used to. I mean, I've been doing this for a long time. I think when the flipping out first aired, which was like 2008, I was kind of thrown off with the amount of hate. We'll be right back after the break. Today's episode is sponsored by the ASPCA Pet Health Insurance Program.
Starting point is 00:19:48 Listen, we all love our pets. Our pets are part of our families, but this is what happens. Okay, with pets, they get ill or something goes wrong at the worst times, right? There's never a good time to be dealing with a pet situation. And it's so weird because we insure everything in our lives, our phones, our jewelry, our cars. but we sometimes don't insure our pets, like what the hellie? So if you've ever owned a pet, you really know that they run on their own time and logic. So you really can't predict when something is going to go down and when you're going to end up with a vet visit that's going to cost you out your nose.
Starting point is 00:20:29 Okay. That's why ASPCA pet health insurance helps cover eligible vet expenses. Getting into cr. crisp sheets, crisp blanket covering myself, shutting off my damn phone, okay? And I feel like weirdly, even though I'm not excited for winter, okay? But weirdly, the colder it gets the, like, more satisfying it is to get into bed at the end of the day. It's just like so cozy. But what is really making me feel extra cozy is the fact that I use Bowling Branch, okay?

Starting point is 00:25:58 anything. Anything. And I truly live my life in a bubble. I could walk down the streets of New York. I have no idea of people like me or hate me. I have no clue. With shows, like, I don't even know. Today's show, was it a good one? Don't know. Was it bad? Don't know.
Starting point is 00:26:13 Did I piss people off? Don't know. I don't read it. And I'm so much happier living in my bubble. I have no idea what's going on. I don't watch the news. I don't read. Oh, my God, you're like Alex Earl just said the last book she read was like this is.
Starting point is 00:26:27 So, okay, so, but you know they exist. How do you? Oh, I know they exist. Because they get through, you know. Yeah, yeah. Do they ever call in? Or is there ever I call? Oh yeah.
Starting point is 00:26:37 Oh yeah. They call in. And then sometimes they'll like my family will get upset about things and they'll call me. Can you believe? I go, don't worry about it. Like I don't, if I don't care, you shouldn't care. Yeah. So you develop that thick skin pretty quickly in the game.
Starting point is 00:26:52 It's not. It wasn't quick. Oh, it wasn't quick. I'm doing this a really long time. Now I truly, truly don't care. You don't, huh? And it's weird. I'm not just saying that.
Starting point is 00:27:01 Like, I don't really care what people think. I used to care about people thought. And then as each, you just get hardened. As each year goes on, today, there's nothing you can say about me that hasn't been said a thousand times. Oh, what are you going to talk about? My lips, my this, I'm old, I'm that, da, da, whatever. I've heard it all. It doesn't even affect me.
Starting point is 00:27:20 I'm immune. What used to affect you the most? I think whenever they go after, I think anyone, when they go after your appearance, I used to have an issue with that. I also felt the need to try to explain myself. And no, that's not what happened. Like, actually, this is what happened. But, you know, it's exhausting. And I realized that I could explain everything to you.
Starting point is 00:27:43 I could factually go through. This is the timeline. Here are the texts. Here are the pictures. Here's this. And you still won't believe me. There are people out there, they don't want to believe me. They don't want to believe me.
Starting point is 00:27:55 They want to hate me. And they can also, if they love you, right? So I used to joke about this all the time with Jenny Poulos. she was beloved. Okay. It didn't matter if she did anything. And she, you know, she's made some missteps. Did not matter.
Starting point is 00:28:12 They just did not believe it. Untouchable. They did not believe it. Right. And they didn't believe it. And I realized this is, I'm not even going to try to explain it to you, people. I always said that she could murder someone in the middle of SoFi Stadium and in cold blood and get away with it. Would you want to be one of those people?
Starting point is 00:28:28 No. No? No, because that kind of person doesn't lead a, show. They she was a great character, but she was always kind of the side piece. What happened with her? She and I had a falling out and I could all, you know, just to sum it up, I think she just started believing her own bullshit. Okay. And she had hired agent manager publicist that just sucked up to her all day long and told her how great she was and talented she was and she's bigger than flipping out bigger than Bravo and
Starting point is 00:29:03 And she did a couple shady things. And, you know, we had to end things. And it was unfortunate because we were friends for very long time. Good friends. Yeah. And you didn't reconcile with her since. You know, I don't think we would have ever got back to where we were. But I did attempt.
Starting point is 00:29:21 And she did not respond. Speaking of falling outs, when I came on your show, there was Annie drama. And I didn't know about Annie. Now we're getting to know Annie on the show, very generous. N-Z, like emulsified. So she, when I came on your show, you guys were literally, you were heated, you brought her to New York, I remember.
Starting point is 00:29:42 Yeah, that was a tough week. To do social stuff and she like didn't do anything or something. Like when I say she did nothing, she did nothing. Which again, it goes back to your generosity of like, how does that happen? Like there's a TikTok that I just saw today where the guy was like, when you take advantage of good people, like they'll do it again, and again and again.
Starting point is 00:30:03 And then they're shocked when the person just gets to their, they get to their limit. And when I've allowed somebody to make mistakes nine times and forgiven them and let them come back into the fold, they expect me to do it 10 more times. And they get shocked. And all of a sudden I'm like, I'm done. I'm at my limit.
Starting point is 00:30:23 Was it that New York trip that you had fired her? Because fans are, fans that listen to the show knows. It was a little more drawn out than that. Okay. It was a little more drawn out than that. But I have to preface it by saying I had a lot of fun with her. She's a good time.
Starting point is 00:30:37 We laughed a lot. And, you know, she's got this I don't care attitude. And it was kind of fun to hang out with her. But the work performance was not great. She worked for Heather McDonald's before. Who you also had a thing with, no? Yes. A little thing or a big thing?
Starting point is 00:30:57 A big thing. I've had a lot of big things, a lot of little things, a lot of things. A lot of things. A lot of things. Why? I think it has a lot to do. You know, first of all, I'm with the Heather thing. I'm going to own it.
Starting point is 00:31:09 I had some accountability there. Sometimes, most of the time, I have a role. I played a role, right? I might have mishandled something. I might have done something and upset them. Maybe I didn't apologize right. Maybe I didn't soon enough, whatever. But there are those situations where I clearly, where I know I did absolutely nothing wrong,
Starting point is 00:31:28 where I did the best I knew how to do in a situation. I did and Heather and I were friends I was a part of that I miss handled a few things and she mishandled a few things and it went too far it went too far and it's and then you took her assistant yes I took her assistant after you weren't friends anymore she quit though oh she quit she had quit and she was available and she actually when she focuses she's good at her job so I'm not going to say she's not I'm going to say she's not good at her job she's good at her job she's inconsistent. Okay.
Starting point is 00:32:03 So I saw TikToks about her that people were saying she did a whole like premiere night. She said she reached out to you and invited you. I was in New York. I don't know if I mean, I don't think I would have gone. But I appreciate the invite. So we have this. I was angry for the anger. And I realize anger is masking hurt.
Starting point is 00:32:23 So I realized I was. I was hurt. And as a result, I was angry. And that went on for a few months. And then the anger's gone away. way and I actually miss her. And I've actually even thought about bring her back. It would have to be different.
Starting point is 00:32:41 It would have to be a whole different. A lot of boundaries. Someone's doing your social media. No one's doing it right now. There's so many girlies that know how to do it. I haven't found the right person. Really? Who gets me.
Starting point is 00:32:52 How, okay. So how do you, how do you, okay, how do you interview someone and can tell that they're like, they can fit in? Like, what do you need to see? And that person. You don't know right away. They, they tend to settle in quicker, right?
Starting point is 00:33:06 Some people don't ever settle in. Some people don't ever get comfortable. Some people don't ever get it. They never get the humor. They feel they're being attacked. See, the other thing, too, is my love language is teasing. When you tease me, I am like crazily drawn to you.
Starting point is 00:33:21 Wait, I remember because I said something to you on your show. One thing, what was? And you were like, you were so happy about it. I'm happy about it. I'm happy about it. made like a snide comment to you.
Starting point is 00:33:32 Yes. I can't remember what it was. That's my love language. That buys your love. So that's what people have to do. If you interview with Jeff, you have to like. Insult me. I love it.
Starting point is 00:33:41 I think it's funny. Insult me. So, okay. So if someone comes in, they're like nervous and that's less the vibe. I come from a very sarcastic family that masks their emotions with jokes. Yeah. So that's kind of how I've learned to live and bond with people. That's how my family bonds.
Starting point is 00:33:59 So, I mean, we could go to a funeral and we'll be on the way home from the funeral making jokes about the funeral and the deceased. So that, even though we're in mourning, it's weird. So that to me has always been connection. And I'm afraid that my daughter is turning out just like me where it's not great, where we kind of banter back and forth. Does she make fun of you? All the time. And that is how we connect. laugh. I laugh and she laughs. Do you make fun of her back? I do all the time. I can mimic her or yeah.
Starting point is 00:34:37 Wait, she's nine. So that's the fourth grade. I'd have to have Shane. No, she's in fourth. She's in fourth. Well, let's talk about how the show even came back. How long have you been off the air? Eight years. Eight years. I did another show in between. What was it? It was for Amazon. It was called the Hollywood House Lift. Okay. And that did that give you? That show was very important. I'll tell you why. Okay. Oh, why is it important?
Starting point is 00:35:03 Because Bravo, they felt in 2019 the show could not go on without Jenny. Now, I was a little stunned by that because it was a big cast. This was always my business, my clients, my homes, my employees. I was a little shocked by that. So I went and did Hollywood House Lift and then they knocked on my door. And they said, so actually how it went down. is I ran into the president of the network, and she had said, we miss you, the door is always open.
Starting point is 00:35:37 Now, actually, slammed the door on me, but whatever, I like her. So I said, thank you so much, but I'm really happy at Amazon. And the show got canceled. And then I saw it another event, and I said, hey, remember six months ago when you said the door was always open, I need a job. And the development called me next day. Wow. So that, what I believe is that show,
Starting point is 00:36:00 and the radio show proved that my success is not tied in entertainment is not tied to Jenny Pulos. Her ego probably got big if the show was canceled because of her leaving. Who? Jenny. She got big. I'm saying didn't her head get big at that time if the show, did she know that's why the show got canceled?
Starting point is 00:36:23 Yeah. And asked me what she's done since. What has she done since? Absolutely fucking nothing. Oh my God. Yeah. But did you go into Bravo like clean this time? Like did you put that away?
Starting point is 00:36:39 It's weird because somebody, I don't know if it was, somebody has said, hey, you know, are you still angry at Bravo? No, not at all. In fact, what happened was that anger was very short-lived because you get to, I immediately bounced back because Netflix, I had immediately started having talks with Netflix. and then that deal didn't go through. And then I went to Amazon. But when doors started opening pretty quickly,
Starting point is 00:37:09 I was like, you know what? I'm grateful to Bravo. Thank you so much for that platform. Right. Because you, I didn't know. You know, I actually thought I was kind of done. So I didn't really know. And when the doors started opening, I was like, wow, okay, I really.
Starting point is 00:37:23 I'm just saying started. I'm going to be real grateful here. Right. So I was, there are people that are still very bitter, by the way, ex, X Bravo. Lebrides. But for me, about you? No about their firings. Oh, okay. Their layoffs.
Starting point is 00:37:37 Yeah, yeah, yeah. But for me, I bounced back really quickly. They did something shitty, though, that I'll never forget. You know, when you go into the lobby at Bravo, they have pictures of their talent. And I don't know if it was an assistant who mishandled it, but they sent me a picture of the picture. Do you want this? And I was like, wow.
Starting point is 00:37:56 And it was quick. And I was like, wow, that's rude. And I go, no, what am I going to do with, you know, a picture the size of a, you know, a 10 by 15 foot wall? Yeah. But the way that that was just, do you want this? Yeah. Because we're getting rid of it. Did they put it back?
Starting point is 00:38:14 No, they took it down. No, now. Oh, I wish they'd put it back because I look a lot better then than I did, you know, I do now, which is why I asked you for this chair. Do you want to explain to your listeners that you normally don't sit in that chair? I really don't love my right side, but I did ask you. But Mariah Carey came in, aka Jeff Lewis. And I asked him, do you have a side? And he thought about it.
Starting point is 00:38:39 And he said, I do. I really do. And I explained it to and you understand. Of course I understand. Kim Kardashian doesn't have a side when I asked her, by the way. She's fucking beautiful. Of course she doesn't have a side. She's like symmetrical A.F.
Starting point is 00:38:50 Okay, so we're happy to be back on Bravo. Right? Very. Very happy. I love the first episode. I can't wait to see. the rest of the show, these chumps. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:38:59 These chumps. Can you explain to people that don't know, like, how that started, how you call your co-host chumps? And then the listeners, your listeners, your listeners call themselves chumps. Yeah. So the listeners and the co-hosts identify as chumps, which, you know, Andy said in the first episode,
Starting point is 00:39:13 he compares it to Howard Stern's whack pack. And so it is a, it started off as a very, very kind of tight, small group. It has grown very large to the point where I, you know, I can't walk into it without someone screaming. And they scare me sometimes that I'm a chop. I'm a chump. And basically what happened is David Bador, Shannon Bador's husband.
Starting point is 00:39:35 I had said some things about him on the radio. And he just kept texting me incessantly and called me a chump like 15 times. He also called my listener's chumps. So we just. You owned it. We owned it. We embraced it. And honestly,
Starting point is 00:39:47 I thank him so much. We have all kinds of merch. All kinds of merch. And then how did you decide to format your radio show in that way of like, well, you said, I don't want to do it alone, which I totally feel you. Like when I have to do a solo pod sometimes, I don't know how you do it. I couldn't do it. It's weird for me.
Starting point is 00:40:03 I couldn't do it. It is how I started. So I would try to like remind myself like when you started. You just used to do that. But today it is a weird feeling. So I really understood you when you said that. And you're like the opposite. You have like five people at all times.
Starting point is 00:40:17 I feed off people's. I'm an emotional vampire. I feed off people's energy. And how did you collect these humans? Yeah. Like Doug. Where'd you get Doug from? I met him at some party and I thought he was, it was that we had a mutual friend and I was invited to the guy's birthday party.
Starting point is 00:40:32 And I'm like, what a strange, quirky man. I go, you should come on radio and they love him, love him. He is so popular. But you said Joey is the most popular. No, Joey is not the most popular, but he's very popular. He's funny. He's disarming. Is he still on?
Starting point is 00:40:50 Yes. Like today. But I remember you guys had some stuff. Is it the stuff that we saw on the show? You're going to see it play out. We're going to see more. You're going to see more. We're going to see more.
Starting point is 00:41:01 And you're going to see more Annie and more Justin and more. Yeah, there's a lot. Who's the least problematic? They're all problematic in their own ways. I think it's about boundaries, right? So what I'm figuring out is, you know, even with Annie, because I've kind of been really thinking about this and talking about it with Shane. I'm like, is there a world where we could bring her back?
Starting point is 00:41:21 Is there a world? Because I do miss when the social media aspect too. do I not, do I have her in three days a week? Does she, is she not allowed in my home? Does she just work at Sirius XM? Does she not travel with us? Like all the things that she screwed up. Do I take that away from her initially?
Starting point is 00:41:41 And then as we move forward, is she rewarded by you get to go here now? You get to be, I know it feels like a weird. You are really thinking about I could tell. You're really mulling this Annie situation over. I think when you find somebody that fits in. Yeah. with all of our personalities because it's not easy. You know, you kind of try to want to work, work it out.
Starting point is 00:42:03 But she's immature. And I'm really kind of. How old is she? It doesn't matter. She's, you know, 11. 11. And I'm being generous. So I feel like I do think there's been some learning.
Starting point is 00:42:19 I do. I feel like she's not looking for another job if I had to guess. Yeah. She's probably waiting. Maybe. She's waiting by her door. You said that. Andy Cohen is your boss again or now.
Starting point is 00:42:29 Well. Or wait, he's your boss at Radio Inn. He's my boss at Radio Andy and he's my boss at Bravo. Is he producing? He's an EP. Oh, he is EP. Yeah. Because for people that don't know, he doesn't EP all the Bravo shows.
Starting point is 00:42:44 They're very specific ones that he does. Was that important to you? Did you care if he would or wouldn't? I didn't even think he would consider it. Yeah. And actually it all happened. It was funny because he called. me as if I'd be upset. And he goes, you know, I feel weird about this because we haven't talked to you
Starting point is 00:43:03 about it, but I'm going to be joining as an EP. I go, he goes, are you upset at all that, you know, I go, you kidding me? He goes, because no, you know, I didn't ask you or anything. I go, this is, I go, what this tells me is that you're betting on this show. Number one, for to be as busy as you are and to want to EP the show, that says a lot. That speaks volumes. Yeah. He believes in it. Totally. I think he loves you. It's a weird love hate. Because I think did he say... We're good right now.
Starting point is 00:43:33 Did he say one time that... Well, I don't think he ever wants to retire, but I think somebody asked him on the spot once, and he said you, that if he were to retire, you'd be a good replacement. And that's really a great compliment. I will tell you he'll never retire, but... He won't. He will never.
Starting point is 00:43:51 I don't think we've ever hated each other, But we have absolutely got on each other's nerves. I've gone on his nerves more than he gets on my nerve. What do you do the criticism of? He's a little more sensitive than me. So it's crazy because, you know, on his show, he's joking, joking, but he can get wounded. Like he can't take the joke back. He can take the jokes, not all the jokes.
Starting point is 00:44:19 Like for me, people go low and I think it's funny. You can't go too low with him. And you don't like you've had trouble accepting that with him or you'd keep on testing it. I, you know, I used to test a lot. I don't want to. We've had so many not falling out, but we've had so many pauses together that I don't want to do that anymore. Like I really am trying to navigate. Like don't say that, Jeff, it's a joke, but he's not going to think it's funny.
Starting point is 00:44:48 You don't think it's funny. Maybe everyone else in the room is going to think it's funny, but he won't. Yeah. So the babysitting thing, that I knew he wasn't going to be upset about that. However, he did. That's the line. He did want to prove that he wasn't cheap. And that's why he started texting his rich friends.
Starting point is 00:45:07 So, but see, that's him. Like, you call me cheap. I'm not texting anybody. Yeah, yeah, yeah. I'm laughing about it. Right, right, right. And I'm like, why do you think I'm cheap? Like, what do you pay?
Starting point is 00:45:16 You know, it's a little different. Sometimes it gets a little defensive. So you're like going into this journey trying to tread that line more carefully, I'm hearing. I think I don't want to piss him off. I think I have found the line. We'll be right back after the break. And it's very important that I stay on the line because now, you know, he is my boss on TV and my boss and radio. Right. And, you know, that aside, we've been friends since 2007. And I mean, when I say friends, like, for a while there, we were really good friends. Like he, which I was always flattered, like, of all the Bravo talent, he would fly into L.A., we'd have dinner.
Starting point is 00:51:36 We'd go out. He'd be like, let's go out. We just had a lot of, we were kids. Like, we had a lot of fun together. Yeah. And people were always surprised because, you know, they didn't have that kind of access to Andy. But I'll tell you, I think I never talked about the show.
Starting point is 00:51:55 And he had opened up to me at one time because I'm like, I don't, like, why are you hang out with me and not anybody else? And I mean, he, he used to hang out with a few other Bravo Leberties, but he always said he's like, because, you know, you just you don't bring work into it we just have a good time like yeah and and he said he had gone out with housewives and and other talent where they they find the time to complain oh like when they have one-on-one time they want to talk about they find the time to complain about this person or complain about that person or i'm not getting enough screen time or what it or you know
Starting point is 00:52:28 all that i never did that we just had fun right well i love that so we have really kind of a nice base. Yeah. Foundation. So he didn't text you about the babysitter thing. I felt like it was done in the room. Yeah. You know what I mean?
Starting point is 00:52:44 I think he's cheap. He knows that. But he's not cheap. Like he's in life he's not cheap. Is he paying a few guys go out together? Well, I mean, a lot of times he puts it on serious and Bravo. Right. It's a business center.
Starting point is 00:52:56 So yes, he does pay, but it's always, you know, it's expensed. But I will say you seem to be overpaying. I'm overpaying. Okay. For one nine year old. Oh, I don't think I'm overpaying there. Really? I don't think.
Starting point is 00:53:11 No, no, no. I think you get what you pay for. And I said on Andy's like, I'm not going to, I don't want to end up with some sort of crackhead watching my kid. Right. But if you find somebody good, you want to like make sure they say. But I want to talk, yes. But I also want to, there's a lot of perks working for me. And I do that because these people are so committed and so loyal.
Starting point is 00:53:29 Like it's illegal how much Shane works. Illegal. And but you're because you're. You're a workaholic, like you on the show, you're acting like you're starving for bread on the street. You know, you're like, I need more work and we can't take off this day when Sirius was like, it's president's day. You were freaking out. Yeah. You're like a workaholic.
Starting point is 00:53:49 You know, I'm paying for two households, mine and my exes. I have a lot of expenses. I pay my people well. And also, like, I want to get ahead in life. You know what I mean? I want, I realize my window's closing, you know, and I'm going to. I'm going to need enough money to retire. I'm a working class millionaire.
Starting point is 00:54:08 So I need, you know what I mean? I got to, I got to make money. Yes, I'm always. And you do the radio show every day. Five days a week, two hours a day. And I just want to tell you when I do, I have, I do one episode a week. And whenever I get asked like, how many of these do you do a day? You know, and I'm like, well, I do one a week.
Starting point is 00:54:24 And I feel like it's obviously not, not that much. But it's still, and by the way, and it's still work, still work. You could do more. And people. that start podcasts sometimes, because you know, everyone tries to start a podcast. We'll talk to me and they're like, oh my God, it's, how do you do it?
Starting point is 00:54:43 And I'm like, the once a week you can't do. You know, that's when you know that like, there can be a million of something. It's like the survival of the fitness out here. And you're doing every day two hours. Yeah, I wouldn't be here if you weren't successful. I think radio might be more fun. Do you like being live more?
Starting point is 00:55:03 Love. Yeah. Love. I love the music. I love the energy. I love the mess. It's messy. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Starting point is 00:55:10 I love it. And there is nothing off limits, really. Well, I don't know if I, I think I've said this a few times. The only reason I went back to do another docu series is for the platform to bring people to radio. Radio is the long game. Well, it's basically, somebody said today in an interview you did that it's like a love letter to your radio show. It's a eight-hour commercial for my radio show. Literally.
Starting point is 00:55:36 And that's what I wanted. Are you noticing that? Did you notice more listeners like this week? That's what I wanted out of this show. Yeah. And I'm getting exactly what I wanted. So, because first of all, Bravo doesn't pay as well as Amazon. I didn't know if I wanted to open up my house again.
Starting point is 00:55:53 Yeah. And it actually was okay. We kind of settled into the groove. This is where the Bravo Marshall will come in and stop me. I'm going to be very, very respectful. It just took a minute to get the crew to acclimate because this show is filmed differently, very differently than other shows.
Starting point is 00:56:12 It's filmed differently. So it's kind of more of a true documentary. Right? There's nobody kind of telling us where to go to talk to what to say. Yeah, you're not having a lunch at Elefonte. Not unless I make the reservation. Right.
Starting point is 00:56:25 So it took a minute, because this has been eight years, and people aren't used to filming that way. So it took a minute still working on it to kind of understand how we shoot it. Are you hoping to get more and more seasons of this? Strangely enough, I would love another season, but what they do normally is they, you know, they order eight, and then they want 10, then they want 12. I kind of want to just keep it at eight. And then? Oh, no, I'll do another season.
Starting point is 00:56:51 Oh, and then another season. But I don't want to do more than eight. A season. Yeah. More than eight. I feel like it's enough. People want more. It's pretty taxing.
Starting point is 00:56:59 I think eight's good. Like shooting isn't, it sounds just like the cameras are there. You feel like it's more work? Yeah. I think people get, it's definitely more work. I think people get blinded by the money like two more episodes. Yeah, yeah, yeah. I think we're telling me to add an episode a week.
Starting point is 00:57:15 One more. Okay. I just feel like, I don't know if it's worth the cost. So I think I'm very happy with eight. I'd like to stay at eight. Love another season, but I'd like to stay at eight. Okay. You heard that, Bravo.
Starting point is 00:57:28 Oh, they're listening. Well, let's talk about some pop culture. Who are your top three housewives of all time? This is, okay. Now, you're setting me up right now. No, I'm really not. I was doing this Bravo shoot. They threw it out.
Starting point is 00:57:43 Didn't even know it would go anywhere. Oh. I started listing my favorites, right? What happens when you miss? Your texts were putting up. What happens when you miss a few names? Yeah. I'm not doing top three because I'm going to screw it up.
Starting point is 00:57:54 Okay. I actually, I have so many. housewife friends. Really? I love me some housewives. Do you watch all the housewives? I watch almost all of them. I watch more now today than I used to because of the radio. Yeah. But you know I got into Potomac. I got into Atlanta. I got it. I was always like an OG Atlanta. They lost me for a while. But then when Fadre went back and I was like, okay, I got to check back in. So I do watch Atlanta now. I watch. Are you watching the new Roney?
Starting point is 00:58:25 Yeah. Okay. What are you thinking? I love it. You love it all. I always love New New York, though. New York's one of my favorites. Same. I love New York. It's, they can't get me to not like it. I think. I think this season's very good. I love this season. Great, great cast. What do you think of Jessel and the Carolyn Bessette question to Carol? So I, I had Jessel on this week. I had Carol on this week. Yeah. I believe, look, she should have read the room. Was it insensitive? Yes. Was it inappropriate? Yes. But I said to Jessel, I believe that she was trying. She was awkward.
Starting point is 00:59:01 She was anxious. I think she was trying to connect. And I think it was a major misstep. Yeah. I don't think it came out of a, you know, a malicious place. What about the popcorn ceilings? Well, the tea is that Daisy always jokes about it, tells everyone about it before they even get there. She did.
Starting point is 00:59:22 She did do that. So all Jessel did was go in. and comment on what Daisy always talks about, which are her popcorn ceilings. And you can relate to that. Maybe that's something you would do or no? Yes, I would do that. Okay.
Starting point is 00:59:36 Yes. Yeah, I would. Uh-huh. I mean, I would have been funnier about it. I don't mind popcorn. I feel like popcorn walls would trigger me more than ceilings. I'm less triggered by the ceilings. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:59:49 I think, you know, if I could live in a nice rent control department with popcorn ceilings. You know, if maybe if I could, you know, decorate it nice and furnish it nice, hopefully I'm looking at everything but that ceiling. Now that I'm thinking about it, because I live in a rental, and I, like, renovated a bunch. I just like, we did it. We did in my kitchen. People are like, I don't you renovated rental, whatever. And I'm like, because I have, I pay great rent and I want it to be nice.
Starting point is 01:00:14 So all of a sudden now I'm thinking, like, it's not that crazy that they would ask her about if you're paying, if you're not paying that much, why not put some money into the ceiling? As a landlord, if somebody said to me, I want to spend, you know, as long as I can approve. Yeah. But I'm going to, you know, I'm going to be here for a long time. I want to drop 10 grand on the kitchen. Right. Have at it.
Starting point is 01:00:35 Right. That's why everyone was asking me. How did they approve? I was like, I don't know. I would just need to make sure people are licensed and insured because I don't want somebody to get injured and get sued. Yeah. And I also want to make sure you're not devaluing my property by putting in some ugly
Starting point is 01:00:46 kitchen. Right. Not that you don't have good taste. I'm sure you have good taste. But I would want to see what you're putting in. Right. But you can do it. People were very surprised that you could do this.
Starting point is 01:00:54 And there is a thing in New York. I don't know if it's like this in L.A. We're like people in real estate do advise that buying isn't that smart here in New York City. I think in Daisy's situation because I was privy to what she pays. Yeah. It's stupid. Like no one would leave that apartment. So I would maybe put my own money into the apartment and buy something out, you know,
Starting point is 01:01:22 the city upstate hamptons whatever i'd have a second home maybe own the second home right could live in the city for that amount of money i mean i'd rent that apartment right now when listen if martha stewart gets changed there before an event that was such a vibe i was like martha stuart walking into like a normie apartment that's such have you had her on the show she hasn't been on the show but i'd love to have on the show she's what she's kind of on my dream list she would be amazing on your show i didn't even think she knew who i was and she does And she was a surprise guest when I was on Watch What Happens Live. And she, I mean, she's lovely.
Starting point is 01:01:58 She came right up to me, knew my name, hello. I mean, maybe she just found out five minutes before. But she's good. I mean, I felt like I'm seen. I've been seen by Martha Stewart. Were you, was that you being Starstruck? A bit. Yeah?
Starting point is 01:02:12 A bit, yes. And I don't really get Star Trek, but I was. I could see that. Yeah. She is an icon. She's an icon. She would be good. She does love to.
Starting point is 01:02:22 banter and I feel like she has that like sense of humor. Speaking of Watch What Happens Live. In 2022, you had that Bethany, Andy, you watch what happens live situation. Infamous. Infamous, watch what happens live. And you said that you, you texted her after, right? Yeah, but this is a perfect example. And I've had this with people on my show. I've had people with the TV show. Bethany, I thought we had a good time. Like, we were a laughing, joking, even at the end of the night, in the green room, she was so gracious, lovely. She had these beautiful Christmas ornaments that I don't think she brought back from Europe or something. She gave me one for me and Monroe. I thought everything was good. I think she went home and
Starting point is 01:03:06 got in the comments. I absolutely because by the next morning, everything had flipped. And I wanted to get ahead of it quickly. So I called her and I said, hey, I am so sorry. Like we were having fun and joking. And I said to her, I go, we've been on, we've been on Watch What Happens Live together before. I thought if anyone I could banter with, it would be you. Yeah. I mean, she is sharp. Right. So, but I think she got in the comments. And I think that it somehow swayed her point of view. And but I got ahead of it and I, and I apologize profusely and I, I think we're good. You think you're good now. Yeah, I think we've been good since my apology. Okay. Amazing. I wanted to get your take on this. I don't know if you saw this. It's not Bravo-y,
Starting point is 01:03:50 But Pete Davidson, what's your thoughts on him? I don't, I mean, I know who he is. Okay. You're not, are you like into him? I'm not into him, but I'm not in. No, it's not on my radar. So he did this whole interview for variety. He talked about like Kim Kardashian.
Starting point is 01:04:05 He talked about a lot of stuff. One of the things he said, he was like, I'm disgusted. And this is the reason why I thought of you. I'm going to get there. He was like disgusted by influencers. He's like, I can't believe people are making money today from like talking into camera. and you could tell, and I never really care about this stuff, like I'm not about to get offended, right?
Starting point is 01:04:24 But you could tell that it was like, when somebody's like really hateful about it, like you could tell it wasn't just a comment of being like, ugh, it's so jealous. It was kind of jealousy. And then I thought about it and I was like, okay, he's such a big deal pop culturally, but probably he doesn't have the career that he would want exactly.
Starting point is 01:04:42 So he's a little, he's a little miss about it. And I thought about it because I was thinking how supportive you were, I heard you talk about Joey's like influencing and you were like, I hope he gets more followers and gets more grand deal. So you do want your chumps to get big. You kidding? I want for everyone's success. Everyone I like. Right. If I don't like you, I'm not going to even spend two seconds thinking about you or even trying to open a door for you. But I mean, if you're my friend or family or whatever and you're loyal to me trust me I'm loyal to you I'll open whatever door I can with Joey what was interesting is that you know crystal Minkoff is a good friend of mine
Starting point is 01:05:25 which is so strange how that friendship originated how did it originate do you know that I talked mad shit about her at BravoCon and I love I got to say she's balzy because this could have gone two ways she I guess she was on the red carpet and someone's like what do you think about the things that and I was joking like they're boring and I didn't realize Crystal was there until the third episode, you know, stuff like that. Harmless shit. But they had, did you hear what Jeff Lewis said about you, blah, blah, blah,
Starting point is 01:05:54 she's like, he's a cock sucker. And then all of a sudden, everyone's like, oh, my God, oh my God, you can't say that, whatever. And they came back to me and they wanted it to be a big thing. And you know what? I could have done it two ways too. I could have been a victim like, homophobic, blah, blah, blah. I'm like, she's not wrong and I love her for saying it.
Starting point is 01:06:15 And now all of a sudden, she was. on my radar. After she said that, I'm like, I got to talk to her. I got to be friends with her. And then I like courted her, pursued her, went through Tracy Tudor and Cynthia Bailey to get me drinks with her. And then we became friends. And we're good friends. And she's a chump. She's a chump. We're good friends. And the reason I'm telling you this is that she's a big influencer. But a lot of people is like, hey, do you know an older male, blah, blah, blah. And she's like Jeff Lewis. And that's what I tried to tell Joey. because Joey was getting very competitive
Starting point is 01:06:48 because he is a very successful influencer. But what Joey represents, the brands he represents are not the brands that are interested in me. He's hot, young, sexy. I'm like the shit I'm dealing with is like, you know, back pain. You know what I mean? It's a savvy skin, you know, like hair loss. Like it's completely a different word.
Starting point is 01:07:12 I'm not a threat to Joey at all. Is he competitive with the other chumps or with you? I think because he has been doing it the longest and he is the most successful at it, I think he has some sort of like claim to it. And I think when you do start, I believe there's enough for everybody. I think when you do start hoarding opportunities and cock blocking, I think you actually energetically hurt yourself. I think the universe stops rewarding you.
Starting point is 01:07:39 I am a very generous guy. I think it is one of the reasons why I'm successful. If you believe in God, the universe, whatever, I believe that I am well taken care of and I feel like a lucky guy because I do want, truly want for people's success unless I don't like you. But that's really good and you're right about energetically. And that's why I bring to you. Like I like you. That's why I said to you, maybe you should do, look, if I didn't care about you, I wouldn't even try to give you advice. But I just think maybe now's the time.
Starting point is 01:08:12 This thing's doing so. Well, now's the time to add another. Don't give your media ideas yet. Someone else is going to do it if you don't. I know. So I want you to be ahead of it. Okay. Well, I appreciate that.
Starting point is 01:08:24 That makes me feel really nice. You buy more jewelry. His eyes are on my jewelry, you guys. So funny. But it's so understated because I'm understated. No, you think those huge diamond earrings are understated? They're lab. I knew they were lab growing.
Starting point is 01:08:39 Fuck you. Well, I'll tell you why because they're so huge. Well, they're 2.5. But they're still lab grown that big is still expensive. By the way, I'm not anti-labgrown. Like here I am shouting it from the rooftops. My other stuff is in lab grown, but this was, and it was gifted. I mix things with my daughter, Labgrown with real.
Starting point is 01:08:57 You buy her diamonds. Oh, yeah. Oh, yeah? Well, listen, I got one kid who's a girl. I don't have a wife. I don't have anybody spend money on. So I spend money on her. But aren't you, like, do you, how do you make sure a nine-year-old can keep track of?
Starting point is 01:09:10 I can barely keep track of my shit. She's pretty good with her things. She is. Yeah. Oh, yeah. She's really good. Like, she takes inventory of her bags, all of that. I'm not, I don't, she's got a lot of bags.
Starting point is 01:09:21 But. A lot of bags? But chumps. Would you have a burkin? She's got her. Okay, but she's getting her first Kelly for, for Christmas. Does she know? And not the mini.
Starting point is 01:09:32 Because we're starting the collection. Because I'm not going to be around for, I'm not going to be around forever. How fucking luck is she? I'm not going to be around forever. Can you stop aging yourself? Sorry. No, this is. I wanted to have a nice.
Starting point is 01:09:42 I've noticed this. You're like, I don't understand why you keep doing that. I've recently been faced with my own mortality. Okay. I was supposed to get my appendix out this week, but I pushed it to next week. Don't you do that when there's like appendicitis? Yeah. Do you have it?
Starting point is 01:09:57 So here's the thing. Mild symptoms. We don't think it's going to burst today. You're good. So I'm not worried. But as soon as I get back, you're going to do it? I got to do the pre-op shit and then I got to do. And then also my heart.
Starting point is 01:10:10 I've got my heart. Well, you think it's a testosterone. Well, I'm an a fib. So they got a, I'm doing a cardio version where they shock it back into the rhythm. But that was scheduled for next week. But then guess what happened? They had to move it because I got to get my appendix out. Who comes with you to like get your heart chocked into place?
Starting point is 01:10:29 Shane asked to push the button because they electrocue you. There's a whole line of people. They're all like, I'll put, I'll do it, I'll do it. Wait, Shane is coming with? Yeah. That's sweet. Well, even today, like he goes, let me fix. your hair, you got a bunch of flyaways. I go, you realize you're going to be brushing my hair like
Starting point is 01:10:47 really soon and brushing my teeth. And he gets creeped out about it only because he knows it's true. I had my assistant. My closest thing to that is I'm claustrophobic as fuck. And I did a pro novo. Have you done that scan? That's how they found my a fib. Shut the fuck up. Was it a collab? Did you have to post about it? Yeah. No, I didn't post. I talked about on the radio. Okay. They've done it three times. Listen, I know people sometimes. hate on it because it is expensive, but they are helping people find. Wait, how does Pernovo find a heart thing? So they do the brain, they do the heart, they do everything now. So the first time I went, and this is crazy, I was having back pain and I went to see my orthopedist. And he's like,
Starting point is 01:11:33 I think it's muscular. Come back in about six weeks, but I was really uncomfortable. I'm like, muscular, okay, I've had it for a while. And then I did the pre-neuvo. They're like, you have a herniated disc. He said it was muscular. It was a muscular. I had a herniated disc. That was the first time. Second time I was cool. Third time, which I just did in July, they're like, your heart's not beating regularly.
Starting point is 01:11:53 It's like, it's really fast. They found that. Wow. I didn't even know. I didn't have any symptoms. Wow. I love pre-newvo. So I had her hold my toes.
Starting point is 01:12:05 But it's such a big comfortable machine. Did you watch TV? Babe, I did, but it's really not. Are you kidding me? What you watch? All the layers they put on you, the head gear. There's nothing more claustrophic. I had a good show every time.
Starting point is 01:12:19 No, you could put a good show. And by the way, I watched Wednesday. I could deal with it. So it wasn't like I was like, get me out of here. Like, and I didn't even take a Xanax. But I just needed to know like there was an outside world. I've had so many MRIs. Oh, this is, you don't understand.
Starting point is 01:12:35 That's like the, it's like a presidential suite of MRIs. It is so big and comfortable. And compared to a regular MRI. Is it finding, because I'm seeing like, Bachelorette contestants having brain, I'm like, is it finding things that we shouldn't be finding? All I can tell you is I've had some very positive experiences. A friend of mine, a friend of mine who thinks I'm a big idiot, right? He can't believe I make a living doing the shit.
Starting point is 01:13:00 And he's very, very successful. He called me. He's like, what do you think about this pre-newvo thing? I go, look, I think you should do it. You're my age. Use my discount code. Use my discount code. He saved $300.
Starting point is 01:13:11 I saved his life. Shut the fuck up. cancer they had they went in and it was a real it was actually a really tough operation but he made it through he's like he goes i can't believe i'd ever say this but you jeff lewis saved my life because i'm like one of the biggest goofballs in you know of his group and he's like i can't believe all people you you saved my life well pronova is going to love this and by the way i know their marketing team they're going to ask to clip it fine okay clip it away if we can save some lives thank you jeff for coming i took up too much of your time it's good to see you no it's fine
