Hello, everyone, and welcome to episode 139 of the N60 podcast, the official podcast of the N60 community.
This podcast recorded live every Thursday at 10 a.m. Pacific Standard Time.
And on the official N60 Twitch, it is available to stream on demand on Apple Podcasts, Google Podcasts, Spotify, and SoundCloud.
My name is Mike. And with me, as always, is Ivan. How are you doing, Ivan?
I'm doing good, Mike. Before I talk any further, I do want to apologize if listeners here are
a lot of background noise.
My little podcast studio is actually in a broom closet here at the office, and there's some
training going on right outside.
So you may hear some voices that are not me.
So sorry about that.
But anyway, I can't hear them because I have my headset on, so it doesn't bother me.
So I guess I don't really care if it bothers you.
But anyway, our special guest today has been on here multiple times.
I believe he was on the last podcast episode.
as well, the world famous Mr. Andy Johnston.
But for those that don't know who you are, Andy,
can you please introduce yourself,
let people know what you do, who you are, all that stuff?
Sure.
My name is Andy, and I'm the global PR manager here at NZXT,
and I get to launch all of our lovely, lovely product
to the universe globally.
It should change me to the universal global manager.
or universal PR manager.
Universal. Dang, that's a, that's a heck of a promotion.
Yeah, I mean, not everywhere in ZXD, I have my hands in it in the media.
True. All right. So for this specific podcast, we are launching some new monitors called the Canvas FHD monitors.
First, let me go ahead and show a quick video on it.
Rip to all the people that are not tweeted in live.
So we got some even more Mars now, which is very fun.
Do you want to go over a little bit of the specs, Abby?
Sure.
So a couple weeks ago, we launched our FHD monitors.
And for those who don't know what FHD means, it stands for full HD,
and that is also code for 1080P monitors.
Then what is special about our 1080P monitors
is that they have a 240 refresh rate
with a one millisecond response time
and this monitor is for people who are in
to competitive gaming.
So like first person shooters,
such as Overwatch 2 now,
Valorant, Apex Legends, Counterstrike Go,
or like League,
if we're other competitive games like
Rocket League and Leave the Legends to provide you with a very smooth overall experience
so you can perform better in your games.
Interesting.
Yeah.
So for those that don't know, we now have a bunch of monitors.
We have kind of two types of monitors.
So the first one we're talking about right now that just got release is a 25F and the 27F
has a bunch of awesome stuff on it.
One millisecond response time, like Andy said, ultra-thin bezels.
it's also compatible with cam, correct?
Any?
Yeah, so one of the cool things about our monitors is it has campatibility.
Which, yeah, I wanted to work that in.
The cool thing about it is the thing on, I sure everyone can agree on this.
The monitor, the little nub to change your monitor settings is literally,
one of the worst experiences of all time.
Like, you go in the back, you have to find the nub,
then when you push the nub, sometimes they're not responsive.
Then you, like, if you miss a menu, you can't find the back button,
then you have to, like, do all this random stuff.
But the cool thing is, if you plug in your monitor via the USB cable into your computer,
you can control a majority of those settings through cam without, you know,
fiddling around with that little nub.
And the cool thing is, using cam profile sync,
you can set monitor profiles per game in addition to other cam settings.
So for instance, let's say you have a specific brightness setting for Valorant.
And then you can set it to have that specific settings, contrast, blah, blah, blah, blah,
for specifically Valerant, and then it'll automatically switch to that.
Then once it's done, it'll revert back to the normal one.
Then you can have one for Overwatch 2.
Then also, this can apply to lighting as well and cooling fan curves.
So if you want your fans to go crazy while you're playing games or games
so you can get the lowest temps possible, you can do that.
Or you could just set it to silent mode if you want.
You know, that's the beauty of this.
The choice is yours.
Yeah, and you're totally right about that little nub being so annoying on monitors.
And even worse for me, if it's not the nub, it's like a row of buttons.
So like monitor I have right now in front of me, which shall go unnamed.
It's not an NCFC canvas monitor.
It has one, two, three, four, five.
It has six little lights, like on the bottom right corner with buttons behind him.
And I have no idea what any of them do until I actually click them.
So it's really annoying
I honestly do hate that
and I'm glad that our monitors are not like that
because it's, to me it is
the most annoying thing about
monitors.
Sorry, the second most annoying
thing about monitors to me is the ones that
you can't rotate vertically.
So that's the only thing I like about our
monitor stand is that
you know, it's very easy to just rotate
the monitor vertically.
Yeah, and it's pretty solid
too. Yeah, like
on other unnamed
competitors monitor stands that I've used
they're either
this weird tripod thing
that takes up a lot of room on your desk
but with the
one that we have it's flat
so it doesn't eat up that real estate
as much and you can still place things
on the base of it too
and it's very smooth to go up and down
or to go vertical.
Speaking of smooth, 240 hertz refresh rate, not bad.
If I still played Counterstrike and didn't have two babies to take care of,
this would probably be the monitor I get, to be honest.
Probably the 25 inch, because I always feel like the narrower my skill division is for FPS games,
of better. The other thing about these monitors too that we didn't mention yet is that they are
AMD Frecinct Premium certified and compatible with Nvidia Gync as well. So no matter what
graphics card you have, you could take advantage of those features. Yeah, I have a Canvas monitor
the 32Q and been using it for quite some time. And
And it, you know, I fake B-Sync on it all the time.
So, how dare you?
I know.
All right.
So you mentioned the 32-inch Q-HD.
Can you explain what the difference is between the canvas FHD and the canvas QHD?
So the QHD, that stands for quad-HD, and which is also code for 1440P, which to me is the sweet spot.
of gaming, because obviously it's higher resolution than 1080p, but 4K gaming is still a little bit
out of reach for most people. But 1440p is just a good sweet spot, I think. So our 1440P
monitor still has a very high refresh rate with 165. It has HDR 10. We forgot to mention that the Canvas
FHDA has HDR 400.
But I just wanted to mention that out.
And, yeah, also the other difference is
that we have a curved one for the 32-inch.
So the QHDs are bigger than the FHD
and the top of the line has a curve.
The other difference is the panels, correct?
Yeah, so everything but the QHD,
The 32Q is an IPS panel.
The 32 Q is a VA panel.
I know some people have issue with VA,
but the reason why is a VA for IPS,
and I think this is another thing we should talk about,
is pricing because there aren't many curved, large IPS panels
that you can get affordably.
And that's another thing.
I barely know.
Um, it's, it has to do with how the colors are, um, presented, if I'm not mistaken, correct?
Yeah, it has to do with the way the colors are displayed on the, uh, on the screen.
Mike could probably just Google it real quick.
Yeah, do a quick Google.
Give an actual technical, technical definition.
Here it is.
So the difference between VA or vertical alignment,
versus IPS is that VA has the things vertically aligned to allow light to pass,
and then IPS is more parallel.
So then basically it looks like VAs tend to have a more higher contrast versus IPS have a lower contrast and more wider viewer angles.
There you go, Andy.
People prefer IPS over VA.
Yes, because IPS tends to look.
look faster and quotes around look faster.
But in reality they're around the same.
As long as they have the same specs,
they're around the same performance.
While we're talking about panels,
Andy, can you explain why our monitors are actually sold
as panels only and then with the option
of adding a stand or an arm?
So here's something that is unique to us is
not necessarily unique to us,
but at least in our industry
being gaming monitors,
is you can choose the mounting system
that you want to go with.
So for instance,
if you want to buy a stand,
you can buy a stand for an additional price.
It's usually $50.
Or you could buy a monitor arm,
which is another $100 or $165,
depending if you want the single or a duel,
arm. But, and I think one thing every time I buy a monitor
comes with a stand, and if I already have a monitor arm,
that stand is just thrown away and kind of a waste. So we
give you the option just to buy the panel for a discount so you can use
your already existing mounting system. So you don't have to
rock the boat, so to speak. You just pop off your old panel
and pop in a new one.
Or you could just buy a panel here and buy a monitor arm
that from Amazon or Microsenter or New Egg
that tickles your fancy
more than ours if you choose.
And for me, the best part about us selling the monitors this way
is I do think we are being a little nicer to the environment
because someone like me, for example,
like I have two monitor arms on my desk.
I don't need another monitor arm.
So if I were to buy a monitor that it came with a stand or monitor arm,
I would just take it apart and probably throw that piece away.
And it's just like, you know, something that doesn't have to go into trash, basically.
I know in the great metal, plastic.
Yeah.
I know in the grand scheme of things, maybe it's not like going to fix the ozone layer or anything like that.
But it does feel good to do our little.
part, I guess, to make the
planet a little bit
better. Well, it's
it goes to
just reducing waste
and
like I said, when I
put my monitor onto the
dual arm that we sell,
like the stand is just totally wasted.
And it could have been avoided
if, you know,
if I just bought the panel
and not
how to deal with this huge hunk of metal and plastic
that's just going to go into a landfill essentially
and just, you know, rot for eternity.
I know a lot of people had some issues with us
because everyone's like, well, why doesn't include it?
But DSX hood also right here actually has a really good point
is that now you get to choose between having to stand included
in the price and having to buy an arm on top
or leaving it in the box.
which like I said there's there's more options for you to not have the stand than if we did include the stand like environment um mini here just says also as well it reduced the amount of random stuff in the corner uh I know for me specifically and I know some people here are uh kind of vulnerable to it is you'll keep everything no matter what because you think in your head you'll probably use it down the road and I have my
I have three monitors and I have three monitor stands in my closet that I don't use because I use physical monitor arms.
But in my head, I'm like, maybe I'll use it one day.
It kind of gets rid an option for you.
So it's just like I won't need it anymore.
Yeah, I think a lot of people that are into computers and video games are the same way.
Like, I recently had to get a storage space because my wife had enough of my hoarding.
Like, I had drawers and closet spaces.
space just full of boxes with like, you know, monitor parts, cables, controllers, old
GPUs, like old GPUs that I would never in a million years ever like use, computer
cases and things like that.
And it's just hoarding.
And now I'm hoarding them in a storage unit.
I'm actually paying out of store that stuff, which I got to get rid of somehow.
Parking and storage are the biggest scams on the planet.
Why parking?
I just hate paying for parking.
Storage is I don't think a scam though.
I think like me,
like I have a really small house, so I need it.
I don't want to see the scam.
But parking, yeah, like parking,
paying for parking, I do think is a little,
a little scummy.
Or it gets too ridiculous.
Like when you're in the middle of like downtown L.A.
The only place to park is a $50 lot and you're just going to be there for like 30 minutes.
Yeah.
Or like when you're like me,
you get a nutsberry farm and you pay $25 to park your car and then come out to find your
catalytic converter stolen.
Well, I went to Knott's Berry Farm post when you had your stolen.
that was a fear of mine.
I was wondering if my car.
Yeah, then I even went to security guard.
I'm like, what am I paying for?
You guys are here watching the parking lot.
You didn't see them steal my catalytic converters?
You had your camera?
He really had the converter stolen?
Yeah.
Yeah.
I was like, and I was only inside for like two hours.
I just went in there to get some funnel cake with my daughter and come on.
And yeah, my car sounded like a hot rod.
Fun times, fun times.
You had funnel cake, so.
That's what really matters.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Sorry, I'm just still, I'm just still shocked.
Someone stole your catalog converter, just straight off.
I didn't know that story.
I didn't know that part, no.
I knew you had cartels.
I didn't realize someone stole the actual part, right?
All right.
Speaking of which, oh, I also do want to show a quick picture that some of you guys may also
relate to it's having all these boxes here this is away again I think this right here is a
monitor right here or something like that but like I said having the monitor stand not
included helps keep this out of your closet that's what my closet look like honestly
that's what my closet looks like right now so speaking of which how have the reviews on the
monitor's been so far, Andy?
Pretty well, I would say.
Going into a new category,
it's very hard to establish yourself for many reasons.
However, I think both the FHD and the QHD did quite well.
Everyone liked it for the design.
One thing that is unique is we do have a white monitor.
they're not too many white monitors in the ether.
People did like, like we mentioned,
the choose-your-mounting system,
the way we approached it.
People liked it for its gaming performance
and picture quality
and also affordability as well.
And what do you personally like most
about our first set of monitors, Andy?
This stand, to be honest.
Like, the stand, some monitor stands that I've had
are a pain in the butt to, like, mount and assemble.
This was just super easy.
It just kind of, you put the base to the neck,
then snap it in, and you're good to go.
G2D, G2G.
And assuming that,
NZXT makes monitors in the future.
We don't know.
We never know.
I can't predict what's going to happen.
But if we do, what's features and specs do you want to see in those monitors?
I would love a 4K monitor that's high refresh rate.
I would love to see like a 4K, 144, and up monitor.
That could also be able to handle like the,
consoles in 4k.
What size?
I like 32.
Like 27, 32, and then
if we want to go bigger, then cool.
But I do like the 2732 range.
Once I get smaller, it's just like how, no.
I feel on it for me, I like a smaller monitor for some reason.
I don't know why, but I have a
27 inch right now and that feels really big to me.
I mean, I have 2.32s on our dual arms.
That's a lot.
It's great.
Like, I don't know.
Like, it's just, there's just a lot of space.
I'm, I'm a type of person who has a very unorganized desktop in terms of, like, icons.
Can confirm?
Yep.
And just windows.
So I just like having the space to be cluttered.
it's hard to be cluttered on like when I work on my MacBook it's very hard to be cluttered
but when I'm on my you know monitors it's it's it's great I can
see that makes sense because I'm the exact opposite of you I hate having like a messy
desktop I have everything like I don't even show my icons on my desktop
It triggers me.
On my, on my Mac, uh, Mac mini, Mac mini, I, it, my, uh, notifications are a mess.
Or sorry, icons are a mess because I'll have like random photos and press releases all jumbled in.
And it got, it's gotten to a point where I just made a folder to collect all my trash, essentially.
and just like shoved it in.
It's the equivalent of like taking all your,
you're like mess in the room and putting it under your bed.
That's essentially what I did with my icons.
Thank you.
You do thrive in chaos, Andy.
I know. I love chaos.
So apart from seeing that in our future monitors,
if we make them, what about just in general?
like what NZXT products
do you personally as the PR guy around here
want NZXT to make in the future?
I
So I think I've said this before
but
this is also related to a tweet that you did
a couple weeks ago
about graphics cards
I would love
to get
an actual NZT
graphics card
and
become an AIB for
either AMD, Intel, or
Nvidia, any of them.
Because I feel like we could
get a cool design
for the cooler,
maybe make it
incorporate the G12 into it,
have like the G12
pre-installed or have it come with
the
crack in.
Yeah, I'm surprised
that, like, that tweet got covered by the press.
I was just literally messing around.
It is one of those things.
It was an opportune moment because all the EVGA news.
And then there's an EVGA filled vacuum in the AIB space now,
at least for Nvidia GPU.
So it's just like, like, it was kind of like, why not us?
Yeah, well, that's, I mean, that's why I made the tweet.
because everyone on social media was talking about EVGA
not making Nvidia graphics cars anymore.
So I figured, well, it'd be funny if I tweeted that,
what if NDAXC made graphics cards?
Because I thought, yeah, people on social media
might, you know, might interact with it.
But I never once thought that there'd be like some news outlet
that would be like messaging you.
Like, can you confirm or deny that you were making graphics cards?
I think that was really random
I mean I get it
I mean
the reporter who
reached out was doing their job
and
no I get why they would do that
I guess I just underestimated
the power of social media
I've been on the good and bad
of the social media here
so
there's never bad Andy what are you talking about
it's always good
you're right you're right
having gotten in trouble in a long
time maybe we're due.
We're a long already.
Don't you dare say that.
It has been actually quiet on that front.
Yeah.
For quite some time, which is good.
That's intentional.
I mean, we're trying, you know, I'm not going to deny that we've made a lot of people
angry on social media before, but it's, it has never once been intentional.
That's the flip side of things.
The difference, though, now is, you know,
definitely a lot more careful because now, like I said earlier, like I guess I
underestimate it to the power of social media, which is true.
Like you never know how people are going to take things, how people are going to, you know,
twist your words or not understand what you're trying to say or let alone like who's
actually seeing these things.
So definitely trying to be more careful with that stuff.
So that explains why you haven't received much, much complaints.
I, and I'm a fan of that.
Don't rock the boat.
All right.
We have a bunch of community questions
here
from the
Twitch chat if you're watching live.
Mike, you want to start those off?
Yeah, so for those that are watching live,
please.
If you have any questions for us,
please write in chat
for to get through some of them.
We wrote a couple of them already.
From Alken 0303,
what is the best monitor for games
with overkill graphics like Microsoft
Flight Simulator?
In general or in
ZXT?
Do both, I guess, but let's see
that's like you right now. You would probably want the
QHD one, but if you have the graphics power
to do it, get a 4K one.
Because that game's all about
enjoying the visuals and
if you want the crispest
visuals, get a 4K.
But 1440P still looks
really good as well.
But that game is very hard to run.
So if you don't have the best of the best,
then maybe seek a lower resolution monitor.
But if you just want to go overkill, 4K.
Little pig boy asked.
Great name.
Wait a second.
Is that the Philly Stadium behind Andy?
Yeah, I'm in Philadelphia right now
because a lifelong is Phillies fan here to cheer my team.
Uh-huh.
Sure.
What is the main reason why you have it as your background right now, Andy?
I'm rooting for the Phillies to destroy the evil Padres.
Destroyed my beloved Dodgers, dreams and hopes.
At least you're not the Mariners.
No, the Mariners are sad.
Yeah, that was sad.
There's a whole channel, and there's just like 20-minute video.
I think there's this, it's called Sadman Baseball.
and he made a 20-minute video about how the Mariners make him depressed,
and he still loves them, but it's just like being a Mariners fan is a sad thing.
They almost left the city if it wasn't for, like, Ken Griffey Jr.
No.
And Nintendo, I believe, actually.
They've had two of the greatest baseball players of all time.
Maybe three, I can count Randy Johnson.
But Ken Griffey Jr. and Ichroo.
Not Edgar Martinez
Well, he's definitely in the top 100
For sure
Well, he's the best DH
True
And now they got Julio Rodriguez
Who might be the
You know, the next Griffey
But we'll see
They had Felix Hernandez
But he's not
Right enough sports talk
Michael has the next question
Before people start tuning out
For from John Sal 75
Would these monitors be good
For dual use
as a work monitor.
I work from home
so I want one work station
that can work and game on.
I use our 32
Q to work all the time.
I use it on a Mac
and a PC.
I mean,
it depends on what your work is,
but if you don't
have a ton of
creative workloads,
like video editing
and you need
like superior color accuracy,
I wouldn't get
our monitor, but as a normal, like, for normal person, the canvas, both the Q&F are perfect for it.
I mean, like I said, I've been using this since like March because I got an early sample in.
I think March, but I've been using it for a long time, and it's great for work.
I always equated as you can use a gaming monitor.
as a work monitor as well
but you can't
well you can but it's not going to be as good
you can't really use a work monitor as a gaming monitor
because a lot of work monitors will be relatively cheap
like there'll be like 6075 hertz at most
but if you did the other way
so if you have a 1440p 165 or 240 hertz monitor
you can definitely use that for work
yeah your documents will be super smooth
oh yeah rolling Google Docs
looks so good.
I also want to point out, though,
that it also depends on the games you're playing.
You know, if you're, you know,
playing, let's say,
Nintendo emulator games because you want to play
the games you've already purchased
at Nintendo on your PC,
then you're probably not going to notice a huge
difference.
You know, playing on a 60-hertz monitor
versus 240 hertz or whatever.
But let's say you want to play Valerant or Overwatch, things like that,
then you're definitely going to want to have like something with a high refresh rate.
What do you mean?
I can't like Zeevo says, you can't have Excel at 240 hertz.
Imagine.
Imagine.
All those cells and V lookups and.
Oh, those.
Those if functions are going to look so good.
I use count if all the time.
Count if X is in this cell.
All right, Janet Dotes asked,
what's the difference between Frecink and G sync?
It's basically the same adaptive sync technology.
It's just one's made by AMD and one that's made by NVIDIA.
It prevents screen tearing.
So if you are playing some games,
you'll notice like it looks like the screen's having an earthquake.
For lack of a better comparison, just like your plate tectonics are just like,
just kind of broken.
If you can tolerate that, cool, then you don't need adaptive stink.
But it just prevents, it just prevents that to have a nice smoother picture.
From God Death Wish, do these monitors come with PIP or PIP or PBRB?
support. And that's picture
and picture and picture by picture
for those. They do not.
From my understanding.
Yeah, and I think it's because
that requires
output from
two different sources at the same
time to go into one monitor.
So like I guess if you had
two graphics cards plugged into the same monitor
or something like that, right?
And like many
me Cuddle says, like, I also haven't seen
picture and picture in a
really long time.
I think one of my monitors had it
and I never used it.
Like, I could see a use case of, like,
like, if you
have your work stuff, if you have
like two computers or
a TV, and
you have, like, your work monitor
uh, you know,
doing your
exiles in 240 hertz.
And then, like,
watching a game or having like
something like Harstone in the back
like playing on the other thing
or like uh got a death which
says he wants or they want to use a laptop
and a desktop and the same monitor
and then that the I could
um then this monitor ain't for you
if you want to use them simultaneously
all right got another question from little pig boy
how stable is a dual
monitor arm, Andy?
I have two 32-inch
monitors
that are pretty beefy.
I haven't had an issue
with it.
It is pushing the limits of it,
but
I have no complaints.
We've seen that question
a few times on social media, too.
I think people have a right
to be concerned because the monitor arm
might currently have, which is not in ZXT,
like it's not flimsy, but it's like
pushing the limit for sure on my monitor.
Like I feel like if my monitor was
an inch bigger, it would probably
like be on the floor at this point.
But you said yeah, 232.
232.
I have one
I have one canvas and the other one
is
ASUS tough.
Nice.
DSXOT also has a good
idea or good point as well it's hard to judge stability to it depends on what you're mounting the
arm to you know if you're doing your 15 dollar ikea desk may not be as stable as like a hardwood
or um like physical like stable desk so as long as you're putting enough support behind it it should
work but please i have a a hundred dollar ikea desk it's just like the desktop the biggest one i could
get and five legs and I'm not concerned.
Okay.
Just judge based on your own best judgment.
If you live in an earthquake prone area, if it falls, I mean, you have more issues than that.
But I just shook my desk right now.
And it was...
Sweet.
My key lights moved more.
Let's see.
From Go Stylent?
Go Stylen.
Would these monitors be good for Cod?
Yeah.
I mean, I wouldn't see why not.
It's first-person shooter.
I haven't played Cod on them,
but I think it would be great.
They won't make you great at Cod, though, right?
Well, they would...
They'll put you in a position to be great.
It's on you to...
to gap the bridge.
You have the right gear.
It's just you need to have the skill.
No excuses.
All right.
Johnny Twin asks,
are these monitor stands universal?
You can use some universal
as in not proprietary
to NZXT.
Yes.
They're VASA mounts.
So any VASA compatible mount
you can use it with,
any monitor with.
Like I said, I have an NZXT Canvas 32
Q.
and some ASUS tough monitor that I mounted on it.
So if I wanted to use another monitor that's VASA compatible,
I'm sure it will work.
Actually, I can answer this one.
Johnny Twin asks, does this have HTML display ports?
Yes, most monitors will have HTML display ports,
but for these monitors specifically, they have two HDMI and one display port.
They're HTML2,0, not 2.1.
Yes.
Um, those, the reason is it doesn't really need it for this output that it has.
Um, I know PS5 now has 1440P support and I haven't tested that to see if it works on high refresh rate through HGMI 2.0.
But, um, you could use that now, um, with, you know, with a PS5.
but that is another question I could foresee,
and I know people have asked me why doesn't have H.DMI 2.1,
and that is the reason,
because it doesn't really need it due to its output.
It was a 4K monitor with a high refresh rate.
It should have HDMI 2.1.
All right, DB872040SX, great username.
They ask, something that we actually talked about during the podcast,
but they want to know if the monitors are all the same panel type.
No.
90 or 75% of them are.
So everything but the 32Q is IPS.
The 32Q is a VA panel.
Oh, actually, this question was already answered.
I'll move out to the next one.
From Am Ritton, Ritonch, 150 for gaming, what is better, glossy or math display?
I think it's on your preference, right?
Like, I've never used a glossy monitor, so I can't speak to it.
But I think that's just personal preference.
Right, and that looks like that includes the community questions.
So for this time, instead of me doing the rapid fire, I'm going to hand us off to Ivan
because I don't know anything about baseball and all these questions about baseball.
So Ivan, would you like to go ahead?
Yeah, we figure, you know, Andy's a big baseball nut as in my.
he recently jinxed the Dodgers into losing the in the first round of the playoffs,
so I figured I would ask him a bunch of baseball question.
So Andy, why did the Dodgers lose to the Padres?
Because the Padres were better.
Did you jinx the Dodgers by attending their first playoff game?
No, I didn't because they won when I was there.
So therefore, you should have crowdfunded me to go to all the games.
so I could cheer them and boo the Padres.
Are you missing a pet goose by chance?
No.
But the first rule of improv I should have said yes.
So yes and I love that goose.
All right.
Here's a serious question for you.
What do the Dodgers need to do next season to actually win the World Series?
For one, the playoffs are a crapshoot.
So as we see in the National League,
all the teams that were better than the Phillies and the Padres lost.
And, you know, like, it's just baseballs in playoff form is about dumb luck sometimes.
So I would say solidify the starting pitching staff.
a re-signed Trey Turner
and
go from there.
This is not a question, but
I kind of felt like
the Dodgers
they had nothing to play for
towards the end of the season.
Like they had already
basically got their
playoff spot, won the division, and
they kind of started taking it easy.
I felt like, so when it came time
to playoff baseball,
they had to play the team
that had to fight their way in there
and that was just like
super amped and
on fire basically
which was the Padres
and I don't know
it's the new format I think is stupid
to be honest
because like a team that won
111 games
lost to a team that had
89 games or something
like a 20 game
differential
and
yes the Padres earned their spot
and it's just
it's just weird because I think
the layoff also
kind of hurt
them. Yeah I think so too
but also in the American League
though the teams that
on paper should be
in the ALCS are in there
it's like the Astros and the Yankees
so I
I just think
it was just dumb luck
I don't like this format I hate
it. I like the other one
better. I don't like the expanded playoffs.
But
I know why they're doing it, but I still hate it.
You have my vote for
Commissioner of Baseball, Andy.
Rob Manfred sucks.
All right, Andy, who's going to win between the Padres and the Phillies?
I don't. I want
the Phillies to win.
I think
them.
I like how you say you don't know when you're wearing a Phillies jersey
and have the Philly Stadium right behind you.
I'm at this.
You do.
All right.
Who's going to win between the Yankees and Astros?
I hope the Yankees.
I don't want the Astros to win.
That would be a bad outcome.
I actually want the Astros to win because there's only,
I think, one player left in that team from that original 2017 season, right?
That was cut cheating.
The thing is, when it comes to baseball, I'm very punitive,
and if you've wronged me once, I'm never going to forgive you.
I just can't cheer for the Yankees, man.
I'm a lifelong Yankee hater.
I'd rather have the Yankees.
Like, to be honest, like, I would rather have the Yankees.
The Astros are just, they've lost a lot of,
they were cool before 2017.
I wanted them to win because they were a small,
I mean, Houston's the fourth largest city in America, or medium market, but I just don't, I don't know.
Like, I don't think that, I thought the Astros got off easy.
They did.
But you got to admit, though, it is pretty cool seeing Jose Altuve, who's what, like five foot, five inches tall, hitting monstrous home runs.
I don't know.
It is.
I used to like him.
I used to like him until 2017.
But, like, Yordaun Alvarez is a great player,
and I like that Justin Verlander's still good.
You mean former Dodger, Yordaun Alvarez?
Yep.
I think we got him for, like, Josh Reddick or something.
All right, last baseball question before people start boycotting the podcast here.
Andy, what are you going to do with your free time now that,
baseball season's coming to close.
I know you spend a lot of time
going to baseball games and you and your girlfriend
love going to Dodger Stadium, so what's the plan?
Live. Be happy.
So I could save my misery
until next year.
Correct answer was
get back to work, but okay.
Touch grass.
You keep on asking me to be on here, so
like, you know,
like, you're the one
preventing me for doing my work.
Technically, this is your work.
I mean, you're relating to the public, Andy,
public relations.
Fair, true.
You're relating information to the public about our newest products, right?
Yeah, that is true.
Yeah, like more purple blurful says, let's go touch some grass.
Never.
Never.
Grass hurts, outside hurts.
Yeah.
All right, Andy, thank you so much for
join us on the podcast before we get
into the announcement.
Do you have any party words for us
or the community before we wrap things up here?
Yeah, I actually do.
Randomly today in California
is the great shakeout.
It's like a day where a lot of
places,
it's a statewide earthquake drill.
And I don't feel like this is
widely known. So if you live on the west coast
of the United States, so Oregon,
in Washington or California,
there's this app called My Shake
that you can download,
and it serves as an earthquake
early warning system.
So an early warning system
for earthquake, it doesn't tell you, like, in three
days an earthquake can happen, because
that's not possible with current technology
or, really, to be honest.
However, it can tell you
like a minute before, or like 30
seconds before and give you a notification.
that an earthquake is coming so you can prepare.
And hopefully you won't need it,
but it may help you if you're in an earthquake-prone area,
save your life or people that you know,
and prepare yourself for some shaking.
And also psychologically too,
because earthquakes can be terrifying
if you don't know when they're coming.
So I guess to help,
Soothe your fears.
Download the My Shake app
Early Warning System.
Use promo code Andy.
Save 10%.
Save 10%.
It really helped me out.
I was like it. Andy, thank you.
I wasn't expecting that, but thanks.
Yeah, I downloaded it
and I just got the notification.
It says,
Oh.
This was a test.
But, but yeah.
Can we quickly just discuss what is that wallpaper on your phone?
Oh no.
So I have a bit with my friend where he just enjoys, he loves smelling his food or just getting like, you know, when you wear a nice cologne, he likes the smell of the cologne or whatever.
Okay.
And I troll him and every time we go out to eat, I ask him to like take a picture of him sniffing his food.
I got a wild story at Disneyland, but I don't, that's maybe for another time.
Yeah, we'll be on the next podcast you're on, Andy.
Hopefully sometime soon.
I have a feeling it will be soon.
Andy honestly is a third co-host at this point or second co-host at this point
You've had Andy on let me host anyone let me host I'm down to retire actually
I've been a hundred and thirty-nine episodes. I think I'm ready to get a good run
Yeah hundred what episode is this one thirty nine oh there you go I thought it's like
One of those things where it's like
Three hundred episodes and you've been on
No, I've missed maybe
Not much, but I've missed it.
When you're on leave or that's when the podcast was on leave.
Yeah.
Got it.
All righty, I guess we'll go over to announcements.

Yes, thank you for reminding me.
We literally just made that announcement.
The embargo was today.
Go ahead and post that link in chat
just so that people can see it.
The reviews have been interesting.
too. People are pairing them with
1490 GPUs
and the power draw on those
is ridiculous. Have you seen that?
I mean, I haven't
looked much at the reviews. I read one
that someone I know wrote
or skimmed it over a bit.
And
yeah, it's interesting
because on the PC front
it's going to more power hungry
but on that Apple front
Apple's focusing on efficiency more than
just raw performance
which is very interesting to see the two different approaches
and where it nets out
right
oh yeah

The monitor nub is is is the worst and the podres.
And the panres.
But on ours, our nub is not as bad.
It's a pleasant nub.
