Am I the Devil? Where Opie gets his nanny pregnant with twins. Our next Reddit poster from Special Presence. I'm Ryan. My wife is Lauren. And the woman involved is Megan. I already know how this is going to sound. I had an affair with our nanny. She got pregnant with twins. A DNA test confirmed their mind. I know how bad that looks, but there's more to this than that. Megan was our live-in nanny. She lived with us, took care of our children, and became someone I trusted more than my own wife. My marriage to Lauren had been bad for a long time. There were problems at home I don't want to put on the internet, but I didn't feel like Lauren cared for the kids the way she should have. I talked about divorce. There were also times when Lauren hit me and got physical during arguments. I'm not going to go into every incident, but that was part of what was happening in my marriage.
02:07 Megan was different. She took care of my kids. She knew their schedules, routines, what they liked and what they needed. I trusted her. I told her I wanted to leave Lauren. I told her I didn't trust Lauren. I told her I wanted a future with her. And yeah, I told her I wanted to have a child with her.
02:26 At the time, I genuinely believed I was going to leave my wife. I wasn't just saying those things to get her into bed. We had an actual relationship, and I cared about her. Then she got pregnant with twins. That's when everything became real. I asked for a paternity test because I wanted to know for certain. It eventually confirmed the twins were mine. Before that even happened, I told Megan, I didn't think I could be the father or partner she
02:54 expected me to be. I urged her to have an abortion. I'm not proud of that conversation, but I'm not going to lie about it either. I told her I didn't think I could handle having two babies in the middle of everything that was already happening. I was scared it could affect my career, and at the time, I was even worried I could get into serious legal trouble because of the circumstances. I'm a Christian and I have my own beliefs about abortion, but I knew I couldn't make that decision for her. I told her, ultimately, it was hurt to her. decision. She continued the pregnancy. At that point, I told her I wasn't going to be involved in raising the twins. I know how horrible that sounds, but I was honest with her. I didn't promise that I would
03:36 suddenly become a completely different person if she continued the pregnancy. I told her she needed to understand that I wasn't going to be involved. She believed I would eventually change my mind. I didn't. I don't want custody or overnights. I don't want to be involved in raising the twins, And I don't want a relationship with them. That doesn't mean I hate them. They're babies. None of this is their fault. I just don't want that relationship that's being expected of me.
04:04 If a court orders me to provide financial support, I'll deal with that. But I don't want to be forced into custody or visitation when I've made it clear that I don't want that. Megan and I were never physically abusive towards each other. We had disagreements and the situation was incredibly emotional. But she never hit me and I never hit her. The physical abuse I experienced was in my marriage with Lauren. I know someone's going to ask, Then why didn't you just leave?
04:32 Honestly, I don't have a good answer. There are kids involved, a house, finances, work, family, a million things that make leaving a marriage more complicated than saying you're going to do it. I kept thinking I'd figure it out. Then Megan got pregnant and everything blew up before I ever did. Now there are lawyers, courts, child support, family advocacy, accusations, and people who weren't there deciding what kind of person I am.
04:59 Megan says that I promised her a life together and then abandoned her. I understand why she feels betrayed. I did tell her I was going to leave. I told her I loved her. I told her I wanted a future with her and a child with her. Then reality hit, and I realized I didn't want that life anymore. That's probably the part that makes me look the worst, but it's the truth. I also don't think it's fair to act like Megan had no idea what she was getting involved in.
05:27 She knew that I was married. She knew I had children. She knew my marriage was complicated. She made choices too. Meanwhile, Lauren is still my home. Oh my God. Lauren is still my wife and she's pregnant again. That's the family I'm trying to focus on now. I know how hypocritical that sounds after everything I've done. But I don't want to spend the rest of my life fighting with Megan over two children I never wanted. I don't want custody. I don't want to pretend to be excited about fatherhood. I don't want a relationship with Megan. I want my wife and my family, and I want this entire situation to eventually be over. Maybe I'm selfish. Maybe I'm a hypocrite. Maybe I should have left my marriage before getting involved with anyone else. But I don't think the version
06:16 where I'm some calculated monster who intentionally got my nanny pregnant and then threw her away is accurate either. I made promises I ultimately didn't keep. I made choices I regrets. But I also told her where I stood once the pregnancy happened. The twins are biologically mine. I know that. I'll deal with whatever legal responsibilities come with that. But I don't want them in my life. And I don't think pretending otherwise would make anyone better off. The twins are almost a year old now. I haven't been involved and I don't want to be. So Reddit, I the butthole? Also for context, O.P. is military, and it's very possible that part of the reason why O.P. is so scared of being with the mistress is that you can actually get kicked out of the military for cheating
07:04 on your wife. I don't know how common it is, but I do know it's possible. O.P. is actually genuinely scum of the earth. Also, down in the comments, someone asks O.P. if he's paying for insurance for his family. And OP says, yes, I have to. Someone asks, is it expensive? And OP says, it's TRICARE, which if you don't know, is health care for active duty service members. So, good news to all the Americans out there. If you are an American citizen who pay taxes, you are paying to take care of this guy's affair babies. Our next Reddit post is from no establishment. Am I the butthole for lying to my wife about who I was having Christmas dinner with? So, I'm a 31-year-old guy, and my wife is 30. We were in a relationship for 17 years since we were
07:53 kids, and we have four kids, ages 1, 2, 4, and 5, all girls. Since my father died when I was 15, my father-in-law was always like a dad to me, so naturally, I'm very close with my in-laws. But my wife and her family always had a rocky relationship. To say the least, it's a long story. And eventually, they straight up disowned her, but I'm still very close with them. I usually don't get to see them much, so I decided that on one holiday a year, I would spend a few hours at their family get-together slash dinner. I told my wife I would go to her family for Christmas last year. Since her family disowning her absolutely destroyed my wife emotionally, learning that I plan on going to see them wasn't received well by her, especially since she was eight months
08:39 pregnant at the time, and her stress and sadness about me going led to an early birth of our youngest. Also, obviously, I couldn't make it to the Christmas dinner with them last year. This year, I didn't want to skip out on the Christmas dinner, but I didn't want to put my wife through the pain again, knowing that I would have Christmas with the family that disowned her. I ended up deciding that the best option would be lying to my wife and tell her that I'm going to my brother's house for Christmas dinner. But instead, go to my in-laws.
09:10 Of course, my plan worked perfectly, everyone was happy, and I had an awesome dinner with my in-law. Yesterday, I told my brother about the situation so I could avoid my wife telling him about the dinner, and him having no idea what she was talking about. To my surprise, my brother didn't take it well. He called me a butthole, liar, selfish, etc. And told me that I'm a terrible husband for lying to my wife. Obviously, I know lying is bad, but it was the only option I had where everyone would be happy. Am I the butthole?
09:44 This edit from O.P. You guys can stop commenting now. I made my verdict. I am not the butthole. But this subreddit seems to have a control issue, telling me to cut contact with the only father figure I have left. Screw off. Okay, this guy clearly just doesn't care about other people's opinions
10:05 or what's right or what's wrong. He just wants what he wants and he's going to do it no matter what and not feel bad about it. It's strange that he seems more interested in, maintaining a relationship with one random father figure that he sees once a year, versus his wife who gave birth to four, now five kids? Man, I feel bad for this woman. First her family betrays her, then her husband betrays her. Our next credit post is from R-slash legal advice.
10:33 A vet clinic is using tainted ketamine. A friend obtained vials of ketamine from a clinic, and I injected it. I've done ketamine before, and the disassociation feeling, was definitely not completely ketamine. It also made me very nauseous and caused me to non-stop vomit and faint for a day after I took it. I somehow convinced myself that maybe I was having a bad reaction because I drank a beer before. So I try it again. Oh my God. So I tried it again. And I had the same effect, but it was worse this time. My roommate saw me getting sick and took me to the hospital, and now I have mad hospital bills. This is probably a long shot. But, Can I sue the vet clinic or the distributor for having tainted ketamine? Okay, let's be super clear. This guy stole drugs, not just human drugs, but pet drugs,
11:26 injected it while mixing it with alcohol and then wants to sue the vet. Normally I'd be like, wow, how can someone be this stupid? But this is coming from a drug addict. So, I mean, kind of what you expect, right? Down in the comments. people are encouraging OP to sue. Yeah, you should do it, O.P. Give it a shot. What could possibly go wrong, right? Our next Reddit post is from deleted. My wife and I, both 30, have known each other for nine years and have been married for three.
11:57 We were best friends first, have no history of infidelity or substance abuse, and generally care about each other. However, external pressures like finances, planning a new house, and dividing responsibilities, combined with severe communication breakdowns, have pushed our marriage to the edge. During emotional fights, we exchange harsh words and silent treatment, and she frequently brings up divorce. The breaking point over the last five months, however, is a specific issue driving continuous conflict. Every night, I wake up and believe that I feel physical vibrations through the mattress and hear faint mechanical humming. It started months ago on a family trip, where I felt similar vibrations in a shared bid and assumed her sister, was using a discrete device.
12:45 Ever since, I've noticed this pattern at home and across different bits. A few weeks ago, I woke up, turned around, and saw what looked like my wife, enjoying herself, only for her to quickly lie down and pretend to sleep the moment she realized I was awake. To be clear, I have zero moral or sexual issue with her doing that. I've told her directly that she's fully entitled to her own body and pleasure. What is devastating to me is the perceived lying. She adamantly denies ever using a device at night. Because I can distinctly feel the sensations and hear clicks and vibrations,
13:23 her denials feel like gaslighting, which triggers intense anger and mistrust on my end. Here's where things stand. I've searched our room, the sheets, and even inspected her when she was awake, but have found no physical device. I've tried phone sensor apps to detect electromagnetic signals which yielded nothing. She denies having any toys, insists the vibrations could be household appliances, air conditioning, or physical sensations in my own body and legs, and has consented to me recording or testing anything just to put an end to the accusations. We saw a marriage counselor recently after my wife gave an ultimatum.
14:01 The counselor suggested sleeping separately to test the vibration theory. The night that we slept apart, I felt nothing. I'm caught in an exhausting loop. The more I try to confirm what I perceive, the more violated, defensive, and detached she feels. Trying to act like an investigator is destroying what remains of my trust and my mental well-being. How do I break the cycle? Down in the comments, we have a strange story from Lucky Six. Something similar happened to my brother and sister-in-law. He had woken up feeling like the bid was vibrating, but ignored it because he was like, if she wants to please herself, have fun. If she wants to have fun with me, she'd wake me up and he let it go. For almost a month it was happening, and his wife finally said, do you feel the
14:47 headboard vibrating at night? He was so shocked. They compared notes, and turns out they both had been feeling the bed frame vibrate constantly. Turns out, they had an infestation of some sort of African wood beetle inside the frame of their headboard. This story still freaks me out. Also, I wonder if what might be going on here is phantom vibration syndrome, which is a very, very common thing that people experience where you feel like your mobile phone is vibrating or ringing when it doesn't. So this is just a thing that happens with humans. So I think O.P. is having vibrator vibration syndrome effectively. Because if you hear vibrating and then you throw back the covers and nothing's there, then it's got to be in your head, right? That was our slash am I the devil.
