I know who you are. Okay, what are you talking about? I want to talk about how she bought her child, Blue Ivy, out to dance, to this Kendrick Lamar song. Okay. And the internet's praising her for it. This is going to be an interesting conversation that we're about to have, because I also have an opinion on this.

Save it for the school talent show. People are paying hundreds of dollars to see Beyonce live. They don't care. They don't care. You know what?

Jay-Z. Yeah. And we'd love to see Jay-Z. He knows. It's not his time. You make a very valid point, which is interesting because I was literally about to roast you to a pumpkin, but you make a very, very valid point. I thought you were going to be like, oh, she wasn't great.

Oh, too shay. You win this round. It's the Sean and Sof Show. Let's talk the Lil Murman. This is one of the biggest movies in the world. Haley Bailey, who stars as Ariel, just getting huge coverage for the adaptation of this movie. Before we proceed to chat in depth about this,

can I make a confession? I've never seen the original. The animated version. Never seen it. I don't know what the story is. I know there's a mermaid and there's a fish, there's a crab. You don't know the story at all? Okay, let's play.

Okay, before I get to what I was going to say about Haley, Let's do a quick Did it go this way? Did it go that way? I'm going to say a plot point And you have to say if that is in the little mermaid Or I just made it up on the spot as we go Amazing. Okay, let's play it, all right

So there's a mermaid She's in the ocean Yes You're going yes? Yes Okay She meets... No!

No, I think is it like H2O just they have water No, it's not, okay And she gets water spilt on it and then she turns into a mermaid, and she goes, Cleo. She starts as a mermaid. Okay, plot point is, so she meets a guy who's going fishing, and she accidentally gets caught in the net.

No. Is that what happens? What? It's what Finding Nemo was based off. Oh, so that's not the plot of The Little Mermaid. No, it is. That's why they did Finding Nemo. Really?

Yeah, so. That's not true. No, no, seriously. They're not even the same company. Okay, it doesn't matter. I'll watch the version with Haley's Haley. You believed it for a second, and that just makes me so happy. You thought she got fished out of the sea in a net.

Well, I did. It's believable. I haven't seen the movie. All right, what are we talking about? Okay, we're going to talk about it next, because now we've blown this out. I'm talking about this game. What is it that we're talking about? So in this remake version, because it's the real-life version,

but her best friends are a fish, a seagull and a crab. They had to do it with CGI, and she talks about how they, did that in the movie set. They couldn't train a fish? No. Idiots. Yeah, they're the idiots. It's the Sean and Soe show.

Talking about the small mermaid. Under the sea. Under the Sue. Little Fishwoman. Yes. Hallie Bailey starring as the new Ariel in the live action remake of The Little Mermaid. Now, live action movies

seem to be the trend at the moment. You know, we had Aladdin. We've had, uh, what else? Was it a Lion King? They kind of made like a CGI version of them? Yeah, that's really good. I didn't see the Aladdin one. And that didn't do very...

There was Blue Will Smith. Oh, yeah, that's right. But it is the trend where they're taking animated or cartoon movies and making them real life. Now, the problem with that is in a lot of animated movies, there are talking animals. And they're terrifying in real life. Yes. So this is what's happened with The Little Mermaid, is her best friends are a crab, a seagull and a fish. So they decided, let's do it with CGI, which is clever.

But the actors are actually real, and they're communicating to these little fish that technically aren't there. So Haley Bailey kind of discussed what was used in place while she was filming. It would either be nothing at all or a tennis ball or a very, very small version of the crab, Sebastian. Like sometimes it would only be like his eyeballs or flounder. Sometimes it would just be like his little nose. Yeah. And they would hold them in place and then be like, okay, they'd take him away. That would be very difficult because then they wouldn't be responding to you.

No. Acting's a hard job. Imagine sitting there and having like an emotional conversation about how you want to go to the land of people with feet and you're just staring at a tennis ball with googly eyes on it. And you're going, give me advice, flounder. And the tennis ball just stares back and then this voice gets put on over. Hopefully we see some like behind the scenes of the movie being made because that's like, I find it really interesting watching the Marvel behind the scenes.

And they just leap, it's Scarletor Hansen leaping around a green room. Yes, I love it so much. That is iconic. The movie out very soon Out now Out now You can go watch it Actually Sean's watched it several times

Oh my God, it actually does. It's this weird thing, hey, where I'm like, you're obviously so mega wealthy.

I wonder what your house is like, because it's something we will never retain. Like, I don't say that in a negative way. But her house is now on the market, Taylor Swift in Manhattan. Guess, like, ballpark figure, how much you think it is? What's the average house in New Zealand? Like a mill? Yeah. So I'm going to say Taylor Swift's house in Manhattan, 100 million.

Okay. Is that more? Is that too much more? when you hyval too much, and then it seems really like when it comes back around. 100 million's a lot of money. Okay. So it's sort of get, oh, 15 million. Very close, very close.

It is 18 million US, which is about 32 million New Zealand. Wow. Wow, that's big money, hey. And I now realize that my initial... It was very high. Yeah, 100 billion is quite unrealistic. Have a guess how many rooms. If you're the $32 million house in New Zealand money, how many rooms?

Oh, 12. Bedrooms? Yeah. Four. Is that not bizarre? I guess it's in New York, so it's like an apartment, right? It's like she's almost got the whole building, so it's over a lot of floors. Actually, I've got a link to the, I went and found the listing of it.

You can text House to 3343 and have a look, but she's got, there's an indoor pool, then there's a lot of small areas and, like, stairwells, and it goes up quite high. like, what would you do with that? And looking at what these celebrities do with their houses is really interesting. Well, I looked at it, honestly, and I know that this is funny because, like, here I am saying, I'll never achieve this, and I'm going, oh, 18 million. She's bloody boring. Like, she could have done so much better. I love that when you look at it. You're all bit cluttered.

This is the edge We talk about Harry Styles a lot. Now, he does talk a lot at his shows, which I think people love because they love him and they want to hear him, you know, he stops the songs and he talks for... What, it's personable? Like, it makes you feel like you've actually had a moment of that person.

I love Dua Leaper so much. I love her music. I went to her concert. She didn't say two words to the audience. At the end, she goes, thank you, New Zealand, I love you. And it's just like, is she British? She is British, yeah. Cool, cool, I'm good with that accent.

And I'm just like... Well, well, I feel like I didn't get a taste of do it as a person. I want to know her. Like, Lewis Capaldi is amazing at it. Harry Stiles is amazing at it. So I think you're treading on thin ice, buddy. No, it's a good point.

And you do want to get to know the artists a little bit and have them talk. But there's a limit. Like, Harry Stiles, this is the, this week, this video has gone viral on TikTok for him doing another gender reveal at his show. And it's like the fifth one he's done this month. Like, people just go to Harry Stiles shows to do gender reveals. And I've cut this audio down because it took so long. for him to do. Are you ready?

Okay. We'll be having... I forgot what it was. I remember. Oh, I see now. This just goes on for so long, where he goes like back and forth. Wait, I don't know what the baby is.

I'm going to get it. So he gets there in the end. But I actually... You know what? Sean, you're on a heater today. Really? You're really doing well, I also agree that that was a bit excessive.

I like the chat about, you know, him and the music and stuff, and it's a nice little segue. But I don't care if your baby is blue white, you know, whatever. You know. I mean to go like blue pink. I mean, it's not like, they don't reveal the ethnicity of the baby. They reveal the gender. What, ethnicity is blue?

I don't know. I don't care of your kids an avatar. Really, though? The whole gender reveal thing is so strong. stupid. Like, it's great for you and your partner. Amazing. Do it within the comfort of your own home. People on social media. 10,000 people at Harry Stiles concert. Don't care what kid of random couple is having. People have kids every day. fan of the show. We've got some real boomer opinions this morning. Hey, the Sean and So Show. The Radio Awards went down on Thursday night, which is a little bit of an industry kind of in-house thing. No one really cares about it. But it's like they celebrate all the best people in the industry. It's a fun excuse. to go and like hang out and meet all our friends from other stations that we don't usually see. You're right. No one particularly cares about it, but everyone cares about it now because one man in particular made quite the funny and it, I hate, sorry, I hate saying a funny.

Like you're, I think I've got it from you and you're like, oh, you've done a funny. I hate it so much and I hate that I just said it. Anyway, Sean Hill was DJing, which is our very honest. DJ Sean Hill. Who is DJ in the event? Which is me. That is that Sean. It's a very formal, fancy

event when they announced the awards and you were in charge of all the World Cup music when the recipients and winners walked onto the stage. Yeah, so they put me on stage and I was DJing. I've done this quite a few times and they asked me back this year and I was kind of, the first thing I thought was like I kind of don't want to do it because I've done it

and there are other DJs in the industry who can do it and I don't want to compare myself to Ricky Javius at the Golden Globes. Oh God. but you're about to but I will if you've ever seen that

every year he just takes the piss because every year his mentality is this is the last time I'm doing it I'll just have fun with it so I kind of thought that so we did a rehearsal earlier in the day and I was playing with the music

for people walking up to accept awards and everything and then what I did at the actual award ceremony which was like live and also like televised was that I changed all of the songs to things that I thought was funny I've never been more proud of you and to take the piss out of Mike Hosking

and you still exist be. It was iconic. It was the talk of the after party. Did you actually? Well, no. I got evils from the people who are running it, and I definitely don't know if I'll be invited back.

But hey, go out of the bag. And I'm so glad that you get to experience this, like we got to experience on the night. So Mike Hosking wins a lot of awards. He wins them every year. And firstly, I think the judging panel really needs to start thinking about other people because there are other people in the industry. Side note.

He won Broadcaster of the Year, which is the biggest award, the person always gets up. and says a big speech, it's a big moment. Yeah, it's a massive moment, and he tended to go up on stage and kind of act a bit, you know, like, well, he's very confident in himself. Yeah.

So as he's walking up with his wee swagger, Sean starts playing this. His face just was like, what is going on? It looks at Sean, walk on stage. Sean's just there, like, smiling away. Oh, we're screaming in the audience. Like, yeah, Sean.

Imagine getting, like, the most prestigious award of the year and move. from Ludacris is playing in the background. He gave me the e-balls. You really did not like that one. It was iconic. They said, don't punch down, so I punched up. Yeah, nice.

With Mike Hoski and all the rich old white dudes at ZB. It's the Sean and So Show. A lot of new music, though, dropping yesterday for new music Friday, which is one of our Fave Days of the Week because we get to, like, have a listen to all the new stuff. Sean, do you have a fave? Yeah, so a quick wrap up, eh, of our favorite songs. I like Tiesto's new track. It's classic Tiesto.

If I'm predicting which new song is going to be the biggest hit and you're going to hear the most of this one. I think this one will actually do really well. The beat gives me almost like nostalgic Carlead vibes. Yeah, I'll get a bit of like Camila Cabo. Yeah, oh, that's so good. My favorite, though, is a song from Dominic Fike who did this for the Spider-Man movie. You know, the new one.

This song is an absolute bang. It's called Mona Lisa. The Mona Lisa, I can hear your voice in the streets and the TV stations. And the police is. I can feel a strains on my wrist. I don't need these bracelets of all the things that she keeps in cages

Until I found you the hit song right now by Stephen Sanchez M. Byhole. It's absolutely stunning song. His voice live, by the way, one of the most beautiful. Oh, you're not joking. He is like the guy to see live. He's coming to New Zealand soon. Really? A lot of people have said like you have to see him live now.

Well, because I hear this song and his voice is amazing, but it's almost, it doesn't necessarily feel like it's got like that depth of some really big singers. So I'm like, oh, it's not like Louis Capaldi. But I watched a video of him live, and it's beautiful. It gave me goose bumbles. Sorry. Gave you goose bumbles? Oh, that's no good.

I meant to say bumps and goose pimples, and I just combined them. So they're now goose bumbles from now on. Just get that checked out. Yeah, he performed at Sophia Ritchie's wedding, which was arguably the wedding of the century. It was absolutely beautiful. Did you see stuff from it on TikTok? No, I'd know. What?

It was, honestly, better than the royal wedding. She had Blink 12 come together to perform in the after party. She had, like, so she or her husband surprised her by getting Stephen Sanchez to perform at the wedding and changed all the lyrics of the song so that it was her name. Check this up. Sophia, I'll never let you go again. Also, this is him live. How amazing? Wow, man.

Oh, I used to say I would never fall in love again until I follow to her. If you're waiting for more, Sophia, it was just the first one. No, I'm just enjoying it. Okay. Talking over it.

Sorry. We do love each other. We do. There's a photo to prove it on my Instagram. It's amazing that he's, um, that he's able to change the song live because I've talked to... Okay, so I'm not married, and I'm not going to get married anytime soon, but I do live with my long-term girlfriend, Jeannie, and I DJ a lot of weddings,

and I've noticed that this been a... Did you bring that up just because you said, I love you, and you're like, better clarify. I've got a girlfriend. I've got a point to get to her quickly. No, the go-to first dance song at a wedding used to be... Please your head to me. Ed Shearren, and it's recently changed to until I found you. And I told Jeannie that, and she said, yeah, but that can never be ours,

because her twins called Georgia, and the song starts with Georgia. Georgia. and her twins called Georgia. So she's like, you can never do it. You could get it changed after you have enough money or you're famous. Or if I'd get over my commitment issues and decide to get married.

Yeah, that too. The Sean and Sof Show. Cool jobs that you didn't know existed until you did. There's a Kiwi right now who's on tour with Beyonce. Who has no special skills? Well, they must do. I don't want to say that because I don't know them well enough.

But this job doesn't require any special skills, is what I'm saying. guess? Yeah. Are they on stage? No. Okay, so there's something behind the stage. Do they touch technical equipment? No, I don't think you're going to guess it.

They work in the merch tent. Oh, okay. Now, I thought... What's weird about that? Well, what I thought was when artists come to New Zealand that they have local people who just do merch for, like, Spark Arena or whatever. But it turns out the merch people tour with the artists. Wow, that's so fun.

So there's a Kiwi that I actually had on my show this week, who's currently on the Renaissance tour with Beyonce. She's from Auckland and she applied for the job online. And just she had a bit of retail experience? Yeah. Worked in Cotton On or whatever it was. How rude that you're like, she's got no special skills. She probably does.

And obviously to be good at retail does require special skills. But there's no qualification or anything you need to sell t-shirts at a Beyonce concert. Exactly. Any of us could do it and be touring with Beyonce. Do they get to go to the concert? Yes. She got to go like She gets off nights

She gets to go like once a week She gets to go and see Beyonce Second question Wouldn't you get sick of it? Yeah probably I would like the same songs Every night But I would love travelling to different places

Like you get to go all over the world with her Well that's my thing Like take an artist If you're obsessive About one particular celebrity Like someone who comes to mind Is Harry Stiles right People get obsessive about Harry Styles

And if you love him that much Imagine being able to tour with him stay in the same hotel with him. You get to know her. Like, she's met Beyonce a few times. What? You just, you're on tour together. You're on the planes together.

You just get to know each other. Sounds like fan fiction. You know, like I work at a Harry Styles gig. I sell hats. We go on love on tour together. He notices me one day and he's like, who's the hat girl? And then in Singapore, he's like, oh, the hat girl's still here. She must be part of the touring team.

And then we're over in Switzerland. You'd get fired so quick. So quickly. So quickly. I wouldn't last 24 hours with the man. Like, I'd be kicked out. I just thought that was interesting to keep an eye up for jobs if you are interested in traveling the world. It's the same with Rihanna's backup dancers.

That was just posted as a job opportunity. Obviously, they had the dance crew with Paris Gogol, but all the spear marshmallows that were like dancing on the roofs and stuff, they were all just online. What do you do? I'm a spear marshmallow. All right, man. It's the Sean and Sof Show. I love that song and I love doing something a little bit different to what they've done in the past. You'd know them from this big hit here.

They know how to make a song that puts you in a good mood. They've always got like, it feels summer. I don't know how, but they've bottled summer and they've sprinkled it all over their music. And I love it so much. They are over in Australia at the moment and they do this thing on their TikTok and Instagram where they ask people what covers they should be doing. And they post them. They are incredible.

This one was posted up not so long ago. and it's on repeat on my TikTok. I've watched it so many times because it's beautiful. It's a cover by Kaudre. You're here in a sec. You know the song. Wait to the chorus.

Wait to the chorus. That's really good. They also did an amazing Duolipa cover recently, which I saw. So good. A great follow on the Sochmed. Yeah, Cottery Band is killing the game on the social media. Good job, lads. This is the Sean and Sof show.

It is our last moment with you today. We usually go to our resident philosopher Sof for some words of encouragement and wisdom going into the rest of the weekend. Yes, stuff that I always prepare earlier. And definitely I'm not now looking on Instagram to get inspiration from. I love ending the show. with some words of wisdom and philosophy because for me it puts me in a really good space

that I'm still looking. Still looking. It'd be an amazing like therapist, eh? Because it would be like a lot of padding before you get to the actual like good stuff. Isn't there? No, I think I would be a good patient for therapy because that's when you just talk and talk and talk.

The therapist just goes, and how does that make you feel? Is that really what happens? Yes. Okay. Therapy's a great time, by the way. No, okay. This is my words of wisdom.

Thank you. We've got there. We've figured this out. All right. Can't wait for this. It can be very expensive. And I am aware that there are a lot of businesses that offer it for free. A lot of schools as well that they're trying to get,

Gumbert Friday, obviously trying to do free counseling. I'm going to say my words of advice is therapy is incredible. In a regard that you get to talk to someone who is removed from a situation about anything in life. So this weekend, If you've got anything in your heart and your mind that is just causing you a bit of a pickle jam and you just need a little bit of help and a little bit of love, I say open up and talk to someone about it because there is always, always someone who will listen. I guarantee it. You just got to, sometimes it just takes a little while to find. So if you haven't tried it, if you're scared about it, I went to therapy for like a year and a half, two years.

And it was the best thing I ever did for me. Really? Yeah. Really, really good to open up to people that weren't like direct. related to my life. So it's just a good time and I think it's important to be like to make it a conversation that you're really happy to be like, yeah, I'm not embarrassed or hiding it. It's a good thing for a human being. Lovely. That is actually a real wholesome. Thank you. Who knew that I actually had some wisdom hidden somewhere, eh?
