00:01 Hello and welcome to talking baseball. We got two powers in the AAL. That's it. A lot going on in the National League. First to worst in the NL Central. Let's talk ball. What are I going to be? Andrez Munoz.
00:20 Billy Butler, base hit to center. Keeps the inning alive. Hello and welcome. Hello and welcome. Tock and welcome to Talkin' Baseball Pinch Run. Talking Baseball is presented by Fanatics Markets. We're fans trade on sports, fanatics markets available now on the app stores. I'm Jake Storelli.
00:40 That is Trevor Plouffe. Rob Chiraco, producing Daltz assembled a sheet. And we are added. It is May 8th. Wow. Happy 8th Day Mayo to everyone that celebrates. Mother's Day, Sunday. Get it together, people.
00:56 This is your last call of last call, basically. Coach Trev, you made a face that looks like you don't have a gift secured yet. I do. I'm working on something else. First of all, Billy Butler, a 290 hitter. Yeah. Back when hitters were hitters. He was aiming for the gaps.
01:16 Yeah. And then, like, could barely get the second base when he hit the ball. These modern hitting coaches would have had him trying to pull the ball like Isok Paredes, and who knows if it would have worked or not. If you had to guess what Billy's, Billy Butler's middle name is, what do you think it is? Billy Baseball Butler. Close. Billy Ray.
01:36 Oh, Billy Ray Butler. That's incredible. As far as Mother's Day, I do have a gift secured. By the way, like when, this is a little life advice.
01:47 When you first start a relationship, make sure you start really small with the gifts, because they just progressively, you get bigger. Yeah. Because you're just trying, oh, well,
01:54 I have to one up myself. It's like... Hard to go backwards. I'm like 17 years into my relationship right now. So every time I get a gift, it's... It's substantial. I am doing a video. I decided to do that. I got Teddy and Ila actually back out here. Nice. He doesn't watch our show. Let's go. Yeah, I was going to say, hopefully Olivia doesn't tune into this episode. She doesn't. So, no offense to our show. So I'm doing that. I'm an edit it myself, which is, that's the fix. I'm using AI. I have no shame in that. Nice. Nice. Nice. I've got to. I've got to. I've got a. I got a. I got a. I got a. I got a.
02:34 Before we get into the baseball, because nobody's here for the baseball. We know what you guys like. You want the life advice. I went to, I decided yesterday. I was sick of, I didn't want to watch anything. I put on playoff hockey, but I wasn't into it. And I was like, I kind of want to start messing around with some AI pictures and just messing around with pictures of buddies and stuff.
03:00 And then I went to download something. And I was a little nervous. I'm just not great with technology. It's just not natural for me. Went to download it, put in the wrong email, quit. Yeah. I typed instead of the E that ends my last name, I hit the S button, and I was like, it's done.
03:24 They were like, oh, confirm your email. I was like, I can't. You and AI, like linking up together, maybe needs to wait a little bit, yeah. We're going to find our sweet spot, and when that happens, it's going to be delightful. But yeah, we're easing our way in.
03:37 I mean, Jim is leading the way. I mean, he might be advising the commission. Let's talk baseball. It's Friday. Which means we're going to start out with a mopping in the National League, and it's the Chicago Cubbies against the formerly first place Cincinnati Red. Do not go into Wrigley, folks. Because the Cubbies have won 15 in a row at Wrigley Field.
04:10 There's two walk-offs both by Michael Bush. PCA with the Clutch Homer. Everyone's Michael Conforto getting in the act. It's a fun time to hear the song. Go Cubs Go, because it's one of the best songs in sports. Reds, feeling it. We thought there was going to be a little bit of regression. We didn't think it was going to come like this.
04:33 Cubbies sweep four games. The Dodgers face the Houston Astros, the Kyle Tucker, Homecoming. How do you like that? And he showed up in that first game with two hits, including a homer. Houston got pitching in the second game, which means they won. Peter Lambert outpitched Shohei Otani. He'll tell his grandchildren about that. Sadly, the news out of this story, not Andy Pa has his three-homer game.
05:00 Glassnow injury and Kare. injury. Woof. Hate that. Dodgers take two out of three. The pirates take two out of three, and they're plundering on the road this year. Watch out for the road pirates, and watch out for Paul Skeens, man. Maybe his best star to the season.
05:18 He retired the first 14 batters. Two hits in that inning, and it was it. He was nasty. They win a one-nothing game, and they win a four-to-two final game to win the series. man, Mitch Keller, quality start. These pirates, Rhino Hearn. He's kind of a guy guy. They take two out of three.
05:40 Padres take two out of three from our San Francisco Giants. Just when we think the train's going to get out of the station, they end their losing streak. Rafael Devers hits a homer for the first time in a month. They end up losing. Sung-moon Song! Nice to meet you, friend. Welcome to the show.
05:59 He's hitting. Miguel, Anduhar keeps hitting. And in that final game, Thai France, Trev's guy breaks up the tie with a triple, a little defense-induced triple, but that's none of their business. San Diego takes a series. Phillies are the Phillies back. They take two out of three from the athletics.
06:21 At one point, when they win those first two games, I think they were eight in one under new manager. Dom Mattingly, they lose the final game of the set. A's bullpen blows that second game, and they've blown a lot of leads for the athletics. Where would they be in the standings? Otherwise, Shea Bang Lears is still out of his mind. And Bryce Harper, people are saying he might be elite, just not his GM. Brewers and Cardinals end up splitting two because we get a rainout, postpone game.
06:50 They'll play five in July. Let me know where we are for that one. Jackson Churio comes back. Andrew Vaughn comes back. Maybe that's the bigger news for the brewers. And the Cardinals, just where they are in the standings is kind of mind-bottling. The Mets take two out of three. That should be good news, right?
07:10 It is. Unfortunately, the final game of the series against the Colorado Rockies ends with a little bit of controversy, a check swing into a grand salami, has the Mets losing that final game. Jake McCarthy, nice name, leaves the Mets feeling a little sour, and the Rockies get their one win on the homestand. Woof. And the final National League series, we will talk about.
07:37 The Baltimore Orioles take two out of three from the Marlins. This was fun baseball. The Orioles take the first two games, Adley, with the big pinch hit, go ahead. Shot. It was a hit. It wasn't a shot, I guess. Pete Alonzo, three-run Homer, a lot of sliders to him this series. Here's the update.
07:55 Liam Hicks is a guy guy. Man, and Joe Mack with the game winner. kind of Kobe Mayo with the bobble. That was tough to watch. Otherwise, the birds take two out of three. That's what happened in the nationally. Great job. I had something I was about to say,
08:14 but instead I'll just give you the standing because that's what the people want anyway. You just read the NL. You know what? Let's mix it up today. Let's start out west. Okay. We're the Dodgers.
08:25 I'm wearing a Dodger hat today. Deal with it, people. This is my Rams hat. Oh, is it say undefeated? Yeah. Nice. I mean, it's a Dodger hat. It's a Dodger hat.
08:37 Yeah. I'm all L.A. today. I'm feeling it out here. Anyways, they're in first place. 23 and 14 for them. They're one game above the Padres, 22 and 15 for them. The only two teams over 500 in that division.
08:52 The Your snakes, Dalt Snakes, Taylor Jackson snakes, 17 and 19. Kelsey Wingerts, Rocks, formerly Your Rocks, 15 and 23. and then the San Francisco Giants. Bottom of the barrel? Yeah, man. There's more weird quotes from Tony Vitello. I'm trying people.
09:11 14 and 23 for them. In the Central, the Cubs, a three and a half game lead over the Cardinals, as you mentioned. 26 and 12 for the Cubs, 22 and 15 for the Cardinals, 21 and 17 for the Pirates, and then Milwaukee, 19 and 16,
09:27 they're fine, and Cincinnati goes from first to worst. over this calendar week. There's still two games over 500 at 20 and 18. And then out east, Atlanta, 26 and 12. They have an eight game lead right now. The only team over 500. The National is 18 and 20.
09:46 Miami, 17 and 21. Philadelphia coming, though. 17 and 21. And the Mets not on their way, 14 and 23 for them. Those are the standings in the National League. Nobody better. Nobody better, coach.
10:02 Yeah, I was doing, I don't know, Jakey baseball brain. I was looking at the standings to see what teams have matching records. The Braves and the Cubs have the exact same record, 26 and 12. And you might assume that they've been two of the best teams in ball. Yankees also. I was laughing the Yankees also. The Mariners and Tigers are both 18 and 20. Same record as the Washington Nationals, which is just like, okay, that's a funny scope.
10:29 And then the Padres, who we gave a ton of love to earlier in the year, same exact record as the St. Louis Dirty Birds, which we keep kind of just keeping that on our blind side a little bit because it's like, well, this is, something's going to happen. I don't know. It's not happening. And they keep winning baseball games. They do.
10:51 A lot of people mad at our all-JM team that came out, that Jordan Walker wasn't on there. I spent all night just defending. telling people we did the stats through May. And yes, five games can make a big difference early on in the season. Analytics only. Anyways. Today's episode is sponsored by Amazon.

11:52 Go Cubs go. Trev. Go Cubs go. Hey, Chicago. What do you say? The Reds just got mopped. Today. Four game sweep. And again, this series could be very different if the Reds bullpen performed a little differently,
12:08 which had been kind of part of their back end was pretty strong with Santion and Pagan. Okay, that's fun to start the year. They've run into a funk and some injuries. And these Cubs at Wrigley, bro, there's a few fan bases that have the feeling of something in the air this season, and the Cubbies are one of them. Yeah, there's a bunch of stats that are pointing in the right direction for the Cubs. You mentioned the record at home. They're just on an absolute heater, getting contributions from up and down the lineup,
12:40 you know, PCA at the bottom, Conforto pinch hitting and then, you know, finding his way into the lineup. It's just it's relentless for them right now because they're kind of doing it in all facets. And we've been talking about the Cubs all year because they've basically been good all year. This is more of just an absolutely... nightmare for the Reds. You come in, your offense is struggling still.
13:04 The two most frustrating things you can have for your team is when an offense isn't performing, and then when the bullpen is blowing games. And both things happened in this series. I mean, just as bad as it gets for the Reds, you get walked off three times on top of that. Like,
13:21 everything that could go wrong essentially went wrong. You could point to a bunch of different things. Rob, I had the one play that I wanted to really highlight in this game is from the last one when you have a nice defensive play. But even there, you start to struggle. Key Brian Hayes, tags third base, throws to Tyler Stevenson, who is stoked on it until he realizes, oh, the force is not there anymore because he tagged the base. And this is something that it's actually brought me back because I would do this all the time.
13:56 and specifically I remember Kurt Suzuki and if it'd be bases loaded I would I'd say I'd get his attention and I would go like Kurt like backhand tag and he'd be like I know dude like I got it
14:13 but I would do it every time because you just have I'm telling myself that right like if I go to my to my backhand there's a chance I want to tag the base and then also prevent that run from scoring so I would tell myself that and Kurt would just be like dude I'm like a season vet.
14:28 I'm fine. Now a manager of the Angels. Great. That's just a tough play. Like all the things going wrong. You can't have lapses like that against the Cubs and especially not right now. Yeah. And excuse me, three straight walkoffs.
14:41 Insane. And yeah, that one's tough. And you see Ian Hap, who's just playing out the play. Like he's, he didn't know Ki-Bryon stepped on the bag. He's just running it out, slides home and finds out he's safe. That's a tough one for Stevenson. You kind of get what happened, but you kind of don't.
14:57 Like, you know, in a big... Oh, you can't. You can't. I can't. I can't what happened, but I don't. One in doubt tag. Yeah, I like that. I think that's a great note.
15:10 Sal Stewart in a rough spot. He's run into his kind of first funk in the season. I think it's a two for 28. I'm going to talk a little more Cubs in a little bit. I do love the Terry Francona. Actually, I'm actually glad we play tomorrow. I'd hate to sit at home for a whole day and pout. I'm glad we're playing.
15:28 Yeah, man. That's the beauty of this sport. And it's also scary. Oh, yeah. Well, you got to make it turn somehow. And right now, nobody's stopping the Cubs and the Reds, whether it was bullpen or whether it was offense or run differential, whatever you believe in. There was going to be another shoe to drop at some point.
15:49 It's just how quickly can you make it stop? They've got three with Houston this weekend. Cubbies, you got more coming. lot more coming this season, man. They are fun. Conforto looks so comfortable. I know that's like obnoxious to say, but think about where he's been from, you know, he used to, it was him and Judge getting compared and then injuries and the shows up on the Dodgers and we're like, oh, here we go. And then it kind of wasn't his year that just, it feels like a room full of a professionals, man. And they are. And he feels very comfortable in Chicago.
16:22 because I think they just, they've changed the standard, everyone in that building in a big way. Yeah, I, you know, I think Breggman's a big part of that. Like I just think about him and Ian Hap just kind of pointing the team in the right direction. You mentioned the word professional. Those guys are two of the best in the game at how they approach it and mentally and the will to win. I think they realize kind of where they're at,
16:51 both of them in their careers and the Cubs roster where they're at in the moment. And it is like we're all pulling in the same direction. It's beautiful. This note right here is, this is, when you're on a heater, this is a big part of it. The Cubs bench is posting a 1.068 OPS
17:10 and pinch hit situations this season. Not bad. Yeah. That'll get it done. If you're pinch hitting for the Cubs, you turn into Yordon Alvarez. That's pretty nice. Let's circle.
17:25 Yeah, there's some injuries. We'll circle back on that later. Dodgers take two out of three. It is a little dodgery that you've got your L.A. hat on today. That they are keeping pace with the best teams in baseball. But I do think the story is Glass Now. Gets a thousand strikeout. Also leaves with a lower back thing.
17:46 That injuries have unfortunately been a big part of his career. Shohei was in a slump. coming into this series. But yeah, man, I don't know. A, the Astros are still in a bad way. If they get pitching, they win, look at game two. But yeah, I mean, the rest of the box scores, Kyle Tucker, Will Smith, Freddie Freeman, Andy Pa has three homer game. Usual cast of suspects. I mean, I mean, every, you can point to anybody in the lineup. I'm like, oh, yeah, he's providing some sort of spark for that offense. Andy Paas is my, one of my favorite players in the game right now.
18:18 fortunately for the Dodgers I think Glassdown is fine he just said he had back spasms and it's just part of being tall which is a subtle flex for him I think I think he's going to be fine I don't even think he's supposed to miss a start so that'll be that'll be good
18:32 McCullors I believe came out also after the game with like a nail thing but he had three wild pitches to give up runs in this game which are on changeups away and just I don't even know how you do that they moved a lot
18:48 So I guess that's good. That's good. That's what you want. But changeups to left-hand-hender hitters in the right-handed batters box that you couldn't corral as tough. And then I believe it was on the second one. First one, he doesn't cover home plate. Second one, he goes into cover home and falls and gets slid into. And it's just like, what's the saying there?
19:09 Like insult to injury or injury to insult? One of those two. You nailed it. Nailed it. Are we watching them right here? Okay. That's the one he watched. And that's just a tough pitch.
19:24 Yeah. It's called a wild pitch, but at the same time, I feel like you can corral that back there, or maybe not. Watch this one. He's like, okay, I'm going to get it. That's just a tough look for a pitcher.
19:35 I don't want to say the most dangerous play in baseball, but a runner coming full tilt and a pitcher covering home is just a recipe for disaster. They have no idea what to do. Here's my advice to pitch. And it is a tough ask, dude. Like, kind of jog in to not a base and make a tag. Like, well, you're embarrassed.
19:57 And you're having a bad time. You're frustrated, number one. But they all go in too high. I always tell my youth team, expect a bad throw. Like, no matter what, at any given time, every single time you go to catch a ball, expect a bad throw. That was athletic by McCullors. It wasn't bad. But the sliding on the turtle shell.
20:18 that looks like a breakdancing moves kind of that's kind of cool I'm not knocking that I might have been seen doing that in parts of Connecticut in 2010 yeah Astros Astro's just kind of like down bad right now it's
20:35 you know we always say like they're inevitable and the window that's a windowless house and they're going to do this I don't I don't know I don't have that feeling anymore Jake they have their type for the worst run differential in the AL, and I guess glass half full, the Angels and Astros have the worst record in the American League. And it's obviously May, but this is the point.
21:02 They're both three games out of the AL wild card right now. So I realize it's not exactly how it works, but it could be. It could be. But they need pitch every time I see them get six or seven innings, one earn run, they win that game because their offense is pretty good, although they lose Correa, man, which that was, I don't know, dude, I think there's been times on this show where we've called out the doctors or trainers, whether it was Correa's big contract or, I don't know, the one that got me mad was they saying Alonzo wasn't going to age well, which it's like, I don't, who's saying that? He's already, he already is aged, which is already aging for Alonzo.
21:44 We all are. That's pretty brutal. And Correa was off to such a good start to the year, too, man. It's tough. I do root for him. And I think I've expressed that over the last couple of years, just being able to see him in the clubhouse. I think he's good.
22:01 I think he's one of the guys that I'd want to help lead my team. And I don't like seeing him go through that. Shohay Otani's amazing. The ERA sits at 097 this season. All J.M pitcher of the month. As he's made it, his, He's like, my goal this year, I'm going to win the Cy Young, if y'all don't mind. He did say that or something like that, didn't he?
22:24 Yeah, there's a fun, we're doing talking Yanks. And Judge, you know, Judge is leading in homers. He didn't have a lot of, you know, normally Judge is a great, like, batting title. He hits singles and doubles, but it's very much a lot of Homer swing early this year that he was like, he was wondering if Judge came out and said, my goal this year is to break the home run record. how would people respond to that?
22:49 Because I don't know, it's kind of similar to Shohei being like, my goal this year, Sai Young. And I don't know, but if a hitter came out and said that, you'd be like, you're out of your mind.
22:58 I guess it's just being the best pitcher towards compared to an all-time record, but I don't know, a funny thing to think about. Judge is not taking the chance of saying that and getting scrutinized by the media. Can't say that. Exactly.
23:11 That's what we're saying. I think, well, Jess Chisholm said he's going 50-50. I think it's just personnel here. Yeah, and he got screwinized for that, but it's also, what do you want the player to say? I love to go, I love to go 21 and 21 this year. I have no problem with him saying that. Why don't we keep showing now too bad?
23:29 Just getting mowed down. Christian Walker still owns the Dodgers. That's kind of cool. And Andy Paz hit the Dodgers' first three homer game since Max Muncie, about less than a month. I was going to say it just happened. Yeah. That's, and that's why we talk. about them like that.
23:49 Pirates. The road pirates, Trev. They get eroded, which that hasn't happened a lot in Snake's culture or just out of their starting pitching staff in general. But Connor Griffin is here. He is still 20-year-old Connor Griffin is a problem. Skeens with one of his most dominant outings. I got to watch a lot of that one, and it was very much, hey, if you want to put something
24:15 in play early, not going to. yourself out. Like, I'm going to keep this pitch count going so I can have some length. That was cool to say. Brandon Lau, when he's on a field, he is an absolute problem. And these pirates, man, they, what was it? They record their 10th road win on May 7th. That didn't happen until June 10th of last year. And they've won four consecutive road series against NL teams for the first time since 2015. I love the pitching matchup in game one here. E. Rod, versus Bubba Chandler, like just completely different styles, people, age, result also.
24:54 Wow. Baba Chandler, for, you know, all the stuff he has and how good he can be, I mean, you can't have a 17% walk percentage, my guy. Well, I like learn, you got to learn to live with, like, your stuff can play in zone. I don't know if it's a thing for him where he is afraid to go in zone or just really can't control. Do you know what I mean? Yeah. I feel like it takes a while for guys, especially young pitchers, to
25:24 really have faith in their stuff in zone at the Major League level. But he's got a guy that could help him. Paul Scheen's telling what to do, Pa. But Erod, great job there. It's always good to see. And he's and they needed that. The Diamondbacks
25:40 have not been pitching well. It's their first quality start since April 17th Arod got right there. End up winning that one. You mentioned Brandon Lowe, gets the pirates ahead, won nothing in both of those next two games. Skeens was phenomenal, had a chance for the complete game. Dalton, I did that on baseball today yesterday because there's a, oh, this is another time. I'm just shouting out Jeff Passon a lot. When he had Scoobel and Skeens on together,
26:10 they talked about, or they asked him about complete games, and Paul Skeins gets said, I have one. it was only eight innings and we lost one nothing and Scoobble just cracks up laughing at him but he had a chance to do it here they end up going to Gregory Soto in the ninth and I don't really have a problem with it and I don't know if Skeens does really either
26:34 but eventually I'd like to see this guy throw like a shuddy complete game he seems like the kind of guy that will do it a lot in his career I think we'll be there I don't know I think baseball fans were we're dreaming a little bit that when I flipped on Skeens versus the snakes and I saw how good he looked and he hadn't given up a hit. I was like, what if? I don't know. And then infield single and then he gives up a real hit from the stretch because pitchers can't adjust initially. And then he basically goes
27:02 into perfect game mode again after that. Yeah. And that's where I wanted to give a mini shout out, Pirates bullpen in this series. They got a couple lefties, a couple righties back there, Montgomery, Mattson, Santana, Soto, along with some others. But I don't know, like, A, seeing a lot of Pirates games in the past seven years and seeing a lot of Diamondbacks games in the past seven years, games two and three traditionally would flip. Like one nothing late in Arizona, that game turns to three to five. The same with that last game.
27:39 Four to two, the bullpen holds for the pirates. And that's, as you go around these games, even the Cincinnati series, we still. started with. That'll change that'll change your week real quick. I've said this before about the pirates. I am rooting for them big time. Like I really want them to be successful. I want them in the playoffs. I want Connor Griffin to be everything that we think he can be. I'm also extremely terrified of the social media clips that will be out there of my earmouse, my dumbass saying stuff about Paul Skeen's not pitching in the playoffs for the pirates. Oh, well.
28:16 Yeah, it'll be there. Good news, and coach, I don't, again, I know I'm kind of stomping on your business right now. I looked, today was the first day I looked at the quote-unquote playoff standings because I was like, what does it look like? The Pirates are the last team in right now, a half game up on the Brewers. The ALs so ugly, bro. Technically, the 18 and 20 Mariners and Tigers would still be in. Love that. Love that for the AL.
28:46 Love that for the AL. Love that for the ALE. Love that for May. Tread the rest of these, and I'll say, actually, I mean, Philly's pretty juicy. San Diego, San Francisco, I unfortunately don't have super juicy
28:58 because this has been the story of the Giants and we wanted to get ourselves jazzy about this team. That East Coast trip really buried them. And then they get buried in the rest of this series with a little Sung Moon song. And Jackson Merrill lineup change, and he owns Logan Webb. 6-11 career batting average against Logan Webb.
29:18 Yikes. Yeah, I mean, the Giants problems just are so deep. Logan Webb, not a great start to the year. Obviously, he's been their stopper for the last, you know, five years. He's talking about some knee stuff, which is a little scary. Yeah. He's been dealing with it all season and probably shouldn't even have pitched in that game. But he did, and it wasn't great.
29:39 Giants right now runs per game. Just to guess. three flat close three point one one they are last not good in the big leagues in runs per game you're just not going to win baseball games scoring three runs a game you're just not you're not and that's some of the needs to get figured out devers you know hits a opposite field home run and maybe he gets sparked going but the rest of the offense seems to go too um as far as the Padres go. I am,
30:16 you know, I love the Padres. But I'm actually shocked at the pace that they're on right now. In which way? In a good way. Oh, okay. Yeah, I mean,
30:26 like they're winning games, winning series, and it's not like, it's not like the offense is going nuts. And it's not like they have some great starting pitching necessarily. Although they've been pitched, they've been doing much better than we expect, but they just keep kind of like racking up series wins.
30:47 It's a resilient baseball team down there in San Diego. Yeah, I see what you're saying. I think it's a glass half full, glass half empty. You could be like, oh, wow, these Padres haven't hit the ground running and they're still sitting pretty. Or you could be like, well, we're not, what are we great at besides the bullpen? We'll see. Maybe whiff and canning helps that rotation.
31:09 A good bullpen in baseball can help. Maybe it's bullpen day, dude. Because if you get enough runs and you can hold down a win, that's the difference. Another interesting thing, if people didn't see it in that series, is when Thai France did pinch hip, they didn't give him enough time, essentially. They kind of just like sprung it on him, which is also like Thai France got to be ready, big dog.
31:33 Fair. He ends up, so Stammon says, okay, I can either leave in my lefty, lefty matchup. and with a fresh count or I can send up the matchup that I want but Typhrance is going to start about 0 and 1 because of a pitch
31:50 clock violation which he ended up choosing the latter and Ty Franz does you're right not a best hit triple in the history of the game but he finds grass out there and I just thought that's and after the game Ty France is like I've been 01 a million times in my career so what
32:07 that's interesting I don't know how much that's happened in baseball games where the manager's like, fuck it, bro, you got it, oh one. Go ahead. Yeah, that's tough. Hey, you got any, I mean, hey, I think whatever, it happened. But Ty Francis's mentality is great there where a lot of hitters would be like, are you fucking kidding me?
32:27 Like, I'm going up, oh one. Ty Francis is like, I live, oh one, talk. And yeah, I think, I don't know if that was. That's a big boy. I don't know if that was Jesus Rodriguez. I think I saw somewhere on the sheet his first game in right. field. It's a daunting right field, and he kind of gets there, but he doesn't. Yet, the offense has to go, hey, Devers, homers, he's got a seven-game hit streak, but Giants,
32:51 you guys are kind of out. You let you know when we see you. Today's episode is sponsored by Lids. Lids is turning back the clock this May with the New Era Retro Classic 5950s. Trev, Phillies, are you back on the train? I don't think I ever left the train. Okay. I think I've always been on the train. I mean, it was early on in the season.
33:49 Some things weren't going well for them. I understand that. But, you know, they're a team that I definitely would give the benefit of the doubt. And then all of a sudden, Don Maddenly becomes the freaking manager. And the starting pitchers, remember how to pitch? Start going deep into games, giving them chances. to win. Bryce Harper. OPS, I believe it's like 950 right now. Elite, some would say, Treff.
34:16 Elite. And you know, oh, baby. This is a rematch. The Dominican versus the U.S., Louis Severino versus Oh. Bryce Harper. I thought you were going to ploof bowl me. I thought you were going. Oh, yeah. I always forget I played for the A's. It was not the best time of my life, although I made some good friends. That's nice. Did I FaceTime with Kyle Farmer and Matt Olson yesterday?
34:41 They were golfing at Bel Air? Of course. I'm going to guess yes. Did you tell them to look at the wall, pal? I actually did. And the caddy that was with them, he came on. He goes, you're welcome because he was the caddy for one group we killed. Nice.
34:56 Whatever. That's nobody cares about that. Nobody cares. That's fair. What else do we got here? Chris Sanchez, filthy. Yeah, I mean, where Maddingley's been a good manager, his starting pitching. since he's taken over.
35:09 They've been first in ERA, first an opponent batting average, first an opponent OPS. So the fact that Don's been coaching up the starters like that is very impressive. Yeah, I don't know. Like you said, the Phillies have averse lefty thing. They got their first win against the lefty this year.
35:26 They were 0-10, and they got it on a comeback late that, I don't know. Sometimes those righty mashers become available. I know Randall Gritchick, Austin Slater, are guys that have like switched teams this year that maybe someone like that in Philly they can tap into but no I okay like it is funny when you look at this and you're like oh Mattingley's in charge and you're like okay Harper's going nuts um you know six OPS in the NL the starting pitching is shoving okay Brandon Marsh is crushing the ball he does this every year
36:02 I don't know I shelfy who kind of looks like Brandon Marsh uh yes yes Yeah, I don't know. Philly fans, I don't know why they don't love him a tick more. I feel like there's something I miss from not watching him every day. Obviously, he struggles or sometimes platoons versus lefties, but I don't know why they don't love him an ounce more because his numbers every year are high level. This is another example.
36:25 We keep seeing this, and it's not a coincidence. Brandon Marsh, three hits against the lefty on Wednesday, that raises his overall season average to 336. Great stat right there. It's the first time he's ever. had three career hits or three hits
36:39 in the game in his career against lefties he entered the night with a 574 career OPS versus left-handers
36:48 but you know what's happening it's the freaking traject system man I think so it's happening all across
36:55 baseball where I think a lot of like the especially the left-handers left-handed platoon is going to change because
37:03 they're going to get the bats that's the only thing that's keeping lefties from being good against lefties is they just don't see him a lot. And, you know, the ball's moving away.
37:12 But, like, the main thing is that they don't see it enough. Traject changes that. So if you're at home, these guys are just banging out at bats against lefties, it's going to help them. So I think, I think that's the case. Go Phillies go. They're going to be fine. A little talking athletics.
37:33 Trev, I'm going to, I'm going to ask you if these is a 338 batting average, Good. Yes. Is a 391 on base good? Very, very good. Is a 1.03.0PS good. Yes, very, very good. Is leading the league and hits good? Yes. Is two war and 33 games good? Really good. Shea Langa Lears. Yeah. And then the other... New dad, right? New dad. That got a shout out on the air there. know what else I was going to ask you? This is getting a little off the deep end. Have guys always been so good at hitting fastballs in off the plate?
38:15 Because I feel like I watch highlights every night. And guys are hitting, like, the pitch mark will pop up. And it's in-in. Like, it's, you know, wouldn't be borderline at all. It's not like it's going to hit them. But guys just beat the ball to the spot. that I don't know. I feel like I'm seeing more of it than I can remember,
38:37 but I just may have not been paying attention to it. I don't really know how to answer that for being honest. You definitely, if I had to pick, can I hit a ball, can I hit a ball well or like hit it for a homer, a ball that's two balls off the plate in or two balls off the plate out? I'm obviously choosing in. Okay, that makes sense. And then a lot of guys, I don't know how long,
39:02 Shay's arms are, but that's also a thing. Willingham, you used to say that all the time. He goes, I'm a big guy, but I got a little T-Rex arms. You're not getting inside. Kitchen's closed. There's that aspect to it. You know, guys with longer limbs probably want the ball out over the plate a little bit more. So if I tell you, 2014 ploof, hey, this is probably going to be a fastball in,
39:25 96, two balls in off the plate. But if you know that's there, you're just extended enough and that baby's gone. Yeah, you just catch it out in front. I mean, you do, I mean, you still have to have the right swing path. Because if you don't, and you're coming around the ball, it's just a foul ball. Right. But you got to be able to keep your hands inside of it, clearance with the hip, all the good things. Maybe there's, yeah, I guess if I had to develop this theory further, maybe with all of the, like, the hitting systems and tracking where you hit it and stuff, maybe guys are just better at straighten it out a little bit instead of turning it over.
40:01 I'm just baseball daydreaming, basically. Okay. Let's see. The rest of the National League coach, Brewer's Cardinal split two. I think the Brewers update is Vaughan and Chirillo are back. He had seven hits in this series, four for four, his first game back. That's nice for Milwaukee's offense. He only had two the next day.
40:23 Only six hits. Milwaukee's offense, there's a lot of talk about what they're doing. They're not hitting homers, but they're still their runs per game. I have this page up right now, my bad. Sixth in baseball, 5.17 runs per game. They're not slugging, but when they get on base, they're getting these guys in. They're obviously taking the extra base,
40:42 stealing bases, all those good things. So to get Vaughn and Toreo back to you guys that can hit homers, look out. Look out. I know he's been mentioned. Riley O'Brien, been one of the best closers in baseball that's helped that Cardinals team be where they are in the standings. Orioles Marlins, I'm sorry, guys, I don't have a ton for you there.
41:03 It was funny watching the Marlins actually throw almost every pitch as an outside slider to Pete Alonzo. The Marcy catch was awesome. And Taylor Ward is having an amazing season. I think people need to know that. I don't have too much from this series, Coach. You know, this is an interesting one. Game one was really good, like a lot of scoring back and forth. they have on our notes here
41:27 and I watch this. Esri Ruiz gets on second base against what's his name? Shoot, the Oreo reliever really slow to the plate. Why am I forgetting his name? teammate of mine. Kittridge?
41:39 Yes. Nice. And it's like everybody knows you're trying to steal third base right here. It was a left-handed hitter up too so it doesn't even, it's wide open. Kittridge tries to be fast to the plate. I timed him.
41:52 You want to know what he was? Like he was giving it as all Right he was trying to be quick to the plate One four Okay You ain't throwing anybody out With a walking lead at second base With a one four
42:05 And it was a high pitch They just had no chance Anyways The Orioles came back and won that game Bassett and Sandy Both kind of struggled With command early on in the game And then there was one Liam Hicks
42:20 Homer that was like Yeah I know exactly what you're talking about. And I think Dalton wrote it in the sheep. Sheep. I had the same reaction you had that I was like, okay, Liam Hicks is off to a good start. He's, dude, he might be a dude. Like, his confidence and the aura and the swing is basic that, like, I'm sure if you're playing fantasy or whatever you do, Liam Hicks should be on everyone's radar. And, dude, if Hicks can hit like this in their middle infield, like, the Marlins' offense could be. be something.
42:55 Traded by the Texas Rangers. Hold on. Oh, this is a Rule 5 guy. Yeah. So he went from the Rangers to the Tigers for Carson Kelly. And then in December of 2024, Rule 5 from those tigers to the Marlins. Tigers could use them.
43:18 Protect the guy. Addy Ron. freshman. Yeah. Still going. Yeah. Hey, Orioles win a series. They got to do more of that.
43:30 And then, Trev, the final thing that you and I both kind of looked at each other before and were like, what are we going to do? The Mets, they get on a little win streak. Okay. They start feeling the good juice. The Rockies are turning back into the Rockies a little bit. Mets, you know, four and one. The final game.
43:51 I guess if there's anything you want to talk about with. the Grand Slam or the checks or any of it. I'm kind of good. We can show the Grand Slam. I mean, yes, the check swing thing is going to be, I think, a hot topic. Probably, you know, we're going to do a show upcoming about rule changes and what's been good for the game, what isn't. And I think we'll probably get into a little bit of that as far as like, how can we figure
44:16 this out? Then that is, get you some Jake McCarthy. Yeah. Okay, I get it. you don't, Kimberly, you don't get your way, but still doesn't give you the right to give up a bomb like that. Yeah, and it looks like it goes right over the foul pole, and if they called it foul, I don't know if they overturn it. Do we need to raise the foul pulse? That's the second time it's happened this year, right?
44:43 Let's raise the foul poles. What are we doing? We've got the technology. One hit the top of the foul pole, and then we've had two go over the top of the foul pole. I want comically tall foul poles. Yeah. Or just like a laser beam. Whoa.
44:57 Yeah, that shoots from the top. So you see the ball go through like the laser light? You know the Mets are down bad when this is what we're talking about. Laser beams. I think they prefer we talk about this. Although they were tasting it for a little bit. Carson Benj is happening, Trev. Freddie Peralta should be on the Rockies next year.
45:21 Fastball Freddy. Fastball's play. Yeah, Colorado. If I'm Freddie, I don't know. Yeah, you probably don't want that. I don't know. Let's talk a little American League baseball. We start out the Sox Kid.
45:39 Uh-huh? The Boston Red Sox sweep the Detroit Tigers. I'll tell you what. Peyton Tully can play on my team any day. Pitching through the rain. He loved it. And by the way, Sunny Gray is back. So that's different as he shuts down the Tigers.
45:56 Also, Jaron Duran having a solid May so far after having a horrific April. Oh, and Framber made headlines again. A couple little hit by pitch. Hey, how are you, ejection? I'm sure we'll talk about that a little bit. The Tampa Bay Rays. The ALE East is back. The Rays sweep the Jays.
46:17 So I'm not fully back. The Jays tough season continues. Go see where they are in the standings. And the Rays pitching, man, it's been. as dominant as it gets there the hottest team in baseball, the last three weeks that they get enough on offense. Ryan Valade
46:34 keeps showing up. He keeps showing up. Chandler Simpson fast. Ray sweep, the Mariners take two out of three from the Braves. The Braves lose their first series this season to Seattle. Matt Olson. He did his best in that second game with the game winning home run.
46:53 But other than that, Mariners came back down four nothing. in game one, and then a little two, one tight Brian Woo-woo game to get the series win. My Yankees, take two out of three from the Texas Rangers. How do you like that? Nathan Evaldi has owned them. He did that again in that middle game, but outside of it, man, this Yankees team, they're really winning over the fan base.
47:20 A lot of run scoring late. Judge continues to be Aaron Judge. Cody Bellinger in the extra base. hits have been insane. Jason Dominguez hurt. Spencer Jones, going to be making his debut. Tune in. Royals and Guardians split four. Royals, royals, they win the first two games. They're starting to get hot. We're starting to feel it. The Guardians come in. They win the next two. DeLauder, you know he's involved in it. The two-run single to take the lead. Pedy Helping. Pedy Halpin gets his first RBI. Proud of you, kid. Bobby Witt did everything he could in that final
47:55 game four for four, but it wasn't enough. Bo Nailer, three-run Homer. They split four. The Angels take two or three from the White Sox. Were you watching? I hope you're watching Davis Martin, because he's been one of the best pitchers in baseball. He shuts them down in that first game. Murakami with his 14th Homer. But then it's Halos. From there, Zach Netto, Charizards out of his slump, little Pokemon. How do you like that? And then we love Walbert Urania in this house. He has his second quality start. Travis Darno with the big homer as they knock around young Noah Schultz to get the series win. And, of course, the best for last.
48:34 The Minnesota Twins took on the Nationals. Twins win that first game. Tage Bradley keeps happening. Is Brooks Lee happening? I know Byron Buxton is. It's Nationals the rest of the way. Miles Michaelis with a nice start in that one as the Nationals offense gives him 15. because C.J. Abrams is a bad man. A bad man.
48:58 Also, the K. Bear Ree's game. Where were you? Three hits, four RBI. They take the series over the twins. That's what happened in the American League. Sucre. Save my twins for last. I don't know if I love that. Ryan Valade, same high school as Matt and Jackson Holiday and Brett Anderson. Stillwater, Oklahoma. I have the standings. And we're doing the A.L. And I started with the West. with the NL, so I'll do the same thing here. The athletics still in first place at 19 and 18.
49:32 The only team above 500, they're a game and a half above the Mariners who are 18 and 20. Texas 17 and 20, Houston down bad, 15 and 23, Angels down bad, 15 and 23. In the central, one team over 500, same as the West. 20 and 19, Cleveland Guardians, they have a one and a half game lead over the Tigers who are 18 and 20. White Sox 17 and 20 Royal 17 and 21 and the twins 16 and 22 it's a shit show what it is people and out east we got two teams 2-11 equals four teams 500 or better 26 and 12 for the yanks half game over the race we're 25 and 12 and then it's Baltimore 17 and 21 Toronto 16 and 21 and the Red Sox 16 and 21 and the Red Sox 16 and 20
50:23 only 10 games out. Hey man, great standings, Trevor. Here's what I will say. The Rays are playing great baseball. The Yanks are good. The rest of the American League, if you still want to fire up the engines, you got time.
50:41 The guards and athletics on top of their divisions, one game above 500 each. And yeah, man, the Boston Red Sox. I want people to think about this. At 16 and 22, are technically two games out of the wild card right now. Like, we're still at that point of the season that if Chad Tracy's socks figure it out,
51:07 and they did for a series, they sweep the Tigreys. Coach, I do think the conversation, and I don't know yet in my head that Boston lost last night, but they did. I guess your thoughts on the Framber incident, And I feel like, did we talk about it in the midweek a little bit? No, we didn't. So I guess the people want to know what you think about it.
51:30 I think he hit Traer Story on purpose. I don't know if there's any way around it. This actually caused a lot of drama throughout baseball. If you don't know, Framberg gave up two homers right before this. He'd gotten shelled. And it was the first four-seemer that he'd thrown all year. and there's no pitch that has a pitch profile like that. So it really seemed like it was intentional.
51:58 After the game, to his, we got to say this. He said it wasn't. Yeah. Then I think his manager said it was. You did. Basically. Some quotes about A.J. Hintz saying, you know, usually when you go out in the field, you feel like you're on the right side.
52:13 It feels that way this time. So it was intentional. He didn't even appeal his six-game suspension, which is what he got. AJ Hinch had to get suspended for one game. I have a spin zone on it. Okay, great. Could it be the day that the Red Sox season turned around?
52:34 You get in a little scuffle, brings the boys together because there had been some weird quotes coming out of their locker room, a little bit of bickering amongst each other. And sometimes you need a little, I got your back, you got my back thing to get you going. So I don't know. That's kind of my spin zone on it. Frambert used to figure it out, dude.
52:54 Yeah. And the problem is now, it's like they have to rely on him for the foreseeable future. Scoobes is out, had surgery, loose bodies in the elbow. And he's going to, like, he has to be the ace. For the tigers to stay in this, like, he has to be the ace. And I don't know if he's there mentally right now. And maybe I just don't even know what I'm talking about because maybe Frambert lives here. Maybe he's going to go off on a freaking run now.
53:21 Yeah. We've seen him do that, but that would scare me, obviously, if I was a Tigers fan. And Tigers have entered the injury chat conversation that a couple of teams have been yelling for. Casey Meis, Scoobel, Verlander. I mean, going back to Reese Olson, Troy Melton, Bo Brisky, Will Vest. Like, they have felt that. It's no excuse for horrible defense. They've been like the worst defensive team.
53:50 Jimmy Norp told us a little bit about that. Very interested to see their next steps. And the socks, like I said, I know we've mentally put them in a very different place, but still a lot of baseball to be played. Getting Sunny Gray back helps. Brian Bayo with a nice bulk appearance. So you need the Jimmy's and the Joe's still have to do it in this sport. That'd be interesting if we just got like an opener for Brian Bayo
54:15 and you just like turned it around. It's a weird thing. It kind of works. Oh, he cut his hair too. Well, that's, and that's what matters. Maybe he did, I can't really see you that video right there, but he had the last time that Chad Tracy took him out of the game, he had longer hair.
54:33 Okay. That does help. Can't hurt. Sometimes you just need something different. Gosh, I had something that I was about to say about the, oh, no, the Tigers, you mentioned their defense. They're another one of those teams that just have, everyone kind of playing random positions.
54:49 Yeah. Like close to their position, but maybe not. He got Javi Baez going in center field, and he goes to shortstop, and it's just like all kind of seems like nobody's got their primary position going right now. And that matters as far as being comfortable defensively.
55:06 Yeah, it feels like the formula is have the one guy that can really pick it everywhere. And if he moves around, that's cool. But let everyone else get their feet. set that they move McGonagall around, they move Keith around, and it's just, I don't know, it's not working, so you get to be critical of it, and I think properly so. Red Sox, join the party, because right now, it's all Tampa Bay race in the ALBs, baby. Trev, some of the pitching numbers that keep popping up for them, historic, they haven't
55:39 allowed three runs in 13 straight games. that only trails the 2010 Giants. They did good on that streak. McClanahan is pitching again for him. For him, the raise will call them. And yeah, man, they have their recipe, dude. When that speed shows up, it is a problem. Again, I know last night's game didn't happen,
56:05 but Chandler Simpson torments the Red Sox. What do you have on this? I think the rays are becoming a real problem because of that pitching stuff. I mean, that's the anchor for the raise right now what they've been able to do. And I love that McClanahan's comeback looking like this. Show that pitch again.
56:22 Yeah, that's absolutely filthy right there. What? And pair that up with a freaking heater right off that same pitch, same tunnel. You got no chance right there. Oh, God. Oh, God. And then he can put it down.
56:39 Yeah. he's been looking great. We've talked a ton about Nick Martinez and how good he's been. Drew Rasmussen, you can say the exact same thing. And then we've kind of spent a lot of time. And I feel like it hasn't been this way in recent years, talking about the race and just kind of what they can do offensively.
56:54 They can kill you with the speed. They have the pop too. They got a guy, Aranda driving in runs, Yondi getting on base like he always does. Like it's just, it's a good mixture of players. McClanahan's talking about the clubhouse.
57:07 I love what Cash does in the clubhouse. it is inmates running the asylum, let you do whatever the hell you want to do. It's just a different, it's just a different type of atmosphere there. They're bunting a ton. They're just kind of, they're taking advantage wherever they see fit.
57:27 And I think that a lot of times teams get stuck in ruts. We're like, hey, this is our team offensive identity. And the race, because they promote that culture of BU, like they get this beautiful mixture of play and it's it's it's working this year the other uh some dumb jake analytics on the raise is they feel a step ahead of the other team like every time they place that bunt or they they do whatever
57:55 hit and run or whatever it is it's like they're safe by a step and again maybe maybe that's beautiful and the rays are a step ahead this year maybe it's going to slow down but they've been the best record since April 4th, 22 and 7. On the other side, Tropicana Field has been a House of Horrors for the Blue Jays. 29 and 52 since 2016. The injuries continue to roll on. And, like, again, Jimmy's and Joe's, like Patrick Corbyn gave them a great effort,
58:25 but he's someone they didn't know they were going to be tapping into this year. I don't know. I know we're kind of keeping it moving. You've got a little Okamoto coming up, Coach Trev? Okay. Yeah, yeah. And maybe we'll get that there. Today's episode is sponsored by Shady Ray.
58:40 Shady rays are built for real sports fans. No more squinting through the sun to track a fly ball when you already have sunglasses on. Their polarized lenses help you track that fly ball, read the scoreboard, and see the ump blowing that final call at the plate. Oh, no. But their lightweight frames won't slip, whether you're at the ballpark, golf course,
58:59 or watching the game outside on the patio. And there's two amazing things with Shady Ray's. One, loss and broken protection. If you lose or break them, even right after you get them, Shady Rays replaces them, no drama, no stress. Just a new pair headed your way. The other thing I love with Shady Rays. How about a discount code?
59:17 Talking 50, 50% off two or more polarized sunglasses. Shadierase.com code talking 50, 50% off two or more pairs of polarized sunglasses. Go check out our friends at Shady Rays. I think the final series that we got to hit in a big way. Mariners Braves, to the better teams in baseball. Braves have been this season. Mariners kind of haven't gotten out of the gate as what they wanted to, but maybe this is what does it because they give the Braves
59:48 their first series loss of the year. My God, May 8th. And yeah, I'll let you go. The Mariners, to me, like if I'm thinking about them, I feel like they're trending in the right direction. It's a lot of recency bias because right before this, they got swept by the Royals. So there is that,
01:00:09 and they had a chance to be down in that first game as well. Luke Rayleigh comes up, bottom six. He was in a one for 24, hits the three-run homer. Then JP hits the two-run-homer. They end up getting the lead, and the bullpen does their thing, and they win that one.
01:00:27 So they get a pitching performance by Brian, Wu, which was kind of desperately needed there. They are, I still have the Mariners as one of the better teams in the American League. This shows you why and how they can do it. They got to figure out kind of what they're doing in the back end of the bullpen with Munoz. I think he's going to be okay. He's been a little bit more homer prone this season than years past.
01:00:53 And Wilson kind of stuck with him to face Olson. He gives up the homer. Ferreira's been good back there. Bizarro's been good back there. there. I think we'll see, I mean, I guess I don't know. I don't know if you stick with Munoz and kind of let him work through it or maybe put him in some lower leverage situations because you need to win some baseball games until he kind of finds his groove. But the rest of the Mariners, I feel like are moving in the right directions. That's the one spot that I'll, you know, you want to keep your
01:01:21 eye on kind of like what's Wilson going to do in the back end of the bullpen in the immediate future. Yeah, and with Ferrer, do they play a little more lefty-righty lanes because that's what they could have done in that Olson situation. Yeah, something to track. But yeah, I think these Mariners at White Sox at Houston, that may be a little time to invest in Mariners hitting, if you're looking for that. Because their pitching has been there, the hitting's behind,
01:01:50 and we've seen what Julio does every year. We know Cal isn't what he's been earlier this season, that I think that Mariners hot street could come and it could be built off beating this Braves team that has been the best in baseball. Yeah, I wanted, Rob, I told you to have that pickoff play up, which is tough for the Braves. I can't wait to hear you talk about this because I don't,
01:02:13 this blows my mind. All right, so the situation, Bizarro's in there. Dom Smith hits a sack fly to make it two to one. It was first and third. it hits a sack fly. Mateo's pinch running there. You have Drake Baldwin up. I believe you have Matt Olson on deck or whatever.
01:02:36 You're going to get him up. You're going to get him up. And all of a sudden, this is, I think, the second pickoff attempt for Bizarro on Mateo, he goes in kind of nonchalantly standing up and ends up getting picked off. Just, you know, not even a great move. There's the fake back there from Naylor. but he didn't have a big lead either and I think that's why he went in
01:03:00 I think that's why he went back in standing up because the lead wasn't big but he just like doesn't hustle back. Baldwin ends up hitting a single so it would have been first and third one out with a chance to tie the game instead it's two outs and nothing comes in that inning and it's just you know if you're the Braves
01:03:21 that's what you point to. How did we lose our first series of the year? Oh yeah, bad base running. stupid base running essentially. Yeah, this is, I guess snaps for replay. Like you said, next week, midweek, we're going to cover some baseball big topics from kind of a broad lens. And I don't know, sometimes the replay feels scuzzy when guys slide on the bag
01:03:41 and their foot bounces off for a second and you're like, oh, so for a hundred years of baseball, that person's been safe and now they're out because you get slip an index card and they're just trying to be safe. Like something doesn't feel right about that still. Something about that feels right. Like I think for years we would have missed that call because it looked like nothing. Although, yeah, I'll give, after watching that replay a few times, because I'm going through if I'm Mateo, like what went wrong?
01:04:09 Normally you see that base runner. They do like slap the foot down. Like you put an extra emphasis to touch the base as quickly as you did. He didn't do that. And that's why he's out. Left-handed first baseman helps there because the gloves closer to the body. These are all things you have to remember as a first baseman. Brendan Donovan coming back for Seattle.
01:04:29 That'll be big. Seattle's about to get hot. Mark that down. Oh. Mark the docket. I had that too. I feel it. I feel it.
01:04:37 I'm also there. Eight out of ten. Just for the Mariners coming up. Oh, okay. They just got swept by the Royals. That's fun. We're putting that in our rear view. Okay.
01:04:49 I'm saying going forward. They're going on a road trip, Chicago, Houston, and then San Diego. give me eight out of ten or I guess it's 11 games until our Monday the 18th episode eight would still now that'd be soft if I keep it at eight I'm gonna keep it at eight eight eight and three is really good I just got a text from former brave just quick what you think Peter Moylan Matt Joyce oh wow hadn't heard from him in a long time you know I'm a big Matt says but just popped up my phone okay I'm a big Matt Joyce fan give me your quick Yankees I'll give you my quick twins go
01:05:24 you do your quick twins because my Yankees goes with the standout. Nationals offense really good. They've just been good all year long and they just beat the breaks off the twins. Right now, fourth in baseball, I love this runs per game stat right now. 5.39 runs per game, obviously helped by the 15 Johnny. They put up on the twins in game two. Bailey Ober, tough one there. He's actually been, he's been like a better version of himself this year,
01:05:53 but the Nationals crushed them. They had some pretty decent starting pitching. Nothing great, but the Twins' offense is also kind of in struggle mode. I know we put up 11 in game one. That was nice, but after that, not so much. Simeon Woods Richardson, I don't know how long he is for the rotation. Joe Ryan's going to be okay. Connor Prelips made his way into the rotation.
01:06:18 It'll be interesting to see where we go from there. But Nats can hit. the Nats can freaking hit. I know that the record isn't exactly where they want it to be, but I also think it's not terrible for a Nationals fan to see kind of where they're at. Two games under 500 second in the NAL East, a lot of it has to do with that offense.
01:06:41 James Wood and C.J. Abrams are two of the best players in baseball, and they're both 23 and 25 years old, respectively. So that's why we try to get excited. about these Nats. They just need a little more. Fourth and run scored. Go Nats, go. I'm going to talk about some yanks,
01:07:01 but it's going to be in standout performances. It's time for standout for performances. Stand out performances. Stand out performances. This guy stood out for Trev. Say what? And I'll cut you off at the past, Treve. I'll bat lead off today.
01:07:21 Get on, get me all. over. Because you mentioned my New York Yankees, and you said, give it to me. Judge is judge. It's a 1.0PS, and he still hasn't felt like he's fully clicked. It's nuts. Ben Rice, who's leading baseball and a lot of hitting stats, he went out this series. Didn't matter.
01:07:39 Ryan McMahon has looked like who we thought we might be getting. Jason Dominguez filling in was looking strong. Trent Grisham starting to click. Like, the Yankees pitching has been unreal. The Yankees are 16 and 3 in their last 19 games, Trev. That's pretty damn good, right? I just tried to get the Mariners 8 and 3. 16 and 3 in their last 19 games.
01:08:05 I should be out here barking about the Yanks more. But we have a show called Talking Yanks. Go check that out. And I get frustrated when the comments are like, Jake talked about the Yankees too much. Eat a buck. Three losses in 19 games. Two of them have come to Nate Dog Eivaldi.
01:08:23 Do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do he let it regulate again Eight innings pitch three hits one earn run zero walks eight Ks Just in such control Such old school starting pitcher this is my game I believe he threw his most curve balls in a game since 2019 So the old dog Pulling out whatever he wants something about his windup is very icon He goes the up and out.
01:08:55 And when he locks in, he just turns into unhittable. He hasn't been fully unhittable this year, except against the Yankees because he's a Yankee killer. But a reminder, his ERA was in the ones last year. And I don't know. I'm very interested to see the next part of this Ranger season because, my God, they've just had a case of the no hits outside of Josh Young for a couple years now.
01:09:19 But he was awesome to watch. And I don't know. I either need Texas to become a part of this season and Nathan Avaldi in the playoffs, watch out. Or I want to see Nathan Avaldi pitching in the postseason because that's a bad man. Yes, he is. You know how much I love Nathan Evaldi
01:09:40 and I actually love that he's having success against your Yanks. I did not know that he was originally drafted by the Dodgers, made his debut with the Dodgers. He's been with a bunch of different. teams. I did not have that one. All right. I mean, look, I love him. Somehow I crossed paths with him.
01:10:00 The half of season, he was in Tampa. I was in Tampa. So that's great. I did not have that. Yeah. Wow. Although I think he was there, but he was injured while he was there and was rehabbing. He ended up making it back in 2018 in Tampa. Oh, so you know what? False. Okay.
01:10:22 Wait, he's questioning. You didn't pitch while I was in Tampa. He was in the clubhouse. He was rehabbed. In 2017, I was in Tampa. Nothing that matters at all to whatever you said. I was going to get on you for like not landing the plane. And then I just like took off on my own.
01:10:36 I always land the plane, dog. 11 starts against the Yankees since 2022. Avaldi has a 2-2-2-E-R-A. And I forget if I mentioned this last week or whatever. The first double Tommy John guy to throw a thousand innings after the second TJ. Great T.J. surgery. Great T.J. surgery.
01:11:02 Go look at the game film on that T.J. surgery, and let's find out what happened. Well, the kind of good news, I think Tyone is sneaking up on it. So I think, you know, T.J. surgery and that stat has to be like four years behind. So, hey. Speaking of T.J, we didn't give snaps, but our guy T.J. Antone. Yes. Three TJs back in the show, Strikes Out Bregman and Suzuki was in line for the win, ends up not
01:11:32 getting it. Dalt really wanted to showcase that guy. He does. Three TJs, named TJ. That's weird. That's, yeah. Yeah. Don't like that.
01:11:40 I like that for him that he's back because he's actually had a very good career when he's been pitching. Who's your standout? I mean, we just don't give a lot of love to this team. so I wanted to do it, partly for a stupid reason, because his name is Trevor. Oh, Trevor McDonald of the San Francisco Giants, seven innings pitch, two hits, one earn run, no walks, eight Ks.
01:12:07 Here's a thing about Trevor McDonald. He's not a great minor league pitcher. In the minor leagues, he's sporting a 3-8-8, but in recent years, like in the PCL, which is a notoriously big-time hitters league, 2025 in Sacramento he pitched to a 531 2026 so far he's a 5-4 guy but you put him in the show he's got a 1-4 4 4 through 25 innings pitch so maybe this guy hates the minor leagues and just wants to be in the show let's keep them up there he's got the low arm angle got hitting the butt right
01:12:47 there still makes the play though the 24th Trevor in baseball history wow i don't know tony vitello had weird quotes about him he's saying i don't know about the immediate future but the distant future he's going to have the ball in his hands in a big game like what does that mean what's distant future mean also rob if you can just rewind to the start of that tautis strikeout i realize sometimes beard guys get lumped together but a little bit of hair out the back and a powerful dark beard. He's on the Vitello Robbie Ray diet. Agreed.
01:13:24 We got too many guys doing that look. You can only have one fedora guy per crew. Oh, I thought you were excited about it. I think he looks great. It would be good if it's working. But currently we've got to change something up. We're the worst team in the national league. It's working for him.
01:13:40 And yeah, dude, you'll like this. Maybe not the whole crowd, but everyone will like this. Jimmy's in a tough place. had his Achilles surgery. He's very limited. You know, he could still get into his laptop. It's his first time diving into, like, minor league scouting.
01:13:58 That's where he's looking for time. And I'll tell you what, you mentioned the PCL is a noted hitters league. Also, Jimmy has been shocked watching minor league defense. That he's like, the amount of balls that, you know, the outfielder doesn't get there so it's a double, that'll hurt your pitching ERA. So when you're scouting your minor league pitchers, there might not be getting the defense behind them they expect. And you mention a league like the PCL that, yeah, that maybe Trevor McDonald's ready
01:14:33 for the show in those important endings. He just wants to be in the show. We all want to be in the show. How about us highlighting the pitchers, Trev? Because, you know, it could have been Davis Martin. It could have been Christopher Sanchez, who was nasty. It could have been a boltload of hitters. I'm hoping they're all on Enfuego.
01:14:56 It's time for Enfuego, powered by Amazon, just like how Amazon is there to save the day when you're in a pinch. We're talking about the guys who have been doing everything they can to save their teams this past week. Does Amazon like what you do at the beginning of this segment? Yeah. Do they? Get a big breath and read it right.
01:15:17 For the series, Ezekiel Duran, okay. Five for ten, a double, a triple, a homer, five runs driven in. He was a Yankees prospect before getting traded with Josh Smith. You guys would like to have Josh Smith on that team as part of the what? The Joey Gallo trade. I think you guys regret that one. I think. Brandon Lau, we keep talking about this guy.
01:15:44 Five for nine in this series. He had the two homers to put his team up. up. His 10 homers this season have already surpassed a number of home runs hit by Pirates second baseman all of last year. That eight. Wow. Jake McCarthy, he mentioned him, three for eight. He had two homers. One was that grand slam. Brooks Lee is starting to get it going. I love me some Brooks. Okay. That's what I needed to hear. Five for 12. I got a, oh, we'll talk about it later. A five for 12, three doubles five runs driven it in the series. Not a great series for the twins.
01:16:17 Brooks Lee, nice job. We talked about Brandon Marshall a little bit earlier for the week. 11 for 24, two doubles, a triple, two runs driven in. His 373 Babbitt, which is batting average of balls and plays. The second highest Babbitt since 1900, only behind who? Ty Cobb. Whoa. Whoa.
01:16:37 Wait. He's always had this through 2,000 plate appearances. Yes, he's, I saw that he's a, he's a Babbitt. he's a babbib guy which i don't know that's of all the modern players no one's no one's that is crazy with the information we have shifting sprayed charts three i you know what i would do for a 373 babbip yes but this is where disgusting things just i'm disgusting this is where babbip player conversation, in my opinion.
01:17:20 That some guys swings... I'd be a freaking $100 million, $200 million player if I had a $3.73 Bavitt. Right, but how Brandon Marsh swings the bat, his hits land in a certain... Like, we've seen... This is now 2,000 players. Like, this isn't a small sample.
01:17:38 This is what he does. We... I don't even know how to explain it. Whatever. I need to move on because I'm getting pissed off right now. Otto Lopez, 12 for 29, two doubles, a homer four runs driven in. He extended his hitting streak to 10 games, and he's hit safely in 32 of the Marlins, 38 games this season. He's crushing left-handed pitching, best in Major League Baseball with a 429 average.
01:18:03 He's also hitting 400 or two outs this season. That's the best in the National League. Ryan McMahon, your guy, your third baseman. Nine for 22, three doubles in a homer five runs driven. Isaac Collins, okay. we didn't even talk about Royals Guardians at all. I wanted to talk about Vinnie P a little bit, but we just skipped them.
01:18:20 Sorry, guys. Isaac Collins, here you go. 381 average, three doubles, a homer, four runs driven in. JJ Bladay of the mopped Reds. They're clean at least. Eight for 27, two doubles, three homers, six runs driven in. That's who's in Fuego.
01:18:36 Thanks to our partners at Amazon, shop Amazon, save on Essentials, save the every day. I like that, Trev. When we bring that, when we're running the Twins team, If we ever get mopped, which is doubtful, we'll probably just be doing a lot of mopping. Let's say, show up for that next game and say, hey, boys, we got mopped,
01:18:54 but that means we're clean. Let's go play ball. Boom. Get hot. The show doesn't get hot here. It actually gets ice cold. We're doing batters who are struggling. Hey, man.
01:19:06 You've been struggling. It's time to pick it off. Josh Lowe. Nathaniel's brother. People forget. There are brothers in the show. Early settlers. What do you know about the war of 1812?
01:19:21 I know nothing. Oh. I have a slight history itch. I'm currently like ancient history though. Like feed me Rome on the whole. Give me ancient Egypt. Like I'm ready to do that. That I'm going to work my way up.
01:19:38 At some point I'll be interested in like actual American history. Can I do just two quick things on this? Absolutely. I'm like history. Okay. Number one. I also love ancient history, but who the hell knows? Oh, yeah.
01:19:52 If it's right. But I like that. I like that we start guessing. Whoever one writes the history, bro. We have no idea what really went down in any of that. Number two, you know, they say like when you get to a certain age, you either start like smoking meats or getting into American history. Right.
01:20:10 Leonardo DiCaprio has finally entered that realm. He's executive producing a new. American History show on Netflix I've been watching. And I just think it's funny. Okay. It's like that guy didn't want to grow up for a long time. Yeah. And there's still aspects of him that, you know,
01:20:28 but he's finally in his American history phase. It makes me feel like good. I don't know. Let's fully derail this shit. First of all, Leonardo DiCaprio, a crazy, crazy name. Fake. I believe it's a stage name.
01:20:44 Leonardo da Vinci, is he the guy that pops up every now and then? It's like he invented half the shit we use. Yes. The helicopter. He invented the helicopter, which is insane. Right. That every now and then I get his bio. And they're like, yeah, the parachute, the helicopter.
01:20:59 And you're just like, what was this guy doing? Because they didn't really do that. Oh, okay. Like he, yes. He found the special plant or something. And he was just the guy. That's crazy to me. What else?
01:21:13 Oh, I saw a good stand up. I don't have the person's name. It was just, it popped up. on on Instagram and the guy, he's doing like crowds, crowd, what's it called? Crowd searching? Crowdwork. Crowdwork. And he's like, get, give me a year in American history.
01:21:28 I'll tell you who the president was going on at the time. And he's like, and they're like, oh, you know, 1840. He's like, oh, this guy was president and this was big at the time. And the next year, this happened. It was one of the biggest, you know, a big vote that changed the country, blah, blah. And he's like, yeah, America and history. And he's like, he's like, oh, ask me something about Britain's. history. Give me a year and someone's like, oh,
01:21:49 1680, and he goes, I don't give a fuck. And it was just a really good, it was a really good drop. It was really good America. Take that. Take that. Because we won. George Springer, not currently winning. One for 14. Same with Jose Fernandez. The kid, one for 13. Yorda. It comes for all of us.
01:22:09 Three for 23. When you're a team and you play Houston and Yordaun walks away with a three for 23, you just get a little religious in that moment. Vladito, three for 22. So this is the thing, people. Batters who are struggling, it comes for everyone. Over the two weeks, oh boy, your catcher and my catcher. Tyler Heineman and Edgar Caro, two for 21, three for 22.
01:22:34 Josh Bell, no. Six for 42. Ketel Marte and a six for 43 OPS of 363 with runners on base. That'll change. It's the lowest in the NL. And Ramon Luriano, a couple of my faves at the end here. Five for 35, slugging 260 against starting pitchers. It's not what you want.
01:22:57 The only thing you want less is to be on the aisle. I'm out there. God, yeah. Don't listen to this. Danny Kallum with cervical spasms. That's rough. A couple weeks. Hopefully Austin Hayes back to the aisle.
01:23:13 I hate that. Eric Miller in that San Francisco pin. Scoobel was obviously one of the bigger news this week. It'll be interesting. They're saying four to six weeks as possible. I mean, what does possible mean? But obviously that timeline and that amount of starts that scuba could make or miss is going to be very important. And how careful is he with his free agency?
01:23:38 Gabe Spire and that Seattle pen, Cronzone. Croninworth on the Concussion I.L. Deez with the oblique. Trev's going to send the message. Six to eight weeks. That's a real. That's a real bleak. Uh, Stephen Matt's left elbow. Hate that. Josh Smith, as you mentioned earlier. Three to four weeks. The right glue. Okay. Ramon, you're Ureus. Four to six weeks with tennis elbow. And Matthew Boyd with a left meniscus six weeks. Is this the longest list of all time? Bro. It keeps getting worse. Playing with his kids, Matthew Boyd. Carlos Correa out for this season.
01:24:18 Emilio Pagan tore's hamstring on the bump. Glaber Torres left oblique. Roman Anthony right wrist. Jason Dominguez into the wall. We'll see. That's your I-L. I mean, I'll say this. This is our biggest returning from aisle of the year.
01:24:34 Jackson Churio. Give me one, Trev. Let it rip. Churio. God, when was that? March. WBC. Couldn't tell if that guy was the whitest guy of all time
01:24:46 or the most Latino guy of all time. We'll never know. Tru Rio is back for Milwaukee. Sean Murphy for Atlanta. Remember when he was like the best catcher in the game? Now they've got another guy. Yeah. Andrew Vaughn for Milwaukee, the best to ever do it now that he's a brewer.
01:25:07 Nick Allen for Houston, go pick a kid. Duran out of that Philly pen, that matters. Iglesias out of Atlanta's pen. that matters. McKinsgoat for Detroit. Kirby Yates, Sunny Gray, Alec Manoa with some weird quotes. Back for the Halos.
01:25:22 Brock Stewart, Trev. For your Dodgers. A couple other bullpenets. Yuki Matsui, Stephen Kolek for Kansas City. Can we start everyone's weekend? Oh, what? Go, King. I am going with the Changes Award.
01:25:43 And there's like, change is such a... It is a word and a concept that is just really had some massive quotes around it. You could think, be the change you want to see in the world. Who said that? Be the change you want to see in the world. That is, I don't know. It's Gandhi. Gandhi.
01:26:09 Shit. Come on, bro. I don't know. The only constant is change. That was Heraclitus. I might have not said that right. I don't know if I said that right. That sounded like a prank phone call.
01:26:30 Is there a hairy clitoris, sir? Winston Churchill said to improve is to change. To be perfect is to change often. We had a big change. and it started April 18th for our guy, Kazuma Okamoto. Oh, okay. And I'm curious about the science behind this.
01:26:53 I'm a hitter, so I should probably know. He made a change in the batters box, moving back in the batters box, in the middle of a road trip and said, ah, I'll just do this, went back, and right now, Bobbo has it up. He is, he went back a good,
01:27:12 how many inches did he go back? I had it up here. The move was from 20.9 inches in the box, which starts at the, they talk about the front of the plate there, all the way back to 27.7 inches deep. So for reference to the rest of the league,
01:27:34 20.9 is considered like further up in the box than average. And 27.7 is consistent, considered farther back than average. And there's no right way to do it, essentially. And that's what I was trying to think as a hitter. Like, is there some science that we could really back up here? But like a ton of guys who are really good hitters stand in the front of the box. Jose Altuve, our guy, Ildemarle Vargas, is way up in the box.
01:28:03 And then there's guys way in the back of the box. Like Ozzy Albies, I think, is the furthest back in the box. There is. A lot of home run hitters tend to stand first. back in the box, bigger guys, whatever it is. Maybe there is some sort of science we need to figure it out. But it doesn't really matter. Okamoto has found his swing.
01:28:25 Since April 18th, when he made the change, you won't even believe these numbers, bro. 308 average, 400 on base, 708 slugging for the 1.1. He's got eight homers and 19 runs driven in in 18 games, dude. So what a difference it's made. Basically, it helped him against breaking balls. That was the biggest thing that changed for him. He was chasing a lot of breaking balls out of the zone.
01:28:53 And now he's laying off the pitches out of the zone and also swinging more at the breaking pitches in the zone. So it's just made his overall, he's just giving himself a little bit more time to see. So typically, you know, again, like you'd think, move back in the box, give yourself more time. It makes sense to me. I never did it.
01:29:11 I was a middle of the box guy. Maybe I should have been a back of the box guy, but it's just something you don't even think about. Like you just, you stand where you stand in the box. Every once in a while, I'd get up on the plate or maybe move off the plate, depending on where guys were coming with their pitches on me. Sometimes if you had a sinker guy or a sidearm guy, I'd move up just a tad bit to try to get rid of some of that sink and get the ball a little higher in the zone for me. But I think that's going to be something, especially because we have the visuals. now we can track all this stuff i wonder how often we're going to see guys start tinkering with this that's really good if you go to baseball savant check that out um it's a really cool
01:29:53 visual to see i wonder if we're going to start to to get into a little bit more science with it and depending on your height your bat path uh maybe maybe we'll go more picture specific i think there's something coming there with where you're in the box and it can be further away or closer or they're off the plate closer to the plate. I think we'll eventually get there a ton. But it's just been a crazy change for Okamoto. And yeah, I just wanted to highlight. I thought it was great.
01:30:25 The numbers suggest that he's found something. We'll see if he sticks with it the rest of the year. And if his numbers continue to look like that, look out. But change's award goes to Kazuma Okamoto. Yeah, you're right, Trev. There's definitely a next level to it. and I don't know what it is. I'll tell you what,
01:30:44 it used to be fun to watch Rizzo, and I guess Cubs fans, you guys watched him a lot more than I did, but, you know, there was a few times where he would guess change up and he would move up in the box, which was, it feels mind-blowing, but at the same time, maybe it shouldn't.
01:31:00 Like if we were doing a, you know, what does baseball look in 2060? Where your batting stance is, is it different for each pitcher? But we talk about how important it is. for hitters to be comfortable that, and bring this back to the kind of, I might have lost some people before
01:31:17 about the fastball in conversation, but where your point of contact is, now that we've put such an emphasis on pulling the ball and launching the ball, that yes, like where you're standing clearly is a major factor that I wonder if that does become more of a sport. Because like you said, kind of the old school baseball science for years
01:31:39 was like, ah, sinker-baller, get to it before it sinks and that's what we had. That there's definitely a next level to it. And I wonder, is it a team thing? Is it going to be a player thing? Or how do you even cross that bridge really? Something's going to happen. There's going to be enough data with all the tracking that we're doing now
01:32:02 that we'll start to see correlation between where a guy stand in the box, who has success against this pitcher. And we'll have an article on fan graphs. I'd assume in short order talking about the effects of where you need to stand in the box. Treve, amazing award. By the way.
01:32:20 Okay. And I got to run because Chris Rose yelled and then he's got to be with Brady, but I've got to get one last thing. I said you're stupid if you don't consider bunting. I don't know how many. That was that two years ago I said that.
01:32:33 I went on a rant and said that. I said, if you are a never-bent person, I think you're stupid. And then here we are where bunts are just running wild in the league. I mean, yeah, man. We're going to be seeing this, people. Okay. If we needed to put together a mixtape for that Twins front office gig, we'd have some decent receipts. I think I'm like well on my way.
01:32:57 I'm ready. I'm ready, pal. I'll be quick with it. And then we'll send you to Chris Rose. I'll give out the aging like a fine wine award. And you know, sometimes we like to highlight the olds on this show. This isn't necessarily an old, and all wine doesn't have to be crazy old. You just got to get wine to this guy, because it's Ian Hap, and you've given wine. You've given wine to this guy. The Cubs are amazing. They're one of the most fun teams to watch. I mean, the way they're defending Wrigley, three straight walkoffs, the professionalism of each player and part of it starts with Ian Hap, who, by the way, is aging like wine. he's putting in his hair I want, I probably can't afford.
01:33:43 Because Ian Hap signed a contract a couple years ago, three years 61 million. And I was a little mad at Ian Hap. From a bias standpoint, I was mad he wasn't going to hit free agency and be able to sign with my Yankees because they had a left field situation for a while that was problematic. They went out and got Cody Bellinger and that has worked out well. Although Cody can't play center, by the way. But I was also like, Ian Hap is really good at baseball, right?
01:34:13 Four straight gold gloves. He's four war a year. It's like clockwork. Career 247, 344, a 793 OPS. And he just kind of punches it. Well, this year he's punching the ball. He's got a 500 slug right now for the 876 OPS. And on this Cubs team with like, we've harped on Horner.
01:34:35 You know, we tell, oh, Dan, B.C.A. Michael Bush has kicked into gear for this team. Ian Hap has hit third or fourth in every game for the Cubbies that he's been in. He might have sat a couple games. But when Ian Hap is in the lineup, he's hitting third or fourth, switch hitting, playing gold glove defense. That's a special ball player, man. And I mean, I feel like sometimes we're almost too close to the sun, knowing Ian that maybe we don't highlight him enough. Maybe we do. I'm giving him my award right now.
01:35:09 But the other thing that I wanted to note here, when I mentioned that contract he signed, I was like, damn, Happer, like, you know, now you're going to hit free agency a little later, and what's that look like? Ian Hap, free agent after the season. If he keeps up this pace, Ian Hap's going to be just fine no matter what.
01:35:34 He was already going to be just fine. But holy smoke. I know, because Ian Hap might put together something special this offseason. So shout out to Happer and the Hull Cubs, but what, you raised your hand, Trevor? He's a twin. I'm already- Stop it, dude. You're getting outbid.
01:35:53 Let me tell you when I'm, when I got the higher rups on the phone, I got the higher ups on the phone. Ian Hap's going to be a twin. He's not a twin. He's a media darling. He wants the city. I don't know if he wants a city. It's a city guy. He's a Midwest king.
01:36:09 He liked what Rizzo did. He's a Midwest king. Come save the twins. Be the guy. By the way, nine homers. If he would have been playing at Philly, Sinci, or Milwaukee, or L.A., he would have had 12 homers. Yeah, there's a couple windballs that got him. I also, you know, with Riggly, there's a couple that might have been benefited.
01:36:31 By and large, he's not benefited by playing at Rigley. Only a few parks would he have less hummers. Yankees is actually the biggest one. He'd have seven there. Hey, man, he said he just tries to get out of April with his numbers not looking terrible because when Wrigley's cold and miserable, it's brutal. And he's off to an amazing start.
01:36:50 So never want him being overlooked with those cubbies. Don't overlook Coach Trev. He's hopping over. He's doing more grinding with Chris Rose on baseball today. I hope your team wins this weekend. Enjoy your baseball. weekend. We will be back on Monday. Get into the middle of May and then it's kind of summer. Jake sucks. I got to be honest. I don't, like I was getting my body ready for summer. It's okay.
01:37:24 It's not where I wanted to be. Yeah. I think I'm going to start a, like, today, like some sort of intermittent fasting. I, I would love a four-week program, like just to find a, before winter gets there. Poppo.
