So if you've been living in a cave, say hi to the rocks for me.
And if you've been living under a rock, you must be flat as Stanley.
Trump signs a memo, ordering 2,000 National Guard to come to L.A. to protect these ice agents.
And our governor, Gavin Newsom, and our mayor, Karen Bass, objected to it.
The LAPD objected to it.
There was a lot of reports about Stephen Miller.
What are we doing out there?
Start getting out there, going to Home Depot's, going to 7-Elevens.
He wanted...
You know, where the criminals are.
They're hanging out outside Home Depot.
They're working in restaurants.
They're picking vegetables.
Beloved members of the community have been deported.
And they're like, but I thought he was going to get the bad guys.
Yeah.
And we love that guy.
Didn't they know he's good?
He's a good guy.
LAPD's response time to help, ICE, 55 minutes.
And then they got there and they looked at ICE and they said,
I mean, we could file a report.
We just don't know if it's going to help.
And I said, well, so should I do it or not?
I'm looking at a time with me tell me what's going on.
Tell me what's going on.
So listen to a baby on.
Tell me what's going on.
Tell me what's going on.
After.
Just make a clap.
Oh.
Sorry.
Whenever you do that.
Yeah, that's on me.
Oh.
Sorry.
One more.
Sorry.
It's like he doesn't realize that when I clap, when I make it clap.
No, I realize.
I just, in this house, we like to have fun.
In this house.
Bee pets.
In this house, bee pets eat good.
And we like to have fun.
Oh, bee pets eat well is actually probably the.
the phrase.
What did I say?
We both said eat good.
But,
well, mine was a...
Love that chicken from Popeyes.
Mine was a reference to Applebee.
Nipplebee.
Excuse me?
There was a movie.
Welcome to the show, folks.
There was a movie that I loved watching with my brothers called Cheaters.
Cheaters.
It was a television show or Cheats?
You said it was a movie now to television show.
Can you believe him?
It came out in two.
2000. And it was really, really, really good. It was, uh, Jerry O'Connell. No, that's not it. Was it Cheats? Cheats. It was called Cheats. And it came out in
what year? 2002. It's, uh, it's, it was great. But there's a guy named Appleby in it who was played by Martin Star. We all
know Martin Star. And, um, uh, uh, yeah, this is, this is it. And his name was Appleby and all the bullies
called him Nipplebee.
Stuck with me for 20 years.
Well, there you have it, folks.
Oh, boy.
Oh, Babu.
A movie called Cheats.
Ben...
Highly recommend that movie.
You really should go watch it.
Anyway, folks, welcome to the Ben and Emile Show.
If you want more content, you can always go over to the Ben and Mealshow.
Dot com.
We're doing free trials.
Seven-day trials.
People are loving those.
People love them.
They like it so much that they stick around.
I think you're going to like what you see.
I think you're also going to like this.
video, like it, comment it,
subscribe. You know, it's been a while
since we've done any kind of thing
for subscribers, but we got to get that
we got to get those numbers up.
We got to get those numbers up.
We got to get the numbers down.
No, no, we got to get them up. We're getting to 100K
and we're taking it seriously.
And we're going to have a pizza party
for everybody. We're going to get one
pizza. We're going to cut it in a baby, baby
slices and everybody's going to share
and it's going to be great. We're going to watch a movie.
Shrek 2. I'm not going to watch Shrek 2.
It'll be just like middle school.
If you don't get at least, if you don't account for at least two slices per person,
horrible pizza party.
I agree.
Actually,
I'm one to believe that everybody should get four slices because I'm a big fat pig bitch and I need four.
Oh, no, I want more than two.
But if you're,
but if you're,
there's nothing worse than going to an event where people don't account for the amount of food.
People need.
Embarrassing.
20 people and they're like,
I got three pizzas.
I'm like,
you got to be cock sucking kidding me.
Yeah.
I don't know what kind of culture you grew up in.
but, like, coming from a Greek and Italian thing,
if there wasn't, like, many, many things of leftover food, it's like...
Oh, my family would get two large pizzas for the five of us.
I remember being...
That's probably why I have a quasi-eating disorder.
I want to out this person.
I went to a friend's parents came to visit,
and they rented an Airbnb in L.A. and had us all over.
Ran out of food.
Whoa. That's not cool.
And I was, I panicked.
I was like, well, there's not going to be more food?
Yeah.
We're so hungry.
Yeah.
I, my brothers and I used to, when there was leftovers, we would grab a couple
slices, wrap them up in like foil or a bag and then hide them in the fridge, like in the
vegetable thing because it was, you know, I'm calling dibs for tomorrow.
We're keeping it light before we get into the, well, it's not going to be that.
heavy, but we're talking about ice, ice, and not the kind of ice that you might find in a beverage
or in Alaska.
It's definitely not going to be, you know, not, it's not the most fun.
Yeah.
But we'll try to keep it fun.
And it's definitely a little different from what we talk about, but I mean, it's, it's very
frustrating to see the way a lot of this is being covered as someone who lives in L.A.
And as someone who's been down to some of the stuff going on down in downtown L.A.,
these protests.
So it seems very important to talk about this stuff
Because there's clearly
There's clearly different narratives
Going on around what's actually going
So if you've been living in a cave
Say hi to the rocks for me
And if you've been living under a rock
You must be flat as Stanley
Flat Stanley
Remember Flat Stanley?
No
Flat Stanley was a flat
piece of paper guy laminated that kids in school would have to take them on vacation and stuff. Yeah. I feel
like the guy travels for free. The boy travels for free. I mean, he must have status on Delta or something. I feel
like you're like afraid to talk about it or something. No, no, I'm not. I'm just, um, I'm just in a chipper
mood. I can't wait for the bonus. Got a lot to talk about in the Bobo. What do you call it that?
The Bobo. Okay. So look, uh, there, there was a lot of reports about Stephen Miller,
Everyone's favorite punching bag on Twitter, weird-looking guy, his wife reportedly sleeping with Elon Musk now. Unable to confirm or deny, but he probably is. Wouldn't you sleep with Elon Musk if your husband was Stephen Miller?
She's not. She's not. By comparison, Elon Musk probably seems like a catch when you're dating Stephen Miller. Anyway, he's a big architect of the whole, you know, dialing up the.
xenophobic rhetoric
wants to be
deporting more people
arresting more people
in the past few weeks
there have been reports about him
going to ICE and being like
turn it the fuck up
what are we doing out there
stop with the going after
the criminals stop with
the you know having target lists
and everything start getting out there
going to Home Depot's going to
711s he wanted you know where the criminals
are he wanted arrests
immediately. That's where all the
guys who
gang bang the illegal MS-13 guys are.
They're at Home Depot. They're hanging
out outside Home Depot. They're working in restaurants.
They're picking vegetables.
That's where they are.
And so ICE has arrived in L.A.
And we started seeing some of these
raids on Friday.
Friday afternoon into evening,
which led to some protests.
Actually, one of them was
probably right by where we shot our video. The suit video. That's kind of like our garment
district. There's tons of like apparel manufacturers and stuff. Santee Alley. Yeah. I don't know
if it was exactly that, but yeah, it's probably somewhere around there. There's tons of those
stores and manufacturers. My favorite little factoid about the start of it on Friday is,
so I disappeared at this clothing manufacturer downtown and they immediately were going to
putting pushback from people and it was getting out of control for them to handle.
They called up LAPD.
LAPD's response time to help ICE, 55 minutes.
Look, hey, you got to-
They had dogs to shoot.
You got to admire the consistency.
They don't care who's calling.
They're not coming to help.
It was, but it's been, I mean, it was, and they said, they literally said,
there was a ton of traffic.
We couldn't get there in time.
And I said, it actually took you guys,
three hours. And the LAPD chief was like, no, no, no, it took us 55 minutes.
Trust us. And then they got there and they looked at ICE and they said, I mean, we could
file a report. We just don't know if it's going to help. And I said, well, so should I do it or
not? That's pretty much... It's up to you if you want to file a report. That's, that folks, if you
don't live here, that's endemic to what it's like when you work with the police sometimes here
depending on the crime.
Like when my car got broken into and stolen, it was like, well, no, hold up.
I mean, it's probably gone, but we could put it in the system.
Anyway, next day, Saturday.
Yeah, but so, I mean, that day, tons of protesters showed up.
I think it was hundreds of protesters and a big, a big labor leader, David Huerta,
was arrested, who has since been released, which is great.
But he was arrested.
They said he was blocking some of these vans that were trying to get in and out of the
federal building.
That's, this is all, it, it all takes place downtown.
Los Angeles is gigantic.
If you, if you don't, if you, if you're not from here or never been or never really experienced it, the gigantic places is all.
And I'm saying this because people probably think if you've, if you're watching at home that.
Oh, yeah.
My brother texted me from Texas.
He's like, are you okay?
The amount of buddy.
Yeah.
Texts and things I've gotten is that, that's why I, like, want to talk about it's just so crazy.
But you're talking about like four or four.
square blocks downtown maybe and the federal building is down there uh there's a detention center
down there city hall is down there and the detention centers where they bring all the troubled
high schoolers and they make them they make them chill after after hours no i'm kidding that's this
that's the city jail it's the city jail yeah and have you ever man when i drive by that city jail
the font on the building i i've i have wanted to do uh a piece about why cop
fonts are what they are, you know?
Like the police detention center.
It's just got such a...
I'm having trouble recalling the font.
There you go. Look at that.
Men's Central Jail.
I can't tell if it looks straight out of a movie or it's because I've seen it in movies
because everything was once upon a time shot in L.A.
But even then, just like the big capital letters italic...
Yeah, it doesn't look like a fun place.
No, it doesn't. It doesn't.
And it's just interesting how the use of, I'm sure some design student has done a report on this.
Do you want the font to be more fun?
Yeah.
Okay.
Like in Europe, they're like all lowercase like, man, central jail.
I think the jails are a little different.
Yeah.
You ever see those like Swedish ones where they're like, I play some PlayStation.
I'm murder to tell people, but they tell me that if I am on good behavior in two years, I can get out and be a fisherman.
I got my bachelor's degree.
Yeah.
They trust me.
I'm not going to go anywhere.
Hey, game, we've got to take a quick break to talk to you about something pretty exciting.
Are you trying to – we're trying to – there's a vehicle giveaway here.
Looking for your chance to drive off in a brand new electric vehicle and support a nonprofit working for a cleaner environment?
We got the perfect opportunity for you.
This year's electric vehicle raffle for the planet from the CCAN Action Fund is better than ever.
Here's why. Every ticket gives you not one, not two, but three chances to win an amazing electric vehicle.
Yeah, you're going to have to go up against me because I'm throwing my hat in the ring.
The grand prize winner gets to pick from six luxury EVs, the rugged Rivian R1S SUV, the powerful Rivian R1T truck, the brand new lucid gravity, the sleek lucid air, the bold Porsche McCann EV, where the iconic Porsche take-in.
The second place winner will choose between a Hyundai Ionic 5 or the Volkswagen ID.
Buzz.
And this year, what is that made?
It's the name of the car, the Volkswagen ID Buzz.
Why'd they put the period?
I don't know.
Keep going.
This is great.
And this year, there's a third prize.
The reliable Chevy Equinox EV.
Only 10,000 tickets will be sold.
Tickets are just $200 and support the C-Can action funds mission to fight for
cleaner air and a healthier environment.
Even better, the group covers state and federal taxes.
That's huge.
And tariffs, no problem.
They cover that too.
Head over to www.
www. eV.raffle.org to grab your ticket.
That's eVraffle.org or check the show notes in the description for three shots to win the EV of your dreams.
Anyway, so Saturday in Paramount, there were rumors of some of these raids at the Home Depot.
Yeah, which is just, just don't.
on it's on just as a quick aside i mean i think everybody can get behind the idea of finding and
pursuing criminal justice for rapists and murderers and gang members and that's what i thought
the trump administration was promising but it's like you're going to fucking home depot man
unless there's a guy anyone who thought that's anyone who thought that's what they were going to do
is insane though i mean i hate you know donkey on anyone who fell for his stuff but
But like, I don't know if you saw the woman from, I forget what it was exactly Latinos for Trump.
They have the video of her at a rally screaming like, I am for Trump.
Like, we love Trump.
And people are playing it.
And I guess they also have.
On stage, right?
Yeah.
And they also have a video of her now being like, I feel lied to.
I feel.
And it's just kind of like, what?
What?
He said that's what he was going to do.
Not only, everyone's holding up signs mass deportations now.
Like, what?
Yeah.
Was she deported or family members?
No, no, family members.
I mean, that's the thing.
I mean, how many of the, like, news stories have we seen where they go talk to,
they go talk to these people from local communities where beloved members of the community
have been deported.
And they're like, but I thought he was going to get the bad guys.
And we love that guy.
Didn't they know he's good?
He's a good guy.
Anyway, sheriff's department shows up.
they start shooting tear gas around 6 p.m. Saturdays when things started to ratchet up.
Well, and at the same time, there was more protesting downtown L.A. at the Metropolitan Detenture Center,
which is, because a lot of these, even if it's not happening...
And in Compton.
Yeah, even if it's not happening in...
Even if raids aren't exactly happening in L.A., they are happening around Southern California,
and they don't necessarily have a bunch of places.
ready to go to store all these people. So you're seeing these white vans come in and out of
bringing people in. They've snatched. And so Saturday night, 6 p.m. Our time, Pacific time,
Trump signs a memo ordering 2,000 National Guard troops to come to L.A. to protect these
ICE agents, these federal agents. And our governor, Gavin Newsom, and our mayor, Karen Bass,
objected to it. The LAPD objected to it. I was listening on the...
going, dude, we have this under control.
It's not only that, but to hear, I mean, local radio, by the way, is, this is why I love local
radio.
And my local news radio station has it.
Fuck, they are covering it so well.
But they had the, I believe it was the chief of police on saying, we don't, this is only
going to make things worse.
It's going to, not only inflame tensions, but it creates much more of a disruption to
communication.
It makes it a lot harder.
one more entity that has to be controlled and told where to go and whatnot.
And also, it's the governor who is supposed to legally request National Guards.
Yeah, this is pretty unprecedented.
Yeah.
A lot of people are pointing that out now the last times that it was nationalized.
Well, 1992, it happened but with the consent of the governor, 1992 in L.A. with the riots.
That was also after, I believe, over 60 people died.
And I mean, at that date, billions of dollars of property damage just like out of control.
And before that, people are pointing out it was during civil rights actions when in 1965, LBJ sending in the National Guard to enforce these southern politicians who didn't want to enforce desegregation efforts and all of that stuff.
So this is pretty...
unusual. And it's a classic example of Trump doing, he clearly wants this because it enables
him to ratchet up the fascism that he so desperately wants to engage in, but just needs an
excuse to do so. I just hope to God that nobody shoots any cop or any, because that's what the
real word is. Just to speed this along a little bit. Sunday was like probably the peak of all
of this. There was more protesting, protesting downtown at the MDC, the city hall. That's where you're
seeing the highways blocked. All those videos you're seeing from the Waymo's being burned, the, you know,
these kind of epic images of people standing on cars with the Mexican flags and, you know,
videos of people being cattled and pushed around the city and the dispersal orders and all that.
I love the Waymo thing because people were just calling them. Like, beckoning them. In the way,
And the Waymo's were like driving to their own death.
The Waymo thing is incredible.
And anyone complaining about the Waymo thing shut up.
It's like...
Well, I'd say I have complaints about that.
You have complaints about the Waymo.
Well, because it only inflames and it gives the Trump administration the ammo that, like, it's so good for...
I don't care about the loss property or anything like that.
It's to me, it's the kind of bad act.
who...
Oh, I don't care about any of that.
I don't, like, people who want to...
I agree, they can use it to their benefit,
but I'm never going to come out here and, like...
What about Google?
What about any of these things?
Or, like, you know, some damage to property was done.
Like, these are not things I would, like, call for and stuff,
but these are people protesting, like,
an extremely violent regime.
you know, with all the stuff we're seeing people, there's like a lot of anger here and people
are trying to protect their communities. And, you know, I'm not going to, I just don't think
it's helpful at all to, uh, and, uh, and what, what you see on TV and like on Twitter and
stuff is just so different than the reality. I mean, I, I, I want to like read just the way Trump
has been describing it himself. Uh, oh, so this is like one of the first,
ones I saw from him. A once great American city, Los Angeles, has been invaded and occupied
by illegal aliens and criminals. Jesus Christ. Right. And I mean, we live here. We're
this is not. Yeah, I can tell you there's not an illegal outside with a gun. Now violent
insurrectionist mobs are swarming and attacking our federal agents to try and stop our deportation
operations. But these lawless riots only strengthen our resolve. I'm directing Secretary of Homeland Security
Christy Gnome, Secretary of Defense, Pete Hegseth, and Attorney General Pam Bondi in coordination
with all other relevant, whatever.
Order will be restored, the illegals will be expelled, and Los Angeles will be set free,
because we're taken over.
We need to be liberated.
Please.
I love what he ends them with.
Thank you for your attention to this matter.
It's so dystopian.
It reminds me of like a computer saying, you have no credits left.
You are going to die.
Thank you for visiting.
I mean, the way, it's just so.
wild. We made a great decision in sending the National Guard to deal with the violent instigated
riots in California. If we had not done so, Los Angeles would have been completely obliterated.
When did he say that?
June 9th, yesterday morning, June 9th, 910 and 910 a.m. The very incompetent governor of
Gavin Newscombe and quotation marks mayor, Karen Bass, should be saying, thank you, President
Trump. You are so wonderful. We would be nothing without. Sorry. We would be nothing without you.
sir. Instead, they choose to lie to the people of California and America by saying that we
weren't needed. No, you are lying. We're here. We see it. Yeah. Just one look at the pictures and
videos of the violence and destruction tells you all you have to know. I do think it's very easy
to like manipulate video and images you're seeing and make it look like Los Angeles is on fire.
Yeah, it's like there were like four Waymo's on fire. And he's got all these insane. I don't know
what this one's about. What? He's got this quote. This is how it's
starts out, this is in quotes. If they spit, we will hit. This is a statement from the President
of the United States concerning the catastrophic Gavin Newscom inspired riots going on in Los Angeles.
The insurrectionists have a tendency to spit in the face of the National Guardsmen slash
women and others. These patriots are told to accept this. It's just the way life runs,
but not in the Trump administration. If they spit, we will hit. And I promise you, they will be
hit harder than they have ever been hit before. Such disrespect.
will not be tolerated.
Jesus Christ, man.
Right.
So this is the, you know, this is, he's been trying to telegraph, like, because the less, this is
the last one.
If I didn't send in the troops to Los Angeles, the last three nights, that once beautiful
and great city would be burning to the ground right now.
Much like the 25,000 houses burned to the ground in L.A. do, do.
I mean, he's invoking the fires we had here.
So, yeah, according to Trump, uh, the battle of Los Angeles.
Angeles has happened. And luckily he put down the insurrection. Also, these guys talking about
an insurrection is awfully funny. But again, if you try to get into the hypocrisy of it all,
you'll make yourself crazy. It was funny. I got to give a shout out to Mr. Mo Kelly on the radio
here. He was pointing out last night on his program that there were more injuries and even deaths
during the Super Bowl celebration. Which was never called a riot. I caused so many people
posting that like. Super Bowl celebration. People will flip cars and light them on fire.
Yeah. But that's not an insurrection. No, it's a celebration. They're celebrating the Super Bowl.

Yeah. Did you see this
the cop goes to Kava?
Let's play that clip.
It says Koppi goes to Kava.
I don't know why. But
I guess this woman who works at
Kava, uh, recognize the cop as a patron of her.
I kind of think they're doing a joke because I saw another one where they're like a guy saying,
didn't we go to middle school together or something?
Yeah, algebra.
I don't know, but these are protesters saying it here.
You go to Kava, nigger.
I'm fake, nigger.
I know you do, dog.
I'll spitting your plate.
I'll put my dick on your plate, nigger.
Fuck your family.
Fuck your kids, nigger.
That's all this.
I can't sleep comfortably because of you.
He'd be fucking getting a whole fucking plate.
He'd be fucking expecting us to give us a whole fucking shit.
shit, that nigga right there.
Do you go to Kaver?
Yeah, you do, nigga, stop playing.
Yeah, you do.
I like, I don't know your fucking face.
Stop fucking playing.
Fucking talking about, can I get a fucking discount?
Gonna get a fucking this.
Can I get a fucking that.
That nigga right there.
Point that shit out here, right there.
He doesn't look like he go to Kaver, though.
Yeah, that's.
He ain't going to know shit.
Hell nah.
He ain't going to that, Kaaba.
What's your favorite thing to order at Kaava?
Everything.
Everything.
Jesus Christ.
It is very funny, but I am
weary of more than
anything, everyone is filming
so much stuff and put it, like, cover your face,
stop.
There was a woman who posted,
or I forget who posted it, but it was on Reddit,
and it was basically like 10 minutes long
of them filming the,
you know, kind of breaking and then lighting on fire
of the Waymo's.
And I'm just like,
why?
Why are you putting this out there?
There's just people who are unmasked.
There's like, and it's also just, that's going to be cut and put all over Fox News.
Right.
That's part of the other thing.
I saw some, it's always interesting seeing these.
I can't tell if they're being intentionally opaque and disingenuous, but there was a video of a newer truck pulling up and doling out supplies, including like gas masks.
and it's like somebody's funding this
somebody's doing this we have to figure out who it's like
yeah it's called being well organized
that's what that's how like we saw it in um
it seems pretty uh i don't i don't know if it's like well
it seems like very just organic and like a spark
but there are also groups that that have donated fund
it harkens back to um god
the the protests in china was it china or hong Kong
where all the students and stuff
knew how to like
neutralized tear gas things
it's because people are like
educating each other and stuff
and that's what you see here
it's not George Soros being like
oh shit I gotta write another check
and get those fucking
yeah I guess just
saying it's well organized
makes it seem more like
I don't know like what Trump's talking about
where like you know
I'm going to these things
and like honestly I have not seen any
I see the stuff online
I'm like, where is that?
Because yesterday, I was, I was downtown.
I went to Grand Park.
There was a, this was before David Huerta was released, and it was the unions, a bunch of the unions in L.A.
were holding a big protest in Grand Park.
And it's, it's like a bunch of, like, so many, just like old ladies, like with the, you know, fuck Trump signs.
There's, yeah.
mean, I see people do it. Like, to me, I'm like, it's just people being very nice. There was a lot of
people who came, it was, it was hot. And there was a lot of people who came by those, those bags,
the kind of cooler bags, handing out cold Gatorade to people. And I'm like, I don't,
Soros funded Gatorade. Yeah. I'm like, I don't think that person's like some kind of, I think
they're just like a nice person. And I think people want this shit out of their communities.
and um so what do you i do have a question because with these kind of big movements there's
i think they're most successful when they have a cohesive like message slash demand and i'm
i've been trying to figure out what exactly it is is it no deportation without due process
or is it no deportations period what is it what do you think it's a leaderless movement i mean
I think when you're talking about successful movements, I think they often do have
leadership and that kind of thing.
I don't, there's no, this is not, that's the thing.
I don't, I don't think there's any organization around this.
I think this is, these are, these are people who are worried about their community members
and, and don't want to see more violence.
And they want, you know, the raids at schools and, and people who are just like being
black bagged, plainclothes, plainclothes officers without worn.
and stuff. They want all this
stuff to stop. I mean,
the people who are coming, trying to do the
right thing, coming to deportation hearings
and being snatched. And being tricked?
But there's no, there's no
like,
there hasn't, I haven't
seen one person who's like,
I'm the leader of this movement. It's not
really a movement. I think it's just a protest of
these activities
in our city.
Have you seen the things about
the, so there are undocumented
people going to court as they are required to do. They are following the rules as Trump says that
they should and stuff. And even then, they're getting fucked. But it's, it's, it's, it was really
confusing when I was reading about this because these immigration judges will move to dismiss the
case, right? And by dismissing the case, it's opening them up to get snatched and deported. And when they
hear like oh we're moving to dismiss the case are you cool with that they go oh fuck yeah great
it's getting dismissed i'm good and then they come to court and yeah get taken that i that was
really sure i mean that's another thing i mean there's so much people are fed up with you know
this kind of insane show of force the the um the el salvador like super prison stuff of like
gang marching people onto a plane and then we we got to see videos that
of these people being, uh, you know, held down and their, their head shaved and people talking
about how they, they got the wrong guys. And yeah, it's absolutely horrifying. It is worth noting
that that one guy did get sent back. Kilmar. I think that was his name. Yes. And,
but there was other people who got taken who were, who were still, claimed that they had
nothing to do with any of this stuff. Right. Tattoos were misinterpreted, all kinds of like,
was Kilmar the guy with the knuckle tattoos? That Trump thought the picture was real. Yeah. That, that he had, yeah.
God, it feels like ages ago.
But yeah, I mean, like the timing of this, I do think this is Trump maybe trying to, like, drum up his support again.
He's got, I think, although it can seem like we've had a rough go of it, I do think that there was, you know, he's kind of taking it on the chin a little bit publicly.
Like, the terrorist thing has been mostly a disaster, right?
And not only a disaster, like, out of the headlines, optics wise, but also.
that people like actually felt that right so any anyone can see prices go up anyone could see the headlines
of like Walmart any of these Amazon anyone else who tried to raise their prices and blame the
tariffs anyone who's a small business owner who was like Trump's going to be good for business
and then like all of a sudden is like Jesus Christ I don't know if we're going to even going
to be able to fulfill orders for Christmas because this tariff stuff is making our life hell
Anyone who was laid off because of any kind of downsizing efforts with the tariffs thing?
I mean, that's just like a very real thing. And now the very public split with him and Elon fully being called a pedophile.
Which Elon went on to delete a couple of those tweets, interestingly. I mean, it means nothing. But I think he was also losing on the immigration thing. Like the stuff we were just talking about, like the Seacott, El Salvador, all that stuff.
I think that's, you know, his bread and butter issue.
I mean, we have the pictures of the like mass deportations now.
And I think him controlling this narrative about the whole L.A. thing is, yeah, it might, it might be good for him, right?
If like people who have no idea what's going on on the ground, they now, you know, you get to sit at home wherever you are on the East Coast, the Midwest, wherever.
And you're like, wow, look, we almost lost Los Angeles.
Yeah.
Trump saved us.
And, you know, they get the pictures of the people waving Mexican flags and Waymo's on fire.
That's what's frustrating to me is like, and I'm not the only one calling it out.
But I mean, Gavin Newsom said it himself, if you're doing this kind of shit, you're playing into exactly what Trump wants and giving him all the ammunition necessary to ratchet things up.
I understand that in many cases it's a response to the violence brought on by ICE agents and by the.
the feds and by the cops, but still, like, that's where I just kind of go, oh, my God, don't.
Come on.
But that's every protest.
You do things completely, perfectly right, and they're still going to hang you.
I understand.
And so it's just like what-
That's why I'm saying.
Don't fucking, like, even just-
But what does it matter?
If you do everything right and they still hang you, like, what, you know, we can't control
what people are going to do, like waving some flags and whatever.
I guess.
I understand.
I'm just saying, I wish it weren't happening.
Not only that, pretty much every, like, senator who's calling out, like, the waving of the flags and whatever, every person has, like, gone and found a picture of their, like, office.
And, of course, there's, like, Israeli flags hanging or there's Ukrainian flags hanging or, like, right-wing people who love to hang a Confederate flag, an actual insurrectionist thing, government.
Oh, because they're like, oh, this isn't even about America.
I mean, just get off it.
There are people trying, I see on like TikTok, there was a Hispanic woman encouraging people, urging them to only wave American flags to drive home the point that this is about it's an American issue. I don't know.
But, I mean, there is no, this is not like an organized movement. It's just like.
I understand. Yeah.
The LAPD chief was asked, I was listening to the conference yesterday.
And I mean, this is another side effect of having a lot of need for police presence, because it went on well into the night last night, two nights ago for you guys.
He was asked if it makes it difficult to keep the city, quote unquote, safe when so many officers are deployed to one location.
And he said, yes, only calls of great importance, such as a crime of violence would actually get a response.
So that's just another thing of like, and I saw a video last night of this poor woman, another Hispanic woman, she's trying to make her way.
through the crowd in her car
and she gets stopped
and she gets out to plead with people
like, please let me through. I've got babies
in the car, my children. And some
dickhead just comes running up
from behind and like tries to body slam
himself on the back windshield. It's people
like those that fucking suck and
give the actual protest a bad name.
And I just, ugh.
I don't like it. No, sir, I don't like it.
Ben doesn't like it. Also, it's worth
pointing out, there are 900,000
undocumented
people who live in Los Angeles, which is 11% of the workforce, 9% of the population.
And it would be, it would take so long, so many resources to even make a dent in deporting
all of those people as they say they want to do. But it would also like people, I mean,
that was the thing on the campaign trail. It would collapse the economy. Yeah, that was the thing
on the campaign trail. People were saying, like, do you understand even what you're
calling for. Like, you're talking about, like, massive concentration camps of people to even
try to, like, deal with this. And then just the insane impact on the economy. But talking
about the, the, uh, using up the law enforcement resources. I have a, um, video that I just
sent you, Connor, if we can play. We were in Grant Park, Grand Park, sorry, and, uh, completely,
I mean, the most peaceful thing you could imagine. I mean, this is, uh, yeah, here, just back it up.
I took a video because I was like,
there's three helicopters here right now
just circling above us.
Hundreds of thousands of non-citizen
that live in our neighborhoods,
workers, community members.
That looks like news.
I mean, they're not even vote for their school board member
or their city council member or the mayor
because the Democratic Party wants to disenfranchised
enforcing taxation without government.
I mean, it's just, and this was a, I mean, there was,
I was walking around there.
also the the things
I wish there was more footage of what
actually so much of it constitutes
I mean you're seeing
people dancing and smiling
and yeah like being nice to each other
like I was thought because it was hot people bringing
down drinks and offering people water and all
this stuff there's a lot of really beautiful moments
but of course what you're going to see
is a couple of
you know very
knuckleheads incendiary acts
but then I mean
I mean, luckily, there is the footage, too, of, you know, there's, just like in so many protest movements, you see, there's never a problem, there's always peaceful protesters, and then the cop show up.
And, I mean, one of the most viral clips, I think we have it here is the Australian news reporter.
I mean, the cop clearly turns, yeah, looks, aims.
Hours of standing off this situation has now rapidly deteriorated, the LAPD, moving in on whole.
Fiering rubber bullets
Which are in the butt, too.
Moving them on through the heart of L.A.
Just,
Whoa.
You shot the crap.
You're okay?
Which is wild because now, that was LAPD.
And you had mentioned...
Oh, I mean, all of the stuff you're going to be seeing
is mostly LAPD.
The National Guard was not really in there.
You had just said that a big, because it's graduation season
and there's a lot of concern. Mayor Bass was talking about this.
And I believe LAPD, or maybe it was, what's the guy's name, Huerta?
David Huerta.
He was saying that they're going, I think working with local law enforcement to protect
graduations and ensure that they are going to be a safe place for families to attend without the fear of getting.
Who is LAPD?
Yeah.
Which is such a weird.
Well, I guess there's a difference between them doing crowd control.
I'm doing quotes.
I feel like graduation season's kind of over, no?
Usually like May.
Oh, no, I guess high schools and, yeah, that's just what they said on the radio yesterday.
Oh, UCLA also does a weird trimester thing, too, so they might have a later graduation.
This, although I saw this great tweet that really made it an impact on, well, not an impact, but this guy says,
an impossible problem that Democrats face is the fact that they pay the electoral penalty for actions by activists who openly hate Democrats.
do not vote for and do not support
Democrats, but whom the public still
associates with Democrats anyway.
I thought that that was very interesting.
Because it is. It's like
you can't, I don't
know. I thought that was...
What does that even matter? I mean, like, why don't they...
He's just saying that that's an impossible problem
that the Democrats face. Why don't they own this
moment and stand with people instead of
like being cowards about it and having to tiptoe everything?
Newsom is and Mayor Bass is, they are.
But if so if they're
going to be associated with it, just like own it and talk about it. It's not fun. I think that,
but the problem is that there are certain people out there who, you know what it reminds me of the,
like, what about the insurrectionists on January 6th? I know. It's, well, it's, it's, it's,
rules for me, not for the year, or rules for the and not for me kind of thing. No one was complaining
about like how that's attached to, if anything, that would, that ended up being a winner for them.
Because they're all brain dead hypocrites. And I love the, it's again, it's that guy who's on that
podcast with his son
who just... If I hear about this podcast
one more time... It's the perfect encapsulation
of what we're talking about. I honestly, I'm sorry to think this podcast does not
exist. You could point out so many things
and point out hypocrisy all day long. It doesn't matter.
I would imagine that guy's a Democrat saying it's unfair that
Democrats have to... Yeah, so that's not hypocrisy.
No, no, I'm saying it's hypocritical
of those people who don't mind the insurrection stuff.
it's it's it's it again it's what he says it's an impossible problem that democrats face
republicans do naughty shit they they do insurrections doesn't matter for their voter base
yeah because i think the republicans have been taken over by their like you know more populist
uh sure impulses and stuff and the democrats are still trying to be they also want to be the
law and order uh party i think and it doesn't really work when this is what the law and order thing
has become i think that
I certainly get the sense that it's just very easy for all of this to get pinned on being associated with the Democratic Party.
Do you not think that this is associated with the Democratic Party?
Like to the rest of the country?
The fact that it's happening...
Not really.
Really? It's happening in a blue city, in a blue state.
I think it's so easy.
That's what Trump is saying.
Like, this is exactly what's, look at what the Democrats are doing.
I guess Democrats, yeah, but the Democratic Party, no, because they're just like not a, but yeah, I get what you're saying.
Yeah.
And it's just like a, and that's not me criticizing the protests at all.
I just, man, do you know who did have something to say?
It was your, your guy, the suit, the clothing guy, Derek guy.
Dude, he got fucking.
He got raked over the coals.
Don't call my guy.
Why?
What's the matter?
You love that guy.
I don't love that guy.
Yeah, you do.
You were always like, I love when he talks about clothes.
Folks.
Oh, God.
What?
Did you disagree with what he said?
Or something?
I don't even,
I honestly didn't read his tweet.
I just saw everyone dunking on him.
I was like,
I don't.
So assonine to me.
It's,
I think Taylor Lorenz fucking did what she does where it's just like,
oh,
that guy turns out he sucks.
I do think the general sentiment was that people were annoyed that he was like
condemning the violence.
Yeah.
and I do I do find that annoying of like everyone like when something is going on
someone has to stand up and be like guys but wait a second we need to do this perfectly and
everyone like invoking MLK and all the stuff even though they killed his ass like sure just
like what are we doing I think that I think that people are taking it way too far when a guy's just
going hey I have a lived experience with this kind of thing my family escaped from be I did see
someone like quote tweeting his
his replies
and stuff where he was like
there's much better ways to go about this and he
recommended like going to
get a law degree to be an immigration lawyer
or whatever and everyone was like dude what are you talking
about? Well the other
thing is I mean it's just it goes
back to my problem with
a lot of these fucking people
like Taylor Lorenz
you have a problem with Taylor Lorenz?
Yes big time big time
especially after this
Because she was like, oh, this guy, sorry to break it to you. This guy's bad. It's like, you are not the arbiter of morality and ethics. And you, you, she is the most narcissistic. I honestly don't even see any of her stuff in my feed. That's okay. Well, I saw, I saw it with this. And it was just like, she's just so, she's so hell bent on being right. It's like, I definitely saw her do a thing on. That's the thing. That's the thing with,
with a lot of these people,
are you more concerned
about being right
or about winning?
Because there's a huge
fucking difference.
There is a massive gulf
between those things.
I saw her do a thing on,
she reply tweeted to
like Zoron on the subway,
like being like,
love you,
but please wear a mask
on the subway or whatever.
That kind of thing is exactly what I'm talking about.
That's like the only thing
I've seen from her.
It is the moral grandstanding
on every single thing.
And this guy
who's otherwise like,
I don't know,
loved a month.
online. But this is also Twitter and like it's totally fine to get clowned on Twitter for like a bad
take. I guess. It's not like they like march this guy into the square and shot him. But we live in,
I understand what you're saying. But we also so much political discourse takes place online.
And it contributes to the, it contributes to. Yeah, this is why I didn't read it because look how long
it is and I just like, I don't fucking care. But like that's the thing. This is not like, there's,
So there's, to everyone who's, like, willing to, like, go out and protest and all, I don't care what, like, it's funny when he, you know, says J.D. Vance looks fat in his suit or whatever, but, like. He's not, he's talking about the people like those people last night who were jumping on this woman's caught. I just don't think it's consequential to what's going on. Sure. And if he gets dunked on by someone, it's just like. I understand. But I'm, I'm talking about, it's very easy to be dismissive of these things. And I understand because on its face, it's just, like,
like what's the big deal it's Twitter it contributes little by little over years and this is how
we get to where we are we've got back down in this conversation on this show and off the show i think
we both have different opinions on how much rhetoric on line matters is antithetic she claims to be a
progressive but is so antithetical to any real progress by insisting on being right all the time
on everything and tearing down other people who do not live up to her impossible standards that it's just
like fucking shut up.
You got to implement a mute button, my man, every once in a while.
I do. I don't, I honestly, I don't
like, I don't know how much
sway she has with it. I see
so, I like see a lot of
leftist stuff on my feet and I rarely
see her. Right. Like the last thing I saw
was someone dunking on her for doing the like, love you,
but please wear a mask thing. Because she's exactly
the type of person that gives so much
ammunition to the right. By being this
abrasive and this impossible.
Another thing, real fast, this Derek guy was talking about how his family escaped Vietnam during the Vietnam War.
And people are making this fucking, they're going, they're all fucking railing on him going, oh, so he's also bad because his family escaped, which means they were probably privileged enough to be able to afford to escape and all this fucking nonsense.
It's rhetoric, like you said.
No, but this honestly feels way more harmful to anything than like whatever those people are saying, because you're like wasting your business.
breath like policing then and it's like this like self reinforcing cycle of like no we need to
spend our time with this when like your time could be so much better spent focusing on like how
these people are lying about you know what's going on on the ground here sure these things are not
true but now we're spending all this time going like and then taylor loren said i hear what you're
saying that's not what i'm doing i'm pointing out that the discourse is important yeah i agree that's why
it's important to like be calling out the right wing bullshit and right yeah i understand and in doing so
you can also point out the very ineffective and uh really impossible shit coming from our own side
that is really really really really counterproductive where everybody's got the like taylor lorenz
just like shut the fuck up you don't need to be hello lorenz that is not an endorsement from the
ben and emil show he thinks she should shut the fuck up i mean i think i meant her
one time. She was very lovely. I think you're a very lovely person. You can continue to do whatever
you want. I think that she needs to have a major reckoning with her own ego, which is clearly
so massive. It's like unstoppable at this point. And I saw that and I just was like, my God,
shut the fuck up. There was so many other people doing it too, though. I know. That's the only one
that I saw. For what little time I spent online this weekend. That's what little I saw. And I couldn't believe it.
Are you sure? Are you sure it like started with her? Because there was so much.
That was one of the main ones that I saw, yeah.
It was one of the main ones, but you don't know if it started with her.
I have no idea if it started with her.
But there were just a bunch of people going, oh, the men's workwear guy is apparently anti-violence.
What a fuck. Get him, everybody. It's like, God, you guys are doing.
Anyway.
I think we just have wear of different minds about this. I don't think it's very useful to, like, police the protesters and do all this thing.
I don't think he was policing. I think he was making a very valid good.
point that like that it's yes we all wish we could have perfect protests and everything could be
perfect but it's not and like you can't control it and like right condemning all this stuff is just like
not uh let's just play the newsome clip that that tick to talk that you just had donald trump is
threatening to defund california but it's econ one-on-one california is a donor state we provide
over 80 billion dollars more in tax revenue to the federal government than the federal government
provides the people of the state of California.
We help pay federal bills.
So if Donald Trump's going to continue to threaten 40 million Americans that live in California,
maybe we should consider withholding those resources.
I think if you actually click that one right up in the top right, that one over there.
I think that's actually the clip.
He did not rule out, literally arresting you nor Mayor Bass if you interfere in his words.
He said you hadn't yet.
He's a tough guy.
Why doesn't he do that?
He knows where to find me.
but you know what let your hands off four-year-old girls that are trying to get educated
your hands off these poor people are just trying to get live their lives man trying to live
their lives paying their taxes been here 10 years the fear the horror the hell is this guy
come after me arrest me let's just get it over with tough guy you know I don't give a damn
but I care about my community I care about this community the hell are they doing these guys
need to grow up, they need to stop, and we need to push back. And I'm sorry to be so clear, but
that kind of blowviating is exhausting. So Tom, arrest me. Let's go. I like the Kyron that says
this is a manufactured crisis, because it 100% is. And it's them being intentionally agitating
and knowing that they're going to get the response that they get, knowing that there's going to
be fucking, like last night, there was more shit going on downtown. People who have
nothing to do with the protest who are going out and like causing a ruckus because then it gives
fucking Trump the ammunition. Yeah, I do think Trump currently is unfortunately coming out of this
looking good. I think he like, I think, I don't know, just like based off the amount of like
texts I've gotten from people being like, is everything okay? Like, do you need to leave L.A.?
And yeah, the way he's like defining this narrative of like he, you know, he stormed L.A. and
saved us from near collapse and some kind of some kind of takeover. I mean, who knows,
though? Like, what is it? 700 Marines that have been ordered down here. From 29 poems, yeah.
If things, I mean, I obviously hope things don't escalate. It obviously, you know,
it could end horribly with someone, God forbid, dying or something like that, with the,
trigger happy
that's what I worry about is yes
and then I think I think if it got
crazier
I think whoever wins is the one who can make
the other side look crazier right
if you're if you're Trump right now
he's making he's making
people who are like against ice raids
and like these mass deportations look crazy right now
and if it's to turn and go the other way
and now all of a sudden you're seeing
some young Marine
get nervous
in the face of his face
first protest and fire off
some live rounds and now all of a sudden there's
dead kids on the street
I hope to God that they don't even have
live rounds
they fucking better not
I'm gonna have to come down there and steal a tank
go down there and steal a tank
someone someone pointed out
that Newsom is aura farming
he's definitely like having a
you know he's having arrest me arrest me
I bet you can't you fucking
coward. I do think he'll... Come down here and take me. I dare you. And they're like,
why don't you keep your hands off? Four year old girls. Keep your hands off of them.
It is, it is unfortunate because he's having a... Oh, it's huge for him. He loves it. I know. He loves
it. It would honestly be so good for him if he got arrested because nothing would actually
happened to him. He'd get out in like eight hours or whatever. And then he'd be, I mean,
the DNC would be printing.
and wasn't wasn't didn't someone actually get hurt and in killed someone was like
trying to stop yeah i think on saturday a protester was trying to like get in front of a car
and they lost their footing and fell back killed a guy well the person fell back and hit their
head and i don't know if it was confirmed but it said oh they went and suffered brain death
or something like that and then all these fucking assholes are going hook around and find out
I haven't
They love to be against
I haven't seen
Okay
Maybe it was a misreporting
I hope
But uh
I mean that's the other
There is so much
There's so much fake shit
I mean the weird like pallet of bricks
That's just like
That was a weird image
From a website of
Like a Malaysian brickmaker
Or something like that
Oh where they again are like Soros's fucking
Right exactly
How come every time
there's always just like bricks piled up.
And it's like there's not bricks piled up.
I mean, if you're in L.A., like I encourage you to come down to some of these things and see for yourself.
And so you can report back to whoever and tell them that it's just not the case.
Also there's, on the other side, there's people talking about how bad it's been.
I saw people talking about that like ICE is doing checkpoints in L.A.
and, like, if you want to drive through, they're checking your IDs and stuff.
And even for a second, I was like, wow, holy shit, I cannot believe we've gotten here.
And then they said where it was.
And I was like, but that's really close to my house.
I drive by that.
There's no checkpoint there.
There's, I mean, I hope that that's.
I don't know if they're not doing that, but, like, it's not where they said it was.
I hope that that's not in the cards, because I could see them doing that kind of shit.
But also, yeah, I just.
There's no way.
There's no.
I mean, obviously, like, I mean, yes.
things can get very crazy but well because now they've got uh so this week is i think it's this
weekend the trump is having a military parade celebrating the army's 250th birthday isn't it on the 14th
yeah the 250th birthday of the army and the 79th birthday uh of trump talk about an age gap
relationship um they they said that they're going to have thank you connor they said that they're
going to they're expecting 200 000 people in attendance they're going to have drones
they're going to have
Magneto something.
Magneto's coming?
Magneto's coming?
Well, they better keep all that military equipment away from him.
They're like magneto.
He can crunch that stuff.
Magneto meters, which...
Magneto and the meters.
The meters are going to be playing live.
And there's, there's, they're going to have 18 miles of anti-scale fess fencing.
And fucking Trump today said there better not be any, they're better.
He said there better not be any protests or they're going to feel like pain like they've
never felt before or some shit. Hey, if you spit, we will hit. I just, I'm like, I mean,
that's the other thing. He's like, where's the NRA? He wants, that's the fucking, that's the shit that
they're like. Oh, you want to call that on the NRA. What would it take for the NRA? You would think that
COVID would have been enough because their whole thing is, uh, what's the word? Ben is denouncing Taylor
Lorenz and calling on the NRA to rise. There. Taylor Lorenz stand down. We need the NRA. We need the
NRA. What is the thing that they claim to be against
the NRA? People taking their guns? No, no, but like the government, when it's the
government doing... Overreach? Yeah, there's a word
for it. A strong proponent
of fucking God damn it, man. I don't know. They're against the
government being not fascists, but the other word.
No!
But they're... Hey, here's your government.
doing the shit that you claim to be against. Go, go. Take to the streets, baby. We got a battle
to do. The government's doing the thing that you say you're against. Get out there. Cock those
guns. Load up those shotties. Shouty. Ben's assembling a team. I'm assembling a team of
idiots. The menswear guy, a bunch of NRA guys. It's me. The menswear guy and a bunch of
a soldier, I want all the stolen valor guys, because that's, that's one, you want someone who can
really play the part, stolen valor guys. Those chubby guys in the mall who love to go in full
fatigue, yeah. Oh, I mean, there's been some guys who, you know, because they're always so, you know,
they're always rocking their masks and stuff now and doing these things in plain clothes, there have been
some, I don't know what you call them, imposters who kind of go into workplaces in their, you
know cargo pants and a polo and a mask saying they're with ice or whatever that's what's scary
is like it and when i don't think people especially on the other side who think that this is
all fine or whatever that means that anybody it they could be anybody it's literally kidnapping
if they're unmarked they're unidentified not showing war who's to say who the fuck that is man
yeah you stupid fucking guy man stupid guy man stupid guy man well um there's also this no king's rally i just hope
nothing happens this weekend i really do i really hope i hope trump has a happy birthday and i hope
the army has a happy birthday wait so what does that make him like nothing bad happens does that mean
Trump's a cancer? What a toxic
queen.
They're saying my natal
Chinese. What is he? Oh, Gemini.
He's a Gemini. Wow.
Wow.
Toxic. Yo-soi Toxica.
Oh, you've seen those bumper stickers? I love those.
Yeah. Trump has one on his
on Air Force one. Yeah.
It's a big one.
Yozoi Toxica.
Oh, man.
Yeah. I mean. I hope he comes out.
in a cool military uniform at his birthday.
Wow, the art of charts.
My friend screenshotsed my thing.
What's that app that all the girlies were on a while ago?
Postar.
Yeah.
She's friends with me on there,
even though I don't use it and haven't had it for years.
And it said,
she screenshot it and it said,
Ben Con is, like, very scared today.
She sent that to me.
He saw Taylor Lorenz tweet.
She said that to me on, like, Sunday,
which is, yeah, I saw it.
and I was petrified for the future, dang.
Well, yeah, I predict that this will all...
By Thursday, do you think this is all going to be over?
I hope it will cool down.
I hope that it'll...
I imagine, I mean, that's the, you know, it seems like...
It seems like it was all over before we even knew...
I mean, of course, there's still things going on, but it's on such a smaller scale.
Um, you know, I hope people continue to show up and peacefully protest.
I'm going to be, uh, looking to go down to things and, uh, how do you get down there?
You don't drive, right?
I'll park somewhere far away and walk in. Um, I like getting, uh, I like hanging out
with the old ladies, uh, you know, they always got, they always bring extra signs. I never know
what sign to bring, you know, I was thinking of, uh, I was going to, I was going to make a sign
that said, um, I have a bad back. Don't push me to the ground.
You know, National Guard, please, my back is all messed up.
But there's always, if you don't have a sign, there's always a nice lady who printed extras that say, you know, fuck the fascist USA or whatever.
I liked what Kyla Scanlan, friend of the show, Kyla Scanlan, had to say about the contrast between the images of what's going on here in Los Angeles and WWDC, which is the Apple event with.
all their stupid
just inconsequential
tech updates that look
so bad and it's
just this weird
dystopian
thing and she also really
I'm sorry I didn't see it can you explain it
she was just talking about how jarring
it is to see these two
things happening in the news
at the same time just the things happening at the same time
yeah and just like oh god
and also she today was posting
about how immigration is
is a core part of the American story.
It is famously a nation of immigrants.
It's on the Statue of Liberty.
Give me your tired, poor, hungry masses, huddled masses, et cetera.
Sure, everyone in this room came here from another place.
Not me.
I'm indigenous.
I was born.
But yeah, have you seen someone pointed out, have you ever seen that the like famous
Adam Curtis documentary hyper normalization?
Yes.
Based on the, you know, the.
I think it's a phrase from post-Soviet collapse.
Highly recommend folks.
Basically, but someone, maybe in a, maybe in like a TikTok, but then it like kicked off
some articles of like that thing you're feeling is hyper-normalization.
I mean, that's exactly what you're talking about.
Like institutions failing all around you, but then this need to kind of carry on as if
everything is normal.
So like, you know, we, well, the WWC, you know, must go on.
we must announce
what is it
their new iOS
like looking glass
or whatever
some piece of shit
no one cares about
yeah
meanwhile just yeah
everything around you
is is um
is collapsing
yeah
um
but yeah
yeah man this
um
everyone knew it was fake
but because no one had
any alternative vision
for a different kind of society
they just accepted
this sense of total fakeness as normal
and this historian
Alexei Yorkchak
coined the phrase
hyper normalization
to describe that feeling
Oh, yeah, yeah, it is.
Soviet.
Yeah.
Because after the collapse, everything was bad, but on TV, they were saying, everything's great.
Well, everything's crumbling around you, but you just have no choice.
But to, you know, put your chin up and continue to act like everything's normal, even though
everything is, you know, very not normal.
And we're now witnessing a lot of our institutions be disassembled and dismantled or
or fully just exploded.
in a horrifying way.
I just love the hypocrisy from those.
I also want to point out because we did forget to say it.
Like many people have pointed out this ICE project.
Yes, everyone wants to lay this at Trump's feet,
but this is a bipartisan project.
And people have been screaming about this for so long
and protesting the expansion of these budgets
and all of this stuff and giving more and more money
to these like horrific things.
So, like, this is not just a, you know, we got to get rid of Trump, which we do got to get rid of Trump, but like, America's going to take a long look in the mirror, man. It's a fucking, this is not just some kind of like runaway MAGA project. He's exacerbating all these issues, but like this is, this is, unfortunately, the, the product of decades of horrific.
policy decisions.
Yeah.
I just, I keep thinking about the guys who are pro-freedom and anti-government.
I still am totally losing the word here.
But they're at the same time openly mocking and cheering for the cops to, like, beat on
and detain people.
It's like, that's...
Oh, dude, not only that,
the states rights people.
These are fucking states rights people.
Oh, yeah.
States rights, unless it's fucking California
or any other blue state.
States rights.
Stay the fuck out of our lives.
Like, states rights.
Okay, the governor says
the governor, the mayor,
everyone says,
we got it under control.
Too bad.
Daddy Trump has to roll in.
States rights.
Yeah.
I hope...
But of course,
if you get wrapped up in that pocket,
you'll make yourself crazy
well folks
we got a bagging bonus episode
for you
we're gonna talk about
what is the cheese roll guy
oh I remember the cheese roll guy
Taylor buys back her shit
you know Miles we're gonna have some
he's gonna be talking about Taylor
lensing
no no Taylor a different Taylor
Taylor Swift
who bought back her shit
we're gonna talk about that
yeah I just thought that
that was kind of cool
and wild that she had to buy
back all her things. So I guess we've already
talked about it. We got a
new, you know, Miles track
to talk about. Who? And
I don't know, maybe some love life updates.
I don't know. I haven't decided yet.
You have a love life update? I don't know. Maybe.
I'm pregnant.
Ooh! That's what I was
waiting for. The glasses.
Wait, is there really a love life update?
You have a girlfriend?
No. No.
No. Skip.
Uh, yeah.
Hang on.
Stonefruit season.
All sorts of stuff.
So Ben and Emile Show did come.
How could you have a love life update?
See you in the bonus.
I saw you like two days ago.
And we fade out from here.
Coming up on this week's episode of Ben and Emile show.com.
Dude, did you see this?
Yeah, you got it from sexy, sexy time.
No, that's what you said.
You know what I think it might be from?
Which I didn't agree with that.
I said, don't call it sexy sexy time.
I think it's from...
Amiel, I,
have news and I go what? And he goes, sexy, sexy time. None of that is true, folks. And he's
got a little, he's got a little zibia. And he goes, I'm treating myself because I had a little
sexy, sexy time. This is what we need is we need to have Ben Con American Idol where you just get
it's like, fucked up people. It's like, are you a bad singer? Are you mentally unwell? Yeah.
Get on come on my show. Come to Hollywood. The winner gets to live with me and be under my observation.
yeah you're a spengali for like uh like horrible delusional people and i was like god i can't get
the fruit of this i know that i know and she was like yeah classic clingstone because it's a clingsstone
and now like everywhere we go i'm so annoying like at the farmer's market i was like and you know
if these are clingstone and he was like yeah or like if these are freestone he's like
freestones are going to be coming in a couple weeks i'm like great great great i love a freestown
and she's like you're so annoying but you know your shit and you're signaling to the farmer that
you know your shit
And the rest of the patrons, like, wow, this guy is, this guy's a stone fruit.
I didn't even know.
What the fuck is a stone stone?
Yeah, I didn't even know that was the thing.
