Limited time offer nationwide based on sportsbook predictions and free-to-play sportscontest availability varies by state. This is a podcast called 25 whistles talking football and they all wear a whistle. Yeah, it's stupid. But why did you expect? It's a podcast called 25 whistle.Go aheadWhat do you want to talk about? You just want to rip the band-aid off and get this over with?Yeah. We suck.
04:08We suck, dude.Cowboys suck this year again. It's so bad. That can't happen. It can't happen because you can't be the reason we lose much money again.Oh, I'm not, dude, forget, whatever. The skins thing is the last thing I'm worried about. It's not going to be when you owe thousands of dollars.
04:22I agree.True.I agree with that. That's later on.Right now, after the first week of the NFL,The only thing I'm upset with is the Cowboys just were terrible.I did not expect that to happen last night.I really felt like easy.
04:37Bid in the trip.Go up.Get a dub.Come home.Take care of biz.And then the one thing, the one thing that I thought that we improved so much in the offseason. And everyone talked about it.The pieces they're put together.
04:53They finally figured out their defense.dude, the defenselooked like they had neverplayed football before.I mean, they were playing checkerswhile the New York offense was playing chess.Do we all have bad weekswith our own favorite personal teams?
05:10It was awful for all of us, all around.Except for I guess Mike would.Ended up great.Oh, Mike's was good.Shut up, yeah.Shut up.Yeah, dude, it was bad.I mean, what did you think?
05:20You watched, what do you think?I had a whole thing I was going to do todayonce Cowboys won.Oh, no, you had it planned.Yeah, because, first of all, before the game,I put a pretty big future on the Cowboys to win the Super Bowlthat pays, if they win the Super Bowl, I went $13,000.This is a pretty big future.
05:42I thought this is the year. Not only that, in our Skins League, we need them, they're our second overall pick. He's like, how about them Cowboys? And so I'm in on the Cowboys in every way.And I was at, I'm just going to go and pull it up,I was at this, like, antique store. And they had this.
06:02Oh, you got some in a bag.Yeah, and I was going to wear it.It's like, oh!It's so cool.Dang, dude. It's this white cowboy hat with the cowboy star on the front of it.You know what, though? That's all flashy.
06:20Look at that thing shine. It's glittery, dude.I look like that mascot, that big dopey one.Oh, yeah.Because I look like that person anyway.Routy.Yeah, you do. Routy. So, I was going to come on.
06:29Oh, my God.and whatever we say.How about them cowboys? And I can't wear this hat if they didn't win.I mean, can?I think you still can.No, this is only the winning hat.Maybe you, okay, so when they win, you put the hat on, you do the whole show with a hat on?
06:45Or you can do it the whole show with the hat on.No, no, I want you.Dude, I think it's better if you wear that thing. Why?Because if the cowboys win, which I'm thinking we're not going to win very much,if we do win, it's a celebration and we must celebrate it to the fullest. But here's the problem with you.is that one week does not run a season
07:04and last week you thought you were winning the Super Bowland one week has happened and now you've already quit them fullyyou said we're not going to win very muchnot we're going to get betterlike you go from such hot and coldyou're right there is some work that I have to do as a Cowboys fanlike I've already told myself this morning when I woke upbecause I don't think I slept well I didn't know I didn't sleep well
07:22but I woke up this morning feeling like somebody had diedand then I had to remind myselfI know but then I woke up and realizedlike, oh my gosh, I'm still upset about that stupid game.I understand that.Honestly, I woke up, what was it, Thursday? It was a long time ago now. After the Patriots lost on Wednesday, and I'm like, what the heck?
07:39Why am I so sad this morning?Oh, yeah. And then I need to apologize to my kids because last night I just went upstairs before the gamewas over.I said, make sure all this stuff's clean down here. And they're just like, wow, dad's in a bad mood.So I have to apologize. And they did clean the house very nicely.
07:54Because we had chips and cake and everything out.Cake?Yeah, little cupcakes. It was week one.My son baked cookies.Party.Week one party?Tips and dips.
08:04We had the whole thing. And then I walked upstairs and we're like, make sure all this stuff's clean before the morning.Good night.I can't believe they lost. And then I can't believe it was really never that close. It ended up being a touchdown, but.It didn't matter.
08:18Once he got the penalty for taunting and then they missed the extra point. That was stupid.A lot of things had to happen.Or the extra point? Both.I mean, the taunting was what caused him to move back.and then Aubrey missed the extra point.Right.
08:31The toning is pretty dumb, right? So dumb. But that touchdown is what had Kevin beat me in fantasy, though, once he hit that touchdown.Oh, he beat you? He's going to.No.Yeah, that...I haven't looked because I swear.
08:41No, I was winning the whole day, but that touchdown is what pulled it up.Now, you're like 80% of 20.What?Mm-hmm.I haven't even looked today because halfway through yesterday, I was like...Yeah, it was over. After Jamar Chase did nothing, I was like, I'm done.It was over.
08:54Football is too...It's too much.7129 in your favorite. What the heck?Mm-hmm.That's funny. The thing is, I'm involved in so much.I don't even care about fantasy that much.
09:03That's what I'm saying.Football is so stupid.Like, I'm upset about the cowboys.I'm not upset.I'm just saying now fantasy used to be the one way to keep you in, but now that you can bet.I know.Yeah.Fantasy was the way that would keep you caring about things as much.
09:15Right.And it's still fun.But like I used to like wake up and like, oh, God, check my line.Like, I almost forgot.I know. Also, we have kids and stuff. And that's the thing.Like my fantasy, I'm in two teams.
09:27I won both. And, like, I did really well in fantasy, but I don't care because I lost bets, the Stupid Skins League, and the Cowboys lost.Wait, reminder on the Skin League, I was trying to think of it yesterday. We're out $400 after the first week.Okay, there we go.Okay, there you go.I know, but I chose to get out.
09:43Did I say we?Yeah, you said we're not in it.There you go.That's better, right?Okay. The Ravens to win, Colts to lose, which they played each other. And obviously it worked out perfect.Jacksonville to win.
09:54Jacksonville to win.Browns to lose. They played each other.Perfect.Yep.So the only one that really ruined it was...Well, Pittsburgh won because they beat Atlanta's...Good try, Kevin.
10:03But yeah, the Cowboys would have won.It had been awesome. But that was like a second one pick.Yeah, we're up.That'd have been great. That'd have been great.Ediths, I thought it's all Jay Cutler at the grocery store. No, no, no.
10:12I saw Jay Cutler at the grocery store. It was funny because I walked in the grocery store and I see a guy who's kind of talland I'm like, oh my gosh, that looks like Brett Eldridge. You know, Brett Eldridge country singer.Tall, kind of like good hair.I get closer. That's not Brett Eldridge. That's Jay freaking Cutler.
10:27shopping by himself at the grocery store.Dude still looks good in shape.I mean, he looks like he's 27.The dude does not look old at all.You didn't say anything? No, no.Did you want to?I mean, what would you have said?
10:42Let's go back in time.Jay, what up, dude?Just give him a high five and move on.A high five?A high five. You know like, Jay.What's up, dude?Good to see you, man.
10:51I saw the bustling with the boys, talk to them for a little bit.Really?Yeah.Where'd you see them? We're flying out Friday at the airport going to Mount Pine. They were going to do some ESPN stuff. They were there.
11:04I was there.I walked in.And I don't know who saw who, but we just started talking. And I was like, man, congratulations on everything. And then one of them was like, we need to collab. And I was like, probably not.But I'm rooting for you guys. And they got a laughing.
11:17What I walked on.Yeah, that's not me and Jay Cutler's thing.Oh.We didn't even see me.We need to collab, Jay.Hey, aisle nine.Did you tell, who's it, is it Luan about the, did you tell him there then?Yeah.
11:30What do you say?He was like, that's funny.Wait, he's massive.Missing something?Yeah, they gave me his car accidentally.What?Really?Mm-hmm.
11:39I drove it off and then it was a valet and then I can't, I was like, this isn't my car.It was a rental that I had.Oh.And so I wasn't super familiar with it anyway, but I valet a rental and I got in, they gave me the car and I realized it was, it was one.And I drove it back.I was like, they were like, oh, sorry. And they gave me the same car, same kind of car.Yeah.
11:56Isn't that funny, Kevin? What the heck? Was the seat all the way back?Oh, I guess it's a valet driver driving it.Yeah, probably.Never mind.Because Luan's super tall. That's what you just said to you, right?
12:04Mike, right?Yeah, he's like six, seven.I didn't know he'd be that tall.Wow.He's in boots and a hat.Huge.Yeah, talk to them for a little bit.That's cool.
12:11We're both on our way.Wasn't Jay Cutler.Dang.You should ask Jay, like, because he lives here.Uh-huh.Right?What's up, dude?Well, the first thing that comes in my mind
12:22every time I see somebody out maybe is like,I wonder if they'd come on the podcast. That'd have been interesting.Literally the first thing that always possibly. That'd have been a nice thing to do as a member of this show. That somebody at a grocery store would be wanted, would want to get pitched to get on a podcast?Well, where else are you going to pitch them?Email.
12:39How are you going to email them?Jay Cutler at AOL.com.Exactly.You don't have an answer.I don't know.I just feel like the grocery store's not the place to do that.Hey, Jay, oh, you like that rice?Me too.
12:50Do you like doing a podcast?Me too.You know, they're selling the bunny.ranch? No way.Unless you're going to use it for that, kind of a weird place to have. You can't really have a bank there.Where is it? Is it like in between Vegas and Reno or something that's kind of...
13:07I think it's right outside of Carson City, which is the capital.Okay.It's always, every time I've seen any kind of pictures of it, it just seems like it's in themiddle of nowhere. The middle of the desert. The Moonlight Bunny Ranch Legacy portfolio is now available for purchase, assuming someonehas $34 million to make the deal.Wow.
13:24The property is being sold by the estate of Dennis Hoff.He was the guy that was the guy, right? He's the owner. It includes three infamous cat houses and a sprawling footprint of desert real estatelocated just outside of Carson City, along with warehouses, residential property, storage facilities, and developmental parcels.Yeah.Wow.Is that where Lamar Odom was?
13:43New York Post.Yeah.I believe so, yeah.Dang.That's just a weird property to have if you're not using it for, or you almost have to melt it completely.Yeah.You can't just, like, change the paintings inside one of the cat houses and be like, this is now where we have meetings.Office space.
14:03Yeah.And there's not enough sage that you can have throughout the house to get rid of those demons. So, Eddie, bad room with the Cowboys. That's terrible.I brought the hat and everything. It is week one, you know?I mean, it is week one.Yeah.
14:17It's only week one.Who do they play next week? Will they play the commanders at home?Okay.Commanders didn't look bad either. You know, they played well against the Eagles. So I don't know, dude. We'll see.
14:27We'll play by ear.I'm not happy.I'm just not happy.With what I saw, I'm not happybecause that's just not what I expected to see week one.Mike, you're a Cowboys fan.I think we'll be fine.Eddie's overreacting.
14:40It's one game.Maybe the Giants are good.Maybe the Giants are good.Maybe the Giants are good.Man, they just kept running the ball.It was time of possession like crazy.Scada bow just run, run, run.I was telling Kevin, the Giants ran the whole third quarter.
14:53Yeah.It was one drive.Yeah, the Cowboys had one drive and a touchdown, but they're like four minutes of possessionand the Giants had like 13.Yeah, crazy, man. That's so worse as a fan. They were like, Dax Anse.We don't normally see him Ancy and then maybe it was called to where it goes, yeah, well,
15:08he hadn't been on the field but for one drive. He really had.I'd be Ancy too.Mike, you wanted to do your Texas game?Yeah, I went from wanting to throw up to wanting to run down the street naked. What a game. What a game.So that game started in Ohio State.
15:22It was just whooping the crap out of them. And so I'm at Brooks and Dunn.I'm watching that game on my phone. And I don't like Ohio State.I don't like the Big Ten.I hate Texas.I like Archmanning.I got a lot of conflicting thoughts and emotions.
15:34And the game's over.So the Arkansas game was starting. So I flipped it over to the Arkansas game. And they went to commercial.I just flipped it back to Texas like 15 minutes later or whatever. And Texas had made it again.Like what just happened?I missed all of that.
15:48I saw the end of it.I mean, starting with the two turnovers, the fumble, the crazy interception.reception. It was like, what is happening in this game?It was all in the fourth quarter.Yeah, I missed all of that. And so, big win.Yeah, that's crazy. I think my biggest takeaway is that Sark's not here to F around this season.Like, he was ballsy going for it on fourth down. And then even at the end where he like refused to do the interview, like I think he's all in the season.Did they miss a field goal, Ohio State?
16:14Yeah, to like make it two possessions.Yeah.Like I saw that that's when I started watching the game again.Because if they hit that.It would have been done.Yeah.Yeah, the fourth down to Mike's Point 2, like, every time they went for it, was like, oh, here we go.And there was like five of them.
16:28Like in our own territory going for it on fourth down, it was crazy. If you were an Oklahoma fan, which my family is, it was a miserable day for you for multiple reasons.Number one was that they lost to Michigan.Yeah.Which was crazy.I did not see that coming. But they lost 1710 to Michigan. No cheating.
16:45Maren Square. All the time was allotted for?As of now.As of now.So didn't expect that, but that's a bad loss for them.them, but then Oklahoma State beats Oregon.Yeah, that's crazy. And when they lose and Oklahoma State wins a big game, that makesthe day even more miserable. And Oregon had a chance to win that game, right? At the end?
17:04I mean, multiple. Well, they lost by eight, but Oklahoma State was pretty much manninghandling them all game. They really were. Yeah. And they had a, like a 21 game losingstreet. Yeah, against FBS teams. Yeah. Yep. Crazy. That's the craziest game ofweekend. You don't think Texas was kind of crazy?Crazy game of the weekend? No, because they were, I think they were the favorite. They were the favorite.
17:31I have a point of half.I mean, mid-game, that game got crazy because of a comeback, but just the result, that'sthe craziest.Like, they had it won in two seasons, basically.Yeah, and 24-point underdogs. But that kid from North Texas, which is a Mestemaker, that quarterback, he's prettydang good.Yeah, he looked really good a week before he didn't.
17:50That's what's crazy. That's what's crazy. And we'll talk to John Talti coming up in a little bitand go through a bunch of football, a bunch of SEC stuff. So if you're an Oklahoma fan, you lost to Michigan, which sucks.Oklahoma State beats Oregon, that sucks.Texas ends up winning. That sucks because that's everything that you hate.
18:06Dang.They're the worst weekends.Yeah, when everything goes wrong.Yeah, your team loses and all the teams you hate win.And then Oklahoma people, don't they like the Cowboys too?Do some.Sure.But they're not.
18:18Neighboring state.Okay, but that probably was terrible icing on the cake.I don't think that's a general.rule for Oklahoma. Like Arkansas, you can say that's a pretty general rule, but not Oklahoma, really. All right. I did not hit a single bet. Really? I made eight or nine bets and missed everybet. That's terrible. Everything's red. I hate that, dude. I didn't hit a single bet. Were any of themclose, at least? I don't know. Do you go back? Do you do parlay? Is that what? I did ourparlay. Okay. And that one was two wins and a loss.
18:51Oh, yeah. You know which one lost? The Oklahoma, Michigan one.Dude, I had an NFL parlay.I had multiple parlayes that were won away. And I told you guys last week, new year knew me, I'm going to cash out.I didn't cash out.And I was one away, and I missed them all.
19:09One big one was a seven touchdown parlay from all the NFL running backs.Like I did Jimere Gibbs.I did Swift.I did Derek Henry.I had all the running backs except.James Cook.He was the only one.I'm like, oh, for sure.
19:25And they offered me, like, it was, I think the payout was $180, and it was a $2 bet.And they offered me like $40.Didn't take it.That was a shootout, too, that game.It was. That's fun.NFL was fun yesterday. It really was.
19:39The first run, the second round of games was like three games. And like, who cared?Yeah. The three o'clock ones?Yeah. It was like a bad three o'clock batch. But they had a bunch of games leading up to it because they had a big game on Wednesday.Big game on Thursday
19:52There's a big game on MondaySo they crammed that noon slateFor central time zonesThat was a really good bed3 o'clock and we ended up going to the storeYeah I thinkBut I mean theThe Packers and the Vikings ended up being a pretty good game
20:05The Vikings came back and won itIt gets hurtLike first playYeah I got a freaking concussion first playYeahSo how did he go fromDid you guys see the injuryLike how did he go from grabbing his knee to
20:17Concussion?I think he was like knocked outOh so he just did thatMaybe he was so knocked out, he didn't know what to grab. That's what I thought. It was like it hit the fencing pose a little bit.Yeah.Oh, is that what it was?
20:26I kind of looked like that.Yeah, it was bad.The wait is over.Football is here.So is Draft King.Draft King is now live in all 50 states. One app every sport nationwide. So last week, Ohio State to lose by less than two of Texas.
20:39And that was a win for us because Ohio State only lost by one.Alabama to win at Kentucky.Alabama pulled away. That game was closer than I thought it was going to be for a while. It was around.Yeah, the first half was good.Yeah, for a minute.I thought, oh, maybe Kentucky's good, or oh, maybe Alabama does suck, and then ran away.
20:56And then, yeah, I lost the Oklahoma-Michigan game. So, what was my best? It's almost there.Wasn't my best.New Draft King customer, sign up with the code Bobby Sports.Spend $5 to get $200 in rewards within 21 days, includes all markets. That is the code Bobby Sports. In partnership with Draft Kings, the crown is yours.

25:02Yes, self-care can be a long walk.It can be in everything shower. It can be putting your phone on Do Not Disturb. But sometimes it's actually about sitting with the uncomfortable stuff. And understanding your patterns, your boundaries, finally figuring out while you keep doing things that you swore you would never do again.I'm Gemma Spag, the host of the Psychology of Your 20s podcast.and each week we unpack the psychology behind the experiences that shape your 20s,from relationships and friendships to money, anxiety, confidence, attachment,
25:31just becoming more comfortable with who you are.Unlike the quarter life crisis, which is depicted as the collapse, the quarter life reinvention is the expansion and growth of something. When we develop the ability to be happy by ourselves, nobody else can take that from you.So this self-care September, don't just take care of yourself, get to know yourself as well.Listen to The Psychology of Your 20s on the IHart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. So the Arkansas football game started at 920, which itself was so late.I was at the Brooks and Dunn concert and I had it on my phone. I was watching it.
26:08And hey, we went up 3-0. I thought we'd maybe surprise some big 12ers.Go, baby.Utah runs such a cool offense because they have two quarterbacks out there. And one of the quarterbacks is basically a quarterback and can also.catch the ball, one's like a quarterback who runs the ball. And they move those guys around. They throw it.It's a really cool offense.
26:28I mean, they just...Was it that bad?I didn't see anyone who I just saw the score. We went up 3-0 and they scored and then they scored and then they scored and they scored.Let me see if you remember. And then they scored. We were terrible. We were terrible.
26:43Was it turnovers or just like...All.We threw a really bad interception on a screen pass, which you barely see.Ooh.Yeah.That's frustrating. We're just not good. And I don't even blame our coaching staff this year
26:56because when they were hired, they came in.There's like a third of the portal season left. It's not like he had a year to raise money, which is what this is all about. But we've been bad for a while.I blame our athletic director. We've been bad for a long time. It's terrible.
27:13I'm not used to being the worst, though.Like we've had bad years, but there's always been Kentucky behind us,Vanderbilt behind us, Mississippi State behind us.Usually we'd be fourth or fifthI'm not used to being the worst.Yeah, no.Yeah.
27:24Is there any...Anybody worse? No, no, we're the worst. No, right now, no.Because even Mississippi State, they have that quarterback, too. They put it on Minnesota. We're the worst. We're the worst.
27:33But here's the deal with Vanderbilt.I don't know if Vanderbilt's good or not.I don't think they're good.Yeah.I think they're mid to low, but I think they're still better than us.Okay.Because they haven't played anyone good yet,and they are barely beating the bad teams.
27:47So, we'll see.You got another hat? No.We can clip this for the internet if we want, butthe last few Razorback football coacheswill send me a signed balland probably just because I donatebecause I'll get like the gear and stuff and it's like
28:05you're a part of this donation groupand like when Pittmanand hey Bobby, hey thanks for being a hobbyfan Sam Pittman and whatever the little saying is.Bilema, same thing. So I got this onein the mail from Silverfieldbut it looks like I just got one of the 10,000 that was signed in a row.Like it was all, they were all put on a table.
28:26Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. There's no, hey, Bobby on there. It's still in the box and everything, too. It's just hey, there's no, no, no message.Just write, hey Bobby on there.Made me feel special.Yeah, they just put them on a cafeteria table, and all they did was sign 100 of them,
28:42and it's package one up, send it to me.Yeah.And there are bigger problems in the world.I get it.But when all the other coaches write,Bobby. I like Hey Bobby.Sorry, man.Looks like you just signed these generic balls.
28:55Let's just send him one of the generic ones. There's no, hey Bobby. Look at this ball.Where do you see Hey Bobby? No, I don't see Hey Bobby. No. No, just a hog and a name. How is supposed to do this? I can't show this off in my house because I want to come over and be like, oh, you guys still are filled to sign a ball.Man, I bet he signed that just for you.Hey, I don't, where's that?Oh, that's awkward.
29:13Where's the Hay Bobby? They probably assume that you just bought it on eBay.Yeah.Great point. Or signed up myself.Yeah, that's who.I get it. It's petty. There's no Hey Bobby. What does it say on the bottom there under the signature?
29:27The saying is all in.Okay. That's what they says on their shirts and stuff.Yeah. So do I write Hey Bobby on it?It's not the same thing, man. It's not the same. I wonder how many people have that same one. What if someone else got on this said, Hey Bobby?Oh, no. They send me the wrong one.Well, then at least you know it's out there.
29:43I bet you then that didn't happen.Okay.All I wanted was a Hey Bobby.Bobby or to BobbyEddie can write itor to America's biggesthog fan BobbyOh
29:56just threw it manSo what are you going to do with that now? We're not detail-orientedI'll probably write Hey Bobby on itNiceTo be yourselfThat way you can avoid all those awkward conversationsYou were talking about
30:11I'll do it right nowYou know whatYou're gonna fix it?Yeahwe're going to make this rightI got a Sharpie right hereHold it up hold it up I want to see you I want to see itIt's hard for me to
30:24Can you want me to hold it while you sign itThere you go here we goTo BobbyNumber oneHog fanThanks forLoving the HoggI'm be out of room
30:56YourOh no no okayAmazing.Woo pig. There you go.Wait, he wrote all that?I got in the mail.I was pretty excited to have it personalized.
31:12Nice.Wow, coach, that's really nice of him.Attention to detail.I got a good feeling about our programbecause we are so detail-oriented.Wow, look at that. That's nice of him. That is cool.
31:23Where are you going to put that?On my butt.Oh, you just threw him on the couch.Dude, what the...I said, hey, Bobby, on it.Okay.No, don't put it on camera. You can't catch that on camera.
31:36Oh, I can't move the camera to it.All right.You can, I don't care.Sitting by itself over there now.It's all lonely over there by Kevin.Yeah, so that happened.I'm sorry.Clip that.
31:46I'll put that up.Yeah, we'll clip it.On social media.NFL game of the day was, probably Buffalo and the Texans. That's an awesome game. That was a good one.Yeah.
31:56That was an awesome game. The Bears and the Panthers is pretty good.Wait, was it the Panthers?Yeah, yeah. That's a good game. Then the Bears just kept scoring.Scored so much. They just kept scoring.
32:05The bears are probably going to be pretty good. The Panthers might actually be pretty good too.Yeah.Yeah.I think Baltimore's going to be really good.Yeah, man. When does Derek Henry slow down?Exactly.
32:15I don't understand it.Did he have three touchdowns?Yeah.Lamar looked good.Yeah, they look really good.Say Flowers got hurt.Yeah.Yeah, and he was doing really good.
32:25He was doing really well.Hopefully it's nothing big.Whenever a team plays a bad team, though, like the Jaguars beat the Browns, really bad, but the Browns were so bad.Dude, you want to know what? When we were watching the game,I don't know what got into me, but, like,
32:40they were rushing Deshaun, and I was like, kill him!And my kids are like, whoa, dad, whoa, whoa, why do you not like that guy so much?I'm like, he's not a good guy, boys, he's not a good dude. And they're like, why?And I'm like, we're not going to get into this right now, boys.Like, I didn't want to have the whole conversation.Oh, they don't know?
32:56But I do owe them a reason why I wasn't rooting for Deshaunor I wanted him dead.Oh.On the field.I wanted him crushed on the field.Good correction.Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.I feel bad for Browns fans.
33:10It's not their fault.Yeah.It's not their fault.Their organization sucks.Remain sucky. And that they bring in terrible people.Yeah, that's crazy, dude. It's hard.
33:18That's crazy just to see them out there. It's crazy to see Browns fans still there.Support them.Yeah, but there was a road game.Yeah, wasn't it?But I did see some in the stands.Yeah.I felt bad for Browns fans because they didn't do anything
33:32to deserve.this. It was like for a while I felt bad for Penn Statefans. Yeah, during all that.Yeah. Like they didn't do anything.Oh, at leastThey're good. They're good though now. At least I can't say oneback then. Yeah.Yeah, true.
33:46Titan suck again. We talk again. They're so bad. They're so bad.Somebody was giving away free ticket to my neighborhood.Like before the game? Before the game, yeah.Oh, that's not fair.Because I mean, I thought they could, I mean, you know, it's before the game. They could be good. They're playing the Jets. Before the first game?
34:02They're playing the Jets. They could win. They could win. Yeah.I would understand after. We're like, take my whole season tickets. All of them. All my season tickets.Bengals look pretty good against the box.
34:10They did.And Jamar didn't do anything and they still looked really good.I thought, I mean, the Lions Saints game ended up being really good.Did you see the fumble recovery that was controversial where Jared Gough got sacked and it was in the first quarter, I believe?Oh, yeah.Throw in hand motion?Yeah, but the ball, when he let go, the ball went behind him.And they said his intention was to throw it.
34:32forward so it was an incomplete pass because of his intention. So the explanation was that once you put your hand up in the, like it looks like you're puttingyour hand up to throw the ball, it doesn't matter if it's moving forward or not. That's what Mike Piero was saying, is that you already have the intention of throwing the balltherefore it's an incomplete pass.Well, it's always your hand moves forward. It's always been that.Well, not the way they explained it this time.
34:53Yeah, I never heard this one before.Giants beat the Cowboys, 2820.They did?We were talking about that.Yeah.Cardinals beat the Chargers, that was a good one.Hey, I'm telling you, dude.I like to see that.
35:04I like to see that.Yeah, but your quarterback's not getting in.Jacoby Versette, I think he's got the job.Yeah.But Jeremiah Love scores right away.Yeah, right away.Right away.Pretty cool.
35:14Good for him.Okay, well, we had sports.Dude, you know what I thought watching all the week one was, man,the defenses in the NFL have just gotten so much more aggressive.Like, they hit so harder than I think I've ever, ever seen.Like everyevery possession, every snapThey play so freaking hard
35:38That it's the hardest I've ever seen them playI'm just surprised like running backs get up after a hitYeah there's some hard onesI also say it's week oneThey're all fresh and feeling goodThat could be it tooBut I hear youYou want to go to John Talti

It can be in everything shower. It can be putting your phone on, do not disturb. But sometimes it's actually about sitting with the uncomfortable stuff. 41:04sports and his book is coming out this week, Lane being Lane. Have you done so much promotion,John, is it just exhausting now? You know, there's a, you have to do what you have to do. You knowhow it works, Bobby. But I enjoy it. I mean, you get a chance to sell people, hopefully on somethingthat you put a lot of energy into. So I enjoy it as best I can. I'm sure by the end of the week,I'll be exhausted. But it's fun. And especially when you get to talk to people that you liked andthat makes it even more fun. This is it. This is a big week, though. This is when it comes out, finally like you so will you look because it's not different than a song because have friends that haveput out songs and they get to know immediately because it's three minutes but i've put out books and
41:41it takes forever because like you want people to give you feedback but it takes like a long time toread a book it does and it's harder than ever right i think people like you know i've heard frompeople already like hey like is there an audiobook i just kind of want to listen to it when i drive i don'treally have time to read books so so that's hard um you do want that kind of immediate feedback um butBut it's also just like you go into these things like and you have all these things that you want out of it.It's like, do I care most about sales?Do I care about critical acclaim?Do I just want to like people in my life to like it?
42:12There's all these different things and it's pretty anxiety inducing.I don't know.I think it is like a song, but also just so much that goes into writing a book and you kindof have to like just put it out there to the world and just people don't hate it.And you know, few for two so far I think of people not hating my books, but you just never know.so you start getting some reactions back.I put way too much so forth into mine results.John, I'm telling you, I was a mess.
42:36I'm Mr. Neurosis anyway. And every time I'd have a book come out like week of, I'm like, I hate it.It's the worst.I'm not worthy.I go through all that sort of doubting myself. So I hope you're a little more mentally healthy than I am.Unfortunately, Bobby, I think you and I maybe are more alike than we know.Because that's a lot of how I am as well.
42:57But I don't know.I guess it's you choose, it's pick your poison, right?Like there's some people who I've encountered in my career, you probably have to, Bobby, who think like everything they've ever done is the greatest thing that's ever been done. And it's like, I did this thing and no one's ever done it better. And I have much more of the everything I've ever done is not good enough.I guess if I, at least for me, I'd rather be more on that side and like constantly striving to be better and more. But the flip side of it is that you're never satisfied.
43:24And that that is also something.that I've had to work throughof just like, hey, I said if I could just do this thing, then I'd be happy. And then you get that thing. It's like, still not quite as happy as I thought I'd be.Yeah, I wish I had a little bit of that too, because I think everything I do is the worst thing that's ever been done.
43:38Not even just the worst thing I've ever done, but the worst thing that's ever been done.Okay, so Lane B&Land is out this week.Just a reminder, guys.Get it.I haven't got it.I have it, but I'm not going to read ituntil I finish my book, The Wager right now.
43:51And man, this is a British warship. They're at some trouble right now, John.I don't want to tell you too much about it,but they're in some trouble right now.Okay, I do want to start with Oregon because, holy crap. And I just want to go to one of your central arguments, which has been that if he would have left last year,he'd have been a top three pick.
44:07Now, this is only week two for Oregon. Is there a chance that this game? And look, they didn't have an easy run with Boise State either. So let's not act like that was a walk in the park.Is there a chance his draft stock could go down?Yeah, certainly possible. And I think that's, you know, you think about a year ago, Bobby.like nobody was thinking necessarily for nano mendoza's going to be the number one overall pick like right we always have guys who start eye and fade and guys who kind of come out of nowhere and rise up and it's kind of almost funny when you look like a year out of like what the draft projections are and then compare them to the actual thing because they just changed so much so i think you know it's a combination of factors it's not just dante right i mean i also do like there's some coordinator issues there potentially in which they lost this incredible offensive coordinator will steyer
44:55He's at Kentucky now. They promoted internally. And it didn't look great.Week 1 against Boise State's a good team. You kind of, all right, you know, it happens. And then it didn't look good again against Oklahoma State. And kind of across the board, like decision making wasn't great.Dante didn't look very comfortable.
45:12Some of the decisions he was making were not great. And they have this stunning loss to a team. They were a 20 plus point favorite over in Oklahoma State. So he's going to have to improve, again, it's only two weeks.there's an opportunity for that to go up.But just as he could go down,we might see other quarterbacks move up.And one of them could be the guy he played against
45:33and Drew Mestemaker, who had pretty darn good day for Oklahoma State. And he's a guy that people have high onin some ways a potential first round pick down the line.Okay, so Mestermaker is interestingbecause, again, with him coming with this coachand they go to Oklahoma State, high hopes, and they lose to Tulsa week one.
45:51And him and Dante Moore kind of flipped it because bad week one from Estemaker, great week two.At least Dante Moore one week one had a bad week two.But is college football, is it so week to week and there's just much parity that maybe it's just a week for both of them and it really doesn't define anything about them?Definitely possible, right? And I think that's like by the end of the season we'll obviously know a lot more. But I do think, to your broader point, like, there is so much more parity now that I do think we'll see probably wilder upsets, wilder results.I mean, the Oklahoma State one stunned me.I mean, it really did.
46:30I was not expecting that for all the reasons you described. They lost to Tulsa the week before, and they did not look good doing it.I mean, Tulsa, Tulsa defense did a much better job stopping Drew Messonmaker than Oregon's did.And you would never, it never could have predicted that to happen. But guess what?In a week from now, Oklahoma State might look bad again. And we might be saying, man, maybe they're more like the team that lost at Tulsa. So there's a lot of week to week, I think, variants.
46:54And you have to kind of, you know, bake that into the cake. And it is why these first couple weeks, they're very fun because it gives us a chance to react to a lot of things. But there's also the chance that our reactions look very dumb by the end of the season.Just because we have such a small sample size and we're taking these bigger opinions and takes on things.but we still just still know so little. And I think even really by week four, week five,we're just going to barely be really getting to know a lot of what these teams actually arecompared to what we know about them right now.
47:28On my hate list, number one, Osama bin Laden, number two, Bernie Madoff, number three, University of Texas. And in that order, but they're all close. They're very close in the same range there. They fluctuate, too, day to day.So I hate Texas so much. However, I really like Archmanning. And it is an internal battle that I struggle with.
47:46I was, this is hard for me to say, I was happy to see, I was happy to see them fired up at the end of the game after they won that game.So Texas, for real? This is a great question just because of what we saw in that game, right?Like, I mean, and I remember watching that game, my boss is texting me like, are you going to crush Sark in your column or what you're right? And because it was looking so bad for them. And then, of course, they come back and they win and Arch looks great at the end.And now we're all super excited about Texas. So I think Texas is super talented.
48:18They are one of the best teams, certainly in SEC.That's what we thought heading into the season. Are they the team?I still have some questions. And I still, you know, there's some things that are still concerning to me based on what I saw. But, you know, sometimes when we think about these dream seasons that can happen, you need things to go your way.You need fluky things. You need wild comebacks.
48:38You need to somehow some way you won.And so when you're able to have an all-time comeback, which Ohio,State first team since 1988 to blow a 20-point lead as a number one team. When you can win a game like that as Texas, it could be the start of a magical year. And maybe by the end of the season, if Arch Manning wins the Heisman, we're going to lookback to this game as like a key foundational part of his resume of like, wow, this guy hassomething special about him.Yeah, they're still Texas.
49:10They're still Texas. And I, again, I root for Arch.but I have a lot of Texas friend fans, fan friends, and they also know they're still Texas, and they tend to have one or two of those momentsthat remind you they're Texas, and they're always really good, but they haven't been able to be great.
49:27Is that fair?Absolutely.I mean, you look at all that they've had. They haven't, like, fully underachieved under Stark.I mean, listen, they went to the semifinal twice.Last year, that team was disappointing, but, like, they still haven't fully broken through yet, and, like, we still have to see it to believe it.
49:43And I have some Texas fans in my life. And they're very amusing.Maybe not as amusing to you, Bobby. They can be amusing to me just how wild their swings are.But I would say they still have some skepticism about Sarkesian themselves of like,is this guy truly the guy to win it all for us?And now they're feeling amazing right now after beating Ohio State. But I had one friend of mine during the game who, after they finally won,
50:07I was like, I need to delete basically every text I've set over the course of this game. And how mean I was about Texas.because he was just freaking out by how bad they looked that first half of the game.My family are all diehard sooner fans.It was not a good weekend for them.I did not expect Michigan to do that after what Michigan didn't do the week before, even though they won.Was that game as much of a shock to you?
50:28Yeah, absolutely.I mean, I think the two big surprises of the weekend, for me at least, for Oregon and Oklahoma, because it's also, those are two teams that people loved heading into the season. Now, this is not to toot my own horn because I'm going to be wrong about many things over the course of the season, probably. But the two teams that I was probably more down on nationally compared to the average person were Oregon and Oklahoma.I mean, people had Oregon winning the national championship. And that's not how I viewed them. But Oklahoma, you thought with the defense that you know you're going to get Brent Venables every year.
51:03Plus, healthy John Mateer, second year at Oklahoma with Van Arbuckle, their offense, coordinator. Like, I thought they were going to win, probably by double digits, honestly, against Michigan. Now, that makes me, I guess, a mark because I fell into the trap, but just the way that Michigan, you know, played week one, kind of all the weirdness surroundingquarterback Bryce Underwood. Like, it just felt like a game that Oklahoma should win and potentiallywin handily. And that did not play out at all. And I think now you're getting more questions aboutwhat's going on up the offense. Why does it not look better? Why could we not score more pointsagainst a Michigan team that has not looked great to this point.
51:41So that's concerning. And you know, you look at the rest of their schedule, Bobby, and it's very challenging.I mean, there's a very real chance that Oklahoma could have three lossesbefore we even get to November when they have to play Florida in Ole Missand I think Texas A&M.So they've got an incredibly challenging schedule as it is.And when you drop a game like this to Michigan and your non-con,
52:03it's going to be hard to kind of get back on track to try to make the playoffs just with what'sstill to come. One other note about that game, because I did watch the whole game, but Bryce Underwoodstill didn't look great throwing it, but he looked good running it. I mean, is that something you'regoing to see them do more with him as, okay, let's utilize this? They had success doing that at Utah. You know, they had, you know, the quarterback Dampere who, you know, maybe if Bryce Underwood's notat Michigan, you try to bring that guy with you, because they were effective, you know, using his legsand different things last year at Utah. So I do think it's, you know, it's one way to get the offensemoving, right? Like Bryce's passing has not been where they've wanted it to be, right? There were
52:43concerns heading into the season that his passing is maybe not what they were expecting when theyarrived at Michigan, especially knowing this is, you know, former number one overall recruit, you know, eight figures deal to come to Michigan. And so if the passing game's not there, use his legs, use some different things to just get the ball moving down field. And then maybe thatopens up the passing game, you know, down the line. And frankly, I think the guy on the othersideline, John Mater, that's one of his strengths, right? Like that guy can be a battering ram at times. And so Bryce isn't quite built the way Mateer is, but that's a strong kid. And I do think maybethat's a way to use him at least early round until you figure out kind of what you can do
53:24effectively with him passing the ball with a new offensive coordinator, a new head coach.I'm sure you saw maybe at live or at least clips, but it's a bad move for game day to haveTed Cruz out there regardless. You have to put that in a controlled setting. And he wasn't on talking politics. And look, I'm not a Ted Cruz guy.But you don't put anybody political talking politics out there because what happenedwas freaking hilarious is they just yelled, boo, Ted sucks, Ted sucks.
53:51And I understand what they're trying to do because it's a bipartisan. We're trying to make sure that college football has a body that can actually makedecisions without having to get sued every month by a different lawyer and adifferent state. Would you agree that if they're going to do that, it needs to be within walls ofsome sort of building so people can't scream over the message? I would agree. I think Ted Cruz hasthe mindset of all publicity is good publicity. And that's really putting it to the test based onthe reaction that he got. I did check in of someone the other day, not in the Ted Cruz team, but other people involved in that Protect College Sports Act
54:33about how they thought it went over. And the reaction I got was not great, Bob.They did not achieve what they were hoping to achieve. And Ted Cruz, honestly, should just be thankfulthat Texas won that gamebecause I've been at multiple games where Ted Cruz has shown up atin which that home team lost. There's a little bit of a Ted Cruz curse kind of going around.
54:55And that was one of the first things I thought ofwhen he was getting booed like crazy.in Austin was like, man, if Texas loses this game, like he's got to stop going to these.I think I've been at least two A&M gamesin which Ted Cruz showed up atand they lost both of those games. It's like Drake almost.
55:11Like whoever Drake bets on and wherever Ted Cruz goes, they tend to lose.I watched Tennessee and Georgia Tech, and for a minute, that was interesting, but Tennessee was just bigger, faster, stronger. How good is Tennessee?I think they've been under the radar this year.I mean, you look at them now,
55:30the top 15 team.I don't think that we even thought of them, maybe as a top 15 team coming into the season.Something that's just kind of based on the chaos of other teams losing and things like that. But I mean, I think the season, in a lot of ways, hinges on Phazon Brandon, you know, their freshman QB who came in with, you know, a lot of hype. And great kid.I've spent a little bit of time around a very quiet, soft-spoken,
55:53but like, you know, the classic does all the right things, great head on his shoulders. And it seems to kind of be built for this current moment of,college football. And Brandon is, you know, his ceiling is incredibly high. And, you know, I likeJosh Hepple. I mean, I know Tennessee fans, like, listen, Bobby, by the end of the season,Tennessee fans might be angry at Josh Hepoe because he loses three games or something like that. But he just, he's kind of a no-nonsense guy. He's not, you know, look at me or anything likethat. Just as those guys prepared and has them ready. And so far, it's, it's been very good.
56:23And, you know, listen, we're still about to head into the SEC season. That'll get harder, obviously, but I think that they are trending in a way higher than maybe we thought at the beginningof the season. And I'm very excited to see once we get into some of those early tests in the SEC,how they hold up and how some of their young kids hold up once we get to SEC play. The Alabama Kentucky game was interesting because for a minute we thought it might be a gameand then it wasn't. So do we think Alabama is going to love Kailen DeBore and what is their ceiling? We were talking earlier about week-to-week stuff, right? And that stuff like Kailen DeBoer in Alabama.
57:01It's week-to-week in terms of how people feel about them.Because, again, I live in Birmingham.I have a lot of Alabama fan friends. And that's kind of similar to Texas.Like the amount of angry texts I was getting from Alabama fansduring the first half of that game at Kailen DeBore, at Ryan Grub, anybody associated with Alabama. But I will tell you, Bobby, you know,
57:23who looked really good for Alabama against Kentucky.Connor Talty. No relation, but I always support a fellow Talty. And he was looking great. He was hitting his field goals. I was kind of brewing an idea of Connor Tallty is theMVP for Alabama in that game before they started scoring touchdowns. But, you know, listen,it's going to be up and down all season. And at this point, I think, even though they ended upwinning, this idea of Alabama struggling on the road, it is a feature not a bug, I think, forKailin DeBoer. We saw it happen the first couple of years, whether it's losing to Oklahoma, losing to Bannerbilt, losing to Tennessee. For whatever reason, he seems to struggle a bit
58:03on the road. And that's something that we just didn't see as much under Nick Saban. It's somethingthat I think fans are still trying to grapple with, certainly not accepting, but trying to gettheir heads around. And so just in general, it's just more of a roller coaster with DeBore. Andsometimes the highs are really high, like beat in Georgia. And sometimes there's someonelows when you don't look great against Kentuckyand you're questioning everything aboutyour fandom. But we'llsee how they kind of play moving
58:31forward. Florida State's an interesting one coming upand then so you get to the heart of the SECplay too. We'll know a lot more about them pretty soon. Two final questions. If you hadto pick one of the teams to make the playoff between Oregonand Oklahoma, who do you think would make theplayoff?I'll still take Oregon just because I think
58:47their path is easier.Oklahoma's path, I think it's just very, verychallenging with what they still have to come.I think there's a chance like Oklahoma could go seven and five this year. And not because I think Oklahoma is a bad team.I just think that there's so many good teams kind of in the same range in the SECthat it could be challenging for them to kind of get to that nine,10 wins they probably need.
59:08Oregon has a challenging schedule as well, but I think it's a bit more manageable for them to possibly sneak in.All right.Final question.I was looking at some tweets about Jimbo Fisher and Brian Kelly.Do you think those two guys will ever resurface and be head coaches again of a P4 school?they want to.But you know, there's, you need a mutual dancing partner, right?
59:30And so that that's, I think, the real question with both of those guys. And I can tell you, last cycle, Jimbo Fisher was trying to get in the mix for jobs and could not get much traction. And not even like big jobs.Like there were smaller jobs that he was allegedly interested in that he did not get traction on.So that kind of, to me, gave a sense of where the market was.you know, for Jimbo Fisher in that moment. Now, listen, if Florida State, which, you know, just fired their athletic director, they fired Mike Norvell, is Jimbo going to be trying to work behind the scenes
01:00:04with every Florida State Power Burger he knows to try to go back there?Yeah, I think he absolutely is going to try to do that.I'm skeptical that would work out, but you never know.Brian Kelly's more interesting.Probably my favorite tweet of the college football season so far is one imagining him at Rutgerswith a Michael Sarah doing like a Jersey accentthat cracked me up.I think that would be very funny
01:00:26imagining Brian Kelly at Rutgers. But I think he still has the itch as those Jimbo.I mean,I think they both might have to acceptthat it's essentially at a lower level than P4and if they're okay with that. But I think that they'll be mentioned for jobs, Bobby, whether they actually get one.
01:00:46I'm a little bit more skeptical of.But I do think especially for Jimbo,if he doesn't get one this cycle,it's going to get harder and harder. You know, Brian Kelly just got fired a year ago.Jimbo's been out for a couple years now.And so if he can't get in the mix,it'll be very hard for him to get back.
01:01:01And if he doesn't get back,I think he's pretty entertaining on TV.I think he'd be pretty goodcontinuing to do that. All right, the book is out this week.Lane being Lane, the story of Lane Kiffin, college football is agent of chaos.John Talty.
01:01:12Thank you, John.Talk to you soon.I hope the book is,I hope this is like the greatest week of your life. And, well, second, third, depending on your family situation. But let's go third, a solid third.John, good to talk to you.
01:01:24Talk to you soon.Thanks.Appreciate you, Bobby. The Aaron Rogers thing was funny when he said that when he proposed to Shailen Woodley.Yes.And then she said, hold on, I got to go have sex with the other guy first. That's weird.Like, was she joking?
01:01:38No.She was serious.Yeah.I don't know.I think he's full of crap half the time. But man, as much as he annoys me, I just love when he talks. He says some crazy stuff.I feel like he'd be fun at dinner.
01:01:50Oh, I don't.I feel like I'd get annoyed with him in 10 seconds.Oh, really?Maybe an appetizer and that's it.Coffee.I didn't watch all his clips, though.Yeah, there were some good ones in there. There's some good ones.
01:02:00So I thought that was pretty fun.I don't know if there's anything else.I want to talk about.Nah.I don't know, man.Can we ever talk about Tua's burner account? It was his wife. She posts for him.
01:02:14I know, but that's what they said. No, it was.It was, for sure.It was for sure his wife because.I forgetI forget what it wasBecause it was another accountBut I guess the wife said

01:03:25You got two quarterbacks coming off injury.Man, I saw that and I just like, I'm like, man, I need a break.Already, I feel like I need a break.Well, last week was heavy, though, because it was Wednesday, Thursday, Saturday, withcollege, Sunday. It was five hardcore days because it was the beginning of the season.Yeah.But I feel you.
01:03:40I feel you.All right.Yeah.Anything's going to win.Chief?Probably Denver?You guys don't have a team in this right now?Nah.
01:03:48Good.But I don't care.I don't even know that I'll watch because I really got to,picking shoes now with the baby.Isn't it tough?Yeah. And my wife, A plus MVP, because I watched all the first 12 to three games, no interruption. She's like, just go watch all your games.
01:04:03So I did all that. And then once a 3 o'clock games came, I think she had just committed to letting me watch football all day, which is hard because she's got the baby all day.But I was like, no, no, no.So we went and did like a trip with the baby and walked the baby. That's where I found that hat.On your trip?Oh, that was right before the game?
01:04:18Uh-huh.Oh, you're so red.Did you wear that during the game? No.Did you wear that walking out of the store? No, no chance. All right, thank you guys.We will see you later on this week.
