Starting point is 00:02:19 Hey, more studio. Morning. I was reading the story about how people will drive up and go, hey, I'm going to sell you a TV. And people go, oh, yeah, you're a TV, huh? Yeah, 300 bucks. So they bought these TVs from people. And turns out they were just the shells of a TV and they were taping rocks inside of them.
Starting point is 00:02:35 So they felt heavy. Not good. And it's not like you get mad. I didn't go, hmm, officer of the law. I bought a TV at a gas station and now I feel jipped. Yeah, and I didn't open it up and look at it. Even then you're probably buying a stolen TV if it's a real TV. Oh, yeah, true.
Starting point is 00:02:51 Good point. So, but charges are filed against these two guys who allegedly sold Rockville television sets. I just wouldn't call. I would be just embarrassed that I bought it You fell for it. Once there were iPads that were selling
Starting point is 00:03:05 at the gas station. Remember this and they opened it up and it was just like a cutting board. A cutting board. Wow. So people wouldn't look in the box. Why do you not look in the box? Well, because you want to... It's a quick deal, you know? Don't look at a gift horse in the mouth.
Starting point is 00:03:17 Give them 50 bucks and get out of there with your iPad. They're hooking you up. You gotta go. No electronics inside the TVs. Just taped rocks. They also found the TVs hadn't been stolen. They were just empty shells these guys have taken. Oh, like from a dumpster or something?
Starting point is 00:03:31 Yeah, and they've been pulling similar stunts to others. They're facing theft by fraud. Instead of theft by stealing TVs and reselling them, theft by fraud. But again, here's the moral. If somebody pulls up to you at a gas station and wants to sell you anything,
Starting point is 00:03:44 haggledown. That's the moral. It's not just, just haggled down and then sometimes you may get lucky. I just want to, I'll be at the mall, people like, hey, you're looking for new speakers that? In the parking lot? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:03:55 And I would think to myself, well, I am looking for one. Huh, funny you ask. I mean, yeah, I mean, I guess they're getting charged or something. The fraud makes sense because they're selling a fraudulent product, but still, those other people are sort of dumb. And what if, yes, and what if they said this if they were given the TV? Charges of conditions are that you never let you get that TV, you bought it, but they did it. Oh. They cover themselves with some sort of legal.
Starting point is 00:04:16 How do we know they didn't do that? You can't sue that. Recognizing people doing cool things. It's ICU. The 17-year-old high school senior Callie Quinn did not have a date for prom. Do you see this on Twitter with the Mets, the New York Mets? I didn't know. So she asked the New York Mets, her favorite baseball team to help her out.
Starting point is 00:04:36 She said, hey, can I come take pictures at the stadium with the players, prom pictures? They say, okay, if you can get 500,000 retweets. Thinking she would never get 500,000 retweets? Because who's going to get 500,000 retweets? Except for the guy from Wendy's? Yeah, the chicken nugget. Who wants chicken nuggets? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:04:54 If she could get that, they would organize for her to come take pictures at City Field with the players. So in eight days. Who came up with that idea, though? The Mets guy, they're like, she'll never do it. Let's just say this. And then she got it. And not only did she go, they had the stadium ready. Mr. Mett, the guy at the baseball head. The mascot was there, players, all of it. He even did the promposal to her, Mr. Mets, the mascot.
Starting point is 00:05:16 That's awesome. So I've had that. It was cool. It was cool. Good for the Mets. But I wonder if they would have done it even if she hadn't got $500,000. That's what I'm saying. I hope they thought that she could get it.
Starting point is 00:05:27 Oh, I would never think someone could get that. many. Why did you make something unattainable when it's her wish? So you don't have to do it. Oh. Yeah, yeah. Bye. I see you. The Bobby Bones Show. Big Three Stories. It's producer Raymond in Harris County, Texas. A man barricaded himself in his home and shot a cop. Despite being handcuffed, official said the cop was taken to the hospital
Starting point is 00:05:46 and is in stable condition and is going to be fine, so that's awesome news. In Virginia, that Amtrak train carrying the Republican lawmakers crashed into a garbage truck killed the driver. Well, now we're finding out that railroads. road crossing had been malfunctioning for weeks before the crash happened. And finally, in sports, we're three days away from the Super Bowl. Experts are warning to watch out for fade tickets, only buy tickets through trusted ticket sites.
Starting point is 00:06:13 It's been brought to my attention that Lunchbox won't pay his debts around here. Has this been a thing? Huh. Well, I just say this, that he owes me $30 from the pool that we all were supposed to get in. That's true. And then apparently everybody chipped in on my Christmas present, and Lunchbox never paid his part. Oh, wow. We didn't follow up on that. He was 40. Oh, Raymond. Oh, Raymond. And it was
Starting point is 00:06:34 $40. Yeah, he didn't. We got you the blender and then also some shelves were going to be made, so it was a pretty pricey gift. And he didn't pitch in at all. And I remember him saying that he was maybe going to Venmo or something, but nobody saw that money. I don't think so. Now you're lying because I've never, I don't have Venmo, so I never said I'd Venmo any money. Any response to this? Yeah, I call him a liar for that. Go ahead. He makes things up. The person in charge of the money was Amy. She was gone for a month. Sorry I couldn't get the money to her. She was too busy adopting two kids. I mean, I apologize. Okay. Go ahead.
Starting point is 00:07:05 Wait, what is me being busy have to do with you pay? Nothing. Because you're the one in charge of it. I can't give you money when you're not here. Oh, well, I mean, I don't know, but every single person is paid. Yeah, that's good. Just now. But you never even, like, asked or said anything, right? But you know what? Today's a fresh day. But here's my thing. Go ahead. Did the shelves ever get built?
Starting point is 00:07:24 Yeah, Bobby. Have they been built? Because I don't want to pay for something that's not going to have. happened and Amy just clocked the money. You're $40. Like that's, it's fine. It's, it has nothing near the shelves. And Bobby is in on the, the shelves are custom made. And he has a plan. And it's being worked on on his timeline. But, you know, I'm owed to money. Yeah. 30 bucks. And then really, Amy's thing was whatever you feel you want to chip in. And so that's how much do you chip in? Fifty dollars. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Everyone. I thank you. Yeah. It's your Christmas present. Yeah. For you. Yeah. Okay. Well,
Starting point is 00:07:58 Well, just, you know. Yeah, yeah. When she got back, I was going to pay her. I just haven't had to brought my checkbook. Checkbook. What about me for the bet? No, no, no. You, I didn't really buy those days.
Starting point is 00:08:09 I never saw a calendar. Oh, my goodness. She did. Whatever. You know what? Don't let them in any other pools. Okay. Done.
Starting point is 00:08:16 No, like I really. It's like your children. No, this is like taking care of my children. I have two children at home and one at work. Oh, you have three kids. The Bobby Bon Show. Time now for your positivity. Little segment we call Tell Me Something Good.
Starting point is 00:08:30 Tell me something good. So this bus driver and diehard Philadelphia Eagles fan, his name is Gary, been driving a bus for years and years, 27 years for all the kids. They all know them. Even the second generation knows him at this point. Long time. So everybody knows because we're his eagle hat. So they raise enough money on a go-futmy and they send him the Super Bowl.
Starting point is 00:08:51 Oh, man. That is awesome. Yeah, people from over the years that have been on the bus. No, he's a die-hard Eagles fans. They send him to the game. Fuck to that. That's just doing something nice for somebody. That's awesome.
Starting point is 00:09:02 Amy, you're up. So there's a high school that now has a director of love and hospitality. The principal has implemented this position for the four-month-old Australian Shepherd named Mike. It's a puppy that now comes to school every single day and helps the kids interact. It brightens their day. It takes them out of their bubble every time they see Max. And yeah, that's his, or Mike, and that's his title, Director of Love and Hospitality. The dog's title?
Starting point is 00:09:28 Yeah. It's a title. and he's at school every day. And it's just really helping the kids interact and be better in school. Lunchbox. They say eat fruit and vegetables to live a long life, but not old Jack. He's 105 years old, just celebrated his birthday, and he said, you got to have whiskey.
Starting point is 00:09:45 Every morning he drinks tea and whiskey, and every night before bed, eat cigarettes. No, lemonade with two shots of whiskey. He said, you want to live to be 105, drink your whiskey. I think he just got the good genetic lottery. Jack got lucky Every night I pour me a bowl of marlores
Starting point is 00:10:05 Yeah I just eat them With whiskey It's disgusting Our producer Raymond is wearing his Eagles jersey today Blasphemy I say What's he thinking Is that a Tim Tebow jersey?
Starting point is 00:10:21 Yeah baby And have you bet all your money on the Eagles yet? No I still got two today But you're going to I don't even bring it up if you're not going to do it No, I'm going to do it. That's why it started as a thing, but it's coming from savings. It's not instant money.
Starting point is 00:10:34 So once that's available, I'm putting it in the account. His money always has to come from somewhere far, far away and like... No, with my bank, you can't just take money out of your savings account and spend it. You should get a new bank because any account I have with my bank where money is, you just get it out and spend it. Not mine and not with a savings account. Then you don't have it in savings. Yes, I do. Checking.
Starting point is 00:10:54 No, Raymond. Raymond's our audio producer, and he has decided, which I think is a lot. a terrible bet to bet on the Eagles, all of his savings account, which is $2,000. Two years ago, he bet all of his truck and lost, and he lost his truck for months and had to pay it back to the pawn shop. And you're taking the Eagles plus four and a half? I want to do money line. Oh, that's right. You want to bet the Eagles straight up. I'm telling you it's a terrible bet for many reasons. One, you don't have the extra money to do it. That's why it's called a savings account. It actually is extra money. I don't need that money to live off of. I haven't even touched that in months.
Starting point is 00:11:32 But isn't a savings account if something bad happens or later in life or you're saving for an engagement ring? But Bobby, he could double it. I got, I don't know. Or more. I know. That's the thing. This is going to turn into even more than a savings account. This is almost just a discretionary income savings party account. Oh, you're going to create a party account with your winnings. All kinds of stuff. That sounds amazing. I'm going to put a picture of video two of Ray on my Insta story in his Eagles jersey. He's not Eagles fan, but he loved Tim Timbo. The Patriots are going to whoop them. I watched a lot more
Starting point is 00:12:02 game film yesterday. I feel even more confident. Game film. Game film. I did. Go ahead. Eagles got some great players. They're an amazing team. Even though they don't have wents, that other quarterback, they got good. Yeah, Foles is his name. Yeah, thank you. There you go.
Starting point is 00:12:19 Bobby Bones Show. Story of the day. This story comes to us from University Place, Washington. A 20-year-old man was having a party, so he ordered $80 worth of Pizza Hut, and he was like, man, I don't want to pay for that, so he called it to a fake building.
Starting point is 00:12:34 Shows up with a gun and robs the Pizza Hut driver. Yes. So they run his phone number through the Pizza Hut system. He ordered two times a week, and so that number was in there already, and they had his real address. They show up, and the pizza's sitting there on the table, half-eaten. Wow.
Starting point is 00:12:51 That's so crazy one that he just didn't steal the pizza from the building, is that he robbed the delivery guy. Yeah, from the same one he always calls, but this time he didn't want to pay. It's like robbing a bar. You go for every happy hour every day. Switch that up.
Starting point is 00:13:04 That's crazy. All right, there you go. I'm Lunchbox. That's your Bonehead story of the day. Get your bones on. Bobby Bone Show. This is a safe space, right? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:13:15 I was a little hurt. Nobody acknowledged that I had new glasses yesterday. Saw them. Yeah, I nobody said anything. I did. No, only because I said, hey, Amy. Yeah. I have new glasses.
Starting point is 00:13:26 And, yeah, they're very Harry Potterish. But I like them. And as if you come in with a new hairstyle and someone does the same thing about it, I just felt a little vulnerable and attacked. Wait, no, no. Yeah. You should not feel attacked. I felt attacked through silence.
Starting point is 00:13:42 Okay. Yeah. So I'm just sharing with you what's in my heart. We have that safe space, right? Yes. Okay. Well, then if that's the case, I'm sorry I didn't say anything because I definitely noticed. See, you can even go ahead.
Starting point is 00:13:56 And I should have said something. You're right. I mean, if someone has something new that's a part of their... If I had a new haircut, you're right. I would be waiting for you to say, hey, did you get your haircut? Huh. Do you think I look at Harry Potter? I did not think Harry Potter.
Starting point is 00:14:11 What did you think? Say it out loud. Older. Oh, these are like old man glasses? Yeah. Eddie? Yeah, I thought... You know that guy that's in trouble? The Sharpton?
Starting point is 00:14:21 No, what's his name? He was in Saturday Night Live. I'm good enough. I'm small enough, but Josh Garnerer people like me. I think he's like he's like a comedian Oh you're talking about Al Franken That guy, that's the first thing I thought so I didn't say anything Really? Not
Starting point is 00:14:34 But you can at least say, wow You can at least say hey dude What's up with those old man glasses? No, no, no, it's like, okay, a comparison Like when you hear a song for the first time You're like, I don't know what I think about these So I'm not going to say anything on it yet Yeah, that's it
Starting point is 00:14:46 Oh wow, they do look like Harry Potter Now that I Google Harry Potter Well, you didn't know what those look like So what do you think? I've never seen Harry Potter I don't expect you to notice things at lunchbox You rarely look up Yeah, I don't really...
Starting point is 00:14:56 I mean, your glasses look, I mean, more different. I just want to let you know that in my heart... Do you love them? They're okay. I have like 80 pair. It's like shoes. See, that's the thing. I rotate, yeah.
Starting point is 00:15:07 But I expected more from you, ma'am. Oh, dang. I let you down. I'll post a picture on my Instagram. You can tell me what you think. Mr. Bobby Bones on Instagram. I'll take it right now and post it up. Today is February 1st.
Starting point is 00:15:20 Wake up, wake up, wake up. It's a first time of the pond. Get up. Get up. Happy February. I'm going to tell you, January I felt like about four months. I'll be honest with you. It felt like it's 20 weeks long.
Starting point is 00:15:34 But it's February 1st, Valentine's Day's coming up. Dudes? Yeah. Lunchbox, Eddie. You got to think about this. You're two weeks away from having to make some sort of gesture with your heart. Yeah, I've thought about it. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:15:45 Good. That's all you can do right now. That's it. And you should start to act on it a bit. Oh. Okay. Amy married two kids. You doing anything?
Starting point is 00:15:52 Yeah, it's a school night. I don't know. Amy changed. Yeah. My husband said we might need to work on getting a sitter, but it's just so honest, a sitter is not going to be able to get our kids to sleep. I don't know.
Starting point is 00:16:04 You had to describe to your kids the difference between a mermaid and a dolphin last night? Well, they know mermaids are not real, but they also thought dolphins weren't real like mermaids. So they say the dolphin on the TV, they're like, the mermaid, it's not real, it's not real, it's not real. And then the dolphin comes up and he's like, that's like a mermaid, not real, not real.
Starting point is 00:16:21 So I had to explain to them, yeah, mermaids totally fantasy. see. But dolphins, they're real. I'm going to Google. I'm going to go show you. I'm going to go show you dolphins. So it was just so cute that they didn't think they're real.
Starting point is 00:16:34 Now I can't wait to take them somewhere to show them dolphins. I wonder, and I can throw this out to our listeners, things that you never thought you'd have to explain to your kids that you were like, I have to explain this. Because you never would have thought you'd had to explain that a dolphin and a mermaid, although similar in TV shows and movies, one's real, one isn't. Yes. I remember I and think dolphins were real to about two years ago.
Starting point is 00:16:56 I don't like to see them on TV Our phone number is 877 Bobby Let's do this Funny things that you've had to explain to your kids I'll do one Now I don't have any kids
Starting point is 00:17:08 But I had to explain To the lunchbox What hump day was Oh that's a good one Oh man It means it's the middle of the day Like you're going over the hump And what?
Starting point is 00:17:17 That ain't a real thing What do he think it was He didn't think it was a real thing I was just making it up to mess with them I thought he was just being funny To make me look stupid and then, man, people say it all the time, and it's hilarious. But you realize it's about getting over the hump.
Starting point is 00:17:31 The middle of the week. Okay, if you want to say that, but yeah, it's hilarious. It's literally about getting over the hump. Hey, that's not what he thinks. Is that okay how I use literally there? Yes. No, because there's no literal hump. Yeah, the literal hump could be the, I'm not getting into that.
Starting point is 00:17:48 It is okay. I accept that use. Thank you. Amy was talking a few minutes ago about, having to explain to her kids ages 10 and 7 that, okay, mermaids aren't real, but dolphins are real. And that's a conversation you never thought you'd be having. No. And so I said, what have you had to explain to your kids?
Starting point is 00:18:10 Karen and New York, good morning. Good morning. What do you think about this? Well, so I have three kids. My oldest is now 10, but when she was about three, when I take her to daycare, there was a sewage treatment plant. It was across the street. And sometimes in the summer when it was really hot, it would smell.
Starting point is 00:18:32 And one day she asked me, she said, Mommy, what does that smell? And I said, well, that's a sewage treatment plant. And she asked what that was. I explained. It was where all the waste goes for everybody who lives in the city. And she's like, well, that's a really stinky plant. And I said, yeah, it is. It is stinky.
Starting point is 00:18:53 And so she started pointing to the trees and the bushes. There is the thing, is that the stinky plant? Is that the stinky plant? So I explained her that it wasn't actually a plant, that it was a building. You know, I'm learning something here too. Yeah, no, no, I'm also learning here. Yes, if it's called a plant, I think I would assume it was a plant too if I were three or four. It's just things all plants are stinky.
Starting point is 00:19:14 Yeah. Hey, Karen, thank you very much. Appreciate you. Thank you, guys. Thank you for listening. Let's go over to Autumn. Autumn and Virginia. Autumn, you're a teacher?
Starting point is 00:19:22 Yes. What do you think? What you explain to a room full of? of sixth graders what a blockbuster was. Yeah, good luck. That's like an alien. Oh, yeah. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:19:33 So how do you tell a group of six graders what a VHS tape store is? So it came up and we had like a slightly outdated textbook at the time and there was like a story about a kid going to a video store. And the kids are like what's a video store? And I explain like, you know, like a blockbuster like where you go to rent movies and they're like a red box. And I was like, no, you actually have to go inside and look around. and they just were totally confused. They were like, why wouldn't you stay at home? Like, that doesn't make any sense.
Starting point is 00:20:01 Yeah, I bet your red box is even ancient to them. Yeah, true. Yeah, it was, I was like, let's move on to a different activity. That's funny. Back in the olden days, we used to drive our cars. Yeah, thank you very much, Autumn. Appreciate you. Let's go to Brittany.
Starting point is 00:20:19 I brought up aliens. Brittany, you just had this conversation? I was literally on my way to school about 20 minutes ago with my kids. And they were like, mom, look at the moon. It looks so crazy. And they're like, do you think that aliens live there? And I'll have to explain about how aliens are not real. And then we got onto the topic about Roswell, New Mexico,
Starting point is 00:20:40 and how, like, people believe that aliens really live there. You're going down the hole. It's all rabbit holes. Yeah, I was like, let's just stop this conversation. Wait, so you don't believe in aliens at all? I just thought it was really funny because I, just got done explaining it to them. I dropped them off
Starting point is 00:20:58 and then you guys were talking about mythical creatures. Brittany, thank you very much. You're in Charleston, right? Yes, I am. Thank you very much.
Starting point is 00:21:06 I love it over there. Thanks for hanging out. I'll be in Charleston. My stand-up comedy tour is coming to Charleston. It's coming to Tampa. It's coming to, I don't know, everywhere. All the places. All the cities.
Starting point is 00:21:16 Bobbybonescom. If you want to come to the show, Bobbybonescomedy. com. Also, albuquerque. Also, also, also. We were talking earlier about how you have to explain things to kids
Starting point is 00:21:29 because Amy had to talk to our kids and say mermaid, not real, dolphin, real. Ashley in Florida, tell me yours. Hi, I had to explain to a group of second graders when they saw a sign that said $500, there's a fine for littering. They didn't understand why it was fine to litter. And what did you say to them?
Starting point is 00:21:55 I had to explain to them what a fine really was. And it took a few rounds before they actually understood it. It's funny, too, because again, we see the word, and we can associate it with two different meanings. But as someone who's just learning words, it's probably, whoa. It's totally fine to litter. That word means two different things. How am I supposed to know which one they're talking about? Ashley, thank you for the call.
Starting point is 00:22:16 Appreciate you. Yep, thanks. Bye. Let's do one more. Shelly in Florida. Hello. Hi, this is Shelley in Florida. Thank you, Shelly.
Starting point is 00:22:24 What do you want to say? So do you remember years ago when Saturn was closing down its business is a car company? I do. Okay. So I was talking with a family member about it, and my five-year-old daughter happened to be with us. And so she interrupts us mid-conversation, and she says, oh, Saturn's shutting down, Saturn's shutting down, and she's getting all emotional about it. And here I am thinking, why is my five-year-old caring about a car company shutting down? And she responded to me, oh, that's my...
Starting point is 00:22:55 favorite planet. The one with rings. Yeah. Yes. It's also my favorite planet after Earth. Thank you for the call, Shelly.
Starting point is 00:23:03 Appreciate you. Okay. Thanks for all those. Those are funny. I got to get kids, so I can have those stories. Yeah, hurry up. You have one.
Starting point is 00:23:12 I adopted a little Bobby over here, the doll. But other than that, man. They tested these songs with brain waves of runners and people who don't run who just start running. Songs that work best
Starting point is 00:23:27 to keep you going. I can't stand running. I get so bored. I don't even like exercising. And I do it five, six days a week. You're good at it. Well, I'm good at just forcing myself to do work. Okay. Here are the songs we need to add to our list, though. These are the top seven songs. At number seven,
Starting point is 00:23:45 that's a good one. Number seven, that's still the jam. Number six, stronger, Kanye. That's good too. I feel like running. What can I say? Number six on the songs that scientifically make us run better.
Starting point is 00:24:14 God, come on, it's good, too. Shape of You from Ed Sheeran. We get into the top three here. The Greatest by See ya. I don't even know if I know this song. I don't like that. I don't run. I don't know that I know it, though.
Starting point is 00:24:38 If I know it, you know it. But I'm listening to it yet, I still don't know it. Well, that's weird. This is a first, people. Shut up and dance at number two. And then the number one song, they say to run to, is not a newish song like that. It's old school. I think it's 80s.
Starting point is 00:24:59 Dun to dun. Do you like running? No, I used to, but my knees are bad, so I don't really do it. It's not worth it to me. But did you like running? I sort of did, and I had running buddies. I would love meeting friends at the trail to run. I just want buddies.
Starting point is 00:25:27 That'd be cool. I don't even want to run with them. I'm never going to get it. 50% of people admit when they meet someone new, this is what they judge them for first. First. They meet somebody. They judge them for this first. 50% of people say that.
Starting point is 00:25:41 Okay. Oh, hi. Nice to meet you. Wait a minute. The fact that they taught this whale to talk is amazing. What? You guys see something new yesterday? Have you heard the clip?
Starting point is 00:25:56 No. What does they say? Like a whale? Like a parrot? Yes, a real whale. A corca whale. So they teach the whale how to talk. And first here is the whale saying hello back.
Starting point is 00:26:06 Hello. Hello. Scientists at Marine Land wanted to see if they're killer will, who they call Wiki, can learn novel sounds through imitative learning. Their experiment was successful because he's able to mimic hello back to them. So they're teaching him how to mimic back. Wells are super smart when it comes to animals. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:26:36 So that's a wiki that the whale. Hello. Hello. Hello. That's my favorite one. Oh my goodness. So cute. See, you guys pay attention to the worst one.
Starting point is 00:26:53 I'm over here going, what's next? Will the whale be able to cure cancer? Does he have a part of the brain that we're not able to explore? Yeah, that would be cool. Yeah, and you guys are laughing at the fart. I like the last one. No, the last one's so cute. Sorry, I'm not as forward thinking as you.
Starting point is 00:27:09 No, no. It's a whale going to give the answer. That's really awesome. I mean, he is a mammal. It's true. He could probably, he's probably going to do that. That would be great. Not everybody's making fun of me and I'm going to move on.
Starting point is 00:27:22 In this week's peak at Amazon Super Bowl commercial, they have replaced Alexa's voice with celebrity voices. Okay. So. Alexa, show me a recipe for a grilled cheese sandwich. Perthetic. 32 years of age. And you don't know how to make a grilled cheese sandwich. Gordon Ramsey.
Starting point is 00:27:39 Its name is the recipe, you... How far is Mars? How far is Mars? How am I supposed to know? I never bid there. This guy want to go to Mars. There's not even oxygen there. What is that?
Starting point is 00:27:55 I can't tell who that is. Mike, did you know that it is? I didn't hear it go... That's what I know for sure is Cardi B because you go... You go out of it. Oh, you guys aren't on the Cardi B again. I don't know who that was.
Starting point is 00:28:04 Yeah, I don't know who that was. No, I know who Cardi B is. She was on Love and Hip-Up and then she was on Vine. Man, she's... That was her, though? I don't know. But I... When everybody goes, I don't know who Cardi B is.
Starting point is 00:28:16 Man, can we be any more disconnected to pop culture? Like, Bodak Yellow? Right? That's like the biggest song of the year last year. What song is that? This one. I Heart Radio Music You Should Know, featuring Cardi B, Bodack Yellow. God if you want to.
Starting point is 00:28:46 You guys don't know this? No, man. Man. She brought the world together. Everybody's dancing in the subways to this song. Really?
Starting point is 00:28:53 Whatever. We're all getting older except me. Yeah, you're the only nose in and lunch box. Christian Bush did the latest Bobbycast
Starting point is 00:29:02 which is episode 100 and now we're a for real podcast. We have over 100 hours of material and so I'm pretty excited about that. Episode 100's up now.
Starting point is 00:29:13 Here is Christian Bush. Shirleyland I'm playing baby girl at the ACM. So George straight's sick and we're wondering if you would close the show. Jennifer had on the same shoes as like Sarah Evans or something and she's like, oh, forget it and just threw them off.
Starting point is 00:29:28 And then the curtain goes up and we start singing baby girl. George Drake gets sick. They need somebody to close the ACMs. They're like, okay, we'll do it. They sing baby girl. Sugar Land Boom. This is a Bobby Bonds show. Bobby Bonds.
Starting point is 00:29:41 The never going to get a question was as follows. 50% of people admit when they meet someone new. This is the first thing they judge them on. Friana in Indiana. Hello. Hello. What do you think? I think it's their shoes.
Starting point is 00:30:00 I think that's a very popular guest. Does anyone here have shoes? No. If you do, speak now or forever holds your peace. Nope. Okay, the answer is not shoes. Thank you very much, so I appreciate you. Adam and Georgia.
Starting point is 00:30:13 What up, buddy? Hey, how are you all? I'm real good. Everybody else good? Good, good, man. Adam, give me that answer. Adam, we go with hygiene. He says hygiene.
Starting point is 00:30:21 Anyone want to jump on the high, hygiene train. Yeah, I was going to say smell. Okay, I'll lump you in with Adam. Well, you two will be happy to know that you are. Not right. Lunchbox, 50% of people admit when they see someone they judge them on this. Wait.
Starting point is 00:30:35 They're weight. What? Wow. Well, don't hit that bell. Oh. Eddie? I have lack of hair. Oh, okay.
Starting point is 00:30:44 Is this personal experience? Yeah. Hit the bell. No. There's a cell phone. What type of cell phone they use? Wow. They go, oh, you have a flipper.
Starting point is 00:30:51 You have a flipper. You have a Samsung, you have a razor. You have Zach Morris phone from the 90s. The brick phone. Yeah, all that. So that's never going to get in. Guess what? Nobody got it.
Starting point is 00:31:05 Over to Amy now. Bobby Bonesh. The latest from Nashville in Hollywood. Amy's 32nd skinny. Carrie Underwood's husband, Mike Fisher, is coming out of retirement to rejoin his former NHL team, the Nashville Predators. He was team captain. He made it to the Stanley Cup playoffs last year with the team.
Starting point is 00:31:23 and he hopes sign a contract by February 26th or so for his new deal. So a couple things. One, he retired for just a brief part of one season. So he's like Brett Flav? No, he's coming back to the same team, though. Oh. And secondly, he made the Stanley Cup finals. Big difference than just playoffs.
Starting point is 00:31:39 Oh, my bad. No, hey, you don't claim sports as your forte. No, I was talking to someone about this yesterday because they were bringing up that Mike Fisher was coming back, and I said, I've never seen a hockey game. I want to go. I need to go. No time now.
Starting point is 00:31:51 You have kids. What? That's the curse. time. They need to go see. They've never seen a hockey game either. I feel like I'm going to do more stuff because I have kids. You know what I'm saying? Luke Brian, he has a dream. And that dream is to play the Super Bowl halftime show. He's done the national anthem. Check that box. And now he thinks maybe if he could get out there one day and do the halftime show, that'd be pretty amazing. He would be really good at it and really entertaining for us because we know them and know
Starting point is 00:32:17 how good and talented he is. Totally. But for people that don't know country music, they would just check it off and go, no. The Super Bowl has to get people who transend formats. So maybe he just is like an addition to the main person? He couldn't do it now. Listen, if his idol thing goes well and he crosses over a bit, but you have to have someone that crosses all four. Justin Timberlake is beloved by all formats.
Starting point is 00:32:38 Hip-hop, pop, country. I don't even think formats are a thing. You just need to reach all the different groups. But it's interesting. Okay. Well, good luck with that, Luke. I'm Amy. That's your 30-second skinny.
Starting point is 00:32:48 Good luck with that Luke. Everybody. Transmitting across America. This is a Bobby Ball Show. Come on, Bob. Over to Amy for our joke. The Morning Corny. Why wasn't the woman happy with the Velcro she bought?
Starting point is 00:33:13 Why wasn't the woman happy with the Velcro she bought? It was a total rip-off. That was the... Morning Corny. Time for a second We call That's Rood here. We scour all the stuff that we have and read comments that maybe a lot of listeners feel
Starting point is 00:33:33 and I feel like I should read them. Jamie on Twitter says, Not sure how much more I can take of Mr. Bobby Bones. I get it. You were poor as a kid and no one loved you as a child. Wow, wow, wow. Oh, that's rude. Sting a little bit?
Starting point is 00:33:50 Wow, I mean, you don't say it all the time. Yeah, that's rude. Rude. Let me shake that one off a bit. I have more thoughts on that later. Okay. Alexandra on Facebook. Was I the only one wishing Amy wouldn't come back?
Starting point is 00:34:04 Oh. Yikes. Probably not. But that's rude. Oh, man. You're going to keep going? Yeah, there's a whole list of them. Oh, man.
Starting point is 00:34:20 Okay. Teresa on Twitter. I really think Bobby is a better parent than both Amy and Eddie. How does that happen? Yikes. What did we do wrong? That's rude. Michael P. on Facebook. Lunchbox should take his new business idea to Shark Tank.
Starting point is 00:34:40 And by that, I mean, he should go swimming a shark tank with all his business ideas and see what happens. That's rude. Angela on Twitter says, the Will it Uber segment. on the Bobby Bone show is so stupid. They literally get paid to be dumb. I'm also kind of jealous. There you go. That's right.
Starting point is 00:35:02 By the way, coming up in the next 10 minutes, we'll say, the writer, singer, songwriter, performer of our hit song, parked by the lake. His name is Dustin Christiansen. He's going to come on the show. This song, not even up for sale yet. It was written as a joke. He has a real song, and my feeling is,
Starting point is 00:35:23 He went into the studio and was just making fun of country radio and how a lot of the male artists sound exactly the same, and their songs say the exact same thing over and over again. And so he made this song as a joke. Never put it out. It was on a private link. It's still on a private link. I just got into it and played it on the air yesterday.
Starting point is 00:35:41 Parked out by the lake. It's really catchy. It's pretty good. And it's so funny because he's parked out by the lake. 80 miles from Santa Fe. I'm still parked out. by the lake 80 miles from
Starting point is 00:35:57 Santa Fe and I'm sitting here just parked out by the lake if you're wondering where I park I'm out parked by the lake it's the lake that's 80 miles from Santa Fe
Starting point is 00:36:17 I'm parked out by the 80 miles from Santa Fe it's the lake that's parked 80 miles from Santa Fe 80 miles 80 miles from Santa Fe. So we got to know the inspiration behind this. Of course.
Starting point is 00:36:51 I love this song. I love this song. He's coming up. Remember that old lake? Yep. The one by Santa Fe. That's where I'm at. I'm sitting out here parked.
Starting point is 00:37:05 And I'm parked here by the lake. Any miles from Santa Fe. And it's a leg that you remember. Where I part. Come on, let's go. And I'm parked out by the faded miles from Santa Fe. You like that lunch? Yeah, it's pretty funny.
Starting point is 00:37:29 So what's going to happen is I've been lucky enough to have you guys that listen to the show. We're able to launch things all the time. We're able to break awesome artists because you, the listener, trust me to bring you good music. I have never been more motivated to break an artist than a song on my entire life. So good. Then this song parked out by the lake. this is a country music phenomenon that needs to be tackled
Starting point is 00:37:52 Like what do you think will happen with this song? I don't know if he plans to put it up He must put it up I don't know if he's so serious of an artist That he's like not going to put it up Because he wants his real music to be out there Yeah no but I mean this should just be Available to buy
Starting point is 00:38:03 I agree Yeah I just I mean you just gotta I won't start a record label Just to sign this one song And I'm parked out by the lane So on the phone now Is Dustin Christensen He's the artist of my new favorite song
Starting point is 00:38:20 parked out by the leg. Dustin. How's it going? Hey buddy. How are you doing? I'm doing all right. How are you? Good.
Starting point is 00:38:35 Can I just say I'm a huge fan of yours? Well, I'm a huge fan of yours. This song has just swept me and my people. Like, we love it. So I got to know where this thing came from because it doesn't seem like you ever wanted it to get out. No, well, you know, really a buddy of mine and I, we just like, we go for, around a lot in the studio when we're making records.
Starting point is 00:39:00 And we always had this thing that you would just take the first line of any song and try to re-sing it in as many different ways as possible for the whole song. And we would just do it on the fly. So after I'd make a record, I would go in the vocal booth and just sing one take-down of whatever came out of my mouth, came out of my mouth. And then we would just sing three-part harmony to it. And that's what happened. And it was kind of a thing where I would show people here and there.
Starting point is 00:39:31 I didn't, honestly, I didn't think anybody would even think of it was funny. It was just funny when we were in the studio. And so I made a private link. I showed it to my publisher, Frank LaDelle, like eight months ago. And then I sent it to, like, a couple other people who I can't remember who I sent it to. But whoever those two people are, somehow sent it around. But the weird thing is, is like eight months. passed. And then like last week I was up at the Sundance Film Festival up at the ASCAP,
Starting point is 00:40:02 CMA song right around, and I was on the side of the stage, and I kept getting these texts from people saying, hey man, if this you? And then it would be a screenshot of like somebody that had sent them the song. And these people that were sending it to them, I've never met. And so I looked on my sound, first of all, I didn't know what SoundCloud page I even put a song on. And so in my mind, I'm like, do I need to go in and, like, kill this thing? Oh, no. And then I was like, and then I was like, now, who cares? And so I just, I let it go.
Starting point is 00:40:35 And I looked on the SoundCloud page that had like 300 plays. And then, like, over the next couple days, it was like thousands and thousands of plays. But, yeah, I mean, it's just very random. I don't care that it's out. I just think it's very random that it's out. And, uh, I, in fact, I'll take it. it. I mean, I'll take any PR I can get it, man. If it leads people, if it leads people to my record or whatever, then... And it did that to me. That's amazing, yeah. I'm going to tell you. And,
Starting point is 00:41:05 Dustin, you don't live in Nashville, right? I do. I mean, I kind of do. I mean, I write for carnival out in Nashville, and they're kind enough to me to let me kind of hop around. And so I'm there, like two weeks a month, but I have a house there. Where are you right now? I'm in Utah. Utah's home. Just south of Salt Lake City. So let me say this. I, and just being completely honest and transparent, I wasn't familiar with you as an artist.
Starting point is 00:41:34 Sure. And so this was the first song I heard from you, and I did exactly what you said. Then I went to your record, and I listened to your record last night. And so did you write the song for Dustin Lynch, Love me or leave me alone? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:41:46 I saw that on your record. I co-wrote that with Chris Gilbeuda, and then you could have loved me, Frankie Ballard put on his record. So I did exactly what you said. I was like, let me see what this guy's about. And I led me to his music and his music is good. But I got to just take a step back and go,
Starting point is 00:42:05 parked out by the lake is an absolute hit, Dustin. I'm not kidding you. It's amazing. Hey, well, thank you. Are you going to put it up on iTunes? I mean, I put it up on band camp. Like, if you go to Mike. I don't know what that is.
Starting point is 00:42:19 We need things we know, Dustin. Come on. I know. You know what? Maybe I will. I don't, I like, I put it up, if you go to my Instagram page, which is just Dustin online, there's a link to band camp where you can just buy it. Dustin, come on.
Starting point is 00:42:34 You got to come into the studio, perform this, and then we'll get it up and we'll have a big party. And this song will skyrocket up. I totally will. Okay. Well, totally, when I'm in town, I'll totally come in, we'll do an acoustic performance. Maybe we can talk Cheryl Crow into coming in and singing harmony or something. You saw our tweet you. She was listening to the show, and even she thought it was amazing.
Starting point is 00:42:52 True or false, Dustin? Look, I'll take it. I'll take it. It's probably the only time of my life that Cheryl Crowe's going to tweet about something I did. So that's awesome. Dustin Christensen's on. He's the guy who wrote this hit song parked out by the lake. We have to coordinate and you come in and play and we get it up the same day and watch just people buy it and you turn it to an international superstar because that's what's going to happen.
Starting point is 00:43:14 Okay. Look, I'm on board. Okay. When I'm in town, let's set it up. I'll have my people reach out, whatever that means. and we'll get you in here. I'm a huge fan. I'm your biggest fan, Dustin Christensen.
Starting point is 00:43:25 I'm now your biggest fan. I appreciate it, man. All right, buddy. We'll see you soon, okay? All right. Talk to you later. There he is. Dustin Christensen, man,
Starting point is 00:43:35 parked out by the lake. I mean, should we? Yeah. I have to listen to the song a lot to get the message. Yeah, because you have to... It says a lot. There's a deep meaning behind it.
Starting point is 00:43:49 I have to listen here. Parked out by the lake. Listen closely. I'm still parked out by the lake. So I'll play. 80 miles from Santa Feet. And I'm sitting here just parked out by the lake. This is a Bobby Bonds show.
Starting point is 00:44:06 Bobby Bonds. So I'll play a song. When you know the song, or you know the artist, just yell your name. That would be your buzzer. For example, Amy Buzz in? Amy. There you go. That's a buzzer.
Starting point is 00:44:15 Good. Ready? Yeah. Okay, here we go. Yell your name is the buzzer. Eddie's playing to you. It's Amy to my left. Lunchbox.
Starting point is 00:44:24 and then to my far right as producer Eddie. Here we go. Three, two, one. Name that tune. Amy. Amy. Beyonce, single ladies. Beyonce is correct.
Starting point is 00:44:34 You miss the title of the song. It's still up for grabs, boys. What's the name of this song? Lunchbox. Lunchbox? Crazy love. Correct. Oh, good one.
Starting point is 00:44:49 Wow. Nice work. Oh, oh, oh, oh. Okay, that's number one. Song number two. Name that tune. Eddie. Kerosene Miranda Lambert.
Starting point is 00:45:03 Correct for two. Two point. Okay, okay, okay. By the way, there's a theme involved as soon as you can name it. Yeah, it has something to do with today. Go ahead. Here we go. Number three, name that tune. Amy. Amy. George Strait carrying your love with me.
Starting point is 00:45:23 Wow. Lunchbox. With the drum. Wow. Yeah, this is my jam. And Lunchbox has yelled for the theme. We'll come to you one second here. Dang, Amy, that was a good one.
Starting point is 00:45:33 George Strait. Way back in 97. Stop. That's what it came out. How do you know? It's close. How do you know that? It could be.
Starting point is 00:45:41 But how do you know that? I know that because I was going to my sister's softball tournament and we drove to Uvaldi, Texas, and this song played over and over in the car, and the girls loved this song. I don't even know if that's right, but I'm amazing. I really feel like that's right because I used to drive in my red Bronco when I was 16 with windows down playing this song over and over and over. Lunchbox is called for the theme for five points. Go ahead. They're all about love because it's Valentine's one, baby.
Starting point is 00:46:06 Look at that guy, baby. Yeah. No. He turned you. Waste of a guess. It seemed too easy. Here we go. What?
Starting point is 00:46:15 What's the deal here? Three, two. Eddie. Eddie. Havana, Camilla Cabello. No. Sorry about that. Hey, good waste of a guess.
Starting point is 00:46:27 Sorry. I like the song, but... Oh, dang, I know what it is. Take away your things and you can't take back what you said. Do you know who this is or what the song is, Amy? I mean, I know it. I like him, no clue. Dang it.
Starting point is 00:46:41 Wait. Lunchbox. Go ahead. Alexia Cara. The one name here, remember some earlier this week? 1990. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Starting point is 00:46:52 Go ahead. Alexa Cara. No, no. Dang. I would have given you that because we all have trouble getting that right. Amy, I give you seven more seconds to song.
Starting point is 00:47:05 Nope, I'm playing the chorus. Answer? I don't know. Okay. Oh, yeah, it's blank because it's a theme. I know what it is. That's going to help. I'll tell you.
Starting point is 00:47:22 You don't? Okay, I'll come back to it. Make sure come back to it so the listeners know. Here you go. Last song. Name that tune. Eddie. Eddie.
Starting point is 00:47:31 I think you're pretty. Kelly Clarkson. Time? Kelly Clarkson, one point. Wow. Amy? Our lunchbox, sorry. I know.
Starting point is 00:47:42 It was cool. You were so. Amy. Amy. Did she be gone? Correct. Since you've been gone. Oh, good job, Amy.
Starting point is 00:47:49 Yes, yes. Okay, so now it's over for guessing the theme. I can tell everybody all the songs. Lunch has been eliminated. That one song you didn't get was same old love from Selena Gomez. Oh, Selena. So Beyonce Crazy in Love, Selena Gomez, same old love. Miranda Carasine.
Starting point is 00:48:03 Since you've been gone, Kelly Clarkson, George Strait, Carrying Your Love with Me. Those are the songs. What's the theme? Write it down. What's the score, lunchbox? It's Eddie 3, Amy 4. Me 1. Yeah, we knew that.
Starting point is 00:48:16 So there's one. Two, three, three. Five songs. What's the theme there? What are they all have in common? What do they all have in common? Yeah. What?
Starting point is 00:48:22 What's so different. Oh! Do you have it? Oh my gosh, I'm so dumb. Write it down. Okay. Five seconds. Four.
Starting point is 00:48:31 Three. Okay, I got it. Missing your loved one. Oh. Amy? He missed it. He's already won. What do you have, Amy?
Starting point is 00:48:38 I don't have anything written down. On the kind of three lunchbox. By the way, Amy, you are the winner. Congratulations. Yeah. I'm a team winner. I was a tired, Amy. But you didn't.
Starting point is 00:48:46 Name that two winner, Amy. I don't even know I was going to win without the theme. On the count of three, we'll say what we think it is. Okay. All from Texas. Yeah. Texas Independence. Oh, my God.
Starting point is 00:48:56 National Texas Day. BK's from Texas. Oh, you're right. Amy, congratulations. Amy, big win. Amy, big winner there. There we go. That's good.
Starting point is 00:49:05 Bobby Bones. The Bobby Bones show. I called you back last night, Amy. Oh. Yeah, I know. I think I was... What did you need yesterday? I don't remember.
Starting point is 00:49:15 I don't know. Amy's impossible to get a hold of. I know you guys aren't as close to Amy as I am outside of work. I used to call her before she had kids. Answer the phone. Be like, what up? Now I call her three days later. Hey, did you call?
Starting point is 00:49:27 No time for that. I think my original call was about some Pimp and Joy stuff, actually. And then probably something else. I think something for today. But it's okay. I called you back. And then I just know once it's nighttime, you're gone. I saw you call me back.
Starting point is 00:49:42 Thanks. Don't get me wrong. I just couldn't. Yeah, we had math homework. That's always a... I saw your Insta story of doing math homework with your daughter Yeah
Starting point is 00:49:49 And after she finishes She circles which emoji She feels like like oh that was really hard Like oh it was a confused emoji Or happy emoji like that was pretty easy Yeah or there's the like awesome emoji Which means I could teach this Oh yeah
Starting point is 00:50:03 That's the one she didn't even complete it yet She just said She circled I can teach this and she handed it back to me She's like done I'm like so you know how to do this You could teach it She was like yes
Starting point is 00:50:12 She loves math Oh she loves math So once we actually did the homework, she did know what she was doing, and she actually probably could teach it, but we had to complete it. I had a dinner last night with a friend, a new friend. And so, it's a lovely dinner, too. And the first time we'd ever sat and talk for a couple of hours. And so we're there talking. And I guess we kind of got, as far as me personal, we're just talking about my personal life.
Starting point is 00:50:33 And I said, you know, for the first time ever, I've really made an effort with Amy's kids to go and just be present in a relationship ever with any. anybody. And it was weird for me to say that out. I never thought about that. Because I would go, hey, can I come just hang out? I don't do anything when I go to your house. I do nothing except sit there on the chair. Well, you talk to them and interact with them. But I'm saying I don't go for an event. No, no, no. There's no party. And I said it's the first time I've ever done that with anyone. Wow. I know. It has a little breakthrough for me too because that's a weird. I know they're your kids. I'm not trying to say they're my kids. Oh, okay. I'm not trying to take them. But it's weird. If you want to claim them from time to time.
Starting point is 00:51:11 Because I do feel like, like, I care about them. It's crazy. I love that. I know. Maybe they can help tap into some of this. I think they are a bit because I don't even realize I had that part of me that goes, you know what? I'm actually having fun what I'm doing, but I need to leave and just go sit on a chair and be where these kids can see my face. But then I don't want to do it too much because one less I'm saying, get out of Amy's life.
Starting point is 00:51:32 They're her kids. Wait, what? You didn't see on Twitter? No, but that's right. Anybody see that tweet from us? That doesn't even make sense. Well, anyway, I'm really happy for you. Oh, well, thank you.
Starting point is 00:51:42 I'm kind of happy for this little breakthrough and that you see. said that out loud last night and you're realizing it and thank you for sharing with us too. Like, hmm, that's good. Did he have any thoughts on that? Or you all just kind of? Oh, yeah. I mean, he, we were, I don't know. Wow, deep thoughts with a new friend. Yeah. Well, it's somebody that I really look up to. Sounds like a keeper. And so, yeah, it was, it was great. I probably talked for two hours. You know what? People say they work out. I'm going to tell what happened to me last night. I wasn't even planning to talk about this. And they work out. I hate working out.
Starting point is 00:52:10 I don't get any rush of endorphins after I work out. None of that happens to me. I go work out and I hate it the whole time and I'm done and I'm like, I'm just glad I did it because I have to stay in shape. Two times this week, I've had dinners with people. Maybe I have a dinner once a year, twice a year. Two times this week, two people that I've enjoyed, they're relatively new friends. And both times, I went home and had that rush of endorphins that people talk about after working out. Uh-huh. Where I just, like, feel good because I had actual human, vulnerable conversation.
Starting point is 00:52:39 I had a dinner earlier this week with a friend and his wife. Right. Newish friend. and the last night's part. And I got home and I thought, man, that was a human thing that I enjoyed. I'm not used to that. I'm not used to human things.
Starting point is 00:52:49 I like it. Yeah, it is weird, but I actually felt good. So this could be your... It's tough because it's a weeknight. Yeah, true. You can only squeeze in so many. I think it's like one a quarter, but still...
Starting point is 00:53:00 That's better than one a year. Yeah, it is. But just all joking aside, it was great. And I felt pretty good. Key word felt like you're feeling something. Anyway, I don't want to stay on that too long. I wasn't plan to talk. about that. Yeah, let's move on. But there's a new bobby cast up with Christian Bush. I hope you
Starting point is 00:53:17 listen to it. Christian Bush from Sugarland and, you know, Sugar Land. They're back. They're a band, but Christian's a crazy songwriter. He talks about the beginning of Sugarland and how they started with the three of them. It's a great Bobbycast. And at one point, he talks about how George Strait got sick. So they were like, hey, can you close the end of the A-CMs? Sugarland playing baby girl at the A-CMs. So George Strait's sick. And we were wondering if you would close the show. Jennifer had on the same shoes as like Sarah Evans or something
Starting point is 00:53:48 and she's like, oh, forget it and just threw them off. And then the curtain goes up and we start singing baby girl. And I remember that performance only because I remember her coming out in her bare feet. And this is before they blew up. They just needed someone to fill in at the end of the show. That's funny. And they thought, yeah. And so
Starting point is 00:54:04 Christian, we talked about all kinds of stuff, but his brother, Brandon, was in Train. Because Train needed a piano player and then eventually he just joined the band, but your brother, by the way, Brandon. Brandon also played with Train, right? Yeah, he was the piano player in Train. He got the job after drops at Jupiter because he didn't have a piano player. They had
Starting point is 00:54:22 the song happen, and then they just put the piano on track. Somebody on a computer hits a button, and it plays a piano over the top. There's no piano player out there. There's a computer playing the piano. So we went in to play for them, and then became a part of the band. Because they didn't have a piano player for their biggest song. Isn't that crazy? Crazy.
Starting point is 00:54:39 And they did something called, I believe it was the Suzuki Method, where they teach you as a young, young kid, music as a language. As you're learning language, you learn music at the same time. And they're both super gifted. And that could be a part of why they book. Because I'm like, you're brothers. You're so genetically, both of you are just gifted at music. And you work hard. Anyway, it's a fascinating Bobbycast. So that's up today. It's episode 100. We have over 100 hours. Amazing. Writers, producers, artists that come by my house. What number do you throw a party? 100. Because I always told Mike D. when we started this from my house.
Starting point is 00:55:11 No podcast is real until I hit 100 episodes And we've done 100 So I'm proud of it I am proud of it So Christian Bush, that's up I don't know man So when's the party? Yeah, we just said
Starting point is 00:55:23 In my head right now I had a small one We could have some You know almond flour coconut donuts My dog ate a whole donut last night I have these healthy They're healthy donuts
Starting point is 00:55:35 And that's what they are So made them They don't look great They don't even taste that great but they still are donut-y. Their circles with holes. I laid it on the bedside table for eight seconds. I turned my back to grab my laptop.
Starting point is 00:55:49 That dog ate the whole thing. And I look up and he's like, swallowing it. And I pull out my phone, I can't get it back. And I put my Insta story on him. I said, do you eat the donut? And he just staring at me. I said, you eat the donut?
Starting point is 00:56:01 And he goes, right on the answer story. Unbelievable. Basically, yes, he ate it. For sure, he ate the donut. So a lot of people asking him about my dog. he does have cancer but he is as healthy as I would have ever expected him to be at five months in to when the vet said he probably has six months left he's so good right now it makes me happy for you
Starting point is 00:56:20 so yeah thank you very much he loses his hair a little bit but yeah aren't we all yeah that's a bad you looked at me no wow guilty conscience he didn't look at around the room you looked at me no I didn't aren't we all Eddie no that's not true the Bobby Bones show but if I did I'm sorry I gave you guys a big hint that it wasn't Garth Brooks with the number one selling country album of all time now he has many of the top five
Starting point is 00:56:53 but he doesn't have number one you want to take another shot at it? Johnny Cash no am I too far back? Yeah you're too far back So here we go number five is Garth Brooks the double album live
Starting point is 00:57:08 So 1998 this is number five A live double album Wow It sold a minimum of 10.5 million copies. So it's him just out playing the hits again live. These are songs from it. Number four.
Starting point is 00:57:32 Dixie Chicks, wide open spaces, the record. 1998. 12 million records. I bought one. Yeah, I did too. Like, he's an actual legitimate CD. Cultural phenomenon. on. Many people bought tapes of this.
Starting point is 00:57:52 I mean, Sometimes I wait up crying at night. Yes. Will you sing it? I just heard a four-part harmony. I didn't hear you singing. Oh, I was. Oh, was that you?
Starting point is 00:58:04 Yeah, that was me. Oh, wow. So good. I know. I sound just like Natalie. So that's number four. Oh, is that Marty? That's Amy.
Starting point is 00:58:14 That's me. That's me. That's me. Marty. Yeah. She's one of the Dixie chicks of. Oh, yeah, the sister. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:58:20 And me like, Marty. I was like, Marty. Don't know Marty. Number three, biggest country selling albums ever. 1991, Garth Brooks, Rope in the Wind. Huge songs on this one. The River. Rodeo.
Starting point is 00:58:39 Hoffala, Mama. Oh, great. Yes. 1991. For sure tape. This is tape. For sure tape. For sure tape.
Starting point is 00:58:47 He's wearing blue. Blue and black, striped shirt. Yeah, for sure. Black fell high. Mom's in the graveyard. Poppers in the pin. Number two. Garth Brooks.
Starting point is 00:58:57 What? From 1990, no fences. It sold 17 million records. So, so far, Garth has five, three, and two. Of the top five. On no fences, this is my favorite Garth Brooks song ever. Sometimes I thank God for unanswered prayers.
Starting point is 00:59:17 Remember when you're talking to the man of who shares. And just because he doesn't answer, doesn't mean he don't care. Oh, come on. Some of God's greatest gifts are unanswered prayers. Wow. Dang. So true. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:59:42 And then the number one? Any final guesses. Any final guesses. I got a guess. Go ahead. Lunchbox. Taylor Swift. Taylor Swift, he says.
Starting point is 00:59:48 Oh, good one. No, not even close. What? I thought you're hitting the dean. No, no, no, no. George Straight. When I tell you, you'll go, oh, duh. Oh.
Starting point is 00:59:58 I didn't know it'd be number one. How about we get a hint? And by the way, Garth Brooks is the biggest selling U.S. artist of all time, period. Solo artist, period ever. Right. Why do you think I guess him is number one? Oh, my goodness. Is it Chris Gaines?
Starting point is 01:00:10 I get it. No, it's not Chris Gaines. I know it. Shania. Shania Twain. Oh, uh-oh. Come on over, sold 30 million. Of course.
Starting point is 01:00:19 Wow. Of course. Imagine, she launches a country, goes to pop, and then is international. It's the international phenomenon. 30 million records. Shania Twain, biggest country record of all times. So congratulations to her. Like she just won.
Starting point is 01:00:49 Just a little music history for you. I mean, Garth dominating the top five. With two of the top five. Three in the top five. Shania crushing it at number one. And the Dixie Chicks, you forget how... So you have two female. a group and a female and then Garth.
Starting point is 01:01:02 Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Amazing. That's right. The 10 most common impulse buys. I ask you, I mean, what's your biggest impulse buy? You go and you just, whoop, do you got it. I have to have it. Food are like clothes. Right now I'm really into sweaters, kind of buying those off Instagram a lot, but that's kind of a new thing because the ads pop up. It's fair, though, if you're doing it now. Sweeters? Right now. Sweeters on Instagram. Lunchbox, what's your impulse buy? I buy DVDs from the dollar bin at Walmart. You do? Do you find anything good in there? Because when I look, it's only Nick Cage movies that I've never seen.
Starting point is 01:01:34 It's usually a lot of older movies. And I've never seen them, so I buy them and then I usually don't watch them. It's only a dollar. But it's so exciting because they're only a dollar. I'm like, those used to be like $9. Mine's probably shoes. I love shoes. You know what they call me?
Starting point is 01:01:51 Shoe, boy! Yeah, do they? You've definitely amp that up a little bit or made it more. last couple years. Not cool. Because it was shoe boy. Oh, you mean the name. Shoe boy?
Starting point is 01:02:04 And now it's shoe boy? Well, I just want people started to call me. I walked down the street and they'd be like, shoe boy! And I'd be like, do you talking to me? Of course they're talking to you. It's not like, oh, there's that shoe boy over there. No, they're like, hey, Bobby!
Starting point is 01:02:14 I'm like, hey, shoe boy! I'm like, yep, what up? It's a lot of effort in calling you out with that. Shoep boy. What's up? Are you talking to me? Oh, yes. Oh, I just heard that.
Starting point is 01:02:25 You got to yell that. You got to have something to say to him. Yeah, yeah, sorry. That's like the bat signal. If you say it like that, you can say like, hey, your nickname, Shoeboy, I'd be like, yeah. But if someone go, shoot, boy! I go into action. You're ready.
Starting point is 01:02:34 Mine's shoes. I love shoes. Not even just sneakers, all shoes. Shoes in the morning. Shoes in breakfast. Shoes in the night. I feel like it's mostly sneakers. Shoes in my dreams.
Starting point is 01:02:43 The number one impulse buy for people is candy. Clothes is at number two. Coffee's at number three. Shoes is at number four. Mostly women. And you. And you. And me.
Starting point is 01:02:54 And shoot, boy. And then magazines. newspapers at five. Magazine, the newspapers are in those. Oh, probably because you're checking out, and that's right by the candy and the... They're smart when they did that, but it's also annoying, especially many of kids.
Starting point is 01:03:06 Wee! Yeah, for the kids, I can see that. I'm like, stop people with the candy. They probably did that just... Of course they did. It's marketing genius. And you're checking out and you're trying to get out of the store, so you're like, okay, fine.
Starting point is 01:03:18 Just throw it on the conveyor bell. Is that easier to say yes? Has that happened? Maybe. Once or twice or every time. I never thought I would do that. When you take them to the store, do they want stuff every time? Yeah, I'm going to stop doing that.
Starting point is 01:03:32 You're going to, so you still do it then? If I have to, if I'm in a bind, but I'm really trying, I'm just going to not do that. We're going to limit that for a little bit. We're in time out when it comes to stores. What's my name? Shoot, boy. Thank you. Bobby Bones.
Starting point is 01:03:47 You're so dumb. The Bobby Bones show. Apparently women find men more attractive who already have someone and who are already in a relationship. Apparently women find men that way? So. Oh, that's why some, oh, what did I saw some article about single men wearing a wedding ring? To get someone to talk to them. I thought, well, that's bizarre, but I mean, if that study, maybe that's why?
Starting point is 01:04:15 My only problem with that is, do you really want to date someone who's going after a married man? Yeah. That would be my problem. I guess these guys are just really trying to get a date. Yeah, I guess. They're not married, though. According to a new study, some women are attracted to married and taken men because they think if someone else has them, they must be a catch.
Starting point is 01:04:35 So look at someone like me who I don't have anybody, but it's less attractive because they don't have anybody. So then if I get somebody, but then I'm happy, then it just isn't unfair. Yeah. Scientist says men get an attractiveness boost if they're popular with other women, meaning a woman wants them in a relationship with them. Wow. That's a real kick in the nats, huh?
Starting point is 01:04:55 Do you find that lunchbox? Oh, everywhere you go. And by you, you mean you. Yes. Now that you're married. Like, at a bar, women see the ring. I guess maybe they see you as safe, so they start talking to you more,
Starting point is 01:05:09 they flirt more, and there's no commitment, maybe is what they're thinking. Well, they can get no commitment any time. I don't think that's it. Even with single guys. Yeah. No, because they know the married man is going to have to go back to his wife eventually.
Starting point is 01:05:23 Yeah, I don't know. I don't think that's the thing. Do you find more women coming up to you propositioning you that you're married? I was pretty popular with the ladies before, but after I got married, it's tenfold. Okay. It's tenfold? Yes. You think it's ten times what it was when you were single?
Starting point is 01:05:39 Yes, everywhere I go. Oh, I started to think he didn't know what Timfold meant. Yes, everywhere I go, at least one woman hits on me. Wow. How do you deal with that? It's really hard for you to go places. Yeah, that must be rough, man. That's like a lot.
Starting point is 01:05:52 It's hard to go eat out in public because of the women who look at you. you, they come up to you, you can't eat. The waitress. Do you feel like... That's a lot of it. The waitresses, they really... They're trying to get a good tip. That's what you think. They're being nice. They're like, he's like, they ask me if I want to refill. So you think the waitresses when you go to restaurants always are on it with you.
Starting point is 01:06:13 Yes, absolutely. And it's uncomfortable with you and your wife because the waitresses think that they... My wife sometimes asks me, how do you know them? I don't. You bring you extra chips I have no idea They're all smiling at you and stuff Yes absolutely
Starting point is 01:06:33 Do they want to get you other stuff Can I get you anything? Do you want something else? Do you need a dessert menu? Things like that I mean they were real attentive to my needs That's weird They probably don't do that to anybody else
Starting point is 01:06:43 No probably not They probably don't do that single guys at all They walk in there's a single guy They're like what you want yell it, I'll be in the bag Serve yourself Get your own food My glass never gets below half empty.
Starting point is 01:06:55 Wow. That's cool, man. It's tough to deal with. Do you see... What about your wife when she's with you? They just ignore her. Yeah. Do you see heads turn to you?
Starting point is 01:07:09 When you walk, the girls will do the neck break. Like, whoa, like rubber necking. They turn around if you walk down the street. For you. Yes. Do you think any of them just know, hey, it's the guy from the radio? Mm-hmm. That could be part of it, but it could also be like, there goes a stud.
Starting point is 01:07:27 Oh, terminology from 1987. Stud. Nothing. No one says that anymore. Yeah, maybe not to you. Oh, that's true. That's true. I'm sorry. Hey, come on.
Starting point is 01:07:38 They do the headbreak when they do the stud. They talk to the hand. The rubber-knicking. Well, thanks for that glimpse into your life. Has that ever caused a fight with you and your wife? I wouldn't say fight, but it makes it uncomfortable sometimes. I tell her if you don't want to deal with that, maybe we shouldn't go out in public. I think it would help her find you more attractive.
Starting point is 01:07:57 She's like, whoa. He comes home with me. Yeah, that kind of thing. She does think that. In the back of her mind, I tell her, just think. I'm coming home with you, so you don't have to worry about these other ships. She does think that. I tell her.
Starting point is 01:08:11 In the back of her mind, I tell her. Thank you. Like, guys. Oh, my goodness. I was like, just sit over there and let them flirt. You know what you're getting when you get on. Yeah. I really do kind of wonder what she gets.
Starting point is 01:08:22 Me too, but then I thought wondering Because it gets too gross Yeah Get your Bobby bones on I have an armpit Thing It's like a big knot I'm an armpit
Starting point is 01:08:34 That's not good I know And either I pulled the armpit Or I have like a lymph node swelling up Oh oh I know I mean really that's not good I know
Starting point is 01:08:43 Well what are you gonna do about it Well I got an Instagram And I got an Instagram And did you get any doctors Replying? No, I think so Hold on let me check my answer story. Okay. Because
Starting point is 01:08:52 my arm, it hurts. If I was a doctor, I'd be all about that. I'd be looking for injuries on Insta story and I'd contact people and be like, you need help. Here we go. Here's me on Insta story yesterday. Arm pit sore. Wow. Am I dying? It's swollen. So that's my answer story. I'm worried about that. You could be dying.
Starting point is 01:09:29 I thought the same thing. Or I just pulled the armpit. I'm worried about how you're whining in that thing. Like, what's wrong with you? Yeah, you sound like a real... Like, you know, you know single gay ladies are watching those? Single gay ladies. No, single ladies are watching those videos. I'm not trying to get a lady.
Starting point is 01:09:44 I'm so out of the getting a lady game. I have no interest in ladies or any dudes or anything. Single ladies, single straight ladies, single gay ladies. That's not what I said. Like, you're not even trying to date. No, no. Hold on, hold on. This is not fair.
Starting point is 01:10:00 First of all, they trashed the glasses. It is like not happening. I got new glasses. And I put a picture on Instagram. And most of the listeners, they're saying kind things. Amy didn't She said to look like an old man Eddie said it looked like
Starting point is 01:10:12 Al Franken Al Franken Yeah And yeah I don't care I'm done I know you do you You shouldn't care I'm done
Starting point is 01:10:21 I may never be in a relationship again Ever? I'm done Well that's not the spirit Is it not? No I'm done I'm out Oh well back to the pulled armpit
Starting point is 01:10:31 Like what So what do you think it is? I know You need to go check that out I think it's probably The worst I always think I'm dying. Automatically, you're going to think it's the worst.
Starting point is 01:10:40 I think I'm dying all the time. Well, if there's some sort of a lump, yeah. You need to get a looked at. By the way, has anyone seen Morgan No, 2's Instagram post where she put out this big message about life? No, she does that a lot, then she? Was it a video or a picture? No, the picture, and I started to go, what's on her mind?
Starting point is 01:10:56 Morgan number two is 24. And maybe people just do this. Like 24-year-old's do it? Yeah, we all struggle in our own way. We all face battles. Others know nothing about. It's important to remember that you're human and all the bad stuff is okay.
Starting point is 01:11:08 It's life. You can't pick it up and live there. Find the people who bring you happiness. And I started to think to myself, I agree with this, but what's going on in your life to write this? Oh, maybe she's just trying to be encouraging. Let me see the picture that it goes with it.
Starting point is 01:11:18 It's her sitting on stairs, not smiling. Reflecting? Yeah. Oh, boy. Is this a boyfriend thing, Morgan number two? No, it's not a boyfriend thing. But something made you write this. Go ahead.
Starting point is 01:11:27 No, I was just, I struggle with anxiety pretty bad. And I was going through a really rough time. And I was like, you know, if I'm going through this right now, just kind of out of the blue, somebody else probably is too. You should write that. I'm struggling and here's a message. Because I just read this and I go, what's happening? What's wrong?
Starting point is 01:11:43 Do I need to, because she writes at the end, if you're struggling with anything, there is help. I love you. And I'm thinking, who is she writing this to? I love you? So I didn't reach out until two days later, but I'm here. Hey, we're here for you, Morgan. Appreciate that, guys. But just, you can say, hey, I'm struggling with anxiety and then the message.
Starting point is 01:12:00 Okay, I'll start putting it at the beginning. Otherwise, I worry. Okay. Well, don't worry about me. I'm doing okay now. And I like you. That's a good thing. Thanks, guys. He liked you.
Starting point is 01:12:11 Yeah, I like you. Here's Amy's pile of stories. So if you listen to the show, we make you laugh and you're actually burning calories. Oh, good. So we'll charge you for your weight loss. Vandervelt did a study, and they say that just 10 to 15 minutes of laughing a day can burn like 50 calories. That's a lot of laughing, though, 10 to 15 minutes of nonstop laughing. Oh, hopefully I was seeing that was spread out throughout.
Starting point is 01:12:35 the day, you know? It's a lot of laughing. We're good. I like, what's funny to you right now? Because I watched Rick and Morty. I watched this show. Man, I don't recommend it because it's not for everybody's taste.
Starting point is 01:12:45 I laugh out loud at Rick and Morty. It's my favorite cartoon now. I laugh the most here. Yeah? Yeah, with you guys. Yeah, I laugh here too, but outside of this. Yeah, I'm not watching anything funny. Just kids?
Starting point is 01:12:55 The kids can make you laugh. Sometimes they do. Yeah. Your son makes me laugh. Holy cow. He has a piercing laugh. He goes, Huh!
Starting point is 01:13:04 Yeah, you're right. I mean, it is a slow build and a volcano of laughter. Y'all will never see this, but he has a pretty cute shower dance that makes me laugh. I mean, the minute the water hits his body, it's like, oh, he just starts, like, really dancing. And it's so funny. I'm like, I'm going on, please. No, no, no, no. No story.
Starting point is 01:13:21 Is that? No, no, yeah, go ahead. Yeah, I believe you. Yeah, I believe it. Well, I mean, I just hope, you know, okay. His wife might have pretty at that one day. So, you're wasting money on a gym membership. If you feel like you are, you're not alone.
Starting point is 01:13:33 67% of people don't use their job. gym memberships and they are spending $58 a month. $58 a month for something that you're not using and it's just auto-draft out of that account. If you add that up over the year, I mean, you could have gotten something pretty cool. Yeah. And what happens though is instead of canceling it, people go, no, I'm eventually going to go back. So I don't want to cancel it. I'm eventually going to go back. My friend was just telling me yesterday she pays, I think she said $58 a month to the YMCA, but she never goes. But she feels like the Y is a community thing. She feels like it's her donation to the community. She's like, I don't cancel it because, you know, it helps
Starting point is 01:14:03 the city. People with glasses are considered smarter and more trustworthy. Interesting. All I know is I was getting hammered by you guys this morning for my new glasses, which there's an Instagram picture up of my new glasses. You can judge for yourself. These aren't my everyday, all day glasses. Those are still the big black rim glasses. These are circular, much more scientific. Ah. Yeah. So there's the whole smarter, trustworthy thing, but 12% of women find men more attractive with glasses. I don't know them. Those aren't the ones that hang around with me. Not a high percentage, but still.
Starting point is 01:14:37 I can't see. I tell you, my right eye just doesn't work. I have what's considered a lazy eye, meaning it doesn't even try. It moves. They move together. Watch them. Are they together? They're moving.
Starting point is 01:14:47 Watching me now. Yeah. But it doesn't work. It doesn't even try. And I had to wear a patch over my good eye just to strengthen my bad eyes as a kid, and I get beat up so many times. I stopped wearing the patch. So I just have one eye that doesn't work.
Starting point is 01:14:59 I was at the glasses store yesterday? Yeah. Is that why you didn't have glasses on they were working on? It's like Candyland to me. I love it. Went to the glasses store and they tightened a bunch of them, like five pair of them because my head is somehow getting bigger as my vision gets worse. Interesting.
Starting point is 01:15:12 Which is amazing. Oh, so now they won't like fall off your head. Right. Just fit you perfectly. So Bobby, I know you started doing hot yoga and I'm a huge fan of that and I always thought there was more health benefits to it. But a new study came out saying that doing yoga at room temperature is just the same at doing it at 100 degrees.
Starting point is 01:15:29 So if you don't want to put yourself through the pain of the 100 degrees, unless you just really like to sweat. You can just do yoga in the comfort of your own home. I like the sweating, though. Me too. I just feel like it's a cleansing. Detoxing. And it loosens me up because I'm pretty tight.

Starting point is 01:16:03 Yes. He says, this is not a drill. Missiles coming to town. Something like that. And everybody flipped. And I would have to, just, and I kind of relived this today after it happened. Imagine you look at your phone and it just says there's a bomb coming. You freak out.
Starting point is 01:16:21 Yeah. If you see there's a bomb coming. And in the words, this is not a drill, you really freak out. Yeah. So the unnamed man they just fired. He had worked for the Hawaii Emergency Management Agency for 10 years. He had previously confused a tsunami drill and a fire drill for real-life disasters. Oh, this was his thing.
Starting point is 01:16:40 Oh, he's done that before. This is, yes. His superiors had to speak with him about those incidents. Other workers had said they knew he couldn't do the job. Despite their concerns, he was allowed to keep his job and have access to the alert system. On January 13th, he heard the words, this is not a drill. And he's out the training exercise, and he just hit the button. Oh, my goodness.
Starting point is 01:17:01 According to the story, it was not correct. from the 38 minutes. He was fired, and the HEMA, H-GMA boss, resigned as well. Wow. So, I just, I don't know what I would have done. Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't Homer Simpson? Isn't that kind of his job, too, like in the cartoon? Well, Homer works.
Starting point is 01:17:25 At the nuclear plant? At the nuclear plant. And he has a job to look over the button. Would you say that's the same job, Mike? He controls melt down. He controls melt. the meltdown. So he's kind of like the Homer Simpson of Hawaii.
Starting point is 01:17:39 That's a great analysis. It took a second. If you've seen the Simpsons, I haven't. What? I mean, I've seen it once or twice, but I never have watched a full episode of the Simpsons. Let's get rid of her. What? I'm scared rid of her.
