Starting point is 00:00:00 This is an I-Heart podcast. Guaranteed Human. It's Financial Literacy Month, and the podcast, Eating While Broke, is bringing real conversations about money, growth, and building your future.
Starting point is 00:00:13 This month, hear from top streamer, Zoe Spencer, and venture capitalist Lakeisha Landrum-Pierre, as they share their journeys from starting out to leveling up. There's an economic component
Starting point is 00:00:24 to communities thriving. If there's not enough money and entrepreneurship happening in communities, they fail. Listen to Eating While Broke from the Black Effect Podcast Network on the Iheart radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcast. Hey, I'm Dr. Maya Shunker, a cognitive scientist and hosts of the podcast, a slight change of plans, a show about who we are and who we become when life makes other plans. I wish that I hadn't resisted for so long the need to change. We have to be willing to live with a kind of uncertainty that none of us likes.
Starting point is 00:00:58 You can have opinions. You can have like a strong stance. And then there's your body having its own program. Listen to a slight change of plans on the Iheart radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. On a recent episode of the podcast Money and Wealth with John Hobriant, I sit down with Tiffany the budgetista Aliche to talk about what it really takes to take control of your money. What would that look like in our families if everyone would. was able to pass on wealth to the people when they're no longer here. We break down budgeting, financial discipline,
Starting point is 00:01:34 and how to build real wealth, starting with the mindset shifts. Too many of us were never, ever taught. If you've ever felt you didn't get the memo on money, this conversation is for you to hear more. Listen to Money and Wealth with John Hope Bryant from the Black Effect Network on the I'd Heart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcast. He's going to love that.
Starting point is 00:02:27 Yeah, right? Did you see that video of him shooting? I mean... We're recording. Oh, we are? Yeah. Oh. People got to hear my hit.
Starting point is 00:02:35 That was for our nephew. Yeah. Parker Gasso. If you know. If you couldn't tell. I walked down and I was going to record because I was going to do a little one-man action here, which I'm very, uh, appreciate you came down here. And my guitar is here. I didn't know if it was tuned and it was.
Starting point is 00:02:52 So our nephew Parker oddly likes to watch my comedy special. Bobby Show. Which he calls Bobby Show. And so he doesn't know what the jokes mean, but he thinks it's funny that I'm on TV. So when I pull my guitar out, I wrote that I wrote it. I just played a bunch of chords and yelled his name over and over again. And then just sent that over as you're walking down. Yeah, because his favorite part of the special is the Raging Idiots section.
Starting point is 00:03:19 Yeah. Who's, you know? Whose isn't? Yeah. Yeah. Okay. So first of all, thank you. I can't hear you in my headphones.
Starting point is 00:03:27 What? I can't hear you in my headphones. I can only hear you in the room. Yeah. Huh. I don't know how to work this thing. You're just going to have to hear me in the room, I think. Okay. You can't hear me at all? No, but I can hear myself. And that's the part I care about. What? La, la, la, how about now? Can you hear me? Okay. Okay, so I made a list of things because I was just going to talk a bit about vacation. I didn't really want to talk about it a bunch on the show. Okay. Because I'm kind of embarrassed, so I didn't talk about it a lot. And so I was going to talk. First, I got detained by French authorities.
Starting point is 00:04:08 I have notes. But see, you're going to ruin the stories. Yeah, because that's a lie. It's not a lie. It's an absolute lie. It is not a lie. I was detained by French authorities. You weren't.
Starting point is 00:04:20 Okay, I'll give my version. Okay. We go on a trip. And on this trip, we fly. live from Nashville to London, there's a non-stop. It's pretty nice. It's pretty legit, isn't it? It's so nice, yeah.
Starting point is 00:04:34 We're in London and the airport for like three hours, and from London, we fly to Paris as I'm getting off the plane in Paris. Everybody's walking through, and two cops stop physically, put their hands on me and stop me. True or false? All I want, true or false. Do they put their hands on me and stop me? False.
Starting point is 00:04:53 That's not true. Because they didn't. You said, did they put their hands? hands on me. Multiple hands were not on you. One woman, because they were checking. I don't see gender. All I saw was a police officer. Okay, one police officer. Is it my turn to tell the story now? Oh, no, but I just asked the question. You said true or false. Fine. It was false. So this officer grabs me and holds me. You're out of your mind. It says, I need to see your identification, sir. And I'm like, oh my God, I'm going to French jail. None of this is true. And so I, I didn't think
Starting point is 00:05:28 she's talking to me because she was treating me like, it's a criminal. And so then I'm like, oh, sorry, sorry, because you knew that I didn't think they were talking to me. Because I kept, I kept walking. What? They were talking to everybody. No, they didn't stop everybody. They only, they stopped me because I looked like, I looked like Billy B.A. Everyone listening, please know that none of this is true. You were half asleep behind me. No, I wasn't. I didn't sleep by wing. I got detained by French authorities. And then finally I pulled my stuff out and they let me go through. They didn't stop you. Yes, they did. No, they didn't. Yes, they did. I had to show my passport right after you.
Starting point is 00:05:59 I didn't have to show my passport. I had to basically get on the ground and get, I got cuffed. What happened is there are two French police officers. Full gear, like bulletproof vests. No bulletproof vests. You were out of your mind.
Starting point is 00:06:11 I don't think you were out of your mind. I think you were out of your mind. Go ahead. And they were checking everyone's passports when they got off the plane and we both got off the plane and you, and so they're blocking like, what do you call the hallway
Starting point is 00:06:26 that you walk down? I called it. penitentiary row because that's where I was going. So, you know, when you get off the plane... Dead man walking. That's what I was feeling like. When you get off the plane, there's like that hallway thing, makeshift, before you can... And then you step into the actual airport.
Starting point is 00:06:41 They were standing to block where you could step into the airport. Yeah. Taking people's, everyone's... No. Yes, passports and just looking at their photo, making sure all is good. I appreciate that. Maybe that there was a reason that they did that we watch enough shows about international espionage and crime to know that maybe there was a reason they were doing that.
Starting point is 00:07:04 Whatever. You didn't see what I saw. I was in the lead. They didn't stop everybody else. They stopped me. For some reason. They stopped every other person. If you were in the lead, how do you know they weren't stopping other people? I was detained by French authorities. So they were checking everyone's passport. Did they touch you? They touched me. They grabbed me. No, because I handed them my passport. You didn't hand them your passport. You were like, oh, yeah, I'll get it. Because you have a problem with authority. And so they were not letting you buy until you showed them your passport and you were like, oh, okay, well, and then you were rummaging through your backpack and
Starting point is 00:07:32 tried to step beyond them. And you were like, I'll just step over, get out of the way. And one woman very politely just held her hand out to say, like, you can't pass here. French law enforcement grabbed me. No, and it barely brushed your arm. Her little sweet hand. Her hand was not little or sweet and she had on bulletproof gear. And she said, oh, I thought I was going to French jail. Okay. And they don't serve croissants in French jail. And I was... You don't know that.
Starting point is 00:08:03 I'm going to be honest, I was a little scared. You weren't scared. This is the silliest thing in the world because none of this happened. I felt like it did. It's my version. So, oh, we should say why we went. For a vacation. What do you mean?
Starting point is 00:08:22 Why did we go? We went... Oh, ye of little love. Oh, you got it for me for Valentine's Day. Yeah. I thought we were going in the summer. Well, we never said. We said we...
Starting point is 00:08:37 Actually, you did. You said that we would go in the next eight months. I said we would try to go to Paris in the next eight months. But you also had casually tossed out there at some point you'd like to see what Austria was like. And I listen. Yeah. You act like I don't listen. But I listen.
Starting point is 00:08:55 There are two things I do. One, when authority tries to buck me, I buck back. Uh-huh. I think they know who they're messing with. Number two is I listen to what you say. and you said you wanted to go. And so during March Madness, we went on a trip.
Starting point is 00:09:11 Well, yeah, I didn't plan the dates, obviously. Exactly. You planned it during March Maddenance. Exactly, because that's how much I love you. Oh, that makes no. No, it does. Yes, it does. Me showing suffer shows you
Starting point is 00:09:22 how much I will suffer for you. No, suffering doesn't equate love in all. That's why sometimes when I take, I'm in the closet and I take a belt and I whip myself on my back, just whack, whack. I do that just to show you how much I love you. I'm like,
Starting point is 00:09:34 for you, whack. Message received. Yeah, and that's why my back got all those marks on it. They're not moles. They're not moles. I was biting my tongue. They're not gross moles. They're not gross moles that sometimes have little hairs going out of them.
Starting point is 00:09:52 They're not like moles that aren't on my head that you don't like to scratch my head because you run over them with your fingers and go, oh, that feels like a bumpy dirt road. Yeah. That's not what that is. No. No, those are, that's from the belt buckle of me slapping my back. Maybe Orion's belt. other constellations.
Starting point is 00:10:07 Okay, that's rude. So as a Valentine's gift, because you do, and I say this in the most loving way, it's murderers row with you from December to mid-February. Yeah. But you deserve it. It sucks for you. You had to grow up your whole life and have Christmas and your birth right by each other. If I try to do it as good a job as I can of separating them,
Starting point is 00:10:27 and they don't even exist near each other in my mind. You do do a good job of separating them except for. Oh, that's always an acceptable. Well, she's when I'm detained by French authorities. You use, sometimes you use Christmas wrapping paper for my birthday, and I don't like that. I'd rather just not be wrapped.
Starting point is 00:10:47 Like, I don't even care for... I can't believe that's even a thing. Yeah. How is that a thing? I would use whatever's wrap. I don't even know that it's Christmas. That's funny to me. I didn't even know that was a thing
Starting point is 00:10:59 because it wouldn't matter what the wrapping paper was. I would just use it because it's wrapping paper. I did not know that even popped into your head. No, it's just like, oh, it's just left over Christmas wrapping paper. But regardless, it's fine. I would rather you just not wrap anything. That's funny, though.
Starting point is 00:11:16 Then put, like, Santa on my birthday guess. I'd like to apologize. No, there's no need for an apology. I would like to apologize. I do. This is a sincere one because I have tried to be very deliberate about not mixing up because they're basically a week apart, not mixing up, or having them shade each other in any way your birthday and Christmas.
Starting point is 00:11:38 You do a great job of that. I did not realize that the Santa paper was a bit of a trigger. No, it's not a trigger. I don't know. It sure popped out pretty quick. It's the only thing I could think of that you did wrong. Wrong? It's not even wrong.
Starting point is 00:11:54 And then Valentine's Day, and I think even with Valentine's Day, you know, I don't know that Valentine's Day of the three ranks anywhere near, but it's still like for you to feel special. and that's the only thing that I can halfway do decents by gifts. That's it. That's not true.
Starting point is 00:12:08 I think that's what I'm pretty good at when it comes to expression. Oh, I don't think so at all. Well, thank you. And so for Valentine's, I had three gifts for you. And I brought the first one in and you opened it up and you were like,
Starting point is 00:12:25 what is this? Sourcrum. Well, as soon as I opened the pretzel, I knew it was a trip. But you didn't open the pretzel first. You opened the sourcrow first. Which I have. ever when I opened first. I knew it was a trip
Starting point is 00:12:36 at that point because it made no sense. It was something I didn't eat. No, it was a pretzel. I opened the pretzel first. You didn't know it was a trip immediately. Yes, I did. As soon as I saw a pretzel, I'm like this is a trip, but I couldn't connect. The sourcrow. No, it wasn't. Then the pretzel then the prasone. I opened the kids. I gave them to you in the order. No, you didn't. I grabbed them.
Starting point is 00:12:52 No, I gave them to you an order. Because I knew what... Everyone listening? This is not true. I was detained by French authorities. No, I wasn't. So I gave her a thing of sauerkraut. I gave her a pretzel from Annie Ann's that had been sitting for like 12 hours and then a croissant and then
Starting point is 00:13:08 you're like it's just a trip and then you're putting it together and then from that I said yes we're going to go to Paris then we're going to take it train to Germany and then we're going to go from Germany to Austria Vienna Austria
Starting point is 00:13:24 Yep Are you turning family text message thread? I was just looking at it I haven't looked at it since I heard of my I couldn't watch the video obviously but loved it the first time. Then we played it. Oh, is your mom with them right now? Yeah, she's there. He loved it the first time, then we played it again. He wanted to, dang it. Do you have AI that kind of gives
Starting point is 00:13:45 you the, yeah, I hate it. He loved it the first time. Then he, we played it again, and he wanted to watch Little Bear again. Wait, why you only, what the crap? He gave up on it? Hold on. I think he watched it twice. But he's watching a show at the same time. Turn the show off when you're showing my show. Oh, there's another video now. Oh, look at his face Oh, he's dancing Yeah I love to see he's shaking that thing
Starting point is 00:14:26 Oh, like I'm shaking, look him dancing Oh, oh, he's choking Save him Oh, he's dancing again, let out of him go Look at him go Look at his belly Uh-oh Are you trying to turn it off?
Starting point is 00:14:50 He turned it off Off Because he wants to watch Little Bear I hate Little Bear He already watched it twice Look at him now All done Did you like it?
Starting point is 00:15:24 Yeah Was it really good? Mommy. Was that your Uncle Bobby? I was like a bear. He was like the little bear. Yeah. What's his name?
Starting point is 00:15:35 Bobby. Bobby Shaw. Bobby Shabby. Bobby Shabon. Bobby Bones. I don't like him. I don't like him now learning that your name is Bobby Bones. Why?
Starting point is 00:15:49 Because it's not your name, and that's confusing. The comedy special wasn't comedically inspirational with Bobby Bones. estal. Right, but he doesn't, like, he's going to grow up thinking your last name's bones. Well, whatever. He wants to watch a little Barry and getting any more songs for me. It's the last time I write him original song. He's a cutie. Let's take a quick pause for a message from our sponsor. A win is a win. A win is a win. I don't care what you're saying. Yep, that's me, Cliver Taylor the 4th. You might have seen the skits, the reactions, my journey from basketball to college football, or my career in sports media.
Starting point is 00:16:24 Somewhere along the way, this platform became bigger than I ever imagined. And now I'm bringing all of that excitement to my brand new podcast, The Clifford Show. Listen to the Clifford show on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcast. And for more behind the scenes, follow at Clifford and at TikTok podcast network on TikTok. You can have opinions. You can have like a strong stance.
Starting point is 00:17:19 And then there's your body having its own program. I'm Dr. Maya Shunker, a cognitive scientist and hosts of the podcast, a slight change of plans, a show about who we are and who we become when life makes other plans. We share stories and scientific insights to help us all better navigate these periods of turbulence and transformation. There is one finding that is consistent, and that is that our resilience rests on our relationships. I wish that I hadn't resisted for so long the need to change.
Starting point is 00:17:53 We have to be willing to live with a kind of uncertainty that none of us likes. Listen to a slight change of plans on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. When you listen to podcasts about AI and tech and the future of humanity, the hosts always act like they know what they're talking about and they are experts at everything. Here, the Nick Dick and Poll Show, we're not afraid to make mistakes. What Coogler did that I think was so unique. He's the writer-director. Who do you think he is? I don't know.
Starting point is 00:18:30 You mean the president? You think Canada has a president? You think China has a president? Those law crusade. God, I love that thing. I use it all the time. I wrap it in a blanket and sing to it at night. It's like the old Polish saying,
Starting point is 00:18:47 not my monkeys, not my circus. It was a good one. I like that saying. It is an actual Polish saying. It is an actual Polish saying. Better version of Play Stupid Games, Wednesday. Stupid prizes. Yes.
Starting point is 00:18:58 Which, by the way, wasn't Taylor Swift, who said that for the first time. I actually, I thought it was. I got that wrong. Listen to the Nick, Dick, and Paul show on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. And we're back on the Bobbycast. So we go to Paris and we spend a few days in Paris. Three nights, say? Three nights in Paris, yes.
Starting point is 00:19:27 And I surprised her because I pulled out the old red peat coat, which I hit in my luggage. And I wanted to look as Parisians. as possible. And I showed up and all of a sudden I'm like, all right, it's day two. Day two, I didn't break it out for day one. You didn't bring it out for day one. I knew you had something up your sleeve because you told me. You're like, I have a thicker coat too. But it was cold, so of course I would have a thicker coat. But I know your inventory and I couldn't think of what on earth you would bring because you're kind of notorious for not bringing a coat in the dead of winter. If it's snowing, if we're going to Utah, you don't bring a coat. I feel like I'll be inside enough.
Starting point is 00:20:03 Why am I going to be outside? Why don't I need a coat if I'm going to be inside the whole? all the whole time. I'm just saying that I was, I wasn't sure what coat he brought. But when I turned the corner and I was in that red long peat coat, what'd you think? Come on. Oh, he's in a red long pea coat. No, more than that. Come on.
Starting point is 00:20:20 No, that's what I thought. No, but he thought, like, ooh, he's in a red coat. He looks like he's a native. No, I appreciated the effort in the wardrobe. Like, I appreciated you wanting to, like, wear something nice. I wanted to look sophisticated. Right.
Starting point is 00:20:40 Because you looked sophisticated. Thank you. You always look sophisticated. No, no. Look at me right now. Yeah, you're right. It's a good point. That's why the cameras are on.
Starting point is 00:20:50 But I wore that and then I had a scarf and I brought my own scarf, which you had no idea, except I later learned that it was actually your scarf. Yeah, you brought my scarf. Well, but I did bring a scarf. You did. And then I argued that it was my scarf until you said,
Starting point is 00:21:04 know that is a scarf from Eritzia, which is on a women's store until I was able to see that myself. I did not believe you and then it was. And so then I traded scarves with you and you took the brown one that was yours and I took a black one that was yours and then I wore the scarf except I didn't really know how to wear a scarf because I've never done much scarf wearing. And you would think a loving supportive wife whose husband has just been held by French authorities would be, hey, I'll help you but instead you let me look foolish for about two hours wearing the scarf. I told you you looked like Edgar Allan Poe and you were wearing a scarf like they wore, I think, in the 90s.
Starting point is 00:21:39 How am I supposed to wear it? That's the only thing that I know. No, it wasn't the vibe. But we fixed it. So I put the scarf on and I like threw it around my neck. And then it was fine. And then we went into a store and I saw how they were hanging up on a, like, it wasn't a mannequin, but it was like a, imagine a towel rack, but a really nice one.
Starting point is 00:21:57 And they're hanging like three off. and I was like, oh, that's how to do it. So then I made it like a tie. And the next thing you know, I was extra sophisticated. Yeah. Slaying. Yeah, it's tough. Everybody thought I was local.
Starting point is 00:22:11 One woman stopped me and said, hey, can you give me, can you tell me what that is over there? Okay, she stopped both of us. No, nope. She said, can you tell me. This podcast is riddled. She said, can you tell me what that is over there, sir? And I said, hmm, oh, ha, ha, ha. I said, no, we're not from here.
Starting point is 00:22:27 Yeah, we're like, we have no idea. You know, there's a debate amongst us. And the debate is, if we're somewhere in English isn't their native language, but they speak English and it's in an accent, I like to speak my English back to them in their accent. We meet in the middle. I don't know French. I know a little bit. Not enough to actually talk. I tried to use it once and they got laughed at me. So if they're like, hello, my show, would you like to be taking us to your room? I would go, yes, would you please take me to the room. Because I feel like they know. it in that accent, so I'm talking back to them in that accent. You do not like it when I do that. No. That is me thinking of them. I'm meeting them halfway.
Starting point is 00:23:12 I don't think they receive it that way. What are you talking about? A lot of people think I live wherever we go. No one has ever thought that. Not true. If we're in Germany and they're like, we do like a broadwaters, sir, and I'm like, oh, I would like a broadwheres and put some mustard on it, please.
Starting point is 00:23:27 I speak in the accent that they know their English in, and I feel like that is me putting in the effort. It's not. In Austria, they thought I was local for sure. Okay. People come up to me and ask for directions all the time. No, they don't. Or I'll walk up and I know like three words.
Starting point is 00:23:49 I'm like, good and talk. And I'll do the accent with like the nose and stuff. And they'll think that I'm German and start talking full German. They have to go like, whoa, whoa, whoa, buddy. Whoa. No, because when you're walking around saying, Guten talk. You're not even doing it right.
Starting point is 00:24:05 Well, because I had a little hiccup in my place. Goodntag. You're not German like I am. Go ahead. Guten tag. That's how you were doing it. It's so forced and so intentional. It would be like someone from another country coming over to our country.
Starting point is 00:24:20 And when you're just casually walking down the sideway, then being like, hello. Hello. I would like that. No. I would. I'd be like, hello. Good talk. No.
Starting point is 00:24:34 I think they like. it in other countries when I use their accent with my English because I think it's a hybrid. And aren't we just a big melting pot anyway? No, I actually think that that's kind of offensive now for people to say things are melting pots. I don't. Because it means you don't have, I have heard. I enjoy a good melting pot.
Starting point is 00:24:53 I've heard the argument that. You ever been to one of those places? Saying America is a melting pot. I'm cutting up. No, no, no. You never. The America is a melting pot is kind of taking away the individuality of each culture. You ever had fondue?
Starting point is 00:25:05 Yeah, I don't really much like it. Man, I used to love it. There are two things I used to love that I'm pretty embarrassed about that I love now. I used to love fondue and phone parties. What's a phone party? What's a phone party. Oh, foam. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:25:22 I said phone. No. Foam party. I mean, I've seen them in movies. At Joe's Big Bamboo, they used to have phone parties, and they'd fill the whole dance floor like five feet of foam and everybody would just get it in a dance. That's disgusting. So it's fondue. Yeah, fondue's not good.
Starting point is 00:25:36 Yeah. And I hate when you go to... But I like the chocolate fondue. Like chocolate fondue, and you have all the stuff on the side, you take the stick and you put it in there. That's what I'm talking about. That's just kind of a dip. Like, if I had a fondue into a phone party, ultimate night at age 23.
Starting point is 00:25:48 I hate when you go to a Mexican restaurant, you think you're getting queso and you're getting cheese fondue. Yeah, so there's a difference in actual Mexican... Actually, I don't think any actual authentic Mexican restaurants have any sort of so. Like when I lived in California I'm getting my Mexican lifeline on
Starting point is 00:26:11 Just to see if he answers, yeah When I lived in California, they don't do case of there. There was one place that was started by Here he is, I got him. Hey, can you talk for a minute? Yeah, what's up? Hold on. Let me step out there. Okay, I think he said it sounds basketball games.
Starting point is 00:26:25 Well, then why are we calling him? I don't know. Hey. Let him enjoy. No, it's just practice. Hey, can you, let me know when you can talk. Okay. All right, what's up? Uh, Caitlin and I are.
Starting point is 00:26:37 All right. Say hi to Caitlin. Hey, Caitlin. Hey, Eddie. Okay, we're doing a podcast. We need our, so what's Mexican cheese? Gessel. Okay, but like, what's the version that we don't like? What do you mean?
Starting point is 00:26:53 Because one kind is not like for chips. One kind is like cheese. Eddie, he's talking about queso fondito. Casso fundido? That does not, that's not a thing. No, no, no, no, no, no. I mean, Casso fundido, that's a thing, but that's just melted cheese. Right.
Starting point is 00:27:07 Yeah, and then there's like what they call. called cheese dip. Yes. I like that. That's orange. That's what they call it like here in Nashville. They call it cheese dip. But that's, it's, it's, it's, it's like, it's like melted cheese, but it's more watered
Starting point is 00:27:19 down so you can dip a chip in it. But what's the kind that I don't like that when they're like, okay, you know, this is not like queso. It's just going to be cheese. It's just going to be all stringy. It's like string cheese. Oh, interesting. Casso Fundido.
Starting point is 00:27:32 That's not, what you say, Caitlin? It's not string cheese, but it's stringy like. So fundido, like the fondude cheese. Yeah, bones, she's right. You're talking about queso fundido. Thank you, Eddie. That's the one where you, like, grab it, and it's like a hot pizza. Yeah, I don't like that.
Starting point is 00:27:49 I don't either. Why not? That's so good. What's more traditional? That one. That's what I thought. That's why I don't like it. But do they have that in Mexico, Eddie?
Starting point is 00:27:57 She wants to know if they have that in Mexico. Yes. Really? See, when I lived in. And they mix stuff in it. They put, like, chorizo in it or, like, onions and peppers. I'll pass. All kinds of things.
Starting point is 00:28:09 It's so good. I'll pass. Okay. Well, we're just lifelining our Mexican friend. Thank you. No problem. That's all, buddy. Bye-bye.
Starting point is 00:28:17 All right. There is. Yeah, I don't really like queso fondido, but I really like queso. Yeah, me too. I can't really eat it anymore. Actually, like the white queso better than the other kind, like orange kind. Both are good. Yeah, both are good.
Starting point is 00:28:33 But I'm just saying I prefer one. I can't eat dairy, though. True. I know you're watching your phone because we ordered food. Is it here? No, not at all. Okay, I have a lot of stories to tell. And when you're not here, they're easier to tell.
Starting point is 00:28:47 Because I don't say that that's a lie. They don't get challenged. I have mentioned many times that I can't eat dairy and it sucks. But I can tell you this, I'm not in the bathroom near as long. That's very true. Yeah, you are not in the bathroom near as long or as often. Like it was, but I would go in and it mostly be like, an exploratory mission
Starting point is 00:29:08 where I could go in for an hour and a half and well we found nothing it'd be like drilling for oil like well we went and dug in we found no oil yeah it would ruin a lot of trips vacations holidays whatever because obviously when you're on a vacation or it's a holiday like there are a lot of rich foods
Starting point is 00:29:25 around or you're just partaking in food that you might not eat on a weekly basis and you would eat these things and I would know they're bad for you but I dairy but no we didn't know dairy was the bad. I've said that for so long. I said try cutting out dairy. But try cutting out dairy is one thing and knowing for sure that it's dairy is another. Well, how could I know for sure? I can't run tests on you other than like, process of elimination because our doctor told you to stop,
Starting point is 00:29:52 to try it. Got it. And after he told you to stop trying it. Because he's a doctor. He's a doctor. He listened and he stopped. But I had told you that prior. I've told you a lot of stuff, but you haven't listened to it. Or like, I remember one time your stomach was hurt. So, here we go. So badly. And we were at a Mexican restaurant. And like that night after, I mean, I think while we were at the restaurant, you had to go to the bathroom, which isn't abnormal. In the restaurant.
Starting point is 00:30:18 Is this with our friends? Who? Go ahead. No, wait. Now I'm, no. No, no. Keep telling your story. Where were we?
Starting point is 00:30:28 We're with my family. Got it. Mexican restaurant. What town? I think we were in Fayetteville. Okay. And we were at that one. restaurant that we eat at sometimes.
Starting point is 00:30:39 Oh yeah. The Mexican one? I can't remember the name of it. Not me either. Okay. And you got like some sort of chili, like spicy, chili, cheesy, cheesy pork. Order to the house. No.
Starting point is 00:30:53 Yeah. No, I'm talking about a different. There have been many times. But I'm talking about the time we were at the restaurant. It was like some spicy, chili, cheesy enchilada pork thing. I look good. You disappeared to the bathroom and my dad is just like, first of all, so kind. Like he was an impact.
Starting point is 00:31:14 He held my hand when it's on the toilet. No, he worries about everybody. But he was like, why would you order that if you have stomach issues like that? That would cause anyone to have some gastrointestinal struggles. But for you to order that, it was crazy. I was serious, though, about trying to find what was wrong because I did a colonoscopy. I did endoscopy. You weren't that serious.
Starting point is 00:31:36 I did all the medical things. I did blood test. Yeah, I think in the back of my mind or the front of my mind, I don't know, I think that you wanted it to be maybe something a little more obscure or like something I don't like. Something where you didn't have to cut anything out because you really didn't. I love cheese. You didn't want to do process of elimination and you do love cheese. You would get, you would tell me at times if I were going to make tacos or something Mexican for dinner.
Starting point is 00:32:04 and we didn't have cheese, you were like, well, I'm not eating it then. If we don't have cheese. Because it doesn't make sense to have a taco with no cheese. Eddie would make freaking fajitas. There would be no cheese. I'm like, I'm not eating this. There's no cheese. He's like, this is Mexican.
Starting point is 00:32:17 We don't put cheese on fajitas. Well, I'm not Mexican. But now I'm... Oh, pretty ironic. Oh, my God. It sucks and I eat cheese. But I, it has helped me, I would say 83%. It has changed 83%.
Starting point is 00:32:29 Yeah. It's been a really good change. It's hard. Yeah, I know. because I would be drinking smoothies, and I'd be like, my stomach hurt. And you'd be like, well, what's in it? I would just like strawberries, bananas,
Starting point is 00:32:40 protein, what kind of protein? I don't know, way protein? Well, don't you know way has, is dairy? No. Oh. Yeah, there are a lot of things that I guess you didn't know we're dairy. That we're now learning. I hate it.
Starting point is 00:32:55 Yeah, it sucks. I do feel bad for you about that because I also love dairy, but I'm not really, I don't have any dairy much anymore either because we don't keep it in the house. I drink milk. You drink malk? It sucks. Do you know what it's taken?
Starting point is 00:33:10 It's taken the joy of drinking the milk after the cereal because I love cereal. It's one of my favorite foods and I would love to eat cereal and then have the milk afterward. Yeah, I've never done that. One of my treats. I don't even do that now because it's not even that. It's malk. M. A-L-K.
Starting point is 00:33:25 So stupid. We were in Paris and I did have to go to the bathroom really bad. Really, but number one. Yeah, you had to pee. And the thing about Paris, one, very clean, even though it is a massive city, millions of people. People walk in the streets, one, they're dressed up, which is pretty. They just look nice. Positively bizarre that almost everybody walking the streets looks like they put some time in before they walk the streets.
Starting point is 00:33:56 Yeah, I just think that their closets are so different than us. Like they much where a lot of our closets, a good portion of our wardrobe is a a fleaure. I don't think that's the case there. Cut off shirts. Yeah. I love a cutoff shirt. I know.
Starting point is 00:34:15 It's my favorite. It's my staple. I'm wearing one right now as a matter of fact. No, I think that was made a tink top. With no sleeves. I should just say that. I love sleeveless shirts. I don't even have like big, I'm not even trying to like show off my big arms because I don't
Starting point is 00:34:27 have big arms. I just like the comfortability of it. And the ability at any time if I need to get into a. fist fight with French authorities. I'm ready to go. Your birthday's coming up. I'm just going to get you a bunch of sleeves. To put on the shirts? Yeah. And put Velcro. We were walking and I had to pee and you can't just go into a place and use their bathroom.
Starting point is 00:34:47 Well, that's the case like in a lot of, yeah. That's the case here as well. Yeah, you can't just go in to be like, I'd like to go to the bathroom. Nope. Yeah, a lot of stores only have bathrooms for employees. Yes. And so I had to go real bad. It's one of those times where sometimes when you get sick, you just appreciate the times when you weren't sick.
Starting point is 00:35:08 And you regret not appreciating it when you weren't sick. Because like I feel so bad. I remember back in the good old days when I didn't feel this bad, I just wish back in the good old days I would have just taken a minute. I'd have been like, I love not feeling sick. I had to pee so bad. I was appreciating the times I didn't have to pee. Yeah, I feel that.
Starting point is 00:35:25 And so we're looking for anywhere. I'm starting to think I got to pee on a tree in the middle of Paris. And if those French authorities are still looking for me, which they might have been, because there's a little malady with them, they deserved it, then I might be going to jail. Yeah, you had an attitude. I could tell something shifted in you. I'd be so bad, I was going to go on my pants. And so we type into the map, is your idea?
Starting point is 00:35:45 You're like, why don't we just type bathroom into the map? Somebody that foods here that's at the gate. Do you want to let them in? You let them in? Yes. And then I'll finish up. We'll do two stories and I'll finish up. Are they in?
Starting point is 00:36:03 All good. Yep. So, Utah bathroom. Yep. That's Occam's Razor. Familiar with it? What? Occam's Razor?
Starting point is 00:36:14 We've talked about this, yeah. You are familiar with it? Yeah, we've talked about it. Care to share? No, because I can't remember, but I feel like it's going to be boring, so can we skip it? No. I know we've talked about it. Occam's Razor is the principle that suggests
Starting point is 00:36:31 the simplest explanation is the best. Right. And for you it was, why don't we just type in bathroom? The simplest. And it said, bathroom, 15 feet. And we're like, what? And in Paris, in the streets, they have these little, they look like alien spacecraft.
Starting point is 00:36:51 Yeah, little pods. That don't look like bathrooms. And you walk up to it and you push a button if it's blue. And it goes, the door opens. No, you don't even push. button. Do you wave your hand? Good point. You don't touch it. You don't touch anything in the bathroom. Great point. And it opens, and there's a toilet. And then, so we got there and some guy walked
Starting point is 00:37:12 in, so it was red. And I didn't even know there was a urinal on the other side until you said there's a urinal. And I'm just waiting, waiting, waiting, waiting. And you said, hey, you can go over to that urinal. And I'm like, oh, cool. So the guy walks out. The whole wall is water. And it's just, it's a wall. And it just washes the whole thing and washes the ground. So there's water around. it. It looks like it could be pee. It's not. It's all water from it.
Starting point is 00:37:33 Yeah, it's all clean. And so, and then the other one, because I'm in the urinal, like, this is the cleanest, most public bathroom ever. The other one had an actual commode. Yes, it did. On that side, it did. On the side that was the urinal, it was like half outside. Like I could see your feet.
Starting point is 00:37:48 I have a picture of my feet. I could see your feet and I could see the top of the waterfall wall, which was kind of nice. It felt like there was, you know, some airflow. Yeah, I have that photo. I almost put it in my little collage. It looks like the water looks like pee. Oh, I didn't care about it. Me, for me peeing?
Starting point is 00:38:04 I don't care about that. It looks like the water can be pee, but it's not the water is from the waterfall. Yeah. And then the other side, after you leave the bathroom, the door shuts. It cleans itself. Water blue again, put your hand up swimming. It opens. Public bathrooms that clean themselves.
Starting point is 00:38:23 Yeah, you know what else is crazy? You know what happened here? Everybody, like, homes people, almost be be whacking off in that thing all the time. Okay. They would, or pooping on the door. Or drunk people. that we run it in a minute well one thing that was crazy about the bathrooms in europe
Starting point is 00:38:37 was that a lot of like flushing the toilet and pretty much everywhere like a public restroom airport whatever you waved your hand over a sensor it's so nice because I always flush a toilet with my foot like with my shoe if I'm in a public restroom if I'm here at the house I flush it with my my foot, my bare foot or my sock or whatever. Because I just don't...
Starting point is 00:39:05 But this is our... We're the only person touching it. Yeah, but you... You ain't clean. Like a lot of times. You do it at our own house? Why don't you do it at our own house? We just talked about your bathroom escapades.
Starting point is 00:39:16 But I don't have them anymore. I'm off. Yeah, but that's... That could be thick on the walls. So I just do my foot. But I appreciated the wave over the sensor. We should incorporate that in America. Even especially in like the plane bathrooms.
Starting point is 00:39:31 I hate going in there. But of course, if it's an overnight flight, you can't. Why do you hate going in there? Avoid it. They're just so dirty. Yeah. And I hate to have to press the button to flush the toilet. And in the airplane bathroom, you could wave your hand and it would flush for you.
Starting point is 00:39:44 Did you notice that? In the airplane bathroom on British Airways? Yeah, that's all we flew. Yeah. But yes, you didn't have to touch it. No, you just waved your hand. But on the American, we have to use your tongue. Right.
Starting point is 00:39:56 It's so freaking gross. Totally. So I was amazed, impressed by the. public bathrooms. Amazed. Just the cleanliness in general, though, they have another standard. Yes, I agree. And the fact that everybody gets dressed there.
Starting point is 00:40:08 I only have, like... I'm good. I don't care. I'm not even that hungry. Yeah. Okay. The Bobbycast, we'll be right back. A win is a win.
Starting point is 00:40:18 A win is a win. I don't care what you're saying. Yep, that's me. Cliver Taylor the fourth. Starting point is 00:41:55 I wish that I hadn't resisted for so long the need to change. We have to be willing to live with a kind of uncertainty that none of us likes. What Cougler did that I think was so unique. He's the writer-director. Who do you think he is?
Starting point is 00:42:34 I don't know. You meet the president? You think Canada has a president? You think China has a president? The law crusade. God, I love that thing. I use it all the time. I wrap it in a blanket and sing to it at night.
Starting point is 00:42:52 It's like the old Polish saying, not my monkeys, not my circus. Yep. It's a good one. I like that saying. It is an actual Polish saying. Yeah. It is an actual poem.
Starting point is 00:43:00 Better version of Play Stupid Games, win stupid prizes. Yes. Which, by the way, wasn't Taylor Swift who said that for the first time. I actually, I thought it was.
Starting point is 00:43:08 I got that wrong. Listen to the Nick, Dick, and Paul show on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. This is the Bobbycast. We got jumped in line
Starting point is 00:43:28 by Camilla Cabo. Oh, yeah. And so we're at a store in Paris, we're just waiting in the line. Mm-hmm. All the stores are pretty thin. Like there's not a lot of room in them. There's multi-levels, but you really don't go.
Starting point is 00:43:46 They're not expansive. Yeah, that's a good word. Do you want to say what sort it was? Does it matter? Yeah, mu-m-m-m-m-you. Okay, so my-you-m-m-I-U. I would have called it me-mi-mi-you, but I know it's mu-mu-mu. And we're there, we're waiting because there's like seven workers,
Starting point is 00:44:04 and each worker has to be with somebody the whole time. And there's like seven people in there shopping. And we're standing there. It's cold, and they let us at least stand inside their building. And you go, do not turn around. Do not stare. Camilla Cabello's right behind us online. Yep.
Starting point is 00:44:20 And now I immediately turn around and stare, and I'm like, huh, there she is. And you said, I said, don't stare. And I said, they didn't know I stare. And you can tell. I played it cool. And it was her and her boyfriend who apparently is a billionaire. Is that true?
Starting point is 00:44:31 I didn't know that until after we saw her and I saw a story pop up online about Camilla. Camilla Cabo. and her billionaire boyfriend. I need to look up, see what he is. He's the heir to some fortune. Oh, he really is?
Starting point is 00:44:46 Yeah. Camilla. Now I can't say it. Camilla Cabo boyfriend. Boom. Yeah, I saw them. They were at the... They were at the Chanel show.
Starting point is 00:44:59 Camilla Cabo coeses up to a rumor new billionaire air boyfriend Henry Jr. In St. Bartz. I need no more about this guy. She's 27. They were spotted. Did anybody ever spot them with us or like in Paris?
Starting point is 00:45:15 With us. Were we spotted with them? Well, she had, I was just saying she had been spotted in Paris. The fashion show. The week before the Chanel fashion show. It was Paris Fashion Week the week before we went. His family is worth $1.7 billion of 2019. Yeah, I don't know.
Starting point is 00:45:32 But they were there and they had a guy with them. It wasn't a bodyguard because he was small. No, I think he was probably a stylist because I know. noticed that she was asking him a lot of questions and kind of taking direction from him on what she should buy and, and he was very fashionable and cool. So I'm assuming he was a stylist. Yeah, no bodyguard. He was half the size of her boyfriend. Oh, yeah. And jumped right in front of us in line. Well, that's... We're going to be honest? I'm not trying to go for a salacious headline. I'm not, you think this salacious? We got jumped in line by Camilla Cabo and her
Starting point is 00:46:06 billionaire boyfriend, no doubt about it. So what happened was we were next to the up we were standing inside. Camilla Cabello, her boyfriend and their friend were all outside the door. The man opening the door, open the door to tell them, hey, it's going to be a minute. No one's available right now. Wait in line, essentially. Behind us, already in line. Behind us. And she was fine with it. Like I heard her say, okay, like whatever. And then about 15 seconds later, her boyfriend, who I don't know if he's French, but he was speaking French, spoke French to. Probably just spoke in an accent, English accent, the sound of French, like I like to do. not. No, he was speaking French
Starting point is 00:46:41 and he asked the, or I don't know what he said. He said it in French. He said I'm guessing. Yeah, guess, guess. No, I don't know what he said. No, just guess. Pure speculation. I think he said, this is Camilla Cabo. She's a pop star and these are two slubs ahead of us. Let us jump in line.
Starting point is 00:46:58 That's what I heard in my head. Originally, I did think that. But then after I found out who he was, he might have just been saying his own name. But well, but I don't think that they really care in Paris, the mecca of fashion and celebrity. Like, I don't think. Then why'd they jump us? Maybe because he's like, hey, I'm a billionaire. Okay. Then we got
Starting point is 00:47:20 jumped by a billionaire and Camara Likabayao. But what happened? So then the guy was like, okay, whatever. And then he let them in. And then he immediately let us in follow. Because he knew he had done wrong. Yeah. He was like, I can't let these two poor people like stand here. You and I are like freezing in our scarves. I'm wearing mine ill-fitting. Your looks perfect. You're Edgrell and Poe. I'm like, quote the Raven, Nevermore. Yes. And so they let us in. Honestly, appreciated it. I think she got us in a little earlier than we were going to. So. I yeared way too kind because we for sure got jumped and that's showbiz, baby. I get it. They're famous? I get it. There's a lot of times. They're famous. We're not. No, there's a lot of times where we get privilege and other people don't. When?
Starting point is 00:48:00 Whenever, like, if there's no table at a restaurant or something. This has never happened. And people, no, I'm. I'm, okay. You're just trying to be nice, but that's never, no, no, no. It's never happened where we show up and then they're like, oh, wait, we do have a table and we cut people in line. Never, ever, ever has that happened and we wouldn't do that. But what has happened is there are no reservations online and maybe someone calls and says
Starting point is 00:48:27 that if we're like in town for something and one of your managers calls and says, hey, is there any way you can make room and then make room for us? I don't think you understand what they say. Every time I call, they go, Camila Cabo is coming and then we show up. Right. So true. And I'm the billionaire boyfriend. They think you're the billionaire boyfriend.
Starting point is 00:48:41 Yes. I love that for me. We saw Farrell. We saw Farrell at our hotel. Would you like to tell that story? There's only really one good story. We saw Farrell at our hotel. No, no.
Starting point is 00:48:51 There's a good story. Oh, we were sitting having lunch. We actually thought we were going to have tea. Like, we wanted to have our hotel. No, we thought it was a tea room. Our hotel had this really cool, like, little tea time. Yeah. Similar to, like, English tea time.
Starting point is 00:49:09 except for at the French tea time, that's only sweets and tea. So no, like sandwiches or anything like that. And we thought that would be fun. So we thought that's what we were going to. And I went to the restroom and Bobby orchestrated the whole thing. And so, excuse me. And when I get back,
Starting point is 00:49:24 we're like going into this restaurant that we had had dinner in the night before, which was definitely not the tea room. So your French accent and English words didn't translate perfectly because we ended up not in the tea room just eating lunch and this other restaurant. restaurant. So we're sitting there. I did order a tea and you ordered something, water. Probably water and a diet cracker. Yep. And then Farrell walked behind us. I didn't notice them. You did? Well, because he was behind you. But I wouldn't have noticed them anyway. You noticed things. I don't.
Starting point is 00:49:55 You notice things. You noticed some people. I didn't notice Farrell and you're like, that's Farrell. And I was like, holy crap. And then. Oh, I forgot about this. Okay. And then, so we were sitting at a table. The table next to us was empty and the table beyond. that had two people in from, I think, Japan. And they, the girl was pretending to take photos of her boyfriend or husband. And really, I think she was videoing Farrell. And so Farrell's bodyguard came up and sat in between us and that other couple and talked to her and said, I'm assuming, like, no photos or videos. And then he sat there for the whole time. And you were, rightfully so, a little irritated at Farrell's bodyguard. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:50:39 I mean, I understand, but like, it's legal for her to take photos and videos of Farrell. And Farrell was sitting right in the main part of the restaurant slash tea room. Like, he wasn't, if he wanted to not be public, he could have asked for a more private spot. I felt like, and I didn't think much about it until you were like, it's not illegal that she was taking a picture. I was like, you're right. Like, who gives a crap? Well, I felt like he was kind of embarrassing her, too, and I didn't like that. But I don't think that was a reflection of Farrell.
Starting point is 00:51:07 I don't think Farrell cared. I don't think Farrell. even knew. I don't think he knew. And I don't, and a lot of times where this happens, they don't know, but the bodyguard or the manager, whomever will jump in. Yes. But I do, I agreed with you. There was nothing illegal happening. It wasn't like it was grossly inappropriate where they were just, it was like a couple pictures. Obviously they were taking a picture for real. But who cares? And he's kind of far away from them. And he's and he looks great and he's in this cool puppy jacket. So cool. And he's in a public place. He was in a public place. He was having a meeting. He came
Starting point is 00:51:39 in with several people. Yeah. It was kind of annoying to me that they put her on blast. A couple other things. So we're in France. Which, by the way, Farrell is the creative director of Louis Vuitton.
Starting point is 00:51:55 In like name only? Like, Farrell's our creative director. I assume he's pretty collaborative with it. Meaning does he have actual responsibilities? I'm sure, yeah. I'm sure. But is he like the creative director? I believe so.
Starting point is 00:52:11 Like he's the head of Louis Vuitt. I'm sure he's the head designer, Louis Vuitton. What's the difference in head creative director and head designer? Well, he's not designing the pieces. That's what I'm saying. I'm sure he's overseeing. I'm sure he's sent options of campaigns. I don't, like doing a lot of, I don't know.
Starting point is 00:52:34 I just feel like he does a little bit that they just like to have Pharrell. I don't think so. I think he probably has a lot of input as far as like the fashion show as far as their like visuals for their campaigns and what do I know he's really cool I've met him he's really nice I hate it's so cool I hated this bodyguard did that to that woman because I was embarrassing I felt embarrassed for them and they didn't deserve that they didn't deserve that okay so we leave Paris and I have these romantic dreams of us to take into train across the country yeah it wasn't it wasn't really what I thought it was going to be I
Starting point is 00:53:10 think the train system is freaking amazing. No, and the train was great. The train was efficient. Yes. That's what I'll say. Yeah, but I thought we were first class. We were first class and it was like, it was like, it was terrible. Well, I thought you thought it was going to be like Polar Express. Yeah. I thought I thought. I wanted like carts come through with cakes and stuff. Yeah. And like it's super fancy. And it looks inside of the wrist. I want, I want the, the, whatever the guy wears the hand. Conductor. Yes, to come up and be like, greetings. Thanks for coming on my train. Yeah, that's not what it is. No.
Starting point is 00:53:42 That one in particular. There are some like that. Like we looked up some. Yeah, we weren't on any of that. That system, the public transit, is amazing because you can go one city to the next in an hour, hour and a half. It's awesome. The fact that we don't have it here, it's injustice, I say. Northeast has it.
Starting point is 00:53:59 And it was really cool because we went to New Hampshire, went up to Maine and back. It was pretty cool. When I lived in Houston, there was all this talk about how we were going to get a train that went from Houston, Dallas, Houston, and Austin. and I don't know if that ever happened. I don't either because in Austin, I was in Austin at the same time and they were like, we're a train that goes to Houston, Dallas.
Starting point is 00:54:15 You weren't in Austin when I lived in Houston. But when I was there, they were saying the same thing. Yeah, so a load of crap. A load of crap. So we go to Germany and we had to stay over in a town called Bodden Bodden,
Starting point is 00:54:27 or as I called it, Bodden, Bodden, Bodden, and it was literally just us staying in our hotel room that night. The problem was. We were there two nights. Well, not Bonin, Bodden. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:54:39 where I'm thinking of, I'm thinking of Salsberg. Oh, yeah, Bobbond was great. Yeah, no, I like Bon Biden. Bon Bonn. It was good. Our hotel room was good. Yeah, yeah, the restaurant was good. The restaurant was good.
Starting point is 00:54:49 I tar-tard my brains out. You tar-tard your brains out. It's like when people do wine, they like taste the wine. How does this taste? And they give it a little taste. And I never had wine. So I don't know. Maybe good.
Starting point is 00:54:58 But they would do that with my beef tartar. And I don't know that I would have bet I knew what tartar was until I ordered it. I'd probably guessed it. You know what it. I know. I think I'd have guessed it. but I wouldn't have been for sure for her, but they bring you this,
Starting point is 00:55:09 and it sounds disgusting, but it's raw, right? Yeah, it's raw. It can't be totally raw. Because I can't get beef that's in here and make tartar out of it. No, I'm sure it's like, I don't know, cured in some ways.
Starting point is 00:55:20 Whatever it is, it's, we'll just say it's raw beef, but then they have all the stuff and you tell, they put eggs in it, they put a little chive in it. Mastard mayonnaise. Whatever you want,
Starting point is 00:55:31 they mix it up, and they go, here, take it a little taste sir. It's like, when they do it the wine, I never get to do. And I'm like this, I think that'll do.
Starting point is 00:55:37 And then they do it. I had tar tar like five times. Yeah, you had a lot of tartar on this trip. Be it beef, tuna. Like you were, you were, you were. Tar and like crazy. Tarn, Taryn.
Starting point is 00:55:47 They were calling me Bobby Bobby Tartar. I'd leave out and they'd be like, later, Tart. Another thing that was great at that restaurant was the apple pancake. That was stupid. What? I was tricked.
Starting point is 00:56:02 Well, you couldn't have been tricked because I had it the first. night and I liked it so much and you kept you tried it and wanted other bites so you liked it oh bobby tartar didn't love the pancake i liked it the first night because i thought it was a literal pancake and you only gave me one bite i always dreamed to marry somebody that would give me the last bite honestly they would be so selfless that they would go you want the last bite i ain't your girl i love you so much why don't you have the last bite i that i dreamed of that i don't have that no i will share anything with you but food. I hate sharing food. I have to fight to get anything and you get,
Starting point is 00:56:38 and you're like, fine, you have a little piece of this thing. And I thought it was a banana, or excuse me, an apple pancake. And it wasn't. It was just sliced apples in the shape of a pancake. No, there was a thin layer of pancake on the bottom and they'd cooked out on top. I got it was not good. I enjoyed my tartar. We don't like apples. So I don't know why you wanted it in the first place. I was led to believe the night before that it was of pancakes. So on my head, I tasted pancake. So we did bottom, We went and shopped at a, this was the good thing about bought and bought. We found a store that was a vintage designer store.
Starting point is 00:57:11 You love vintage. Doesn't matter what it is. If it's old, you want to go check it out. Just like my husband. Okay. And that, we're done here. I'll see you guys tomorrow. Like all things, vintage baby?
Starting point is 00:57:22 That hurts Bobby Tartar's feelings. I'm sorry. So we go in thinking really, we're just going to walk around and do some steps. Yep. And we found a really elite vintage store, didn't we? Yeah, it was awesome. It was awesome. That's my favorite thing.
Starting point is 00:57:39 It's like digging through items to find a treasure. We found lots of treasures. We bought like five or six things. Yep. There was like one bag that it's hard to get you to spend money at a place because you're like, I don't know. It's too much or I don't know if I even want it. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:57:56 I like to also like, I want to know I'm getting a good deal. So I want to compare. But there's no way to compare. I know. Well, actually, there is like a hack. I'm sure you all know. But my friends and I do this where we'll, if we see anything at a store, we'll take a photo of it. And then we'll go into Google, Google Images, upload the photo and see online anywhere where we could get it cheaper.
Starting point is 00:58:19 Let me guess. You and Caitlin Goperman do that. Yes. Why would you say her name like that? You loved her. Caitlin Gabberman. We love her. Because she is a bad influence sometimes on you.
Starting point is 00:58:30 No, she's not. She's the best influence ever. As a person, she's amazing at times. You know, you two, maybe hate on Ross and I style a little bit. Well, work on it. I'll say it. Maybe hate on Ross and I style just a little bit. But there was a bag and you're like, look this bag.
Starting point is 00:58:51 And then what even a bag for me? And I'll wear a bag. I got made fun of it. I got roasted. If you saw the comments on my Instagram with my bag. I don't read them. My boutega bag. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:58:59 I get too nervous. They were crushing me for a purse. And I'm like, screw you guys. I do not use pockets. Yeah, try being evolved, people. I stand by it. I love it. I even call it a purse.
Starting point is 00:59:08 I do not care. It makes life so much easier. It's very convenient. Yes. Remember when my dad carries one? The two things I use, the people are like, I can't believe you do that
Starting point is 00:59:17 because of convenience. A purse and tampons. Okay. Remember when my dad carried one in Italy? And he was like, this is the greatest thing. It's a greatest thing. Yes. Because you don't have your bulky bill fold or wallet
Starting point is 00:59:28 or whatever you call it. So, yeah. And so I find a bag and I'm like, no, you have to get the bag. Because I also love the bag. You're like, I'm not going to get the bag. and then I went and got the bag. It was like...
Starting point is 00:59:36 Oh, it was a limited edition. It was really cool. Yeah, and I was like, we will take this bag. Yeah, you did. It's awesome. I love it. And it's not for me.
Starting point is 00:59:43 I mean, I would use it for sure. Yeah, you told me you would. So we did that at Bond Bond. And then the next night, we take a train, next day to Salzburg, Austria, because we want to go to Austria, but we just spent one night there.
Starting point is 00:59:52 No, we took a car. Did we? Because we stopped in Munich. That's right. Oh, Munich. I had the best freaking dog. I don't know if it was. I don't know.
Starting point is 01:00:02 It wasn't a hot dog and it wasn't like a sausage. It wasn't a kind of worst. It wasn't a brunt worst. It was some kind of worst. It was so good that I would take a bite and shake my head because I would go, and then I would go, oh my God, I cannot believe this is this good. Yeah, I was grossing me out. No, no.
Starting point is 01:00:19 It was one of the great, it was one of my favorite food items I've ever eaten in my life. Well, I didn't, it was so big and it had mustard on it, which I hate. Yeah, you never had mustard ketchup. But it had sourcrow to it, and I don't really like sourcress. out, but it was awesome. I never had sourcrow, and I don't plan on trying it. But they handed you this massive... It's two feet long. Worst. It's awesome. But no plate. Yeah, that part. In one little miniature, like, cocktail napkin. And so I just, you were eating it in the car. It was one of the best things. And you know what place to lay it down.
Starting point is 01:00:52 She's just holding it the whole time. I didn't need to lay down. I was going, hey, that thing was so good. It was going in a hole. You did eat it all. And I asked you before we got in the car. Are you really going to eat all this? Yeah. Because if you're not thrown away, because I don't know what to smell that on the drive. Top five things I've ever eaten in my life. Wow.
Starting point is 01:01:11 Munich, Germany. And it was just at like a market. What was that thing called? I don't know the German name for it, but I mean, I could read it in a text message, but it was too complicated to say. But it was essentially like a farmer's market. Oh, it's awesome.
Starting point is 01:01:27 And a lot of little food stands, like restaurant, little food stands. It was really good. I got a sandwich. It was good. A plus. And then we went to Austria. Salzberg was stupid.
Starting point is 01:01:39 Not because the town itself was stupid because we were only there for one night. And they were like, welcome to the room. And we go up to the room. And they're like, the air conditioning does not come on. And I'm like, oh, it's broken. They're like, no, it just doesn't come on. Yeah, they don't use. We're like, what?
Starting point is 01:01:53 It was hot. We sweat our balls off. You didn't have balls, but they were sweated off by the end of the night. It was really hot. Miserable. But Salisberg was just a stop on our way to Vienna because the trip to Vienna would have been too long to do them one day. But that night was miserable.
Starting point is 01:02:05 So it was just, I was just thinking of it like, we're camping. Was it hot? It was really hot. Was it miserable? We opened the windows. And so then you would hear honk, honk, weird lights coming in. I wasn't hearing honking. I was.
Starting point is 01:02:19 No. Then we went to Vienna. And it was awesome. Yeah, Vienna was great. Let's take a quick pause for a message from our sponsor. A win is a win. A win. I don't care what you're saying.

Starting point is 01:05:25 on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcast, or wherever you get your podcast. And we're back on the Bobbycast. Vienna, it's for you. I think if we went again, we would do things outside of the immediate circle because the first time you go somewhere, you just do the immediate circle.
Starting point is 01:05:49 Yeah. I think we'd do other stuff. Like the first time we went to Italy, we did the immediate circle, then we've done other stuff. I really love Vienna. Clean, people were nice. The weird thing was the excessive amount of Asian restaurants.
Starting point is 01:06:04 Yeah, I meant to look that up. Like, why? They were everywhere. Such an Asian influence. They were really good, though. We went. Yeah, we went. Yeah. But they were really good.
Starting point is 01:06:12 That was unexpected, but it was nice. I loved that city. Also, the weather was good, so I got to, like, not be. I think part of what made Paris hard for me was I didn't know how to wear a scarf. That was tough for you. And it was so cold where Vienna wasn't that cold. Paris is just like. You love Paris.
Starting point is 01:06:29 I know. You love it. It's my favorite place to be other than our house. It's my favorite place to be. I could be, I've been there in the winter before. spring, summer, like... How many times total have you been? Three.
Starting point is 01:06:44 Two with me and one, you and Farrell, back in the day? One with what? You and Farrell back in the day? Me and Farrell? Yeah. I just love it so much. No, I do too. I do too.
Starting point is 01:06:56 I love it too. And I didn't expect to love it. I would actually like to not love it just to be contrarian to you. And I can feel that from you sometimes, but it's such a great city because it's walkable, one. Yeah, all of it.
Starting point is 01:07:08 There's something for everybody. If you like to shop, you're golden. If you like to eat, you're golden. If you like art, museums, history. Like, there is something. That's awesome. For every person. We didn't do any museums this time.
Starting point is 01:07:22 No. We've done them before. And not all. But I think if we went back again, like you said, I would probably like to go to Versailles. I think you'd like to go to Versailles. I think you'd like to go to Notre Dame. To the Lou Holtz statue. I think that you would like to.
Starting point is 01:07:35 Rudy. No, not Notre Dame. I think that... Touchdown, Jesus. I think you would also like to go maybe back to Louvre. Yeah, I would like to... Yes, we wanted to go see Mona Lisa real quick. Yeah, and there's so much more there that's worth seeing.
Starting point is 01:07:52 But yeah, it's endless there. It's the best. And I think that Nashville, we've been told that Nashville's going to get a direct flight. They don't have any time soon. Okay. I'm just a hater. I'm not a hater because I'm saying, It's not going to happen.
Starting point is 01:08:07 I looked it up and there's no mention of anything. We're going to get one to freaking Iceland before we get one to Paris. We got inside information. I think the announcement came and it was like, you're getting Iceland in Paris and then Iceland. No, no, no. We already got Iceland. I don't know. Or it's on the schedule.
Starting point is 01:08:21 Now they've put Dublin because I guess there's like a large influx of Irish tourists. That come here? That come here. Yeah, maybe for drinking. I've been there. It sucks. I think it might. That's good too.
Starting point is 01:08:36 music maybe. I should say Dublin sucked to go by yourself and when you don't drink. Yeah, I can imagine. It's not high on my list of places to visit. I think I would have enjoyed it though with you because we'd have looked at castles and stuff. I got on one of those tourist busts. That would be cool. Because I was finishing my second book and I went there because it was the closest faraway place and I got on one of those tourist bus and brought on top level and went inside a castle but it wasn't even like this stupid when it was a little one.
Starting point is 01:09:00 I don't even care. I love looking at castles online just for fun. if you ever go and look at castles for sale in Europe, it's crazy. I mean, some of them are the price of a two-bedroom house in Nashville right now. It's nuts. Yeah, I probably got to like refurbish it, huh? Some or... I'd put a moat around it immediately. In that moat, I'd probably put like piranhas.
Starting point is 01:09:27 Stanley? What? No, God, no, you drown. Yeah, some are, you know, they need some work, some TLC, but Some are just pretty far from, if they're very, very cheap in comparison, they're pretty far from major cities, like more rural. So why would you need, you know, the castle there? But it's so cool to look at. The final thing that I will say is, first, I had a great time while doing it.
Starting point is 01:09:57 Once we got back, it was really an amazing time. The trip? Yeah. Yeah. Great time while we were doing it. Yeah. Now that we're done, it was an amazing time. And I think the reason is you're a little tired sometimes because it's a jet lag and you can't catch up.
Starting point is 01:10:15 And so you just don't, at times you don't feel good or on, but you're still like gutting through it to get to the good parts. And some of the parts that aren't even that good while they're happening end up being like the most memorable things and the best stories and, you know, it's a shared experience. Yeah, I was actually thinking about that in regards to. something else. Like everyone says you don't really enjoy things while you're in it, but, and I think that's true and I'm trying to get better at that. But I also think that the reason you do things is like for the memories. I think that's a part of it. I also can say, though, that I did enjoy this while we were in it. Me as well. Which is rare. Yeah. I did enjoy walking around Paris, not day one. I was very tired. Day two, when I had on my cool coat. I like that coat.
Starting point is 01:11:02 Yeah. I like that. I like that. You got a better jacket in Vienna. Oh, yeah. You saw it. You picked it out. Yeah. But yeah. It was really nice.
Starting point is 01:11:13 I liked it too. It was long. It was like a blue p coat. Something about a piquot. It's like a jacket material. It makes me so sexy. Like I'm going to solve a crime or something. Like I'm going to either be a flasher and have nothing on under it or I'm going to solve a crime one of the two.
Starting point is 01:11:29 It's like, here's my penis or here I just solve a crime. Those are the two options. No, can't do both. That's tough. It's a fine line. I did really, really, really enjoyed the trip. I appreciate you talking about it with me. I really struggled on the flight home.
Starting point is 01:11:47 You struggled. I know you didn't sleep, but that doesn't matter. I didn't sleep a wink. I struggled way more than you. Because you didn't have Wi-Fi and you couldn't watch Arkansas? I couldn't. I waited all year. I waited all year for that.
Starting point is 01:12:01 It's the NCAA tournament. And they were supposed to play at six. And then they planned at two. I'd have to miss the whole game. there's no Wi-Fi in an international flight. I don't even care about the Wi-Fi as much. Like, okay, so what? I can't get on and freaking play Candy Crush, big deal.
Starting point is 01:12:13 But the one game, I would have been happy to have our flight delayed four hours and watched it in the airport. Oh, no. I would have been happier for that to happen. No. If we got that vote, I would have voted no. Well, it wouldn't have been a vote because it had been a dictatorship in my world. No, someone came to me and was like, hey, you can have your flight delayed and he gets watched the game or you can get home. I missed a whole game.
Starting point is 01:12:32 Home's wheel, baby. Turn my phone off completely. and came in, put it on YouTube TV because they record every game, watched it from the beginning. I knew early on, I felt early on we won
Starting point is 01:12:46 because you spoiled it a little bit. I did not spoil anything. A little bit, your attitude spoiled it a little bit. How? Not in a bad way. You didn't mean to. No, I didn't.
Starting point is 01:12:56 I didn't spoil it. You came in and you said, I know what your attitude is going to be like after this game already. I said, I already know what mood you're going to be in after this game. And you wouldn't have done that had we lost. Huh?
Starting point is 01:13:07 Yes, I would have. But now the problem is the next time we lose and this happens, you're going to do that just to prove me wrong. No, the problem is, regardless of if y'all won or lost, you would have said that I indicated it with my mood or my sentence or whatever. Possibly could be true. So what did you watch on the plane? The conclave?
Starting point is 01:13:25 Me too. It's pretty good. It's pretty good. I loved it. It's about the poppice and the pope and the pope and pope dies and they got to elect a new pope. And I've seen some movies and documentaries about that and how they do it. I hadn't, so I found it so. I had no idea. I didn't know that they had to get 72 votes. And then every day they don't, it's black smoke and then when finally it's white smoke. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:13:46 It was nuts. And I also, the imagery in that movie was so beautiful. Like every shot was so pretty. I wanted to take it. I actually did. It's silly, but I was taking photos of the screen of the movie. Like. On the airplane? Yeah, because I just thought it was so beautiful. You're lucky if Ferrell's bodyguard didn't come stop you from doing that. No, I liked the color combinations, and I wanted to, like, go back and look at those color combinations for other things in life. Like, I just thought so much of it was so pretty. I loved the movie. Yeah, it was really good. The only reason I watched is because you told me to watch it.
Starting point is 01:14:23 And because you were like, you should watch this. I'm watching it. I think you want to have a book club or something at the end and talk about it. I love a book club. And so I've watched it, and I was like, okay, let me get through this. It's awesome. I did not see being in coming. One of your real talents, and you have many.
Starting point is 01:14:38 Thank you. You can pick some crap out to watch. TV shows and movies. You can pick some stuff out. It's like, you've got like a 97% ratio. Yeah, that goes back to my love of research. Like, I do love to look into things. Find the best option.
Starting point is 01:14:51 You do love to look into things. You do love to, no, you do love to like find out stuff too that people don't want you to know. Yeah. That's awesome about me. Yeah, I stopped. I stopped doing mischievous stuff as I mentioned here. Yeah, why would you have ever started? Ah, sometimes, you know, I'm just a bad boy.
Starting point is 01:15:09 The other thing I watched... The French authorities are after me. What? The other thing I watched on the plane was, ugh, a real pain. Was it good? It was really good. In my opinion, it was good.
Starting point is 01:15:21 With Karen Colkin, right? The guys were talking about it on the show, they said it was good. Oh, really? Mm-hmm. Oh, it was good. I cried a little bit. It was impactful.
Starting point is 01:15:28 It was sweet. I cried on the trip. When? When you didn't have Wi-Fi? No, but that had been a good. good time. I talked about in therapy today. Oh, you did? Mm-hmm. Oh, when you were talking to AI? What? You said the... What? What? What? I don't want to divulge too much. No, it wasn't that. I don't... I do talk to AI. You said when you were having conversation with AI. Oh, I talked to AI all the time. It made you a little
