Starting point is 00:03:11 with Mirren Morris, who has a brand new album out today. It's a big day. Mirren, what is album release day like for a big star? Don't laugh. If I see one, I'll let you know. It's a big day.
Starting point is 00:03:23 Like, what do you do on album release date now? I kind of get to breathe a little bit easier than the last two records. This is album three. I think the first two records, you're just insecure and you're trying to find your rhythm and, you know, your place as an artist in this genre.
Starting point is 00:03:39 And I feel like there's just less pressure on this one. And also, I made it during the pandemic. So there really was no pressure to finish it because there was nothing to tour. And I feel like it allowed me to write and just have more fun with it this time because I was at home. And I was just able to, like, not be so rushed. And so I think the songs kind of reflect that, like, mentality. Do you feel that it's different in, because, in just your career, we've seen it go from downloads to streams as like the dominant way people
Starting point is 00:04:08 are listening, where it would seem you really wanted to monitor downloads, but people aren't really downloading anymore. So it's not like first day you're actually seeing what the consumption is. It's more of a long-term play because of streams. Right. Is the pressure a little less because you don't need to know immediately? I never pay attention to any of that. Like I'll let them tell me the good news, but that's just so out of my condition. control. Like I my job was to make the music and do my best the leading up to its release day, promote it and just make the the best piece of art I could as like a snapshot in time. I have no control over streams or downloads. It's like I did everything I could I could do. So I I know some people that like constantly look at the chart or look at sound scan or whatever they do now. I've sound so old. But I just. It doesn't make me happy to do that. It doesn't make me feel better.
Starting point is 00:05:06 So I just, like, chill and enjoy the fruits of my labor and hope that these songs, like, translate and connect people. But I feel like I've done everything I can do. So that's out of my hands. Well, that's very mature of you because I would hire those bots to stream it up. I would go and, like, where they have those little camps in Africa and everybody sitting on my computer, and that's what I would do. And I would watch and watch the numbers go up,
Starting point is 00:05:30 and then I get called out for it for cheating, and then it would be a whole scandal. but it also raised the numbers. I have it all planned out when I'm big music star. Got it. Yeah, so if you want to steal that, you can. Humble Quest is out today, and also Marin is doing a lot of dates. So how much of the new record will you do out?
Starting point is 00:05:45 And what's the balance there? I mean, I'll probably, the majority of the set list will be new stuff, because it's been two years and no touring, so now we're getting back into it. But, you know, I always throw in the fan favorites and maybe a cover or two, but we're headlining. so it's going to be like a healthy set for sure. Nominated for two Grammys, which is next weekend for Best Country Song
Starting point is 00:06:09 and then Best Country Duo Group performance for chasing after you. Whenever you wear it, because you and Ryan both dress just wonderfully stylish, do people reach out to you and say, please wear my stuff, or do you go, hey, is there any way I could wear that stuff because I'm a big fan?
Starting point is 00:06:25 Both and probably more of the latter. Like I want to wear their things. It is cool sometimes when a design house will reach out and be like, we want to make something custom for this moment, because I know it's a big night for you. But I, like, for instance, the ACM awards, my stylist found this amazing. Like, I can't believe I'm calling it vintage because it was from 2000. So it just makes me feel really old. But it was like this vintage Dior and I wore it on the A.C.m carpet.
Starting point is 00:06:50 And it was just like such an honor to wear something. So like archival and from Dior. But I like doing a little bit of both. I just like trust my gut on whatever feels good to put on. New Zeequal Pure Z's restorative herbal sleep is a melatonin-free sleep aid made with clinically studied plant-based ingredients to help promote better restorative sleep. Sleep this good, feel this good. All right, let's go over, let's reach in, and let's open up the mailbag. You send an email and we read it all the air.
Starting point is 00:07:24 It's something we call Bobby's Mailbag, yeah. Hello, Bobby Bones. I'm turning 40 this summer. And like you, I've never had a sip of alcohol. Hard to believe since I was born in Las Vegas, and I've lived here my entire life. I'd seen alcohol ruin lives around me at a young age, and becoming an alcoholic like my dad always freak me out. But now, I am considering having my first drink ever. I think I'm at the point in life now that I can control it.
Starting point is 00:07:51 I don't want to miss out and having fun with friends and family just because of fear. I still haven't made my decision, but since we have similar backgrounds, do you think you are any closer to having your first drink? If you felt like I did, would you just go ahead and drink? Any insight would be appreciated. Signed Chris. Amy, I'll come to you first on this. Just coming from a different place.
Starting point is 00:08:10 I mean, I don't think, I don't want to look at, like you're missing out on fun with your family and friends. I feel like I am, though. I know, but you shouldn't. Everybody's having a good time except for me. Right. But they're not, but they're not. You can have just as much fun without alcohol. My fear is that even though they think they could handle it, it's just, it's risky if you know the history.
Starting point is 00:08:31 that runs in your family and that makes me nervous. But if you know the history, then you know what could possibly happen and you can keep an eyeball on it a little closer too. Yeah. So I don't think that I'm not doing it anymore because I'm one, I got a streak going. Yeah. I hate to break a streak. I love a good streak.
Starting point is 00:08:50 I love a good streak. I'm also scared that I will love it so much. I want to keep doing it. But I know that if that happened, I could stop at first. Yeah. If I got deep down, there's just so much addictive. But I think, you know, a month in, I'd be like, whoa, this is not going in the direction I needed to go and I could stop. I feel I could because I had that issue with when I had a ton of dental work and they gave me crazy strong pain pills.
Starting point is 00:09:14 And I felt me, oh, they were great. It felt like I was on a rocket ship. It felt like my feet were floating. And I took these pills and I was like, this is what life's about. It was a warm hug. Which is not true, but yeah. Oh, golly. I just never felt something so good.
Starting point is 00:09:30 Yeah. And but after about the third time I took them, I said, whoa, I want them. I want them. When it's not even time to want them and need them. So I flushed them down the toilet. It was very difficult to do. And I was able to separate me from what was happening. So I feel like if I were to try a couple drinks, I could manage it.
Starting point is 00:09:49 And I know you well enough to know that that is likely true and that would be the case. With an emailer, I just feel hesitant like saying, go ahead and have your first drink. you feel like you can do it, just not knowing the whole story and understanding because it's, alcohol can either be, yeah, like this thing that you do casually and it's not a big deal and sure you may have, think you're going to have more fun or whatever, or it can be super dangerous and ruin your life. So. I do understand where he's coming from going, I don't want this thing to be stronger than I am.
Starting point is 00:10:19 I think that all the time. Yeah. Like, why am I? I've done some pretty cool things. And I've come from a place that people like me don't get to do those cool things. So why am I letting this dominate me? Yeah. I understand that feeling.
Starting point is 00:10:31 What I would say as someone who empathizes with you, is proud of you, all the feelings, is if you want to do it, you should do it. But have someone with you that you trust and that you love, one, take care of you. And two, to go, hey, let's make sure you chill out a little bit. Like to be a bit of a governor even on it. And start with something light. Oh, Pina Colada. That would be awesome. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:10:57 Like a little. But I think people. that have a little drink, have a little more fun. I do. And I think you can't have fun without drinking. Yes. But I don't even like to go out to even try to have fun. So I have less fun because I don't even go in an attempt to have fun. You know?
Starting point is 00:11:10 If you just counted the fun in my life versus lunchbox is fun. Yeah. Yeah, you're missing out of fun. I was about to say the older you get, you start to have a different perspective. But I think it's just maybe also maturity in there as well because lunchbox is older and still looks at it kind of the same. It loves it. But I think as you. mature, if you're evolving, you realize that it's, alcohol's not as amazing as we've made it
Starting point is 00:11:35 out to be. Don't let it dominate you in any way. Don't let it take you over if you do. Just be safe. Be safe if you do. But that's on you. Don't do it alone. Like Bobby said, oh, yeah.
Starting point is 00:11:48 I probably would, though, because I wouldn't want to tell anybody. Well, Caitlin, you're married now. So you could have someone with you. You have to tell her. Yeah. You don't have to. I mean, you should. I show up to dinner.
Starting point is 00:11:59 our house drunk. Wait a second. And I've only been in the other room. That's the thing. You don't even have to make it a goal to get drunk. Just like if you can have one drink. Yeah, but dinner would be more fun if you did. If I'm drinking, I'm tying it on.
Starting point is 00:12:11 Okay, see, but that's the mentality we're trying to. And that's exactly why you should stop. But that's my mentality for everything. There's not a single thing in my life that if I'm not going to, if I do it, I'm going to win at it. Okay. So now I'm starting to think you should not have a drink. Are you challenging me?
Starting point is 00:12:28 No. And Amy, don't challenge him. No, but I'm like, okay. I dare I don't care about. I dare I don't care about. I know. Like, I can have one. I've even had a time, like I know I likely won't get addicted because there's a bit of time where I have had more alcohol than I should have to get through certain things.
Starting point is 00:12:47 But I was able to stop. Like, no problem. Like, it didn't affect me. But there's other people that they just can't stop. Like, chemically, their brain makeup, like it's not going to happen. I have a crazily addictive brain to anything. Right. I replace addictions.
Starting point is 00:13:06 And again, I only, luckily I know this because all my family has had it and struggled with it. And I've pretty much all died of it. So I know that from that. But anyway, dude. Good luck. If you're going to hit it. Just have one. Be safe with it.
Starting point is 00:13:22 Be safe with it. You might think it's disgusting. Oh, it has to be. Beer smells like. I mean, except for a pinia glada. Beer smells awful. I would never want it to. It doesn't.
Starting point is 00:13:31 I think you train yourself to like beer. All right, there you go. Thank you for the email. In all seriousness, you got to make that decision for yourself. If you do decide to make sure you have somebody that you trust and that you love to be there, maybe not sitting right beside you, but just to check in with. All right, buddy. All right, thank you.
Starting point is 00:13:49 Close it up. We've got your email and we read it on the air. Now it's about to close Bobby's mail back. HelloFresh offers delicious, easy to prepare recipes and convenient doorstep delivery, plus calorie smart and carb smart options too, to make eating, well, easier than ever. Starting point is 00:14:19 Here we go. Number five. So there have never been more than six living presidents at any point in American history. Now there are six. Can you name them? Yeah, I can. Jimmy Carter is probably the oldest because he's in his 90s. After him was Ronald Reagan, who's not alive. One of, let me see, I think one of the, but George W. Bush is still alive.
Starting point is 00:14:45 That makes two. Bill Clinton makes three. Barack Obama makes four. Donald Trump makes five. Joe Biden, who's currently in office. I wasn't thinking about makes six. And currently alive. Oh, wow.
Starting point is 00:14:57 And alive. Yeah. It's fun. I didn't know that. And good job. Yeah, I think anybody could have got that right though, right? Yeah. With plenty of time.
Starting point is 00:15:05 Yeah. All right. Number four. So the acid in your stomach is strong enough to burn through your skin, but a protective layer of mucus prevents this from happening. If the mucus, for some reason, doesn't do its job. So a body breaks down in all different ways. I wonder if it burns through your skin.
Starting point is 00:15:22 Wow. If all of a sudden you're leaking. Probably. Right? Yeah, I mean, I'm sure a doctor could come. The body's wild, man. The body, if one tiny thing goes wrong, the whole thing's off. It's amazing.
Starting point is 00:15:33 But the fact that for the most part... All these tiny things go right and it's wild. Yeah. And the fact that we heal ourselves for the most, you know, if you cut yourself, it grows back. Like, you can't have an arm grow back. But the fact that if you slice your hand, it just closes right back up. Crazy. We only don't think it's crazy because we've had it our whole life.
Starting point is 00:15:51 That's right. So Leo Fender, the guy who invented Fender Electric Guitars, He can't even actually play the guitar. That's funny. Why did he invent the guitar? I don't know. Did you know that James Naismet, the guy who invented basketball, is the only Kansas coach to have a losing record?
Starting point is 00:16:11 Huh? Wow. The guy who invented basketball had a losing record as a head coach at the University of Kansas. Same kind of way this story. Leo. Yeah, they invented the guitar. I can't play it. That's great.
Starting point is 00:16:22 Naismith invented the game. Couldn't coach it. Have you been enjoying that magic? show still. Winning time. Oh, Magic Johnson. Yeah, we've watched all three episodes. So good.
Starting point is 00:16:34 I'm not caught up yet, but I... I think they need a little more action for non-basketball nerds, for non-sports nerds. I will say, I am a non-basketball person, and I am enjoying it just fine. Okay, good for you then. All right, let's go to the next one. Number two. So when Cristiano Ronaldo was asked to donate his cleats for an auction to help raise money for a 10-month-old boy who had a brain disorder, he decided to just pay for
Starting point is 00:16:57 the surgery instead. $83,000. Oh, good for him. He's like, yeah, I'm not going to donate the cleats, but I'll pay for the surgery. God loves his cleats. That's great. That's great. All right, let's get the last one.
Starting point is 00:17:11 Here we go. Number one. Kind of scared to do this one, quite honestly, but I have tested it out, and it is, in fact, true. Loser.com is now redirecting visitors to Putin's Wikipedia page. Try it. Lozor.com. That's really funny. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:17:28 That's funny. Fun Fat Friday. Bobby Bonsham. The latest from Nashville and Hollywood. Morgan number two's 30 Second Skinny. Brantley Gilbert released a collaboration with Jason Aldeen called Rolex on a redneck. He can put a Rolex on a redneck. Jake Owen dropped a new song called Up There Down Here.
Starting point is 00:18:02 She's a little up there down here. Put the little King James in my John did. Go by my car. Grace to my grid and the rain of my dirt. And we've got new albums out today, Marin Morris' humble quest, Reba McIntyre's My Chains Are Gone, and Riley Green's live album of We Out Here. I'm Morgan number two.
Starting point is 00:18:32 That's your skinning. It's time for the good news. With Amy. Tell me something good. So back in 1930, Merrill Pittman Cooper had to move because of some financial situations with his mother. And that prevented him from ever getting. his high school diploma. Well, now at 101 years old. He's still alive? Yeah. He finally...
Starting point is 00:18:58 I thought it was going to be about his kid. Wow, he's still alive. Good for him. No, he finally got his graduation ceremony and an honorary diploma with his family all around him. So never give up. I mean, the stories he's alive. Yeah. I know that other cool stuff happened to. That is a telling something good. To live to 101 is pretty cool. I told you guys, I think we're probably 20 to 30 years away from them figuring out how to make us live 20 to 30 years longer. Yeah, but I've got to be able-bodied. But I think you'll be able-bodied longer. Okay, that'd be cool.
Starting point is 00:19:30 Yeah. Like where now we start to lose it around 80, you'd probably start to lose it around 100. I think we just missed that cutoff. Dang. It really disappoints me too. I know, we're so close. That's a great story. Might help us out a little bit, though.
Starting point is 00:19:43 Is an honorary degree a degree? Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Did he have to go to school at all for this? No, no, no, no. Okay. That's the question.
Starting point is 00:19:51 If you were to get an honorary doctorate, like Darius Rucker has, from South Carolina. Oh, I don't know. Is that a... In music? But you didn't have to put in the hours and hours upon hours to get the doctorate. Right. You're not a PhD. But then do you can do you say?
Starting point is 00:20:07 But the question is, do you sign your name if you're Darius? Doctor Darius. Absolutely. And you can put it on your resume when you're applying for jobs or whatever. Like, yeah, I got a doctorate. I mean... An honorary doctorate. You don't write honorary doctorate?
Starting point is 00:20:21 If you had an honorary doctorate, would you sign your name, Doctor? Absolutely. You would. I would not. I mean, I'd do it on the airline without being a doctor. Well, good for him. That's a great story. That's what it's all about.
Starting point is 00:20:33 That was Tell Me Something Good. Filing your taxes does not have to be difficult. Start for free at taxact.com, where you can get expert help with no appointment required. Starting point is 00:21:39 Right now, though, Amy has three victories. It's crazy. In season number four. I'm shaking. Eddie has one, lunchboxes, has one. Morgan has zero. All right, round two. Amy, what U.S. state is famous for Hollywood?

By the way, you don't want to miss one, because if you do miss one, you will hear this. You've been boned. And you don't want to be boned this early in the morning. That's why sometimes we answer with a little, we take our time for a second, a caution. Lunchbox, who wrote the famous play Romeo and Juliet?
Starting point is 00:23:47 That's Shakespeare. Correct. Eddie. Come on. Who wrote The Adventures of Tom Sawyer? Mark Twain. Nice job. Thank you. Morgan.
Starting point is 00:24:00 Samuel Clemens was better known by what pin name? Famous writer Samuel Clemens. Samuel Langhorne Clemens was better known by what pin name? Pin name. Am I supposed to know this person? Oh, my Lanta. For sure, you know the person. sure you heard his name. Samuel Clemens
Starting point is 00:24:21 his name. I mean, that's a little harder than you guys is. Yeah. Oh, man. Ernest Hemingway? It's actually... You did her dirty. You're so dirty, because you even said you've heard his name.
Starting point is 00:24:37 She just heard it. I know. It's Mark Twain. I tried to give you a little... Eddie just said it. I mean, come on. Yeah. All these questions are read in order.
Starting point is 00:24:46 No, no. It's so when someone falls out that it obviously changes order, So there is no picking questions. No, no, it was funny how it was just, I thought it was funny. Morgan. Yeah. You've been Bo. Cool, go, cool, cool.
Starting point is 00:24:59 Still no points on the board this season. Yep, okay. You don't have to mention that. Amy. Headwig is the name of Harry Potter's pet. What kind of animal is Headwig? If Morgan would have had this one, you know. She would have gotten it.
Starting point is 00:25:14 Because, like, I, I mean, why don't I pay attention to Harry Potter? Headwig is the name of Harry Potter's pet What kind of animal is headwig? I'm saying that right Morgan, Headwig? A bird Mike? I need you to be more specific
Starting point is 00:25:33 An owl? Correct. I wasn't sure about the owl, so I tried bird. Did you think it was owl and so you just went to hear? Yes. Okay. Mike and Solly are characters in what Pixar movie, Lunchbox? Mike and Soli, but it's not,

Starting point is 00:26:19 Cars. Yeah, Monsters Inc. Cars, Amy? That would have been bad. Wait, well, is it? Monsters Inc. Yeah, I wouldn't have gotten that, obviously. Oh, yeah.
Starting point is 00:26:30 Eddie. All right, come on. If you missed this, Amy wins. Yeah, that's not going to happen. Come on, Amy. That's not going to happen. Dang it. What actor plays Jason Bourne in the Born identity?

Starting point is 00:27:36 Maybe China. You've been more. Yes! Yes! Amy, let's go! Let's go! What was it, China? What an idiot.
Starting point is 00:27:47 I got her dancing. I cannot. Just by the amount of people. I mean, China. What if the whole industry of the country is? Could it be more obvious? Could it be more obvious? I mean, by the way, Amy now has our fourth win.

My five-year-old son woke me up in the middle of the night. Said he had a bad dream about spiders, and it scared him to death.
Starting point is 00:28:59 Couldn't go back to sleep. So I'd go out to my truck, grab a can of off, sprayed him down, told him they wouldn't bother him no more. He went right back to sleep. Y'all have a good day. Spray him with off. Yeah, because he thinks there are no spiders going to get me. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:29:13 Okay. I saw a hilarious one on TikTok where it's probably three, the kid, and he's got a little, a little T-ball set, and he keeps hitting the ball, and the dad doesn't want to go get it anymore. So the guy, dad takes a fishing rod, puts the ball on the line, and the kid, boom, hits it, and he just reels it back in, never leaves his chair. I love that. He puts it back up.

Starting point is 00:30:38 This is good news for you, Bobby. Relationship experts say we should be spooning more. Yeah. Girl spoon guy. Yeah. Bobby likes to be little spoon. Yeah, girl spoon guy. Okay. But here's why. That's a new song we should write. Girl spoon guy. Girl spoon guy.
Starting point is 00:30:54 You should, anytime you need to be spooned by Caitlin, just say, hey, this is going to increase our intimacy. It makes me feel safe and protected. It releases my feel good hormones, supports my immune system. And she falls asleep. I'm going through that. Like, no, wake up. I need to finish telling you why this is. These are all the reasons. It eases pain and anxiety as well. I don't need to say that. What I say is, will you hug me?
Starting point is 00:31:16 And she knows that hug means spoon? Oh, yeah. That easy, huh? It's the greatest. And she thinks, and I agree, I didn't really, I wasn't physically loved as a kid. There was no hugging, touching. It just wasn't.
Starting point is 00:31:33 And so she thinks that that's the infant in me who never got love from a parent wanting to be held. And whatever she thinks, as long as she still hugs me. But she can separate herself from the mother rule. Yeah, she doesn't completely.
Starting point is 00:31:50 Yeah. Yes, very much so. Well, I mean, I'm just saying. First, she burts me before. Oh, gosh. Stop. We do the whole, we play it out. All right.
Starting point is 00:31:58 What else, Amy? So now that warmer weather is approaching in some places, health officials are reminding people that going sockless is bad for you. Because of the sweat I read On average Or the average foot sweats
Starting point is 00:32:14 About half a pint a day You know in slides not as bad You don't wear a solid glass in tennis shoes But in slides there's also There's some air Sandals Yeah so there's a lot Slides more than sandals
Starting point is 00:32:26 But don't they have those little bumps on it Where it separates the foot from the actual shoe I don't know what you're talking about The bumps. You know some slides have like little bumps on there Yeah but that's still the shoe Oh okay Yeah.
Starting point is 00:32:37 Yeah, well, just this point here is there's a lot of moisture and warmth, and it collects over time, and it can cause infections, and there's fungus. So just socks with sandals. Which you would feel it would be the opposite. It's counterintuitive because you would go, why would I want to wear socks and be hotter and trap, but no socks actually or what keep the bacteria if you're growing? But really, socks with tennis shoes, like don't, or like dock shoes,
Starting point is 00:33:02 they said those are the worst. That's the worst. Like a sparries. Yes, the worst. What else? They're even mentioned in the arms. article. So Kelsey Ballerini says that she has become close with Reese Witherspoon. They met years ago at like a White House Christmas tree lighting event. This is the ultimate flex in every way.
Starting point is 00:33:19 Big time. Yeah. She's like, oh, no big deal. I'm super close with her. You're like, oh, wow, that's cool. That's cool. It was at a White House event. Oh, wow. That's cool. We were on Elon Musk's private jet. It's like, wow, that's cool. Well, when she first met her there, she said she went up to Reese and said, you know, people say that I look like you and I'm obsessed with you. So this could have gone either way for Kelsey. Are we sure Reese is her friend, though? Yes. Okay.
Starting point is 00:33:40 It's a one-way relationship. No, she says now, since then, it worked in her favor, and Reese wasn't creeped out or anything. And now she can even call on her if she needs advice or has a question and that she is a true girl's girl. And Reese lives here a lot, too. And I think that helps as well. Yeah. All right. Well, that's good stuff, Amy.
Starting point is 00:34:00 Thanks. I'm Amy. That's my pile. That was Amy's pile of stories. Introducing the first ever Hyundai Ionic 5. This thing has all the tech you would ever want. It's fully electric inside and out. Your journey at its most evolved.
Starting point is 00:34:15 The Hyundai Ionic 5, extremely limited availability. Available in select states only. Contact your Hyundai dealer for availability to tell. It's time for the good news. With lunchbox. Back in 2017, Jason Bedford was in a car crash. Boom! paralyzed. One of his legs doesn't work anymore.
Starting point is 00:34:39 And they said the doctors, get used to being in a wheelchair, my man. That's what's going to be a girl. Yeah, they said at him like that. That's how they said it. My man? Get used to being in a wheelchair. They give him a high five too. That is not good best I manner. They said, get used to being using a wheelchair.
Starting point is 00:34:53 And he's like, man, I'm an active dad. I can't accept that. So he started working, working. Then he starts walking with crutches. Then one day he says, you know what? No more crutches. Lost the crutches. And then he's back now riding horses with his dog.
Starting point is 00:35:06 Wow, that's cool, really. Love that. My man's doing it. My man said, hey, doctor, you want to tell me, my man, I'm going to be paralyzed. That's a good story. Don't worry about it. I'm up. Overcome the odds.
Starting point is 00:35:15 Good for him. Also, good for his daughter. Yeah. Good for other people that are battling this right now, wondering if they even have a shot at it. That's a good inspiration there. That is what it's all about. That was tell me something good. Do you feel like coffee helps you think better?
Starting point is 00:35:32 Yeah. You do? Wakes me up, sharpens me. Yep. Experts say no It does. They wrong. Well, they tested a lot of people
Starting point is 00:35:41 and some of them thought they were drinking coffee and some of them weren't. Oh, wow. So it's placebo effect. I don't care. Right. Well, then it doesn't work. But that's my point.
Starting point is 00:35:49 It does work. The idea maybe works on you. Right. If it's placebo making it happen. No, but that's not the question. That's a whole different element of it. Like if coffee, if someone never has, okay, the answer. Experts say no, regardless of how you feel.
Starting point is 00:36:02 Okay. People feel no more mentally alert. or energized when compared to a test group who abstained completely. I don't agree with that. Me neither. Based on my knowledge, but that is what experts say.
Starting point is 00:36:14 I mean, people believe that coffee is their lifeline. But caffeine, like, bu, bu, pop, pop, but it may not help you think better. It may just give you a little energy. You're right. You're right. It may wake us up and we feel perkier. But that's crazy.
Starting point is 00:36:27 I say people feel no more mentally alert or energized. That's bull crap. Yeah. Now I'm mad. I don't even drink coffee and I'm mad. Let's go over to Amy and get in. Morning Corny. The Morning Corny.
Starting point is 00:36:41 I got into a fight with 1,357 and 9. Okay. The odds were against me. That's very good. That was the Morning Corny. There's something for everyone on Discovery Plus. The streaming home for armchair detectives, nature fans, and anyone who loves 90-day fiancé.

Starting point is 00:37:22 So funny. So funny. So this is the joke Eddie likes to walk around telling. This is from his last special, and then we'll have him on. Here is The Bathroom Joke by Jim Gaffigan. I'm happily married, but I would say once a week I catch my wife give me a look like, I'm going to have to let you go. Because I disappoint her constantly.
Starting point is 00:37:41 I do things that annoy. Like, here's something I do that annoys my wife. I use the bathroom. I know. I should, right? I get in trouble for not telling her I'm going to use the bathroom. You just disappeared.
Starting point is 00:37:58 Where'd you go? I didn't know I needed a hall pass. I also get in trouble for telling her I'm going to use the bathroom. I'm going to use the bathroom. Are you okay? How many times is that today? You're disgusting.
Starting point is 00:38:23 What are you doing there? Mostly get away from you. The Friday morning conversation with Jim Gaffigan. Jim, it is a pleasure to talk to you, my friend. Thank you. Thanks for having me. I was talking with Eddie, who is on the show with me. He's like my best friend, but he was like,
Starting point is 00:38:40 hey, you want to hear the Jim Gaffigan joke, the bathroom joke? And he tells it and it's not that funny, but I've heard you do it, and it's very funny. And so do people ever come up to you and, like, tell you your own jokes back and they completely butcher? It's like, you've just missed the whole thing. It is weird how sometimes contacts are, you know, like they remember it a certain way. But I think we all have, like, loved a sketch to our line from, like, S&L, and then you end up watching it again. And you're like, oh, they didn't even say to that. That's precisely what he did.
Starting point is 00:39:12 He's like, you got to hear this joke. And he told it. I was like, that's not really the joke. But he's been telling a lot of people that joke, and I feel like he's giving you a bad name by telling a joke that's not really yours. I'm going to have to sue him. I agree with that. Well, I'm done.
Starting point is 00:39:24 Jim's coming to town. He's actually, you know, in a lot of the cities, our show is on. But in Nashville on March 30th, Little Rock on March 31st, Kansas City on April 1st, and on and on. Now, when you do a show, these massive shows, do you feel at all like it's harder to connect on an intimate level with an audience when there are so many people? Well, it's shifted dramatically. You would think that would be the case. But the technology, meaning the audio and the video feed,
Starting point is 00:39:58 has advanced so much that, you know, it depends on the venue. So, like, I mean, I've performed at a lot of different places in Nashville. and, you know, I think I wouldn't, you know, I mean, the Ryman is amazing, but I think there's no bad seats at the Bridgestone Arena. And so as long as they can see and hear, that's pretty important. And then there's the communal experience. So if it's a big cavernous place and it's not sold out or it's sold very poorly, then it probably wouldn't be that great.
Starting point is 00:40:43 But if it's a big place and most of the tickets are sold, I think it's a pretty amazing situation. Do you actually, did you remember that, that Bridgetstone and Ryman from your head? Or like when I'm doing like a satellite TV tour, promoting a TV show, I'll have cities and like even what radio station I'm on
Starting point is 00:40:59 and I'll just kind of fit it in, but I'll have it held up behind the screen. Was that what happened there, or you just remember every single venue? I mean, some of it is you do make a point of talking about things, But I would say, I mean, I'm a whore. I'm not going to tell you that I'm not. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Starting point is 00:41:15 But I would say that, I mean, there's not many places more famous than the Riemann. And I think, you know, everyone in Nashville has, well, most people have been to the Bridgestone. And so, you know, the difference between the Bridgestone and some arena that was built in 1960 is a pretty dramatic difference. Is it harder to heckle you if someone were to heckle? in a like an arena. Yeah. I never thought about that, huh? I said, I'd never really thought about that.
Starting point is 00:41:47 I mean, my comedy, I don't really bring out the hecklers. You know what I mean? It's not, I'm not, you know, I don't really pedal in shock, you know, like if there's kind of a victim of my commentary, it's usually myself. So, but yeah, I would say, I guess to answer your question, it probably would. would be weirder in a bigger place, probably less effective. Now, yes, I think you're universally loved. You're a beloved character.
Starting point is 00:42:21 But as an example, I was performing at the opera, the Grand Ole Opry a few nights ago. And when I was there, I was doing some comedy, but I was getting love heckled. There were some people from the state that I'm from. And they kept going, we love you, like in the middle of a joke. And it was driving. And they weren't saying I suck, but they were like, love heckling and do you ever get like love heckled where you're like guys i know you love me but you got to let me do my thing well it's yeah i mean it can be uh there there are disruptive you know
Starting point is 00:42:53 like yeah i mean there's people that yell hot pockets and stuff like that or will yell certain jokes but not that often i would say people that like my comedy it's less of uh you know obviously there's a conversation with the audience but i would say people that come to my shows, it's, you know, it's a different experience. You're coming for the comedy. You're not coming for the interaction or like, no one's coming to see what I'm wearing. You know what I mean? No one's coming to hear like a celebrity story from me. You know what I mean? So it's, it's a different experience. We have artists that come by and friends of ours in the music industry. And if they've had a hit for a long time, they know they have to play the hit. But they
Starting point is 00:43:40 also don't want to play the hit because they've played the hit so many times. You mentioned Hot Pocket. Is that how you feel at that point when you have to kind of bring that back up? It's, you know, it's, it's been evolving like three years ago, four years ago, you would have said, I would have said, I have to end with it. But, you know, I've done so many specials that, I mean, there might be like a 13 year old boy that definitely wants to hear the Hot Pockets thing. I'm moving a little slow tonight. I had a hot pocket for dinner.
Starting point is 00:44:16 Good to see I'm not the only white trash here. I was looking at a box of hot pockets. They have a warning printed on the sign. So, warning, you just bought hot packets. Hope you're drunk or heading home to a trailer. You hillbilly enjoy the next NASCAR event. But some of it is with stand-up, unlike music, I think. the unspoken agreement is that it's going to be new material and it's going to be good new material.
Starting point is 00:44:56 You know what I mean? So like people intellectually think they want to hear the old stuff, but it's the surprise element of stand-up. So it's the unknown element that I think people really look forward to. But that being said, there is a huge advantage of them knowing my point of view. So like similar to when you, do a show. They know you. So they know what your point of view is going to be about. So there's, it's an advantage and also it establishes a level of communication that is not immediately apparent. I used to watch your TV land show. Loved it. Thought it was just a brilliant show. And, you know,
Starting point is 00:45:39 it was about you and your family and your kids. And, you know, I wonder how realistic that is. Do your kids at this point, do they think you're funny? Have they come along and evolved to know that their dad is funny now? It's so funny because that TV land show was in some way, I don't know how long, you know, time is such a blur. It's so I'm on vacation right now with my family. I think any parent, there is a level of, yeah, my kids, you know, humor is very important in our family, but they're also the harshest critics. What's unique about this tour that I'm doing is that my 16-year-old son is also opening. So it's one of those things where his, I mean, I think he's really funny.
Starting point is 00:46:27 And but it's so it's like humor is pretty important. But like, so his sense of humor is different from mine. I don't know if I'm even answering the question. Yeah, you are in a way. Can you just, they go, my dad's hilarious. Or are you just their dad and you're just their dad that's also a comedian that tells jokes to other people? Yeah, I mean, I've got five kids, so it depends on the age. My 17-year-old probably thinks I'm funny, but, you know, her favorite comedian is John Mullaney.
Starting point is 00:47:00 My 16-year-old who's opening for me, he's much more of an Eric Andre guy. But, and then my 12-year-old probably doesn't think I'm funny at all. My 10-year-old, you know, he's just my dad. And my 9-year-old, he's just my dad. But, yeah, it's weird. Because my comedy is not, it's nothing to be that embarrassed about. So I talk about my family and I talk about parenting and all that. But it's not one of those things where they would be embarrassed to be associated with the material.
Starting point is 00:47:36 You mentioned you're on vacation. Would you be like, I'm on vacation? But hey, and ask your wife, they have a little comedy club down the street. Can I swing over there and do like a little, you know, session, a little set? Would you do that or would she allow that? Yeah, I would do that. And she would, well, this vacation is, I just did a week in, I was in Mexico City for a week and I did a show at the end of the week. It's weird because, yeah, I definitely, like, comedians have to perform.
Starting point is 00:48:08 So some of it is I do always, like if we go on vacations, I'll usually line up shows, like during the, you know, last. Christmas, we were in Florida, so I brought my family and I did some shows around Florida. And I've done that with, you know, like we did skiing, you know, but like part of me, it's too hard. It's because it's two different mindsets. I mean, I don't know about you. I don't even know about your family situation, but the role of a parent is completely different from the job. You know what I mean? I do not because I don't have kids yet, but I would assume that when I'm with my wife, the role of a husband is different than the job. And so I'm having, also, I don't get to, I don't, I'm not allowed. I'm not allowed. I just say it. I'm not allowed. So, mommy's like,
Starting point is 00:48:58 I wouldn't get to work on the case. I mean, I can try to relate, but I'm not allowed. Jim Gaffigan is doing the fun tour. You guys can go to Jim Gaffigan.com if you want to get tickets. In so many of the cities, our show is, I mean, you're almost tour like Zeppelin in the 60s. You go to every city every night. I'm like, I'm looking at the fourth, fifth, sixth, seventh, eighth, eighth, You tore like a rock star. And so, you're going to be out all over the place. Will you, are you working on a special as you do this? Or do you already have it?
Starting point is 00:49:28 Yes. You know, as I mentioned, it's all, the unspoken agreement is that it's all new material. And it's ever creating new material. The expectation is that I'll tape a special in October. But if I get a movie or something, that might mess it up. But yeah, it's always, you know, stand-ups very much self-assignment. And for me, if I'm performing a lot, if I'm doing, like, you were talking about those multiple nights in a row, like, that's a very creative time for me.
Starting point is 00:50:02 That's where I, you know, I essentially do nothing during the day except for listen to the set and kind of write and rewrite. Yeah, it's what I love, though. Jim, good to talk to you. I hope the tour is amazing. I'm sure it will be. And, you know, just a big fan of your work and a pretty good. Appreciate the time.
Starting point is 00:50:18 Appreciate it. All right. There is. Jim Gaffkin, everybody. Got to sleep good. Got to drink a lot of water if you just want to have a healthier life. Like, that's your base, right? Sleep.
Starting point is 00:50:28 It's so important. Old me would neglect it. New me knows how important it is. And I tell you, sleep number is such a big part of my life because that is the bed that helps me get that best quality sleep, just for my overall health. And for my well-being, you know, good quality sleep is important, but so is getting enough sleep. If you can, try to avoid large meals and heavy snacks before you go to sleep. Already? That's your goal.
Starting point is 00:51:33 Yeah. Like, I work hard now, but I'd rather just be sitting there doing nothing making money. And then somebody would come from the night and he's like, why did not think of that? Yeah. This is the job for you, if you could have thought of it. This 38-year-old guy is now running a successful business by being a do-nothing rent-a-man. So rent-a-man is when people just want to go eat or want to do something but have somebody with them. They just go along.
Starting point is 00:51:57 You don't have to have a conversation. You just sit there and do nothing. But it's just so they don't go alone. Like some people don't want to go eat by themselves. So they hire a rent-a-man and he'll go just sit with them. He can be on his phone the whole time. Interesting. Yes.
Starting point is 00:52:10 His business philosophy is that he would rent himself out. to anyone who pays for it. However, he won't do anything during the time. He'll just go and be there. He won't proactively initiate conversations. He's not going to try to please anyone. He says, I lend myself out to do nothing except just be there. I don't initiate talk.
Starting point is 00:52:27 I'll reply to some chit-chat, but that's it. And he's been doing it four years, and he makes a pretty good living off of it. Wow. Genius. Genius. Well, you can, the thing is, this is something that you could still do. You could do this. Yes.
Starting point is 00:52:40 Right yourself. For example, I mentioned the dinner, but how. Halloween, he went to a few haunted houses with people because they didn't want to go alone. Oh. And so he, well, I'm not saying they're lonely people, but maybe they have friends that don't want to go through with them. Yeah, like my wife, she will not go to a haunted house, so I would have to go by myself. So I would rent a man. Well, then you still.
Starting point is 00:53:00 But yes, you could rent a man to go through with you. Man, that is so smart. So you could bring this? So I should start maybe doing this now locally. You kind of already do, I'm told. He does? Go places and do nothing. Yes.
Starting point is 00:53:13 Every day. But get paid for it. Someone would say that happens here. Right now. That we're renting. You're doing a renting? No, because I participate in conversation. A little bit of chit-chat.
Starting point is 00:53:23 You do sometimes. Like chit-chat. It's not guaranteed. I've been with CarShild for years. It's a no-brainer. Why? They make it easy and affordable to protect my car from expensive car repairs. Go to carshield.com slash bones.

Jennifer Zang is a first-generation American and the first in her family to go to college. Well, she's trying anyway. She's had so many rejection letters.
Starting point is 00:54:00 She sends it, can I go to school here? No, no. And she's been recording every single one of them. No, no. Well, she's recording this one. She gets a letter from the University of Pennsylvania. The family gathered around, and here she is, opening up that letter. Oh
Starting point is 00:54:13 This is a harder thing I've ever had to do How did lunchbox show up with that thing? Let's go on. He's there. He's behind her. Wow. Great story. Jennifer Zane, congratulations.
Starting point is 00:54:35 You are an inspiration to so many and that is what it's all about. That was tell me something good. All right, what's happening, friends? Let's go over and catch you up with the news. Bobby's Big. Stories. Sarah Greer called 911.
Starting point is 00:54:50 She saw something weird in her driveway. She looks out there. Man, that's a big rat. Is that a cat? It's kangaroo. No way. This is America. Here?
Starting point is 00:55:03 Yeah. This is from W.S.B. Television. This is in Michigan. Animal control was notified, but the kangaroo was safely rounded up by its owner. The owner said, I have a license. Depending on the breed, a male kangaroo can cost $2,500. A female, about $7,000. was legal, glad the owner got it, glad the kangaroo wasn't hurt.
Starting point is 00:55:24 I wonder if a kangaroo should even be here, though. Like, that's what I wonder and worry about. Is a kangaroo built to be in Michigan? Is it like, I hate snow? Probably. I don't know. I don't know how cold it gets in Australia. Is a kangaroo sad that Michigan lost last night?
Starting point is 00:55:37 Probably. Exactly. You don't think about that. I go next level. The thieves, they did the deal where they run into a store and just start stealing. They stole $50,000 in fragrances, which is a lot of money. but fragrances are quite expensive. I know. Either that's a lot of fragrances they stole or they stole a really expensive kind.
Starting point is 00:55:57 Was a bunch of people, right? Wait, is there a, can you spend a $50,000 or one fragrance? No, not one, but I mean just like, still super expensive. Police said they first began getting reports. The suspects have been targeting stores like Sephora and Ulta. They said? Yeah. In February, the suspects took about $2,000 to $6,000 worth of merchandise every time they went in
Starting point is 00:56:16 and they made a big one and then after that they added it all up and it's like $50,000. Oh, wow. And I guess they're just selling that on Facebook. Maybe different online. Who knows? They can throw it up. Yeah, but that's good. Yeah, I don't know. If I were to be a criminal tomorrow,
Starting point is 00:56:30 I wouldn't know what to do with all the cool stuff I got. I think I'd be smart enough to get it out of there. I just wouldn't know what to do with it then. And then I would be scared. The person was buying it was like, you got a wire. That's from Fox 2 now. Two idiots in South Carolina are facing up to 20 years in prison
Starting point is 00:56:46 after trying to poison their boss by putting eyedrops in his coffee. as I cover my water bottle right now. I mean, every six months, we get an eyedrops in the coffee story. There's an ingredient in them that can lower your blood pressure and make your heartbeat dangerously slow. And so they try to do it. 30-year-old Hunter Howard and 47-year-old Andrew Doty both work as security guards
Starting point is 00:57:07 at a resort on Hilton Head and South Carolina. Well, they used to work there. Oh, yeah. Not anymore. I should say that. They don't anymore because they got fired last Friday poisoning their boss with eyedrops. Again, there's that weird ingredient. And maybe you don't know.
Starting point is 00:57:19 it doesn't taste weird. Or maybe it's just so a few eye drops. And if you had them without coffee, it would taste really weird. Yeah. But it kind of gets lost. You don't taste it. But they put a bunch of eyedrops in a coffee maker. Oh.
Starting point is 00:57:32 So they didn't go over and go, I'm picturing somebody sneaking up. And one person going, hey, guy. And the other one goes in behind him. Yeah. I mean, but this is the first I've heard of happening to a boss. Normally it's women doing it to their husband's coffee. Normally, that's the stories that you remember because, like I said, you're obsessed with this stuff.
Starting point is 00:57:49 think you're up to something. I'm not up to anything. They could face up 20 years in prison. It's felony. That's from W-R-A-L and NBC News. Yeah, it seems like that's a pretty common one, though, because it's so easy. Yeah. I thought it just gave people the runs. And also does it make you feel like if your heart saws. Like, I like it when heart slows down. She just relaxes you a little bit. I go to Walgreens. You get some BISC right after this. Anthony Anderson, the comedian, you got familiar with Anthony Anderson. Blackish. Yeah. Also, I did that show to tell the truth and he was the host? Oh.
Starting point is 00:58:21 Anybody? Mm-mm. Well, pretty famous. But it also shows you famous so weird now because this guy's really famous. Oh, I know. Exactly.
Starting point is 00:58:29 He looked him up. I know his face. He said blackish, I knew. He has moved to New York City. He went to Best Buy to purchase some TVs and he would not be able to, when he realized he couldn't actually transport his purchases,
Starting point is 00:58:39 some guy was like, I'll just give you a ride. So he got in the car with the guy and got a ride back to his place. Wow. Isn't that awesome? That's cool. I think we have this clip.
Starting point is 00:58:46 He shared a clip of himself in a van. with complete strangers. Thanks. I have no idea who these people are, but I'm driving a vehicle right now because I just went to Best Buy to buy some TVs from my new place in New York. And he offered to drive me home, but didn't tell me he had a friend in the car. By the way, we haven't heard from him since.
Starting point is 00:59:05 He posted that. We have no idea. And if you've seen him, please call. And finally, and listen, I have purposefully not brought this up for the day because I know if it were me and I was on the wrong side of this, I wouldn't want to hear it. So I've tempered my excitement for this show because I'm a broadcast professional.
Starting point is 00:59:25 I thought this was going to be your first story. And it was, and I moved it to the back. Okay, shocked. I know, but I don't even know. I've been waiting to figure out. What? You didn't even look to see this one? I have no idea.
Starting point is 00:59:35 Are you serious? I literally have no idea, but I just have felt Bobby's vibe today. So I feel like I know what he's about to say. But I have purposely been waiting and haven't even, I've been avoiding Twitter and all the things. The Arkansas Razorback Celebrate a win versus Gonzaga to reach the elite age. Come on!
Starting point is 00:59:54 Thank you. Go team. Nothing like a good go team gets fired out. Okay. And Gonzaga was the number one team in the country, number one team in the tournament. We surprised everybody. We were a double-digit underdog. That's crazy.
Starting point is 01:00:08 It's awesome. It's awesome. I almost. And again, this isn't the final four or the championship. This is just from the sweetest. 16 to the lead date, but this is so important to me. I almost got a little emotional last night. But then I thought, we got more business.
Starting point is 01:00:23 Like, I'm playing, though. I'm like, I got to focus on the next game. You celebrated for a second. I celebrated for a second. I moved on because I got the, and then I'm thinking to myself, I don't have to play. I can celebrate right until the game starts. Exactly. I can celebrate during the game.
Starting point is 01:00:35 When's the next game? Tomorrow. Wow, that's fast. So they play too quick, right. Not much rest. Now, right. For Bobby or for the players? Bobby?
Starting point is 01:00:43 Mostly me. Yeah. So. Tomorrow. Number four seed Arkansas approved a 28 and 8 overall.
Starting point is 01:00:50 La la la. We play Duke tomorrow. Duke again is better than us and they're a favorite. Better than us in the eyes of everyone else. They're seed number. They're betting favorites.
Starting point is 01:01:01 I'm going to say this. I'm just going to say this because I mentioned it yesterday. We won. So I need to mention it again. I will be watching. My birthday is next weekend.
Starting point is 01:01:14 If for some reason Arkansas wins I will spend my birthday at the final four watching Arkansas yeah yeah you better
Starting point is 01:01:23 I mean listeners can't see this but it's almost like Bobby's struggling to breathe right now when he said that he was like his mouth was like
Starting point is 01:01:31 can y'all believe what I just said I might spend my birthday at the final floor and I don't I'm not making any plans I would never do that no no no
Starting point is 01:01:38 you don't do that right because I don't believe in superstition because what are the plans for your birthday if you don't do that none
Starting point is 01:01:45 because, I don't know, we'll figure it out when it happens. But let me just say this. Not a big superstition guy. However, there is one fellow who has been going to games, and I think he's 21 and 0 when he sees him in person. He's an Arkansas guy. And he's posted every game, and about game 15 or 16, he's like, hey, all the games I've been to, we've won. So he went out to San Francisco for this game.
Starting point is 01:02:08 We won again. That's crazy. And he's like, I have to leave. Because he's like a pastor. He's like, I get it back home. Whoa, whoa, whoa. I've been motor much money last night. Well, yeah.
Starting point is 01:02:17 Donations come in. What? Yeah, no, no. Oh, no, because what happens if this is like a... No, no, no. He's got to go to the games. He's got to go. Okay, but he said...
Starting point is 01:02:27 Then people are going to be mad at him. His name's Chris Brewer. He said, okay, I know you guys want me to stay for Saturday's game, but my flight is scheduled to leave at 8 a.m. tomorrow this last night. But I have to have funding, and I have to have it by tonight to make a flight change. I'm 22 and O, and he has receipts of him being there. And so I... You know, I don't have to say it, but I sent him that much right there.
Starting point is 01:02:47 Oh, wow. And so I was like, stay at the game. And then this morning he posted, ready for this? So it's still. Then he posted this morning, thanks to everyone. But I have a situation that requires my presence elsewhere. No. He has to leave.
Starting point is 01:03:03 No. Did you get a refund? I'm sure. Okay. But he can't figure something out. He pockets the money and doesn't go. It's a whole scam. He never gets a single game.
Starting point is 01:03:12 I believe he's been going. But now, if we lose, it's his fault. Yeah, totally. I haven't been refunded yet. That part makes me feel bad for him. That's like how Jessica Simpson was treated with the Cowboys. What? Whenever she was dating Tony Romo, and like, if she was there, I mean, people started saying she was like bad luck or something.
Starting point is 01:03:31 No one really believed that, though, but, yeah. Well. He wrote on my Venmo because I haven't been refunded yet. Thanks for the donation, but I'm going to have to be able to not going to be able to stay for the game. I'm a pastor and have something unavoidable that requires my attention. and I will be issuing a refund. When we beat Duke, I'll try to make it to the final four. Okay, it's got to be either like a wedding or a funeral.
Starting point is 01:03:50 If he's not there and we lose, it's on him. It's on him. Yep. Yeah, don't make it a thing if you can't do the thing. That's all I'm saying. He probably wasn't expecting them to win. Yes. That's correct.
Starting point is 01:04:04 No, we win. If you don't believe it, don't go. If you don't believe it, don't play. If you don't believe you're going to win, don't show up and do this radio show. Hey, coach. What? That's what I'm saying. Tell us more.
Starting point is 01:04:14 That's all. Okay. Congratulations. Yeah, dude, that's so awesome. I knew. I was like tiptoeing in and I'm like, okay, I don't, I'm not getting the negative vibes from him. I'm exhausted. I watched a lot of game film for the next game last night after the game.
Starting point is 01:04:28 I got right to work for the next thing. You got to be ready. Yeah, I got to be ready. All right, that's the news. Those were Bobby's big. Stories. Hey, it's Bobby Bones. Hey, it's Bobby Bones.
Starting point is 01:04:39 The general insurance is a quality insurance company that's been saving people money for nearly 60 years. To get quality insurance for less, make the right call and go with the general. Call 800 general or visit thegeneral.com. The General Auto Insurance Services, Inc. And insurance agency, Nashville, Tennessee, some restrict and supply. So there's been a lot of basketball in my house. This week's been pretty busy for me other than that as well. So I say, I'm going to take my wife and we're going to go get a massage together,
Starting point is 01:05:05 do like a little spa day for her. And I know she'd like me to be with her. So be happy to do it. So I'm trying to schedule that for today. And I forget we had... the last couple years, we had gotten Amy like a day of the spa. It's like, hey, happy birthday, Merry Christmas, whatever it is. We send her the same nice one all the time.
Starting point is 01:05:23 Yeah. And so I reached out to Amy and was like, hey, what's the name of that spa? And she thought I was taking her on a spa day. No, no. No, the way it was asked, I thought you, me and Caitlin were going. You thought you were going with us? Like a threesome? Yeah, I don't know.
Starting point is 01:05:42 Why would that ever be? Well, I wouldn't go to the spa with you. But I thought, listen, guys, you want to know what I thought? Yes. I thought, oh, wow, he heard us because he does the producer dinner with like all the guys. Behind the scenes. Behind the scenes producer dinner. And, you know, we've talked about, oh, well, lunchbox Eddie, Morgan, like that maybe he's figuring out other ways to show us, hey, let's, let's, this is like your dinner.
Starting point is 01:06:08 But it would be weird if you and I went to the spa. So obviously, Caitlin's coming and that would be fun. but I thought it was my appreciation dinner, you know? Oh. But like a spa day. And something was coming for you, like a golf day and then lunchbox is going to get... Sure. Okay, well, that's because y'all was doing that as like friends.
Starting point is 01:06:26 But I... It wasn't. I was just saying, what's the name of the spa we went to? Well, I think it was some confusion for sure. So it was funny and I had to be like... Okay. You and your wife. Yes.
Starting point is 01:06:36 Okay. Yeah, so they're going to a spa day. Without you. Now she's sad. No, I mean, it's fine. Here's why I take the behind the scene. guys because they don't get the credit they deserve. They also don't make
Starting point is 01:06:47 as much money as, well, Scoop Steve does be good. But they also don't make as much money as you guys do. Yeah. They're not, they don't have the profile to get endorsements. So I take the behind the scenes guys because they don't get that. Yeah, it makes sense. So that also means we don't need to be appreciated.
Starting point is 01:07:02 I got it. You get appreciated in other ways. It makes sense. Yeah, yeah, we're good. It totally makes sense. I just thought, oh, my time has come. The spa day. How weird would that spa day be with me, Amy, and Caitlin? No, weird.
Starting point is 01:07:17 We're all friends. Yes, I know we're friends, but I just say that would be it. Yeah, I don't know. I just, I felt. It'd be worse if it was you, me, lunchbox, and Bobby is spa day. This actually feels good. I'd have fun. What do you think about the rebirth of the old tramp stamp tattoo?
Starting point is 01:07:35 I don't know. I saw that and I don't believe it. Like people are starting to get it again. I don't. This is not. I just feel like. Allegedly, folks are getting it again. They're like, oh, it's coming back.
Starting point is 01:07:45 Everything old is new. Everything new is old again. Was it ever in or was it always a mistake? No, it was always. It was in. I just don't know that this is one that comes back in. I get like high-wasted 90s jeans, but this is very permanent. Yeah, the difference in those high-wasted 90s jeans is you can take them off and buy something else.
Starting point is 01:08:02 This, you cannot. Those lower back tattoos stay for a long time, yeah. The rebirth of the tramp stamp they're saying, it was like early 2000s. And people would go on like spring break and come back with the tree. I think because it was a wide area that did. It didn't hurt terribly. And low-wasted jeans were in at the time. And people wouldn't see it unless you really wanted them to see it.
Starting point is 01:08:19 Meaning you could live your life without anyone knowing until you decided to go, you know, go ham on the beach. Down in Daytona. Or that short shirt where you can like see the back a little bit. So no, we're all good on now? No. This is a trend I will not be hopping back in on. Were you in on it the first time? No.
Starting point is 01:08:35 No. What if I showed you mine right now? She has them on this whole time. How about this question? I'm going to leave this feet to think about. If we do it a big competition You're not even letting me finish I do what you do to my wife
Starting point is 01:08:50 And I see why she gets annoyed Right there She's like what no no no You don't even know what I'm saying Yeah but I know what you're gonna say You'd be like what if we all get a lower back tattoo Or it's on the wheel The loser has to get a temporary
Starting point is 01:09:00 Like those ones that last like 90 days Tramps stamp on their back 90 days I thought it was 15 months I think they're all different And probably the 15 month ones That's for real I just say 90 days
Starting point is 01:09:11 And then you're like, at day 91, you're like, why is it still here? And I'm like, oh, I must have messed up. Okay, so you're in on this too? Yeah. You could end up with a lower back tattoo? We'll do, at some point, we'll do a competition. It'll probably be trivia or something. And the person who finished last.
Starting point is 01:09:25 Bobby's so bad at trivia, so he'll probably not even. Just, Mike, could you get us one of those long-term temporary tattoos? I don't know if they're that long. How long are they? I mean, I think they're only like most a month. That's great. We'll take one of those. Okay.
Starting point is 01:09:39 See what you can find us, and I think we'll keep it in our back pocket. for one of our big competitions and the loser has to wear it from that's hilarious okay so that's there's two different kinds there's the one this like it's like glued on sort of or something and then there's the one that we've talked about that's the actual ink but it dissolves whatever mike gets okay oh boy good okay all right let me know all right thank you guys you can call us if you'd like 877 77 bobby 877 777 b-o b b b b b y you can leave voicemails i got a note here there were hundreds of voicemails about the basketball game last night. Oh.
Starting point is 01:10:11 The entire, and I want to say thank you to everyone who left. All nice, voicemails? I don't, I didn't listen to all of them. Probably. But I got a message,
Starting point is 01:10:18 there were hundreds of VMs about A.R.'s win. Wow, that's cool. So, thank you. I can play one of them. Ray, would you play number two, please, Alan from Raleigh, North Carolina? Hey, Bobby Vaughans.
Starting point is 01:10:30 Just want to let you know, I grew up a huge Duke fan. I'm looking forward to the Duke Arkansas game on Saturday night. Just to let you know, I name my son, Grayson Allen after a famous Duke basketball player. I want to name Christian Leitner, but my wife vetoed that.
Starting point is 01:10:47 To the best of my recollection, last time Duke in Arkansas faced off against each other was the 94 national championship game and Arkansas beat Duke, so we're looking for a little retribution. What I hear there is he named, and I think it's cool to name it after things are important to you, like if you were to name your kid Christian or even Grayson. Yeah. But to name it first and last name, like the middle name their last name? That's...
Starting point is 01:11:11 Farcore. Wow. Commitment. I thought he's got named a Christian after Christian later. No, he wanted all of it. He's like, I named him Grayson Allen. Oh, that's the whole name, buddy. Thank you for the call.
Starting point is 01:11:21 Appreciate all the messages. And we'll be back. There's something for everyone on Discovery Plus. Starting point is 01:11:42 Bobby Bone Show. Bonehead. Story up the day. This story comes us from Morton Township, Michigan. Gas prices are even affecting car thieves. A guy who was driving a stolen car and he's looking at the gas from him. He's like, man, I can't afford that gas. So he drove down the road and broke into another house, broke into their garage to steal their gas.
Starting point is 01:12:02 The alarm went off. Police were dispatched. And that's how they caught him driving the stolen car. So they caught him. stealing the car, but stealing the gas for the car. Yeah, from a different house. How did he know that house had gas? Most houses, most garages don't have gas.
Starting point is 01:12:17 Maybe a little bit for a lawnmower. That's what I have. I was thinking. Well, and that's how he was caught. It was a police chase, and he'd only got a gallon of gas, and he ran out of gas. A gallon. That's what I have in my garage, about a gallon. All right.
Starting point is 01:12:28 I'm Lunchbox. That's your Bonehead Story of the Day. Are you a wimp at the dentist? Yeah. Mostly. Okay. I mean, I tried to be all tough. So I went in and it was kind of a last minute thing and I was in a hurry and didn't want to be numb the rest of the day.
Starting point is 01:12:43 So it just like said, you know, like where you can't feel your nose and your mouth. So I said, I sat down and I was like, no, no, no local anesthetic. Are you crazy? Where they put the needle in to numb. And I said, no, I refused it like three times. And then I was begging for it. The minute they put the water in the air in my mouth and it was blowing. Just the water and air.
Starting point is 01:13:05 Yeah. It was so sad. I was like, oh. So then I got, you know, hit up with the local anesthetic. But I just, it's almost like they were laughing at me. Like, okay, let us know when you want it. And then I was like, oh God, I want it. I want it.
Starting point is 01:13:22 I want it. And it makes me think, like, I never was able to get pregnant. But I always swore once I did that I would try to do it without an epidural. I mean, I probably went back and forth. But now I know. But you can't ask for one. Last minute. I know.
Starting point is 01:13:35 Sometimes it's too late. But that showed me right there. I was like, I can't believe there was ever a time in my life that I thought if I ever gave birth that I would not be able to have an epidural because I am the biggest wimp. Yeah, me too.
Starting point is 01:13:46 You don't ask for laughing gas though? I didn't. That helps so much. They didn't offer that. But you can request it. It costs a little bit, but you can request it. I want it all.
Starting point is 01:13:54 I want the laughing gas. I need the laughing gas for the numbing. I need the numbing. I need the numbing for the actual tooth. I mean, it's the latter for me. But the fact that you were like, no, thank you. No.
Starting point is 01:14:03 Well, our dentist has a puppy you can hold sometimes that helps. I'm afraid that's squeezing pop its head off. So I don't hold the puppy. Oh my goodness. Yeah. Okay. We're going to go. Hope you guys have an awesome weekend. I'm going to watch a lot of basketball. Any big plans? I'm going to watch no basketball. Nice. That's a good plan. But if I let's make some bets. I don't feel as confident this week. I'm weak and we can make some bets, but like last time I could guarantee you like we're going to make a little bit of money. This time it's a little riskier. But if you want to, we still can. But I'm not going to sit here and be like I know. I know where my strengths are and it's tough now. But we can do some drag kings. Okay. I have like a little late
Starting point is 01:14:40 birthday celebration with my family. Okay. So that's probably my biggest thing this weekend. Other than that, chill. Thank you. We will see you Monday. Goodbye everybody.
