Starting point is 00:00:26 No, no, no. I was like, she's beautiful. But I'm appreciating her in a different... way than these boys are. I'm not like, but listen to Los Coleristas on the Iheart radio app, Apple Podcasts, or whatever you get your podcast. Hi, I'm Iris Palmer, host of the Against All Odds Podcast. Every week, I'm sitting down with exceptional people who have broken barriers,
Starting point is 00:00:50 even when the odds were stacked against them. Like chef Victor Villa of Vias Tacos. You know the taquero from the Bad Bunny halftime show? It was great. It was a big moment. It was special. And I felt like I was really representing my family, you know, my brand, my city.
Starting point is 00:01:05 I was representing all taqueros, not only of like, you know, the U.S., but of Mexico and beyond. All the taqueros of the world. Listen to Against All Odds on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcast, or wherever you get your podcast. Most people out here think that taking care of one another is important.
Starting point is 00:01:23 And most people would step up for a neighbor going through a tough time. Most people around here help out friends and family when they need it. But the funny thing is, most of us won't look for help when we need it. Talk to someone if you're struggling with mental health because most people out here really care. Listen to are you a Charlotte on the IHeart radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. Welcome to Monday show. Morning studio. Morning. It is Super Bowl week. We're going to play the Bobby feud. What's the best Super Bowl food? So we rolled the dice before the show started. Amy goes first. There are 10 answers on the board. Two thousand Americans were at. What's the best Super Bowl food? Amy.
Starting point is 00:02:49 Wings. Show me wings. That is the number two answer. Congratulations. Sliders. Burgers. I need the answer. Burgers.
Starting point is 00:03:07 Show me burgers. Lunchbox over to you. Chips and salsa. Show me chips and salsa. Number four answer. Okay. Give me pizza. How about it? Number one answer. Oh, wow. Number one. Give me. Oh, that's going to be too specific. I got to be specific. Give me some seven-layered dip.
Starting point is 00:03:46 Wow, that's very specific. Wow, wow, wow. Give me seven-layer div. I'm not how to describe. Eddie, 2,000 Americans were asked, what's the best Super Bowl food? Pizza's at one, wings are at two, and tortilla cheese. chips and salsa is at four. I'm just going to throw this out there. What about sliders? Sliders on there? It's crazy ask though. Is it?
Starting point is 00:04:08 Number eight answer. Is it sweet? That's amazing. Thank you, Amy. You're welcome. Okay. Let's go cake. Bigging like a shape of a football, you know, cake. Interesting. How about it? Round one is over, points not doubled. The best Super Bowl food.
Starting point is 00:04:31 Nachos. Show it. Number three answer. Worth six points. Good job. Okay. Hot dogs? Hot dogs. I'm sorry.
Starting point is 00:04:49 Pizza wings, nachos, chips and salsa, and sliders off the board over the lunchbox. Yeah, man. I'm struggling here. I'm going to give me, I'm going to give me cookies. We going to give him cookies.
Starting point is 00:05:05 I have the, I'm glad you can all bond over what you had. You have two teams. You each have a cookie. Go ahead. Uh, popcorn? You know, sit down and watch a game. Never been to a Super Bowl party with popcorn?
Starting point is 00:05:18 Nope. I never been able to a little of a little. Oh, really? You're missing out. Final round here. Five are, uh, four are off the board. Amy. Amy's got eight points.
Starting point is 00:05:28 Eddie's got eight points. Lunchbox says five. Okay. Chips and guac. Show me chips and guacamole. No. Down goes Amy. What is the world?
Starting point is 00:05:41 What can you eat at a Super Bowl? party. Geez. Oh, it's eight layer. Yeah, eight layer dip. Stop. I thought that was a... Go nine, dude.
Starting point is 00:05:52 Why not? Six layer dip. Give me... Ribs! Hey, you're on the grill. No, no, I get it. Cooking them ribs. Show me a rack of ribs.
Starting point is 00:06:04 I didn't have that one, dude. Eddie, if you get one, you win. All you need is one. Good. And ribs is out, huh? And seven layer dip. Pizza wings, nachos. Seven layer dip is legit.
Starting point is 00:06:16 No one's saying it's not legit. Thank you. Sliders. Hold on. Go to the list again. Ribs are legit too, but this is a Super Bowl food. Technically a slider is a burger, but I'll love that slide. It is not. A burger is not a slider.
Starting point is 00:06:25 Yellow card. She's been issued one. Oh, boy. One more and she'll be getting a red card. Is every burger a slider? Excuse me? Exactly. Eddie?
Starting point is 00:06:36 You're not going to go down the list? No. Pizza, wings, nachos, chips and salsa sliders. For the win. I mean, I feel like the chips and salsa is one little combo right there. So you have to go. Is it the salsa dip though? Like I feel like chips and dips
Starting point is 00:06:54 Three seconds Bean dip even Show me bean dip even No shit unless the Amy said yes That's a bean dip Oh no Okay wait You get one more guess
Starting point is 00:07:06 Oh we're playing again Yeah because Well Amy and Eddie are tied Lunchbox is out Oh you two I didn't make overtime You get one more guess Okay whatever I just
Starting point is 00:07:13 Fine chips Just chips Do you want me to be specific Yeah. What? Really? Yeah. Cheetos. There's no way.
Starting point is 00:07:26 Okay. How about that, Ray? How about that? Eddie? Yeah. Let's go down the list. Doritos. Oh, I bet it. No, no.
Starting point is 00:07:34 Did we just call it? A Thai. Kiso, chips in Koso? Yeah, Koso was on a list. But she didn't get that. No, she didn't get it. Potato chips. What the?
Starting point is 00:07:47 I went Cheetos. corn chips, halapino poppers, pigs in a blanket, and buffalo chicken dip. Wow, there's the dip. Oh, buffalo chicken dip. I went six layers too deep. I didn't make the list. You guys are all haters. I live for buffalo chicken dip.
Starting point is 00:08:10 Well, you should have said it. At a Super Bowl party. Thank you. You two tie. No music will be played. Great. You both just kind of annoyed me too. Or do you want to play both songs at the same time?
Starting point is 00:08:19 No. That would be annoying as well. That would totally fit. It's the anonymous friend barque. Hello, Bobby Bones. I have a friend who hates surprise parties. And his girlfriend is currently planning him a 30th surprise party, despite him expressing over the years to her and our entire friend group to never throw him a surprise party.
Starting point is 00:08:52 So now I want to tip him off about the party. Sounds like it's going to be a whole big deal. And I can see him being miserable. But she thinks, even though he hates him, a 30th deserves a surprise party. would you tip off a friend or a family member who hated surprise parties if you knew someone was throwing them one signed the surprise killer the answer is mind your own business this is not a it's not a you thing this is a two person thing and everyone else is connected but the two people are one the person whose birthday it is two the person who's throwing the party which is his girlfriend the closest person to him let that relationship decide if there should be a surprise party or not she has decided it he will get it if he's miserable that's on her but it's not up to you to ruin it or in any way to tip him off maybe if you had a heart condition and surprise is going to kill him but other than that it's not your business everybody's not getting everybody's business
Starting point is 00:09:48 what's what's thinking i feel like we've had some emails lately where i'm like what is up with everybody wanting to get into everybody else's business unless somebody's going to be hurt get out of everybody's business and i understand you know the person so you want to do what they think would be best but you don't know what would be best and also you're you're not the number one in that relationship and that battery. You're like an outside of the battery. So get out of their business. You're doing it from place of love?
Starting point is 00:10:10 I can respect that. But this is not for you, Amy. No, I totally agree. Not your business. Let them do their thing. And if they want to react to the person that threw it after it happens and they're upset, or who knows, they may have the time of their life. And it might be the best thing that ever happened to them.
Starting point is 00:10:24 And they had no idea how much they love surprises. And then you're going to go and ruin it if you say something. Just get out of their business, general. Everybody. Take it today and find whose business you're in when you shouldn't be in. get out of it. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Just identify one situation.
Starting point is 00:10:35 Yeah, maybe you're avoiding something in your own life. Yeah, loser. I'm sorry, now I'm going the wrong way. All right, close it up. Lunchbox's kid made him a bracelet. The bracelet's pink and peach and has little hearts and stuff. Lunchbox does not want to wear the bracelet. But what does he say to you every day?
Starting point is 00:10:50 Dad, did you forget to wear the bracelet? Because I didn't see it in any of the videos. How old is he? He's four. So smart enough to know what's up watching videos is dad's not wearing him the bracelet that he made. You were a little upset that he wanted to make bracelets anyway. Yeah, it was my Christmas present. He made me a bracelet.
Starting point is 00:11:08 I mean, I thought that was a little weird because he got a bracelet making kit and made it and okay, whatever. And then he gives it to me and wants me to actually wear it is even like, oh, come on, man. Like, I'm a dude and I'm not supposed to wear a chick bracelet. So you have your wife talking about this? Yeah, my wife came to me last night and just started talking about the bracelet. What about my street crud? That's ridiculous, but... What do you mean?
Starting point is 00:11:34 Your street cred is... Okay. I mean, our reputation is all we have, right? Just wear it, like, out the door so you can see that it's on you. But then when people... Like, take it off when you get in the car. You know, put it on when you film a video, and he'll think you wore it all day.
Starting point is 00:11:54 I just worry, I guess... You're worried someone will see you walking out the door of the time. Yeah, kind of. Don't you think it looks kind of sissy though? No, he made it for you. He loves it and you should love it. All right, let's go make help. Hey, what's your street cred, by the way?
Starting point is 00:12:14 I just curious what you think your street cred is. I just think people look at me as like a leader and like a man's man and rough and tough and not wearing like pink and pearl bracelet. that you're, you know what I mean? Like, they could see you wearing that. Like, me? Yeah. I would wear it without a kid making it for me.
Starting point is 00:12:38 Because you're more feminine and I am more masculine. I have a lot of testosterone and people would not, they would look at me differently if they saw me wearing that bracelet. So after that talk, you know, I realize, okay, so I'm thinking in the next couple days I'll bring it in and we won't make a big deal out of it and I'll just flash it at the camera a couple times. That way only people, saw the video, I'll ruin my cred with them,
Starting point is 00:13:03 but we don't have to say about anything about it on air so all of our listeners don't know that I'm wearing it. What if you did this? And I'm not saying this is the right, appropriate, or honest thing to do. What if you accidentally broke that one and asked me to make another one, but the other one was like blue or something that you would wear?
Starting point is 00:13:18 Well, the only problem is the kit has the same beads. Like, I'd have to go buy a whole new bracelet-making kit. The color was a part of it. Does it have blue beads in it? No. You got a kit of all pink and peach? It's pink, peach and pearls. Mm-hmm.
Starting point is 00:13:33 PPP. Yeah, I'd wear it. I'm just confused at what street cred you think you have and who thinks you're way masculine or a leader. But the millions of people that listen to this show. He's going to start crying. He's getting so emotional he's going to cry. I was thinking we could even shoot a fake video. Like if we could just act like we're doing a segment and I could send him the video of that.
Starting point is 00:13:51 You're going to text it to him or what? I'd send it to my wife. Be like, here, show him this video. And it'd be all of us in the studio talking like we're really doing something. But it never goes on air in our listeners, no. Never know that I wore the bracelet. We're at tomorrow and we'll do a couple segments with it on you. Okay, and we won't say anything.
Starting point is 00:14:07 We'll do a couple segments with it on you. All right, sounds good. Readers, Katie's finalists, publicists, we have an incredible new episode this week for you guys. We have our girl Hillary Duff in here and we can't wait for you to hear this episode. They put on Lizzie McGuire 2 a.m. Video on Demand. This guy's bobo-o-bub.
Starting point is 00:14:24 2 a.m. Whatever time it is. Lizzie McGuire. And I'm like the wild batch you were with. It was like a first closet moment. from me where I was like... You're like, I don't feel like she's hot, like the rest of them. No, no, no.
Starting point is 00:14:33 I was like, she's beautiful. But I'm appreciating her in a different way than these boys are. I'm not like... But listen to Los Coleristas on the Iheart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or whatever you get your podcast. Hello, gorgeous.

Starting point is 00:15:03 untraditionally Lala, I'm still that Lala you either love or love to hate. I've been full on over sharing with fans, family, and former frenemies like Tom Schwartz. I had a little bone to pick with Schwarzy when he came on the pod. You don't feel bad that you told me I was a bootleg housewife? I almost flipped a pizza in your lap. Oh my God, I literally forgot about that until just now. Sorry, I don't want to blame alcohol. I got to blame that one on the alcohol.
Starting point is 00:15:28 This is about laughing and learning when life just keeps on life in. Because I make mistakes so that you guys. don't have to. I think I had like $200 in my savings account and my mom goes, what are you going to do? And I was like, I'll figure it out. We got a one-bedroom apartment for like $400 a month and we all could not afford. Like, I was like, how am I going to make $100 a month? I'm opening up like I've never before. Most people out here think that taking care of one another is important. And most people would step up for a neighbor going through a tough time.
Starting point is 00:16:52 Most people around here help out friends and family when they need it. But the funny thing is, most of us won't look for help when we need it. Talk to someone if you're struggling with mental health. Because most people out here really care. Find more information at loveyourmindtay.org. That's loveyourmindtay.org. Brought to you by the Huntsman Mental Health Institute and the Ad Council. It's time for the good news.
Starting point is 00:17:16 With lunchbox. Stay home, there's something good. Ten years ago, this dad in Pennsylvania wanted to teach his five-year-old how to ice skate. They didn't have anywhere to ice skate. So he built a rink in the winter in the backyard. Neighbors found out about it. They're like, hey, man, can you do that every year? So he finished this year, the 10th year in a row,
Starting point is 00:17:37 he built an ice skating rink in the backyard for all the neighborhood kids to come play on. That's legit. That neighborhood's cool because the neighborhoods I live in, they'd have been like, we're calling HOA. You can't do this anymore. This against rules. Or I've gotten a fine from HOA. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:17:49 So shout out to that dad, because then he did it for all the kids. Do all the kids come to one person's house? Oh yeah, they come to his house and he has a fire pit and parents can sit around the fire pit do what they call them, smores, kids skate. And all I can think about is, he must have a big backyard. All I think about is lawsuits. Like, what's cool.
Starting point is 00:18:08 Let's tell me something good though. We've got to be on the good side. We like it. Good job, dude. That's awesome. That is what it's all about. That was tell me something good. This is the greatest business idea I may have ever heard of.
Starting point is 00:18:20 This guy's launching a service where he will be a, quote, villain for hire. meaning he'll come and harass your girl. What? Well, this is good. He'll come and steal something. It doesn't matter. And you get to be the hero in front of everybody and take him down. Can you beat him up?
Starting point is 00:18:38 Yeah, kind of. Wow. Like, I don't think he wants you to take a stick to his head. But yes, imagine this. You're kind of looked at as a wimp in front of your girlfriend, fiance wife. Okay. Everybody stopped looking at me.
Starting point is 00:18:51 Okay? And all of a sudden, you want to prove that you know, know what, I'm not so wimpy. You hit the guy up, villain for hire, $22 bucks on weekdays in the day. It looks like $70 on weekday nights, $150 on weekends. If he has to travel to you, you have to cover costs. He will come, be the agitator, and you get to be the hero. This is awesome. Okay, and then what happens when she finds out one day, you hire, no, let's just say. The thing about a lion, you got to keep lying forever, and it's very healthy. You just lie forever. But let's just say, she finds out, and then you're like, oh, yeah, I hired a guy so I could look.
Starting point is 00:19:31 Great point. You know, heroic in front of you. I'm glad you asked that because once she's married me, she can't run away. She wouldn't run away for just that. Yeah, you can't divorce over that. I mean, maybe you think you want to, but all the, like, signing of papers and stuff, it's not worth that. And you can always say, like, it was a joke. And you didn't believe it.
Starting point is 00:19:46 And then maybe you train in between and you learn to beat up other people. And then you're like, look how many people I've beat up since then. But in reality, you just hired more villain for hires. Yes. We've already told you all that beating up people is not attractive, though, so. This is awesome. He's 28 years old. You don't think this is awesome?
Starting point is 00:20:02 You don't read this and go, what a great idea. I mean, I just think it's a little ridiculous. I don't know how much money he's actually going to make. Villain for hire service that will allow clients to show off their masculinity and make a big impression on their partners or romantic crushes. Doesn't it counter it out, though? If you have to hire somebody so you can show off your masculinity, that counters any masculinity.
Starting point is 00:20:22 Guys, this must be what it was like when, It cancels. When the steamboat was invented. Like Mark Twain and stuff? What? I don't understand. Like, I believe Mr. Fulton discovered the steamboat, like created the steamboat, or the printing press.
Starting point is 00:20:38 And people looked at it and said, wow. Inventions. Like blown away. Whenever you see something that is just life-altering as far as creations. What about like the light bulb? That's cool, too. Yeah, that's a big deal. You went steamboat.
Starting point is 00:20:50 Internet. Well, Robert Fulton, and the steamboat was actually able to like take things in move the port to port goods and services. And it was big for, it was industrially huge. I'm just saying. The light bulb was big too, but I think of Robert Fulton. He didn't get the credit he deserves. You think about Robert a lot.
Starting point is 00:21:05 Yeah, my name's Bobby. The airplane was pretty cool too. All of that is like this. The first time they heard about the Wright brothers. That's what I'm saying about this guy, 28-year-old Shazali Solomon. Did say what he looks like? Is he like, tatted up? I'm glad you asked that.
Starting point is 00:21:18 This is my favorite story of the year so far. After being told that is unkept, long-hair on biker clothing, make him look like a gang member. He was inspired to start a service that relied on his physical appearance to make a profit. He kind of looks like if he were in the 80s rock band Rat, like not super pretty like some of the other 80s glam rockers. So not poison, but like one of the JV ones where they were kind of ugly but still had the same look. Okay. What if he ends up getting killed? Oh. Well, then the guy took it too far. For 22 bucks on a Tuesday. For a fee client set up a time in a place where he shows up, picks on their partner, or commits the act, gives them a chance
Starting point is 00:21:57 to intervene, and then poses a hero or night in shining armor. Oh, man, this is like the discovery of penicillin. This is up there with that. Audity Central with the story. He even shows up smoking a cigarette. That's awesome. Eddie, he's Hispanics, so he has his top button all the way button. Of course, it's perfect.
Starting point is 00:22:14 And people are scared of us. My wife always says that I look scary. No, she doesn't. Yeah, she does. She's like, I think what's good about you is like, you look scary. I'm like, cool. You're like the Rottweiler of humans? I don't think you look,
Starting point is 00:22:26 I don't think, yeah, no, like a teddy bear. No, you're always smiling. I know that, but if I'm not smiling, watch this. Like, uh, a little. And I'm bald too. I think it works. If you button the top button. Yeah, of course, you got to do that.
Starting point is 00:22:41 Well, hey, question about that in like Hispanic culture. Yeah, yeah. Why just the top button? That's just what the Cholos did. And explain, I didn't know if I could say that word. Yeah. Chola's just a gang member, like a, you know, like a, you know, like a, a gangster?
Starting point is 00:22:53 How does Eddie suddenly know about Cholo? He's from the Valley. I grew up with Cholos. I went to school with Cholos. I can't say that word? I wasn't a Choloh. Can I say that word? I didn't you say Cholo.
Starting point is 00:23:02 I can't. Cholo, made it feel right saying it. No, it's good. He grew up on the Mexico border. So he was around Cholos. Correct. But it didn't have to be one.
Starting point is 00:23:15 Like, I grew up around a lot of gang members. Because our school took them from the schools I got kicked out of it. I'm not a blooder of it. Yeah, I tried to tell y'all that I had gang members. at my school. And y'all... Yes, it is.
Starting point is 00:23:24 We were a melting pot. We had 40 people in our class and like 13 of them were kicked out of other schools. Right. Okay, I'm just saying we were right in the middle of town. Why you try to get in my cholo?
Starting point is 00:23:36 I know, it feels weird to say. So I don't know, do they just button the top button? I really don't know what started that, but that's just their style. This is the greatest invention. If he lived near me, I would want to set it up as a bit for my friends. More so, because my wife already knows I'm he-man.
Starting point is 00:23:52 She's seen me do. some crazy stuff. No, she hasn't. But, like, let's say somebody comes up and I'm with Eddie and Mike and I was like, and then I fight him and you guys like, oh my God, you come on the air telling it. That would be awesome. That'd be awesome. You beat that guy up. Yeah, shout out to this guy. It doesn't really say how to get to a site. Wow, it is, Cholo's the buttoning of the top. It is part of their cultural identity. Yeah. But you can probably Google it, hire them. But you do. If he has to come to your town, you have to pay for the travel fees. The cleaning lady here, Amy, thinks I was asking her for five.
Starting point is 00:24:23 $500. What? I was confused. And so Eddie was in the hallway with her. Somebody scamming as me on social media. To her. To her saying that I need $500. I mean, isn't somebody in this room? Who would do that? No, no, no. She follows you on TikTok. And she said she got a DM from Bobby Bones. So one of these fake accounts. So she speaks Spanish mainly. So she talked to, she called me over because I speak Spanish. She's like, hey, will you look at this? Is this Bobby? And I looked at it. I'm like, oh my gosh. No, this is not Bobby. Do not pay them. But I mean, it looks like it could be Bobby. I mean, if the account's got Bobby's face on it, what's... Well, that part is easy to replicate. But what's the bones on it. But here's the pitch that they did, which is pretty interesting. So they say it starts off very like, you know, conversations. Thanks for like listening. They know she works here with us. No, no. They probably sent it out to anybody that follows you. A coincidence that would make. her even more so go, oh, he's asking me for money. I should help him if I know him. Oh, I mean, I feel so bad that this almost happened. Go ahead.
Starting point is 00:25:29 Crazy. So here's the pitch. Whoever this is says, thank you for being a fan. I appreciate you listening to everything. And he says, I'm thrilled to announce that I'm launching a brand new program to give back to the people who have supported me throughout my career. So I'm launching a show just to give back? It's not a show. It's a program. Okay. And the program has a bunch of different. You sign up for $500 and you, and you, are a registered fan. And with that membership, it's a fan club. Yes. You get all of these perks. I think this is a great idea. I start to write it down for myself. Now go ahead. It says you get exclusive tickets for all my shows. It says that you can enjoy some incredible benefits like, gosh, there's a whole list. I took a bunch of pictures. I feel so bad. Percented share of what I make.
Starting point is 00:26:15 Wait, whoa. I'm giving a profit share in my check. Yeah, revenue. So this is an investment. So this is an Oh my God. Priority updates on anything I'm doing, you get to know first. That's worth nothing. I hope nobody has bought this. That's what you don't know. I hope so. Well, see, I'm just a little torn right now.
Starting point is 00:26:35 Like, I hope that it's been so in demand that so many people have bought it. But then I don't anybody be taking advantage of, so I hope they haven't. Right. But like, the ego part of me is like, man, I hope everybody sees this is something they want to be a part of. But then my heart is like, I hope nobody actually fell for it. Right. But the heart's heavier by 1%. So we're going to get that.
Starting point is 00:26:50 Of course. Guys, if you get this, it is not real. unless it is my actual account, Mr. Bobby Bones, which is why it's universal across all platforms. Because some of them I could have got Bobby Bones, but I did not want it to be confusing. If there is no blue checkmark, not even like a blue ring that doesn't count
Starting point is 00:27:07 because they'll find little blue things to put up. It doesn't matter if it's me or Gary LaVox. Calls-Wendell, maybe, who knows. But other than that, do not. You're not in a relationship with Dirk Spently. I'm not asking you to be, I don't even call our listeners fans
Starting point is 00:27:21 unless it's like some weird thing where they're like, what do you say to your fans? Because I think our listeners are like us more than they are, like people who look up to us. So I don't even say fan. So, oh, I bet if she came to you, that she probably was thinking about it. She had a whole conversation.
Starting point is 00:27:38 And she was coming to me just to double check, like, is this Bobby? And I said, no, it's not Bobby. Do not pay this person $500. Wait, do you think she was, wait, you're wondering if she was actually considering things? She was. If she's asking him about it,
Starting point is 00:27:51 There was a consideration because why else would you even ask about it? You would just be like, now I'm not doing that. Oh, just to give a heads up and a warning that like. I don't think it was a warning of, hey, he's getting scammed. I think it was like, is this real? It was a double check. Well, you double check for me. You know, I mean, Bobby, right down the room sometimes when we go.
Starting point is 00:28:06 Yeah. So, yeah. So we're very close. She's close to us. Yeah. She stands right on the corner while we're in the bathroom going. That's crazy. You were going to offer you in quotes are offering people profit chair.
Starting point is 00:28:16 Let's go. That's amazing. What if I develop? Now it's like, I do. I'm like, let's go. We all sign up. I'll sign up. Yeah, same.
Starting point is 00:28:24 General rule, all listeners, unless it has a blue check mark, nobody is creating secret accounts to quote, talk to their fans on any platform. For money. People are getting rocked by this. I like that Brad Pitt one.
Starting point is 00:28:38 Brad Pitt and bad, it was bad AI pictures. And we've had people that have given money to fake versions of me. And then I'm like, well, let me just pay them back my own money. And then legal and scuba was like, don't because that could be a scam. So public service announcement Scam alert
Starting point is 00:28:52 Scam alert Thank you Don't fall for it Eddie thank you for that Hey this bones too That she was talking to Speak Spanish as well I mean good Spanish too man
Starting point is 00:29:04 You're like gosh guys better than I am Readers Katie's finalists We have an incredible new episode This week for you guys We have our girl Hillary Duff in here And we can't wait for you to hear this episode They put on Lizzie McGuire 2 a.m. Video on Demand
Starting point is 00:29:20 This guy's 2 a.m. Lizzie McGuire. And I'm like, a wild batch you were with. It was like a first like closet moment from me where I was like, I don't feel like she's hot like the rest of them. No, no, no.
Starting point is 00:29:31 I was like, she's beautiful. But I'm appreciating her in a different way than these boys are. I'm not like, but listen to Los Angeles on the Iheart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or whatever you get your podcast. I'm Iris Palmer and my new podcast is called Against All Od. I'm talking to people like award-winning actress, producer, and director, Eva Langoria. I think I had like $200 in my savings account and my mom goes, what are you going to do? And I was like, I'll figure it out. We got a one-bedroom apartment for like $400 a month and we all could not afford. Like, I was like, how am I going to make $100 a month? I'm opening up like I've never before. For those of you who think you know me from what you've seen on social media, get ready to see a whole new side of me.
Starting point is 00:30:31 Listen to Against All Odds with Iris Palmer as part of the My Cultura podcast network, available on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcast. Hello, gorgeous, it's Lala Kent, host of Untraditionally Lala. My days of filling up cups at Sir may be over, but I'm still loving life in the valley. Live on the other side of the hill is giving grown-up vibes, but over here, here on my podcast, Untraditionally Lala, I'm still that Lala you either love or love to hate. I've been full on over sharing with fans, family, and former frenemies like Tom Schwartz. I had a little bone to pick with Schwarzy when he came on the pod.
Starting point is 00:31:08 You don't feel bad that you told me I was a bootleg housewife? I almost flipped a pizza in your lap. Oh my God, I literally forgot about that until just now. Sorry, I don't want to blame alcohol. I got to blame that one on the alcohol. This is about laughing and learning when life just keeps on life in. because I make mistakes so that you guys don't have to. We're growing, we're thriving, and yes, sometimes we're barely surviving, but we do it all with love.
Starting point is 00:31:32 It's unruly, it's unawraid, it's Untraditionally Lala. Listen to Untraditionally Lala on the Iheart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcast. Most people out here think that taking care of one another is important. And most people would step up for a neighbor going through a tough time. Most people around here help out friends and family when they need it. But the funny thing is, most of us won't look for help when we need it. Talk to someone if you're struggling with mental health. Because most people out here really care.
Starting point is 00:32:03 Find more information at loveyourmindtay.org. That's loveyourmindtay.org. Brought to you by the Huntsman Mental Health Institute and the Ad Council. I've been told this is cringe. Because when lunchbox comes in with a street bit, I'll go, is it funny? Is it cringe? Is it entertaining? and they'll classify it as one of the three.
Starting point is 00:32:24 And they're like, this one's cringe. Oh, great. Now, I admire, and I'm very thankful for his efforts, he went out to promote my comedy special, which is tomorrow night on CMT. I hope you watch it, 9-8 Central. I'd love to, I don't know, be celebrated, to have a decent rating.
Starting point is 00:32:38 But Lunchbox went out, put on his Captain Cringe hat, and hit the streets. Was your intention to be weird? No. I was just trying to be helpful and promote your show because I know you want people to watch it. You want good ratings. You want CMT to be happy with you.
Starting point is 00:32:54 So I figure there's untapped market out there. There's people that probably don't know that it's going to be on. Got it. So when I saw opportunity, I pounced. He did him like one person at a time. Yeah. So here is an awkward conversation with a woman in an elevator. Go ahead.
Starting point is 00:33:09 All right, we're going down the elevator. Wee. How are you? Okay. Good. At the sunshine today, it was pretty good. It was great. And don't forget next Tuesday on CMT, Bobby Bowes is,
Starting point is 00:33:22 has this TV special. You got to watch it. 9-8 Central. Bobby Bums. What? When? On next Tuesday, the 4th. It's on CMT. Ah, okay, thanks.
Starting point is 00:33:31 9-8 Central is the comedically inspirational show. What's good. Yeah, so make sure you check it out. Thanks for riding the elevator with us. Have a great night. 9-8 Central. There's an old kid. We've got to go out.
Starting point is 00:33:42 Let's go. Whoa. Yeah. I felt like she was super pleasant, but you had a stroke at some point in the middle of that. Well, my kid was with me, and the elevator was close. closing on him and I was like oh I was trying to grab the elevator replayed that little clip yeah yeah 9 8 central dish in old kid we got to go out let's go what the heck are you trying to say
Starting point is 00:34:01 I was trying to say 9 8 central CMT but then the store the door started closed on my kid and I was like oh kid we got to go out like 9 8 central dish is okay we got to go out let's go okay okay we only have three of these guys so don't worry they could get crunchier next up and don't forget next Tuesday 9-8 Central on CMT. Bobby Bones has got his comedically inspirational show. You got to watch it. Tune in.
Starting point is 00:34:29 Set your DVR. All right, good talk. That was at the cookie place. We were getting a cookie and she gave us our cookies. Herge a kid in there too. Yeah, I was getting cookies with the kid. And she did not answer. She ignored you?
Starting point is 00:34:43 Was she looking at you at all or anything? She just turned her back. Oh. I mean, we were the only ones there. Must not be a bibone show fan. I'm sure she made a mental note. Okay, next one more. And what are you doing next Tuesday?
Starting point is 00:34:53 I'm not here. Okay, look, you got to watch him. My friend Bobby Bowles, he's got a comedy special on CMT next Tuesday, 9-8 Central. Bobby Barnes, it's Instagram. That's his Instagram, but his shows on CMT next Tuesday, 9-8 Central. You got to watch. Okay. Deal?
Starting point is 00:35:07 Yeah. Because you're not here, so you're not working. Okay, so I know you're not working. Exactly. Now you've got to watch that. CMT. All right, thank you. Okay, I think you got a new.
Starting point is 00:35:22 She was nice. I think she thought you were hitting on her at first. What are you doing next? Listen to the first part of the question. Here it is. And what are you doing next Tuesday? I mean, I would feel like dude's trying to get with me right there. For sure.
Starting point is 00:35:30 Yeah. Well, you know, that wasn't super crudgy. I didn't think it was grungy at all. No, it was good. The only weird part was you speaking a completely different language with the element. 9-8 Central. This is all kidding. We've got to go out.
Starting point is 00:35:41 Let's go. Oh, other than that, I thought it was pretty nice. Oh, yeah, tomorrow night. So this, he recorded this over the weekend. So tomorrow night, 9-8 Central. If you guys want to watch on CMT, it'll be on. If you don't want to watch, you can just ignore, like, that second clip. It's time for the good news.
Starting point is 00:35:57 With Bobby Get home It's something good Earlier this month A school bus driver In the Adams Friendship School District in Wisconsin
Starting point is 00:36:07 saved a nine-year-old from choking. Catherine Dornacker swallowed a bracelet clip while on the bus Her brother runs up to the bus driver Jamie
Starting point is 00:36:16 and is like She's choking Jamie with calm pulls the bus over walks back Heimlich maneuver spits it out
Starting point is 00:36:25 Life saved Wow You got to think too If that happens that I'm driving the bus I'm probably and everybody slams up against the door and then everybody's hurt
Starting point is 00:36:31 but he did in the right order he calmly pulled over walked back David the Heimlich saved her life The children's parents Justin and Katrina Nelson express their deep gratitude for his quick and life-saving actions
Starting point is 00:36:41 That's an awesome story Good job Jamie Smozyak Nailed it Nailed it W-A-O-W with that story That's what it's all about That was tell me something good
Starting point is 00:36:52 A voicemail from Jenny in South Carolina Hi studio Love the show listen every day. I have a morning corny joke for you. Why can't a nose be 12 inches long? Because then it would be a foot. I hope it gets a laugh for you.
Starting point is 00:37:11 Thank you very much. Okay, over to Amy. Morning corny. The morning corny. What kind of nuts always seem to have a cold? Okay. What? Cachews. Thank goodness. That was the morning corny. Yeah, we were close on that one.
Starting point is 00:37:32 Yeah, very close. I had to put a finger on the button. A list of how celebrities got famous. Harrison Ford. At age 35, Harrison Ford was working as a carpenter when George Lucas hired him to build cabinets in his home. Oh, wow. Whoa.
Starting point is 00:37:48 George Lucas cast him in American graffiti, 1973, which led to Ford being in the right place at the right time when Star Wars was being cast. So he looked apart. good looking dude, muscles, was building cabinets. George Lucas, like, I need somebody. It looks like you. That's wild.
Starting point is 00:38:05 And he's Han Solo. That's one of the most famous actors of our lifetime. Next up, Channing Tatum. Do you know his story? No, I don't. He was working as a male stripper. Okay, that's what I was thinking. Like the movie, man, it was.
Starting point is 00:38:18 Yes, I thought that was just a movie. That Maven Weissman was so good at that movie. I knew he was a dancer too because he ended up doing the get-up or whatever those movies were. Step up. Yeah, thank you. And step up to the streets. So he was that in Florida
Starting point is 00:38:33 before being discovered by a talent scout. His first job was in a Ricky Martin music video. She bangs, she bangs. And later he started modeling and then got his first big break and step up in 2006. He literally was a male dancer.
Starting point is 00:38:48 Wow. That's crazy. Morgan, could you date a male dancer like you and the girls were all having like a bachelor party and there was a guy there and he was only doing it part time but you hit it off, could you?
Starting point is 00:38:59 And I don't want to say no, but gosh, I just, I feel like that would be hard. It would be feel like it'd be really hard because every night that's what he's going out and doing. Just until he makes enough money to pay off his mom's lung surgery. Wait. That's right. Then, you know, yeah.
Starting point is 00:39:15 I'd be okay with that. Yeah. Yeah. I don't know. I don't feel like this is that hard answer. Bruno Mars. He began performing as an Elvis impersonator at age two. Nice.
Starting point is 00:39:25 Two. Is that like an American Idol? Because I was on that show for four years. And people would be like, when I was one, I just started singing. And I'm like, no, you didn't. There's no way. We can't prove you didn't because we don't have video of you not doing it. But at two, he was an Elvis impersonator. When he was six, he played a young Elvis impersonator in a Nick Cage movie called Honeymoon in Vegas. But he's so like advanced musically, maybe at two he was doing that. What can a two-year-old do, Eddie? Eat stuff. Can they sing songs they've heard on the radio? I mean, barely. But there's some prodigies. Charlize Steyron. Charlis was arguing with a bank teller in Los Angeles when a talent agent noticed her arguing, thought she was so pretty,
Starting point is 00:40:07 and said, hey, here's my business card. Oh, for sure he was just trying to get that. I was sure he was just trying to get with her. And made up that story. The encounter led to acting auditions and eventually her first major role in Devil's Advocate. These are wild. Jennifer Lawrence.
Starting point is 00:40:21 At age 14, Jennifer Lawrence was discovered by a talent scout. while vacationing in New York City with her family. So again, is that just walking down the street? And I would just feel like if some, if it's a woman, it wouldn't, I would think maybe scam. If it were a dude, I would think, creep. I won't say unfairly. I would naturally think that if a dude was coming up to my 14-year-old daughter
Starting point is 00:40:41 going, hey, here's, it would have to be a total parent approach. I'd still be tough, wouldn't it? Yeah, you'd have to go to the actual parent first, right? Yes, and even then, if I'm the parent, Oh, that's tough. Yeah, I'm buckled to the hip. Yeah. So she impressed agents so much.
Starting point is 00:41:00 She landed her first acting roles quickly, including a commercial and small TV roles. Winter's Bone in 2010 earned her an Oscar. That was her like first big acting spot. She got an Oscar nomination. So just walking down the street. Justin Bieber. You know his, right? I mean, YouTube.
Starting point is 00:41:16 Was discovered on YouTube by Scooter Braun. Justin had been posting videos of himself singing covers. Scooter Braun, who was like a club promoter at the time. flew him to Atlanta met with him and Usher landed a record deal obviously now massive but yeah
Starting point is 00:41:31 wow YouTube and I mean that's the Scooter Braun origin too and Scooter Braun's over everything I once flew on Scooter's plane back to Los Angeles with him one day really is a whole crazy story we were at like
Starting point is 00:41:42 we were like rehearsals for CMAs because I was presenting an award and Scooter was presenting an award or he was there for or maybe he was there because Carly Claus who was representing her and I was doing something with Carly Claus
Starting point is 00:41:54 the model and we were just talking in the back room because there's like a freedom in the back room which I'm rarely in the back room everybody just feels like everybody in the back room must be in the back room even if you don't know who they are they're just yeah and he was like hey I'm scooter and I knew who he was and I'm like I'm Bobby and we started talking about where we're going I said I have to go to California to he goes I'm leaving after this if you just want to go with me and I'm thinking in a car you driving and he was like no I have a plane he was so nice and like seriously is yeah so
Starting point is 00:42:26 I got on his jet and we flew to California wow that's cool for like four hours me and Scooter Braun sitting in a chair together dude what a cool story I've never told that story not the same chair uh same bench looking the same way oh yeah okay I get that way like you said oh Mike do you got to go to yeah so we were doing you were producing
Starting point is 00:42:43 see I barely remember this yeah you're like I have to bring my producer with me he's like it's cool I was like this is awesome that's crazy that I'm not dreaming this up no it was the nicest place It was awesome, right? Like full benches in there. Guys, I haven't thought of this story forever. Wow.
Starting point is 00:42:58 I didn't even know Mike when. I thought me and Scooter were just having a moment. Yeah, he was just telling us all these stories about like Kanye West showing his pictures of like his family on his phone. Like positive. Everything was positive. Yeah, I think that's why I have like a positive feeling in my heart about Scooter Braun without really knowing him is that he was so nice to me. Yeah, because there's definitely the negative stuff. Yeah, I think you're famous and you make hard decisions.
Starting point is 00:43:21 Yeah. Oh, yeah. No, I know. Yeah, that was a crazy story, huh? It was wild. I can't believe we did that. And there was food. It was a big private jet, too.
Starting point is 00:43:29 It wasn't like Southwest flight. It was awesome. And that is the end of the first half of the podcast. That is the end of the first half of the podcast. That is the end of the first half of the podcast. You can go to podcast to or you can wait until podcast two comes out. Thank you all.
