02:35 As they pose the question, what if? Listen to Black Lit on the Black Effect Podcast Network on IHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcast. It's time for the good news. Amy, tell me something good. I have a hair appointment today. And I'm very excited about this because it was originally supposed to be next week, but now I have to go to Austin. and I was going to be out of luck because my hair person books way out. That's wild to me.
03:08 Not a bad way, but I hear that with a lot of hair people. Like if they're good, it's hard to get in. Very. Sounds like all lunchbox is doctors. Yeah. That take months to see. Yeah. We'll get you in the new year.
03:18 I got a text that there was an opening today. And I was like, I'm in. Because otherwise, I don't know. And then in November, like, we have things that I need. I just want to have my hair done for. You're going to do anything crazy? You're coming in with a new looker? No. Sometimes you do that. Money piece. No, I'm not changing anything. What was that hair color that you had before? Ombre. Ombre? I've done Umbre before, yeah. Ombre. For years. Yeah. I kind of got right now. Yeah. Are you going to like...
03:46 It's probably going to look pretty much the same. But I just want to, I have a lot of grays that are coming in in the back and I'll get the roots colored. Do you think we can see those? Oh, I can. I pulled out three. not the question. Well, I guess that was my way of answering. You probably don't, but I do. Do you think we can see those? No. We can't.
04:08 We have, I just, you know, we never in a million years. There's nothing about you that screams gray hair. And if, who cares if so? Yeah, I mean, who cares, right? But yes, I was in line at a store and there happened to be a mirror right there two days ago. And I, there was three gray ones just sticking straight up and I pulled them all out with my. And you know, I like to do that anyway. Pull your hair out.
04:27 Yeah. It was almost like a. gateway back into, because I've really gotten better of not pulling out my hair. What's it called trichomaniasis or something? Well, trichinosis is different, but that's a different one. What's trichinosis? I think that's something you get in your stomach. Oh, and those chrykomeniasis something. I, um, my roommate in college first pointed out. I guess I did it, but I didn't know I was really doing it. You pulled hair out? I would pull it. I'd pull at it all the time and then I would pull it out. And then my roommate pointed it out and then I went to a hair appointment.
04:58 I mean, I didn't have a hair person back when I was in college, but I went to get my haircut. And they were kind of like, yeah, it's a little thin back here. And I go, that's the spot I always pull from. It's this back left spot. Trichotillomania. That's it. Hold on.
05:15 Trichotillamina. Trichotillamina. You know, with my dyslexia, that's just not. That's impossible. That's why it's trickaminiasis. Well, I'm reading the phonetic and it's tricketelamina. Trichotillamia. Will you look up Trichinosis and see if I
05:32 was right about it's like a worm or something in your stomach? I don't know. Maybe from pork. Okay. Trichinosis, a parasitic infection caused by worms. Raw undercooked meat. Wow, that's, you nailed that. How did two words that sound so close
05:48 together are like way different meanings? Well, that happens. Hers is hair and yours is pork. Well, they just are similar-ish. Trika. But I think of the words like no and. No. Now, think if you're learning the English language, they're exactly the same, they mean different things. Yeah. That's bizarre. That's tough. So, I'm rooting for you.
06:06 Hope you like it. About my, oh yeah. We have the same hair person? Um, so I go to her sometimes. This is a different person that I go to for more of, she doesn't color. Which is also something interesting to me that a hair person doesn't do all. They're, oh yeah. They specialize. Some do color, some do cuts. Yeah. So she, who we go to, she cut my hair this last time, but then this person will color it. So she'll color the grades. Because yeah, she doesn't. I guess she probably could call her, but she just doesn't. Okay, okay, okay. Ready for a little learning?
06:34 Yes. So, Trichotillomania, whatever that was, and Trichinosis, share the exact same ancient Greek root word, Thrix, which means hair. In both terms, the root takes the combining from Trick or Trichow. Despite the shared connection to hair, the two words evolved to describe completely different medical conditions. Okay. So they were close at one point and then just... Then they separated that. No, they grew apart.
06:58 They grew apart. They grew apart. Like a lot of relationships, they grew apart. Yeah. That's what Oprah was the first person that had somebody, I think, on her show that my college roommate saw, like in an episode of some girl that was pulling out her hair. And that's the first time. That's why it just wasn't really a thing. So this was like, what, 1999?
07:16 Would she eat it too? Because some people I would see they eat their hair and they have these big hair balls in their stomachs. They have to have surgically removed? I don't know because I didn't see the episode. My roommate was just like, hey, I think I saw this on Oprah and I think that's what you're doing. And no, I don't eat mine. Sorry, did you, did you eat your hair? I should have asked.
07:30 I did not. I didn't eat mine. That's a TLC, like my strange addiction or something. But, no, it's a real thing. Some people do it with their eyelashes. Oh, I did that one time. I do it with my pubic hair. No, you don't.
07:45 While I'm doing the show a lot of times. Sometimes if you hear me just talk like that, just know that's what I just did. Awesome. Why are you shaking your head? Because like, where is that come from? Just elevating it. I'm glad you're getting it done. Let's watch.
08:00 Yeah, tonight I can watch my bears on TV. I don't get to see them every Sunday because I don't have the NFL package where you can watch the Bears game and pick whatever NFL game you can watch. So you get to do whatever is on your TV. Tonight, they're on Prime and I have Prime, so I'll be able to watch the Bears, sit on my couch, and enjoy the football game. You can wear your sweatshirt. Yeah, I'm going to wear the sweatshirt.
08:22 And you never wear that one. Yeah, exactly. It gives you a reason to wear it. How many days in a row do you think? you've worn that sweatshirt. 10? No, no chance. More than that. I don't know if you've broken it up by a day or so. I have no idea. Yeah. You don't have YouTube TV, right?
08:36 No. That's why you don't have NFL Red Soon or Sunday ticket. Yeah, I should probably get YouTube TV. I've been talking about it. I keep saying I'm getting rid of cable and then I just never pull the plug. That's a hard cut at first because you spent your whole life trusting a wire that comes into your house, changing channels. I switched over to YouTube TV about two years ago. Not a commercial. They've never paid us a dime. It's the greatest.
09:01 It is the greatest. One, and not the most significant thing is the NFL Sunday ticket and NFL Red Zone. That's a part of it. But everything's on my phone. It connects wonderfully. It's just like cable. I mean, if the power hits and goes out, you lose that too. Also, I mean, maybe I've asked you this before, but can you record TV shows on the...
09:20 Yeah, man. Okay. Because, like, I hate when... And like I say my cable messes up and my DVR doesn't pick up a show. Then I got to go watch it online. Then I got to sit through the commercials. And it's like it makes episodes so much longer. And so like I can watch Survivor in 40 minutes when I fast forward.
09:38 So I just want to make sure I can fast forward through the. You can. You can record shows. I'm not trying to sell you on it, by the way. No, no, no. Everybody tries to sell me on it. My brother. Oh, I'm telling you it's great.
09:51 I'm not getting a cut. Right. They're not a sponsor of the show, but it is wonderful. Do you have YouTube TV? No. Oh, you do cable too? No, I have, like, I don't really have. You have Hulu?
10:04 Have Hulu? You have Hulu live? I used to, but then I downgrade it. So I can't really, like, watch certain sports, which is okay with me. So you might not have live TV. Correct. Oh. But I'm okay with that.
10:16 You know, I don't need live TV. I have Disney Plus. I don't need live TV except for sports. That's it. Same. Right. That's why I scaled back on all that because I'm like, and then sometimes you can go log on to Fubu or something.
10:32 No, Fubu's a brand. Yeah, Hube. Fubo. Fubu. I don't know. What is it? Tuba. It's like there's something you can go.
10:41 Fubo. Sometimes you can go and get sports there. And you just do a free trial for seven days, watch the game you want to watch, and then get out of Dodge. Get out of there. Yeah. Fubo, live TV in sports. Yeah, see?
10:56 I only went to that whenever YouTube was fighting with one of the networks, and the networks had college football. It may have been ABC or the Disney properties. Yeah, I remember. And I was over on Fubu watching all kinds of sports. It felt like a neighborhood that had always been close. I'd never driven through. And spent a little time there.
11:14 I was like, oh, I enjoy it. I'm probably not going to go back, but I enjoy it. Yeah, good for you. It is good, though. Yeah, it's nice. So it's good. And then Eddie has Hulu Live. I have Hulu Live.
11:25 Which is also really good. With the bundle where I get all the sports. But how do you get NFL Sunday ticket? That's separate. But you can't get that on Hulu Live. I know I got on YouTube, just YouTube. Not YouTube TV, but just YouTube. Oh, dang.
11:35 Do you play the whole price? No, I got a little deal. Oh, yeah. I'll use a college email. Yeah. Don't say who. Don't say who. You don't have to tell everyone.
11:43 Yeah, they're scamming. Eddie's a scammer. No, no, no, not scam. Just get a little discount. I did it for a couple years using his email. And then I just... Wait, why does it... Why is a certain email a better deal?
11:53 massive discount if you have a college email address because they think you're in college and Eddie's psychology student. Don't worry though. Dot edu. Next year we'll be legit with my son in college. Be legit. Oh, by legit, you're going to use his. Correct.
12:05 Which you're still not in college. Right. Eddie, tell me something good. I don't know. This one's kind of bittersweet. The kind of bad news is that I'm going to have to buy a car, but the good news is I'm going to buy a car today. So I'm going to meet my wife at the dealership and we're going to buy a car.
12:21 And she's excited because it's a new car. but I'm not excited because we have to buy a new car and her last car got wrecked and we're having to pay on that. So it's just bittersweet. It's going to be exciting to have a new car that kids are excited because they get to get a new car and it's their car. It's the family car. But I'm kind of not looking forward to it. Your outlook has become a little more positive though. I do want to commend you for that because you really hated the idea of having to get a new car.
12:50 Yes. But your wife got hit. It was the other person's fault. Totaled the car. They didn't have insurance. They didn't have insurance. So you got to check. And so now that check will go toward a down payment.
13:01 But now you've got to get a note, though. Yes. And here's the thing, too. I did ask, like, can I keep the car? You cannot keep the car. If you take the money, you cannot keep the car. Right. And they said that they're just going to auction it.
13:13 We told you that. I know. I was just making sure. Go buy it auction. I buy it back. Yeah, go buy it at the auction for cheap. And then strip it. We can all buy in like the palli.
13:21 and then see what we can make off the parts. I mean, it's just to me, the back of the car, if you took 100% of the car, right? I would say night, 15, maybe 10% of the car is damaged. Yeah, but I don't know. The frame must be damaged. I understand, but if you strip it, I mean, all the doors are good. Then go buy it at auction. The hood is good.
13:42 The carburetor is good. Like, everything is good except for the very back of it. Do you guys see that story about the cartel stealing all the rental cars? No. What? So, and that this is areas of the country, not just border towns, but somewhat close to border towns, like in 200 miles or so, at least, they're stealing rental cars and driving them across the border and then turning them into basically cartel tanks. I mean, that's... Cartel tanks?
14:08 Oh, so they go rent them and then they just never return them. They never return them. What are they going to do? And then they, yeah, you ain't going to get them. And then they turn them into cars and trucks for the cartel and they, like, put weapons on them and stuff. Damn. Yeah. I'm calling them mutant tanks.
14:21 I'll read you a little bit of this. That's kind of cool. A new report says Mexican cartels are now in business, stealing rental cars from American companies. Cars have been stolen from all these major cities. California has been the easiest, and they take it, and it's now there's forever,
14:37 and then they get Chevy Suburvans, Ford Raptors, they turn them into mutant tanks with modifications like gun mounts, firing, ports, and ballistic proof still plating. It's like it's so it's now there's forever just because they say so? Yep. It's like,
14:50 I mean, you're not going to go get it. Yeah. Nothing. That's my car. No, it ain't. Nope. Nope.
14:54 Just kidding. The tank has Enterprise written on it. So, Eddie, do you know what kind of car you're getting? You have it picked out or you just go to look? My wife has it picked out. She's already checked out online. Got it. Yeah.
15:06 Maybe you get a new color, though, so it seems new. Yeah, it's a new color. That's fun. I mean, it's the same car, but different things added to it, different color. Newer, too. There are going to be features in it. Yeah. it's not a full positive because again you have to pay for a car but eventually you were going to have to do that anyway
15:24 that's kind of where i'm coming from yeah good for you for seeing it a little more positive thank you okay so me i'm just got some little things like nothing significant but i'll say i now can look at the internet without having to worry about there being spoilers for a movie i was wanted to see so i was just in nathan philter tic talk all day yesterday for that documentary you can see everything you know what's yeah so i watched it if you missed yesterday podcast and it exists. You guys feel free to watch it anytime. No review. But now I can watch like all the theories and I can go to Reddit and read about it.
16:02 Man, I've been really waiting to do that. I feel good. That's exciting. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Another thing, and I hate really jumping way ahead, but I spent like an hour and 20 minutes yesterday. Amy, I'm going to tell you a name. Tell me if you know where he's from. Billy Corgan. Smashing Pumpkins. The lead singer of the smashing pumpkins. Wow, Amy, good job. I just saw him in Vegas.
16:22 Oh, yeah, that's right. They played IHeart Festival. He came over yesterday. We did an hour and 20 minutes. Oh, did? Yeah, Bobbycast. Oh, that's cool. It was really cool.
16:30 He lives here? No. They're playing a show tonight, but he came in early to do my show. That new venue, truth. Yeah. Yeah. And he's someone that really DGAF about anything. And some of his content, he can look like, screw you, man.
16:47 And some of it, he's nice. So I just had in my mind, he was going to be very, difficult. And that was actually okay too because I enjoy the people that are like that. If that's naturally how they are, that's what I want on the show. And so I was kind of going into it, not ready for combat, not with a mutant tank, ready to fight him. But it was just, it's a different kind of mindset. And he's a legend. So he comes in and he was, I would say, he was active in conversation. He was also a bit like me where I would say some people think that, I always have or try to find like the opposite opinion just for fun.
17:28 Mm-hmm. It's funny that that's what's fun for you. Yeah. It's just like doesn't ever cross my mind. So he's kind of like that? Very much so. I'd say something to be like, that's not right. But I loved it.
17:40 I had such a good time with him. I don't think he'll come off as like the warmest guy, but he's a very smart guy. And he knows exactly who he is. And I left going, man, that was a really, for me, that was a really, rewarding hour in 15 minutes or so. Is he a big guy? He's probably 6'3. Okay.
17:59 There's a picture we have. He's that big? He's that tall, yeah. Man, because I remember getting tasks from him at I Heart Festival, and I don't remember him being that huge. I seen a picture last night. Yeah, I didn't compare you to. He's a couple inches taller.
18:12 I've had some big guests. Like Brothers Osborne are up now. They're a wrestling tag team. Oh, big guests as in big dudes, yeah. Yeah. They're big. So I very much am a contrarian. felt like he was very much a contrarian when you get two contrarians going at it with each other
18:26 because we were debating why young people come to his shows now. Oh, so what's your theory versus his? So my theory was at his shows, at their shows, because they're hitting hard again now. Like they obviously were massive in the 90s and now they're selling out big shows everywhere again. And he talks about that, how people felt like they fell off for a while. He kept doing the same thing, but now they're back significantly. And, He was like, why do you think that is? And I said, well, I think there's a couple things.
18:55 I think you have people that are my age that now have money. It can go to shows. And so we're all going. And with that, I think that nostalgia, a big part of our culture right now. People love nostalgia. It doesn't matter what 90s country, old movies, nostalgia really sells right now. And then I think that there's a lot of kids and young people that are there whose parents probably played that music a lot when they were growing up.
19:20 And that was my theory. And he said, well, that's wrong. Oh. So what's his theory? Then he said he really didn't know. Oh, he just wanted to disagree. And then he had some theories himself. He said, well, I don't know the right answer.
19:32 Billy Corgan. You're wrong. He's like, I don't know about that. He's like, that's wrong. And then he got a little heated at me because I said I didn't get kiss. You don't understand the band? That I didn't get. You didn't vibe with it.
19:46 It was before me. And he was talking about, I asked him what posters he had in his room. He was a trailer part kid. And I said, do you have any posters in your room? And he said, kiss. And I said, help me understand kiss. Because eyes little before me. And I don't see much more than a couple songs in the face paint as someone who didn't get to experience them live.
20:06 And he really took me to the woodshed. I didn't let me have it. And then by the end of it. So he's pretty passionate about kiss. We had his favorite band ever. Yeah. Yeah. Is he older than us?
20:20 59. He's older than us. He does not look 59 No, he doesn't. It'll be out in a couple weeks. And I hate to talk about all that now when that's not out for a couple weeks. Mike, what did you think about him?
20:29 There was one point I thought he was going to walk out. He got so heated, but I think he was just passionate. Yeah. No way. There's like that level of like, is he being serious? Is he really upset? And then he's like, just brought it all back. I'm like, oh, I think he's just that way.
20:40 He came in so nice. We sat down, sparred a little bit, had some fun, sparred a little bit more, had some more fun. When he left, some of the guys on my crew were like, how did you feel about that? I was awesome. It's got to be like a pilot who likes turbulence. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
20:54 And no one else likes it. Yeah. Because it's like you're riding in it. Because you just do the same thing over and over and over again. You're like, man, I'm kind of bored, even though everything's going smoothly. And so you get someone in, one, that's a legend and two, oh, I got to sit up a little bit. All right, let's get it. So it's great.
21:10 Couldn't have been better. Love it. Everybody good? Good. Yep. All right. That's what it's all about. That was tell me something good.

Because I wanted to understand what the most consequential builders believe, what they fear, and where they think this is all headed. Silicon Valley is always saying. saying the cliche thing about the way to predict the future is to create it. Well, yeah, it's up to us.
23:31 But when you say us, who's us? Is it 400 people that you know in Silicon Valley? Is it me down here in New Orleans? They're brilliant, controversial, and they're already shaping the future. The question is, whose imagination do we want to live in? This is going to determine the fate of nations and economies and the future of humanity. Listen to the builders on the... 26:47 I had to buy that package through my Prime. Just for that show. What is it from? Abby, are you watching it? Do you love it? Yeah, it's so good. I'm obsessed. That's why I'm like, I can't believe no one else in here has.
27:01 Oh, no. I've watched some of my daughter, but she's seen every single episode. It's really good. But, yeah, she was walking around, like, everywhere with it on her phone. Like, we'd be in the car. What are you watching from? We were walking through the store. What are you watching from?
27:14 Like, she couldn't stop. I think we finished season four. And I'm not sure how many are up on Netflix right now. Do you? Do you know? Oh, no. I don't know how many on Netflix. I think it's just three.
27:25 There have been three whole seasons up? On Netflix. Okay. Yeah, because you can watch it elsewhere, but you kind of have to pay. Well, four was the one that just came out. in like June. Got it. So the three that are up now
27:35 were the previous seasons. It's so good. I don't know what the Rotten Tomatoes is on that show. And I should not like the show. The reason I got into the show is because someone told me, hey, it's kind of an end-of-the-world
27:45 type show. That's all they would say. But they said it's so good. And then I watched it, and there's a bit of horror in it. Yes. But more than horror, it's into the war.
27:54 It's like you're just trying to figure out what's going on. 96%. Yeah, it's awesome. That's a recommendation. I know it's not Tuesday, but I finished all four seasons, and I think they're doing one more, the final fifth season, which they may have already recorded. But it's excellent. Don't watch it late at night if you get nightmares.
28:15 Oh, is that scary? We would not watch it. Well, not for my wife. She can go to sleep after watching something scary. I can't. But we would watch it not in the day, but we wouldn't watch it like after 6.30 or so. Because sometimes we'll just watch shows and then fall asleep right after. Yeah.
28:30 Yeah, when it gets dark, oof. So from, we'll enter its fifth and final season, 10 episode run, premiere in 2027. So it's a lovely scary show. But it's not just about the jumps, the jump scares. There aren't a lot of jump scares. Have you watched any? Yeah, I watched like the first three episodes before my trial ran out. Oh, now we watch it on Netflix?
28:51 I'm going to watch it now. Pretty bloody, though. Yeah, blood doesn't really bother me. Because it's just human? No, I think the most like bloody show I've seen is squid game. Oh, God, that was a lot of blood. And that's just like, even if it's not blood, it's just like, yeah.
29:11 Okay, well, I'm glad you shared that. You guys should check out from them if you want to. It's good. Ray, play number one. Hey, Bobby Vone show. I'm listening to Monday on the podcast, and it sounds like Lunchbox's dog's name is Chase. I just was wondering if he's named after Amy's boyfriend, Chase Locke.
29:28 Just curious. Okay, two questions to ask here. Lunchbox, is your dog's name Chase? My dog's name is Chase. Okay. Is it named after Amy's boyfriend Chase Locke? No, I wouldn't name him after Chase. Chase already stole money for me.
29:41 I'm not going to have him in my life all the time. Fair enough. My dog is named because he likes to play Chase. Got it. Right on the nose. Not after the Paw Patrol either. My kids want to make sure that is known that they named him because he likes to be chased. He likes to chase or be chased?
29:56 Both. Play Chase like you chase him and he chase. and he chases you. Just loves Chase. Now, Amy, the follow up to this is your boyfriend, Chase Locke? No. Got it. Oh, okay.
30:05 It's funny that our listeners actually know Chase's last name. I know. And I appreciate that because that's such an inside thing that we really only do on the podcast. So, yeah, you call her. That's funny. And thanks for knowing all that. But that is not Amy's boyfriend. Nope.
30:19 Okay. And dog is not named that term for sure. Okay. Number six, Ray. Hey, Skiva. The song needs to come before. The morning intro. I believe in you, pal.
30:31 You can do it. Oh, boy. Let's make it happen. Oh, boy. Okay, so I don't know what's been happening, scuba. Go ahead. Oh, man. So we were told to put back in the morning studio.
30:39 That was to be first. So we put that in there. And then it goes, a bye-bode show, morning studio, morning. And then it goes into the song, and then the show carries on. And now he wants the song first. I wants a song first.
30:52 But the song used to be at the, towards the end of the show. It's just like, we can't let the inmates run the prison here. Like, we should have our structure. and then we move on from it. Let me think of the structure that I would like. Because I don't ever listen. What do you want?
31:02 And that's what we're going to do. And that's what we're going to do. I mean, one guy wants the song first. I mean. Well, one guy can be the leader of many. Yeah, but you're the warden. Yes. And that song used to go first.
31:13 And then I didn't make it first because now that someone else wanted the top of the hour first going into the morning studio. How long is the song? I think it's like 30 seconds maybe. Do we beep out Morgan's names? Yes. That's funny. I got to go to read and see if he has another file of that. Because it feels like we're blocking her out.
31:30 We're not. It was just something funny we did because her name's still in it. It doesn't make sense. If you're new to the show, you're like, who the heck's Morgan? I think we start with the song. Okay. And then go to the content. So in that morning studio from what someone asked from last week, we just omit?
31:43 No, no, we do it right after the song. Okay. So now it's song, top hour, morning studio. That makes sense. Content. Yeah. Okay. I would think so unless somebody else calls the complaint.
31:54 Because I originally thought the whole morning studio thing just needs to go and it's just the song right into content because it's like let's get right to it because top hours I would say yes if that was on radio you have a point but if people are listening to a podcast they have decided to come to us and hit play and they're not passive listening and we don't have to like fire quickly to keep them they're they're us so they're going to sit through stuff yeah um I think we go song morning studio content okay all right you hear that everybody another reason too is uh yes I think that's it for now Is that the final answer, Scoob? I'm sure it'll change again in a week and a half.
32:31 And you know what? That's fair too. Did you write it down, Scoba? You're like that server that doesn't write anything down. He doesn't need to write it on. That's super simple and easy. Wow. Because it'll change again in two weeks. So who cares?
32:40 Well, that's the spirit. Well, not at Bobby's account. It'll just be another inmate coming in to complain about the show. Okay. Do. Number three. Hi, Bobby. Longtime listener. This is Nancy from Spring Branch, Texas.
32:57 on lunchbox illness, has he ever gone and checked his prostate? He really probably needs to look at his prostate because that's all part of that whole area. And if it wasn't for my husband being diligent about checking that stuff, we would have never found out that he had prostate cancer. You know, this is serious, and I really wish Lunchbox books go and get his prostate checks. Thanks. Is that the one where I went to the gastroatologist? To check your prostate, they sit their finger in your butt.
33:26 Correct. Oh, wait. Hold on. Did they do that? You don't remember that? No, no, no. They, no, I thought they were going to do the colonoscopy. I went to the gastroatologist person and he goes, yeah, I could check, you know, I could give you a, what is it called?
33:43 Colonoscopy. Colonoscopy. But I don't think that's it. But also that type of doctor can also stick. Yeah, but he didn't do that, but he didn't think it was that. But they've been so wrong. So how do you know they're right about what they didn't do? Honestly, like I get him not being able to keep up.
33:57 Like there's so many doctors. Yes, that's a great question. I don't know. He didn't even mention that, so I figured that wasn't needed. I didn't know what else. I wouldn't. Like, he tried to upsell me on the... He tried to upsell you.
34:11 Yeah, he tried to upsell me on the colonoscopy. Because he said for fun, remember? He's exactly what he didn't say for fun. He said, oh, I don't think it's anything to do with your colon or anything, but I can give you a colonoscopy on Monday. Like, what? No, no, no. That's an upsell.
34:25 That's like a you don't need it. But I could give it. to you. I don't think he makes a commission off of giving you a colonoscopy. But he makes more money if I come and get a colonoscopy. I don't know that that's true. Yes, because I'd have to make another appointment. It's not going to be free.
34:40 So he's going to make more money just the way he said it like, but I can give you one on Monday if you want me to. The hospital can make more money. A different doctor or a nurse could... Well, he was the one that was going to do it. Yeah. So he's going to get paid. That's like your tires are fine, but we can get your new ones. Right, exactly. It's like... But I think she's just saying get your prostate checked.
34:57 because cancer, dude, that's scary. No, it is. Like, you don't want that. Obviously not. Well, so then be proactive. Check the prostate. I mean, if that's what they think it is, I will. Do we need to bring someone to do that?
35:10 Probably not. Or can we just do it here? I don't know what. You want to stick your finger up my butt? I don't know what to touch exactly. And he's like, I want to do it. All right, play five. Good morning studio.
35:22 I just can't with lunchbox. He says that he doesn't know. anybody with gum disease. What do you think periodontal disease is LB that keeps you in the dentist chair for two hours for a tooth cleaning? Let me give you a clue. It's gum disease. Oh, he has it. Yeah, I don't have that. Best call out ever. He does have that. He does. Yeah, remember you had a tooth cleaning? We texted our dentist and he confirmed that's the disease you have. No, I mean, they just said they had to do a deep cleaning because I hadn't been in two years. And, that that was it.
35:58 You're going to be sedated. For two hours. For two hours you had to sit there. No, I wasn't, they just numb my gums. I wasn't sedated. I was talking to them the whole time. Okay, so maybe I exaggerate it. You might have gum disease.
36:10 No, they said I'm good. They said they're just going to clean it out and we'd move on with life. They say a lot of things that are pretty flippant. Like, hey, just watch YouTube. Hey, you're good with life now. I don't think people actually say this to you when you're in the doctor and dinner. It sounds like you're not really listening to what they're saying. Literally, they said we just got to, it's been too.
36:27 two years, so you got a lot of plaque up in there, and we don't want to, your, you got to do half the mouth, so it's not so sore you can't eat. And how long did that take for half your mouth? An hour? And then they went right to the other half? No, no, no, like a week later, because they wanted you to, your mouth not to be sore. I've had some cleanings and some deep cleanings, and I've never had to go into two parts. Never.
36:47 And I've had bad teeth experiences. Like everything has been in cavity in my mouth. Yeah, and I'm supposed to go back later this month for my... Gum disease checkup? No, three months. see how my everything's healing. Did they say anything like parodontal? No, they said life's good.
37:03 I said, you're good, you're good, life's good. Let's just not go this long in between now. And I'm like, all right, cool. Did they upsell you on the extra long and you come back twice? No. No, no, no. It feels like they did. No, they didn't upsell because they wanted to make sure you're, you could use half your mouth.
37:18 Because they thought I'd be so sore. I've never heard of that. Yeah. What do I know? I wasn't there. Yeah. I mean, I'm telling you. I tell you guys what the dog is.
37:27 doctors tell me. I know exactly what goes on. I think you are telling us what you remember the doctor telling you. No. Like what doctor have I told you anything wrong? Memory is not an exact science. Mine is. Steal trap. That's not true for anybody really. Because sometimes, well, I think most of the time, the way you last remember something is your next recall. How lunchbox has a great memory though. Like he remembers people in his second grade class. He remembers like random things but not normal everyday things. Like what's a normal everything? Every day thing I don't remember. that. Yeah, I think someone's name is very different than
38:01 something that was said at a doctor's office. Also, somebody you spent all of elementary school with is different. We just don't shout out our elementary friends. I can remember my elementary friends as well. I just don't find a reason to shout him out. I mean, do you remember Bethany Herota from your English class in college? Never talked to her in my life, but I remember her name. Paul Chelsberg. I mean, unbelievable. Okay, so names are your thing. I remember Sean Stonicki. Never met him. Only saw him walk across
38:23 campus one time. Sean Stonicky? Yeah. Why? I just made that up. It's how easy it is to make it Oh. I don't think he's making it up, though. No, it doesn't matter, but regardless, you have gum. Sean Stonicky. Yeah, I know. That's a great name, dude. Holly, I don't remember people I hung out with college for, like, every day for three years.
38:39 I don't remember some of my friend's names. What's your name? You have gum disease. You can't diagnose me with things. Our dentist said it probably was gum disease. Probably. That's probably. That's a hypothetical. That's him inferring without knowing. Well, you just don't out word. No, no. That's without facts. He hasn't looked in my mouth.
39:00 It's not hypothetical, though, because you really did it. No, no. I did something, but I didn't do gum disease. It's not like I had to have a gum transplant or something. Dude, it's okay if you have gum disease. It's not a big deal. It's not a big deal. I know. We want you to beat it. I don't have it. You can beat this disease. You can beat it. Eddie's beat dyslexia. He reads all the time, and you will beat gum disease. I don't have it. Okay. Thank you, everybody. Call us if you want. 877-77 Bobby. It's time for the good news.
39:26 With producer Eddie. Yeah, I'll make something good. Kingston and Landon, they're teenagers, their brothers. They're from Tennessee, but they're on vacation at Cocoa Beach, Florida. And they're on the beach, beautiful day. But the waves are crazy. Like, for some reason, the waves were big, and they're walking on the beach, and they see this dad and son, like, just struggling out there.
39:48 Hands up. Help, help. Yeah, well, Kingston and Landon, they're not really lifeguards or good swimmers, but they're like, let's go help. And they jumped in the water. and they told him, please just don't just bring us down. Like, we're going to help you, but just you got to relax. And they got them both with help of a lifeguard that showed up randomly, and they brought
40:06 them back to safety. So don't a lot of lifeguards get pulled down because the people are freaking out? That's why. Like, for some reason they knew to tell them that. Because as a lifeguard, you say, hey, I'm going to need you to relax so you don't pull us both down. Did you do that with all your saves? Dude, this reminded me of my save.
40:22 Yeah. Because the exact same situation. where a kid is struggling, the parents sees them and says, oh, I can help. Well, they can't swim either. And guess what? Both of them are in danger. And that's how you got your double save. That's how I got my double save.
40:36 You don't want to brag. Hey, and that was years ago. You're not a hero. No, no, no, no. Yeah. Their names are what, Kingston? Kingston and Landon. They're both from Tennessee, but they're heroes.
40:47 I shout out to those kids. That's what it's all about. That was Tell Me Something Good. It's time for the good news. With Lunchbox. Tell me something good. Diane and Brian Johnson of Beaverton, Oregon have been trying to replace their HVAC. It's old.
41:04 It's not working, breaking down, but it costs $16,000. Diane's been working three jobs just to keep up with the mortgage. Winter is coming. They're going to be freezing cold. So they applied to this program called Linux Feel the Love Program, and they got approved for a brand new HVAC for free. How do you feel about that? I feel like they are doing everything they can. This is a situation where they're actually working trying to do something.
41:33 But you judge people on giving Tuesday and you don't know if they're working or not. You don't know their situation. I do. Because I read one paragraph that they sent me in DMs. Yeah, they're like, ah, my husband's mad at my dog. Can you help me pay for this? That's not what it was. Or, oh, you know, I want to go to Disneyland.
41:48 I want to go to Legoland, Mario World, whatever it's called. Oh, we want to go on a cruise. We want to go out to dinner. It's like, what? That's not. Well, you're holding on to that Lego Land. Yeah, that's the big one. But you like that one.
41:59 Yeah, this is pretty cool that, like, I mean, she's working three jobs and she still can't afford it. Like, you don't want them to freeze the death. I agree. I like it, too. I'm just wondering how you're doing the mental gymnastics to say one's okay if the others. I've always told you, like, you know, if someone needs their electric bill because they're working three jobs or they broke their leg and they're out of work, that's fine. Specifically just that? But when you're paying for a travel baseball team, not really needed.
42:24 You have to be working three jobs, I think. No, no, no, I didn't say that. I'm just checking. I don't know. I'm just checking. This is a need. This is not a want. Well, the dog's tooth who needed to be.
42:36 That's not a need. If the dog is in severe pain? That's because the husband didn't want to fork over the money. And you probably only had one job. Good point, good point. I do like that story a lot, though. It's a good one. Yeah, that's great.
42:48 Yeah, good. They're going to be warm this winter. There you go. That's what it's all about. That was Tell Me Something Good. How do you know that Claude won't become manipulative? This is a constant worry. And you can actually catch the model thinking I think X is actually true, but I'm going to tell the user why.
