03:55 Then you're ready and me lunchbox. Leave red out It's trying to put you through Mike is riding his week's next bit Now Bobby's on the mic So you know what this is This is the Bobby Bones store
04:13 Bobby Bones come on Let's go to Paul Hey Paul, what's up buddy? Hey Bobby, how you doing? Morning studio. Morning. We went the Mountain Hall from Mountain Pine
04:24 to see your hometown. Mountain Pine Arts. Population 720, yes, sir. Oh my God. couldn't believe there was nothing there. What do you mean? What do you mean? There's nothing there.
04:38 Well, we thought you were exaggerating about the town being so small. There was nothing there, but there was no Sonic. There was no grocery store. There was like no gas station. I'm like, there was nothing there. Oh, so that's what you mean by nothing there. There was nothing there. Yeah.
04:56 I mean, the town was there, but there was nothing there. And the town, like, I mean, that was kind of crazy. and another thing Mike Deonté works at Hobby Lobby and she is paper arts and paper crap I worked to Hobby Lobby while living in Mountain Pine the town where there's nothing there yes
05:11 well her boss had never heard the Bobby Bones Hobby Lobby song Did you play it for him? He's the manager Yes we did He loves it Why did you go to my hometown Paul? Just curious Well we just wanted to see where you were from maybe catch me in a lie because I
05:30 you go and it's full of malls skyscrapers yes no we just wanted to see where you were from we're new here we've been here six years we love it i mean we love we love we love Arkansas it's great you know what i mean so well we love you and i love it when you call you're funny you're a little shot of energy here i'd laugh yeah pa appreciate the call thank you so much and uh yeah in my town we don't have anything as you can tell by what paul says um we used to have a couple things we never had a traffic light, but we used to have a sawmill, and that's why everybody moved to that town, is because there's this massive plot of land that is now mostly empty where the sawmill was. This is where Arkansas Keith worked. The sawmill went down 15 years ago or so, maybe more than
06:15 that. So nobody moved there anymore. So it is a pretty impoverished town. The school is still there. If I were betting, I bet they have to consolidate. I hope they don't, which is why it makes such a difference for me to, because I went back and we gave them a bunch of money and hopefully can keep the school going. But we have a terrible program in Arkansas too where people have school choice. So you can go to whatever school you want. So nobody chooses to stay at Mountain Pine unless they live right there. Our sports teams, they struggle because anybody that's halfway good goes to a different school. So it really doesn't matter like what district you're in. You're just like, oh, I want to go here. It's a nightmare. Huh. We used to have to like give fake addresses.
06:53 Yeah, right. Yeah. But the only thing that we have to. But the only thing that we have, have really on the outskirt edges is a dollar general. That's it. Did you eventually get a light? There's no light. There's still no light? No traffic light. We don't need to one. So what is it, a stop sign? You have a four-way stop. There are stop signs. We don't need a traffic
07:13 light. There's not enough traffic. That's crazy. The only time there would be traffic was when the train was going through in the middle of the day. If they were hauling lumber on the train, you would know at like 11-20 you'd be held up for 15 minutes. as the train was heading in and out. Wow.
07:29 But it's still like that. Paul, I appreciate the call. Hope you have a great rest of the day. Thanks, you too, guys. Have a nice day. Call back when you got something else to say. I can't get enough of your energy here. Oh, for sure.
07:42 Right on. All right. I love that, dude. It's time for the good news. With Amy. Tell me something good. Shout out to an eighth grader in Kansas. His name is Carter Stevenson.
07:56 and he finished his cross-country race and then went back and ran with another runner that has cerebral palsy that was struggling and ran the rest of the way with him encouraging him. His name was Bryson King and he said that he got a PR
08:13 because Carter did this with him. And that would mean a personal record. Thank you. That's cool. Yeah, Amy's in the mix because her son runs. With all the lingo. So sometimes she just throws letters at us.
08:25 Yeah, yeah. because, yeah, he gets PRs sometimes, and it is pretty cool. And Carter's dad said that while most young athletes won't grow up to be professional sports stars, they can all grow up to be good people. And I love that quote so much. Yeah, lunch. Yeah, this reminds me of me when I was in high school because, like, for soccer, I think we had to run a six-minute mile or a six-and-a-half-minute mile,
08:47 and I'd finish my mile, and then I would have to run with the other people to pace them to make sure they can make the six and a half minute mile. You said had to. You were made. Well, no, no, no. I did that because I wanted them to make the team. I was like, man, you guys need help. You know what?
09:03 Tell me something good lunchbox. Wow. Let's not even argue it. This guy here, true hero. That's amazing, dude. Why are you taking the shine from this guy's story? No, no, it's similar to mine. It's literally what I did because without me, they probably wouldn't have made the soccer team.
09:17 Because they had to run that mile. And so I would be like, guys, you can't slow down. You've got to pick up the pace now. And I'd run with them. and if they could stay with me, they knew they were going to make the team. I do like that. Thank you. Team player.
09:28 Team player. Well, they're not even on the same team. Oh, so it's different. Yeah, they're just... So, would you refresh us to the kid's name, does it say? Yeah, lunchbox. No, Carter. Carter Stevenson.
09:41 Thank you. We want to make sure this is about Carter Stevenson. Carter Stevenson. That's awesome. That's what it's all about. That was Tell Me Something Good. It's a Bobby Bones show. Here's your question about 60% of people almost never do this with their smartphones.
09:58 Okay? Think about that for a second. About 60% of people almost never do this with their smartphones. Now, this game is called Never Gonna Get It. No, you're not going to get it. Oh, yeah. Never, never going to get it. Not this time.
10:11 No, you're not going to get it. Oh, yeah. Never, never, never, never going to get it. Ooh. Bob. Okay, and so we're going to go to Paul and Oklahoma. Paul, what's up, buddy? Hey, what's going on, Bobby?
10:21 What are you doing? Oh, driving down the road. You safe? I'm truck driver. Okay, you safe right now? Oh, yeah. Okay, all right. Oh, yeah, yeah.
10:29 They get my way. I just run them over. There we go. Interesting. All right, so Paul, here's the deal. I'm going to ask you a question. Now, you can answer it. You don't even have to get it right, but I just need an answer.
10:40 And if you miss it, you're going to get the show, gets a chance to answer it. You get three opportunities, okay? Yes, sir. All right. So, about 60% of people almost never do this with their phones, their smartphones. So think about that for a second. About 60% of people almost never do this with their smartphones. Some people never do it.
10:58 They almost never do this with their smartphones. So what is your answer, Paul? Oh, boy. I know. It could be anything in the world. And if you feel like it's nothing, you can just make something up and go to the show. Clean it? That's actually a good answer.
11:13 That's a good answer. It's not right, but that's a good answer. Hey, Abby, would you put your headphones on in the glass room? Do you know the answer to this? No, I don't. Okay, you should play. Okay. Okay.
11:24 So we got about 60% Americans say they almost never do this with their smartphones. Clean it was a really good guess, though. Really good. For someone who said, I have no idea. That's an idea. So now, Paul, you got Amy, Abby, Lunchbox, and Eddie. You get to pick two of them. If either one of those two get it right, you win the prize.
11:43 So Amy, Abby, Lunchbox, and Eddie, which two would you like to choose? Eddie and Lunchbox. Eddie and Lunchbox. He's going team weiner. Yeah. Paul, let me tell you this is the fastest
11:55 I've ever got an answer. Yeah, me too. Ever. I nailed it. Nailed it. Team testicle. That's what their jersey say. All right, guys.
12:03 60% of Americans almost never, some never do this with their smartphones. Do you have your answers? I have my answer. You will win for Paul. He's going to love the prize if you win.
12:12 Got it. Amy, what do you have? I have let it die all the way. I go all the way down. Are you supposed to? Yeah. That's interesting. Are you supposed to let it die?
12:21 all the way? That's what I've heard. Why would you let your phone die all the way? It's good for it. Oh, interesting. I've not heard that. No, no, no. No. It's not right here. Oh, dang. Okay. I need to look that up. There could be something to that. I don't know. Abby. I put back it up.
12:40 Like dance? Nice. Back. Good. You back the thing up. You have fun. Yeah. No, like back up the memory, you know. Like when you get a new one, they're like, did you back it up? Because you're going to lose everything. everything. Got it. I don't hate it. It's not right, though. All right, so you didn't want them to get it right. Paul, it doesn't even matter. Yeah, we're not team tested.
12:59 Looking good. Let's go to the test. Now we got it. Eddie. Oh, Paul, let me tell you. The answer is 100% turn it off. Americans don't turn off their phones. I almost never turn off my phone. Never. Almost never. Unless it dies all the way, which I do on purpose. Because I just learned. You would never let your phone die, I don't think. No, my phone sucks right now, and it drops to like 10%. Well, I wonder if you would let it die.
13:28 Did you upgrade it? I don't know. Just put that new system in there. It's rotary dial. Is that normal for cell phones? Okay, okay, Eddie, solid guess. Lunchbox? Yeah.
13:37 And maybe I'm old school. Maybe this is, I thought of it because I never do it and some people do. Watch TV on it. Huh. 60% of people don't watch TV on it. That's actually good. It's not a bad guess. Okay.
13:51 Sorry, I didn't mean to say actually. Like, I'm surprised. No, no, it's okay. No, you're surprised. I'm surprised. I'm always good at this game. But don't be surprised because he missed it. Okay.
13:59 It's not right. Oh, he missed it. Yeah. And then Eddie, yours was. Turn it off. Well, I got to say, come on. I'd be one of those that almost never turn off my phone.
14:09 Come on. Unless I'm for some reason reminded to, and you are wrong. Oh. Okay. Okay. But it's not over for Paul. I don't have another guess. Paul, where are you in Oklahoma right now?
14:21 Hi. Right now, I'm coming through Poto right now headed towards a broken bow. Which is near Tulsa, for you guys that aren't like me, they don't know Oklahoma like I do. Am I right, Paul? What's that? It's near Tulsa. A couple hours away, but yeah. Okay, close enough.
14:41 I'm thinking a broken arrow, actually. Yeah, I'm stupid. All right, guys, you're going to get one more guess here. I'm thinking. So, and then Paul will just go yes or no if he thinks you'll get it. Can you repeat the question? Yes, sir. About 60% of Americans, never or almost never, do this with their smartphones.
15:01 What is it? Hmm. I got two. 60% of Americans. I will, would you guys like a hint? Yes. Because I'd like for Paul to win. You don't want a hint?
15:13 Then close your ears. Yeah, close. Yeah, yeah, fine. Don't be sissies, guys. Don't take it. That's a good point. I don't want you guys to be sissies. I don't want you guys to be like that.
15:21 I want to be a sissy. Give me a hint. I have done this in the last month Huh What? Okay I got it right I got it right I didn't even need the hint
15:34 You I've done this in the last month Okay Have you got your answer? I think so Okay so Paul now this is This is the money round here You get to decide
15:45 Will anyone of the four get it You can go yes or you can go no What do you think Paul? I think one of them's going to get it Okay, Paul's going on with you. Yeah, Paul. I got it. I didn't need a hint. But you got it. Yeah, got it. Okay. You got the hint, though. But I had it down before I had the hint.
16:02 Okay. What do you got? Delete apps. Okay. Bobby's done that in the last month. He has? How do you know? I heard him say it. I've never said it, but you may not be wrong, but I've never said it. I don't know. I don't know. Eddie? Huh. Man, now that I have a guess. Did he say yes or no? Sorry, I
16:20 I get caught up in the game. He said, yeah. He said, yeah, we're going to get it. So he just won. Okay, hey, by the way, lunchbox, not right. I feel like I'm one of these 60%. Go ahead. Never change your picture on the screen.
16:36 Oh, solid. Oh, that's really good. Wallpaper. That's solid. And Bobby, you change yours a lot. I change mine a little bit. Yeah, well, it just depends because Billy the baby gets older. Yeah.
16:47 So I was finding a new one about every month. Yeah. Oh, man. All right. No. No, it's wrong? It's good, but it's wrong. Amy?
16:55 Update it. Your phone. Yeah, no. So you stay in the original one? Abby, it's all you right now. Can you win this for Paul? Well, let's see. Clean up messages.
17:06 Like, go through them and make sure all of them are red. That's pretty good, Abby. That's a good one, because Amy never does that. No. Amy's a cesspool of red dots. No. What the? Dang.
17:18 Okay, so two things are going to happen here. One, Paul does not win. Two, I think we get Paul back on later in the show and give him another chance to win. Okay. Paul, can we call you back in a little bit and have you play another game since you didn't win this one? Sure. Okay, because we like you. If we didn't, we just go, that Paul's a loser.
17:37 Is he going to be available? Is he just still be driving? Yeah, I'll be driving all day. Yeah, yeah, go. Can you give us a whole? Yeah. Yeah. Yeah.
17:47 Yeah. Yeah, that was good. Yeah. Yes, sir. Yes, sir. Okay, so the answer is delete photos. Oh, man. Right there. Shut up. Delete apps. I mean, you two, both wallpaper and apps were similar. And Abby's also was delete or take off red dots.
18:06 Everybody was kind of close. Amy, what did you say? Update. Yeah, except for Amy. Everybody did pretty good. Paul, we're going to call you back. Either today, I think, we can get another game on. Do we have another game? Paul later, Mike? Possibly? Anything over there? Any scraggler? He's looking in a stack of papers. Sometimes we just have random games laying around. We'll come up with something. Okay? All right. Paul, we'll call you back. You did not win. The lawyers say I can't give prizes to people who didn't win, but we'll give Paul another chance later. Okay, Paul, we'll call you back. See you, buddy.
18:40 Bobby Bone Show. Story of the day! This story comes us from Dalton, New Hampshire. Police got a call about 6 a.m. about a house on fire. They respond. Fire trucks putting out the fire. When the homeowner gets mad at the firefighter, jumps in the fire truck and drives off. Oh, wow. I would think that would be hard to drive off.
19:04 Yeah. I would just drive into stuff. It's so big. And it's that wheel where you have to, like, put your arms under it. Some of those have knobs on it. You know, like the big wheels? Oh, wow. You probably bite off more than you can chew.
19:15 So how far do they get? As he was fleeing, he crashed into another fire truck. And then about a block away, he went up a curb, crashed into a lady's fence. Well, that's what I would have done too. But I just would have never stolen the fire truck. Okay. I'm Lunchbox. That's your Bonehead story of the day.
19:32 This is the Bobby Boneshow. Hey, Bobby. So one of the new stations I grew up watching as a kid, probably still the biggest in Arkansas wrote an article about me. Bobby Jones. Oh, yeah, no, no, no, no. For real. Returns to Mountain Pine with books in a reading revolution.
19:49 donation. So this is from KATV Channel 7, where my all-time favorite weather man. I would watch Channel 7 all the time. Oh, what's his name? Ned Permi. Ned Permi, yeah. And their article, and I just watch 7 on your side, because they'd go in.
20:05 Investigate. Somebody be up to no good. Seven on your side would show up, and we'd bust that up to no good. And the article, my home state, that I try to make so proud, they write Bobby Jones returns to Mountain Pine. Sorry, man.
20:20 Does it say specifically, like, who? Okay, yep. Yeah, who wrote it? Yeah, I want to call them out, but that's hurtful. It's my own people. Yeah. It's not hurtful. It's only hurtful because it's my own people.
20:34 People call me Bobby Jones all the time. I've learned not to get offended by it because Bobby Bones is a stupid name. But when it's like my state that I feel like I've given so much back to, time, energy, money, love, and they hit me with the Bobby Jones? You think it's a spell check thing? That's what I thought. Maybe they typed Bobby Bones and when they went to go print. It just changes it. Like the computer's like, no way.
20:57 It's a proper name though. And also, again, if this happens in Minnesota, I get it. But Arkansas just hit different. Yeah, and we're also on the air in Lodor Rock, where this station is. We're one of the biggest shows. It's only because it's Arkansas. I've been called Bobby Jones in some pretty elevated spaces. I kind of laugh at this point because it's happened so many times.
21:18 My name is stupid. I get it. I mean, shoot, when you were getting inducted into the Radio Hall of Fame. Bobby Jones. It happened. Yeah. So, you know, just because it's local. Could it be they were just trying to be in on the joke?
21:30 No. Amy. Oh, that's not really a joke you make. Well, I understand it could be, you know, oh, well, that didn't hit the way we thought kind of thing, you know? That's not a joke. It's a charity donation that I go back to give to a school and I think they're going to do a joke. I was just trying to think through.
21:47 So this is in Arkansas Razorback Football. Do you want to see what they wrote on there to me? Sure. Oh, please don't. Check it out. To Bobby, number one hog fan. Thanks for long time. Loving.
22:01 Thanks for loving the hogs. You're amazing. Wu Pig. And it's signed by the head football coach. And then he put all in. Yeah, his name. I can't read his name. Yeah.
22:12 Actually, when I got this, it was just his name generically signed. It's weird because that looks. like your handwriting. It is. I'm so petty. All the other coaches have sent me a ball and they wrote my name on it to Bobby. This is a Bobby segment. And so I was like, they didn't even write my name on the ball. So I wrote my own note on there to me. Oh my gosh. That's hilarious. Okay. I thought it looked awfully familiar. Yeah, it's my lighting. I just thought, wow, you and coach have the same handwriting. No. They send balls out if you're like a donor of a certain level. I'm a pretty significant donor to the Arkansas Razorbacks.
22:47 And I guess I got the generic football and they put 100 on a table and just signed them. You know what? I'm going to be a baby about this one. And so since I got randomly generic ball, I wrote my own message on there. Amy, did you think the message was a little over like positive? No, it's not
23:02 the word. The words didn't bother me. I just genuinely thought y'all had similar handwriting and I was like, wow, that's interesting. Now read it again as I wrote it. To Bobby. number one hog fan thanks for loving the hogs
23:18 your amazing woo pig that is really funny that is a lot yeah whenever Pittman or Beeluma signed a ball and sent it to me I had it up in a box this one had to write my own name on
23:30 my own secret special message I should run myself to Bobby Jones oh you're having a rough couple days it's been a rough couple days I'm very sensitive to all this it's my own state do I got to pick a new state No.
23:43 Oh. You stay loyal. I try to be loyal. It's just a season. It's a season of what? Well, this two shall pass. I'm just saying. It feels like it's getting worse.
23:53 Yeah, you sound like a greeting card. Yeah, how do we make up with this? Like, how do we get the forgiveness? I don't know, but I'm keeping the Razorback Football signed by Silverfield that I had to write the message on on my desk. Now, did he write all in or you did? No, he did. That's their saying. Okay.
24:07 No, Amy, don't be silly. He wrote that. Come on, Amy. Anything for him, he wrote on there. Behind every night spent making the kids' lunches, there's a lot of suspense. Will they finally eat the veggies? Will the pasto survive the first bite? Will the lunchbox come home empty, half full, or come home at all?

You never seen Italy so quiet as when the Pope gets up to wink on Halloween. 28:06 Middle school is a different world than the one we grew up in. I'm Dr. Joy. and this is therapy for black girls. We spent real time on it in our surviving middle school run, bringing in a child psychologist and a psychiatrist who's raising two black girls of his own to talk about what's really going on with our kids right now. So it's literally physiological and neurological and psychological
28:27 and psychological chaos happening all this end up. We got into group chats and gaming, friendships and bullying, and how to tell the difference between healthy monitoring and the kind of surveillance that erodes trust. There's belonging. You could think of belonging. as I can be myself and I can still be accepted.
28:44 And then there's fitting in. Spitting in says I have to change who I am in order to avoid rejection. Then we turn the conversation toward the fathers, sitting down with therapist Keir Gaines on Black fatherhood and what it means to raise a daughter through this stage. You don't have on shorts, so you can't do flips. You have on the dressy. You have to cross your legs.
29:02 That's the range of this run, from screen time to identity to the father's doing the work at home. You have to get off her device. But the reality is there's a lot of. a life out there that we don't want you as your adults in their lives to miss out on. This has been our surviving middle school run. Brought to you by the people who spend their careers thinking about exactly this. I'm Dr. Joy.

Self-care September is here, which means it's time to rethink what self-care actually means. Yes, self-care can be a long walk. It can be in everything shower. It can be putting your phone on Do Not Disturb. But sometimes it's actually about sitting with the uncomfortable stuff and understanding your patterns, your boundaries,
29:47 finally figuring out while you keep doing things that you swore you would never do again. I'm Gemma Spegg, the host of the psychology of your 20s podcast, and each week we unpack the psychology behind the experiences that shape your 20s, from relationships and friendships to money, anxiety, confidence, attachment, just becoming more comfortable with who you are. Unlike the quarter life crisis, which is depicted as the collapse, the quarter life reinvention is the expansion and growth of something. When we develop the ability to be happy by ourselves, nobody else can take that from you.
30:19 So this self-care September, don't just take care of yourself. Get to know yourself as well. Listen to the psychology of your 20s on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. The new NFL season is here, and you should be listening to NFL Daily as we march along to Super Bowl 61. Last year, we had Mike McDonald, Sam Darnold on the field after the game. But that was last year. If you're a football sicko like me, NFL Daily is your kind of show.
30:48 It is in the name NFL Daily, fresh content in your feed every day all season long. Matthew Stafford coming off his MVP season. On a dazzling darts from Matthew Stafford. Big time trades that shake up the NFL. A.J. Brown is loose. And of course, those Seahawks. trying to run it back and win another Lombardi trophy. The Seahawks win Super Bowl 60.
31:16 They are bringing the Lombardi back to the northwest. If it's happening on a football field, NFL Daily will cover it. Listen to NFL Daily on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcast, or wherever you get your podcast. Trendiest baby names of 2026. You ready for it? Okay.
31:35 These are the trendiest baby names according to Nanette a baby monitor brand. We haven't had it. It's actually great. Top names are boys and girls. Number one, Jack. Old school, but still cool. I would credit that to Justin Bieber and Haley Bieber. They named their baby Jack. Oh, I didn't know that. I didn't know that either. Number two, Henry. Oh. What do you why Henry's trending? I don't know. I know a Henry. I know a Henry. I know a Henry. I know a kid. Oh, you do? Yeah. I know him. I know an uncle. I know a 22-year-old Henry. You do? It's my niece's
32:10 fiancee. Usually the trending names are based in something, trending especially, like from a year. Mike, do you see anything trending with Henry? No, nothing. Number three, Charlotte The Web? Is it back in? Possibly. North Carolina. Charlotte Web? Charlotte's Web?
32:26 The book? Charlie at 4. That's a cool name for a boy and a girl. I do enjoy Charlie. Leo at 5. Olivia at 6. Noah at 7. Luca at 8. Now, does Luca Donchik, the basketball player, have that much pool with young adults
32:43 that are having babies? That's a good question. My friend named her kid, Luca. After? Let me ask. Sometimes I wonder if they just forgot to put the yes. Lucas. Yeah, and they just spelled it wrong.
32:54 James and then Cooper make the list. That's from USA Today. It's kind of cool because it's going back to traditional names, then like making up these random names like they were a while back. I like our baby's name because I like unisex names. I've always like.
33:07 unisex names. I've been saying that for years. That's why you like Charlie so much. I like it. And then also, obviously, Billy is named after her grandpa. So if anybody ever judges, which I do not give a crap if people judge, I'm not going to parent shame. And people love to parent shame online, even if it's something very little. People are like, I can't believe you're doing that. I'm Mr. No parent shaming. I was that before, but now I'm really that. Now I get angry at parent shammers. But if someone's like, Oh, Billy. Oh, that's interesting.
33:37 Oh, it's after her grandpa. Oh, oh, yeah. Yeah, we get it. Yeah, we get it now. Shut up, shamers. I like Jack, though. I do, too. Jack's solid. Jack's solid. According to research, being single's okay now if you're a woman.
33:55 Okay. There you go, Amy. No stress. It says research. I don't know what that means. But I just brought this out because of Amy. It says, why do some women want to be? want to remain single nowadays.
34:07 Do you want to remain single? I'm jury still out on that. I don't, I have been enjoying it, but ultimately I think I'd like to spend my life with someone. They value their independence. Okay. Was that a new fun thing to you after you'd been married for so long that you finally could just do your own thing? Like, was that novel-y fun for a bit?
34:30 It was a little scary at first, but sure. It's like I can be super flexible now and breezy. I don't have to be on time everywhere. Still work, though. Your ex-husband. Oh, time was a huge thing. I like being respectful and on time. Like, I'm on time to work and I'm not unreasonably late.
34:49 But it would be like internally in our home. Like, hey, I thought we didn't have to leave at five because, but at some point during the day, we said we'd be ready and we'd leave at five. So therefore now you need to be ready to leave at five. And it would be 503 and an issue. So that part, it can be 503 and now I'm like, not ready yet.
35:10 All good here. It says their career can at times be more important than their personal life if they choose for it to be. They feel like once they get in a relationship, they are fast-track to being a stay-at-home mom if they're young. Remaining single is a choice. That's something called She Budgets. I never read that article, that publication,
35:28 She Budgets. But I just saw this and wondered how you'd react to it. Got it. And you react fine to it? I react fine. I mean, I was married, yeah, 17 years, so it's quite the adjustment. And also, I don't know that I want to be single forever. There are perks, though.
35:47 Are you lonely at all? Sometimes. Yep. Wouldn't you be? Sometimes I'm lonely surrounded by people. Dang, that's deep, dude. Whoa. Lonely in a crowded room.
36:00 Just only in my brain. Wow. Like I wonder, I don't know if other people can feel or see or I have no idea to prove that that's true, that I'm not the only thing that is actually real. It has thoughts. There's no way for me to prove otherwise. I can tell you. Yeah, we're real. But you would say that if you weren't.
36:19 And now I do believe you're all real. But that's what would have. There's no way for another person to get inside another person to prove that they have emotion, thoughts, feelings, purpose. There's no way. We just trust it because it's around us. Right. You can't trust us. And we're taught it.
36:33 I do think you're all. I do. It sounds like you don't. But also I do feel like that nobody understands me or relates to me at all in any way whatsoever most of the time. I have a wife that is supportive in me knowing I'm insane. Because even she knows there are times she can't figure out what's happening up here. So I do feel lonely in that sometimes that I feel like nobody quite gets me ever, nor will they ever. And that's okay.
36:58 But that's not a sad loneliness. I think loneliness is sad. I think loneliness can be growth, though, too. I don't think it's all sad. Really? Because, like, being alone and being happy is okay. I think there's a difference between solitude and isolation. Like, you can choose solitude to be alone.
37:17 There are times that you recharge and that's necessary. And then it can, if it creeps into isolation, then you lack community and connection. I think sometimes lacking community connection, though, allows you to appreciate other things in life that you would never have been able to appreciate beforehand so it can actually be a benefit. To a certain point. To all ones. Of that awareness, maybe.
37:41 Imagine you're a P.O.W. Okay, prisoner of war. Oh, wow. And you're isolated and it sucks and it's terrible. Imagine how much you appreciate not being a P.O. once you get out, once you're saved. Yeah. There's a whole, or you have a bad illness
37:54 and you feel isolated because nobody else feels it but you. And people around you, they support you, but they can't get in your body and feel what you're going through. But imagine you're able to, get past that and be healthy again. Now you have a different understanding of the world and you feel a completely different way and you probably, everything tastes so much sweeter
38:08 not just food, just life than it ever would have beforehand. So I would imagine that there is some sort of appreciation for the hard things that you go through that make life better. Sure. For sure. So that would be isolation paying off in a positive way.
38:23 Not solitude, but solitude. I enjoy solitude sometimes too. So do I. And then I think, but then there comes a point where, yeah, it can get lonely and you have to be careful with it. Man, the other day I went in my bathroom and I turned the light off and I was in there for like 15 minutes, complete darkness and I was like, this is nice. What?
38:40 Yeah. What is wrong with you? You know, and I thought, I thought, isn't it just getting away from the kids? Yeah. Maybe. But I thought like, you know, what's that solitary confinement? I'm like, man, that wouldn't be bad. Like for.
38:51 Until it not bad. But then you get released and you've had gratitude. Then once you get out, everything is better. You love light. Amy watched the pee on your money workshop because we're all going to pee on our credit cards for riches I forgot. I haven't done it yet.
39:09 I haven't forgot. I've not peed on my credit card yet because I wanted Amy to watch the workshop. But you saw a woman and she said if you peed on your credit card, you'd make money. Well, the whole thing is you're in a DOM role dominant. Okay. But during the workshop, they just referred to it as DOM. so you need to be dominant over your money.
39:32 And so, pee on it? P on it is one way to do that. Is this sexual? This is weird. It was weird. She was wearing a mask. Okay.
39:41 This is weird. I don't think I want to do it. I don't want to pee on my credit card anymore. Wait, no, you can do it in the bathtub or outside. What, Amy? In the bathtub? This is what I learned during the workshop. And what's supposed to, I don't want to get too graphic.
39:53 What's supposed to happen if I urinate on my credit card? Well, it gives. you mentally now you have power over money. You can, if peeing's not your thing, you could also whip your cash for the belt. Oh my gosh. That's fun. No, this is, guys, this is dirty. Yes, this is dirty. Um, you can rub cash all over your body. You've been a bad visa. That's it. That's what's what I'm. You can talk, Dom to the money by saying, you dirty, dirty dollar bill. Okay. No, no, no. This is what we were fearing it was. I'm out.
40:29 I would have done it as an experiment. Just do it. I'm out. No, we're not doing it. It says it can completely change your energetic relationship with money. Mm-hmm. And she set everyone up at the workshop to earn more, build savings, spend confidently on stuff you love and have more fun. And there were other, I was watching a pre-recorded, it's already recorded workshop, but all the women were in there live and they were all on the screen.
40:56 And I'm like. Were they in like bikinis and stuff? No, they were just in their room. Leather masks. No, only the teacher was wearing a mask. I'd wear a mask too if this is what I was trying to sell. Well, whatever. Yeah, guys, I'm going to go and tap out of this one.
41:10 I'm with you. Oh, one thing we did discuss when we were talking about is, can you clean it? And they brought that up during the workshop that, yes, you can spray Lysol on the credit card or the money after you urinate. She's a bathroom one. So you don't have to. I would scrub it with a sponge and. You know, I think I just stole in the trash. Order a new one.
41:30 Wait, so y'all. With the same number on it. Y'all are out. You're not doing it? No, because it feels like what you subscribe to if you're lonely. I know. I feel like it is a little weird. I was just curious if someone wanted to try it to see if it expanded their wealth.
41:46 Okay, I'll pee on my credit card. You are? You're probably going to be harder to tell. Are you going to talk to it too? We need lunchbox. You don't even. You don't know. You don't even.
41:53 You know? We need. Poor people. Oh, that's a good point, dude. You already have a lot of money. It's very hard to tell. No, that's not true. I mean, no, no, I mean, that's true.
42:04 But that's not true that I wouldn't know because if like an extra windfall came in. I'm just saying I would do it. If somebody else wants to do it, that's fine. Which box? I mean, I'll do it. He'll do it right now at that desk. Yeah, whatever. I have a list of the biggest movies of all time with inflation added in.
42:26 Oh. So the most successful movie of all time is gone with a wind. Oh, wow. Because if you were to use inflation and what it made back then, it would be the most successful movie of all time, like the money that is made worldwide gross. I'm going to give you number two. Avatar would be number two.
42:45 Oh. What can you name top 10? Three strikes you're out. Amy, you go. Titanic. Number three is Titanic. With inflation, it would have been worth 3.8 billion. million dollars. Go ahead.
43:00 Oh, poof. And Avatar's off the table. What about Avatar 2? Avatar 2? No. Good try, though. Lunchbox. Yeah, Lord of the Rings.
43:12 Lord of the Rings did not make it. Eddie. Star Wars. Star Wars at number four would have been, it originally came out in 1977. If in today's money, it would have made $3.7 billion. Dang. Now, you're still up. Okay. Give me Forrest Gump.
43:33 Forrest Gump did not make it. Now, to make this equal, we're going to go backward. Snake. So, Eddie, you go now again. I mean, let's go with, you know, Avengers or something. Let's go with Avengers, the first Avengers. Avengers, I'll give you Avengers. Avengers Endgame made $3.4 billion. This is with inflation. It would have been the number,
43:56 five overall movie. So you guys have nailed the top five of all time. Okay. Gone with the Win, Avatar, Titanic, Star Wars, and Avengers. Go ahead. Old school. Casablanca. I thought you picked old school. I was like, I was like, good movie, though. No. No, no, lunchbox? Harry Potter. Harry Potter, no. Amy. Lion King. No. Okay, that's two strikes.
44:21 My goodness. I'm terrible at this one. I mean, I think you're on to someone with Lion King, though. There are five left, Amy. Iron Man. No, there are no more marbles. Did you already say that? No. Oh. Go ahead.
44:36 Toy Story. It's a good guess. No. Eddie. Wasn't the Odyssey on there, like recently? So the Odyssey? No. No.
44:45 Number six is a movie that came out in 1965. Oh, Sultrain. Soul Train? That was a TV show. What in the world? Soul plane was way later. What was the one with John Travolta? Saturday Night Fever?
45:00 Saturday Night Fever? No, I think I just missed it. What year? Sixty what? Yes, 65 and I think it was a musical. Okay, singing in the rain? Oh, Mary Poppins. No, I'm not even sure what it was about, but maybe it was in Austria. Oh, Sound of Music. Yeah.
45:16 Dang, that's what I thought. Not singing in the rain. Sound of music was at number six. Number seven is an alien movie. Okay, E.T. Correct. Wow. From 19802. And you still haven't seen ET, right?
45:26 Mm-hmm. I know the stuff, though. Reiki Peecee. E.T. phone home. Okay. He never says Reegis. Oh, he doesn't say that? No.
45:36 Does he eat them? Yes. He eats them. He goes, Mishishis Peeces. Phone home for more Ritis Peeces. The Ten Commandments at 8. Oh, come on. I have never, that movie came out in 1956.
45:47 Never even heard of it. Number nine, I have never heard of. Dr. Zivago. Shavago. It's with a Z, though. Yeah, Dr. Chavago. It's old and it's long, like super long. If you watch the movie in its entirety now, it has two intermission breaks in the movie.
46:04 What that? Mm-hmm. So I would assume that at the, like, video store, it would come in, like, three tapes. Wow. Crazy? I've never heard of it. 1965. And the next one was 1975.
46:16 It was Steven Spielberg. Jaws. Yep. Dang. Those are really the top ten movies of all time. Wow. I don't know that I agree with some of them. Yeah, I don't need it.
46:26 But you can't agree with it. It's the numbers. But that is because back then there wasn't very many movies to choose from it. No, no, no, it's still the amount of money it made. But it doesn't matter. It's still the amount of money it made. I know. It just still don't know that.
46:37 But you can compare that to movies in 2002 versus today. But I guess so if like everyone's like, it's the new picture. Everyone's going to go see that one. Because it's the only one showing. Why are you guys both talking like? No, because of old school. The pictures. Because like what was Jaws up against?
46:53 Nothing. That's not true. I would just saying things right now. You have no factual evidence of. I wouldn't say Jaws, Amy, but I would say like Gone with a Win. I mean, really, what was it up against? I wasn't a theater. I don't know.
47:09 That was the only picture out there. Somebody should have to watch Dr. Chivago as a bet, except for you. I'll watch it again. The three movie Jaws came out, the drowning pool, a thriller starring Paul Newman, Race with the Devil, and the Starved. Sweeney. Those were the four movies released on June 20th, 1975. Yeah, but you don't compare it one week. You compare the two months before and the month after. Also, I wasn't alive then.
47:34 Whoever's going to have to watch Dr. Chavago is going to love it. It's actually really good. Spin that wheel. How long is Dr. Chavago? Three hours and 17 minutes. Oh, my God. Is it black and white? I don't know.
47:50 Is it in English? It's in color, but it's like faded color, dude. Barely, barely got to the color. Oh, no. Well, but still to this day, the number one movie is of all time? Avatar. No, it's the song of music. Gone with the wind.
48:06 Gone with the wind. All right, a few voicemails. Number one. Hey, Bobby. This is Liz. I am sitting here watching the U.S. Open Men's Final, and obviously Andy Roddick is in attendance. I know you guys are great friends. And I was just curious how your friendship with him came to be. That's all. Love the show. Bye. Yeah, not only was he in attendance. He was the last
48:33 American to win a grand slam and it was that grand slam. An American was trying to win it. He did not win it for a second. I think I was German, I think. Yeah, the guy of the ponytail. Yeah. And then who won it? Who's the American? Ben Shelton. Yeah. Andy lived in Austin. We all lived in Austin. Andy listened to the show and then I did a couple of charity events with and for him and then we found out that once we were off the air we were both pretty private and we both like sports now I've just had a bunch of friends
48:58 and we just became friends and I would travel with them to tennis tournaments and he was a grooms in my wedding so we stayed close friends for a long time and we still are but we're the kind of friends where you don't have to talk a whole lot and then if you need a kid and he just hit him up both of us are and so
49:13 he's also I don't want to say energize he just got out of doing anything for a while. I mean, he had hundreds of millions of dollars from playing tennis. He was top 10 for a decade. And then he invested his money super wisely and was like, I'm out. And then he just started randomly doing a podcast. And I remember I was playing golf with him a few years ago and he was hamster on this podcast where you just consulted, I'll give you 5% of it. And I said, I don't, I don't take any money of it. But if you need help, just let me know. I wish I was taking 5% of it because it's huge now. His podcast is huge. And now he is kind of the main tennis guy.
49:47 at least one of them. He's all over everything. Forbes just did a whole story on him. He decided to get back in tennis because that's all his life was and he wanted to get out for a while. And he did. I don't know that he ever had intention
49:59 to getting back in anyway. And then I think he missed it and he has no shortage of opinions and gives them and it's refreshing and he's someone who's done it. So it's really cool to see him like have this second life of really wild success. So yeah, that's how.
50:17 It was super organic, and it was slow because neither one of us trusted anybody. And then we were pretty inseparable when he was in America. Think about tennis, most time you're not in America. So he'd be gone for four months and come home for two weeks, and we'd go do something. And he'd leave again for a couple months and come back. He was like the first rich person I knew that I was close to. First time everyone out of private jet was his. Where'd y'all go?
50:43 I know where specific. We went to, but maybe this around. Grocery store? Maybe the Super Bowl in Miami. Oh, dang, that's legit. Maybe. Or maybe the Super Bowl, we went to a couple Super Bowl. And what about when y'all went to that golf thing?
50:56 Didn't you go in some, and then like John Legend was there? Oh, we all went to the Masters. Oh, the Masters. That golf thing. Yeah. That golf thing. No, I'm telling you. That little golf thing.
51:04 That's the green. Yeah. Yeah, he's my friend. And he's killing it. And if he needed a kidney or I needed a kidney, we'd be the first people to line up and give it. You know what? And if he needed a heart, I'd say I need that organ. The heart.
51:22 But yeah, he's doing really good. Hey, give me a voicemail seven. Hi, Mick from Kansas. I thought it was really interesting that Mr. Lunchbox was so into the interviews with the two little young ladies. He was into that all over because of who they were. Thanks. Yeah, any guest comes in, lunchbox does not care. It doesn't matter what kind of music they play.
51:44 If they're good. How long the interview is, nothing. We had two girls, women. He said young ladies, but young women that came in as fans of the show and said on the couch, he could not have been more dialed in. He was all in. Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, because they're not polished and they don't give, you know, polished answers.
52:02 They're going to tell you kind of more real things. I feel like some of these people we bring in an interview, they just give you polished hands. How would you know you don't even listen? Dude, I'm always listening. And I would say there's so little polish here. People don't come in here and give polished answers. I've got my ear to the grindstone.
52:16 I can hear when someone's giving me. It's nose to the grindstone. Ear to the ground. Oh. Yeah. Next one. Just really was interested in lunchbox's fascination with Sarah and Christy. He seemed very engaged, like a lot more engaged than usual.
52:35 So it seems like he was a big fan of them. Yeah, more people. A lot of callers were talking about how you were just, we were so active in that one. Dang, lunchbox? Why, dude? Well, yeah, because they wanted to meet me. to hear from me so I'm here to talk to him. I'm here to entertain. I think because they were pretty.
52:51 It wasn't about you. Amy, of course. Well, yeah, I mean, it's more fun when there's two chicks in here that are giggling and laughing and, you know. Giggling and laughing chicks. Yeah, that's what you, I mean, is that not more fun? He loves chicks that giggle. He's a chick giggling guy. Yeah. You guys don't? All right. Guys, hit us up anytime.
53:10 877-77 Bobby. There's a lot of suspense. Will they finally eat the veggies? Will the pesto survive the first bite? Will the lunchbox come home empty, half full, or come home at all? 56:07 It's called reading. So we don't like to use that word anymore. Okay. A panel of New York. Yorker cartoonists. Have you guys done Terry Gross's Peloton class? No! I've been dying too. I'm so sorry. I'm seeing a reading of Sadako and the Thousand Paper Cranes by Audra McDonald's at the Wonderland Bookstore on 14th. That's crazy. I went to the Wonderland Bookstore yesterday and I heard Nora Jones do a reading of Zero Dark 30. No way. You have to come to the last bookstore though.
56:34 Kim Cottrell is reading the guitar tabs of yesterday. A panel of Eurovision participants. And we do a little Halloween sometimes. Does the Pope dress up? He winks on Halloween. He gets right up next to the microphone. I hear you can almost hear the eyelashes hit each other. You never seen Italy so quiet as when the Pope gets up to wink on Halloween. 57:04 By age 11 or so, at least 70% have a phone. Middle school is a different world than the one we grew up in. I'm Dr. Joy, and this is therapy for black girls. We spend real time on it in our surviving middle school run, bringing in a child psychologist and a psychiatrist who's raising two black girls of his own to talk about what's really going on with our kids right now. So it's literally physiological and neurological and psychological
57:28 and psychological chaos happening all this end up. We got into group chats and gaming, friendships and bullying, and how to tell the difference between healthy monitoring and the kind of surveillance that erodes trust. There's belonging. You can think of belonging as I can be myself and I can still be accepted. And then there's fitting in.
57:47 Spitting in says I have to change who I am in order to avoid rejection. Then we turn the conversation toward the fathers, sitting down with therapist Keer Gaines on Black fatherhood and what it means to raise a daughter through this stage. You don't have more shorts so you can't do flips. You have on the dress. You have to cross your legs. That's the range of this run.
58:05 From screen time to identity to the fathers doing the work at home. You have to get off her device. But the reality is there's a lot of lives out there that we don't want you as your adults in their lives to miss out on. This has been our surviving middle school run. Brought to you by the people who spend their careers thinking about exactly this. I'm Dr. Joy. Listen to Therapy for Black Girls on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcast. Self-care September is here, which means it's time to rethink what self-care actually means.
58:36 Yes, self-care can be a long walk. It can be in everything shower, it can be putting your phone on Do Not Disturb, but sometimes it's actually about sitting with the uncomfortable stuff and understanding your patterns, your boundaries, finally figuring out while you keep doing things that you swore you would never do again. I'm Gemma Spag, the host of the Psychology of Your 20s podcast, and each week we unpack the psychology behind the experiences that shape your 20s, from relationships and friendships to money, anxiety, confidence, attachment, just becoming more comfortable with who you are. Unlike the quarter life crisis, which is depicted as the collapse, the quarter life reinvention is the expansion and growth of something.
59:15 When we develop the ability to be happy by ourselves, nobody else can take that from you. So this self-care September, don't just take care of yourself. Get to know yourself as well. Listen to the psychology of your 20s on the IHartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. I'm Brett Coleman. Have you ever watched a game and wondered what really made the difference beyond? on the final score. That's exactly why we created NFL pro.

59:59 what actually happened on the field. Fires it out in the flat to Barclay, who beats one man, spins past another, Leaps over a third. And don't worry, this isn't just a show for stats experts. We use advanced analytics to help tell the story behind the game, turning the numbers into insights that every fan can understand and enjoy. So whether you're a casual fan learning more about football
01:00:23 or a hardcore fan who can't get enough analysis, our goal is to help you see the game in a whole new way. If you've ever wanted to know why a playwork, how a matchup was won, or what most fans missed on Sunday, NFL Pro delivers insights you simply can't get anywhere else. Listen to NFL Pro on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcast.
01:00:50 It's time for the good news. With Bobby. Tell me something good. Since having a baby, and I've talked about this a bunch, the thing that I have learned is that diapers are constant and diapers are very expensive, and I can understand how it would be really hard to afford diapers. because they're so constant and expensive
01:01:11 because of how constant they have to be. And so this girl's 12 years old and she spent all summer collecting, she got 30,000 diapers for families in need. She packed a U-Haul with it and drove it over to this nonprofit that helps families get diapers and formula, et cetera. But she spent all summer and raised 30,000 diapers.
01:01:31 And that's cool. Love that. I don't think she could drive the U-Haul, but she packed the U-Haul. Somebody else drove it. Yeah, her first drive that she did a couple years ago brought in about 7,000 diapers. And every year she spent all summer giving back and gathering and donating. So it just says Sloan.
01:01:52 I don't have a last name. It's probably good because she's 12. Yeah, yeah, yeah. But Sloan in Arizona, a shout out to you. That's from ABC 15. That's what it's all about. That was Tell Me Something Good. Lunchbox and his wife are fighting about what?
01:02:06 My wife wants to hire the most ridiculous thing I've ever heard of in my life. Why? It's a spiritual analyst or something like that. It reads your house. Oh, like the energy of your house? Yeah, yeah. Like the aura? Yeah, I don't know the exact title they're called, but what do they do?
01:02:27 What did she say they were going to do if they came to your house? They're going to, we've made changes, like painted a room, put wallpaper, and we've had people that she thinks the former owners are upset. Did they die? No. Wait, then who cares? Or do they just live down the street? This is, this sounds crazy.
01:02:48 They live in Milwaukee? Like which former owners, though? She says all the former owners. Oh, so even people that are dead. Yeah. Hey, you think your wife's losing it? 100%. Where did she learn about this?
01:03:00 I don't know. What does this cost? It's like $200. And they come for how long and do what? I think it's 90 minutes. They just sit in there? They read your house. Okay, what?
01:03:11 This is her. This is what she explains it. I can't, I may not be explaining it right. Okay. This is her. Okay, so. I asked her, who do you want to hire? Here's lunchbox's wife.
01:03:22 Go ahead. You want to hire what? She called herself an intuitive therapist, and I heard of this woman, and she will, like, come to your house and see if there's any spirits that are here. And with our house being old, you know, it's like over 100 years old. There's been so many people that have lived here. And I just have been wondering, like, well, maybe I'm making all these changes and they're not happy with the changes. Or maybe they really like the changes.
01:03:54 I don't want to make out of this. Like, making out of off tonight. I can't. What? Okay. But I would think lunchbox would be into this being that he was trapped by a gun. ghost in a house at one point. But him paying $200.
01:04:07 That's the problem. Supersedes the fact that he was trapped by a ghost in a closet. I mean, the fact that my wife believes that you can upset former owners of your house by painting a wall is bananas. Lunchbox has anything weird happened
01:04:23 like in the last year? Yeah, my wife started talking about hiring an intuitive therapist. That's the weird thing? That's the weird thing. But what triggered this in her to even have these feelings? Oh, she, one of our friends bought a house and they had an intuitive therapist read their house and she's like
01:04:38 oh my gosh what if I'm making because they wanted to do something like knock out a wall or something and they hired this lady and so now my wife's like well we started making changes what if I'm making them mad like what if they're trying to tell us that we shouldn't do this who gets final say here this is so stupid but are you going to let her no is she going to do it I think she's going to do it so who's pain for it you or her she's I mean it's her thing
01:05:02 and you have different accounts And I am not contributing to some stupid woman coming to my house and be like, oh, let me see. Oh, yeah. What if she comes and things get better? Oh, the wallpaper. Yeah, they don't like that color. What if she comes and you have to pay money for home renovation because she said. Oh, my God.
01:05:23 See, I didn't even think about that. Dang, that could be. Because she's not going to come and say nothing. It's like hiring a consultant for something for anything. They have to find things that are wrong. Even if there's really nothing wrong. They can't come in and do nothing because why, hire them. Also, you know what she's going to say? Oh, man, we got to do some more deep cleaning
01:05:38 because the spirits are still here. She's going to want to come back for a follow-up visit. That's what she's going to, it's a scam. More money. What's the dumbest thing you've, well, no, what's the dumbest thing that people have made fun of you for spending money on? I can go. I hired a pickleball coach for a while and I was made fun enough for that. But I was playing a lot of competitive pickleball. And he was coming to my house, we were training hard. And I was I was ridiculed for paying for a pickleball coach. So you? Pet psychic?
01:06:05 The pet psychic, yeah. That's pretty bad. That's pretty. I can't prove. I know, me neither. I can't prove it didn't work. I don't believe that it did, but I can't prove it didn't. So there's that.
01:06:15 Eddie? No, man, I knock everything down. If my wife brings up anything stupid, I say we're not getting it. So nothing. So you've never spent money on something like we've judged you for it. I mean, you guys judge me on gambling, but I mean, that's everyone gambles. No, mostly I think it's that you gamble, but then complain about money for other reasons. Yes, dude, because we spend so much money on.
01:06:38 But then you gain. It doesn't matter. Lunchbox? Yeah, the lottery. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. You guys harass me. We don't harass you, but you do spend a lot, lot, lot, lot on lottery. When does this happening?
01:06:50 I mean, she's going to make an appointment, I guess. I don't know how long it takes. I mean, I got to look at that lady's calendar. I wonder how book she is. She's probably booked for months, so you never know. It's probably available at any day. of the week. Is there anything that this person can say that makes you believe in it? No.
01:07:05 Nothing. Nothing. There's not something that she could pull out of nowhere that she'd have no access to knowing, but then when she knows, you'd be like, oh, dang. But how would I even know if it's real? Like, she can say whatever she wants, because I don't know who's lived in that house. What if it's only something you've seen? Well, I haven't seen anything. I haven't seen anything.
01:07:23 What have I seen? Is this going to happen in the next month, do you think? Yeah. Can you please let us know right after it happens? And then what's, what's been old of you. I am going to laugh so hard if she recommends you have like a $50,000 home renovation because it's Satan taking over like a back patio or something and you have to get rid of it.
01:07:40 Oh my gosh. Right. The Bobby Bones show. Now time for the morning corny. The morning corny. Where do football players go when they need a new uniform? Where do football players go when they need a new uniform? New Jersey. New Jersey. Got it. Good one.
01:07:59 Let me. That was the morning corning. Shit. I do this out of love. Peace in love, peace and love. Eddie doesn't read. You don't have to read, but Eddie always complains that he wishes. He was the guy that could carry a book around and look cool.
01:08:16 I love that. And then he goes, I can't read. I'm dyslexic. Yeah. And so what we do is we give them 15 minutes every day during the show to go in my office and read. Yeah. And you've been reading the four agreements. It's a book that I read.
01:08:30 Around once a year. I love it. It's short. It's short. It's crazy. It is short. Yeah. And you're about, what do you got? Halfway through? I'm almost halfway through. Wow. Seriously. What is your review of just the experience so far? Okay, not the book, but the experience of reading is the first time you asked me like to go into your office and go read for 15 minutes. I was like, this is so stupid. Why? What am I going to do in there? Read. I'm going to get distracted, blah, blah, blah. Now you tell me, dude, it's your 15 minutes. And I'm like, cool. All right, let me go read. It's actually enjoyable. A lot of it matters on what you're reading too because sometimes I get a real turd. I'm not convinced on this one yet. Like, I'm just kind of taking it in for what it is, but I'm enjoying reading it.
01:09:16 Yeah, I think you can pull some stuff from it regardless of what you're looking for within it. I agree with that. Yeah, and it's short. So I'm going to give you 15 minutes now. Right now? Yeah, head to my office. You bet. Eddie's going to go read.
01:09:28 You bet. No, they say bet. Oh, okay, yeah, yeah. Just bet. Eddie is going to go and read for 15 minutes, and we're just trying to encourage others. Take 15 minutes out of your day. Wow. What if this is like a global movement?
01:09:39 Well, I think it has been for, I don't know, 50 years. Oh, really? Yeah, yeah, yeah. 15 minutes. Yeah. Okay, okay. Just that. All right, we have Paul on the phone again.
01:09:50 He's driving a truck. We played a game earlier in the show. He didn't win. We want to give him a chance to play another game to see if he wins. Paul, you ready again? Yes, sir. All right. How did you feel like?
01:10:00 after that loss the first time. You okay? Oh, yeah. I can't believe them guys let us down, though, man. Those guys let you down. I know. They let you down. No, all of you did. Okay, so Paul, I'm going to let you play this one as you're driving your truck. This is a movie game. Do you watch many movies? I don't really have time to watch movies. No. Fair enough. Fair enough. What's your favorite movie of all time, Paul? Well, boy, I don't tell you at all time, gum smoke. Gun smoke.
01:10:26 I know the TV show. Yeah, was that a movie? They made a movie Gunsmoke. Oh, yeah. Marshall good Yeah. Oh, okay. Arkansas Keith Watch,
01:10:32 you got smoke all the time. That was a TV show. Okay, so here's what we're going to do, Paul. I'm going to give you five clues. You just have to name the movie, okay? You got to get three out of five. For example, if I said a shark, a boat, an Amity Island, what movie would that be?
01:10:51 Oh, boy. Would it be Jaws? It would be Jaws. Wow. Good, good, good, good. Okay. He gets to use one lifeline to any of you guys in the studio. Love it.
01:10:59 He needs three out of five. Here we go, Paul. Driving his truck in Oklahoma right now. Paul, here are your three clues. A sinking ship, an iceberg, and two people named Jack and Rose. Botanic. Correct.
01:11:12 One answer for Paul. Here go, Paul. Good job, good job. Good job. Good job. Good job. Number two. The city of Philadelphia.
01:11:21 A meat locker. Boxing gloves. Rocky. That's correct. Yeah. Very good. The next one. A tarantula.
01:11:32 Cheese pizza. Someone named Kevin. Oh, boy, I'll have to use a lifeline on that one. Oh, boy. Who would you like to go to? Amy, lunchbox? Oh, boy. Or Eddie.
01:11:41 Well, lunchbox seems good, I know a lot about movies. So let's go for lunchbox. Lunchbox? Yeah, it's home alone. The answer is home alone. Yes, yes, it is. I'm not going to let my dude down. Yeah, he's three for three.
01:11:52 That's what we do. He's already going to win. Let's just do a couple now for fun. Dinosaurs, an island, and a mosquito Trapped in Amber Would it be a drastic park? Yes, it would be Jurassic Park? Okay.
01:12:05 He's on fire. And finally, a high school, 88 miles per hour and a DeLorean. Oh boy. Back to the future. Correct, there we go.
01:12:19 Man, he didn't even need a lifeline I got. He got four out of five. He's good. Okay. So, Paul, here's what we're going to give you. So it doesn't matter what you need around the house. A mechanic, a handyman, a cleaner. You need a pet sitter. We have a $500 gift card for you to use with Air Tasker to get anything done, mounting a TV, yard work, moving help. If you're not there, somebody at the house is there.
01:12:40 They need help. Taskers are ready to help. So set your budget, book with confidence. Download the Airtasker app or Airtasker.com. But, Paul, we're going to give you a $500 gift card. And we're also going to send you some stuff from the show here from the studio. And we just wanted you to win, Paul. So congratulations.
01:12:57 Well, thank you. How much driving you got left to do today? Oh, about 15 more hours of it. Whoa. Oh, my goodness. Where are you going? Yeah, I started at 3 o'clock this morning, and I won't get back home until about 6, 37 o'clock tonight. Is Paul going to make it?
01:13:16 No. Do you ever eat those bumblebees at the gas station? You know those old pills that make... The yellow jackets. Yeah, whatever they are, they make you go. Yeah, you ever do that? No. No, no, no.
01:13:26 Good answer, good answer, good. answer. Okay, Paul, stay on the line. I'm going to get your prizes. I appreciate you listening. Well, thank you, Bobby. All right, there he is. Paul, everybody. All right, Paul, stay on the phone. There he is. Get your Bobby Bones on. Bobby Bones. All right, Amy, lead us off. Okay. So, you all familiar with the high rocks competition? Were they, shoo? Yeah. I wasn't, I want you to save the story. But isn't it like, it's like a crossfit
01:13:54 type thing? Yeah, it's like an indoor where you're doing these different like exercises and yeah to me when I read it cardio stuff felt like my best crossfit was what it seemed like yeah I saw a video this morning oh you watched it oh I didn't watch oh I didn't watch it well no I didn't watch her I've seen pictures of oh yeah I didn't it's blurred so no I saw it running down her leg so for people that aren't familiar there was a high rocks competition happening and she had a bathroom issue Diarrhea.
01:14:28 Yeah. And she continued to compete. See, that's why I wanted to eliminate diarrhea this morning, guys. When I said no more diarrhea, that's why I picked it for high rocks. And I thought it was over. Yeah, it's not. This is, I think she was having a different issue than just lettuce. And I saw a video this morning where a guy was just talking about, like, high rocks people,
01:14:50 they're really into something. That's their passion, right? And they've worked hard, they've trained to get there or whatever. But like, say any of us, if we were really into our hobby and we're, somewhere like it's you know we're at a lego competition and i think this is more than a hobby though we're building legoes and suddenly we have a bathroom issue and we don't stop and leave to go clean ourselves up someone would be like okay something's mentally not right with joe that's interesting you have that perspective because i thought something is so right with her no what because that's
01:15:19 what i would have done in that competition yeah i get it maybe keep going but but this video gave me a different perspective. I'd like to hear it. Because in, you know, use other examples. Like, whatever it is that you're doing, if you're indoors using the bathroom all over yourself and you don't stop to go clean yourself up, something's wrong. I can tell you right now it does. When it's contained, poopie in a diaper, smells up the whole contained area. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Well, and this certainly wasn't contained. And I... So explain what she did, though, specifically. She had her diarrhea in it. She's wearing shorts and it's running all down her body.
01:16:00 She was doing what exercise do you know? Oh, when it exploded? Yeah. I don't know. Do you remember the picture? I mean, she was standing like this with her hands in the air and then stuff was running. Like they do bride jumps. They do sled pushes at different levels.
01:16:15 Yeah, but there's all these other people and you're indoor and there's all this equipment. So now her germs, which fecal matter, can be. Well, it's not going in everybody's mouth. She's doing squats, like down the track with some big heavy bag on her back. Like sandbag lunges? They do 100 meter sandbag lunges. Yeah, that's what she's doing. Yeah, but her stuff is getting on things that certainly other people are now encountering.
01:16:39 So I feel like you're anti-pooping go. I am. I am. You know, over the years. You've seen people compete in marathons. Oh, poopies. Sorry, poopies. You've seen people compete in marathons and you feel for them because, like,
01:16:53 okay they've trained to get here and they don't want to mess up their time so they just use the bathroom on themselves at least that's outdoors I don't know there's something about this being inside and equipment and people being all around it and you're just like oh I'm so worried about my time no winning yeah hold oh well there you go it's worth it yeah because everyone was like everybody ran away from oh they're like she won with the worst time ever the worst winning time ever the worst winning time ever. She won $21,000. Okay, I mean, that's a lot of money. I get it. I didn't know that part. I just thought, like,
01:17:29 are we, what's going on? Like, where? She pooped mid event, though. Yeah, so you keep going. Or try again next year. No. What? Dude, that can't feel good. I would argue that nobody thinks it feels good. And smell?
01:17:45 And that it wasn't on purpose, and she probably didn't think she was going to go, but I'm sure she had stomach issues before and she had to make a decision. I feel for her on. that. I just don't know. Oh, it's all over our arms. Oh, no, it's disgusting. Arms. How did they get on arms? I'm not saying it's not disgusting. I'm telling you what I would have done. I would have pooped and kept going. I didn't know there was quite the prize on the line.
01:18:04 I mean, that's a lot of money. Also, she trained for months. I understand that. And also, it's cool. You pooped and won. And you're so dedicated that you pooped all. It was worth it to you? Yeah. That you're the person. And people are like, I bet she's so embarrassed. That's unfortunate. However, Your story is at all costs. I train so hard and at all costs I was there to win. And the cost was I pooped all over myself and pictures are on the internet. She did it. See, this is why I couldn't be on a jury because whoever speaks.
01:18:36 Why are you in jail? She pooped. No, I'm not talking about that. I'm talking about how easily swayed I am. No, no, no, no. Like the video I saw this morning, I was like, yeah, mentally something's unwell with her. Like, who keeps going? That's crazy.
01:18:48 And then now y'all are building a case. I'm like, oh yeah, it's a valid point. Like, I totally see it now. Oh, I'm mentally unwell, though. So I think you're, I think you still are valid in your arguments. But now what's cool, too, is that we would have never heard of her winning this thing if it wasn't for that. I wouldn't have known what the thing was. Exactly.
01:19:05 Oh, so she did something for the sport. Yes. She's a giver to hide. What is her name, Amy? Because that needs to be like, no. She's the champ. Her name is Poops McGee. I know.
01:19:15 Joanna. Joanna. Joanna, we're, word, six. Yeah. Okay. Joanna. Congratulations, Joanna. Lunchbox, were you about to say she's hot? Yeah.
01:19:24 I knew he was. He's been over there. Is she hotter with poop on her? Oh, no, no, no, no. Oh, okay. But she looks pretty good. I mean. Well, she's fit, but she's fit.
01:19:34 I was on different pictures. Half of her is blurred out. I can go unblurred. I think there is a decision you have to make before I'm committing to this or I'm not. And maybe you don't. If like you're so sick, but if you think you can do it, you probably go. And then once it happens, life has. happened, I got to keep going.
01:19:52 Like the New York Post has a whole article about how the internet's completely divided by this and some people are like she shouldn't even have had to remove herself. Some people think she should have just been disqualified. I think someone's going to touch her? No one's going to touch her. No one's going to
01:20:08 remove her out. Pick her up. Get her out of the track. But she could have decided, oh, you know what? I'm not well. I'm going to go clean myself up. I'm done. But also or she competes and continues like she did, or the whoever's running this says, well, you're disqualified. No poop on the. I mean, they shut down the pool for like hours when someone poops.
01:20:31 That's true. But no one's competing. Other people have to get in that same water if someone poops. Yeah, but they're also running on that same track. But the water's different than track. I agree. Oh, she posted something that said, go harder, go home. A win is a win.
01:20:44 In all seriousness, thank you for all the support. I'll be back soon. Yeah, it looks like she's got an IV in her arm in a hospital. bed. That is a champion right there. You're right. In these articles, it has it blurred out. But everything I've seen on Instagram, I saw it.
01:21:00 Yeah, if you Google Imager, it's clear. You know, my son, we just playing baseball, he was pitcher, and he didn't want to go to the restaurant suit, Pete on himself. On the mound. Does he want you to tell that story? I don't know. Don't hate it. Our high school football coach would encourage your offensive line in a pee in their pants.
01:21:16 Wait, what? Because it was, it's time to get gritty and dirty. you're going to be muddy, you're going to be dirty. Well, y'all might as well wear a diaper then. No, that's the point of it. Don't wear a diaper. Be, smell like pee, because you have defensive linemen, you're up against and you want to smell bad, just pee in your pants.
01:21:32 Oh, so they won't want to tackle you? Boom, they want to touch you. It's just like you're playing a gritty, dirty position. Be gritty and dirty. I have never heard this in my life. You're telling me, football players. I'm not saying all. I'm saying that way. And he played it
01:21:49 a high level. So I'm sure he didn't invent that. But yeah, he was like, if you got to pee in your pants, you want to smell bad because you are bad.
