The next episode of the commercial break starts now.
Oh, yeah, cats and kittens.
Welcome back to the commercial break.
I'm Chrissy Haudley, and this is my good friend and co-hosts of the show, Brian Greene.
Best to you, Brian.
Best to you, Chrissy.
I don't know what happened there.
What happened?
I don't know.
My mic just went totally dead.
All right.
Hey, welcome back to the show.
I'm Brian Green.
This is my dear friend and the co-host of the show, Chris Joy, Holdy.
Best to you, Chris.
Best to you out there in the podcast and streaming audience.
a good job actually. If I remember or not here, you just go ahead and just do the show.
Yeah, actually, while I'm in New York, if you could do a couple episodes for us,
keep the seat warm, I would appreciate it. Hey, thanks. Thanks for joining us. Welcome back.
Super excited. Show number two. It's due for Tuesday on a Wednesday. Check that out.
Hambone and oddley in the morning. I'm Hambone. This is Haudley.
Handbone and Nodley. We must do another handbone in Hohley. We do have to do.
Someone like a month ago message us said, I just listened to your handbone and Haudley episode.
Again, it's my third time.
I think it's probably your funniest thing.
You guys need to do it again.
We do.
We need to get back to a little bit of visionary creativity.
Yes, absolutely.
Speaking of visionary creatives, Chrissy, I wanted to.
Where is this leading?
Oh, you know where it's leading.
Speaking of visionary creatives.
I just came upon an Instagram that I just think this guy is doing it right.
Hold on one second.
Let me see if, but I got to pull it up first.
Okay, I got it attached here.
Let me see.
If you're ever in Connecticut, are you ever in Connecticut?
I never am.
You're never in Connecticut?
No.
No, I'm not either.
However.
Connecticut, it's a beautiful Monday night.
Where are you headed this week?
The beach, a wedding, early flight, late arrival.
Call on today to schedule your ride.
Oh, okay. We can call Colin if we need a ride, Chrissy.
Yes.
Listen, Colin.
He's skipping the whole Uber fees.
Yes, let's not be.
Straight to the people.
Yeah, let's not be fussy about it.
Colin is the guy.
And this is not the only post that he has on Instagram.
That alone would probably be enough to drive people to drive, to get him to drive them.
But this guy is on an epic campaign.
And I mean, an epic campaign, to make sure you call Colin when in Connecticut.
Okay.
Connecticut, happy Sunday.
It's a beautiful day.
Where are you headed this week?
Call on to schedule your ride.
Where is he?
He's in Connecticut.
Connecticut.
It's a good day to get up and get going.
Where are you headed this weekend?
A beach, a wedding, an event?
Call on Colin today to schedule your ride.
Hey, Colin, I don't think that's how it works, bud.
I don't think you go to Instagram to look for your ride.
Do you know what I'm saying?
No.
I'm just saying I think you might be missing something here.
there are applications that will help connect you with people who actually do need a ride.
But I'm just wondering, let's look at the comment section and see if anybody needs a ride.
Next weekend, probably out of your range.
Help me boost my comment section.
When would there be merch?
I just, but Colin seems happy.
Connecticut, happy Friday.
Where are you headed at the beach, an event, a wedding?
Call Colin today to schedule your ride.
Calling today is scheduled a ride.
Currently not available, but pretty soon.
Four or six hours, I'll be available.
Maybe you should start flying to Connecticut.
I should.
And then having him drive you.
I just love when people commit to the bit.
Do you know what I'm saying?
Yeah.
When they commit to the bit, post after post after post, multiple posts a day,
nobody watching, but you commit to the bit.
You say, if I'm going to start one Instagram reel with,
Then I'm going to start all of my Instagram reels with Connecticut.
Where are you headed?
Chris.
Keep showing up.
Keep posting.
Keep going.
Is he telling himself that?
Yeah.
Connecticut.
The internet could be a rude place.
Oh, he's talking to me.
Connecticut.
Connecticut.
I hope everyone stayed safe through the storms last night.
Back at it today.
Have a great Thursday.
I hope everyone's staying safe in the storms last night.
I hope everyone stayed safe, past tense, in the storms last night.
Dude, listen, Colin, I'm not a hater.
I love it.
I think it's great.
I think it's great that you're doing marketing for your business.
I will just share that there probably is a better way to get customers to come to connect
you with a ride, and I know they're going to take a big chunk of your change,
but there is Uber, there is Lyft.
You could be a taxi driver.
You might want to put something in the newspaper or at the,
the, you know, yellowpages.com, because here's the truth. I don't think anybody goes to
Instagram going, you know what? I need to ride to the airport. Or to the beach. Or to the
beach. Or to the wedding. I need to get to the beach. And you know what? And then it just pops up
like that. It doesn't work. It's an opportunistic thing, Colin. This is a, this is a clear case
of a creative person thinking the right way, but doing the wrong thing. Did that, that sounded
almost motivational speech? Is that on a poster? It should.
me, you're doing the right thing in the absolute disastrous way.
Maybe not not right platform.
Right.
You're thinking about the wrong things and taking disastrous actions.
But keep going.
Yeah, for our entertainment.
You've fucked up royally and there's no recovery.
But keep posting.
Connecticut, keep posting.
Connecticut. I just love that he's committed to the Connecticut bit. You should also expand your circles. You should do New York or, you know, New Hampshire, something like that. Like, I think if you just said, hey, you need a ride, call Colin, then you get much more a better response. Connecticut's a small state. It is. It's one of the smallest in the union. Let's be honest about it. And I understand sometimes that fuel efficiency probably determines whether or not you actually make a profit on a ride. But Colin, you need those big gets.
You need like a famous person to call you up and say, I need a ride to LaGuardia from New Haven, Connecticut.
Can you do it, Colin?
And then you say, are you in Connecticut?
I'm calling.
I got your ride.
Yeah.
And if you do that, then you're likely to get like a big, like a big payday for that kind of stuff.
So I want you to keep doing what you're doing just in a completely different way, in a completely different place.
Okay, Colin?
All right.
I'm not here to tell you what to do.
but I'm saying your current strategy may or may not be working.
Now, that said, this is coming from a failed comedy podcaster, so don't take too much of it to heart.
Right.
Grain assault.
Great assault.
That's right.
While I'm spending oobs and goobs of money on Jonas Brothers tickets, what I really should be spending money on is David Lee Roth tickets, because I will tell you what.
That absolutely sounds like a disaster.
of a concert. All these people going to...
Oh, sorry.
Connecticut. Now I'm going to be listening to it all day long.
Now it'll never get out of my Instagram feed.
Yeah. Or my Instagram feed.
David Lee Roth is just on a tear.
He is doing a live show where he's basically singing all of the old hits with a backup band.
Okay.
And if we thought that Vince Neal, you know, our most watch YouTube video ever is,
the Vince Neal.
Wow!
Well, did you see that I sent you?
You know, I had a friend who went to the show.
It recently was here last week.
I sent you the video that she had sent out, and I was like, oh, no.
It was, first of all, it's a thousand degrees here in Atlanta.
Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah.
It's crazy.
He was in full black, like long sleeves, pants, the whole thing.
He wasn't doing his old running around anymore.
He was just walking around.
And then he had the strippers and the people.
all around you got to give it that aesthetic yeah yeah you go back to the mountly crew's
yeah he yeah he i mean he really if you're paying to see motley crew at this point you're
a fucking moron i mean honestly what it's a they're all going to get to i understand there's some
acts that are still doing it and still doing it well bruce springsteen still out there still doing
four hour shows still killing it but you know whatever some people say bob dillon is better than
he was a decade ago okay all right i'll give you that i don't i haven't
seen Bob Dylan live recently, so I don't know. Even I can say, even I can admit this about some of
my favorite bands. Eddie Vedder ain't hitting the high notes anymore. And he's a long way from that,
because that's just so straining on your voice. But some of these people are just out, they're
just like propping them up and putting them out there. And unfortunately, David Lee Roth, my personal
favorite Van Halen singer ever. Of course, if you're a real Van Halen fan, you don't, Sammy Hagar is not
the guy. Sammy Hagar is a guy. He did a job. But he, he's a job. But he's,
He wasn't the best.
David Lee Roth was.
Yes.
Of course he was.
Jump.
The song Jump alone is just epic.
And just put it up, put it to bed.
Hot for Teacher, all that stuff.
Listen to, you want to listen to David Lee Roth?
Sure.
Okay.
Listen to this.
What is hot for teacher?
Okay, okay.
Okay, all right.
Ready? Here's another one.
Yeah, he's like, he doesn't,
I'm a little bear.
She's a bearer of her.
Did we see something on an Instagram
a while back with somebody
that was like filming him going, oh my God.
Yeah, he's like, he doesn't, I mean, listen,
for 82 years old, the guy looks great, right?
He's still out there?
Is he 82?
I think so.
He looks 82.
He looks 82.
Frankie Valley, too.
I know.
Oh, Frankie Valley's another one.
Oh, my God, that guy.
I read something recently where they said they were like, he will not give it up.
He won't.
People are asking him, but he will not do it.
Well, okay, ready?
Frankie Valley, 92 years old.
Listen to how this guy sounds and tell me that this is anything but a click track or AI singing for him.
Good to be true.
Yeah, God, look at him.
Oh, my.
I mean, I guess he's just doing what he loves.
His lips don't even move when he's singing.
Maybe I'm going to get my eye.
It's got to be too good.
Can't take my eyes off of you because I can't move my head left or right anymore.
I'm a 92 years old.
Dan-da-da-da-ha.
Having a stroke right now, dan-in,
another T-A-A-A-A right now.
Dan-in-D-D-N-N.
My left, I went blind.
Dead, and my knee fell off.
I'm almost dead now.
But if you roll me out, I'll take the back out.
I'll take your money now.
I mean, the guy is dead.
He's dead, and they're rolling him out there.
Congratulations, Frankie, another sold-out show.
He didn't know the difference.
He's like, ah.
I mean, honestly, some of these guys just need to pack it up. It's okay.
Michael Jordan can't play professional basketball anymore. Tiger Woods is never going to win another master's.
Everybody gets old. Everybody does. Everybody gets old and should pack it up. Some people are saying that about the commercial break. And you know what? I'm taking that into consideration. I had hoped to do this to 92 years old. But now I'm starting to see that that might not happen. We might have to round the corner and, you know, at 3,000 episodes, pack it up.
The truth is is that we keep paying these people to do this.
And I know that we all want to go down memory lane a little bit.
In nostalgia, we pay for the nostalgia.
You know what the most expensive thing in a strip club is?
Hope.
That's right.
And we're also hoping that we get one more high note, one more magic moment.
And I could appreciate that some people really get enthralled by seeing these kind of legacy acts.
But is Axel Rose really singing like he used to sing?
Or is he just doing a breathy, bullshitty version of what was once some of the most fantastic music out there?
Can we just take Paradise City from Glasgow, 1989, live?
And can we watch that instead and say, that was it?
That was the moment.
There they were.
The zenith.
The pinnacle.
It was all out there.
Sex, drugs and rock and roll.
Now, even though Slash is hiding his age with his hair, he's back there.
71 years old trying to make it all happen.
And meanwhile, Axel Rose, I don't know.
He looks like a puffer fish.
He's just like he's out there trying his best to do it.
And I can appreciate the physicality that must go into putting the show on night after night, day after day, and all that other jazz.
But we're paying $600 a ticket to go see this over and over again.
You're paying $80 to go see Motley crew in 106-degree weather in Atlanta, Georgia.
and meanwhile Vince Neal can't even be bothered with remembering his own lyrics.
I mean, it's so silly.
It really is.
I think it's silly.
I think some of these legacy acts hang it up.
Conversely, if you're Rush and you're in your 70s and you're still fucking murdering it.
Okay, cool, dude.
Go do it.
If you can really do it as good as you used to do it, then go do it.
And a band like Rush is still doing it as good as they used to do it.
Can we say that about David Lee Ralph or Frankie Vell?
our Motley crew or Poison.
I mean, come on, guys.
Let's just be real.
Brett Michaels doesn't even have any hair.
It's not real.
This is a wig.
I think he's back too coming back here.
It is?
Yeah, I think I just read something.
Poison or just Brett?
I think maybe it's just Brett, but maybe it's poison.
I don't know.
Where would Brett play?
Where exactly what a Brett play when he came here?
Let's see here.
Poison live.
Is C.C. DeVille even alive anymore?
I don't know.
Or did he die?
Why do I feel like he died?
He might have.
I don't think Poison's playing.
Poison Tour.
Let's see here.
I'm really interested to know.
It was somewhere kind of obscure.
Oh, the planned 40th anniversary reunion tour for the rock band Poison has been shelved due to financial disagreements between Brett Michaels while members Bobby Doll.
C.C. DeVille and Ricky Rocket were on board. A full band tour is currently stalled because of financial requests from Brett Michaels.
Hmm. Go figure. Brett Michaels wants more than the rest of them. I don't think he should get it, quite frankly. I think C.C. DeVille was definitely just as much of part of that.
And good for him for not being dead. And good for him for staying alive. Good for you for staying alive. Number one. Number two, you keep demanding that cash, dude, because you are just as much apart, if not more, of the.
that success than Brett Michaels. And Brett Michaels has that VH1 cache from, you know, Rock of Love.
That's right. You don't have to worry about it. He thinks he's a bigger star than everyone else.
I got news for you. That hair ain't real. That hair ain't real. Now it's held on by the bandana.
Absolutely. He's bald except for this string of hair that's coming out the back. It's like Hulk Hogan in his final years.
That string of hair was just coming out the back. Just, guys, it's like guns and roses.
Guns and fucking roses waited forever.
They could never agree those two, slash and Axel,
on when they needed to get back on stage together.
They all said they wanted to.
They all said they were working on it.
And this went on for decades and decades.
And the second that they announced that Guns and Roses was coming back
after a 22-year hiatus or whatever it was to do live shows again
with the original lineup, at least the ones that were alive and could actually function,
not Stephen Adler,
billions of dollars.
Billions of dollars,
selling out stadiums to this day.
Rachel and I went to go see them.
I did too when they came here to Atlanta.
They were great.
They were great.
But,
I mean, it's a nostalgia act, right?
Axel's not hitting the high notes like he used to.
He's doing a breathy version of it, right?
A different version.
It's not the same voice.
It's in a different register.
It's a different sound.
But, okay, as a nostalgia act, do it once.
Okay.
Now they're only like there's six.
the final tour, right? Just like the fucking Eagles.
Oh, I know, the final, final, final, final, final, retirement, final. We're back.
Fleetwood, Mac, and the Eagles. They're famous for this. They say they're going away and they're
not really going away. But now we're on our like six or seventh version of six or seven
year of this same tour coming around. And okay, we've seen it. We've done it. Right?
But though when those guys agreed, the cash came flying in, if I'm poison, if I'm Brett Michaels and
Cece Deville. If I'm Brett Michaels, and I'm really holding up a reunion tour because of a split,
I am a fucking moron. That's what I am. Yeah, take what you can get. Absolutely.
Look at your compadre. Look, look over there to, what's his name?
From Motley Crew. Neal. Neal. Vince Neil. Look at him. He is a bloated, drunk,
forgetful, stumbly singer who probably never was good live in the first place.
and now is just terrible.
And people still packing it in on a hundred and six degree night here in Atlanta,
Georgia to come see him be terrible.
If you can just like kind of eke it out, Brett,
then you can take home a boatload of cash.
Just do this for a couple of years and then go retire on a boat with a Keggerator or something like that.
You know what I'm saying?
Don't be an idiot.
Because while people are still paying this kind of money to see this kind of legacy act,
I would get in while they get, I would get while they get in's good if I'm them.
Yeah.
And I'll be goddamned if I'm going to pay a dime.
to see I would I would pay to see crash test dummies again before I pay to see
wah wah there was a girl who crashed into her hell and never looked the same but she had her head gone they looked at her so funny it wasn't all that funny
Did he ever have another song after that?
I don't know.
I don't think there ever was another song after that.
I mean, I guess there was an album, so there were other songs.
How many crash test dummies listeners do you think they have on a monthly basis?
Crash test on Spotify.
Let's see here.
I'm really interested to know this now.
Look at Brian going down the rabbit hole.
Well, verified by Spotify.
1.3 million monthly listeners.
Okay.
What in the good fuck?
Wow, you guys have terrible taste in music.
Afternoons and coffee spoons.
I don't remember this.
Oh, maybe I do.
Oh, yeah.
Okay.
Okay.
It's coming to.
It's coming back.
What is it that makes me just a little bit closer.
Yeah, that's right.
That's not forget this one.
There's a little bit.
It makes me a little not easy.
And my lung checked out with x-rays.
I've smelled the hospital.
always.
So this was the other song.
Yes.
Someday I'll have a disappearing airline.
I remember this.
Someday I wear pajamas in the daytime.
Oh, yeah.
Okay.
All right, they did have another good song.
Yeah, they did have another.
Okay.
All right.
I stand corrected.
I stand corrected.
All right.
I don't know how 1.3 million people are listening to this.
over and over again, but okay.
You know what, Chrissy?
We should start that band. We should start that band we've been thinking about.
We should.
Because when we're 97, we can do the reunion.
Yeah, we can.
Back together again.
Back together again.
Final tour.
All right, let's take a short break.
And we'll be back with more crash test dummies.
It's Rachel, your new voice of God here on TCB.

Just send a text.
We'll respond.
Now, I'm going to go check the mailbox for payment
while you check out our sponsors.
And then we'll return to this episode
of the commercial break.
And the third song I remember by Crash Test Dummies.
And I just looked it up
and Brett's striking out on the zone.
Oh, he is?
Yeah, he's going to be...
The Bull, Sugar Hill, which I've never
her done. It's not a venue. That's not a real venue. It's coming Friday, August 21st.
Okay. That's this Friday.
Oh, hey, if I was here, I'd go with you. What did the tickets cost? What, I'm
interested in it? I hate it. What is the difference between a Brett Michael's concert and a Jonas
brother's concert cost-wise? How can we, how can we quantify that? Let's see.
Let's see. On ticket master. Brett Michaels live. I put love. I put love every time when I try
and write live.
Yeah, he's going to be, okay.
I don't even know where this place is.
I've never heard of it.
Oh, it's the outside venue.
Oh, I think I actually have seen a concert here at like a Labor Day picnic that I, that I, with our friend Bobby when Bobby was available for phone calls.
You know, some people just disappear.
Yeah.
You know?
She did.
She did.
Yeah.
She really did.
I know.
Cool girl.
Yeah, I really liked her.
Okay.
Live on stage.
don't even think there's a charge to come in this. I think they just hire people. Okay. Yeah. Yeah. The bowl at Sugar Hill. Follow us on social media. Okay. Let's see here. Next stop, Gallenberg, Tennessee at the convention center. Oh, it's sold out. Okay. So there must. It's sold out, but tickets are still available at, how is that possible? How do you do that? Okay. Well, listen, I think that. I knew I just read something.
about him coming here. I think it was in the AJC. I think it's probably a, if I'm not mistaken,
I think live at the bowl, like it's a package. You pay, you get in, there's food trucks,
you know, you make a night of it, and then they have a big party. It probably holds to a thousand,
maybe two thousand people, maybe. It's like an amphitheater, small town. A ball. A bowl. Yeah,
that's exactly what it is. And, you know, okay, is Brett Michaels really, how much would you pay
Brett Michaels to show up at the bowl and do that, though. I guess it all depends on ticket sales, but let's assume...
You're really getting to it too. Yeah, now I just got to know. Hey, chat, how much do tickets cost for the bowl at Sugar Hill?
Let's see here. How much do tickets cost for the bowl at Sugar Hill? It's thinking. It'll probably take a minute because it's like,
Like, how would you know? Who's ever gone to the bowl for anything?
I didn't know what existed.
I think I actually have been one time, but I think it was a free event.
Sugar Hill's way up there, too.
Way, but.
55 to $65 per person before fees, better than Ezra recently played.
They were $60, Andy Grammer.
Who's that?
Oh, Brett Michael starts at $55.
It is a 1,700 person capacity.
It's fairly small.
However, you can have more expensive options like reserved seats, VIP, and
table options. Okay. All right. So let's do a little matematica here. Let's say the average ticket is
$75 when you add in all the VIP bullshit, right? Okay. So that's about $125,000 worth of money that you're
making. Now, I assume we can take 50% of that and just say that that's going to go to the cost of
the actual thing. So somehow I ended up a $255,000. I'm sure I did my math wrong there.
It's not dividing by two.
I'm divided by 0.5.
Okay.
Okay.
There we go.
I'm good at my job.
Divided by $2.62,000.
You got to pay the musicians, you know, on stage.
Yeah, he's probably getting, what, 20 grand?
Probably 20 grand.
But hey, listen, that's not a bad Friday night.
And if you're doing that every Friday night, then you're making a good living.
Oh, he's doing nine dates?
That's what I just saw.
Oh, he's doing nine dates?
Yeah.
Okay, so $200,000 to go out there and, you know, do the rotisserie
chicken circuit?
Yeah.
Hey.
Yeah, he's planning a fairground.
Generations Park at Boys Ranch.
Boise or Boys?
Boys.
Boys.
At the Boys Ranch.
What's going on, Brett?
What is it coming to?
Why don't you just make up with Cece and get on the fucking road?
What are we doing here?
You're going to be singing the same goddamn songs.
He's a holdout.
Yeah.
Poisoned.
He's jumping on his elbow.
You could probably make $50,000 a night yourself, and you could do like 22, 32 dates in a summer, and you would make almost a million bucks.
I did the math real quick there.
You can make $500,000, $600,000, no, $2.5 million.
You could make a shit ton of money if you just went out there and did the do.
Go sell out arenas and amphitheaters and stuff like that.
And I'm saying you're going to sell them out.
But you could do better than $20,000 a night.
And look at what you're doing.
You're doing the rubber chicken circuit.
You know what the, I don't, Chrissy and I have never even heard of the bowl at Sugar Hill. And that means it's likely the coolest place in town. That's what that means. It's the new hot spot. The bowl at Sugar Hill, which is, by the way, like 60 miles outside of Atlanta. Yeah. So it's not even really Atlanta. But listen, there are humans out there too. Yes. And that's probably your core audience out there. And they're likely in their 80s. And they're going to go out there and pay $180 to have VIP table.
so that you can, you know, wrap on your hair, your wig.
Tie it on.
Yeah, go out there and sing, she's my cherry pie.
Oh, that's Warren.
I'm sorry.
I got it wrong.
Every rose has its stone.
Just like every day has it dawn.
Just like every cowboy sings a sound, sell the song.
Every rose has its thorn.
Enter Cece DeVille.
Yes, yes.
That's why you need Cece, you fucking ass clown.
Now stop trying to look for love on VH1 and fucking make up with CeC.
Get some cocaine and do it like you did back in the old days.
Then you're getting the big money.
But now you're playing fucking, you know, hooters on Sugarloaf Parkway.
And at the Boys Ranch.
And the Boys Ranch, the Boys Ranch.
Should be illegal to have that name in 2020.
It sounds like Jeffrey Epstein's place in Idaho.
Going down to the boys ranch.
Nothing suspicious going on here.
Nothing to look at here.
Unbelievable.
Oh, God.
Unbelievable.
I just can't believe how these people are acting.
First of all, I'm arguing against them even going out on tour, but then I'm arguing for them going out on tour.
I'm making both sides of the argument for you here, Brett, Michael.
Why am I rooting for Brett Michaels?
Never liked the guy in the first place.
Did he ever find love?
No, he didn't ever find love.
No, I think we found out he was actually married the entire fucking time he did the show.
Yeah, he was like engaged to some girl.
It was all fucking bullshit.
It was never real.
Brett was never really looking for love.
But highly entertaining show.
It was a very entertaining show.
I will give you that.
I will give you that. Very entertaining.
Daisy.
Yeah, Daisy was the best.
Yeah, she got her own show after that.
Yeah, she got Daisy of love.
VH1 went on an epic run there for a while.
They put, like, Webster, the guy who played Webster, they put him in a house full of other drunk
celebrities.
I'm going to have the rehabs.
Yeah.
Well, no, I'm just talking about like celebrity house or whatever it was, celebrity house, VH1.
They put Webster this little person in the house with a bunch of people, and they put him up on the top bunk.
He kept falling off in the middle of the night.
He was getting drunk and walking into the walls.
What you're talking about, Willis?
I mean, it was like, this is the most entertaining six years of television was when VH1 went ape shit and just made every celebrity show ever.
Yeah, VH1 Celebrity Rehab with Dr. Drew Pinsk, Dr. Drew Pinsky.
I mean.
Yeah.
Then they have Flav or Flav.
He was on there too looking for love, I think.
He was?
Yeah.
Yeah.
Oh, yeah, that's right.
Flavor of love.
Flavir.
That's right, flavor of love.
These kids today, they'll never know what it was like to grow up in an era of VH1 shitty reality television,
where MTV was doing, you know, highbrow, jackass, VH1.
And Ozzy.
That's right.
In between Cheryl Crow songs, VH1, Cheryl Crow videos, VH1 was putting on epic entertainment.
And never again.
And by the way, the editing on those shows was so fucking hilarious.
Yes.
They had a great sense of humor, and I loved them.
No one was safe.
Nothing was sacred.
It really all – maybe that's the start of all this drama.
Maybe that's how we got here to this idiocracy point.
We all let Brett Michaels occupy our living rooms for an hour a week.
Bring them back.
Bring it back.
Brett, listen, however you make your money, you make your money, buddy.
I can't go up to the bullet sugar place or whatever the fuck it's called.
Or the boys rant.
What a tragic name.
What a tragic name.
bad. The Boys Ranch. And what is he, it's, maybe that's like an actual boys camp and they're having Brett Michaels for the night? I looked at it. It's some kind of fairground type thing. Oh, okay. Yeah. Yeah, because if I, it's in Texas. If I'm sending my kid to the Boys Ranch for the summer and I'm paying $1,000 a week to have them up there learning and, you know, tying knots and doing canoeing and stuff, if they say Brett Michaels is coming Friday night, I'm probably pulling my kid out real fast. Here we go. Brett Michaels has never been married and does not have a wife. Oh, okay. However, he was famously
in a long-term on-off relationship with former model and actress Christy Gibson.
Okay.
I think that's what it was, is that Christy Gibson was in and around the whole scene.
After all that, he never found love.
After all that, the guy never found love.
Well, it's hard to make love with that bandana on your head.
You don't want to give it up.
Yeah, it is a whole new look without the hair.
When you're gluing the hair to the back of your bald head, you know, you're bound to make a mistake or two.
Christy probably was like, well, shit, Brett.
I can't be seen with you.
Oh, wait, they're co-parents.
Oh, okay.
Okay.
All right.
What's it like to be...
Daughters, Rain, and Georgia.
Oh, yeah.
I think I read something about Rain, like...
I could be wrong about this.
One of those...
I think I read that one of them was like an oldie fan's model or something.
Don't forget this look, too.
He had that black cowboy hat.
Remember that?
Oh, God.
Yes, I do.
Yeah.
Well, he wore it for most of his famous rock years, you know, with every...
Every rose has its thorn.
Which, by the way, is definitely...
the best poison song that there's ever been.
Like, you know, unskiny bop was not exactly the pinnacle of heavy metal rock and roll.
But man did MTV play the shit out of that.
Unskinny.
Bap, bap, bada da da da da da da da da da da da.
I mean, who came up with that idea?
Who was in there?
Was that C.C.?
Probably C C C C C had a little problem with cocaine.
I don't know if you guys know this, but he had a house where like 50 people were living.
And there's like a.
Oh, yeah.
Yeah, there's a famous doc.
didn't want to be alone. There's a famous documentary that was done about one of the guys that lived there.
And he was a musician. And C.C. was touring around and he ended up in Rhode Island or somewhere.
And there was this guy playing in this cover band or this band. And at the time, Poison was just breaking up.
And C.C. wanted to do his own thing. And so he saw this guy playing guitar. It was like a kid.
He was like 18, 19 years old. And he said, hey, come, come to my house. And Ccci's going to my house.
And I'm snort can up your butt and come down my house. And so the guy moved. And so the guy moved.
moved all his shit, like out of his mom's house, moved all shit over to C.C. DeVille's house,
overlooking, L.A., beautiful house, a ton of cars, all the shit. And he goes there and he had,
there's this whole documentary about him telling this story of the month and a half that he lived
with C.C. DeVille. And what a house of horrors this whole thing was. C.C. would be on
four or five-day epic benders, drinking, but mainly doing cocaine. Occasionally he would be down
in the studio playing, but it was hard to get anything done because, of course it is. You're
You're high in cocaine, you get nothing done.
You get something done for the...
You rearrange a lot of stuff.
That's right.
Furniture gets rearranged.
You're probably playing the same chord over and over again 30 times and thinking it's,
you know, the next white album by the Beatles.
I mean, I've been there.
I've done this.
You get stuff done for the first three lines.
And then after that, it's all a mess.
And after the 30th line, nothing gets done.
It's just a lot of talking about what we could mind.
That's right.
You could solve the world's problems, high on cocaine.
and you probably do, you will forget it by the 30th line.
Because by the 30th line, you're just looking for more cocaine, right?
That's what's going on.
D.
So he tells this story.
And he tells a story about how someone came to the house, got ripped roaring for a couple days,
and then it says, I got to get back home.
And Cici says, take the purple Lamborghini or whatever.
Takes the purple Lamborghini, puts it in the trees.
Crashes it.
Yeah, just goes off the Hollywood Hills, puts it in the trees,
and walks back up to the house and is like,
ah, I crashed your purple ambrkini.
And C.C. is like, ah, don't tell anybody,
don't tell anybody you were driving it or something like that.
It was like a real weird time.
I didn't look that up.
C.C. DeVille is like an, it was an epic drug abuser,
and he has said so himself.
He's like, I'm not saying anything.
I think he's sober now.
Good for him.
You have to.
Yeah, you can't go on like that, right?
But I say, get back on the horse.
Let's get some good fresh cocaine.
Let's look.
get it through a fresh lens and let's get out there and play every worse has its thorn.
But I would imagine that unskiny bop probably came from Cecee Coked up.
He probably, that unskney bop, bop, bop.
Blows me away.
Well, there we go.
Unskinny bop was a terrible song.
Terrible song.
It is.
It's bad.
Oh, God.
Same chord, same chord, same chord, same chord, same chord, same chord, same chord, same chord, same chord, same chord, same chord.
Wow!
Pab-p-p-d-l-d-d-d-d-d-d-d-d-d-d-d-d-d-d-d-d-pid-d-d-pso fucking high on cocaine.
Can't see my face all right a plane.
Cut another rail on the garage.
I left one for you in the bathroom.
Wow.
time I think of Cece de Ville and I think of cocaine.
I think of those guys in the Italian restaurant where Rachel and I had dinner.
They were there for like an hour.
That's right.
That's fucking blowing lines and how they were so twisted that they couldn't sit still.
They were like, ah, I couldn't tell you a fucking thing that was said during that entire dinner with Rachel.
But I could tell you exactly what I remember seeing between those two human beings that just kept going to the bathroom minute after.
minute day after day. God, I remember those days. They were fun sometimes.
Cocaine, let me repeat myself. Cocaine is fun for the first three lines. A lot of fun.
It opens you up. You're talking. You could conquer the world. You go out to the bar.
You get a fresh beer. You do the whole night. By the 10th line, it turns into something
completely different, right? It's just completely at your apartment. At your house. Yeah. The walls start
closing in, right? And then it becomes a totally anti-social.
drug. And it's just something completely different.
Yeah.
And, yeah.
And since...
Now I want to see a picture of Cece.
Oh, yeah. He's probably not looking good, I would imagine, after all of that drama.
Anyway, all right, let's take a short break.
Yeah, I'm going to look him up.
Okay, sounds good. We'll be back.

Okay, let's see what Brett Michaels sounds like live.
What do you say?
Let's do that.
Oh, here he is.
Oh, Brett Michael's boot off stage in Nashville.
Oh, no.
Oh, right. Let's see this. All right.
Oh, no, that's not Brett Michaels.
Okay, I don't hear any singing.
Okay, I don't hear any singing.
I'm falling in down and raising a cage.
Right on.
What?
Okay, well, I rest my case.
Poison should not get back together.
Yeah, I rest my case.
Poison should not get back together.
That is terrible.
By the way, he's in a huge, like amphitheater, and it looks like it's packed.
And that was from December 31st, like a New Year's Eve concert.
Listen, Brett, do your thing.
All right, I'm not here to tell you what to do or not to do.
But whatever you do or don't do, keep us informed.
Keep us in the loop.
Send us a video.
I would have you on the show.
I would have Brett Michaels on the show.
Yeah.
I would talk to Brett Michaels.
I would like more likely to talk to C.C. DeVille, who looks completely different than I ever remember him looking. That's for sure.
He's been 20 years sober, it said.
Okay, good for him. That's probably the best. Because if some of the stories are true and it seems like they likely are, then he couldn't go on forever like that. But 20 years, sounds like not a lot of time. Like, shouldn't he, he should have been sober for, well.
Well, since 2006. Okay. But yeah, that took him a long time.
Did you hear that Brad Pitt was sober for like nine years and then did some interview with like Vogue or something and started drinking again?
And the guy asked, I thought you were sober.
And he said, yeah, you know, ish.
Like I just had to be careful about how much I drink.
He had to just want.
He owns a winery.
So, I mean, what are you going to do?
You got to taste a little bit of the goods there.
But, you know, I think we all find, I think, most of us.
find if we get to this age that you can only party so hard for so long before you have to make
some kind of ultimate decision do I keep trashing myself or in my mind and my emotions and my
friendships and you know my family life or do I become a drug dealer and start selling blue
crystal meth to make money for my ultimate death that is called the white Walter
white moment.
And, you know, a lot of these celebrities
have that Walter White moment and they decide, I'm going to
get, I'm going to sober up. That's what I'm going to do.
And it seems like everybody, you know, sober up to some degree.
And it seems like everybody has
some version of
this really made me feel a lot better.
Like, this did my life a lot of good.
Yes. But you don't hear is people
who just take that very long
drug-addled, drunk
world and end up at the end
of it, except for maybe like
old folks. Ozzy? Ozzy,
Frank Sinatra
Yeah
You know
It's few and far between
Few and far between
Those are epic
Those are legends
Those are legends
Rolling Stones
You know
You think of those guys
Keith
Keith
I was watching the old
I was watching an old video
Of Faces
The band
Faces
Faces is so fucking
Love Faces
One of my favorite bands
Rod Stewart
Ronnie Wood
Ronnie Wood
the
Who else?
The drummer.
Ian McLaughlin is he in it too.
Anyways, fantastic band.
Fantastic band.
Fantastic band.
And I was watching their old live, like the live thing that they did.
Stay with me.
Do you remember that?
Yeah.
Oh, yeah.
We've got like a couple of their box sets.
Oh, you do?
Yeah.
Final.
Okay, there's a live version of Stay With Me.
And it is a.
parent how fucking roasted on cocaine these guys are.
Oh, yeah.
Just roasted.
Just like blood just shooting out of their nose.
I was the 70s.
I know.
But that's epic.
Like, these guys knew how to handle it.
Yeah.
Plus, I think it was better back then or something.
Or worse.
One of the two.
Like, it was either worse or better or something.
But it wasn't so tragic.
But now it just doesn't seem like people can handle it like they used to.
I mean, Rod Stewart is still running around grinding against women.
So, you know, well, God, this is good. Man, this is good. No, no, it's so good. So good. If you've ever heard faces, you've got to check out faces. Anyway, so I just say this, that all these guys and girls who have gone down this path seem to at some point have some, you know, moment of clarity, awakening. And then they sober up or tragically they die, like Chris Farley or John Belushi.
The Hayden Pan of Tare. I was just about to get to that. Yeah. So sad.
there are so many people now that I and I think this is sad but I understand why they're doing this.
There are people that worked with Hayden in certain ways.
The last director that directed her in a movie went on YouTube and or went on Instagram and he made a long video.
And he said this.
He said a couple of years ago I had Hayden in one of my movies.
It was her last movie that I directed her in some kind of horror film.
Oh yeah.
She was like in scream something.
She was in scream but then she was in another one after that.
It was like two or three years ago like a low budget film.
He said, I was really excited to work with Hayden because I had worked with her previously in another capacity, not as a director, but she was really fantastic.
She was so talented, a beam of light.
But there was an aura of darkness that followed her in the years that I worked with her.
And this last time I worked with her, when she showed up at the airport and someone went to go get her, I got a phone call from the security team saying, we picked her up from the airport, but something.
something's wrong, right? And he said, I didn't think much of it. It was a text message. I didn't think
much of it. She got to the set. I greeted her at the car. And he said it became immediately apparent
that while she was lovely and not being difficult or anything like that, like she wasn't being
diva-ish. She was in no shape to work. Like this was, and he's like, I'm not going to go further than that,
but she was in no shape to work. We have heard from friends who knew Hayden in some capacity that
Hayden was kind of a mess
that she had trouble on
sets of certain shows, on
movies, that she had trouble
staying sober long enough to get
through a shoot and that it was
problematic and that it was well known
and that, you know, when she was shooting the
Nashville show, sometimes people would report that
she wouldn't show up to work because she
was still out from the night before. Like,
it was really difficult. So,
you'd heard these stories and this
is not hearsay, this is hearsay,
my hearsay, but it's not
like, I want to be clear. This is not something I'm reading in a magazine. We heard this from people
who knew her years ago. And so it's just sad. Like, it's sad when it gets you. Right? When it gets you,
it's sad. And then she had that abusive boyfriend. That's what I was just reading today. I didn't
realize, he was the one who called 911. So obviously that wasn't good. No. Her family was trying to
get her away from him for a long time. God. Yeah. Well, now they opened up a criminal investigation.
So even though they said there was no suspected foul play,
something was going on, obviously.
Yeah, something was going on.
That guy had multiple restraining orders against him by her.
She came out and talked on a bunch of shows,
including Jay Shetty's show,
about how she was abused by him
and she wanted people to know it
so that he didn't hurt anybody else
and so that people felt like they could talk about these things.
And, you know, all very, very sad.
But then he's at the scene of her death.
Yeah, with his brother.
was brother. What are they doing? They're probably partying is what they were doing.
They were probably partying and she overdosed and they did the right thing by not leaving.
They called the police. And apparently what I read was the officer's description in the description that he gave when he showed up on the scene.
He said the brother was extraordinarily distraught, like emotionally distraught.
But the boyfriend was focused on trying to get Hayden to respond to treatment, like, you know, to try and get her to revive.
And that when the paramedics declared her deceased, that he also fell apart.
So I think this is just like a long night of party in that probably went sideways.
That's the nightmare.
I mean, that's a, I remember, this is not a funny story.
But I remember there was like when I lived with these dancers back when I was in my early late teens, I traveled in kind of a rowdy crowd, dancers, strippers.
And I dated one.
And we lived with them and we partied with them.
And you can imagine how crazy some of these nights got.
They got really, really crazy.
One night, I was not there.
I was working and I don't know why I wasn't there, but I wasn't there.
But there was a girl who hung around the dancers.
It was not a dancer herself, but she hung around them.
Her name alludes me at this time.
But I remember in the afternoon seeing the girls that I was friends with.
And they were like, white as a ghost, very serious.
strung out, obviously had had a long night. And they started, they were very upset because the night
before they had done a bunch of blow and the girl who, this hangar around her girl, they were in a
hotel room and she OD'd on cocaine. And they had to call the ambulance and then go to the hospital
with her. And she survived. But apparently it was a harrowing event where a heart stopped and revival
and, you know, paddles and shirts cut open
and just a lot of all the like minutia
of trying to keep someone alive
after they've been through this kind of thing.
It wasn't three fucking days later
before that girl was partying with us again.
And I just remember being really impacted,
not so much that I didn't party.
But I remember being so impacted by the sight,
by hearing this story and then the sight of this girl
then partying additionally.
that I do remember questioning my life choices at that moment.
It only took me another 52 years to get sober, or to stop, you know, cut out the shenanigans.
But I do remember feeling like, oh, wow, this is.
Yeah, that's sad.
I mean, addictions are thing.
You hear about that too with the users that they use the Narcan.
Oh, yeah.
And then they're back out.
They get mad because it pops their high, right?
Yeah.
Yeah.
I have Narcan.
I have Narcan.
I have two of them in my house.
And the reason why I have, well, first of all, like, we got this.
Astrid was looking up.
The kit that you should have in the house for emergencies.
First aid kits, yeah.
And in the first aid kit now, it says you should get Narcan and you can go to the store
and you can get two of them for free.
This was like under a program under the Biden administration.
So we went to, I went to CVS and I got some things.
And then I asked the pharmacist, can I have some Narcan?
And they said yes.
And no questions asked.
And then gave me two Narcan's asked me if I knew how to use it.
I was like, I don't know.
You know, how do you use it?
Snort it up someone's nose if, you know, right into their brain or whatever it is.
And so, you know, it's kind of sad when you have to, like, when that's the world we live.
But that's the world we live and we have to treat addiction.
I think like the disease that it is, I think it's so much better now than it was back then.
Drugs are very frequently and freely talked about.
I don't think there's anything embarrassing me personally about having a history that includes, you know, not only experimental drug use,
but then just drug drug use.
Like, there's a difference, right?
There's ayahuasca, which is not something I would do on a Thursday afternoon, right?
But then there's, you know, cocaine, which I worked in the restaurant industry.
We did all the time.
It was just one of those things.
And I don't think there's anything embarrassing about having dipped my toe in that water.
I'm glad that I didn't go down the road of Hayden Penitieri or Chris Farley or John Belushi.
But those people, you know, I think we're still.
shying away as a society from calling it what it is. It's a disease.
Yeah.
There's a famous case that I saw on TV a couple weeks ago. I think MSN did a story about it.
There's a guy in Minnesota back in January. He does some drugs. He overdoses. He walks into the hospital.
The hospital staff knows the guy. He's been in a lot. They get irritated that he's there.
He claims that he's having trouble breathing. He's all fucked up. You can see it in the police camp video.
and the hospital staff wants him out.
They call the police because they want him out.
He needs to go somewhere else.
Drop him off at the bus station.
He's just faking it.
You know, we see him all the time, blah, blah, blah.
Really super terrible way of handling a patient.
Even people who are ODing or who are withdrawing from, they deserve care.
They deserve care.
And if that includes giving them medicine to make them feel better, that's what you should do.
It shouldn't be your decision about whether or not you think somebody's faking it.
It's like people walk into, you know, clinics or hospitals right now, and they got a
fucking leg falling off and they can't get a Vicodin because, you know, oh, he's faking it.
It's drug-seeking behavior.
We have radicalized the treatment of human beings to the degree that we don't even look
like human beings.
Well, the officers eventually, they argue this point.
The officers are not comfortable.
They're like, why would we, he looks sick.
Like he looks bad.
And they're like, nope, just faking.
We know him.
You know, he can't stay here.
You got to get him out.
You know, take him to a bus station, whatever.
They put him in the car.
It's clear he can't even stand.
He can't even hold himself up.
He looks emaciated.
He looks high.
He looks terrible.
He's not breathing.
He's making gurgling sounds.
And the officers are talking to themselves and they're like, are you comfortable with
this?
And the other officer is like, I am not comfortable with anything that's going on right now.
The officers are showing some humanity.
And they're like, they need to take care of them.
It's like, well, you know, if they refuse to treat him,
what do we do? So they go and they bring him to the bus station and 30 minutes later, he dies.
Oh, no. And, you know, it's like as a society, we need to make a decision about how we're going to treat
other human beings in the throes of addiction. Are we going to treat them like criminals? Because that's
not what they are. They're just people making bad decisions or making decisions that we don't necessarily
agree with in that moment. And I think the answer is we need to start treating each other like human
beings and stop treating everyone like a moral decision that we should undertake. It's not our call.
It's not your call whether or not. And as much as you'd like it to be. And if you've ever had
anyone in your life that's in the throes of addiction, then you know it's a very difficult
disease. It's a personality disorder that can be very hard to understand. But that doesn't
mean that we get to dehumanize somebody at all, period, end of sentence. Anyway, that's my soapbox
for today.
I did that.
But I'm
Bum, bongny
Bop, pop,
I leave you with the best news.
All right, I just had to say.
I agree.
Now, I was thinking about Hayden
and I was thinking about,
wow, how sad, you know?
Very sad.
And there wasn't, you know,
maybe if someone had treated her
a little bit more like a human
or the disease that it was,
maybe she could have gotten the help.
And I don't know.
Listen, if Hayden,
If Hayden isn't getting the help, she's world famous and probably has some money to her name,
then imagine how hard it is for the homeless guy who's got an addiction problem, walks into a hospital,
and then they turn him away.
I was surprised that she was in Greenville, South Carolina.
It says she was temporarily living there.
Yeah.
For what reason?
I don't know.
Why Greenville?
I mean, perfectly lovely place, but...
Yeah.
Why Greenville?
I don't know.
Maybe she just stayed in the South after she did Nashville.
And she was just kind of like traveling around.
Or maybe that's where that Brian Hickerson guy lived.
I don't know.
Who knows?
Not too far from here.
Well, no.
Not at all.
I go up there quite a bit.
Yeah.
Steve family.
But yeah, that's very sad.
Very sad.
Get a daughter.
I know.
Luckily, the daughter is with the dad and husband for a while.
That's not going to make it any less sad for her as she grows up and starts to understand the ramifications of that.
But there is a parent there that is parents.
think, so I guess that's good.
He's a famous boxer.
Yeah.
Like a Ukrainian boxer, I think, if I'm not mistaken.
Russian boxer, Ukrainian boxer.
Kalitsko.
Kalitsko.
Back on!
God.
All right.
Okay.
Chrissy and I will be back next week, live streaming.
You can catch the episodes.
Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, something like that.
