00:05 You know how I used to say if you leave the open passion fruit and make your car smell like new car smell? Beach plum is the new? Beach plum also does that. It's the new meta. Beach plum is great. But my question is, is that do plums grow on the beach or is this just a pun? It's a pun. It's a pun.
00:21 It's a pun. It's a plum. That took me a long time to figure out. But it also sounds like peach plum. Oranges. Yes. There's pears plum syringes. That's what goes through my head every time is the M&M lyric.
00:34 oranges peach piss flung syringes Here I come Bring bring Vikingin Bring ring ring ring Which one is that? I have no idea I just have random scraps
00:45 Of rap lyrics in my head I can't wait till we're fucking senile Dude There's like it's like the new I don't know if this feels like the new meme form A lot of millennials are posting Where they're like me when I'm 80 And dementia ridden
00:57 And they're just like Dear Saman Dear Sammy Ronnie was kissing girls doing like the letter from Jersey Shore or random M&M quotes and me like, I was just in New York and I was like in downtown I was like dead in the middle of little, little, little. There you go.
01:16 Little did we know that we riddle some middleman who didn't do deadly. You got to say that. It's funny. I'm going to say about dementia. Come on in the water's the water's wonderful. This is an I-Heart podcast. Guaranteed human. Lisa, tell them about our new show.

We also have a non-news history version of the Daily Zykeyes, dropping each Monday morning called the iconograph where we do a deep dive into the Zykeyes through the lens of a different
04:34 icon. and I think Adam just gave it a good idea for an upcoming Zah Zila. GZilla. Godzilla. The GZilla. The G. Might have to have him be the guest for that too.
04:46 Put the G in. I would love it. Yeah. I've just been going deep on Godzilla. Amazing. I love Godzilla. Perfect. You and my 10-year-old son will be the guests on that episode.
04:56 But yeah, we take a look at icons, their power. We're in the midst of the spooky run. Dr. We got a couple more coming up that are super fun. But right here, right now, it's Thursday, October 15th, 2026. October 3rd, what, 15th? Yeah, that doesn't seem right. Let me fact check.
05:18 What the fuck? That's the ticket. Halfway there. Hey, you like a Schwarma? It's your day. It's National Shwarma Day. National Cheese Curr Day. National I Love Lucy Day.
05:27 Put them all together. National Estetitian Day. National Latin X AIDS Awareness Day. National Real Sugar Day. Hey, shout out the mushrooms because it's National Mushroom Day, too. National Real Sugar? Yeah.
05:41 We're drinking Diet Coke. I know. In your face, sugar. It'll be me and a Sparta May all the time. Big Sugar. Big Sugar sounds like it shouldn't be something to fear, but man. We did that one episode with somebody who was like going deep on Big Sugar. Yeah.
05:57 Not great. I had a family friend who was like had a side business developing a like a sweetener that was like diabetic friendly and tooth friendly and like the sugar people came for him. Oh yeah. With weird lawsuits to be like, don't you fucking don't even try it. Yeah. They've had the shit in Coke Zero for years
06:15 but it's just been a process of like getting it out of the labs into the hands of the good people of Coca-Cola. My name's Jack O'Brien, AK. You ground and pound me baby right down. Cash Patel is curled up on the mat
06:31 mat crying. You ground. and pound me, baby, right down. Is it gay porn or an FBI training? That one courtesy of Flash hardcore in reference to the FBI's weird insistence that they get. UFC training, dude. They're going to get there all their self-defense training exclusively from the U.S. Are you laughing? Do those are the toughest fucking men on Earth, dog?
06:56 It's so 10-year-old coded. It's always so fun coming on a podcast that's been running for a really long time, because you sit here and you're just like, man, they're just doing all their rituals. I don't know what's happening, but eventually. You'll catch on real quick.
07:12 Trust me. Trust me. What the fuck is this? This guy sings a song after his name, and then it's submitted by a guy? It's submitted by Flash Hardcore, who also sounds like he could be in the world of the game for it. Shout out to Flash Hardcore.
07:24 I'm thrilled to be joined as always by my co-host, Mr. Miles Gregg. Hey, it's Miles Gray, the Lord of Lankership, aka the Shogun with No Gun. Black News. experimental artist, your boy, Kusama. Thank you for having me.
07:36 It was sick. Yeah. Amen. I always like to start off with a bit of gratitude. It's important. It's important. Miles, we're thrilled to be joined in our third seat by a very funny comedian, writer, TV and podcast hosts, you know from Adam Ruins. Everything.
07:51 His podcast factually, his new very funny stand-up special, big divorce energy dropping October 23rd. Yeah. It's coming back to the show. It's Adam Conover. Hey. Wow, thank you for having me. Oh, he's back. Making noise for myself.
08:06 Please do, please do. I'm thrilled to be here. I love the show. Big divorce energy. Love the show, never heard of the intro. This guy's singing a lot of a few times. Yeah, yeah. And also, you've been on remote every time, too.
08:17 Yes. It's like different when we're screaming at you are joke songs. Yeah, for sure. For sure. Yeah. Much easier to tune out. Yeah. Yeah.
08:25 It's what I like to do. No offense. Just disassociate. No offense. Oh, truly. Truly, dude. You got the new stand-o special coming out? Yeah, it's coming on the 23rd.
08:31 On my YouTube channel. channel self-produced it, financed it, directed it myself. It's, yeah, I'm really, I'm really proud of it. Is that difficult? Did you have to run back and forth really fast? To start the cameras. Please look at him to stage. I'm caught over. I'm on stage. I'm like,
08:48 cut, cut. What the fuck was that? What was I doing? You laugh. Harder. It was, I had a really great DP and I had a great producer. You know, when you're directing a standard special, it's really your thinking about what do I want the feel to be?
09:05 What is the room? What should the room be like? So, like, my last special we did for Dropout, it was very much like HBO special was the vibe. This is like sort of elevated night in a comedy club. That's what we were going for. Chicago at the Den Theater. Yep.
09:19 Really awesome, lovely little theater. And, you know, the story of the special was I had a really big breakup a couple years ago and just started, just like went to New York and started writing about what was happening. Like I was like dating again for the first time in like 15 years and like who the fuck am I? And it was just like writing jokes while I was doing that and then started going on the road and like that turned into the special and it ended up being like people really know me for informational educational political comedy. And this is the opposite.
09:49 This is like I'm trying to dive deep in my own experience and like sexuality and shit like that. And that's yeah. I'm sure that's like such a process too because Adam ruins everything is such a big show that most of people like. It's Adam. They're like, your Adam ruins everything, right? I'm also a guy kind of with like a life that I'm also living. People will react to me on the street like I stepped out of their YouTube, like from middle school. Like guys will go like, oh, is that? Oh, caught over?
10:17 Because they like have not thought about me for 10 years since they last saw. Like I was a, they think of me as a YouTuber from like the from 10 years ago. I was on true TV. God damn it. Yeah. And there's, I have a lot of people who followed me the whole time. and they come see me and et cetera. But yeah, it is like, I sort of made the mistake
10:36 of creating a Pee-Wee-Herman character that I named after myself 10 years ago, like the Adam ruins everything. Yeah, actually, guy. And it's been a process to be like, I am a... I'm actually Paul Rubens. Yeah, I'm a guy. Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Paul Rubin's
10:52 performance to separate the two. I'm really proud of this. Without the movie. You should. The vibes nailed. my compliments to the director and the jokes are great. Thank you, man. Everybody should go check it out.
11:04 We're thrilled to have you here. We're going to get to know you a little bit better in a moment. First, we're going to tell the listeners a couple of things we're talking about. We're continuing to follow Kelly Clarkson Gates. Yeah. New clerks and files have dropped. Yeah. How does Pablo Tori?
11:22 Why does he get the fucking video? The best in the business. I mean, I see it needs to get Pablo Tori. They're like, how do we get young people? Dude, Pablo Tori needs his own fucking desk. He needs his own fucking show. This guy, he's, yeah. He treats every stupid fucking story like at his Watergate and, like, nails the investigative reporting.
11:43 He got the tape immediately. Like, got it. So we all got to watch what exactly happened inside that store. So we're going to take a little of the tape. I've heard about it. I've not seen the tape, but I've heard of the story. It's just wild that there's fucking tape from multiple angles that Poplar tori has. And he's like, let's reverse the angle really quick.
12:00 to see how the shopkeeper is talking to her. The energy, we won't spoil it, but I would say it kind of leads in one direction. Would you say that? Like, whose side of the story are you buying after this? I would say it leads in one direction. We'll talk about that. We'll talk about another really fun video that just dropped.
12:20 A Democratic candidate who, the Democrats are like, what do we do? And it's like, oh, socialism is really popular. and they're like, what do we do? We don't know. We need to find a path forward. I think we have it for them.
12:36 Just get fucking Jamie West. Toasted. Jamie West. So we'll talk about that. We'll talk about Pringles. I just can't wait for Pringles. I can't even imagine what the story's talking about. You're not going to be disappointed.
12:50 Just toss Pringles. We're talking about Pringles. Okay. They got a fun new ad campaign that they're doing. Oh, a little bit strange. But I do want to talk about the Pringle's container. Most iconic container? Is there another product with a more iconic container?
13:06 I'm going to put that in your heads and then we can discuss later. Before we get to any of that shit, Adam, we do have to ask you, what is something from your search history that's revealing about who you are? Oh, my God. I wasn't prepared for this. Something for my search. Can I go? Can I look at it right now?
13:21 Let's go. Let's check. Let's dive deep. So I use a search engine called Kodoo. It's a paid search engine. Let's see if it has my search engine. It's a paid search engine. Yeah, it's a paid search.
13:33 It's like 100 bucks a year. And it doesn't track. It has no ads. Oh, wow. And it has a lot of features that Google doesn't have. For instance, you can tell it to exclude certain sources if you're like, I don't ever want to hear from this again. Right.
13:46 And it'll remember that. It'll remember that. Yeah. What the fuck for a fucking hundred bucks. It also has, if you got to use AI, it has an AI assistant that doesn't feed any of the models, any of your data. and stuff like that. It's a good site.
14:00 And it's not fucking loading my... Anything you've been curious about of late. Godzilla video game. Travel. I've been, you know, I've been spending a lot of time shopping for vintage ceramic dishware. I got really into...
14:17 Okay, so this will connect to who I am because after I became single and I was decorating my place for the very first time. And I was like, I don't like, like the dishes. I don't like the dishes that I've had for so many years. I want to pick out new dishes and I got really into Heath ceramics, which is like a heritage ceramics from California. I'm like, I live in L.A. It's mid-century modern. I'm going to get the dishes. And I just went so deep
14:44 on like, okay, like this is the pattern. This pattern was created in 1945 and by Edith Heath. And it's coming this many glazes. And sometimes I'm like, so I'm like, okay, I need more dessert bowls, but they discontinued the obsidian glaze. Can I find anybody on the secondhand sites who's selling dessert bowls and obsidian? Because that'll go good with my moonstone. And one of the first things I did was I bought some of the plates from them. They had an annual edition that came in like green. And I was like, oh, that's nice.
15:13 I'll get green plates. And then afterwards I was so, I was like, I shouldn't have got green. That was so stupid. Looks like it's from the 70s. What was it? The decor. Like, I was really like feeling so much of these plates and so much about my personality. I get that too
15:27 What was it like when you looked at your old plates And you're like man fuck these plates What was it about them? It just were like I'm not this person anymore I mean some of the plates had been Literally I had since before me and my ex For 15 years and I had some of those plates From like before we were using the same plates
15:45 That I like my parents that got me in college They weren't bad Yeah yeah but I was just like this I didn't make a choice Of this stuff And then everything else in the house Like most of the different wear and stuff with stuff she had picked out because she's an artist. She had a great taste.
15:58 Yeah. You know, just she wanted to do that. I, like, never made any of those decisions. And, and I felt like, I don't know who I am. I don't know what my own style is. Am I a moonstone or a obsidian glaze? Yeah, exactly. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
16:11 Exactly. And, you know, like, she moved, well, after she moved out, we're still very close. And so I know the dishes she bought. She bought Corral. That's the very thin place. They're, like, made a glass. Yeah. And I was like, no, that's not me.
16:23 I need stoneware. There you go. I need heavy clay, and I just got really deep into it. That's going to last. Now, I don't get their mugs. I get a Hassami porcelain mugs. You know, Hasami porcelain? No.
16:33 Japanese. I know Hassami means scissors. Oh, it means scissors. Well, there's a wonderful, wonderful Japanese pottery maker called Hassami that makes, like, mugs that are sort of like all very pleasingly the same size, and they stack and stuff. And they're sort of rough. So I'm, so, yeah, I've gotten really into ceramics.
16:51 Like your ceramics there. Like, bring some intentionality into that part of your, I'm a big believer if you really dive deep into what you like, if you ask yourself about any part of your life, right? We do it a lot with music or movies as guys, but like we do it more rarely with stuff in our house. But if you go like, what kind of furniture do I want it to be comfy? Do I want it to look good? Do I want it or anything like that? If you start thinking about that and really figure out what you like, you will learn things about yourself.
17:20 Yeah, yeah. I'm more defined as a person. And it's really fun. Yeah. They're just like, okay, I want, what, when I pick up a dish, like, what do I value? Yeah. What feels good to me. No, I went through the exact same thing after the fire because you, you, like, literally
17:33 started over with stuff. And I'm like, well, now, because I had the same thing, I had plates from fucking college. Yeah. And I was like, well, now I'm starting over. And, like, one of the first things I bought were, like, these, like, really, like, these Japanese glass drinking glasses that are, like, in ramen shops, like, they're not expensive. But for me, they're very specific, like, texture and I have sense memory.
17:53 with these cups that I was like, then I very much learned. I'm like, for me, my style is like sort of going into my own personal history and finding things that resonate with that, you know, we learn.
18:03 Yeah, that's great. And then every time you touch it, you feel like you're getting in touch with a piece of yourself. Exactly. If someone says, oh,
18:09 I like these, you have something nice to say about it, connects you. Right. Before I'd be like, I don't know, I got in college or some shit. I don't know.
18:16 And then you're like, God, okay, thanks. I don't know. Don't look at me. What, what's something you think's underrated?
18:23 them. I think that something that is underrated is the entire genre of jazz. I think is underrated. I think a lot of people think that they don't like it and they haven't gone and they haven't gone to see like I saw Jeff Parker's quartet at the lodge room. He's an incredible guitarist and but it's not about like you know, tricks on the guitar like it's a four piece. Him Josh Johnson saxophonist Anna Butters
18:52 bassist and I'm blanking on the name of the drummer, but like, it's literally just like they're all looking at each other and one of them starts playing just anything and the next one's like, okay, I think I'll play this. Just pure improv. Just pure improvisation and then you just watch them like generate
19:08 like some beautiful music together and it's like they're never going to play that again. They did it right there. It was like so moving. They did three nights the lodge room and I went to see every single night of it. Oh, damn. Yeah. No, sorry, I would do two nights but there were people who went to every day. And was it was really moving and powerful.
19:25 And I feel like that's the soul of the genre. Is that like improvisation like live in front of people? And that's so rarely what people actually think that it is. Understand. Yeah, exactly. I think for anybody who plays an instrument, it's instantly, I appreciate jazz because if you know, you're like, they're all,
19:45 they just have charts with chord changes at most. And then from there, they're vibing out with each other. and they are so technically proficient on their instruments that they can just go up there and fucking give you something beautiful without having to really be so. I mean, it's obviously intentional, but not like the most of music that people hear that's like recorded, rehearsed,
20:04 and then played over and over again. Yeah, I think it's most people should. I think people just kind of think of it as like a texture without understanding like why people like jazz. Like jazz is like the things like, rather than understanding it's a completely improvised. I went with all the he dogs and headed with Kim Katrowski, scatting, jazz skating.
20:24 That's actually the only jazz scatting. So Kim Katrall's jazz skating is a little bit. If I can go a little bit deeper, we're so, like, streaming, and even before that CD has trained us so much to think of music as like a sound wave that you hear, like a musical product you consume, but if you instead switch to thinking of it as like
20:41 something that human beings are doing in front of you, in the same way when you watch a basketball game, you're like, that guy actually had to do that shit. Yeah, yeah. We actually had to jump that high. They're actually having to look at each other. Like, if you look at music the same way and you look for music that, like, works that way. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
20:58 It's like, it'll completely change your experience. So, yeah. This is I'm a, I get stoned and I'm 43 years old is what I'm what you're learning from. Hey, I'm stoned at 42. I don't like jazz music, but I like to compare things to jazz. Like when people are like, what do you do? I'm like, I host a podcast. It's kind of like jazz.
21:15 Oh, you know, we're just in there. Yeah, yeah. Talking about bringles. You know, jazz. It would have jazz was about Pringles. You know what I mean? Most iconic can. This is jazz.
21:27 I will say that this made me realize that I have a memory of, I think the movie Jerry McGuire is underrated in the harm that it did to us as a culture. There's a scene where Renee Zelliger's sister is like having a divorced women meeting. Okay. And they're all like, oh, and the. constant chocolate eat it. It's like this terrible dismissive portrayal
21:55 of what it is to be a divorced woman. Another thing is like it has this babysitter who's into jazz. Do you remember this part? And he's like, hey man, listen to this tape. Coltrane 76. It's going to change your life. And like they put it on
22:11 when they're about to hook up and then they're like the fuck is this? Is it stupid as hell? Jiggy to this? Yeah. He does say, I can't get jibby to this. not to this shit. Wait, who says I can't get jiggie? No, no, I just added that. That was my own feelings.
22:26 I believed it. It was the 90s. I believe that was the line. It would be of the time. Show me the money. I can't get jiggy with this. No, that's what people think of jazz as being, and that's bad. Like, no.
22:39 Yeah, yeah, yeah. There are guys who are like that and they suck. Right. Yeah, yeah. Because you got to be like, look, it's music. It's beautiful. Right. Hopefully you like it because at the end of the day,
22:48 you're listening to something where very talented people are doing it that no other people really on earth can do the same thing. Sure. So take it to leave. Okay. Take it. I prefer Kelly Clarkson, but, you know, potato, potato. What is something you think is overrated? Oh, my God.
23:03 I'll bring it back to the topic of my special. I think relationships are overrated, honestly. Well, I think underrated is being by yourself, genuinely. Like I need for a relationship is over. Yeah, exactly. I think that I certainly, last time, I was single, which was a couple decades ago, I was very much, I hate this and I want to be in a relationship, you know, and then you get into it and you're like, you sort of cling on and that becomes, okay, I've solved this part of my life and you have like a terror of being alone. And now they're in a phase of my life where I'm living alone for the first time in my life. I fucking love it. It's so great. I mean, there's times where it's like lonely. Then you write somebody over or whatever. Yeah, yeah. It doesn't have to be forever. But like to have the experience of standing on your own, too. And you know, it's not. It's not. It doesn't have to be forever. But, like, to have the experience of standing on your own, too. feet and being your own and just deciding I'm gonna I'm gonna shop for myself at the grocery
23:54 the only food I'm gonna get is food I want to eat is or what do I like yeah right right yeah and just having that um or you know going on a trip traveling alone yeah yeah et cetera is like such a powerful experience I totally I mean like yeah I'm we're in long term relationships you kind of like when you say that like I haven't dated in 15 years I'm like yeah I'm like I was I was with her majesty like pre-app use. You know what I mean? And like I think about those, like what that would be. Like I'm like, I don't know what the fuck I would do.
24:24 But also like being in a relationship too, I think for long term, you sort of end up, you kind of you define yourself also by that relationship. Not in a bad way. But like when you're out of it, then yeah, you have this whole other process. I'm sure of like beginning to be like, okay, like how do I define myself now? Yeah. Like I sort of had this image. I've been saying lately that like I didn't know who I was in the relationship or I, or I, I was so much relationship guy, right?
24:49 And I've been watching sex in the city lately. And you know, like the male characters on sex in the city where they'll meet a guy and he has a job, he has an apartment, he has stuff he likes, he dresses away, he has a dog, or he doesn't have a dog. Right, right. Here's a whole person all by himself. That's good to figure out what your version of that is. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
25:09 You know what I mean? Which sex in the city character am I? Yeah. Like some people don't, suppose people aren't one, you know? And it's like good to be one. And then when you are, you want to enter into a relationship, you're like, here's what I bring. Yeah, yeah. I know who I am.
25:23 I like jazz. Okay. Yeah. And I like Heath ceramics. And I, since this was overrated relationships, I'll say that we really hold up in, like, our religion is romantic love in America. And we act as though the relationship is like the most important thing. Yeah.
25:41 And that sustaining it, again, for all costs is the most important thing. And I had that mentality. And it's good to try to, you know. Yeah, yeah, no give up. Yeah. But sometimes, like, it's, you know, it's, it is not the only way to live, you know, isn't a, you know, lifelong, yeah. Yeah, my parents are like that's like when they split, like,
26:00 they became the better versions of themselves after the fact. And my mom, to this day is like single, but she's very much also like, she's like, I desire a level of independence. So like, I cannot get like a relationship does not allow that for me. And she's like, and we tried to stay together for you because we wanted you to have two parents in the household. And I was like, yeah, but like, I could tell if this shit was cooked for like years. And they're like, yeah, that's on us a little bit too. But I think also reinforces the point about like sometimes you have to kind of know what is best. And it's not always about
26:30 like this sort of ideal of, you know, it has to be this thing all the time. And so many kind of lives are admirable, right? Like if you look at celebrities, right, everyone loves Ted Danson, and I'm blanking on who he's married to, but they've been married for like, Maristine Virgin. Thank you. And they've been married for like 40 years and everyone's like, oh, it's so romantic, right? But also, if you go look at, at like a Celebrities Wikipedia page. And it's like, oh, they're married to this person for 10 years. And then they had a period of whatever.
26:53 And then they had a wonderful second marriage. And then that person died. Right. And then they have adult children and blah, blah, blah. Like someone who, you look at that, you go, oh, that person lived a full life. Oh, how cool. Right. Yeah.
27:04 There were seasons. Yeah. And so that's a way to be as well. And I think we need to give ourselves more permission to, you know, live an expansive life as part of it and figure out who we are. So that's my thing. There it is. Is there a rom-com that, like, comes around to that point of view?
27:21 Because I feel like it always, like, gravitationally pulls you to being like, like, they fake out. They're like, you know what? I'm actually happy. And then the person's there at their house at the end, and it's like, thank God, I was going to kill myself. Yeah. I love, I'm always looking for rom-coms or romantic movies that end with, like, a good breakup. Yeah. And the one that's most, because it's so rare, I loved the invite.
27:51 The invite was good. It was really good. And what I loved about it was it showed like this couple, because people who are in relationships are so haughty about everybody else, right? They're like, oh, look at those two. Well, we are so functional, right? Yeah, yeah, yeah. And to see this couple basically just be confronted by their own anxiety and dysfunction.
28:12 and then at the end to realize like this, yeah, this is like, yeah, they're not happy. And I know people, some people think have like gas lit themselves and are thinking the end of that movie, oh, they're going to get back together after the ending because he like plays the piano.
28:27 And then she put their head on his shoulder. Yeah, but no, that is the moment of, I think people have been in a breakup, no, after you decide to break up, you have a moment of tenderness and love for each other, right? And that's, that is what that moment was. They do not get back. together. It's grief, you know, where they're like,
28:44 yeah, this is it. La La Land. They're not together at the end. Oh, yeah. Because he, they're just like, we're doing he chooses to invent jazz music. Yeah, you're correct? Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, you're too. Oh, my God. I'm having jazz, baby. How. Sebastian, no. How embarrassing for, was it, Shazelle, Damien,
29:04 Shazel, how many movies can you make as a white man about white people playing jazz. Like, how can that be... Is that a challenge? At least two, and then he did the third, what was it called, Babylon or something? Babylon. And I think that also looked like a white jazz movie to me.
29:22 It's definitely like the jazz age. It was jazz age, right? Yeah, yeah. But like, how... Come on, man. Hey, he's got something he's into, man. He's discovering himself. That's right.
29:33 I think white jazz is pretty cool. Like, plenty of amazing, white jazz musicians, but like, why that can't be your B-O-V on the entire genre. It's funny how like Whiplash is one of the most upsetting movies for jazz musicians. For actual musicians. Yeah, like, especially jazz musicians.
29:50 They're like, the fuck is wrong with him. His hands are bleeding, doing a double time. He's got a drum harder. That movie, that actually movie is my ultimate overrated. I think that movie is toxic. Sure, sure. Because like, at the end of the, people are like, oh, it's ambiguous. You know, you don't know whether it was good or bad. Yes.
30:08 The ending is ambiguous in the screenwriter's mind, but the screenwriter has accepted the idea that abuse makes you a good musician. In the musician, he's physically and emotionally abused, and in the world of whiplash, that makes him good as playing the drums. That is not fucking true. Being emotionally abused just makes you abused. It sounds like someone who hasn't been to therapy yet and hasn't worked out their own childhood. And that was good. That actually made me stronger. It was directed by a person in the early 20s or something.
30:38 Maybe that's true. Yeah. I feel like that is generally the default position of most movies is that like mean teacher good. Yeah. Yeah. Well, because I think it's an analog for our fucked up parents who are like, they're like, look, man, we didn't know about this stuff when we were raising you. And like, you're just kind of like, I think it was okay that they were really rigid and impatient and screaming. But I'm okay now because I feel like I've done that too.
31:04 And I've described things like, even like, you know, we're raising a child now. and Her Majesty would talk about stuff. I'm like, well, when I was a kid and I was like, and I'm about to say something. Oh, no, that's not good. That's bad. That's actually bad. I'm not actually going to shut up now, and I need to break that cycle. Yeah. All right.

36:11 And we're back. And so, yeah, for people who aren't up on the Clarkson v. Art of Play, whoever wins we all lose, feud that has taken over social media, basically, Kelly Clarkson over the weekend was like, these fuckers treated me like pretty woman. I walked in, they gave me the up and down. They were like, you're not rich enough to shop here, bitch. and then I tried to buy something. They were like, no, you can't buy that.
36:44 You're stupid, essentially. It was kind of the vibes that we got. I guess the implication when they said, oh, this isn't for sale, let me show you something that's more appropriate. She's like, appropriate in that, like, I can afford? Yeah. And you're like, I don't know,
36:57 maybe that it's not for sale. This is appropriate for a transaction. I said, I didn't read anything on social media about this. I read no articles. I only know about the story through other people describing it to me. Yeah, yeah. And it was so funny because like a week ago, someone was like,
37:11 you hear about this Kelly Clarkson story? She got Pretty Woman. Like they turned her away. That could even happen to Kelly Clarkson. I was like, oh, wow, that's interesting. And then a couple days later, someone was like, did you hear about the Kelly Clarkson? You're like, yeah, no, all about it. She tried to buy a gigantic robotic chicken from the wall of a store that was clearly part of the store.
37:29 And they were like, they were like, that's, you can't purchase that. Yeah. And then she described that as being pretty woman. That's so funny. Yeah. You're saying I'm poor? No. But then,
37:40 so that's the second iteration. It's like you go into the restaurant, you're like, can I buy the tables? And they're like, no. How dare you? Oh, so I'm poor.
37:48 You, sir, are coming with me. Yeah. The matriety, yes. So then the next version of the story. She's like, oh, yeah, then why does it have a price tag in this picture? And they were like, well, sometimes we say it's for sale.
38:02 Sometimes we say it's not. I don't know. Like, we're just flugging around. we're a weird store for like adult and child, like knick knacks and stuff. Anyways, so people don't know how to feel about this one. And then Pablo Torre.
38:18 I don't know they do. It feels like one of those things, because we talked from the beginning, I'm like, when I saw the thing, I was like, I failed to see the injury to Kelly Clarkson in any manner.
38:27 I fail to see the injury to anybody. Like you said people don't know how to feel about this. I started laughing because I'm like, why does anybody need to feel any way about it? I know. Why do we have to choose a side? Pick aside, Adam, pick a side. I think the fact that this has become such a big story just says so much more because
38:42 I don't know, like, how has this been fucking four days now of this? Like a simple thing where it's like, celebrity went into a toy store and they said you can buy a thing, basically. I think we're missing like monoculture celebrity gossip. We're missing Britney Spears cutting her hair. We're missing, you know, and we're always trying to make it happen again. Christian Stewart cheated on Robert Pattinson. Yeah.
39:03 Yeah. And so we're sort of like lusting after it and trying to make shit happen. But I think with stories like this, you really save your sanity if you just always start with Team No One. You're like, I'm Team No One. Yeah. I think they're probably both running into it. I started off.
39:17 Yeah. I just read. If it's a multimillionaire versus a wage worker, I'm not going to decide it's a millionaire. Fair enough. Yeah. You know what the fuck they're doing at their job? I mean, yeah, what the fuck do you want me to do? I would be like, this shit isn't for sale.
39:30 Right. I just want to say really early though before we get deep. Kelly Clarkson was a real one during the writer's strike. She was, she stayed off the air, and I know from sort of behind the scene, like they were pressuring her,
39:43 and she like actually stayed off the air. They were trying to get her to a version of the show with no writers, and she was like, no, I'm not going to do it at all. And she like talked to some other folks behind the scenes and made some other good things happen. So she will,
39:55 I will always take her side. I don't think, to me, it's like, It doesn't like, cast her in a different light. It's more like, this isn't an issue. Right. You know what? You couldn't buy the fucking bird at the store.
40:08 But then like the other people are like, we're getting review bombed. They're putting our, our employees at risk. People are crying and like shouting at them and they're shouting to them. Is it for sale? Yeah. They're threatening the people that work at a Brooklyn toy store. At a Brooklyn toy store. This is like some shit Fox News wants you to believe.
40:27 He also wrote the book, Dragons Love Talk. Are you familiar with this one yet? No. This is a children's book. Are you familiar with it? Yeah, yeah, yeah. The store guy? The store guy.
40:35 So it's like he's got a whole children's aesthetic. Like they like make little fun toys for kids and then he made this fun book for kids. And it's one of those books that, you know, it's not for us, but we are the ones who have to read it to our. Yeah, it's not for adults, but we're the ones who have to read it to our kids over and over again. I saw people being like, okay, now I know which side I stand on this. fuck this guy. Fuck dragons love tacos. They just don't like the book
41:03 that sounds cringe. They hate reading to their kids. Yeah, it's just like one of the boys. There's plenty of great books. This isn't the top of the list. But anyways, so we had the two sides of the story
41:14 and then Pablo Torre, who specializes that, you know, he broke the Clippers scandal. He also, there's a weird video of Bill Belichick in his underwear at a, like,
41:25 outside of a house. And he like went and fast. what that where the house was. Whoa. Yeah. So he, he will put a lot of
41:35 energy, yeah. Into the dumbest shit possible. This does feel like a thing because they're, they're based in New York, like through their own network,
41:44 they're like, I know the people that own that fucking store. Right. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. I'm sure it wasn't super. I'm sure they didn't have to hack
41:51 into the mainframe. A FOIA request or something. I'll just say, like, I don't think it's unlikely that Kelly Clarkson fans went a little hard on this one.
42:01 Sure. I will say, like, these are our gods. Like, there are people who have too much writing on her having been wronged in this situation. Kelly Clarkson, and again, I have positive feelings towards Kelly Clarkson, but I don't think of her as the kind of pop star who needs defending. Like, for instance, a chapel rhone type who's a young woman fresh on the scene getting too much attention, I can see why people will be, hey, back off a chapel, I relate to her.
42:28 And it's symbolically important to me. Kelly Clarkson has been mega famous for 20 years. She has a talk show. Like, I don't think she's gotten a bad break. Like, no, yeah,
42:38 I don't think so either. Does she need defending from the public? No, I feel like things I hear are like what you're saying that like she's actually, she's like a good person or whatever. That's why like the whole story just so. That's why it's confusing to me. I'm like,
42:48 so what? Like, it's not like she burned the place down. And they, and they didn't, they didn't fucking like throw hot water in your face or something. So one part of the story that has fallen apart, I would say, is that she went in and was like pretty woman based on like her appearance.
43:10 That's the implication. She's dressed exactly like everybody. She looks like she lives in Brooklyn. Yes. She looks exactly. Yes. Sure. Like it's funny because like when you look at all the people here, I'll show you.
43:21 Let me just pull up the tape. Just pull up the tape. Her argument originally was that she was pretty woman because she looked. less affluent than most people in the store. If you're using Pretty Woman as your example, they're like, you look for. I think perhaps you would like a more modest singing bird. So, right over this way.
43:40 So God, they're all wearing Brooklyn hats. Trying to find Kelly Clark. That's what they did on the Pablo Tori episode. They're like, which one is Kelly Clarkson? He's right here. Okay. That's Kelly Clarkson. And so their point was like, I don't know,
43:54 she doesn't seem like an outlier in terms of dress. Yeah. But okay. She's in there for four minutes and 50 seconds total, which was surprising to me. It's, like, I had an epic showdown in my brain when I first heard this story. Yeah, yeah. You thought it was like fucking Harper's Ferry or something shit. Yeah, yeah.
44:14 And she, yeah, it seems like she asks about a thing on the wall. They point her to, like, it's almost like a silent film. They're like, what about this one over here? And then she points back to the wall. one that she wants and then kind of leaves in a huff, essentially, is what it seems like. I think at the end of the day, everyone will benefit from this just fucking going away and not I'm getting to the bottom of it. I mean, because when I saw it, I was like, I think the fun part was that, I think the fun thing
44:46 was that a rise to a level where Pablo Torre is like, all right, guys, let me fucking get to the bottom of this. Yeah. Which was like, I think the funnier moments are sort of where we're at culturally, because Pablo is like the bringer of pop culture truths recently. Yeah. So from there, I'm like, okay, great. But at the end, I don't feel more or less.
45:04 My feelings don't change about the situation based on even what I've seen. I'm like, I don't know. He doesn't seem to be rude. She doesn't seem to be like necessarily like on some kind of tirade or something. So if I had to guess, which I do, it seems like the main transgression is that they don't know that it's Kelly Clarkson. And like, so they're not giving your Kelly Clarkson energy. Sure, sure.
45:24 Which I sympathize with because I'm. very bad at recognizing one, like I'm in the same room with a celebrity. Like the number one thing, exchange between my wife and I as always, did you know who that was, right? And you're like, the bartender?
45:40 The person with the huge head? I mean, I guess I have trouble relating to the idea that she'd want to be treated like a celebrity, just because I, you know, I have a very minor amount of celebrity. And when I'm walking around the world,
45:53 I am not thinking about that ever. Right. Anytime someone says to me, oh, hey, I like, oh, cool. Or a person behind the counter is like, you know, oh, hey, I like your thing. And then they, I don't know, they give me a free cookie or some shit or whatever. I'm like, oh, how nice. I never. Because in real life, you are a real person.
46:11 Like, you can't walk around thinking I'm a pop star every single moment, you know. I think the big thing was because it was the energy of her tweet that set it off. What was the energy of the tweet? It was just like, if you want to be treated like, you know, like trash, go to this store. Oh, she's so mad. And that was a thing that was just sort of like, and they acted like, I couldn't afford it. Well, they just like, way to go, dummy. You just lost a sale.
46:33 Do not go here. And I think because of that, that was sort of the inciting incident that kicked everything. And then the store released statements and stuff. They're like, we're getting review bomb. There's a woman outside on like the day after with like a, I stand with Kelly Clarkson's inside outside of the toy store. So it was just like a whole thing. And I think that's probably because of all these things that happened, everyone's like, huh?
46:54 Okay. Big celebrity wallet. But also, it's good for the store, no? Like, ultimately, to be part of a silly store. Because it's not like anything really dangerous happened to them. Yeah, no time about like racism or like harassment or anything like that. There's like a criminal going on outside of like hurt egos. Yeah.
47:10 So I think I have a feeling. I mean, like the owner said. Foot traffic's got to be up. Foot traffic's got to be up. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Yeah. That's great. Like, again, could have been viral marketing for the store.
47:21 100%. I mean, I've been seeing this thing on my own TikTok that's gone. pretty big on TikTok where a woman brought a Roli Flex vintage camera to a camera shop. And that was her grandmother's. And the guy repairs it. And then she's like, looks at the new one. It looks at the camera. She's like, this is not my camera.
47:36 Like, you swapped out my camera. And this woman has done like four videos at this point of like long conversations with the guy where he's like, no, no, I had to fix it. And she's like, well, this is, there's a scratch here where there wasn't. And the comments are like, he stole, he probably, he stole it. He replaced your camera with a different one. At this point, this has been going on for days. Yeah. She has referred to the fact that, like, ABC News has been in the store.
47:57 Right. The guy is continuing to, like, be in long videos where he's trying to explain. And I'm going, like, I've shifted from who's right and who's wrong to, is this real? Yeah, right. What is the point? Because why is the store participating in this? And it, like, allows him to be like, I mean, it's crazy. It looks new.
48:19 Yeah. I mean, it's just like it's brand new. I had to repair it. And by repairing, I have to replace parts. that aren't this operation, viral marketing. And the whole thing is, it never comes to, the Raleleyflexus, viral. And it never comes to a resolution.
48:33 So you just continually watch waiting for the piece of information that's going to solve it for you. That is so much of how, like, social media content is constructed of sort of like, there's so many videos that like wait till the end. And there's fucking nothing. Oh, yeah, yeah. Just to be like, got your ass,
48:47 because I see that watch time. You know what I mean? I can see that same sort of that thinking or that strategy playing out in a video like that where it's like, I better, I better check in on the mundane thing I was invested in. Yeah. There's no bearing on my life or society at large. But yeah, I guess it's fun to get invested in something that's that small, you know.
49:04 Oh, yeah, yeah. Like, it's a little distraction. I guess any time you see on TikTok or anything else, if there's like a cop and a person in an altercation, you immediately go, who's wrong? Yeah, yeah, yeah. Who is the cop being an asshole or is the person being actually, you know, being crazy? Like actually breaking the law. Yeah, right. Um, we just have this urge.
49:21 Yeah. I feel like Kelly Clarkson was undercover bossing it. Here, I feel like she, do you undercover boss it as somebody who with, with some fame? Do you, do you go out? Try it with, like, hat on. Like, go around my own employees and be like, hey.
49:37 Wait, what do you do today? I'm just like one of you. Check out my barbed wire tattoo. Anyways, we're going to keep reporting on this. There's going to be another. I know this is going to keep going. It's going to. The fact that pop,
49:55 they're going to bring Jamboy and the guy who reads lips. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. So here's, yeah, Johnboy media. And you can see here, and he clearly says this, he's narrating along. Oh, my God. What do you mean?
50:06 It's not for sale. Ma'am, I told you, this isn't for sale. Well, I have the money. It's not about money. You actually don't have enough money to buy this because it's not for sale. Oh, I don't have money. That also feels like a thing, too,
50:18 where they go, you actually don't have enough money. Right. Didn't they say they raised the price on this thing now? Yeah, they did raise the price. So this is one thing that I'm like, oh, you guys are playing into this because they are on one hand being like, we just want to go back to how it was before. They're like, they're like threatening us. They're making me scared. And then they're like, oh, and also we raise the price on that motherfucker to $15 million.
50:37 Oh, yeah. Well, that's a collector's item now. That's like Sutherbees is going to be auctioning that. Oh, yeah. The famous animatronic chicken or whatever the fuck it is. Hopefully my grandchildren for my 90th birthday. They buy me that. They go, we thought.
50:50 you'd like this father, father. Papa. Is that the Kelly Clarkson, bird? Suddenly have a British accent. I was thinking, like, I mean, they haven't had a brick through the window. They might get a brick through the window and somebody going in to steal that fucking bird. Oh, yeah, they got it. It was like the new crown jewels of American trash pop culture.
51:09 They need a security guard. Yeah, absolutely. Let's take a quick break. Okay. We'll come back and talk Pringles. Okay. Oh, I'm so excited. Pringles.

55:21 Those are the very people who I always. say vote against their own economic interests and they complain about the very thing they're receiving. It's raw. I knew that the issue of transgender athletes was not going well with a lot of black men. Roland Martin unfiltered. I went off, I said, this is exactly what I'm talking about. 56:20 In the run up to the midterm elections, it's, you know, Democrats, Republicans. out there making their cases to the people. We focus mostly on national politics. And you forget, it's easy to forget that the real fun is at the local level, not just for how your community can change for the better, but also the kinds, because, you know, there's a little bit of a filter you have to pass to get on the national stage. Local, it's about the people.
56:49 Unfiltered. And in this case, in Indiana. Unfiltered Reds. In this Indiana City Council race, this one, woman named Jamie West. She seems to have a backstory like a lot of new candidates, people who are new to politics that decided to run given what's happening with this administration. You know, she's a mom, she does gig work and she cares about her local community and the environment. And that inspired her candidacy. And so she had the chance to talk to local news recently and get in front of voters.
57:15 And shit was a little, people think she's wasted. Right. I think that's the big thing. People think she's wasted. However, I got to say, everything she's saying, it's like one of these things where Everything she's saying, people are like, no lies detected, though. Right. She may be wasted, but I agree. I agree. So this is a clip. It's like, legend of drunken master, but like for politics where she just like gets up there and she's like, yeah, this is what I need to get to.
57:39 She starts off with like a forest gump like line. She's like, and that's all I have to say about that. Yes. So we're, she's finishing. I watched the whole thing, which is also very interesting because the first question is like, why should people trust you as a city council? She's like, I do gig work. And I deliver a lot of groceries. If you trust me to deliver your groceries,
58:00 you trust me to be the city council. And you're like, all right, all right. Okay, I'm cool with that. So this is where she goes on now. She's asked a question, you'll hear. She has a little trouble understanding it, but then gets going and finally delivers the real answer. So here's Jamie West, Democratic candidate in Indiana.
58:21 Oh, my God. Just from her pose, you can tell. This is her going, and that's all I got to say about that. posture is the yoga pose beer burp. If I look like this, I wish I could go home and go to bed. I'm too drunk at the bar. Glasses off around your neck. So here we go. Jamie West, take it away.
58:39 And that's what I have to say about that. That was the opening. And our last question of the night is, if elected, what is one decision that you expect to make that may be unpopular with some voters, but you believe ultimately would be in the best interest of Fayette County? I wouldn't raise your taxes what is the one decision that I would make hmm uh-huh take your time repeat that again what is the one decision that I would make
59:08 that might not be popular right that may be unpopular with some voters but is in the best interest of the county here we go firing all Republicans I wouldn't let them I mean I don't even talk to him. I don't like him. I mean, they voted against our
59:29 own state representative voted against her own party. I mean... Yeah, I'm not sure what that was about. What do you want me to say? I don't like being around them. I mean... He's doing the thing that when you're so drunk,
59:44 you're hoping just your facial expressions are going to get the communication across because you don't have the words to be like, I mean, what do you want me to say these people are fascists? They're opening the door to have our neighbors taking which. Like, I mean, I don't like them. And they're just like,
59:57 you just got to get out of here. So I need to see another interview with her. I know people like this who are just kind of seem drunk all the time. Yeah. No, I do wonder. Before you say, I'm like what she could have a... A lot of people weren't like the person who first posted this on Twitter is like,
01:00:13 I was trying to find any information if she had any kind of like neurological condition or anything. I didn't want to just jump into this and be like, check this shit out. They said they couldn't find anything. So they're not going to speculate, but they were just like, this is just a wild interview regardless. Because she goes on later on to talk about, you know, like Democrats are strapped to. I think her closing statement, they're like, what's your closing statement? She gives like an equally long, like pause and then here. We'll hear her closing statement because this is where she's, that got a lot of headlines.
01:00:46 And Republicans are like, oh, this is really bad for the Democrats. We get it. You know, there are good Republicans out there. But then there's these maggots who are just racist and aren't very intelligent at all. They call you names. You don't share nephew's trying to blow my head off. But, you know, what are you going to do? Well, that brings us to your opportunity to say just a few last words to the voters.
01:01:18 Amazing supporting work by the interviewer, by the way. Last words. We have guns, too. Tell them. In Indiana, definitely. What's your close statement? We got guns too. I think I sold them all.
01:01:36 I love where she's like, you know, it's so good Republicans. But there's these Magas. The sheriff's nephew threatened to blow my head off. Is that related to MAGA or did you? The sheriff's nephew? I mean, the thing is, you know, it's like, Which she's so specific
01:01:51 One of those things where again, I'm watching like Yeah I mean yeah I get it Purge the Republicans in the office I understand that impulse I understand that you're saying like yeah These people are actually the architects or they've Rarrod this terrible wave of American governance In 2026 into our lives
01:02:07 But she also just says like some really interesting shit She was asked earlier about data centers Yeah and she was like I'm against them Because I'm an environmentalist They're bad And then she's like Then she's like, well, what would it take for you to accept the construction of a data center in your county? She goes, well, what would it take?
01:02:27 They got to pay for everything. First of all. And she's like, well, it's like everything. Like you got to make sure everything's clean. Like the energy, it's got to be solar. It can't be bad, dirty energy. Then the water they use, it can't be water we need. They got to figure out how to do that without taking our water.
01:02:44 Also, they need to give every resident in the county a $10,000. annual payment for having the data data center. Okay. I'm like talking points. Then she goes, then I want college tuition guaranteed for every child that Garrett graduates from the local high school. And I was like, and she was wasted.
01:03:02 Whatever was going on. That's awesome. Like she knew how to be like, what's it going to take? Well, it better be transformational for the benefit of every person who lives here. And I was like, it's odd to see like,
01:03:13 you know, because you see like racist people end up running for office for the Republicans, obviously. and they don't really know much except like they don't like foreigners or gay people or something. And that's all they have. This woman is kind of someone like she doesn't know all the technicalities of governance, but she knows something's deeply wrong. Yeah.
01:03:33 And there's a better way to do it. So I'm kind of like, yeah, all right. Like I hope this isn't a milkshake duck situation where we find out something else after the fact. Impossible. But she seems sturdy. I just love, I love your sentiment. I love where you're coming from. Yeah.
01:03:46 And you're saying, what's it going to take? Give everybody everything for free. And I'm like, yeah. Yeah, well, we need a little corporate socialism. They got to pay into the thing. We got to create a sovereign wealth fund. Yeah. Right.
01:04:00 Like, that's wonderful. You know, there's a lady at the end of the bar, at the end of the night. She's a little, you want to be dismissive. And then you realize, oh, she's lived to life. She's actually spitting fast. Yeah. She knows. Yeah.
01:04:10 Instead of means testing, we just do, like, blackout testing. Right. They just like democratic ideas go through a filter of people who are just like, What do I do about it? We got guns to. So she is. She ain't scared. So you know what, Jamie West?
01:04:25 I'm really curious to see how your candidacy ends up. And finally, we got to talk Pringles. That's what you're here for. I can't wait. They've announced a surprisingly ghoulish contest. It's called Once You Drop. This is real. So, you know.
01:04:43 This is real. This is real. It's rare the junk food brands. Are we participating in stunt marketing right now? We are. Did they do something so outlandish that they're trying to get guys like you to describe it on podcasts? They did.
01:04:54 They got my ass. Goddammit. Jack wants a platinum bringles can, I think, for his house. And I'm just saying, why not me? Is this going to be like a hands-on-a-hard-body situation? Is it like... It's sort of you have to let that, you have to sign over something that they're calling your last will and tastement.
01:05:15 So do you see what they've done there? What does that mean? Instead of will and testament. Oh, tastement. Yeah, will entastement. And that allows them to bury you in an iconic platinum pringles can. Oh, you can get buried in a pringles can?
01:05:32 You have to agree to be buried in a pringles can. And then you get to be buried in a pringles can. And you also get a afterlife supply of chips. After lifetime. After lifetime. Wait, I'm sorry. The promotion is
01:05:48 if you agree to be buried, you have to agree to be buried in a Bringles can, and then what you get is you get to be buried in a Pringles can. And chips.
01:05:58 After you're dead? Yeah. What is the? No, you get the chips right away. Is it just free Pringles coffins? Is that what's going on? What's happening? So this actually,
01:06:08 there's a old piece of lore that's actually true that the Pringles creator, Lawrence Bauer, had was pre-made and had part of his remains placed in a Pringle's container. That was his last Will and Testament. And they had to be like, that's actually not true
01:06:26 because there were a lot of rumors that, like, he, his remains were in Pringles. Like, and so they had to be like, no, no, no, no, no, no, no. But now they're like, fuck it, man. This is what, this is what marketing has come to. You're eating old Larry Bauer dust. We can't get Kelly Clarkson to get into a feud with us.
01:06:45 So this is what we have to do. A little bit of Larry's in every can of Pringles. A little Larry. That would be great of like Dave Thomas was in all the Wendy's burgers a little bit. Right. They just grind him up and just like a little couple miles. Was Dave Thomas a good guy? I always worry about like old grandpa white people from the 80s that I thought were nice.
01:07:02 So he was a, so if you look him up, he was considered a good guy because he adopted so many children. But he adopted so many. any children that you're like, that's too many. You know, of all very diverse children, you adopt, like many, many kids. I think he was, I think he was a nice guy in the old Christian guy
01:07:23 mold. Sure, sure, sure, sure. Like 40s, 50s, people are like, there goes the nicest guy I know. And now people are like, hmm. Oh, because he was adopted. Oh. How about that? So good for him. Wait, was Wendy adopted?
01:07:38 Was Wendy? No way to know, Jack. no way to know. Wendy was his daughter, I believe. Yeah. Lied to? Yeah. Is there another product with a more iconic container? That's what, that's ultimately, I think.
01:07:51 We were talking about the Diet Cook. Martinelli's apple juice. Martinelli's apple juice is a good one. In the apple bottle. Yeah. Comes in an apple bottle? Yeah, the glass bottle. That's shaped like an apple.
01:08:00 I've never seen that once in my life. Oh, really? It's not as iconic as cringles, but it's a great pool. You're not, you're not raising a bunch of your kids. Okay, okay. I love a bit of martinelli's in the glass bottle. Also, I grew up, that was like the one thing. I couldn't have soda.
01:08:15 I could have Martinelli's apple juice. Oh, wow. So I drink soda every day now. That was what we would drink in, like, on Christmas for Christmas dinner, and like a crystal goblet, me and my sister would drink. It was always kids champagne for sure. Yeah. What else?
01:08:29 I think Big League Chew coming out to tobacco pouch. Nothing else. I love how the Big League Chew has the whole story written on it where it's like, you know, baseball players were chewing too much tobacco. And so we came up with this bubble gum that looks exactly like tobacco. Yeah. For the kids. Yeah. And that's an early way of introducing them.
01:08:52 Yeah. I mean, the Coca-Cola bottle is like the most iconic, unfortunately. Yeah. Yeah. That shape. What I think is funny about Bringles is everyone loves that can. No one talks about how the chips are bad. They're bad chips.
01:09:06 Yeah. They're the only potato chips you can buy that aren't. aren't fried slices of potato. Like every other potato chip is like they take a fucking potato chip. They're deconstructed. Yeah. They are they are reassembled.
01:09:17 They are the particle board of, you know, they're the IKEA laminated. Particle board potato chip. Yeah. Because it's like pink goo for potato chip. I like my potato chips to melt in my mouth. Like even if you buy fucking lays,
01:09:33 lays is like they just took potatoes and fried. Yeah, you look at it and you're like, that looks like a potato. Whereas that, Pringles are its own thing. It's like its own substance. Yeah. Every time I see them, though, like, I think the original ones suck.
01:09:47 Like, I will never eat a regular. It has to be flavor. It has to be the only things I can really, with pringles that I like have the flavor. The regular ones, I think it's so jarring. Yeah. I'm like, this isn't a fucking potato chip. Yeah.
01:09:59 And I think the main one is greens like a sour cream and onion you'd get. Yeah, that's a good one. Okay. I think that's the only good one. So, so they, so they, So they reconstructed the Pringle in that particular shape so that they could all stack and fit in a can. Yeah.
01:10:13 Why is that good? Like, why do I particularly want to eat chips out of a can that are in a column? Like, I understand it's iconic. I understand we like the look of it. But, like, how is that better than a bag? They don't get, they don't get messed up. They don't get all cracked up and crushed in a bag. What if the potato was really long?
01:10:31 Which was just really long. That's the question that it asks. And I think it's also just good marketing, too. Because suddenly, every, they're like, I'm sure the guy, Lawrence Bowers, like, every asshole's putting chips in a bag. What we're going to do is we're going to chew up a bunch of potato chips, spit that out, and then flatten them into our own chip paste, then put that in a can. And everyone's going to be talking about this crap. Because that's what it, that's sort of feels like masticated potato chips that were repressed for your enjoyment. Right.
01:10:59 You think the, you think the Pringles guy and the Monopoly Man are married? Are they ever fucked? I think they're definitely in a thruple with the National Bohemian guy too. The can't the Baltimore, the Maryland beer, Natty Bo, also has a very similar Pringle-esque face. I don't know this brand. It's a very regional. Look, Zite Gang from out there. Chesapeake Zite Gang, let him know, Natty Bo.
01:11:26 Yeah, it has here. Let me just show you. I'd love to see this. The image is like this. He's kind of like the Pringle's guy. Oh, yeah. Look at that. Oh, yeah, there he is.
01:11:37 Oh, wait. What about Utt's potato chips? Is there a Utt's guy? Oh, maybe that's a little girl. Oh, yeah, maybe. I think it's a little girl. Yeah, it's a girl, yep, yep, yep. Okay.
01:11:49 Yeah, they all have very, they all seem like they're from the weird family of all one-dimensional faces. You know, beer a moretti, the Moretti beer guy, a mustached guy who appears to be crying in his beer. Isn't he wearing a hat? Yeah. Yeah, so all the mustached lonely men. from labels. They all get together.
01:12:07 It's like a TikTok house. Trying to figure out how to get their shit going again. Oh, yes, you left me. Trust me, but we got to hit this dance, right? I'm telling you, it's the scuba, right? Fuck, she was right. I'm a fucking loser. Only other food I can think of with a more iconic container is banana.
01:12:32 Okay. Yeah, it's there. Banana. All right. Judges? Yeah, okay. We're going to accept that. Just so we can end to the episode.
01:12:41 Adam Conover, such a pleasure having you. Thanks for having me, guys. Where can people find you, follow you? Once again, a special is called Big Divorce Energy. It's on my YouTube channel. Just search Adam Conover on YouTube. October 23rd is the day that comes out.
01:12:55 Please watch it. And same place you can get my podcast. I do like video monologue. I do like vlogs and stuff like that. And I am going to be, on the road. We're going to be dropping tour dates right after the special comes out. But I can say, first of all, I'm going to like Vermont in November. It's going to Burlington.
01:13:14 I'm going to Eugene Oregon. Those are already on the books. And then we're doing like Seattle and like Fort Lauderdale, a bunch of other cities. So go to Adam Conover.comnet in a little bit to check out my tour dates. Man, Vermont. That's a never. I never thought of people going to Vermont. I'm really excited for it.
01:13:30 You go to the Burlington Comedy Club. It's a make good because I had to cancel a, a spot I had there like a year and a half ago. And I was like, oh, but the club is supposed to be so good. And I want to go to Vermont in the fall. Yeah, yeah, yeah. I feel like I'm going to have a great time. I'm going to meet Bernie.
01:13:45 I don't, wow. Oh, wow. Is your stand-up comedy is excellent. Is there a work of media you've been enjoying? A work of, a work of media. Video game. Oh, a video game. Social media posts.
01:13:58 Um, I just finished the game, a big walk with my friends. Have you played the game, walk. Oh, this game is so special. So it's a game where you and your friends all log in simultaneously, so you have to play it together. And you play as these little ant-like creatures in like a big open world. And you can only hear each other when you're close to each other, right? And so it's really easy to get lost. Like if you walk away from your friends and the sun goes down and it's dark, you're like, I might never find them again until you find a walkie-talkie or like a flare gun or something
01:14:31 like that. And then you roam around the world and you solve puzzles together. And the puzzles are all based around communicating. You know, it'd like lock you in a room and you have to figure out how to use arm movements in order to solve a code. And basically it's a game that is about it makes you sit and talk to your friends and have like a fun time. It's like, it's like summer camp games. It'll make you feel like you're having summer camp. And if you have friends who you want to hang out with and you want to, Hey, let's have, so me and some old college humor buddies put together like a weekly, every Tuesday night at seven, we play this game. Nice. Yeah, big walk.
01:15:08 And it's just, it's so wholesome and wonderful and a really innovative. It feels a lot like if you, if you remember the first time you played Portal or another game where it's like it feels new but also so obvious. Yeah, yeah. It's like I already know how to play it. Yeah, like where you know how to play it already too. Yep. Yep. It's really, really good.
01:15:27 Big walk. Nice. There you go. Miles where can people find you as their work in media? You've been enjoying it. Yeah, find me everywhere at Miles of Gray. I'm talking about 90-day fiancé on 420-day fiancé, also talking about the Premier League, Champions League football on Ain't It Footie
01:15:41 with Jamel Johnson and Chris Martin. A working media I like from Kyle Ayers, one of our favorite guests, posted on Blue Sky. I hate when I come up with an incredible idea and then I find out it's already been done, it just happened to me with 6-7. I can't believe someone beat me to it. God, damn it. It just happened to me with six seconds.
01:16:06 It's also funny to post that like pretty much exactly a year after P. Yeah, yeah, yeah. It's all about timing. Amazing. Work from Kyle. I've been enjoying somebody retweeted the 30 Rock homonym games. Do you remember that? Where it's a game show where they're like, okay, stare.
01:16:27 And they're like, okay. the thing you walk, nope, it's the other one. It's just so flucking great. So go watch those. That'll give you a brief moment of respite. You can find me on Twitter, Jack underscore O'Brien, Blue Sky, Jack OB1, Instagram, Jack underscore O underscore Brian.

01:17:02 Miles, is there a song that you think that people might enjoy? Yeah, this is a track from the producer Stoic, who's done stuff, like produced stuff for like Dochi or Mick Jenkins, a bunch of really great artists. This is Stoic featuring Mick Jenkins. And the track is called Heat Up. And Stoics, like, production style,
01:17:20 like it feels like sample-based kind of like sort of hip-hoppy production, but there's a lot of real instruments being played, but just sort of assembled. in a way that gives you that very familiar kind of boom-bap-y, sort of new agey feel. This is a great track. So check it out. It's called Heat Up Stoic featuring Mick Jenkins. All right.
