Hello, the Internet, and welcome to this episode of The Divine Zeit of Kings,
courtesy of Johnny Davis, at JohnnyDevi5 on Twitter, blessing us with the short show title.
I'm Jack. That over there, well, that's Miles Gray.
Hi, Miles.
Hey.
How are you doing?
Good. Check me out on Behind the Bastards today, where you can hear part one of Robert and
I talking about Clarence Thomas.
Why don't you guys just get married then?
I mean, Jack, if you listen to episode four, you might get a little salty.
By part four, Robert and I are fully just ideating new shows, new cool handshakes, new
outfits we can wear.
Dude, wear a Dodger hat. hat yeah we're both wearing dodger hats
yeah so in your face robert like see you wear a dodger's hat um all right that would actually be
the most jarring thing i think robert wearing a dot i would be like what yeah but what happened
bro and like are you Do you need help?
Nothing. Everything's good.
Everything's good, friendo.
Let's go to see the baseball match.
The Dodgers are my favorite squad run.
One of the most unapologetically sports...
Just doesn't know anything about sports.
But is not annoying about it.
It's not like, sports ball time? ball time but he just he's always like yes of course damn um all right well miles yeah uh
here's some things that are trending a uh garland has said he's open to prosecuting uh donald trump
who used to be our president you remember that you've seen this um and uh the the big headlines on drudge garland open to prosecuting trump georgia danger um so
i don't know i guess people are thinking maybe there might be consequences in these united
states for a rich person this will be the theme for the next fucking year.
There might be consequences.
I feel like that's the phase we're in in history right now,
where there might be consequences.
Although everyone seems to agree that the Georgia investigation
seems to put him at the most tangible risk at the moment.
Why? Because he blatantly tried to overturn the election
yeah and there's like fake electors and like they're like starting to flip too so they're
like yeah he like called me and told me i mean like i feel like this is very interesting this
is cool this is an interesting idea where you find the electors and isn't he on on a call saying
find find me this many votes yeah yeah that yeah. Yeah, it's pretty straightforward.
But you never know.
You never know.
Anyway, watch this space.
OAN.
Don't watch that space because you can't anymore.
RIP to OAN.
Sorry.
One American news.
You thought you flew too close to to the mega sun with your conspiracy theories
and all that and now finally we were touching on this uh like last week saying look man fucking
direct tv said fuck out of here and if they lose again if they lose verizon they are going to be
absolutely wiped off the face of like what we know as modern cable television,
which is a great thing.
So shout outs to,
I just want to read what the,
one of the anchors said on OAN as like,
they're,
they're grappling with the idea that their time is like running out on
Verizon.
Like I think at the end of the month,
uh,
he said over the last few years,
we've watched this countless independent free thinking and conservative
organizations were shut down and censored by the radical left.
Regrettably, that toxic cancel culture is still alive and well.
And it's coming after one American news.
Beginning July 30th, Verizon has decided it will no longer carry OAN.
You can imagine why.
Now we've had a lot of questions from our loyal customers.
And we want to give you some answers and help you understand what's going on and what to expect in the future.
And then they just go on
to call verizon like a bunch of marxists which is yep yeah all right yeah verizon they'd already
made their decision because verizon like many radical marxist corporations marxist corporation
corporation hell yeah okay biden anarchist yeah put them all together like wow geez i'm crow donny
what is that can't even come with the horizon so um yeah they're no more i've always been at&t
marxist uh but and found horizon to be much more leninist but i'm much more of a jp morgan marxist jp marxist that's wild uh did did oan
like kind of pop up how how long have they been a thing i feel like for like a few years like
they really rose to prominence like the last 18 months of the trump campaign like truly truly
truly because that's when they were like q anon we fucking love it um but it started in like i
think 2013 or something like that yeah um all right and then you wanted to say a fond farewell
to sandwich tiktok guy sandwich tiktok guy yeah i this is one of the rare things where you bring
it to my attention uh and i don't get it one of the rare things i know look this one
is about tiktok and this is if anybody goes on tiktok and you and the algorithms like hey you
like food right because we're spying on you there's this one account of this italian dude
who's making sandwiches in this place called i monty latari in uh naples and he's just taking
out freshly baked fucking rolls he's making people sandwiches
they're super simple but like a lot of time like i was watching because i'm like i've never seen
someone just so like inelegantly pile beautiful ingredients into between two pieces of bread
or like you know call me i guess uh spoiled in the.S. I'm used to something called sandwich artistry.
Right.
And what he's doing is just slamming shit into the bread.
Just kind of like, here's your prosciutto.
Flop.
There's just shit hanging off the sides.
It's a mess, man.
Just cutting the buffalo mozzarella and squeezing the water out a little bit.
Just as if he's wringing out a lemon or something.
And the ingredients look good. So I'm like, oh, shit, I would eat the shit out of that,
because I have also learned that like things put together just chaotically don't necessarily mean
it doesn't taste good. The ingredients are right, then it'll taste good. But so this was going viral
for a while. But the owners of the store, like he announced like a couple of days ago that he's not
going to be making TikToks anymore and for people who are
bilingual they were able to glean
that it sounds like his bosses
have become pissed off
because there's a bunch of TikTok fucking
tourists pulling up to their like local
shop and exactly
triple T's T cubed and they're saying
it's displacing the regulars
so they're like
knock it off knock off this tiktok shit and then now
well in true american fashion the fans of the tiktok guy are now bombing their like google
reviews page with one star reviews being like the fucking owners suck this guy's a fucking gem
um you should have franchised you should have just franchised it
fuck your regulars just franchise open 40 locations and have them all be mediocre um
speaking of mediocre though man like i don't i feel like you're exclusively watching this guy's
videos when you're very hungry because this does i'm not saying i'm like these are the best
sandwiches i've ever seen i'm just saying like oh it's different and it like it's always like
fresh mozzarella or like other ingredients but i'm also just kind of like man how the fuck is
gonna be violating the ingredients like it doesn't feel like you just give a fuck about the sandwich
you make and then i'm like and then i look at it as like, oh, that's just a different sandwich philosophy.
Right.
All right.
Yeah.
I mean, part of me suspects that you just pretended that you were into this story so you could say the location of the deli in an Italian accent.
Get that little flair.
Why would I do that?
Why would I do that?
Oh, and it's too hard to believe.
I would be dumb fucking high out of my skull looking at TikTok
being like, yo, this shitty sandwich look good as fuck.
All things can be true.
That's true.
All right, let's take a quick break.
We'll be right back.
I'm Jess Casavetto, executive producer of the hit Netflix documentary series,
Dancing for the Devil, the 7M TikTok cult.
And I'm Clea Gray, former member of 7M Films and Shekinah Church.
And we're the host of the new podcast, Forgive Me For I Have Followed.
Together, we'll be diving even deeper into the unbelievable stories behind 7M Films
and LA-based Shekinah Church, an alleged cult that has impacted members for over two
decades. Jessica and I will delve into the hidden truths between high control groups and interview
dancers, church members, and others whose lives and careers have been impacted, just like mine.
Through powerful, in-depth interviews with former members and new, chilling first-hand accounts,
the series will illuminate untold and extremely necessary perspectives.
Forgive Me For I Have Followed will be more than an exploration.
It's a vital revelation aimed at ensuring these types of abuses never happen again.
Listen to Forgive Me For I Have Followed on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts.
Hey, I'm Gianna Pradente.
And I'm Jemay Jackson-Gadsden.
We're the hosts of Let's Talk Offline, a new podcast from LinkedIn News and iHeart Podcasts.
When you're just starting out in your career, you have a lot of questions.
Like, how do I speak up when I'm feeling overwhelmed?
Or, can I negotiate a higher salary if this is my first real job?
Girl, yes.
Each week, we answer your unfiltered work questions.
Think of us as your work besties you can turn to for advice. And if we don't know the answer,
we bring in experts who do, like resume specialist Morgan Santer. The only difference between the
person who doesn't get the job and the person who gets the job is usually who applies. Yeah,
I think a lot about that quote. What is it? Like you miss 100% of the shots you never take? Yeah. Rejection is scary, but it's better than you rejecting yourself.
Together, we'll share what it really takes to thrive in the early years of your career
without sacrificing your sanity or sleep. Listen to Let's Talk Offline on the iHeartRadio app,

I'm Keri Champion, and this is season four of Naked Sports, where we live at the intersection of sports and culture.
Up first, I explore the making of a rivalry, Kaitlyn Clark versus Angel Reese.
I know I'll go down in history.
People are talking about women's basketball just because of one single game.
Every great player needs a foil.
I ain't really near them.
Why is that?
Just come here and play basketball every single day,
and that's what I focus on.
From college to the pros,
Clark and Reese have changed the way we consume women's sports.
Angel Reese is a joy to watch.
She is unapologetically black.
I love her.
What exactly ignited this fire?
Why has it been so good for the game?
And can the fanfare surrounding these
two supernovas be sustained? This game is only going to get better because the talent is getting
better. This new season will cover all things sports and culture. Listen to Naked Sports on
the Black Effect Podcast Network, iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts.
The Black Effect Podcast Network is sponsored by Diet Coke. This summer, the nation
watched as the Republican nominee for president was the target of two assassination attempts
separated by two months. These events were mirrored nearly 50 years ago when President
Gerald Ford faced two attempts on his life in less than three weeks. President Gerald R. Ford
came stunningly close
to being the victim of an assassin today.
And these are the only two times we know of
that a woman has tried to assassinate a U.S. president.
One was the protege of infamous cult leader Charles Manson.
I always felt like Lynette was kind of his right-hand woman.
The other, a middle-aged housewife
working undercover for the FBI
in a violent, revolutionary
underground. Identified
by police as Sarah Jean Moore.
The story of one strange
and violent summer. This
is Rip Current. Available
now with new episodes every Thursday.
Listen on the iHeartRadio
app, Apple Podcasts,
or wherever you get your podcasts.
And we're back.
And the United States now leads globally in known monkeypox
cases. The headline
known monkeypox cases
might be that testing is
more up on the game here, but
it's not going great.
It is, you know, it
seems like, I
guess the World Health Organization
just declared it an international
emergency.
They did their monthly meeting.
The first one, they were like, I don't know.
Let's not get too...
We're keeping our eye on it.
And then at the last one they're like oh that
that went predictably bad let's uh but yeah cases have continued to climb um and the vaccine rollout
has uh been again not great and the the way it's being messaged around, you know, the gay and trans community has also not been great.
And like they would not release a picture of what it looked like on, you know, non-white skin for a long time, which is also problematic.
But we've seen this before with very homophobic descriptions.
Because in the beginning, I felt like the medical community was like,
it's only going to affect men who have sex with men.
And almost use that logic to silo it as if it's less of a problem.
And that's not the mainstream.
So don't worry about it.
So we're good here, right?
Yeah.
And now medical professionals, just to be clear, so don't worry about it so we're good here right yeah and now like you know the like you know
medical professionals like just just to be clear this is not considered a sexually transmitted
disease that's not i mean like it can happen because like close skin to skin contact is a
way to transmit it or being like very up in somebody's face and respiratory droplets can
lead to it but this isn't something that means like you are having sex and that's why you're getting it which and initially like i feel like the cdc was like what if you no one had sex
or hung out with people as a way to get around the lack of vaccines and now yeah the vaccine
rollout has just been like awful uh and like just inconsistent and like we said when we first
talking about this we're already fucking up this major
pandemic and now we're dealing with another
disease that needs to be addressed quickly
and it's just
it's not a great
not a great example of what we can do
here in America
Instagram is trending
I don't know why
because people hate it right now
are you on Instagram a lot?
And then you go, what the fuck?
Almost never.
Okay, that's true.
Oh, sorry.
That wasn't helpful.
You were going to give an example.
The others do know what I'm saying,
which is there's so many more reels.
They're always trying to push videos on you
where half the time you can see
a baked-in TikTok watermark into it
where people are just merely reposting TikToks
on Instagram for views.
And they're trying to do
all of these things to look more like
TikTok to the point where like
you know power users like
the Kardashians are like this IG
fucking sucks like what the fuck is this
and the head of Instagram
Adam Mosseri who like he put a video
out and he's basically like look it's gonna
suck for a while
because we believe the future is fucking video and that's what's kind of interesting to me is
I feel like the people the reason people are pushing back is because they like pictures
and I get that the market data that informs a lot of decision making for these places is like
dude video video video like
videos are popping off look tiktok beats y'all to the punch i don't really look at tiktok as social
media like i don't look at tiktok as a way i share my personal life like with others that follow me
like on tiktok i look at tiktok to me is like youtube i'm like yo what kind of weird shit can
i see on here whereas instagram feels more of like this intimate connection thing and i think as they move towards this like content
version it's we're losing something in that like it used to be like the less fucked up version of
facebook where i could scroll and then see like some random people from like high school be like
oh look they got married or like oh look at this person doing their thing right um and it's yeah it's i think
it's just being a bit of it's a hassle for the for the for the picture lovers on instagram well as
you know anybody who works at instagram and their parent company meta would know a pivot to video
has never gone wrong no so no going all in on video not a problem i mean i feel like they've been that way for a long time
but it's just tiktok came out and was better at it than them yeah and well and it also just goes
to show right everything's such a fucking contest and dick measuring contest to be like oh they're
fucking tiktok's the newest thing we got to be fucking better than that and yeah and meanwhile
people like we don't use instagram for that right like
right that we like i don't know again i'm a elder millennial using instagram very specifically or
not specifically but like stories were the height of what you could do with video on instagram i
think as most people appreciated it and i think the people who are on tiktok were seeking something
different so to then be like hey this different thing that you guys aren't that interested in it's this now i don't know if that's the best strategy but what
it's a good compare contrast with the uh sandwich tiktok guys deli you know they saw too much success
i saw success and we're like knock it off because you're making it awkward around here um instagram saw so you know tiktok's success and
we're like we have to imitate it like and now right that sandwich tiktok guys deli if they
were smart would have launched their own social media platform uh just you know where people can
upload videos of sloppy sandos and sloppy steaks oh come on tim robinson bring us a new social media platform
just call sloppy meals and people just post their slop meals okay free idea again yeah i don't view
tiktok as a social media platform i view it as a babysitter exclusively and i just let the kids
uh frictionlessly slide down the content hole exactly um. And it usually, you know, I'd say like 30%
of the time it's pretty much
appropriate. Yeah. Then the other
66.67% of the time
it ends up going to Nazi stuff.
Yeah. Like TikTok does. But whatever.
Kids are into that stuff. Why?
I don't know. My kids are on this damn
Nazi stuff. Kids are really into
like Oklahoma City
bombing conspiracy sites
that think
Obama did it.
And then finally, Aaron Rodgers
showed up to
Packers training camp.
He's the quarterback for the Green Bay Packers.
Won the MVP last year.
And he showed up in
cosplay as Nicolas Cage's
character in Con Air. just a white tank top with long greased back hair, five days growth, jeans.
And I do want to put this out there, not Aaron Rodgers.
I only go to him to watch a beautifully thrown football
and the occasional medical advice but i do think it's kind of a fun idea to cosplay as somebody who
like a character but it's not it's not clear if that's what you're doing but like it's it's not
totally clear right right what's your what the vibe you're going for? Yeah, yeah. Yeah.
But anyways, Aaron Rodgers, fashion icon,
and the person who would be in charge of our vaccine response
if I had my way, you know, Fauci.
Hey, I mean, don't worry.
When are you going to retire?
Fauci's going to get his time in the hopper.
That's the big thing I think Republicans are already talking about.
They're like, wait till we get in office.
We're going to get Fauci up here.
It's like, move on.
Find a fucking new angle, please.
It's a normal collar.
All right.
Those are some of the things that are trending on this Tuesday, July 26th.
We are back tomorrow with a whole ass episode of the show.
Until then, be kind to each other.
Be kind to yourselves.
Get the vaccine.
Oh, by the way,
I just got my second booster yesterday
courtesy of super producer Ana Hosnier
who turned me on to a place
where they had an abundance.
And I got to just show up.
The way you said that,
I was like, hold on.
Shout out to who turned me on to this place.
I'm like, was it a medical facility like well yeah
anybody in the la area burbank uh the burbank airport there's a dude in the parking garage
who is just giving this shit out uh he says first taste for free and then you know which is all you
need i think and which is bad makes you feel great. I didn't sleep last night.
Yeah, and he just has to tap into a vein and he shoots it up for you.
Yeah.
I felt pretty good.
I felt like a bunch of warmth came over my body from that booster.
I was alluding to the speed shots from Mad Men, but yeah.
Oh, I haven't seen Mad Men.
At one point, there's just an episode where they go into the office and they have a doctor there who's giving everyone amphetamine
shots and they don't know what amphetamines
are. They're just like cranking.
They're like, hey, can I
get another one of those pep injections?
I love that when it was just called
pep whatever. It'd be like amphetamine
shots. Pep pills.
So yeah, get the vaccine if you're in the LA
area. Check out Burbank. Not open
on Wednesdays. And it's
only like 7 to 3. But Thursday,
Friday, highly recommend.
And don't do nothing about white supremacy.
We will talk to y'all tomorrow.
Bye. Bye.
