Starting point is 00:01:42 Okay. Today, what I'm going to be talking about, hopefully, for some of you guys, I'm going to give you some peace today. For some of you, this could be a life-changing episode. And the reason why is because I know a lot of people like to stress out for no reason about the future. And I don't want you to stress out about the future because we don't even know if you're going to wake up in the morning. We don't know if I'm going to wake up in the morning. So why can't we enjoy this time right now that we're in? And I like to use life, everything that happens to you in life as an analogy for headlights in a car.
Starting point is 00:02:18 And most people are worried about where they're going to be in 10 years or 15 years or something like that, or even worried about when they're going to be in, where they're going to be in one year, not even knowing if they're going to make it one year, 10 years, 15 years, you might not be alive at that point in time. What's the point of worrying about it? But what I like to say is life is like headlights. Okay. All you need to know is what you want your life to be like the end of your life, the destination. It's exactly like headlights. And this will make sense to you once I start explaining, but let's say you live to 95. When you get to 95, what do you want your life to have meant? What do you want to have accomplished in your life? What type of family do you want?
Starting point is 00:02:56 All of these types of things. You need to know that that is your destination. You want to know that, but how you get there doesn't matter right now. That might sound crazy for some of you. You're like, how do I... I need to worry about what's going on this year and next year and all these things. Absolutely not. Your destination, you know your destination. So let me give you the analogy that I'm talking about. Let's say that you're driving at night and you have a GPS. The only thing that you know at this point in time is the destination, the GPS. That's where you want to be in 90 years. That's your destination in this analogy.
Starting point is 00:03:32 Now, when you're driving at night, can you see the entire path? Can you see the entire route to get there? You can't. What can you see? You can only see as far as your headlights will let you see. 15, 20 feet, whatever that might be. So you don't need to worry about the entire destination or the entire route to get to your destination.
Starting point is 00:03:53 You just need to worry about the destination and the next 10 to 20 to 15 feet, somewhere in that area. Because that's all you can see. You can't see the entire way to your destination ever. If you're driving a hundred miles from where you are right now, you're not going to be able to see the entire route to get to your destination. All you're going to be able to see is the 10 to 15 feet that are in front of you right now. And so what I say and what I want to talk to you about is making the 10 to 15 feet that are
Starting point is 00:04:25 in front of you right now perfect, as perfect as you can. That's what you need to focus on. You don't need to focus on next year. You don't need to focus on five years from now. You need to focus on today because today is the 10 to 15 feet that you can focus on that's in front of you. You don't have to know what you're going to do your entire life. You don't have to know what you're going to do your entire life. You don't have to know that. You don't have to know what your passions are or what's going on
Starting point is 00:04:49 or how you're going to make money and all of these things. You just need to know your destination. Where do you want to be when you're 90 years old? What do you want your life to have looked like? You don't need to know all of the details. You just need to know how many people you want in your family, what you want your life to have been, what type of legacy, and then focus on today, the 10 to 15 feet in front of you. You can't see past the 10 to 15 feet in front of you. You can't see past today. So stop focusing and stop worrying about all the stuff that you may never even come to. Here's the best part about using a GPS though, guys. Your GPS knows where it's supposed to go. But if you ever used a GPS and then there's something in the road or there's something that's being, you know, some type of random detour,
Starting point is 00:05:36 there's an unexpected detour that you weren't expecting to pop up. And so what do you have to do? You have to hit the detour button and you have to go a different way than you were originally expecting. That's how life is. Life has a lot of detours. You make plans. You think things are going to work out. You want things to work out.
Starting point is 00:05:55 And then you have to hit a detour button, but it doesn't stop you because the fact that there's a detour that doesn't stop you in getting to your destination. You just hit the detour button and you go a different route. That's how life is. Sometimes you're going to have to hit the detour button. Sometimes you're going to fail a little bit. Sometimes things are not going to go the way that you want them to. So what do you do? You hit the detour button and you go a different route and you keep going towards the destination. That's all that matters. You keep going to where you want to be at 90 years old and don't worry about the future. Just worry about the 10 to 15 feet that are in front of you right now. Just worry about today. And if you worry about just today,
Starting point is 00:06:36 every single day and making today as perfect as you possibly can, then when you get to 90 years old, if you're lucky enough to get there, you will have built a very beautiful life because you weren't focusing on things that were out of your control at this point in time. Tomorrow is out of your control. So why focus and worry about it? All you can focus on is today and making today as perfect as you possibly can. All you can focus on is the 10 to 15 feet that are in front of your face. Cause that's all you can see right now. So focus on the 10 to 15 feet that are in front of your face and then worry about, don't worry, actually don't worry at all.
Starting point is 00:07:20 Focus on 90 years from now or when you're 90 years old or whatever it might be, but stop worrying about all of the in between. focus on 90 years from now or when you're 90 years old or whatever it might be. But stop worrying about all of the in-between. Because number one, you don't know if you're going to make it to 90. And number two, you can't worry and focus about things that aren't even here at this point in time. So remember that whenever you start to get stressed out about the future or where you are currently or any of those types of things, realize that you just have to worry about focusing on today and making today as perfect as you possibly can. Just the 10 to 15 feet in front of you that you can see right now. So with that, if you like this episode, please share it with somebody that you know.
