They've seen the original series & the Rob Zombie reboots... now the Scream Queens RETURN for their Blumhouse's Halloween Reaction, Recap, Commentary, Breakdown, & Spoiler Review! Forty years after John Carpenter’s legendary 1978 classic, Halloween (2018) brings Michael Myers back to Haddonfield in a terrifying reboot/sequel from director David Gordon Green (The Exorcist: Believer, Pineapple Express) and Blumhouse Productions. Ignoring all previous sequels, this entry reconnects directly to the original, with Laurie Strode (Jamie Lee Curtis – True Lies, Knives Out) now a hardened survivor preparing for her final confrontation with The Shape. When Michael Myers (James Jude Courtney – Far and Away, Buffy the Vampire Slayer stuntman) escapes custody after a bus transfer crash, he embarks on a brutal killing spree through Haddonfield on Halloween night. Key moments include Michael’s horrifying single-take rampage through suburban homes, Laurie’s booby-trapped house showdown, and the fiery climax that reignited the franchise. The cast also features Judy Greer (Archer, Jurassic World) as Karen Nelson, Laurie’s daughter; Andi Matichak (Assimilate, Son) as Allyson Nelson, her granddaughter; Haluk Bilginer (Winter Sleep, EastEnders) as Dr. Sartain; and Will Patton (Remember the Titans, Armageddon) as Officer Hawkins. With Carpenter returning to provide the chilling score, this Halloween revival blends nostalgia, suspense, and visceral horror for fans new and old. Roxy Striar & Tara Erickson react to, review, and break down the shocking kills, character arcs, and legacy moments that make Halloween (2018) one of the most successful horror reboots of all time. Tell me.
I've seen this movie.
This is the one.
Okay.
I have seen this, the next and the next one.
So this now is a trilogy.

Now, this movie came out in 2018.
Yeah.
I saw it in theaters.
So ask me how much of it I remember.
Because keep about, 2018 was...
That was a while ago.
I'm going to say she remembers 40%.
I'm going to say I remember 0%, not even positive who's in this.
I love it so much.
Like, quite literally.
But we always tell you guys, so Tara's never seen this movie.
Never.
I've seen this trilogy.

A ghost?
No, seriously, what just happened?
I think it, I don't know.
Is it going to fall? No.
All right.
Well, then we're just going to keep it cooking because the show must go on, baby.
Happy Horror Thursday.
Tara and I monopolize this day of the week because we are the Cheegex, we are the horror horrors, we are the scream queens, and we are ready for Halloween 2018 on the count of three.
One, two, three.
Did it.
Let's go see.
Yep, certainly don't remember this.
Already right off the bat.
She has no recollection.
And thank you guys.
We've been informed on the timeline
that this is relating to one and nothing else.
Right.
There are apparently five official timelines.
So many.
We're here today to make a few a patient
that spent the last 40 years in captivity
and by all accounts has not uttered a word.
I bet we're talking about Michael.
We were hoping to have this opportunity
before he's transferred to the new facility.
That's what you know,
I've never seen these people before.
For years, he's been kept here
to be studied. I suppose the state
has lost interest in discovering anything further.
Anthony Hopkins looks a lot older.
Yeah, he does.
And then I lobbied the University of Illinois
to be assigned to Michael myself.
Any progress.
How is she listening and talking?
I guess I listen and talk all the time.
It pays me to see him
transfer to that less than desirable
facility. Less than
desirable. Oh.
He can't speak.
I remember this.
He just chooses not to.
I'd love to stand closer to him, if I may.
Okay, buddy.
Perhaps you'd like to tie your left shoelace.
The gentleman with the umbrella is a fixation for such things.
Oh, I underestimate no one.
Underestimate no one.
Do not cross the line under any circumstances.
Michael, I've got some people who'd like to meet you.
No mask.
Yeah.
Hello, Michael.
It's, yeah, cutting right there.
I know.
We're going to see it?
I kind of hope not
I'd like to know more
about that night
had those involved
She's just recording right now
Yeah
Do you ever think about them Michael
The people you murdered
Castor right now
We need someone
who's really big melodramatic
Those individuals
you madded
I've borrowed something
from a friend
Attorney General's office Michael
I would be so scared
Yeah, me too.
I don't know how he's getting right up there to the line.
Oh, God.
Is he going to, oh, is it his mask?
Oh, it feels like he could sense it, yeah.
Yeah.
Oh, no.
Is the shoelace?
Whose shoelaces come undone?
Oh, oh, God.
Pingoo!
Oh, okay, we're all losing it.
We're all losing it.
I feel like we could do a movie about each person here.
Totally.
Yeah, why can all of them feel it?
Yeah.
Is Michael making them?
Are you clapping your hands, Tara?
Wow.
Okay.
I like that opener.
Yeah.
Jamie Lee.
Oh, my God.
Are we going back to the OG pumpkin?
Oh, look at it growing up.
I love this.
And it's the same sort of, yay.
Because it's connected to the first one.
I bet fans were freaking out, right?
Like, yeah, like, it's so great.
You said John Carpenter and Cody Carpenter.
I wonder if that's his son.
What year?
2018.
Yes, but that's not 28th.
Right.
Oh, maybe it is.
Lexus has been denied private property, no trespassing.
You might need this.
I need that.
Journalists don't pay for their interviews.
If I was trying to get a hot story, I'd pay for it.
I think a lot of journalists pay for it.
I'm like, I'm pretty sure Oprah's paid the biggest journalist.
We're investigative journalists.
We've traveled a very long way.
How does $3,000 sound?
Beep.
Right?
I thought so, sure.
Okay.
It's a bummer because if I confirm any of your thoughts,
people are going to think that I knew,
but I don't remember seeing either of these people ever.
not one day in my life.
And, like, you're not, she's not going to call out stuff that she remembers.
To, like, yeah.
Hello.
Wow, look at those locks.
May we come in, sit down and talk?
Oh, our girl.
Love it.
So is he real?
Who?
Buggyman.
I read you quoted.
You don't believe in the boogeyman.
That's crazy.
I believe in my call.
Michael Myers, deranged a serial killer, but the boogeyman.
Well, you should.
I'd be so annoyed if I were her.
Michael Myers is a human being who killed his sister when he was six years old, and he came after you.
We just want to know why.
So in this one, she's not the sister.
Two failed marriages, rocky relationship with your daughter and granddaughter.
Michael Myers is murder of five.
Tell him, tell him the facts.
And a granddaughter, okay.
They're transferring him.
Tomorrow, seven o'clock.
She already knows.
You know, he'll be locked away until the end of his days.
That's the idea.
What do you guys think he should go free?
Exactly.
Like, let's talk about when the state came to take your daughter away.
She was 12 years old.
They said you're an unfit mother.
Oh, God.
How long until you regain custody?
Is that Jamie?
I guess we'll see.
I didn't.
I know that they're different times.
Why would you bring that up?
Wow.
How long until you regained custody?
I showed him the mask.
What?
No response.
Nothing.
He won't talk to anyone.
There was a response.
there was like you're you might speak with you you're a bit dim buddy why don't you sit down
with him and say all the things you must be longing to say i mean yeah you could it might feel
really good to be like fuck you or not i'll accept my payment uh-huh get help yeah you will
you want a shit under my sink oh oh i swish for marshmallow
Oh, my God, Judy Greer.
Love her.
Don't remember that.
Morning.
I rescheduled my last session so I can make it tonight.
I love Judy Greer.
I just made it to the top of my shop glass making bird house.
Somebody's going to snap.
I don't like that.
I think he's in the American Horror Story show.
Remember the one time Lonnie punched that cop in the face?
Oh, Jesus.
Oh, man.
Felt that coming.
Don't want it.
Instant karma.
Cameron is a good guy.
Sticky.
Nice guys.
until they get you pregnant and then you gotta drive in their pickup trucks and you clean their guns
you clean their guns i like him did you invite grandmother like you said you would you said that you
oh invite her right i did no you totally lying maybe she's agoraphobic she needs cognitive
behavioral therapy so don't take it personally i would too the daughter should just call grandma
so my mom's a liar he said okay
Or even contacted her.
How do you know?
Because I called her myself.
Like the script.
All right.
Oh, that blonde girl, she's in...
Is your grandma ever talk about it?
Yeah, it's pretty much all shocks that.
It defines her life.
She's been traumatized ever since.
Like, loki fair.
Yeah, totally.
Wasn't it her brother who like cold-blooded myrulated all those teenagers?
No.
That's just a bit that some people made up to make them feel better, I think.
So it wasn't her brother in this, yeah.
All things considered, there's a lot worse stuff.
that's happening today and like that was a good way to address that dude her grandmother was almost
fucking murdered and she escaped and they caught him and now he's incarcerated oh my god he's annoying
just shut the fuck up dave yeah shut up oh i'm sorry yeah shut up dave i love this blonde girl
hey do you have everything for your costume tomorrow night i don't know i recognize everybody
and no one oh you guys are just barf you know you're just you're too yucky dumpsters and i want to go dive
I want to go diving
I like him
You said we were going to do this whole Halloween dance together
Now you just
You bitched me
Bless you
You can't walk all over town
Breaking Hearts
Everything feels very lived in and natural
Is she gonna leave?
Can't accept this
Use it for whatever your heart desires
That's why she took the money
That's so cute
Good grandma
I'll save for college then
Go somewhere
Don't worry about your mom
She will freak, but she'll get over it.
Kind of a weird continuity.
All this hiding, all this preparation,
it was for nothing.
It cost you your family.
If the way I raised your mother
means that she hates me.
We should got to grow up.
But then she's prepared for the horse of this world,
then I can live with that.
That's still sad.
Yep.
Say goodbye to Michael and get over it.
The guy rubbed off on you today.
Oh, wow.
I will say Jamie looks very natural
with a gun.
Totally.
Yeah, yeah.
I'm actually with you on that.
Do you wish to give a statement
regarding your former patient, Michael Myers?
My suggestion is termination.
Death is the only solution to Michael.
Why are these two so obsessed
with this?
They just like to go into these murders
but unbiased and find the new story, I guess.
I guess it's like a modern day podcast or two are.
Yeah.
This vitals no longer function
and immediately incinerate the body.
It needs to die.
Is this our OG Loomis' actual voice?
So that's not something we ever heard.
No.
You're replicating.
Yeah.
I think she's waiting for him to be transferred and then like...
Michael Morris is to sue my patient until he said somebody else is...
Okay.
Drinking and driving, Tara.
Or drinking and parked.
So she is waiting.
And then what is she going to follow the bus?
He sent my DNA away.
It looked like something I was walking towards her.
Yeah, that was.
scary.
Trip malls out in the woods
mean his dad.
Oh boy.
I like the cross talk in this.
Okay, so just Bonnie and Clyde.
That's it. Bonnie and Clyde with a twist.
Classic. Yeah.
Nice.
He's being so cool to him.
Did you talk to your grandmother?
Oh.
Abrupt?
Yeah.
She said she was going to come.
She came to my office.
We had a nice talk.
Did you?
Really.
I'm so sorry.
Great timing, mom.
Hi.
Oh, maybe she was telling truth.
Why don't you sit down, mom?
Yeah, I'm good.
Yeah, have a seat.
Oh, my God.
Oh, no.
Oh, no.
What is this?
You know, this is exactly why we don't reach out.
Oh, my gosh.
She just took three sips, like, relax.
I will sit down.
Just, yeah.
Why don't we press the reset, but.
Don't they know what happened with Michael tonight?
Like, let her have some wine.
Jesus Christ.
It would also.
It is a little much.
Yeah.
Mom.
I wanted to kill him.
Okay, that's enough, Lord.
I didn't know what to do.
This reminds me, like, what?
Of how she was in a phenomenal episode of the bear.
Why don't we go for a walk, all right?
You said you were going to try to put the past behind you, okay?
Guys, we got to stop telling her to forget.
We just have to, like, listen.
Oh, no.
Oh.
Oh.
I never told you.
how I spent my childhood.
She's never talked about it?
I learned how to shoot a gun when I was eight.
I learned how to fight.
I had nightmares about the basement.
Whoa.
I've spent my entire life
trying to get over the paranoia and neuroses
that she has projected on me.
That is very hard.
Yeah.
Oh, they're really going there.
That's tough.
I'm missing dance class for this.
Oh.
Sometimes I'd rather do that than wanting.
Is dance class?
Is that important to you?
See me like.
I like his voice.
Me too.
Let him dance.
Dad, look out.
Oh, God.
Oh, God, they broke out.
Oh, shit.
Dad, look.
Lumpy, you stay here.
No, no.
Why would you get out?
Just keep going.
Call the police.
Stay in the car.
Exactly.
You're to leave your kid.
Oh, no.
Why are we asking?
You see the bus.
You see what they're wearing.
Are you dumb?
Right.
Prison.
if they're okay. You're going to get killed.
You and I have issues with people doing stupid things.
Take the car and drive, kiddo. Come on. You got a brain on your shoulders. Let's go.
Was he going to leave his dad? Yes.
I would go. I would get in the drive seat and they'd go pick them up.
There's a bus. People running around the road. My dad went to look. I don't know.
Put on. I go check.
No. No.
Is that his dad? I don't know.
No
Oh
Maybe bus driver
Because a cop
Or like a person
On the bus
I've been watching too much
zombie stuff recently
I keep thinking
He's gonna pop his head up
And
Oh my god
What kind of was zombie
Like
It was
It was
Holy crap
I'll go get my dad
That got me
Run
Dad
Daddy
I think dad's gone
Buddy
Why would you go on the bus
Oh
Oh, God!
Okay, well, he's a good shot, but didn't know when to shoot.
Well, you better check the car now.
I bet you somebody's in there.
There we go.
Oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh.
Hey.
I'm grateful they didn't show us more of that.
I, yeah, that's pretty savage.
Oh, berry, slushy, or blue raspberry slush?
You'll just bring me a coffee, well, yeah, I'll get you back later.
Oh, I love that guy's voice.
I know, I don't know his name is an actor, but I do love him.
You're never going to beat my scores.
We have a 1050 on Marlowe.
Oh, it's Bill, uh, I get confused between Pullman and Paxton.
Oh, isn't that one of them?
If you need assistance, let yourself be known.
Signal 13.
Thank God, Anthony Hopkins finally showed up.
I need assistance and back up right away.
bro what's his name this is going to do i mean i think it's i don't think it is Pullman that's the one that's
Louis Pullman's dad who is in um space balls right doesn't look like him maybe it's built
bill paxton right what happened in here did he escape
oh no did who escape oh yeah tell him will Patton we're close will Patton
he then proceeded the slice of the skull he continued stabbing this is the actual footage from
the first one, right?
Mm-hmm.
Yeah.
8-2-1 is Michael Myers.
Babysitter murders, 1978.
Oh, that's what they call.
Baby-sitter murders, huh.
Michael Myers, loose
with a bunch of nut bags
and hadn't filled on Halloween night.
Yeah, it's, that's crazy.
You better get prepped.
At least he got it immediately.
Totally.
Like, you better get prepped.
Want anything from the shop?
No, no, thank you.
They stress me out.
I hear you on that,
where it's sort of just like,
what else are we going to get into with them?
Oh, this lady, what's she doing?
This is weird.
What is she looking at?
Peace and love.
Peace and love.
Her eyes made a weird movement.
Like, she was, like, trying to tell him something.
In the Halloween franchise, we had that scene in a bathroom like this.
I don't remember which movie it was, but...
Oh.
Those look like his shoes, right?
girl start wiping pulling up your pants and getting the out of there
excuse me someone's in here oh oh god oh yeah yeah girl get up he's gonna peek over
hello yeah at this point she probably thinks he's a peeping tom right oh oh
really well done wow that looked amazing and also is just that
That really did.
Great, great shot.
Oh, man, he made the rounds.
That's why that lady was looking at him like that.
If I'm her at this point, I'm freaking out.
Dude, like.
That's teeth.
Oh, my God.
Nope.
No.
I'm definitely pulling up my pants.
Okay.
Oh, no.
She's not going to make it.
She's not going to make it.
She is not going to make it.
Oh, no.
It doesn't just seem like one of our lead characters?
Yeah, but I guess not.
Okay, okay, good, good, good, good, good.
Oh, God, oh God, oh God.
Oh, does he have the mask on?
No, no, because the mask is in the...
Oh, oh.
Oh, yeah, Michael's a beast, yo.
Oh, grab it, grab it and go, honey.
Oh, my God.
No, he's dead. He's dead.
He's another of our, oh.
Get out.
Oh, God.
You got to go help him.
I know, but she's, girl, get, oh.
You have got, no, why are you just sitting there?
Oh my God
Wow
That was really gruesome
Oh my god
Yep done
Done
Well now I know I didn't remember them
Reunite with your mask
Buddy
Do you think that guy just died?
Yeah
And now I think he's gonna take their car too
Oh
He's gonna know
Oh god
I'm kind of surprised she wasn't tracking that it
didn't arrive. I'm with you actually on that. But I guess after the night they had at the restaurant, she probably just, oh yeah, okay, yeah, get those. That's my girl. I mean, take away. Ready. Yeah, love it. Oh, whoa, look at this. This I remember. This is sick. This is cool. Yep, I remember this because it's so cool.
I kind of want that if I ever had a house, but it would be just like a cool downstairs.
I'm obsessed with you saying I want that with us in our apartments.
Where are we going?
Into the ground.
Oh, God.
That is, oh, my.
What are you doing in our house?
You mean, how did I get into your house?
You have no security system, Karen.
Karen.
Oh, my God.
You're dead.
Got you, you're dead.
Oh, my God.
I have tried to protect you and prepare you.
now we have to hunt him down yeah let's go what is she said what boss keep a gun no you need to go get out
you should keep the gun she what is she saying you're dead got you're dead you're dead
she's kind of an icon bro so good you're gonna follow this miss squirrel

He's as old as yeah
I like that I like that
Yep what was the character's name
I don't remember
Oh
Oh god there he is
Sorry about sir
Oh thank you
Sorry about that
Why didn't he just start killing
He's kind of selective with who he kills
Sometimes which is interesting
Oh is he in here to get some weapons
Okay
He heard you Tara
Grab a weapon
But did he hear me
Some of the comments are like, it's getting old.
They'll clap, and some of the comments are like,
it's my favorite thing.
Listen, I'm a divisive gal.
You guys got to just deal with it.
It's not good.
You guys think that's going away.
Tommy?
Yeah, I know right.
Two years.
Totally.
Oh, wow.
Not showing it.
I kind of like that.
Me too.
The shaking of the table chair.
Yep.
Yeah.
We understood.
Drops it right away.
Just like he did in that other freaking.
All right.
Well, they didn't save that.
that much money because yeah she's all
oh no
but I think this is you hearing what's happening yes this is
a tracking shot rocks Tara that's a baby I know

The tracking shot quickly.
Yes, it is, babe.
Oh, wow.
Do love the decoration to do.
Around here.
Yeah, this is full-blown trick-or-treating.
Yeah, love it.
Thanks for telling me.
Who is that?
Billy.
Oh, boy.
Too late, honey.
Too late.
So she said, thanks mom for calling.
So the mom obviously told her about,
Oh, oh, wow.
That looked really great straight into frame.
That was wild, dude.
I love this kid.
Do that with your ass.
Do that with your ass.
Bonnie and Clyde in reverse.
Totally.
Put this feeling on a summer day when you were gone.
Oh, no, it's not what I thought it was.
God, I wish I was there.
I was so fucking bummed.
Which of my shows was she on?
The runaways, I think.
One of my Marvel shows, I think.
Oh, you better answer.
Where'd you go?
Girl.
It's Halloween.
You know what that means with that call.
It's done.
Dave's already on his way and he's going to bring the, you know, the Al-a-Zam.
No, maybe she doesn't, though, because we heard from the mom that she didn't talk to her really about it.
We'll come over as soon as it's over.
Yeah, because she said, like, I heard you telling your friends to come over here and you're going to smoke some weed.
This kid, Al-a-Cazam.
If I had some other kind of babysitter, she'd be reading me a story.
I wouldn't be up.
Club of my nasty-ass toenails.
I love him.
I love him.
Hey, Vicki.
Can you lose the door open?
Just a crack?
Yeah.
Either way, you're actually my favorite kid I babysit for.
I'm glad she said that.
Me too.
Oh.
Oh.
Oh.
What?
What?
That's not what.
Fuck me out.
No, he looked like he went in for that.
Very clearly.
Like, what the fuck?
What was that?
What's this?
What, dude,
have some discretion, all right?
What?
It has a discretion.
You kissed her.
Oh my God, gaslight her.
Do not gaslight her.
Do not gaslight her.
Oh, you're a dick.
I just said they were the cutest couple.
He's a dick.
What?
No.
Do you fucking precious phone?
Oh, no.
Time for you to die.
Oh, I'd kill him.
No.
You just kissed another girl, and this is how you're being, dude.
oh no he's tracking the blonde girl oh good thing she's got a knife yeah but does she seem like she knows how to use it she's not gonna he's gonna use it oh oh sorry I didn't want to ring the doorbell and I got the kid at the very least I don't get this guy girl what does it say oh oh they hook up I guess so oh yeah yeah yeah they juice it okay I thought he was very clearly gay yeah no he's very not
Very not. They're dry-humping it out, man.
What was that?
What was that?
Did you hear something?
I didn't hear anything.
I didn't either.
Would you go look?
Do I have to tell?
Yeah, would you please go look?
I'm not sensing the chemistry here, though.
Oh, fuck me.
I saw someone in the hallway standing outside my door.
Oh, God.
Those are a fucked up face.
Watching me from the dark.
Oh, ghost and goblins, little buddy.
Shut up, Dave.
I heard of breathing.
Hey, tell him.
Tell him.
Shut up, Dave.
Oh, snap.
Well, I got you.
Let's check it out.
Say Dave first.
No, no.
He said, Dave.
He said, shut up, Dave.
He was standing right there in the door.
I'll check it out.
Why?
I mean, I know that kids, like, see things, but why isn't she believing him at all?
The closet.
Excuse me, sir?
What are you doing in here?
She's doing a joke.
Like, ha-ha, I got him.
Get out now!
That's like the dead.
Yeah.
Yeah, yeah, I knew it.
I knew it.
I knew it.
Because you wouldn't say, excuse me, sir.
No, you wouldn't.
Nothing's in here.
You check behind the curtain.
I checked the whole place.
Well, even if she did, he literally said he saw.
Like, you're right.
Oh, great.
Does he see something?
He sees something.
Oh, there she goes.
What?
Bro.
Like, I would never have the balls to do that in someone else's garage.
Oh, wow.
You're an idiot.
Wow.
Can you close the closet door?
Yeah.
She'll be in there.
Maybe it.
Oh my God.
Oh shit, he said.
Oh, yep, yep, yep, yep.
Run, knife, knife.
Shoot.
Sox are dangerous.
Shoot.
Dude.
Julie.
Oh, no, no, no.
A weapon, kid.
Tell him to run.
Weapon.
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
I'll get help.
You love this.
You're going to be killed me.
Oh, man.
That was the most realistic child reaction I've ever seen.

He'll maybe you'll just find the girl and...
I repeat, this is Officer Hawkins.
Please respond.
Imagine being taller than a refrigerator.
With the regular ones, I'm taller than those.
Really?
The little, you know, the old school ones that the freezer's on top.
Oh, God.
Yeah, she's...
Yeah, yeah, tell him.
Oh.
If I see a lady with a gun.
Yeah.
You're screaming, get out of here.
I'll be running.
God, I hate this.
Yeah.
She's him.
Now is she going to catch...
Oh, she sees Michael.
He's still in the house.
I didn't expect that.
Oh, is that a mirror?
Yeah.
Yeah.
I didn't remember that guy.
Sorry.
Oh.
Wow.
That looks very good.
So when he said F this, that's what happened.

Yep.
See how calm she is?
No, do as I say.
Thank God she's with this guy, though, at least.
Because you think he's going to be able to protect her?
No, not at all.
Oh.
Oh, but don't be a creep.
Don't be a fucking weirdo.
You're not with camera anywhere.
That does not.
It does not mean I want to be with you.
I thought you were sending me signals.
Definitely no signals.
I didn't see any signals.
I got really horny at the party
and like all these girls were like
Oh wow
They were feeding me guacamole in all these sexy ways
Oh feeding me
Sam
Oh
No one's ever fed me guacamole in a sexy way

What's up?
I'm leaving right
Then leave
But start walking
Like, what...
Oh, God.
Do you think that Judy Greer
chained Allison at all?
Or whatever her name is?
Yeah, Allison.
No, because she didn't tell her
about her childhood.
Yeah, you're done, buddy.
Oscar.
Ooh, wow.
Okay, you see this.
What are you doing?
Running.
Looking around.
Yeah, you run.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
And they'd grab anything.
From any porch.
I grab a freaking pumpkin on fire.
Oh, no.
It's just the blinds with the dead woman, right?
He killed my friend.
Everything's going to be wrong.
They're going to take you back to your mom, okay?
Oh, oh, good.
Okay, they got her.
I wonder if he's ever seen this.
Oh, he looks like.
he's got no idea
all right
she looks like she has
PTSD totally
yeah there we go
this is accuracy and stopping power
this is tactical
come on Michael
Judy Greer's nodding no
but it's like
dude it's like
it's happening
yeah it is happening
and she's saving your ass
right now
oh
look
it's him
here we go
oh is he going to run him over
gracious hose
oh all right
Buckle up
Don't hit him
Definitely hit him
Well I think get her to safety first
I know right like buckle up but like
Get away from the body stand back
I'm not going to say it again step away from the suspect
What is he doing?
Step away
Oh
Oh
Oh my god
And she can't
When you're in the back, they doesn't...
Oh, my God, the doors are locked.
Will Patton.
Yeah, dude.
Like, what just happened to him?
Why the fuck?
Why would he do that?
He was his doctor, but...
So, this is what it feels like.
Oh, my God.
He got obsessed with him,
and now he wants to know, like, why he is...
Wow.
If he takes off his mask...
Oh, he took.
Look the frickin mask.
What the fuck?
I mean, you have to try to keep that door open.
What?
Wait, what is happening?
You want to buy me a sandwich?
He really killed him.
Cuckoo fricking bananas.
What is she going to do in the back seat with him?
When he murdered my friend, he saw me, and he spoke to me.
One word, let me go, and I will tell you what he said.
You must tell me.
Manipulate. Manipulate.
Smart. Smart.
Smart.
I don't know.
What was the word?
Was it the sister's name? Judith?
Here we go. She hears the breathing. Let's go.
What was the word?
Fuck.
Oh, you got the mask on already.
Oh!
Okay, well at least he broke that.
Interesting that he went for him before he went for her.
Oh, and he's getting out.
out now. Run or
take the car. No, go to
the other police car. She didn't
see it. I don't think she saw it. She must not have.
They don't have their lights on. Say
something.
He's obsessed.
Oh. Hawkins, please respond.
Obviously something's wrong, guys. Obviously.
You're going to have to. Dispatch be advised.
We've got a man down. He's 107.
No sign of 601.
Oh, he's right there.
Okay, he's going to take their car, I bet.
You never wanted to listen when I spoke back night,
and this is why I've been preparing for this for a long time.
You want him to come here.
I'm so sorry, baby.
I know she had to make a split-second decision,
but going towards the woods instead of either way on the road.
Totally.
I'm with you on that.
But maybe she knows these woods.
I mean, he's in the woods to Grandma's house.
Yeah, and I guess you could maybe,
hide in the woods
I don't know
oh no
why would you go
because a cop car
he thinks it's a cop
any word
it's Michael buddy
hey any word on Allison
this is not gonna be good
oh
that's spooky
really spooky
oh my god turn around dude oh oh oh oh yeah that's done wow
he's dead i think yeah kind of poor ray like
Totally.
Yeah, he's here.
You got to, well, Ray's dead.
Michael's here.
Get downstairs.
Go, baby, go!
Say again, where's Ray?
And where's my daughter?
I guess actually better for the daughter not to be there.
Do not come upstairs, dude.
Yeah, don't.
Get down there and close it.
Come on now.
I love how...
I'm not to say she's not afraid, but I love how she is, like, ready for this moment and determined.
She's been waiting.
Shit.
Oh, no.
No, no, no!
Oh, God.
Bite them.
Come on.
Come on.
You've had that gun.
I feel like, Judy, you got...
She's got to get upstairs, Judy.
Karen, you got to get upstairs.
Bite, bite, bite, bite, bite.
Okay.
There we go. There we go. There we go. There we go.
Come on, Karen.
Through his hand, he'll let go. Yeah, there we go.
Good. Take a couple of fingers.
Wow. Wow.
Where is he?
Oh, oh, oh.
Yeah, light that mother effer up.
Yeah, totally.
That's Ray?
Yeah, in the, in the yard.
And where's Michael?
I was wrong to raise you the way I did.
I'm kind of surprised you didn't shoot him more.
Nothing will happen to you.
I know you thought.
This was my cage.
Love this dialogue.
I'm scared.
Of course you're scared.
Curious thing that ever happened to anybody.
Totally.
I love that she shot off his fingers.
Oh, no, but if you shoot through that, the hole, he's going to know!
Oh, we did hear a drop, kind of.
I have to finish this.
Mom, I love you. I love you.
There's not enough cops in this town, and I don't say that often.
I am with you. Also, you raise your daughter, you know, these tactics.
She needs to put them to use.
Like, grab a weapon, honey.
Help your mom out.
I think that's why she just said
I shouldn't have done that I should protect you.
Well, it's already been done, so...
Yeah, exactly.
I could put it to a freaking use.
Great point, T, T, T.
Is he the kind of guy that would hide?
In a closet, I don't know.
Come out, Michael.
Maybe.
Oh, based on that P.O.V.
Oh.
I wouldn't go closer.
If you think he's in there, just start shooting.
Right?
Shit.
Oh, no, he's not.
Shit, is he?
No.
That POV surprised me.
Nice little call back to the hangers,
wire hangers.
Which one was that from?
The first one.
It was the first?
Yeah.
Is this a room in our house?
That's just empty?
Yeah, I was just looking at that.
I was like, wow.
She's, yeah.
Oh.
Oh, okay.
That's how she clears the rooms.
Love that.
I didn't remember that.
Love that.
I feel like that kind of traps you.
Yeah, it does.
Okay, here's what we know.
Michael's not chasing after her right now.
Oh, oh.
Oh, she is literally going to Grandma's house.
Okay.
Decoy City.
Or maybe not.
That's where we saw her at the gun range earlier, right?
That's what she was shooting at or no?
Yeah, you might be right about that.
Okay, so you did shoot him.
He went upstairs.
Well, we're seeing the blood from the hand, right?
Totally, yeah.
Why are we clearing these, like, rooms for ourselves?
We don't have a choice, but it's just like shite.
Well, we do.
We could stay in the basement.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yep.
It's a really cool design.
Totally.
The suspense in this one.
It's very well done.
Yep.
Oh, there's blood on the.
I don't know if they were like that before.
He looked like he was sitting there.
I didn't see that, but I believe.
you. Oh, no, no. Maybe not.
Oh, God. Oh, Jesus. But then again, we don't want to waste
bullets. I don't know how many reloads.
Hachab!
I think I've missed a couple. That was, that was...
Oh, oh. Oh, no. He had time to drag it the fuck up there?
Oh, no. That's savage. That is. Oh, no. Yeah, I thought that
was him it's not okay so
he's outside now
why don't we want to turn the lights on
I don't know we don't know that he's
outside yeah it's just like that
the door is
the porch or something is open
I feel like
I hate this
those mannequins really have a penis like it's not just a bulge
you're right no it's full
Foley there!
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, that's right, Lori.
That's right, Lori. Come on now.
Where did she just get stabbed?
I don't know.
Yeah, yeah, yeah, do everything in anything.
The one that you cut off his fingers and you bit it.
Yeah.
Oh, dang, dang, dang, dang.
I have to be honest, if you're Karen and you're staying down there
when you know your mom is fighting him to the death.
Yeah, that's what I mean.
That's why I was saying earlier, like, what the fuck?
No, she's going to come out because she's her daughter.
But why did the daughter, oh, because the grandma's in the back.
Okay, so she didn't see her.
You have to come out, Karen, you have to come out.
Dude, you hear your daughter.
You've got to get out from, with a freaking, with multiple weapons and say,
take a weapon, honey.
He's coming. Come on.
Or do that.
That's fine.
Okay.
That was something.
Yeah.
Okay.
That's fine.
I'm going to find you guys.
Oh.
Oh, no.
Please close.
Close.
Close.
Get a weapon.
Okay.
He's not close enough.
He's slow as both of.
He's going to know now because they always keep the remote out so someone can always.
No, there's she had closed it from underneath.
I know, but they leave the remote on the table.
It's still out there, yeah.
Mm-hmm.
And I think he's going to know.
he's gonna know well also the gunshots that came from down yeah from yeah totally but we just saw that
Lori got up so we know she she still had this oh what's he gonna do start bashing
grab the guns while you girls are that's what I'm saying like that I there are multiple guns there
can I tell you what terror give it to her daughter too like like
You know what this is not a good time for?
Clapping your hands.
It's not.
It's the first and the only time we've seen.
You're right. You're absolutely right.
I got to tell you, clapping your hands is not a play in this scenario.
Got to get rid of it.
You've got to grab a weapon, though.
Totally.
Like, there are, you hear him doing that.
The fact that your mom raised you the way that she did, it's pissing me off that her instincts wouldn't go immediately go to the weapons and give your daughter a weapon.
Come on.
Have it clicking.
in, honey.
I don't like this writing.
Go get the freaking weapon.
There we go. There we go.
You've got to do it. Come on now.
Karen's road. And now give one to your daughter, too.
Yep, you're ready. You've been trained for this. So here we go.
I mean, if I was a daughter, I'd grab a gun and be like, point and shoot.
It did take her a long time to grab the weapon, but I liked the build to it.
Yeah, yeah.
She's traumatized with how she was raised.
She's taken when she was 12.
Like, I sure she hasn't held the gun.
Oh, savvy.
But where is Lori?
Unload.
I don't know.
Don't shoot Lori.
Where he is?
Mom!
No.
You know that wasn't mom who flipped that.
I can't do it.
Yeah, you can.
You have to.
You got to save your daughter.
Yes, you, what do you mean?
Stack up, babe.
Shoot.
Gotcha.
Oh.
Oh.
Good.
I like that. I like that. I like dad. I like dad. That was good. I like that. I didn't remember that. That was good. That's sick.
That's right.
Oh, no. Oh, no. Let's go. Let's go. Let's go. Oh, he raises up. Oh, the way he rises up. I don't. Nope.
Come on. Come on. You got to shoot him.
Somebody hit him with the frying pan.
Okay, okay, okay.
Run.
Close it on him.
Yeah, girl, get that knife.
Come on now.
There you go.
There you go.
Yes, she's got that.
Strode instinct in her.
There we go.
That's right.
Oh.
Ah!
When she said, Mom, help us, I can't do it, I was so annoyed.
Me too, me too.
Okay, it's not a cage, baby.
It's a trap.
That I remembered.
Nice.
But I did not remember that her being that line.
That was sick, dude.
Oh, my God.
That was sick.
Oh, my God.
This is amazing.
Yeah, peace out.
Biauch.
Wow, what a spooky.
Okay, we've released the gas.
We got to get out of here, y'all.
Don't stand there.
We've got to run.
Come on, get out.
I'm sure she wants to watch them burn, but like.
Yeah, she probably does.
Great shot.
That's spooky.
It's not a cage.
It's a trap.
Yeah.
I just love mom help.
I can't do it.
Gotcha.
Yeah.
Wow.
Everywhere.
Look at it.
Wow.
Oh.
Okay, burn it all down.
Let's go.
Wow.
Someone's coming.
I got her.
Go, go, baby, go!
You think she has no idea that her dad's dead?
Yep, she's got no idea
because he's in that closet.
Wow, great.
That looks great.
She just said, help us.
Yeah, right?
Like...
That was phenomenal.
Yeah, it was.
She still has a knife.
Good girl.
I don't have to leave a weapon behind.
Would not suggest it.
I fucking love that shit.
I like that.
You know what's crazy, Tara?
I'll tell you in a second.
First, I want to say, shout out to Prepper
for helping add us down.
I know with these horror movies
it's particularly difficult,
especially when we've got as much
blood and boobies as we do in this franchise.
If you guys are on Apple, Spotify,
like, comment, if you're on YouTube,
thumbs up, comment, all that good stuff.
Also, at Real Rejects.
That's where we are on social media.
We will get to the Patreon questions.
If you're a patron, there's a tier where you can ask us questions,
and we will get to our top eight, which is exciting.
You guys ask really great questions, but before we go there,
okay, just looking really quick at the cast.
I'll probably pull that up in a little bit,
because I feel like there's some people that I was like,
I know I know you from something, but I want to know you how.
Yeah.
Let me come to you, Tara.
How'd you feel about this?
Dude, I loved it.
Is this your favorite Halloween movie?
Yeah, I mean,
I mean, yes.
On the franchise, is your favorite?
You know what?
Yeah.
Like, more than H2O?
Yes.
H2O was great, but I think this one really got me going.
Is it because the ending?
Yes.
Okay.
It really is.
Like, if I'm trying to think of, like, what was all the beginning of H2O?
It was good, good acting.
I mean, I can't remember every detail.
I do remember, you know, when they come face to face,
that was cool when she yells for his name, blah, blah, blah.
But this is so dope.
I mean, the way that, you know, she raised her
and when she comes in and she's like, gotcha.
It's a nice callback when the daughter says, gotcha,
and then she shoots her, and she flips.
Like, she gets into that mode.
I think it's because of the end.
I really do.
Like, that payoff, sick.
It was everything I wanted and more.
Yeah, I'm super with you.
So what's interesting is, so you know, I've seen this before.
And I remember walking out of the theater and thinking, I really like that movie.
Yeah.
I actually kind of remember that about all three of the upcoming, like these three movies.
But I didn't have the attachment to it that I do now because we just binged all of them.
And to me now, I was like, this movie is phenomenal.
And I didn't have the context for this movie.
Right.
that I had the first time, now watching it,
knowing, even though I know this is only relevant to one,
but seeing Lori's entire journey through all of them,
even though they got nixed,
but just like us living through the pain with her.
Right.
So many times.
Yeah.
And then watching what she was able to do here,
just the, it's not a cage, it's a trap.
Yeah.
It's just the brilliance of that.
And me not remembering about Karen's character,
like as much as she didn't want to grow up like that,
It's what ends up saving her life, man, and her daughter's life.
And I was sitting here thinking to myself, this is the worst, this is so annoying.
Like her daughter's there and she's like, I can't do it.
I'm thinking to myself, come the F on sack up.
Right, me too.
And then to find out, it's gotcha.
Thank God.
What a payoff.
Amazing.
What a payoff.
Unbelievable.
And thank goodness, when that daughter grabbed that knife, I was like, hallelujah.
And she didn't just go once.
She went a few times.
And then we, like, yes, instinct.
It's just like, finally.
That was so good, dude.
It was so good.
That movie is so good.
So amazing.
I don't want to spoil too much for you guys,
but Tara and I might be having a project come up soon
where we might be doing an entire deeper dive into Halloween
and where things possibly go on our list.
True.
And if we are doing that and when we are, whatever,
I'm so excited to re-talk about this.
Yeah, me too.
This is like, wow.
All right.
So let's get to these patron questions.
Thanks for pulling that up, Tara.
One more time for you guys at home who's like,
how do we get to ask these?
Go to patreon.com slash real rejects.
That's where you can submit questions.
And let's get to some of these right now.
DK Lounge.
Thank you.
D.K. says,
do you like the decision to have this be a direct sequel to the original
and Rett Conning, Michael and Lori being siblings?
Yeah, I'm fine with it.
I want you to remember something right now.
Do you remember when we started watching the second one?
And I was like, their siblings, I've seen the most recent three.
I have no idea.
I have no idea.
I guess that's why because I guess they weren't.
But remember, I was so confused.
Like, what?
Wouldn't I have known that?
Right.
Wild.
No, I think it's smart for them.
Well, actually, I guess if they had been siblings here, it wouldn't have made that much of a difference.
It really wouldn't have.
But I like this just being attached to the first one.
It makes it cleaner.
Absolutely.
Thanks for the question, D.K.
Jaden Rhodes, people love this movie.
were included.
A lot of people put this high in their ranking,
but for me, it's the most overrated one
in the franchise. Not the worst one, but it's definitely not
a good movie in my opinion. Whoa.
I'm curious if you all like this version of Laurie Strode,
people say it's played a little
over the top. I happen to agree, and I think
that they nailed the PTSD stuff
in H2O.
Okay, Jaden, I got to give this
to you. I don't know if this is my number one.
It might be, I don't know,
but H2O is amazing. I
loved what they did in H2O.
Yeah, me too.
That being, yeah, we loved that movie.
That being said, I am having a really hard time with the fact that people think that this is over the top version of Lori Strode.
What?
I didn't feel that way.
I didn't feel that way at all.
Like, I feel like this is somebody who has been completely traumatized, watched five people die, has a person who's been after her, broke out of prison, and comes for her family.
Like, what's more dramatic than that?
Exactly.
And there's years on her.
She's a grandma now.
and it makes just complete sense
that it's just been so many years
it's weighed on her
so of course she's gonna have you know PTSD
I do like how they
but I am with you Jaden
you know how they handled her PTSD
and the other one
remember how she was like drinking wine
and she made the guy go away
and then slam the wine
and I was like oh
those little details
I really like that
that it was
she was drinking wine in this one
she was but I meant like
they were trying to make it
not as obvious
of as to what she was dealing with
she was trying to hide it from people
in this one she's not
she's very much like
like why do you want to dig up this story
like you know
like fuck off to those people
the journalist because like they were asking her
dumb questions and like she's just there being prepped
if I'm giving yeah
yeah I'm with you actually I'll see the rest of the
questions to see if my other point comes up
on this okay
awesome Joe thanks awesome Joe
would you have
preferred that the story be as it has been for the last 40 years than being
them being brother and sister do you like this new direction where they have no
connection at all whatsoever but yet they continue to hint that there is some kind of
connection between the two of them what are your thoughts so we just kind of address this a
little bit but I I guess Tara let's let's focus on the second part of this
some other kind of connection between the two of them what do you find that their
connection is really here well I'm trying to think of that right now
um it's like spiritual almost but i think it's because of the babysitter stuff you know
yeah it's because she was the one she was the last one to to really kill him that like not
kill him but like try to kill him almost is what she thought um and then i get why did they
write con it though the yeah that part the brother sister part i wonder because it did make
sense that that's why he would be going after her because he already killed his first sister he's young
and he's like, kill them all type of a deal.
And that's my only connection that I can really make
is just like she went after him with the freaking, you know,
hangar, thought she killed him.
I thought was a good choice.
Yeah.
Madlove.
Thank you, Madlove.
I find this to be the best sequel in the entire franchise
and even believe that they could have ended it here
and it would have been a great finale.
I agree with that.
I also like that the fact that it could have been a great finale.
I also like the writers decided to recone the same.
sibling connection, as John Carpenter hated, that he wrote that into his sequel, he did.
Where's the film, as of now, fall in your ranking?
We'll talk more official rankings later on, but I think pretty high for both of us.
Pretty high.
Yeah.
I didn't know John Carpenter hated that.
That's a really good reason to Rat Cotton something.
Yeah, and he's a co-writer on this.
So he was like, nah.
He's like, nope, skip it.
Okay.
Austin, thank you, Austin.
I'm assuming you figured out this only includes Halloween in 1978 in this timeline,
so I wanted to ask you, which movie do you like the most between all the movies?
Number one, wanting to kill his family, basically every movie besides the modern ones.
Number two, the whole curse of Thorne trilogy of him being controlled.
Number three, no motive and pure evil.
Number three.
You like no motive and pure evil?
I know that there's five timelines.
We looked into this a little bit.
I do like this timeline a lot, but I don't think we can fully answer that until the next two movies.
I agree, because I like the number one, wanting to kill his family, but now that.
that I know they wrecked it, I'm like, you know, she's not a sister.
My assumption is we will find out maybe more of a motive in the other ones.
I don't know, but there are, not number two.
Not number, but there are people who have zero motive and are pure evil serial killers.
So that doesn't bug me that much.
James Hattnery the second.
Thank you, James.
Now that you are here.
Yes, we are.
How do you feel about the franchise as a whole being so connected and also does,
Disconnected at the same time, for example, this final timeline comes after Halloween, 1978,
retconning all the murders and other films.
Do you think these plot changes help or hurt the franchise going forward to the last two films?
I don't think it hurts it because, I mean, they're setting up what they want to continue for the next two movies,
so they're going to have to stay true to that.
And obviously, the other movies, which followed that she was his sister, a lot of them, not that great.
So I don't mind that they switched it up because I have.
I love this movie, and there was quite a few in there,
or I was like, don't like it.
There are some storylines that I wish that we were able to go back
and develop more, like Josh Hartnett stuff.
Right.
I'm bummed to miss out on some certain things.
But in general, I do think this makes it more accessible
for audiences as well.
I think so, too.
Okay.
Yeah.
Leon O3. Thank you, Leon.
This franchise is a very bad habit of always starting a new sequel timeline
with a very good, strong movie, H2, H2, H4, H2.
remake and then ending their perspective time
on the bizarre sequel H3
Season of the Witch, H6
Curse of Michael and
Resurrection 2002 and H2
remake 2009 do y'all
predict that this trend will continue on this new timeline
I've seen these movies so I can't predict
I actually don't remember what happens in the next two
I think I remember liking them though
but I think that the most
recent one I remember having a lot of more
issues with if I remember correctly
I think that this is the movie
that people always quote this line
Evil dies tonight. I think that most
recent one is where they quote that where it was like
what the hell is happening here but we'll see
when we get there.
I hope that
they won't continue on that trend
but they will continue on this trend. That it's original
Halloween, this movie and then
the rest will follow that leaving all the
others left out in
the wind.
Okay, we're taking one more from
Stoned Trunks. Thank you Stone Trunks.
Here we go, Stone Trunks.
High as she Jeex.
Obviously, I haven't seen the vid yet,
but I'm guessing you guys made a lot of comparisons to H2O.
What with this being commonly referred to as H40 by fans?
Oh, that's cool.
I wanted to know if y'all preferred both in terms of the movie itself
and the characterizations of Lori and both.
Laura was haunted, but still trying to lead a normal life
in H2O versus Lori being a shut-in,
who trained herself Sarah Connor style in age 40.
Love the reactions as always.
Thanks for the question, Stone Trunks.
Yeah, I mean, H2O is the one we referenced the most.
In H40, we seem to be obsessed with.
So I think there's a lot of comparisons.
Totally.
I mean, they're both really high up there.
Like, I love them.
Yeah.
So much fun.
Great writing.
You know, people grabbed a weapon.
They did the right thing.
And I like that.
Correct me wrong, but that's our new thing is that we only answer the first eight, right?
Yeah.
You can do nine if we have, it's 8.13, so we could probably do one more, and then we got a rock and roll.
You're okay, do one more?
Yeah.
Okay, here we go.
Last one, actually, last time I was fibbing, this time I'm not.
R.C. Flores, I really like Halloween 2018.
This is one of the longest running horror franchises spanning five different decades.
Holy shit.
Wow, yeah.
Late 70s through early 2020s.
Overall, do you think the franchise has done a good job of keeping up times and appealing to new generations of slasher fans?
Tara, what do you think?
I do, except for some of the reactions that, obviously, we watch.
You can go check them out.
I can't remember the numbers that I was like,
this is a terrible movie.
But in general, this movie for me, total revival of the whole thing,
of the reason why everybody loves the OG Halloween,
we bring it back, I'm all about it.
And obviously, H2O also did a really great job at that.
But then they went in other directions after.
wasn't very great,
but this is a really nice
rebirth to the franchise
and I'm totally down for it.
The more I'm remembering
the other movies,
the more I remember,
I think I had some issues.
I'm kind of nervous about going into them,
but we will see.
I think that this movie did a great job
of keeping up with the times
and generations and making it easier.
I love that people call it H-40.
That makes a lot of sense to me.
And I think it's really hard
to span over decades.
And I think that there's one reason
that this works,
and I don't think it would have worked
without this one reason, and that reason is Jamie.
Because without getting Jamie back for this,
there would have been no reason to do a Halloween sequel.
Agreed.
If we didn't have her, why would we do this?
Skip it.
So I think she spans the test of time as a final girl.
Like, she is just so strong.
She's the strongest part of the franchise.
And while we miss Loomis, to me,
this has always been a Lory franchise.
So I'm happy that she's the reason why this is working.
Yeah, me too.
And I know that the other one said, you know, she's a shut-in and this one.
The other one, she was dealing with her PTSD, but in a better way.
And I like seeing both of the sides and seeing those, both of the sides of what Lori could have turned out as and having this being a part of her life, that they're both in good movies that we enjoy very much.
Agreed, agreed, agreed.
So happy that we love this one.
What a fun Halloween movie.
Can't wait to watch the next two with you.
And any final thoughts for the people to air?
Oh, man, I loved it.
What a good time.
Great ending.
We'll see you guys soon.
Later, Rejects.
