Starting point is 00:02:18 know man she's the devil who this shows great the fact that we don't know and it's not obvious i love I do love that. Like, the normally we can guess. I, okay, give them the juice. If you're listening on Apple or Spotify, please give us five-star rating. Yeah, they should. Share it. Share your love with us. Please.
Starting point is 00:02:38 You can start with the juice first. You start with the juice. Okay. Pour that juice into that cup. Throw it over. I really, really enjoy that. I love that we open up on Christmas time. It's so great.
Starting point is 00:02:49 And that we have, because of the teacher, I always forget their name. Sorry, guys. Miss Jen. Miss Jen seeing Derek Hoff, I know his real name. It's something like that. He's a great dancer. Seeing him pushes her into that they get to do Beauty and the Beast because I'm really happy about it. Because high school musical too is great.
Starting point is 00:03:10 Love it. Saw the movie. But I want them to do something different. So I'm very excited about that. But I'm also very intrigued about what's going to happen between Miss Jen and Derek Huff in the class and who's going to win the Manky Award. but why was that introduced with the blonde girl just out of nowhere goes to the school and is auditioning and is now calling the school.
Starting point is 00:03:34 I feel like she's a spy. There's some weird juice there. I don't know. I won't be able to figure it out. But I did feel a lot for Nini because that legit was a little bit how AMDA was where I went to school. The teacher's art can be like that
Starting point is 00:03:48 and they're like old school. And if you arrive at class two minutes late, they'll lock the door on you. it's very intense and I didn't it was okay but it was cool but it was okay it was like a boarding school it wasn't a boarding school it's just like a college right but you go for for a couple of years and you just sing and dance and act all day and that's kind of what she is doing now but she's only in high school and she's missing all of her friends and I super feel for her because it is lonely and when you go into a new school like that
Starting point is 00:04:17 and you there's all these new rules and you have to learn like all these new plays and classical and like you're doing Shakespeare and other classical stuff and it's just a lot it's a lot and so I was like I feel you girl I feel for you and I love the way the show is presenting it in a very real light yeah yeah well I think she wants to be a creator she wants to be a storyteller and this is like you know there's certain there are those acting places that don't permit that And to me, every great actor I ever hear speak about acting allows for a sense of freedom. And this seems like this is the last thing. It sounds so constricting and awful.
Starting point is 00:05:01 And I would hate that honestly. I mean, I understand that's like some, there might be like certain plays that you're a part of or certain screenplays like where you want to honor the text like it's biblical and not deviate. So maybe it is too big of a stretch because you're like, you're not in a writing class, you're an acting class. You can't just suddenly change the text to your own liking, you know. So, like, I understand that. But it just seems like the whole vibe around there. It's like it's not encouraging being creative. It's encouraging doing what they want you to do and doing how they expect you to be.
Starting point is 00:05:35 Instead of what unique strength do they have to offer here. What can they bring that's different? So I don't know. I'd be like, yeah, having this type of restrictive acting. would probably make her just want to go back to East High. So she can just be her expressive self, you know? That's why there's influencers now. Right.
Starting point is 00:05:58 I feel like the best thing the teacher could have done is what they're basically doing is you're writing your subconscious. Like the thoughts is like, yeah, carry that scene out in your own words and now go back and say it the way that it was written. It would help you perform the scene. But I had totally experienced that. Like when I went to New York, they do not. They're like, you don't get freedoms. Do it and do it exactly like that. And here's a song.
Starting point is 00:06:23 Practice it tonight. Come back tomorrow morning and have it, have the song memorized and also have it blocked. Or a scene or something. Like, it's crazy. Yeah, yeah. Especially. And more than like those. It's like theater and film are very different.
Starting point is 00:06:35 Yeah, I agree. And in theater in particular, though, I don't know. It sounds like a goddamn nightmare. Yeah. It does sound like awful. Which is why I started to focus on film more. But if it's just like, yeah, you have to do it all in one linear order. Whereas in film, you're shooting like one scene at a time or a certain chunk at a time.
Starting point is 00:06:59 So it's a very different type of experience. But anyway, yeah, I mean, these two episodes are still good. They're still fun and enjoyable. And I like how everyone seems so other than that one girl seems so supportive of each other. I agree. Uh, there is something missing for me. Yeah. And it feels like there's a certain type of, like, like all the performances are still good, you know, obviously.
Starting point is 00:07:29 It's still funny. And the, the, uh, the songs are still good. It's just the. It's the stakes like you were saying. There's no tension. Yeah. There's like a lack of a, an energy that's sort of missing in the plot. Like, there's no real.
Starting point is 00:07:46 momentum to it. Yeah. Whereas like the first season starts off with like a dramatic situation, this breakup. And he wants to win her back, like very obvious like wise and goals behind this. And then the drama that erupts from from all that, you know. And so there's like something. Here there's like there's like no drama, I guess. Like yeah, Miss Jen with this thing they introduced to one of like get the prize and get back.
Starting point is 00:08:11 But I'm like, I just kind of learned about this. You know, like it doesn't really. And I think that's the. thing that's missing in these first two episodes is, oh, there's, there's a lack of, like, an emotional thrust here to be excited other than just like, yeah, I like beauty and the beast. I want to see them doing them. When they're doing the songs, I'm like, I like hearing it because I like beauty and the beast. So this is fun. But it's all the narrative around it that's kind of lacking a little bit of like energy, you know. Because like the, of her going to Denver,
Starting point is 00:08:41 her spreading that, it was like that was their tension in there. But it didn't feel that tight to I like that they added in the looks with Gina looking at him where I'm like, wait, she obviously still has feelings. And it is true that they would still be together if she had not said I'm leaving. And then he gets back together with Nini in quite a quick process. There could have been a way that they could have pushed that more together within this first and second episode to make the tension feel a little bit more. But also, we still haven't seen the teacher and Ricky's dad again, which I would like to. Like, where is that at? Like the tension there with the wife that that is still a story that we're I mean I would like to follow and see um
Starting point is 00:09:21 and I think obviously as the episodes go on the tension is really going to rise with this blonde girl whatever she's doing with the other school with dare cuff school um and that may give us enough juice there to be like oh now it's really going down and the first two was just the buildup but there's still some un like stuff that's not resolute from the past season that I'm like they could have juiced up more. Well, I think the play of why they had to make the play work was immediately felt in that first one. You know, a lot of them feeling like they have to prove themselves and whatever.
Starting point is 00:09:59 Like, it was different for like every single character, right? And there's no real, like, big why they have to do, why the kids have to do this play. Like, we know why Ms. Jen wants to do it to get, like, to win back. But there's the why behind it for the kids. kids is kind of like, yeah, they're just, like, real life for they're doing a play. Yeah. Yeah. So it's, like, pleasant.
Starting point is 00:10:21 It's not, it's not bad. It's just not as, it's not, there isn't a lack of an emotional, like, engagement that makes it, like, exciting, you know, to, to watch it be put together or to watch the audition process happen because it's like, why, like, the why behind doing it is not as strong. And so I think that is, I mean, everyone in the comments was saying, a lot of people in the comments were saying like season two is the the not as strong as the other seasons and three and four like the best yeah but but they all they all kind of prepped me for i was like i don't know i don't know what that meant yeah and but then watching it i was like okay i once we got to episode two it started
Starting point is 00:11:01 click for me of like oh there is this thing that's missing but i like the characters enough like i have so much goodwill instilled yeah that i like it so much about it still and you guys have fortunately prepped me for it not being as strong that I'm not like, what the hell? I want to give up on the show and I'm not like, mad at it. I'm like, what the hell, man? What the, what the, what the, what the heck, man? What's some of my Disney Plus show?
Starting point is 00:11:28 Not being, not being good enough for anyone. We thought it was going to be really good, man. It was going to be good up the stage to the sequel, man. Yeah. I kind of felt the way about high school musical, too. I'm like, yeah, stakes aren't as big this time. Yeah. But, no, I mean, it's still fun and enjoyable.
Starting point is 00:11:44 But yeah, it does feel a little bit like drier, you know. Yeah, like not as, just not as on the edge of our seats. Like, we really were in the first season. It was like, oh, my God, I can't wait. And I was mad that we couldn't just blast through. I remember when we got through the second episode of the first season, I was like, I'm upset that I can't go home and binge watch the rest of this. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:12:09 And right now I'm like, it's okay. I'll wait a few days and we'll do the next few. You know, I'm still very engaged because I do adore the crap out of the show. Please leave in the comments, guys. If there's a reason why Olivia Rodriguez is on FaceTime now and at the other school and Ricky is there, was their breakup between season one and season two or did their breakup happen after season two? I'm very curious if producers were like, oh, we cannot have Olivia Rodriguez and this guy on set at the same time. if the album had dropped
Starting point is 00:12:41 Like if driver's license had dropped After season one There would be like Oh no we can't have them on set at the same time That was a lot And a lot of drama I would make it happen I would make them fair
Starting point is 00:12:53 I know right Tune in I don't know because she I'd be that cunning producer I know But you also have to give The actor all out of grace Otherwise she's like I quit
Starting point is 00:13:03 I made $7 million on my very first album Do you know how much I'm going to make on my second? She's contractually obligated She might be I don't know. Disney makes you sign years of contracts. They do. You're probably right.
Starting point is 00:13:14 You signed up for a minimum of five seasons. Yeah. You have to do this. I'm wondering if just leave it in the comments. Like, when did the breakup happen? I need to know the timeline because is that why we're seeing her go to the other school and she's on FaceTime a lot? Is that going to be throughout the rest of this season?
Starting point is 00:13:30 I need to know the gossip juice. I need more of it in my life and you guys have it. And I don't. And I love you for it. Yeah. What else do you have to say? to the people, Gregory. I like Ashland.
Starting point is 00:13:42 I hope this blonde girl gets beheaded. Me too. Like, just, she's not a good person. I know. She's really not. And you know what? People like her don't exist. In our world.
Starting point is 00:13:53 Not in New York or Los Angeles. They're not real. Nope. They're all made up for telly. Not here in the real rejects. We're all cool. We support each other and love each other. Except that's what you guys should do.
Starting point is 00:14:03 Quoie will tear you down any moment's notice. It means I'm getting into a premiere early. Toy. Ah, Coy. Spread hugs, love, and laughter is what I tell you guys to do, and that's what you should be doing. That's what we're doing here, because we love you. That's it.
Starting point is 00:14:19 That's it. That's it, yeah. I think we're done. That's it, we're done. So, we love you. Keep supporting us, like, and comment on this video so we can watch the rest of it. Love you so much. Bye.
Starting point is 00:14:29 Bye.
