John Humphrey & Tara Erickson dive into Episode 3 “The Case of the Missing Lifeguard” and Episode 4 “The Sauna Test,” breaking down the eerie Mind Flayer possession of lifeguard Heather and Billy (Dacre Montgomery), the disturbing dinner scene with Heather’s parents, and Eleven (Millie Bobby Brown) teaming up with Max (Sadie Sink) to psychically spy on Billy. They explore the intense “sauna test” where the group tries to expose Billy’s connection to the Upside Down using extreme heat, resulting in a violent, terrifying attack that confirms their worst fears. Meanwhile, Steve (Joe Keery), Dustin (Gaten Matarazzo), and Robin (Maya Hawke) continue investigating the secret Russian transmissions, leading to their discovery of a hidden elevator and underground base beneath Starcourt Mall. Joyce (Winona Ryder) and Hopper (David Harbour) return to Hawkins Lab, uncovering evidence that the Russians may be reopening the gate. The tension builds as the Mind Flayer's control over the town grows, and the kids begin to suspect that Heather and Billy are just the beginning. From El’s blindfold scene to Billy’s possessed rampage and the first look at the creature’s grotesque body horror — we break it all down in full detail with emotional reactions and fan theories for what’s coming next. Thank you, thank you.
We are going to get into
our patron questions. That's what we do.
First thing, right after a review.
I'll go to the first one.
It says, Rhett. Hey, Taryn, Andrew. I love watching your reactions and rewatching this series with you.
The upside down seems to be evolving and the mind flare is definitely up to something new.
What's your wildest theory about how the mine flare is now operating in the real world and what its ultimate goal is with the possessed residence of Hawkins.
Again, I suck with these predictions.
I know it's a lot of laughter.
I mean, it's clearly building an army of horde, zombies or whatever, you know, soldiers.
whatever i just i don't know what the plan is maybe to get back into the i just i really have no
idea but it's it's scary it's terrifying like that one shot where it did the the face huggers on
the guy who runs the newspaper heather's parents that was really terrifying but i truly have
no idea what the end game goal is but to just see like the power level of what billy was able
to do against hell because we've never really seen like l
I mean, we saw Elle, like, at the end of season two where, you know, she was going up against the mind flare and when she closed off the wall and, you know, you had the whole aliens type of scene where there was a bunch of them coming at her. But, like, to see her have a threat level, like, fighting her off like that is pretty scary.
And I'm seeing a whole, like, soldier of, of, of, you know, possessed people, like, with the, being infected by the mind flare. I mean, we're going to need all hands on deck now from everywhere.
like I'm more concerned like how do we fight this off versus like thinking about what's the wild
theory about what's going to happen I really have no idea but I'm just curious how are we going
to fight this one off because always in the previous two seasons like we got out we're good
yeah what I have no idea like what do we do so I can't wait for the creative inventive way
but I think as long as we got Erica we're good right she's great she puts them Erica and
America yeah but what do you what do you think do you have any theories you know what's
the weird is that I am trying to put the pieces together between the Russians and what they have and that green juice and then the mind flare because it's like they're not connected but they are but like why because here's a thing the Russians were at that place but they were also trying to close the gate right and then they did and
And then that lady when she was eating fertilizer, here's what bugged me is that she kept saying,
I got to get back, right?
She said, I need to go back.
And she's eating like earth.
And I'm thinking, is she trying to dig to the upside down to like go back?
Like, is it just mad because it's trying to go back home and we close the gate?
You could be right.
I just to interpret it as I got to go back like back to where all the other people who are infected.
Like go back to there
But you could be totally right
Like maybe digging back
I don't know what the ultimate goal
Of all the possessed residents
And Hawkins would be
Except that
I guess you could just take over the town
But then what?
You just take over the world
Like you take over the town
With this army
Maybe that's what it wants
But it just seems boring
Like why?
Yeah I guess we'll have to wait and see
But I can't
I can't come up with any creative theories on what it's going to do.
But I'm just more interested to see, like, how they're going to stop it.
Yeah.
But, yeah, I'd say, guys, let us know your predictions, but you guys have already seen it.
So please don't.
But, yeah.
Totally.
Good question, Red.
Thank you so much.
Appreciate it.
Next question is from Amelia.
Or should I do this or?
Oh, sure.
Clap.
Next question is from Amelia Holmes.
Thank you so much for being a royal reject.
And for the question, we appreciated Tara and Andrew.
Andrew, been watching Real Rejects for a while now.
Y'all have helped me through some tough times.
Glad to help you.
New Patreon, because of you guys and The Stranger Things Here is awesome.
Very cool.
If you could play the spy, spin the bottle game like Ellen Max at the start of episode three,
would your answer be different when you were a kid versus their age versus now?
Huh.
Would we play the spy game?
You could invade people's minds with the vision.
Oh, I mean, I think the answer would definitely be different
Because I can't think of what I would want back then
I'd probably want to spy on like celebrities like I adored
Yeah
Just to see like what they're up to
You'd want to spy on like a crush, right?
Yeah, probably someone like that
Yeah
Yeah
Versus now I would actually be
Really scared to spy on someone
I would be scared to see something that maybe I wouldn't want to see
Like if you spied on their like weird
Like I don't know
Private time or like I don't know
You know what I mean
I don't know who I'd spy on now
Yeah I've in terms of now I for sure don't know
I don't know I'd want to spy on who's ever coming up
With the lottery ticket winner
That's a good call
Yeah
In terms of now I have no idea
But in terms of back then probably either
A childhood crush or a celebrity I adored
I guess back in the day it was Arnold Schwarzenegger
Was like my number one favorite
maybe a baseball player or something like that
see what their training regiment
see what the life of like
oh my god they get to go in the stadium
that's so cool like seeing what the behind the scenes are like
and also too like a celebrity on set
seeing the whole like all that
like seeing who the nice celebrities are
versus the nuts and I was like oh okay
I don't adore that person as much as I thought
they're not a nice person now that I get to see
the private time that they didn't know about
because I can invade their mind
probably something like that
I would do. Yeah, I like that. I feel like, because you ask, like, would you even play it? And I'm like,
I probably would at younger age now. I don't want to know something. I'd be like, I don't know if I
want to know, you know. So I think that's where I'm sitting with it. But thanks, Amelia.
Our next one is from Sassy Monster. Taryn Andrew. Myahawks' mother is Uma Thurman. What do you think of
Robin and Steve as a couple? Hashtag R plus S.
We are shipping it.
We love it.
I think they complement each other so well.
And they contrast each other so much because I think dust and deconstructed like how Steve felt about it so much like, dude, you're, you've graduated.
This isn't a popularity contest anymore.
Right.
And I think that was just the best way to sum up why she is so perfect.
On top of everything else, just how cynical she is and just, again, I just think their chemistry is just so wonderful.
and the way they interact with each other, it's so much fun.
I love their dynamic.
She was, I understand there is nepotism in Hollywood, of course, but she was so well cast.
I know we're only four episodes in, but I think right away in the first episode,
I was like, I really like this character a lot.
And four episodes in, I feel very strongly about saying that in episode one.
And I love Steve and Robin, so I'm going to assume from the question that hopefully that comes true.
But we shall see.
But, and I mean, they grabbed each other's hand, too.
Yeah, that was really cute.
Yeah, for sure.
Like, I think that was just a natural instinct.
Like, they were just drawn to each other.
So how do you feel about them as a couple?
I remember a couple episodes back where she was giving him shit.
And that is sort of also Steve's love language with Dustin.
Right?
And it also just made me think like, oh, Robin is great for him.
In that moment, he was sitting down.
She was standing up.
I forget what she said to him, but she was making fun of him.
And I was like, yep, that's it.
Love it.
Obviously, they already have chemistry.
And they're working together so closely to get this thing done that I think what is happening is that it's highlighting a lot of, like, her very smart side of Robin for Steve to see, although he wouldn't normally look at that.
Because Steve is still, as we heard in his big monologue, he's like, she's,
She's in band.
She's not popular.
She reads books or whatever he was saying.
That, you know, his first initial thing would be popularity or is like, is she a cheerleader and maybe blonde and super pretty or something?
Yeah.
And Robin is not all of those things.
But in working together on this, it takes him completely out of high school, finally, and into the real world working with someone that is an even match for him.
Yeah.
Which is a lot of fun.
And gets along with his best friend.
Dusted.
So.
But who cares?
It's like, how does she make you feel, Steve?
That's the most important thing.
I don't know if Steve has enough feelings yet.
Who knows?
That was wild.
And that was wild how we ended with Erica, Steve, Dustin, and Robin with going down that elevator or whatever that thing was, right?
Oh, right.
That was wild.
Yeah, that was crazy.
So anyways, thank you for the question.
Appreciate it.
All right.
Next question is from La Tech.
Thank you for being a royal reject and for the question.
Tara and Andrew, now that you are halfway through the season,
oh my God, we are halfway through.
Crazy.
Sorry if you didn't realize that already.
I think we did.
Yeah.
How do you feel with the different vibe of this season?
I always say every season of Stranger Things has a different vibe
with different influences, mostly from the 80s.
But season one and two are still quite similar.
This one, however, is quite different as they are doing a summer blockbuster vibe this summer,
which also aligns with it being set in the summer.
Also, which vibe influences do you hope for in the next two seasons?
Yeah, no, I'm definitely enjoying the vibe.
And you are right, as this one is taking place in summer,
and I'm loving also to some of the Jaws references,
as that was the first blockbuster ever, I believe.
But I think, too, a big theme of this is growing up.
As we've seen, like, with the kids,
like there's a lot of distance between them,
even though they still have that common goal of stopping the big bad
at the end of the day,
and that's still what brings them to.
together as well as like their love for each other and their friendship you know and and they find
commonality in that so i do appreciate that but i still think this this show has you know what
it's still you know doing is it's groundedness it's the emotional impact it has on me as a viewer
like for instance the scene with nancy and her mom were like it feels like her whole world has
literally just shattered she's it's seem like her and jonathan just broke up and then also she
lost her job in a humiliating fashion and her mom's like hey you got to stand up
up for what you believe in no matter even if the world is saying no you are wrong so i think like moments
like that you know even if it's still like feeling a little dissimilar to the first two seasons like
that's what i'm here for like moment if you didn't have the horror and the action and all the sci-fi stuff
which i love it's the character moments like that and the dialogue and the moments between joyce and
hopper and l and mike it's it's the character moments that are so damn good that keep me coming back
And in regards to which vibe influences
do you hope for the next two seasons?
I just want to be as good as we've gotten so far
in the two and a half seasons.
As long as the characters are continuing to develop
and we get very interesting storylines,
I don't have any particular vibe or influence
that I am, you know, hoping to see.
I just want to continue to develop story-wise
and character-wise in a way that feels natural and progressive
and also just feel, you know, very natural of the story-like.
learn and be satisfying so yeah i feel like um what is fun and i've thought about it is that the first
season was very Halloween i think the second season i thought we hit christmas no no the first one
was christmas second one was Halloween right one or the two i i i think two was Halloween two
okay two was Halloween the first one was Christmas okay so what i think they're doing what
I would hope for the next season, the season after that is that we're hitting another,
because like here we're hitting 4th of July, which I just think it's really fun.
They are specifically, I think, writing around a time in like a teenager's life when you're
growing up and what's a big significant moment in time that you would remember?
You would remember holidays, right, 4th of July, like summer.
And although this one's different, they're still really hitting it hard with that nostalgia
of factor, especially with Starcourt and all the old school like shops that you see,
which I think is a ton of fun.
I think also, if they're not going to do, like, what are the other cool?
I hope one's not like Thanksgiving.
That's a bit of a snooze.
But I hope they're still hitting the holidays for the next seasons to come.
That's what I would hope is that they're still writing around significant things that are
happening in a teenager's life.
And I feel like the biggest difference to me in this new season, one and two, slightly similar.
But I feel like it's because we had to set a foundation of them moving on with their lives and people have died.
And we had to slowly get back to what are these signs and is that thing still here, even though we saw it at the end of like two.
right um and i think that's why it feels so different and the first and second episode who was
directed by sean levy i thought that those transitions and the shadow shot and a lot of
that felt uh graduated and very i just thought it felt really awesome i've thought it was great
for a tv show um so it felt like it graduated a little bit from the classic style that they would
have utilized in one and two.
And I think I'm mostly just excited to see what holidays slash events are they going
to write around for the next seasons to come.
Valentine's Day next.
It's a good guess.
Yes.
It's a good one.
Okay.
Our next question is from Riley Peterson for Tara and Andrew.
How do you feel about the summer vibe slash atmosphere of the season so far compared
to the previous seasons taking place during the four?
kind of just answered that but again i'm really enjoying it i like that they are going into different
seasons each one it's it adds a different atmosphere each season i think it like gives it layers as well
and yeah i'm just i'm very excited as terra just said like what because i really have no idea what
we're going to tackle next because Halloween's my favorite time of the year for sure as well as
christmas which we've already tackled those two and then you got fourth of july so and i think like
too like thematically you know you can work around those things to to use the and we talked about
array like this one is about growth and distance so I'm very anxious to see what the next season
is going to be about and I think the show also does a great job of never forgetting the things
that happen in previous seasons and dealing with the ramifications and the consequences of those
and that again makes it feel so grounded in reality because yes you have monsters and
sci-fi and all that but these still these characters and this world still feels so real so yeah what about you
yeah um i i feel like the summer atmosphere number one with this show it's allowing us to see like
the different styles in regards to what they're wearing we get to go to the pool we get to see
bathing suits people are like different in the summer you see the summer fling we're not in the same
location i think it's smart writing that we're not because if we were still in school we'd be at
Hawkins all the time, right? So we got to get us out of there, get us into something new to really
shows how these teens are growing, meaning they have plenty of time during the summer to play D&D.
Do they want to? Absolutely not. They are all going off in their separate directions.
School would probably keep them closer together, but the summer is like if they're all dispersing,
but eventually they come back together because of what is happening in the town. And that's, I think,
a lot of fun to see. It's also fun to see them go.
and do their summer jobs.
Like we're seeing Jonathan and Nancy grow in a way that we have it,
which is outside of school.
Obviously, we see Dustin get back from camp and it's like imaginary girlfriend.
We see the jobs in the ice cream.
It gives us all these different environments,
which I think is a lot of fun and really smart writing.
And that's why I think it was,
even though my assumption is most people are going to say,
I really like it taking place during the fall
because they are rarely good at setting
that weather environment so that you really feel it, that they're doing the same thing with
the summer. And I think it's great. Absolutely. Um, Reject Nation. Life's only gotten busier,
filming, working out, getting a new studio, all the moving. But I've learned that when I stay consistent
on what I put in my body, I perform better across the board. No joke. Mentally, physically,
all in all. In case you didn't catch the memo, back in January, I weighed 218 pounds.
As of late, I'm down to 173.
Here's a latest photo right here.
I'm working on body composition right now.
I've got to get that full six-pack abs.
And Hewles' Black Edition, ready to drink, has been a big part of that journey.
Got so much in that fridge right there.
I really love the chocolate one.

good you toss in your bag drink between shoots and your workouts like me fuels me without slowing me
down whatsoever can drink it on the road love the taste genuinely awesome no chalky after tastes like
a lot of other shakes they got a bunch of other flavors chocolate's my personal favorite because
i'm a chocolate fanatic and someone who loves chocolate but has to avoid most chocolates because

Okay, from Nicole Hapgood.
thank you for the question from being a royal reject for tara and andrew how has the show compared
to your expectations is it what you thought it was going to be it's one of my favorite shows so
it's been so fun watching with you both can't wait to finish it with you too thank you Nicole
appreciate it so Nicole by the many people in my life they have hyped this so much no spoilers
of course I've been told like I'm a die hard fan of anything 80s so this show was literally
made for me so i had expectations for sure and it has definitely been like way better than i could
imagine also i had impossible expectations i feel because when something is hyped up so much you're
like can it really be that good i'm like oh wow it's even better than i could have hoped so
yeah in terms of like what i was expecting like i said it went way past that and i'm just loving it
so much i'm loving the horror aspect i'm loving the character moments the storylines are incredible
I'm loving how unpredictable the show can be at moments.
I'm loving that it doesn't rely on jump scares,
although it can have it like every now and then as well.
There's just so much to adore about the show.
I love that it takes place during different times
and from the summer to the fall.
There's so many different things that the song choices that they make to,
the aesthetics, the time it takes place in the 80s.
There's just the actors that they got so perfectly cast, everyone.
even all the new actors that they get each season they just really know uh they really got their
shit together when it comes to their uh their casting even like erika like i know she was just a very
very small player in regards to cast member when it came to the first two seasons more like
just making fun of lucas and his friends and all that was such a great moment i love when you can
like put a seed into the ground and let it blossom into a beautiful flower later on i i love when
shows or movies can do that later on it's just it's so fun to watch
And, like, that's when you know, like, it is being handled with such care and love by the filmmakers and the writer's room.
So this show is just, like, exceeded all my expectations.
And, like, I will say this.
I know we're still about halfway to season three.
We still got to finish this season.
We got next season.
And then season five, Tara, got to be honest with the rest of you.
I'm going to be so sad when we finish the whole thing.
But I just want to, like, enjoy what we're doing now and live in.
the present and i'm literally i'm having this is one of the best like times ever in terms of
reactions like i'm loving the show with every like every fiber of my being this is like this show
is just such a vibe and style and it just speaks to me it was i'll i'll leave it to what greg said he
said this show was made for you when he asked me to watch it about five six seven years ago i'm glad
i didn't so i could react to it with you and and you know share it with you guys but yeah
i understand his words now a lot more than i'm i'm i'm watching it
now that it was made for me so yeah but what about you so compared to my expectations um it's funny
i am rewatching this i love this show i have stranger things t-shirts do i remember much
not at all which is whackadoo freaking wild here's the thing i am not a person who rewatches stuff
i don't go back to a favorite thing go like i'm going to keep playing this movie or a tv show a lot of
people do that for nostalgia. I have never been one of those people. And honestly, you know when you're like,
even though this, I remember feeling like, wow, did you guys want stranger things? Like when it was
when it was happening and then when it every time that it, they would set a release date,
it just took over the world, right? I remember that feeling sort of like it felt like at Game of
Thrones. But it's funny how how much of the plot I don't remember, but it still gives me the same
feeling, except now that I'm doing it for my job, I have to sit and pay, I'm sitting and I'm
paying attention to every word and every detail versus, you know, at home, you get like
distracted. And I guarantee you, I probably was like, oh, I think I know what's going to happen
here and started cleaning. Like, who to, while still watching, because it was still one of my
favorites. But you guys, you get what I'm saying. So my expectations right now and me watching it
and getting here, they have far exceeded what I thought it was going to be.
I thought I was just going to like rewatch it and still just like really love it.
I am rewatching it and going, this feels like a brand new show.
It's so freaking smart and I love it even more for it.
Like I would say if there's things that you missed in watching this and you only watch some of the seasons once,
I would go back and rewatch.
Like if you're rewatching with us, yay.
because I think it's going to make this brand new season
that drops later this year, November 26, I believe,
that much more fun.
They should just drop the season.
I don't know how it, I haven't read,
but they should just drop it like a, like they're doing with all these seasons,
like a chunk of episodes like during like,
Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas, 4th of July.
Well, that's Thanksgiving.
Oh, okay.
November 26.
So that's why I was like, I think it'll probably be a holiday thing.
Maybe the last one might be Valentine's.
time's day we'll see that'd be cool and really quickly to your defense and i know some people say how does
terror forget like i've watched everyone knows i've watched smallville many many times but like the
second time i watch smallville i've probably watched it like 10 or 11 times i know that's probably
hard to believe how someone can watch something that many times when it's 22 episodes of season 10 seasons
but the point i'm making is when i watch that show the second time i'm like wow there's so much
i didn't remember i can't believe it and when you're not and when you are watching at home unless you
we're locked, fully locked in.
It's still, like, it's incredible because we consume so much media.
There's so much stuff that we watch.
Not talking about people who even do this for jobs.
I'm just talking in general.
Yeah.
We consume so much media.
It's very easy to forget stuff.
Totally.
It's weird that I forgot about that.
Just a lot of stuff.
Just like the newspaper, the lady eating fertilizer, like, what the heck?
Yeah.
A lot of those jump scares, wow, they're so good.
When I jumped and I got so scared.
I felt like, oh, my God.
Oh, do we have more questions?
I think we do.
Yeah, we do.
Oh, okay.
From Jessica Hauser, which monster so far is the most interesting to you?
And why?
Demogorgon, Dema, dog, Shadow Monster, and or Mind Flair.
Y'all are one of my favorite Real Reject dues, by the way.
Love you guys.
Love you right back.
Jessica Hauser.
Which monster so far is the most interesting to you, the Demiore?
I really like the demo dog.
I kind of miss it because it was cute.
Yeah.
What was it?
I think the mind flare.
Yeah, the mind.
I wouldn't say the most,
I would just say the most scary.
And also, too,
I like this running theme that it's continued from season two on.
And also the fact that I mentioned earlier,
because usually I go to at least in my head or maybe I do,
I don't remember everything I say out loud on here.
But like, I'm usually like, oh, we've got L.
we're good but like what you just saw there in the sauna room like holy crap and this is when like
it's got control of billy like i don't even know when it's like you know when it's in physical
form like what it's going to do i don't even know and it's got this army now so that's why i keep
saying like i love when i watch things like besides the fact of of course it being interesting
but i love menacing threat levels and i love the the idea of something feeling impossible because
and characters are able to overcome it in a satisfying way, of course.
And, like, it really feels genuine that they were able to overcome that impossible thing.
It's like, good God, that felt impossible, but that was freaking awesome.
And also, you see the resourcefulness of those characters.
Yeah.
So it feels like we're in that type of situation versus in the first two seasons, still amazing and awesome.
But it's like, oh, we got Ellen.
Yeah, the whole team pulled together, too, which was great.
But in this situation, I'm really like, I have no idea what we're going to do.
do and that's great because i can't wait to see how they pull out all the stops to do it together they
definitely keep us on our toes which is great it's great riding a hundred percent but uh you said
the demigorgian or d'artagnan i don't know who did you i was going to say demadog with that i went
with mineflare okay yeah sweet all right next questions from rennie for terra and andrew
hello my loves back with another question with robin being the nvp when it came to decoding the
their Russian mystery, I was curious out of all the real rejects,
who would you say would be the best at decoding, figuring out puzzles, and who would be
great at creating?
Well, we did do an escape room.
Yeah.
I was by far the worst.
This was the one and only time where everyone looked at me after 30 minutes of me not
saying Warren said, Andrew's been really quiet.
Yeah, we're like, are you okay?
Yeah, because usually I can't shut up.
Coding and figuring out puzzles.
I feel like I'm pretty good in an escape room, except when they,
Like, me and Roxy really, we were, we went at it.
Yeah, no, you and Roxy were really, like, locked in.
Coy's pretty good, too.
Coy was good, too.
Yeah.
Greg and John are good, too.
Maybe they would create them.
I think it's everyone but me.
I'm, like, the odd one out here.
I know, but who creates them?
I would say me and Roxy could figure it out.
Maybe some of the boys, but then I would just be like the boys can create it.
I feel like Aaron could be good to create.
Like, given some time.
And, like, Coy.
Yeah.
yeah something like that that's our answer for that one i like that that's a fun one that's a cool one i like
that too um okay next one is from kiley cool pepper for terran andrew after you see what happens
to billy doesn't make you feel remorse about what he has done previously or do you think he
deserves it i mean look we i know we always called him doucheerama and all that but i think i always
felt remorse and sympathy for him just when we saw what his his dad was doing to him
I mean, he's still at the, at the end of the day, he's a, I think he's 17, or however,
it doesn't matter how old he is.
Like, nobody deserves to be physically beaten up or, like, have mental anguish like that.
So, like, I've always felt bad for him.
So, no, I don't feel like he deserves it.
Like, so no, I would not, I would not go that route.
If anything, like, he just needs proper guidance and, like, someone to just give him a hug.
And this is the last thing he.
he needs.
Yeah.
So, no, I've never, not once ever felt that.
But I'm glad, like, we got that.
And I think that it's the power of the writers to make you feel sympathy for a character
like that.
Once we see, like, why he's behaving.
And it's like, he's a product of the environment around him of what he grew up with.
So.
The boy needs therapy.
What I think they have done a good job of is setting the threshold that you see he's
doucheerama.
he has a high temper
you start to see him
flirting with Mike's mom
but Mike's mom is also all about it
it's not just an
empty like land over there
where he's doing a lot of work and she's doing nothing
so that when we cut to him
and the lifeguard is in his trunk
that threshold
is like where you're like
oh we could see Billy crossing
that line because of
all the writing that has come before
and his like high temper and his
just overall involvement
driving his car, what a dick, he's been
to Max, like there's just so many
things. And then of course there was an
episode that it did make us feel a lot
for him, you know, once they, they showed us
who his dad was and it was like
it was not, it's not a good
situation.
It's, it's a, you know, that corny thing
where it's like hurt people, hurt people
except that it's true.
I know that it's like a bit of a meme
and cliche, but it's
very true, especially when it comes to
Billy, and it hasn't
fully rubbed off on Max, which is
great. So, of course,
no, I don't think he deserves it.
What I do think they did right
is that they put it on a character
where it was really believable
in the beginning that he has not
being controlled by a monster because they've
led us to believe he's kind
of a monster, right? Until
like, quickly after
that, we're like, oh, you have some bad
juice in you. Like, it's actually not
fully your fault like you're a jerk but you wouldn't do this right um which is is good for us for the
audience members because when you do see him crying in that sauna and he says max please forgive me
i've done bad things he made me do it i i i didn't mean to that when you hear him say that
i believed it and i know that the monsters make him grab the thing and then break out
And he's like, I'll kill you.
And he starts calling her bad names.
But I think they give us a little insight to who Max is.
I don't think, I'm sorry, who Billy is.
I don't think that he absolutely does not care for Max's sister, right?
So that scene right there, it gave us like that push and pull that you always want to see with a character,
especially when it comes to the writing.
And that was a great, great part that they showed.
And we saw a little bit of emotional resonance.
when it came to Max,
like seeing, like, her brother
being possessed by that
and, like, you could feel that
in Max's performance.
Yeah.
There's some layers there, too.
Like, obviously he's been really terrible
to her for what we've seen
throughout season two.
They haven't interacted too much since season three,
but, like, it's really going a bit deep,
like, in terms of their relationship.
So to see her have such affection
and care for her brother,
I'm like, I like that a lot.
So.
That's nice.
Yeah.
All right.
Last question comes from Tony Vitch.
This is for Stranger Things reaction for both of you guys.
Now that Robin and Max have settled a bit, we have the whole party.
Have your favorite characters changed at all?
Who are they?
P.S.
This series is what got me onto the Patreon.
But I've been on the channel for coming up to, up on 10 years.
Love all of y'all so much.
Kept me company on many bad nights, especially this series lately.
Oh, well, we hope you are having some better ones now that you are enjoying the show with us.
Thank you so much for the question. Tony. Appreciate you.
Who's our favorite characters? I'm still going to go. I love them all. Seriously. I really, really do.
I know that's so cliche to say. There are just so many great characters on this show. It's so hard to pick.
I just think I'm just going to go with my favorite relationship still that I'm going to go with Dustin and Steve.
I just think they, again, they compliment each other so well.
Like, even a scene where the stakes are so hot, watching Russians,
and they're spying on them, and they're making noise and, like,
you feel so scared from them and they're, like, arguing with each other,
like a big brother, little brother.
Yeah.
Like, it's just so organic and genuine.
If you die, I die.
And then with that, like, it's so great.
I love that.
I don't know how the writers came up with the idea to go,
we need to put Dustin and Steve together.
like that was they struck gold they really did it really struck gold on that so but so many characters hopper
joys jonathan there's so many great you can literally pick out any of them and i it's my favorite
character there's no one answer but what about you i would say that hopper is one of my favorite
characters and he has changed because you you ask like how and i'm thinking he has made the most
change over these past seasons to become vulnerable.
This season is where we see he asked Joy's out on a date.
He puts himself out there.
He, especially when he comes back and he's yelling at her and he makes it so obvious that
he's jealous about the science teacher.
And then when we see them go into that building and he's like, do you want to wait in
the car?
And then the whole speech about all I want is for you to feel safe and for you.
and for you to call this home.
But honestly, what he wants to say is us home.
We can feel it, except we were like a little bit tiptoeing around it
by the way he looked at her a few times in season one, season two maybe.
But this season, we're like going ham on it.
By the way that he looks at her, there was one moment where I don't even remember it was,
but we stayed on it a little bit longer.
she looked up at him and he just looked down or they were really close and he just like smiled
and we held on to that shot for a good like two seconds and it just gave us everything that the
audience would want out of a hopper and joy situation because a lot of people have been
waiting for that 100% and that gave us that chemistry and that's how I think he's changed
honestly a lot well some of the most with being the most vulnerable for sure it's also the fact
that he the idea of her possibly moving away understandably so in her part like the idea of a world
where uh was at hawkins without joyce like he can't possibly like yes he will still have 11 but he can't
live in a world where joyce is not around him or with him so and i and i love that too and the fact
that jose too took care of him took off his clothes and like nourished him and all that like that was
so sweet like we need to get them together terra it's got to happen i know it i know it we
hope it happens listen that was a lot of questions guys we do have to get out of here
great questions but we will see you on the next one please do all the YouTube things love you
guys so much see on the next one
