Starting point is 00:01:26 Yeah, you go, hear of planes. Let's go. cute you guys might call me creepy but my mind just kept flashing to them doing it the entire time whole episode i just kept going like oh why you why had that had that happened you know sometimes and a duck and a woman love each other very much let's start trailing to like what kind of sickness is darcy have to do with the duck and how is no one condemning this abomination of a child it's an ultimate convergence Greg
Starting point is 00:02:03 disgusting maybe it's gross that Howard's attracted to a human by you judge and Darcy and not I'm not going to blame the duck all right what a weird episode that was strange
Starting point is 00:02:20 it was strange it was a hot potato of like and then this happens and then this it was fun though it was fun in the way how the game of all all these different villains kept tagging in to get a piece of the egg action to get a good message about parenting.
Starting point is 00:02:36 It definitely felt like the most improv game of yes and. Like it felt like a bunch of writers just wanted to play and they had this idea. And they're like, but what if, but what if? And then it just kind of stacked. It didn't really have it. I will say it's probably my favorite moments, like interspersed with the most I was kind of like neutral. like the first episode I was like oh I want to connect more this episode I was connected but there were moments I was out of it but when I came back in I was like oh like it had a nice through line of heart so it's it's tricky to judge or to place in the ranking because it was just a good time and these are inherently fun and like you know serialized they feel like comics like they're this is a weird issue of what if yeah that was a weird one coy I don't even know how to talk about it I have no idea how to talk about it because I just want to talk about the mechanics of what went down yeah but never uh i've never studied inner species relations between ducks and humans so i don't have a lot
Starting point is 00:03:36 of commentary there reject nation i'm here to interrupt this video just for a little bit to let you know that for a limited time at rejagnation shop.com we have exclusive apparel just like the one i am wearing right now on my body this is a reject sweater the brainchild of the she checks tera erics and roxy strier they really were like you know we don't want to just only do a christmas one we want it to be a full holiday celebration. I absolutely love this design. I've been wearing this sweater an awful lot wherever I go. It's a fantastic thing for you to gift yourself or to gift to someone else this holiday season. And the other things that were launched were the brainchild of one Aaron Alexander, something that I was jealous that I never thought of. And that is
Starting point is 00:04:17 the Scar Bucks Coffee. They got the Scarbucks hoodie. They got the Scarbucks Coffee mug. There's also the Rejects mug as well. There's also an addition to that, the Agatha Bruce hoodie. I absolutely adore all these designs. I am so impressed with the three of them. We're able to concoct along with the amazing artists to help support them, of course. We really care about finding material that fits very comfortable. Is it comfortable or comfortably? Language. And on top of that, too, designs that we really feel resonate with us and can also resonate with those who watch us. You beautiful reject citizens. There's a barcode here that you can scan if you want to go to this shop or you can go to rejectnation shop.com. Treat yourself or treat someone
Starting point is 00:04:54 else. Either way, it's a great way to support the channel and to support your Your wardrobe collection. What is Howard the Duck's origin? In, like, when or how, or in the comics, he's an alien that, you know, as a duck. He's not, like, a radiated duck or anything. Like, he's, I thought it was a radiated duck. No, he's, like, that's just how his race is of ducks. He's just a talking duck.
Starting point is 00:05:17 That's just Howard the Duck, man. Say this, too. He's, like, so normal. He's just a duck. No, man, he's just a duck. He's just a duck over the race. Have you never met a duck with the voice of Seth Green? because this is just Tuesday.
Starting point is 00:05:30 Yeah, that was a really weird one. I don't know if I thought it was the best thing or the worst thing. That's what I'm saying. I have no idea what they did. It certainly is the thing that is the most like, oh, okay. Like, it's the most out there, I think, episode. Yeah, it's as if the creators behind the scenes were like, oh, you're just going to make us Marvel animation now.
Starting point is 00:05:51 We're not going to be canon. All right. What of Howard the Duck had to be with Darcy? And we did a little spit off. of one of the most hated episodes of season one, and we're really going to make some chaos here with some B-level villains that people were big fans. There are of Kat Dennings and Seth Greeter friends,
Starting point is 00:06:09 and they were like, we should do something together. I wonder if they pitched this episode. And they were like, all right, yeah. You guys want to do it. Because it's also very robot chicken. The way how we talked about, the other ones, I've been about relationships and watching how plots form, but what happens if these two connected?
Starting point is 00:06:25 And then they took this one, Howard the Duck and Darcy, what happens. They connected again. Chemistry, strong, solid. I felt like they were in the same booth really playing off of each other. I think they must have a booth for two people. Yeah. And the rest are recording independently because the two of them in each episode have felt very anchored in.
Starting point is 00:06:39 I think especially this one, because of the comedic rhythm between the two and the different types of reactions that you have to have in terms of responding with the, like, it's really dialogue heavy and a lot of their little banters. The relationship felt great. It felt, that was a weird part about that was like weird. That's what I mean by high moments. I would get pulled out of like,
Starting point is 00:06:57 oh my god she did it with a duck but they're so cute and she like produced an egg and i'm not i know you're not supposed to think about it but i think some people will and i'm not a creeper thinking about it when it starts off with her having just given birth to the egg that makes you think oh my gosh you did it with a duck all right just kind of do something my brain have you seen the original howard the duck movie there is a subplot of of he does it with someone yeah lea thompson like there's like a there's like a love story with the duck that's canonical to the character Well, you've never seen the first Marvel movie. You call yourself a Marvel fan, the first whatever, produced by George Lucas.
Starting point is 00:07:33 Really? Yeah, dude. It's a weird time. One of the most beautiful women is in love with the duck, and George Lewis produced it. Weird things happen. I want to watch it now. Yeah, that's why I want to start my Marvel. I want to do my Marvel rewatch.
Starting point is 00:07:44 Okay, so this was easier for you to adjust to. I also think I accept Duck Love. Don't remember. I'm bringing you to my sanctuary that I donate money to everyone. Yeah, Greg's a real animal lover. I'm not that kind of animal lover. it was weird man it was i mean i'm not denying that uh but the moments of like love and connection were there they were and it made it a weirder it was it was like uh it was like a comedic hijinks
Starting point is 00:08:10 it felt it had even though it wasn't a christmas episode i could see why they would make this their christmas one because of the parent themes a lot of the snow the kind of comedy it is of these two kind of parents trying to look out for their kid and just the kind of rhythm and comedy that it is does feel like out of a of a wacky Christmas movie a vacation or one of those it's like a family in peril in action and comedy yeah yeah so sometimes the jokes when you when you take characters and you it's kind of like like the later scary movies or those parody movies yeah when you give them like you take her characters and then you give a modern day type of joke to them where it sounds like so out of character but you know it's like something that people we
Starting point is 00:08:50 can laugh at because that's not how they would normally talk or that's yeah sometimes those kind of jokes just like pull me out the how do you do fellow kids kind of jokes like the yeah I know the the loki bits seem to be working for you strong than they were for me and sometimes that was yeah so I don't know I think it's funny I love Frost Giant Loki so much when you keep it in character I feel
Starting point is 00:09:07 more but I guess like that is the character yeah he was never like socialized the thing with the lodge and everything like that and like the black order wanting to go to the lodge I don't know it was a little funny see you're giggling about it right now I was a little I love that they're the most
Starting point is 00:09:25 terrifying. They're like, no, we just have a vacation. We have a group on. I think these guys were baked out of their minds and they were in the writer's room and they just, they were this definitely felt like that. I felt like they were just making themselves laugh and they wanted to just do something. And they're like, it's a final season. Screw it. Christmas episode.
Starting point is 00:09:41 Let's just do whatever the hell we want. And we're only halfway through the season. What's left if that's the one they put out at Christmas? The wackiest shit they've done. Uh-huh. And there are times I was like, I really admire it for how wacky it is other times i was like a little bit annoyed i was the most taken out of this one i think i think i think i was the most taken out and then put back into this one i stayed at like a six throughout
Starting point is 00:10:02 episode one this one i was like eight four nine two i like i like weird absurdist type of humor and an oddity you know like tim burton james gunn terry gilliam i like i like that kind of humor but i don't know sometimes they're like you got to be a marvel show i don't know i don't really have i don't know what to say about this one i don't know it's a weird once a weird one to react and then suddenly talk about i know less on the comments what your weird conversation kind of tired me out now we got four more to watch i'm so scared i'm so scared we're only halfway yeah oh god but uh i i'm happy for it to have happened i i didn't think it could get weirder and they just kept getting weirder so i'm happy to have been aghast what a weird time
Starting point is 00:10:45 that did a number of me holiday specials are always strange well thank you so much for being here see you tomorrow we got a four more to go You're halfway. Let's do it. Woo!
