Let's begin with, I guess, the crimes that were allegedly committed, Billy, that led to you having to be in court missing the show on Wednesday, not by you. Let's clarify that really quickly.Thank you. We're selected for jury duty to potentially render a verdict on somebody else's case. Did you end up on the jury? Take me through it here.Well, first of all, thank you for having me back. I'd like to say that I heard Wednesday's show and I heard a lot of cynicism as to whether or not.not, I was in fact even summoned to jury duty. So I brought my jury summons here to show you,Sheel, if you would like. I heard also your wife, I turned that part around, but I don't know if a
02:56juror idea is something that someone could steal, so please don't do that. But I will say this,I heard Sheel, there was some skepticism from not just you. Your wife as well was badmouting mepotentially. So if you'd like, you could send your email to me. Your wife's email, I'm happy to sendyou the certificate of completion of my civic duty.unfortunately, I was not selected this time.I went there.I watched some movies.I was not selected.
03:21But I will say, I am summoned an uncommon amount of times to jury duty.So down here we have three courts that can summon you.We have federal court, criminal court, and civil court. And I think it's because I changed my license.I had to update it like two or three years ago.I will get hit by multiple courts a year.and I try to say I was already summonedand like that was another one of the branches
03:45you still have to come and reportso I will have to report like two to three times a yearand I always report I always go onlineI fill out the paperwork I do that stuffbecause like I'm afraid that I'm going to be the onethat like a sheriff shows up to the houseand like arrests you for not fulfilling your civic dutyso they always call me back
04:02I get hit up every year for almosttwo to three times a yearyeah because I'll get each court hitting me upusually once a yearSo I'll have like a civil case and a criminal case or a federal case.So it's wild.I was selected one time to be on a jury.Brutal.
04:22I don't, while it's great to fulfill your civic duty, I don't recommend it.Like it was not a great case.It was like very sketchy, then goes down and then the rest of your life. You're like, did we do the right thing?Did we not do the right thing? So like not great. So that's when you kind of start.I don't do like the excuses when they do the questioning to get out.
04:41but I will sometimes be a little sassy on some responses just to put enough doubt into likethe lawyer's heads where they don't like select some example to give an example of a sassybilly response to that was my wife's only point really just to clear the record she thought you knowyou're a big fan of billy gil but you know what some of his responses maybe his mannerisms maybethat might some lawyers might be like let's just go in a different direction that's all she wasSo I did that. I practiced this time. I had one in mind for what it was going to be that I was going to do if we got that far, but we didn't. But I learned this on the last one, which is kind of just ask a lot of questions that caused doubt within the lawyers. So what happened on the last one was when I was being questioned, the judge made it a point to tell us one of the sides, the defense or the other side, whatever, is going to have a character witness. So the way a character witness works is this is not someone who actually.witness the crime. This is an expert who's being brought in by one of the sides, and they may or may notbe being compensated for their testimony as character witnesses in this trial. It's like, does anyone
05:50have any questions? So I raised my hand, because this was a long day. Aren't you describing an expertwitness, not a character witness? Yeah, sure, an expert witness. That's the one, Tom. So this is whathappened. This was, this was like a jury of like over a hundred people and they had already whittled it downlike two or three times. So we're down to like the last third of people. So it's getting likely that I get selected. So I'm like, I'm going to have to speak up or they may just like pick my quiet natureand just put me on the jury.
06:18So like this is a expert witness you said, right, Tom?Yeah, expert witness. So I raised my hand and I say, so the expert witness might be getting paid, correct? And they're like, yes, you know, we're likely getting paid. And I said, well, if they were not actual witnesses and they're being paid for their testimony, wouldn't they just be selecting people that are going to say what they want to be said as experts? And, you know, an entire field of doctors, would they not select the doctor who's going to have the view that's favorable to their clientand not one who's being unbiased in this situation?
06:52And I saw that the lawyer for the opposition like perk up and like do a little smirk and take down notes. And I was like, I either just got myself selected or I caused enough doubt in this situation.they're like, we are removing this guy from the equation entirely.Because once I asked that, the judge was like, well, theoretically, yes, but you know, it's notnecessarily like that. And I just remind the jury pool to remain unbiased and all this stuff.I'm like, I think, I think I did enough here.So you said it in front of all the other perspective.
07:21You should poison the whole pool.Well, no, I informed the pool that this person is just an expert. They're not necessarily a witness because when you throw the witness on there, you assume theysaw this situation happen. So there's a gray area there.I was trying to clarify for myselfand also potentially the rest of the jury pool. Now, I do feel bad for the jurors that go out
07:43that they're like, I really want to servebecause there's like the young people that called for the first timethey're like, I really want to serveand you see them and then the judge will ask them questions.Like, do you think you could be on bias?Like, no, and it's like, but I really want to serve. It's like, buddy, you're saying the wrong things here. You're never going to serve on a jury if you're telling them
07:58you're going to be on, you can't be on bias.So there's ways around it.You don't need to just jump into saying crazy, racist things that you see the internet tell you to do.Avoid that. That's insane behavior.Jill, how many times you've been selected ever, full lifetime?
08:13I've never been selected.I've gone.I've gotten the letter.I show up.How many times?Never actually gotten picked.I think, I mean, three times maybe in my life?
08:23That's a year.Billy having been selected,like having been called 50 different times,just the math.It's a recent development.I'm telling you,It's like the last three years.And I always write them.
08:35I'm like, I just got called. This can't be right. And they're like, nope, that was civil. This is a different court. You got to show up.And I'm like, this is absurd.Like, what if I just don't show up?You're not going to come to my house.
08:48What if I just, because it says here, you need to sign in to acknowledge that you received this. What if the mail carrier loses this paper?Like, we went to Sweden for a work event.I sent my daughter a postcard from Sweden. It was like a free thing.Just never arrived.Got lost.between Stockholm and Miami, just never got here.
09:06What if that were to happen to this summit? It never happens somehow.Well, that's our show. Thanks to tuning in, everybody. We'll be back on Monday.Cowboys have one of these games we talked about earlier this yearthat I feel like it's a home game against the heavy underdog, and everyone assumes this is just going to be a win,
09:24check the box and move on, and they're just flat.It didn't look like that shield in the early going. They go right down the field on the opening possession for a touchdown. But after that, both the offense being stagnant, the defense continuing just to have these breakdownswhere guys are wide open or there's a receiver open in the flat and two linebackers are both pointing atthem, but neither is actually going to cover him. I mean, that game had everything. It had Jalen Daniels. It had his mom devouring nachos for an uncomfortably long period of time on the show. Todd Bowlesgoing for a fourth and goal that we can dig into in some extent here. But the Bucks get their first
10:03windshield and the Cowboys take one of those losses that just has to confound all those peoplewho are on the train of this Cowboys team is going to be different.I mean, you look at the Cowboys, and I think if it's an offensive game like that, you can just be like, all right, that happens throughout the course of a 17 game season. They've been excellent offensively. The issue is the same issue we've been talking about for two years now, and we've been talkingabout since the start of the season, is that their defense stinks, and I don't know thatthere's a light at the end of the tunnel.
10:31Now, Joey Porter Jr. showed up at the stadium. Got ill, goes home. He doesn't play. That was another. I mean, talk about a strange season he's having so far. But is that going to save them? I mean, they've had, I was looking at this earlier today. They've now played 22 games since that Michael Parsons trade before last season. In that 22 game stretch, they're the worst defense in the NFL, the worst defense in the NFL. And I know Parsons is injured right now. And he wouldn't be helping them in a game like this. But you know what? I would feel better if I wereCowboys fan. I'm like, hey, we're going to get Michael Parsons back for the second half of the season because they don't have that guy. Joey Porter, Jr. is not going to be that guy? So I'm very curious whether blame goes there. Is Christian Parker feeling the heat? We'll talk about some other coaching situations today where they're already making some changes. Offensive coordinator, defensive coordinator. Do they say, let's just give it some time with Joey Porter Jr. and the new pieces. But it just feels like deja vu with this Cowboys team where you like the offense, you like some of the talent. But the defense is so bad that I don't know that we necessarily need to take them seriously.I feel like I'm not panicking as much as some people are within the Cowboys organization. And I guess Cowboys employees in the tunnels that are, you know, screaming at Dak Prescott, that, you know, he was embarrassing. And then he turned around. That was crazy.
11:52It really was because if it was actually an employee, that I think goes without saying is a fireable offense for that employee who's just frustrated there.Apparently it was a driver. So they've got places where the rich and famous can like have their black cars driven down to the bowels of the stadium.Apparently, the reporting on the scene was it was a driver saying that to Dak.But to your point, Billy, that shows how off the rails the entire night was, as I recounted several unique, memorable things from the game. And I didn't even mention Joey Porter and the garbage can full of his own vomit. And the driver getting the side eye from Jack after telling him the performance was embarrassing.Well, I mean, I felt like it was just a really bad series of unfortunate events in the third quarter that was the difference in this game, right?
12:38So the Cowboys are leading at half time. They're up 10-7.Then you have Bucky Irvin run for 72 yards right at the start of the third quarter. That leads to a touchdown right after that.Next drive, Buccaneers, Interception, they get the ball back. Then a Tess Johnson huge reception puts them again right in range. Then another Bucky Irving, then a Bucky Irving TD, then a fumble on the next kickoff, they get the ball back.the ball back again, then it seems like they're going to stop.
13:02Then there's a huge third and 21 conversion that leads to another field goal. And unfortunately, Duran Bland was kind of in the center of most of these big plays. So he slipped and fell on the Tex Johnson's 64-yard reception that leads to a touchdown. He slipped and fell on the third and 21 conversion that leads to a field goal. And then he has a gift of a pick six that's right in his hands that he ends up droppingwith like four minutes left in the game that would have given them the lead because theyI potentially tied the game because they were only down eight at the time.So it was a bad game by him where he slipped and fell a couple times on game-changing plays,
13:38dropped an interception. So I don't think it's full-on panic time for them because they still only lost by eight. They were driving there. There was another interception that hit the receiver in the face mask that bounced straight up in the air that effectively ended the game.So while it wasn't a great performance, they were still in it, granted to an 0 and 4-Bucks team with a backup quarterback that had no business leading that.game for so long. There's going to be a lot of attention to place on Christian Parker, who is a bright young coach. She's 34 years old. Okay. And anybody who thought he was going to step inran a complicated system because he trained under Vic Fangio and there's a lot of similar
14:14principles here. It was just going to be snap your fingers and we're going. I think overlookshow complicated schemes can be. And when you're trying to figure out how the various pieces fit in,when there's moving pieces seemingly every single week, including, hey, we got Joey Porter Jr. now. He's going to play more this week.08, he got ill before the game and decided not to take the,you know, wherever those flu pills are and try to puke it outand then get back out on the field.
14:40No, he's going home. He's not going to be able to play.Like, that creates a lot of things, but it's just, it's the fundamental things.I don't, listen, I'm not a scheme expert, Sheel. You know more about it than I do.But I would say when you're seeing guys wide open, when you're seeing multiple defenders, again, pointing at someone who's running wide open,
15:00that's not the scheme.Nobody draws it up like, all right, as long as they don't see the wide open guy, this is perfect. No, somebody didn't do their job or somebody had a missed assignment or they fell down to Billy's point. So I'm not panicking at all on the Cowboys defense.I'm more so just looking at that overall team. And again, they just seem to have these types of performances where, like, what happened to the offense to the whole middle,of the game. Lucent C. B. Lamb in the secondhalf to the quad didn't help.
15:28George Pickens ends up with like nine catches, but like Jake Ferguson has a ball, you know, go right off his hands for a biginterception late to Anzolone. There's times where, you know, they ranthe ball right down the field on the first driveand then Giovante Williams was basically a non-factorthe rest of the way. It's all these different
15:44things, I think, that combine. And asmuch as we looked at this as well, it's the O and fourBuccaneers coming in and, you know, are they even going to show up? That's still a talentedfootball team that had not playedwell through the first four weeks. And yes, they had a challenge with the quarterback. But Dallas was, it was a disappointing performance all around. I mean, it's a Thursday nightnational TV game, Sheel, and you could hear a pin drop for a lot of that game.
16:07Yeah, I don't think, I think you're right about the expectations for the defense, but I also, I mean, you're facing a rookie quarterback making his second start. It's just, you can't be given up thirdand 21s after, you know, what you gave up a couple weeks ago to the Ravens at the end of that game. And then the final possession, you have a chance.chance actually, a final chance, even after the Ferguson interception play, to get a stop and get theball back and you're giving, you can't stop the run. You know, they're going to run it three times in a rowand you can't stop it. So there's kind of a lot of alarm bells with that defense where maybe it getsbetter. But again, I think when you reach this point in the season, five games in, you have some
16:45worries. On the other side of the ball, the bucks, you know, I thought the story for like threeand a half quarters was that Todd Bowles, veteran coach, respected by, you know, so many people in theNFL. I was like, oh, he's got his fastball back because they are making Dak Prescott look bad. They are pressuring him. Their defensive backs are playing well. I was so ready to make thisa Todd Bulls celebration. And then just one of the most baffling decisions by any coach this season,I think. And I am a pro analytics guy, but analytics doesn't mean you always go. And the fact thatBowles is always so conservative, he's always wants to kick, wants to punt. And then the one timewhere it's like, no, you actually should kick.
17:25Make this a three possession game. There's only seven minutes left. The Cowboys aren't going to get the ball back.He decides to go for it.And that almost lets the Cowboys back in the game. That was tough.Todd Balls, I like the game plan.I like the defense.
17:37But that decision I thought was shocking.Let's set the scene for this. For anybody who didn't see it or is trying to remember exactly what the situation was, there's about nine minutes left. They snap the ball at 836 of the fourth quarter. They're up 14 points.it is fourth and goal from the one. It's not the one inch line.
17:56It's a legit. You got to get some yardage here. And it's not a sneak. They're far enough away that they're handing the ball off.Sean Tucker was moving the pile all night. But it's the difference between you kick the field goal there and you go up 17.Or your best case scenario is you're still up three scores going up by 21 versus if you miss it,it's still a two score game.
18:18And sure enough, the Cowboys go right down the field 99 yards.I did Billy consult with a couple of the game management for other teams because every team, what they do is they watch these situations, whatever comes up in games, then they talk it out, hey, how would we have handled that? What do our charts say?And I'll give it the short version of it, which is the charts would say fourth and goal from the one, especially if it's a shorter one, this one's kind of in a little bit of a gray area, but it's a clear go if it's the second quarter. It's a clear go just in a normal situation in the game.
18:49But the way that the math works on the analytics side, and this is where gut and instinct does come into it, is you're counting possessions. What are the odds the Cowboys, who at that point had had one touchdown possession in the game, we're going to come up with three to beat you in the final 836.That's where, and Bolza actually addressed it a few minutes ago saying, I got greedy and went for it.That was definitely on me.That's one that I know everyone's like analytics are run amok, and you can certainly debate, you know, the Cowboys, Billy.going for two on the ensuing possession. But this was not the analytics. This, if anything, is Todd probably going against what the numbers people would say?
19:28Because the time left in the game, they get stuffed. And I don't think he or any of the other teams that saw that happen last nightare going to have that happen for quite a while.Yeah, I'm glad that he said that because my thinking what it was going on isTodd's feeling himself right now.Like, he's in a position that no one expected him to be in.Right now he's up 14 points against the Cowboys.he's looking to make this a 21-point lead
19:51and really make a statementbecause we've talked about it,there is some pressure on him.He is listed as one of the guyswho's on the hot seat, and they've gotten off to this rough start. He's lost his starting quarterback, you know, for however many weeks it is
20:06that Baker's going to be out, who's now their franchise quarterbackwith the deal that they gave him.So it is kind of tough sledding ahead for the buck.So if they have this opportunity to almost embarrass the Cowboyson national TV,on Thursday night football and go up by 21.I think that's probably along the lines
20:23of what he was thinking is, let's make a statement here, right? And then kind of get some of the heat off of me.But then it backfires and it's like, oh, I'm Todd, but where are you thinking exactly there? So it backfired in that sense on him.I would just, and, you know,if I were him, if I were some of these other coaches,I said this, Nick Siriani,
20:41just get the person in place that you trust in the booth,in your ear, and just follow what they sayevery time. I think the gut instincts just, it's not going to be a good process. You're going to get thingswrong. These models that they use are so intricate. People are like, well, they don't, you know, take into account the score or the time or, you know, the opponent. It's like, no, they actuallytake into account all those things. These are, these franchises, they're investing a lot of moneyin their analytics departments. I just think that would be the right way to go because you're handlinga lot of different things and you're right. He might have looked at it and said, we've been running the
21:16football all game long. I want to show my team that I have confidence in them. Let's go for it.Let's punch him in the mouth. And it's like it did almost cost you the game. If that ball doesn'thit off of Jake Ferguson's helmet, who knows? That's all we're talking about today is Todd Bowles. What were you thinking in that instant? So if I were a coach, if I were running an organization,I might have it as a mandate for the coach. Like, listen, we are going to hire someone who you trust. They're going to have the information. They're going to be working on this all week long toTom's point. They're going to be watching all the other situations around the NFL.This is going to be their job. Just trust them. It's going to lead to us making better decisions
21:52than if you're just like, I'm kind of feeling it here. So I don't know. That's where I stand with it.If the Bucks had lost that game in that fashion, they would have been 0 and 5 for the season. They would have lost 12 of their last 14 games dating to last year's buying.Wow. I didn't realize that. I don't think Todd Bowles gets fired today anyway. The glazes haveown the team for three decades. They've never fired a head coach in season. The Bucks still haven't evenplayed a division game, a division in which, depending how this weekend goes, they could be onegame back of the division lead when they come back from their mini-buye, but it would have beenallowed today to lose that game in that fashion and you can trace all of it back to a head coaching
22:34decision. I don't want to say Todd Bulls got lucky because he called a great game defensively.I thought Zach Robinson, that's by far the best game that he's called, definitely in Tampa.maybe in his entire career going back to Atlanta with a young quarterback. He played to his strengths. He covered up Jalen Daniels weaknesses, allowed him to use his legs, got him some easythrows.I was really impressed with Jalen Daniels. But if that game gets away from, you can only imagine the conversations we'd be having
22:59on this show.Conversations similar to the ones that we've had on and off about the Broncos and what'shappening to them offensively this season and a little bit the Texans and why the numberone defense from a year ago has not been the same. Both those head coaches make a change in the past 48 hours since we were last on this show.Sean Payton taking over the offensive play calling starting this week's Shield for the Broncos.D'Amico Ryan's taking over the defensive play calling for the Texans. The Houston situation, there's a tinge of irony because the guy who was the hero of last season for saving your defense,
23:34Matt Burke, is now the guy that you're benching from play calling to save this season.the Broncos one, it was the number one question I got asked from people within the leagueshield all offseason was how long that can last? When's Sean going to take over? Sure enough, here we are four weeks into the season. I thought it would go longer. I really did because of theorganizational elements of this. But bottom line, when you have one of the best play callers in modernNFL history and he's not calling plays and things aren't going well, it's the simplest fix is just say, hey, we're going to study the ship here. The funniest thing about the Peyton situation is we were all kind of making jokes about it.
24:12When it happened all offseason, this summer, just like, hey, what's the over-under for whenSean Payton takes back play calling duties?Because Sean Payton is great at what he does.He also has a huge ego.And he also wants to win. It's like he's not going to sit back and be patient if the team's not winning and he doesn'tlike what he's seeing offensively and being like, okay, well, we're trying to develop a youngcoach.
24:33I mean, I just don't, I don't think that that's how Sean Payton is.is wired here. And so it kind of played out how everyone was predicting in the summer. You look at theiroffense. I was just digging into some of the numbers today and a couple things that stand outcompared to last year. Certainly the offense is performing worse than it did last year. One,the run game has not been, I think, what they expected or hasn't been as good as last year. You know, that's supposed to be a great offensive line, but they haven't figured out how to run theball efficiently. And then the big thing is throwing the football downfield. You know, I think evenearly last year, you would watch Broncos games.
25:06And Bo Nix wasn't always connecting, but it felt like there were always opportunitiesthat were schemed up,called at the right time, where they could hit on an explosive play downfield. And this year, it's been a lot of checkdowns. It's been a lot of throws behind the line of scrimmage. It hasn't been enough explosive plays,
25:21enough shots downfield. So I think those are things to keep an eye on here with Bo Nix.But yeah, not surprising.Kind of funny. You know, he takes over as they're about to take on this Chargers teamthat hasn't won a game, that smart coaching as well, Philly. You know,
25:36you don't know the right timing.Yeah, well, right timing or like kind of,hey, here's an opportunity to kind of really make myselflook like I solved this problemby coming in and,you know,
25:46preying on a weaker team here in the charges. It is funny that this played out the way that it did, right?Because in the off season,we talked about everyone's like kind of surprisedthat Sean gave up to play calling dutiesand you're saying, both of you're saying, everyone's been joking like,
25:59when's he going to take this back? And sure enough,it happens right, when they're going to take on an O and four Chargers team. When they've had a tough schedule.I mean, we've talked about us a couple of times. They played the Chiefs, the Jags, the Rams, the 49ers.I mean, they're two and two.
26:11They're not terrible, but they're not what you'd expect. And to your point with the stats, you know, last year their offense was top 10, top 15 in a lot of these categories and yards per game, points for game. And now, you know, yards per game, they're 28th and passing yards. They're 20th.So they're towards the bottom, 29th and rushing yard for games. We've talked about how, you know, J.K. Dobbins has it.lived up to what they thought he was going to be this season so far.So there are disappointments.
26:37The play calling because of the inexperience of Webb,I think someone or some of us would think it's going to be on him,but they have been underperforming and they've been playing against superior opponents so far.So this Chargers game seems like a get right game for them, and they'll kind of figure things out.And then it'll look like, oh, look, Sean made the right decision when really,timing-wise, he made the most opportune decision, I think, here potentially.By the way, Domingo Ryan takes over defensive play calling against the Titans.
27:05That's really.Another O-N-4 team this week. That one, to me, in fairness to everybody involved, it's one of those chains for the sake of change. And I get it.You're O and four. What buttons can you push in Houston? You're not going to fire the offensive coordinator Nick Cayley because the offense is pretty good. You're not going to bench C.J. Straub, because Stroud's been playing pretty good.
27:27D'Amico Ryans is not going to fire himself. He's not going to fire Matt Berk.who's a really smart coach. So, all right, what chains can we make?Well, how do we switch this up?Take over the play calling. You know, if they're, listen, if they stop one of those two-minute drives, they'll lead three times and are 0 for three on stopping two-minute drives.
27:44Maybe we're not in this spot for Houston. But, you know, both these teams, they're looking for a spark. It's getting late really early in some places, including for the chargers, including for teams like the Broncos that think that they shouldbe better, the Texans that certainly.think they should be better with the bucks. Who knows what they might do on the mini buy,but there would have been a lot of pressure on for Todd, assuming that he was there to what can Ichange up? We're going to get Baker back at some point, but how are we going to navigate this?
28:15A lot of different moving parts, but we are getting to that portion of the season, man.The trade deadline is one month from tomorrow as we record this. So this is where teams are figuringout, okay, are we the ascending team that's going to buy? Are we the descending team that's going tosell? Are we one of those teams that's right in the middle where we kind of just got todecide for ourselves because we don't know. Are we good enough that one move's even going tomake a difference? Are we bad enough that we should just go, you know what? Let's trade a guybecause we can get a pick and turn the attention to next season. That's why these thingshappen at this time of year. That's sometimes why coaches and coordinators, we haven't had a
28:49firing yet, but we've essentially had a demotion for a couple of guys this week. It's all partof figuring out what is your team. Can we fix it internally? If not, we either try to fix itwith some external moves, or we say it's not fixable right now.Let's make sure that we're making moves that are going to help us fix this thing in thebig picture as we go into 2027 and beyond. We got some really big games coming up this weekend. We got our main characters for Week 5 Sunday coming up right after this.Week 5 Sunday, right around the corner, some massive games, division games.
29:26And we've got our main characters. The guys, the people, the play.players, the coaches, everyone involved.I think Billy Fick picked the Raiders fans last week.We were a very loose definition of this. And that was not your best, Billy. What do you mean? No, that was, hold on a second.
29:42That was an important thing. We were kind of talking about the fan base and who had home field advantage. And then what ended up happening was kind of what we discussed, which was I wasconsulting secondhand ticket sale markets and what area codes they were selling tickets to.And we thought that the Raiders were going to have a substantial.fan base advantage because a lot of it was localLas Vegas, you know, zip codes and such. But those ended up being just Chiefs fans that lived in the area,
30:08apparently, because it was definitely not a favorable crowd for the Raiders there. And I would say if you see the outcome, some might argue that the fans did play their part in the outcome of that game.So I will not take the L on that one.My main character is now 0. and 3.It was not as bad for C.J. Stroud last week as it had been the previous couple of weeks.for Aaron Glenn, among others. This is one, my main character for week five,
30:36is somebody who I think that everybody's going to sit downvery early on Sunday morning to watch this game. We'll go into it thinking, it doesn't matter what he does. The Eagles have no chance against the Jaguars in London. They are, depending on where you look, seven and a half to eight point underdogs, which, you know, when is the last time the Eagles were seven and a half
30:57or eight point underdogs in any game, anywhere in the world. It's the biggest underdog line for themsince Nick Siriani took over his head coachand Jalen Hertz took over his court. There hasn't been a game like this to answer your question. So my main character is Jalen Hertz. And here's why.
31:15Everything around him right now, especially offensively, is basically on fire. He's going to go into Londonwithout his top two running backs, including Sakewan Barclay. Thanks, Bigby, it's also out.It seems like no, Devante Smith. There's no divot on Tavion Wix.
31:32Your right tackle retired right before the game last week. You just traded your two-time Pro Bowl Center who wasn't playing very well at Guard, but you got all these moving parts in front of you.The only thing that is like steady in all this, Dallas Goddard's been sideline as well.Everything has been a mess right now.The one guy who we know is going to be out there is Jalen Hertz. And Jalen Hertz, we talked about this shield on the pod the other day,has not played bad under the circumstances with all these things happening,
31:59the injury's new scheme that's not really on paper a fit for him. He's played okay football.Seven touchdown passes, three interceptions, has not been as much of a threat running thefootball. He's only got one rushing touchdown this season. But this is a game where if they'regoing to have a chance against the Jaguars team that people are essentially anointing now as maybethe AFC favorites, this has to just be a total Jalen Hertz bleep you game. It has to be him,not playing outside the system, not playing hero ball, but just going, I need to come out andplay the best game of my entire life. Everyone is writing off the Eagles. I think even more thanthey normally do in Philadelphia after a loss because of all these things that are happening and are
32:39they going, are they going to take? I mean, I got people calling me going, are they really tradingand say Kwan? And I'm like, what corner of the internet are you in? No, not right now, but there's certainlya lot of questions about exactly what the future holds here in the near term for the Philadelphia Eagles. If Jalen Hertz can come out, it's not a huge audience for those early morning Sunday games, but if you can come outbefore a bunch of people and play well against the Jaguars and somehow find a way to get a win.A, we're right back to the Eagles or the favorite in the NFC East.B, it maybe calms some of these things down where, okay, now we can get back, Sequin. We can get back Devante.
33:15We can get a little bit healthier. We can figure out the offensive line that anytime you're changing scheme, there's going to be guys who aren't in the right place.Like there's going to be some guys that's like, hey, he was a great fit for the old scheme, not for what we're doing now.In other words, the only hope shield that the Eagles have hereis Jalen Hertz has to take over.Yes, it would help if the defense showed up.That would also be great and keep this a close game.
33:38But Jalen Hertz has to have a really memorable performanceon an international stage. And I'm going to be watching him to see a guy who is that much of a competitor. We all know that about Jalen, how hard he works, how much he cares.Let's see what he comes with on Sunday.Yeah, so whatever it takes game, it doesn't matter what thepassing numbers are, what the rushing numbers are. It's like, you have to be the reason why yourteam is going to win this game or keep it competitive. And if you zoom out, I think that's been the
34:06conversation around this organization for four or five years now. They've gotten to the playoffs fiveyears in a row. They've gotten to the Super Bowl twice. They've won a Super Bowl. Yet there's always thisconversation. How much of it is because of Jalen Hertz? How much of it is because of everything else?Even with Nick Siriani, it's the same question. Is he, are we sure he's a good coach or is it agreat situation compared to what other coaches are in. And, you know, part of those conversationshave absolutely been fair. They've had a loaded roster. They have a great GM. They've had a greatdefensive coordinator in Vic Fangio. There's been a lot of pieces in place that puts the quarterback andthe coach in a good situation. And now everything's flipped. That's the story of the first four weeks here.
34:46It's not a great situation. Tom just went over. I mean, they could be down five or six startersoffensively in this game after an offseason in which you traded AJ Brown. After an off season in whichyou got rid of your offensive line coach who had been a stalwart for the organization. So it's a much different situation for both the coach and the quarterback. And we have to see, are they up for it?Or is this thing going to go south?Because I don't know. The people are calling you about Sequin Barkley, I would be like, well, wait a couple weeks.
35:12Let's see.I mean, I think there's a lot of stuff in play for this organization where if things go southfor the next two, three, four weeks, they actually could be looking to move on from a lot of these veteran players and say, hey, let's reset this thing and look ahead.Or they could come out in surprise like we saw the Bucks do on Thursday night, big underdogs, island game, you win that game. Now all of a sudden it's, hey, they're in first place potentially in the division and they'regoing to be fine.
35:39Do Eagles fans want the Eagles and Nick Siriani to fail?Like from afar, I'm just kind of like, I watch it and it's like they want, they've wantedto fire him for a couple years, but they haven't gotten the ample reason to.to fire him.It seemed like the year that they're going to,then they go on a run, they make the playoffs, and they're like,
35:57well, we can't do it now.I mean, they've lost back-to-back games. The one against the Rams, they choked away, which was bad.And then, you know, you had the game against the Bears, which was embarrassing.
36:07But there's still only a game out in their division. And it's a very winnable division. There's no need,I don't think,to like, sound all of the alarms. You've mentioned they're dealing with injuries. They've traded someone, someone abruptly retired in the middle of the season.
36:22So things aren't going, well, but, you know, there's still plenty of time to turn us around.Do you want to know what Nick Siriani's message was to guys knowing that they're downto linemen this week? You know what he told the guys?He said, lock arms and let's go.So Nick Seriani's not backing down. He's telling us guys.
36:37That's what we say before every podcast.Yeah, I don't know if he got that from us.It's hard for us to lock arms just because we're in different locations. We could like digitally, like back in the COVID era, like digital hugs and locking arms andsuch.Like, we could do that if you wanted to.But guys, I'll remind you, the Eagles are too.and oh in international games, okay? And I know that this is something you just made fun of me for,
36:57but I was looking up and they're expecting this to be a very favorable Eagles crowd in London, which is a disgrace if you're Jacksonville. I mean, Jacksonville could not flirt with a citymore than they flirt with London than they do. And that's basically their second home. And they stillcan't get like a hometown advantage in these games in London. You're not have more Eagles fanstraveling to cheer on the Eagles than your Jaguars fans at this point. Well, are you aware of thetravel situation here? Not to go back to week one and top.Australia trip, but the Eagles are flying on Friday, arriving in London.Thursday night. They left Thursday night. So they'll get there on Friday.
37:34Yeah, time change and all that. It's a very short. It's a shortened trip compared to the Jaguarsand I think compared to some other team. So it's not the same as Australia, but it's a little bitdifferent. You know, I think there's some of that element of, hey, let's make sure we come backright after the game and we're not jet laggedwhen we come back andall that. So I don't know, something else to maybethese travel things have become like the biggeststory in the NFL. When is your flight
37:59leaving has become the biggest storywith every international game in the NFLthis season? Less we forget, too, as I wasrecounting all the injuries. Hollywood Brown alsohas been hurt for two weeks and it's still not practicing. So basically your top three receivers, your top tworunning backs. Dallas Gauter has been practicingon a limited basis, but he hasn't been playing
38:15recently. And thenno Dane Johnson. Obviously, noCam Jurgens, no Landon Dickerson. It's a lot.Injuries are a real part of the game.I know they're never an excuse. When you look at how they pile up for certain teamson one side of the ball or the other,
38:31the Eagles are in for it.Let's see what Jalen Hertz has.Shield, your main character, Sunday Week 5.I am going to Seattle.49er Seahawks, two of the best teams in the NFL.And I'm going with Kyle Shanahan.I know everybody talks about Kyle Shanahan a lot. He's been in our life for a very long time.
38:48if you've been following the NFL.Last year, they got a week 18 game against the Seahawks, and then they have a playoff game against the Seahawks. And in those two games, they get outscored 54 to 9th in those two games. Now, they had injuries. They were banged up.The Seahawks are a great team.We know all of that.
39:09But if you look at it just offensively for the 49ers,those are like two of the worst games under Kyle Shanahan over the last five years.I mean, it was like nothing we're used to seeing with the 49ers.And I know we had this conversation a couple of weeks ago where I was posing the question,if you just have Shanahan and Purdy, can you overcome almost any other thing on offensewith the way the quarterback's playing and the way the coach is coaching right now? That wasn't the case in those two games. But now they get another chance.
39:38You get George Kittle, who's healthy. You've had the best offense in the NFL over the first four weeks here.Mike McDonald gets a lot of praise as the best defense.as the best defensive coach in the NFL.I think this is a nice sort of,I don't know if it's a measuring stick gameor a pride game or whatever for Kyle Shanahan. But it's like, no, I can still go up against that guy
39:57and I didn't have all my guys last year, but this is going to be a different situation. And can you imagine if they go 5 and 0with wins over the Rams, wins over the 49ers, wins over the Broncos? And is this the year where we've waited so long?Shanahan has just been knocking at the door.He can't just knock it down.
40:17and say, I've got the Super Bowl. What if this year, with the Rams coming in with all this hype, with the Seahawks as defending champs, what if this ends up being the 49ers year?I think that's potentially what we're talking aboutif they beat the Seahawks in Seattle and go 5 and 0 this season. Is this their first actual, you think, measuring stick game for both of these teams?
40:36Because you look at the schedule. So the Seahawks, they play the Patriots, and we've seen how offensively struggling the Patriots were early in the season. So they got the Patriots early. That was a win.we thought, oh, this is a Super Bowl matchup. It ended up being like not the most exciting game. And that's when they were struggling.
40:51Then you had the Cardinals, which we thought,oh, the Cardinals are a good team after week one.And we realized like, oh, they're still kind of the Cardinals. The commanders game, they lose the commanders game, but they out, they got more yards outgained them for 37 to 258.So like, that was a pretty one-sided affair that ended up with the score being closerand they lose the game, 33-31, that they should have won that game. And then the Chargers have been a struggling team.
41:13They win that game. And then on the flip side,49ers beat the Rams, but there was the travel stuff there.I think we all still think that the Rams are a good team. Then they play the Dolphins, Cardinals, and the Broncos who just made a change at play calling. So not that they've had easy schedules, they've been playing playoff teams, both of them, right? But this is one where you'll see a team that's 3 and 1 against a team that's 4 and 0,where you're really going to see a good divisional game to kind of figure out where each team is against quality opponent, right?
41:41The story of the 49ers season to me to this point,Yes, the quality of the opponent's definitely always part of it.That's still a good Rams team and the adjustments Kyle made in the second half.To me, that's what turned it more than the travel or how are the Rams feeling. It was just the things that he does and the way that he creates mismatches is better than just about anybody in the entire league. They have injuries every year.We talk about that storyline all the time and you can go right down the offense with all the skill guys,Pearsall being out for the season.
42:11Then the rookie gets hurt, scribbling in the opening game.Tonjus is out for the season. All those things are true. What he has, though, are the Kyle guys are healthy. It's Debo, Kittle, both guys who have turned back the clock,at least in the early portion of the season. It's Christian McCaffrey and it's Brock Purdy.I'm a believer if Kyle has those four guys,
42:34he can figure out the rest.Yes, it's more complicated when you don't have all those ancillary pieces.Use check is also a Kyle guy. He's banged up.It sounds like a little bit of time here. But those core four dudes on offense, that's what it all runs through. That's where the entire foundation of that offense comes from. Will those guys stay healthy for 17 games?
42:56History would tell you, probably not.I mean, they've all had various injuries through the years that have sidelined him.Not as much Debo.Debo's been more just kind of like the play going up and down.He was probably a little heavier in his later years on the 49ers and, you know, got banged around a little bit.But he looks great.Kittle looks great.McCaffrey's been okay to this point.
43:14But you know the big McCaffrey games are coming, and Purdy's playing at an MVP level.I think that the 49ers are a dangerous team. You know how good they're going to be defensively. You also are facing a team that's got some familiarity this week, not just because Mike McDonald has gone against Kyle Shanahan a number of times now,but also Seahawks' offensive coordinator, Brian Fleury, trained under Kyle Shanahan.
43:35So you've got to think Kyle is huddling with Rahimand going through all the things he thinksand all the tells he might be finding on tape.I think that's a really interesting subplot to this game.Kyle's one of the best coaches in the NFL.We all know the one thing that he doesn't have.Right now, they're 4-0, and they're playing great, and it's not a fluke.Let's see what they do with a really challenging game this week.
43:59Billy, your main character, Week 5, Sunday in the NFL.My week five main character is Lions defensive coordinator, Kelvin Shepard. Now, this isn't the sexiest game by any means. It's the Lions and the Cardinals.the Lions are favored by five and a half points,I would take whatever the overs are on everything,on yards, on points on everything, because this seems like a game
44:22where the Cardinals are going to kind of put upsome big numbers against the defense. But the reason he's the main characteris because he caught a couple people by surprise this weekin like the midweek press conferenceswhere they were asking decent questions. The Lions defense has been very disappointing to say the least. You know, they rank at the bottom of the league
44:42it almost everything defensively, except, you know, yards rushed against. They're like middle of the pack there. But like yards in the air, they're last in league, points per game, yards again, all of thatthey're at the bottom. So they were asking him schematically, this is the reporters, they were asking him about, you know, the risk reward when it comes to blitzing and what they can do schematicallyto kind of change things and make things more effective against them. And he just very bluntly said, those were the right calls.
45:07And then he said that two or three more times, those were the right calls. And then, you know, obviously that begged the follow-up, which was, well, Bryce went eight for nine against the blints.Like, is there a disconnect between the calls and the execution?Like, what's going on there? To which he said, those are private conversations that we have in-house, but those were the right calls. So that was, you know, one exchange, which was not the best where he's saying, I'm making all the right calls. It's just not going the right way.So they ask him more questions about, you know, if he still believes in the plan that they're doing because clearly things are not working defensively here.
45:39And then he went on to tell us that he did not care about the perception of his defense, that the criticism is poison, but also the praise is the big poison, and that it all comesin waves of poison. So both criticism is poison, praise is poison, and these are just waves going back and forthof poison. And then, you know, he made sure to say, like, there's three phases to this team, and it'sdisrespectful the idea that other phases of these three units, offense, defense, and special teams are carrying him, that they're.
46:09they're doing their one-third.So, you know,Kelvin Shepard hasn't exactly taken much accountabilityfor the struggles of his defense thus far.And with the trend that's got on this week,he's lucky that Dan Campbell's an offensive guybecause he can't take over theoreticallythe play calling of the defense here.
46:26So he's good on that front. But he's got to have a get-back game at some point. The Cardinals might be that team, but kind of wild week of press conferencesand back and forth with the media for him.I think everybody's feeling the problem.I mean, that's kind of the theme of this podcast, isn't it, that all these teams and coaches are, this is when you start feeling the pressure.
46:45You get two weeks in, oh, it's early.Three weeks in, listen, we won a game. There's a long way to go.We're getting guys back healthy. Now it feels like this four, five, six.Once you get to this portion of the season, people are starting to feel the heat. And they've got the worst defense in the NFL statistically.I could give you 400 more statistics.
47:02It doesn't matter. They're 31st or 32nd, like Billy said, in pretty much every single category.and I watch this Lions team and think are they some version of last year's Bengals or last year'sCowboys where they're going to be great for fantasy. The offense is going to be really good. But guess what? The defense is just so bad that we don't need to take them seriously. And they're not going to win 11, 12 games, which I thought was in play at the start of the season.
47:27So I think Shepard's feeling the heat. It's not just the coaching.I always go back and forth with this because it's like, all right, they're not the most talenteddefense. They have injuries. At the same time, with all these guys, the course.Coach's job is to figure it out when the situation is less than ideal. That's what the money is for, as the old Don Draper quote.
47:44It's like, that's why you're getting paid because you're not going to have the best players every single week. And you're not seeing that with the Lions right now.So Campbell's made changes before. He's definitely on my radar. You're right. He can't take over play calling duties. But last year, he makes the change at offensive coordinator. If this thing starts to get even worse, you know, if they were to lose a game against the Cardinals and get lit up for 400 yards and over 30 points,
48:07I don't know that they're just going to stay the course and stick with it.So this is another one of those situations, Tom,that I think we at least keep an eye on when it comes to the coordinator stuff. The lines have a buy after this week's game, too.And usually the buy is that time.Like, if you're going to make a really big change, that's when you do it.Dan Campbell loves Kelvin Shepard. He believes in him as a young coach.
48:31You remember the stuff from Hard Knocks years ago when Kelvin was telling the story about it.He said, she cut off my dreads.and Dan said, no, like, that's who you are. There's a culture in Detroit of the former players, and the way that they interact with players can be a little different. And when you're listening to those Kelvin Shepard quotes, especially the, like, those were the right calls.I don't know that a coordinator who didn't play could say that stuff
48:55and who would hit quite right. And clearly with a lot of people, it didn't hit quite right from Kelvin Shepard either, but like his message is not to us.It's not to the media. He's messaging his players. And if that's what he is telling them,I was like, these are the correct calls. We have to execute.
49:09I do think that it lands a little bit differently. But the results are the results. It doesn't sound like Brian Branch will be back this week. That's going to make a huge difference. It makes sense. He just started practicing. They got the buys. They can buy them an extra couple of weeks.
49:22When he comes back, I do think that that makes an impact.Maybe there's some things out there in the trade market that Brad Holmes potentially can getdone to shore up the secondary. But that's been, you know, the biggest weakness when your front's getting after peopleand you're not doing anything on the back end to support them.Everybody involved gets frustrated. They've been really good. They really have on offense this season.
49:42Drew Petsing another new offensive coordinator there. He's done a good job.The defense is not good enough. The expectations are raised in Detroit to such a degree. But Dan Campbell is willing to make those tough decisionsto make sure that he is meeting them.So you go all the way back to his first year.He pulled play calling duties from Anthony Lynn
50:00and took him over himself. And that's when Ben Johnson kind of started sliding into the mix.Last year it was with John Morton before Dan took over. You're right. He's not going to take over the defensive play calling duties, but I could see him trying to punch some different buttons out in necessity. It's not because Calvin Shepherd isn't a good coachor won't be a good coach in the future.
50:18But everything they're doing right now, not good enough on defense. We'll see exactly what direction that goes after this week's game.We still got some picks to make, specifically Sheel has some picks to make.I need an update.I don't even know how we're doing after last week.Let's do it right after this. Some sad news on this Friday as well. One of the absolute legends, one of the most recognizable figures in NFL history,
50:44Mike Didka passing away at the age of 86.This one, Sheel, especially as a child of the 80s,hits me in a certain type of way because there's very few truly larger than life figuresin the modern NFL.Like even the best coaches are not the ones who are going to, you know,be able to sell you different things and have a media career and be parodied on Saturday Night Live.Diffke was a Hall of Fame tight end, first and foremost, and still have records on the books,
51:18and then became one of the most successful coaches of his era as well. You think of the iconography with it, you know, the Ricky Williams photo in the wedding dress. He was associated with a lot of things during his career, but he was always unapologetically,Mike Ditka. There's not another Iron Mike out there. There just isn't going to be and said, well, okay,
51:42and not another Mike Ditka type of figure.I mean, if you're talking about this, still people who dress up as Mike Ditka. What other coach, what other player,40 years later are people going to games dressed as you?Like, that's just, it's like it's a John Madden, arguably John Grudenjust because he did a million hooters and Corona ads
52:03but like there's very few guys who were kind of onthat level. Ditko was in a class of his own shield.Yeah, it's funny. You mentioned Saturday Night Live. It's like you're, you know, I think if you're of a certain age, that's where your mind goes instantly. And then I'm thinking of the best and I'm thinking of fansdressing up as him. Like you said, unbelievable run as a player.
52:22And then that run with the Bears, man.You know, the Bears have had a lot of bad seasonssince we've all been alive. We're certainly since we've been working in football.they had an 11-year run with him where they go 106 and 62 win over 63% of their games.Of course, with the 85 Bears that gets referenced, anytime you talk about a great defense, the 85 Bears come up, they win the Super Bowl that season as well.So yes, Icon, legend, just a guy who is a part of the culture more so than just a football coach.
52:53There's no doubt about it.Yeah, I mean, I think that's the thing for like a younger generation too, right,is that he crossed over into pop culture.Like you mentioned Saturday Night Live, all the costumes, everybody knows, you know, like the sweater, the bears, the mustache. But, you know, for like a younger group,he's in a movie with Will Ferrell kicking and screaming
53:09where he's kind of, you know, he's playing the coach. Will Ferrell's a soccer coach and he's, you know, the neighbor. And he was able to kind of,he has the reputation of being a hard ass as a coach and on the field, but then is able to kind of laugh at himselfand play lighter versions of himself or even parody himself, even in movies like that and in pop culture. So, yeah, definitely.
53:27a sad day for everyone who, you know, doesn't just know him from the footballfields. And by the way, if you've neverseen, if all you remember is Mike Diccain the sweaters and with the big aviatorsunglasses and being the coach,go back and findMike Dittka highlights
53:43from his playing career.Brock Bowers, two years ago, setthe single season rookietight end record for receiving yards. He broke Ditka's record, which was a thousand seventy-six yards,12 touchdowns at tight end in 1961.Before the rest of the league was throwing the ball.
54:03That's how dominant Mike Dicka was as a player parlayed that same, you know, that mentality and that presence into being one of the great coaches of his era.So rest in peace, Mike Ditka, a guy that I think all of us, you know, have fond memories of over the years.Shield, we got Ringer 107 picks. 54:30and boosted teaser every week this season. All right. So we got back in the win column last week.Three and two, that's three weeks where we've had a winning record. All right. And one awful week that leaves us at 9 and 11.We're one game out of first place. One bad week.
54:48Don't worry.Bill, five and a week is coming.I don't know this week.Go ahead, Billy.Go ahead, Billy.I try to put a positive spin on it, but go ahead. We're one game out of first place, but we're also one game out of last place becauseeveryone's either 10 and 10, 9-11, or there's one team, Rahim who's 8 and 12.
55:05It's very bunched up right now.The field is wide open.I will give you that. This is where you need history lesson. You know, Tom just gave us the history lesson on Ditka last year.I'm down and out.My record's terrible. It's week 12.
55:19Week 10, people are making fun of me.And then I just came back and kept pounding.and then we finish the season, 56 and 51, one game out of first place.Wow.So there you go.We're not going to dig ourselves that same hole this year, but we're just staying in it.That we make our runaround Thanksgiving. It's just like the NFL.
55:37You know, we don't play our guys in the preseason. So we get off to a little bit of a slow start. You're warming up.Yeah, we're figuring out our personnel. These are the right calls is what you're saying, Shiel. These are the right calls. You know, we didn't execute, but these are the right calls. All right, here we go.
55:52First pick, we're going to live.London and they're taking the Jaguars minus seven and a half against the Eagles.Tom gave us all the injury news with the Eagles.I mean, their offensive line is in shambles. They don't have people to throw the football too.If Jalen hurts put the team on his back or if the defense finally gets it going, so be it.They can keep this game close. But I think the Jaguars have looked like one of the best teams in the NFL for like a year
56:19and a quarter now.I think it could get ugly there in that football game.Jaguars minus seven and a half, the first pick. All right, second pick here.We go to New England.Everybody's so quick to say the Patriots have figured it out.And last week, all right, now they're good.I'm not so sure about that.
56:40I like this Raiders team. We're taking the Raiders plus three and a half at New England.I think these are pretty evenly matched teams right now.And the Patriots have injuries in the secondary.I think the Raiders are going to figure out ways to.to move the football.I'm trusting you Clint Kubiak.I'm trusting you, Kirk Cousins.
56:59I'm trusting you defense that has overachieved so far this season.I could see Max Crosby, them going on Red Zone.Max Crosby, Strip Sack on Drake May.Big turnover.Late in the game, Raiders.Maybe pull up the upset, but at least keep it within three and a half.
57:15How are we feeling so far?Jaguars and Raiders.Any thoughts from you guys?Bold pick on Raiders.I'll give you that. But Kirk Cousins playing at a high level.that it seems like, I mean, the hurricane stuffthat's not going to impact any of the weather.
57:27We're not going to get rain in Foxborough. That would always worry me is Kirk playing a bad weather game outside? As long as we avoid that, he's playing really well right now.You know, I always forget to look at the weather stuff.Probably not great.Kind of a big thing with making.I probably should start looking at those. But you know what?
57:43Next week, we'll start looking at the weatherand we'll also get right where the games are being played.Keep going. I'll find out.You help me out.Okay.Third pick, we're going to Tennessee.the Houston Texans, minus seven and a half at the Titans. This is a get right spot for the Texans.
58:01D'Amico Ryan Snow's doing still, and he's looking at that offense with Cam Ward and Brian Dayballand saying they can't do anything.I'm taking over play calling duties. We're going to get after them. The Titans scored 13 points in two games against Houston last year.I know it's a different Texans defense.I still think it's a talented Texans defense.
58:20They've played some tough quarterback so far this season.I think they're going to force some turnovers. They're going to create some pressure. And C.J. Stroud, Nico Collins,if those two guys are healthy on offense,I think they can score enough.I think we're seeing a blowout in Tennessee. The Texans get right against the Titans.
58:38That's pick number three. And then finally, the T's.This is the fourth pick, a reminder. You pick two games. You can move the line, six points either way.We are going to Pittsburgh, and we're taking the Colts plus eight,a half against the Steelers.
58:54So the line is two and a half. We're bumping that up to eight and a half. Are the Steelers really going to score enough to cover eight and a half points againstthe Indianapolis Colts?I sure hope not.Maybe they will, but I sure hope not because I'm picking the Colts plus eight and a halfas one side of my tease. And then a really fun game that I can't wait for us.
59:13You know, we didn't talk about it in the preview. But man, our first show next week, we're going to be talking about Bill's Rams, a headlineron Monday night,we're teasing the bills up to nine and a half, plus nine and a half. They're three and a half point underdogs. We're moving that to nine and a half.If I get Josh Allen plus nine and a half,
59:33I'm going to take it.If they get blown out, so be it.But those are the two picks there for the tease.I got to get both of them right.Colts plus eight and a half against the Steelers, bills plus nine and a half against the Rams.Plus three and a half is a surprising line to me.You get three points at home.
59:50but there's still a half point up.I know what the bills, it hasn't been as good the last two weeks, but in the Rams, but for a furious rally, haven't exactly been playing at the top of their game either.Bill's Mafia always travels well.I imagine I'll have a decent contingent there. That's a surprising,
01:00:06a surprising line, but teasing it forward to nine and a half. It's an interesting call.By the way,48% chance of rain on Sunday and five-hour reveal. You really should have checked this.It could be problematic.Listen.
01:00:21Shield, glass half full,52% chance it won't rain.52% chance it won't rain.Drake May fumbles the ballwhen there's blood on it.What's he going to do when there's rain on it?And guess what?Clint Kubiak, you know,
01:00:33a little screen to Brock Bowers.Never hurt. Those are throws that Kirk Cousins can make. We're just going to pepperscreens to Brock Bowers,Michael Mayer, all game long.Still like it.This just increases the chances of Max Trosby,
01:00:46forcing a funnel. So there you go.All right. Those are the picks. Here we go.Reviewing them real quick,we've got the Jaguars minus seven and a halfagainst the Eagles in London.
01:00:55We've got the Raiders plus three and a half at New England. We've got the Texans minus seven and a half at Tennessee. We are teasing the Colts up to plus eight and a half against the Steelerscombined with the Rams,I'm sorry, the bills plus nine and a half at the Rams. And then we will give you our last pick on social media or on the ringer.com this weekend.Today's Ringer 107 brought to you.by FanDuel.
