The Rosary in a Year (with Fr. Mark-Mary Ames) - Day 233: The Transfiguration and Institution of the Eucharist
Episode Date: August 21, 2025Leading us in prayer, Fr. Mark-Mark reflects on the Transfiguration and the gift of the Eucharist as these moments reveal Jesus’ divine identity and His enduring presence. We witness Jesus revealed ...in glory before the apostles on the mountain, affirmed by the voice of the Father and flanked by Moses and Elijah as the fulfillment of the law and prophets. Then, at the Last Supper, we behold the depth of His love as He gives Himself entirely in the Eucharist. Today’s focus is the mysteries of the Transfiguration and Institution of the Eucharist and we will be praying two decades of the Rosary. Today we'll be praying with the fourth and the fifth luminous mysteries, the transfiguration,
and the institution of the most holy Eucharist.
As we pray with the transfiguration, right, the mystery of light par excellence.
We see Jesus transfigured on the mountain before Peter, James, and John,
who fall on their face in awe.
we see Moses and we see Elijah
bearing witness that Jesus
is the fulfillment of the law and the prophets
ultimately affirmed
by the authority of authorities

who speaks again from the heavens
this is my beloved son

As we pray with the fifth Loomis Mystery, the institution of the Eucharist.
We see Jesus at table with the apostles.
Taking the bread and say, take and eat, this is my body.
And then the chalice, take and drink.
This is my blood.
We call to mine the great gift, the great expression of the creativity of love that Jesus remained
with us, body, blood, soul, and divinity through the Most Holy Eucharist.
In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit, amen.

on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses.
