The Rosary in a Year (with Fr. Mark-Mary Ames) - Day 344: The Glorious Mysteries
Episode Date: December 10, 2025Fr. Mark-Mary prays through the Glorious Mysteries, inviting us to trust more deeply in Jesus’ nearness and mercy. While meditating on the Resurrection, we look to Caravaggio’s Incredulity of St. ...Thomas and see Christ meeting our doubts with tenderness. In the Ascension, He becomes even more present to us without spatial limitations. At Pentecost, Jean Restout’s depiction of Mary steady beneath the tongues of fire inspires us to welcome the Holy Spirit with renewed boldness. We contemplate Mary as the New Ark of the Covenant in her Assumption and rejoice in her loving intercession as Queen in her Coronation. Today’s focus is the Glorious Mysteries, and we’ll be praying the full Rosary. For the complete prayer plan, visit https://ascensionpress.com/riy.

let us begin in the name of the father and of the son and of the holy spirit amen i believe in god the
father almighty creator of heaven and earth and in jesus christ his only son our lord who was conceived
by the holy spirit born of the virgin mary suffered under pontchipilot was
crucified, die and was buried. He descended to hell. On the third day he rose again from the dead.
He ascended into heaven and is seated at the right hand of God, the Father Almighty. From there he will
come to judge the living and the dead. I believe in the Holy Spirit, the Holy Catholic Church,
the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and a life everlasting,
for a holy father his health and intentions our father who art in heaven hallowed be thy name thy kingdom come
thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven give us this day our daily bread and forgive us our trespasses
as we forgive those who trespass against us and lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil

Glory be to the Father and to the Son and to the Holy Spirit, as it was in the beginning is now and ever shall be, world without end. Amen.
The first glorious mystery is the resurrection.
What's called to mind, Carvaggio's masterpiece is painting the incredulity of St. Thomas.
In the painting, Carvaggio captures this really tender and intimate moment in which Jesus invites
Thomas to touch his side, to place his hand in his wounds.
My invitation to you, as you pray with this image, is to see it as, as a promise of Jesus,
that if we're doubting, if we're struggling, he is willing to come and to meet us and to meet
you where you're at. He wants you to be honest with him, to tell him what you need, like Thomas
did, but also like Thomas does.
he comes to you again and gives you the opportunity to grow in faith to respond to it sincerely
authentically courageously and this is what made this sincerity this authenticity is what makes
doubting thomas actually saint thomas in any struggle or doubt we have may this also be true
for you and i as well our father who art in heaven hallowed be thy name
thy kingdom come thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven give us this day our daily bread and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us and lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil amen

as it was in the beginning is now and ever shall be world without end amen oh my jesus forgive us our sins
save us from the fires of hell and lead all souls to heaven especially those in most need of thy mercy
the second glorious mystery is the ascension when jesus took flesh he took upon himself
like the limitations of the world he can make eye contact with one person at a time right he was present
in one place at a time but now the mystery of his ascension he reveals that his way of being
present to us now it's different his presence isn't now like spatial but it's divine he's not
leaving us he's becoming even more present to us in a unique and more complete and total way
every moment even now he is with you like gazing upon you if you will making eye contact
with you listening to you with undivided attention
as we pray this mystery let us go ahead and take a moment to call to mind
to contemplate and receive this gift
to be rooted even more deeply in this reality

the fires of hell, and lead all souls to heaven, especially those in most need of thy mercy.
The third glorious mystery is the scent of the Holy Spirit.
If you can call to mind or maybe revisit Jean-Risto's painting of Pentecost.
Where we encounter Mary in the center of the scene, confident and unafraid.
In this moment filled with wind and fire, might she have been reminded of another moment in which she was overshadowed.
by the Holy Spirits in the mystery we call the enunciation.
Could it be that Mary recognizes in this moment the God she loves descending upon her again?
Can we pray for the grace to, like Mary, receive the Holy Spirits again, a new, deeper and deeper and more and more with boldness and love?
our father who art in heaven hallowed be thy name thy kingdom come thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven give us this day our daily bread and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us
and lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil amen hail mary full of grace the lord is with thee blessed are thou among women and blessed are thou among women and blessed

as it was in the beginning is now and ever shall be world without end amen oh my jesus forgive us
our sins save us from the fires of hell and lead all souls to heaven especially those in most
need of thy mercy the fourth glorious mystery is the assumption of mary
a really beautiful title of mary is the new arc of the covenant and as we look back to the old testament
we can see a really beautiful and rich
prefigurement of Mary's
assumption. Mary the
Ark, the dwelling place of God.
In the Old Testament, the Ark, the dwelling place of
God was brought to Jerusalem.
The Holy City
by David eventually finding its home
in the temple.
So to the new Ark, Mary,
the dwelling place of God
is brought to heaven,
the eternal temple, the
eternal, like heavenly city by the new David, her son, our Lord Jesus. And it's really an incredible
parallel, just as David ensured the Ark of the covenant would be brought to Jerusalem. How much more
would Jesus ensure that his mother would be brought to the heavenly Jerusalem? Our father, who art in
heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this
stay our daily bread and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us
and lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil amen
hail mary full of grace the lord is with thee blessed are thou among women and blessed
is the fruit of thy womb jesus holy mary mother of god pray for us sinners now and at the hour
of our death. Amen. Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee. Blessed are thou among women,

hour of our death, amen. Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee. Blessed are thou among women,
and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus.
Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death, amen.
Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee.
Blessed are thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus.
Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death, amen.
Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee.
Blessed are thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus.

world without end, amen. O my Jesus, forgive us our sins, save us from the fires of hell,
and lead all souls to heaven,
especially those in most need of thy mercy.
The fifth glory's mystery is the coronation of Mary
is queen of heaven and earth.
A long, long time ago,
talked about having fancy friends.
Friends who, because of their roles,
talents, connections, authority,
right, can provide something particularly unique for us.
And even more so if they know us
love us, they're even more likely to do so. Of course, the good news being that we have
the best of friends in the highest of places. Mary is our queen, right? And she used this authority
she has as the queen of heaven and earth to pour out graces upon us, interceding on our behalf
to her son again and again and again for all the graces that we need. And so let us call to minds.
our queen, our mother who knows us and who loves us,
and bring our hearts and all of our needs to her,
and trust them to her intercession with confidence.
Our Father, who art in heaven, hallow be thy name.
Thy kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread,
and forgive us our trespasses,
as we forgive those who trespass against us,
and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil, amen.
Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee.
Blessed are thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus.
Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death, amen.
