00:00Oh, there's a fly?Can you not do that? That's fine.By the way, I can catch the fly.I'm sorry. If the fly lands, I will catch it.I'm serious. If you tell me where the fly has landed, I will go it.
00:10I'll show you.The fly is...Where is it?No one move.Where is it?Okay.Okay, here we go.This is where you need your camera.
00:19Are you ready?Yeah.Pagaki,Chukukulak,oh the baka-u-lou-l-l-l-u-l-l-l-a-kak-a-tri-tri-t.It's pretty chilly, right? It's pretty chilly, right?Yeah, yeah, yeah.
00:51Do you not like it?No, no, no.You like it cold here.Whatever you need, I do.No, no, no, I like it.Yeah, yeah.It's so colorful.Well, it's quite chilly.
01:01What'd you say?No, it's chilly.It's chilly in here.You like it chilly.Well, comedy's thrives and chill.Wow.You don't think?What happened?
01:09What?I just had the volume of his voice.A lot of that. What do I drink?Okay, what do you like?Red bull I won't have.Okay, what do you want to have? What's that?
01:20What's that?Water? You like sparkling water, no?Yeah, I lied. How do you know that?I can just tell, dude, by your face.Have we started? Is this? It doesn't matter? Is this it? Yeah, yeah. It's really happening. You know what? You have a swimmer? You mean more cameras.
01:33Sasha. It's like seven. You have a swimmer's body. You do. And as a swimmer? Yeah, she's a swimmer.Yeah, you have a swimmer. You know what? I started swimming a lot when I was inAustralia. That's why I'm every day in the sea. In the ocean. In the ocean.Yeah, yeah, yeah. You call it a sea.We call it.What do you call it?An ocean?
01:52Yes.Yeah.The ocean.So I'm every day in the sea.I had a friend of mine.We had,we would swim.Have we started?
02:00Yeah, this is how it starts.This is.It's very captioning.You don't wear a headpins.You don't wear a headphones.No, I don't.So basically, I mean, Sue just took,and you just take fat.
02:12You've got a paparazzi lens.Even though you're right next to it.Why do this is this one? Those are?I'm a massive lenssix feet away from me.What do you want? You're right on me?
02:26What are you doing? You look at my pores. You have no pores.I thank you very much. You look great.Really?Yeah, yeah. You look really good.
02:35So how about a wrong?Oh, sorry.Can I give them an intro?Yeah, sorry.Can I give them a fucking intro?I'm so sorry.Intro, me.Yeah, yeah.
02:41So.Tell them who I am.I don't want to.I don't want to be,get too sentimental.but I could tell you a story, if I may. Please do.I was on Mad TV, and I was living in this tiny apartment in Silver Lake, and I got the flu.
02:58And I turned on HBO.This is way back in the day.And I just didn't know about your show, you know, Allie G, but it was on.And I remember being super sick and cackling so hard and just like being so obsessed. And ever since then, I've just been a huge fan of yours, man.Thank you.Likewise.Well, you came in on Bruno.
03:18Tell me how I came in.So he has a movie, right?Great movie, Bruno, right?I auditioned for it.Yeah.Right, I remember.And I remember, what do I do to make this different?Right.
03:30So I was playing your boyfriend.Yeah.Auditioning.Yeah, yeah. You auditioning to be my lover.Your lover, right?By the way, yeah. You had a pretty crazy sex scene
03:40if you would have got the bar.I know, dude.I fucking missed out.Who would have been a dream of my mind? There's a terrible story, which I could tell.Yeah.But tell us the audition story. And then I'll tell a story theoretically, which you may cut out later on.
03:52I don't know if you remember, but I remember you coming in.I came in and I had a testicle out.What?Yeah.That was on the...I had this gene short.Wasn't that a requirement from the costume?Like, you won this, you have one nut out.
04:06Yeah, so I had short shorts like this.By the way, most guys had two knots out.But okay.Yeah.And they put it off the side and it walked in.And it was a great magical, you know,in. Yeah. You had us at Scrotum. Yeah, yeah. But, um, but, but, let me finish. Okay.Sorry. Yeah, yeah. And we're still in the intro. Yeah, we're still in the intro. Yeah, we're still in.
04:29They're eating sushi in the corner. Why are you, uh, do you bring us sushi?Okay. Okay. Okay. They're actually going to eat. All right. Okay. California roll? No, we're not. Okay. So how about a Ronald plot? Bruno. Allie.Orat, TallahagaNights.Tala Haga. It's the Korean way. It's a French. It's a French way of saying.
04:55Yeah, Tala Haga. What's a fuckingcalled then?Tala Dega.I missed a fuckingpronoun.A pro now?I missed a letter.Anyway, that's move on.
05:08Sasha Bairkela.Thank you very much.I'm not professional, man. I don't know what I'm doing.You know? That much is clear.Yeah.So, Sasha, you're English?Yes.Yes.
05:21What Premier League club do you support? So I am probably the only English person who love for me who doesn't support a premier club.I grew up into basketball.Oh.Yeah.And my dad was Welsh and we grew up into rugby as well.Whoa.Do you even know what that is?
05:38Yeah.I didn't need to be rude.Sasha, she dated a rugby player.You're joking.No, no, it's a footy, a footy player.Oh, really?Who?Yeah.
05:46in AustraliaAustralianAustralian rules footballAustralian rules footballYeahOh wow so they're crazyYeahWhy did you have to
05:56Go so weirdNo because when I wasHe gave meHe told me about your dating historyYeahYeah soBut butBut as a
06:07What club was hotIn your neighborhoodWhere you grew upWhat would people support? They supportAll the Jewssupported TottenhamOh
06:16And Todnum were known as the Yids. Now, for people out there who don't know,Yids is like the N word for Jews.Wait, wait, wait, Yid is?Yid.Yid.Yid is the...Am I in trouble by even saying it?
06:32No, not really. It's cool to hate Jews at the moment. It's in. It's completely in.It's back in.Retro.We're really having the Fod.It's the back end.And it's cool.
06:46Oh, perhaps. So, yeah, you can say, I mean, technically you can't.Because, you know, you can't.Look at this. You're a Guna.I'm a Guna.Okay, so I am sort of for Guna.Or you can't just do that.
06:58So, what do you mean? All of a sudden, you're...So anyway, so basically, I was, my first ever football match, I saw Tottenham play againstChelsea.Oh.And my mate got me tickets in Chelsea.Chelsea hated Tottenham. And I was sitting there with my girlfriend at the time, who was,
07:16Jewish and they start chanting, you know, like this, 40,000 people shining, yeah, no.And I'm obviously Jewish trying to hide the fact that I'm Jewish, you know, miming. And then my girlfriend, my God, yeah, of course, that's how they would chant against the Tottenham.Yeah, no.Yeah, yeah. And then basically my girlfriend shouted, shut up!Shut up!And all of these terrifying people in.
07:46Chelsea they had at the time they were had the Chelsea supporters club that were kind of you knowfootball hooligans and they stopped and they turned to me and I was like and I just pointed ather. Wait were you known that or no no no no no yeah yeah yeah young guy yeah yeah wow dudewait but you go swimming now in the ocean so I went swimming in the pandemic I we moved toAustralia and I had an old mate of mine from Scotland and the first morning he turned up at seventhe morning goes big man we're going swimming and we went swimming in the ocean every day and therewere like 10 people who went swimming every day yeah and i remember at one point one of themi think died at one point it's the beginning of the pandemic we were like what well i don't know if it was
08:34connected with the vaccines and i'm pro vaccine but i think one of them had an allergic reactionto one of the vaccine no and basically drownedHe had a myocarditis. It was a shee, sexist.Yeah.It is funny how he drowned, but it's like, probably the vaccine, though. No, you're right. She's basically drowned.
08:55But we swam every day.It was like I became the king off the, there were about 12 people who'd swim at 7 in the morning every day.And we decided to get a thermometer, a bath thermometer. And you was kind of respected if you had a thermometer. You just have one on you?Yeah, we bought it.Oh, yeah, it's like 11 degrees.here and we go actually it's 12 and a half.
09:18Wow. So we had a lot of space. Wow. How longyou'd be in the water for? Eventually I mean I started swimming in Perth I'd swim for anhour. And there you swim because the surfers swim and so you swim the safest place to swim isbehind the surf. But through a channel. Not through a channel. Well you don't want to swim throughthe surf. I guess you could yeah so behind the surf. You know the beginning of the waves youswim behind that and then you go and then you come back. But what we would do would we goup to like the oldest swimmer on the beach and just go, you know, where are the rips? What's a rip? What's a rip? A rip is a bit there pulls you out to sea. So you're suddenly
10:00swimming and, ah, you know, you've got out there, yeah. It's that a current? It's not a current. So basically it's the theory of water comes in with waves. The water has to go out. Yes.And you don't know where it is. So we'd go up to the oldest person. Wow, wow, wow. And they know.Yeah, and then suddenly...Are you scared of Super El Nino? No.So you swimmer here? You're not going to address it?
10:25Yeah, I actually...You swim in the sea here?I spearfish and I...She's a spearfish.Oh, my goodness.And I was a competitive swimmer in my whole life.Wow.But Calphrey.
10:33Which strokes, if I may honest.I'm a 200 butterflyer.Wow.So you're very strong.She's very strong, yeah.Wow.We dated for 10 years.You two?
10:41Yeah.And we broke up.Ten years. Are you still dating now? No.What happened? Why did you break up?Oh, you're turning the tide.
10:49No, but what-ha-I love the turn of tide.But you're in the same room.This is a great break-Oh yeah, I love him.I love her too.Why didn't it work out?Why didn't it work out?
10:58Porn.Porn.She, you became a porn star. You started working.I started an oldie fans.Yeah.Anal pain and trination.Only anal.
11:09Yeah, yeah, yeah.Can I say anal?I think so.Okay, sorry.If you mispronounce it,Annal.And so,I was watching too much.
11:20You were 10 years together.10 years.Yeah.Wow, amazing. And then what happens is you get in a cycle. Why don't you look at me?I just assume that she finished.I'm right, right?
11:32Yeah, yeah, yeah. Are you done?I never said anything. Are you done with the relationship? No, the relationship's done. And what happened was,we broke upand then she met somebody else
11:46Wow and he's cool with you just hangingin the room with him nowYeah I'm friends with themWow I'm friends with all my girlfriendsFantastic yeah so it's likeYou know it was difficult when her baby was bornYeah but then I met himYeah and what a joy
12:00What a joy what a beautiful joyYeah lovely congratulationsEagles I love itWowYeah you know what's so funnyAre you laughing?I don't want to move on I love itYeah Sasha wants to
12:12No, I'm interested in.Wow, congratulations.Thank you.For moving on.Not for the baby, just for, not being with Bobby anymore.Great achievement. You're estate.Do you ever dive?
12:25Do you dive?Do you free dive?Do you?I do dive, not free diving.Scuba?Scoobah, yeah.I used to, so you do, I mean, Western Australia is, we're still on the swimming thing.Yeah, yeah.
12:37Okay, Western Australia, so basically there's a lot of sharks in the water.Very sharp.Because I went there.I don't know how long we're going to talk about this, but no one, it's gorgeous, amazing beaches and no one is swimming.Wow.And I go, why is no one swimming? And they go, well, listen, Mike, you know, 10 years ago, somebody got bit by a shark,
12:56and they brought him out on a Cotter's-Ly beach, and the guy bled to death in front of the whole, whole of Perth. And basically everyone was traumatized. And no one went swimming. And I thought, I've got to swim. And I spoke to the fishermen. There's like local guys fishing.I go, what are you fishing for?
13:12I'm fishing for shark, mate.I got a tiger.I caught a tiger last week.Oh my God.Oh my God.And so I thought, I thought to myself, I go, I'm going to swim every day becausewhat's the likelihood of getting cobbled up by a shark if there hasn't been a singleshark attack for five years?
13:30So I knew there were loads of sharks swimming around me, but I thought it's of goodmental process, sort of counter anxiety to swim, knowing there are sharks around you.Uh-huh.And then you just, you just kind of repeat.the probability in your mind.I mean, you must do this. You know, you must...One night time when we were dating, she's like,
13:47let's swim with the sharks.We did that.And we had to take a class.Oh, really?Yeah, you can't lock eyes.You can't wait.You have to lock eyes.Oh, fuck.
13:56You have to lock eyes.Yeah, it's the higher...I've been locking eyes. And you can't swim underneath. You've got to stay above them.Okay.Anyway, the moment I left Perth, yeah.
14:06One week after, a guy went out swimming. His goggles came back.He got eaten up.Oh, right.Almost to the day after five years, yeah.Wow.What is that like?Getting eaten by...
14:19Bobby, yeah, yeah, yeah.Tell me about it.It wasn't me.I know. That was somebody else got eaten by the show.I understand that, but what would that be like?I'm still like. What would you do?
14:29Well, I was going to thought this.I also thought, unless you're religious and you believe in an afterlife, I get, what's theworst that can happen? You have like the last 30 seconds of your life were awful. But then you can't remember it.You've a great life, you've been swimming. And the last 30 seconds, which you can't rememberunless you believe in heaven.
14:50Yeah, do you believe in heaven?I don't think so.Yeah, me.Yeah, you think I'd do my job if I believe in heaven. You'd think you'd be interviewing me if I believe in heaven. My God, that paparazzi thing is so unnerving. And he's quite intimidating. We've stopped that paparazzi bullshit?
15:07No, you can do it.I mean, I don't know what you're actually going to know. This is insane, all right? No, it's mad. You've never done this with that.another gas. That lens is so long. It's actually almost touching my nose.Sasha, he's never done this before.
15:18Yeah, exactly. All right. Relax, dude.Yeah, he's a star. Okay, good.Yeah.Prize picks for you, baby.Baby.Prize picks all day long, baby. All day.The NBA is bag, y'all.

17:18Like when you're doing a character like Bruno or Borat any of these characters,do you miser it?I mean, are you that guy two weeks before shooting or do you just go into it?So do you mean is it Miser, is it method acting? What I'm saying is, are you Borat like weeks before you're shooting?Oh, you don't do that.No.So, I mean, it became out of necessity I started like, for example,
17:45changing my underwear. So each character has their own underwear.No.I go to work.I take off my underwear and I put on the characters. Why?Because early on, I mean, these things are iterative. So I did Borat at Gay Pride.
18:01This was the beginning of Borat. And somebody said, you know, take your trousers off.I took them off and I was wearing, my, you're sashes underpants. And they went, listen, mate, you don't.Why are they still Australian? And they go, you're not real. And so I got busted. So after I always wore underwear.
18:20On that same gay pride thing,it was the beginning of there was a very large,I think I'm trying to work out the correct thing now.Yeah.So wearing a dress, you know, but clearly was a man. This was, you know, 1990.And I was like, whoa, whoa, you're a beautiful sextant woman. But, you know, about 260 pounds, pure muscle, 6,6.
18:45And then finally, he was like, you know, you want to come.I'm going to have sex.And I was like, yeah, whoa, whoa, whoa, sex are done. The beginning of bore, and I had a camera with me.Yeah.And he brings me into the toilets, into a cubicle,
19:00and I'm waiting with the camera to follow me into the cubicle. And it shuts the cubicle. And I'm suddenly with a guywho is three times the strength of me.Oh, my God.And he's pulling down my, my, my clothes. And I realized this, this is backfired.Yeah, obviously.
19:19And this is going to end badly.Yeah, yeah. And it was at that point I remembered a physics lesson, age 30,where I'd learn about leverage. And I realized if I pulled the end of the door and used my leg, I could open the door.Open the door.Use your feet. And out I went and me and him didn't end up being married.
19:39Have you ever had a moment like that where you're like, wait, stop? It's a joke.Like, I'm just joking.Like, do you ever drop it?Like scared?I've never dropped it.I've never dropped it.I mean, and I don't know why, so.
19:51I'm banned, I was banned from the MGM Grand, all of them for many, many years.Really, for what? For coming in with one test.Close, yeah, yeah. No, I showed my ass crack on stage.Wow. It's his closer. It's my closer.
20:07Yeah.You know what I mean?Well, they had specifically asked himnot to show that ass crack, and he said, I will not be showing my ass crackand he showed the ass crack.Because you're in the moment,it's a packed room, you know what I mean?
20:17And you're like, I'll show it.Yeah.It's hard. It's hard not to.It's hard not to.Like, you know, the green thing with Borat, the green...Yeah, the green thong, right?Yeah.
20:28It's so hard not to put that on, right?Yeah.Yeah.Well, I don't know about that. It's easy not to put it on.But sometimes you get carried away being on stage. We had...That.
20:39In that movie, Bruno, so...Oh, that is, yeah, that is the thong.Real question.Quick question.Please.Did you sell those? We didn't.No, we didn't.
20:47They started reproducing.producing them afterwards.Did you should have...So much money.I know.So much money. It was really good.By the way, the tailor actually had to measure my genitalia to make that perfect.
21:00Can I be honest with you?Based on this, I'm not gay.Yeah.You know what I mean? But wow.Thank you.No, I'm being real.Just based on this, ooh la la, muo, mui, muo.
21:13Oh, French.Yeah.Much of good.Much of graces to you, my friend.Yeah.Look at that thing.Thank you.Who comes up with this design?
21:19Like, who's like, oh, this is one?Well, we had a great designer called Jason Alper. And there was also, we saw a photo of somebody with a similar thing on.Oh, my God.That is great. They're actually quite comfort, yeah.Yeah, they look so comfy.I got to get a pair.
21:35Yeah.And, wow, maybe wax your body?Well, not for that character. For the next character, for Bruno.Bruno had no hair other than a landing stretch. That's right, that's right. And we'd be in production.and it was one guy's job to actually shave me every day.
21:52Wow.Because I tried waxing and I got a reaction and then I got,I took some antibiotics because they react,I got candida.Oh, yeah, yeast. So I got a vaginal yeast infection.Wait, how does that happen?Wait.
22:06Well, so I got-Where? What part of the body? No, no, no.It said, you know, on the packet of the antibiotics I had it was for vaginal yeast infectionsbecause I got Canada. So I was so run down.I lost so much weight. And I had this thing.
22:24And the antibiotics had got Canada. You can have an overgrowth anywhere.Yeah.Sometimes my penis smells.I know.Okay.I actually don't think that. When I came to it.
22:32I didn't want to mention it because I didn't want to go.Is that your cop?I'll do a quick sniff.Yeah.You know what? How?You want to know my system? What?
22:41You have a way of doing it.What?You're kind of an ultra-bendi.What is Entrabendi mean?Well, you're very flexible.No, smell your pet.No, I do it with a thumb.Yeah.
22:55Why?Because I want to smell it.Why?Because sometimes it smells funky. So what?Yeah, because my girlfriend's coming over.Ah, okay.I'll show you what I do, right?
23:05I don't think he asked. This is very different from the last interview. It is?Yeah.Okay, I'll just, you know, my girlfriend's coming over.Okay, I get the idea.So this is where I thought it'd be a little more slim.People are eating sushi.
23:21Maybe cut that far out.Maybe cut that out.Is that uncomfortable?I'm sorry to cut that out.No, no, no.You putting your hand and touching your...I'm not going to touch you again.Actually, I'm not going to use that term.
23:30Yeah.So, yeah, sometimes it smells, but let's move out.I don't know why I just revealed that.Well...It's clean now.So we're all good.Okay, correct.Yeah.
23:38And you have beautiful olive skin.Thank you very much.I appreciate it.I really do.I've always thought that.Really?Yeah.You never mentioned it before.
23:46Yeah, because, you know, when we see each other that's brief.Wait, you're right.Well, we're in the dictator together as well.We were in the dictator together.Thank you so much for that job.I was going to get into that.
23:56Can I just be saying that?Okay, I don't know if you know this, though, but I was struggling back then. No, I did not know that.Oh, yeah.Yeah, she was there with me.I had nothing going on.Really?Yeah, I couldn't get an audition.
24:09And I did that table read for you.Yeah.And you gave me that job.You were hilarious.Thank you so much. And that really was just a milestone for me.But you were absolutely hilarious.Oh, thank you so much.
24:21No, you're absolutely hilarious.Thank you.But that was really cool.Because I, you know, I just that one day coming in and seeing this is a, what, what are you doing?It's a fly.Oh, there's a fly.It's a fly.That's fine.
24:34That's fine.I will catch the fly.I'm sorry. If the fly land, I will catch.I'm serious. If you tell me where the fly has landed. How do you do it?I'll show you.
24:43Okay.All right. If it lands, but don't, just tell me where it is.Don't approach it.Do you not warn itthat I'm going to catch itbut I will catch this flyI will stun it
24:55I was stunned itHow do you stun a fly?I will show you if toWithout you don't need a towel or aI don't know I will stunI do it with chopsticksReally? Oh yeah I could like thatOkay that's a bit of a racial status
25:07What? I will catchYou don't use chopsticks?I do but to eatYeah are you good at theI am actually pretty goodYeah you can you seem like you're goodYeah thank youA lot of compliments.
25:19All right, dictator, dictator.Yeah, dictator, sorry.Oh, anyway, that first day of work, I was so nervous.Really? You were hilarious.I know, I was hilarious.Bruno audition, you were absolutely hilarious.Thank you so much.
25:32And I walked in to the makeup trailer, and it was Sasha Ed Norton, Ben Kingsley,Anna Farras, I mean, just down the line that morning, right? And I couldn't fucking talk.that's how nervous I wasOh really?YeahBut then once
25:50I got to sayBecause I love LarryA lotYeahLarry Charles is greatYou knowAnd so it's likeOnce I got and said

26:24I would actually have that enter my body.Sorry to interrupt, but the fly is.Where is it?No one is it.Don't move.Where is it?Okay.Wait.
26:32Okay.Okay.Okay.Okay.Okay.This is where you need your camera. Are you ready?Yeah.
26:39Oh my.Oh my.It's still alive.What?What the fuck?What are.Prinkles can.Oh my God.
26:59Oh, my God.Oh, my God.It flew away.Oh, no, it's there.No, there's a second one.Oh, the second one.Oh, yeah, it's still there.Oh!
27:13Very nice.Hey, seriously.That was amazing.There we go.You got that on film!Go watch Al-Eachee.Go and see Al-EG, who is there.LAG it, dude.
27:27Whoa.I told you, stunned. Is it the sound? The sound does it or something?does it or something. Okay, yeah, you don't have to talk. No, no, no, no, please teach us.This is my technique.I understand that, but do you want me to teach you?
27:40Yes, I really do need to know.Okay, so flies are very intelligent.I believe it.It didn't really seem like a there. This is my theory. It didn't seem to move, but anyway. You know, I'm very empathetic.I can put myself in somebody else's position.
27:58I like to put myself in the position of, in this case, the fly. The fly, yeah. So the fly sees, again, this is my perception, in my opinion, the fly seesa hand coming down. It sees the hand. It goes, fuck, and flies away. Doesn't fly, doesn't staythere. The fly is not an idiot. Let's not belittle the fly. We're not belittling it. Yeah. I like thefleas. The fly flees. Yeah. It flies away. It's called a fly. Yeah. Why would wewe expect the fly to stay there. So what I do is if the fly is here, right, you can use your, here we go, this is the fly is here. What I would do is I have my hand here and here.
28:46And that they start moving together.I basically would do that.Yeah.The fly sees this one coming towards it.It flees that way. Then it sees that one flees that way and then it catch.Okay.If you get the right amount of power.
29:01you can actually just stun it.Sasha, can you put your hands apart like that again?Okay, so the fly is here. Why can he go this way? He's underneath. He's not that intelligent.Oh, I see.We don't know.
29:13East West is the only thing you know.Again, this is my opinion. You know, it's predictable.Yeah, yeah. Wow, that was, you know,we've never had a guest on this program.Catch a fly.Not just Captify, exhibit enormous amounts of pure talent and skill.Thank you very much.
29:30Do different voices. So what do we learn? What do we learn?Sasha has all of beautiful skin. He's empathetic. And he can capture fucking flies, dude.Swim with sharks. You swim with sharks as well, dude.
29:42What's this?People say this is another popular method, but I think Sasha's is more efficient. That seems ridiculous. That's how many of you said it?That seems a great way to break. You catapulted by what is going on?You have an erection?
29:56You hold somebody's erection. You slam some of the direction.Yeah.Oh, okay, that's the finger.Okay, sorry.Yeah.That seems absurd. It seems, but, you know, it creates speed as well.
30:08But that's not fast.No, I don't think the speed is, I think they are fine.Let me just see right here.Okay.Pretty fast.We can try that.That was pretty fast.Yeah.
30:15Okay.Oh, that hurt.Wiki How is.Anyway, anybody will want to catch a fly.You use Sasha Baron Cohen's.See the movie, Ali G.Who is I?No, so let's talk about the movie.
30:25Okay, sure.Do you don't want to?Yeah, I'd love to.You haven't seen it, though. We forgot to send you. Here's the thing. You guys forgot to send me, but I've seen...We are on it.
30:35MGM, Amazon are on it.MGM and Amazon. They just forgot.I'm going to watch it tonight. So here's the deal, okay?Ali G, one of my favorite characters that you do.What was it?I mean, I don't want to give away the plot line,
30:48but can you give me a sense of what it's about or no?I would say it is the craziest film I've ever done.Really? It is the craziest film.I've ever done. It is set in the real world with real people. Wow. And there are things in it,scenes in it that you have never seen before, that you will never see again. It's basicallymy version of The Avengers. Wow. So I play three characters in it. Yeah. I play, I did a showcalled Who Is America. Uh-huh. And I did this ultra-woke character called Dr. Naira Kane and
31:23DeGi Gicello. So funny. MPR t-shirt wearing.guy whohe's a stay-at-home male momand empathy dulaand I play other characterin it who's thissort of KravvankaIsraeli
31:43claims he was in the Mossadbut it's actually a complete bullshitwho hangs out with Ultra RightThat's you, dude? That's me.It's so funny.God, that's fucking funny, dude. And so...
31:55Can you give me a little taste of what that charactersounds like or no?My name is Ramorad.I've been in 14 terrorist attacks, and I have started three.Wow, dude. What a great character.Yeah, you should check him out. There's some good stuff with him and Dick Hennie,
32:15also known as Dick Cheney. What was your favorite war and why? There's no actors, and these are just regular people. No, these are real people, yeah.Yeah.Does it ever go wrong?Yeah, I mean, does it ever...Like, you're in an interview ago,
32:31this is, there's no way we can use this.Yeah, I mean, sometimes I'll come inand I just go the dynamic is wrong or...Yeah.If I feel there at all suspicious, I'd stop it.What do you mean suspicious?Well, if they think something's up.Oh, I see.
32:45Hold on, is this real?Is there ever a time where you know they're suspiciousand you think they're going to carry on anyways?Well, they will, you know,I don't want that.I don't want everyone ever playing along. So the whole thing, it has to be,they don't know what's going on.
33:00What's going on?It's hard to believe that people don't know it's you, though. How do you bail last minute? It's like, it's Alice is one of those famous characters in the world. How the fuck?So what we have is we have like a really big research teamwho are calling people up.We did scenes in England.
33:16Now, in England, the character became so popular that the mother of the queen of England, the queen mother, was a fan.And apparently, according to her, the grandchildren, William and Harry, who are now grown men,at Christmas lunch, the queen said how was lunch? And she goes, boy, I catch her.So that's how popular Ali Qaeda gave in England. And so we'd have a scene with the doctor, and we had to interview about 5,000 doctors
33:46until we found one who didn't know who allergy was.Wow.But here it was, you know, we never released the allergy movie.so it was easier, but it's still, you know, it is a very time-consuming period.I bet it is, yeah, man.The research that you must want to do.Wow.So, yeah, so it is kind of like the Avengers.
34:04It's an action movie, but with real people. They don't realize they're in a thriller action movie.Wow.You want to see the trailer or no?Yeah, sure.I'll let it play because I don't want to get flied on YouTube.Oh, you want to be fly?I see the character.
34:15Wow, dude.Wait, who's that Roth's like, is that obvious? This is like, oh, yeah.I don't know that's you, though. That's his house.Do you also, is part of your crew, like, security as well?Oh, yes.Yeah, we have, you know, when it's dangerous here.
34:36Yeah.I cannot watch. You promise you'll send it to me tonight?Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.I cannot wait to fucking watch this.I cannot believe that we didn't send it to you before. But anyway.Wow.
34:45Yeah.And it's shot mainly. That's been truly. That's Ali's girlfriend.Wow.By the way, he doesn't have dreads under there. He's got, like, plastic bags in the raster hat.
34:57He's just tasting of...Did you audition her?Yeah.Yeah, but she's brilliant.Yeah, she's unbelievable. She's a very famous English comedian.Wow. Wow, wow, wow, wow, wow.So Amazon, it's already out or no?
35:12When does it come out? It's coming out. It's in the cinemas. We're doing just two days in the cinemas and thengoing straight to Amazon. So next weekend,23rd and 24th.What is that?I can't wait.Yeah, yeah, yeah.
35:27I mean, as I said, it turns in an act, but there are, what is that? These are, these are, these are guns. These are guns that fire their, like, anti-sexual violence.Wow.Who was the stage on? Is that Coachell? What is that?Yeah, that is at a, that's at a dead mouse concert.Alley G ends up with a dead mouse thing on his head.
35:50thing on his head.Wow.It's a lot of him in the world ofTikTok. That's a very famous general. He's wearingdoing an ASMR video.Talking about the danger of Iran. What is he suck it?
36:10Yeah. Oh yeah. Wow.Amazing. Amazing. So funny. You know, Sasha,do you see changes in the business?I mean, it is different, right? How are youadjusting did all that well you know my speciality was making movies for cinemas so i mean obviously we didthe allergy show that was to be watched at home but we would i got really crazily detailed aboutmaking sure that the laughter in a 300 cedar cinema was perfect so bore at one if you watch it
36:46at home now there'll be long gaps you know it's a bit like if you look atin the original Marks Brothers movie, there would sometimes be like a three second gapbetween when nothing's going. So we were,so I was just,we would record,we would record the laughter every single time
37:01and we would cut the movie to within a frame, really within a couple of frames.Wow.To make sure that the laughter was riding like a stand-up gig.Oh, wow.Wow.So it's cut for a 300-person scene.Wow, wow.
37:13Because that scene where had that race with the, remember the Jewish, the big,The Jew.The Jew.And then the laying the egg.Yes.And the egg cracking.
37:25And then the kids are eating. My brother and I watched that in the theater. We were on the ground collapsed.I'm a pure stand-up, dude. And I think why stand-ups love you is because you're just pure comedy.Thank you.You have the skill set and we understand it.And your game, dude, it's just been always elite.
37:46And we love it.Thank you.Yeah, yeah.We see you.That's why when I see you with Jeff Ross,all these people.Oh, I love this.Yeah, you're a part of that, you know what I mean?
37:54No, I love it.Well, I think it's not worse. We want laughs.Dude, look at this thing. This is the jukehead.Yeah.Wait, is Drewski in this one?Drewski, no, no, no.
38:07But I just went and did a thing.Oh, you did a thing with Drewski, right?Yeah.Yeah.Yeah.He's very, brilliant.He's brilliant.Yeah.
38:14Wow, dude.Brilliant.There goes. What's your process of, like, developing a new character?Because you've had so many.hit characters that are so good. Are you basing it where like you see someone online or on TV and you'relike, oh, I could do this. This is like a guy who I emulate from. It's, it varies the whole time. So like
38:31ball rat, how did ball rat happen? Well, um, I decided I wanted to do a foreign character. Yeah, who didn't know much about England. And I was doing a TV show called F2F. It was there about 200 peoplewould watch it every day. Yeah. It was like a kid. I was the host of it. Crazy.Great.So it was like a kid show?A teen discussion program. What? What?
38:55No, it's crazy. It was live every day. What? And I wanted to be a comedian.Yeah.And so what I decided to do was in between segments, I would like shoot little stuff where I was playing different characters.Yeah.And I did my first accidentally, I created the genre of a character.
39:19in the real world.It was not intentional at all.Yeah.So I wish I could say like, oh, that's me.Yeah, bloody.Oh, wow.Yeah, yeah, yeah.So young.
39:28So young.So it's a teen show.Yeah, yeah.It's a teen show.But, wow.Wow, dude.Yes.So, oh, she then became quite famous.
39:40And we would discuss stuff every day.But so, Ali G was originallythis kind of upper class dude.called Jocelyn Joodle Hume. And he still had all the catchphrases about it.So it was buyaka, boyaka. You know, a Russbag. But he was far more extreme.
39:57It was an upper class version. So I would go in this show and I would basically record these little bitsan hour before the show, a hour and a half before with this director called MikeToppin. He was like this legendary editor who had worked on the Ealing comedies. There was a period of like the heyday of British movies. And he was like the main guy cutting all the comedies. And he lost all his money with this thing called the Lloyd's Insurance scandal.
40:23And it was terrible for him.It was great for me.I had this genius player on this crap teen discussion show.Yeah.And we would go out.He goes, Sasha, let's go out.And we went out one day with this character, Jocelyn Chito Hume. And I see these real skateboarders who look like me.
40:40Yeah.I've got a skateboard in my hand. And I say to Mike, you know, and bear in mind, I've got a live show in a now and a half.I go, I go, should I go up to them and speak to them? And he goes, yeah.By the way, he could have said no and I would not be sitting here to know.Wow.This is, the takeaway from this is careful, there's a phrase in the music business.
41:02Carefully you let on the bus, right?Carefully you let on the tour bus. This guy was on the tour bus and he changed my life.He said, yes.He could have said, we're on air in an hour and a half.Come on, let's shoot this thing.I go over to these skateboarders and I'm like, boiocca, boy, I'm falling off my skateboarders.Like, yo man, you're crap.
41:19Look at that. And after two minutes, I look at them, I go, I drop character.I go, hey, I'm playing a character. And they were like, what? And I had this moment that changed my life.I go, they believed me.Wow.So that genre didn't exist, you know, in comedy.
41:36Yeah, yeah, yeah. There were sort of prank shows in the 80swhere they'd do a lot, you know, somebody would wake up and they'd think they were on the ceiling and that comes. There was a show called Beatershead, where they were doing awful pranks to people.but it was a character in the real world. And I look at the director and I see this tourist bus,
41:53open top, double-decker bus turn up.I look at him, I go, we locked eyes.I run onto the bus.The camera follows me.I go upstairs.I grab the mic from the tour guide and I'm like,I stop beatboxing and rapping.Oh, yeah, I don't check it out.
42:07Here I am, M.C., Jocelyn, General, You know, because we go across Tower Bridge. We end up in a pub.I stop break dancing. They call the police.I start walking towards the bridge. There's a massive corporation there.I go in claiming my dad's upstairs.
42:23They get security to throw me out.And we run back to the channel. It's called London Weekend Television.I change into the clothes.Go on air.You know, I'm talking with those teenagers.I go, we used to say cut to VT in a videotape, a pre-existing.And this guy is editing.
42:39These are the days of pneumatic. You know, you are pressing buttons and rewining. And, you know, we show the first thing. And the kids are like, wow, that's crazy. And then, you know, I do another little segment with the kids.Cut to the second bit. It's on again. It's going great.
42:53You know, they love it.Wow.And then I cut the third bit, there's nothing there. The end of the show, the one hour live shows,I get a message that the head of the channel wants to see, mate.I go into his office. He said, you do that again and you're fired.Oh, damn.
43:08And I was like, I got something.Yes.He wants to find me.I got something. So the next week, the next week.the next guy I go, I think I want to do a foreign character. And I drive down to the east end.I wonder if you can find this.
43:25And this is, I had my mom sob 900.It was actually, it was a car that had a problem. It didn't turn left. There was a fault where the steering wheel,a lot of sound like that didn't turn left. And it sounds you'd be driving. You'd be trying to get the steering wheel to turn left.Anyway, I, you know, I, I'm going on a detail.
43:50So anyway, we're in the East End, you know, and I thought I want to do something about Cockneys and his, you know, he's drawn around it.And I don't know what the character is, I opened the boot and inside I'm rummaging around the trunk of the car.And I find a hat that I bought on this trip to Russia when I was 21.And I stick it on my head and I go, Yank Shamash.Jamash and I that was the characterWow that was how it came and I came up toI go I'm looking for a cockneyYou're a chapicotny
44:21Where are your spoonsAnd then we played it outIt went really wellI went the next dayAnd there was a fox hunting rallyAnd I go againI'm gonna take this character againI called him Alexey Cricler
44:35That was the name my roommateI had a roommate called Alex CriclerI'm a Lex CriclerAnd I was going up to these real upper class guys who were, you know, defending fox hunting,we want the right to be able to chase and kill a fox with hounds. And I said, in my country, we hunt criminals. You think we should do it here? And they were like, oh, yeah, that would be a good idea.
45:00That would be, you know. And at the time, Prince Charles, who's now the king, had there was some scandal where he'd been recorded talking about Camilla, being a actually forget that stuff. He's now the king and he's actually all right. When did you change the name to Borat? So every channel we were at, we gave him a different name.Oh yeah. This is the fox hunting rally.
45:29Wow.No, no, no, no, no.That is from, no, that's the Allergies show. That's earlier on.Yeah, but that is the countryside protest.Yeah, that is already.on the Ali G showwe bring in Borat
45:42in the UK Ali G showand I think this was one of the first onesThis is a common rallyThis is like everywhere onlineYeahThe Fox hunting rallyYeahVery English protest
45:52WowYeah yeah yeahSo there was an earlier version of thisActually I tried it's fineAnd that was the creation of BoratBasicallySo sometimes they are very quickAnd then we did a show
46:01Who is AmericaWhere we decidedOkayYou knowI became too well knownwith Brunoand the dictator,we go, we're going to use prosthetics now.
46:13And the technology and prostheticshad just got to be good enoughwhere we thought maybe they could be good enoughto convince real people. And so we decided to do a 10-week process,me and a couple of writers and Dan Seimer. And we go, what we're going to dois every week in the first day,
46:29we're going to come up with a characterand write it, work how they dress, create the prosthetics, and on the Sunday we're going to shoot withreal people. Wow. And we're going toeither dump the character or keep it.So for 10 weeks, we did 10 different characters.Oh, wow. Wow. And it was, it was really interesting
46:47because what I realized was on the Sunday,my guys would say you lock in. What wemean by locking in wasyou create a character and... Wait, wait, wait. Those are all you? These are all me. Are you out of yourmind? Yeah, so they are, okay, the top... Wait, who's thered? Tell me about her. Okay, that's...He's like, OMG with boy.
47:12Oh, M.G. Whizboi, he's an unboxing character. And basically, he would have, we would go to D.C.Yeah.And he would unbox with, you know, politicians. That in the middle is Rick Sherman.Rick Sherman was a, he has just come out of jail.Yeah.For murder.
47:36And he basically.he becomes like one week he's getting his first Michelin star as a chef.Yeah.And we had all this, you know, it's prison-based food. And we end up actually feeding one restaurant critic. We go, this is, you know, I was in a fight in prison. And I cut up my roommate, a cellmate. And I ended up, you know, tasting it.
48:01And it was actually delicious. And, you know, we're trying to replicate that feel off the, you know, human flesh. And they basically, I pull out what he believes is his human flesh. Wow.I go, this is a Chinese dissident. He's grass fed, be completely vegan diet. Yeah, yeah.Kept in solitary. They're very fat. It's delicious. And we get this restaurant critic eatsthis dissident. Oh. And, you know, the food is kind of delicious. And I go, you know, this was chum-fi. Could you please, you know, hisparents record a message to his parents. And he's like, you know, chumfi, thank you so much.
48:45Chumfi was absolutely delicious.Look at him.This guy who's believing it.Dude, the prosthetics work.Look at that thing, dude.That's a real human.Is that you too?That's a real human.
48:58Oh, my God.I've never seen you look like that.Oh, here we go.Cake with grated New Zealand human excrement and a vanillabutter cream condom. So I go, yeah, I included in it, thinker.I go, what can you taste? And he goes, I'm not sure am I tasting origana.
49:15I go, it's shit.Shit is such as, it's such a strong, has such a strong flavor.Yeah.Such a strong flavor when you're using human shit that you must be.What the fuck? What did it taste like, though?I think that they were delicious. We actually, yeah.
49:32Gordon Ramsey helped us like.What's, what's, I love Gordon Ramsey.Yeah.What's he like?he's a well he's a brilliantshit I mean he's yeahyeah he lent us his team tothat's amazing dude
49:44he's trying to work outwhat the secret ingredient isdude he looks like smeggleanywayyeah probably good credityeah so he like this characterhe did likeyou know he became a DJ one week
50:02he became an artisthe was all about thatyou know in the art world they love theidea of somebody's come from adisadvantaged or dangerous background.Right, right, right, right.Oh, you were in jail for murder?Oh, how exciting.
50:19And then that guy bottom leftis Billy Wayne Roddock. He's like a conspiracy there. There he is.Bernie Sanders.Does Bernie know that you? It's you or no?So Bernie, look at his face.Bernie afterwards was, we got
50:35You know, the interview went well, and at the end, one of his team was suspicious. And we get a phone call saying, we think that's Sasha Baron Cohen.Oh, wow.And our team denied it.And then they said, if you don't give us back the tape. And again, this is from hearsay, from the person who was on our team. They said, we're going to go to Congress and say that there is potentially a tell.terrorist in town.
51:06What?And so I was living in an Airbnb in D.C., you know, only sneaking out at night. You know, I was living in D.C. for two weeks.Wow.And you wouldn't go out to restaurants or anything.I don't know.I was going out in the middle of the night.Wow.
51:26Yeah, because no one could see me for two weeks.Otherwise, we'd be busted.Which doesn't help your terrorism case either.Yeah.A secret safe house.Again, I'm saying allegedly. But he didn't get the tape back.Yeah, how does that work?
51:40How do you say no?Just no?You're not giving it?I think, no, we didn't,the team did not admit that it was me.Wow.I think we're consulted with, yes, it aired.Wow.
51:50It aired.He's a conspiracy theorist.You know, this was 2018,and we thought, you know,he's like, he's a doctor,Billy Wayne runner.You know, so he's, I think he's a test thing.Yeah, everything.
52:03Everything.Everything.I like the name truth.Yeah.And the new movie is all about conspiracy theories as well.Oh, good good.Where they lead to it.And we get some conspiracy theories and we do probably the craziest thing that's
52:18ever been done in cinema before.Wow.Wow.I'm glad you're addressing it too because it's fucking insane out there. It is insane. You know, we're in a world where you can't tell the difference between truth and lies. And the people benefiting from it are a handful of people with people who run thesocial media. Now you've got AI where it's purporting to be the truth, but it's also sucking
52:41up information from Reddit and Wikipedia that's got a lot of lies in it as well.Yeah. Wikipedia itself, they recently showed that it's being manipulated by foreign governmentswho want to change certain pages. Well, we have a big AI scene in it, actually, because, and I hopefullyit would lead to a change in the law. But you've got to see it, but it's, we've got a lot of famouspeople in this AI video who AllieG is claiming actually come out.He gets cancelled at one point and lists all these people to.Oh, wow, wow, wow.Yeah, some of are dead.
53:12So everyone listening right now, I'll be honest with you, dude.Thank you so much for doing this. No, it's been correct.Firstly, I've had a number of compliments. We've talked about swimming.I managed to stun a fly without really hurting it.And you have it in there. That was amazing.
53:28My gift to you.My gift to you.Talked about comedy.I got to hang with you again.By the way, I always loved hanging with him.Oh, thanks, man.Always loved. I never knew you were going through a difficult time. But you...
53:39At that time, yeah.Everyone, I remember from that first, we were like,he is absolutely...Oh, man.I'm killing it now.No, absolutely. We couldn't believe it.You know, and that's how we brought you back
53:51for the dictator.Thank you. I know you did, man.And that was fucking amazing, dude.Yeah, thank you.By the way, you were lucky not to do the Bruno film.It was terrifying. No, I would...That guy who got the job.
54:00Poor guy had to...deal with neo-Nazis and all this stuff. It's terrifying.Well, give Sasha a round of applause, everybody.Thank you for having me on.
