Hello, welcome to the Fletch, Vaughan and Hayley podcast.
It's thanks to McCafe,
Trae Barista Made iced coffees available now at your local McCafe.
How many people in your lifetime up to this very moment
do you think you've spoken to or interacted with?
Too many.
Yeah, thousands.
Definitely thousands.
Even, do you mean just like Uber driver?
Yeah.
Takeaway person?
Yeah.
Tens of thousands?
Hundreds of thousands?
How many days have I lived?
Well, because I saw this post on Reddit.
Somebody asked this question.
Considering, you know, how many individuals
you meet in your life.
They reckon 10,000.
It's got to be more, right?
No, it's got to be more.
Here, you can put in your birth date and find out how many days you've been alive.
8th of October.
89.
That's me.
How many days have I been alive?
Only 12,000 days.
Huh? That's a lot of days. You've been alive 12,000 days? Huh?
That's a lot of days.
You've been alive 12,000 days.
I feel like I've been alive more days.
No, that's a lot of days.
No, because you've got to divide that by 365. That's right.
Which would be 33 minute years.
Huh. Huh. I thought I would have been alive for longer than that.
Now, I want to calculate how many days I've been alive for
February 2nd
1995
I'm going to be 82
In the year 2071
And that's all it calculates up to
So it thinks I'm going to die at 82
So is there a calculator
For how many people you've met in that time?
No.
No.
You wouldn't be able to tell.
Because there's some days where I would engage with heaps and heaps of people.
And there's some days where I'll engage with the same people I've already engaged with.
So they don't count.
So they don't count.
I've already engaged with them.
Have you so far engaged with someone that you've never engaged with?
Today?
No.
Will I? Today? No. Will I?
Yes.
No.
Probably not.
I hope not.
There could be a new checkout check.
I'm going to the supermarket after this.
Yeah, there you go.
I'm going to the supermarket.
So you're counting even the briefest of interactions with humans.
As long as you talk to them.
As long as you talk to them.
That's quite full on when you think about it, isn't it?
What about, say you've hosted a massive event.
Like I'm emceeing something soon and I've talked at them.
Are you talking at them?
That's talking at.
That's talking at them.
So that's not a conversation, is it?
That's not a two-way.
Okay.
All right.
Because I was going to say a lot.
How many kilometers do you reckon you've traveled?
Oh, that's a good one.
By foot.
By foot or by vehicle or by plane or by...
By foot or by crook.
You're out there, you're travelling.
That'd be great if we had a life odometer just to keep track of these things.
We need to start putting microchips in our babies.
Yeah, I'm putting them on my baby.
Do you know what I mean?
So that we can calculate these cool stats.
Yeah, well, like they do for rugby players.
They put that thing on the back of their...
In their jersey.
In their jersey. Like a watch, a smart watch for rugby players. They put that thing on the back of their jersey. The little brace.
Like a watch, a smart watch,
and then they can see where they've run.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
But then if you put one on the baby at birth.
I'm on board.
Yeah.
Say no more.
Say no more.
Well, I just love the stats.
That's the coolest thing about the Apple Watch is,
oh, I did 10,000 steps.
Imagine having an app,
and you'll be able to look at your stats from life.
And you come home, you're like, huh, I met four new people today
I've never met. And I walked X amount of kilometres taking me to...
And two of them had COVID. Oh, damn it.
Still got that bloody tracker in it, doesn't it? Jesus. I guess if it's tracking everything, it's tracking
that. It is. Surely we're done with that soon. I thought we were done.
I read an article a while ago it was like
three years in things to be afraid of oh no i was talking about how usually like pandemics
have blown themselves out by now yeah right we're blowing it blow it's blowing harder
so all of 2020 all of 2021 all of 2020 yep okay three years that's cool that's cool
yeah we've had a we've had a great time.
