You've got a car show kind of deal going on out there that we'll be out there for from 11 to 1 on Sunday, July 31st. They're also, they've got a retail space and a reception space that's connected to them. Very nice space that they cater. They do breakfast catering. Oh, yeah. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.

Yeah. They also do buffets for corporations set up in there. I know that they fed the basketball team. They've got several of the teams. Do they do birthdays? Because I got a one-year-old birthday coming up in about a month. Yes, they do. Yes, they do.

Yes, they do. It's a nice space. He won't be able to eat any of it, but everybody else can get out. I may give him a little couple pieces. Well, but he, I mean, so Charles can do. whatever it is that you need for him. He's got a couple. He's got like five teeth.

Eh, mac and cheese. He likes mac and cheese. Okay, we'll get them in that space. Charles will take care of. So to do that, we don't thank, again, the folks from Mary Ellen's for what they do. I had the fried chicken last night. Collar greens, mac and cheese. Becky had the catfish.

We were both fat and happy. You're going to make me go there for lunch. Yeah. Well, they're open at four today. Maybe not lunch So you can go for dinner Yeah maybe You can go grab something for everybody

I saw it. And I had to make a decision. Which one was I going to get? And I went full in orange, Fanta orange. And I did, you know the Eddie Murphy delirious? I guess I. You do the dance. I did the, I got some orange fantasy dance.

So everything that we did, I had to drive, we had to drive by the stadium. And it's, you know, the Vegas has fully accepted the Raiders. There we go.

And it's, it's live and loud. It was 110 degrees. And everybody was still wearing Raiders black. If that gives you any, if that gives you any idea, how deeply they've,

they've, They've dove in the pool, right? They don't care. They don't care. Like, it's like, wait, we're wearing these colors, bro. I love it. I love it, love it. Listen, I was thinking of strange couples.

Dudley Moore and Susan Ante. Yes. Yes. That's an odd couple. Yes. I don't know if you get any more than Martha and Snoop, but Susan Anteim and Dudley Moore. Billy Joel and Chrissy Brinkley. Go ahead.

That's all you got. You're welcome. You better have memory, young man. That's how this works. Let me tell you. Again, so I'm also at the place where I'm trying to figure out again, who am I going to root for this season in the NFL? And I did consider, like, as we spent time in Vegas.

First of all, seeing the spaceship up close. Yeah. Certainly adds to this. Yeah. And you like going to Vegas, period. Because it feeds, it's kind of an energy that I can roll with, right? It's self-supplying of energy. Yeah, they can ride your way, you know.

Nobody knocked you off your pivot. I understand. Right. Like, I mean, you get that, right? That's a statement of truth that you kind of want to be in a space where your energy is felt reciprocated, celebrated. And so with that, I'll ask you again. And the final hour here before you tell us what you're eating, I have to give RICO my eight teams, my final eight teams that I'm going to choose. So I got down to eight.

Eight. Okay. Let's run. And I was going to do it in the next segment. But I do want your Raiders pitch again because there are convenient. The Raiders pitch is this. They are an original AFL franchise. They're one of the only franchises out there that had an owner who both coached the team and own the team. Okay. They have three Super Bowl championships.

They have, I don't know, I don't have the statute of 28, 58 Hall of Famers. They are a national team. They have national presence. They are the original home of the island of misfit characters and making them work, which is kind of symbolic of how we form the United States. They come here, there's an idea, right? It's not birthright. It's an idea.

America's an idea. A belief in a system. And their system is, you know, show up on time and play like hell on Sunday. They have John Madden. I mean, there's nothing more football than John Madden. Yeah, that's big. First black coach, first Latino coach, first high-level female executive. I mean, on all the things that people talk about,

the Raiders have done there, done that. and I think they're ready for a return to dominant. You know, they're not an organization that kind of plays around. It's easy to talk about commitment to excellence, dominance, winning. They have a vertical passing game. This West Coast stuff is fine for moving the chains, but, you know, you want to get downfield. I don't know.

And if you like to dress up for Halloween, I mean, it's eight times a year, baby. Let's go. See, this is why you hang out with Barry Thompson. Right? Because he got... Because he likes to dress up for Halloween. Well, that part too. That part too.

But the fact that he could go into those spaces, right? Like, that's quite the sales pitch. That is a great sales pitch. Like, that's quite the sales pitch. Okay, so I'm now going to ask... And let me... And before we go. And you love Los Angeles.

That is not a statement of untruth. Never been. I don't know where these other states. seven teams are, but they're not, I'm venturing the guess. They're not in places that you would naturally, like on the list. We were going to go this weekend. No, that might not be true. That might not be true because, okay, so let's go ahead and go.

Let's go ahead and go through the list. All right. So the Raiders are on the list. Okay. The Raiders are on the list. Also on the list The San Francisco 49ers Okay

Not as much history But they love their They love their football team the way Nebraska loves it's football. That is true, but right now you would have Gino Smith as a quarterback. Here's one thing I'll say about Seattle. There is, you know, I haven't experienced the city now, but, you know, we all from afar know about the needle in downtown and we kind of feel

the vibe that says to the house. But I tell you, when I'm watching the game in Seattle, and that place is full, and the way that thing's shaped, I kind of get excited. I can understand being at one of their games. I agree. You know, when the Raiders win, of course. That's a lot of...

We keep going. We have San Francisco. That's a lot of coffee and fish. Like that adult vibe. What's that called? That's smooth jazz kind of thing. If you like that, that's cool. Go ahead.

Okay. Okay. It looked all fair. All fair. That's a lot of coffee and fish in Seattle, though. Mm-hmm. Keep going. Go St.

New Orleans. Oh. That is a place you would go on a weekend. Yeah. You had to put the Saints in there. Right, right, because it just, right. Great color scheme. Their game presentation.

The Saints game presentation is top five. Top five in the league, maybe top three. That's how good going to a game in New Orleans. You get to say with really good music as well. Great music. Well, they jam, first of all. They jam in the stadium. Yeah.

They jam going to the stadium. They jam leaving the station. But in game, because they've got the song that they play every time they score. And it's a bump, right? You just go on. Right? Right? No.

That you see you kind of got. Keep going. Keep on. Keep on. Buffalo. Jay Foreman gave a really, really good pitch for Buffalo. He gave a Gordon Gecko. Run through the wall

Had me thinking about Renatozimab I'm sitting here as a Patriots fan And I was like, wait a minute Am I a Bill's fan? Yeah Now, now I don't mean this in a disrespectful way

Because I respect Jay and his passion But when you think about guys Beyond you would have to give That kind of presentation Unless you're from Buffalo To go to Buffalo True

I'm just saying All of that again This is But it was really good Okay Like it was Like Barry. I'm saying it as respectfully as I can.

But Barry, it was good. Yeah. I'll send it to you so you could just tell, like you can grade it and tell me whether this is a thing. Also on the list, if you're going to leave home, if you can stay in the neighborhood, it's not bad.

Baltimore, the Ravens. Lamar, crab cakes. What a do you say, purple. Crab cakes and football. That black and purple looks real good. I can say it, but just to explain your listeners what kind of happened in this area.

You know, the old Washington Redskins and their old NFL, and D.P., you know more than me. They were really protected by, really from the south on down. And then when the Colts left, that really became their kind of market because the Baltimore fans were left with nothing. It was either Philly or that. And those Redskins just extend all the way down into Carolina. That's why it was a lot.

skin fans there. So when they both came to Carolina and Baltimore came in, even though I'm a Raiders fan, I kind of felt provincial about the Redskins. Yeah. And I was like, and there were people from here who said, well, we're going to go for the Ravens. And I felt that was a little disrespectful. Now, I went up there, had some tickets, the Ogden gave me some tickets. And I got to see what's going on up there.

Yep. And it's respect. I mean, it's, I'm not going to lie. It's respect. They are into it. They love their team. Nice little stadium. Good organization.

It's not a bad food town. Right. Get out and have some fun near the water. Airport's not far away. Right. I can, I respect. Respect. Yeah, it's.

I love how he said nice little stadium. Well, it's amazing. It's, first of it was beautiful. It's a beautiful stadium. Yeah. Sitting down in Harbor in Baltimore. And the thing for me is this. I had to remove the commanders.

I just, again, for whatever reason, not wanting to give my heart. I would still support the fans of the commanders, like my friends who love the commanders and doing the other thing. I'm all for that. Cool for the players. I'm all for that. But I can't give my heart, heart. to that team.

And then in the same kind of space, any of the teams that I've worked for and with or around are on this list. Carolina has gone through the same sort of thing. Thomas and Lincoln's like, come back to the Panthers. Look, I was a Panther guy for six years. And the depth of it was good, but I'm just not sure I'm a TEPR guy. Like, again, that's more about the ownership rather than the team itself. So in choosing, and going into the transfer portal, the NFL fan transfer portal, I stand firmly in, okay, I need something that's going to feed my soul for the greater good of my football experience.

Right? This is what this is for. I want to pick a place that one that needs additional fans, right? Right? Because that eliminates. Like, I don't need the frontrunner teams. I don't need to join the frontrunner teams. Like, that's like going on Instagram and following the person that has 30 million people. Now, give me the people that have like 1,200.

So why isn't Jacksonville? Well, because Jacksonville is a dumpster fire, and I don't need to do that to myself. I've already done that to myself, and I feel terrible. It'll be fun. But just the thought of it. So in the list, so they're there to work. And then up next, Barry. Listen.

As a Raider fan, this may offend you. Uh-oh. I know where he's going. Uh-oh. This may offend you. I know where he's going. Uh-oh. But a part of this is proximity.

Part of this is how much they love. But I'm going to, you turn on you. how they love their team and the fact that I am not offended by them the Denver Broncos I knew you were going to say that see some thought I was going to go KC

no no no I knew where it's going to The Broncos at least make me feel like I understand their fan base like we've got Denver and Washington have gone through some things together. Right?

Yeah. Yeah. That Lily guy getting toasted. We need going to go. Dang. Well, but Tony's my dope. That's what they went through together.

Straight for the jugular. They put up in the second quarter. Right. Right. How many they put up? You know how many. How many they put up the second quarter? 35.

Yeah, you know the exact. Don't even fly. Straight for the jugular. That's what they went through together. Right. Right. So, but there's that. But then also.

on the other side of it is a franchise that welcomed me with open arms. When I was like a nobody nobody, this organization welcomed me in and then

helped me progress in my NFL space. They let me come to practices. They let me sit with the, like I literally sat with the GM and the owner for three practices on a bench just watching this team go through what they did. The San Diego Chargers loved me.

Loved me. So there's a big part of that, and there is some future to it. Like I can go back to Stan Humperies and their Super Bowl team, and I'm friends with probably half of that roster still today. Well, what's saying? You're talking about Denver and now you jump to San Diego. What's going on? Well, here's the thing.

Mexico's going to say Kansas City. No. Everybody in the AFC West. All right. Well, nobody in the NFC East. nobody in the NFC East, nobody, not Dallas, not New York, not Philly, not happening. I'm not going to do that. Okay.

I'm not going to do that. Like that's, like, that's me peeking over the neighbor's fence and looking in his window, and I'm not that dude. No NFC North. No, well, the NFC North, quite frankly, it's very boring. I'm sorry. Like the Packers don't need more fans. Nope.

They don't. I'm sorry they don't. Although it is very sexy, as the text line says, it's very sexy. for them, you can be an owner. Like, a part of me wants to buy stock in the Green Bay Packers just so I can be an owner. I want that. Like, I absolutely want that. But I don't want it with Green Bay.

But I don't want it with Green Bay. I was like, hey, hey, Ron. Get over here. We got to talk. I'm an owner. Come on. Come talk to me. And I would be that dude.

So I know better than that. I know not to do that. I know not to do that. Look, okay. So there are at least six Packers fans on the text line. currently. I'm going to give you an opportunity tomorrow. I'm going to give all the Packers fans a chance

to sell me tomorrow on Greenback. I will poke holes in everything they say. I want, no, they will have, but it'll be tomorrow. It'll be tomorrow. All right, Barry. So from those, and I have to remove Carolina. I love Carolina. I love the fans of Carolina.

I'm just not sure that I'm a tepper guy. So let me run through the list real quick. You've got San Francisco, Seattle, the bill. You said Baltimore, New Orleans, Chargers. Denver, charges in the ratings. Yes. From that list will be my team in 2022.

Come September, come preseason, I'm going to be all in. All in. You'll buy a hat, color jersey. Look, I'm going to them. Well, matter of fact, you'll paint the face for the first game. You'll paint the face for the first game. No, Barry, here's the rule.

This is how this is going to go down. Listeners, listeners. This is how this is going to go down. Pate the face for the first team. Look, look, here's what I'm telling you. I'm not buying anything from any of these teams. A part of my transfer portal recruiting is that the fan base and the team need to come get me. Send him face paint.
