Nick brought up Juan Soto and the 15-year, $440 million offer from Washington Nationals to Juan Soto. Now, Juan Soto is a top three player in the world. Top three.

He is fantastic. Top three. And his value, I mean, he's a World Series champion. As a matter of fact, he was the guy, right? He was very important. He was the guy. And young. So how old is he like?

23. I feel like it's. 24? I feel like he's younger than that. Yeah, been around forever. Been around forever. Now, a couple sides to this thing. being that I've never been in this situation.

I don't know what it's like to be offered almost a half a billion dollars guaranteed to play baseball. It'd be really cool also to know where you're going to live for the next 15 years, supposedly. Yeah, to settle in, but you're also locked in to being in D.C. Now, he knows nothing else when it comes to coming in and living here. And from where he's from and his family, this is generational.

This is multi-generational wealth. But it is the value of said deal that left a little to be desired. Because a top 10 player in Major League Baseball, they're all worth over 50 million a year. Yes. Right? Fair to be fair to be said. Oh, yeah, I agree with that.

Right now. You can, you have to have a bit of knock on wood. You don't, you know, talk about injury and all sorts of things, right? The guaranteed part of this. And the comfort of knowing that you have this money in place. I think Bobby Bonillo, or you know that you have this sort of money coming to you. Just wait. You'll be getting another paycheck.

Forever and ever and ever and ever and ever and ever and ever and ever. Now, and he's under contract through next year. So there are a couple of things to play. And some people went in the direction of, well, that's just selfish of him. And I said, but no. He's worth more than that. No, per year, he is worth almost twice that. Because that's 29, 29 million, almost 30 a year.

Somebody, when his contract is up, somebody's going to offer this kid 55 to 60 million a year. Yep. And he'll get to choose where. that is. People just see the 440 million and think, oh my gosh, that's amazing. I see the 440 million. That is amazing. And I don't know that there is a right or

wrong answer to it. I would say yes to it. I don't, well, no, but here's the thing. But I'm not a top three player in baseball. Why would you give up if you're worth, his agreement should be worth, now, let's walk through it here. We're talking about this should be almost

$600 million. Yeah. 700 750 8 that he could if they offered him a contract

for 15 years at 50 which would be under his current market value and under what what the future of the contracts are going to be 750 so for 15 years

they asked him to take a 330 million dollar pay cut to stay with the worst team and currently the current worst team in Major League Baseball. Homesown discount, right? That's not the business that you want to do. No. It's just not.

Like, why would you ask your best team? Listen, again, Washington Sports, y'all are giving me, you're making my stomach hurt. You're making my stomach hurt because you're in a rough place. I'm in a bad place. This is not rough. It's bad. that you traded away top five pitcher in baseball. Yes.

And at the same time, traded away the best leadoff hitter in baseball. Yes. And turned them into something else somewhere else. And you sent both of them to the same place to a team that ended up winning a World Series or played in a World Series. Right? Okay. Then you, the icon, right, Bryce Harper, you couldn't handle.

Nope. Too much hair. You've mishandled Stephen Strasbourg's body, right? You've mishandled it. And they won't admit to it, but that's okay. Like he knows it. Well, that's why you're taking this salary hit because you're keeping him because, quite frankly, you owe him and he knows it. He knows it.

From the World Series team, Juan Soto and Victor Robles are the two guys who are left in this thing. Strasbourg's not pitching. Corbin, we count, but this is a different Corbett. Corbin's the worst starting pitcher in all of baseball. Yeah, it's not great. He's the worst. So, and then the commanders, look. That's a different situation.

I'm going to write, no, it's the same. It's bad management. It's all bad management. It's all bad management. The Wizards. What am I supposed to do with that? They got Bradley Bealback. What else?

Listen. You can find a lot of reliable right fielder. For teams that are having generational seasons, I don't care. Yeah. Like, I thought about the ones. Miss me with the New York Yankees blues. Miss me with it. That's the worst.

And guess what? The A's play in front of 42 people and the homeless. It's true. That's who they play. That's who they play in front of. And that's the place that we're in. We were World Series champions of 28. What is going on?

The Baltimore Orioles are 500. I know they are. Which, to quote Steve Harvey, which lets me further know. Which the Orioles have the best farm system in all of baseball still. They're number one. They're doing just fine. Thanks. I was in a good mood until that conversation.
