Sauter.
Himmy text line, Honda Blinkin Hotline.
What we're going to do, there are a couple of things we need to take care of.
Again, care package, Beatrice Bakery, get the nominations in.
You can text them in.
doesn't require anything other than you deciding that somebody that you care about deserves a smile.
You just let us know, we share it, and we get them some goodies from Beatrice Bakery courtesy of those folks.
On that side, on the other side, we have to kind of wrap our brains around this.
For the Salt Dogs, if we have tickets, a package of four.
plus a VIP parking for tonight.
Same thing.
So if you nominate somebody,
we'll get you the first folks to get a nomination in for Vietje's Bakery.
We will do that.
We will get you four tickets to tonight's game,
tonight or tomorrow's game.
We can do both, as a matter of fact,
with VIP, four tickets in our seats and VIP parking.
Not bad.
Not bad at all.
So you can hit us on the ticket.
at fm.com, the banner for Beatrice Bakery, or you can hit us on the start of him and text line,
or you can call in the Honda of Lincoln Hotline and do that as well.
Nick brought up Juan Soto and the 15-year, $440 million offer from Washington Nationals to Juan Soto.
Now, Juan Soto is a top three player in the world.
Top three.
He is fantastic.
Top three.
And his value, I mean, he's a World Series champion.
As a matter of fact, he was the guy, right?
He was very important.
He was the guy.
And young.
So how old is he like?
23.
I feel like it's.
24?
I feel like he's younger than that.
Yeah, been around forever.
Been around forever.
Now, a couple sides to this thing.
being that I've never been in this situation.
I don't know what it's like to be offered
almost a half a billion dollars guaranteed to play baseball.
It'd be really cool also to know where you're going to live
for the next 15 years, supposedly.
Yeah, to settle in, but you're also locked in to being in D.C.
Now, he knows nothing else when it comes to coming in and living here.
And from where he's from and his family,
this is generational.
This is multi-generational wealth.
But it is the value of said deal that left a little to be desired.
Because a top 10 player in Major League Baseball,
they're all worth over 50 million a year.
Yes.
Right?
Fair to be fair to be said.
Oh, yeah, I agree with that.
Right now.
You can, you have to have a bit of knock on wood.
You don't, you know, talk about injury and all sorts of things, right?
The guaranteed part of this.
And the comfort of knowing that you have this money in place.
I think Bobby Bonillo, or you know that you have this sort of money coming to you.
Just wait.
You'll be getting another paycheck.
Forever and ever and ever and ever and ever and ever and ever and ever.
Now, and he's under contract through next year.
So there are a couple of things to play.
And some people went in the direction of, well, that's just selfish of him.
And I said, but no.
He's worth more than that.
No, per year, he is worth almost twice that.
Because that's 29, 29 million, almost 30 a year.
Somebody, when his contract is up, somebody's going to offer this kid 55 to 60 million a year.
Yep.
And he'll get to choose where.
that is. People just see the
440 million and think, oh my gosh,
that's amazing. I see the 440
million. That is amazing. And I don't know
that there is a right or
wrong answer to it. I would
say yes to it. I don't, well,
no, but here's the thing. But I'm not a top
three player in baseball. Why would you
give up if you're worth, his
agreement should be worth, now, let's
walk through it here. We're talking
about this should be almost
$600 million.
Yeah.
700
750
8
that he could
if they offered
him a contract
for 15 years at 50
which would be under his current market
value
and under what
what the future of the contracts
are going to be
750
so for 15 years
they asked him to take a
330 million dollar pay cut
to stay
with the worst team and currently the current worst team in Major League Baseball.
Homesown discount, right?
That's not the business that you want to do.
No.
It's just not.
Like, why would you ask your best team?
Listen, again, Washington Sports, y'all are giving me, you're making my stomach hurt.
You're making my stomach hurt because you're in a rough place.
I'm in a bad place.
This is not rough.
It's bad.
that you traded away top five pitcher in baseball.
Yes.
And at the same time, traded away the best leadoff hitter in baseball.
Yes.
And turned them into something else somewhere else.
And you sent both of them to the same place to a team that ended up winning a World Series
or played in a World Series.
Right?
Okay.
Then you, the icon, right, Bryce Harper, you couldn't handle.
Nope.
Too much hair.
You've mishandled Stephen Strasbourg's body, right?
You've mishandled it.
And they won't admit to it, but that's okay.
Like he knows it.
Well, that's why you're taking this salary hit because you're keeping him because, quite frankly, you owe him and he knows it.
He knows it.
From the World Series team, Juan Soto and Victor Robles are the two guys who are left in this thing.
Strasbourg's not pitching.
Corbin, we count, but this is a different Corbett.
Corbin's the worst starting pitcher in all of baseball.
Yeah, it's not great.
He's the worst.
So, and then the commanders, look.
That's a different situation.
I'm going to write, no, it's the same.
It's bad management.
It's all bad management.
It's all bad management.
The Wizards.
What am I supposed to do with that?
They got Bradley Bealback.
What else?
What am I supposed to do?
know what else did they do like you got johnny davis to play next to bradley beale yeah i don't
know what we're i don't i don't i don't know the last i don't know i don't know and i'm going to
have to but here's the other part i have to stop rooting for the commanders so that they win
like if i root for them they're going to be the worst team in the unitedsies so you're doing this
for them i'm doing it for them like i they're going to if if i if i disown them you're going to if i if i disown
them, they will win the NFC East.
Period. Because the NFC East
is winnable. It's absolutely
winning. It's a garbage division. It's
chase. But you absolutely
could win it. The Wizards
they're worse than
the Knicks, man. I don't even know
I don't know
what to do. Don't drag my team. No,
you dragged them and you dragged yourself
in everybody talking about, hey, we're
going to get Donovan Mitchell. We're getting Donovan.
Hey, we're going to get Juan Soto.
And you're going to get Juan Soto because, hey, we're going to
pay, overpay for Jayla Brunson.
For Jean-Callel.
For John Cawallel, Stanton and Aaron Judge.
Like, hey, what you guys need is another top 10 hitter.
Yeah, because Joey Gallo's garbage right now.
Listen.
He is bad.
You know what?
I don't, I don't.
He was like four for 56.
He's been like four for 56 of his last.
It doesn't matter.
Of the last, I think they said 40-some pitches in the strike zone.
he has like two hits.
And it doesn't even matter.
I mean, the Rangers completely finessed it.
They completely got it.
Great fielder. Great fielder.
I mean, he's fine.
Listen.
You can find a lot of reliable right fielder.
For teams that are having generational seasons, I don't care.
Yeah.
Like, I thought about the ones.
Miss me with the New York Yankees blues.
Miss me with it.
That's the worst.
Miss me with it.
Nestor Cortez is taking a small.
Miss me with it.
I don't know.
I don't care. Look, you're so good that you're having the best season ever and you could, you could carry a 200 hitter hitter and not feel the pain.
Listen, man, 200 hitter hits in the middle of the Nats lineup. You shut up with that nonsense. I don't need to hear it.
I thought about it. Go away with it. I don't need it. The Wants soda thing. It just won't work because we have to pay Aaron Judge this season. Oh. Oh, yeah. Let me give you the smallest, world smallest violin. I guess if we did trade. World smallest violin. The only problem is then we would lose.
Jason Dominguez.
That's very sad.
I, listen.
My goodness.
You, you go away.
He had like a 430 foot home run in the Rising Stars game.
I don't even care.
U.S.
Avers the world or whatever.
You guys, listen.
I'm just going to be, here's the thing.
And I hope the listeners understand this.
Y'all should really hope the Washington teams do get better.
Because if they don't, I am going to hate on your team.
I don't care who your team is.
I'm going to hate.
I'm going to be Dave Chappelle.
haters club level
hater of all your
team. I kind of want to watch the team. Hate, hate, hate.
Hate, hate, hate.
This is what you go.
You're a hate to your.
You're true of his.
I hate you.
Listen.
I live love first, but this is testing me.
I cannot believe
Victor Robles and
Juan Soto.
Yeah, he said that and I was like,
are you, what?
Yikes.
That's all that.
Crosburgh's banged up every year.
We gave away.
They gave away Trey Turner.
For what?
Yeah.
If you give away Trey Turner, you know what you get, what you're supposed to get bad?
A lot.
Yeah.
Dude.
If you give away Max Scherzer, you know what you're supposed to get?
Dude.
You're supposed to get dude, dude.
You got a bag of chips and some peanuts, but the peanuts are stale and the chips are Walmart.
Like, I'm like, wait a minute.
I don't understand.
I don't understand.
It's not even good chips.
I don't understand.
And I don't even know who they drafted yesterday.
I don't even know.
That's how disconnected I am.
I have waved the flag.
I have waved the towel.
I'm done.
But now I'm at the point now where I'm really almost ready to just start hating on people.
Hey, don't worry.
You got outfielder Elijah Green.
Yeah.
I think he's the guy from IMG.
Yeah.
18 years old from IMG.
Look at that.
See, you're welcome.
Listen.
To replace Watson.
To replace one son.
To replace Trey Turner.
Yeah.
And if we're tanking, tell me we're tanking.
They can't say it out loud.
No, no, tell me you take.
We're in last.
So either you're tanking and doing it on purpose well,
or you're not tanking and you're playing baseball the worst.
The worst.
I mean, they could just be that bad.
Okay, remind me who's in their division.
They could be playing the bad news bears, and it wouldn't matter.
It's the Mets, the Braves, the Phillies.
the Phillies and the
Hey, no problem.
Hey, no, no problem.
Hey, no problem.
No problem.
It's just the Mets.
It's just the Phillies.
It's just the defending World Series champion.
Atlanta Braves.
Hey, no biggie.
Hey, you almost don't have the worst record in baseball.
The A's are right there.
Almost.
The A's don't.
And guess what?
The A's play in front of 42 people and the homeless.
It's true.
That's who they play.
That's who they play in front of.
And that's the place that we're in.
We were World Series champions of 28.
What is going on?
The Baltimore Orioles are 500.
I know they are.
Which, to quote Steve Harvey, which lets me further know.
Which the Orioles have the best farm system in all of baseball still.
They're number one.
They're doing just fine.
Thanks.
I was in a good mood until that conversation.
Camden.
The only division is going to be hopping come October.
The only division in baseball where everybody is at or above 500, the AL East, baby.
I just.
All I want to say is, as my nephew used to say,
stinky poo-poo, uncle, stinky poop-poo.
Hey, talk to me when Aaron Boone doesn't get kicked out of the game.
Well, talk to me when the umpires start calling strikes.
Oh, God.
We're done with you.
We'll close out one-on-one and get y'all set up for the captain's show.
We'll come back.
Watch live on Facebook, YouTube, or Twitch.
