Uh-oh.
Uh-oh.
Old man dance moves.
In effect.
Slide.
Dip.
See?
In space.
You got to do much.
New edition.
This is their move.
Barry doing it right now.
Extend the arm and push it to the side.
Extend the arm and push it to the side.
You know, hit, remember hit the feet.
That's it, man.
You live right here.
Right.
That's what you live, right here.
Come on.
Yeah.
We're going to celebrate today.
Again, in the message,
whatever you are rooting for,
whatever you are desiring, whatever you want,
whatever you need, the thing that,
whatever burdens you we want,
remove, whatever space that you're in,
that you want to change.
We're giving you that change.
Go ahead.
You have permission.
Go do your thing.
I'm rude for you because I'm telling you, I got enough.
I'm rooting for y'all.
So whatever your thing is, I just want you to have a good day.
We just gave away some Beatrice Bakery cake.
All we had to do was texting and say, I'm having a good day.
I'm ready to have a better day.
I need some cake.
We got lemon dropped cake.
Barry, I need to send you a couple of these.
So I'm going to do that.
I'll make a note as well to do that.
I'm going to have Mark I want to send you some cake today as well.
That would be great.
On a day of celebration,
giving to receive,
I have to give in abundance.
That way, I'm just telling you I'm celebrating this space.
This is one of my favorite human beings,
Barry Thompson is with me.
And we say that.
Barry's my dude.
He's kind of my compass.
It lets me know if I've gotten too far out of space.
What are you doing?
Ben Rothensberger said this.
We were just talking about in that space,
what quarterbacks can do, what will be required of Big Ten quarterbacks when they have to be specific and detailed in it.
Ben Rothsberg made a statement saying that at the tail end of his career,
that that team became, the locker room shifted from a team first to a me type attitude toward the end of his 18-year career.
He then, again, as what happens, right, when leaders speak out,
soldiers will speak out and say, hey, wait a minute.
That's not who we were.
Who are you talking about?
And then Roslberger answered and responded by saying,
I should have been more detailed and specific with my critical comments on me first players.
Quarterbacks in a space, leaders in a space, coaches in the space have to be word and detail specific
about the messages that they put out there and the things that they say.
So, Barry, what say you to Ben Rathlisberger and his Me First?
versus team first comment.
There's layers to it, right?
It's like an onion.
The first part is you go in the interview
and he talked about how he was spoiled when he got there
because he had all these vets around them
and he didn't have to do much, right?
And they went.
And so then he turns around
and then evidently he and his crew aren't that crew.
What?
So if you talk about a fault in leadership,
he missed the lesson.
If we're taking him at his interview work, right?
Yep.
He said, I was spoiled,
and he says,
because I had all these guys around me,
and I'm filling in here,
that essentially made it clear
that this is a team-first thing.
I didn't have to do much.
Right.
But when those guys move away,
there should have been a lesson.
Somebody's got to assume the mantle of leadership here
to make sure that it remains team first.
And it seems from the interview, he just passively, this stuff kind of happened, this changes happened.
He kind of sat back and then he makes an observation, which is accurate, right?
I would assume that players are first, a little more me first.
This to me, that criticism to me smacked up when the NBA was going through its changes, right?
They couldn't have old coaches, need to have player coaches, and Dredd started showing up,
and tattoos start showing up and different music starts showing up.
And there was that little dichotomy.
And, you know, there was a lot of talking about the game will never be the same.
But lo and behold, there comes Kobe.
Here comes Steph Curry.
Here comes LeBron.
Right, guys are leaders of the best height, right?
Yep.
That just so you also, a little different.
Probably selfish at first.
Right?
But kind of had the structure.
So I think what was missing, and Ben must have been part of it,
is that transition when he became the
from the newbie to the guy in charge
along with whoever was there
that they missed the boat
and making it clear to the new guys
hey it's okay but come over here
that's how we get fed
so it's active criticism
and in more ways than one
it's actually indictment of himself
you know like they said let people speak and they'll tell you who they are
right right right right right
And instead, from that interview, he kind of tells on himself, as far as I hear it.
And then the other part is accurate.
Why wouldn't the players come in more selfish now?
They grow up that way.
They know the business side of this thing way more than they did before, and they know how cutting dry it can be.
So why wouldn't you come in and be selfish?
Why wouldn't you be about your money?
Why wouldn't you be about your staff?
but leadership is the thing that changes all that
and molded into a team
boy listen
we mean to take him to church on Thursday but that's what
that is the gospel right there we'll throw it the break
we'll come back more with Barry Thompson look we're talking about it
it's that time teams are at camp it's football season
and we're going to talk about it with Barry Thompson when we come back
