It's time to go one-on-one with D.P.
Sponsored by the Downtown Lincoln Foundation on 93-7 the ticket.
Adam in the last train.
Appreciate y'all hanging out.
Yeah, we're doing a deep dab on Lincoln calling,
and maybe some of the folks of the event,
folks couldn't find out.
What?
Yeah, supposedly a festival, September 22nd to the 25th.
They're getting all sorts of downtown.
It looked like it was in the zone.
Zubar area, 14th Street somewhere. Yep. Um, what's the Husker schedule that
weekend? 22nd to 24th. 512, 19. They're probably on the road against Michigan State is what
I would imagine. Well, September 26th would be the Michigan State game. So are they saying you said
24th, right? Yeah, let me double check there.
X, Instagram.
Yeah.
I'd imagine they want to have it on the internet.
I'm here to help.
I'm here to help.
Like I,
here's my thing.
I,
I,
I'm offering people putting events on and,
uh,
22nd to the 24th,
September 22nd to the 24th.
So that's like a Tuesday,
Thursday,
Tuesday to Thursday.
Right.
I have a theory that,
uh,
they might have lost access to their ex login.
I,
because their last post was 20,
23.
And,
but on Facebook,
it says coming soon.
Right.
So I'd imagine it's September,
again but don't know don't know but we'll somebody will find that out and and let us know along the way
again taking off for arlington texas uh again the event spikes under the lights at jerry world at
at t and t stadium looking forward to that um and hopefully by the time i get there tomorrow i
can get over to the stadium and peek in and kind of see what the layout's going to be yeah give
some report to that
see what that is.
Find the news.
Of course, we're checking with Jalen Reyes
and see what goodies he can share with us.
Along the way and then a full day.
And there's two games, at least two games.
And then a third game, but depending on the winners of the first two games.
Winner getting a million bucks.
So, hey, not like winning, is it enough?
but for a million bucks, hey, go get it.
Go get your money.
Well, then I'm definitely going to bring it a million bucks.
Go get your money.
Well, 82,000 plus sold seats.
Plus television.
82,000.
Yeah, the TV money.
It's going to be a lot.
I'd imagine the viewership's really high for that one.
Yeah, I mean, one, and they're going big TV for it, too.
So it's not like this is not a Big Ten plus scenario.
This is one where a network.
going to get its pause on it.
And as a matter of fact,
because they're supposed to show the concert as well.
So there's that.
I'll be in Arlington, Texas,
Thursday, Friday.
Saturday head to Vegas.
Husker volleyball plays UNLV at T-Mobile
arena there in Vegas.
And then
the next
night, it was interesting to see it. I mean, it's Texas the next night. So again, don't get caught
peaking at UNLV and not handling your business. But Texas back to back, then I'll come back here,
hang here for Ohio Huskers, and then take off for Wrigley on Sunday morning and come back
Sunday night. We have to have the discussion, staff is what we're going to do for Labor Day.
there's that.
So I'm putting.
I wish Labor Day was in the summer.
It'd be so much easier to decide what to do.
Well,
because it's always the first Monday after the Husker play.
It's a nightmare.
It's a scenario for us.
Like,
what are you doing?
Like,
why are you mad?
But what's the official,
is the official Labor Day the first or the seventh?
I want to say it's the seventh.
Yeah.
The seven.
Yeah.
So that's kind of what we're,
what we're dealing with.
um
Eric says
DP I'm here to help
then proceeds to cause chaos
I didn't cause in chaos
what chaos do they cause?
Um
I don't just be in DP I guess
I don't know
listen I get blamed for stuff
that I can't even
it's not even impossible for me to do
I think people perceive you going against the grain
when you're just standing still
boy that is that should be on a shirt
um
yeah
I get
I get accused of a lot of stuff just from being different.
I've been told I'm unapproachable, which is hilarious.
We told you that.
You seem like a jolly guy.
People that work here said I was unapproachable.
I have never been scared about you.
That's just, that's kind of like I was like, wow, that's really weird.
It's just strange to say and have somebody say it to you.
I'm like, I have an open.
door. I was like, do you know how many owners of radio stations offices you could walk into
if you worked in those buildings? Yeah, your door truly is open.
That like, unless you're in a meeting meeting.
And it's like, no, you don't take it for granted, mind you. Like, don't just walk up like
because I'm probably on a call. But I give you permission to walk up. And if you have a question
or you have a curiosity, you have an idea.
You know, hey, DP got an idea.
Okay, all right, go ahead.
Give it to me.
Hey, DP got a problem.
Okay, give it to me.
We'll fix it.
If I can fix it, let's fix it.
But yeah, there were, and there were two people who said, mainly who said that I was
on a portrait of which, and you could probably imagine what two people there were.
It said I was intimidating.
And I said, I'm only intimidating if you don't pay attention to what I.
Like, if you know.
how busy we are here.
Yeah.
And to say, so for the listeners, let me pull back the curtain,
that for the amount of radio shows we have and the amount of business we do,
we should probably have three times the staff that we do.
We do a lot with very little.
But that's what keeps us from being a corporate radio station.
Right.
It keeps me from having to rely on if I overwork myself,
then you don't need four people to do all the things that I do,
or all the things that Becky does,
or all the things that y'all do.
Like if we take the superheroes that sit at the big table in the conference room, right,
and make all the things happen that everybody takes an area
and they overwork themselves, but it's good for you to find out how good you can actually be.
and to be successful, right?
Because I never ask you to do a thing
that you don't know how to do.
Like that's a thing in it
that listen, here's what this is.
Can you handle it?
And overworking even feels like a strong word.
Well, I mean, you work a lot.
Right.
But you love what you do.
You love what you do.
And you're good at what you do.
And then we facilitate you being good at what you do.
but as we said with you know we go to events and there we are not a corporate radio conglomerate
we're not funded by capital means outside the building we're not no we we work off of
what we generate as we say we grow we eat we eat or we grow and i tend to overpay people because
I don't want people to feel underappreciated
because I could pay less
and get away with it because quite frankly
we're the only station. So what are people
going to do? I don't think the interns are getting paid before you and
Rebecca took ownership. Yeah, I mean, I just
didn't make sense to me to not like
if you couldn't have bought it a year earlier.
I think I was doing it for a year.
No, we couldn't. No, we couldn't. No,
we couldn't have. But
here's the thing. You have to kind of learn
and do things in order.
But we justifiably could triple in size and just say we're not going to give bonuses and raises, right?
We're not going to cover events.
We're not going to go and give you coverage.
And we're not going to go and get coaches to come in here and talk.
And we're not going to go and get you student athletes.
Like we're not going to go and get you Hall of Famers.
We can go and just do radio and have the lowest common denominator.
I'd like for you to be informed and be performed for.
We want you to be entertained.
Right.
I just, that that's part of the deal.
So if we're going to do it.
And then to bring you NFL, college football, you know, etc., etc.,
you know, Royals, March Madness, like all those things.
But to do them, we do a lot with a little, with a little engine that could.
And listen, I say it all.
all the time
that my favorite part about this station
is that these are,
we have a squad of people that we actually like.
Yeah, that is a nice feeling.
Like,
I've been in places where I did not like my go work.
Like a lot.
Yeah.
I've been in a place where I despised my bosses.
Right.
A lot.
Yeah.
Right?
That we,
we, for the most part,
we get along and we like each other.
And we work hard for each other.
Like,
We cover for each other.
I think it's that part.
That makes it.
Right.
That, listen, Harrison knows.
He needs somebody.
Phone call.
Quick text.
Got it.
You got people in the bullpen.
Right?
Yeah.
Don't come in.
You know.
Yeah.
Texas says,
do you raise more money for charity than you profit?
We don't get any,
like for Wordstock.
We don't give any money for Wordstock.
No, but raising money for Wordstock.
I don't know if that's what you need to buy.
Yeah.
We help raise money.
That's give the Lincoln Day.
We help break money.
Which is a great thing.
It's a great day for everybody.
Well, but I mean, again, this is why we're here.
Like, if, again, it's the people of Lincoln.
And if I didn't believe in the people of Lincoln and fight for the people of Lincoln,
there's no point to me being here.
I could just sell it and let some capital company come in here.
I'll take my money and see you on a beach.
I'll be like Eddie Murphy at the end of trading places with Dan Aykworth,
sitting on the beach with a drink and an umbrella.
Yeah, and we'd be on air probably.
five hours a day at most.
Yeah.
If it got about over by big corporate.
Literally.
You could, I mean, here's the thing.
You could go to most,
air quote, radio stations
in the state of Nebraska.
And depending on what
time of day and what day
you went to that station, there's nobody there.
Yep. There's nobody there.
Even when they're programming
live, again, air quotes,
it's somebody from somewhere else
or a pre-recorded thing from somewhere else.
they're just not doing it.
They're just not doing it.
They're not there.
There's no general manager on.
There's no program developer on.
There's no technician on.
There's no producers on.
There's one person there pressing buttons to keep the recordings running.
And it bothers me a little bit, quite frankly,
to have so many people claim that they are the best in radio in the state of Nebraska,
but you're not really here for the best.
Your headquarters aren't here.
And then their best show is the Dan.
Patrick's show, which I look, you know, nothing wrong with that, but it's not local content.
But we chase them out of here anyway.
We check those folks out.
And then somebody will come along, some corporate will come along and say, well, we're going to give you Dan Patrick for free.
But then you're not supporting Nebraska.
You're not supporting Lincoln.
Listen, if you don't see your favorite, your favorite radio person at Seacrest or the haymarket or at Wordstock or give the Lincoln Day,
they're not local and they're not about you.
They are not.
I'm just pointing it out to you.
And I'm fully appreciative of the businesses that decide to do business with us.
And again, I tell people all the time,
if you're doing business in Lincoln or the surrounding areas
and you want to increase your business or improve your business or your profile,
Come talk to us.
Like, I'm not going to charge you an arm and the leg to do what it is that you want to do.
What we're going to say is, you know your number for what you can afford to spend and not go broke.
We're going to help you build.
But if you tell me, quite frankly, we need it to stay open.
We need help staying open.
Come talk to me.
Because there's some other problem, right?
There's some other problem, but at least we can say that.
But then you pull the curtain back and you show that, hey, there's a number.
another problem, either management or cost or whatever the thing is.
But if you have a restaurant or a business and you don't have a commercial to put on
social media, I don't know, I can't waive my flag any harder than we're waving it.
Come let us do a commercial for you.
Come let us do a commercial for your event.
Right?
You want a Husker?
We'll charge you a little bit more to get Carricker and Grant and Jason and Jay than it would
Harrison and Rudy and Wyman, but it's still doable.
And you'll create top level production for that spot that once it's made, it belongs to the business.
Yeah, we don't just take it running. We take it, give it back to you. What do you think?
And if you like it, we're rolling. Share it on social media as often as you want. Do what you need to do. You can do it. Listen, if you have a business and you don't have a commercial, you should probably call. You should probably come.
down. And again, the beauty of our advertising format is this.
If you're advertising with us from week to week month a month and your event,
your business, your featured event changes from day to day or week to week,
we're the only place that you could walk into at 11 o'clock on a Wednesday,
record a commercial, and have it in the rotation by 1 o'clock.
And then if you then need to change it the following Tuesday,
you could come in and record another one at no additional cost
and have it on air by 1 o'clock on Tuesday.
That doesn't exist anywhere else.
It's not happening.
It's not happening.
You could say that there's a big corporate one.
Right.
There's a show that you like or a Husker that you like or a Husker program that you like.
Let's say it's wrestling.
Maybe you're a Mark Manning fan or you're a tennis fan.
And you want to, you know what, I want to support that.
We opened the door for you to get close and have proximity.
Mark Manning is available to do ads for you.
Jalen Reyes, open to do ads for you.
And that's the bit, right?
That's what we're trying to do.
Right?
Yeah, you're right.
That's a great text.
or maybe have your owner from a sponsor who gets a show 9 a.m.
On Saturday.
Yeah.
How about that?
That might be a thing.
Well, because here's the other part.
You're a nonprofit.
If you're a nonprofit, you can tell your story and your mission better than we can.
Yes, it's helpful to have us talk about it.
But it's no different than a student athlete coming in and explaining how hard they work.
We can tell you what we know about being a student athlete,
but we can't tell you the student athlete experienced like a student athlete.
We can't tell you about recruiting better than Jalen Reyes or Peter Colbell or Mark Manning.
We can't tell you how hard wrestlers work, what it takes to be a national champion,
better than Ridge love it.
But that's what we, that's why we're here to bring all those people to you.
And to keep it brought to you.
You know, yeah, believe it, that's, I mean, here's the thing.
There are people, ESPN didn't want to, they don't have the bandwidth.
They don't care enough about you to be here 18 hours a day.
That's the simple, you want to measure.
Show me the other stations that are doing live radio 18 hours a day, seven days a week.
I can't.
I'll wait.
I'll wait for all.
when somebody talks about who they are,
tell me you care enough to be on air 18 hours a day.
Pay for it, right?
Because it's not sponsored.
It's not 18 hours of day, seven days a week.
Tell me they love you that much to talk about Lincoln,
to talk about Nebraska, to talk about Huskers,
talk about sports, talk about life in general for 18 hours a day
just to hang out with you seven days a week.
There aren't any.
But that's why we're here.
But this is why we're good at it, while we enjoy it.
Because we love it.
Listen, I certainly want local talent to prosper.
And again, I had a chance to stand in front of a business course today.
It's the first one.
It'll be every, you know, twice a week.
And those young people, that's just the fountain of youth.
That's juice to my vein.
Well, it's great that they have a potential spot.
To not have to work on their.
To be in the journalism school or the communication school media degree otherwise and not have to leave the state or not have to leave Lincoln.
That's what a lot of people have to do.
And I hope like the listeners understand that.
And it's the sad thing, but we don't always get to keep a lot of our local talent because there isn't a spot for them.
Rolls are already filled.
There's not a ton of media gigs.
You know, they can't, they don't want to work for the small town newspaper, maybe because they can't make it work financially.
so they have to go to a bigger city out of state.
Then you lose that talent.
And can I laugh a little bit about how we impact the rest of what other media folks have to do?
Please do.
They hate the fact how hard they have to work now.
They hate it.
It makes me laugh.
That's petty Pearson right there.
I am so petty to watch other media outlets and sources companies that now.
have to do more of the stuff they're not good at, right?
Because now they have to interview athletes and now they have to cover events that,
quite frankly, they wouldn't cover.
What was the phrase that you heard behind you when we won that award?
Oh, no, it's the ticket.
Oh, no, it's the ticket.
Here they go again, that damn DP.
That is the phrase that is used far often.
We care about the viewers.
And Ryan, here's the thing.
We feel like we know you and you have the ability to call in and text in
and say, how you doing?
That's why I say, text me what's up, man?
Let's have the conversation.
We want you to be a part of the conversation.
And thank you for hanging out with us.
Like, let me know how your family's doing.
Let me know how you're, I mean, listen, I am in love with y'all and your doggos for sure.
Like me, you, me, you, me, you and your dogs.
Be careful.
We don't need 60 JPEC's going on again.
Oh, me, you know, it is a real thing.
You know, P.
Pecan pie can do what's up, man.
To tell the story that when I first moved here, I didn't know one from the other.
And so I took Uber's everywhere.
I didn't know where I was going.
Well, I'd take the bus.
I'd ride the bus down from right here, right here, right else street, down to the 48th.
And I'd walk around the corner.
So it's, you know, great weather day.
That was a wonderful thing, right?
But the other thing, doesn't see when it's snowing, it's not fun.
But Uber drivers would just fill me in on so much of what,
Lincoln was and what Nebraska was about.
And it is so appreciative.
It's awesome. My favorite thing,
my car was in the shop last week and I had
hopping on Uber and just
wearing the ticket t-shirt. And that is
because he saw the address. He's like going
to the ticket. I'm like, yep. He's like,
that's my favorite part. It doesn't have to be my show
or any of the shows, but he was a big fan of In the Pit
and just talk about how great it is that Grant,
Westroom, Jason Peter. And, man,
like it is great for me personally sitting there.
It's like, it's great to hear those guys.
The pick of listeners just deserve it.
So Texas says,
DP, man, I tried to set up a meeting with you a while back
and never got anything back.
No shade.
I'd love to actually connect sometimes.
I'm here all day,
unless I'm traveling.
Right.
Don't come tomorrow.
But normally you are here like deep in the night.
There's coffee.
If you come down to the mill at 11th and 0,
our station is attached to it.
It's in our station.
If you come have coffee and say,
DP, what's up. I'm going to sit. I'm going to talk to you. That's, or whoever you listen to.
You want to come hang out with Grant and Jason? Come down, a love him to park, jar, have a cup of coffee and say what's up.
That's why it built, that's why I built this here. I didn't build this to stay exclusive and to be
anonymous. No, we want to be seen. Kurt out of boy. Kurt's in the,
Cat dog. See? Appreciate. See? Yeah. You understand my people. I understand my people.
Yeah. It's, it's there.
Skaper says, is bringing two boys to North
to Norris youth football practice. Wow. Okay. Okay.
Go get some work, fellas. Yep. Get your work in. And here's the thing.
There literally is, and I guess we need to start doing formally so people know that they can't.
But you can bring your kids down here to the station and meet the hostages.
Yeah, they'll sign stuff.
Right.
I mean, come take pictures.
Come hang out.
Like, I, man, I, come on through.
Come down for pregame.
Three hours before kickoff, we're here.
And all of our talent will be here.
Right.
Everybody, everybody is here at some point.
Yeah.
Like, they're here for, yeah, 15, 20, 30 minutes, but they're here.
Even the morning, personnel, beat, that group.
And whenever you're here.
somebody's here. I mean, come in, take pictures. As a fact, come buy a t-shirt, come buy a hat.
Right? It's a thing. Right? I did. Maybe you might get one for free. I debt you.
Right. There's a whole, well, if you come pre-games, we literally give them away for free.
Right.
As one who frequents the mill, I can attest that DP is there. D.P. I'm here. Listen, if I didn't love it,
and didn't love y'all, I wouldn't be here as much.
But it gives me a chance to be in the space.
If there's a thing that we can improve on,
I remember it better if I'm sitting here.
If I need to have a conversation with the staff,
sometimes it's talking to a listener,
sometimes it's meeting a potential sponsor.
Right?
Just to say, hey, DP, you know,
got anything that I can attach myself to.
Or, you know, it's fundraiser or otherwise.
I know, and that's more true words.
Like I will say, I don't know how many hours average you work a day here.
Oh.
That's a ticket.
Like for a biggest friend as you are to the ticket listeners,
your doctor's just got to be pissed.
Oh, yeah.
It's, it's a full thing.
You're real fights with the doctor.
Yeah.
Boba Lou says this.
He says, DP, what's up?
Saw a jersey type dry fit shirt last night at softball.
937 ticket softball.
A dry fit, 937 ticket softball shirt.
I just want to get a hold of one.
I wonder someone made that custom or if that was sold.
It may have been one.
Like I gave Rudy one.
I gave Farley one.
Sometimes I will have people make them just to see, you know,
Yeah, what it looks like.
You got me a pair of ticket shoes.
And here's the thing, though,
you guys will be able to come October.
You'll be able to buy custom tickets.
So if you have a show, so let's say you're an early breaker.
And you want a breaker t-shirt or a breaker jersey,
we're going to have those available.
You want an old school.
You want one-on-one.
Hey, I want one-on-one a ticket.
We're going to be able to do those things.
It's coming up.
It's coming up.
So hang tight.
More of that coming.
More one-on-one.
Come back.
Back to one-on-one with D.P.
Sponsored by the Downtown Lincoln Foundation on 93-7 the ticket.
Welcome back, one-on-one.
Shout out to Downtown Lincoln.
Todd Agin and his army as they finally make their way into 11th and O
and start to rebuild and rebrand this downtown area.
Lots to be done.
New roads are looking nice.
Lots to be done.
Bages that are done.
My cars appreciate it.
Yep.
It's, man, that's a real thing, man, just to realize how much.
It's tough in the Midwest, too.
Like, I get it.
And I know people get upset with construction.
But man, when you got constant snow and ice, you got to put salt on it constantly.
It could speed down.
Well, it's just can't.
And we know what it is.
And we know why it is.
We understand.
Some people got a real conspiracy that construction workers are just hanging out.
No.
You go work there for a day and figure out if they're just hanging out or not.
Well, no, I'm going to leave that alone.
I know better is what I know.
I know better.
It is a real thing.
I did.
So there's a jersey.
I should have you grab it and show people what it was.
But it's one of the,
so it's Nebraska Adidas brand,
but custom.
And they asked what we would want to put on it.
Now,
normally for something custom,
I would have it, say,
937.
But this particular one,
I don't know why.
They wouldn't put the third number on.
So I just said,
just put number one.
but I do have some jerseys like the black one that I have
the black huskers I wore it
when we went to Carriker's camp
they were willing to put the 937 on it
so and those are you know I can wear the station
but I don't wear them when I'm covering ballgames
but those are available and we will make them available
to listeners do you want to buy them
and otherwise we're working on some different caps
along the way.
I do, yeah,
we, oh, Harrison, you haven't seen the red
ticket flex caps?
Mm-mm.
Red, white, and black is what we're doing for the fall.
Yeah.
Nice.
Ticket bucket hat?
We probably could.
I think the bucket hat should be different.
They should be for shows.
but then you so here's the deal like i think the brand like in the pit and an early break
the breakers you could probably do a bucket cap in it would sell like like crazy uh in the pit probably
probably but i think a skull cap would probably work um the different shows and then harrison
this is why you need to start to brand your own show um so that you can do those sort of things
They came up with the one because of one-on-one.
That makes sense.
In the pit, there's a litany of ideas.
Right.
Like, there's all sorts of things that are there.
Obviously, you're black, the main color.
Where do we go from there?
Yep.
So there's some things that you will be able to do, but we have ticket.
We have ticket t-shirts and hats down here.
If you want them, you know, come down.
And, I mean, I think the t-shirts are pretty cheap.
Oh, the dry-foot ones are super nice.
Yeah.
Yeah, we have a drive-foot.
Well, we have the dry fit ones.
We have the hooded short sleep dry fits.
Red, black and white.
Sir.
Yeah, it's a real thing.
It's a real thing happening.
Pick it's Zubas.
Oh, listen, Becky is cringing right now.
Wherever she is, she just got a pain in her neck.
She doesn't even know why.
I'm still got my bear Zubas.
I haven't put them on yet.
I'm waiting for game day.
Preseason didn't feel like it was not the right.
time but that first Sunday.
I'm walking in to take it with the Zubis.
They have, I'm going to send you, I keep trying to remember to send you the Chicago Bears
Monopoly game.
Pretty legit.
I, I, I leave it that, I try to leave that stuff alone, but it's pretty good.
The Monopoly is a classic, though.
It's pretty good.
I guess it's just a collector's item that you got to.
I wonder what the pieces are.
Yeah.
I'll send your.
picture of it. I'll send you the screen to that. Pretty amazing, quite frankly. Yeah, it's the thing
on the other side, right? It's the other side of the world that we do a lot of that stuff.
But yeah, Becky and I, Becky is the professor. I'm just the instructor, but because you can,
at the university, it can only be one lead in a class. Yeah. So the lead is. So she's the lead as the professor.
okay um but there are days where i'm leading the lecture and and she's not going to be there
and the days when i'm not going to be there because i'll be on the road and she will handle it but
the fact that we were in the class and a great great class um how many uh well i imagine a lot of them
recognized who you were um well she Becky asked them before how many people knew about the ticket
and i'd say half the class knew okay um and how many people
you know, follow me on social media
because my social media is a little bit more active than
hers and pretty substantial.
But I think we made fans that day.
We're actually going to have a field trip in October
because it's NIL and branding
and having students kind of create their own brand
and know what all of this is about.
We're going to bring them down here
and see what branding looks like,
what marketing looks like in full.
Take them in the second podcast studio, let them record themselves,
grab a couple of elite students and put them on air here.
But yeah, there's some pretty cool stuff going on.
It's, again.
How different is the DP, like classroom DP station TV?
Same guy?
Well, there are people who have never heard me, like,
I don't think you've ever heard me do a speech.
I've seen like the TED Talk speech
Even those are different than
My keynote speeches
You did one
The classic one
I did one
You're talking about Rich Glover game in the century
Yeah that was
Rotary Club
Yes
Those are the kind of things
And people ask
As a matter of fact I'm doing one next week
For boys and girls
I have to check and see what that is
But I get the request
and usually their fears that they can't afford me.
And I was like, just write a number down.
Like, whatever the number is.
Like, you know, if it's a small breakfast, I understand.
But if it's a big event, you know, put a number down,
I'm okay either way.
But to come talk to people and kind of share the story.
But I just keynote TEDDP versus keynote DP versus author DP versus radio hosts.
Radio hosts, you know.
And as, as the Texer said, podcast DEP is a different dude all together.
Most of Nebraska is not ready for podcast.
Well, they technically are ready.
I think we're talking Patreon, BP.
The rules are loose.
The rules would have to be different.
This is red light district.
Yeah, there goes.
This is red light.
This is, yeah, this is working blue or red or red or.
whatever way, whatever color you want to put in front of it.
But just to tell stories about Hollywood and rock, rock tours and, you know, nightlife in the various places that I've been.
If you're talking about athletes, of course, I'd have to leave the names out and just kind of explain, my goodness gracious, you know.
you have the basketball player who cost his NBA franchise a playoff run because he couldn't stay out of the bars in South Lake City.
You might have told me that one off there.
Yeah.
I think I know that one.
Yeah.
There's tons and you learn the stories.
You learn to people and you learn what's going on.
And, you know, as Ever Gray likes to say, you know, he's got tons of stories that he can never tell on air.
because he wants to be able to start his car in the morning.
You know, the days of the, you know, UNLV, right?
That quite frankly, there are things you can't tell.
And that's just how it works.
So they're different.
The students, I could say you could ask.
So one of our own Kayla Star was in the class.
And I just sent her text, I said, okay, tell me how Professor D.P. did.
She goes, oh, my, it was great.
I was like, okay, stop right there.
That's all I am.
That's all I need to hear that it wasn't terrible, you know.
We'll get a second report when she comes in for a show.
Yeah, she gives the DP class grading report.
She really could.
She really could.
It would not be mad at all at whatever she said.
But you're just trying to engage people.
I mean, I'm a coach.
So being around college and high school students,
I mean, you've been around me with these college athletes.
There's a different kind of connection.
and I get to have a different conversation
with Ridge Lovett and Caleb Smith
than Mark Manning does.
They're not better, they're just different.
Right.
That's the connection of me being in a college classroom
is that I can speak to them in a way that other professors
may or may not want to do,
staying within boundary and within purpose.
But I'm a mentor.
and I can't put that down ever.
But we're here to help, and that's what we're doing.
So that's the deal.
All right, we'll shut down this segment and come back one closing segment
and then figure out what we're going to do at 6 o'clock
because I thought it was open, but I see the bullpen is active.
We do got a full bullpen.
You got a full bullpen tonight.
So I think I better, you know, we've got a big lead.
I can put them in the game, right?
I think that's fair.
I think we're, I mean, you took them all the way to the eighth thing.
They just can't give up 10 rounds somehow.
Don't, don't.
We should be fine.
Don't, don't tank.
We'll pull a royals there.
Don't tank it in the six o'clock out.
Yeah, more one-on-one to close that when we come back.
Back to one-on-one with DP.
Sponsored by the downtown Lincoln Foundation on 93-7 the ticket.
Okay, so the challenge for you, Harrison, is to get Sam's house.
Yeah, you sent me the good audio of,
Sam's house. We've got a full playlist. Let's get the Sam's
house. Then we also, here's the list.
Right. So you get your pin ready.
I'll do you one better. I'll get a
no pad out. Right. No pad. So Sam's
house clips joins and rejoins.
We need NFL
promo.
Need it in the system. We need
college football week one
promo. What games we're showing this week?
Yeah, we got TCU, North Carolina.
Is that the only game?
that's one that I know for sure is on the schedule.
I just don't want to misspeak.
Well, just as we, whatever we figure out.
Right.
High school games.
We have two high school games this week.
Yeah, Thursday, Friday.
Okay.
We need to get that promo out there.
If it's not, if it's not out there.
Whatever the royal schedule is for the rest of the week, we need that out, right?
And all of these need to be recorded and into the system.
Into the system, sir.
Fair enough.
Yeah.
And I think that's it, right?
It's pretty good.
Yeah.
And we got everything cooking.
We got, you know, all the volleyball stuff, shout at Insight, partners.
And then we'll have Mike Smith next week, next Friday.
Yep, the first of the month.
So we have to prepare because I don't know what else is going on Friday.
We've got a remote pre-game.
Just, you know, plus a high school game.
So got a lot.
Got to figure that out.
So just handing it over kind of, sir.
Well, nothing wrong with communicating
What needs to be taken care
Handing it over
But there are games tomorrow
No, Thursday.
Two sleeps.
Yeah, we got a couple of sleeps.
You're making me jump ahead.
I was looking at once.
Two sleeps.
Yeah, I get Wednesday on the brain.
You got a lot going on tomorrow.
Wednesday on the brain,
Arlington, Texas, Huskers,
volleyball,
spikes under the lights.
Apparently, I'll get introduced to
Julia
Cole
Julia Cole
former volleyball player
now country
you're gonna end up
sticking around for that concert
there's
zero
well no I'll have to
because the championship
games after
yeah you will
you'll at least catch the tail
I'll be walking back in
oh man
I'll be at the concession stage
all right don't go anywhere
the ticket weeknight
the bullpins coming up
they're going to take you
through the next hour
and then get you to
Jalen and Ray yes
Randy Vonson
and a full night of ticket weekends.
