There's Tex-Mex Southwest Chicken, Supreme Teresa, and steak. So very much looking forward to trying those out, as well as frosted lemonade. Sounds like, it sounds like we're getting close to summer, guys.

It is supposed to be 80 all week, so it is, it's going to be an exciting, exciting day here as Amigos. First job for me was Amigos. No way. Was it? Nice. Seventieth and A. How long did you last?

I was there for two and a half years. Nice. The only reason I quit was simply because of baseball season? Baseball. Yeah. Nice. just was too difficult to play high school baseball with it. Well, I interviewed at Amigos once.

I never did get the job. Didn't get the job? Didn't get the job? No. What kind of discrimination? Yeah, I'm going to have to talk to Carly about this today. Yeah,

one of my favorite things to do was to make the Capelli coffee or run the drive-thru. Oh, yeah. The drive-thru is awesome. Drive-thru is always fun. The window? No, it was the window and the mic. Yeah. The mic was great.

And it was always funny because, The biggest day was when we got new headsets. Oh, yeah. It was a big day. You knew no longer had to hold the button. You could just push it. A little green light would pop up by your microphone, and you knew you were on.

So you'd talk, and then you just push it. You don't have to hold it like you did it with the old headsets. Any nightmare customers that come to mind. Not nightmare. It was funny because it was actually, it was about six months after I job shadowed Greg Sharp. I job showed Greg. Yeah, rest of peace.

And anyway, so it was Greg who was more than gracious with his time and kept in touch with Greg throughout the next couple of months. Well, just on the on a whim, Greg Sharp went through the drive-thru at 70th a Amigos. And it was kind of the most bizarre thing because I was job shouting on him a couple months before and there he was. going through my drive-through. But now, rest and peace to one of the best. Nice. Nice. Yeah, I had, I had some, some celebrity, local celebrities come through when I worked at a roast beef establishment. No free shoutouts. Whoa. Hello. Hello. Did you go to RV?

Hey. Hey. Hey. Hey. Hey. Is a road shout out. I'm the biggest. I'm the biggest no. You can try. Don't button. Yeah. There you go. There you go. There you can't. There might only be one prominent roast beef establishment. But still, it was a roast beef establishment. I always remember Doc Sadler came in through when he was. Yeah, gave him a Jamoka shake. That was very cool. Did you ever, did you ever have fast food experience? Did you ever?

No, I did not do fast food. So, so it was, did, I always heard like some people when they work at the place, they can't eat it. Oh, yeah. Did you ever suffer from that? Yes, I worked at this roast beef, I ever spent for too long that I can no longer eat. Derangled fries, curly fries. Whoa. Were you able, were you able, like, were you willing to eat it while you worked?

I mean, if I, I probably, I'd like them when I first started working there. Yes, but over time, I decided not to. So now that they have a, I don't talk to, but if they have Crickle Crickle Crice as available, you can get something different than the fries. Yeah, this is now turned into too much for this gross beef establishment, but they've got other options. Because I, what I was going to say is I did, I never experienced that at. Oh, amigos.

I could eat that nonstop. Oh, yeah. still can. What's your go-to? What's the order? Okay, so I'll do part of my order. The Southwest chicken cassidia burrito, the soft shell taco, chicken soft. Okay, now we're just branching off into things. If it's lent, I just enjoyed a crisp crab rang goon a couple weeks ago. That was really, really good, Chris Crabber and Goon burrito, obviously. But no, no, no, it was great. I, yeah, and the ranch is unbelievable. Everybody, one of the biggest questions, I always was asked was, how do you make the ranch? And you can't tell him. You just, you got to

I don't know. They never let me do it. You never know. You never know. But you did make the ranch. I did make the ranch. Okay. So you know,

you know how to do it. Yeah. I can't replicate it though. No. No. I'm not trying to replicate it. I mean, he goes,

I promise. You know, I also had a Stuart Bradley come in. Whoa. That was a big one for me. I was a big Stuart Bradley fan. That was when he had his longer hair. Is it the roast beef establishment downtown?

No. It was so over by 27th and, like by the interstate? By highway, yeah. Highway, too. Oh, no, down the south one. Yeah. I'm trying to go.

Where's the south one? By the pedestrian bridge. Yeah, yeah. Oh. Yeah. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Yeah, yeah, yeah.

Yeah, yeah. I never think about that location. Yeah. But it's cool. It's always fun to get the people you recognize to come through. Interesting. Our big nights that we always hung our hat on were Friday nights because you had high school football winding down at Pius and high school football winding down at Sea Crest.

Yeah. And it was just a mad rush because on Friday and Saturday and Saturday. nights are open until two. And so I mean, that's what we were at least at the time. I don't know if they still are. But it was just a mad rush of people, high school, high school games. You knew what everybody was going to get. You needed to make sure the ice cream machine was ready to go. And you needed to make sure you had Mexico fries down.

Now, it was there. It was not up until two any longer. Oh, oh. Dang, must be nice. Were they, was there a thought process behind the small like, uh, ice cream like scoop that you get? Because I always got a little bit of that ice cream. Like, no, I want ice cream. Uh, in terms of what, what do you mean? Well, didn't they hand out when you got a meal and maybe this was wrong? Just a really tiny cup of ice cream. Yeah, there was like a small tiny cup with some sprinkles.

Yeah. Did you ever handle those that? No, we never had that. That was that was a little soft serve cuts. Yeah. That had to predate me. That might have. They might have.

Yeah, I don't know. I guess I don't remember doing that recently. They're closing sooner. They're getting rid of the ice cream, making me goes great again. I just remember, well, they are with. They are great, obviously. With their new menu items. Yeah, we're going to see what I was going to say is.

What I was going to say is, uh, he goes, he goes nostalgic again. All I remember is with Amigos, it was we had, when I was growing up, if you spent over $14, you got Crispos. Oh, Chris. Oh, Chris. They throw them in. Chrispo. Yes. Yes.

So it was like, if you spent over, I think it was like 14. This was back in the day when like soft shell tacos were $1.50. Like it would, I mean, you could just. This was even before I. are working. Explaining why we only heard part of Nick's order because things were cheap back then. Yeah, that's right.

My mom and I would go through, you know, my parents and I would go through the Migos drive-thru and it'd be like, well, you knew you're getting a free bag of Crispo's and it was unbelievable because they would be warm every single time. Sugary cinnamon eat.

We can't read that. There it is. He goes, oh, perfect. There it is. So yeah, the Christos were unbelievable. Well, I wonder if they still do those. We'll have to ask Carly. Yeah, yeah.

Jake, how's it going? Good. I told Carly that I have probably spent several thousand dollars in my lifetime of the Aemgo, so this is great to have some new options to try out. I love Amigos. I have been a fan. As you guys have talked about this segment, I ate there probably three times a week minimum in college at this downtown, which is no longer there. So Amigos is in my blood, literally. It's like hooked into my blood. So this is awesome.

Yeah, pumped up. Absolutely. Like it is. I mean, We spent the first segment talking about it because you can do this, right? Yeah, I mean, absolutely. Everybody's got their memories and ties in here with Lincoln locally. Carly, what did we, what do we bring in here today? We've got some new cassidia tacos with there are different options. We have Tex-Mex, Supreme Southwest Chicken and State. And then we also brought in our new frosted lemonade and limeys.

Right here. Oh, man, this is strawberry. Right? Yeah. Strawberry cherry and blue raspberry? Yes. So you get to choose if you want lemonade or lime made and then you get to choose what flavoring you are.

I'm going to take a sip with the strawberry one. What do you choose? Carly, you lemonade or limineate? I've only tried the limaid and it was pretty good. So, yeah. That's good. Yeah.

That's a good question. It's like on the menu of like, like, you know, number 10 or something like that, the menu or not?

No, it's more of like on a promotional panel. Got it. So it's front center. You can't. it when you come in. Okay. Austin first thoughts on the this text mix.

Just tastes like what I think of with Amigos. I'm a big crisp meat burrito guy, big soft taco guy. This is like the best of both worlds. This is great. Holy smokes. I'm usually a soft taco guy.

So I get a soft tortilla tortilla in there as well. This is like, yeah, this is cool. This just boils down to like my amigos experience growing up. That's what this does. This text max. I get the steak one here.

I'm going to take it by the steak. Thank you for not. Oh, spelled jay uh-oh bach and i kept it clean leave it early break leave it early break that's just like a permanent smile like austin says like you know that's everything you could dream of is right there in that taco right like that's perfect

soft shell hard show steak you got you got the classy you and a class up will we go with the steak yeah i got the every man texnex they're all classy but like steak is yeah it's you know it's prime it's good I'm enjoying this. That's true. I got the Southwest one here. I also think they could be somewhat filling. You ask how many you could eat. Certainly you could. You could go down that route. Don't give me wrong. But I'm also saying, I mean, I don't know that you'd have to. Yeah, they got to figure out. It was a steak in this one. I'm pretty jacked about this one. Supreme chorizo and bacon now that's electric too oh yeah

which I will probably off the air I'll probably go with the Southwest one like Bach has over Oh yeah, not a bad. Great choice. Pops up about that. Yes. Now, is this like March Madness where we're slowly going to eliminate one from the and then there's going to be one winner at the end that stays on board?

They're all winners. These all stick around and stay. We need to know. All right right now. Yeah, they are. And we need to know what the favorites are always. So if you want to rank them, I mean, we're here for it. I will say, is there other items with steak on the menu at Amigos?

I've never had steak there before. Yeah, I think there is like maybe with the build it. Build it. Yeah. Yeah, I always went with the chicken. And the chicken's incredible. I'm sure the sticks great, too, but I always went with the chicken in my 500 that I've had in my lifetime.

Classic. But this might be the new standard here, Austin. Well, I see this has to be like the Amigos drink. They got the perfect blue and yellow. Yeah. Like, if there's a poster drink for Amigos, I mean, I know some people would like drink the ranch, which is not me. Not quite that psycho.

I know it has a great reputation or whatnot. I'll use it, but not drinking it. But this is like the perfect quintessential amigos drink with the blue with the yellow. on top of the new items. Oh my gosh. Well, it's kind of unique too because there's ice cream on the top, which is I haven't even got to the, I don't know whether to mix it in or to try to get the ice cream from the top.

What would you say, Garland? I think it's personal preference. Yeah. I think mixing it in is a little better, but. Yeah, I'm going to try that. I'll mix, then. I just took bite number two of the steak taco. And bite one was good.

I got all the flavors and bite two, Austin. Talk is through it. Well, I can't even describe it. It's just like the perfect amount. ascended. Yeah. Like the first bite was good, but now I got into the actual taco, the cascadia taco itself. And it's, it's like a game changer here. Like, how can I get a regular taco now after this? Which I could because also, yeah, they're still great to be. But this is a next level stuff. I think we've got, you know,

already two people saying this tastes like their childhood, basically. So I don't know how you can get any better than that. And I like I said, I mean, this is, this is fantastic. You mentioned earlier. I'm a soft taco guy much like Austin. You got to get some of that taste. You still get the Amigos soft taco with this. And it is again, just absolutely delicious. So to combine, you know, some of your two loves here can't go wrong. And four delicious flavors. Like you said, Jake, I'm going to try some of these other ones here once we go off here. Unless we just want to savagely just start eating. Yeah. So I'm joined by Carly

Two years. Two incredible years. Oh, absolutely. And Jan is awesome. She really is. So you office out of the 14th and Corneraster, our highway two location? Yes. Okay.

Do you ever like visit to other locations to see how are they going? Like check in, say. Yeah, every once in a while. Or we'll do like a photo shoot. So we'll go to a different location. And so, yeah, we're kind of traveling back and forth. Okay. Did you also spend more than your college tuition on Amigos like Jake did?

You know, I don't regrets either. No, absolutely not, no. I was kind of out in Ashley Heights area, which we have one out there. So yes, definitely. Yeah. But again, that one downtown here that's closed, they would open that back up. I'd be going there probably twice a week again like I used to. I'd be bringing back to.

You turned 10 minute walk into a seven minute walk. Yeah. Oh, I would. I'd run over there if I had to. I miss amigos down the town so much. It's just so great. But we do do delivery too. You do.

So you got to think about that. These are worth your delivery for sure. Get them to your place. I mean, I feel like I need to see the map. Because I think I've been to every Amigos in town. How many, you know how many there are in Lincoln or not?

In Lincoln there's 13. I've definitely hit them all. Yeah, 13, got them off. I've hit the current ones and the ones that have changed to different places are shut down. So that's probably up to like 20 at some point. Oh, for sure. So I've hit them all.

All right, Jake, we have, we have, We have the map pulled up here. Okay. You can work through this here. I look through it. I mean, okay. The one of the highlands for sure,

I knew it yeah This one here I mean, they all look familiar to me. So I'm going to say I had been to every single amigos in the Lincoln vicinity. They used to have one in Beatrice too. They brought back a food truck of Amigos and Beatrice, which I also have dined at. Well, Jake moved away from Beatrice. So Amigos didn't have a bit, which is just such a shame.

In high school, I gave a lot of business too. I feel like I'm kind of a shareholder of Amigos at this point. I like to me. We love it. I'll talk to Jan about that. Well, I'm a Tia taco holder of Amigos. And that's really what matters to me. You are.

Incredible stuff. Carly, this has been a delight. We appreciate you bringing in this incredible food. Oh, absolutely. And, you know, I hope you don't feel bad that we ate it in front of you. No, I'm so glad you did. I've had it before. But we're trying to try this out and see how it is and just prove it's delightful.

But one of my favorite things about Amigos, too, is you guys, I got these daily deals every day. So every time I go to Amegas, got at least jazz. that out to even get a deal on that. So yeah, there's there's no bad choices at an amigos, certainly not these, uh, these new cassidy of tacos. I used to go there in the days when they had like the chicken soft tacos on special. You save a lot of money on those. Oh, yeah.

And this is probably a weekly occurrence for four years in a row. I didn't miss. What stops you now? Things have life's changed. I need to obviously get back on track. Yeah. It's 13 locations. Sometimes you lose our way in life. Now it's time to get reminded to get back to where we need to bring the lost sheep home. The sheep needs to come home for sure. I got to bring it back to amigos. I can only imagine how labor intensive putting one of these cassadia tacos together, even the frost of lemonade as well.

I can only assume the service stays just as quick as always. Oh, yeah. They're always doing their best. Now, you missed the previous segment because Nick was in my seat. And Nick told you all fair that he was a manager at the 70th and A amigosos when he was like, 15 or 16 years old. That's amazing. And he still stands by the fact

Amigos was great then, it's great now. He just ate the, he just chugged that blue raspberry. He guzzled that thing. It's gone. It's like, you know, work to walk out for a brain freeze with how delicious is.

You do, I'm concerned about his mental being. He's going to survive. That's kind of scary. Yeah, that's great. We have, um, workers that have been with Amigos forever and always new ones too.

So yeah, always, always, always working together. We have the Amigos casidia tacos, marinated steak, which I had incredible.

Tex-Mex. Oh, yeah. Yep. Get you one. Southwest chicken, Bocquet. We also try the Jerizzo and Bacon Supreme Taco,
