You're listening to one-on-one with DP on 93-7 the ticket and the ticketfm.com.
It's been a great one.
I thank you all for hanging out on a Saturday.
Building the ticket and stretching it out,
the whole point behind it is really, uh-oh, breaking news,
but it's going to be NBA trades all weekend.
Don't tell me the Celtics are involved in this.
Oh, not yet.
Okay, thank you.
You know that's going to happen.
You know you're getting that.
I'm holding in my breath.
You know you're getting that alert.
The Chicago Bulls trading Lanzo ball to the cabs for Isaac Okora.
Hmm.
Trades are going to happen this weekend.
That's just business as we know it.
And yes, your Boston Celtics are going to be in the conversation.
Look, every.
Look.
Everick's telling you that in Salt Lake City, those conversations are in full.
And that Danny Aege and his son, there are a couple of players on the Celtics that they would like to have.
And I think you might want to get comfortable with the idea of seeing Ace Bailey, some draft picks, and maybe marking it in Boston.
See, I just, I don't, I think this is a, you can call it a blowout.
There's certain contracts that they had to move.
And that was Drew Holiday and Chris Taps, Brazingis.
I think if you stop the blowout there,
you still give Jalen Brown his full year
to prove he's the number one.
Maybe he's not healthy.
Maybe even get Jason Tatum back.
But you have Peyton Pritchard,
the sixth man of the year.
I mean, they've got enough,
I think, there to still maybe be,
you know, hover around,
especially with the play in to get into the playoffs.
And so I hope they just,
and Brad Stevens,
I hope he's smart enough.
You don't always have everybody,
oh, next year's down,
blow up, blow it up, blow everything up.
This is a team that just over a year ago,
want a title with that main core.
Like I said, there were some contracts they just had to move on from.
And those were the two I thought they had to move on from.
So I hope they're done.
And my God, don't trade my man, Derek White.
Here's the thing.
The biggest transaction was not securing Danny Age.
The biggest, quite often, the movement of executives in space is undervalued.
And we under assess.
to understand how many different ores in the water
Danny Aange is managing at the same time.
How many different streams is he managing?
And you forget that,
that the ability for him to have contract talks with people,
he talks at a different level than everybody else.
And the Celtics just assume,
you think it's natural.
The natural order is that the Celtics
who end up at the top of the NBA
once every 12 years,
simply because they're the Celtics.
While you were there,
and then what you forget is that you need to fight like hell's day there.
You need to fight like hell's day.
Because if you don't, somebody else is coming.
And guess what?
Your rival down the street showed up.
The Knicks showed up.
The Sixers took a step down, right?
Because they stopped paying attention to.
And I think the thing that happens, Bob, is that we have to accept that none of our programs, none of our teams, none of our organizations, are going to look the same from year to year unless, unless the leadership allows it.
And I, listen, keep talking about it with Nebraska.
The assumption that Nebraska as a blue blood program is going to get its natural evolution back to greatness.
No, no.
The opposite is actually true that you can get so caught up in believing that you are the Huskers of the 90s that you forget.
30 years ago, we have different technology, we have different priorities, we have different priorities.
and now you have different rules of engagement.
And Bach, it's different money.
It's different.
Everett just told us we can't even fathom
how much money that you and LVT would have gotten
if this existed.
That's 30 years ago.
Can you imagine the amount of money?
The amount of money that's being processed through Duke right now.
where all of your starting five got drafted in two days in the NBA.
How much money are they putting in the Duke basketball program,
Bach?
That's what Nebraska's shooting for.
That Rutgers and Illinois had multiple players drafted,
and then Huskers did.
Don't go anywhere.
Tank, Sandman, coming up here on the ticket.
Don't go anywhere.
