Starting point is 00:00:00 You're listening to One-on-One with D.P. Brought you by Mary Ellen's Food for the Soul. On 93-7 The Ticket and the Ticketfm.com. Welcome back. One-on-one. The current. Willie, I want the current RBI leader to the softball. Current RBI leader.
Starting point is 00:00:41 As they currently stand right now, he has 24 RBI leader. B-I-24 steaks, as we call them, rib-eyes. Rib-ey-a-ribes. Dem-deer ribbies. Ribis. So we'll give away a packet of four vouchers for you guys to use. What's, I mean, so let's go through it. What would be your favorite promotion?
Starting point is 00:01:15 Like, is it $2 hot dogs? Is it dollar popcorn? And you're a family guy now. So like which is it is it Sunday Sunday what's what's of these promotions? I haven't been to Sunday Sunday yet so I can't speak on that one. So a dollar dollar small popcorn dollar sodas. That sounds that sounds like a blast. Right like like that that simplifies.
Starting point is 00:01:37 Ellie would eat that up right. That was something that would simplify that. You've got Saturday where the play place she is just in love with. We try. She watches the game. Yeah, she watches the game but she just wants to run around most of the time. You take it to the outfield letter. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:01:53 Have you sat out there as well? On the berm, no, I haven't sat out there yet. Where the playground is? Because there's a playground in the out. Yeah, the playground. Yeah, the playground is in left field. Right field. No, it's, no, you're right.
Starting point is 00:02:09 It's in right. Yeah, it's in right. Because it sits right there beyond the fence. Softball's in left. Yeah, it's in right field. And, yeah, she, we went there one time when it was warm enough for her to be there. and she was there the whole time. And I just kind of stood on the outside
Starting point is 00:02:24 and watched the game while it was going on and she was just playing there. I was like, okay. I mean, so weiner Wednesday. There's only one entrance and one exit, so it's okay, you're safe. Yep. Weiner Wednesday's $2.
Starting point is 00:02:34 February brand hot dogs. See, Weiner Wednesday was good. I had like three hot dogs. And then the, what was the beer night? $2 select tall boys on Saturday. Yeah, that one was fun too. Although Thursday, so it'll be next Thursday, the 30th,
Starting point is 00:03:00 $2 off draft pints, $2 sodas, and select all boys. I'm not the head of a Salt Dogs game. Some Thursday action. Yeah, and I saw you trying to pit your first pitch versus Nix. Yeah, mine was better. I can't tell. Was Nick's a strike? No.
Starting point is 00:03:22 Both of them, honestly, both of them were probably in the same spot, but I say mine was closer, and by today's umpiring standards, it's a strike. People keep forgetting, I keep putting that in there. By today's umpiring standards, based on what I've seen in college and MLP, it's in the same place. No, mine was closer. It's almost the same place. Mine is closer.
Starting point is 00:03:45 Mine is closer. Do we have, what we need is to impose? frame by frame. No, you need to impose the, you know how they have the batter's eye. Yeah. And the nine, the nine spaces.
Starting point is 00:03:56 Yeah. And then have it like show where the ball went. Mine was like that if, if I'm facing a right handed batter, you would hit him on the hand. No, mine is that, that mine was right on the inside. You'd hit him on the hands.
Starting point is 00:04:08 I got him, I got him, I just, you know, running in there a little bit. He checked his swing, but it was a called strike. I'm just,
Starting point is 00:04:16 I'll have people look at, we have to put them side by side. So that's what you need to do. The angles are different because his is from back behind the catcher, and mine is from right up on the mound. The recording is. So it's different angles. But you can tell mine is better than this.
Starting point is 00:04:31 I'm just going to say, Jeremy says, Hey, Mark and Park is currently hanging on to their lead in the championship of the Major League Baseball Partner League Best Ballpark Online Voting Challenge. They're trying to upset the number one Lancaster Barnstormers. You can go to Ballpark Digest, and vote for the salt dogs in Haymarket Park.
Starting point is 00:04:52 Do it. Do it. Let's see how difficult this is. Because that will tell you whether people are going to do it. I'm not going to click on on this computer. Some of the best ballparks. You're in the final four. Nice.
Starting point is 00:05:06 The Haymarket Park is in the final four. Haymarket. Gorgeous. Is that what I'm seeing? Is that what I'm seeing? Come on ladies and gents. That's weird. Vote Haymarket.
Starting point is 00:05:18 Why have I not heard about this? I don't know. I don't know. I'm trying to see what it is. Jeremy, is that right? Because it's got a bunch of different people in it. 2022 MLB Summer League's best of the ballpark's fan vote moves to Final Four. And it has, but it has, so the rankings for 2022,
Starting point is 00:05:46 and that's for collegiate rankings. So places, I guess, where college teams play, but that would qualify it for Haymarket Park. So I don't know. You have to send me the exact link, Jeremy. Get me the exact. Yeah, I don't see it on it. Yeah, because I'm looking at it right now.
Starting point is 00:06:10 I don't see it on it. And Best of Ball Park's 2022. Haymarket wasn't even in the tournament. All right, Jeremy. work. Come on, Jeremy. Get to work, man. You got to send us an actual.
Starting point is 00:06:25 I will vote for a head market. I will vote for it, but you got to get it. Give me the right link. Get it right. Yeah, to get that done. Because they're not going on here. Yeah, because my old ballpark, the Salt Lake Bees,
Starting point is 00:06:39 they had a neighborhood park, and Smith's Ballpark, and they've been going through upgrades up there. So I'm going to try to get out there and see them as well. Pretty nice little ballpark. Neighborhood Ballpark. It really is a neighborhood ballpark. across the street there's a separate one here it is that's what i was asking for he sent the actual
Starting point is 00:06:56 link well that's what i was looking for so they have two different voting votes yeah that's what's what we're looking for so let's see here let's see what we got oh so okay don't if you go just to the website don't click on the 2022 MLB summer leagues best of ballpark click on the 2022 MLB partner leagues to the partner leagues they're up against clipper magazine stadium. That place looks nice. Rico, stop it. I'm just saying. Rico. It looks good. Stop it. Look at it.
Starting point is 00:07:30 Stop that, Rico. Look at it. We'll have none of that here. It even says it's a David versus Goliath story. No, Rico. Haymarket was our number 27 seed. I don't care. Thanks to upsets elsewhere in the bracket, managed to make it to the finals. There's no blasphabing of Haymarket Park. It's not going to happen.
Starting point is 00:07:50 Stop it. I'm going to vote Haymarket. I'm going to see. It's a better picture. Like, they framed it better, but come on, that doesn't make it better.
Starting point is 00:08:00 It is really, I didn't say it was better. I said it looked really nice. Don't, don't, don't, words out of my mouth. Kippa magazine stinks.
Starting point is 00:08:08 It's in Lancaster, Pennsylvania. I don't care. Sorry about it. I don't care. Stupid. Well, as of, as of when I,
Starting point is 00:08:18 when I clicked my vote in, Haymarket was winning $51. percent of the vote. Keep voting, people. And if I check on this here computer or mine, yep, 51% Haymarket, 49% Clipper Magazine Stadium. But it says you only get one vote per day. Yeah, well, that's my phone. This is a computer. So take that. Teeter. Teeter. Yeah. So it's, yeah, ballpark digest, MLB partner league's best of the ballparks. And this is the finals. So Haymarket Park is in it. So Jeremy, you should post it. it again and please tag 937 the ticket so we can get more listeners over there to get to it if you can do that post it on tweeter that that's what we're going to say so just tag uh you have permission to to to tag 937 the ticket you can tag me as well um brother and we'll get that
Starting point is 00:09:08 um there um anonymous riko uh anonymous rico uh anonymous rio anonymous ryan says it still surprised riko's pitch didn't double hop in and it was a balk it wasn't a balk it was no balk because you You didn't come to a set, and the wiggle didn't impose on the hitter. No, it didn't. So, I'm not sure. Not a block. It's clever. Don't look.
Starting point is 00:09:33 It was a little. Don't hate. It was a little Tiante. I was adding some flash, some flair. It was a little Louis-Tiote-esque. I wasn't bothered by that. I watched some Johnny Quato videos before I walked in. So, you know, I had to throw a little shimmy in there.
Starting point is 00:09:49 Actually, you did. You did pretty well. Everybody keeps saying I lobbed it. I didn't lob it. It wasn't straight on a line, but it wasn't lobbed, right? I can agree with that. I didn't throw it. It wasn't, you know, 65 miles per hour like Nick is claiming his was.
Starting point is 00:10:05 But it was there. How does Nick even know? Apparently they had the, they had the gun on. So they had the gun on for him, but nobody else. Apparently. He didn't even shake hands with a catcher. He really didn't. He just kind of walked away.
Starting point is 00:10:19 So I don't know. He, like, grabbed his arm right away. Like, oh, that's what I threw it now. Come on, Nick. If you threw 65 and your arm hurt. Noodle arm. Also, also, you had, like, bullpen time that you were warming up. Yeah, he was a debats.
Starting point is 00:10:34 Yeah, do them putting in. Yeah, you were doing all that. I, I've fresh. Never done it before. He's making fun. He's like, why'd you stand right on the rubber? I was like, I didn't know what to do. I didn't have done it before.
Starting point is 00:10:44 There was no way for you to know. Look at me like that. There was no way for you to know. I'm surprised you didn't slip. And it's like, well, that's Hayter Aid. Better than yours. He wanted you to slip.
Starting point is 00:10:54 He wanted you to slip. So whatever, Nick. He's just mad. Don't do that. He's just mad because the non-baseball player had a really good pitch. Well, and he's a catcher. So he would probably be better throwing it back to the pitcher.
Starting point is 00:11:06 Yeah. He should have. He should have done the first pitch. I want you to throw it to me and I throw it back to you. Yeah, that's what it should be. So the next time we get to do that, it'll be, we'll ask if Nick can catch. Yeah, there you go. and he'll toss it back to the pitcher.
Starting point is 00:11:19 And I want Nick in full catcher's gear. Perfect. Right? Perfect. Like that has to happen. We need that. We need Nick in catcher's gear. Let me throw it.
Starting point is 00:11:31 Let me spike it so we can see if he could block it. Because if I actually put any, if I actually try to put any smoke on this, any heat on it, it's definitely going to go into the ground. Like I'm not going to be able to. I can't control that. But that's kind of what we want. Exactly. I want to see him block it.
Starting point is 00:11:46 I want to see him, you know, get over. I want him full. Roger Dorn. Prex Switch Preach, sir. I want him, what's the catcher's name from Major League? Jake. Jake Taylor. I want him full Jake Taylor, just bouncing, trying to catch a wild thing.
Starting point is 00:12:01 Perfect. I'm just going to check it as hard as I can. I don't know where it's going to go, but. Who, he's up for it? You got to get to it. So tomorrow, during the first segment, a one-on-one, we will have a contest for one of the betting. practice slides.
Starting point is 00:12:23 Right? And it's probably going to be three for the win. Beautiful. Love it. Right? I love the changing questions. Three for the win. As a matter of fact, if you want to call in now, I'll give away a pack of four vouchers for the salt dogs.
Starting point is 00:12:39 If you want to call in and do a three for the win. See, everybody thinks they know everything while they're listening. but then the pressure of doing it when you're when you first of all you're only going to have five seconds answer so these are not things that you can google in five seconds no so either you know them or you don't so vershaun got me with the other day he just asked me like a question and i was just like uh i couldn't think of anything and he goes oh come on i was like you put me on the spot my brain doesn't want to work right now i'm sorry well i mean because everybody thinks this is easy sit here and just rattle off stats and and players and that sort of thing and it's not So three for the win, even if I let you pick the team, it's hard to do. It's hard to do. So you guys could call in 402, 464, 645, 685, you feel up for the challenge. If you feel, I mean, don't be scared. It's just a question.
Starting point is 00:13:36 You don't have to be. I mean, it's understandable if you're scared. And it was so funny, too. So at wrestling last night, one of the guys that caught me, the guy that actually offered to buy me a drink, He said he misses the three He misses the three for the win But he also said Well why don't you have a mailbag
Starting point is 00:13:52 I said I have a mailbag It's called a text line Text to whatever you want Like you have a question So in the final segment today We'll give people a chance Just ask me questions You can ask me one question
Starting point is 00:14:05 One question Everybody gets one Everybody gets one question And we'll just rattle through We'll rattle through it Well everybody gets one We'll ask DP and I'm like, just ask your question and I will do my best to answer.
Starting point is 00:14:19 I'll be honest about it. I'll be honest about it. Like my answer may be due to honesty. I can't answer that question. That's what me and Nick do on Thursdays. You know, you can text in any question you want. We might not answer it, but you can text it in. Well, it's things that people want to know.
Starting point is 00:14:37 And, you know, you have the opportunity. So let's do that. We'll throw it the break. and we'll come back so you guys could fire away, put them on your text, get them on the Sauter-Hammy text line, and if you ask questions, I will answer it.
Starting point is 00:14:51 I'll also give away some tickets to see the Sault Talks. Watch live on Facebook, YouTube, or Twitch. You're listening to One-on-One-on-One with DP on 937 The Ticket and the Ticketfm.com.
