Final segment, hour one, as we head into the noon, hour on one-on-one.
Greatly appreciate you, folks on the text line.
Don on the Sauterhaman text line says this.
This year, I want a drink from the fire hose of the legend that is year-Mack re-rule coaching success.
I won an undefeated non-conference record
and to be in the running for the conference title.
Now, if Bach and I were joking before the break,
that expectation,
two wins in the non-con.
But the biggest non-con sits in game,
in game one.
And Bach,
so if you had to, if you had to,
to wage a percentage of your monthly earnings on the Huskers beating Cincinnati.
Right?
So 10%, 20%, 30%, 40%, 50%, 60%, 70%, 80%, 80%, 90%, 100% of your monthly earnings.
If you were forced, feet to the fire to say how confident you were and how much you trust
and absolutely believe that the Huskers beat Cincinnati on August 28.
Bach, what percentage of your salary?
Text line, tell me what percentage of your monthly?
Do you feel so confident?
Again, I'm just taking the pulse and temperature of the room.
What percent?
Bach?
I would have to go with a rather lower percent.
I probably go, I mean, because I do see it as a 50-50 game,
kind of like you were saying.
so I'd probably.
I'd like y'all, but I don't like that.
I mean,
but it goes back to what do we know and what don't we know.
We know Cincinnati beat Arizona State last year.
That was a playoff team.
We know they finished with a lot of losses there.
They only got to five wins.
Their coach is also the third year,
Satterfield.
Yeah.
And his third year in Cincinnati and a hot seat.
But at the same time with the way the Big 12 went from worse to first last year,
who's to say we're not facing the Big 12 champions?
out of the game. We don't know.
We know versus
y'all are hilarious.
Cheeseburger says 30%.
Scooter says 1%.
But this is the thing, right?
I don't know.
I don't ever want
to assume the pulse and temperature of Husker Nation.
I get in my head and get
my, no, no, Scott.
Not mine.
Yours. Yours.
Yours. You tell me what you're willing to, what you're willing to risk from your monthly Saturday.
Here's my thing. I want to use the platform to get more information, to get more data.
And I don't, I can look at Husker offense and say, okay, the other things I see that are good, these are the things that I have some concerns about, but also understanding that we're watching after week one, we're not watching the finished product.
and the mission wasn't for Saturday's practice to be the finished product.
That literally is not the truth that's never been the case in any camp I've ever been involved in or been around.
That's never been the case.
Quite frankly, I want to see if you can line up together, if you can exercise together,
if you can take rules and commands.
Do we get on the same verbiage, those sort of things?
But that first Saturday, it's its own beast.
And then you put it on public display.
Bach, what I can say is every high school program that I've been in,
first Friday, second Saturday, we would always open the practices.
For parents, for, and then what would happen is, you know,
scouts from other teams would come and see what, you know,
let's go see what D.P's doing.
And then I would be very strategic in what I would show them, right?
here's what I always showed them being uniform being uniform that is a thing you can control
always in high energy pace and tempo always never sloppy football never sloppy drills
never sloppy practice never never sloppy transition right and then even if you're
padded or not padded you can be physical you can be physical in the presence right hands
feet, solid base, contact, right, and then competing for live balls.
I don't have to take people to the ground to be physical.
How I compete from my feet up and from my head down tells me everything.
So we're trying to figure out what this Husker team is based on what the Husker program is and where we wanted to be.
We're going to give away some ice cream in the next segment.
I'm going to read your text right at the top of the hour,
and then Bach and I are going to talk about SummerSlam,
because we have to.
Those are the rules.
I don't make them.
Yes, I do.
Those are the rules.
We'll talk SummerSlam when we come back to one-on-one.
