Starting point is 00:00:00 You're listening to one-on-one with DP on 93-7 the ticket and the ticketfm.com. Final segment for one-on-one, Blurtellate Hill's Omaha. Bach, the black shirt, coach, Kenny Willey. We'll step in along with Bach, and they will carry you through to 3 o'clock. Jay Foreman, the Hall of Famer, Austin Orman, will carry us through until 6 o'clock.
Starting point is 00:00:28 Shout out to the fine folks who are in the building. Again, go to blur events.com slash Omaha. Choose your package. You can buy tickets at the door here, but they recommend that you go to the website, go to the link, and follow it yourself. Do it that way. That's what they suggest. Expecting, you know, 900 plus under the big top tent today.
Starting point is 00:00:52 So greatly appreciate it as well. Get priced at $94 all the way up to $144 for all-inclusive. So come on through and do that. And again, we go back and shout out to Dan and Canopy. Pointing that out that literally why we point out that you have to cap it and it doesn't have a long run capability. No, it has extremely long run capability. That's why it exists as we sit.
Starting point is 00:01:23 But I said that because I thought that at some point the adults in play, the people in positions of power, the people who are under the, who have the responsibility. It's not just their job. It's a responsibility of them not doing bad things with the power, not doing bad things with the money, not doing bad things with the resource. That's, I mean, that's, if you got the job, if you're the head coach, the honorable thing to do is to work in that space under rules of integrity and standard.
Starting point is 00:01:59 That you would only do things that, quite frankly, and I was told this by John Thompson long before, that he couldn't make a decision in private that he wouldn't make in public. And I want that to resonate with you, that he refused to make a deal in private, that he would not make in public. So if this deal, this thing that he was going to do couldn't be done with the front page of the Washington Post reporting, then you probably shouldn't do it. That's the kind of accountability. Joe Gibbs would say all the time that he could not work at the Redskins' lowest standard. He had to be above the lowest.
Starting point is 00:02:43 He had to set a new standard of how good business was being done. The problem isn't the cap. The problem isn't the resource. The problem are the people who are given the freedom to manage this money and these brands, and they aren't doing a good job with it. it. The problem isn't the cap. The problem isn't the transfer portal. It's not
Starting point is 00:03:08 revenue share. It's not NIL. That's not the problem. The problem are the people who are in positions of power who simply won't do the right thing for it. And if you wouldn't do it if you wouldn't do it for the fans, if the fans knew
Starting point is 00:03:25 what was going on and they wouldn't like it, you probably shouldn't do it. Like, that's pretty simple to me. Stephen says this. I will get to your text before we go. The Big 12 conference gave stores to be the Bionic elbow. It should have never had to.
Starting point is 00:03:46 It should have never got to the Big 12. It should have never got to the judges. It should have never got to the NCAA. It should have never got to Texas Tech. That's my point. It should have never got to Texas Tech. It should never, never got past Texas Tech. That there were no coaches in the room who said,
Starting point is 00:04:09 we're going to do the right thing. That's the problem, that there's always somebody willing, in all of these programs, there's always somebody willing to be the shortcut guy. There's always somebody willing to be the bad guy. Instead of there being more people who simply said, that's not who we are. That's not how we're doing business.
Starting point is 00:04:33 That's not our brand. Our brand is not cheating. Our brand is not shortcuts. Our brand is not betting. Our brand is not any of those things. But when somebody is willing to say that that is their brand and that you're okay with it, you as the fan base and you as the money behind it have every accountability and every responsibility. you say, that's not who we are.
Starting point is 00:05:01 Let's not do that. 2312 says, I'm late to the conversation, but wonder if you discuss you this is simply Texas tax plan to strengthen her case on appeal, that if source goes undrafted, the supplemental draft that he will sufferable harm. Why would you do that? Why would there be three
Starting point is 00:05:22 major factions of athletic departments and sports throwing themselves under the bus for somebody that did not have the integrity to not bet on sports while they were a team leader and a part of an organization. Betting was bigger than the program and the friendships and the brotherhoods that he was a part of. And if that's who you're going to die on the hill for it, that's who, if that's the who you're going to die on, you deserve everything that comes with it. And Texas Tech, you deserve everything that's coming.
Starting point is 00:05:56 Don't go anywhere. Bach, black shirt, Coach Kenny Willa. They'll take you through to 3 o'clock. I appreciate you. You're hanging out with me. Being thoughtful, considerate, and good. Thank you for hanging out with me. Blurt tailgate, the Hilton, Omaha, more on 937.
Starting point is 00:06:13 The ticket from the Big Tenth at 11th and Cash Street, Omaha, Nebraska. They'll be right back.
