Starting point is 00:00:00 It's time to go one-on-one with D.P. Coming at you live from the heart of Lincoln America, a 93-7-a-ticket and the ticketfm.com. Here is your host, Derek Pearson, brought you by Canopy Street Market. Boom. Boom. Boom. In your face. Hey, none of the have your attention.
Starting point is 00:00:36 It's good to be. me back in Lincoln. Lincoln is gorgeous, gorgeous, I say. gorgeous. I've missed you. I've missed you. You wonderful, beautiful, babe, you. It's good to be back. Hollywood, Beverly Hills, Los Angeles has been spectacular. We'll talk about a lot of things in this hour. Apparently, you know, the Pete Rose thing has really set people off, but we also have to reset. We have to recalibrate. We'll do that in the hour. We'll talk about a Husker softball and a big opportunity. But first things first in beating Yukon before they peek over the neighbor's fence to see what awaits after that. First things first.
Starting point is 00:01:20 Keep the first thing first, and that is important. 402, 464-5-685 is the Sartarham in Texas line. You want to be a part of what we're doing? Hit me with a what's up. Bach and I will take you through the next hour. You can be a part of it. So reach out. We'll have several conversations.
Starting point is 00:01:36 in the course of the hour. Yes, I am pumped up. It has been, I got in midnight last night. So, and then my, my, my, we had cleaners come in and my alarm clock was, the time was misset. So, and I don't look at the clock before I go to bed. Like it's turned the other way. And it turns out that the clock was an hour and 14 minutes ahead.
Starting point is 00:02:06 So man, oh man, pretty exceptional, pretty exceptional. You can follow on all the live video streams, Facebook, YouTube, X, and Hello, Channel 961. You want to be a part of what we're doing. You can follow that way. You can jump on the ticket app and download the ticket app. Please have it on your phone. So you have it. Craig, what's up, man?
Starting point is 00:02:29 Just because you texted in, no wrestling talk, block. How the heck? See? Do you people, do you, Craig, you know me. You know me. You know me. I'm not new anymore. And if you knew to just not mention wrestling, you had a better shot of not,
Starting point is 00:02:49 us not talking wrestling, because I had no wrestling on the agenda, until you texted in to say no wrestling talk. Guess what, Craig? You've set the table, sir. You've set the table. You get John Sina. You'll get some, the rock. You'll get some.
Starting point is 00:03:06 you were trying to be funny, but I'm funnier and I have the microphone. So that's how that worked. Derek and the car, appreciate you, Thunder, not Collins. How are you,
Starting point is 00:03:19 how are you? Let me know what you're doing on a, on a beautiful Wednesday. There's lots going on. Just got back. I went to, um,
Starting point is 00:03:29 Craig, it's just, it's, those are the rules. Those are the rules. those are rules. I can be meaner than y'all. That's how it works.
Starting point is 00:03:42 Be kind, I will be kind. I told you the text line is really a thermometer or temperature of the room. And if you get, that's why I say, say what's up. So we're having a conversation. But if you yell at me from the car without saying, hey, DP, what's up? I'm probably going to punch back.
Starting point is 00:04:04 That's just, I'm sorry. It's part of the deal. Cubsker, what's happening, brother? Cubsker, see, Cubsker understands. He says, was I the only one who felt like backlash was just extravagant? Yeah, I thought it was. I thought it was. Right?
Starting point is 00:04:22 I thought it was. So pretty good. There's nothing too expensive for this show. He built an entire station around this show. And listen, to remove this thing around, because ideally I'm at the point now, I'm ideally where I want to do more recreational, right? Recreative one-on-ones. We're going to have, we originally had Peter Cobalt from Husker tennis schedule,
Starting point is 00:05:03 but Transfer Portal work never ends. And he called and said first things first. And I'm like, bro, I'll see you next week. Pretty simple. Pretty simple. But Peter, I was looking forward to talking some Husker football with him. Got a football schedule to look at and talk about because I wanted to ask him. And Bach, I'll ask you this.
Starting point is 00:05:24 If you had an opportunity to go to any Husker game on the away schedule this year, right? Any Husker game on the schedule this year, where would you go? And if you look at the schedule, again, Kansas City, right, for Cincinnati on August 28th, you then go on the road to College Park, Maryland, which means you get to go to D.C. I will absolutely be at that game. Count it. Count it. Count it.
Starting point is 00:05:54 Going to be there. Then to Minneapolis, you get to go to UCLA in November. Los Angeles in November. Then to University Park and Penn State, but it is November 22nd. And let me tell you, Bach, you're going to have to dress for that. You're going to have to dress for it. Of those games, which game would you go to? Textline, let me know, which away game would you go to?
Starting point is 00:06:23 Right. And I think as a Husker fan choosing one thing, but then as a football fan, if you haven't been to Happy Valley, it would be pretty interesting. pretty interesting. But if you haven't been to Pasadena, that's also not a bad way to spend Thanksgiving early week, right? Yeah, that'll be November 8th, but yeah, in November.
Starting point is 00:06:52 Yeah, Texter says, 2-267 says, Penn State would be the best away game to go to. You're not wrong. And Bach, whatever your answer is, you're absolutely right. It can be Kansas City because the Huskers are in Kansas. you're in a familiar place. Pretty cool, easy access. I get it.
Starting point is 00:07:11 Bach, what is your choice, sir? Well, like you said, kind of breaking it down, there's a lot of fun choices here. I love opening weekend of college football. It's probably my favorite weekend of the year. I am planning with the blessing. We'll see if I get the time off. Time off and working while I go there, by the way,
Starting point is 00:07:27 to make it out to Kansas City. So we will see that one will hopefully be able to make. I've made it out to UCLA before. not for a Nebraska game, but still. And I've also made it to a Minnesota game. Another road game Nebraska's had before. I would say both those fantastic places go, obviously, Minneapolis or Los Angeles to kind of get the bigger city feel.
Starting point is 00:07:47 And Minneapolis, the campus. I mean, there's just, it's, you know, kind of like Nebraska, I suppose, and that all their, a lot of their facilities are close. So, you know, you can go to a, you know, a Vikings game pretty, pretty, I mean, if you make it a weekend out of that. But I have to, I hate just to go with the obvious answer, but I do think Penn State is a team that I think is often left out of the Blue Blood Club that has the best argument.
Starting point is 00:08:11 They're as close to Blue Blood as you can get in college football. And I'd love to go out there. I don't think I will this year. But at some point in my career or my lifetime, I'd love to see a game at Penn State. Buck, don't doubt yourself. Don't doubt yourself. The work you put again, don't touch yourself. Listen, I'm, I'm, I'm, Jake and I were in the back.
Starting point is 00:08:32 And this is how all comes up. Jake and I are in the back. And of course, I just got back to Jake comes in to update me and download all the stuff that I miss while I was in L.A. and in those discussion. And it's, it was interesting because we, NFL schedule comes out this afternoon. And a big part of it, one of the leaks was the international game. And of course, on the schedule, November 15th or so in Madrid, Spain is Jake Sorensen's Miami Dolphins versus my wife. to commanders.
Starting point is 00:09:05 And we just joke and he's like, well, yeah, why would I go that far to watch them lose? But that's not why you go. You go for all the other stuff. The game almost becomes, eh, man. But we looked. Buck, what do you think a trip from Lincoln to Madrid
Starting point is 00:09:25 for four to five days, let's just say five days? Because you're not going to go to Madrid and just for three days, right? Yeah. What do you think that would budget in? Oh, well, Lincoln is as a starting place doesn't help. So I might want to go to Omaha or something. But yeah, I mean, I would think around, what, $450, something like that, $500?
Starting point is 00:09:49 Yeah, the round trips from Lincoln to Madrid from November were $600. Okay. Which I thought, done. Yeah, that's not bad. All in. All, because it's cheaper to go to Madrid than it is to go to Washington, D.C. It's cheaper to go to Madrid than it is to go to Los Angeles. So it's always weird to me, right?
Starting point is 00:10:15 You just go, okay, fine. And then you think, well, you know, these classic, wonderful, beautiful, upscale hotels in Madrid, you know, $600, $700 a night because there's all the majesty and all the stuff. And you go to Madrid for the food and the drink. Like, it, the football game happened. to be there. Like, it's your excuse. But we're looking around and like hotel rooms for 250 a night. I was like, again, you can't stay in Lincoln on a game night for 250 a room.
Starting point is 00:10:45 So the idea, so Jake and I high-fived. And I think, you know, private, I think we've come to an agreement that that probably Have you been to Madrid before? I have not. Okay. That always helps the first time to have a thing. Right, right. And we said, okay, we'll apologize to Elizabeth and Rebecca.
Starting point is 00:11:02 Advance because, you know, it's just toddlers going to Madrid. So, Bach, here's what we're going to do. We're going to go break, get back on schedule, and then when we come back, I want to talk about, we were talking about, there was talk this morning about Pete Rose, but you have to understand the nature of what's happening and Bach asking the next question, which is why is it happened? why is it that these things happen and why are we always just reactive to it rather than recognizing the why? So Bach and I will go through sports scandals.
Starting point is 00:11:41 And it's as much as a part of sports as anything. So we're going to talk about something. I gave Bach this wonderful page of information. I'm going to ask him some of the ones that jumped to his mind, text line, Greatest sports scandals. Whatever you had, lock and load them for the text line. We'll be back to one-on-one.
Starting point is 00:12:02 Download our app by searching 93.7, the ticket in your app store. You're listening to one-on-one with DP on 93-7 the ticket and the ticketfm.com.
