Starting point is 00:00:00 Listening to one-on-one with DP. Brought to you by Beatrice Bakery. On 93-7 The Ticket and the Ticketfm.com. The Ultimate Warrior. By the way, a really good Royal Rumble this week. They had it on Saturday night instead of Sunday night. But the return of Ronda Rousey to WWE. Return and a dub.
Starting point is 00:00:32 I'm sorry for anybody that recorded it and hasn't watched it. Ronnerousy wins. Oh, man. Like, they brought back, they brought back. Ivory, they brought back. Lita, which. Lita came back? Lita came back, baby.
Starting point is 00:00:46 Lita came back. Melina came back. Malina came back. Okay. Did the splits and slid under the bottom rope. As, as is tradition. Michelle McCool, Undertaker's wife, came back. Oh.
Starting point is 00:01:01 Yeah, it was, it was solid. It was solid. Um, slight surprised on the results. Didn't think that they would allow, uh, Bobby Lashley to win, but I rather enjoyed myself. I rather enjoyed myself. I saw Bad Bunny got in there. Bad Bunny got in did his thing, man. I kind of, you know, I was like, uh, Johnny Knoxville was in.
Starting point is 00:01:21 Bad Bunny surprisingly entertaining. He's so good. Like he could be a pro wrestler. He's that good. Um, but yeah, it was, it was much better. Rock Leicester's hair is weird. He's going full on. He F5 Bad Bunny, didn't he?
Starting point is 00:01:36 Yeah. Was his rap song that bad? Did you have F5, my man? Isn't he coaching at Minnesota? What are you doing? It was, it was, like it was. Is he a wrestling coach at Minnesota? What are you, what are you doing at the Royal Rumble?
Starting point is 00:01:55 What is going on? It's just fantastic. Go coach your guys. It's just fantastic. It was, it was really was. Can't use that move on the mat. It was so good. It was.
Starting point is 00:02:04 So good. But yeah, through all of that. From the text line, the Kevin says, I nominate the young man Verge and his family for a Beatrice Bakery care pack. Care bag basket. I agree. Love and gratitude are currencies.
Starting point is 00:02:21 We should all sprint more freely. I agree 100%. And it's a great idea. It's a great idea. So, yeah, I think we should do that. I'll probably do that tomorrow. We send something down to the basketball offices. Okay.
Starting point is 00:02:38 We can take care of that. So it's all good. Again, if you're looking for something to do for the day. I mean, this is, you know, it's a rare Monday, you know, Monday one. Slightly busy Monday. Okay, for Sean goes. Three to five minutes, you know, late. Okay, right.
Starting point is 00:02:55 He had to stop and get his pizza out of that. He'd run it behind. He better have pizza. He better, like, if you're late, you should have the pizza. He can get his own pizza. He had to get his personal pizza. pizza. I had never had, I had never had Casey's pizza before. Dude, I don't know what you were doing. You missed out of it. Well, because everybody said Valentinas, Valentinas, Valentino's Valentina.
Starting point is 00:03:14 Casey's breakfast pizza is, why is the, why is the breakfast pizza? Top tier. Why? Couldn't tell you. Okay. No. Sprinkle crack on it. But just the breakfast pizza. Yeah, just, just there. It's different than it. All everybody loves Casey's breakfast pizza and everybody seems to just kind of brush it to the side that Casey's started in Iowa. we're going to ignore that part because they're better than that but that is true oh good heavens um it was an interesting weekend of course in in the news the speculation and conversation of tom brady's retirement or not retirement and i'll say this i'll say this uh speculation is not required. Tom Brady is very Mike familiar. He's very familiar with it. And he has he has earned the
Starting point is 00:04:08 right to announce his retirement when he wants to do it, how he wants to do it. 22 years in the NFL. He spent more time in the NFL than he has spent not in the NFL. Yeah, it's the idea that you need to break the story. You need to be first. You need to do that. I know it's a competitive thing in that field. I just don't like it. like there's just one there was and he doubled down on it they asked him about it later on on sports center or whatever and he was like no like tom brady is retiring like i didn't get the story it doesn't see here's the thing it doesn't matter whether he knows it or not it's not his place to do that like just out of professional courtesy to that man who's given him insight and stories and
Starting point is 00:04:51 information that you would just chill you would just chill and let that man speak for himself because too many times people are speaking for folks they don't have a right to speak for. I just don't know how, like, who gave him the information for him to just go out. But it doesn't, like, unless Tom Brady told him to go tell people, you don't go and tell people.
Starting point is 00:05:13 Like, that's human code. Like, forget about the professionalism. If you want that sort of trust, just chill. Like, you don't, there are a million stories. You didn't need that story. especially on championship weekend. Like to take all of the attention and throw it towards Tom Brady and himself,
Starting point is 00:05:33 rather than the four teams that were playing. I'm sure that's why Tom Brady wanted to wait. Well, that's just allow. Again, I don't have to. Like Tom Brady can speak for himself. But I just didn't understand the need to do that. And then everybody, of course, ran to it and jumped behind it and did your whole thing. I was surprised at how hard of that hit me.
Starting point is 00:05:49 Well, but I was, I was very like I read the story and I just sat there and I go, Huh. Well, you know, it's coming. I'm sad. You know what's coming. Like, you know what's coming. I know.
Starting point is 00:05:59 But it's just like, as long as I've been watching and remembering the NFL, it's been Tom Brady and the Patriots. I mean, that's Tom Brady in the bucket of it. But like Tom Brady has just been like a mainstay. And, you know, I lost Peyton. We lost Eli. We're losing Ben.
Starting point is 00:06:14 We lost Philip. We lost Lydania and Tomlinson. Because it's undefeated. And I'm just sitting there and I was like, oh, man. Age is undefeated, my friend. It's just, that's how this works. Like, people are going to come and go. in the game. It hurts. That's how it works. I don't like it. Oh, you know, I just felt like,
Starting point is 00:06:30 come on, Schafter. I don't like father time. Pump the brakes, man. Pump the brakes, somebody's getting fired. It wasn't even necessary. It wasn't even necessary. It would have been a perfect time for the Texas to trade Deshawn Watts. Yeah, just add to it. Like, just pour gas on it. Tomorrow we will talk about the goings-on at Penn State. What is goings-on at Penn State? We will read the story. and talk about it tomorrow. We'll also recap tonight's gymnastics meet and preview tomorrow's basketball game between the Huskers and Rutgers, an opportunity for Nebraska to improve their record.
Starting point is 00:07:09 And we'll talk a little bit about baseball. Softball is a week away or 10 days away, 11 days away, something like that. Don't they play on the 11th? I think so. They play on the 11th. Yeah. Omaha. No, they play Omaha.
Starting point is 00:07:20 Oh, in Omaha? Okay. No, they play at, it's not. They play Omaha at Northern Iowa. Yes. Yes. Because they have an indoor facility. Yeah. So. We're going to get Big Sky on the phone and see if he can break that down for it.
Starting point is 00:07:32 What are you doing, Sam? I thought the chickens could use some more light. Okay. Okay. I realized it was that close.
